TeamBotimus Variety Hour
Toy Collecting, YouTube Struggles, and Podcast Friendships

About this Episode
Ladies and gentlemen, since I, TF2, and Mike
produce and edit and do everything to do with
the Team Botomus variety hour, I've made an executive
decision and kicked Optobotomus off his own podcast.
BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA! BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA! Nah, I'm just
kidding. Paul will be on the show, but, uh, Bob
Gilmer... and Kevin Bollinger, Darth Devious,
and I am terming Bob, unless we come up with
another nickname for him, I'm terming him Slime
Blower Bob, since he loves Ghostbusters. So he'll
be Bob Slime Blower Gilmer. For this episode,
we recorded two hours plus, a little bit. And
we just wanted to get a feel and a test for what
the three of us were going to sound like as far
as chemistry and everything else. Since I recorded
it and it was two hours of fun, I figured why
not make it Team Bottomless Variety Hour episode
13. Please note, the audio quality from Kevin
and Bob isn't the best in the world. It's not
horrible. It's not unpublishable. But there are
times where Kevin you know fades to the point
where it sounds like he's at the end of the dark
tunnel and Biff is you know careening down in
the Ford convertible or Excuse me. I don't have
the the model of Ford that Biff drove in back
to the future You know readily at my will and
beckon call to figure out what the name of the
goddamn model of the car is So and and Bob was
actually Mr. Slime blower was actually using
Skype through his new iPad He's professional.
Haha. So Here you go team bottomless variety
our Episode 13. I hope you guys enjoy it. Why
throw away your life so recklessly connections
out there Singapore or something and He's like
here take this I'm like Dude, I can't afford
to pay you because he was asking 40 bucks for
it because of how much he paid for him I said
I can't afford it. He said you pay me whenever
you can said even it takes six years from now
you pay me so then uh shortly after Christmas
I said to him. I still don't know when I got
paid you for that optimist prime He goes I forgot
all about that consider it your Christmas present
Like I love the toy like I love a lot of the
toys and I love the fact that a lot of people
not a lot of people but some of the people that
have been fans of us at geek cast radio that
have sent me stuff and and and that's all well
and good and that's awesome, but I just can't
justify Going out and buying toys anymore. I
just can't I'm you know I turned 32 this year
a couple months ago and I just have kind of lost
the interest and, you know, I don't have... 2008,
2009, I had essentially a very fully disposable
income. I was making about, I don't know, $2
,000 a month with the job that I had and after
losing that job... because they had to cut back
on budget and everything else you know I just
don't have the extra money now to be going and
spending on toys that you know as I said earlier
that I would essentially just go to sell them
three or four weeks later because I just don't
know I don't know I like I still love the art
of toy collecting, but actually doing it, no.
And the whole thing with fucking Maddie collector.
Oh God. They put left a bad taste in your mouth.
Yeah, essentially. Yes. And I don't care if they
report me to a collection agency whatsoever because
I've since quote unquote lost my credit card
and I've never updated it with them because I'm
no longer getting figures from them because of
that. You know, it's just like one of those things
where honestly, the Turtles classics that they
announced and showed off, that was going to get
me back in. But at the same time, I still can't
justify spending money on stuff that's just going
to sit on my desk. You know, I just, I kind of
grown out of it, I guess. I still love watching
Paul's reviews and Bob's reviews and I've seen
a couple of your stuff, Kevin, but I don't regularly
watch them yet. I've only got 70 videos. I've
only got 118, but most of mine are all paranormal
stuff from all the investigations. I think your
wife needs to be more present in your channel.
That was much funnier when Candice was on. It
was like, no, you're not opening this. She tells
me that so much dude. I can review a toy a day
for a whole year with all the Star Wars stuff
We have but I can't open them because they're
hers. It's kill me Just luckily I got to do the
episode one figures that I did because we had
doubles Yeah, that I can't open anything She's
like the biggest Star Wars guy, you know nerd
in the world and I look at him the wrong way.
She goes crazy on me It's like the dark of the
moon record figures. I can't I can't review them.
They're not mine. They're hers Do it She doesn't
want to do it. I asked her should you want to
redo it? No Whatever. I'm trying to get my wife
to do more But you know, it's hard for her to
do it because she's like in public eye with being
an author And if she says something the wrong
way, you know, she could lose a lot of readers.
It's weird Well, yeah, no, I mean, you know and
I'm not saying that you know She has to say the
wrong thing or whatever else, but I mean I just
thought it was so funny That you started a review
and then all of a sudden here she comes is like
what it's kind of like, you know Bob got his
hand caught in the cookie jars like what the
hell You know, you know, I think that's the part
that is the funny part of it Whereas it's not
so much her doing reviews. It's her catching
you at attempting to open figures for review.
That's the funny part well i don't think people
want to watch just inbox reviews so no not usually
i mean because people want to see articulation
and and all this and that and yeah i can't really
do that in the box which i have a bunch of videos
you know like the star wars unleashed figures
you know i i would love to open them but yeah
because she keeps going like she'll go on ebay
and go hey that one's worth like 80 dollars now
Don't touch it So Bob did it really upset you
um Last week when I passed you with subscribers
It's just it got me thinking and then I you know
after you and Paul talked to me It made me think
about why am I doing it in the first place? Was
I doing it to try to become a youtuber quote
unquote? You know and make money off of it or
was I doing it just? the love of doing reviews
and showing people my collection and i think
i was going down the wrong path i was going to
the dark side and it was just getting me frustrated
come to the dark side we have cookies you know
it's like because i do that monitor monitor monitor
triangles yeah i i check my how much money it
makes every every video i i check it all the
time like i i can't help myself and like sweet
i made 50 cents today woohoo! I actually stopped
monetizing my videos because I was like you know
what you have to really watch what you're doing
all this other stuff I said it's just not worth
it for the for the you know 50 cents or whatever
it is I would get yeah I think one day I made
like two dollars and I was like celebrating I
was like I might hit a hundred no I'm not I'm
not even at a hundred I've been doing it for
like six months now and I'm only like $75 total
I haven't even gotten, I've got about seven or
eight dollars. I stopped. It's like 100 every
month or something like that to get paid anything
over $100. Yeah. That's that's kind of what they
don't tell you it's like oh your video has 5
,000 views become a partner on YouTube and you
could earn money and Then it's down there in
the fine print, but you have to earn up to $100
before we ever pay you anything you fucking moron
Exactly, and then you know I'm like What the
hell it's like the latest review. I just did
it only has like 70 views on it or something,
but my daughter does those stupid McDonald's
Happy Meal toys. Like, she did the Little Ponies,
and it has almost 200 views already. Well, to
be fair, everyone likes little kids when they
do stuff cute, and everyone at this point loves
My Little Pony, so. Yeah, my daughter's My Little
Pony video is getting close to a thousand views.
Yeah, it's just amazing. Like, this stupid McDonald's
Smurf toys that we did, and it's just us playing
with them. And just doing a little skit at the
end, it has like 14 ,000 views on it. I just
don't get it. I'm not even anywhere close to
anything else. You know why I got started doing
reviews? I was bored. I had a camera that I wanted
to just see if it could actually take video.
And I wanted to teach myself how to use some
editing software. And one of my goals now is
I want to make a small documentary. um on an
ocean liner that's sitting here parked in philadelphia
and i actually i actually got permission from
the people that own it to go over there and film
by there or if it's haunted no yeah i go there
right well i'm from philly so you know fort mifflin
and all all those you know well i don't know
you might when did you move out of this area
uh bob oh 15 years ago ish you know you moved
out just as that ship was brought in that ship
was brought into dock in 1996 yeah so it was
the exact same day that I got married that ship
made it to Philadelphia nice I'm from I'm sure
you know we're after to Pennsylvania's like right
near Lancaster Lancaster yeah That's that's where
my parents are there and my whole family sir
Like I said next time you get back to this area
we're going into the city and having some cheese
steaks or something Heck yeah, it takes me 15
minutes 15 minutes to get to Center City Philadelphia
from my house Nice. I used to live on South Street
Yeah, I think out of all my videos the The three
most popular ones are a podcast version of a
Phineas and Ferb movie podcast I did, Cars Tune
Tokyo Mater, and Achmed Talking Doll. They all
have 31 ,000 views. Good Lord. Do you get a lot
of news on your podcast stuff? Because I see
you post them on there. You know how long or
whatever. The Phineas and Ferb one is really
the only one that has got major, because it's
Phineas and Ferb. The other ones, let me just
look here. Let's see, video manager. The Batman,
Tooncast Beyond Episode 15, got 31 views. I mean,
there's not a lot of them. Batman year one got
no that's the trend where the hell's damn thing
I've got like 68 did I put doom yeah I did put
doom on here doom got 66 so no they don't get
a lot of views and again I don't do it because
I you know I would love to have the views that
you know people like like Paul and like Pia and
like vault matrix get but I would love to have
those kind of numbers but I just do it just to
have fun with it and just to say hey go check
out this podcast if you like podcasts and really
that's all my channel is now is I'll put together
a video mashup of images and I'll put the podcast
episode audio behind it and that's all I do I
don't even like going on camera anymore like
when I when I do rants I point the I point the
camera at the Puggle Formers and I'll just talk
into the microphone and just rant about stuff.
I just... I've just lost the interest in like
actually reviewing stuff. It just... I gotta
give it to you though. I do love the ones when
you go off on Maddie because it's very entertaining.
Like the last latest one you did I was rolling.
I was just like, oh my god. It's awesome because
you're just like, you fucking morons. Well, it's
like they just don't... first of all you know
the left hand must be stroking somebody else's
balls while the right hand is stroking your own
because they don't know what the hell they're
talking about half the time you know there was
one time I called them and I told them the order
number and they repeated back to me an entirely
different number I'm like no this is the order
number and it's like you know hello my name is
Abu welcome to the Maddie collector how may I
help you you know The customer service is not
US based whatsoever. You know, and it's like,
fuck, you fucking people don't know what the
hell you're talking about. And that's exactly
why I'm glad I am done with them. I know a lot
of people miss those rants, but it was literally
making me physically ill, stressing out about
whether I was, you know, and I, as I said in,
in the rants in the podcasts. I did budget out
for having each figure each month being taken
out of my bank account. I did budget out for
it. So it wasn't like I was driving myself to
financial ruin. But because of all their changes
and mix ups, it was like, you know, well, fuck,
what am I going to do now? I have to make sure
I have enough money in this account. So I have
to sell this, this and this and this and this.
You know, to make sure the shit's in there and
then I have to turn around and sell the damn
figures I don't even fucking want. Fucking January
figures, those goddamn Star Sisters. Fucking
Nazi bitch figures. No one fucking wants those.
You know, the Star Sisters were in one, like,
five seconds of one She -Ra episode. They never
made vintage toys of them. And I can understand
them wanting to, you know, make the line go further
with Masters Classics, but... there were plenty
of other three packs that they could have put
out this year than the fucking star sisters.
And I, you know, like I was saying, it was just
making me physically and mentally unstable and
ill and I just couldn't deal with it anymore.
And it was, it wasn't healthy for me. So I said,
fuck it, I'm not dealing with it anymore. I'm
sure eventually down the line, once they catch
on to, oh my God, this dude hasn't paid us for...
Whatever but you know, I don't know. I just I'm
glad it's it's over and done with Well, I know
how you feel like with the Ghostbusters, you
know, I got the original Why we paint the same
frickin figure over and over again just put a
different head on them and you know 25 bucks
Apparently from a marketing standpoint toy guru
said that we only did start we only got the Ghostbusters
license to do the characters that everyone knows
from the first film and then we branched off
and did essentially, you know that that Christmas
for pack from Ghostbusters to all of the ready
to believe you things are there essentially repaints
I mean, they're not remolded. I mean, the head
sculpt might be a little bit different, but they're
not individually molded figures. They're all
repaints and redeco's. But it's like, you know
people kept at you know, like hey the Ghostbusters
line can continue if you guys would just do The
real Ghostbusters designs in the six inch line
and they wouldn't fucking do that and they're
like, oh well people don't remember that Kids
aren't gonna want to buy that and I'm thinking
you're fucking Mattel the only thing that kids
buy from you fuckers is lesbian Barbies and Hot
Wheels everything else is online adult collector
it fucking says on every fucking box adult collector
not for children and you're worried about if
people are going to remember dark green suited
Egon from the real Ghostbusters or whatever color
Egon I don't remember off top my head it was
but it was pink and gray Okay. All I know is
one of them had a dark green, tealish suit. I
forget if it was Peter Egon Ray or whoever. Right.
I don't know. But it's like, you know, Ghostbusters
was so mishandled and they went ahead and it's
so fucking stupid. They went ahead and told us
we have to meet this quota in order for a DC
Universe club to even be available. They didn't
meet the goddamn quota, they went ahead with
the club anyway, and then cancelled the Ghostbusters
club. Yeah, which is ridiculous. So fucking stupid.
I just don't understand, like, the toy people,
like, even Transformers, you know, how many repaints
of Bumblebee do we really need? You're floating
the market with crap, why don't you give us something
that we want? But see, here's the difference
with Hezbro and Mattel. Transformers has never...
there may have been one or two years where we
haven't had a Transformers line, whatever it
may be, but Transformers over the years has never
like gone away for an unexpected amount of time.
You know, you had the vintage He -Man toys with
Mattel, you had the crappy new adventure stuff,
and then you didn't have anything else until
the 2000X line, and they completely failed. with
the 2000X line, hence why they went to an online
only line with Masters Classics. So the difference
here is, yes, Hasbro does have its problems,
but Hasbro has been having problems for years,
whereas Mattel has had numerous problems in just
four years of doing online collector stuff. Speaking
of too many bumblebees, somebody on Facebook
and one of the groups I'm in, Yeah. ...was sent
a picture somebody took at their local Toys R
Us. Yeah. The only thing hanging on the pegs
were bumblebees. There were Dark of the Moon
bumblebees, Cyberfire bumblebees, First Edition
bumblebees, and Robots in Disguise bumblebees.
And I am talking there had to have been about
a hundred on these pegs. Wow. That is overkill.
That's overkill. Let me see. The thing with Hasbro
is that they... Optimus and Bumblebee, for the
Autobots anyway, are their key characters to
promote to kids. You know, that's just the way
it has always been. And that's why, you know,
stuff like RCs and Ratchets and Rotimuses and
Megatrons and Dinobots and Grimlock and Swindle
and, you know, whoever. That's why all those
other ones get short -packed because they want
to make sure every kid in the fucking world has...
multiple fucking bumblebees see now my youngest
my youngest loves bumblebee as a character what
he wants right now is rc he doesn't want bumblebee
yeah and my three -year -old loves jazz because
you know he sees me oh that's jazz i want jazz
and you know he goes i don't want a bumblebee
i already got four he he's even catching on he's
three and a half you know it's just As long as
you don't teach him that Jazz has a Matrix, I'm
okay. That's what's wrong. Jazz doesn't have
the Matrix anymore. I took it off of him for
you, and now Optimus has him. Oh, thank God.
Because Jazz is too cool to have the burden Hardest
to bear. And I can't wait for the toy to come
out, the War for Cybertron game, Jazz. Yeah,
that looks awesome. Yeah, it does. That whole
line looks awesome. That whole line was awesome.
I don't know why they stopped it. I don't know
they didn't stop it more for Cybertron. It isn't
stopped. Well, no like the toys that I you know,
they had optimus and sound wave and Megatron
Right, but that's all right. I'm being clipped
up from both the equipped up are really weak.
Those are bad, right? The transformation on bumblebee
and clip jumper is bad, but the figures overall
I like both of the alt mode and the the vehicle
mode or the alt mode and the robot mode the thing
with the the war for Cybertron part of generations
They said that they were only going to make those
Figures as a test to see if people want more
and we are getting more What I wanted for more
for Cybertron never happened was I wanted to
see seekers You know, they're always talking
about seekers and you know how all you know,
there's so many seeker fans out there You know,
I wanted to see more for Cybertron. That would
have been awesome Well, they are there is a war
for Cybertron star skin coming out the beginning
of 13 and it is phenomenal looking Even as a
prototype I was just like yeah, that's going
to my collection But Starscream is my favorite
figure so he's probably I Think I have more optimist
prime figures than I do Starscream just because
there's more optimist prime figures available
Yeah, but I have a ton of Starscream's Yeah From
little teeny tiny ones to that great big one
from Cybertron. Oh boys Speaking of teeny tiny
ones. How about that? How about that Legends
class Starscream that somebody tried to set on
fire that failed? I love when he does videos
like that because it's so hilarious. He needs
to do some more. He does them so rarely. When
he put that Starscream in the freaking garbage
disposal and the pieces were shooting back out.
Yeah. Yeah, I was just going to say that when
he threw it in the garbage disposal and then
he took it outside, I was rolling. My friend
IceflipCocoLiso on YouTube, I talked to him on
Facebook as well, but he did a review recently
where he got one of the two packs from Walmart
right around Christmastime and it had laser beak
and side swipe in it from Dark of the Moon and
he hated the side swipe so much because that
figure sucks. He smashed it right there on his
review box. while it was on camera, pieces going
everywhere. Break it off. He would just break
it into pieces. He's like, this sucks. And he
gouged out all the cardboard on his review box.
So every time he uses that review box, I'd just
start laughing. It was funny. I remember, because
I had gone back and I had watched animated season
two. Don't know. This is a couple Christmases
ago. It's good number years ago. I think it was
like 2009. Yeah, it was like 2009 and I Had gone
to Walmart because like right before Christmas
time Everything animated was on discount at Walmart.
I think I got blitzwing for like five bucks So
I get blitzwing home and I go to Unbox him and
this is before Hasbro went from the plastic twist
ties to the the bread kind of You know frayed
twist ties they have now The like brown rope
stuff that they have yeah, yeah, this is before
that This is when they had the like the the hard
twist ties and I'm sitting here trying to To
get him out of the packaging and i'm like this
isn't working i had to half transform him and
i had to cut around the different things and
i'm like oh my god this should not be this hard
to get a toy out and then as i'm trying to get
him out pulling him out twisted almost my entire
left thumbnail off Oh my god, you've got to be
kidding me this figure better be fucking gold
if it's gonna nearly injure my fingernail and
then you get him out and his guns wouldn't stay
on you're like No, I got stayed on the only thing
that was confusing me was the panels on his arms
because at first I thought they were just supposed
to sit behind him and Not on the sides of his
arms But no just getting him out of there it
was a fucking nightmare Whenever I have those
wire twist ties in some of the older figures,
if I get an older box figure, I just get the
wire cutters out. I'm like, I ain't playing this
game. Snip, snip, snip, snip. Yeah. Yeah. It's
like the battle in space, the hot rod. Oh my
god, that set is so bad. Yeah. The hot rod just
falls off. what's even worse is not even the
battle in space two pack it's the challenge at
cybertron three pack that was bad as much as
i love the cyclonus and the rotamus in that getting
that galvatron out the galvatron when i went
to get it out the fucking arm just came fucking
left arm just came completely off i actually
fixed that on mine and that is the galvatron
i've got on display because i sold my regular
classics galvatron to a friend of mine and then
Because I ended up, somehow I ended up with four
freaking versions of the classic Cyclonus. Well,
that's because there are like six different versions
of him. I ended up repainting one and the people
on TFW voted to call him Devcon because he kind
of had that look to him from even though that
guy never got a freaking toy ever. I had the
challenge of Cybertron. Set and hot rod and cyclones
are just sitting in it. So my friend bought it.
He knew Galvatron wasn't in there He's like I
give you 40 bucks for the set and whatever There
you go My I got lucky with my battle in space
that both of the figures were perfect. They don't
have any problems They don't nothing falls off
of them. They're nice and tight I already had
a classic Rodimus, but that's my protector armor
right now See, I liked what they did with the
repaint of Rodimus for the challenge at Cybertron,
because it looks more like Hot Rod than it does
Rodimus. I never had the original classics Rodimus,
the one with the purple windows and the weird
dark red paint job, I never had that one. I like
the one that they had in the challenge of Cybertron
3 pack and I love that challenge of Cybertron
Cyclonus. That is easily the best Cyclonus figure
we've ever had as far as the colors and everything
else. And that Cyclonus actually fits in with
Animated as well. See, my Cyclonus, when I got
it out of the 2 pack for Battle in Space, the
nose cone broke right off. I can't put it in
robot or I can't put it in alt mode. It stays
in robot mode all the time. I don't know. I don't
like the little nose cone on him. I actually
don't like that. The rubber bar. Yeah, Mike broke
completely right off. I think without it, the
front end of it, he looks like one of the Viper
fighters from Battlestar Galactica. I didn't
even think of that. And my Rodimus is horrible.
His arm falls off and the gun doesn't even fire.
It never fired from day one. The little jet thing
that comes out of it, the flame. You just have
bad luck with figures. Yeah, I guess. I don't
know. I shouldn't buy figures at Walmart anymore.
Yeah, no. You know, the Collector's Club sideburns,
it is a pain to transform them because the chest
parts never want to want to collapse in with
each other. I have to put a lot of force on them.
So he stays in robot mode. Uh -huh. But yeah.
I think the one regret I have from collecting
is having to sell my Chattered Glass Rodimus,
because that was by far the best Rodimus ever.
He was from the BotCon 08 set. Oh. I like how
they're doing setter glass this year too. Oh
God don't get me started. I was gonna go I was
all set up my my brother -in -law lives in Dallas
and we're gonna stay at his house and drive to
10 20 minutes to get there and Then I seen all
the figures and all the crap that's been going
on. I'm like, no, I don't think so Yeah waste
the money and even go I don't have the money
to even get in Yeah Though somebody was gonna
try and get me a press pass to get in like I'd
rather use it for a closer convention. It's me
and my one buddy. He has his own web show and
Our friend Rosemary is gonna get us press pass
to actually go into the New York Comic Con here
this year Nice That ought to be fun where the
four of us are gonna carpool together. We're
gonna stay in the same hotel room together and
just That's that was the plan. I don't know how
it's moving along now, but that was the plan
Is that the girl that dresses like the the Baroness
or whatever? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I follow
her on Facebook Yeah, she's like a sister to
me. She her her and her boyfriend live like 45
minutes from me. So we hang out a lot That's
the videos you were doing the Starscreams little
voice, yeah Yeah, okay. That was in her house.
That was in her house. Right, okay. Yeah. Their
house is insane with toys. Oh my god. Whoo! The
basement's full of toys. The attic's full of
toys. Every bedroom's full of toys. The kitchen
even has toys hanging on the wall. Crazy. The
money the collectors spend is ridiculous. Yeah.
Yeah, it is. It just... You know, when you think
about like how much money that toy collectors
spend on toys, you know, that could be college
tuition for future children. You know. It's like
with Paul, you know, he always complains about
not having money and stuff and then you see,
you know, he goes out and just blows it. I'm
like, dude, you were just talking about getting
married and you didn't have money. I just don't
understand it. The other day he puts on Twitter
that he's got too much money. And then I said
something, he goes, I've got a sickness. I said,
yeah, you do. You're addicted to plastic rec.
God, it's so funny. He is the most impatient
person I know. He is. Self -admitted, he admits
it. yes he does and I know it doesn't I know
it probably bothers him but it really irks me
more and it really has nothing to do with me
at all is all these morons that try to tell him
stuff that he already either knows about or has
found out about already through you know other
avenues and it's like you know people will post
on on the Facebook wall and it's like really
you're gonna like oh god somebody posted the
other day if if you were Optimus Prime in Dark
of the Moon would you have killed or spared sentinel
and I'm thinking first of all Paul wouldn't have
been Optimus Prime second of all that is no bearing
on anything his videos do anything his fan page
does any of his you it's like People ask the
stupidest questions, and I don't know if it pisses
him off, but just every time I see shit like
that, it pisses me off to no end. Did you see
the one for today that he did for Panthero? Yes.
Did you see the comments? People were going,
oh my god, how did you mix that? How did you
get the guy to say your name and this and that?
They don't pay attention. I know the answer to
that one. I was planning on reinterviewing Larry
Kenny because the Thundercats series was hot
and new and everything else and he was in a few
episodes of it as Claudus. And right before I
sent Larry the email, Paul comes out and says,
oh, hey, guess what my buddy Darth Devious got
for me? And then it was the Thundercats thing.
And I'm like, OK, how the hell can I one -up
this moron? And then I went and I sent Larry
an email. I'm like, hey, can you do an update
interview with us about Thundercats? And I had
Paul on. I'm like, here, here's your birthday
present, you asshole. All I did, Paul asked me
if I could do it. Yeah. Talked to Larry every
once in a while. I don't talk to him as much
as Rose does so I asked I asked Rose if she could
ask him for me I said I said I said yeah, I said,
you know, this is the last thing I want to do
to any I said I never want to ask you for this
and I said it's actually making me sick asking
you but Do you think you could get Larry to do
this for me? Yeah I mean, you know, sometimes
they will do it and normally how I go about getting
promos from people is I'll ask them for you know
Genuinely, I want to talk to them and I want
to interview them for different podcasts that
geek cast radio network has Because I want I
want to talk to these people. I've been doing
interviews for the last four years now I started
my very first interview was Stan Bush and I've
been doing interviews ever since and normally
I just go through the professional way and I
look you know look for the agent information
and say hey I have this podcast that you know
our website gets anywhere from six hundred eight
hundred thousand hits a month would this person
be able to sit down on this day this day in this
day and there are some times where I will ask
for promos before and but most of the time I
will let like if the if the person actually emails
me great the Skype call dropped lovely Shit yeah,
it's on Bob's end Maybe his iPad died Bob's iPad
died But no, I'll go through the professional
route and if the if the person that I'm interviewing
contacts me I'll say hey You know, we have about
20 questions for you. Is it also possible for
you to do these promos for us? But I usually
ask at the end of the interview if we have additional
time I don't want to ask for something before
the interview is done But no, I mean, you know
Rosemary is she's awesome She does all kinds
of awesome stuff with the GI Joe fandom the Transformers
fandom pretty much all geek fandoms But you know,
I mean she designed the cover to Dan Gilvizan's
book for Christ's sake Yeah, I actually knew
about that book and the cover and all that Yeah
months before anybody else did I was the only
person she told about that. She's like if you
say anything She's like I will never be able
to tell you anything ever again. I'm like, who
am I gonna talk to? yeah well that's the same
thing with me it's like right now i'm sitting
on crucial transformers prime information that
i cannot tell anyone of a certain person coming
in to do stuff on the show um and yeah it's like
it's killing me because i want the fucking scoop
and i need to actually email i need to i need
to facebook the person and say hey what episodes
are you going to be Whatever and can we please
I want the fuck I want to scoop TFW. Damn it
Seriously Rose is more like a sister to me. It's
just like, you know, we've known each other about
five six years now Been hanging out together
probably for the last three so She day after
Christmas me and my family went up to see her
and we she took us out to lunch for the day and
then we went just hit some stores and just hung
out things like that yeah so right now though
um her cousin passed away yesterday so she's
not sorry to hear that yeah she's not uh doing
so good yeah sorry to hear that that's not cool
at all um but no so All right. Well, I think
we just inadvertently got 37 minutes for a TB
VH episode Last 37 minutes and 50 seconds Wow,
we did a podcast and didn't even know about it
Our first official podcast Bob, there you go
What days did you want to do it? Like once a
week or once every three weeks? That's completely
up to two of you and you're all schedules. You
guys are the family men. I'm the single douchebag.
I can record at almost any time. The only nights
I'm normally not free is Mondays and Thursdays
because that's when I do other GCRN shows. But
I can record at almost any time. Well, this worked
fine for me because usually on Fridays, I don't
have anything planned the next day. Kids are
always in bed by now, so it's quiet in the house.
Wife's not home from work yet. So I pretty much
can do whatever I need to do. And this works
fine for me, because during the week I work,
and then Saturdays I always investigate Saturday
nights and stuff. So Friday nights work great
for me. So I mean, if we do it weekly on Fridays?
That that's fine because I can I can have it
up the night the following Monday night is probably
when I would have have it uploaded because I
do all the the posting and the creating posts
and links and everything else and Steve Megatron
actually uploads the stuff to the RSS feed so
I usually don't talk to Steve online on Skype
between Friday and Monday because he actually
has a life unlike me You know, so usually Monday
nights is when we get together and do other recordings,
and I can send him files then, so probably, you
know, Monday night, Tuesday morning is when the
episodes would go up. And as I said before, you
know, Paul, you know, himself, Mr. Octobotomus,
he, you know, I'm sure he'll be on at times and
everything else, and I think that we need to...
have him on to kind of have the four of us, you
know, kind of introduce the new direction of
the show, which people have just heard. As far
as just the total random stuff and bringing in
the team members and all that stuff from team
bottomless. So I actually heard about it before,
before I actually talked to Bob about it. I saw
that like reading about it now. Yeah, I was like,
hey, I guess. We thought about it on Facebook,
talking about old guys and just different random
stuff. And then and then bob was like I think
we should limit it to 35 and older and i'm like
that's effectively knocking paul and myself out
of even talking about it since i'm 32 and paul's
33 and i'm like I think if we make it people
who are like 25 and over that's fine. That's
that's more that's more of a a buffer because
you still have You know people that were born
late 70s early 80s all the way up to you know
mid 80s like 86 and 87 and stuff like that. So
uh... you know what does that make the oldest
that uh... shit bob what's your age i already
know paul's mike's what's yours my age uh...
i will be thirty nine and like two weeks oh shit
you have only got a few months i'll be thirty
nine in november yeah and i'm thirty nine in
april so yeah we're the same age we were born
in seventy three so Like he's 39 though Bob sounds
and look like he's still 25 They found out how
old I was they're looking at me and they're like
You're not almost 40 like yeah, I am No, well,
you know if it wasn't like you're 25. I'm like
I'm 38 I get that all the time. Yeah. Well, you
know if it wasn't for the creepy bow tie I would
almost confuse you with Larry Kenny Speaking
of that picture The other day a friend of mine
from New York who I used to work with writes
me a message on that picture He goes who's that
guy in the picture with you mind you over Larry
shoulder. It says Larry Kenny So I told him who
it was and Larry immediately gets on there goes
you would have thought the first clue would have
been the name over my shoulder Larry is so funny
Larry Larry is an awesome awesome guy So then
him and I started just talking back and forth
through that picture it was just funny because
he wanted me to point out to my wife that he
put happy birthday on her page and That he wanted
to know how the kids were because he absolutely
loves my kids Yeah, even though the first time
I met him my oldest son Alex was pushing my youngest
son in the stroller and almost knocked Larry
down Your kids nearly ran over Larry Kenny Wow.
Yeah, Larry had to jump out of the way real quick
and Yeah, he still remembers that That's awesome
Yeah, Larry Larry is is one of those voice actors
and what I find it's It's voice actors that are
the most accessible. You look on Twitter and
Tara Strong is everywhere, Rob Paulson is everywhere,
Maurice LaMarche is everywhere, Kevin Michael
Richardson is everywhere. You know Larry's everywhere
all over Facebook and you know, I think every
year for the past three years I've gotten a birthday
wish from Larry Kenny every year and that's that's
so awesome. He was the first one to post happy
birthday I'm on my Facebook page this year. Yeah
on mine He posted it like four hours before the
day change and I was like, thanks Larry. You're
a day early, but thanks Kevin Michael Richardson
now I started talking to him on Facebook one
night. Now, I was a fan of him and his voice
work going back to where he was on a show on
a history channel called Trains Unlimited. Yeah,
that's going back. That's going back to like
the mid 90s. Now, what's funny is my wife and
I are actually for a split second in one of those
episodes because where we lived up in New York
at the time, there was an old steam engine that
would come by Yeah, called the 614 and it would
go through Port Jarvis, Port Jarvis, New York
and The guy who owned it would do what he would
call flybys He would go to the turntable turn
it around and come by as fast as he could Back
the train up come by as fast. He'd do it a couple
times. Well one day the History Channel people
were there filming it and We happened to be standing
there right when the train comes by as they were
filming it and when I saw the episode like a
year later, I'm like Holy crap there. We were
standing So I told that to Kevin. He's like Well,
that's pretty cool Look just happened to be in
the right place the right time Yes, that is that
is so awesome You guys all the fire going on
yeah Louisville, Kentucky. There is so many fire
engines and ambulances. It's not even funny.
It's a daily occurrence. I don't know what's
wrong with this goddamn city. I thought you were
under a tornado watch again or something. No,
that's a different siren. Yeah, I know that siren
well. Every Monday it goes off. Living in Wichita.
Oh, God. You gotta be kidding me. Yeah, every
Monday at noon they test them. No, it's not.
It's like, God. Okay, here's the thing, and I've
said this on Team Bottom as before. The apartment
building that I live in is like right behind
a Rally's in Steg and Shake, and then right in
front of Rally's in Steg and Shake is the four
-lane main road. At the time, I was living on
the other side where the driveway is for the
parking lot, and it's one of those driveways
where you go straight up and back, and there's
a parking lot in the back, but there's spaces
in the front that's horizontal parking. And people
would, you know, blare gangster rap music at
2 a .m. So would I rather have that or listen
to sirens all day long? Give me the sirens. Let
me get a police scanner so you know where they're
going I Wonder Skype has a plug -in for that
I don't know. I know there's an app for it. I
just downloaded an app for everything I've never
had a pad before you know one of these tablet
things and I was going through and the first
thing I did was ghost hunting You know In the
last few days, I managed to get my next four
video reviews all rendered and everything. So
I'm actually ahead for the next two weeks. Getting
ahead of schedule is very, very good. Well, I'm
in the middle of writing a very long article
from my blog on the sinking of a Titanic. Yeah.
And I want to have it loaded on there by April
14th because that's the 100 year anniversary.
Actually, April 12th is. No, it sank April 12th.
No, it struck the iceberg at 11 .40 PM on April
14th, sank at 2 .20 AM on the 15th. I've been
studying it since I was eight years old. Don't
even look it up. That's OK, Rose. Rose, don't
leave me. Hey, Kevin, our team investigated in
Branson, Missouri, the Titanic Museum. Yeah.
that they have there, and it's actually artifacts
brought up from the Titanic are in there. Yeah.
It's pretty cool. They need to go back. They
need to go back. Nothing's ever been brought
up from that ship. I guess the guy that owns
it, he's a diver, and he's actually been the
Titanic, and... The guy that owns it is actually
dead. His name was George Teller. He died of
cancer a couple years ago. His company still
owns it, but he was the one who had the actual
ownership, and he died a couple years ago of
cancer. So can people still die to it, or is
it off limits? His company is the only one who
can legally bring up salvage from it. Now, here's
the thing. The man who should have ownership
to that wreck is the first man to find it, and
that was Dr. Robert Ballard. The problem is Ballard
had a strict policy of not bringing anything
up. His claim on the wreck could not be qualified,
which is how the other company got claim of the
wreck. It's basic maritime law. If you're going
to claim ownership of a wreck, you have to salvage
something from that wreck. And he refused. He
wouldn't even bring up a lump of coal. And that's
all it would have taken, one lump of coal, and
nobody would have been able to touch that wreck.
And see at this museum that we investigated,
supposedly taunted, they have like life jackets
and chairs and all kinds of stuff from there.
It's probably replicas. No, they said it's actually
from the dive site. They actually have pictures
of it coming up out of the water, like sitting
next to the prop. What pisses me off is that
it's not even, okay, April 4th is a Wednesday.
And I know movies, they either do Wednesday or
Friday. But according to, and take this with
a grain of salt, Wikipedia, the Maiden Voyage
launched April 10th, 1912. Yes. It would make
it much more appropriate if the film was released
Tuesday. April 12th or April 10th 2012 because
that would actually be the 100 years since the
initial voyage kicked off Now if they were gonna
do it since it sank it would have to be a Sunday
release on the 15th And see the cool thing about
that is that's my birthday April 10th. Oh God
see I think they just wanted to get it in there
just before The anniversary because it's probably
the theaters might get mobbed on the anniversary
Well, but yeah, and I guess I could kind of see
that, but see, the thing is, like, it would make
more sense to me if they released it on the anniversary
date because the theater would get mobbed on
the anniversary date. I mean, hell, people have
taken off work to see the Phantom fuckface, let
alone, you know, Attack of the Clones and Revenge
of the Biff. You know, so, I mean... Don't forget
The Running Man. I mean, uh, The Hunger Games.
Oh, Lord, let's not even go there. The running
man. The Hunger Games is the new franchise, famous
franchise that takes the place of Harry Potter.
It's horrible. Harry Potter. But the books are
better. I like Harry Potter. The books are right.
Everyone liked it. I agree. I just I'm not even
don't even care. Hunger Games New Twilight. Yeah,
exactly. My mother said so who hasn't said they
actually sat down and watched They watched Twilight
the other day and the first words out of my mouth
was vampires don't sparkle But it was really
good I said I don't care You know Mike knows
this and I'm more of an angel Buffy guy than
anything and No, they don't sparkle. I can't
see Spike sparkling. I'm sorry. I couldn't get
into Angel and Buffy, I'm sorry. No, Angel is
so good. Angel is awesome. Yeah, you gotta go
back and it's... Angel is so good. There are
moments in it where it's kinda meh, but I think
for me... Buffy just lasted too long and it's
just too Convoluted of a continuity for me to
follow that show like where I stopped watching
Buffy was the graduation season 3 finale Is where
I stopped watching Buffy. I think Stargate SG
-1 went on too long ten years Now but see I love
that show though. That show is actually interesting
to me. Yeah Um, but the last angel is angel is
just so so excellent. So funny And oh my god,
I can't believe I'm actually revealing this but
this small this morning about I don't know about
14 hours ago about 5 a .m. This morning on on
Friday morning. I I Had my TV on and I had it
set to TNT and I just had the volume turned down
and I was asleep and I woke up hearing Cordy
screaming in ecstasy on TNT because it was the
opera episode where the the opera possesses them
and she's like oh Angel it's only so right if
you're inside of me and I wake up to that and
I'm like Charisma Carpenter did porn? What? Maybe
that was my dream. Yeah, it was, yeah. Do you
follow her on Twitter? No, I probably should,
but no. Yeah, she's pretty funny. I mean, she
still talks about it every once in a while about
Buffy and Angel. Apparently she was at a convention.
Someone asked her if she was going to guest star
on ringer and she's like I heard the show got
canceled and I'm like, oh my god You can just
do not even tell me that because I've been watching
ringer since it started. It's I don't know if
you guys have seen it. It's with Sarah Michelle
Geller. It's with Christopher Palaha and a bunch
of other people You guys well, of course everyone
should remember the Dark Knight Remember the
mayor in the Dark Knight? Yeah That guy is the
FBI agent in this show called Ringer on the CW
and the show is just so interesting and so riveting
I hope it doesn't get canceled, but if it does
that's gonna suck But she had said that she would
have if it hadn't gotten canceled sadly, but
there's been no official confirmation yet But
no angel you got to go back and watch angel angel
is so angel is the way vampire television should
be done uh... rosanne's son wherever he was married
to the daughter well uh... johnny leckie yeah
i can remember zing values in rosanna was about
it uh... after they kill off and they got pretty
good we the first couple episodes here and you
know but what what about spike it just made the
whole show no idea he was just like He was that
wizard world last year. Oh sweet But see now
I didn't know him from that I knew him from Torchwood.
Oh Yeah, I'm a big Doctor Who fan. So I also
watched Torchwood. So That's just a franchise
I can't get into I Don't hate Doctor Who I just
kind of leave it be and you know people bring
it up all the time like oh, okay Doctor Who I'll
see you guys later. You know, it's just one of
those things. I'm a fan of a lot of British television.
Like, I was a fan of Monty Python growing up.
My British television starts and stops with John
Cleese and Faulty Towers. Mine was, um, the,
the, wait, the young ones that they're all like
punk rock guys living in an apartment. There's
one show you guys need to check out. And it's
got to be one of the funniest shows I've ever
seen. And it's Red Dwarf. So you need to check
it out. Just the premise of the show alone is
funny. What it is is it's guy Dave Lister. He's
the last human being left in the universe. He
was on this giant mining ship, ships eight miles
long, red with a big asteroid in its belly. And
he. got put into stasis. It was supposed to be
an 18 month penalty in stasis for bringing in
a pregnant cat onto the ship. And while he's
in stasis, his bunkmate, who's also his boss,
repairs this one drive plate on the engines wrong
and the radiation kills everybody on the ship.
And the ship's computer, which has an IQ of 6000,
Decided to take the ship out of the solar system
at maximum speed now This is sub light speed
so it's taken forever And he had the computer
had to wait till the radiation went back down
to let the guy out So he gets it let out three
million years later And The computer has since
gone senile from being on its own all that time
the pregnant cat had escaped the radiation down
in the ship's hold and a race of sentient cats
had evolved, and they all left the ship except
for one, who acts like James Brown and is always
in really fashionable clothes. And to add insult
to injury, the computer brings back as a hologram
his bunkmate, his boss, who he absolutely hated
to keep him company. My god that actually reminds
me. Oh wait. No not video manager. God damn it
YouTube Why won't you work when I fucking want
you to work? They keep changing stuff just leave
alone. It's like Facebook. Oh Let's not even
go there There's another podcast There's a show
Jason Marsden does it It's called space guys
in space and It's it's so hilarious. You guys
have to watch this. Oh god freaking ad stupid
YouTube Blocker on it. I got an ad blocker. I
don't get any ads Yeah It's called space guys
in space and it's Phil Lamar doing the narration
It's Jason Marsden and this other guy starring
in it, but they are the last two humans in civilization
and they are wandering around space in this essentially
broken down escape pod. And it's so hilarious.
It's just a short YouTube series, five minute
videos. But it's just so hilarious. You guys
should so watch it. That actually sounds like
the premise of Red Dwarf because Lister was the
slobbiest person left alive. The guys who came
up the show said if humanity gets wiped out,
It's not going to be the smartest guy to survive
it. It's going to be the guy who's the biggest
slob in the universe. And who's an idiot who's
actually going to be the one to be to have the
dumb luck to survive. And that's what the whole
show is. Here he is. He's slobby. He's an idiot
and all this other stuff. And he's the last human
left in the universe. I like that movie, Idiocracy,
or whatever it is. Oh, my god. That movie is
great. Go away, I'm baiting. Sorry. Oh god, who
was it? Oh god One of the producers of something
said, I forget what movie he's a producer of,
but one of these morons in Hollywood said, I'd
really love to tackle Back to the Future to make
it as a remake. And I'm like, are you fucking
kidding me? There are some things that can be
remade and there are some things that just shouldn't
be fucking remade. Back to the Future was a product
of its time. You can't remake and recapture that.
No, you can't. It's like Jaws. It's like Jaws.
They wanted to do a remake of Jaws, and they
wanted to cast Tracey Morgan as Quint and make
it more comical. And I'm like, I will kill you,
Hollywood, if you touch Jaws. Jaws is my all
-time favorite movie. Nobody better touch that.
They already killed Robocop. They're making him
more human. Then it's just called Cop. It shouldn't
be called Robocop if he's human. The thing with
Jaws... Jaws remake the only thing that would
that would make that any interesting to me is
if they got Henry Winkler in skis and they any
Constantly just had him repeating jumping over
jaws What they're gonna do is they're gonna make
the shark CGI You're gonna see it do every friggin
attack and that kills the whole reason why the
movie Jaws works in the first place you don't
You don't see the shark till the very end of
the movie because Steven Spielberg had so much
so many problems with the mechanical shark it
worked to add tension to the film Yeah, and they're
just gonna kill that by putting a CGI shark in
there. Yeah, that's I Hate to say this, but most
people hate Jaws 3, but I kind of actually liked
it I'm going not bad Jaws 3 is not bad. I actually
saw Jaws 3 in the theater in 3D as a kid. Yeah,
and I kind of really liked it, you know, when
the dude's arm is floating there and the fish
head. It's like most people hate that movie and
I'm like, there's nothing wrong with it. The
scary thing is people think that a shark that
big, a great white that big is impossible. The
largest great white shark they ever caught. Was
almost 27 feet long and it was in a net in Australia
27 feet can you imagine now the shark in the
original jaws was 25 feet Geez so they really
do exist now the one in jaws three was supposed
to be 35 feet that's pushing it but sharks don't
stop growing as the age what happens you don't
see those giant ones like that because They have
to feed further and further away from land. They
usually go after giant squid when they get that
big. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I'm talking about
jobs. Sadly, the only thing that I can think
of at this point is, yeah, this shark still looks
fake. I love back to the future, too. Yeah, I
love back to the future, too. I like back to
the future the best. I think that's my favorite.
part three a lot of people dislike three and
they say it was one of the worst sequels ever
i disagree because back to the future okay back
to the future one and two you had the story of
marty back to the future two you had the story
of his parents essentially um because you well
the first two films were about his parents and
his family but back to the future two was they
had to get stuff back on track but back to the
future three was more of a a buddy film between
him and doc because it was focusing on their
relationship because they've already gone through
and done the whole storyline with marty's family
and everything else so i liked back to the future
three a lot i just always wondered what happened
to his girlfriend when he went from from the
first one the second one she completely changed
and he never noticed it you got a facelift it's
like man i screwed up time and my girlfriend
looks completely different she got a facelift
and a bigger chest I'm not complaining, but what
happened? This should remake Adventures in Babysitting.
No. No. That's another one that doesn't get remade.
I love that movie though. They tried to remake
The Karate Kid. I refuse to watch it. I refuse
to watch it. As much as I love Jackie Chan, yes,
I refuse to watch that movie. My wife keeps going
let's watch out. I kind of want to see it You
know, it's you know, um will smith's evil son
and all this and that no, I don't know You can't
you can't no You can't change it. So movies should
not like tron the second tron. I hate it Why
tron legacy is horrible? I found tron legacy
very boring It was boring. It didn't make any
sense. Like how could they bring How could they
bring her out of the world and bring her into
the real world and she's still alive? She's just
a program. I never understood it. I mean, yeah,
as much as I nitpick on my podcast about different
technical stuff, that is really a technical nitpick,
but the overall story from the first film, the
original film, to the second film, I would much
rather have what we got in Tron Legacy than some
rehash of Friday the 13th that absolutely sucks
all to hell. You know what I mean? Or completely
change it like they did with Freddy Krueger.
Are they ever going to have that cartoon on Disney?
Oh, Tron Uprising? I don't know if Disney XD
is ever going to do it. No, I'm not sure. Cause
I know you're a Disney guy and you know and I
was just watching the DVD I was like okay it's
been a while I'm gonna try Tron Legacy again
and after I watch it I'm like nope still hate
it and they always show commercials for it in
the beginning you know like on the upcoming things
and the cartoon looks kinda cool maybe yeah yeah
the cartoon did look really cool I don't know
if it ever got launched or not I'm not really
sure I'd have to look it up um see the thing
with me and Tron is when it came out in 82 I
was only two years old so you know that's kind
of was my excuse until I finally, before I went
to see the sequel, I was like, okay, well, I
need to finally see the first film. Cause I had
seen it in bits and pieces over the years, but
I never actually sat down to watch it. So I watched
the first film, someone had uploaded it on YouTube
at the time. And I watched the first film and
I absolutely loved it. It was absolutely amazing.
I went to see the second film and I liked the
fact that they made it a sequel instead of going
back and rehashing the same story. That's why
I like Tron Legacy. Yes, I will grant you it
does have its issues, but I would prefer something
like that for a remake versus what they did with
Wild Things 2 and 3, and Cruel Intentions 2 and
3, where they took the same goddamn story, the
exact same story, and the exact same characters,
and just changed the actors out. I was like,
oh my god, are you serious? See, I'm afraid you're
going to do that with a lot of the last star
fighter. Yeah. Leave it alone. Don't change it.
It'll be Michael Bay's last star fighter, and
it'll be like, you know. God, here we go. The
fighter will start transforming into all these
different things that make absolutely no sense.
And it's just going to be one big gigantic explosion
on the screen. Well, that's all battleship is
going to be. When I saw that first trailer for
Battleship, I'm like, is this Transformers 3
.5? Well, yeah. And Kev, you're a big ship guy.
Are you into that? I do not want to see Battleship.
That's just ridiculous. Aliens make them play
a game where the ships can really get. Not to
mention, the actual physical form of a battleship
has not been used since pretty much World War
II. Yeah, we did have one used during the Gulf
War. but that was more for show yeah the technology
has been outdated since the advent of the airplane
airplanes are far superior at killing other ships
than than a battleship speaking of ships come
back to titanic are they changing the movie at
all or just making it 3d they're just making
it 3d they're not like gonna lucas it and add
little bits and pieces in oh hell no no no Cameron
does not do that stuff well i'm glad i i did
one of the I didn't want him to pull a Lucas
on us. My wife and I were talking the other day
about James Cameron, and I pointed out to her
that he only has enough films for you to count
on both hands. Yeah. And you won't even get through
all your fingers. I mean, his first one was Piranha
2, which nobody wants to remember. Then he did
Terminator, then Aliens. then The Abyss, then
Terminator 2, True Lies, then Titanic, and then
Avatar. That's it. And he had about 13 years
between Titanic and Avatar. Name any other director
who has a resume like that. But name another
director who has his money. What do you think
of the new Alien movie? Prometheus they're not
really gonna supposedly they're not showing the
aliens in it Well, no, yeah It's a prequel because
it does deal with how that Alien ship with that
giant space dude on it got to that planet in
the first place that that the Nostromo came across
in alien but Apparently he's not showing the
aliens if he is he's keeping it quiet. I don't
know I seen clips and it looks like the face
suckers are on there because some of the people
have them wrapped around their face. If it goes
with the continuity of alien, then that giant
pilot or whatever it is that was an alien, his
chest was burst open. So an alien does come at
him. It probably happens at the end and wipes
everybody out. It wouldn't take more than one
to wipe a lot of people out. Those things are
nasty. Gotta love the xenomorphs. As long as
they don't make any Predator vs. Alien movies
anymore. The first one's okay. The second one,
I couldn't tell you who any of the human characters
were because I couldn't care. And the scenes
were shot so darkly, you couldn't tell what was
going on. Exactly. It's just bad. The third one,
when they're dropped on the planet, whatever.
Predator's wasn't bad. I'll give it that. That
wasn't bad. I haven't watched it more than once,
but it was enjoyable for a popcorn movie. Are
they going to redo Terminator again? Probably.
Yeah, their plans are to make Terminator 5 and
6. With Arnold? I doubt it. Arnold's essentially
retired. Um, there was some other movie I heard
he was gonna make but I can't remember what it
wasn't gonna be Terminator something else. Um
Total Recall. No, wait, that's already been done.
Yeah, they're remaking everything. Yes See now
Talking about remakes The horror franchise remakes
some of them were just off. I can't stand the
Rob Zombie Halloween films. I did not need to
know About Michael Myers how he became this twisted
little kid killing animals and all this stuff.
I didn't need to know that Original movie was
brilliant. He puts on the mask You don't you
see everything from the point of view of the
mask He kills his sister and then he's just standing
there and he's catatonic the rest of his life
And he just then he comes back as an adult starts
killing people. That was fine. That's all the
setup you needed I didn't need an hour of the
film dedicated to Why Michael Myers was screwed
up in the head? Yeah, but I do have to give remakes
Star Trek. I Give that really good Star Trek
was done. Good Star Trek was done. Well Yeah,
there was it was funny Some people wanted to
start an online campaign to get me to play Harry
Mudd and in the Star Trek sequel I was a good
luck getting that to happen As far as Arnold
goes since 2004 2004 he made around the world
in 80 days as an actor actor in quotation marks.
Expendables in 2010. He is in post -production
for Expendables 2 in 2012. Next year he's in
post -production for something called The Last
Stand. Unknown Soldier and The Tomb are both
in pre -production. So those are both for next
year as well. So he's still doing stuff. There's
no mention of anything Terminator on his IMDB.
Um, so I doubt, and if he does do it again, it'll
probably just be a cameo. He's... I think he's
moved on from it at this point. Did you see that
picture? On Twitter? It's Sylvester Stallone
and him in the hospital getting surgery done
on their shoulders. No, I didn't see that. They're
sitting right next to each other in the same,
like, there's a bed and... Sylvester's in it
in a bed right next to him and Arnold's in it
and they're both like got their shoulders all
tore up For making the expendables to blue their
shoulders out He didn't do anything for a while
there he was pretty low -key for a while and
then when Rocky Balboa came out in the theater
and I saw I was like What happened to him? Oh
my god, he looks like a real boxer would look
at that age. That's how he looks as is. He didn't
age well. No, he hasn't aged well. Let's see,
looking at his IMDB. Oh, wow. OK, let's see.
Bullet to the head is completed, supposedly coming
out this year. From 2005 to now, he was in a
few episodes of the Las Vegas TV series. Rocky
Balboa, Rambo IV, Expendables, Zookeeper, Bullet
to the Head as I said, Expendables 2 post -production.
And he is also gonna be in The Tomb, which he's
in pre -production for. Now, some of these guys
need to just go ahead and retire. You know, they
just do. Until he remakes Cobra Oh God Now now
back to the horror movie remakes yeah, I Liked
the Friday the 13th remake It was actually I
actually felt it was better than then The second
Friday the 13th movie wasn't as good as the original
the original had had a lot of suspense and all
that but they tried to cram the Original film
into the first five seconds of the remake. Yeah
Feldman in in the third one Who? No, he's the
fourth one Yeah, he was in the fourth one. He
had a cameo at the beginning of the fifth one
and that was it and His voice was in was in the
sixth one Wait, Kevin Bacon was in the first
one. Yes. He was that was actually one of the
first films he ever starred in right Okay, that
animal house and Something else back then well
Speaking of Michael Meyer. No, wait. No, no Freddy
Krueger. No, I had a problem I had a real problem
with that one the Nightmare on Elm Street remake
Freddy Krueger is my all -time favorite horror
guy Yeah, and that remake pissed me off. It wasn't
enough that Freddy was a child murderer. He had
to be a child molester, taking all these pictures
of them and all this other stuff. And then they
tried to make it seem like he was innocent and
that the kids had lied, but that he wasn't innocent.
I was like, oh, come on, he should just be killing
them. What is the hard part about that? There
shouldn't be any, you know, I didn't I don't
need all that backstory for my characters. Yeah,
not when they're not when they're killers like
that. You don't need it. I Think that's why the
saw movies eventually got really bad because
they kept giving more and more backstory on on
jigsaw The saw movies are essentially all one
long ass movie. I Mean, that's really all they
are Yeah, like three of them all crossing cross
over each other to tell the same story from different
angles Yeah, what's Walberg was out of it and
it wasn't worth watching Yeah. The funny thing
is I'm looking through, you mentioned Corey Feldman,
I'm looking through his buddy's stuff, Corey
Haim, and the only thing I recognize from Corey
Haim's IMDB is a little unknown movie called
Double -O -Kid from 1992. He also was in The
Lost Boys, so I recognize that film. But I absolutely
love 00Kid because it's this cheesy spy type
of movie. It's kind of like a cliche spy movie
with Wallace Shawn in it as the villain and Nicole
Eggert is in it as the babe. I love that movie
so much, but anything else out of Corey Haim
or Feldman for that matter as well. I barely
recognize anything from their stuff. What? Driver's
license? License to drive? Yeah, I've heard of
that. But, I don't know. Aren't we going to redo
Goonies? Oh, God. They were thinking of making
a sequel to Goonies called The Roots. I thought
Feldman was going to try to be in it again. They
were all gonna try to be in it Speaking of whore.
Um, did you see about cabin in the woods with
Josh Wheaton? I've heard of it I've seen like
bits and pieces of the trailer, but I didn't
like the array. I'm not a horror guy really Honestly,
I'm not I saw the night the very first nightmare
on Elm Street when I was five years old and then
right after that I saw like which board to and
it basically scarred me for life on Like, like
the closest I can get to horror films is like
an American Werewolf in Paris and the Blade movies.
That's the closest I get because Blood, Guts
and Gore activates my very, very raw gag reflex.
Well, was Cabin in the Woods, isn't that a remake?
Uh, yes, yes, yes. The Joss Whedon Cabin in the
Woods is a remake. Okay. I'm trying to think
of horror movies. I know there was... cabin fever
where they all got like some weird disease and
they also That movie was awful. Yeah, they took
the water. It was awful. One of my friends dragged
me to see that. He's like, oh we gotta see this.
I heard this is a good movie. We saw it. And
I'm like, yeah, whoever told you this is a good
movie lied. Hollywood just can't think of any
original ideas. That's all there is to it. You
know what the problem is? And if you take a creative
writing course, you'd probably learn this. There
are four basic stories you can tell and You can
only rehash them in so many different ways It's
just eventually you're gonna remake you're gonna
either remake something or you're going to tell
something very similar to what somebody else
told But it's that's just the nature of how it
works But blatantly just coming out and saying
oh, it's been about 20 years. We're gonna remake
this what really gets me is the reboot of That's
another one the reboots like spider -man the
first spider -man came out what 2004 2002 was
spider -man one. Yeah, and here it is ten years
later and we're getting a new spider -man You
know the thing is you know, I don't mind that
they're doing a spider -man remake because it's
not Everyone seems to hate Spider -Man 3. I find
it tolerable. Spider -Man 1 and 2 were significantly
better. Daredevil is better than Spider -Man
3, I think. That's saying a lot. Shut up. But
the thing with the Spider -Man remake is not
only does Sony and Fox want to hold on to that
license and not let it revert to Marvel, They
want to make sure that these comic book characters
stay in the public eye. So every so often, you're
going to get a remake or you're going to get
a sequel. Same thing with Wolverine and X -Men
First Class. Fox had to make an X -Men movie
before... When did First Class come out last
year, right? They had to make an X -Men movie
before a certain date. or else the rights would
have reverted to Marvel. Now, Marvel, with their
quote -unquote universe of films that they've
created, I don't think the X -Men could fit into
it right now, but at the same time, I don't mind
any of the X films. Like, one of the reasons
why I defend X3, and a lot of people don't, a
lot of people hate it, the only single reason
why I defend X -Men 3 is because it's fucking
Frasier. as beast and that is when I watched
your perfect casting it was perfect fucking casting
they didn't use them as much but it was perfect
fucking casting and I absolutely loved it and
one of the reasons why I did is because Kelsey
Grammer's voice not it doesn't specifically the
vocal tones don't match but his intelligence
matches what I remember watching from the cartoon
series so that's why I like x -men 3 um but a
spider -man remake with where they're taking
the story um you know i don't mind it especially
since it's a different director and it's a different
actor toby maguire was all right but i don't
know i found it weird that after the first film
he went and did cats and dogs as the voice of
a damn dog and then he went back to doing spider
-man i'm like oh okay I'm trying to think of
more More what more remakes that they ruined
Supposed to be making a short -circuit remake
which I am vehemently against Well, yeah, that's
bad. That'd be bad. I know they're making another
Wolverine movie Well, yeah, but I mean, again,
that's that's Fox being Fox and you know, they're
gonna do what they're gonna do with that. So
they don't lose the rights. Oh, I absolutely
loved it. The one thing I loved about X -Men
First Class was when they went to approach Wolverine,
he's like, essentially, he didn't say this, but
essentially, he's like, ah, fuck off. I was like,
hell yeah, because because I didn't I didn't
expect to see Hugh Jackman in X -Men First Class.
The one thing I hated about that movie was Kevin
Bacon wearing the goddamn helmet. Yeah. That
was bad. Yes, that was very, very bad. But still,
it was it was a really good movie for being a
prequel to the X -Men films. I thought it was
it worked really well. Yeah. Well, it was better
than Wolverine. Wolverine pissed me off. I think
I read somewhere where the next one is all about
Magneto. The next X -Men movie or the next Wolverine
movie? The next X -Men movie is Magneto and his
origins. How many times are they going to fucking
tell the goddamn origin? They just showed X -Men
First Class. How much more in depth do you got
to go? I don't know. I could have swore that
I'd seen a picture of somebody dressed like Magneto.
The next X -Men movie might be, like, Magneto's
rise to his power. That might be what it might
be, because, you know, the origin story, it takes,
what, less than five minutes to tell it? I mean,
you know, that's really all as it does. In film,
anyway. So it might be where, like, in X -Men
First Class... They didn't, you know, they kept
calling him Magnus. They very rarely called him
Magneto. He just got the helmet from Kevin Bacon.
And Kevin Bacon as Shaw was a good casting move.
I just didn't like him in the helmet. That was
the one thing that pissed me off because the
only thing I can think of is, you know, the dude
from the air up there in the Magneto helmet and
that was just fucking weird. So maybe that's
what the next X -Men film is. It's going to be
Magneto's rise to power. Maybe that's what it's
going to be. I don't know. Yeah, like why he
went one way and Professor X went the other way.
Who knows? Yeah. The one thing I loved about
it was the way Professor X was. He was like,
would you like us to shave your head? No. But
that was great But yeah, um other remakes other
remakes I Think I think Masters needs a new movie
I Guess we could talk about bay turtles more
Would you say Kevin I was just gonna start saying
Teenage Mutant alien turtles But actually, I
don't know if either you guys watch anything
on like Channel awesome or anything like that
Very rarely. No, I don't but the Nostalgia Critic
did a video a week ago on And it was it was all
He was just being a wise ass the entire time
And he was going on about why Michael Bay should
make the turtles aliens. And it was it was. It
became he changed. He had the title up there,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and he kept crossing
out the things because and it became something
boobies, explosions, whatever. And I was just
like, that was the title. I was like, yeah, that's
a Michael Bay film. I mean if you look at it,
you know, oh wait, that's the wrong window if
you look at it, it's teenage alien No, wait No,
it doesn't mean I know somebody said it was something
like like taint, you know, and it's like teenage
alien in Ninja Tur - I don't know, something
like that. And the first thing that I think of
is from the rise of the One Shall Rise 3 -parter
from Transformers Prime. What is this? I smell
the taint of Primus. What is this? I smell the
taint of Michael Bay. Oh, good lord. How long
ago did Nostalgia Critic do this? Would say last
week Maybe the week before it was right about
the time that it got announced he did it and
Is it under the nostalgia critic on the that
guy with the glasses website because I'm looking
all the way back to February. Yeah The top 11
nostalgia critic fuck ups part three no, it's
not it wasn't under Wasn't under that it was
I think it was under. Oh, yeah. Here we go If
you go on the main page go down to work under
bum reviews It has underneath that is sketches
and specials and it says why Ninja Turtles should
be aliens Is it just on the main page on the
main on the main page you just go to the main
page reviews And sketches and specials is underneath
that Okay. Oh, I see it. Okay. All right. Yeah,
I'm gonna have to watch this not to post a link
in the in our show notes for it so Yeah, it was
it was funny. Yeah, I just When he does stuff
like that just talking straight out like that.
It's pretty funny. Yeah I usually only watch
like him and the car on there Yeah, that's really
all I watch is linkara for his history of Power
Rangers stuff I watch Brad Jones, but I actually
watch Brad Jones on his own channel. I don't
watch it on here And I watch I watch spoonie
on his own channel as well You know, it's not
that I have any against those guys. I just Just
don't I don't know. It's like I'm not like part
of that niche as you know I've seen a lot of
the nostalgia critic stuff and I like some of
it and some of it I completely disagree with
and whatever but it's just some of the other
people that are on there I just don't really
care for the personalities and that's that's
all well and fine and that's my personal opinion
and If people want to watch it, that's great.
But yeah, I'll have to watch this and see what
he said, because I mean, it's like it's like
Paul and I said in our episode 12 thing, you
know, I'm. I don't understand why Michael Bay
had to speak out about it even at all because
he is only, his production company is doing stuff
with it. And according to IMDB Pro, the project
doesn't even have a damn director yet. You know,
and usually the director is the one that speaks
out or, or, you know, you know a regular producer
but it's like why are you making this announcement
now when you know it's going to piss people off
and then you're gonna sit there and tell people
to take a chill pill shut the fuck up you know
the the comparison I made to it was you know
George Lucas is an executive producer on Star
Wars The Clone Wars but he's not sitting here
making announcements of new storylines that fuck
up the continuity Well, you know, I Watched no,
I know I Yeah, I kind of caught that episode
but I haven't watched that cartoon all the way
through So I like I catch episodes here and there
but it's like you don't hear George Lucas saying
stuff about you know that cartoon. I just wish
it wasn't Michael Bay making that announcement
or if it was something where he's trying to start
a you know misinformation campaign. That's the
one thing I hate about him as a person in Hollywood
is the misinformation. I mean there's a way to
do a misinformation campaign or there's a way
to do an ad campaign. Dark Knight got it right.
with, you know, I believe in Harvey Dent and,
you know, the whole Joker thing and everything
else. That was a great ad campaign for that film.
But coming out and saying that they're aliens
and getting everyone up in arms and everything
else and everyone, according to Paul, overreacting
about it. You can't make the turtles realistic.
I mean, you can make them realistic, but you
can't make them, you know, Be realistic in the
real world like Bay did with Transformers. You
just can't It has to be more like the The movie
from 1990 that that had it almost perfect. Yeah,
that is still one of my favorite movies from
that era. Yeah Yeah What's like with him changing,
you know saying that the twins weren't gonna
be in Dark of the Moon And that was a whole big
thing He said, if anybody saw him on film, that
he would pay that person. I don't know how much
money it was. He owes me money. I saw the film
at an advanced screening three days before it
came out. My friend won tickets. I saw the twins
in vehicle mode near the very beginning of the
movie when all the Autobots were driving into
the garage. well yeah okay but that's see that's
the thing though it's um it's my money i know
but i think what he meant when he said you know
the uh you know seeing them on in the movie is
actually you know seeing them in robot mode acting
all hey mo you know that kind of thing and the
thing with revenge of the fallen is that When
I saw the scene of the twins fighting and bumblebee
having to break them up I actually took a screencaps
and put them on Facebook and I said this is the
three stooges of Transformers I'm actually gonna
look for the pictures now because I've got them
on here somewhere. The book is so much better.
I don't know if you guys The twins are in it
and they actually saved bumblebee from from Sentinel
Prime Yeah. Oh, good. I just wish they would
have left it in there. Yeah. All right. So Bumblebee
is Moe, Mudflap is Larry, and Skids is Curly
is how I tag these images. And that's funny.
You guys got to see this picture of my one son.
We took, I think, a year and a half ago. My nephew's
wife took it. He looks like friggin Heath Ledger's
Joker in the picture. Let me find out and see
if I can get you the links. Check this out. And
I actually tagged it as why so serious. That's
awesome. Speaking of remakes, you know the whole
Three Stooges while you were talking about the
Three Stooges. I've seen the trailer. It looks
okay. I'm just thinking all the funny parts were
in the trailer. And probably not how they do
that with you know movies nowadays All the goods
yeah the trailer and then the rest of movies
like yeah, okay Yeah, why so serious yeah, that's
yeah, that is very awesome But you know the funny
thing about it is like Like the Three Stooges
thing. They did a TV movie back in 2000 with
Michael Chiklis as Curly and I thought that was
the best casting for Curly ever. Outside of,
you know, Curly himself. And like when I heard
about the new movie I was like, really? And I
know it's the Fairly Brothers doing it and I
know the Fairly Brothers have, you know, some...
Good movies, you know dumb and dumber. I like
that movie. I liked One of the reasons why I
like fever pitch obviously just because it's
a Red Sox movie, but There's just some things
in there their comedic style that I just can't
Just can't deal with So I don't know it's just
I don't think the Three Stooges movie for me
personally is something I will go see in theaters.
It's something I'll wait for like Redbox or Netflix
or something like that. Yeah. Not high on my
want -to -see list right now. No. And you know,
that's another thing is for me, like if a movie
or a series is so super popular, I go the other
way. I've told this story before in other podcasts.
I don't know if I've said it here on Team Bottomless
and I'll probably repeat it again at a later
date. I don't know. Back in 2000 when I was living
in Mississippi, I went to the local Books -a
-Million store and at the time I was still reading
stuff. I was reading John Grisham. I was reading
stuff like that. I was reading Dean Koontz. I
was still reading the Hardy Boys case files from
when I was a kid because I love those books.
But the lady there, one of the clerks there is
like, well, what else do you like to read? What
other kind of stuff do you like to read? And
I told her, and she's like, oh, well. there's
you know we have this this this book series called
harry potter it's about a boy who becomes a wizard
and i was like okay and then she's like there's
this other series called you know the the plum
series from janet avanovich which is about a
former lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter i'm
like okay forget the fucking boy wizard And that's
how I got turned on to Janet Ivanovich's One
for the Money, Two for the Dough, and all those
books that she's done. And they're just absolutely
hilarious books. One for the Money, the movie
One for the Money just finally got made after
years and years and years of saying that it was
going to be made. And one of the most hilarious
parts in that first book is Stephanie's grandmother
takes her gun takes Stephanie's gun and shoots
the chicken on the dinner table it's it's just
it's so hilarious but like like Harry Potter
Hunger Games Doctor Who they're so popular right
now and everybody's into you know Game of Thrones
is another thing and that's partially because
it's HBO and I don't have HBO that I don't get
into that but it's one of those things where
you know it just If everyone's into it, I have
to go the exact opposite way. You know, the last
four or five years, I've been really loving Seinfeld
episodes. And when that was on originally, of
course I was younger, but I just couldn't get
into it then. And now that I'm getting older,
I'm getting into it more. Where did everybody
go? Okay Are you gonna say Bob I Said I quote
Seinfeld at least once a day some somehow some
way I usually do it My brother tried to get me
into it I couldn't That's gonna get into it.
I'm not into sitcoms at all really. I can't stand
them I don't like the format. I don't like the
premise of any of them. It's just I Would say
the one sitcom you could probably get into would
be the Big Bang Theory, you know I can't get
into that one either. Really? You're crazy fuck
is wrong with you Well, like you said I go the
opposite way people go That's crazy No this past
week this past Thursday on Big Bang Theory they
had Leonard not yeah Leonard but no they had
Leonard Nimoy as the voice of Tiny's Toy Spock
and that was kind of awesome So that's pretty
much made it yeeks pretty much cool again it's
a cool school because it's cool to be a geek
all of a sudden you know with the comics and
yeah look at how much it exploded oh yeah in
the last year or two and a lot of movies that
we've been talking about like you know people
that never read comics or anything like that
or I love superheroes and now it's cool to be
a dork yeah yeah When I was in high school, I
was the outcast sitting at the table all by myself
because I wasn't the jock. I had a group of friends
that we were all the outcasts. We just all kind
of flocked together. One of them now actually
is one of the on -air personalities for the S
network for the Yankees. Wow, you never know.
You never know. We're some good Are you really
gonna start talking about the Yankees cuz I don't
know you might have to throw down here You know
what? I'm not a sports fan. The only thing I
watch NASCAR So you're not gonna get me to talk
baseball. You're not gonna get me He's making
another left turn I take the channel turn it
back in 15 minutes. You'll see the same fucking
thing I used to be like 2003 2004 I was really
you know 2002 to 2004 I was really big in a NASCAR
and then after the 2004 Nextel Cup and Earnhardt
essentially got you know fucked over that year
Earnhardt jr. I should say I Just said screw
it. I don't care about this anymore See now my
driver is Matt Kenseth. So I started watching
as long as you don't say Tony Stewart now I started
following him in 2002 when he won the most races
that year and then once he do in 2003 wins the
championship Yeah, wins it in such a way that
they have to change how you win the championship
My driver you have your own driver that's like
you're must be like a third redneck or something
Right there this coming from the guy that lives
out in Iowa Iowa I Will say there are some races
that I will start falling asleep while I'm watching
because they are boring but I live real close
to the Dover International Speedway Mm -hmm.
It's only 45 minutes from my house. So I try
to get there at least once a year to see a race
Simply because seeing one of those races live
is a completely different animal To seeing them
on TV see and my dad loves NASCAR and he goes
to go over every year and Pocono and He has the
headset we can actually listen to the driver
talking to their guy. I mean he's crazy about
it I actually did I used to bring a scanner to
a headset to the track to listen and a few years
ago, my brother and I went to Watch actually
a crash from a truck race on a Friday at Dover
now That's actually my favorite because they
put on a better show than the Cup guys Because
they crashed there they'll beat and bang on each
other. They don't care those trucks can take
it and I had my scanner and there was a couple
and their son sitting in front of us and the
woman wanted her asked if her son could borrow
my scanner I'm like fine she kept getting drunker
and drunker as the race went on and she would
lean back and every time she would lean back
we got a full view of what was going on inside
her shirt and she wasn't wearing a bra you never
know what you're gonna see in a race no you never
do know So yeah, that's about all I watch. Baseball
puts me to sleep. Football puts me to sleep.
I won't even watch the Super Bowl. Won't watch
the World Series. Couldn't care less who wins.
Not my thing. I do live in a trailer though.
I do live in a trailer. I live in a trailer in
Tornado Alley. It's like, you know, Tornado's
going through a trailer park each hall. I used
to live in a trailer. More. Now I live in a ghetto
home, but I don't know what's worse. Oh, God,
that's so funny. There are certain shows I can
get into. There are certain shows I can't get
into. Like, people have been, you know, trying
to get me to watch Community. for the longest
time. Every time I see an episode, not an episode,
but an advertisement for community, it just makes
me want to watch it less and less. I can't stand,
not Office Space, I love Office Space. The Office,
I hate that fucking show. I've never seen one
episode. I won't watch that. Lucky you. I won't
watch The Walking Dead. Oh, you're killing me.
I won't watch it. I'm not a fan of zombies or
zombie movies. I just think that they're stupid.
I'm all over that show. I tried watching The
River, and that is like the worst thing I've
ever seen in my whole life. It's on ABC. What
do you expect? Well, it's made by the same guys
who made Paranormal Activity, and it's that whole
shaky, you know, like, blog kind of thing, and
I just put it in that kind of filmmaking. It's
like Blair Witch for TV. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
It's horrible. If I wanted to get motion sickness,
I'd just ride in the back seat of a car. I could
just feel the same way. Well, you live in the
right area of the country, so. You have to take
that medicine to make you not motion sickness
when you go on an airplane or on a roller coaster
or whatever to watch that show. For me, good
television ended when Babylon 5 went off the
air. Well, I don't know. Like me and Kevin were
talking about the other day, what was that? Quantum
Leap. I can't think of it. What? Quantum Leap?
No, not, well, Quantum Leap is a great show.
It was the one with the underwater, I can't think
of it now. Sequest, Sequest, Sequest DSV. I couldn't,
I was drawing a blank. Yeah, that was a great
show. It was. The first season was awesome, the
second season they tried to put a little bit
more sci -fi into it and that was okay. But it
did take away from the feel of the first season
the third season though Yeah, I think the only
thing that saved the third season was they brought
Michael Ironside in Right. Yeah Sadly, I don't
think there's a third season even hit DVD That's
kind of sad third season is that when they had
to talking dolphin No, talking dolphin was throughout
the entire series. Yeah, Frank Wilker actually
did the dolphin's voice. Yeah. That wouldn't
surprise me. Well, he does. He's got the longest
IMDB page of anybody. Yep. All because of that
weird voice of his. Oh, ha ha. But the good thing
is. Disc only are you kidding me? Come on Netflix?
so weird Netflix instant has a seasons one through
three of Sequest DSV on instant season one sadly
has let's see Season one on instant has one two
three three episodes out of 25 that say disc
only so Yeah, that kind of sucks, but I already
have seasons one and two on DVD so that doesn't
bother me Well, right, but right but season three
is there so that's that's pretty awesome. I Think
I got season three some other way Yeah Optimus
doesn't support other ways of getting stuff Don't
know if I borrowed it from somebody I can't remember
it was years when I got it because I had the
first two seasons I'm like, well, they're not
gonna put the third season on DVD. What am I
gonna do? Yeah, so you can watch on YouTube like,
you know, you don't want to watch thundercat,
you know cartoons on YouTube I don't watch thundercats.
Anyway, Paul will go out and hurt people that
do that Because they don't support The networks
keep TV shows going. Well, the networks don't
even fucking support it. I mean, I know they
state the Saturday mornings now. I mean, I honestly
don't mind that it's on Saturday mornings. That's
fine with me. I just didn't know that it was
coming back that I mean, I had heard that it
was coming back, but I didn't actually know that
it was going to be on a couple of weeks ago yesterday
saying it was canceled now. That's not going
to be gone. Essentially, yeah. So let me see.
Where is the thing season? Where is damn it?
That's not 2011 series here we go 2011 series
Wikipedia the production plot but the Cast reception
nothing Okay, wiki has nothing on the actual
cancellation, but according to them for season
1 they list 26 episodes so that that episode
episode 13 between brothers people are like oh
that's the season finale no it's fucking not
because the show at the time had gotten picked
up for 52 episodes so season one is gonna have
26 episode episodes and right now wikipedia lists
them having episodes 15 to 20 listed uh trials
of lino parts 1 and part 2 native sun survival
of the fittest oh hey Survival of the fittest.
No one would follow an uncharismatic boar like
you. Sorry, Transformers sneak back in there.
The pit and curse of Rattila. And they've got
listed through, they don't have the episodes
listed on this, but they've got numbers set through
26. So I'm sure Cartoon Network is going to let
the last... you know, 10 or 12 episodes air,
but there was nothing mentioned in the up -fronts
for Cartoon Network of returning shows as being
one of them being Thundercats. So it probably
is cancelled, sadly. No, yeah, like Kevin said,
I didn't even know it was coming back and then
I was flipping through on a scene that Panthero
has anchor arms now and... Does he actually,
does he inflate them like Spongebob? When the
little scary bear things were putting his arms
together and he pretty much had go -go gadget
arms and they were going out of control and hitting
him in the face. I was like, what the heck? What
is this? I don't remember this last season and
I didn't even know it was new. They don't promote
it very well or something, I don't know. No,
Cartoon Network does not promote action cartoons
very well unless it's like Star Wars or Ben 10.
I'm actually surprised that Star Wars The Clone
Wars is still airing on Cartoon Network seeing
as how Hasbro has the license for that. For the
toys. I'm surprised the Clone Wars hasn't moved
over to the hub yet I'm sure Cartoon Network
has a certain contract with Hasbro for it, but
Yeah, Cartoon Network does not promote action
cartoons whatsoever They just don't they'll promote
they'll promote shit like regular show and Adventure
Time and Mad and whatever else Batman the Brave
and the Bold. I thought that was a fantastic
take on Batman. It had just the right amount
of humor thrown in with all the other DC Universe
characters thrown in there and some of them were
done really well. I love how Aquaman was an egotistical
jerk all the time, always telling stories. And
I just wish it had lasted longer than three seasons.
I love the way it went out though. Oh, that was
perfect. Peewee Herman as Batmite was awesome.
Yes. and how he kept messing with the shows to
force it to get cancelled. I was like, yes. I've
never watched that series. Was Mark Hamill Joker
in that? No. No. But did you ever watch the Drew
Carey show? Yes. Yeah. You remember his friend
Oswald? Yeah. He did the voice of Batman. And
it was great. That is the one reason why I hate
that show. One fucking reason why I hate that
show that is fucking Oswald is Batman. Nobody
can touch Kevin Conroy's voice for Batman. No.
And then nobody ever will. No. If I read a Batman
comic, that's the voice going through my head.
Yeah. Oh, yeah. And I was so glad they got him
for the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games because
that just, it makes it more real to me when I'm
playing it because he does the voice. Oh yeah.
Batman the animated series is my all time favorite
cartoon. I mean, it beats Transformers. It beats
a lot of stuff. And I just thought it was one
of the most well produced cartoons ever made.
Yeah. Both story wise, music. everything. Bruce
Tim was a genius when he came up with the designs
for that show. Yeah. Short Tales. I thought that
was a pretty good one. Short Tales? Yeah. Don't
you remember Short Tales? Oh, God. Yeah, yeah,
yeah. I'd rather watch Goof Troop. That ranks
up there with Smurfs and Snorks, Bob. The sad
thing is, I like Snorks better than Smurfs. DuckTales.
DuckTales is a great show. Yeah, DuckTales was
awesome. DuckTales is a fantastic show. Yeah,
all those shows, even the one with the bear.
Yeah, when he flew there. Tailspin was good.
Yeah. Tailspin was good. Yeah, that was very
very awesome. Oh boy, what else do we want to
talk about? We've been at this for what an hour
or two hours now two hours, yep Yeah, you just
want to call it there Same same bat time same
bat channel next week. Yeah Of course, okay So,
yeah, there you go, there's a team bottom us
variety our episode 13 Rambling catastrophe I
think we covered a lot of different topics, so
that's always good. And I mean, hell, we've sat
here for two hours, so that's, you know. I think
we're all going to think we have ADHD because
we can't keep a same, you know, it's like it's
just all over the place. Well, that's the point
of the title of the show, Bob, Team Bob's Variety
Hour. We talk about a variety of things. And
if most people know Paul, I mean, Paul can go
from talking about how awesome the Hot Toys Batmobile
will be to how, uh, you know, lame it is that
people are complaining about Optimus' characterization
in Transformers Prime, so, you know. Not having
his mask on and having teeth. My only problem
is he has no lip. I'm not asking for like Angelina
Jolie or Steven Tyler lips, but I mean, his mouth
is like a thin gray line. That's all it is. See
when I first saw it I thought of that fireman
bill guy the character from in living color So
so funny alright, so I have been TF2 and Mike,
and with me have been Kevin and Bob. We'll come
up with a nickname for Bob at some point. Kevin's
nickname is DarthEvious, so yes. We will be doing
more Team Bottomist variety stuff in the future.
I think we've all but decided that we're going
to start doing it weekly. And Paul will be back
on I think the next episode where I'm gonna try
to schedule where the three of us can or the
four of us can come on and do a show together
We got some other shit to work out and all that
happy stuff. So There you go. Say goodnight guys
Goodnight guys We'll catch you next time What
is this I said The taint of Primus?
