Cheer Up Candace & Fireside Girls Jamboree

About this Episode
There's a hundred and four days of summer vacation
until school comes along just to end it So the
annual problem for our generation is finding
a good way to spend it Hello and welcome to the
40th episode day 40 here on the podcast organization
a lot of cool acronym I am of course TFU and
Mike joining me as always Peek on court Michael.
Hello. Hey, how's it going? It's going. Thanks
for noticing. Thanks for noticing me Er is a
better iron hide than iron hide All right, we
got two more Cartoons today one whole full episode
of Phineas and Ferb. We got cheer up Candice
and the fireside girls jamboree Yay So yes, we're
gonna go cheer up Candice and watch Beljeet Try
to pull a jift on him. I don't know Okay, I got
nothing I got nothing I'm not even sure what
you're referring to Jeff that's a puppet guy,
right? Yeah, Beljeet does a dummy act. Oh Yeah,
I forgot about that that was forgettable He's
talking to you dummy Sounds like the scarface
dummy from Oh crap That's gonna be the illusion.
They've put in the wiki. Oh god. Don't even go
there. Please stop We'll be back after this.
Excuse me. Miss Flynn You and the guest are cordially
invited to the mixer mingler mixer mingler say
aren't you that dummy from the nightclub? She's
talking to you. It's obviously some lame attempt
by my brothers to cheer me up. I'm not going
come on It'll do you good. Oh, would you look
at this if I wasn't so depressed? My brothers
would be so busted. With the Mix and Mingler,
you can meet someone new every two seconds. Now
let's fire this baby up. Fasten your seatbelts.
I can't believe I'm doing this. Mix, Mingler,
Mix, Mingler. Glad to meet you. Nice to see you.
My uncle owns a pizzeria. Hey, I still love it.
We love to bake them. Got any leaves? I'd love
to rake them. Here's a maraca. We can shake them.
I like your pants. Yeah, you can take them. I
love to dance when I have the go. I like to shoot
a bow and arrow. I like to dance just like a
fiddle. I'm very small, I need a booster. I'm
being followed by a rooster. Though, but you
like porn. I drew a banjo on my mom. You'd never
know, I'd put a rug. You forgot your socks. I
need a hug. I lost it, pal. I'm into sprockets.
You'd love a guess what's in my pocket. I'm perm.
I'm T. Hops fan. I'm Rex. Next! And it's time
to cheer up Candice. Candice feels depressed
when Jeremy cancels their date and Phineas and
Ferb try to cheer up. Meanwhile Perry is accused
of committing bad deeds and must attempt to clear
his name. Alrighty then. Bad deeds. Bad deeds.
Dirty deeds. And they're done dirt cheap. As
long as Axel isn't singing that song That's right
AC DC on the brain now It's your fault and all
I could think of is Dean Ambrose from WWE his
one of his finishers is called his main finisher
is called dirty deeds nice All right Cheer up
Candice. I was really digging this episode simply
because of the fact of the mix and mingler The
Mixer Mingler? The Mix and Mingle, yeah. I love
that song. That song is awesome. It is a good
song, you know? I'll leave it at that. It's a
good song. I like it. It's just silly. It's a
silly song. It's fun. That's what a lot of these
episodes are supposed to be, is fun. They essentially...
I can't believe they did this. They use a giant
tilt -a -whirl. Wouldn't everybody be sick by
this? That's Tilt -A -Whirl. That's uh... No,
that's a Tilt -A -Whirl. Tilt -A -Whirl is that
thing with the pods that spins and people grab
the thing in the center and spin it on purpose
to make you sick. No, that was more of a... It's
called something else. It does indeed whirl.
You got that kind of right, I suppose. Yeah,
it's a traditional... The difference is the seats
are usually facing out on the Tilt -O -Whirl.
It's the same thing, but this is kind of like
a roulette wheel? Almost? Maybe? Yeah, maybe
like a roulette wheel, sure. There's like two
sets of wheels. One facing out, one facing in.
And then as they turn. Well, because the whole
point of it is they're trying to have Candice
meet people. You've got all these people that
are sitting on both sides of the thing, and that's
why I'm kind of thinking it's like a Tilt -A
-Whirl, because it's more so of the spinning
top aspect than anything else. Because it really
is almost a giant spinning top now that I think
about it, but still, anyway. Monogram and Carl.
Oh, Monogram and Carl. I love it. Why, Agent
P? Why? Why? Too early, Carl. Clearly, you know,
you'd think that they would have a tracking system
on Agent P so they could tell where he is. Yeah.
Well, they have his communicator. Why can't they
track him by that? Yeah. I mean, honestly, they
should know it's not him. Wasn't this no, I think
it's the next episode they use teleportation,
isn't it? Yeah, it's it's jamboree. They use
the teleportation Talk about that later. Yeah
Star Trek you are not Phineas and Ferb Sorry,
we accidentally put your feet on something's
wrong with the teleporter, that's right What
the heck's a temple of Angkor Wat I Don't know
building the temple of anchor watt in playing
cards. It's like, okay We've predicted out seismic
activity for the next three days and found that
there will be none. We've also Predicted for
wind velocity and found zero percent chance of
wind or any precipitation So we're gonna go ahead
with our temple of anchor watt built in nothing
but playing cards Yeah, I don't know I that's
a little weird um yeah That's kind of strange
no more stranger than broccoli top Well no broccoli
tops interesting broccoli tops funny because
it's They couldn't say carrot top cuz that's
that's copyrighted by carrot top. Yeah, so they
did a broccoli top where Buford does prop humor
So apparently, um, the temple of Angkor Wat,
or Angkor Wat, or it's A -N -G -K -O -R, uh,
it resides in Cambodia. That's a real thing.
It is a real thing, yes. Alright. That's... educational.
Yes. So they decided to build a full -scale model
of the, uh, out of car, out of playing cards.
Out of playing cards, yeah. For the for the temple
of Angkor Wat. Oh, it looks just like that, too,
huh? Yeah, exactly. Except in playing cards.
Yeah, except in playing cards. How about that?
I wouldn't have known. Nope, would not have known.
All right, then. So back to the mix of mingler,
the super machine. Now I kind of got the impression
this was a Like a speed dating high -speed dating
type situation, but yeah, it's it's a high speed
dating kind of thing But she's obviously not
going out on dates because she's just trying
to meet new yeah Shearing her up is they want
her to meet new people. There's tons of people
in Daniel. She's never met so that's you know
the uh the stretch that um well you'd call it
a stretch i wouldn't because i actually like
the phineas and fur wiki where they say is it
comes from uh mix and mingle is uh reference
to the we and we's uh meet and mingle option
oh okay yeah so so it's more like high speed
meeting yes meeting at high speed well you know
They had like a number of people of different
sex, and even couples, and a chicken at one point.
So I would hope they wouldn't expect her to date
some of those. It would be weird. So she's just
meeting people, that's all. Random people on
the Tilted World that they meet. Yeah, okay.
Yeah, pretty much What else prepare for emergency
ejection? Yep, that was kind of funny It's pretty
sure they were all gonna die at least they had
parachutes yeah Yeah Doofenswirts had a small
part in this somewhere, right? Yeah, I Don't
necessarily Well, the whole thing is that he's
trying to discredit Perry the Platypus. Right.
And he makes Jerry Lewis the Platypus. I'm sorry.
Is it Jerry? Jerry's the dumb one, right? Yeah,
Jerry's the dumb one. Yeah. It wasn't like the
Platypus going, hi lady! Hi lady, finally then!
Yeah, no. Not that late, and not that platypus.
Yeah, no. But he does call him Jerry. There was
also a Terry the platypus. Yeah. I think Dan
Gelvazan would like that one. Terry the platypus.
Where's Terry? Exactly. Hey, where's Terry? They
all come out of the platyproliferator andator.
Platyproleferator proliferator Yeah, this is
hard to pronounce. Yeah, I got nothing I'm not
even gonna try Rubber baby buggy bumpers Yeah,
rubber baby bumpers Yeah, there you go. You gotta
say it slow. You can't say it five times fast.
It's hard. Yeah Platyproleferatorinator Oh, I
thought you were going to try to say it five
times fast, but anyway. Once was enough, thanks.
His plot here is he wants to discredit Perry
the Platypus by sending out all these platydroids,
or paribots, or whatever you want to call them.
Something like that. To do all these evil deeds
for him. And essentially, the platydroids do
a hell of a lot better than Newfinchburgs does,
because one of them comes back with a giant sack
of money. So, Platypus robbing a bank? Yeah.
It occurs to me that he honestly didn't need
to discredit Peri the Platypus at all. What he
needed to do was just, you know, send these guys
out to disrupt the populace. This is pretty much
what they were doing already. Yeah. And then
we have the whole Peri... Is neo versus the 1000
mr. Smith platypuses? Mr. Smith platypuses platypi
platy people who knows you know what I thought
was interesting is that they weren't actually
clones. I thought they were clones They were
robots which is why you could smash them to bits
there was actually a scene Well, you know when
Perry defeats Doofensmurts, and they blow up
the inator and there's there's flaming platypus
debris falling from the sky And I'm like wow
this got dark really quick This this just took
it down to it really fast It's not Armageddon
until we get flaming platypus debris. That's
right Flaming platypus falling from the sky like
wow this is really kind of harsh, man Platypus
flambé somebody call that French chef that they
were taking cooking lessons from this is what
they should have done for the emergency injection
these people from Danville shooting into the
sky and just raining and debris That would have
been really dark, you know, there's somebody
is tit midair with flaming platypus debris like
oh I thought we'd be okay but now there's flaming
platypus debris flying through the air and crashing
into our life pods or parachutes he took the
last life pod that's right there are no more
escape pods what are we gonna do As the giant
meter made or what what's oh god, I should know
this I just watched the damn movie like a month
ago Mega mega head goes spinning into the Statue
of Liberty. That's right You know anything you
didn't like about this one You know I I don't
know, I gave this one, I gave it a two, it might
make it a three just because it had a catchy
tune. It was silly, I enjoyed it. But again,
the fishtailing of the A side and the B side
was minimal. There's just not much to like here.
I don't know, I kind of liked it a lot. I mean,
I'm gonna give it a four, I really enjoyed it.
That song just... Usually there's one or two
things that that make me just really enjoy the
episode and the mix it mixer and mingler song
Really was one of them The whole thing would
do with monogram and Carl about Carl coming into
it like the whole acting thing on their part
of that That was really funny Yeah As far as
Candice goes she needs to I don't know Stop reading
Quasmo or Quizmo or whatever that is. Teen creep?
That's all Stacey's fault. I blame Stacey for
that crap. Damn it, Stacey. Damn it, Stacey.
I like at the end how she runs into Jeremy and
he's just making money to take her on a nice
date and they end up in a horse -drawn carriage.
Yeah, his horse -drawn carriages are romantic
you Especially for teenagers, you know, well,
you know, I uh, oh heck where were we were in
um, oh What is that in Kentucky right right across
the right off the river we were there for BotCon
it was um Lexington yeah, we were in Lexington
and they had horse -drawn carriages downtown
and You know despite the fact that we could have
been mugged at any time Being downtown Lexington.
We got on a horse -drawn carriage, and it was
very romantic Well, yeah, but you know you're
a 30 -something year old couple with two children
that needed to get away for a weekend So there's
a difference in You guys getting away and doing
a horse -drawn carriage thing it you know your
mid -30s then two Teenagers doing it in Danville.
I mean come on now I'm sure that they were in
no danger of being mugged and or killed. I tend
to find that it's more romantic when you don't
die. Lexington's not that dangerous. The horse
horse person, what do they call the driver? You
know, the person who drove the horse. She was
telling us about what parts were. Parts of the
downtown area were safe and which ones weren't
it's not like any of them are very safe. Oh What
you really have to worry about here in Kentucky
is Anything like far out east or west like outside
of the major cities like if you go out into the
mountains of Kentucky or Any of that kind of
that's what you really have to worry about because
you don't have to worry about muggers you have
to worry about crazy rednecks crazy rednecks
with their banjos Yeah, you be a redneck if you're
gonna get hate mail from rednecks now, so Hey,
I love Jeff Foxworthy. Shut up All the rednecks
are gonna be like What'd you say about my mama?
It's like, oh, no. Hey, he's the one that said
something about somebody's mama. I didn't say
nothing. I said no such thing. What, uh, what
are you going to rate Fireside? Fireside, we
haven't gotten that for you. Yeah, I know. What
the hell's next? I was going to give it a two.
Clear up. Cheer up, Candice. Cheer up, Candice.
Cheer up, Candice. I was going to give that a
two. Maybe you know, I mean, what do we what
do we give as a bonus point for for for having
a catchy tune? It's like cuz I didn't like this
episode as much didn't do much for me. So I give
it a two but it had a nice catchy tune so Three
two and a half. I don't know. You think I'll
give it a three. All right. Yeah The episode
yeah three is middle ground. So the the episode
was average but the tune really Fit. So if the
tune wasn't there, the episode would probably
end up being a two. Yeah, there you go. Sure.
There you go. That works. All right. We're going
to get to the final episode of the day after
this. 50 patches in one day. It can't be done.
Sure it can. 37. In a row? Try not to get any
patches on your way to the parking lot. brothers
first concert visit to the tri -state area phone
lines are clogged and websites are crashing as
local music fans try to get first crack at the
hottest concert tickets of the decade must get
tickets Yesterday it's funny the cleanup usually
takes care of itself, but we've been working
all night on this one That's the last of it guys.
Thanks. It was our biggest project ever. How
could you miss it? I was kind of busy catch this
special added benefit content tonight at the
Fireside Girls Jamboree. Okay, I still got a
chance. What the heck? Fireside Girls only? Please
enter your patch number. Gotta get the right
numbers, gotta get the right numbers. You have
exceeded your log -in attempts? No, you've exceeded
your log -in attempts, idiot! Yes, Candice? Your
little friend Isabella, she's a Fireside Girl,
right? What's her patch number? I'm not sure.
But I can ask her when she gets back from her
meeting at the Fireside Girl Lodge. Lodge, huh?
Come on, you're taking me down there. Now! Hey,
where's Perry? All right, last up today we have
the Fireside Girl Jamboree in order to get tickets
to the Paisley Sideburn Brothers concert. Candice
joins the Fireside Girls in order to get 50 patches,
which is what she needs in order to get the tickets.
Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz plans to turn the
bridge between the mainland and the Fireside
Girls cupcake factory into broccoli. So, broccoli
again. How'd that happen? Wait, where was there
broccoli before? Broccoli top. Oh, this Buford
dough. It's a reference to Carrot Top. It's not
the same. Yeah, it is. Yes, it is. Actually,
you want to know something really funny? I thought
Buford's was a hell of a lot funnier than any
other prop comedy Carrot Top has ever done. See,
I just don't find prop comedy funny, so it...
Well, there you go. It's fine. Neither one of
them does anything for me. Jeez. Not abused.
Okay, you know bothers me here Paisley sideburn
brothers Yeah, it doesn't Disney owned the Jonas
Brothers Especially then I mean if I'm sure they
Existed because they had to have been modeled
off of this So I think this is just a missed
opportunity on Disney's part that they they actually
could have had the Jonas Brothers on here Because
they were basically just passing them around
between what was it Miley Cyrus's show and that
other show that I forget the name of I Think
I think they actually showed up on Jack and Cody's
sweet life No, Jonas Brothers never showed up
on Zack and Cody. Are you sure? Yes, I'm positive.
I've seen all those episodes of Zack and Cody
and Sweet Life on Deck. No, the Jonas Brothers
did have their own show. I forget what the name
of it is off the top of my head, but they had
their own show alongside Hannah Montana and Zack
and Cody and all that stuff back in the day.
Yeah. You're right. It's very... You know, it's
it's very very Jonah see and a lot of cross -malination
going on there Yeah, what I find interesting
is that there's a half -life to reference in
this episode Really? Again great assault sure
here, but they say under illusions The teleportation
sequence with Perry is a vague, hard -to -catch
reference to Half -Life 2. In Half -Life 2, Dr.
Kleiner had invented a teleporter that, before
the game's events, was tested with a cat, much
like how Perry was forced to test it. Major Monogram
and Dr. Kleiner have a similar line. Fire it
up, Carl! And Barney, if you'd be so kind, respectively,
both lines show similarities on where they tell
an assistant to turn on the teleporter. The final
reference is the easiest to catch Perry's teleporting
to random places, ultimately teleporting just
off solid land in the final teleport, just like
Gordon Freeman when he teleports into the water.
Alright, I like that game, so I'm gonna give
that a pass. Alrighty then. There you go Yes
This is is this the first time yes, haha First
time that Ferb says Perry's name and the first
time that we actually get Ferb asking. Where's
Perry? Where's Perry? That's the first time he
said Perry's name Yep, are you sure because there
was the whole Perry come home episode? Yeah,
but that's singing Ferb singing is different
from Ferb speaking. Oh, I didn't realize there
was two separate voice actors I Don't know if
there's two set I would assume that the singing
voice for Ferb is different than I don't think
exactly Look at go back to backyard beach and
look at backyard beach. I don't think Thomas
Sangster now. I'm sure that That actor is very
talented. I don't think he can beat box Pretty
sure that that Ferb is is two different. Yeah,
so now I want to have reggae in my head. Yeah
Why are you gonna? Because I got a beach the
back yard a beach stuck in my head The teleporters
on the fritz Candice has a middle name Yeah,
Candice Gertrude Flynn for which she gets her
honesty patch I really like the alligator wrestling
That actually showed up at the end to the alligator
wrestling. Yeah, the alligator wrestling is awesome
because The end is slightly the the replay of
it is slightly different than the actual Yeah,
what actually happens? Because at the end Ferb
said Phineas says Wow, that's gonna hurt In firms
like yes the alligator no, he's gonna leave a
mark Yeah, it was oh, that's gonna leave a mark
and he goes yes on the alligator now I was trying
to remember dip. Did he not have that line? In
the actual actual show. No, did he get a line
in the actual show? Because I thought that would
be strange to give him his only line in the end
credits You know, he had a line I'm pretty sure
I thought he would have, but... Well, yeah, he
does. He's the one that asks, where's Perry?
Ah! Yeah, you're right. Okay. Absolutely. See,
I shouldn't have forgotten that, because I got
it written down. I just told you that two seconds
ago! Duh! You're done, man. You know, I'm forgetful,
and that's the problem. That is a problem. Yes,
yes it is So Candice wants to get her tickets
To see the paisley sideburn brothers and she
can only get them from a fire side girl Yep,
so she volunteers to be a fire side girl. Yep
Oh, that was the doofensmerch side. Okay, so
the doofensmerch wants to destroy the bridge
going to the fireside cupcake factory. Yes. By
turning it into a broccoli. Because he's trying
to lose weight. You know, he's trying to reach
his goal. I understand. I've been there, man.
I get it. Mr. karate yoga, man. That's right.
You know, I lost that battle. I'm still about
20 pounds overweight. Uh, it was just sad. I
was, uh, I was in yoga and, and I was trying
to like bend into this particular pose and I
can't cause the belly's in the way. And I'm like,
damn, I'm fat. I hate that. So, so yeah, that's
a problem. Um, so I completely understand when
the cupcakes show up at the door, I just throw
money. Just throw money out the door. Take my
money! Shut up and take my money! Shut up and
take my money! So there's the story. And then,
of course, Phineas and Ferb make roller coasters
because, you know, that's what they do. Phineas
and Ferb always make roller coasters. They make
roller coasters and roller coaster becomes the
perfect cupcake delivery system. and the Go Candice
Go Go Candice song. Which is similar to the Fast
and the Finneas Go Finneas song. Is it? Yep.
Oh, see, I'd like to hear them side by side.
That would be cool. But yeah, I... I thought
the song was funny. I liked it. I liked the little
montage of her cruising around on the roller
coaster. Yep. Thought it was funny when the roller
coaster disintegrated in the broccoli and she's
like what the heck man What the broccoli? How
does that even make sense and I'm like it doesn't
It makes no sense whatsoever. So she's like I
can make 20 blocks in five minutes. I can do
this and she starts running Aren't you a little
old to be a fireside girl? Yes So I thought that
was funny Phineas says now that's persistence
and I'm thinking there's got to be a persistence
badge Nope, nope, afraid not The old lady's afraid
not afraid not but she did earn her 50th patch
by Beating the previous record or most patches
in one day or whatever else and that got her
her 50th patches She got her tickets to the show
We go to the concert, and Phineas and Ferber
there, how'd you guys get here? She can have
her friends be at the show since the fi - Oh,
no. She went - Oh. Went - And that's where the
whole, maybe you should work on your good listener
patch next, Candice. Exactly. These two plots,
the Doof plot and the Fireside Girls plot will
- Come back later for some interesting continuity
Really? Oh well the doof plot more that I think
about this after I wrote that note the doof plot
does because I know there's another one he's
Doofenshmirtz is He's a I don't want to say he's
a complex character, but he has many facets to
himself One of those facets is this losing weight
For his goal kind of thing here. There's another
one where coming up where he tries to lose weight
But He does it by Getting junk food solution
is something weird where he has all this broccoli
and carrots and whatever else, but he has all
this that these two giant vats of fat and sugar
and whatever, and he essentially just ends up
covering the broccoli, because he hates the taste
of broccoli. Just covers it in sugar and artificial
sweeteners and whatever else, and it basically
tastes like candy. And he ends up getting two...
I know I'm basically giving the whole plot here.
I don't even remember which episode it is. I
know it's coming up because we haven't seen it
yet. But yeah, Brooklyn... brookly what the hell
is a wow I can't talk it's a brookly yeah yeah
it's a one one froggy evening jumped over the
brookly the brook Lily I should say so yeah I
love this episode I'm giving it a five what about
you you know I was gonna give it a four I mean
there's a lot going on here It's really good.
I like the go -go Candice. There's actually dovetailing
going on, which they seem to have forgotten about
recently. When we say dovetailing, it's interesting
how the innator interferes with Candice's quest
to become the fireside girl. Yeah, is there anything
I didn't like about this why why wouldn't I give
this a five? I don't know Oh, I wouldn't you
get it now that I'm thinking about it. I'm not
sure maybe it does need a five. I Mean, I liked
it. It was a good episode Maybe maybe I just
feel as if fives shouldn't be handed out like
candy. I'm not sure exactly But yeah, four or
five somewhere in there. It was a good episode.
I liked it Four or five somewhere in there who
knows yeah somewhere all right. We are gonna

a Buford episode right there And Finding Mary
McGuffin, that's a Candace and Vanessa episode.
Ooh. Yeah. Can't wait. So, you know, you were
saying earlier about having other characters
where tomorrow we're getting a Buford -centric
episode in the Bully Code. So that'll be all
about Buford and Baljeet. And then Little Mary
McGuffin or Finding Mary McGuffin or whatever
the hell the Mary McGuffin, McGuffin name of
that McGuffin episode is, is Candace and Vanessa.
