OK so Steve, Kevin, and I have argued about Scrappy since the release of ToonCast Episode 77
Throughout this debate my arguement has been that Scrappy is just awesome enough said… apparently I need to back that up instead of just saying my word is final on the subject. So reasons why Scrappy is awesome:
#1. He’s a puppy… puppies are awesome and cute!
#2. We covered in Toon 77 that the writers often attempted to want to write more comedic bits into the cartoons. This is why Fred, Daphne, and Velma were either not on the show or always disappeared during the “Let’s Split Up Gang” parts of Scooby Doo. With the absense of all if not just Fred and Velma Scrappy is a nice addition to any Scooby cartoon. Why you might be asking yourself? Am I talking nonsense? Well no….. Scrappy adds a positive vibe to Mystery Inc. He gets Shaggy and Scooby who are the biggest scardey cats on the face of the Earth to finally solve the mystery at the end.
#3 Scrappy and his PUPPY POWER!!! rules, because he isn’t afraid unlike Shaggy and Scooby. There have been only a few times in any Scooby cartoon where I have noticed Scoob or Shag be brave. Those are few and far between. Scrappy actually has brain cells that he uses. Most times he figures the mystery out before Shaggy or Scooby.
I’m not trying to say that I don’t like Shag and Scoob I do, but i don’t see why people hate Scrappy. He is after all Scooby’s nephew and adds bravery to the cartoon!
So in Closing THE OFFICIAL OPINION OF THE GCRN IS THAT SCRAPPY DOO RULES!!!!! I have spoken!!!! …. and backed it up with facts that can’t be argued with!!!!
