Transformers Prime, iPhone 4S, and 90s Music Industry Reflections

About this Episode
This is Starscream, and you are watching Optimus!
Yes you are! Said too much stuff. Hold on. I
gotta I Hit the Twitter block hold on I gotta
figure out what I can I have to um, what is that
called? I have to wait when you not speak I'm
doing my text talk, whatever You know where you
instead of you as in while you I just type you
oh, yeah, you know I eliminate any Punctuation
marks That's that's pretty ironic we're sitting
here talking about that and It's true. I mean
I I don't It's just so funny, okay, there we
go I posted my response And it's it's very I
don't know. I see some of those things pop in.
I didn't even know that it was pronounced common
rider. I was always calling it caiman. No, it's
common rider. Yeah, I didn't know that. The only
reason why I know is because the other guy, Nemesis
Predaking, the guy that you got those instructions
from for... Whatever he does he does the shit
and I've seen a couple of his even though I don't
really watch them all the way through I had seen
a couple of his videos. So that's the only reason
why I know it was common rider I Mean I'm in
I'm in my room and she sleeps with the fan on
but I don't like didn't yell that And I'm wearing
my glasses so headphones and glasses do not go
together very well Like make some I don't know
it like makes my glasses crooked and not sit
on my face, right? So it's confusing. Okay. There
we go Well, let me let me give you an example
that might kind of draw parallel to that think
of all those movie studios and movie or and TV
studios that Create a set for a particular movie
and then as soon as it's done. They tear it down
They pay all that money to do it, and they're
gonna just obliterate it afterwards. You know,
that's kind of, that's kind of along the same
line, I suppose. But, to me, it's... It's looking
at it at, you know, the bottom line. He's not...
I mean, obviously people make these movies because,
you know, they're fans, and they want to make
movies, and they like that aspect of things,
but, you know... I'm sure that there are some
things from those sets that people keep. To give
you another example, look at Seinfeld. When Seinfeld
ended, people asked the cast, when they did the
reunion stuff, they asked the cast, did you ever
take anything from the set? I think it was either
Jerry or it was Michael Richards that said that
I think it was Jerry. Jerry said he took the
door. The one door that Kramer always crashed
into. He took that from the set. Stuff like that.
You're always going to have people taking stuff
from sets. Right. It keeps part of that alive.
I don't know. That's what I was talking about.
I think it was Nestor. Migs earlier today. We
were talking about the new iPhone 4s and How
you know, I mean it's got a better camera, you
know It's got like a 8 megapixel as opposed to
the iPhone 4 which has a 5 and it shoots in 1080p
as opposed to 720p and I was you know my general
point that I was trying to make to him was you
know Yes, it's an improvement and yes, it's gonna
look good. But what people I mean just in general
I mean, you know people that are going to be
using this camera You know aren't Movie producers,
they're not doing the things that are proper
so I mean I mean me with my lighting I mean my
camera captures things at 1080p and I render
it in 720 just because it you know when you watch
it on on a computer or anything There really
isn't too much of a difference between 720 and
1080. There really isn't. If you're gonna watch
it on a big giant screen TV, then yeah, there's
gonna be a little bit of a difference. But I
mean, still, 720p is still pretty good, even
on a television. So, you know, I mean, people
aren't... I mean, people... I don't know. I mean,
the majority of people don't watch YouTube videos
on their television sets. I mean, not at this
point in time. I mean, in the future, maybe.
Who knows? Look at how evolutionary the smartphones
are. Technically, Apple launched the smartphone
craze. I guess you could count Blackberry, but
Blackberry was mainly for email and texting.
It wasn't really for all the multimedia shit
that an iPhone can do. Look at the other smartphones
at this point. Look at HTC. Look at Samsung.
Look at Sony. Look at Nokia. Every Samsung that
I've seen or every HTC phone that I've seen in
the last year and a half, they've all had standard
8 megapixel cameras. Some have had 1080p video,
HD video, some haven't. But they've all had 8
megapixel cameras. The iPhone is just now getting
to an 8 megapixel camera. Are you fucking kidding
me? I mean, it's definitely behind, you know,
and... other companies are taking the whole iPhone
idea and they're improving upon it with their
own. And that's great, but it's like, for me,
aside from the fact that I can't upgrade early,
because I honestly think that by me buying that
new phone when I soaked mine a few months ago,
I don't know what happened. I probably could
call them and talk to them, but I don't recall
extending my contract. at all. I just bought
the new phone. I bought it outright. I don't
know why I would have extended my contract. If
you paid the regular MSRP of $600, $500, $600,
whatever it was, and you didn't get ... That's
not a contract upgrade. I paid over $500 or something,
whatever it was. I don't remember exactly what
it was. Yeah, that's a straight buyout, and that
wouldn't extend your contract. Your contract
would still remain whatever it was. It tells
me that I'm not eligible for an upgrade until
July of 2012. So I'm like, okay, whatever, that's
fine. Even if it did come out, I wasn't going
to get the 4S. No. People just need to wait for
the 5. Yeah, there's no point for the 4S. Just
like you said, wait for the 5, get that. Be happy
with it, you know and all these people that are
buying it now like Ben You know in six months,
you know eight months or whatever when they're
gonna be selling them Yeah, and they're gonna
be trying to sell them so that they can afford
to buy the new one because they're not gonna
get that discount. Yep You know, I mean, it's
I don't know. It's stupid Whatever not that I
really care about the franchise either way, but
that's kind of like people that hurt that are
in the Doctor Who that go nuts over I mean I
know we go nuts over the ending of Transformers
stuff but I mean some of these Doctor Who fans
out there they just go ape shit over the ending
of an episode and it's like seriously yeah it's
true you know and it's you know that's fine that's
you know that's fandom you know that's what people
want but it's yeah it's still a little bit ridiculous
I mean, yeah, I don't get the common writer stuff
at all. Usually when I am watching something
and I'm doing like, you know, like Transformers
Prime, I've watched the entire season. I can't
wait till the DVDs come out. The ending is just
jaw dropping, but it's not like where you have
to go on Twitter and just type capital F. for
like six friggin lines yeah yeah and you know
i mean people have already seen all i mean i
i haven't gone in i know you're waiting that's
fine it's up to you i just i had to i had no
it was too tempting because i was like wait how
did it leak already because it leaked like it
leaked like 10 hours after part two had how did
it I don't know how it did. I mean, trust me,
I'm intrigued. And I want to see it based on
the end of the last one. You know, I want to
see what happens. Oh, man. I'm not going to spoil
it for you, but I'm just going to tell you, your
jaw will drop to the floor with how episode 26
ends. I'm telling you. Because I literally almost...
I've said this before. Some things make me, you
know, literally fall out of my chair. This is
one of those moments because it's not something
that anyone would expect to happen. Interesting.
Yes, very interesting. It sets things up for
a very nice season two, hopefully. Oh, yes. Now,
I'm... I just want to know when the whole season
two is coming. It's... I think it's at somewhere
like in November. That would be awesome. I think.
Let me look. According to this it says season
2 is set to begin airing November 28th. Oh Sweet,
so we don't have to wait too long at all. That's
according to Transformers wiki. Yeah You know,
I don't let me see do they say they don't cite
a source really It's just that's all that's just
what it says but like I said it doesn't Um, I
don't see anything that actually sets it. Or,
um, you know, uh, confirms it. Let me see if,
um, Twitter .com... It said I have to go to my
own Twitter page to find something more than
a day old. Uh, I'm watching Two and a Half Men.
That was from earlier. Jeff Klein confirmed they
have talked about producing a theatrical Transformers
Prime film. That would be interesting. That would
be very interesting. That could definitely...
I think because it's got the same kind of movie
feel, but obviously it's a different, like, continuity,
I think that could be a reboot that would work
very well. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm going into random
mode at this point because I'm looking through
my Twitter feed and I saw where I mentioned to
you first! And the first thing I thought of was...
Oh my god, he would so shoot me with a gun at
his wedding if I yelled up in the middle of the
ceremony and said, first. That would be awesome.
Wait, so did all the AmiAmi pre -orders for tonight
already go up? Yeah, Ben. Go, quick, get them.
So he's like, yeah, I saw it. That's what he
said. Yeah, he's like, I saw it. That was an
hour ago. Were you going to reply to him? He's
probably like, I emailed him. I'll find out tomorrow.
That's what he always says. Yep. Okay, well Jesus
I've I've I've scrolled through and in like six
tweets to Callie the other day I'm stalking that
shit. Oh, that's stalking her She's going to
um, New York Comic -Con with Tyler nitro streak.
Yep. Well in Tyler JT Mitchell. Yep JT to come
out to my wedding. Did you see that? Yes, I did
see that you guys were arguing over suits You
weren't arguing. Oh, no, I know you weren't Oh,
yeah, since I have you on the damn phone you
did get my email about that music spotlight,
right? I sent it to your gmail address. You should
have gotten it. Oh, yeah, you probably did but
I Probably just skipped over it and you can't
look. Okay. There it is. Copy opening your tab
So I want to get the game You have lofty ambitions
It's, it's still up. I don't know how it's still
up, but it's still up. What is? The part three.
Oh, it hasn't gotten yanked on yet? Nope. I'm
looking at the link right now and I'm looking
at the video. Oh, wow. 80 Spotlight, Holland
Oats. Yeah. Shut up. Michael Jackson, Stan Bush.
We are the world that's actually probably a very
good one to talk about. Yep. That was a very
influential song 60s and 70s 10 favorite artists
fans of the 60s 70s and then special episode
for the beetles Google yeah, there's there's
a like I said, it's very very lofty ambitions
Nickelback default 12 stones theory of a dead
man. I don't know any of that stuff except for
nickelback Non stream music video game music
cover bands one hits the the cover bands thing
is mainly for dot Mike Dodd because he He's more
into non mainstream shit and I want most of the
regular episodes to be Mainstream stuff because
that's really in the grand scheme of things.
That's what matters Nice but you know every one
of these people that you list on here, you know,
came from a garage band setting, you know, and
through to this, but that doesn't really happen
a lot nowadays. Well, I mean, most of it, I just
kind of listed the bands that I kind of liked.
I mean, you know, it's mostly bands that I like.
It's mostly bands that I, you know, came up with,
but whatever. I mean, the main episodes are the
ones that are in bold. and obviously you'll be
on the 80s one but um surprise you didn't jump
at the google dolls spotlight i'm not saying
you have to be on it i'm just saying that actually
wouldn't be too bad of an idea because i mean
i remember watching like a behind the music of
uh of the google dolls and i can't remember the
guy's name the lead singer for google dolls johnny
resnick sure um no that's his name after he did
iris he really would wait until like this huge
bump you know where he couldn't write anything
because Iris was so insanely popular he really
is a perfectionist of sorts and really didn't
think anything could live up to it so he really
felt like what what else could he do you know
then uh then they chucked the fuck down and they
came out with good stuff Mainstream breakthrough
and legal issues 95 to 97 iris and superstardom
98 to 2005. Yeah, they yeah, they basically after
It's all there is to it. Yep. I've been actually
wanting to check out their latest album, Something
for the Rest of Us, that came out last year.
I haven't had a chance to do it yet. But yeah,
I mean, after Iris, it was like, where do we
go from here? And then in 2006, Let Love In happened,
and there's a couple good songs off of that,
so. Yeah, but what really... Was but let me let
me look at their Wikipedia. I already got it.
Hold on. No, I just pulled it up. So Wait, but
I don't know where anything is You tell me it
goes in in order in Chronological order. Yeah.
Yeah. What do we have here on? What love in what
did they have given it a bit that's a cover song,
isn't it? Yeah, that's a cover song Let's see,
we're recording a little bit. Yeah. Yeah, Stay
With You was the first single off of that and
Let Love In, the title track, was the other one.
I think I have both of those songs, actually.
Let's see. God smack. There we go. Here is Gone
Off of Gutter Flower. Let Love End. Yeah. I mean,
really, after Iris ends, pretty much just Dizzy
Up the Girl in general. Not Dizzy Up the Girl.
A Boy Named Goo, that album. After that, I mean,
they were pretty much blah. What do you mean
they're pretty much belong I mean they didn't
really come out with too much Well, they came
out with the album gutterflower that spawned
a couple of good singles and gutterflower came
out after After dizzy up the girl and then after
gutterflower was let love in I mean they they've
kept their sound up. I mean it's it's this you
know it's the same It's not like you know yeah,
but they didn't have any big hits Well, there's
I'm looking I'm looking at this I'm looking at
this song list here for Gutter far and I don't
see anything really that I recognize now, maybe
if I heard the song I would probably recognize
it but That's here is gone that's that's one
of the big ones Where's the other one see let
love in here's stay with you off a let love in
Never heard it before Yeah, that's a cover yeah
Mean that you can't really go wrong doing a cover
of a no But I mean a lot of these bands, you
know, not just not just goo -goo dolls I mean
disturbed is done covers. I'm sure one is done
cover Everybody does covers and for the most
part every band that I've heard a cover from
I've really liked it. So I Actually have to add
that to my iTunes wishlist because I don't have
that song Shut up. Let me see. What was Haven't
heard anything off the new album the most recent
one According to iTunes the most popular one
is a song called not broken off of something
for the rest of us Yeah, I mean, I mean he's
always been this, you know, they've always had
the same sound. Oh, yeah They've been a band
that that relies on the popularity. Yes. They
are very popular. Yes. They have their fan base
You know, yes, they do have some great songs
They're like Stan Bush God Wait a second. Wait
a second. You're saying the goo -goo dolls are
the 90s version of Stan Bush I'm saying in general
you know most people or most artists don't reinvent
themselves so they typically die off and something
else comes along you know and that's that's how
they are and you know I mean Goo Goo Dolls is
kind of like that and Stan Bush It's kind of
like that. I mean, it's just the nature of the
beast. I mean, not a lot of artists reinvent
themselves and they don't have a career like
Elton John has. Well, no, but... You know, or
Madonna, for that matter. Well, true, but is
she even relevant anymore? No, she's not. I mean,
she's not singing anymore, but at least when
she did, it was always a reinvention, you know?
I mean, she would always reinvent the wheel.
I mean, you look at, you know, the whole, you
know, like a virgin. that's completely different
than Vogue. You know, I mean, it's, you know,
she reinvents herself every time that she comes
back out, you know, and, you know, then it gets
crazy, like in the late nineties with, you know,
Ray of White. And I mean, it's it's that's what
keeps you fresh. That's what keeps you in the
public's eye. And without that, you die off and
you're you're gone. See, every time sent, like
see, I didn't know the Goo Goo Dolls before A
Boy Named Goo. I didn't, because they had albums
before that. The band's been around since like
1987. Oh yeah. But their popularity really didn't
hit mainstream until 95. And I had only heard
name. That was the only this is the only song
I had ever heard by them Oh, yeah, and that's
that's still a great tune, but it's still a great
tune But that's the only song I had heard off
of this album And then after the radio play kind
of stopped on that song I hadn't heard anything
until Iris until 1998 so this album came out
in what? 95 yeah, 1995 I Didn't hear anything
from them for three years right because really
name was the only really hit track off of a boy
named goo right um and then iris hit with city
of angels and dizzy up the girl and dizzy up
the girl and slide and black balloon and broadway
and that entire album i love that entire album
of dizzy up the girl it's yeah that's i was teasing
my sister because we were i was going through
and adding a bunch of her cds to uh to her itunes
because she didn't know how to do that Alright,
and and she'd hand me a CD and then I'm plugging
I'm like, okay What songs that you want that
you want out of this one? And she's like, um
That one and like that's it and she's like, yeah,
I'm like so you paid ten to fifteen dollars for
one song And she's like, yeah, I'm like son of
a bitch and we did that about fifty times and
I'm just sitting here, you know where she you
know, there was one or two songs that she liked
and I'm like Really ridiculous. That's why honestly,
I love iTunes so much because you can pick the
one song that you like You don't have to buy
the whole thing. I mean, it's well now sometimes
iTunes I Don't know if it's iTunes or if it's
the licensing deals that they sign. I know where
you going work more sometimes Sometimes it is
album only and it pisses me off. Yeah, I agree
I agree with that but that's so it's so fucking
stupid because it was like like, okay I'm a huge
theory of a dead man fan You know and it's one
of those things where I heard that their latest
track or their like their first Track that they
were gonna be teasing up for their new album
was gonna be on Dark of the Moon Dark of the
Moon soundtrack day. I go to iTunes I can buy
this no -name track, this no -name track, the
bands that I've never heard of, but if I want
to get the Goo Goo Dolls, Theory of a Dead Man,
and the Stain songs, I have to buy the whole
goddamn fucking album. Are you fucking kidding
me? See, there are workarounds with some of that.
You know, some of those, like you can find, like
for example, if you wanted to buy Iris, for example,
and you went to Dizzy Up the Girl. It might say
that Iris is only available if you buy the whole
album. But in some instances, you can go to the
City of Angels soundtrack. And you can buy that
song individually off of that album. I'm looking
at Iris right now I know I know it's just an
example, but I'm just saying I'm looking at Iris
right now on the full album Because I already
have Iris so if I was to buy the rest of dizzy
up the girl You know it would be at a discounted
price, but in the full album Funniest thing is
their most popular song is on sale in iTunes
for 69 cents Well, that's also because you have
other songs from that album, right? No, I think
it's because iTunes has run 69 cent song sales
in the past. Oh Yeah You know one thing I love
about iTunes and some of their stuff is the iTunes
originals Stuff that they do because oh, yeah,
I got some on bear bear nigga weighty stuff.
That's iTunes original Well with the iTunes originals
what they do is and I'm sure you know this because
you have it you know They put an album together
with different tracks over the years and then
they interview the band So it's like interview
clips and I absolutely love that. It's like it's
like The old VH1 storytellers. Yeah, you know
or you know about well not even behind the music
storytellers was more like that because at least
with storytellers they sit there they play the
song and then in between sets or whatever they
you know You know, so this song right here, we
wrote because we were stoned and blah, blah,
blah, you know, and then, you know, they tell
you the whole story or whatever. And, you know,
I missed them. I missed those shows. Those were
good. I remember watching. I think it was a storyteller's
with meatloaf, which was fascinating. That was
fascinating. Yeah, I remember seeing that. I
can't believe that. What the fuck? Look at here.
Look at this. This is, um, this is their greatest
hits. Volume 2. There's an Iris demo version
on here. Nah, it's too acoustic. Yeah, but I
mean, you get that a lot with live performances.
Yeah, I love acoustic songs, don't get me wrong,
I do. But that version of Iris just doesn't sound
right. Here's the problem. Nowadays, people can't
do acoustic versions. Can you imagine Kesha going
in and trying to do a demo and trying to sell
that to a record company? singing in her regular
voice because all of her songs are auto -tuned
so it's like okay you know so she goes and she's
like okay now I'm gonna sing this song to you
but I really want you to imagine it not sounding
like me at all you need to imagine it sounding
like a robot and that's what I want to do that's
a little fucking ridiculous yeah it is I mean
it is I mean auto -tune is the single worst like
You know, in the 80s, synthesizers was the biggest
thing. You know, just hit a couple of keys and
you've got an entire track. But the autotune
bullshit for voices, that's the dumbest thing
in the world. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, hold on. There
was a... I saw something. Let me see. I can find
it. You lost it. Okay. Okay. Now, this song is
terrible. But for example... Here I mean all
you have to do is listen to the first you know
10 15 seconds of it That's her without auto -tune
and listen to how terrible it is And then I'll
get you the regular My teeth are starting to
go numb. That's fine. Okay, you don't have to
listen to it anymore Yeah, oh my god, okay, so
you heard that okay now now Here is The regular
version of it. Okay. Now this is with auto -tune
now the song still sucks But you can hear the
big difference you might have to skip a little
ahead god ad are you serious like you have to
skip to like 20 seconds i can't skip it's a fucking
ad i know i got that too grab some buds that
is the worst slogan ever grab some buds but now
so that's what at least listen to the yeah i
don't see how this chick's in the music business
you see like that part right there that's that's
like the you know the chorus part that's what
you were listening to before you cut it off you
know that that's what i'm saying you know i mean
people don't do demos anymore because they don't
have talent there's no talent left in this world
and see that's why for me i mainly just stick
to the artists that i've loved over my lifetime
like i don't like i was i I have a little...
I forget even where I got the thing. I think
it was like a cereal box prize, but it was like
the best... No, it was orange juke. Yeah, yeah.
It's a Tropicana orange. When I was a kid...
Why the hell aren't you recording this, by the
way? When I was a kid... When I was a kid, I...
Tropicana was running a giveaway of if you collect
so many UPCs and send them in you get a free
radio. Oh cool So I have a Tropicana orange with
a straw in it The straw is the antenna and it's
one of those it's not old -timey, but it's 80s
You know rotary dial radios sure and I turned
that on the other day And I just can't listen
to the radio anymore Besides all the ads, and
I understand radio stations have to have ads.
I get that because that's what keeps them in
business. The only station here in town that
I can listen to is a station called Light 106
.9. It's kind of like, it's soft rock, but it's
also, it's like a lot of the old... oldie but
really goodie things from the eighties. I hate
to even say this, but it's the only thing that's
popping into my head right now, and I don't know
why. Stuff like Michael Bolton, like All for
One, Boyz II Men, stuff like that. Stuff like
Chicago, like Survivor, stuff like that. And
I can listen to that station. I can listen to
the classic rock stations. but like the the the
top 40 station oh my god i used to love this
this is hilarious because what we've basically
done is we've become our parents that's i mean
because i remember listening to my parents music
not all of it because i actually like some a
lot of their stuff but you know i remember listening
to a lot of their stuff and my grandparents stuff
and thinking it was stupid you know i'm like
i don't like this i like this new you know cool
stuff You know, and it's hilarious because now
I listen to the shit that Angel listens to. And
because she's going through that. But while she's
listening to all that crap, it also changes very
quickly. I mean, it's hilarious because she's,
I don't even know how old she is, she's like
13 or something like that now. Is she your own
damn niece? Yeah, I don't know. I have no clue.
Put it this way, she was in love with the Jonas
Brothers. Now, she cannot stand them now. She
cannot stand them. I mean, it wasn't too long
ago that I was filling up her iPod with Jonas
Brothers crap. And now she can't stand listening
to it. And it's like, really? But that's how
fast things change. I will say that a - Small
and it's mainly Disney Channel's fault a small
guilty pleasure of mine is a couple of Selena
Gomez songs But I don't listen to them all the
time. I know who she is I've never I don't think
I've ever listened to anything from her the only
thing Disney related that I could say that I've
ever even remotely listened to Was and it was
just because it was popular at the time, but
it was like Britney Spears in sync the Backstreet
Boys all the people that were part of That whole
Disney thing that became pop music sensations,
you know, I mean that might have to skip a few
minutes in but you'll see Jesus Hey, if you're
gonna, you know, I Know I know Yeah, I got I
had to correct you on the name what is this Knight
Rider the house going on Oh, she's cute though
She's probably like 12 and I'm probably gonna
go to jail for saying that no The only problem
is I don't think anybody wants Justin Bieber
sloppy sex. Oh, he went out with she went out
with Justin Bieber. Yeah She sounds like she's
got a decent voice though Yes, she does. I'm
skipping a bit. You know, I mean that I can hear
some editing stuff You know what? I actually
really liked and this you know a lot of things
kind of changed with with this too in the music
industry, but With American Idol, when Kelly
Clarkson was on there in season one of American
Idol... That's the only season I even acknowledge.
Oh, I agree. I agree. That's the only... You
know, and then after that, the gay Clay Aiken
guy came out or whatever. Literally. Literally.
You see what I did there? That's what I'm talking
about. rimshot yeah exactly oh ho ho we're talking
about gay guys no ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho I mean
I remember watching the first two seasons really
of American Idol and the second one was when
Ruben Studdard won and Clay Aiken was second
but Clay Aiken got more radio play than Ruben
did and it's the same thing with Daughtry I mean
yeah I don't even know who won that but he didn't
he came in like third or something like that
I think Carrie Underwood won that year Carrie
Underwood's another one who's had, you know,
huge success, but it's a different genre of music
that she... Yeah, that's country. So, but I remember
watching Kelly Clarkson and listening to her
sing, and that was, you know, a very genuine,
very real voice that she had. I never really
liked American Idol because I always thought
it was kind of like a glorified karaoke contest.
Yeah. Mostly because I remember a time where
I was sitting there, I don't remember when it
was. And they did like an Elton John week, and
there's no secret that Elton John is probably
my favorite singer of all time. And I was sitting
there listening to some guy singing Benny and
the Jets, a song that I absolutely loved, and
the guy was singing it very well. I had no problems
with how he was singing it, but as he was singing
it, I constantly just kept hearing Elton John
in my head. And I was immediately comparing him
to Elton John. And I was like, this guy is terrible.
All he's doing, you know, he doesn't sound like
Elton John. He should not be singing Elton John's
song. Another one came out, and you know, a couple
weeks later, they did, it was like Motown, and
somebody was singing Stevie Wonder. I'm like,
you cannot do that. And it was, I was like, I
don't like this. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
And I honestly really never watched it since
then. And that was a long time ago. Now, I mean,
I've caught, you know, snippets here and there,
you know, but I mean, like I said, I think it's
just glorified. Season three was Fantasia's season.
She won that year. Yeah. I don't even know who
the hell that is. Yeah, Carrie Underwood won
in season four. I think it was between her, it
was her, Beau Bice, and when the hell did Daughtry
come out? Oh no. Daughtry went up against Taylor
Hicks. Oh, that dude that was 30 but it looked
like he was 40 or something. Oh, I remember that
guy. Yeah, that was a huge thing because they...
I remember like Simon thinking it wouldn't work
because he was too old and he wouldn't be marketable
See, that's the thing about American Idol. That's
that stuff like There's only like you mentioned
earlier about like pop bands like Backstreet
Boys and all that 90s stuff, right? There was
one one band that I think came out of England
or came out of somewhere overseas called Westlife
And I really like them. They kind of have the
same kind of feel as Backstreet Boys, but their
songs are a little bit better than the Backstreet
Boys, in my opinion. I didn't know at the time,
but as soon as American Idol came on, I heard
the name Simon Cowell. And I'm like, this guy
is a complete asshole. And I know that's what
his job was. But then I looked at the back, because
he said when they introduced him, I've been a
record producer for X number of years. Oh, yeah.
He knows what he's doing. I'm not saying he doesn't,
I just think he does it very unethically. Sometimes
I don't necessarily mind that it's done that
way because sometimes people need to be told
straight up and I always appreciated that about
him. You know, I mean, he could be a little bit
harsh. There's a big difference between told
straight up and being downright rude. I mean,
there's a huge difference. Well, he's also English.
That's true. Which is a staple of a lot of English.
Ain't that the truth. Amen. Yeah. But I mean,
I really do kind of put a lot of the blame of
modern pop music on American Idol. Oh, this was
also the season that had Catherine McPhee. She
was hot, too. But didn't she, like, become, like,
anorexic or something like that? I have no idea.
Or polemic? What? There's... No clue. Oh, personal
life. Here we go, we'll skip to that. Um, blah,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh,
she was 23. Oh my God! On February 2nd, 2008,
the then 23 -year -old McPhee married 42 -year
-old Nick Kokus. For a second there, I thought
you were gonna say Mick Jagger, but I know Mickey's
is like 60s hilarious But oh my god somebody
who's twice her age? That's why he's all over
iTunes who? Scotty McCreary He was he was the
season 10 winner of idle. Oh, he can kiss my
asshole boy I'm trying to - I don't - I mean
she - I honestly do remember hearing something
about her becoming bulimic or something like
that. Having some sort of eating disorder where
she, you know, felt she was too fat or something.
I'm trying to - and I can't see it. I don't understand
why they want to have it in here. You broke it.
Stupid Wikipedia. Here, we'll just put... Atherin.
Make sure you're eating this order. Um, I don't,
in reals, uh, yeah! The Senor was in treatment
for bulimia right up until the contrast began
taping. Huh. You know, I mean, that's... She's
a hot piece of ass. Giggity, giggity, giggity,
giggity, giggity. God, stop it. Our test servers
may have noticed that McPhee dropped it. Three
dress sizes from when she first auditioned for
American Idol, but the singer attributes the
weight loss to her recovery, not her illness.
Her battle with bulimia started her junior year
in high school, McBee said her real problem was
avoiding her emotions. Food was my crutch, McBee
told people. It's how I dealt with emotions and
uncomfortable situations. It was literally a
drug. The singer said, She thinks her body image
started when her body changed at 13. So she sprouted
boobs and then became self -conscious. Okay.
Before then, she said she didn't think about
boobs. She was a stick and could eat all she
wanted. Then, seemingly overnight, she had womanly
curves, which made her uncomfortable. So she
had been always... Though she had always been
athletic, taking dance classes and competing
on the school swim team, she started exercising
compulsively and starving herself. So she grew
boobs and thought she was fat. You know, and
I shouldn't laugh. I mean, that's definitely
a disease and an illness. It's a disorder, you
know, and... I mean I feel bad for anybody that
has to go through that obviously, but You know
it's like you know and I love Bob, but you know
Bob Gilmer But he's got OCD like a son of a bitch
and the other day He tweeted that it was really
affecting him because he was literally having
to count things four times and I'm sitting here,
and I read that and I love Bob. I mean Bob's
a very good friend of mine And I'm reading I'm
like I don't understand that I mean it's I'm
just I'm ignorant I really am. I'm ignorant to
how it works and the actual science and stuff
that goes behind some of these things because
I look at them and be like, why don't you just
stop? I mean, in my mind, it makes perfect sense,
but in theirs, it doesn't. There's something
that's completely different that, you know, their
brain mechanics and their wiring job is a little
screwy. So... And I mean, I myself, I recognize
that I have some OCD tendencies. I mean, I have
to fold my clothes a certain way, otherwise it
freaks me out. You know, but I don't think the
world's gonna end or something. I mean, it's
not that extreme. I'm sorry, like, I know this
is a very serious issue, but when you mention
the clothes, I don't know why, but I'm flashing
to Lieutenant Einhorn. Lace is out! Oh my god,
no, it's nothing like that. I mean, it's... And
it's not even that bad because I do the laundry
so it I don't have to worry about it too much
But when when burn does the laundry it it annoys
me because she folds my stuff wrong You know
and I don't like it but yeah, you know, whatever,
you know, so yeah, it's so Yeah, there's some
randomness for you. I Mean it's like me when
I had my toy collection, you know nobody You
know how people ask, oh, can I look at that?
And they think look means touch. Look means look
with your fucking eyeballs, not your hands. Exactly.
I do that all the time. My sister would be like,
I'll be holding my phone. She's like, can I see
that? I'm like, yeah. And I'll hold it up in
front of her face. And then she reaches out for
a nice slap. And I'm like, you see with your
eyes, not your hands. That's like people asking
me. And it's even the funniest thing is. When
I first moved into the apartment that I'm into
now, it was before I had my Wi -Fi stuff set
back up, which I do now, obviously, but someone
knocked on my door at like 10 o 'clock at night
saying, um, are you the one with the Wi -Fi signal
named blah, blah, blah, blah? And I said, no,
my internet's directly through my modem to my
computer. I don't have a wireless router. Yeah.
Oh, well, do you know the password to that? I
said, that's not my stuff. I can't help you.
I don't know. And it's like, seriously? Every
time I set up the wireless network, it's password
fucking protected. Oh my god. I don't know why
I... I have no idea why I decided to go to this,
but Matrix Prime uploaded a video talking about
the Kindle Fire. Yeah. Yeah, it doesn't like
the He's a he's a he's a total Mac or total Apple
whore, but he doesn't like the iPad to Why? Watch
the video. He tells you why I think in the video
Not that he'll ever listen to this because I
don't even think he listens to podcasting Oh,
he's got a Twitter, too? What the hell is all
this about? Yeah. Oh, you know what? I think
I've seen Spada retweet some of this stuff before.
Yeah. I retweeted a couple of his Creo videos.
He did Creo videos, too? Yeah. They're on his
channel. Probably the first videos he's done
in over three years. That's pretty ridiculous.
Let's see. We all can't be professional YouTube
producers. We all can't work for YouTube and
be professional. He's showing off his, or fuck
us. Okay, he did a video of ice tea. A YouTube
question and answer session. Why? People still
asking questions? Okay. I mean, when it comes
down to it, Him and Spada really are, Him, Spada,
and I say Simon, Dianzus, they are the godfathers
of Transformer reviewers. Everything, everything
started from those guys. Oh yeah, here it is,
Creo Optimus Prime, part 2. Jesse, you don't
have to do parts. You're a partner. No, he did
it because he didn't want to transform the damn
thing on camera. So part one is robot, part two
is vehicle. And he probably knows that he can
do that in one giant video, but really, who's
going to sit there and watch one giant video
of a damn Creo figure? TFWire movie review promo.
Okay. Good for you, Jesse. Waiting for a new
mic. You got a fancy mic. TFWire wants your Transformers
3 reviews. That was a while ago, I think. Yeah,
in July. Well, yeah, that was a while ago. We
want to hear from you. Yes, you. That's corny.
What are your thoughts on Transformers 3? Well,
Transformers 3 was never actually called Transformers
3. There's no such movie as Transformers 3. Oh,
good. Steve put out the latest episode of AT
-TF. Good deal. Your voicemail may be used in
the show. All voicemails become the property
of TF Lawyer. Look forward to hearing from you.
Music courtesy of Megaphone. Not your enemy.
And then he didn't even play it. Haven't played
I actually saw that space shuttle in the center
of my box. That's pretty cool Discussing dark
in the room. Did he did he like dark in the moon?
I don't remember. Oh He did a review of the dark
in the moon preview of Apple remote review Inspector
gadget 12 -inch is his most viewed video. Oh,
wow. Damn. He proposed me away a million views
Almost two. Yep. 1 ,700 ,000. That's his Deluxe
Movie Camaro Concept Bumblebee. I remember watching
that when it first came out. I mean, like I said,
when I got Transformers, those were the guys
that I watched. Jesse, Simon, and Matt. Those
are the people that I went to when I wanted to
learn how to do stuff. And it was actually watching
those people. I mean, if you watched some of
my early stuff, I... I mean, this is where I
tell people I've seen some of your early stuff.
I know it's really bad. I mean, it's pretty terrible.
But when I'm when I'm doing it, I'm very much
copying, you know, a lot of a lot of Jesse stuff.
I'm sitting there talking about, OK, you know,
the color is mostly like this, you know, some
black bits here and, you know, blah, blah, blah,
blah, blah. And, you know, that's where my style
developed from. I mean, watching him and that's
why I tell people that You know, I can give you
advice, but the best advice is just to be yourself,
because that's what I learned. That those videos,
I was just trying to be like Jesse. And most
people would try to be like me, and you shouldn't
do that. Just do your own thing. I don't even
know what my highest video is. I mean, I definitely
think his beats me. Probably. Let me look. Let
me look. Actions. I hate the way that they fucking
redesign this. Cuz I can't well at least all
the details are there when you get to the videos
page. Yeah, but I can't like Sort it by most
views You used to be able to do that I can't
so now I got to go to my channel page We go to
my channel see my most viewed My most oh, okay.
I guess it's not it's not too far off. But um
is my side swipe review sweet I got another video
that went over a million views my um my leader
class Optimus Prime that just that must have
just happened because it's at like one million
one thousand seven hundred awesome that's kind
of cool you know but um yeah so my deluxe side
swipe review from two years ago set one million
seven hundred I don't even see most views on
my channel. I see all uploads favorites playlists
That's all I see on the on the right hand side
there. It should be like Right under where the
search thing is Yeah, there should be a thing
that says like date added most viewed and top
viewed or top rated on the channel. Yeah Right
to the right of whatever video you have play
playing Hmm No, mine's just got uploads and favorites.
What is that theory fan zero zero one one or
something? 105 one Okay, that's close Kiss my
ass away. Oh wait. Yeah. Oh wait. Okay. So first
what you have to do click on uploads at the very
very top And then then it on the right underneath
where it says certainly Then it should say it.
Oh, okay, yeah, I got it. I got it. Cartooned
Tokyo Mater with you. Yeah. That's pretty good.
Oh, and you got 5 ,000 views on your PR thing.
Yeah. That was only because he featured it on
his channel. Yeah, that's true, yeah. I'm surprised
the Phineas and Ferb thing. I'm not surprised.
I mean, Phineas and Ferb is really popular, but
I'm surprised. That one video, the GeekCast Radio
special episode of Phineas and Ferb across the
second dimension, that one video, as soon as
I put it up, it went from like 25 views to almost
200 views within an hour and a half span. And
then it kept gradually going up, going up and
going up and going up. Why did you say? What
the hell? My Stan Bush video finally hit over
a thousand. Stan Bush. Where's the other one?
What are you laughing at? Shut up. What phone
is this? Okay, that's preview number one. Where
the fuck is preview number two? I don't know.
What the fuck? more shit from shell factory when
I thought I saw a tweet from you saying that
you want more stuff from them or something no
I was I published my gem review and I published
the interview with Christy marks oh when are
you gonna review Larry Kenny for me I got an
email in first why haven't you I haven't had
the time right now you need to hurry up I'm telling
you, imagine in Lionel's voice. Bitch, you need
to pay me. I'll pay you something, but that's
fine. I mean, imagine in Lionel's voice. I know.
I mean, imagine him saying. I know. That's good.
You don't want to say it now. Well, no, I know.
I'm just saying it would be cool. I know. And
you know, every time that you are interviewing
some voice actor. You're going to have to let
me know so I can see if there's anything I can
get them to say. How receptive are they usually
to doing stuff like that? Usually for repeaters,
it's cool. You just have to let them know in
advance so they have the lines. Like we've talked
to David Kaye twice. We've talked to Stan Bush
like six times. And the beautiful thing about
Stan is you just write what you want him to say.
He'll produce and edit the shit himself. Oh,
wow. So it's like high quality audio. Nice. Oh,
so like, for example, when it came to Tom Kenny,
how did you go about asking him to do that for
me? I waited till the end of the interview and
I said, would you mind if, you know, I said how
I usually end every interview because we have
an intro and an outro in between the interview.
Uh huh. Not in between at the book ending the
interview. We have the intro, the interview,
and then the outro. Right. So at the end of the
interview, I just said, you know, we'd like to
thank Mr. Kenny for taking the time today. We'd
ask you to hold the line, and we'll be back after
this. Right, right. Stop the recording. I'll
say, you know, we'll say, oh, you know, oh, my
God, it was so great to tell, you know, just,
you know, really nice, you know, just a real,
really praising the people. Because it is. It's
a real pleasure for us to talk to them. Yeah,
I can imagine. Shut up. Well no, I'm not joking.
I mean, I'm serious. That's definitely cool that
they take the time. Would you mind doing some
promos for us? Sometimes they will say sure.
Yeah. There's only been... Who's turned you down?
No, I'm not gonna fucking tell you. Stop asking.
You're an asshole. You're an asshole! Kiss my
asshole what? How the fuck did I get you that
shit? That's true. Well, we'll see. We'll see
if you can get me other ones and then we'll go
from there. You know, because otherwise I'm going
to be very upset and I'm going to cry because
I'm very sensitive. Right. Yeah, I'm sensitive.
I get sensitive sometimes. I think being out
in the land of California has made you sensitive.
I bet if you were still living in Michigan, you
would not be so sensitive. Well, if I was still
living out in Michigan, I would probably be a
lot fatter. than I am right now. Wait a second.
You're telling me that California made you skinny.
Wow. Sure. I got skinny while I lived out here,
right? So it must be that. That's my theory.
I don't know. What was I going to say? Oh, so
you were just like, how did you go about asking
him? What Tom yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm just kind
of curious. I mean cuz I actually remember hot
con 2010 Sean long was saw him and Actually was
running around after him. You know I mean Tom
was on his way to go do something else He had
like his publicist or some important person with
them And Sean was like, you know, hey Tom, Tom,
can you do it? Can you do something for me? Can
you do a voice? And the lady's like, no, he's
busy. We got to go. And Tom straight up was like,
no, that's fine. He's like, here, I can do it.
You know, the lady was like basically trying
to pull him away. And I mean, I mean, Tom was
a cool, cool guy to talk to. Um, actually it's
funny. We, I don't think I, I'm going to have
to go back to my recordings and I don't have
to look. I don't think we got this, but like
the, because we had a bunch of technical difficulties
that, that night and all this and all that. But
like when we first, when we first got on the
line with Tom, he was like, um, Oh, hi, you know,
yeah. I knew you were going to be calling. And
then we got to talking about a little bit about
SpongeBob. And he's like, yeah, sometimes I like
to answer the phone really, really angry. I'm
like, that would be so awesome. Angry SpongeBob
answers the phone. And he kind of did the SpongeBob
voice, but really, really angry. And I thought
it was hilarious. I don't think I still have
that clip, though. That's hilarious. But no,
after the interview finished, we kind of talked
a little bit. You know I said would you mind
doing some promos for us just I just got a couple
of them really quickly and I just basically read
in the lines and you know and he you know wrote
them down and read them back to me. So did he
I mean did he I mean did he stammer over saying
my name because I mean people I mean okay well
I don't know I mean some people that don't know
it you know can't say it you know but that was
that was pretty cool. Was I mean I was thrilled
I mean and like I said, I mean anybody that watches
my new videos they're gonna see that in the beginning
and I Actually put a lot of work into that. It's
a small like I Know you put a lot of work into
it because I was like wait How is he gonna make
it work to the mouth of Starscream? But no, it's
that's cool. I mean, you know cuz we actually
I actually phonetically sounded it out for him
so that way he knew how to say it. Yeah. Nice.
That's very cool. Absolutely cool. But yeah,
it was awesome talking to him. We talked to Scotty,
my buddy Scotty and I that do the Power Rangers
stuff. We talked to Karen Ashley and that was
pretty cool. Who was she again? She was Aisha,
the yellow ranger in Mighty Morphin. Oh, the
original series? Yeah. Yeah, I remember her.
She was the one that took over for Trini. I can't
remember the names, but you should try to get
that fat guy and the skinny guy that were like...
Bulk and skull yeah, I'm working on it I've the
way I try to do interviews especially for like
when we get to from the on the Power Rangers
podcast from the command center I'm gonna do
them by series. Oh, I mean cuz that's the way
it makes the most sense I mean like like the
guy that did the guy that replaced Tommy and
turbo sell one ward The guy that played TJ the
black guy You know, I may, you know, track him
down. I may track, you know... I know I can get
Johnny Young Bosch again. Um... Because I talked
to him once before. What's he doing? Anything?
Uh... He's got a band. He's got a band called
Eyeshine. Oh, he's not doing anything. Well...
He's not doing anything. That's okay. We can
say it. But the funny thing is about... About
Karen Ashley is... She was in so much so many
like she guessed it in so many different series
that I just absolutely loved money She was on
hanging with mr. Cooper for a couple episodes
She was Steve Harvey show for a couple episodes
on shows Yeah, I remember watching those were
some good. Uh, I Wanted were those 90 shows?
Yep Yeah, that's cuz she did hanging with mr.
Cooper while she was doing Power Rangers. She
was on a break from Power Rangers, and she did
hang out with Mr. Cooper. Yeah, that is very
true. You know, it's funny. I don't know if you
guys actually mentioned... Oh, I think you did
mention it. I mean, I think it was brought up
once. Me being the big Futurama fan that I am,
he does the voice for Yancy. Phil R? Yeah. No,
no, no, no. Tom Kenny. Oh, no, I don't I don't
think Futurama came up I think it was I think
I heard him mention it just once and kind of
a casual conversation or you know Like part of
something else he was talking about. Yeah, but
I mean Yancy's not a very big character what
he's only been in like God like two or three
episodes Not not very many, you know, but Yancy
Yancy is our fries younger brother That that
I don't know if you I mean I saw it because I
loved it but it's like there was a flashback
of when fry Was young and he was always getting
beat out by his brother his brother would always
copy him and would always do things better Than
him, you know, he would do the exact same thing,
but he would call it something else, you know,
like like playing basketball Philip would do
like like a sky hook, you know and Yancey would
copy the exact same thing but call it the space
hook You know and you know I would be like hey,
that's mine You know and they would constantly
keep yelling and fry you know and they would
always pick Yancy over Phil so It was always
kind of funny and then he got then fly got a
seven -leaf clover which Magically made everything
he did better than everything Yancy did and then
of course Yancy tried to steal it from him and
the gag was that he was trying to hide it from
Nancy. So he stuck it inside a copy of a record
of the Breakfast Club soundtrack. And he's like,
Nancy, you'll never think to look in here. The
Breakfast Club, I mean. Yeah, that's good stuff.
But I think maybe there was only like maybe that
episode. And I'm trying to think if there was
any other ones. I don't think there was any other.
Well, no, I know. I mean, I'm the big Futurama
fan. If you ever do a Futurama, you know, thing.
Yeah, Futurama is in Tooncast Beyond's schedule,
but it's not for a long while. Oh, son of a bitch.
Tooncast Beyond is scheduled through, like, 225
episodes. And we haven't even started season
one. We're starting season one next month. Oh,
jeez. So they're burning through some of that
shit because I can talk about Futurama all day
long sweet But yeah, I we interviewed Phil Lamar
and We we covered a lot of his stuff. He mentioned
few he mentioned Futurama a lot but we also covered
a lot of the animated stuff, yeah, and We asked
him, you know, do you You know, did you just
come into it with your own thing? Or did you
listen to Scatman? And of course, Phil being
who Phil is, he's a comic book geek. Right. He
knew who Scatman, anybody who's anybody knows
who Scatman Carruthers was. I mean, Hong Kong
fooey for Christ's sake. Right, exactly. You
know, and he said, no, they just told me to do
my own thing. I hadn't watched any other series.
And we asked him, so... If you did a scatman
impersonation, what would it sound like and I
swear to God I I mean I Literally almost passed
out. It's so fucking good. Really? I mean it
was it was like scatman came back from the grave
Wow I just posted the Lincoln in the chat there
because I actually cut that out and made it a
like a little snippet of a YouTube video I cut
that section out of the interview. Yeah It's
kind of part of it's kind of muffled because
I was kind of laughing in the middle of it, but
you can hear it He's like Megatron you're going
down. Yeah, he said it. It was like holy crap.
Where's scat man? I know he's here somewhere.
I Mean it just it sent chills down my spine.
You know I mean I thought his I mean first of
all obviously I'm a big fan of his because Futurama
and he does Hermes but um I mean, I really loved
what he did on Transformers Animated. Oh, yeah.
Jazz was amazing. Jazz, that was, even though
that wasn't Scatman, that was a damn good, you
know, I mean, I honestly thought that a lot of
the voices that they got for a lot of the characters
were, while they were not the same person doing
the original voices, you know, I mean, Phil did
a fantastic job as Jazz. You know, it was a terrific
homage to Scatman's. rendition of him you know
same thing with Tom Kenny in Starscream you know
it wasn't G1 Starscream and it shouldn't sound
like G1 Starscream and there's no one that can
do that voice like Chris originally did it you
know I will say that outside of Chris Lada right
Tom Kenny and Steven Blum oh absolutely are the
two second best Starscreams ever absolute you
listen to steven bloom when he's if you listen
to starscream intruder part -time i saw him do
it live and i don't know if you are a part -time
stop running it i'm looking in part -time uh...
if you listen to what i was gonna say was in
the episode where he's you know lying to megatron
megatron basically knows everything he's lied
about right right uh... and he's he's sitting
you know starscream starts Sitting there groveling
and starts and starts whining the first thing
I was like, oh my god He found a way to basically
emulate. Yeah. Yeah, he's channeling him at that
point in time I mean it was it's amazing seeing
them do this, you know, and like I said, I mean,
um Phil doing jazz was I'm trying to think if
he did anybody else really He did jazz. He did
one of the jet twins He did oil slick. He didn't
talk. Yeah What what no no oil slick talked Oil
slick what he had like one line Yeah, he had
one line, which is the worst line in the entire
damn series. What did he say? I remember what
he said you were so not a Rodimus fanboy It's
when Rodimus gets cosmic rusted. I mean, I remember
that Hold on. Let me pull it up here. Oh Come
on fucking so far. You got to be fucking shitting
me Oh, it shit the bed. Alright, let's see here.
Where is it? Damn it. Blah -dee -blah -blah -blah.
Animated episode. Transformer toy reviews. Jesus.
Okay, come on. Season... where is it? Did I ever
do a review of oil slick? I don't know. I don't
either. There's D -Banks. There's Hotshot. Blackout.
There's Rodimus. That was cool, too, getting
Judd to come back and do that. That was really
nice. All right. I know what's here. Here we
go. And his voice really has kind of aged, though.
It has. Okay, well, Slick just went past, there's
Cyclonus. Spiddor, ugh. Oh, there's Blackout.
Boom! Blackout, you fool, we need that space
bridge operational! We need that we need that
space bridge operation. Oh, sorry You say that
like it's a difficult thing You say that like
it's a difficult thing Autobot and that's when
he and that's when I also like cosmic rostrotomus
So there you go Shut up God here we go annoying
Phil Phil was amazing. We got a bunch of cool
stuff from Phil. Yeah Could actually send that
one to you and you could use it in your videos.
What is it? Here listen Have you ever used that
for anything else yeah, but it's not like it's
exclusive nobody else nobody else would know
notice that though Send me that that would work
now. I just got to try and do another lip matching
Yeah, you know and that you know honestly it's
not that bad because the animation for Transformers
animated in terms of mouth movements It's very
much like South Park where they only have a few
facial movements You know when it comes to the
mouth, so you can you can really kind of line
things up pretty good It's just a matter of finding
the right one. Yeah, you'll like this one Asshole
That was back when I first interviewed him Yeah,
well you need to get one being like I forgot
what I told you to tell him to say but I know
it's on Twitter I know You better have it written
down Oh my god, that's a dr. Wiley in James Corlett's
version. Yeah, it's awesome. Yeah What are these
other ones? List this up model online. Oh, yeah,
here we go Where is it open open? Sentinel online
now loading the beast unleashed podcast. That's
pretty cool. Yep Okay, what do we got for Gary
chalk, let's see here list Here we go, you are
listening to all things transformers Maximal,
maximize. Oh my god. Shut up. Oh, let's see.
Oh, I know where it gets really, really cool.
Let's see. Where is it? 2011. She wasn't supposed
to say the, but I wasn't going to correct her.
Did TFG want Mike? Yeah. Well, yeah, you just
take what you get. Yeah. Although, I'm not a
fan of sorry. Well, you kind of have to, I mean,
you know. Yeah, I'm not a fan of sorry, so. Well,
I mean, the only other ones I have from her is
like Bubbles and Batgirl. Well, you should get
Professor Sundeck. Well, shit, we were talking
to him, right? I know. Yeah, well there you go
I know when you're gonna be really jealous of
That doesn't work for me because he's talking
like Michelangelo. No, he's not. Raphael never
said cowabunga. Oh, he said cowabunga. Oh, he
didn't. Okay, hold on, hold on. He did not say
it as much as Mike, he did, but he did say it
a couple of times. Yeah, but that's not what
Raph was known for. You know, well, that wasn't
one of my biggest problems. Rob improvised that
line. What I wanted him to say, I didn't want
him to say, dude, did you say podcast? In the
very first episode, turtle tracks, when they're
fighting the foot soldiers and Mikey hits one
of them and it went clang. And Raf's like, clang?
Did you say clang? Because they realized the
foot soldiers are robots, but he didn't say it
the way I wanted him to. Oh, you should have
explained it a little bit better. Here's part
of the problem. I loved the turtles in time.
But the 80s Turtles, I absolutely could not stand.
I really wish they would have gotten the original
voice actors to do those voices. You mean in
Turtles Forever. What did I say? I said Turtles
in Time, didn't I? I'm sorry. Yeah, in Turtles
Forever. I wish they would have gotten the original
voice actors to do those 80s Turtles and not
make every single one of them sound stupid and
like Michelangelo. And I agree. But this promo
that he gave us from Raphael, yes, I agree. He
only said Cowabunga a couple of times. Right.
But the promo from Raph is the 87 Raph. Oh, yeah.
So. I mean, I know it is, but he's not saying
what Raph would say. I know. Well, we wanted
to make it marketable, damn it. I know. What
the hell was that? Dr. Scratchensniff. I don't
know who that is. From Animaniacs. Pinky. Barry
Gordon. Yeah, Barry Gordon was the original Donnie.
Yeah, you need to get him. I'd love to get him.
That would be awesome. Yeah, that because Donatello
obviously my favorite. Here's uh, here here's
the Jess one. I was telling you about often.
Who? Huh? Who did? Barry Gordon who was in well,
no, he was in Darkling Duck. Let me see Barry
voice cast. Let me see what he did. That's cool.
Yeah, that's what he said. That's cool. Ummm...
I don't see what he did in Darkling Dove. He
doesn't say, he doesn't show him. Come on now
fool, where you at? So yeah, we got plenty of
really awesome photos. Oh, he does, he does,
oh, I don't know if he still does it, but in
2008 Gordon debuted his daily internet talk show,
Left Talk, on Blog Talk Radio. Hmm, interesting.
Geez, yeah. Look at all this stuff. Ninja Turtles,
uh, Swamp Cats, um, yeah, the Snorks, the Jetsons,
Darkwing Duck, Batman the Animated Series. What,
what, what did he did in Batman Animated? Uh,
Smurfs, Tom and Jerry, Pac -Man. Pirates of Darkwater?
I mean, he's done some pretty good stuff. Yep.
And Barry's the type of voice actor that he doesn't
need to do a voice because his own voice is the
voice. That's true, yeah. He was on as a notable
guest star on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. He was
also on Star Trek Voyager. Interesting. Did you
know that Buster Bunny was also... uh... eric
reyman from jam jesus charlie adler i'd i'd never
know i never knew that i didn't know it either
that's just and then uh... i've started watching
the gym series because i got there from shelf
factory right and uh... it's charlie's at it's
charlie adler's voice and i'm like wait why is
buster bunny and 2012 animated series. Oh, yeah,
they're coming out with the new animated series
on Nickelodeon for Batman. No for Ninja Turtles.
Oh, yeah, that's next year. Yeah, Paulson's all
gung -ho about it though. So that's cool. Really?
Nope. He's playing Donatello this time around.
Yeah, that's that's what I was looking at. Yeah.
Detroit, Michigan. Yep, so we have anything else
we're gonna talk about here. No, it's it's almost
1 o 'clock. I want to go to bed Yeah, it's almost
4 o 'clock here. I was actually working on my
shrapnel. We're not shrapnel. Thundershred. There
you go. It's a not shrapnel ladies and gentlemen.
Let's just say everything is a not Fucking third
-party bullshit. Yeah, it's bullshit, but I mean
it's still a damn nice figure That really does
have and I mentioned this in my review. It really
does have a real Hasbro feel to it. I Just wish
we could get a real Hasbro price for the damn
thing Ain't that the truth? I mean 50 bucks.
I mean, that's not too bad, but Not too good
either. Nope All right. Fuck nugget. Hello discerning
podcast listeners. This is Tom Kenny and you
