About this Episode

The hosts discuss four Phineas and Ferb Season 3 episodes: "Phineas and Ferb Interrupted" finds the boys hit with a dull-and-boring ray and forced to watch grass grow while Candace tries to bust them with her mom; "A Real Boy" features Norm desperately wanting to be Doof's son while dealing with competition from Rodney's offspring; "Mommy Can You Hear Me?" has Candace in traction trying to get her mom's attention to bust her brothers, with hot chicken soup saving the world; and "Road Trip" closes the family vacation with the boys building a truck stop diner on their RV while Doof hauls boom juice across the tri-state area. The hosts break down the humor, character moments, and standout scenes from each episode.

Hello, Nets! This is Jesse from Rock Sugar, and

you're listening to the GeekCast Radio Network.

Keep it right here. Hello, and welcome to episode

68 of Pauka, brought to you by the GeekCast Radio

Network. I am one of your hosts, TFG and Mike.

Joining me, as always, is Pecan Gort Michael.

Hello. Hey, how's it going? It's going. Today

is the 68th day of summer. Yes, I'm still going

with that, even though it's the middle of winter.

Happy holidays, everybody. And this means it's

the day that the GCRN finally gets back to our

new quote -unquote cartoon review podcast. For

Phineas and Ferb, we are the podcaster. I can't.

See, this is what I'm talking about. I suck as

a podcaster. This is the podcast organization

article acronym. And we have another. Two for

today because we have four individual cartoons

two full episodes of Phineas and Ferb to talk

about it's a forfer Yeah How are you doing sir

for two hours? Yes. Yes. Yes, actually I think

this episode even though I said it's the middle

of winter and happy holidays or whatever else

I'm pretty sure this episode will air sometime

in January. So happy new year everybody It's

2021! Here's hoping we don't get a 404 error

code. Thank you. That's the worst joke I'll tell

all night. Moving right along. Yes, moving right

along. We start tonight with Phineas and Ferb

Interrupted. aren't really engaged but we're

totally engaged to be engaged to be engaged and

by the way that's not a need -to -know basis

why would Jeremy need to know hey hun I was just

reading this article about mothers and daughters

and really listening to your teen and I realized

I've hardly seen you all summer so for the whole

day today it's you and me whatever you want to

do I'm all yours anything at all wait a minute

anything Stacy I'll call you back Watching grass

grow? No, really. Whatcha doin'? Did you know

that the secret to successful grass growth is

establishing a regular fertilizer schedule? We

can make you a copy. Um, I'm good. Hello! Greetings

from the thing with two heads! Nothing? I told

you psych gags were cheap. They're watching grass

grow. What, with like a Supergirl formula or

something? Oh, that must be it. That's it, right?

Well, no. Grass is already so interesting. Why

bother? Come on, Mom. Let's sit up. I can't wait

to see her face when they get going. Just watch.

When mom tells Candace she wants to spend the

day with her, Candace spends the entire time

with her in the backyard so that she can bust

her brothers. Unfortunately, Phineas and Ferb's

grand plan for the day only entail watching the

grass grow after getting zapped by Dr. Doofenshmirtz's

dull and boringinator earlier that day. Meanwhile...

Spoilers. Oh my god, shut up. It... The show

is over 10 years old at this point. Meanwhile,

Agent P partners up with Dr. Doofenshmirtz to

fix the now -destroyed Dull and Boringinator

into a Dynamicinator in order to fix Phineas

and Ferb. Hey, what's that? Lint roller. Platypus

hair. Hmm, that reminds me. Where's Perry? Oh,

there you are, Perry! Um, can we up the action

a bit here? Okay, Ferb. If this keeps up, you're

getting back in the shirt. How about now? Hold

on. What are you guys up to? Just enjoying the

wonderful world of Lint. Come on, who do you

think you're fooling? Nobody. What the heck is

wrong with these two? It's like they were hit

with a doll and boring ray. Okay, Agent P, I've

got the surveillance tapes from earlier today.

It's really funny, they don't actually fix them.

They fix themselves. I think it just wears off.

Didn't realize it was like a limited effect.

It only stays around for a little while. Well

it's a good thing he didn't blast himself then.

Well he does blast himself, but I mean it's a

good thing he didn't blast himself like Phineas

and Ferb got blasted. Or like Mom got blasted.

Exactly. So dynamic. Yes. Was going to try to

be more dynamic during this show just as kind

of like exposition and I just can't do it I'm

not that good at being dynamic. It's kind of

low -key, you know, he's dull and boring folks

I am dull. I am boring boring boring boring beige

My favorite color What I do love though is that

My god, it's even more boring. They're even more

boring than I like they're more boring than Baljeet

Yeah, that's right. He's like save Buford and

I'm like, how does Buford get? Wow It's full

of stars. Yeah That's funny. I was actually thinking

that they they finally put Phineas and Ferb on

meds Like clearly the HDH ADHD pills Yeah, take

it in they're making them slow I Don't know grow

up watching the grass grow enjoying the pleasures

of lint brushes. I mean that's That's wholesome

stuff right there Well, I mean it is Disney.

It's not like they have sex spelled out in the

stars. That's right. Yes, folks. Every time I

get a chance to make a Lion King joke in a podcast,

the sex joke is the one I make. That's... Nothing

wrong with that. Nope. That's okay. What else

you got for Phineas and Ferb interrupted, whether

you liked it or you didn't like it kind of thing?

You know, there were things that I liked, definitely.

I mean... Don't worry I speak boring And then

they get bored everything like blurs out in the

background, you know, like a nice visual joke

that we're losing it What color paint can't be

beige You can do anything. Oh, I speak boring.

And getting your wiggling patch is so exciting.

Meow. Cat fight. So. Nice weather we are having.

You know, I was just saying to Ferb that the

atmospheric pressure seems a bit low today, which

would suggest cloudy skies, yet it's completely

sunny. Although, it would be interesting to take

an exact barometric reading. Did you know that

while meteorologists use millibars to chart atmospheric

pressure, a barometer has a second scale, or

ring, which reads in hectopascals? Of course,

it doesn't matter what measure you choose if

your barometer doesn't have its sensory range

factually set. Oh no! Bolsheet's in trouble!

I've got to get him out of there! You could get

your readings from the internet, which has a

wealth of resources... Bolsheet, focus! Come

back! So, the interesting thing about this episode

is you actually have Doof and Perry building

an Aider together. And Doof's all proud of himself.

He thinks they make a great team. Right? Yeah.

Thought you were going somewhere with that. No,

you know, I actually, I was, and then I looked

at my, I got notes here and I look at them and

I'm like, I don't know what this means. And I,

it's just weird to be putting... I mean, I wasn't

crying. And what are you doing here anyway? What,

destroying my dull and boring Anita once wasn't

enough for you? Wait, what are you? You're fixing

it? You are fixing it! Oh, you've had a change

of heart! How wonderful! Go ahead, re -build

it, period of Lattapos. Of course, you're doing

it all wrong. If you put it together that way,

it will be the reverse of a dull and boring -inator.

It would be a dynamic -inator, which would make

people more interesting. Oh, I get it! We shoot

me with the dynamic -inator, and I become more

interesting. And everyone else becomes duller

by comparison. Oh, that's brilliant! I'm so glad

I thought of it. Let's build it. Come on, let's

build it. Uh, the Blueprint song. Oh yeah, the

Blueprint song. They had a song this episode.

It was the Blueprint song. And I liked it a lot.

And one of the things I like the most about it

is it has a brass section. They actually differentiate

between high brass and low brass. So like a trumpet,

high brass, and then like a baritone as a low

brass. Low sound. And you know, as a... As a

band dad, you know, I kind of learned to recognize

these things Cuz my kids, you know play brass.

Are they doing anything yet? No, but we did find

this blueprint. Hey, I know what we're gonna

do today We're gonna watch golf on television.

What? Okay. We gotta jumpstart these guys. We

make a great team, don't we? I think we make

a great team. Do you think we make a great team?

Yeah, you do. I can tell With these blueprints

we can make a mighty tower! With these blueprints

we can mold a chocolate ball! With these blueprints

we can forge enormous yo -yos! With these blueprints

we can build anything at all! We've got blueprints,

glorious blueprints They give us endless potentialities

We could build an Android port You'd buy bionic

hearts for valentines Or giant dogs with artificial

fleas Because we've got blueprints, glorious

blueprints They make the things we dream reality

We can build just powered water wings But turn

them full with lantern springs And practically

anything you see We've got one prince, two princes,

nothing we can't do It seemed bigger when we

were singing. One of them does, anyway. The other

one has to just stay home. Exactly. No, both

of them did for a year, and then my older one

had a choice. You know, you can do band or you

can do programming classes. And he's like, I

want programming classes. And I'm like, that's

right, you do. He's like, I'm going to follow

in my father's footsteps. Exactly. Yeah. I mean,

you know, he's he totally he's a smart kid. He's

doing really good work. But yeah, so he decided

on the programming classes. But my younger one

isn't old enough for the programming class yet,

and he's stuck in bed. Sorry, kid. Sorry, kid.

It could be worse. It could be Spanish class

or French class, even though it would make him

more cultured. Well, I never... As a kid? in

school and like middle school in elementary and

middle school. I never wanted language classes.

Oh, they were the death of me. I had language

class for like five years straight and I loved

it. But, you know, I'm never going to use French

in my life. You know, if I took Spanish, at least

I have a chance to use it. Anyway, I like the

part with the mom. Mom says, boys, you're so

busted. Feel the burn. Feel the burn. Feel the

burn. I laughed so hard. And then Phineas is

like, I like pointing. Me too, sweet. I'm like,

oh my god. Just, oh. But what I like about this

is that they are finding things for Linda and

Lawrence throughout the whole series, even up

till now. They always find some, they don't ever

leave characters out. Sometimes maybe Isabella

may not speak. Sometimes Stacey may not be there.

Sometimes Jeremy may not be there. Sometimes

the parents, they'll say, oh, I'm going to the

antique store or we're going off. At least they're

going off and doing something. But when they

get to be part of the show and you get to see

how their personalities are, that's what I love

is that The creators of the show, the writers,

all of that, they write for all of the characters,

not just a certain part of it. Right, right.

And when we get in the road trip later, you know,

clearly a Lawrence episode. Oh, yes. Very much

so. And this has a lot of mom in it. Yeah, that's

very cool. Is there anything you didn't like

about Phineas and Ferb interrupted? You know,

I think I think I didn't like the the world's

greatest crazy slide I Like that they had to

make it in that that and they finally, you know

bring out, you know Their true personalities

for it. Yeah, but overall it's just another slide

I mean, it's not like yes, they saved Candice's

life and that's great. Absolutely, but It wasn't

the most ingenious thing Phineas and Herb have

done. Yeah, I think we've done those a few times

already. Yeah, pretty much. And the last thing

I like the most about this was, again, Perry

is building with two smurfs, but in the end,

he tears it down. Yep. Perry gives, and Perry

take it away. That's right. Because Perry is

a monster puss. Well, he's a heartbreaker. That's

right. He's an art killer, he's a heartbreaker.

What would you rate Phineas and Ferb Interrupted?

You know, this was a lot of fun. I was going

to give it a four out of five. Because this episode

was hit with a dynamic ray or something. I am

right there with you. I really enjoyed this.

There wasn't too many things in here, very rarely

anything in here. I mean... I guess the overall

irony of it is a little unnerving, but hey, it's

the way that they play. They play with the formula

without veering off completely. They twist it

to a point where it's new and different, but

it's still the same Phineas and Ferb formula

underneath, and that is very cool. So I also

will give it a 4 out of 5. Nice. Good morning,

Tanville! It's a beautiful day, so let's get

out there and be happy! Sunshine and bubblegum

Happiness, here comes the sun Sunshine, happiness

and gum Gumshine and bubblegum Happiness, we're

having fun You're always leaving the shelves.

Who does that? I like mine crunchy. Just keep

quiet over there. I've got a call from Rodney.

What do you want, Rodney? I thought I'd share

with you the progress on my new super zappanizer.

My son Orville helped me. He's a true evil genius.

I'm so glad I have a son who can assist me in

my work and help me become a better evil scientist

instead of a daughter who can, I don't know,

go shopping, I guess. Is that what it's like,

Heinz? Oh, that's ridiculous, Rodney. What you'd

have me believe is that daughters are useless.

And if only I had a son instead of a daughter,

I'd be much more successful and my life would

be so much better. Wait. No, Vanessa. No, wait,

wait. How long have you been standing there?

Vanessa? Vanessa, honey? Up next, we've got an

episode I can pretty much already tell you we're

both gonna give a five, folks, because Norm wants

to be a real boy. It's an all -Norm episode.

It's a goodly chunk of Norm episode. It's, yeah,

pretty much, yeah, it's a Norm episode. I mean,

Norm gets the song and everything else. When

Heinz thinks Vanessa overhears him say he would

rather have a son... To to do his evil bidding

he feels terrible so he intends to zap her with

the forget about it anator Forget about it forget

about it forget about it Yeah, get about it forget

about it it makes people forget about what they're

thinking right at that moment I call it the forget

about it anator I love that name forget about

it forget about it forget about it Meanwhile,

Norm shares his feelings of wanting to be a real

boy with Duven Schmertz and decides to play up

the son role. Back at the Flynn Fletcher household,

Candice has Stacy hypnotize her into ignoring

the need to bust her brothers so that she can

spend the entire afternoon relaxing with Jeremy.

But unfortunately the hypnosis trigger words

end up playing right into her date with Jeremy.

Holy guacamole. It's a galloping gecko. It's

a leaping lizard. Good lord. You didn't write

all those down? No. Honestly, I thought you would

just be rattling them off one after another.

He has like five or six of them. Yeah, he did.

Like someone's got a thesaurus. Oh boy. What

did you like about this one? I think I got hit

with a forget -about -it nadir. Oh no. I don't

know. Actually, there wasn't much not to like

about this one. I mean, we do love Norm. Yes,

we do. Norm really wants to be the son the duke

really doesn't want. Yeah. And despite the fact

that he's jealous of Rodney's son. Rodney son

is just such a throwaway character here. Yeah,

I mean it's nothing It's like Rodney's obviously

Rodney is just trying to throw it and do face,

but it's really nothing It's it's kind of like

oh look throwaway character, and then you never

see him again Which is strange because a lot

of times even you know Throw other throwaway

characters like you know Cory Burton is droopy

You know show up and and they still come back

Yeah But they reference a bunch of stuff love

muffins here Rodney's here Candice's room was

full of weird posters From 1843, yeah Why did

I even buy that place exactly? It's like is there

a band called leaping lizards Are they as good

or better than? I Forget the name of that band

now that band that she's always wanting to go

see Actually, they're there There was something

like that on Jim and the holograms back in the

80s Really? Yeah That's funny. Actually, I didn't

I wouldn't have caught that Oh good. That shows

that good Vanessa shows up. Yeah, this shows

up, you know She doesn't sing. Not this time,

no. Not this time. But she gets, like, one line,

which was surprising. Yep. And she sympathizes.

You have to wait until the very end of the episode,

where she says that she sympathizes with Norm.

Yep. And I saw her, and the whole time she's

got her headphones on, and I'm like, she's not

going to say anything, is she? Like, her voice

actress isn't actually there. She just does not

have a speaking line or speaking role this episode.

All right, and the best part is norm wrapping.

Oh, absolutely. Yeah I'm a lonely orphan robot.

Just a scrap metal tower a Misfired piston run

on squirrel power Not a titanium toy, don't give

my battery flattery What I want is more green

battery A brain, some veins, it's a pottery I

got a squirrel on a treadmill where my heart

should be If I was real, I could really emote

Instead of shorting out whenever he sits on the

remote I want a dad, a father, someone I can

call pop Someone to take me out for Maldives

at the soda shop Someone to take me on a fishing

trip or teach me how to ride a bike Who'll pat

me on the head and ask me, how you doing tyke?

How you doing tyke? The the whole song I love

the whole song but it reminds me of the records

on my hands song Yeah It's like we're gonna go

back to the to the well for rap, you know, what

do we got? Oh, I got the records on my hands

Oh cool. Let's just use that. We'll use the same

beat. Let's put some different words in there

Something that norm can rap to absolutely yes

but norm episodes are are very very fun and very

awesome and interesting what I like about it

is you know we see norms day and how he gets

ready for his day and I didn't realize his head

was had like we we a couple weeks a couple episodes

ago we saw norms old head his original prototype

head and now he has multiple heads with like

happy and sad I'm like, OK, really, Norm? You

need all those head? Yeah, exactly. And they're

all the same expression, right? You know, he

should have stopped while he was ahead. Where's

that bird with the rim shot at when you really

need him? You know, that Norm. He was ahead of

his time. Darn that Norm. That Norm. I don't

have that Norm. What are you getting? Go ahead.

What? Go ahead. No, no, no, go ahead. Oh, I was

just gonna say, uh, Norm has backup singers.

Yep. Yep. So very cool. They're very cool. Hey

gang, future TFG and Mike here, and I just wanted

to cut in here really quickly and say, in production

of this episode, I found out that Norm just doesn't

have cool backup singers. It is Vanessa. as his

backup singer voice. Olivia Olsen does the singing

voice on the rap song singing parts for Norm.

So yes, it is very awesome that Norm has backup

singers in his rap. Vanessa rules. Yeah, so,

anything interesting about that that you want

to discuss before I throw a score at it? It's

a five, folks. Just admit it. I give it a five.

I like the song. I like the references. I like

the fact that they're suddenly remembering that

there's all this other stuff going on that they

can drag into season three. Or at least mention

it so we don't forget it exists. Yeah, exactly.

Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. I wrote down

a bunch of stuff, but it doesn't really matter

because we enjoyed it. And there isn't really

that much here to dice - there isn't much here

to not enjoy. Yeah. Because again, it's Norm

episode with Vanessa, even though she has one

or two lines. Vanessa's here, Norm's here, and

honestly, that's the best part of the different

Schmertz side of the whole show. Well, she didn't

sing. I mean - Okay, she didn't sing, but are

you really gonna take off a point? No, no, I'm

not. She could have been like the backup dancer.

She could have - You know? Yeah, but no, no,

no. I know what rap girls look like on video.

Are you trying to say she's the in living color

version of JLo? Anyway. Oh, Lord. That's so 90s.

It is very, I'm surprised you went back that

far. Well, I had to figure out some way to incorporate

JLo into this show. She looks like one of those

rap guys girlfriends. That's right. Oh Lord Five

out of five everybody. That's right And you know

mom sees the contraption three times, yep She

keeps getting sad. I'm wondering if there's gonna

be like long -term complications being hit with

an anator that many times in a row Brain cancer

Yeah, that would not be good That would not be

good. Alright, up next we've got Mummy. Can you

hear me? Oh lord. So I was looking up at the

stars thinking about Jeremy. Only I was walking

down the stairs at the time. And now I'm stuck

in bed! Doctor's orders! If I re -injure it,

I'll have to miss the Tiny Cowboy concert tomorrow.

Backstage passes! Candace! See you soon, Stace.

Your father wants me to listen to one of his

soundscapes, so I figured I'd strap on the headphones

and finally get those flowers planted in the

backyard. Do you think you can entertain yourself

up here alone? Sure. Maybe I'll count useless

limbs. One. Don't bother. We've got the perfect

cure for boredom. Well, looks like things are

under control here. Don't bring that junk in

here. It's not junk. It's cool stuff to play

with so you don't succumb to cabin fever. Please.

A toy helicopter? Oh, and look. Mindy Mimic.

Boring. Boring. Or you could do some reading.

Ferb and I wrote a 28 volume science fiction

swashbuckling historical romance tell -all potboiler

mystery satire buddy cop adventure tragedy how

-to action novel. Also, we rigged up this closed

-circuit video screen for you. And then we planted

cameras at strategic locations around the house,

so you can still be with the family while you're

convalescing. Another All Mom episode, which

is not bad. I mean, it's kind of an All Mom episode.

Mom! Mom! Mom! Please stop. That's the bad part

about this episode. Never have kids. We don't

have any plans on doing so. Mom! Mom! Mom! But

you don't have to worry about Candice, because

she's in traction. Yeah, after she injures her

ankle and is told to stay in bed, she drives

herself crazy trying to get her mom's attention

in order to bust her brothers. Fortunately, Phineas

and Ferb provide her with a box of items to stave

off her boredom. Whatever, I can't talk. See,

I told you I'm the worst podcaster ever. I thought

you were going to say, steal, and then you just...

I'm like, did she steal stuff, too? No, no, no.

It's not my notes. No, no, no. However, it ends

up being more of a hindrance until she unknowingly

helps the boys warn their cosmonaut friend about

a dangerous obstacle approaching them. Meanwhile,

Perry interrupts Dr. Juffin Schmertz's chicken

soup themed escapade. Oof. It's a raisin. It's

a raisin with a fly underneath it. That's right.

It was a cleverly disguised fly. Yes, yes it

was. Oh boy, this one. Um, I'm... Did you like

it? By the end of this, I want to strangle Candice.

Because her... And it's so funny because when

I was recording the... In order to get the clips

that I put in the podcast I always record the

full episodes so I can then go I actually end

up watching these cartoons like seven times before

you find people who might be listening to this

podcast actually hear it because between taking

back to the audio to make sure I get clips The

right clips whatever clips I want to put in yeah

By all of that as I was recording the audio Karen

came out here to get something to eat or something

to drink or whatever and It was at the very end

of this episode ma She's like, oh my god, that

is so horrible. How can you watch that show?

Over and over and over again. Yes, my lovely

wife is not a Phineas and Ferb fan sadly It's

okay. There's plenty of stuff that she likes

that I just don't give a rat's petunia about

either so That's, you know, how relationships

are forged, you know. That's right. She likes

some things and she likes other things. Yep.

So what did you like about Candice's big day

here or whatever you want? Mommy, can you hear

me? Hey, where's Perry? Good morning, Agent P.

Duven Schmerz has been buying up all the hard

salami, Kaiser rolls, pickles, roast beef, mustard,

horseradish, sauerkraut, and pimento loaf in

the Tri -State area. We don't know what it means,

but it sounds like a recipe for evil. Or at least

an evil sandwich. I don't know. I mean, Candace

is dragging herself physically and painfully

across the house and across the yard, which kind

of made me giggle a little bit. But for the most

part, this didn't do a whole lot for me. No.

You know, Candace saves the space station. There's

a Ducky Momo appearance. One more instance of

Barry the planet bus, you know, yeah without

the hat you don't know it's him. Yeah, and that

that never gets old sort of which For people

that may be listening to this we're recording

this I I shouldn't be revealing these behind

-the -scenes things, but I have to We're recording

this out of order because Michael watched these

before across the second dimension across the

second dimension as we heard last time was when

the other doofenshmirtz pointed out the platypus

is perry the platypus and our doofenshmirtz is

like mind blown i don't think he ever got it

i don't think i don't think he ever did either

He got the realization but it never he still

didn't believe it because they kind of erased

that whole thing, right? But this has been an

ongoing joke truly the platypus and oh, it's

a platypus and then he puts on the hat they don't

bury the platypus It's funny. I I like it. I

like the fact that they revisit it every so often

I want to say that in the original airing these

actually came out before the movie To the wiki

folks Well, you know what you that put them in

the wrong order Yes, these did come out before

the movie Yeah, Phineas and Ferb interrupted

is 309 a a real boys 309 be mommy Can you hear

me? Which is this one is 310 a and road trip

is 310 be and then the movie came out August

5th 2011 on disney channel so yes these did come

before the movie but because of the way that

i set up the schedule i put the movie first i

don't know why i did that i have no clue oh i

know why because no no i know why because again

we're watching these in season three or Hopefully

now both watching them on Disney Plus because

we're watching them on Disney Plus Whatever order

that they have the episodes in is the way that

we're doing the show because that way I don't

have to watch episode 310 a First part and then

have to watch 311. I don't have to go back and

forth between multiple episodes I just want to

stream the whole thing all the way through so

that's why we're doing that and that's why episode

67 last time was right You know, I spent time

tonight re -listening to the original You shouldn't

be talking about that now. You should be talking

about that when we record the movie episode.

But there's a specific thing I wanted to say

about it in that we talk about these episodes

in that podcast. Oh, wow. Yeah. We talk about

the fact that I think these were the ones that

were freshest in our mind at the time, but we

were making reference to these. Wow. Yeah, that'll

be in the show notes for episode 67, folks, and

maybe I'll put it in this one, too, so people

can go back nine years and listen to that old

audio. It was nine years ago! Yes, yes it was.

I was so surprised. I referenced my five -year

-old, and I'm like, oh my god, my kid's like

14 now. This is forever ago. Yeah. That's what

happens when you podcast for over 10 years. Didn't

realize it was that far back, that's all. Oh

yes, very, very far back. Well, I'm sure we'll

talk about that when that episode comes around.

Yeah. And the people have already heard it by

now. All right. Yeah, Mummy, can you hear me?

Honestly, I think... Doof's chicken soup plot

is better than Candice trying to re -injure her

leg Just to bust the boys It's neither one goes

over very well and technically Doof saves the

city and possibly the world That's true As it

says chicken supinator that blasts the asteroid

This is like an extinction level event right

and he shoots it back using the power of Molten

a lava hot chicken soup or something chicken

soup that he bought with them Telling me or something.

Oh, that's what yes. Thank you. Yeah, okay, so

You get a free a redeeming quality what? No,

no, no, you get a free that of chicken soup with

every $40 purchase all that chicken soup, but

I didn't have to spend a nickel and I'm like

Every $40 purchase you have like a pile of deli

meat that is spo - like... Anyway, back story!

It all started the other day when I was visiting

Tony's Deli. I had gotten a bowl of chicken soup,

but it had a fly in it. It's a raisin. It's a

fly! It's a raisin. So, I took it to an entomologist.

It's a raisin. But on the other side is a fly.

Of course, by then my soup was cold and it was

too late for a refund. But now, I will wash Tony's

deli off the face of the tri -state area with

my new Chicken Soupinator! It blasts out a super

concentrated rocket -like bolt of boiling hot

chicken soup, powerful enough to demolish an

entire city block! You wouldn't believe how much

chicken soup that baby takes, though. Luckily,

Aaron's deli was having a sale. Half a gallon

of chicken soup free with every $40 purchase.

chicken soup and it didn't cost me a nickel haha

of course i had to buy a lot of food mostly deli

meat they're piled up in the halls it's kind

of warm in there i hope they keep come on stacy

come on stacy hey turn around turn around this

is it yeah i need you Oh, hi, Stacey. What? It's

hard to hear over all the noise we're making.

Is Candice enjoying the live video? She's watching

right now. Hi, Candice. We're waving back, but

we can't see or hear you. Ugh! Wow, I'm surprised

the spelling checker didn't catch that. I've

got to deliver a message to your mom. She's right

over there. Delivery! Mrs. Flynn Fletcher! Oh,

hi, Stacey. Take a look. Oh, the Azaleas. You

can put those down over there. Okay, blow it

here. Oh, poor little regular platypus. Did mean

old Perry the platypus stick you in there? Hey,

why did you do... Perry the platypus? I don't

know how you escaped or what you did with the

other platypus, but here, these two -day -old

bagels are harder than Bessemer steel. Have an

eye! And how about some potato salad? Take this

marble rye, and here's some Braunschweiger, and

some pickled herring, and ooh, a red onion. A

Gunter Flaggendorf? But how do you know that

sandwich? You only made one movie, and that was

back in Gimmick... Exactly. You know, it's...

Wait, what the hell, Doof? You know, if you get

a dollar off for every ten dollars you spend,

you didn't save 50 bucks, you spent 500 dollars.

Exactly. Again, why is she paying him alimony?

I don't understand this. Whatever. Anyway, I'm

not going to bring it up anymore. Did they even

put it in the refrigerator? I know, right? Like

sleeps it in the hall. What happened to leave

it there? I hope it doesn't smell horrible. I

mean, the only reason why the only reason why

it was left there is to so Perry could make the

the duker flag and door for whatever it was.

How do you know how to make that sandwich? How

did you get 12 pickles in there? It just doesn't

make any sense. I don't know, it fell a little

flat for me. What would you rank this one? Well,

before I rank it, I do want to say, you know,

the asteroid screaming to Earth. I mean, Doof

didn't even have to fly up there and drill 800

feet. I mean, can you imagine if Michael Bay

made Armageddon with nuclear chicken soup? It

would be a completely different movie! I'll buy

that, sure. Yeah, for a dollar. Well, I was going

to say also, Bruce Willis drowning in Flaming

Hot Chicken Soup would be worth watching. Not

a Bruce Willis fan, are you? No, I love Bruce

Willis. I just think of creative ways for him

to die. Hard. Whoa! Yes! Which is not a Christmas

movie. I rate this a 3 out of 5. You know, I

only give it a 2. out of five, despite my love

of 2001 Space Odyssey references. Yeah, the only

reason why I gave it a three is because now that

I think about it, hot chicken soup saving the

world, not just Danville, but the world, that's

kinda middle ground to me. It's not good, it's

not bad, it's just there. I don't know. Okay,

no problem. giving it a two. Number two. Out

of all the people on the entire planet, us, you

want us to drill eight? Like I now have to put

the Armageddon line in there about you want us

to do this seriously? Where are the eight people?

We're the only eight people on this planet. Anyway.

Six billion people on the planet. Why'd you guys

call me? You know, drilling's a science. It's

an art. I'm a third generation driller. Doing

it all my life, and I still haven't got it all

figured out. I assumed you sent for me because

somebody told you I was the best. Well, I'm only

the best because I work with the best. If you

don't trust the men you're working with, you're

as good as dead. You want to send these boys

into space? Fine. I'm sure they'll make good

astronauts. They don't know jack about drilling.

What's your contingency plan? Contingency plan?

Your backup plan. You gotta have some kind of

backup plan, right? No, we don't have a backup

plan, this is it. And this is the best that you

could, that the government, the U .S. government

can come up with? I mean, you're NASA for crying

out loud. You put a man on the moon, you're geniuses.

You're the guys that think his shit up. I'm sure

you got a team of men sitting around somewhere

right now just thinking shit up and somebody

backing them up. You tell them you don't have

a backup plan, that these eight boy scouts right

here, that is the world's hope, that's what you're

telling me? Yeah. Oh, Jesus. Damn it. It was

a good movie. I mean, I... Of course it was a

good movie. It was before Michael Bay went all

robotic and stupid. Well, it was... Well, you

know, it still had all the hallmarks of Michael

Bay, and it had Steven Tyler's daughter, who

to this day still looks pretty good. Yes, yes,

she does. Hey, Dad! It says on this map that

America's largest sports sock is just three miles

down the road. Are we gonna stop there? I'm sorry

boys, but we only have to sundown to return this

RV to the rental place. We'll have to do it on

our next road trip, okay? I'm ready for this

trip to be over. I'm tired of being in mobile

lockdown where I can't even call my friends because

of spotty cell service. That combined with the

refrigerator door opening every time we make

a left and sharing a bathroom the size of a postage

stamp. The only consolation for this whole rigmarole,

besides the fact we didn't stop at one of those

greasy spoon road stop diners, is the fact that

you two haven't done anything bustable for a

whole week. Seven solid days, are you even listening

to me? Well, we were at first, but then you got

all echoey and far away. Oh, I'm going to go

take a nap. Ferb, Candice is right. We didn't

get a chance to stop at a classic all -American

roadside truck stop diner. You know, the jukeboxes,

the sassy waitresses, the little bowl of mints

by the cash register. Oh, too bad you can't build

one. Heesh. Ferb, I know what we're going to

do today. Hey. There's Perry! All right, last

up tonight in episode 68, day 68 here inside

Palco, we were going on a road trip. On the last

day of the Flynn Fletcher family road trip, Candice

thinks she'll finally have a chance, a couple

hours, to relax and not worry about busting her

brothers. However, Phineas and Ferb decide to

build a truck stop diner on top of the RV. Meanwhile,

Dr. Dufrin Schmerz is also doing... His own road

trip, but he's using a big rig to transport his

boom juice to the Tri -State area. What the...

What the Ferb? Well, this is what strains your

belief. Wait a minute. My suspension of belief

is temporarily... No, no, no. It's the fact that

he has to get a truck full of boom juice. Like,

this is why all his, besides Perry destroying

them, this is why all of his extra explosions

happen is because he leaves boom juice in his

building. That'll do it. I guess. Then again,

everybody needs to be hit by flaming hot cacti

at some point. That's funny that my last note

is, you know, four out of five for flaming cacti.

But I get ahead of myself here. Yes. Oh, I like

Candice's description of the RV with the postage

stamp bathroom. She's not wrong. Well, I think

people do that now, you know, they they they

rig like buses as tiny homes and they travel.

Yep. And that would be cool. I mean, it's fun

to kind of like watch other people do it. I don't

think I'd want to do it. You know, because I

enjoy my 85 inch TV and you can't fit that into

a bus, you know. Not without using a whole bunch

of windows to replace it. Well, I mean, you can

strap it to the ceiling and just kind of like

nestle yourself next to the muffler. I'd be able

to. look up and catch a glimpse of it or you

know put it on the side of the bus so everyone

else can watch it as they drive by yep but no

i i uh don't think i'd enjoy that hey is that

music Hey, Candice. Welcome to the no -stop truck

stop. It's like a little bit of home on the road.

Trinius, my last peaceful hours of vacation,

and you built this? More coffee, miss. This is

unbelievable. When mom sees this one, she's gonna

completely flip. Miss, I'd like the breakfast

special. Honestly, you can't close your eyes

for one second around you boys. Hash browns or

fruit? Hash browns. You're having fruit. You

are so busted. Hey, some orange juice over here.

Yeah, hold your horses. backyard, but at least

that's stationary. Do the eggs southwest have

bacon in them? For a bacon in the southwest?

There's bacon. Is the bacon good? It's bacon.

Okay, then I'll take a... Not getting any younger

here. This is our no -stop truck stop. Come on

in, take a break from hauling that load. We got

coffee that's hot and ice that's nice. A little

bit of home on the road. We got lots of gravy

to fill up all our pans And restroom's out in

back if you have to wash your hands If an armadillo

is your pillow and your cab is your boat Then

come on in and pour a little bit of home on the

road Enjoy the view while you're slurping homemade

stew And when you're finished you can sit and

chat our juke plays latest hits from 1966 we

may not know where we're going but we sure know

where it's at there's chicken pot steak and devil's

smooth cake as we whirl through another zip code

there's butter that's real and butter that's

fake it's a little bit of Dig the song the song

is awesome This the road trip song it's very

like it's very oh wait a minute now. I'm thinking

of something else the truck stop Yeah, the montage

yeah, the montage yeah, I love that song that

song is so cool. You know I Take it or leave

it. I was actually enjoying the the very short

country version of the H &P song. Oh, Alabama

-bound? Yeah, well, no, it was still like doo

-doo -doo -doo -doo, but it was talking about

semi -aquatic mammal of action, except it was

slow and very country -like. And I'm glad that

it ended before his dog died and his wife left

him. So that was next but it was a very short

rendition. Yeah Yeah, I didn't even realize that

yodel yodel obey me instrumental is in this But

I Didn't hear it. I didn't hear it either. I

think I missed it Me too, probably most likely

but no, I love like I said, I love a little bit

of home on the road and obviously hey look we

get Drupian his wife. Yeah Cory Burton. Yep.

I actually have a new favorite Cory Burton voice.

I have a lot of favorite Cory Burton voices.

He does a lot of cool stuff. He does a lot of

cool stuff. He's a very cool, cool person. I

hope to hopefully soon interview him. I don't

know if that's ever gonna happen. I actually

have to reach out. Waiting 10 years for that.

Hey, I've been waiting. Wasn't he Ratchet in

Transformers Animated? Yeah, and Megatron. He

was Megatron. He was Megatron? Yeah. Yeah. Alright.

Pretty sure. Anyway, what I love, besides him

being the computer voice here in Phineas and

Ferb and doing everything else that he does and

being droopy, what I love, his new character

that I absolutely love, because as I've said,

I probably said this off here, I don't know if

I've said it on air at all. Sure. But I've been

watching Star Wars The Clone Wars on Disney Plus

as well. Yeah. And he is Cad Bane, and I friggin'

love the voice he chose to use for that character.

Yeah. It's my first introduction to that character,

but I absolutely love it. Oh, Cad Bane. Yeah,

he's a good character. And speaking of Clone

Wars actors, Dee Bradley Baker. Perry the Platypus.

Perry the Platypus plays like every clone. Yep.

Every clone. And the funny thing is, is each

clone, if you listen, same voice, different character.

Yeah. Different character and a little bit of,

little bit of different cadence to each one,

depending on which one it is. It's amazing. Yeah.

He does so good. And when you get into the later

on of the season or later on in the series, I

should say, and you're introduced to the, well,

I should say as the clones get older, they get

more defined as as individual characters and

like you get into the bad batch and each one

is a distinct individual that all have the same

voice yeah it's absolutely easy he's just crazy

good is he just much more than that yeah I can't

do that but you know he can Please stop trying

to be Perry the Platypus. I think I'm going to

injure myself like that. Yeah, because I'm just

going to have to cut all that out and put Perry

the Platypus in here somehow, which I probably

won't, because I want people to show that you're

injuring yourself. Do it at least once, though.

Stop it, you're ruining my eardrums, dammit.

Yes, he was the voice of Megatron, Ratchet, and

Shockwave in Transformers Animated. Nice. Yes.

Also... Knock it off. Don't say woohoo or you'll

lose your serious man points. That's right. Returning

to my notes. Like a boss. Oh, what am I doing?

That's it, Ferry the Platypus. There's nowhere

left to run. You have officially overstayed your

welcome. Hey! No fair! Okay, also Lawrence gets

a lot of speaking lines in this one since he's

driving the RV and he's talking He ends up talking

with do find the radio You know the CB radio

citizens. Yeah, that's right That's funny. I

used to have a CB radio Long time ago. Yeah,

so did my dad we used to use it all the time

my cousin Bobby, I think My Aunt Judy's son,

he had a CB and he would talk on it all the time.

Very, very cool. And of course, Doof doesn't

know a damn thing. No, no. He doesn't know his

10 from his 20. He doesn't know his 10 from his

20 or a nickel on a dime or whatever. He doesn't

know anything. If Lawrence wasn't there to explain

it to me, I wouldn't know either. Eh, yeah. True.

Alright. That's the Lawrence line. There seems

to be a lot more corn here than most shortcuts.

Yes. Yes, there does. There does. His GPS's are

evil, and they will lie to you. He will end up

in a cornfield. Or a lake. Or worse. Yes. Or,

you know, Cactus Gorge. Cactus Gorge. Come on

man, I mean I get it cactus gorge Hello, because

the whole thing has to be hot flaming cactus

at the end of the episode, but exactly Yeah,

but at the same time they're driving through

a desert where there's a cactus gorge and yet

It's a very well irrigated desert because there's

also a core Going right through the middle of

it. Yeah thought that was kind of strange. Yeah,

I blame the GPS Of course, that's the whole point

This field is very corny. So what would you rank

this one? I've got to give it a five. I really

dug it. I thought it was great. And the only

reason why it doesn't get a four or four and

a half is because of, you know, droopy and his

wife, because any time they show up, it's just

like you and Vanessa. It's time she shows up.

It's a five. Well, she shows up and says it's

a five. I gave this one four out of five for

assorted mammal chunks. Assorted mammal chunks?

Well, you know, Candice is in there complaining

and waiting tables at the same time. Oddly, I

don't know how she does it. And Ferb is in the

back making the food, right? And he's got this

55 -gallon drum. And I had to, he's dumping it

into a pot and I had to pause it and read it,

but it said assorted mammal chunks. Oh my God,

I did not do that. Well, he did it like three

or four times where he had stuff he was dumping

into pots and one of them was assorted mammal

chunks. And I was like, that is awesome. Also,

so I can apparently isn't any good Is it any

good it's bacon Bacon, but yeah, so I give it

a four out of five. I probably would have went

higher But honestly, I don't like country music.

So Not a fan of that genre I'm pretty sure I've

told this story before at some point whether

it's on this show or any of my other podcasts

I've done tuned cast if you have podcasts all

things reformers, whatever Going from Massachusetts

as a 13 year old in 1993 down to Kentucky I Figured

Kentucky. The only thing they have is country

music for about two years That's the only kind

of music there is isn't it? I thought, well again,

because as I've said, at least the way I see

my hometown and my home state of Massachusetts

is it's a completely different way. It's completely

different from anywhere else. As everything else,

like Massachusetts, Illinois, Wyoming, whatever,

it's all different. But like Kentucky to me,

when my dad moved down there in 88, it was all,

it was all country. It was all, like I went down

and visited in 1990 and it was all. fields and

i'm coming from massachusetts where it's yes

it's suburbs but it's like tree lines suburbs

near forests you have this and you go to kentucky

and it's nothing but tobacco as far as the i

can see that you can't even smoke because you're

too young to smoke tobacco or tobacco tobacco

whatever you know but it's you know in those

two years from ninety three to ninety five i

think it was maybe dis so november or december

of ninety four where i actually decided to change

the channel on the radio and i'm like hey there's

other there's like i can listen to the music

i listen to at home oh okay there's pop stations

there's this there's that but i didn't know i

had no clue i thought in kentucky you had a choice

between country music and and bible music yeah

well you're not completely wrong about that but

they do have other stations too okay Alright,

we're gonna take a quick break and then we're

gonna come back to close it out and get the heck

out of here, unless you have anything else you'd

like to bring up. No, no, this has been a lot

of content to cover, to be honest. You and your

complaints. We'll be back after this, here on
