About this Episode

Mike and PecanCtMichael discuss two episodes of Phineas and Ferb: 'Boyfriend from 27000 BC' and 'Voyage to the Bottom of Buford'. They analyze the plot involving a thawed-out caveman, Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s scheme to remove sandwich costumes, and Buford’s emotional journey to recover his goldfish, Biff. The hosts share their reactions to the humor, the lack of montages, and their overall ratings for each episode.

Women and children and the faint of heart may

wish to leave now because what up I got a big

conk Record faster Don't ever say that again

I'm the conk of the walk Sean Connery? No? I'm

the conk of the walk. Just go to hell, Trebek.

Indiana Jones is dead. Or giving a monkey a shower!

Surfing tidal waves, creating nanobots, or locating

Frankenstein's brain! Finding a dodo bird, painting

a continent, or driving our sister insane! As

you can see, there's a whole lot of stuff to

do before school starts this fall! So stick with

us, cause Phineas and Ferb are gonna do it all!

So stick with us, cause - Hello and welcome to

the podcast organization without a cool acronym

also known as Pauka I am one of your own Steve

Jordan Mike. Joining me is Pecan Court Michael.

Hello. Hey, how's it going? Yeah, it's going

it is day 19 folks and day 19 has us talking

about cavemen and Something about a voyage to

the bottom of Buford. I just It's a voyage to

Buford's bottom The only thing I want to know

about Buford is how many musical instruments

he has in his arsenal. That's all I care about

when it comes to Buford. Where was he keeping

that? I don't know. Where is he keeping that?

voice the bottom of Buford and the boyfriend

from 27000 BC yeah yeah so that's what's coming

up today on palco we're gonna get to conk and

his epic sandwich after this Forget your brothers

remember Jeremy right Jeremy sandwiches true

love your house Let's get around and see what's

what All right, let's see Jurassic pretacious

plasticine. Oh, here's Paleolithic down here

on the end Your persistence is insufferable.

And by that, I mean completely sufferable. You're

just in time, though, to watch me rid the tri

-state area of one of my biggest pet peeves.

People who dress as sandwiches to promote restaurants.

You see? You see what I mean? What is this? Are

you a person or your food? For some reason, I

don't mind the taco guy so much. Look at this

cute little hat. Anyway, the whole thing stickens

me to no end, which is why I created the Sandwich

Suit Removinator! Alright folks so any of you

who have seen our episode on iTunes or blog talk

radio here for day 19 Or on the website geocasterinter

.com the episode title like I would I always

try to make the episode title short for the podcast

post because Steve generally doesn't like long

ones, so I wasn't sure if I'm so sorry That just

didn't sound right No! Stop! And who does, to

be honest? I mean... They've given a choice,

you know. Okay, so... Short titles. Way to go,

right? Either the episode is going to be titled

Conk Hungry or Epic Sandwich. I haven't decided

yet as of the recording. Or Hungry for Conk.

No. You've got conked on the face. I got conked

on the head, that's why. Yeah, sure you did.

I did. Okay, so boyfriend from 27 ,000 BC. Phineas

and Ferb go in search of a caveman while Candice

attends Stacey's costume party. Meanwhile, Dr.

Doofenshmirtz wants to get rid of sandwich costumes.

Still not taking over the Tri -State area. That's

the joke. We've both been complaining about this

for the last 18 days. We understand that's the

joke, that technically he's never going to take

over the Tri -State area, but at least he should

have schemes that get him close to doing that

goal. At least an evil scheme. This doesn't seem

that evil. No, he hates his schemes are well

Like everything most humans do they're based

off emotion But his schemes are based off his

emotion or his hatred or his indifference or

or what whatever and it's like I I hate people

in sandwich costumes Something I don't really

mind the taco guy with his cute little. I don't

like me. I say you do. Oh my god Oh my god Doofenshmirtz

is Donald Trump in Reverse Donald Trump wants

to put us all in sandwich suits. No, nevermind.

I'm confused. Just nevermind. All right. So the

yes, yes, we do moments. She starts cackling

at the end. I've become my mother. Yeah They

ask Well, just think of all the things we can

do with the caveman silence and it's not even

the first You know outside of politics I really

can't think of anything make any sense to me

at all the whole episode I was like, I don't

know what's going on here. I I Don't get it.

I mean honestly if you're gonna go full -on like

Barney Rubble, dig up Barney Rubble, man. I mean,

don't give us Conk and have him act like a modern

human. I don't think at this point in time, and

I don't think that, well, it's all Warner Brothers

now, so yeah, at this point in time, Disney could

not have bought Hanna -Barbera, so I don't think

Warner Brothers and Disney would have allowed...

Barney Rubble to be in the show, sadly. It would've

been cool. It would've been cool. I could've,

I would've believed that. Many of them for Flintstones

special, why not? Yeah. Well, no, because, you

know, they totally went full on copyright infringement

with Candace. If you can have Candace dressed

as Pebbles, I don't see why... He was totally

full on Pebbles. I don't see why you can't have

Barney Rubble thawed out of the ice. Yeah, she

kind of was pebble -like, wasn't she? She was

a tall pebbles. I mean, honestly, I, you know,

I thought she looked kind of good as pebbles.

I mean, she didn't look candidcy. Almost couldn't

tell. Because she changed her hair. She changed

her hair and all that. Different hair, yeah.

All I can think of is... Hair bones or something.

Yeah, hair bones, yeah. All those I can think

of is she is... Candice is the pebbles of the

Phineas and Furbian forests, except she has a

Crude of Crayon penciled in. Yeah, the Crude

of Crayon. You know, she didn't look as Crude

of Crayon -ish with the bone and the hair. I'm

not sure what hair bone is in French, so I can't

complete the analogy. That's uh, but yeah, I

was I was like, you know, if you can have pebbles

here, why can't you have a More for all you know,

maybe maybe just maybe uh -huh. The caveman was

supposed to be Fred Flintstone He did look kind

of Now he didn't really look very Fred Flintstone.

No, he wasn't very Fred Fred never had a beard.

So I just didn't like the caveman There's the

problem. No, I love conk conks awesome. When

did they dig a caveman? When they what when did

they dig up a caveman? Is there like we're gonna

go dig up blah blah blah and Candice is getting

ready for her party and next thing you know Oh,

hey, here's this huge block of ice with a caveman

in it Did you miss that part? I must have they

go to the Danville glacier and they say Jurassic

Krista. Oh, here's Paleolithic on the end and

Yeah, they go to the glacier I must have wildly

scribed notes at that point because I don't remember

that in fact at the end of the episode I was

thinking why is there a giant glacier in Danville?

Like yeah, like this Titanic action going on

here with this huge huge Glacier glaciers the

word I'm looking for right uh... yeah uh... i

was i was trying to iceberg this is what's going

on i swear you know i started and you know they're

in the middle of town there's no let us know

why is that there that makes absolutely no i

didn't catch the scene earlier where they were

to go visit it and take up a yeah and i swear

you know yet they basically so the general gist

of danville in the tri -state area is they make

it is i guess uh... as ambiguous as possible.

It's kind of like Springfield with the Simpsons.

We don't know exactly which Springfield the Springfield

Simpsons live in, because isn't it in the movie

or whatever they say, oh, well, the four states

that Springfield borders, you know, Virginia,

Illinois, Kentucky, and Nevada, or whatever it

was that they said. So basically the same thing

with the tri -state area in Danville. They're

basically saying that Hey, this could be anywhere

in the USA including Alaska including Alaska

because the because there's four states in Alaska

No There's there's the state of next to Russia

the state of I can see Russia from my house The

state of kind of close to Russia the state of

I can throw a rock and hit Russia So I am basically

they don't really give you an exact area. I mean,

you know, you look at the very first episode

where Doofenshmirtz is like, oh, I'm going to

put tin foil on the entire Eastern seaboard,

you know, and then they show part of a coastal,

they show part of the, you know, New York City

or wherever else in roller coaster. So to me,

it's like, yeah, I can see your point of, oh,

why is there a glacier in Danville, but there's

everything in Danville. It's the everything town,

it's got everything. Okay, sure. I don't know.

Yeah, alright. So... There was a party here somewhere,

wasn't there? I'm not really... Yeah, Stacy's

costume party for some odd... Why is she having

a costume party? It's nobody's birthday as far

as... I don't know. Maybe it's Halloween. No,

it's not Halloween, it's still the middle of

summer. Oh yeah, okay, so... You know, a costume

party, middle of summer, as one does. Yes. Oh,

wait a minute. You know what? Was Jeremy dressed

as Fred Flinson? He was dressed as it was. Was

there a leopard tie? Yeah. i don't know i'd have

to go back and take a picture i'm not sure uh...

this is not the most memorable episode uh...

i love this is a hard time remembering how this

way i was not be memorable for you but i love

this episode uh... as it was awesome uh... what

is so funny about this is that once conk is awakened

and he's hungry and he wants his sandwiches or

else he ends up uh... Going into the kitchen

and so he starts eating the sandwiches off of

Candice's sandwich platter And she assumes that

it's Jeremy because Jeremy said he was gonna

dress up as a caveman, right? She takes him to

the party and as Stacy Jeremy and Ken is in Germany.

You guys are all matchy. Oh, that's so nice and

so they go into the party and I guess because

he's a caveman This is where the logic defies

me. Apparently cavemen don't like techno music

as he destroys the stereo All right, then and

then And then Jeremy show Jeremy calls her and

says, oh, I'm running a little late. Oh Running

late and then she flashes back to oh you you

should meet our friend. He's a real neanderthal

And he has inferred. This is all their fault

clearly clearly clear I was just Aggravated fit

the whole thing. Well, how do I how do the enderthals

know how to tip -toe? You know, you don't like

tip -toeing, you know, I'm like, why is he sneaking

around neanderthals don't sneak. Yeah And he's

tip -toeing across the lawn. I Yeah, anyway,

that's my that's that's my Part that I didn't

like I think a lot of this I said like I'm sure

that I'm missing something. There's references

to previous movies Like there's a movie. I want

to think I want to say it's called Iceman where

they dig up their scientists and they dig up

a Neanderthal in the ice and they thaw them out

and They keep them in a research. Sure isn't

seno, man. Well, this was nothing like his seno,

man Polly sure would have showed up Maybe this

would have been redeemed in my eyes. It would

have been a redeeming factor here. You gotta

admit, the B story falling back into the A story

was pretty ironic though. Come on now. Doofenshmirtz

hates the giant sandwich suits and then he ends

up becoming a giant sandwich suit and then Conk

just chases after him. Epic sandwich! Ah, you

know, one Weezing the Juice line would have saved

this for me, I think. One Weezing the Juice?

Oh, Weezing the Juice! I'm sure there was some

sort of weird caveman references here that I

just didn't catch. And, you know, when I get

the references, I go, ha ha ha, I like that,

that's funny. But I don't catch the references

and like, rrr. Sad face. Yeah. Just like that.

Oh, yeah. The one thing I noticed about this

episode without having to look at the wiki is

that this is a Candice and Jeremy story without

Susie interfering at all. All right. They weren't

at his house, though. They were at Sacy's house.

No, but, yeah, still, they were in the park when

they did the roller derby stuff. You know. All

right. Yeah, yeah. You know, anytime Susie's

with him, she's always fighting for his attention.

And I don't remember, this is one thing I don't

remember, I don't think they did. They don't

really say anything about Susie where she is

or what she's doing in the episode. They just

assume, they just lead us to assume that Jeremy

and Candice are going to go to this costume party

at Stacey's. I think it was the first time we've

seen Stacey's house inside and out. Uh, maybe.

Yeah. It was kind of cool. Perhaps. All right,

what are you gonna rate this one? I I'm probably

gonna give it a two You know the the one memorable

line I'm pretty sure it's Candice. She says you're

gonna get it. I say get what she goes. It's it

Yeah, I get it That made me giggle another sandwich.

I'd like one now, please That's right Yeah, all

right. Yeah, so that you know, I like that line,

but the rest was kind of forgettable You know

and considering that I watched the watch this

a few days ago You know, it's it must have been

really not very memorable because I don't remember

most of it My notes are not helping me at all.

I mean, I know you're a family man You get a

wife and two kids and you do all kinds of activities

you're working nine to five day job and all that

stuff But I watch these episodes the day we record

So that way it's super fresh in my mind. I just

don't have enough time like tonight we yeah,

we took the boys to Gavin had a baseball game

and of course it went an extra inning They're

all supposed to be five innings And we get an

extra one, so by the time we get home, I'm putting

the kids to bed. By the time the kids are in

bed by eight, I actually watched an episode of

Phineas and Ferb with them, so they didn't go

to bed until like 30. So it's like, I mean, because

I like watching it with them, but at the same

time, it's like, man, there's just not enough

time, especially now on Wednesdays. Baseball

will be over soon, but still, it's... It's a

lot going on Nothing, I'm complaining. I'm just

saying He's complaining folks now. Well, yeah

Bob Buford the last note I had was WTF did I

just watch? What the Ferb that I just did I just

want yeah, so moving right along This is the

life The sand, the sea, the sun, the cry? Hey,

what's wrong, Buford? Why are you crying? First,

let's get one thing straight. I'm not crying.

I'm just sweating through my eyes. And second,

I lost Biff. You mean your goldfish? Yes. He

changed my life, you know. I used to be a wimp,

like you. But then one day, at the carnival,

I was somehow drawn to this game. And that's

how I won my goldfish. I named it Biff after

my mother. It was the happiest day of my life!

I finally had a friend. But then I met the local

bully. Hello, nerd! Well, well! What have we

here? Looks like you brought me lunch! I knew

I had to defend my friend, so I did what I had

to do. After that, I became the bully, and I

wasn't afraid of anything or anybody, except,

you know, maybe a giant squid, because, come

on, those are freaky, right? All suction, cuppy,

and beaky! Alright, it is time to head to the

voyage... voyage to the bottom of Buford. Phineas

and Ferb help Buford find his goldfish, Biff.

Meanwhile... A good deed causes doofen schmertz

nothing but trouble. I'm sorry, Buford's scary

when he's emotional. He just cries, cries and

cries. Yeah, and he always wants hugs. Come on,

give me a hug. Bring it in here. What bothers

me here, you know, we just brought this up in

the last episode here for some reason. There's

no Suzy. You know what Buford's afraid of? Susie

Susie. I've seen things man terrible things Yeah,

but no mention of Susie here You're here. He's

afraid of a giant squid Yep, and as soon as he

mentions that I'm like, there's gonna be a giant

squid Or a giant squid dressed as Susie No, this

would have been awesome. No, no, no. Yes So it's

interesting here, and they do this a couple of

times with doof and schmertz, but they do the

whole defecting to the good side thing here.

And I send them a gift basket and, oh, thank

you for defect. I'm not defecting to the good

side. You do one thing and it just ruins the

rest of your life. He didn't even really do it

on purpose. It wasn't like he was actively trying

to save the kitten He just ready to fall and

ended up catching the damn thing trip Just falls

into his arms, you know Welcome to the Internet

The Internet is forever. Yes. Yes it is. Oh Let's

see. What else? Yeah this like I would rather

watch Boyfriend from 27 ,000 BC again then watch

this one again. This one is one that I just really

I just Okay Buford as a goldfish named Biff and

if that's stolen by a giant squid You know without

the DeLorean and and all that and everything

else. Well, you know why they named him Biff

Biff tannin He says he says I named him Biff

after my mother That was the best line. I named

it Biff after my mother. Like, oh yeah, as one

does, right? Yeah. I do like Ferb's line, though,

because he's like, wow, we put that together

fairly quick. Yeah, it usually takes us at least

a montage. At least a montage. I like the montages.

No, I like them too, but Phineas is referencing

the fact that it it's usually a montage. Yeah

Well, yeah fervor is referencing that fact Yeah,

but Phineas is saying that wow we put this together

fast We were cheated out of a montage is what

we're saying. Yeah. Yeah, I expected a montage,

but this was montage less There was a dearth

of montages Please, stop. Put your dictionary

away. Leave the thesaurus in the other office.

I have multiple thesauri. The plural of thesaurus

is thesauri. And if not, then I just made up

a new word. Yes, yes you did. What else did or

didn't you like about this one? They're using

a giant sub? to find Buford's fish, as one does,

because this makes the most sense. I was surprised

that they all didn't get like diving suits or

something. They could just go walk around and

find the fish. Well, they do that once they get

down there. Yeah, I mean, the sub had to serve

some sort of purpose, though. It was a way for

Candace to... Take the pictures. Oh, I guess

cuz she sneaks a board Yeah, okay sure yeah,

I'll buy that I Guess that makes a lot of sense

Buford gets a forever alone montage You know,

we don't get enough a montage of building the

sub but we get an entire montage of Buford basically

being lonely it's kind of like a You know, have

you ever seen those? What's it? What are they

called? It's like Garfield without Garfield strips

Where they take Garfield comics and they strip

out all of the Garfield lines So it's basically

Garfield's owner talking to himself Poor John

poor John. Yeah, it's like forever alone John,

you know Garfield gave John a Dear John letter.

Anyway, but that's what that reminded me of here

is this like Buford going about his daily activities,

talking to an animal that will never talk back

to him. Yep. I really was just waiting for a

flux capacitor to show up because the fish's

name is Biff. 1 .21 gigaflops. 1 .21, 1 .21 gigawatts?

What the hell is a gigawatt? That's funny. They

have the media erasinator. Yep. And, you know,

that never works out. He tries that again, Lo.

Not that exact. He tries the... later that the

word falls the trips to the bathroom or something

storey goes roller skating in the bathroom this

video is ruining my life uh... uh... uh... uh...

uh... uh... uh... uh... uh... uh... uh... uh...

uh... uh... uh... uh... uh... uh... uh... uh...

uh... What are you gonna give Voyage to the bottom

of Buford oh Probably well, you know This sucks

I want to give it like a three because I kind

of thought it was average and I thought it was

a little bit better than boyfriend from 20 ,000

27 ,000 BC 27 27 ,000 BC Try not to go back in

time on your way to the parking lot and there

was a giant squid so you get a little bonus point

for that uh giant giant squid battle like a boss

fight at the end it's too bad hot rod didn't

show up with a saw hand nobody nobody had a saw

hand in this episode which is a shame I was waiting

for Buford to have a peg leg for some odd reason.

A pirate's peg leg. Lose a leg to the giant squid?

I don't know. Is this white whale? Essentially,

yeah. So rating for this one? Let's go with three.

All right, same here. Yeah, I mean like... Buford's

the bully like and and obviously it's Disney

Channel. It's it's Dan Pavan Meyer Swampy Marsh.

They're not gonna sit here and they They're not

gonna push the bullying thing or no bullying

on the audience But at the same time we know

his character his character is a bully and yes

while bullies are You know often emotional wrecks

on the inside. I just don't feel like this was

I didn't see the moments where Butte like I didn't

want to laugh at Beaufort when he's crying over

his fish I was really uncomfortable that the

bully the guy who was supposed to be bullying

everybody else is sitting there, you know crying

a river Nile and in Danville, I mean sure It

just felt weird to me. I don't know. It makes

you feel a little uncomfortable, huh? Yep, pretty

much All right, we're gonna take a quick break

come back with final thoughts and all that other

good stuff after this Morning agent P. We've

intercepted some very surprising footage from

a local TV station You see that? Dr. Doofenshmirtz

saving a kitten. Looks like he's defecting to
