Mega Man Episodes 7-9 Review
About this Episode
Dr. Wiley says we will not take over the world
unless we are listening to pixels in the animation
pixels in the animation this is episode 49 I
am your host TF2 and Mike joining me is TV's
Mr. Neil. Fight for everlasting peace. Or a gov
stopper. It's Megaman 2 ending. Oh. He said or
a gov stopper what the hell? And of course we
have Steve Megatron hello. Hello. Another week
another dose of Mega Man you guys ready for this.
Oh It's ready as will ever be Come on now. It's
not as bad as some of the other crap. We've covered
in the past Thank God put your gobstoppers away
cherry heads or better Okay folks, we're gonna
get to the episodes after this. Maybe he's learning
a little too much. Up first we have 20 ,000 Leaks
Under the Sea. This was written by Martin Pascoe,
or Pascoe, however you want to say it. October
23rd, 1994 was the air date. Dr. Wiley attacks
an underwater mining operation and then tries
to get rid of Dr. Light and Mega Man with a fake
laboratory that turns out to be a mobile prison
dun dun dun. You mean a giant at -at walker underwater?
Pretty much, yeah. Pretty much It was cool seeing
dive man, but I completely forgot about like
when wave man showed up I'm like whoa wait two
water bots at the same episode Rush as a sub
is awesome Let's see thank God role was never
in any of the games. Oh my god cuz She leaves
to go help them She's flying it. God knows how
fast of a speed she hits that water. She would
have been dead She wouldn't have just gone underwater.
She the oh I Know it's cartoon logic, but well,
she's also a robot. So she doesn't die. I know
I know but well She could die if the thing exploded
Better than before no just no I thought the underwater
animation was pretty awesome in this episode
because technically most of the episode does
come Does happen underwater for the most part
and I thought it was pretty good It's nitpick
time when they're having the underwater battle
when the water rush in when proto man open the
door to the skullcopter Because it happens when
Mega Man opens the door to leave the the prison
And this is one of those episodes and this actually
happened a while ago with a different With an
actual animated movie. It kind of gave me a false
sense of ending at first It was like, oh, yeah,
everything's fine. Then I look at the counter
and like, oh no, I still have 15 minutes left
What the hell is going on here? Um Neil thoughts
I I'm not entirely sure what you're referring
to, but the episode, I thought overall it was
one of the better animated episodes of the series
thus far. I mean, there haven't been any coloring
mistakes in this cartoon, which I noticed in
like almost every cartoon. And the few mistakes
I do see are usually like derpy eyes on Mega
Man, but this episode was animated particularly
well, so I got to give it props. I wasn't really
looking for continuity errors. Probably should
be because that's what I've been doing the whole
time on cartoons, but I mean it was it was an
okay episode it was I thought that the the battery
draining on on Mega Man was kind of I Don't know
cliche. I guess Just cuz it see he seemed to
drain very quickly. He's like, oh no, I'm out
of energy and then like five minutes later He's
asleep. Oh Yeah, but I think the only reason
why they did that was so they could actually
use Eddie and have Waspinator in there as well.
Because Eddie's voice is the same as Waspinator
since it is Scott McNeil. And Mega Man can drink
his energy drink. I think I've figured out what
that is. It's robot spinach. Alright, anyone
that has musical skills out there, I want you
to modify the 1994 Mega Man theme song to...
No, not modify. I want you to mash it up with
Popeye the Sailor Man and see what you get. Oh,
Lord. Alright, Steve, what did you think for
this one? I don't want to see the legend of Jar
Jar Binks with Annette Walkers in Mega Man. I
mean, I'm just I'm just being brutally honest
here. It's it was like watching Star Wars attacking
Mega Man Yeah, I can see that why did they make
episode one after Mega Man we ran out of ideas
What would you rate this one Steve like a one
Really well, I'm gonna do I just okay Neil I'll
give it a three it was kind of silly, but if
the animation makes up for it yeah, I'm gonna
give it a three and a half like like Neil said
the animation does make up for it and the plot
may be stupid as hell, but It's dr. Wiley. He
never really has any really good super genius
moments. I mean hell with Wile E. Coyote falling
off a cliff is more of a super genius moment
than Dr. Wile E. has ever had, really. So, we're
gonna get to the next episode after this. Hurry
up, Rush. And bring the right parts this time.
Looks like you got everything but the kitchen
sink. Huh? We'd better check out that alarm.
Hey, what about me? Why, these robots are destroying
the Smithsonian Museum. We'll stop them! folks
up next is the incredible shrinking mega man
written by Gary Greenfield October 30th 1994
was the air date dr. Wiley steals three gems
from a museum and uses them to shrink major cities
and mega man done done done I have to say you
know Steve mentioned I think it was was it last
week that you there was one episode which you
really remembered you know, watching it as a
kid. This is the one episode I remember as a
14 -year -old watching this show. The Incredible
Shrinking Mega Man. Because it was Rush versus
the lady's little dog there. You know, I mean,
yeah, sure, this might be this is your standard
villain, shrinks the hero or shrinks the cities
and then sells them, but... This episode was
just fun for me And I truly think this is where
Arnold stole his idea from because the the gems
are the power source. Oh boy And then I felt
like okay, so this is either mr. Freeze from
Batman and Robin or Rick Moranis from honey I
shrunk the kids But it was kind of awesome seeing
the baton tons right Neil Well, they're accurate
yeah, that's good, they're not off color or different,
you know, they're not pink and purple It's almost
it's almost as bad as like Mario like Mario villains
there with those The Baton Tons. Looks like Marty
McFly was right. That shark still looks fake.
Tiny shark. Yeah, poor shark. What do you got,
Neil? I gotta call it, I think this was a G .I.
Joe episode, wasn't it? Or at the very least,
the plot of the third Ninja Turtles video game
on the NES. I swear I've seen this before. A
super villain shrinks a city or the nation's
capital, one other or the both, and decides to
auction them off to rich criminals for some reason.
There must be like a Rolodex of like Cartoon
plots that like every studio uses at least every
studio in the 90s used it and I Honestly think
this is a plot that even miles mayhem of venom
and mask use too. I wouldn't doubt it Steve thoughts
They've done this before in other series. I do
think it's funny the incredible shrinking Mega
Man is a play on the incredible shrinking woman,
but No, I mean the animation is pretty good overall
and then some of the effects that they did with
Mega Man and you know him take control of a car
while he's like miniature size or I think it
would have been funnier if they changed his voice
while he was little Yeah, they don't squeak here
like From a distance, but when you're up close
to them, it's normal. Or make them sound like
the Mega Man 8 version of Mega Man. Or make them
sound like the Captain N version. No! That's
it. You're kicked off this podcast. What the
hell's wrong with you? Little scrunched up Mega
Man. Mega High! Get me a roll! Oh my god. Oh
wow, Steve, what are you gonna rate this one?
I'll give it a 3. Neil? I'll give it a 3. I keep
giving it these 3s, but you know, it's like,
they're both not spectacular and yet not offensive.
They're just kind of in the middle, kind of funny.
So, yeah. I'm gonna give this one a 4. Like I
said, I really enjoyed it. I love all the tricks
that they pulled while Mega Man and Rush were
small. I Love the old lady's reaction when they
pull the wig off I just I Wish there was some
sort of confrontation between rush and her dog
though like I mean they they kind of skirt around
that issue but nothing really ever happens with
it, but I guess they couldn't they didn't have
time to do that, but um Alright folks. We're
gonna move on to the final episode of the day.
We'll be back after this Don't worry we can play
with them when we get to Geneva We'll have plenty
of time to settle into our hotel and relax before
the International Science Conference begins tomorrow.
I'm pretty relaxed right now. Did I say something
about being relaxed? Where did they come from?
Wouldn't you like to know? We're coming for you,
Bill Cleeb! I can't use my plasma cannon in here.
Too dangerous! Transfer written by Richard Merwin.
Airdate November 6 1994. Dr. Light and Mega Man
roll in rush fly to a conference and encounter
Dr. Wiley's robots on the airplane along the
way. Turns out Wiley has built transport chambers
capable of somehow transferring circuits from
one robot to another. Mega Man gets swapped into
Snake Man's body and has to save the world in
that form. Oh lord. I really like this one, but
just reading that description just... I don't
know. It's really nice to see Snake Man. And
then the old couple when Mega Man gets on the
tour bus. This is more fun than sightseeing!
Oh lord. Mega snakes. Oh no, and then you mentioned
it. I think it was last week suffering circuits
suffering cyborgs It's like it's like hey, we're
Sylvester somebody called they they have your
catchphrase here But no again, this is another
one of those episodes that I really love I I
was never sure about some of these because of
the titles Look at the title and I'm like, oh
no, what is this gonna be and then I watch and
I'm like, oh, of course I remember this one I
really like this one. I think it was interesting.
I think it's interesting that they do something
that probably was well, I Guess in the games
technically Mega Man switches bodies with everybody
since he always is changing colors depending
on what weapon is attached to him but they never
really did anything like this in the games of
actually physically switching the personalities
of the robots what about you neil would you like
or not like about this one well i think it should
be a rule that if you're if you're in a nineties
cartoon and you run into a character you've never
seen before it's either a the villain in disguise
b someone who's working for the villain or c
a robot That's what also works for the villain.
It never comes out good. And so naturally Mega
Man's like, oh, here's this character I've never
met before. I'm going to follow him. And oops,
I got tricked into turning into Snake Man. Yeah,
I think it would have been more fun if Mega Man
and Roll had switched bodies. I think. Oh, I
think the Internet would have loved that. Oh,
the Internet is that. Oh. it's it's not rule
34 that I forget no but there is a rule oh my
god that's so crazy Steve thoughts um I enjoyed
it because it was it kind of reminded me the
Lex Luthor flash episode of Justice League mm
-hmm yep villain and hero body, hero and villain
body. Then everybody's like, I hate you, you're
evil, get away from me. And then they're like,
why is someone so acting weird? And then it just
dumbfounds me that they're like, they don't even
know who they're friends with based on the personality.
And I like that this tube miraculously also teleports
people. Well, I see that's this thing I didn't
remember it's like their Urkel machine Yeah,
they put them in they they put in a robot. They
change his body. They put in a robot. They change
his body Well see the thing with me is I thought
they were actually transporters like you know
like like Star Trek and they were at first until
Dr. Wiley revealed the hidden talent of them
or the alternate or the super secret code to
do have them do something else uh... what would
you rate this one steve i'll give it about three
same thing three once again not great not an
offensive so right in the middle for me this
is another one that i remember as a kid sort
of uh... and i do really like how mega man adapts
to being in Stinkman's body, so I'm gonna give
it a four. I really dug it. I thought it was
interesting. I thought it was pretty cool, so
We are gonna take a quick break come back with
final thoughts and close the show after this

episodes into the series. Anything really stand
out for you, Neil? Not as of yet. It's just kind
of in the middle. It's just a cartoon. I'm not
angry at it like I was at the Mario Kart. I'm
not raving about it. It's just kind of... I could
watch it. Are there any to this point without
actually looking to see where are there any Mega
Man? Robot Masters that you really want to see
in the series to this point that we haven't seen
Well, the two I want to see are not gonna be
in it, which are Clashman and Flashman or is
it Clashman or Crash? I don't know but those
those two guys Mega Man too, but I know they're
not gonna be in it. What about you Steve? Nothing
really stands out yet. But I know that they will
come. You're just waiting for the X Factor, we
know. I don't like the X Factor, I like Mega
Man X. Get it right. What about villains? I'm
pretty indifferent on them. It doesn't really
matter to me I as long as It's a halfway decent
villain that's being paired I don't care like
I mean it's it's it works some of them are obviously
weaker than others like Captain earthquake and
bricks brick shit house I just I don't care for
them or captain balls Crystal man So, I mean
it's it's it's one of those I don't really care
for those types but like when you get to like
snake man or Bomb man or some of those other
guys that that show up. It's I I don't mind them
as much I Wish bright man would show up again.
