About this Episode

The hosts discuss the 2011 Thundercats series, criticizing its repetitive storytelling and Cartoon Network's lack of promotion. They also share their thoughts on recent Hasbro policies regarding third-party merchandise, the impact of copyright enforcement on fan creators and retailers, and the ongoing confusion surrounding third-party figure production.

Hey everybody, Bumblebee here and you're watching

Optobotamus. Now I can't even hear Bob. What?

Oh, OK, there you are. I just wanted to make

sure you were here, dumbass. I turned the headphones

down a little bit. Is that better? Yeah, that's

fine. Treefitty. I gave him that treefitty. Do

I sound better because I'm on the computer and

not on my tablet? Oh, yes. Yeah, you sound better

today, Bob. Yeah, this is like the professional

thing that I do for radios and whatnot. Yeah.

that's so much better okay off the bottom this

would actually buy an actual microphone instead

of using webcam mics you dumbass here go to tools

where is it go to tools go to options go to audio

settings and it should say microphone select

microphone and then you can select between whatever

microphone sources well we can't hear you fuckface

i'm so putting this in the show too it's like

we are talking to paul and then he's typing Autumus

Variety Hour, now with technical difficulties.

You worthless piece of... ...nast. Oh god. I'm

offended. Did you figure it out yet, Paul? Oh,

can you hear me? Barely. Barely. Yeah, now we

can hear you, you loud -ass homo. Because I was

yelling. I don't know why I don't... This...

This sucks. Hold on. I have to actually turn

my web camera on in order for it to be picking

up audio. It just doesn't automatically do it.

Yeah, that's the thing with webcams. The camera

has to be on for the camera. Blah, blah, blah.

The camera has to be on. Blah, blah, blah. Go

get your Xbox headset. Go get your Xbox headset.

Honestly, seriously, someone used a... A PS3

headset. No, well, PS3. A rock band headset.

And it worked out great. It's so funny. I think

if I have one of those. His rock band headset

worked better than the professional audio equipment

that was gifted to him worth $180. A $20 rock

band mic worked better than a $180 mixing board.

Well, you're gay. All gay people live in California.

They live in, well, yeah. Just not in my part

of California. Well, you're about three hours

south of it. I'm a lot further than that. San

Francisco is the gay place. That's what I said.

You're about three hours south from San Francisco.

Yeah, San Francisco is like six hours, you tard.

What do you know about California? You don't

know shit. I know the governor was the governor.

Oh my god. It was so funny. We're sitting there

We went to a Universal on Monday me and me and

other buddies of mine, you know And we went to

go see Terminator 2 3d and it's absolutely terrible

I mean, it's a good show, but because it came

out in like 96 I think The 3d on it is absolutely

atrocious by today's standards I can see why

like people in the early days would get like

headaches from it because it was terrible so

we're sitting there right the whole time and

it's it's a mixture between 3d and you know all

that kind of stuff with actually Arnold Schwarzenegger

and what I can't remember the guys name the kid

um So, so there's a mixture between, you know,

that and then there's live action, you know,

where there's like a stunt double that is dressed

up like Arnold running through the audience and

stuff. It's really kind of cool. And when he

came by us, it was so funny. Me, me, me, Megatron,

the Mexibotamus, and Nestor were all sitting

there. And, like, we were sitting on the edge.

I thought Ness didn't go. Not Ness, not Ness,

um, Manny. I don't think you guys are aware,

know really who Manny is. So we're sitting there,

right, and we're on the far left edge of the

auditorium, and literally right next to us is

the aisle where the actor playing Arnold Schwarzenegger

and Edward Furlong, they're running up and down

the aisle right next to us. We just start screaming

in our most ridiculous, obnoxious, loud tone,

get through the chopper! Get through the chopper!

It's not even the right movie. We're just screaming

it obnoxiously because we're like we can't even

pay attention to this because it's so bad Yeah,

I saw that in Universal, Florida back in 98 and

it was cool back then but I could see how it

could be outdated now You know the thing I looked

up while we were in line the the the universal

one in Florida opened first That was the first

one to open and then like three years later 1999

is when California got it. So by that point in

time, it's already like a three -year -old thing,

and it's already starting to look bad. Now here

we're in 2012, and it's just absolutely terrible.

Oh, it's so bad. Hi, Bob. Bob? Hello. Hi, Bob.

Hi. Poor Bob. How are you? How are you doing?

I'm doing well. Bob's sitting there like, these

people are idiots, I swear to God. So in case

people haven't figured it out, this is Team Bottomless

episode 14. We have the captain, Optabottomus

himself here. The captain? Wow. Where's Tenille?

I was going to make a bad, you know, dead poet

society joke. Phone call from God. If it had

been collect, it would have been daring. Just

stop. Just stop. Before I let Paul and Kevin

and Slimeblower Bob go all over the place with

whatever they want to talk about, the Hasbro

stuff and everything else, which now, I want

people to know up front, the rage that's going

to happen in this episode about Hasbro... I AM

DISTRACTOR! We understand that... Hasn't since

reversed their ruling on the artist alley thing,

but we still have to rage about their stupidity

in the first place First thing I want to talk

about really quickly is thundercats the 2011

series blunder cats. I like that Kevin. It's

It's blunder to network is really what the fuck

it is blunder blunder cats blunder blunder cats

Here's the thing, everybody thinks, because,

and this is all Cartoon Network's fault, it's

not the writers' fault, it's not the creators'

fault, but hold on, hold on, I'm not talking

about the story of the fucking show. I'm talking

about the releases of the fucking show. The scheduling

and the releasing is all Cartoon Network's fucking

fault. The problem was, when they released episode

13, Brothers Keeper, Brothers whatever, the one

where Tigra and Lion -O jump into the... Astro

plane the problem is Cartoon Network dropped

the ball. They did not advertise. Hey, this is

only a season Break, this is not a season finale

It shows going on hiatus so we can suck George

Lucas's dick and put on Clone Wars and every

other fucking thing I've since looked up thundercats

2011 season 1 in itunes both of the episodes

that have aired the last two weeks are showing

up under season 1 thundercats got picked up for

104 episodes two seasons of 52 episodes each

well no no it got picked up that doesn't mean

that they have to air those though they could

still cancel them we'll see here's the thing

even though thundercats did not show at the uh

at the carge network up front as being a returning

show I'm thinking they are still going to air

at least the first 26 for season one. They're

airing them now on Saturday mornings at 930 AM

Eastern, which I did not know about that when

it came back on March 24th. I was like, oh wait,

Thundercats was on. I totally missed it because

I started watching Cartoon Network with Green

Lantern and Young Justice. So people were all

confused about is this season one, season two,

whatever else. I've checked four different sources,

even though some of them aren't the most legitimate

of sources, but as long as Wikipedia cites stuff,

I don't mind using Wikipedia. Wikipedia says

that it is still in season one. There is no mention

in the Wikipedia article for season two. The

iTunes store. I mean, it's fucking iTunes. They're

not going to release something that says... It's

still in season one. Hopefully the remaining

episodes will be aired at least through 26. If

they don't air the other 26 episodes for a full,

you know, two seasons of 52 episodes total, hey,

fine, whatever. I don't know, Paul wants to bitch

about the stories and how there's no character

development with Lion -O, where they keep...

Essentially, Lion -O... It's not even that they

don't have character development. It's the fact

that they keep recycling the exact same themes

over and over again, that Lion -O is a terrible

leader, that he doesn't learn anything, that

he runs in head first without thinking about

it. They keep showing the same thing over and

over and over again, and it's become dull. It's

stupid, and... If that's the reason why they

keep putting the show on hiatus, I can't blame

Cartoon Network. I mean, it's terrible writing.

Right. And I agree with you to a certain point.

What I am blaming Cartoon Network on is not really

the fact of the story being the problem of the

hiatus, is the fact that they did not inform...

I've seen maybe one ad saying that Thundercats

was coming back. one ad in the last six months

saying hey it's coming back this weekend or you

know there's been no advertising for it whatsoever

so that is all on Cartoon Network and I do agree

with you to a certain extent essentially you

know Lionel in the 2011 Thundercats series is

the Shia La Bitch Dark of the Moon because they

give him character and then they take it away

they give him character they take it away it's

like yeah it's like I mean it all started from

the very beginning From the very be - I mean,

you had - I mean, you had the - I mean, I haven't

pulled up here, and you're right. The most recent

two episodes, Between Brothers and Trials of

Lionel, are still - they still download as part

of my Season 1 Thundercats Pass on iTunes. So

that - you're right about that. But ever since

the very beginning of - I'm trying to - I'm trying

to - I'm trying to look at the - the description

here. The description here. Because it's like

- I mean - Uh, oh omens one and two weren't bad.

Those were good stories, but it's like I'm trying

to think The fish story the fucking fish story

was stupid the oh, yeah Yeah, it's yeah. Yeah

exactly, which is just like Pirates of the Caribbean

BS. Well, I mean, it's not even that it's it's

Moby Dick It's the story of Moby Dick. But, you

know, I mean, ever since then, so episode three

is Lionel running in without thinking, he needs

to learn a lesson, blah, blah, blah. You know,

he needs to be patient. Okay, that's fine. Next

episode was Song of the Peddlers, or however

you say it. Same thing, needed to learn how to

be patient. You know, I mean, then we come to,

you know, the... The panthro introduction, which

was a little bit different, you know, that wasn't

too bad. But, you know, then - What the fuck

is a Sam -O -Flan? Well, yeah, that was just

nice by itself. You know. But then, you know,

then we kind of get into some stories and it's

okay. And then we come to the duelist and the

drifter, which I like that story, but it's the

same thing. You need to learn to be patient.

Then we come to the burbils. You need to learn

to be patient. Sight beyond sight. You need to

learn to be patient. It's the same story over

and over again. And I think the I think the Moby

Dick episode and the let's fight stuff with paper

episodes so far are my two most hated episodes.

The other thing I want to bring up is that the

other problem with it is shut up, Paul. Paper,

paper, paper, rip. The other problem is is Bandai.

Because every cartoon series now is reliant on

either a movie or a toy line or some sort of

other Merchandising to have it continue Bandai

First of all they started. Oh, we're gonna do

eight inches of classics toys. No, we're gonna

do seven. No, we're gonna do six No, we're gonna

go to nine. It's like how big is your dick already

bandai. What are you talking about nine? No,

I'm I'm I'm I'm ad libbing. Now you're just making

up stuff Poor Bob is sitting there, he's confused.

He doesn't know what you're talking about. We'll

get the stuff off of us. I've got to get this

off my chest so I can shut up and you guys can

take it over afterwards. So Bandai has released

all this stuff up to this point, but now they

had nothing at Toy Fair. And granted, Toy Fair

is more so for the companies. It's kind of like

a business meeting, even though they do let press

in and everything else. um they showed nothing

at toy fair they were dead silent anyone that

asked them any questions about hey when's new

thundercats coming up they had no you know it

was like you know just giving someone the silent

treatment for christ's sake so bandai has completely

dropped the ball on the fucking toy line so yeah

it doesn't look good for thundercats because

their toys suck They're really not that good.

They can't even stand up! Exactly! I have Mumra

that Paul sent me, actually, and he has to be

propped up against the wall because he cannot

stand on his own. Mine does the exact same thing.

I mean, did I post that video yet? I don't even

know if I posted that video yet. Yeah, you did.

I mean it's it's I mean I sat there and I felt

bad because it's like okay it's kind of sitting

there but I mean I literally you know since then

whenever I did it I have put it back on the shelf

and it's fallen over two times just because over

time it just starts leaning forward and then

plop it just falls and the same thing with pan

throw I mean and I remember it wasn't toy fair

it was something else it was like Like for some

reason MTV is like getting into toy reporting

or something and it was something on there. Yeah.

Yeah And it was something on their site where

they interviewed the Bandai people. And they're

like, what are you going to do with these figures?

Well, we're going to keep the classic figures

coming back. We're going to have some 8 -inch

ones still. But they're going to be more limited,

blah, blah, blah. And somebody else asked them

and said, well, what about these ugly joints

and how the pins on them are black and it completely

distracts from the rest of the color? And they're

like, we recognize that. We saw it. We're sorry

about it. We're going to fix it in our later

figures. And the later figures have come out

and they're not fixed. And it's I mean, I agree.

It's like they don't even care about it. And

it really kind of sucks. Like I said in my review

of Mumra, that they almost it's over articulated.

It's almost too much joints, too many joints

because it's just the feet like that. The ankles

are just useless. I mean, they don't lock in

a place or anything. They're just like free floating

and all the weight on the top. It just falls

over. Every time my kid walks by the shelf, it

falls over. Well, tell your kids to stop walking

by the shelf. Yeah, okay. Problem solved! Look

at that. Kids, stay outside for the rest of your

lives. What's the deal with Panthero and having

go -go gadget arms? Oh my god. That episode when

his arms are actually beating himself up is reminding

me of Inspector Gadget. Yeah, it's... I What

was that was that last week's episode of the

week? Yeah, we before for something like that.

It was with the scary little Stuffed animals.

Yes, the robot now the burbles. Yeah Now, okay.

I'm sitting here watching this and as soon as

I saw that I was like my mouth was just like

kind of like, huh? It's like drop and I'm like

what and then all of a sudden they introduced

the thundercat Thunder or the Thunder tank Winnebago,

and I'm like what are you guys doing now? You're

just getting ridiculous Since when did Rodimus

Prime have a place in Thundercats? At the rate

that this new Thundercats series is going it's

gonna be more hated than Rodimus Prime I thought

we were gonna see Clark Griswold get out of the

family truckster That would have been awesome.

If that was playing, when like Panther got out,

I probably would have jizzed my pants. Somebody

should do that video on YouTube. There's a match

right there. I'm not that creative though. It

would take me too long to figure out how to do

it. Yeah, I don't know if that song's copyrighted

or not, you know Get a few laughs out of it.

Yeah Get some laughs out of it. Yeah Everybody

was like, you know, hey pause like in that little

Ninja Turtles spoof thing that I did Put in like

the Ninja Turtles theme and then had it explode

because that would have been how Michael Bay

did it I'm like if I would have put in the Ninja

Turtle theme. I probably would have got banned

just Because Michael Bay would have seen it and

probably gotten mad at me. I don't know, but...

God. But, Thundercats. Yeah. So, do you have

anything else to say about the Thundercats? No.

The other thing is, this is more of a personal

thing, and this is going to be very quick before

I let you guys go at it. Um... When I go... I

thought you said you were going to be quick.

You took like five seconds. I am! Shut up, dammit!

I do the editing on this show. All you have to

do is show up. Shut the hell up. What do you

edit? What do you edit? You keep everything in

the show because it's all comedy gold. I am keeping

everything in the show. There you go. So what

do you edit? Okay. Shut up. Okay. Proceed, sir.

I edit when you badmouth other people. That's

what I edit. Oh. Anyways. All right. So, PJ OmegaSucksCock.

And I don't like the guy anyway, okay When I

walk from my apartment across the street to the

convenience store walk I have shut up I have

an objective to go to the store and you know

get soda get food get what you know, whatever

I Don't socialize with people. I don't you know

I don't go stand on a street corner, stick my

leg out, and say, hey, pick me up. You know what

I mean? I don't socialize with people. I go from

point A to point fucking B. The other day, some

guy that I barely even saw out of the corner

of my eye was like, hey, do you still work at

Steak and Shake? Now, keep in mind, where I live,

the little Thornton's convenience store rallies

and Steak and Shake are all in a row right in

front of my apartment complex. OK? I'm like,

I've never worked at Stake and Shake. Who the

hell are you, and what the fuck are you talking

about? Who isn't daddy, and what does it do?

Shut the hell up. Exactly why I hate leaving

my apartment, and I love living my life online.

I hate dealing with stupid fucking people in

the real fucking world. It's like. I was raised

not to talk to strangers. And people come to

me like, oh, hey, do you remember me from...

I'm like, no, I really don't. You're raised that

way when... Get away from me, you fucking weirdo.

You're raised that way when you're eight years

old and you don't want to get butt raped. When

you're a grown man, when you're a grown man,

you can talk to other people. It's allowed. But

I don't like... Strangers have the best candy.

My point is... In the real world now if it's

something on Skype where I can only see you know

What what the hell is oh, yeah, you know Frish's

big boy and and in Lionel and some you know matrix

wearing jazz, you know, that's fun I don't mind

talking to people like that, but if it's like

dealing with someone in the real world, I hate

fucking doing it Because people are fucking stupid

As long as somebody doesn't pull up in a van

and ask you to help them move a couch into it

and then you'll be rubbing the lotion on the

skin The sad fucking thing is I was walking home

from the bank and And that's the other thing

I hate is like people driving by and yelling

at you on the sidewalk as they're driving fucking

by like hey sexy Some guy yelled my name in a

car, pulls up in front of me. Wait, he knew your

name? Remember me from middle school. I'm like,

no. He's like, oh, my name's this blah, blah,

blah. I'm like, no, I don't really. Well, do

you need to ride? Do you need this? Do you need

this? I'm like, no, I only live right up the

street. I'll be all right. And when he first

got out of the fucking car, I immediately turned

around and walked back and away in a fucking

back direction. I'm like, leave me the fuck alone.

Go the fuck. Fuck away! So somebody was nice

and they offered you a ride and they knew who

you were, they called you by name. I didn't know

who they were, that's the point. It's like, I

don't recognize people. It's like, you know what

I mean? It's like, if I haven't seen someone

from my middle school days in over 20 fucking

years, I'm not gonna recognize them now. I have

a great memory when it comes to useless information

and useless shit, but remembering someone that

I went to middle school back in 19 fucking 93,

I'm not going to fucking remember that. 19 fucking

in 93. Shit, I'd been out of school for two years

by then. Shut the fuck up, you old bastard. I

feel young. I'm a young pup here. Oh, get this.

You're going to love this, Bob. Not Bob. You're

going to love this, Octobotavis. I don't know

if you've listened to episode 13, but when. Bob

came to me asking about podcasts. He's like,

yeah, I want it to be more so for people that

have kids and anyone 35 and over. I'm like, well,

you're effectively getting rid of Paul and myself,

who Paul's 33 and I'm 32. It's like, are you

kidding me? What the hell? You're just trying

to get rid of us. I see how it goes. Fine, be

that way. No, I just thought old guys like me

meeting Kevin. Oh. Because we're almost the same

age. So anyway, what is it that you guys want

to rant or discuss about this week? Boobies.

I would want to rant about boobies. No, I just

wanted to discuss them. I don't want to rant

about boobies. Wait a minute, this is a show

for children. Oh, oh, well. This is a kid's show.

We call them milk producers. I have to make a

clip of Bodacious Tatas. I love us, God. Note

to self, include Bodacious Tatas. Oh, you're

OK. So all right, let's talk about Hasbro and

their idiocy with Artist Alley. When it was first

announced that First of all Hasbro is banning

third party the sale of third party items, which

I don't mind. I'm glad Yeah, I didn't but they're

better than Hasbro toys They're actually that

what people would want instead of 14 ,000 different

bumblebees But as we said last week, you know

Bumblebee is the kid character that you know

in order for you know For them to make their

money and sell to children Bumblebee has to be

a shelf But but the cons are for like old guys,

you know, it's like I know the kids go and stuff

But mainly they're for like collectors and stuff

aren't they? I mean, yeah, they're for fans and

stuff But how many like 10 year olds are going

there spending four five six hundred dollars?

All is i'm gonna say about this and this is the

only time i'm gonna bring this other Company

and website up is just be glad bob They are not

fucking mattel and fucking maddie collector where

you wouldn't be able to get any fucking toys

No, you get toys just not ones we want. And you

would get them two months later. Yeah. You'd

have the same figure, just different heads. Exactly.

It's the same figure, just different heads. I

mean, this is such a slippery slope sort of thing

to talk about because I mean, people say that,

you know, I mean, I've seen the argument where

people have said that They're you know that Hasbro

doesn't make what we want to make or you know

what we as fans want them to make that I mean

that's one of the biggest arguments. I would

say but Really, it's it's not that they don't

I mean, and I don't know yeah I don't know the

logistics behind it, but there's a lot of stuff

that Hasbro can't make because Has or third -party

companies can get away with certain things because

they're not conformed or they don't have to conform

to certain production rules so I mean I I mean,

I don't know how that all works. I mean if somebody

were to make a third -party Fort Max. That's

two feet tall Everybody will love it. I think

you know it's well articulated be wonderful blah

blah blah, but Hasbro can't make it because it

can't You have to be able to hold it from a certain

height and drop it and not have something kill

a child I Mean that's so I mean I'm thinking

a lot of stuff that yeah, we absolutely love

it It's not really Hasbro's fault that we can't

get it Just the way society is the thing that

takes me off is with like, you know a fan art

and we're gonna Like Kevin was saying, you know,

are they gonna go after like the the the cosplayers?

You know the people that dress up like optimist

prime or whatever Are they gonna go after them

for copyright infringement? Like where's the

end of it? It's like as fans. I thought it was

coming together. That's what cons are for I mean

look at comic -con if they did that for the comic

book convention There would wouldn't be anything.

I think Go ahead Bob. I'm sorry. Well, no, I

just it's like where's the limit? It's like if

they embraced it how much more money they could

actually make you know the struggling uh you

know economy and all that stuff if they actually

went to the third party people here you can use

our license do things you want to make it right

just think how much money they could make and

actually strive and actually make a better product

instead of putting out transformer prime crap

toys well arms don't hang together cliff jumper

Oh, I hate that. I mean you have to think I mean

I'm sure that these company I mean when it comes

to that like say cosplayers I think they're pretty

much safe because nothing's being sold I think

that's kind of where people are gonna draw the

line as long as there's no monetary gain from

the IP infringement I think most things are okay

now I was like Wow when the whole artist alley

thing came down I started thinking about Callie

and her puggle formers exactly and and and the

problems that those have because Regardless of

what anybody says they are Parodies of Transformers,

I mean there's no if -ands or butts of bottom

that that's exactly what they are and they even

have logos and everything, right? But she's got

her own. She has her own puggle logo. I mean,

there are some that do have the Autobot and Decepticon

logos. Here's the thing with Callie, though.

They told her specifically that she falls under

parody, and parody is not the same thing as people

drawing Transformers and selling them for some

strange reason. And you're right, but here was

my point that I brought after I saw that. was

that what if somebody in Artist Alley is drawing

a caricature of Optimus Prime? It's a parody

of Optimus Prime. I mean, it's not actually Optimus

Prime. I mean, you see him at, like, fairs and

everything, where you sit there and they draw

a caricature of Optimus. Yeah, where you have

a big head and a small body. Right, exactly.

If somebody did that with Optimus Prime, would

that be allowed? Because that's a parody. of

optimist prime which would fall under the same

category what cali does so i was like this is

this is a very slippery slope that you have to

be very careful with it now it has since come

out that and then this is where you know people

have bitched at me because they you know certain

people in particular that gt who gt gt yeah who's

gt general Yeah, what okay, you're typing it,

so I'll know what you're gonna say well him and

and and and That one you know have come up That

all I'm doing is kissing ass to the transformer

collector club and stuff, and it's really not

that at all It's just well well he can he can

suck my shit As the information that you gave

me is that now common knowledge have you revealed

that to anyone About, about what happened with...

With Mr. Sinclair. What do you mean? When you

sent me all those direct messages about BotCon.

Oh, about how they want to send me stuff? Okay,

so that, that is common, I didn't want to bring

it up if it was - As far as I know, I mean, I,

I'm, it's not something that I'm hiding from

anybody, I just don't know who, who I've told.

Basically. Everybody now. Yeah, basically everybody

now, yeah. We'll see, we'll see, here's the thing,

the - The reason why I asked you is because you

told me that after them, after seeing your review

of what was it? Overrun. Overrun. Yeah. They

approached you. Correct. So technically, you're

not sucking up to them. No, you're right. But

there was a time beforehand, though, that I was

like, hey, guys, you should send me stuff. Blah,

blah, blah. I mean, I have done that. But. You

know, and I forgot what I was, what my train

of thought was with this. You son of a bitch!

He always does this, he'll go off on a tangent,

and I just want to tell him to shut up because

I'll lose my train of thought. But, I mean, people

have said that, you know, I mean, I'm just kissing

their ass because of this entire thing. And,

you know, it isn't that at all. My perspective

is that everybody is just attacking... The Transformer

Collector Club and the BotCon people, you know,

Pete Sinclair, um, um, Brian Savage, they just

want to attack these guys and they don't know

the whole story. And now it's come out that this

whole Artist Alley thing, well, it had nothing

to do with the Collector Club, had nothing to

do with BotCon. This came down from Hasbro. Not

even, not even the club. And that's what I've

been saying all along. I mean, I, I never said

it was the club. No, I know. No, I know, but

it's, I'm like, you look back at all the other

things that, you know, people have wanted to

blame the club about, there's so much more that

goes on behind the scenes that we just don't

know, that people just speculate with, that they

just start pointing their finger at whoever's

face is there. And Pete Sinclair, Brian Savage,

they get trashed for all this, and lo and behold,

the whole artist situation was because of Hasbro.

And you know so it's not me kissing anybody's

ass It's me being objective and saying you know

what you guys need to shut your hole You need

to listen to both sides of the story And then

you can make an educated decision because right

now everybody's just making decisions based on

one aspect of the entire situation and you look

like a total tool and yeah, I'm talking about

the three people that were mentioned in that

well not the three people but the two people

our little chat window here that you listening

to this can't See, so yeah. Kiss my ass or what?

See, my whole thing that made me mad was like,

you know, like TFW, you know, their website,

isn't that copyright infringement? They're not

part of Hasbro. Do they have permission to use

logos that look like Optimus Prime? I mean, how

far are you going to go with it? Yeah, you know,

like busting into people's houses that it's almost

like when they downloaded MP3s, you know, the

music industry, you know, you have Hercules on

your shelf, Paul. I do not. Can they bust you

for having that? Because you bought and paid

for a third party thing, how far are they going

to take it? I can understand they want to cover

their butts with copyright, because that's theirs.

But how far are they going to really go? I heard

a small piece of information today. I don't know

how true it is I'm still trying to figure it

out and Research it but a friend of mine. I already

think I know where you're going with this one

Kevin But go ahead just let him go. I know go

ahead go ahead a friend of mine was telling me

today that He got word from robot kingdom that

they are No longer going to be allowed to sell

third -party items according to Hasbro Hasbro's

coming after him for it and that they're gonna

honor all pre -orders, but after that, they're

done. I still don't know how true that is. Well,

to further elaborate on that is I received information,

a lot of people know that I'm good friends with,

I don't even know if I should actually say, I'm

not gonna say who I heard it from. I mean, most

people can probably figure it out. I don't want

him to get mad at me, but... I was asked, hey

Paul, what do you think about this third party

band hammer that's coming down? I'm like, what?

What are you talking about? I'm like, you mean

BotCon? He's like, no, no, no, no, no. Like online

companies such as Big Bad Toy Store, Robot Kingdom,

TF Source, Kapow Toys, all these different companies,

several of them have already had cease and desist

orders sent to them from Hasbro. Now, Some of

us from what I'm understanding a lot of it has

to do with I gear sort of stuff But that can

be just the tip of the iceberg if they if they

start things off with I gear What's to stop them

from going after TFC toys or fans project or

whatever and? A lot of you know a lot of the

reason why if you go over to big bad toy store

right now my understanding is That Joel who is

the the president and boss over there is pretty

nervous about this and concern that it's actually

going to happen. So a lot of their stuff over

there are on clearance. It's a third party clearance.

It's like inventory reduction or something like

that. And a lot of it is because if they have

to stop selling it, they're going to be stuck

with all this stuff and they're not going to

be able to get their money back. So they want

to try to get rid of the stuff as quickly as

possible now. And Joel over there, from my understanding,

is very upset about it. And a lot of this has

to do with one person in particular, from my

understanding, who apparently has been gathering

all this information, sending it to Hasbro, so

on and so forth, that has finally made Hasbro

realize what's really kind of going on. And it's

always been one of those things where they've

even said, I remember last year at BotCon, I

was there in person, they... stupid people get

up and ask at the Hasbro panel about about your

party stuff yeah you know and they start like

you know what guys we know about it shut up keep

stop talking about it cuz otherwise if you keep

talking about it we're gonna have to do something

about it so just leave it alone stop asking us

and be happy with it but no people just keep

running their mouth and bitching about stuff

and it's it's kind of obnoxious but It sounds

like something that's seriously happening that

I mean the whole third -party band thing at BotCon

people have bitched about most people kind of

You know fall in the category that you know,

it's it's their convention. They can say what's

allowed there what's not allowed there and I

have a question for you Paul. Um, go for it The

the BotCon exclusive sets are they made by Hasbro?

They're officially licensed by Hasbro. Okay,

so they gave the okay to do them then because

I always wondered about those because they're

pretty much what you know They're not really

They're almost like a fan thing, you know, it's

like a third party kind of thing. I wondered

if that Was that no, I just I just wondered if

that was actually approved by Hasbro. Oh, yeah,

it's good BotCon, BotCon is the official transformer

convention. It's ran by Fun Publications. They're

the ones that hold the license from Hasbro to

produce this stuff. So everything that they do

is sanctioned through Hasbro. So I mean, that's

all legit. But somebody brought up this, and

I honestly don't even know why I did this, because

I never listen to podcasts. But for some reason,

everybody always tells me that I should listen

to the WTF at TFW podcast. So I listen to one

of them. And they were talking about this kind

of thing, and somebody had mentioned the fact

that when BotCon first started, it wasn't ran

officially. It was just basically a meet -up.

We all have. We all have local meet -ups. And

BotCon started out like that. And one of the

exclusives, I suppose, was a third -party item.

It wasn't officially licensed or anything like

that. And I don't remember what it was or what

it is or anything. It's the same kind of thing.

I mean, I mean, so people are like, you know,

Pete Sinclair, you're being a hypocrite because

when you were running things, when it was for

you guys, you know, and you're, you know, you

had exclusives that were third party, blah, blah,

blah. Now, just to clarify this point here, the

Hartman brothers originally started BotCon and

then they sold it to Fun Pub and Pete Sinclair

and Brian Savage. So Pete Sinclair wasn't in

on the original. Deal. No, you're right. You're

right. I apologize. I was I misspoke. It happens

once or twice Yeah My question is how can you

go? From 2011 which is arguably the best bot

con that they've ever had we talked about this

the best box set they've ever had Outside of

shattered glass in my opinion How can they go

from all of that snake shit? Shut up. I was just

going to say that. How can they go from all that

awesomeness to this? Now, I know that Paul and

I have talked about this before, whereas Hasbro

basically told Brian Savage, Pete Sinclair, all

them, hey, you need to change this, this, this,

and this. No, we're not having it in LA. We need

to put it somewhere else. Blah, blah, blah. And

you got to change the box set. You got to do

this. You got to do that. I understand that,

but. Melding the shattered glass and the classics

verse and using completely crappy characters

in my opinion a fucking white sound wave seriously

That looks like ass that you have to actually

buy the headband separately. Oh god, you know,

it's I mean last year's botcom was awesome. I

mean Mostly because I was there, obviously. Well,

no, I don't mean because I was there, it was

awesome. It was awesome because I was able to

go to it. It was awesome because I was able to

go to it, you bastard. I mean, not because I

was there. It was just awesome because it was

my first time and all that stuff. I mean, now

I know Bob had wanted to go to this, this 2012

one, and he since changed his mind, and really,

it's... I mean, with as good as it was in 2011,

I don't even know how you can beat that. How

can you? You can't. It's all downhill from here.

But looking at it, when they first started scheduling

the hotel rooms and the blocks, they don't realize

how big a thing it is. And they have no idea

how many people are actually going from all over

just to go to that. And they're not prepared

for the chaos. And it's like they just don't

even care. They're like, yeah, we might have

rooms, we might not. We might do this, we might

not do that. Here's part of the problem, Bob.

To be honest, I mean, they're actually really

well prepared. They do their due diligence, and

they do a good job. The problem with this year's

BotCon, and Mike had talked about this, and I

don't know if you know about it, is that basically

at the last minute, Hasbro told the BotCon and

FunPub people, that they have to change everything.

They had originally planned for BotCon 2012 to

be in Pasadena, California again. Which one it

should be. Well, I mean, I would have loved it.

I mean, I mean, they they interview or they did

an interview. Like when you went there, you had

a all the attendees got a questionnaire thing

and you could fill in. If, you know, we had BotCon

here in Pasadena again, would you come to it?

But like the vast majority of people. Wanted

it to be in Pasadena again. Just I mean for a

lot of I don't know I mean, I honestly don't

know why but most most people had a good time

there now They had BotCon and fun publications

had decided to have it in Pasadena and it was

going to be in the normal time again It was going

to be in like June or July Then Hasbro says like

no we weren't I mean because they're Hasbro actually

gives them the money to do all this stuff They

are the ones that you know You know rent the

you know the the convention center and provide

all this stuff basically Hasbro came along And

they're like no we're not gonna do it in Pasadena.

We don't want to spend that much money essentially

why don't you just have it in your home area,

so it's not as expensive again and That's you

know and they're like you know and not only that

but you can't really have it that late in the

year You're gonna have to move it up, so everything

got crammed into a very short amount of time

so that when everything was announced, here's

the hotels, and then all of a sudden, here's

this, and then here's this, and it all got thrown

out at us in a relatively short amount of time

because they didn't have a lot of time. And again,

I sound like I'm, you know, kissing ass to them,

but I mean, it's just, it's kind of... I do kind

of feel bad for them. I mean, it's, it really

is like they sit there and they just get so much

crap for things. A lot of it is out of their

hands. Die Hard fans, they love what they love,

and no matter what they do, it's not going to

be good enough. For you, I mean, you and the

Maxibots and stuff were talking about coming

down and I was gonna drive to six hours down

there and stay with my brother -in -law and stuff.

What made you guys change your mind? Was it money

issues? I know that's a lot of travel for you

guys, or was it, when you started seeing the

toys come out, I remember you guys just like,

oh my God, I'm not gonna waste my time for this

and that, because the head is horrible. Is that

why? Because of the quality of it? Yeah, I mean,

honestly, well, for me, it was twofold. Number

one, It's later this month. It's like 19 days

away. So it's at the end of this month My wife

is still teaching she wanted she wanted to go

with me. I mean as much as I love her I'm not

allowed to go many places by myself That's just

how it works, being married. Yeah, I mean, she

was like, you know, if you're going to go on

a vacation, I want to go with you. I'm not going

to let you go by yourself, you know, which is

fine. But she's still teaching at that time of

year. So there is no way that we could get off,

you know. And then the other thing was the BotCon

sets. I need deeper to hurt my bum bone. Sure,

we're 40 years old. Yay. Yeah, exactly. No kidding.

Sorry. But I mean, the other aspect was I really

did think that the box set was not worth all

the extra expenditure of going all the way down

to Dallas for it. I'm like, to get that, you

know, and I could have went there without getting

that package. But honestly, if you're going to

go to BotCon and I saw this. Yeah, and I saw

this last year with Nestor. I mean, he just got

the regular mini -con package, which lets him

get in. But all of us, other people, we got the

Primus package. So we got to go to the Hall of

Fame. We got to do the casino night. We got to

do everything. And he would have been locked

in his room, not doing anything with us. And

I'm like, you know what? If you're going to go,

and I was rambling, but I heard somebody say

that you got to go all out. it's you have to

if you're gonna go to bot con you don't go second

class you gotta go You know, number one, you've

got to go Prime this package all the way. And

that's actually if it's going to be the only

time you can ever go in your entire life. If

you finally, you know, achieve enough money in

your savings account or whatever else, and you

want to go to this convention that happens once

a year, and if it's the only time you're going

to be able to go, yes, you have to go all out.

Yeah, exactly. Paul, being there, you know, last

year, when you go onto the floor, What is the

majority of the floor itself? Was it third -party

figures and stuff or was it a lot of just Hasbro?

I mean if they're gonna take all that away, are

you gonna really pay all that money just to go

see Hasbro toys? Here's the biggest problem.

Yeah, the biggest problem is there's a nice mixture

of both but a lot of people like going there

because TF source is there, for example, or Big

Bad Toys there hasn't been there for a couple

years. Which really has kind of put a lot of

people off because Big Bad Toys literally would

reserve like an entire wall and have all their

stuff. And I'm talking an entire wall of the

convention center. You walk into the dealer room

and you're talking 100 feet of Big Bad Toy Store

stuff. They haven't gone there in a couple years.

For whatever reason, I do not know. A lot of

it is... I from what I gather and again, this

is all through secondhand sources that I hear

basically Hasbro and the botcom people were jealous

because They you know big bad toy store was making

a shit ton of money and people were buying their

stuff and not anything else But there's a nice

mixture between the stuff, but there is a lot

of third -party stuff now you take all that away

and all that's really left is the Hasbro stuff

and the Hasbro stuff is horrible typically well,

I mean I mean horrible in terms of quality that

you know, that's that's all personal preference

But the horrible aspect I refer to is the fact

it's the pricing you go in and instead of paying

$10 for deluxe you're playing paying $25 for

deluxe because every single vendor at that place

Stops at every single target and every single

Walmart and every single this that and the other

thing on the way there and they buy stuff and

they take it there and they try selling it for

as much as they can get. And that's the biggest

problem that I saw with the dealer room. You

walk in there and people are asking a ridiculous

amount of prices. I saw some dumb fuck that was

selling the most ridiculous condition Fortress

Maximus, yellow, completely not complete, just

ugly. The stickers were terrible. He wanted $2

,000 for that thing. I'm like, what? You really

- I mean, people go in there and they just don't

have any concept of what's real in the world.

Nobody's gonna pay $2 ,000 for a Fortress Maximus

that's yellowed and nasty looking. But - Now,

are they gonna allow that kind of stuff? Like,

people just - Oh, yeah. Everyday people buy -

Like, being able to sell their product? Or would

that be copyright infringement? The only thing

that is not - It's not copyright infringement

because the way Hasbro already looks at it is

that money has already been given to Hasbro.

So if you go into a Target and you buy a figure

for $10 and then you go onto their floor and

you sell it for $25, they don't care because

they already got their $10 for the figure. But

that goes with the artists though. They're paying

to be there, that you buy a booth so that money

goes to Hasbro and the National Cons and then

they could sell their product. Isn't it the same

kind of concept? It kind of is when you put it

that way because I know Callie said that the

tables were like 200 bucks. Yeah From what I

hear most of the artists were only making about

200 bucks when all sudden done so it evens out

right? Yeah, no, I mean The whole idea is they

you know Hasbro wants to protect their property

now Yeah, I can I can totally be honest and say

that last year's the the poster Thing would you

know I mean every year bot con has like an artist

poster or something like that something that's

exclusive to the convention You know a few years

ago. There was a the 25 anniversary one You know

the year before that was like the elite guard

or something like that I mean, so I mean those

are all official licensed posters and artist

drawings I didn't buy the actual official one

because it was just like tech specs. That's all

it was it was tech specs of Transformer characters

I bought, and I don't remember who it was, actually.

He's like... I hate to say it, but he's a foreigner.

I know that sounds terrible, but he's like Italian

or something. He's like Italian. And he drew

a bunch of, like, animated posters. I mean, I

have one of all the Starscream clones. There's

one where... There's another one that I have

where it's... Uh, Optimus Prime from Transformers

Animated with the Matrix around his neck. And

I can't remember... I can't remember the guy's

name. He even signed him. He signed him for me.

He was in the artist's alley. And I saw Derek

Wyatt, and I had Derek J. Wyatt sign him, too.

But they're not official licensed stuff, so I

could see where Hasbro would be like, well, hey,

you gave money to someone else. Now, I see what

Bob is saying, because, well, that guy bought

that space from Hasbro. So yeah, when you put

it that way, Bob, you have a very good point.

Well, my thing is, what Kevin was talking about,

we got talking on Facebook, me and him, and he

does repaints of figures and stuff like that,

and would that be infringing on that same thing?

Because it's not really a third party, but the

guys that do customs? Again, I think customs

and things of that nature are safe, only because,

again, Hasbro got the money for them. That's

that's the only way I look at it wait and the

other thing is Kevin. Are you reselling these

customs now? Okay, see that's the thing. He's

repainting them for himself Yeah, but people

make a living off of making customs for people

of one -of -a -kind. I mean, even Paul's even

reviewed some that were custom one -of -a -kind

things. Oh, absolutely. I mean, I did some of

the, I mean, and it's funny that we're talking

about that, you know, because, or we're talking

about this because we mentioned the whole, when

BotCon first started, they had their own kind

of exclusive, when the LA Meetup thing started,

we had little custom figures and it was just

basically... the war for Cybertron Optimus Prime

repainted, or not even repainted, but died black,

but I mean, you're absolutely right. And those

were being sold again, and it's so hard, and

I mean, the biggest thing is, we can sit here

and we can talk about this, and this is one thing

that I've always said, we can sit here and talk

about it, but the biggest problem is, not one

of us, as far as I know, is a lawyer. So we have

no idea what they can do, what they can't do,

what they can go i mean but we have seen you

know there there's not a there's not a uh...

uh... i mean what i can remember the company

but they just released up a laptop that was called

the transformer prime laptop or something like

that and they in hasbro tried to sue them and

hasbro lost Because the way that it was designed

or the way that it was was because obviously

Transformers and the toys they're in a completely

separate Category when it comes to copyrights

and things of that nature their toys their their

movies their things like that and Like things

like laptops fall in a different category So

there's so that's not protect. I can't remember

that the name of it though. It was Yeah, there's

a tablet At one of our at one of our recent meetups

that we had a couple weeks ago one of my friends

is actually a lawyer and we were discussing the

things that Hasbro can and can't do and It was

we did it was right after the the art ban. It

was like the day after or two days after they

announced it and Basically what he said was it

is Hasbro show And legally, they can deny this.

They can force the ban if they wanted to. But,

he said, sometimes you can adhere to the letter

of the law, but sometimes it's better to adhere

to the spirit of the law. Yeah. And that's an

excellent point, too. Yeah, because he was saying

that... While he agrees with Hasbro taking the

stance He felt that they went about it the wrong

way and in such a way that it was pissing off

the fans and that Yeah, they were adhering to

the letter of the law, but the spirit of the

law He said basically the artists are Free advertising

for Hasbro's not costing them anything to have

these pictures drawn But people are more apt

to go by the figures of the of the pictures that

are drawn And that kind of coincides with something

that was, I personally again heard through speaking

with Pia, everybody knows who Pia is. He straight

up went up to, I think it was Brian Savage to

be honest, and he's like, I don't know if you

guys know me. and blah blah blah, you know, I

mean, I just want you to know that, I mean, I

do reviews on YouTube, I don't want you guys

to be, or he's like, my name is Ben, you might

know me on YouTube as Piaw, because all these

guys, they frequent TFW, so everybody knows who

Piaw is. And basically, they're like, yeah, we

know who you are, yeah, that's it, that's it,

Bob, the Azus, I just tangented right there,

the Azus, Azus Transformer Prime, yeah. The,

uh, that was the name of the tablet. But, um,

basically, you know, he's like, you know, I don't,

I don't do anything because a lot of people know

that he's well known for doing reviews of stolen

Chinese toys. And a lot of, and they are aware

of it. They are aware of him. They know what

he does. And they're like, you know what? Honestly,

we don't care because like, just like you were

saying, Bob, it's free advertisement. Well, they

should embrace it because it sells their product.

Yeah. He said it was Aaron Archer that he went

up to. Aaron Archer. Aaron Archer. Thank you.

I met Aaron Archer two years ago at Wizard World

Philly when they had the Toy Fair awards and

Hasbro Transformers got inducted into the Toy

Fair Hall of Fame. So I got to meet Aaron Archer

back then. Interesting. But yeah, that's what

it was. Because now that I think about it, why

would Brian Savage say that shit? He doesn't

mean anything. But yeah, it was Aaron Archer.

He went up to him, and he's like, I'm Pia. I

do reviews. I know you know me, blah, blah, blah.

And they're like, yeah, we don't really care.

You're basically giving us free advertisement.

So whatever, do your thing. That's really what

it comes down to. So you're absolutely right.

That it's, you know, with the whole artist thing,

it is free advertisement. Now, we do have to

keep in mind that the whole spirit of this is

from the fact that Hasbro was trying to crack

down on knockoff transformers. The things that

are coming over from China that are direct creation.

You know, I mean, they use the exact same molds

as the original G1 toys. That's what this is

all stemmed from you know then it then it ballooned

into the whole I gear thing and then it ballooned

into just I mean everything else I mean so but

again, and I think Bob you're you're talking

about this Where do you where do you draw the

line at this point? You know if you're gonna

start doing this with that stuff Where do you

draw the line because once you start? You're

already going downhill that avalanche is already

going so how do you stop it? Where do you where

do you stop it? Do you go after the people that

make t -shirts, you know, like fan -made t -shirts

that have the logo that weren't made by Hasbro

or official licensed product, like t -shirts

and mugs and like even your name, Paul, you know,

Optibotamus is too much like Optimus, you know,

you're kind of infringing on the name. You know,

how far do you really take it? It's entirely

possible. I mean, who knows? It's like all the

people that are ripping you off, Paul, on YouTube,

you know, using, you know, your name and just

changing it a little bit and doing setup exactly

like you, you know, you could say, hey, they're...

Optimus 2. Yeah, there's an Optimus 2, 3, 4,

Optimus... Nemesis G. Yeah, Nemesis Optimus.

Yeah, I mean, there's, I mean, I just found the

other one the other day instead of O for Optimus,

it was zero. Mean zero. I don't even know how

you would say that. Yeah, it's it's leet speak

is what it is. Yeah, I mean Could you sue them

for stealing your your you know, your your stick,

you know, you're making a living at this. It's

your job Honestly, there's somebody somebody

honestly didn't tell me that there is I don't

remember specifically what he said But I could

have them removed from YouTube but in terms of

like copyrighted violation. I mean, I don't have

anything copyrighted. Right, but I mean, if you

started to, if you actually copyrighted your

handle and what you do, your style of video,

and then all of those other ones, me included,

that have the same kind of idea of how our setup

is, white background, camera. Hey, I thought

of that. And you can go back to when you first

started doing white background. That might be

that might be going a little bit too far because

that's the that's kind of like the whole idea

that like like Creo building blocks or I Mean

back in the day like Lego tried soon Who was

it mega blocks or something like that? And basically

the circuit judge or something like that was

like you can't copyright something that shouldn't

number one It was it was public domain by that

point in time, but they're like you can't copyright

something like a a generic building block. You

can't do it. My wife is a writer. She's a published

writer, and all of her work is copyright. And

the way she does it is you write the story out,

you do the manuscript, you print it out, and

you mail it to yourself in the mail and never

open it. That way, boom, it's copyrighted. If

somebody stole it from you, I got it right here.

I thought of this idea, and you have – Stamp

on it and everything of when the date was and

all that stuff, you know, it's like How can how

can Hasbro? You know, yeah, they can copyright

the names and the images the likenesses but like

you said with You know making it cartoony or

making it, you know the head bigger than the

body right They can't really touch that because

it's not copyright infringement. It's just oh,

yeah, it kind of looks like him But if you added

a little bit of black where red should be it's

not him. That's that's that's where that's where

the whole property Well, yeah, and that's where

the whole like intellectual property sort of

thing kind of falls in like for example if I

were to take like one of your wife's books and

Change it a little bit But it was still obvious

that's where I got the inspiration. I could probably

get in trouble for it. And that's where I think

the whole intellectual property thing is kind

of vague when it comes down to it. It's like,

oh, well, if you squint your eyes and you look

really far away, that kind of looks like Optimus

Prime. I mean, I don't know. I don't know. It's

crazy. Transforming robots themselves? Hasbro

can't. put a claim on. I mean, there were transforming

robots going back into the 60s and they didn't

know them. But it's when it resembles a character

that's created by them already. I could take

a character, make a toy of it. And if it resembles

Optimus Prime, I mean, maybe let's say that it

doesn't even look red or blue. It doesn't transform

into a truck. Well, let's say hypothetically

that I take his head, which is pretty iconic

and obviously looks like Optimus Prime no matter

where you see it. And I make a head, you know,

with, you know, the antenna coming up, you know,

and you've got the mouth plate and, you know,

a little crest piece in the middle. You know,

that might be enough to get me in trouble. Who

knows? Again, it's one of those things where

We're not lawyers, so we can sit here and we

can go back and forth and speculate what is okay

and what isn't okay. And that's part of the problem.

When you get on the internet, everybody seems

to be a lawyer. Everybody knows something, and

everybody wants to put their own two cents into

things. This is why I always talk to my friend

Gus, because he actually is a lawyer, so if I

want to know, I just ask him, what is the reason

behind it? And even within the realm of being

lawyers, There are people that are strictly just

copyright lawyers that probably know more of

the letter of the law than a lawyer who gets

you out of speeding tickets. We're all guilty

of when we first read that or anything to do

with Transformers and you just go off the wall

because it's like, no, you're killing me. It's

like when you do a review of something and you

got your guys that watch and people are just

like, Oh, you're stupid for saying this, and

this, and this, and this. You know, they go crazy

and didn't watch the whole video. You know, and

we don't really know all the answers of what's

gonna happen until it actually happens. But,

you know, I'm guilty of it too, just going, Oh

my God, what is wrong with them? Why would they

push fans away when the fans bring in, you know,

not to bring up dollars or anything, but I'm

sure when you and the Mexibots went, thousands

and thousands of dollars, you know, between everyone.

Yeah, and you know you've come out and said what

you spent there. I mean Publicly you said it

and yeah Ridiculously proud of but yeah, well

no, but I mean just think of how many people

do that You know how much money are they really

making it back on a lot? You know for the expenses

for the expenses that they put into it just to

have people show up You know yeah, they weren't

making money Hasbro wouldn't be into it And that's

what it comes down to I mean people need to understand

number one that Hasbro is a business and They

are going to protect their their you know their

stuff You know as fans away in the same process.

I can understand. I'm not wanting People stealing

their ideas which makes total sense to me. It's

just pushing fans away the fan pictures you know

they're getting their cut it's not like these

guys are out on the street before people go in

trying to sell their stuff where Hasbro doesn't

get a cut of it but just the booth rents i mean

this is just me thinking they still get a cut

of it you know those guys could sell 10 pictures

and only make 150 dollars and Hasbro took 200

from them you know you're right and that being

said i think that's why Hasbro has Reconsider

their position and I think they needed to do

that and I'm glad that they did Yeah, Paul when

you went last year how many people were in the

actual artists gallery the artists row or whatever

they call it I know they call it that at comic

-con Honestly, I didn't even really spend too

much time going through there so yeah yeah it

wasn't like art so yeah i'm not a big art you

know fan i mean i walked through it and like

i said i bought some stuff but um it wasn't anything

when you go to comic comic con this year and

uh just look at the artist row it's just amazing

of all those people that are back there i mean

there's there's probably 100 150 people back

there when i went to chicago and went to wizard

world That's a big part of it back there. And

those guys are just drawing copyrighted material.

They're drawing, you know, the Incredible Hulk,

Superman, whatever, you know, just however they

want to do it. And if they tried to do that,

they would go bankrupt because half the stuff

is artists like that. Because that's what books

are. A few of the conventions over here, both

Wizard World and the NJCC, Dan Kana goes to a

lot. And I've talked to him many many times bought

many pieces of art off the man, but he was for

a time part of fun pub And that was kind of allowed

that he could do that So now that he's not I

don't know if he's gonna be at any of the conventions

this year selling it or not I don't know what's

gonna go on with that, but He does amazing Transformers

artwork. I think it's some of the best that's

out there and I don't know how something like

this would affect him It'd be interesting to

see. Again, it doesn't matter because they're

going to be allowed to do it now. That's definitely

a good thing. Like you said, Kevin, it shows

that somebody over there is thinking and realizes

what's going on. Luckily, they're going to put

it back in there. The biggest draw is the...

At least for me. I mean a lot of people have

different opinions on what the biggest draw is

for going to this thing For me, it was just hanging

out with you know, the friends, you know meeting

the people I mean sure it was it was cool going

to the panels the dealer room honestly, I didn't

care for too much just because everything's overpriced

and then everything else that's not overpriced

is like third -party stuff and It's just I mean

and even some of that stuff is kind of still

overpriced because it's coming from like tf stores

which i'm sorry that you know one of the stuff

is overpriced especially when you can go to another

store online and it's cheaper i mean doesn't

make sense you want to do that case in point

um i wanted to get the uh i gear uh rager and

spray yeah and actually getting it directly from

i gear was a hell of a lot cheaper than going

through either big bad toy store or tf stores

they cost me 36 dollars with free shipping If

I got it from TF Source, it would have been 50.

Well, yeah. I mean, in all fairness, they have

to pay, you know, big toy store, TF Source, they

have to pay that same price to get it over, you

know, imported, and then they have to obviously

make that money back. I mean, they're a business,

so they want to make some money in terms of profit,

but I mean... Lot of this stuff just seems ridiculous

and you look at like for example The one I was

looking at was because I have to get the last

two to complete my second Hercules I need the

last two figures for it. They're running a 25

% sale right now on big bad toy store So figures

that are normally $99 are now $75. I'm like,

okay Well, if that's the case, how much did you

really actually get those for now? I mean being

in business myself I know that when you you buy

a bulk and stuff like that you get a discount

but Mean big bad toy store for example really

just over chart all of them do that I mean I

shouldn't say just think that toy store, but

now all of them do I? Started using big bad toy

store years ago long before I started having

children everything else just about Ten twelve

years ago when I first started using big bad

toy store And I'm used to get some good deals

back then and I noticed over the years It's gotten

they've gotten more and more expensive they used

to have a flat shipping rate, which was awesome.

You could buy as much stuff as you want and it

would cost the same to ship it to you. Then they

got rid of that and I was like, okay, well that's

sad, but they still had some decent prices on

stuff. Now, forget it. I hardly ever buy anything

off of there unless it's on clearance. Now that's...

Transitioning back to BotCon and getting off

of the online store hate for a while. Yeah, for

the love of God, will you keep us on track, you

son of a bitch? Yeah, come on. Well, you know...

You let us rant about everything. What's wrong

with you? I have a question though, guys. It's

about cons and stuff, so it kind of goes back

to BotCon. Like the local con like we have here

in Wichita, and I asked you guys this on Twitter

and stuff, but just so everybody else can hear

it. You know, are they copyright infringing?

No. Because, you know, they're doing customizations

of toys. They have third parties there. They're

doing artwork. They're doing everything. But

see it goes back to what I'm sorry interrupt

you Bob But it goes back to what goes back to

what Paul was saying if Hasbro doesn't know about

it if you don't say anything about it They won't

you know it's like don't ask don't tell you know

what I mean. You know a little con in the middle

of Wichita No offense is nothing compared to

the hugeness of what BotCon is and the controversy

that BotCon stirs BotCon is Hasbro's show it's

yeah Whereas the little one in Wichita isn't.

They couldn't care less. Most of the stuff that's

sold there, if it's Hasbro stuff, they already

got their money for it. They didn't care. Right.

So it's like I asked Kevin earlier, I was like,

okay, so these customs that you're doing, are

you doing them to keep them or are you doing

them to resell them? He's doing them to keep

them, but he's already bought... the figure and

Hasbro's already gotten their money so he can

do whatever he wants with it. He can resell it,

he can, you know, it doesn't really matter. Yeah,

case in point with that, um, one of my friends

goes a little crazy whenever Hasbro puts out

a figure and it doesn't have its original G1

name anymore because they lost the rights to

it or whatever, and he starts crying about it,

and I'm just like, dude. out -of -the -package

you can call it jim bob for who the hell cares

get over it right exactly i mean as soon as you

open it up it no longer has to be all about ratchet

i mean it can be reported or i mean yeah i mean

even even at that like let's look at the uh...

the transformer collector club on uh... uh...

uh... uh... uh... uh... overrun thank you that's

run about That's that's who it is. I mean the

package doesn't say it but as soon as you open

it up who cares Yeah, exactly. I'm gonna call

them Jim Bob Hasbro needs to put Hasbro needs

to start putting names on the bottom like like

Matty does with his team and stuff just really

Quickly, let's let's talk about that. I didn't

want I didn't want to I wanted to stop talking

about fucking Matty It's like damn you Bob The

ranting about Maddie Collector, but people just

keep pulling me back into the shit. But they're

so bad. It doesn't make any sense. Shut up. Shut

up. Let me say this day and point. That's what

I thought I was out. They pull me back in. That's

right. Here's the thing, what I learned when

I was still getting my figures. The names at

the bottom only mean that it's a classification.

Think of it as Deluxe Voyager Leader. That's

how I see the names at the bottom of the boxes

now. No! That has nothing to do with it, because

the other - I can't remember who it was that

I opened - Hold on, I'm gonna pull it up, because...

Who the fuck did I just review? Who did I - Uh...

Was it the snake dude you just did? I think -

Yeah, the - Cobra Khan - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Cobra Khan! Cobra KAAAAAAAAN! Yeah, that was

awesome, by the way. That turned out really good.

Um... Let me - Hold on, I got - Hold on, I'm

working on - I'm working on the RID Prime. Let

me, let me see. Okay, but what I'm saying is

the reason why I think the name's... It's not

a classification. It's not a classification because

the bottom of... God bless it! Go ahead, go ahead,

because I'm going to pull this up. The reason

why I think it's a classification is because...

You're getting it. You know, Sorceress had Grayskull

on it. Okay, well maybe that's Warriors of Grayskull.

Shadow Weaver had the Evil Horde on it. Well,

that's because she's a member of the Evil Horde.

You know that okay, I'm thinking it's a classification

of what their you know affiliation is in the

mythos Okay, now that I don't know if you can

hear me because I just walked real far away from

the camera um That being said Cobra Khan on the

bottom of it. It says the Valley Valley of Narl

and I pulled out I Pulled out the little map

that comes with Uh, I don't know. This is preternia

or whatever. Shadow Beaver, yeah. Yeah, yeah,

yeah. I'm looking for the Valley of Gnarl on

here to see if this is where the snake men come

from. And I don't see the fucking Valley of Gnarl.

Yeah. But you know, like, I mean, there was another

one. The Star Sisters had creature on the bottom.

What does that have to do with anything? Well,

the Star Sisters are German Nazi bitches, so

we don't have to worry about that. Anyway. Back

to BotCon, damn it. What I heard is the reason

that those are on there is so that they can trademark

them and still have those. But my point that

I made in the CobraCon video is like, I've never

seen a random transfer. I've never seen, like,

say, Iacon just randomly stamped onto the bottom

of a Bumblebee package. I mean it was because

Hasbro doesn't have white mailers. Or tissue

paper! They stop putting tissue paper in things

too! I wonder if Hasbro, with the copyright stuff,

is going to go after like third party G .I. Joe

toys now and stuff. I don't know. I don't even

get into G .I. Joe stuff. Is there like third

party G .I. Joe shit? I'm sure as I know is from

listening on to listening to what's on Joe mind

episode 48 Which everyone needs to go listen

to that they had an interview with Kevin Michael

Richardson. He's like, are you serious? They

never made a figure of road roadblock from renegades.

I'm fucking pissed about that now. Oh my god.

It's so hilarious I straight -up told Kevin Michael

on term like dude you and I need to hang out

sometime. He's like cool. Let's do it Bad ass.

Yeah, I like him. He's a cool guy. He really

is. He is. Getting back to BotCon, just as of

this recording, Friday night, April 6, 2012,

Peter Cullen is announced as a guest. They're

also having Dan Gilvezan and Buster Jones. For

those who may not know Buster Jones, he was the

voice of G1 Blaster. Can I tell you something?

I knew Buster Jones was gonna be there back in

December, but I, you know, I had to keep it hush

-hush. Anyway. Well, you're an asshole. That's

all there is to that. I had to! I made a promise

to keep my mouth shut, and I did. Exactly. Also,

apparently, I didn't even realize this partially

because I hate the series because I thought it

was kind of stupid. This year is the 10th anniversary

of Transformers Armada and Gary Chalk and David

Kay are going to be at BotCon 2012 as well. If

I was going to go to this convention, I would

only want to go for the guests and to essentially

steal Callie's entire tub of Puggles that she

is bringing. other than that i don't care about

this year's convention whatsoever i don't care

about the toys the toys are fucking ugly to me

um has bodcon even announced that it's sold i

mean we're we're like no they're not they're

not sold out three weeks two days away from the

actual convention they just opened up uh pre

-orders and then that's part of the problem their

website went down so they couldn't sell some

but they just reopened um sales yeah so so i

mean no they're not sold out Yeah Which animated

set this year well Yeah, but that's one of those

been there done that what else are you gonna

do? You could do the construct icons you could

do Other combiners you could do. Yeah, that would

require all new figures. Oh They're not gonna

do all new fingers you dimble door They can't

do all new figures. They have to use what they've

already been given. God, you don't know anything.

Shut the fuck up. They should at least make figures

that hold together. They don't want to do that.

That's silly. Dude, I was so excited to get Cliffjumper

and I finally got him and his arms don't stay

together. His forearms don't stay together for

anything. That's the worst thing about that mold

is his arm. Oh, you mean the arm panels, how

like they clip and they don't stay clipped together?

Oh, yeah, that definitely sucks. I should be

getting my first edition Cliffjumper from MiteMouth74.

for next week, because he finally sent it to

me, but it's coming from Canada, so it's gotta

go through customs for some stupid reason. So

that's a different mold, so the arms actually

hold together. Yeah, I'm gonna do a comparison

since I have the other Cliffjumper. I'm gonna

do a comparison of the two, because they both

have good points, they both have bad points,

but I think for overall look, the first edition

just looks better. Yeah, the first edition is

definitely the best of the two, but... you know

that that being said you know like like you said

it it really does have the or it there are parts

on it that are really good but there are parts

that really kind of suck and and and the biggest

thing that sucks on it in my opinion are his

arms it's like it's like if you could if you

could take the legs of the rid or the legs well

no yeah the legs of the rid and the arms of the

first edition you could put it together to make

one figure that'd be like the best Clip jumper.

Yeah. It would, because the legs on the RID are

pretty much show accurate. Yeah. And the tops

of his shoulders are show accurate, though the

colors are reversed, but that's easy to fix with

paint. But his forearms are crap. Yeah, they're

pretty stupid. Yeah, it's just, it's bad. Because

I'm afraid they're going to break because of

the way they're designed, just for moving them.

That's possible. Just don't touch them. Put it

on your shelf and leave it alone. These are toys.

These are toys. They're not meant to be played

with. At least I turned his hammer into a cool

looking Cybertronian Tommy gun. Yeah, thanks

for that. I copyrighted that one from you. I

stole it. That's all I have imposed. You gotta

pay me. Gotta pay royalties for that one. Yeah,

you do it Dino bots bot concept They'll never

do that. Why not? It was so crazy They'll never

do it because no one will buy it. You don't think

so. No wait what a bot concept of what Dino bots

Well again, what would they base? What would

they be they have to base off of something? Bot

con doesn't ever get brand new molds of things.

The best they can do is new heads So what would

they base it off of? Beast Wars toys. Shatterglass

Beast Wars? Oh god. It's gonna happen, mark my

words. Shatterglass Optimus Primal. Poop flinging

action. Poop flinging action? Good lord man.

Good lord. Anyhow, before I throw up, what else

do we have to bitch about? I don't know. Well,

you know, you were saying about the prices in

the dealer rooms at BotCon. We have the same

problem here in Philadelphia at the Wizard World

convention. Now, the first Wizard World I went

to, I got some fantastic deals. Like, I picked

up my Unicron figure there for 30 bucks. Oh,

yeah, I got a sweet ass deal on my G1 six shot.

I paid, I think like $70 or $80. Paul, you don't

want to know what I paid for my six shot. I think

you've told me, and I think it made me sick.

So yeah, keep it to yourself. $12 for my six

shot, and you can just shut your mouth. You can

just shut your mouth. No, I don't have the guns

for mine though, and I did have to buy Reaper

labels for him. But he is in... immaculate condition

other than he doesn't have the guns ha ha ha

I have the guns I know people who can get me

the guns yeah you know what actually is a really

really good place for buying stuff like that

is um oh what the hell is the name of the website

um I'm drawing a complete utter blank I get emails

from all labels no no no no He screwed you over

on that runabout. Yeah. What the hell is the

name of... No, no, no. It's like... Son of a

gun. I get emails from them all the time. Like,

we've just had an inventory update. God bless

it. Let me... I can't give them props if I can't

fucking figure out the name of the site. What

is it? Transformers? Why are you thinking of

that? Let me go back to Wizard World. Like I

said the first year I I made out like a bandit

the first year I found some great deals like

I got the the Skywarp Ultra Magnus classics two

-pack Still sealed for 20 bucks and this is just

as they were announcing the city commander armor

and I got it for 20 bucks there I got I think

it was transformer land Transformer land. There

you go. Sorry Got like the rap bat and Springer

two -pack for 20 bucks things like that But last

year when I went to wizard world and I went on

the last day only because it's the only day I

could afford to go because I was able to get

a Groupon to go in for 10 bucks instead of the

normal 30 they wanted and None of the dealers

were cutting any deals because wizard world has

been getting greedy and raising the prices of

how much it is to get a booth or a spot on the

floor. It's like $2 ,000 for these dealers to

get a spot on the floor. And they take it out

on the people who are buying the stuff. And I

had friends that were selling at Wizard World

two, three years ago who refuse to do it now

because of how much it costs. And it's got to

be the same thing with BotCon. Got to be. Oh,

I had no doubt. I'm no doubt. I mean and that's

that's what's end up gonna end up happening getting

worse and worse as time goes on if if something

like this Really kind of hurts spot -com. They're

gonna have to raise prices To be able to afford

you know stuff for themselves and unfortunately

the people that are gonna have to eat that is

gonna be the people going to it and Wanting to

sell stuff like the dealers so It's going to

be very interesting what the future holds. Oh,

well. Sometimes I just don't understand Get Glue.

What? What? I love, OK, for those that don't

know. What the fuck? Shut up. I came at it. For

those that don't know, Get Glue is an online

service that allows you to check into, hold,

shut up. that allows you to check into movies,

TV shows, music, books, whatever else. And for

some shows they have exclusive online and real

stickers that you can earn for free. And for

the Nemesis Prime, Transformers Prime episode

tomorrow night, the sticker is a picture of Raph's

head. I don't understand get glue sometimes.

I don't understand it anytime. I mean... See

a lot of people using it, especially you you

dumb son of a bitch, but I'm using it to shut

the fuck up I do use it Really? It's yeah abuses

it. It's it's a little website. It's One of the

reasons why I use it so much is instead of telling

people hey, I'm watching this I'll check into

it. I'll check into it on get glue and sometimes

depending on what show it is I'll earn a free

sticker for it. And at the end of the month,

if you've earned up to 20 stickers, they will

send them to you for free. Like actual stickers?

Yes. I have sheets of them. Wow. You guys are

nerds. I don't do that. We're cool. Hey, I got

a random thought. Yes? Going back to Transformers.

Transformers Prime cartoon? Yes. No spoilers.

Do you think the human guys that are, you know,

they took Bumblebee's transforming cog thing?

Mech. Mech. Yeah, mech. Do you think they're

building a Nightberg? No. I don't think they're

building a robot one. No? They're building what

you're going to see in next week's episode. We're

going to figure something out. They're building

what you're going to see in, yeah, tomorrow night's

episode. Yeah. Yeah, the Nemesis Prime episode.

Yeah. Because Hasbro... is Hasbro is so, oh my

god, we can never change Optimus Prime's character,

even though we've done it in multiple iterations,

but he can never be a bad guy or else kids won't

buy his toy. So all this stuff, if you go back

and you watch all the mech episodes from Season

1, everything points to them building a copy

of Optimus and calling it Nemesis Prime. Was

hoping night bird though, I mean that that even

though she was only in like what? Reference for

newer newer newer fans Whatever. Yeah that it

that's easy. I speak Japanese. Oh My god, shut

up. It's a bad. Shut up. It's a bad line from

Jeff Dunham Come back in ten minutes. You're

gonna miss a fucking thing Our again Fuji Yama,

yeah Fuji Yama, it's like it's a it's a combination

of Fuji cameras and Yamaha Just stop. You're

making my head hurt. Well, you are from California,

so... Are you reading? Are you really reading

To Kill a Mockingbird, Mike? No, I checked in

for the damn sticker. Oh, you're such a sticker

whore. I know. Sticker whore, sticker whore!

Sticker nerds. They're actually on the list reading

that post. They are, they're sticker nerds. Hey,

we collect stickers. You collect third -party

knockoffs, so... You know what? If those get

banned, I got two of those suckers, so... Can

I buy one? I'm gonna have, like, bank sitting

on my shelf, sir. I will say, most of the third

-party stuff I own is actually just things to

enhance. Hasbro items are ready. So Hasbro already

got their money from me so they can kiss my ass

about these third parties. That's a question.

I'm using it just to enhance their figures. What

about retro labels? Will they be able to use

it? Somebody brought those up. Somebody brought

those up in one of the threads on TFW too because

they do obviously make, you know, mass -produced

stickers to, you know, and again, I think the

spirit Like Kevin was saying, the spirit of the

law and the letter of the law, this is where

it's going to be kind of interesting. Because

the spirit of what Reprolabels is there for is

to reproduce the stickers that we originally

got with G1 Transformers. So the Reprolabels

on my six shot are Reprolabel stickers. I mean,

the ones that I got. Like, when I bought it at

BotCon, I got the sticker sheet. The stickers

weren't applied. But over time, that sticky material

or whatever completely disintegrates. So these

stickers were terrible condition. I'm like, I

can't put these on. They're not going to stick.

So I bought them from Reprolabels. That's the

spirit of what Reprolabels is there for. Now,

they've since branched off, and they're creating

their own kind of stickers to further enhance

these you know so again it's spirit of the law

letter of the law it's it's interesting what's

going to happen with them i don't know i hope

they don't get uh affected because they do provide

a service to people who can get like like my

g1 wheeljack he was in horrible shape um i was

able to fix the paint that was all chipped on

him but his stickers were worn down because you

know he's you know 25 year old toy they're not

gonna be on there anymore so right I was able

to get the repro labels which actually stick

better than the original g1 and He looks almost

brand -new Right. I mean that's and that's and

that's you know again We're gonna we're gonna

have to see what they're gonna do with it now.

Here's my question I'm buying or I bought the

the car release of Well, let's not even use that

because that's from overseas the the the human

alliance or not human alliance the deluxe class

Soundwave I just got him today. It's the Hasbro

version. It's not it's not a Takara version at

all I mean, there's no Takara or there's no Chinese

lettering on there at all. There's a sticker

that's in Chinese, but that's it. That's removable

everything else There's no Chinese on there at

all now if they created a sticker sheet for this

this figure never got released So would I get

or I mean would they get in trouble for making

a sticker sheet for a figure that was never released?

That's a good question Yeah, cuz it's like well,

you can't make you can't make stickers for our

stuff. Well, fuck you. You never released this

toy I don't understand how they can how Hasbro

can go and produce these figures and then just

not release them well, just Losing isn't that

losing them money? Here's the mix Here's the

thing the story with that is that these figures

were originally Created they were they were built

you know some of them got created and then Hasbro

tried to sell them to retailers who in turn did

not want to buy them because The they were waiting

for the most part they were waiting for the Transformers

Prime stuff to come out And they didn't want

to commit to a whole shit ton of other last wave

figures from dark of the moon They were overdone

with dark of the moon. They're like we're finished

with this You know they already have their stuff

there. They're done. They don't want to get a

whole new group of this stuff there They want

to clear out their warehouses of the shit that

they already have and then then they'll get the

transformer prime stuff, so That's when I, you

know, people are like, fuck you Hasbro, how can

you not release these? It's not Hasbro! It was,

it was retailers, it was Walmart, it was Toys

R Us, it was stores like this that didn't want

to get them, and people want to bitch about the

first edition figures. Well, those were created

to exist between Dark of the Moon and the RID

stuff. But, again, nobody wanted it. Nobody wanted

like a one -shot sort of thing, with the exception

of Toys R Us, which didn't even get a lot of

them. So people are like, stupid Hasbro, they

don't distribute their stuff. It's not that.

I got in this huge fight with some guy on the

Reprolabel's fans page, or on the Facebook page

there. And he's bitching about me about it. And

I'm like, dude, do you understand how this works

at all? He's like, well, I asked somebody. I

asked one of the managers at Walmart. And they

said, they only send us what they want to send

us. I'm like, yeah, you moron. Do you understand

that there are things in companies that are called

like, Buyers, they're like buying managers. They

go to companies. You know, I work for Walmart.

I'm going to Hasbro You're gonna lay out all

the stuff in front of me that you have and I'm

gonna say I want that that and that To be sold

in Walmart then you make a contract you make

an agreement You have an arrangement yada yada

yada and that's how you get stuff distributed

to those stores He didn't understand this for

some reason He I'm sitting there trying to you

know and finally he got mad at me. He starts

calling me an asshole I'm like wait a minute.

How am I an asshole for telling you how this

is when you're just being ignorant? He's like

see no you're calling me names I'm like do you

understand what the definition of ignorant is

you don't know this that means you're ignorant

That's not a bad thing just because you don't

know something doesn't mean it's bad But it means

that you're ignorant if you don't know anything

then you're ignorant. That's just that it's people

have taken that word and have put such a negative

connotation to it it just means that you don't

know I mean hell I'm ignorant to how genetics

works I don't know that stuff but people freak

out so he was yelling at me and just going off

it's insane people just like yelling at me that's

because you like yelling at them back I can't

shut up that's that's my biggest problem I I

just you're you're right I just keep you know

I I can walk into my local Walmart and Target

right now and I guarantee you, there's going

to be somewhere in the toy aisle, a mudflap and

skids from Revenza to fucking Fallen. Oh, probably.

That's the problem with these buyers from Walmart

and Target and Toys R Us and everything else.

No, no, no. It's not the problem for that. It's

people don't want to buy them. They commit to

buying as many from Hasbro and nobody else. What

I'm saying is like, you know, they'll buy it.

It's kind of like, you know the The case assortments

let's not even go there but the case god Just

hold on. Hold on. That's it's kind of like the

case assortments You know you have these people

that you know that as Paul just said, you know

Hasbro lays all the stuff out like oh I'll take

ten of those five of those twenty of those six

of those You know, I'll take all this stuff and

they end up, you know What, Revenge of the Fallen

came out in 2009, right? You know, three years

later, they still have, you know, road buster,

mud flapping, electric, you know, electric, like

some weird friggin' repaint. Well, road, well,

road buster. Tuner skids. Well, yeah, road, yeah.

Tuner skids is better, but road buster isn't

Revenge of the Fallen. What I was saying was

essentially a repaint of skids and mud flapping.

Yeah, tuners. You know, the same thing with...

With cases almost it goes to like not only goes

to what stores want to want to purchase from

Hasbro It goes to what Hasbro wants the stores

to buy so kids will buy them you get 50 optimist

primes 75 bumblebees You know two rcs two cliff

jumpers and two rats, you know, maybe it's right

All of this stuff is short -packed in Hasbro,

but but what you put what you don't understand

is again There is a lot of time, these toys were

created and developed and these deals were made

like a half a year to a year before the show

ever premiered. So, unfortunately, that's why

they have cases, that's why they readjust the

cases. Because, you know, everyone's like, we're

coming off of a movie where Bumblebee was the

popular character. As much as we hate to admit

it... Kids love Bumblebee, and that's what this

movie goes to. These movies go towards kids,

not collectors, but they love Bumblebee. Case

in point, I have a million people a day asking

me to fucking review leader class Bumblebee.

It's obnoxious. I hate the thing. Just fucking

do it already so people will quit your bitching.

Yeah, but see, the problem is if I do it, I'm

gonna bitch about it, and then they're gonna

bitch about me bitching about it. So I don't

want to deal with that, so I completely avoid

it. That being said, let's just say half a year.

They don't know... That ratchet that they don't

know that ratchet is gonna come out and become

a fan favorite and everybody's gonna love them

So they readjust the cases later on All right.

Well, you know, here's the thing, you know hasbro

The only excuse hasbro has for not selling any

of their transformers Honestly is rc because

girls toys do not sell. Yeah, no matter no matter

what no matter what line it is Yeah, you know,

I I know a number of you know Number of us fans

that you know some of us absolutely love RC and

will buy one or two or three or four RC's whatever

else for ourselves Whatever else but girls toys

in an effect themselves do not sell outside of

that There should be no reason for Hasbro not

to promote every single character that they have

With giving them equal billing with optimus prime

and bumblebee when it comes to toy numbers and

being in stores And, and, and they've, and they've

adjusted it. I mean, look, look at, like, for

example, one of the biggest adjustments was the,

the, the first, the first wave of Voyager figures.

It was three Optimus Primes and one Megatron,

in a case. They're like, all right, that's not

gonna work. So, they've readjusted it, and now

it's two Primes and two Megatrons per case. So,

they adjust these things. I mean, these are people,

this is, this is Hasbro. These people, they have

been around forever. They know. What is all these?

I'm getting all these weird messages now popping

up in Skype. What are you people sending me to

watch here? Oh, for the love of God! Who said

that? Who actually said that? It was me. Son

of a bitch. I did it just for you, buddy. I'm

gonna stab you directly in your penis. Oh god,

no! What the hell is wrong with you, Bob? Even

I know not to do that, oh my god. I was stirring

the pot. I wanted to hear from you. If you sent

me to Pixel Dan, that would have been like, okay,

whatever, but no! You had to send him to the

shlong. No, but look under, it says, subscribe

to Pixel Dan. Of course. So it was it was the

best of both worlds I watched one pixel damn

video. I will never watch another please don't

because they're horrible. You know what? He stole

my bit Shut up. He stole my bit Stole the Cobra

Khan bit for me. Yep. That's why I sent it to

you cuz yeah In regards to Pixel Dan, the only

reason, and I've told Paul this before, the only

reason why I even knew about him was I found

his original web show that he did a while ago,

it's now since ended, That New Toy Smell, and

it was a really interesting web show, and then

I was just getting back into Masters of the Universe,

and I found out about the classics toy line from

MOTU, and at the time, minus... the stupid schlong

who i can't listen to because he sounds like

a fucking child rapist hey but he did a review

of michael keithan son of a bitch the only reason

why i watch pixel dan and i i've talked to him

before i like he's an alright guy he's a decent

guy i've podcasted with him before he's alright

but the only reason why i still watch his videos

is because he is the only one that does fairly

decent Masters universe classics reviews now.

I know Paul. I know Paul has started doing them

again, but Paul stopped I did you know a couple

years ago Paul stopped doing them, so it's like

There was nowhere else for you to go. This is

the only place. I have to go obviously okay,

but even I issues with pixel Dan because He did

hey guys. This is pixel Dan, and this is a pub

marshmallow man. He comes apart for easy storage

Yeah, his arms come off in his legs, just to

make it easy. But see, here's the thing, though.

He's not a bad guy. He doesn't know how to talk

without Mattel's penis in his mouth. Wow. Amen.

I mean, I make no... And this is where Mike edits

a lot of my stuff. I make no qualms when I do

not like somebody. I had this argument last night

with a guy. I mean he called me an asshole and

I I will freely admit that I'm an asshole my

biggest problem And I know it and I recognize

it is that I do not have that brain mouth filter

Whatever I think whatever I think I say and a

lot of times it comes across as a very Asshole

-ish sort of thing for me to say and that's that's

just the way it is. I understand it I recognize

it It's how I am if you can deal with it great

if not fuck you. I don't really care. You know

When it comes to Dan, I don't have a problem

with him, per se. I have a problem with the way

he goes about handling his business. I don't

care what anybody says about how good of a review

he is. That's fine. Here's Fisto. This is the

most accurate looking figure. This is what Masters

of the Universe classic figures are all about.

Except for the fact that Fisto didn't have brown

hair. Oh, and that's another one. The - the Viggo

figure. Oh, look how accurate this is. This is

such an accurate -looking figure. Oh my god,

that Viggo - Viggo figure sucked! It's terrible.

I watched - I - in every now and then, I - I

- I admit it. I do watch Pixel Dan because he

gets stuff before anybody else. So I have to

watch it. But I watched his recent review of

the Ghostbuster, uh, uh, rookie figure. That

thing looks like a piece of shit that came out

of an elephant's ass. It looks terrible. And

he just sits there and he loves it. Now - for

whatever reason, he does his reviews the way

he does. My problem that I have with Dan is that

way back in the day, and I've said this to you

before, I think, Mike, when we were doing reviews,

when me and JT Mitchell were doing master's reviews,

we were posting them on heman .org. And basically,

it was, okay, Pixel Dan is gonna get preferential

treatment, he can create his own threads, you

guys can't. We don't want you guys to create

threads for your individual reviews, because

we don't want them cluttering things up. There

are only three people in the world that were

doing Masters of the Universe classic video reviews,

and it was us three. But Dan didn't want to basically

have competition, and he was the official reviewer

for He -Man .org, and we got pushed off to the

side. Now, I personally believe it was because,

you know, and I tried reaching out to Mattel

to get stuff, and I even asked Dan, I said, How

can I go about it? How can I get in touch with

them? And he's like, oh, I don't think that they're

going to want anybody else. They have enough

people already that review their stuff. I'm like,

really? They have enough people? Because I'm

sorry, but you get a figure two months in advance.

And in one day, I'll have more views on that

video than you will in two months. Why? I mean,

and I know that sounds cocky to say. It sounds

arrogant, and I'm an asshole for saying it. But

a fact is a fact. I mean, I mean. it sounds bad

but i mean and i'm not mincing words with it

but it's a fact so i'm like why wouldn't they

want to work with me that doesn't make any sense

dan except dan didn't want to give me any information

so that i could work with them so i even he could

kiss my ass i okay on I went on Mattel's website.

I looked everywhere. I found an email address.

I sent an email. I have yet to get a response

from Mattel in any way. But didn't you tell me

that his initial contact came from somebody who...

That's what I thought, and then Dan was like,

oh no, that's not what happened at all. I don't

know. That's a whole shit and... Yeah, but can't

you ask that person? You're still in contact

with him, aren't you? Yeah. So can't you ask

him? I'm not saying ask him for the email address,

because at this point in time I don't really

care. The only thing I would really be interested

in reviewing from them would be the Voltron stuff.

And you're already paying for the shit anyways.

Right, exactly. It doesn't matter to me. I'm

not going to get it as early as him, but whatever.

And the nature of the way they do their sales

and stuff... You know that that's one thing that

kind of keeps me from wanting to do reviews from

still because when I review them They're already

sold out. There's nothing. Yeah. No, so it's

I can't tell sorry guys You can't get this on

Maddie collector, but you can go on eBay and

paying them enormous around money Or you can

go on big toy store or whatever benefit. That's

the only real benefit to run early, you know,

and I mean I would like that I wouldn't mind

but My point is, I mean, that's what Dan has

said about, oh, no, that's not how I got the

contact information, blah, blah, blah, whatever.

Normally, I watch Dan's master's reviews. That's

really all I care to watch. Well, I asked you

the other day if he's gotten the yellow line,

because that comes out. I would have linked you

to it. I would have linked you to it by now if

he had put the video up. There are some things,

like I said, that I am interested in seeing.

Right. And unfortunately, he's the only one that

does them. Right. I don't like watching them.

So usually I have to keep the volume. Right now

at this moment is that I was expecting some sort

of cool, you know, review for... the most controversial

figure in Masters Classics right now, the Mighty

Spector, which was Scott Gruber Nightlake's design

figure. However, Dan decided to go ahead and

make an April Fool's joke out of the video, and

he reviews a Marvel Deadpool figure. Yeah, I

saw that. And I'm like, are you serious? god

give me a fucking break because the whole point

of kissing ass he doesn't want to go there yeah

but okay what's so fucked up about the mattel

masters universe classics 30th anniversary line

it's to homage the contest that they had back

in the 80s it has nothing to do with the actual

30th anniversary of the fucking property right

that's what pisses me off Right, exactly. And

the thing that's aggravating is the fact that

Scott Knightlick, you know, the toy guru himself,

somehow still manages to get his figure that

he created in the line. Like, what? Well, because

back in the 80s, he sent it in. He sent it in,

sure, but my question is, did it actually do

anything? Did it actually place? I mean, hell,

anybody could have sent one in. My guess is that

he just sent one in and was like, oh, this is

what I did. And now, because it's his design,

Mattel had to buy that design from him. Yeah.

Ass fuckers. That's all there is to it. Is there

anything else we want to talk about tonight,

guys? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Teenage

Mutant Ninja Girls. There you go. Teenage Mutant

Ninja Girls. No, no, no, no, no. How did the

nostalgia critic say it? I showed you that last

week, Mike. Yeah, I know. Something boobies explosions.

Yeah, yeah. Where did you see the information

that they were turning Donatello into a girl?

You know, somebody had linked it. I don't have

anymore, but here's the thing with that whole

situation. People have now since come out and

said that that was just an April Fool's Day joke

because it was posted on April 1st. So, nobody

knows. Really. I mean, nobody honestly knows.

My thing, I sit there and I still bitch at people

about this because people want to bitch about

that. And you know what? I am... You know, Mike,

I'm a huge Ninja Turtle fan. I know. And here's

the one thing I need to get this... I need to

finish this, otherwise I'm gonna forget. Go ahead,

go ahead. Donatello is my favorite character.

I mean, it's well -documented that I have specific

favorite characters in many franchises. You know,

there's... Strawberry Shortcake. Strawberry Shortcake?

Oh my god. He's Viggo! He's Viggo! Anyhow, I

mean, in certain, you know, aspects and genres

and things of that, I have my favorite characters,

and Donatello was one of my favorites, obviously.

Now, they're like, well, you know, I'm like,

why does it matter if Donatello is a girl or

not? As long as the character, you know, I mean,

it wasn't about if they were boys or girls. It

was Leonardo was the leader. You know, Mikey

was kind of the party guy. Raph was, you know,

the asshole smart ass kind of guy. And Donnie,

Donnie was the smart techie person. Why does

it matter? As long as he, as long as she is still

the techie person. I mean, as long as you're

true to that, you know, character trait, I don't

see why it matters. I'm like, I could probably

get along with it. But then someone's like, well,

would you be pissed off if in the next Transformer

movie, Wheeljack was a girl? I'm like, come on.

Really, you're gonna throw that in my face. It's

a good point but I mean it really is kind of

pointless because why why really why does it

matter and everyone you know people are mad about

the whole alien thing and It's like, you know,

I've since gone back and I've read the comic

books to refamiliarize myself with it And this

is something that I completely forgot that in

the original comic books The turtles were mutated

by ooze that was alien in nature Right, okay.

The ooze was from another planet. Okay, but here's

the thing, though, okay? This is something I

didn't get to bring up in episode 12 when we

originally talked about this, okay? Now, I actually

have the ninja turtles, since it's not Teenage

Mutant, Alien, whatever. Right, right. They're

just calling it ninja turtles now. I have the

IMDB Pro information up here. They have, the

last time I mentioned this, they were courting

a director by the name of Jonathan Libsman, Libbersman

or whatever his name is. They have now set him

as the director. The project is currently in

pre -production. Here's the thing I didn't get

to point out in episode 12. George Lucas. Okay,

George Lucas, director of, you know, majority

of the Star Wars films. OK, stop. You know, creator

of Star Wars, everything else, okay? George Lucas

has an executive producer credit on Star Wars,

the Clone Wars cartoon. However, George Lucas

doesn't go to conventions and open his big fat

rich fucking mouth and say, oh, Star Wars is

now going to solely take place on Earth and we

are not doing anything else in space. That was

my one problem with Michael fucking Bay opening

his fucking mouth at whatever fucking convention

it was. that he opened his fucking mouth with.

Why not have one of the writers or whoever tell

people or other producers, the only thing he's

fucking doing with this movie is he's fucking,

his company is fucking producing it. Do you think

maybe, I don't know, just maybe Michael Bay was

at this little convention and the thing, like

hey, hey Mike. What's your new, um, what's your

new digital company? What's it working on? Blubble.

Well, you know, we're working on the new Ninja

Turtle movie. Okay, but the - Really? What's

that gonna be? Well, we're gonna have Ninja Turtle

- You are correct. Someone may have asked him

that question, but here's the thing. The way

the news was brought out, the video that they

showed was just him answering the question, whatever

the question was. They didn't show someone asking

a fucking question. Well, yeah, because that's

not the news story. The news story is whatever

he's talking about. Anyways... I'm just saying

that everybody wants to bitch about the turtles

possibly being alien in origin, or an alien race,

I should say. And I'm like, you know what? If

this is handled properly, I think it could work.

You know, they're mutants. I mean, they can be...

Why do they have to be mutated from... Something

else. I mean, I mean it doesn't matter. Like

you were saying the ooze did have alien origins.

Here's the thing. If Michael Bay had actually

put a thought in his fucking worthless brain

to articulate the words that he wanted to say

instead of just calling them an alien race and

said, hey, what we're doing fans is... Oh, wait,

hold on. You ever think that maybe he just misspoke?

Yes. It's possible he just misspoke. Right, but

what I'm saying is he should have, you know,

actually used his brain before he opened his

mouth and words, stupid words came out of it.

That's what I'm saying is if they are paying,

you know, we don't know. We have no clue what

this is going to be. It's not, you know, it's

only in pre -production, you know. None of us

have seen the script all well and good fine everybody's

take a chill pill blah blah blah whatever My

point is if he had articulated his words enough

to where it could have been like a promotion

of hey You know the ootroms are gonna be in it

They created the ooze that mutates the turtles

blah blah, but no he just said they're a fucking

alien race That's you know, that's where it's

going to be Misconstrued and misinformation.

It's fucking transformers 2007 all fucking over

again with the goddamn misinformation campaigns

This is me off You need to get laid Shut down

That's all there is to it that's terrible I should've

said that I'm sorry Mike Now kiss the makeup

Anyhow Anyhow what else is there anything else

that you gentlemen would like to ramble about

I Don't know I think the big thing for this week

was just you know, the whole has bro stuff has

bro stuff that We covered that for like an hour

and a half. Yeah I mean, you know I am still,

you know, I've said this entire time, I'm still

excited to see the news that comes out of BotCon

and I'm still excited to see people's videos

that they may do of meeting Peter Cullen or Dan

Gilvazan or whatever else, but at this point,

I just don't give a shit about this year's convention.

Well, I mean, the convention itself, I mean,

you still have to look at it as this is still

a meetup. On a huge global scale right the fans,

you know, and that's that's one thing that you

got out You know that if I could if it could

you know If it was closer put it this way if

it was closer to where I am I would have just

bought like the weekend tickets. I wanted about

the Primus package I would have just bought the

weekend tickets to just go there and hang out

with people You know because that's the fun thing

to really do hang out with your friends meet

people that You know you've interacted with I

mean hell last year I had kids that came up to

me asked me I had you know I mean one of my best

memories From last year was and I I wish I knew

the kids name I wish you would message me and

tell me hey I was that kid, but there's this

little kid. I don't know he was 10, 11 years

old. No, it wasn't Burt. No, Burt only has the

mentality of 11 years old. Well, that's true.

That's true. Yeah, this person was actually physically

like 10, 11 years old. You know, he came up to

me with his dad and his dad looks at me. He's

like he's like he wanted to come up to you. And

I'm like, oh, yeah, you know, hey, how are you?

He's like, I watch your videos. They're so good.

Blah, blah, blah. And he's like, would you mind

if I had your pictures or picture taken with

you? I'm like, sure, that's cool. So I mean,

he's a little short guy, and I'm a tall guy.

So I kneel down, and his dad takes the picture.

And I go up to his dad, and I shook his hand.

I'm like, thanks for letting him come over and

say hi to me. He's like, no problem. He saw you,

and he was kind of nervous to come up and say

anything. And I just kind of poked him, and I'm

like, go over and say hi to him. that was fun

for me that was that was awesome you know and

that's that's the cool stuff you know i mean

walk around the dealer floor hanging out with

people i mean i got to meet some cool people

i finally got to meet nicole hailstorm i finally

got to meet um andy cobra commander you know

who came all the way from the uk for this i mean

he was cool to meet i met i mean i met shawn

long so i mean there's that i mean i wouldn't

i wouldn't be uh i know i know but i mean it

was it was still you know one of those things

like hey it's the experience i'll go up and i'll

say hi to sean and you know i mean i met i mean

there were so many people that i met you know

that that was that was cool i didn't go up and

i didn't go meet peter cullen i went to the script

reading and i mean Another really kind of cool

thing, as much as I hated it at the time, Sean

Long actually got to read the script of Megatron,

or the lines for Megatron, at the script reading.

Creepiest Megatron ever. Yeah, and I'm like,

but you know what? It was fun! That's the whole

idea. It was really terrible. His Megatron, for

some reason, for people that know Sean Long,

for some reason his Megatron and his Batman sound

exactly the same. You know, I mean, but it was

the fun experience of going and doing it. Like

I said, if it was close and I didn't have to

spend a lot of money to get there, I would totally

just go there for that experience again. And

that's what I hope people take out of it. Not

walking around the dealer room floor and that

kind, you know, I mean, the news that comes out

of it is awesome. You know, there's a lot of

new stuff that we're gonna be seeing that we

should be excited about. Well, see, here's the

thing. Like we said earlier, the dealer room

every year, doesn't matter what year it is, doesn't

matter who's there, everything is overpriced,

everything is this, everything is that, whatever

else. You can't haggle with these people half

the time. And if you do, the dealer room, you

should honestly save for the very last day, the

very last 20 minutes of the convention where

these dealers want to get rid of everything that

they still have. And they'll essentially give

it away to you for a nominal that isn't eight

hundred fucking thousand dollars right see um

one of my friends who lives over here his name

happens also be bob he was at bot con last year

because his sister lives in pasadena yeah he

was actually helping out at the captured prey

table oh really and um He said because they were

willing to deal with people they were making

money hand over fist. Oh, yeah Well, yeah I mean

that's the thing if if you're willing to wheel

and deal and you know and give people a decent

enough deal on something that you know that You're

gonna get all the business in the world Here's

the thing with botcon for me if I ever get to

go the first time I'm mainly gonna focus on you

know meeting You know voice actors and stuff

like that that I've never met before getting

autographs everything else I'll still focus on

you know, whoever's there if I run into Paul

or if I run into The slimeblower or whatever,

you know, but it's one of those things I want

to focus on what the convention has to offer

first and then worry about you know Who's you

know, what friends are there afterwards? Well

part part of the problem is The scheduling of

things you know it's like there's some things

that are scheduled at times that You know it

leaves such a lull in between that you know the

only thing that you can do is really Walk the

convention or the the dealer room floor Yeah,

so you're kind of you're kind of screwed with

that. Yeah Well, I mean if you get up early enough,

you know, you could almost be the first one in

line for Peter Cullen Versus, you know waiting

till 10 a .m. And like the lines if they let

you do that because last year they wouldn't even

let you line up yet Oh really? Wow. Yeah. Well,

they didn't have the line set up you're just

kind of hanging out in a hallway and You were

just kind of screwed and then it was the way

that they did it was kind of shitty because it's

like What? Thunder don't punch I gotta I'm getting

that that sucks, too I'm not too thrilled about

that, but um the I can't remember what what panel

it was it was like the Hasbro panel ended and

you had to decide if you wanted to go to Maybe

it wasn't the Hasbro panel. Maybe it was something

else Yeah, no. No, the natural panel ended. You

had to decide whether you wanted to go to the

script reading or the Transformers Prime panel.

Right. And so you're kind of screwed. You're

like, shit, what do I go to? And then when the

autograph signing happened, it's like, do you

want to get a line for the autographs or do you

want to see something else? Something else started

at the same time. Yeah. And it's like. You know,

you would think that they have like four days.

Well, hold on. Part of that was because Peter

Cullen was a surprise guest. Right. He was never

announced at the thing. I mean, people saw him

walking around, and we figured out what was going

on. Right. But it wasn't announced beforehand

that Peter Cullen was going to be there. And

then for the longest time, some idiot said that

they saw Frank Welker. Walking around which then

ever been well Yeah, and this was gonna be the

first one that he'd ever been to so everybody

was freaking out about that That's why a lot

of people really wanted to get into the the script

reading because they thought he was gonna be

there for that he was gonna walk out and Be there

for that, but that ended up not happening, but

a lot of you know that that script reading was

like jam -packed and Rightly so but I mean there's

a lot of people that were there thinking that

Frank was gonna be there, too You know, one of

these days, Frank is just gonna say, OK, sure,

I'll go. And every fanboy and fangirl is just

going to rejoice. What the hell? That's somebody

outside revving their motorcycle. Crotch rocket.

Rose has been trying to convince Frank to go

to a BotCon forever. And she can't. What's the

reason? Do you know why he won't? He just doesn't

want to be around that many people. He's a very

private person in real life. He's very down to

earth and just doesn't want to be around that

many people. That's what it comes down to. And

that's fair. I mean, that's, I mean. And it wouldn't

be fair to the fans if he went and they capped

it at like 50 people, like a line of 50 people.

That wouldn't be fair to the, you know, 10 ,000

others that want to meet him. Right. I think

it would be kind of cool if he would show up.

Do a like a Transformers Prime panel or do whatever

panel just leave and then just leave Yeah, you

know just to kind of you know just to say that

oh my god Frank Welker went to BotCon. You know

what? It's Frank has done so much Essentially,

you know for the last 30 40 years. He has been

the current generation Mel blank. The guy does

everything He just does. He's been voicing Freddy

on Scooby -Doo since 1969. He's been doing Megatron

for nearly 30 years. And, you know, I've said

this before. Everybody was so, you know, surprised

and happy that he and Peter were going to reunite

to do Prime, but also they were like, oh my God,

it's going to be G1 Megatron all over again.

We don't want to hear that shit again. You know,

and what happened was he, instead of talking,

you know, up high in a higher register, which

is what the G1 Megatron voice is, he lowered

his voice and started using the back of his throat

to make the voice that we have now in Prime.

And I'm glad for that because it sounds a lot

better. It sounds different. I mean, it works

for this character. I mean, this character, I

mean, Transformers Prime in general is a much

darker kind of show, obviously, than a 1980s

cartoon. You know, I mean, one thing that I will

say about Frank is that a lot of people are like,

you know, he needs to come out here. You know,

he needs to do BotCon. You know, the man has

given us so much already. He doesn't owe us anything.

No, not at all. If he doesn't want to come to

BotCon, God bless him. He's given us other stuff

that we can work with and be fans of. You know,

so... I've said it many times here at geek cast

radio network where if we ever got an interview

with him We would just say Frank. We have prepared

no questions for you Have all of your characters

talk to each other for an hour, you know because

I mean it's like like when I got my first interview

with Tara strong I Spent two and a half days.

Did you ask her for her phone number? I Spent

two and a half days. I would have trying. What's

your broad? What's your bra size? Just look at

her Facebook pictures, you can tell from that.

Anyway, I spent two and a half days trying to

think of questions for her because I went through

her IMDB page and I'm like, oh my God, she has

done so much. My brain literally broke. So if

we ever got Frank Welker for an interview, we

would just say, hey, Frank, just have a conversation

with yourself and we'll record it. And that'll

be the interview. How can you let, you know,

our interviews are generally maybe 10 to 20 questions,

because most of these people only have 30 minutes,

45 minutes, an hour to dedicate just to us. I

think it's only been ever been one interview

that went over two hours, which was Bob Skewer

from Beast Machines. You know, so we have to

limit and focus on what we want to ask these

people. And with Frank, it would just be. Go

nuts. Just do voices cuz we would know what to

ask him Cuz he's done so much But no, you're

right. He doesn't owe us anything and no one

should feel like he should because you know Hey,

like I said, it would be great if he would just

go for a panel and then leave that would be awesome

But you know, you know, it was really cool as

soon as Peter Cullen. Yeah walked out on stage

Everybody stood up. Everybody was clapping One

thing that I love about that man is he is very

humble with his fame in this community. And he

gets up there and you can see that that man gets

embarrassed. He gets right in the face and he

just sits there and he's so embarrassed by all

of this. I mean, he's so grateful. It's always

funny. It's hilarious when we're clapping and

then you've got the likes of Jeffrey Combs and

Ernie Hudson. and kevin michael you know you

have all these people that are standing next

to them and they just turn around and they're

looking at him and they're smiling because they're

like shit dude you see this you know they're

amazed at the the reception that that peter cullen

gets and it's absolutely amazing i mean there

was there was what was it I mean, they all just

have a good time with one another. And you see,

and I don't know any of the kids' names, and

I don't really care to know the names. But you

see the younger kids who play Miko, Jack, and

Raf. Raf. I don't care. I don't care. I'm not

going to. I know, but I'm just telling other

people that might want to know. It's Andy. I

forget what Raf's voice actor's last name is.

It's Andy. Tania and Josh Keaton does Jack. You

see these guys sitting there and Josh Keaton,

he was asked, what do you think? And this was

another really cool thing. We're sitting there.

And he's like, it's amazing that I'm getting

to work with Peter Cullen. He's like, when I

was a kid, I loved Transformers. And I always

wanted a G1 Optimus Prime toy. Next thing you

know, five minutes later, some dealer came running

in the room. with the Optimus Prime toy and gave

it to him. And Josh straight up walks over to

Peter Cullen and asks him to sign it. And he

did it right there. I mean, it was freaking awesome

that it's, I mean, that's just the way that Peter

Cullen is. I mean, he's amazed. I think it was

the 2004 BotCon where they presented him with

a masterpiece, MP01. Yeah, I think so. And he

was just floored. He's like, oh, this is so great.

Like Paul said, the guy is very, very humble.

He respects the fandom that... that he is in

and he just absolutely loves it. Yeah. You know,

and he recognizes the fandom and said, hey, you

know, if it wasn't for you guys, I would not

be doing this right now. Right. You know, everyone

makes jokes. I've made jokes. Paul's made jokes.

Everyone in the fandom has made jokes of, you

know, what if Peter Cohen passes away? Hasbro

is just going to, you know. Put him on ice and

have him do Optimus Prime forever. We can all

make those jokes, but in all honesty, he is a

very awesome down -to -earth guy. I don't remember

where I saw it, but I saw it on a sign or a picture

or something like that. I saw it for a limited

time. Maybe that's what it was, because it was

recently. For a limited time, there's a website.

torn or something like that. Ripped apparel.

Yeah, they make t -shirts for a very limited

time. And there was a shirt that had Peter Cullen

ripping open his shirt a la Superman. And underneath

it was the chest of Optimus Prime. And if I'm

not mistaken, somewhere on there, it said the

voice of a generation. It's absolutely true.

I mean Peter Cullen is the voice of a generation

and he would not be where he is today without

the fandom He recognizes that as you said it

was the fandom that got him the gig with Michael

Bay Yeah, I mean hell they tried they tried with

Frank Welker But that that didn't turn out and

you know what and honestly I didn't mind it because

there were some voice clips going around of him

Yeah, Frank doing it and he Frank can't do that

particular version. Well, yeah exactly because

at the time Transformers Prime hadn't even been

thought of obviously And they didn't give him

the direction of, hey, can you still do Megatron

but do him lower? So he was still thinking in

his, and again, I'm not in the man's head, but

I'm assuming that he was still thinking of, oh,

I need to do the high G1 voice. And you're right,

it wasn't that great. I mean, let's face it,

that hurts the vocal cords. Right, exactly. It's

tough to do now. I mean, that was 20 years ago.

I mean, it's hard to go there again. You know

you know and I mean and when you listen to you

know Optimus Prime now in the movies And then

you listen to them from the cartoon from the

80s totally different sounding, but it works

for them in this new you know generation and

It's it is it is what it is Peter Cohen badass

some of my bitch. Yeah, you know when I said

you know Couple episodes ago or I've said another

podcast, you know Transformers prime sure some

people may have issues with it But the way I

see it is the way that the creators have said

that they see it because I've listened to the

commentaries on the season 1 DVD You know, this

is you know, they their goal with this cartoon

is This is you know our you know, if any of you

know, Kevin and Bob have kids, you know, this

is their kids Transformers generation This is

you know, this is a show that you can show your

kids just like rescue bots, you know, right?

You know rescue bots might be the silliest dumbest

thing ever to most of us old fogey fans that

want the more adult stories as far as you know,

What Transformers Prime is but you know, hey,

that's that's something for kids there too and

this new generation I'm loving I have yet to

really Hate an episode of Transformers Prime

There have been certain things that I've kind

of been why did they do that? But Overall from

season one to right now upcoming. I've absolutely

loved every bit of this cartoon. I'm a fan. I'm

a fan. You're a fan, but you're a questionable

fan. I'm only questionable because we haven't

seen the whole thing yet. That's the only problem.

Right. It has a good story. I do know for a fact

that they have been picked up for a third season,

so that's just awesome. Everybody knows that

dummy. I know. But I'm just saying like it's

like it's not going like they're really behind

this and it's because it's not on Cartoon Network

And it didn't get fucked over by a stupid movie

that was put out because of a writer's strike,

you know Shut up. There's a lot of other movies

that suffered during that time to not just transformers.

I Don't care if transformers suffered what suffered

was animated. But anyway, let's not go there.

Yeah. Yeah Rest in peace. Yes You know, but I

can't wait to see what they come out with more

generations toys and all that stuff, just to

see what's coming out and everything else. And

hopefully, I'll get my hands on some of those

suckers. Yes. Yes, you will. And then you can

get reviews with people I actually watch. Oh,

boy, Loba. What? What? I'm kidding. I'm kidding.

Come on. You ass. Asshole. Well, yeah, it's I

was thinking that before I was like cuz uh cuz

Ben posted his videos for for knockout and What

was it? Oh the via con? Yeah shit. I got to post

my video for the I think it was like human alliance

sound waiver or something like nobody's gonna

want to see that to go I'm gonna want to watch

that crap. Yeah, but you know the the thing with

knockout is he looked great That's why we changed

the paint apps No, not even - I could even care

less about the pain apps. His torso looks stupid.

Even the proper transformation version of him

looks stupid. Yeah. Not a fan of it. But you're

still gonna buy him. Yeah. Well, duh. He will.

See? See? They got you anyway, sucker. That's

how it works. That's how it works. We're all

suckers. Yes, yes we are. Should we end on that

starting to suck your mama. I don't know what

that means. I don't know what that means We've

been at it for over two hours. So what do you

think? Shut up Bob said fuck you guys. I'm going

to bed. No, I'm still here. Oh, hi Bob. Hi You

haven't said nothing for like an hour. That's

cuz we won't shut up. We haven't shut up for

him to say anything I told you we couldn't get

him working on this. Yeah, that's true. You did

warn us. What do you think about Transformers

Prime Bob? Treefitty. That has nothing to do

with the fucking gargoyle. I need about Treefitty.

Bob needs about a jazz on that show and Bob would

be happy. I'll keep it like, all right. Let's

talk about jazz. Let's talk about jazz because

we've seen jazz in G1. We've seen him in other

iterations. The most, at least in my opinion,

the best one was G1 and animated as far as the

cartoons go. But what are they like, you know,

what are they going to do with jazz? I mean,

are they going to make - He's part of the records.

There you go. Okay. Why is he part of the Wreckers?

He never was. Neither was Seaspray, no. Neither

was Wheeljack. Neither was Seals. Wheeljack wasn't

in the comics. But yeah, Seaspray wasn't. Yeah,

Seaspray, yeah. I wanted to actually see what

he'd look like. That's the idea. Told you, go

look at the corner of the pile of dirt. That's

what he looks like. Shut up. You need to calm

down. You just need to calm yourself. Never.

I've seen pictures of what Nemesis Prime is going

to look like. It looks just like Optimus. I wanted

like the black with the purple, like, you know,

the G2. Oh, so it looks a little, it looks a

little off. It's like it's Optimus's colors,

but they're slightly. Off. Yeah, I want to essentially

g1 a prime problem where there's two optimist

primes and they're exactly the same Exactly.

I wanted a pure black one, you know The more

I hear about tomorrow night or Saturday night's

episode that just passed the more I don't want

to watch it now It's it's like it's yeah. I mean,

it's just like a muted Not not as bright color.

Yeah It's like that the red is dull The blue

is dull, and it's just, you can tell it's not

really optimist. Don't they know you have to

make an evil character black in order to be evil?

No, no, no, no, no. You make the evil character

with a goatee and a mustache. That's how you

do it. That would be awesome. Shut up. That was

flexo. Oh, fuck you. All you do is you stick

a little tiny Like mustache or little little

goatee thing out here. Instant evil. Instant

evil. Instant evil. Dr. Evil. Or like in the

South Park episode where they came from the alternate

universe and the evil Cartman was nice. Oh, I

don't think I have ever seen that episode. I

don't want to see that episode. It's actually

pretty good. I just can't see Cartman is nice.

I mean That's what makes it more enjoyable What

the hell? Send us a picture of knockout and some

weird -looking zombie chicks. That's that's Johnny

Depp you dork in He looks like he should be all

drag race Johnny Depp from Alice in Wonderland.

It looks just like Arcee. Arcee. Same face. I

know. Or not Arcee. Knockout. Knockout, yeah.

What the hell? God. Oh, boy. All right, so I

think that's going to do it for this week. We've

been here for two hours and 25 minutes. I got

to go work out. Steve Megatron's going to kill

me, because the file size for this thing is going

to be huge. Lovely. Steve Megatron can kiss my

ass, so what? Don't you have to pay him to you

know, I got I got a message him because I'm not

buying nothing this month because I got Paying

like $400 for a Batmobile and a Batman Well,

that's that's not happening this month or no.

No, it was last month that that all was happening

I'm gonna I'm still gonna have Steve do it for

me But I'm gonna have to wait till next month

because all my extra money for this month went

to fucking paying the IRS Oh lovely, you know

a bunch of sons of bitches. Yeah, all you people.

Oh, yeah I want to make all this money with YouTube.

Yeah until you have to pay the internal revenue

service Okay, I can give you advice about that

Not pay them no no no no what you need to do

get an ing account and Every check you get from

YouTube take 20 % of it put in that ing account

Just leave it there all year because you'll get

a huge amount of interest built up on all year

and then you use that to pay off the IRS. That's

actually not a bad idea. My biggest problem was

all my savings went away because of my previous

endeavors, which was a fucking waste of time.

Makes me mad now. And that combined with the

fact that it was seven times how much I paid

last year. Good lord. Which I did not expect

it to jump that much. I actually thought it would

go down. So before we get too personal, I want

to thank everyone for joining us here on Team
