About this Episode

TFG1Mike and Revolt Dan revisit the 2012 Judge Dredd starring Karl Urban, comparing it to Stallone's 1995 version and examining how this darker take stays truer to the comics. They discuss the film's simple but effective plot structure, Urban's stoic performance, the heavy use of slow-motion violence, and why it got buried at the box office alongside The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers. Both hosts rate it 3.5 stars—a solid action film that knows what it is.

Hello and welcome to M wire movie weekend review.

I am one of your Steve John Mike. Joining me

is movie role Dan Hello, how's it going? It's

going. How are you? I'm doing fine. I'm doing

fine. How about yourself? Pretty good. Pretty

good Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to be

traveling back to 1995 to talk about the man

who always says I am the law No, I'm sorry. We're

actually here in episode 112 of M. Wire to talk

about the 2012 Judge dread but I think it's only

fair that we at least here in the beginning of

the show bring up the Stallone version since

That was the one that had been for a long time.

It took them Almost 20 years to make another

one 20 years to get out of that awful shadow

that that cast. Oh, come on now Come on now.

Maybe judge judge dread from 1995 is classic

90s cheese. Come on uh cheese is a good word

classic i'm not sure about i mean it's classic

cheese i mean classically bad yeah but uh i mean

it's so bad it's good i could i could understand

that like that that aspect of it um but it's

it's like yeah i could see having fun watching

it but it's a pretty bad movie you know It's

one of those movies where I was still in the

era of I want, like before the movie would come

out, the movie novelization would come out, kind

of like what we have today with like prequel

comics and that kind of thing. But for those

of you who are too young to remember, a movie

novelization, ladies and gentlemen, is an actual

prose written book. about what said movie would

have been about a little bit later. Some of the

movie novelizations on certain films take some

license and add some things that actually aren't

in the movie. And I remember the Judge Dredd

book being something that was written by Oli

Meyer's point of view at first in certain points.

I think at the beginning and the ending he's

kind of narrating. So there is that. I still

look back on Judge Dredd and Sylvester Stallone

as Judge Dredd It was either that or Stopper

My Mom Will Shoot. I mean, I would say I'd put

Demolition of Man above both of those. No, no,

no, no. I'm saying is like as far as movies that

are so bad, they're good. Oh, well, his bad movies,

his bad movies. It's either Judge Dredd or Stopper

My Mom Will Shoot. But his his good movies obviously

outweigh his bad movies. But yeah, so that's

where I'm you know, where I think Dan and I are

both kind of coming from this. Neither one of

us have read the two thousand in the AD comic.

I have not read any of the IDW. I know IDW is

doing a Judge Dredd comic right now. I have not

read that. So we have pretty much just seen the

films. In the 2012 Judge Dredd stars Bones himself,

Dr. McCoy. I always have to make that joke. I'm

sorry. It's so strange when they cast these people

sometimes. Carl Irvin looks great, but I just

ever since 2009 Star Trek, it's like, hey, that's

Dr. Bones. What's he doing in the judge's uniform?

Did you see this in theaters? I did see it in

theaters. I was one of the few that saw it in

theaters. Yeah, I did not see it in theaters.

I waited for Redbox and all that good stuff.

Surprisingly, I believe this movie is more in

line with the comics than obviously the other

one was. That that is what I believe I mean I

know the big thing that sticks with the comics

that you know Stallone's didn't the fact that

he keeps the helmet on the entire time Which

was I know it was a sticking point for a lot

of comic fans that you know Stallone barely wore

the helmet except for like the beginning of it

because you know Stallone doesn't like hiding

his face Yeah, that's you know to quote the Miz

from WWE that's his moneymaker so Yeah, no, I

liked Dread for the different take. I was hoping

it would have done better financially because

I kind of like the universe that they set up

here with him never taking off the helmet and

with the psychic and all this and all that. I

think the only thing for me is it's a little

bit too gory. It's just from my personal taste

There's a little bit too much violence that this

kind of reminds me of Punisher war zone with

Ray Stevenson. Yeah, even though the violence

in that is more over the top than this It's still

you know, the effects and the blood and Whatever

else kind of reminds me of that. So we're gonna

take a quick break and then we're gonna get into

spoiler filled thoughts after this. Makes the

brain feel as if time is passing at one percent.

It's normal speed You know how often we get a

judge up in peace trees Well, you got one now

Somewhere in this block or two judges rookie

you ready? I want him dead We're gonna have to

go through him If we play this right, we can

take the whole city. I belong. Judgment time.

Let's finish this. The sentence is death. the

following recording contains many plot spoilers

if you have not seen the movie being discussed

please go see the movie before listening if not

you have been warned and now on with the show

all right ladies and gentlemen we are back and

as the spoiler warning said if you haven't seen

this movie by now oh well Let me ask you Dan.

What what were your initial thoughts after seeing

like the first couple of trailers of of the film?

Were you excited for it? Were you interested?

Were you disinterested? I was Hesitant just because

it's you know, you're making thread I don't know

and the plot of them I think film for dreaded

the unfortunate thing that happened with that

and film is earlier the same year the movie the

raid came out and The plot is very similar. Obviously.

It's just a matter of coincidence because they're

not really no to not really that much different,

you know, the idea of just basically climbing

up this building to try to get to someone and

same thing as the raid which came out was hugely

successful and now you're trying to... Almost

do it in a different form, but I thought it looked

fantastic. I thought like the graphics wise And

I thought like okay. This looks more like the

dread we've been asking for When I first saw

some of the images from it like they showed like

Carl urban and in the head and the helmet and

whatnot It looked a little bit shaky, but after

seeing the trailer I'm like this might be better

than I expected and so I was like yeah, you know

it It whet my appetite, but I was a little still

worried because it's still Judge Dredd at the

end of the day and it's not a character I really

ever cared about. Right, right. For me, when

I first saw it, I was really interested. I thought

it was going to be really, really cool. Again,

it was a little darker than I was used to. I

wasn't saying that I, I'm not saying here that

I wanted them to go back to the Stallone dread

because obviously that wouldn't have worked.

No. Just like it kind of didn't work 20 years

ago. Um, but I mean, I am glad that they did

pay homage and kind of, you know, give the fans

what they wanted from, you know, the comic series

and make it, make it darker. I just think for

me with the, with the effects and stuff, it was

a little bit too. Like not my style Overall movies

plot is is very interesting very cool I love

the action in it. I don't know how much acting

was done in this movie though. I mean Judge dread

is not a character where like this is why I kind

of want to lean towards Stallone as far as the

character goes because He acted a little bit

more. Of course, that story was very different.

But like Judge Dredd in this, he's cold calculating.

He basically has no personality whatsoever. I

think that very much goes in line with what they're

doing here. I mean, you're talking about the

violence and stuff like that, but I think the

entire purpose of this film and like to just

take it on service value, I think is unfair because

I think that it's meant to be overly violent.

It's it's not necessarily meant to just be taken

out like. How they give it to you, I think call

it urban in this in this role I would say he's

trillion times ahead of what? Stallone does because

the thing that he understands that Sloan doesn't

he understands the character and it fits the

character It's that archetype of the class classic

Clint Eastwood. You can definitely see a little

bit of dirty Harry in there It's taking that

character and like representing it in this form

and showing the good and the bad and I don't

know to me His presence was so much superior

to that with Stallone and Tony even a question

of who's better at that character. Stallone was

just being Stallone, and here you get someone

who embodies what makes Judge Dredd work. He

is the human robocop that's all judge and jury.

He really nails that. That never came across

with Stallone, the violence or having that streak.

It didn't really work with him in that movie,

but here I think it buys it. You can tell that

Carl Urban Does feel like a character who you

know is a badass and he will not stop until He

gets to his objective and he will not be intimidated.

I never got that with Stallone. So I thought

I mean the only person I had issues with with

acting wise was was Nina Headley who played mama

who was like the main villain character in in

the movie I like her. I mean, she's you know,

a lot of people know her from her role in Game

of Thrones, which I think she is Definitely good

at but here. I just thought she was just a little

bit over -the -top I never really bothered like

for like where I saw the car urban certainly

was intimidating her I never got that she's like

this woman a man -hating Violent woman and I

just it never felt real to me. I always put on

I thought of all the characters. She was the

least interesting and the least effective Yeah,

I mean this isn't yes she is that hate to say

this I know I know you compare this to the raid

but to me not you know don't count this as a

mark against the darkness of the movie because

that's what it needed and that's what it was

but to me honestly this is basically Judge Dredd

versus a female skinny Donkey Kong he's basically

climbing ladders to get to To the end boss and

it's like The fight between the two of them isn't

even written. I mean it's a fight but It just

takes too damn long to get there. See, I don't

I don't know if I necessarily agree with that

I like the simplistic nature of the plot and

him Yeah, like him fighting her is never gonna

be a fight. It's just the like the Obstacles

that get put in this way. What I think this movie

does really well too is that even though it's

a reboot It never tries to give you an origin

story. It just puts you in this world where it's

like, here we are, and we'll figure out how things

go as we watch the film. They introduce a lot.

We have this psychic character, and we don't

really get a complete understanding of how that

works until we really see it in action. I like

the simplistic of the plot where it's like, this

is their situation, and you could easily make

this into the TV episode, but this is just done

really well. To me, this is what I wish more

reboots would do this, where they're not relying

on over -the -top plotting, but just well -developed

action. You have a clear motivation and clear

objective, and it's just about getting to that

objective and putting more clever obstacles in

that path, which was very much like the raid

was. The raid was pretty much action from here

to start. Is there a lot of plot? No. Is there

character development? Not necessarily, which

is where the story is weak. But personally, I'd

rather for a film of this type of nature, I'd

rather have that than one that's overly plotting

and another origin story. So I appreciate the

route that they took. Right, I just yeah, I mean

and I agree with that I'm just saying you know

just thinking of what this general plot could

have been basically he goes floor to floor Eventually

trying to get to her. That's sadly the first

thing I thought of was doggy calm Well, I didn't

see many barrels though. I mean like okay. No

there wasn't a lot of barrels Mean I like the

what I do like about how the plot is structured

and how the story is structured is it It is floor

-to -floor making your way up a Skyscraper I

kind of like that because really this building

in mega city one is an entire Lifestyle this

isn't just apartment buildings. This is they

have a medical center. They have groceries to

I mean this building is its own sustaining community

yeah and I love that about it I thought that

was a really interesting versus just having you

know General Zod throws Superman all over New

York City it's just one of those things where

that to me that part of the story and plot was

kind of cool because you never know what you're

going to get at the same time. It still felt

like a giant video game. Yeah, I mean, very much.

It does have a lot of video game feel just with

even like the use of Judge Dredd's gun. And I

mean, it doesn't use a lot of first person shots,

but you could easily could have. But yeah, I

mean, the good thing about the setup, though,

is that a lot of action films have a struggle

with creating progression with the action. Just

things happen here and there for no... Current

reason but just based upon the structure here

where you know, okay, we need to get up these

stairs The progression is kind of pulled into

itself, which is allows it to kind of you know

grow and become more interesting But yeah, I

do I do agree. There's a lot of you can see a

lot of influences from video games and all over

the place Especially with like the slow -mo shots

That they did which I will say in in the theater

like they're I'm I can take early 3d Some movies

I think it works wonderful like, you know, Life

of Pi And Avatar a few others gravity 3d was

very effective and I would actually put dread

when seeing it in theaters The 3d was also effective

because you have those slow -mo scenes which

look fantastic in 3d But seeing it like on a

small screen or seeing it outside of that context

I don't think they work nearly as well and they're

a little bit overly indulgent at times where

it's like, okay I think by the fourth time they've

kind of gone into this slow mo it just you kind

of are enough already. Let's kind of let's stop

it but seeing it in its full effect where Within

that flame framework of 3d. It was far more effective

So I think that was a one benefit of seeing in

the theater was you could see how that actually

was supposed to be saw Yeah, since it really

took advantage of the 3d format Absolutely Now

honestly, you know, I mean I don't okay. Well

unless I use that little known Wide local should

say widely known Internet secret of sharing someone

else's HBO go. I don't watch Game of Thrones

It's not a show for me. I'm not really that interested

in it So this is my first time seeing Lena Headley

or heady or whatever name is, you know in this

character The rest of the cast I know none of

them Other than and the only reason why I even

know Karl Urban obviously is because of you know

Star Trek in 2009 He's also in Lord of the Rings

Too much fantasy not enough space battle Yeah,

I mean I know Carl urban there was oh What's

his name from the wire was in there as well?

He was one of the one of the kid the main thugs

in the beginning the one that gets captured I

can't think of his actual name at the top of

my head But yeah, it's it's a relatively like

small name cast. I mean literally color Carl

urban is probably the most recognizable name

You know, everyone else is just kind of character

actors or or what have you. Not that's a bad

thing, but you can definitely tell this was a

movie not built on budget. I mean, most of the

budget went to the special effects, not necessarily

the casting. But besides, you know, Hetty, if

I keep saying your name wrong. I mean, I thought

everybody else was fine, like his partner, Olivia.

Thoroughly who you know was played Anderson like

his psychic partner. I thought she was rather

effective At the the conceit of her having to

take off her helmet because her psychic powers

what have you you can tell that's mostly because

they wanted us to be able to Identify what she

looked like, but I thought she was pretty good

at unfortunately. I haven't really seen her much

lately either But besides that I don't know.

What did you think of the cast overall besides

though? Like the cast overall, I think it's an

interesting cast. I just I Just don't know a

lot of you know what I mean. It's like I haven't

seen a lot of them elsewhere That's the thing

Yeah, I like his partner as well. And now that

you mentioned the whole helmet thing. I'm like,

hey look, it's Magneto's daughter Because well

because you said she has to take the helmet off

for her powers to work. Well Magneto puts the

helmet on so And everyone in the world knows

this, I'm not breaking any spoiler news here.

Everyone knows that Magneto created the helmets

to block Charles from being able to access his

mind. So it's like, wow, so many alliterations

in this movie. Well, the one person you probably

do know is the one I was talking about, Wood

Harris. Have you seen Remember the Titans, that

movie? A long time ago. OK. He's one of the main

stars in that as well. But yeah, he's the...

Probably the only I'd say like the third most

recognizable person in the film. Oh, that's right

He was in above the rim. I remember that now

and as good as it gets huh interesting You know,

you know, oh wow, he's supposed to be an ant

man. Oh my god Who the hell is he gonna play

an ant man? Overall, I think the cast worked.

I think what they were more focused on, as far

as the writers and producers, and this is just

my own, you know, assumption is, they were more

focused on the story being about Dredd and his

partner and their, you know, going up to, you

know, mamas and... and stopping her. I think

it was more a focus on that than it was to have

any other characters included. Yes, there are

characters in the film, obviously. But to me,

you know, going back and re -watching it on Netflix,

I just felt that half of the cast, half of the

rest of the cast are all extras. Just in the

sense of how the story plays out, because your

focus is Dredd and his partner. Yeah, which I

think is I think it's fine I mean there you have

a some smaller more sent out roles you have to

do to use like handling the security system who

becomes somewhat of a sympathetic figure and

And whatnot, but yeah, it's a really isolated

film. That's really just on those those main

guys and everyone else is just like, you know,

they're sympathetic and not sympathetic but the

quintessential wet red shirts from you know from

Star Trek they just kind of they're there to

die and then go away and then more people come

up to get killed and Then you have like the,

you know, the other dread or the other judges

that show up. And, you know, you kind of just

get even within this small world, you know, this

isolated story, you get an idea of what the entire

world is like just by the corruption and how

easy it is to buy off dread judges and how unshocked

dread is when he when he finds out that these

judges are not on his side. So I think there

are a little hints there that kind of expand

the scope but overall it is like you said just

These dudes need to get to the top of the building

and that's a pretty much the essential the The

basic element of the entire plot Yeah, I think

I would have liked I mean I enjoyed the movie.

I really really did I don't really I'm not gonna

really say anything too negative about it But

I think it would have added a little bit more

or would have been able to not necessarily automatically

set up a sequel, but I think it would have been

a little bit better if they had somehow some

way transitioned to and kind of made light of

why all these judges are corrupted and how that,

you know, how mega city one became what it is.

Like even if it was just in like, you know, A

minute and a half of monologue at the beginning

of the movie and then obviously focus on dread

You get a little bit in the beginning where you

know explains that the majority of the world

cities and like how you know It's it's it's corrupt

and poverty. You don't get a huge amount of that

Like you said, I mean it wouldn't wouldn't hurt

it for sure I don't think if it had a little

bit more exposition But I mean, I think that

would come at a cost because then it's like do

you get too much of that? I don't know. I never

There's never for me a time where I was like,

OK, I don't understand why people are doing certain

things about the motivations are for the most

part clear and basic. I mean, it seems like the

the judges that do turn were just out there for

money. And I think that's to me enough in this

for this type of movie. Yeah. Is it would you

does this lead itself to a sequel? Not necessarily.

But it kind of I think maybe they were on. sure

what the success would be like. So they kind

of played it both sides where this could be the

beginning of something or it could be its own

standalone film. And I know people have been

chiming for a sequel, but based upon its performance,

I think that's highly unlikely, at least to get

it naturally on the scale of this film. Yeah.

And let's face it, this movie didn't even make

its budget. It made 41 million the it came 4

million shy of even making its budget back. Yeah

It's a good movie for Judge Dredd fans and for

fans of the comic. It's a really really good

movie And it's a nice little action movie that

came out of 2012 a year that had a slew of action

films not to mention Dark Knight Rises and all

the other stuff that came out that year that

little movie called the Avengers So yeah, yeah

that that that one billion dollar movie called

the Avengers You know and as far as Carl Urban

goes I mean I want to see him in more stuff.

I mean I'm looking at his filmography here and

Before honestly before Star Trek not counting

Lord of the Rings because those are not my movies

I don't even remember him in the born supremacy.

I guess i'm gonna have to watch that again. He

is one of the the I don't know assassins like

the evil agents He's the guy who is chasing down

born in that right? He actually does a pretty

good job in that. I mean It's certainly he's

had some smart. He was decent in uh red. He had

a small part in that um, but yeah, I mean, I

think he He's big in the geek world. I know a

lot of, you know, geeks like him and he had that

show last year, Almost Human, which I think a

lot of people, I never watched it, but I know

there were some people who enjoyed it, but just

never got, got enough attention. And he seems

to be the king of doing things that geeks like,

but some reason get canceled. He's like the new

Nathan Fillion. Like you can't find something

that lasts. A lot of people love it, but not

enough for it to continue. So except for Lord

of the Rings, which he was only like a small

part of. So yeah. Oh my god, he was in the TV

series for White Fang. Not because of him, but

because they made a TV series out of that movie.

He played the wolves. Yeah, that's true. Supposedly,

later this year he's going to have short poppies

as a TV series. He's going to have a cameo in

that. And then this year he had the Loft. the

wonder which is in pre -production so I mean

like I said I like him I think where I like him

the best though is these two this role and Leonard

McCoy yeah certainly a talented actor I think

he's got a career that's gonna you know definitely

Go on I'd love to see him get involved with someone

like marvel or warner brothers or something get

in get into a part where You know more people

can see him. Obviously star trek's a huge fandom

and and he's playing an important part there

But I do think that he I don't know. I like him

a lot and I like to see him in more things. So

Absolutely, absolutely Do you think What would

you like after having seen this movie? What would

you like to see them do with a sequel if one

was ever done? That's a good question. I I guess

like you mentioned maybe expanded upon and seeing

what else the world was like getting Getting

into the crew maybe more so than the corruption

of the dread force and where that comes from

I'd like honestly or even just another simple

story like this it could be like he has a procedural

or story of trying to stop something to happen

I think with a we have a world like this. It's

like so expansive and such like You can be overly

complicated with it. I think keep it simple and

maybe just something simple like maybe If you

look at the the reboot that came out year this

year like railroad comp and what don't do what

that did and try to do way too much in one movie

just Just expand upon these characters like for

future adventures with car urban and his partner

and you can kind of see where they come from

maybe retribution from the people who made this

building um talking about like We related I related

this lot to the original raid the raid and this

year. We had a sequel to the raid which Expanded

and was outside of the universe of just going

upside a building. It was actually a full -blown

plot and I Think learned some lessons from that

movie where it got too involved and the plot

wasn't that interesting. So just keep it simple

You know, you can maybe even take some of the

elements from the move the first film and maybe

just update a little bit where you do have some

sort of like arch nemesis or something like that

that could match him because that's the one thing

I think this movie was missing was a Foe that

could go toe -to -toe with Karl Urban So it'd

be nice to see that in an upcoming film if that

ever happens Absolutely for me, I would want

to see something where You have you know kind

of something like that I would love to see like,

you know an all -out gang war in mega city or

like see something where all like what is it

i know there's at least two mega cities i think

there's three total i'm not looking at the information

folks so i i don't know um maybe like world war

mega city or something like that where we see

dread has to stop a giant gang war in each city

or something or i think that's kind of what Probably

the only negative I have about the film is it's

too self -contained that the That it's just this

one building and in this one building. There's

everything you'd ever need I kind of wanted to

see him in the streets and you know Stomping

crime that way. Yeah, you get that maybe you

get that one little thing in the beginning Yeah,

the car chase which was well handled what's kind

of interesting is that that was actually Carl

Erwin on them on the motorcycles and I think

kind of talking about like the world itself.

I think it was a good idea where the first rate

or the first race used the first judge red milk

movie kind of that It was too flashy and too

right like the with the flying cars and whatnot

I think this one did a little bit better where

it's really grimy and you know The mortar it's

still a motorcycle and the technologies that

has improved but not necessarily for the better

And it feels like a world you really didn't want

to be in like what if the future went wrong?

So I I think that I not knowing what the comics

like but based upon the tone of the film I think

it really hits it well on that angle. So Yep,

and then Apparently as of a week ago IGN reported

that this month it was announced that Threads

executive producer Adi Shankar was producing

an unofficial spin -off online series based on

the Dark Judges that would be released later

this month. So it's going to be interesting to

see what happens with that. The Dark Judges line,

just looking at this, recurring villains in the

Judge Threads science fiction comic strip in

the UK comics, 2000 AD. They also appear in the

2003 computer game, Judge Dredd, Dredd vs. Death.

So, I remember listening to the Untitled Mike

and Laura project and they were talking about

the Dark Judges and I would be interested to

see what they do, you know, kind of going along

the thing with, you know, what you said about

having an adversary for him and if these are,

you know, evil judges, you know, it kind of...

At least for me is like judge dread one man who

can make a difference You know Dread overall

it's an enjoyable movie. It's not one that I

could watch more than once or twice every now

and then yeah, I mean it's it's I don't know

like I it's a film for me if I could probably

Depending if I see it on TV depending on what

moments it's on. It's I think it's a easily It's

an easy rewatch because it's just because of

its structure. You don't really it's You can

kind of pop it on I personally don't rewatch

movies a great deal to begin with but uh Yeah,

I mean it's on netflix and I don't know since

i've I own it too if that says anything, but

uh Like since i've owned it and I saw it on theaters.

I think i've watched it besides for this podcast

just twice So yeah, it's a good movie. It's it's

a solid It's I think the best thing about it

is that it's so much better than the previous

and it it kind of shows you I what you can do

with remakes like i'd rather them remake movies

like dread which had a possibility being going

but wasn't but then also you see why they don't

do that because they try to remake a bad movie

and people don't want to see it because they

associate with a bad movie so it's it's you know

you're damned if you do you damn if you don't

i guess pretty much pretty much all right folks

coming up uh... later this month in uh... on

m wire here uh... i believe dan and myself and

possibly steve megatron are going to be doing

a halloween movie this year and we're going to

be talking about batman himself uh... michael

keaton as beetlejuice so that's what's coming

up on m wire we're gonna take a quick ad break

come back with uh... final reading, and we'll

close the show out after this. Now for a behind

-the -scenes look at GeekCast Radio Network's

newest show, Talking in Circles. So, Chuck, Greg,

what are you guys thinking for this week's show?

Well, Dan, how about we just talk about the things

that we've read or watched this week? We do reviews

like that every week, Chuck. How about a game

like Factor Fiction or The Power of Names? Those

are great and we're always coming up with new

ideas for games. And how about some top fives?

You know how I love my top fives. What about

tournament style brackets or sequel reboot and

destroy, who will win in a fight, taking too

far, crazy but true news or... Yes, it appears

we have lots of things to work on. Listen to

we are back here on M wire. What are you going

to rate it on the GCR and universal rating scale?

0 to 5 stars sir. I would give it a 3 .5. Which

is liked it. Like I said, it's a it's a well

-made B movie. It's not Going to trying to be

anything fantastic. It knows what it is and it

doesn't go beyond that So the solid film solid

action film. So yeah, I give it a 3 .5 I'm right

there with you three point five as well for me

i i didn't i did like it i didn't enjoy it it

didn't like below my mind it didn't really set

anything up for like future films or anything

like that i think it's probably one of the only

films that doesn't use the end credit scene for

anything i don't even think there was one um...

because we've got to do a whole episode of m

wire on just the fact of an end credit scene

this whole notion of that but uh... You know,

I liked it. It was a little too violent for me

in places. I do hope that they do that series

or that online series that I was talking about

earlier and see what that's like. Who knows?

Maybe the fans will demand a sequel in a couple

of years from now, but with everything coming

out... the next couple of years I And you know,

it's like when you said earlier. Yeah a little

movie called Avengers If you think about it dread

was pretty buried in 2012 Yeah, it of all the

comic book movies are probably definitely you

know had the least amount of buzz going into

it when you have Dark Knight Rises Amazing Spider

-Man and Avengers Avengers, it's hard to kind

of compete with those but now we've seen I would

know lesser films get Get sequels before it's

happened and it's not it's not completely unheard

of and if they ever make a sequel I think it'd

be really like I said like really Pair down and

not nearly as expansive as this was I mean you

probably see the budget cut in half and whatnot,

but uh, you know if It gained speed it did really

well, even though it didn't do well in theaters.

It did well On like demand and through DVD and

rentals and whatnot. So sometimes people see

that and think okay Well, maybe we can make a

sequel. So I think hope isn't completely lost

but it's it's nearly there Alright, you got anything

you want to pimp out before we get out of here?

Oh, no I mean all you can see my stuff in geocastradio

it. But anyway, keep those film reels rolling
