Phineas and Ferb Season 1 Recap and Countdown

Hello folks and welcome to episode 27 day 27

here on Palka before we get to this season 1

recap Slash countdown. This is TF2 and Mike joined

by Peacock or Michael obviously now we have already

recorded episode 27 But we wanted to put this

clip in the beginning of it to let you know.

We've been working on the math folks and it's

for me, it's turning out to be like if I was

doing math because it's just so horrendous. Uh,

here's the thing. Doing a daily podcast is a

huge, huge undertaking. Um, not to throw Michael

under the bus, but I'm going to anyway. He just

shows up and talks. I record, edit, post. I'm

not going to sit here and complain about it,

but that's just the facts of life. It's true.

If only Trudy was really here. But it's one of

those things where we've given you the first

full season of Phineas and Ferb reviews. We have

come to the decision, as co -hosts and friends

and everything else, and for our own sanity,

we are still going to be recording the show.

We're just not going to release Season 2 right

away. And we came up, Michael came up with the

idea of releasing them one season per summer.

I built on that idea by saying, ooh, why don't

we finish recording season two? We can release

season two over the fall and winter times of

2016. And then in 2017, we can release season,

start releasing season three, because we'll have

plenty of it recorded by then. 2017 for those

of you who may not know is the 10 year thank

you 10 20 30 whatever this is not transformers

damn it 2017 would have been 10 years since Phineas

and Ferb started so when we get to say the end

of season 2 or The beginning of season 3 we can

then say oh, hey We're celebrating 10 years of

Phineas and Ferb So thank you so much to everybody

who has listened to the first 26 episodes and

this 27th episode. We hope you enjoy our countdown.

Uh, we are still going to be producing the show.

We're just going to take a break from releasing

it for a little while because we need to stay

sane. Um, we can't have any insane in the brains

over here. No, it's true. Yeah, it's just no

ICP. Or no, not ICP. Cypress Hill. There you

go. God, can you get my references right? So

again, thank you to everybody who has listened

to the first season of Phineas and Ferb. We are

working very, very hard on the second season

right now. We are recording. If we kept it up

releasing daily, Michael doesn't have the time.

With all of his you know, he has a real job.

He has a family He we would have had to have

recorded seven days a week to keep up with the

daily schedule So we think this is gonna be better

for you guys where we record all of season 2

we then start airing season 2 and We won't have

to keep up with a schedule. So season 2 will

start with episode 28 the late -nose monster

It'll go through episode 60, which I don't remember

what episodes are in that one. I think episode

60 is a season two recap countdown. So yeah.

Anything you want to say before we get to episode

27? It's true. All of it. Yes. It's all true,

folks. So it is still going to be a daily podcast,

but we may have to take a few months off from

releasing. So we can get the production done

Hey, how's it going? It's going. And because

today is episode 27 and only took us episode

one, the 27 for season one of Phineas and Ferb,

today is going to be the season one recap slash

countdown. So we're gonna have two countdowns

for you folks. We're gonna have our top ten Phineas

and Ferb favorite episodes from season one and

we're gonna have our top ten favorite Phineas

and Ferb songs from season one And we're also

going to talk about other general things we did

or didn't like, and characters that we did or

didn't like, and all that good stuff. And we'll

wrap up season one, and then tomorrow, day 28,

we'll start with season two with the Lake Nose

Monster parts one and two. Ooh, wee doggie. Yup,

and season two is going to be long. I think season

two is from episode 28 to... Sixty... Eight or

seventy, I believe. I could be wrong. Alright,

we're gonna be busy. I know what we're gonna

do today. And with that, let's get to the countdown.

So, Ferb, what do you want to do today? What

about Perry? What does he want to do? Well, he's

a platypus. They don't do much. I, for one, am

starting to get bored. And boredom is something

up with which I will not put. The first thing

they're gonna ask us when we get back to school

is what'll we do over summer. I mean, no school

for three months. Our lives should be a rollercoaster.

And I mean a good rollercoaster. Not like that

one we rode at the State Fair. Who's exit to

the left? Man, that was lame. Why, if I built

a rollercoaster, I would... That's it! I know

what we're gonna do today! Finneas, Barb! I'm

gonna go pick up a few things. You boys stay

out of trouble, okay? Okay, Mom. We're gonna

build a rollercoaster! I'm in charge, right?

You did tell them I'm in charge. Relax, Candice.

Nobody has to be in charge. But what if there's

an emergency? Like what? What if, uh... What

if a satellite falls out of orbit and crashes

into the house? If that happens, you're in charge.

Yes! Mom says I'm in charge, conditionally. Whatever.

Wait a minute. What are you doing? Homework.

It's summer. That's cool. You wait till the last

minute then. Well, I'm watching you. And I'm

in charge. Conditionally! First up, folks, our

first countdown is our top ten favorite Phineas

and Ferb season one episodes. Mom! Oh, great

a magical being who makes all things magically

vanish before mom sees them. Knock it off! Coming

in at number ten... Michael, what was your number

ten choice for your favorite season one episode?

You know, actually, you caught me off guard here.

I'm not sure if I ordered these. Did you make

the list? I made a list. I'm not sure if they're

ordered by preference. This one might be. Let's

just go with it. I'm going to go with it. You

and Steve Megatron, when I sit there and say,

I want you guys to make a top 10 list, number

10 to number 1, and y 'all still come, oh, they're

not in any particular order. Not in any particular

order. You know what? My songs are in order.

So I have that down. But as far as episodes go,

it's hard. I love them all equally as my own

children. Right, uh, so we were wearing helmets.

Don't worry Your boys will be in good hands as

you can see from our realistically illustrated

of summer school because my grades were too high,

end of summer! Yes! I actually busted Phineas

and Ferb! This is the happiest moment of my life!

Number 10. Phineas and Ferb get busted. Clancy

Brown is in the episode. He's awesome. I love

Clancy's voice You know what? I didn't know I

didn't know that Geraldo Rivera played Morty

Williams Looks like the guy looks like her all

over Vera didn't occur to me that her all over

Vera was the voice I thought that was awesome

All right, my number 10 is out of tune before

I squeal on you rats? And you know I must. Will

you please tell me what's going on here? We're

building an animation studio so we can make our

very own cartoon show. I thought cartoons were

all made by computer. Yeah, that's right. This

is just for show. This is where the magic happens.

It's the PF -5000 Animatron. All you do is tell

the machine what you want. I'd like my cartoon

character to have the power to be everywhere

at once. I'll be called Multiman. Infer would

have a utility belt and use lots of crazy gadgets.

Could be called, um, Ferb Guy. Well, I would

have Super Mind Control and use telepathy and

telekinesis to keep you superdweebs under control

with your lame -o superpowers. We can call you

Control Freak. Come on, let's watch. We start

with a few cool drawings. We compile those into

a storyboard, and it all gets fed into the computer.

Then we add a little story. It's a bitty dialogue.

The Executron analyzes it and makes a few notes.

this is not one of my favorites the art pod addresses

are made then it goes the shreds get fed into

here and somehow it all comes together here in

the animatic check it out we're super dudes you

guys are super busted as soon as i tell mom What

you doing? Come into the Phineas and Ferb studios

and we'll show you. Isabella, about that what

you doing back there? Up, up, up. We'll talk

about it later. Over years where we had sound

effects. Did you know that for years a balloon

was used for the majority of sounds you hear

in cartoons? Ferb will demonstrate. Ferb? Absolutely.

A very wise and small -headed man once asked,

if you could have any superpower, what would

it be? I would harness the power of rainbows,

unicorns, and sweetness to defend all that is

good and just. I'd become the rainbow. Wow, that's

great. What about you, Buford? It's an interesting

question, you pose, as it reveals not only one's

impulses and desires, but one's deepest fears

as well. I'll go with Belch Man. You know, fights

crimes with different burps? Cool. How about

you, Belcheet? Isabella took mine. Hmm. School

seems to be very important to you. Books, being

responsible and studious, getting good grades.

Oh! That's it! I will become Hanuman Man! A flying

blue monkey that can grow as massive as he desires!

To crash all in his way! Fun choice. That was

perfect, guys. Now let's record the voices for

the scene where the heroes ask the villain for

help. Phineas, I - Hi, Candice. You're just in

time to help us record the voices. There is no

way on earth I'd ever help you. Cut and print.

That's why we call it one take fling. I just

love out of tune because it's it's a cartoon

telling the kids how to make a cartoon. That's

just awesome. So meta. No, no more pointing and

laughing kids, please. Um, and Pined Pier is

kind of hilarious. I thought that was funny.

Uh, seeing more of Mr. Fletcher, seeing more

of Lawrence's, uh, you know, past and what he

was brought up with and all that stuff. And I

thought that was really cool. And, uh, just some

of the lines in this, like, um, Isabella says

who she's going to be and they go to Baljeet.

Isabella took mine. Pretty, pretty princess pony.

I don't know what she said, but that was funny.

The rainbow and I'll fight. Yeah, crime with

rainbows, so yeah. There you go. And then that

turned Belgeet into a blue monkey. Kind of like

Steve Martin in Looney Tunes back in action.

Oh boy. Oh boy. You've never seen that, have

you? I can't say I have. Alright. Where there

will be no brothers trying to make me look bad,

no. I will be the ruler of my very own evil empire!

You're building your own evil land? Yes, yes,

an evil country. And you made a plush model.

Well, yeah, you know, I, uh... I had a lot of...

felt. You do know what this means? That we'll

finally have that special daddy -daughter bond

you've always craved? No. It means I'm finally

gonna have proof. Ha! You are busted. I'm gonna

tell Mom. Great! Tell her what. Coming in at

number nine, what do you got? Hail Doofania.

Alright Norm, the anthem please. In the bay off

the coast of the tri -state area Flots a country

for me and me It's new, it's bright and it's

founded on spite And it's everything I Does it

feel like it stops too quick there? We'll work

on it. Really? Yeah. You know, this one's got

Norm. Norm is the best. This was a really Norm

-centric episode. You had a lot of Norm in there.

And I really like Norm. It also has Vanessa and

Candice when they switch clothes. Yeah. And I,

you know, I can't get enough of Vanessa. So In

you and don't it well, you know, I mean she's

got that the tight candy rocks outfit on Yeah,

yeah, so number nine held you fania Yeah, I I

think I think we already talked about that in

the episode, but I think my favorite line out

of that is you made a Plush model. I had a lot

of felt a lot of felt Okay, boys, let's have

a fair and square fight, and in no way should

this ensuing fight contain the image of a potentially

harmful, hurtful, or psychologically disturbing

physical act that could be found imitatable by

an impressionable child viewer. For me number

nine has to be raging bully It's Michael Buffer

folks as the Royal Rumble guy is the ring announcer.

I mean, come on, right? And this is Vander Holyfield.

That's kind of cool. Thank God. They didn't animate

him with his ear bitten off. They didn't? I don't

think they did. I kind of got that impression

that they did. It kind of looked like he had

a little a little bump there or something But

I just really dig this episode because, you know,

Buford's like, you and me, three o 'clock behind

the school, you know, and all this, and you expect

that they're going to fight, and then they end

up in a thumb wrestling match. I don't know a

lot of people nowadays that aren't of around

our ages. Kids today don't know what the hell

thumb wrestling is. Most of them don't, unless

their parents teach them properly. my kids know

well yeah I'm saying you're the exception Steve

probably the exception but I'm saying like kids

today are not out there having thumb wars they're

they're out there using Mac 10s and Uzis and

actually killing each other as 12 year olds do

yes yes that's right 12 year old gangbangers

well if you're gonna start early might as well

start sometime somewhere Okay, so RagingBully,

yeah, Michael Buffer is the announcer voice,

the whole Phineas and Ferb versus Buford, the

ice cream thing, the irony of that. I absolutely

love RagingBully. Okay. This is a toy factory.

How'd this chocolate river get here? Who the

heck are you guys? We are the Batinkadinks! You

set us free when you remodeled the factory. We've

been trapped in the basement for years making

foam peanuts and sipping the tabs off of plastic.

We will now lay waste to the service dwellers!

And number eight, what do you got? Toy to the

world. Okay then, carry on. Oh, so low. He's

a platypus. He doesn't do much. secret agent

Perry the platypus action figure and and the

funny thing is that they the I Don't want to

say like like the way they approach toys in this

is Maybe giggle because you know, I know a fair

bit about how Hasbro produces their their transformer

line and it's like wow Maybe they should take

a note As long as there's no chocolate rivers

I didn't mention the chocolate river you posted

something about the chocolate river and I responded

I said Where do those chocolate rivers come from

anyway, and I responded. I don't think that's

chocolate There's a reason why they're green

I said, in the description for the podcast for

episode eight, day eight for Toy to the World,

I said, sometimes I think listeners are asking

us, who the heck are you guys? Because that's

what Phineas said to the badink -a -dinks. The

badink -a -dinks, yeah. And then I tagged you

and I said, Palka, episode eight, Toy to the

World, we will lay waste to all other Phineas

and Ferb podcasts. Where did that chocolate river

come from, anyway? And that's how I ended it.

I still don't think it was chocolate. I'm pretty

sure it was. You're up to shit creek ba -dink

-a -dinks. I feel like a kebab. I too feel a

certain element of kebabism. I said quiet, you!

number eight is Got Game. I know you don't do

sports and all that, but I just love this because

it was just so hilarious. And on top of that,

um... You know, you've got the F Games theme

in this, and that's pretty much my go -to song

from season one. I love that song. Okay. Get

ready! Round one! Fight! Oh, you're my meat!

What, you want a piece of meat? Uh -uh. I want

the whole thing, baby! So, what are you young

ladies doing? Wrestling, Mom! Favorite game?

Well, I'll just be running a few errands. First

I'll get the groceries, then to the florist,

and then to the car wash. Okay, whatever, kind

of busy right now. Call if there's any trouble.

With my brothers, I might as well call now. All

right. Number seven, what do you got? Tree to

get ready. It gets better. Try pressing the THF

button. THF? What's that? Some sort of sound

system? My god. Okay. So folks we did not look

at each other's lists at all. Really? I Intentionally

do that. I blame optimus solo from talking and

sir from cinema geeks and powers of gray skull

list. I have tree to get ready. It's my number

seven There you go It's free to get ready. It's

got candy rocks. That's her code name. Yep, and

it has Trying to say so I wasn't thinking about

Stacy Liz I was gonna say the oh man the song

was um, oh Yeah, oh god We're failing here. Oh,

yeah It's it's um It's it's it's it's it's it's

Anyway, so you have these Yeah, these new tree

houses and it's nice that the boys actually thought

of their sister and made her remade her tree

house it's uh, it's not just Them trying to drive

their sister insane, you know, they actually

care about her. It's it's a very lovely episode

Yes, it is. I love treating it ready simply for

the THX reference but instead of THX it's treehouse

fight it's THF I absolutely love that I thought

that was hilarious and the fact that the treehouses

turn into giant treehouse monsters that was just

so so cool yeah uh the song was uh my goody two

shoes brother I don't know maybe it wasn't that

then that's what it says on the wiki and I'm

looking at the Phineas and Ferb wiki so anyhow

Yeah, but it was a good episode a lot of them.

Yep Number six. What do you got? Uh squirrels

in my pants Now somebody anybody everybody scream

scream Now that girl's got some serious squirrels

in her pants How do they what's making you jump

like that s to the i to the m to the p squirrels

in my pants and they hurt No, wait, i'm, sorry

It's about time. Now you know what my number

that was a really good episode and fossils Dun

very end when the music comes in and they do

end of the episode. That's what I love about

it Yeah, and he's like repeating it ad nauseum

You know, I I really like the time travel theme.

I like Terminator and you know things like that

And I just really like what they did with this

is this episode was a lot of fun for me number

six is technically it's a two -parter even though

it is made as two separate episodes, Unfair Science

Fair and Unfair Science Fair Redux for number

six for me. I just... No, I'm not cheating. You're

using a double. It's about time it was a two

parter. So, no, not cheating. Yeah, I guess you're

right. Yeah, okay. Yeah, it's about time it was

a two parter. I should know. I edited the show.

You were absolutely right. legs for it anyway

it will all become clear soon enough sorry madam

sorry her voice was so masculine and growly I

thought it was a man I mean people must call

her sir all the time on the phone it must be

so she's standing right behind me now isn't she

Not one word, Perry the Platypus. So, unfair

science fair and unfair science fair, Redux.

A portal to Mars. And what does it do? Well,

without complicating it, it's a portal to Mars.

And of course, doofus. Look, I'm wearing laterhosen.

What I love about this episode is that it explores

Candace's character a little bit more in the

redux part of the episode when she's on Mars

and all that. I love the scientist, the NASA

thing, the guy, I've been staring at red rocks

for 20 years and nothing, I'm shutting this place

down. Candace is behind him on the screen, just

frantically screaming and he's not even looking

at her. This also gives more insight to Baljeet

and his never -ending quest to be the best student

ever, right? I was very cool What I liked about

this one also is how we see most of the other

kids imitate each other like Buford at one point

and some point and not this specific set of episodes,

but he tried to get away with what you're doing

and Isabella is like up up up You know, so yeah

in this episode Isabella starts off, you know

mimicking Baljeet I will be a lowly flunky forever

It's nice It's very very cool and Just the Martians.

Oh god, the sound effects on them Oh god, I just

I find that just hilarious and it was just such

an enjoyable pair of episodes All right, but

then you'd be stuck in a dead -end job too bad.

You can't just do it once and move on Well, what

you're talking about is a one -hit wonder a one

-hit wonder What's that? Well a musical act goes

to the top of the charts with a catchy tune and

meaningless lyrics Then they throw a big diva

tantrum lose their label and they fade to obscurity

before you know it their song ends up as Elevator

music years later. They have a reunion concert

And after that, they never sing again. Number

five, what do you got? Flop Stars, One Hit Wonders,

where we were first introduced to Lindana and

Gitchy Gitchy Goo, which will stick in your brain

no matter how hard you try to get rid of it.

Yep. I defy you to get rid of it. I need to go

back. Oh, which one was it? It's the one where

they're watching the alien take over We're like

aliens are they're watching a movie and aliens

are gonna take over the world and the aliens

are like Get you know, they're like you could

check you up, but it's the aliens doing it. I

need to go back and grab that Yeah, but Flop

Stars absolutely love Flop Stars. My evil space

aliens! For me number five has to be Swinter

or Wummer if you prefer, but Swinter. Eldritch

combination of winter and summer. Yeah. a strange

amalgamation combination yeah something yeah

yeah yeah unique combination of yeah because

people are gonna are gonna bitch at us at the

comments what he said was a logic -defying amalgam

of of winter and summer that's what he said okay

sure There's sleigh bells all around But the

sun's beating down Cause it's swinter It's ski

and snowball fight time And also fly at kite

time Cold and sunny, yes that's right I'm talking

about swinter It's a swinter swunderland Unusual

land grab You can't freeze while you get dead

Because it's swinter I'm talking about swinter

some people call it warmer it's what he says

i've watched and listened to these things because

we're doing the show enough times i have i have

most of the lines ingrained in my brain now uh

but it's winter i love it because at first i

thought they were gonna pull a simpsons there

was an episode where episode of simpsons where

um bart prays for Snow day, so he doesn't have

to make it so he doesn't have to take a test

at school You know being this giant snow day

where you know when we first see in winter when

they're making the the snow when it comes up

to Candice's window, and it basically you know

shutters her in yeah, she opens it gets out yes

They did that in the Simpsons with with with

that episode that kind of made me thought of

that The other thing is just the whole thing.

Yeah, I mean It's been depending on where people

live, especially this summer who the hell wouldn't

want winter in the middle of summer right now

I mean that just the heat recently. It's just

been horrible. Oh, yeah. Yes Nice and hot For

those people who enjoy what things was the Dave

this wasn't the debut of Vanessa But she does

make a cameo appearance because she's on the

ski lift with with Candace when Candace is like,

oh my god, so very high. Yeah For a moment their

ballad snuck your way into my heart snuck its

way to number one and stayed there for 11 consecutive

minutes But whatever happened to love handle

the band was riding high But pace were changing

and love handle found itself playing smaller

and smaller venues pressures from a dwindling

fan base caused infighting among the band members

What is your number four? Dude, we're getting

the band back together. Uh, we're introduced

to Love Handle. Yeah, Vanessa has her 16th birthday

party so it's a lot of Vanessa in here and There's

just a lot of songs a lot of really good songs

yeah, not a really good sign and in fact I I

had trouble like I Deciding which of the songs

should go on my top ten so I decided that only

one of them would And then the rest would just

be included by default These are all awesome,

everything in here. It's just a really good song

episode. Yes. Well, I mean, you've got a whole

band. I mean, why not have a song heavy episode,

right? Yeah. You got a whole band of the eighties.

Each guy has his own... His own song. Exactly.

Yep. So many songs in that episode. Yeah, dude.

We're dude. We're getting the band back together

I love that episode, but sadly it did not make

my top 10 episodes really Boys, let me start

by saying we love your act and we want to be

in the fittest and the Ferb tones business By

the way, aren't you a little young to be pop

stars? No Well, okay then we're prepared to offer

you a very lucrative contract if you'll just

sign exclusively with us for your follow -up

single Follow -up single? Who do you think we

are? Some 2 -bit hacks who keep writing new songs

just because your fans have seen amounts of cash?

Phineas and the Ferb tones are strictly a one

-hit wonder! Good day to you, sir! Diva tantrum?

We can do live CDs, DVDs, podcasts, heck, we

can digitally recreate their images to make our

own sitcom! The Video Suburb Show! We can squeeze

Ah! The giant robot is coming right at us! Because

my number four was your number five, Flop Stars.

Just... I just love this, like... Like I said,

when we did that episode, I love the line from

the ad exec. Oh, we've got this tape of their

performance. We'll squeeze 20 years of content

out of this. I love that part. I love the scene

where Doof is like, OK, Perry the Platypus, just

say when. You must really like a lot of pepper.

Ah, you're not going to make me sneeze when the

giant robot sneezes. Let's see what else about

FluffStars that we haven't already said. The

fact that Candace does get to perform with them

finally, that was cool. I like how Jeremy is

giving her advice on, you know, instead of, you

know, letting your brothers ruin your good time,

just go out and have fun yourself. So I like

that. Comfy, Perry the Platypus? I've prepared

something special just for you. You see, until

now, every attempt to eradicate you has been

foiled. Then I came across some... Excuse me,

who are you and what are you doing here? About

a ticket to see this movie. Okay, just roll the

I mean. The platypus is one of our greatest friends

in nature. A humble but key component in Mother

Nature's delicate cycle of life. But as of late,

worldwide populations have been declining to

near endangerment. But why? Who is the enemy

of the platypuses? Well, you know what I mean.

This is the best platypus movie I have ever seen.

Historically, the enemies of the platypus were

well known. The poisonous swamp viper, the snaggletoothed

badger, and duplicating imitatable stunts seen

on television. But there is a new enemy of the

platypus, one whose tireless development paves

over the platypus's woodland homes. The greatest

enemy of the platypus is man. Hi there! Ah, you

see, Barry the Platypus? For years I've been

trying to rid myself of you with traps and bombs

and poisonous gas and automatic tennis ball machines.

I don't even know what I was thinking back then,

season one here on palco where Michael we had

taken a couple of weeks between recordings And

you really needed to catch up on the episodes.

And creatively in the editing, there was a line

from Buford in one of the later episodes where

he says, oh, it's in -got game. When Baljeet

is asking the stupid question, Buford's like,

oh, come on, man, pay attention. You're embarrassing

me. There's a point in that podcast where Michael

can't remember. And I throw that line right after

you say you can't remember. Aw man, come on,

you're embarrassing me! You're awful. I know.

There's a lot of times where I just can't remember.

You know, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

norm and you can't go wrong with norm First appearance

of norm is grease lightning Really? Yeah No,

I thought this was what this was the first appearance

of norm. No traffic cam. Damn it. Yeah, you're

too late. This is too late traffic cam caper

has norm in it Not only does it have norm in

it, but it also has Perry the platypus coming

dangerously close to being caught as you know

found out as a secret agent Yeah, cuz he wears

a Ferb suit. All right. Yeah, this is a Ferb

suit Because at the end when supposedly Ferb

saves the disk and they're like all right Ferb

wait, where is he going? And then the real first,

how would you do that? And, you know, it goes

back to, it goes back to the Ferb flying Ferb

and it's Perry in the, in the jet pack, but yeah.

Yeah. No traffic cam caper is epic and very deserving

of a number one spot for me. My number one. Uh,

you don't sound certain. No, no, I'm very certain.

I was trying to make a Nomeo and Juliet joke,

but it didn't work. It's Nomek Cannon! Who's

protecting our garden? La Nome Beach Party of

Terror! The beach party was a lot of fun. Oh,

it's got Ferb singing Backyard Beach, it's got

the radio DJ in there, it's got, you know, um...

The surfing contest with Buford using Bobby Nelson

to beat up some other kid. It's it's got Candice

being queen wahini at the beach It's just such

a really fun cool episode and the thing with

doofenshmirtz We this is the the the time where

he tells the backstory about yeah He was the

lawn gnome right and how you know We get the

line at the end of the thing from the radio DJ.

It's no I hear you describe it now. I want to

make it my number one It did make my Honorable

mention yes, it's in there in the honorable mentions

All right, what's honorable mentions? Do you

have well besides the obvious? That probably

should have been my number one now that you describe

it Candice loses her head Yeah, okay, Candice

had the boys want to celebrate Candice and I

want to say her birthday and They they put her

face on Mount Rushmore Mm -hmm. So that was kind

of cool Any other honorable mentions well aside

from the beach party, you know, not really For

me, I'm gonna honorable mention the episode one

the roller coaster. I Still very much enjoy that

episode the other honorable mention I had The

roller coaster was fun, but they hadn't finalized

the voices yet and I found it very awfully. Yeah.

No, I know I understand that the other one I

was going oh one good scare ought to do it parts

one and two simply because the only reason why

I'm doing that as an honorable mention and we've

already talked about how we enjoyed that episode

and stuff but that has the epic Ferb laugh at

the end when they get to the end of the roller

coaster and he goes I use that a lot in the editing

of the episode. In various things. Alright, so

and Ferb his mom being like Tiffany Like all

grown like Debbie Gibson all grown up in the

suburbs with a couple of kids Let's get this

beach party started Number ten for me is one

of the interstitial songs it's in the episode

but it's not really it's one of those songs that

they end up talking over it's in long -known

beach party of terror okay it's in the scene

where they first reveal the beach when candice

says you know when she's like beach in your sandbox

this is below your guy's normal standards and

then she turns around and the the fence lowers

the fence falls away yeah it reveals the beach

it's called if summer only lasted one day okay

Really really dig that song. I thought that was

a really cool song really interesting way to

to introduce the backyard beach I'm gonna go

out in a limb here and say that you also have

the other beach song What backyard beach? Yeah

in your list? Maybe who knows? Little Really?

Well, I like this one because it had a fun montage

of all their earlier exploits. Okay. Alright,

I'll give you that. I mean, the song itself,

it was alright, it was a little downbeat, but

I mean, the presentation of it, I really enjoyed.

Stacy, you're really bumming me out with that

song. Ugh, call me when you get over it. That's

what she said. It's time to get this mission

rolling Don't want to make a fuss, but that was

the pancreas Slow down before we reach the colon

for me we're going to go to the inner space episode

which one was that journey to the center of Candice

because number nine for me is hemoglobin highway

I just love that song when they're traveling

through her bloodstream I thought that was a

really really cool song I thought that was awesome

it was fun Disco miniature golfing queen. Hmm.

I can see that. I liked it. It had a Just when

I think of disco, I think of like Abba Yeah,

Abba and Donna summer and that kind of stuff.

Yeah, I'm trying to like the Bee Gees, right?

Yeah, and Again, it's like the presentation of

it where you've got the the campfire girls and

Fire side girls, but yeah Stacey and they're

all in costume. Yeah, multiple costumes, right?

Yeah, there's multiple. Yeah, it was fun. Number

eight goes to the Phineas and Ferb fashion design

line Forever Summer. I love that song. It's summer

all the time. I just love that. That was so cool.

Number seven. This particular one is where they

basically let Ashley Tisdale open up the pipes.

It's not so much, I don't want to say it's not

like, it's not Candice singing. It is Candice,

but it's more her solo than let's say her part

in Gitchy Gitchy Goo. Her part in Gitchy Gitchy

Goo is almost as a backup. She does have a solo

part in that song, but... Yeah, this is more

of her on her own. Yeah solo It's like they say

Ashley just go ahead and let loose and she's

like, okay, cool. I can sing. All right, let's

do it It's fun. It's uh, I mean, it's it's not

integral to the plot or anything, but again,

it's it's uh Ashley Tisdale kind of letting loose

It's winter It's ski and snowball fight time

And also fly at night time Cold and sunny, yes

that's right I'm talking about winter It's a

swinter's wonderland Unusual land grab You can't

freeze while you get tan Some people call it

warmer. My number seven is Swinter. I love that

song. The song's so cool. I love the part of

the chorus in it. It's a Swintress wonderland.

Just love that. I was going to say it was a shame

that they didn't use like a jazzy riff, kind

of like the old Peanuts cartoons. Yeah that's

true. She had actual squirrels in her pants number

six. What do you got squirrels? squirrels in

my pants that That I had actual squirrels in

his pants We are so owned We keep getting served

I was gonna say schooled owned I was looking

online on YouTube particularly for the Bumpers

that would play in between Disney Channel shows

that had The Phineas and Ferb songs because we

talked about this during the episode where they

had one for squirrels in my pants They had one

for get you get you goo. They had one for evil

boys And these you know watching way too much

Disney Channel, these are the songs that kind

of permeated into my skull But I mean the episode

was was decent but the song Is is what made me

seven take notice because it? Pops up in my head.

area the innuendos I like I like the running

gags that starts from day one, you know, there's

the Where's Perry? What you doing? Yeah, the

different sports evil jingle, you know Oh, what

are we gonna, you know, I know what we're gonna

do today. You know, all these things that they

kind of throw in very early and then they just

stick and it gets to the point where if it doesn't

happen in an episode you feel cheated. It's like,

you know, and it gets, on the one hand, it's

like, man, doesn't this get monotonous after

a while? But on the other hand, if it doesn't

happen, if there was an episode where you didn't

get what you're doing by somebody, anybody, It's

just not or if it's not oh there Anybody because

Isabella might come to your house and well, well,

you know, sometimes it's it's Isabella and sometimes

it's it's Candice once I think once it was kind

of once it was once it was Buford Buford exactly

exactly, you know, so someone they change it

up sometimes but someone's got to say it And

oh there you are Perry, you know things like

that these things have these are story beats

that have to happen in every episode But you

grow to love it. That's that's part of the charm

Yeah, that's what I like For me overall looking

at the whole season after we've gone through

the last 26 days Looking at it and looking back

on it and having watched all these cartoons now

again and talked about them What I love really

is how They go to great lengths to give character

growth and not really like unless it's you know

full -on Hey, we want you to see it They don't

always show you the character to like the characters

have grow like Candice is probably the most developed

character as the season progresses as you know

She's learned several lessons throughout this

and you actually had mentioned in one of the

episodes one of the days episodes one of the

on the podcast is like Is that gonna be a theme

now? Are we gonna start? You know having Candice

learn a lesson every episode and that's that's

just one thing that they added to it that I that

I enjoy Anytime norms around doesn't matter what

like norm could be drilling wouldn't even matter.

I'm drilling Yeah, I'm Norm. Look, it's... Hi,

my name is Norm. It's Norm the Minotaur! Like

I said earlier in this episode, if we could have

a YouTube series with just Norm, that would be

epic and awesome. I'd watch it. I would watch

it and I'd pirate it and show all my friends.

Okay, maybe not pirate pirate's a strong term

since it's on free cable, but you know, you get

the idea. Yeah. Yeah Yeah Least things about

season one Some of the character stuff is I don't

know going back and watching it all again. I

don't know Some of it's really really great and

other parts it just kinda slows down a little

too much for me. What else didn't I like? Some

of the songs really get annoying. Not all of

them, but some of them do. Okay. Some of them

just don't hit right for you? Yeah, and some

of the episodes. I know of at least one episode

that... I will never watch again, ever. And that

would be Jerk to Soleil. I can't think of other

ones that I said that about, but Jerk to Soleil

is the one with the circ. Right, right. I just

didn't rub me the right way. What least favorite

things or any negative things overall about Season

1 for you? Well, you know, there are just a few...

Few missed opportunities like out to launch out

to launch was fun But but it seemed to me like

they missed a lot of pop culture references particularly

to like Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica things

like that where Star Trek, you know where they

could have made a lot more Culturally reference

job culture culture reference. Yeah. Yeah Because

they culturally referential as well as trying

to get out. But yeah, I mean they could have

made a lot more nods toward toward science fiction

and You know in granted, you know, this kind

of laid the groundwork for an actual Star Wars

episode that came out later Mm -hmm, but I want

my Star Wars references now, you know, I Want

I want that's no moon, you know That's what I

want to hear The Magnificent Few, you know, it

introduces Vanessa, but I just couldn't get behind

that one. I mean, maybe I have no interest whatsoever

in cows or cowboys. I'm sure somebody does. Someone

likes this episode. You know, episodes in general

where I just don't identify like the F games.

I'm not a sports guy. I just can't get behind

it, you know? um what else uh like anything where

the the boys are camping with the grandparents

i hate camping and i don't particularly like

uh that set of grandparents as characters i just

don't well grandpa clied and grandma betty joe

they're awesome i can't i can't buy it you know

i'm sorry come on grandpa clied he's got the

best color commentating fuchsia What was the

color? No, no No, no, no, that was that was anti.

Oh God anti dis and pleasure. I I don't even

know. Yeah. Yeah. I remember that. Okay. Yeah,

exactly Yeah, so yeah, I mean, you know, there's

some fun moments there, but I I have trouble

with those characters and finally I dislike episodes

where the A story and the B story don't mesh

very well. That's another one of those things

that's like the running gag that has to happen

in order for an episode to be good. But and a

lot of times they nail it. Yeah, you've got Phineas

and Ferb doing something and Peridot Platypus

and Doofenshmirtz are doing something and the

way that their stories mesh in such a way where

at the end it's kind of a satisfying end to both

of them. Mm -hmm where let's say an inator destroys

whatever the boys built so they don't get caught

or Whatever the boys built ends up Going away

somewhere. I don't know but When they when they

mesh well, it works and you go wow, that's amazing

I really like the storytelling here when they

don't mesh well or in at least one case. They

don't mesh at all It's just threw me off so much.

I'm like, I don't even like this episode Something

wrong here. I can't deal with it Yeah, like ballerama

drama since you're not a bowling fan just Just

not a bowling fan. I like bowling even my high

score something like 67. I can't go Good bowling

At least average a 150 and I haven't pulled in

15 years I'm a terrible bowler. I just can't

I can't throw a straight ball. You know, like

I said, my kids beat me. They get bumpers. If

I had bumpers, I would rule, man. Yeah, yeah.

All right, favorite characters from season one,

characters from season one that I can name off

the top of my head. Obviously, Phineas and Ferb,

Candice, Mom, Dad, both sets of grandparents,

Isabella, Buford, Beljeet. Dr. D major monogram

Carl Vanessa Norm, this is all of them. They're

like all of them. So I don't like No, no, I'm

saying random guy number one. Oh, no. No, I was

saying I feel the wire really like him Oh, I'm

not saying I'm listing the characters so you

can say which one Oh Fritz, I haven't, no, that's

not my list. Okay, good. I was listing them from

memory of who the characters that are introduced

to us in Season 1 outside of things. Okay, so

there's that. I'm sorry that was a miscommunication.

Yeah. What we have here is a failure to communicate.

To communicate. So, you can guess who my favorite

character is. Norm norm Norm I like norm. I like

it when Vanessa shows up. I especially like it

when Vanessa sings. Yeah, I Really like agent

P even though he doesn't actually say anything

I mean, I I would watch I'd watch you know agent

if they could pull just the agent P bits out

where he's just like Ducking into trash cans

or trees or secret compartments or whatever Just

just those little that little gag, you know where

he ducks into a tube and disappears If they could

just put all those into one movie, I'd watch

it Set to the agent P soundtrack. Do we do? You

know, I would I would love that And honestly,

you know Are we gonna talk about least favorite

characters or are we just gonna go with characters

we like? No, we can talk about least favorites.

That's fine. All right. Well, let's go I mean,

I I don't want to say I don't want to put Phineas

and Ferb on the list of characters that I dislike

but You know, they're the main characters, but

for me they just kind of facilitate the story

and I almost don't feel as if there's a lot of

care when we talk about character growth with

Candice's character or with Doofenshmirtz's character,

you know Even to a certain extent with Carl's

character because later on he he really grows

as a character You don't see a whole lot of that

with the boys Right there. They're just there

to go I know we're gonna do today and then they

set their stuff in motion And they and they kind

of step out of the way for the story to happen

Well, yeah, but they also have the story happen

around them like what's they're still there,

you know, but yeah Yeah, I just like like what's

the one good scar to do you? For what scared

you the most? Definitely the giant floating baby

head. Yeah, where did that come from anyway?

Did they come from? You know? You know, it's

fun to see the you know, interstitial characters

like the floating baby head or the zebra Well,

I want to call him Kevin the zebra even though

his name is not Kevin His name is not Kevin.

He is calling Candice Kevin. I still want to

call him Kevin If he's not named if he doesn't

actually have a name, I'd like to name him other

recurring characters like the The henpecked husband

Right. It's like, you know, you can't just expect

a rabbit for him to fall out of the sky. There

it is And he's like ha ha you were saying, you

know, I that those guys are fun to see but It's

not golf and miniature it's miniature golf Yeah,

I mean they have a you know multitude of these

side characters that they They introduced and

then there's like characters that you don't expect

to be main characters like they introduce Buford

But they don't give him a name. He's just there

and he says he's got a line or two But and it's

like maybe a couple episodes later. It's like

oh, he's Buford. He's the bully you know, and

then it's like alright, well, that's that's kind

of a A single shade of his character because

the more they use them the more it's like wow.

He's actually an interesting type of person And

then you take that in context with his, you know,

with his relationship with Belcheat. And it's

like, well, he doesn't dislike Belcheat. I mean,

they're, they're actually friends. He's just,

but because he's the bully character, you know,

you know, he, he picks them up and uses them

as a, as a mallet. I'll take Shrimpy. I am honored.

Shrimpy is honored. Exactly. And then Beljeet

even gets a few lines in on Buford a few times

where you know in in Greece lightning he's like

Come my husky friend. We must think of an idea.

We must use my head. Yes. That's right. Use your

head And then you know sparks go flying down

the street You know the guy's got an axe on his

forehead you gotta use it for something In grace

lightning, I love Phineas's line Wheel spikes,

why did we give them all the good stuff? What

do we have? Six cup holders. That's awesome,

Ferb. Cup holders. I was going to say coffee

maker, but no, it would be like a hot chocolate

maker. We have a hot chocolate dispenser. I guess

that counts. That actually will come later in

Christmas vacation. There you go. Leave, I think.

All the best ideas. Yeah, I don't know. Least

favorite stuff for me, I'm trying to think, least

favorite characters... It's not necessarily I

dislike the characters, it's sometimes when I

just don't think that a certain character should

have done that or said that. Okay. Or something

like that. Sometimes it's Candice. Really? Yeah,

sometimes. I think Candice have possibly done

that you wouldn't have liked. I'm trying to think.

Oh, um... Oh, I can't think now. Damn it. Okay.

It's like Doof, you know, made up my mind for

me with his makeup, his mind -donator, and I

just can't think anymore. Uh... Sometimes I find

Doof, and I know he is supposed to be this way,

but I find him very awkward, like... He is supposed

to be that way, yeah. Yeah, I know he's supposed

to be that way, but... You know, um... Other

than that, I really can't think of any least

favorite types of things. You know who I hate?

Who do you hate? Susie. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Just

like Susie. Yeah, there's one episode of the

entire series that I... absolutely love Susie

and that's an episode called Suddenly Susie.

That's the episode where Doof has this giant,

uh, he's, he's gonna, his plan is, you know,

everybody's always talking about reducing their

carbon footprint. Well, he has a giant carbon

footprint that he's going to put all over the

Tri -State area. And the finished and first Candice

in that episode is Susie trying to teach Candice

how to bust her brothers. And because Susie is

getting Candice in trouble and getting Candice

to, you know, you know, use a hose to squirt

herself or throw a pie at her or dip her in the

ice cream truck thing, whatever. But yeah, Susie

is a annoying little snot brain. Yeah, just,

you know, didn't like it. Django. You didn't

like Django? You know, I really think they could

excise Django from this series and and and it

wouldn't hurt any Well, he was only in he was

only prominently starred in one episode oil on

Candace I mean he would show he shows up in the

background in various things Yeah, but then exactly

he shows up for the background and it's like

why is Django here? What the heck? Wait, what's

up with that? They could have gone with anybody.

It's Django. Sure. Why not? We didn't do Django.

I I want to say, didn't we mention it in the

episode where it's, I get the feeling like somebody

won a contest or something. And it's like, be

an Phineas and Ferb episode and it just happened

to be Django. I don't know if that ever really

happened, but okay. I've made it up and it exists

now. Oh boy. The magic of digital editing, folks.

That line is one of Isabella's lines, but it's

not from season one, but it's just one of those

lines I always remember. I think it's from Phineas'

birthday clip -o -rama. All right, anything else?

What was the line? What are we talking about?

Isabella, the magic of digital editing. It's

the episode where they do the birthday clip -o

-rama where they're going to do, they have, you

know, it's where we meet Irving. And he has all

this footage of Phineas and Ferb's adventures

and Candice wants the footage to bust them, but

Yeah Anything else on season one before we take

a break and go to the closing? No, I think we've

talked enough No his name I didn't say his name

was Kevin. I'm just gonna tweet at Dan Pavanmire

and ask what the damn zebra's name, because the

Wikipedia says it's an unnamed zebra, so if there

is a zebra's name, I'm gonna ask Dan Pavanmire,

so you'll shut up about the damn name zebra,

and if there is no name, we can ask him if you

can name him, but you can't name him Kevin, because

that's what calls Candice. You know what? You

know, I had a friend named Kevin, and he had

friends named Kevin, and he called them Kevin

all the time. Yeah, that was still his name though.

But did your friend Kevin get home left home

alone by his parents? all the time On that note
