About this Episode

Dan, Chuck, and Greg design their ideal television network from scratch, curating Monday and Tuesday primetime lineups with shows they'd choose to air if they could build the perfect channel. They discuss their selection methods, reasoning behind picks like Seinfeld, The Office, 24, Batman: The Animated Series, The West Wing, Criminal Minds, The Simpsons, Futurama, Unsolved Mysteries, The Twilight Zone, and more—all while sharing stories from their week.

Hi, this is Kyle Higgins and you're listening

to the GeekCatch Radio Network. You are now on

the inside of what I like to call the circle

of trust. We are all connected in a great circle

of life. You know something Bert? What? I think

you and I are going in circles. It feels like

we're going in circles. The circle is now complete.

When I left you, I was but the third. Now I am

the last. Because it's a circle. Yeah, we heard

about the circle. Yeah, that's what I believe

it changed. Hi, this is Greg. This is Chuck.

And this is Dan, and we are Talking in Circles

brought to you by the UCAS radio network, the

podcast that is going to be creating the ultimate

television network. Yesterday we are having a

special episode because all of our episodes are

special where we're gonna be trying to create

the ultimate TV network and it's actually UHS

Exactly. That's what we're doing. We are just

gonna be reading the script of UHF. Hope you

like that movie But what we're actually gonna

be doing is kind of Similar to an episode we

did a few months ago where we tried to create

the ultimate Saturday morning lineup. Well, similar

to that, but we're going to try to create the

ultimate TV network, looking at programming from

Monday to Friday, trying to create the ultimate

TV channel. If you had to choose one channel,

hopefully it will be ours. And we'll get to that

more in the second segment. But before we get

to all of that, how's the week been going for

you guys? I've not been up too much at all Dan

cleaning my brother's house, so which is tons

of fun So but yeah, that's that's all I've really

been up to I've been doing that your Easter bunny

excitement did that go well Easter bunny excitement.

Oh the one where I had to take the pictures.

Yeah, that was kind of weird I went up it was

at the the Radisson Scranton the people organizing

the whole event brought their own bunny, which

was fine Yeah I kept calling the Easter Bunny,

Mr. Bunny, even though there was a woman inside.

I'm not sure if that was sexist or not, but the

bunny did have a bow tie and a suit coat on.

And I kept having to put candy up by Easter Bunny's

ass, so that felt kind of weird. But then there

were these, they had two other people in costumes.

It was two ladies. One was Alice and the other

one was dressed up in this very colorful dress

that I had no idea what was going on. Usually

back in the day before the fun drugs I'm on was

helping me out. I wouldn't have talked to them

at all. But at the end of the thing, I went up

to Alice and I was like, yeah, so I get Alice.

I get Alice. I understand Alice. I've seen Alice.

But who is your friend? That kind of sounded

like I was sitting on them, but I wasn't, even

though they were both very cute. But then I was

instantly put off by Alice going... Oh, this

is the Mad Hatter's daughter. I was going to

bring the Mad Hatter, but he was a bit mad. I'm

like, okay, there's no fucking kids around. We

do not have to go. You don't have to stay in

character for me. They are method actors, Greg.

They take that very seriously. They do not break

character for anything. And Mad Hatter's daughter

said absolutely friggin' nothing, so I was like...

Okay, well awesome, bye. It's kind of like working

with Christian Bale except there's no risk of

getting screamed at. You're doing the game wrong!

Oh, that's insane. They were playing some weird

games over there, so I don't know. What have

you been up to, Daniel? I have been up to, well,

again, I'm getting really too good at changing

flat tires. Again? Not me this time, actually.

I was actually at work and I get a message through

our message system. It's like, do you know how

to change flat tires? I'm like, do you listen

to our podcast cuz Talk about it all the time

on there but yeah, I had a people at work they

had a flat tire looks like at work so i went

out and changed it for them uh they had it looks

like they ran over a nail and their their tire

was like super flat it was cartoonishly flat

it was insane like how how like down it went

for this one nail so it it was so bad that like

the donut was like three times as heavy heavier

than the actual real tire. That's some heavy

air right there. Yeah. Besides that, not much

going on. I'm getting excited because by the

time this goes out, I should be in Miami. Hoping

it goes out on time. Nice. Are you trying out

for the Dolphins? Well, based on the salary cap,

I might be the only thing they can afford. Pretty

much. After paying for Sue. Looking forward to

that. Hope it goes well. But yeah, I don't know

Chuck see was anything you wanted to talk about

her yeah, I had a Sort of a busy week, but I

did have one kind of funny thing happen. I went

to Walmart over the weekend and I I had to stop

at a couple of stores, but I get to Walmart I

pull in the parking spot and I'm kind of sitting

there like making a little list of things that

I need to get and stuff and There's this guy

parked in front of me and he comes down with

his shopping cart full of crap and he puts all

of his stuff in the back of his car and the cart

return thing is literally right behind him and

he just proceeds to push the shopping cart into

the empty parking space next to him and so I've

been watching this guy And he's like he's coming

around his car and he's getting in this car.

So I'm I'm still sitting in my truck at this

point and I'm looking through the windshield

and I throw my hands up in the air and I look

at him with like a confused face and he like

he sees me and he kind of like squints like he's

like looking at me and I put I point with my

whole arm to like the cart return thing. I'm

like, it's right there. He was so confused. He's

like looking at me, turns around. He's like,

look around. He's like, what? And I just shook

my head. I'm like, yeah be freaking kidding me.

So he just rolls down the window goes you're

an asshole I wanted to like I really had to bite

my tongue because I wanted to like even if I

had to throw down with this guy I wanted to like

tell him but so but he just like apparently thought

I was talking to someone else so he just got

this car left and I'm like really freaking douchebag

like seriously, it's Literally take you nine

seconds to take that back. So anyway, he sets

it there and it's in this empty parking spot

and I'm kind of finishing up my list here and

it was a windy day, right? So, you know, I see

the cart kind of moving a little bit kind of

like Magneto moved a little chess piece in X

-Men Like it just moves a little bit and I'm

kind of like watching them like oh and you know

next to this Couple spaces down. There was like

this really nice like pickup truck like parked

there and So like I'm watching and I'm just finishing

up and then all of a sudden this big gust comes

and just takes the shopping cart and it starts

rolling like really fast and I'm like, oh shit

and I'm like it's head right for this like really

nice pickup truck and like I didn't even have

time to like think about it like I Jumped out

of my truck like flung my door open jumped out

sprinted like the 25 feet that it was and I'd

like left out and just grabbed onto it with my

left hand and I Caught the cart like one inch

before it hit this guy's truck. Oh, wow And like

so I pulled it back and I was like, holy shit.

That was awesome. I look around and no one saw

I'm like damn it. Are you kidding me? That was

the coolest thing I've ever done and no one saw

it like I freaking looked like spider -man But

I don't know I was just so then I was like man

that guy was an asshole like, you know he apparently

Just is one of those really lazy people that

doesn't return a car. But that is always annoying

to me It's like it's not it's they literally

created those things so you wouldn't have to

do like you can just go a few feet It's insane

Remember when they didn't have them you would

always have to bring it back every time and like,

okay people are gonna be super lazy So let's

just create these spaces to put in the the the

carts and people still don't put them back oh

yeah even when they're right next to the the

door going inside they will just place them kind

of by the door outside i because i have i have

actually pushed carts and that always pissed

me off i'm like you were seriously you took it

this far why don't you go to extra two feet it's

like no no it's good here oh wow But yeah, that

is that is kind of random, but Greg I did hear

Thanks to your great Twitter message that you

did read a book I'm actually really curious about

and hopefully I'll be reading on my vacation

and once actually being optioned for a film by

Steven Spielberg It should be coming out soon

and that's ready player one. So I was really

curious to hear I have no idea what the book

I never even heard of it until the movie so I'm

curious to hear how good it is and What is what's

it even about because I thought I was just a

video game or something like that. I was really

confused No, it's it's a book. It was really

good It's by Ernest Cline and I think the little

quote on the the front of the book by USA Today

kind of is is Fitting for it. Uh, it says Enchanting

Willy Wonka meets the matrix Really? That's huh?

Yes. It's a weird mix but it eerily describes

it pretty well. Are there Oompa Loompas? There

are no Oompa Loompas. So it's just creepy and

really slow motion? Does Keanu Reeves find out

about Kung Fu? No, no Keanu Reeves in this. I

think he was mentioned once though in the book.

There's a lot of pop culture references in the

book coming from Will Wheaton was mentioned in

it. So like famous nerd personalities, video

game stuff, board game stuff, like D &D, Dungeons

and Dragons. So you've got a whole bunch of geeky

references throughout. Some I didn't know they

were a little bit... older geeky references or

just stuff that I've never played in. There were

definitely some movie references in there that

were pretty great. But let me break down the

Willy Wonka meets the Matrix thing. It's Willy

Wonka because it's a guy that owns this business,

has a lot of money, and he's going to will it

to somebody. So he plays a Willy Wonka part like

that. And the Matrix is because the company that

he owns is this whole like online internet thing

like kind of world of warcraft kind of situation

um where people uh that's all people plug into

this internet this reality that everybody's plugged

into because uh the world has the real world

has actually gone to shit thanks to pollution

thing like that um and people live in uh like

trailer parks but the trailers are like piled

on top of each other. So these like giant skyscrapers.

But you have your main character who is who is

hunts down these Easter eggs that are part of

the game to win the will of the rich heir, the

Willy Wonka, so to speak. And he's out there

searching for these Easter eggs. And if you know

anything about video games or movies, they'll

have like this little hidden something somewhere.

And so he's in this artificial reality searching

for these Easter eggs and one step leads to another

kind of like national treasure, trying to find

that kind of stuff. So I found it to be very

exciting after I've got done rambling. And I

actually read it in two days and it is a pretty

small type. on halfway decent pages, and it's

about 400 pages. So that tells you how much I

enjoy that book. I ate it up pretty quick because

it was just very easily consumed. The writing

was really well done. entertaining. And it kind

of split a whole bunch of different genres of

this main character, action adventure, drama,

horror type elements in there every once in a

while, and a bit of a spy element to it. So it

hit all those it's it's doing a lot. But I think

it succeeds in what it's doing. If you're not

someone who's familiar with the references, do

you feel like someone like that would not enjoy

it as much? Do you think you need the understanding

of where it's coming from for it to work for

you? No, I don't think so because he explains

where the references are coming. He definitely

spells out these references for you, so I don't

think you would really be lost. It's a New York

Times bestseller, so a lot of people have read

it, so a lot of people have understood it if

it made it that far into the... the lexicon and

being optioned for a movie, which I think it's

going to be weird. I'm not sure how they're going

to do the movie because some parts he's the main

character is to get through a gate, quote unquote,

which they call them in the book. He actually

fills in as a character, Matthew Broderick's

character from War Games. Really? Yeah, so he's

he's essentially doing his part in war games

So I'm not sure how they're actually gonna do

that and how they'll make some of these references

that they do to some of these Pop culture icons.

I guess you would say I don't know how they would

do that Do you feel like it'd be better as like

an animated film with all of its references?

Well, it's not whether it's gonna be good movie

or animated wise it's how are they just going

to do it because of the rights of all these different

properties involved, if you know what I mean.

Kind of like how Marvel can't even use some of

their own characters because they don't have

the rights to them. Exactly. who who owns the

the rights to the to the movie war games that

they're going to be able to put war games into

this movie like the pentagon i think i don't

know i think well i think having spielberg helps

the spielberg has his hands in so many different

things that yes he does despite you know like

Star Wars Indiana Jones a lot of the stuff he's

have has some sort of Transformers in a way tiny

tunes and a mediacs and he does there is reference

to Indiana Jones There is a reference to Star

Wars Star Trek. There's reference to anime So

there's cool stuff like that and they are kind

of a transformer reference a little bit I believe

so. Yeah, it's it's hitting like all Cultural

cylinders at once here. It's I mean, it's possible

like, you know Look at something like the Lego

movie was able to get different lights and characters

from Star Wars DC characters and stuff like that.

So it's gonna be tough. They might have to change

some, you know, yeah, you know like with Marvel

had to do to like replace certain characters

that they didn't have rights to and how the Inhumans

are becoming like the X -Men it seems like the

mutant so we might have some of that where maybe

it's not war games, but uh Weird science or something.

I don't know. They do make weird science reference

It's like a drink every time they make a reference

and you'll be plastered. You will be seriously

demolished. You need like an eyedropper to supply

your alcohol. Does it ever get too much? Like

where you feel like, oh, it's just too much or

does it just feel like it gives the book more

personality? I think it gives it more personality.

I don't really know what to say to back that

up, but I just think it gives it more personality.

That sounds legitimate. Okay, yeah. I did watch

one thing I wanted to talk about and I don't

know if you guys heard about this because it

did It did get some news and it's the alex givney

documentary documentary that was on hpo A few

a few days. Well about a week ago by the time

this comes out and it's called going clear in

about Scientology Um, I think I heard of it today,

but I have not seen it or watched it Okay. Well,

it's it's a this huge expose about the religion

or Church of Scientology and What it is where

it comes from and then kind of gets into its

dirty little secrets a little bit and I thought

it was quite Fascinating like the first half

of it is really just this depiction of where

did it come from because I remember hearing about

it like I think the first time I heard about

it was like with reference to Tom Cruise and

like I had no idea just kind of went through

like where it came from Elron Hubbard and that

dude is freaky. Like, yeah, he he is a strange

man in a lot of ways. But it's it's interesting

in that aspect. And I think the first half of

it, you can kind of see like, all right, I kind

of can understand where people would go with

this religion, because it's like, it's very like

holistic in some ways and very of the mind. And

it's strange, you know, what have you, people

believe whatever, you know, who cares at the

end of the day. But then the second half, it

gets into just like the dirty little secrets

of Scientology as they would say or just some

of the things that they did and especially the

one of the things that's kind of crazy is just

how it became a religion in the first place and

and what they did was to avoid taxes basically

because LR and Hubbard even mentioned that the

reason he created Scientology was because that's

where the money is is getting in religion So

he created to try to create this religion and

you know get tax exemption and they weren't getting

it for a very long time They had all these laws

lawsuits or you know IRS was investigating them

and all this stuff and they're about to go bankrupt

so what they did they filed like hundreds and

hundreds of individual lawsuits against the IRS

against members of the IRS and it was just insane

like this full -on like intense battle with the

IRS and it got to the point where they're like

you know what if you make us a religion all these

lawsuits will go away So that's exactly what

happened. And it's kind of gets into that and

how now all the books that L. Ron Hubbard has

written, and he's written over a thousand books,

he actually holds the Guinness Book of World

Records for the most books written. And he is

paying no royalties on them and they're considered

religious text and all this other stuff. Really?

Yeah. I didn't know it went that far. I knew

they got religious taxes exempt. Yeah, even like

his books are considered religious. you know

books or literature and you know that gets into

like the celebrity aspect of it was John Travolta

and Tom Cruise and there's this insane thing

with Tom Cruise about like his relationship with

Nicole Kidman and how at one point like they

were tapping Nicole Kidman's phone because of

he was scared of what she was saying and I I

usually kind of defend Tom Cruise I think he

gets a bad rap but in this it's it's kind of

hard some of the stuff you see him doing he does

seem very much like a crazy person and they have

all this foot too of of like these meanings of

Scientology and they have like this huge this

stage is gigantic I don't know if they were having

some sort of special or something like that but

it is insane it's looks like this gigantic throne

with this huge it's it's it's crazy but I mean

it was good I kept thinking about the South Park

episode of Scientology Kind of more maybe more

effective over, you know, at least more at least

more humorous But it's interesting and certainly

it does give you a lot of information I think

you should probably even get get into it deeper

and talk about even more because it's really

just scratch the surface a lot of the the meat

of the documentary are these interviews with

people who were in it at one time but left for

different reasons and once you get it into the

reasons They left you just realize how kind of

like how dangerous in a lot of ways it was and

like the abuses that went on the like child labor

or like slave labor in some ways or people are

getting like 30 cents an hour and You know not

getting paid, but it's it's insane some of the

stuff They're able to get away with and kind

of still do so I would definitely advise, you

know vice checking it out. Alex Gibney's got

a lot of great documentaries. He's done a lot

of the 30 for 30s on ESPN. I think he did Catching

Hell and a few others. He's a really good documentarian.

So it's on ESPN now. They're playing it every

so often. So, you know, if you ever want to know

more about Scientology or why Tom Cruise and

John Trilter seem so weird, you have your answer.

But that's all I got. So we're gonna take a quick

break and when we come back we'll be getting

into the nitty gritty as we try to create the

ultimate TV network. All TV shows are there for

us to choose and the question only is which one

are we gonna pick? So we'll see you in a bit.

I'm gonna pick my nose. Hey guys, this is JD

from the In Session Film Podcast. Every week

on our show, you can join my co -host Brendan

and I as we review the latest films that's out

in theaters. It also inspires us to discuss a

top three list of some sort, and we have a lot

of other fun movie discussions as well. It's

always a blast. And we also have a show on Fridays

called our Extra Film Podcast. This is a show

that gives us the space to talk about the latest

Indies and art films and other that we normally

just don't get to talk about on our main show.

You can find our podcast on iTunes, Stitcher

Radio, SoundCloud, TuneIn Radio, Player FM, and

more. In fact, you can just see everything about

us, including our social medias at InSessionFilm

.com. So join us every week. We'd absolutely

love to have you. Alrighty, and welcome back.

So today we are going to be creating the ultimate

TV network. If you haven't listened to our ultimate

Saturday morning lineup, Episode go back and

listen to that but the basically premise here

is that Chuck Greg and I are gonna be trying

to create a TV schedule But similar to our drafts

is that we are only able to choose a show once

so once I pick a show Greg and Chuck can't choose

it or vice versa and We can choose any show that

was on during primetime from 8 a .m.. To 11 p

.m that appeared at any time from beginning of

television to today, no parameters whatsoever.

So it could be on HBO, it could be on CBS, it's

all open in this little game that we're playing.

We'll start Monday at 8 p .m. and then kind of

go through each round, half hour by half hour.

Then at 10 o 'clock, we'll actually be choosing

just our show since that's 10 technically when

most our shows began then at for the 11 o 'clock

slot We're actually going to do that once we're

going to do that for the first hour For the first

round because in that round we'll be choosing

we're going to be choosing whatever late night

show will be on our network so we can choose

any show during that period that is Typically

airing around 11 o 'clock. So things have been

like from Johnny Carson to Jerry Leno to Saturday

Night Live to what have you anything? That's

usually reserved for late -night programming.

I mean, I guess if you really want to throw mad

TV in there could feel free Go crazy with it.

But uh Anything you guys wanted to go over before

we get this show started Greg probably broke

a bunch of these rules That's fine. The rules

are meant to be broken What we'll see how it

goes as we go now just I guess just to be a little

extra clear to this this more of like Our favorite

shows or like the best possible Lineups for rating

wise which way like I guess what was the way

I would see it is creating a network that you'd

want to watch so if you're gonna choose a show

that you don't like what is popular I don't I

don't know if that's really gonna work. You know,

I think it's like I'm thinking like we would

have to watch this network. So I'm not gonna

put on Gilmore girls, even though people What's

wrong with Gilmore girl, okay I've never watched

it. I'm just throwing that out there. So yeah,

the idea is I mean people can certainly vote

on which one they think is best But I'm thinking

like this is like our our ultimate network It's

just like with our Saturday morning lineup where

these were those were shows that we really liked

or at least had some opinion towards I don't

think there's a show on my list that I'm thinking

about choosing that I'm not a fan of myself so

but you know go with it with how you feel I guess

any other questions before we get this going

will I die if I get an answer wrong ah we'll

find out that's that's that's that's it's like

uh you know money python in search of from the

harley grail we'll see what happens if you get

one of them wrong I guess I'll start this off.

So for mine, I did have a theme for each day.

I did try to choose shows that kind of fit that

theme just because there's so much to choose

from. It lets me kind of narrow it down and figure

things out a little bit. And the bad thing is

if people start choosing those shows, it might

screw things up. So don't do that, but that's

the risk I'm going to run. I don't know about

you guys. I mean, people notoriously pick Monday

as the worst day of the week. The weekend's over.

You just kind of want to get through it. No one

looks forward to Mondays. So what's the best

medicine? Laughter. Laughter can help make Mondays

better. So my key for my Monday lineup is picking

shows that are very funny and that I can watch

and laugh at at any time. The first show that

I'm gonna pick which is I hope I'm not stealing

anyone's but I might one of the most notorious

colonies of all time One that's a pioneer one

that you know, definitely changed the way comedy

was on on TV especially in the 90s and that's

Seinfeld I I gotta admit I was not the I was

on a Seinfeld fan when I came out maybe too young

but in reruns I've kind of grown become one and

You know lovely Larry David style and you gotta

you know, how can you not love Seinfeld the show

about nothing? So because I don't like Jerry

Seinfeld What was that? I don't like Jerry Seinfeld

Really? What do you like about him? I just find

him annoying What's the deal with airline food?

Well that voice could drive you play it crazy,

at least he's not Rima mono it could be no But

yeah, so my shit my first show was gonna be Seinfeld,

you know, it's a Showing joy and I I guess it

is for a certain type of sense of humor but iconic

characters iconic episodes So figure I'll figure

I'll start off strong very nice It's also one

of my favorites. I enjoy watching a lot of reruns

of Seinfeld. Gotta love the Cayman. So next up,

Chuck, you have to choose. So this would be the

show that's on at Monday at 8 p .m. What show

are you going with? Well, I sort of I think we

were sort of on the same page with our methods

because I sort of picked themed nights as well.

It just kind of struck me as a good way to do

it. I don't know if it's cheesy or not, but it

made sense to me And I'm sorry if anyone has

to work the night that their preferred shows

are on but that's not my problem. Okay Like the

rest of America just record it So Monday is sort

of my I guess I would say Sort of a cop drama

sort of thing or just sort of a drama night in

general and I know we talked about not really

picking shows that we didn't like but it just

happens the first show I'm picking is a show

I've never actually watched but Hey, but it I

have seen I guess a little bit of it and I I

want to watch a lot more of it let's put it that

way and I think it fits really nicely into what

I'm doing here, but This is actually an hour

-long show And I think it's one of Dan's favorite

shows and that is 24 Nice nice. Yeah All right.

Well gotta do some adjustment here on my shows,

but Good good good choice good choice. Yeah,

so we should mention for we can pick our shows

at any time So what this means is then afraid

we'll get to it when we get to it But basically

at 830 Chuck's already kind of picked his his

his show already, but yeah 24 definitely a good

time Do like that show a lot jack bars an iconic

character. Yeah, and yeah good good pick Greg

have you ever watched 24? No So far you guys

are missing out on my viewership We're not getting

Greg we're not getting Greg, but wow so 24 starting

off strong with 24 I got a I meant I I did not

assume that would be picked so I do have to This

was my this was my plan the whole time was to

wait these several weeks just to get back at

you Man, I can only imagine what's next All right,

Greg moving on to you next Bringing up the rear

what what show is going to be starting on your

money night lineup? You know, I'm bringing up

the rear. I I also went Went with themes and

my theme is kind of an animated theme for your

Monday night Getting the kids in there So I'm

gonna start off with half an hour show that everybody

loves Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the animated

series Interesting going with the cartoons. Yep

Hey, we're all going different ways on this which

is that's interesting. That's one of the greatest

of all time, too I'm guessing you're going with

the classic 80s again. You're gonna split it

up like each week. It'll be a different one Are

you just going with the the best one which was

the one from the 80s? 90s 80s 90s 80s Because

that's the one I grew up with I guess if we run

out of those we could we get different Teenage

Mutant Ninja Turtles in there Yeah, definitely

different methods. That's really cool to see

so people who have you know There's no complaints

that every networks are having the same thing

on because you got a car to choose from you got

an action show to choose from You got a great

comedy to choose from at least I think you're

in comedy. All right, so we're bringing it back

over to 830 now, so At 8 o 'clock I hit Seinfeld.

So what's after Seinfeld? I gotta think of a

really strong comedy that could hold its own

against against Seinfeld and for me One of my

favorite comedies of all time We did our Top

5 TV Shows that was on there. It's got a personal

connection with all of us as it takes place in

Scranton. And that of course is The Office. Michael

Scott, Dwight Schrute, some great characters.

I love The Office. If you find Seinfeld funny,

you're probably going to find The Office funny.

So that's where I'm going. Seven seasons to choose

from. A lot of great content. Nothing to love

not nothing not to love that's that's a good

point in and I don't think I've ever thought

of it like that But it is sort of like Seinfeld

in a way because it's pretty much about nothing

It's just like common everyday stuff that like

happens. Yeah Yeah, I mean it's a little bit

more awkward comedy than I would say Seinfeld

is but I think you they're in the same ballpark

I would say so yeah, definitely. I like already

so For chuck would usually go next but since

he picked 24 and 24 is an hour show because that'd

be weird to like do it half an hour 24 an episode

I guess you could but all right, you just call

it 12 Or 60 there was or uh, it's cohen and brian

did a skit within a second of a 60 minute episode

Which was kind of funny. All right, so moving

so skip over chuck and going over to greg Greg,

you started with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,

so you're really like setting your own rules

here. That's right. Going rogue. So what is going

to be going on at 8 .30? 8 .30, we're tuning

it up again. But this time with an even more

actiony, darker show with Batman, the animated

series. Damn. You guys want to watch my network,

don't you? Really do Your network is basically

what Cartoon Network should have been in the

entire time. It never was Pretty very nice. Yeah

Batman the Ant -Man series man. That's such a

great show no doubt about it. I was just watching

the flash with the the trickster episode with

Mark Hamill and I could think of is now I won't

watch Batman because Certainly can see the influences

the trickster had on the Joker character. Oh,

by the way, Greg. I know we talked about the

First volume of the Batman animated series on

DVD at Walmart for like $15 Yeah, I went back

to look for that and it's like nowhere to be

found. Oh Yeah, so doesn't really surprise me

though. I think we it was like that for a couple

of weeks though and because like I went one time

then I went a couple weeks later it was there

and Then the what like I was there this last

time and I was gonna get one For whatever reason,

I remembered this time and I was like, oh shit,

it's gone. Oh, that sucks. Yeah, very popular

show. I'm not surprised that it's gone. Yeah.

Was it the complete series or just just the first?

It was the first season on DVD, but still, those

are usually like 40 bucks other places. And it

was like on sale for like 15. But so now we're

moving into the nine o 'clock hour. So for I

had Seinfeld, I had the office. Gotta try to

keep the comedy going and this show is not maybe

as popular at least waiting drive wise It's a

show that should have been canceled so many times,

but it keeps on living, but it's a huge show

in the geek community So it's just the show that

won't die even if it's on Yahoo now still living

still live in large and that is community I have

you guys watch community at all. I don't know

but I love Alison Bray We can watch all of her

on community No, I have not and I have no clue

who that person that greg just mentioned is look

her up chuck Look her up. Oh, yeah I will say

like the first season or so of community. Well,

it's okay It gets really strong the last episode

but then it really kind of finds its footing

like second and so if you're like fan of film

or fan of movies like there's so many great like

uh Themed episodes that they do like one that's

all great. They know hugely influenced by Apollo

13 There's a great like GI Joe influence. There's

so many things like that that show does that

I can't believe a network show actually got away

with and if you're at all consider yourself a

geek There's so much to take out take off from

community. I hope Alison Brie takes off Yeah,

well there you go Walk to look at us. They say

Joe McHale is a pretty good looker himself. I'm

not gonna lie, but uh Well, you can have him

and I'll take Alison Brie. How about that? And

I'll be fine But yeah, so that's my show at nine

o 'clock so then We're moving back over to Chuck.

Chuck, finally 24 is over. Hey, I love 24, but

that show takes up an hour and it's an action

packed hour. So how are you going to follow that

up? Because I mean, it's kind of tough. You got

Jack Bauer. Who can follow up Jack Bauer? I mean,

that's a feat. So I'm curious what show you're

having next. Well, I think I guess Persian or

group that can... Go toe toe with Jack Bauer

is a group of geniuses and with their leader

having an IQ of 197 and that would of course

be the new Drama action series called scorpion

Wow pulling out the new stuff. Yeah fresh and

new I love this show like it's really really

cool. I know I'm not sure if you guys have seen

it at all, but I know I know TFG1 Mike and GeekCast

as a big fan of it as well. It really is a great

show. The concept in the beginning I thought

sounded kind of corny and I'm like, there's no

way the show is going to work. But I'm surprised

how cohesive it is, how that group gets on TV

and how they interact and everything. It's actually

really impressive and it's quite entertaining.

And it also has the T -1000 Terminator from Terminator

2, so. Nice, nice. Got that guy in there. Any

time travel going on at all there? No, no time

travel, but there's a lot of really cool stuff.

They put them in sort of these really difficult

situations. And I remember this group, I think

there's like five people or whatever, but everyone's

pretty much a genius in different like fields,

like in different areas. You know, there's someone

that's like insanely good at mechanical things

that can build things and figure things out.

There's someone that's like a human calculator

and stuff like that. There's a guy that's like

a psychologist and behavioral analysis expert

and stuff like that. But it's just really cool

how they like sort of mold these powers together

and these traits for all these people and get

them out of these difficult situations. I just

find it really interesting. And you know what's

really cool is when you have those networks that

have like crossover episodes I can imagine the

24 scorpion crossover that because I would be

awesome. That would be really cool Very nice.

All right, Greg, man, I'm you're picking up some

Some really huge nostalgia here so far with the

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Batman the

Animated series. So Where are you going next?

It's just getting nostalgia or Dan x -men the

animated series is my next choice keep keep going

i don't know the rest of it very nice x -men

yeah man that show is so responsible for me being

a geek in the first place so man i think i might

actually have to watch a lot of drake craig's

channel right here That's right. Not gonna lie

Good pick good pick All right moving on to me

to 9 30. This is gonna be my last comedy well,

not completely, but at least for a little bit.

And Chuck, you mentioned with 24 that was a show

that you wanted to watch, but never really got

a chance to. This is the same thing for this

one for me. Comedy I've heard so much about,

and similar to Community, it's one that maybe

didn't get the ratings it deserved, but was critically

acclaimed and actually came back for a short

period because Netflix revived it. Again, another

Netflix show? It was, well, it wasn't a Netflix

show, but it... Netflix brought it back for a

season that's arrested development it got you

know I think I got a few seasons on Fox but it

got canceled because the ratings were never good

but then while later Netflix kind of revived

it for a little bit for it for like a new series

long after it you know it came and gone and it's

it had a lot of famous people Jason Bateman kind

of was his coming back party you had Michael

Cera not Jesse Eisenberg which I make that confusion

sometimes so The king of running jokes. I have

seen a few of the first episodes when I heard

Netflix was coming back and I had Hulu. I watched

a few episodes and I really liked it a lot, but

I forget what happened, but I stopped watching

it. So I really loved the opportunity to see

it again. And I think... Lot of these comedies

that I've chosen that their personality kind

of fits together pretty well So I think if you

find one of them funny, you'd probably find them

all So thinking of classic like, you know must

see TV back in the day was like that too So but

yeah rest of development will be my last comedy

at least for a little bit All righty moving on

over to Chuck. So Chuck you have 24 And then

you have the new school scorpion Where you going

next? Oh No, sorry. Well, actually you're gonna

have to skip me because scorpions also an hour

show So so similar to Chuck last time since he

has scorpion which is a hour -long show his nine

and nine thirty shows are already every chosen

I mean, you know two for the two for the price

of one there. So we're moving on over to Greg

I Think I have an idea of where this might be

going, but maybe you'll surprise me Where you

going next for your 9 30 show 9 30 we are going

to a big blue superhero that everybody's loved

and was kind of short -lived uh when they when

he was on tv, uh, and that is the tick Nice,

you could even like throw in the live action

one for hell. Yeah Awesome. Oh man. I love the

tick. I don't chuckle your fan of tick Yeah,

I was a I was a fan of the tick. Definitely.

Uh, I didn't watch a whole lot of it, but I did

get to Catch it at some point. Um, didn't he

have like a sidekick? What was the sidekick?

Yes Arthur, yeah That's right. Yeah, that was

that was a pretty cool show. I enjoyed that Man,

greg you are you're really pulling out all the

oh, man Thank you too, we might have to use some

trades at the end of the night i'm not gonna

lie all righty, so We only got eight to ten o

'clock chosen. So my ten o 'clock show this is

where i'm gonna i'm gonna throw out an hour show

here, too and I'm thinking I want something that's

comedic, but there's not a lot of great hour

comedies. It's comedies best in 30 minutes So

you need something that's really dramatic too,

but I wanted to show that I've laughed that a

lot but also is not not just funny and there's

no better writer out there than Aaron Sorkin

that can bring the funny and can bring the serious

and His best show in my opinion is my all -time

favorite show. So I have to choose it. I can't

I cannot not choose it and that of course is

the West Wing. I know you guys haven't watched

it because I remember when we talked about our

favorite shows I talked about that one and you

guys haven't seen it yet I don't know I came

on the show late my wife was a big fan and she

introduced it to me and I just find the characters

I love the characters I've watched it so so much

it's on Netflix now and every so often I'll go

through a binge of it for a few hours I can watch

it at any time like I said it's really funny

but it's also really good one of my all -time

favorite TV shows or one of my all -time favorite

Moments of TV ever is in this show and I can

see that for a lot It's it does lose some luster

when Aaron Torkin leaves after like season 5

but still love it a lot even if you're not in

the politics I think you can still enjoy it because

it's really just more about the characters and

it's more the idyllic version of What politics

could be? Well, how's the car just like the the

polar opposite of that? So that's why I went

with with the West Wing because it's it's funny,

but it's not just funny. So interesting All right,

great. All right Chuck moving on to you. We have

24 we have scorpion and now now now where you're

going Now I am going to go with another sort

of cop drama even though it's It's actually probably

one of my top ten favorite shows of all time

Possibly if if you exclude the animated shows

This is probably like ten of those But that is

Criminal Minds. Oh wow, okay. Yeah, I've always

loved that show. I love the... I guess it's sort

of a similar theme from Scorpion carrying on.

It's sort of a team dynamic. These are, I believe

it's like FBI agents that specialize in serial

killer cases whenever they get a call to... go

to a certain area in the country they have to

fly out there they're sort of like the specialists

that they bring in there's i believe i want to

say there's like seven people on the team something

like that but it's sort of the same deal like

each one has their area of expertise and stuff

like uh you know there's a couple of guys really

good at like uh behavioral analysis like serial

killers and things like that they have like uh

this girl that's back at their headquarters that's

like sort of the computer geek like that It's

sort of the Chloe from Smallville. You know,

she's really good on the computer. She looks

things in their database and, you know, whenever

they need something. Instead of like Chloe, it's

not Chloe. There's also this character, Reed,

who is super intelligent and he has like an iodetic

memory. He can, which is sort of like, you know,

photographic and also like, you know, everything

he reads. You see easy like remembers and the

guys just like super smart. So it's really cool

show I've always liked that show not sure how

many seasons of that there are but there are

quite a few So yeah, it's been on forever. Yeah,

my wife Carol's a huge fan of that too So she

watches it a great deal and I watched a few episodes

here there I tend to I watched mostly in rerun,

but yeah, I I definitely see the team. I remember

one time you talked about it and you talked about

like it's almost like A superhero show in some

ways and with his team dynamic and I definitely

yeah could agree with that. So All right, greg

moving on to you. You have a lot of animated

shows. So you continuing with that theme? Are

you? Yes, it's the animated monday's uh tune

monday's and i'm going to Meet the Simpsons at

the longest running show in television history.

It's taken that title from Gunsmoke. So I got

to go with The Simpsons. I think you're wrong

there, Greg. The longest running show in TV history

is Agents of S .H .I .E .L .D., because it freaking

takes forever. Apparently slow this season. Greg

we actually get to go right back to you because

I already chose my 1030 and so did Greg and so

did Chuck. So you actually get a double dip here.

So what's your next choice? In the same vein

with the Simpsons, I'm going with Futurama. Nice.

I'm going to cancel it after a couple seasons

and then I'm going to cancel it again and then

bring it back. Nice, nice. Good choice. Thank

you. Alrighty, so this is where the fun begins

with our late night TV shows again This is gonna

run for the entire week because it's weird like

that's how late night TV works So I'm gonna I'm

gonna cheat here. I'm not gonna lie and my late

night and programming or two are kind of it's

cheap because it's two shows but they are so

closely tied to one another and they make up

an hour and I couldn't really think of anything

else to do and I felt like this was the best

way to go and that is I'm gonna go with The Daily

Show and The Colbert Report back -to -back technically

two separate shows but they're so you know they're

basically the extension of one another and like

both the characters And yeah, so that's kind

of my mindset of it. Technically two shows, but

really one. At least I'm making, I made the rule.

I'm going to go with it. Hopefully. Well, we're

going to do some cheating later, I think. So

we'll allow it, I think. Right, Chuck? Yeah,

sure. No problem. So that's my 11 o 'clock show,

The Daily Show slash The Colbert Report. So Chuck,

what are you choosing for your late night programming?

Geraldo. Your station is gonna be the best when

it comes to mustaches So wrong, but um, actually

I'm gonna go with I don't I'm not sure if this

counts I guess it does it's a late show, but

um It's a one that's currently on TV. It's one

of my one of my favorite hosts I think the guy

is hilarious He's been on SNL and I think I just

connect more with his Comedy and the things that

he talks about more so than a lot of the other

late night hosts But and that is the tonight

show starring Jimmy Fallon Sorry Greg, that's

all right, that's that's an easy one to Find

a replacement The replacements. I thought about

that one too. He does seem like he very much

speaks to our generation with a lot of different

things he does. Yeah. Very cool. Plus, I like

the late night hashtag things that he does. It

really gets the audience involved and stuff in

the show. It's pretty cool. All righty, Greg

moving on to you now that Chuck's stolen your

shit Yeah, I know right, but I have a good backup

I think he's also one of my favorite late -night

hosts and I'm gonna go with Conan O 'Brien Good

choice. Thank you. Yeah, he's great that sucked

when he got kicked off Because of Leno and everything

that kind of was a big kick to the balls But

thank goodness TBS came through and I love watching

his clueless gamers. Those things are freaking

hilarious He's he has a bunch of neat bits like

that and where he's going around New York City

delivering Chinese food and stuff all of his

stuff that's on YouTube is really great Cool.

Yeah, and do you ever see his documentary Conan

O 'Brien Can't Stop? Yes, I have and that was

really good as well. Yeah, it's interesting really

gets into like the psyche of Conan O 'Brien.

Yeah, he's really wacky behind the scenes too,

which is kind of fun. Yeah. Alright, so our money

programming is now completed. So now we're moving

on Tuesday for today. So today we're doing Monday

and Tuesday next week We're finishing it up So

kind of finish strong here and I've long held

this theory that Tuesday is by far the worst

day of the week You said that about Monday then

no Monday people say Monday is the worst day

of the week Monday money stinks No one loves

Mondays are awful. But the thing with the Monday

you can prepare for a Monday, right? I mean like

you can get ready so you can have that preparation

you can at least you're kind of of close to the

weekend. Sometimes you get Mondays off, which

are awesome. Tuesdays, you never get them off.

Tuesday, the weekend's really far away. Monday

just happened. It's just, you know, it's the

worst. Nothing good about a Tuesday. Wednesday,

at least you're halfway there. Thursday, Friday's

the next day. There's nothing good about a Tuesday.

It's a very scary, scary day. So because it's

such a scary day, my theme for Tuesday are shows

that scare or shows that thrill. Get the blood

pressure up. And I'm going with a classic. We

haven't really gotten to old shows yet. This

is this is by far the oldest show we've talked

about so far and What's unique about this show

is that it was actually one of those shows from

back in the day of that each week It would be

something different. Damn it. Don't take mine.

Oh, no, am I gonna do it? I'm not sure It's really

old. It's from you know from and that okay. I

did not expect this to be yours And that's Alfred

Hitchcock presents. That was the exact one I

have. Are you serious? Yes. That is insane. Damn

it, Dan. Wow. I thought like, oh, this no one's

going to pick this one. No, I love Alfred Hitchcock.

Oh, I know. Son of a bitch, Dan. Finally, I'm

not the one stealing one tonight. I am. I did

not expect that. I. Wow. That can't. I thought

it'd be safe. I'm like, oh, I'm going to pick

this one because I really like this show and

no one's going to go this route. But I was wrong.

I was wrong. Let's just move on. I think this

makes it more fun though, right? Until it happens

to you. I'm sure you'll get some sweet revenge

because there's other shows that are kind of

like it Which if you you could kind of choose

and then we'll see I think the next one the one

I had after Alfred Hitchcock is probably what

you're talking about We'll see. We'll see All

right. So Chuck moving on to you. You had like

your action -packed crime Monday What are you

going with on Tuesday? Tuesday, I'm going to

go with a more eerie, creepy theme. Everybody's

doing eerie and creepy on Tuesdays. I know. It's

eerie, creepy Tuesday. It's ECT, et cetera. You

know, like everyone calls it. It's just the thing,

you know. Yeah, you know, it's just going to

be like Throwback Thursday. It's going to be

eerie, creepy Tuesday. But I guess like You know

just some just some shows that are sort of loosely

centered around that theme and my first one For

my primetime eight o 'clock show. I'm also gonna

do an hour show for Tuesday But I think it's

worth it because this is one of my favorite shows

of all time and that is Jericho Good I specifically

didn't pick that one because I'm like Chuck's

gonna pick that one. Yes, it's got you know,

it's like a sort of a post -apocalyptic feel

sort of thing You know it's like a post -nuclear

war type of thing and just how this little community

in Kansas sort of makes do with what they have

and gets through this difficult time as a town

and they have to fight off like invaders from

other towns and stuff. It's actually a really

cool show and I think it was really underrated

and didn't get the attention it deserved. Very

cool. Yeah, and thanks to one of our homework

episodes. I actually got the chance to watch

that and I do agree It's quite good. It's definitely

a good if good a post -apocalyptic show and all

the mystery of it, too So still need to finish

it, but I've enjoyed the first season Already

Greg I'm a little worried. I'm a little worried.

I think we're going we're going back and forth

with this one I think we might be choosing from

the same pool here. So where are you going with

for your first show? I guess I got to go with

the Munsters I guess because I don't know what

else kind of fits in with my schema Is the Munsters

half an hour? I don't remember Okay, good I'm

going with the Munsters to stick with my scary

theme even though they're not that scary It's

still good enough for little kids to watch. So

so we're good. We're good All right, so I'm going

with another similar to from from my 830 don't

take it Don't take it the by the way, sometimes

it was half an hour. Sometimes it was an hour

show For the monsters for offered Hitchcock Oh,

yeah, I checked IMDb and it's at 30 minutes.

So yes the when they first started it was half

an hour then they moved to an hour or vice versa

I Don't know if this is what you're thinking.

So I I don't know better if I can be I'm screwed

then Is it is it another like serial show like

that? Yes Just say it then just say it just pull

the band -aid off I'm not gonna hold on! Just

tell us what the show is, Dan! Tell us what it

is! The show is Tales from the Crypt? No, I do

not have that one! All that, I'm like, ugh, I

don't know if this is it, so... It was fun and

mad that he didn't take something on. He's like,

no, I do not have that one! He's like a gentle

and jokey now, like you're high in that anger.

I am! I'm turning to the dark side guys Yes,

no that I did not have that one. Thank you for

not choosing my I am very happy right now. Let

the heat flow through you. I am Yes, I'm going

with I'm going with tales from the crypt again

another half an hour show that would get into

The serial shows that we get into different stories

each week, of course, you know based upon the

films But a lot of good stuff there keeping with

the creepy crawly Tuesday that we're all going

with we guess we hang out too much monday was

a lot different tuesday's a lot you know kind

of the same so all right greg now that i didn't

choose your show i'm now i'm really curious what

show i didn't choose that you thought i was going

to um actually i i was going with it as an hour

show so um yeah that was filling out the whole

hour um but for my second one i will be going

with The adams family who I loved their movies.

So I definitely love their tv show even though

I haven't really watched any of it. Um But i'm

gonna go with the adams family because they're

creepy and they're kooky. So it's got to be on

the ect And they're all together spooky. So For

my for my next show don't you pick mine? Don't

you pick mine? I think it's hilarious by the

way that we all have the same theme on tuesday

So what does that happen? How does that happen?

We have been spending way too much time together

the last 10 years Show for my 9 o 'clock show

I'm going with an hour show No shorts scared

me more as a kid than this show in the 90s Maybe

because it was true, but it was just something

about it would just really Freaked me out as

a kid. Maybe it was the music. Of course, you

had that iconic narrator and that show based

upon true events Two events that were not solvable

and that of course is unsolved mystery. Oh nice

So that show just I don't know something about

it just freaks me. It freaked me out as a kid.

I know that was a great show Who was I can't

think of the guy who was the robert stack robert

stack from airplane voice His voice is something

about it just it came on it just felt really

really creepy and I don't know just No, it was

insane. So I go home with all I don't know how

well it holds up from the 90s I'm pretty sure

it's gonna be super cheesy, but you know for

kids. I'm sure it'll be great All right chalk

moving over to you you started with Jericho and

where you going next who next let's see We're

at the nine o 'clock slot, right? I'm gonna go

with a little bit near a show from the 2000s

half hour show but uh Still very spooky feel

to it And that is Ghost Hunters. I don't know

if you guys have seen any of that show. Yeah,

I think of it more as a comedy. Yeah, I mean,

there were some episodes that were pretty crazy,

but I did lose a bit of respect for them when

they sort of admitted that they faked some stuff.

But I still think the show has a great eerie

feel to it and definitely fits into my theme.

So I still picked it Very nice. Very nice Greg

move it on to you next. I think my 10 o 'clock

show is gonna be chosen chosen by you here. Good

We'll find out it's uh We'll see we'll see I

wanted to unsolve mysteries because I just it's

a personal, you know I had a personal place in

my heart of The fear because it gave me really

bad dreams, but uh what what show are you starting

with at nine o 'clock? In a time between time

and space mother There is twilight zone Oh, man

Is that a two -fer yeah? Screwed us both over

at once there man See, I think even like think

Chuck watched the Twilight Zone. Oh, yeah. I

love the Twilight Zone. Hey, I love it, too I

was actually gonna pick it last pick because

I was afraid someone else would And I should

have because then I would have freaking beat

both you guys instead of beating me. Oh Man,

yeah, I was going with that. I gotta do some

adjustments here, but man Greg going for two

for yeah, obviously We all love the Twilight

Zone. How could you not one of the best TV shows

of all time? Yeah, I love that the recipe book.

Now that I said all that, I'm forgetting it.

How to Serve Man. Yeah, and a great parody from

the Simpsons on one of the Treehouse of Horrors

episodes. All righty, so Chuck, actually we're

going over to you because Greg and I are fulled

up for the 9 o 'clock hour, but you still have

an half an hour to fill because Ghost Wonders

is only a 30 -minute show, so what are you going

to put on at 9 .30? Okay for my 930 I guess I

guess it would be more towards a little younger

audience, but not necessarily because there's

a There's so many people that would be nostalgic

for this and kind of grew up with this, but you

want to take a guess Goosebumps. Yes. Yeah Yeah,

I'm tossing goosebumps right in there at 930

nice. I think You know, it's a little bit a little

bit Juvenile like childish, but not not all of

them. I mean some of them were pretty good And

a lot of us grew up with reading those books

and everything. So I think it's a good trip down

memory lane there. Yes Alrighty good good choice

good replacement. I would say definitely like

yeah, you know, I certainly influenced by Twilight

Zone in a lot of ways So now so much to you Chuck.

I my ten o 'clock I was thinking Twilight Zone

kind of going with my theme And this is kind

of, I gotta say, it doesn't fit as strongly as

Twilight Zone did. I'll have to admit that. So

that for those doing grading, draft grades, if

you want to call this a draft, might stick out

like a sore thumb, but definitely is creepy.

Definitely has its scary moments. The biggest

show on TV right now. And I might be taking this

from you guys. I don't know. Or at least maybe

from Chuck. Son of a bitch. Oh no. Am I taking

it? Yeah, I think you are. Yeah Son of a mother

duck Mother have the most options available to

us, and we're screwing each other over constantly

You think we have similar taste I think we might

ah Man all right, so yeah, yeah, that's the way

it goes though. You know no regrets, right? That's

way the cookie crumbles. No regrets Chuck Yes,

sorry about that Chuck, but We will we kind of

do go right back to you though for your nine

o 'clock hour the you know Or farce is for your

ten o 'clock hour. I'm sorry. I took the walking

dead from you But I think there's still some

good options out there for great like freaky

shows that kind of fit that theme so Yeah for

my for my last Pretty much last slot here on

Tuesday 10 o 'clock, I'm going with an hour long

series that was always pretty popular in the

90s. I actually know a lot of people that were

really into the show. But and I always thought

that the theme song at the beginning was wicked

cool. Yeah. And that is the X files. Nice, nice.

My wife would love your network. Wow, that was

pretty good Greg that was Chuck that was me So

freaky I was doing impression of Greg doing an

impression of That's the whole another level

All right, Greg moving on to you for the last

pick of tonight You have the monsters Adam family

the Twilight Zone For this creepy crawly Tuesday

that we all decided to go with what is the final

show? My final show is actually a show that I've

been binge watching lately and it definitely

fits in with the eerie creepy Vibe, but it definitely

has some humor in there. I definitely Laughed

my ass off during some of the shows and that

is supernatural Yeah again, I think My wife again

will like your guys is not going with the Winchester

boys. Nice. I prefer rubbing to myself. He was

in an episode, Chuck. Very cool. So, yeah, so

that is. What I'll be doing is on GeekCastRadio

.com, too. I'll be putting a link to see all

the different trails we picked up so far. Maybe

even throw a poll in there to see which networks

are shaping up the best as we go. And next week,

we'll be finishing this off by choosing Wednesday,

Thursday, and of course, Fun Friday. And we'll

see if we steal things from each other even more.

But before we go, what? You better not, Dan.

I know. I know. I know. I will try not to. I

will try not to. But before we end tonight, we

like to end each episode with a letter. And tonight,

Chuck is up and he has a letter for us. So Chuck,

why don't you let us know what you'll be doing

for tonight? I will be speaking to someone that

I talked about at the very beginning of the episode.

And that would be the lazy department store shoppers

and cart returners. OK, so here we go. Dear lazy

department store shoppers, I would like to talk

briefly about your incredibly lethargic and apathetic

tendencies at the average American department

or grocery store. Specifically, the cart return.

Yes, those crazy inventions that are placed intermittently

throughout the parking lot so that you have an

organized way to keep shopping carts until the

cart boy can retrieve them and take them back

into the store. And it never ceases to amaze

me just how much of a jerk bag you people can

be. The concept is simple enough, sure, but the

execution, the execution is severely lacking.

Somewhere there is a disconnect. I'm pretty sure

you understand the concept that the carts need

to go there, but I simply believe that you just

don't give a crap where you put these things.

Let's break it down though. With the average

spacing of the cart returns in the parking lots,

I would estimate that your average time to walk

the cart to the return and come back to your

car would be approximately 10 seconds. Yes, the

same 10 seconds that you would take to send a

text, pick your nose or scratch your annoying

ass after a rough hour of shopping. You said

shopping, right? Not a rough hour. Yes. And yes,

the same 10 seconds that it would take for you

to stare and make fun of the other person walking

by that you somehow think you're better than.

I know it's tough to walk 20 feet and then come

back another 20 feet, even though you just walked

a total of 5000 feet throughout your search for

chocolate covered gummy Skittles that you need

to shove in your pie hole. I think you can muster

the strength to return your cart when the lady

parked next to you is raising three kids by herself.

Just want to battle with breast cancer, works

two jobs and she returned her cart. So, yeah,

in conclusion here. Basically suck it up shed

that I don't care attitude ditch the laziness

that runs rampant in our society And try to act

like a decent American. Thank you. That is all

sincerely your swift kick in the ass Chuck And

then like it's always like the person in place

it in like the perfect location so it takes up

like three parking spots as if like That's awful.

There's just tool bags. It's unbelievable. Definitely.

All righty, so there are a lot of ways to get

in contact with our show. You can email us at

feedback, ekikastradio .com, or talkingincirclesatlive

.com. We're on Facebook and Twitter. Just search

Talking In Circles, GCRN. And where can people

find you on Twitter, guys? Chuck? I am at heroicagechuck.

And I am at the Create Forge where I got a lovely

message from Kara Santa Maria. Interesting. I

don't know who that is. She is one of the ships

from Columbus. She is a scientist and she has

a podcast called Talk Nerdy. She is very cute.

And very brilliant. So IQ is about 10 million

points more than mine, so. She could be in Criminal

Minds. She could be. Very cool. And I am at Movie

Revolt. Anyways, that'll be it. And I am at Movie

Revolt. But that'll be it for us for this week.

We'll be back next week. Same time, same channel,

same podcast feed. But for now, this has been

Chuck. This has been Greg or Backstabbing Dan.

And this has been Backstabbing Dan, and even

we've been talking in circles! We'll see you

next week! You're making me backstabbing! In

part, the idea that I can be prisoner is worthy

saving of thy life, backstabbing Dan. Have you

no one to talk to, Danny? I have this great show

called I'm Drawing a Blank. Uh, Lost? Yeah, exactly.
