Talking in Circles
2014 Year in Review

About this Episode
Hey, I'm Bryce Carlson, writer of Hit and managing
editor at Boom Studios, and you're listening
to Talking in Circles. You are now on the inside
of what I like to call the circle of trust. We
are all connected in a great circle of life.
You know something, Bert? I think you and I are
going in circles. It feels like we're going in
circles. The circuit is now complete. When I
left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the
master. Because it's a circle. Yeah, we heard
about the circle. Yeah, that's what the million
would change. This is Greg. This is Chuck. And
this is Dan. And we are talking in circles about
the cats. Yo, network. Today we have a very special
episode of Unnumbered 50. Wow, it's almost been
a year. Kind of crazy. And today also, we're
coming once again, about one year ago we came
from here, and now we're coming again. And that's
from Greg Beverly Studios, aka Greg's Kitchen
Table. Thanks for having us, Greg. No problem.
Please excuse the dog that's whining in the background.
We promise we're not doing anything bad to it.
Just wants to be in the podcast. Yeah, we're
just showing it no love whatsoever. But yeah,
so today is our 50th episode and actually kind
of works out well because it's also kind of the
closing of 2014 as a whole So, you know, we'll
get into some of our favorite stuff that happened
this year regarding movies TV All that great
stuff and also second segment getting into the
more important stuff the favorite moments from
the podcast in the past year But before we get
to all that how's the weekend going for you guys?
How was your Christmas vacation? It needs to
be longer, that's my big thing. I had to use
up a lot of my vacation time from work, but it's
definitely worth it. I always look forward to
the time off to just kind of chill out, relax,
catch up on my reading, which I haven't really
done too much of because, well, girlfriend takes
up a lot of time, so. Those are important. Girlfriends
or the reading? Girlfriends. How about you, Shaq?
How's your Christmas going? Or how'd your Christmas
go? Oh, very good. I had a really good Christmas
this year for a lot of different reasons. One
reason, my uncle and his girlfriend got engaged,
so that was really cool. Oh, nice. Yeah. And
his two sons, which obviously are my cousins,
lived in Florida, and they've moved back up here,
so I get to hang out with them a little more
now. That's pretty cool. Cool. They might be
listening to this. I don't know. Just want to
say hi to my mom. Please god, I hope my mom doesn't
listen to that. My mom's listening from the other
room. So Greg will be in his best behavior. And
that's something really cool we did through my
work. We did this wish program thing for the
holiday and what we did was we took a preschool
class at a Head Start facility. And held them
for ransom. My boss's wife works for them. To
qualify to be in the program. They have to be
very low -income family So there was a class
of 33 kids and we knew they really weren't gonna
get a whole lot for Christmas if anything so
We took up collections in my office and raised
over $2 ,000 bought them all a bunch of gifts
and Even had some money left over that we took
another family and bought them a bunch of gifts
and stuff So that was really really cool. That
is that's that's pretty awesome yeah and we got
what was really cool too we got to deliver the
presents to them at their preschool like they're
all you know three four years old yeah one of
our guys is a volunteer firefighter so they let
him borrow the fire truck for the day another
guy dressed up as santa claus so he had santa
in a fire truck what if there was a fire It was
it was cool how they worked out because the day
before they needed the truck and the day after
they needed the truck It was like totally open
and the kids just loved it like they saw Santa
they were checking out the fire truck and Like,
you know, we passed out the gifts to them. They
were all like super excited and You know just
watching them open like open their gifts and
that's all everything They had these huge smiles
on their faces. It was really really cool Nice.
To be honest, if Santa came in a fire truck to
my work, I'd be excited. We did something similar
to my work. We didn't raise money, but we created
these bags for the homeless. They were with food,
sandwich bags, and stuff like that, full of meals.
There was a competition between two of our different
departments, and we made like... ended up making
nearly 200 different bags. So it was, you know,
our department won, my department won, so not
to rub it in, but you know, we care more. That's
what I'm saying. We care more. Well, you both
have jobs that apparently care more. My job did
absolutely nothing. We went out for lunch. Well,
I feel bad because you're saying you need a longer
vacation. I get kind of I get spoiled because
I have from Christmas day off until I don't go
back to the fifth. So I get spoiled. So I have
plenty of time to catch up on movies and all
that great stuff. So I've been spending a lot
of time actually working on like end of year
articles that'll be at keycastradio .com. So
you can look at those stuff about, you know,
different movie awards, my top 10 movie list.
And I actually doing a comic list for the first
time this year. So, though, I mean, I technically
read 10 comics that are current. So I don't know
how much, how much that really works. But so
it's been, it's been an eventful week, of course,
and Having some time off. I had an opportunity
to do some fun stuff as well One thing we actually
did though was in the Christmas spirit was we
went to go see it's a wonderful life But it was
actually we've tried to be cultured because you
know, we're adults now and it was a play version
of it It was like an old radio play So you get
it's like it they kind of play it like you're
back in the 50s and you're watching an old radio
show like a live -action radio show We do you
have different give like five different actors.
They're playing multiple parts, but it's kind
of like a hybrid so they can kind of It's like
a smaller production. It was actually really,
really cool. Cause they had someone like in the
back in the corner doing all the different sound
effects with like jugs and like, is that the
guy who are the guy went from police? Exactly.
Like a Wilson could get any other, you know,
back then they had to use like, you know, actual
physical objects and stuff like that. So that
was kind of cool. It's like, um, seeing it in
that form. They had a Like five different actors
and what's kind of interesting is in in between
the different acts like intermission and whatnot
They did they had commercials like like old -timey
commercials. Like one was for Old Bay, which
is very popular in Baltimore if we put it on
everything from wings of crabs of french fries
and Also for H &S Bakery, which is a famous bakery
in Baltimore. So it was kind of like catered
towards the Baltimore area in that way That was
interesting and it was I love that time period
and they had all the old -fashioned it was kind
of it was cool it was kind of and the actors
are really good there is this one guy who he
felt like the ultimate old -time game show host
like he has like the cool mustache and he was
just very much like a showman and they're all
they're all pretty impressive because they're
all playing multiple parts within the same scene
so it didn't require you to have some Concede
were you realizing this guy's arguing with himself,
but it was it was fun in that aspect So it was
hopefully we're going to see more plays. We're
actually another one My go -to is called one
night in Miami about Muhammad Ali It's just like
them on to him the night before he changes his
name We might get into go -to so it's a lot of
fun But I don't know what do you guys have you
been up to anything else with your free time?
I feel like that Muhammad Ali things just gonna
be like Think my name should be mom and I'll
leave 50 bucks for that ticket people Wow Dictionary
it's like big book of names You wasn't a fan
of alliterations I've actually watched something
that I don't think you guys have probably ever
heard of It's called Marvel's Agents of Shield.
I'm not sure if you guys... They actually have...
What's that about? There's these agents and they're
from this organization called Shields. What does
Shield stand for? It's this big long thing. If
you ask what BPRD is, I can tell you that one.
It's like that inspector. I don't know the name.
I don't know what it stands for. Strategic Hazard
Intervention Espionage and Logistics Division.
Shut up won the door price. Yeah, and that's
with no computer. That's just straight. Yeah,
that was straight straight from the old mind
You should just drop the mic and walk away Just
drop your very expensive mic onto the ground
very slowly. It's more like turning it But yeah,
they actually have agents of shield on Netflix
They have the first season so I actually had
the had the time over the holiday break to to
catch up with that and I 13 hours you'll never
get back I It actually turned out a lot better
for me than I thought it was gonna be from my
first initial watch of the first Seven or eight
episodes and giving up on it. Yeah towards the
end it got I Say midway through the first season
it really started to pick up especially with
the whole there's people in shields that really
shouldn't be and Trying to figure out who that's
gonna be and I was actually really surprised
who the turncoat was yeah in the shield organization
I It was just really surprising who actually
turned out to be the agent that crosses and i'm
actually looking really forward right now to
seeing uh the second season seeing where that's
going at this point i think that move making
that one character what they did that saved the
whole show oh definitely did and that was at
the point when they you know when they tied it
in with the captain america movie and from there
that's when everything kind of took off i think
is do you think that was their um intent because
they kind of I don't think they ever intended
to switch that character. I think that was kind
of a thing that was like, you know, let's do
this to help us out. And I think it was, I don't
think it was a planned thing from the very beginning,
honestly. Yeah, because that character seemed
to be very nice to that. Like he wasn't even
on your radar of like top people that would be,
would turn against. The organization, I guess
you would say so what it was like when agent
Colton turned on the team Yeah, i've heard i've
heard that like that uh once it tied in with
captain america winter soldier got Markably better
and then the second season you've been watching
the second season right chuck that that's been
really good. Yeah I still need to catch up with
that. I did see it's on Netflix so maybe I have
to sit down and watch it. I think I stopped after
like the third or fourth episode. Oh wow, you
stopped really short. Yeah, I did stop short.
Yeah, you're gonna have to wait a couple episodes
after that one to get to the actual good stuff.
Yeah, so I've been... Check it out. Maybe once
both seasons are on so I know that the second
seasons they're waiting for Just skip to like
episode 10 or something They also have a awesome
I'm not sure if this is gonna make it better
for you, but they have Bill Paxton in there I
heard yeah, I do like Bill Paxton. So that's
that does make it better for me I also hear Patton
Alswalt shows up for an episode. Yes, he does.
Yeah, so which is pretty he does a pretty good
job with it, too He's um, he's in a couple more
in the second season too. Nice. So yeah, I might
have to That one episode's really gonna throw
Dan for a loop after you said that. Yeah, so,
very cool. How about you, Chuck? Have you been
watching anything? Well, firstly, I gotta...
I gotta apologize. I haven't been on the podcast
in, like, a few hours. Yeah, he went rogue that,
to a different podcast today. Yeah, you know,
it goofed me all up. Hasn't been back since,
since. But I'm sure nobody missed me, because...
I don't know. i think ramble on anyway what technically
you're on last week it was just a little bit
of a recording and then giving so but uh... a
couple of interviews i missed there which you
don't really need me there anyway um... you know
that the guests are the focal point of the other
for sure but uh... yet i've watched a little
bit of stuff cannot go without Talking about
my flash and arrow event I'm actually caught
up so I can actually join in so I am not so I
cannot yeah, there was a huge flash arrow crossover
event, which I'm sure everybody knows about but
we had the Well, the first night was the flashed
up episode and then the second night was the
arrow episode but they each appeared in the others
show and I thought was really really well done.
I was super excited going into that And it did
not disappoint at all. I thought it was really
well done. It wasn't like corny at all and I'm
telling you the more You guys might be surprised
at this, but the more and more I watch these
shows You know, they're really leaving smallville
in the dust Wow, those are dangerous words. They're
far far in a way better written than smallville
in my opinion Yeah, I um, I ended up I really
I think I like the flash Episode with arrow more
than the arrow episode with flash I like them
both but I guess mostly because the flash arrow
showdown at the end of The flash was really good.
I was like spoiler Well, it's it's in the pre
it's called flash versus arrow Still spoiler
there people people internet's gonna blow up.
Yeah Yeah, I thought like their fight was actually
it was like wow, this is So well done for a TV
show. I was not expecting yeah it to be and I
also thought like, you know He has superpowers
and how they're gonna make this work. So it Seemed
legit you would think right from the back like
how could an arrow even compete with? Flash with
his powers and they did a good job with that
for a while But they sort of made it believable
with a couple of things that arrow did. Yes I
don't know. It was really well done. I like the
one with flash going into the arrow show, but
I think it was it didn't have that moment into
it so and i guess like i thought flash was not
nearly as as vital to that storyline as arrow
was to the flash storyline yeah but uh cool i
wish they didn't cut it off at the end though
where they were they were uh You know about to
have another sparring match in the warehouse.
They kind of don't let you see it. They just
cut it off Arrow kills flash it's like Sorry
about that flash gets a text and he goes to check
it and just hit in the face with an arrow So
a question have what have you been liking more
this this is the season of arrow or this first
season of flash? I gotta say the season of flash
Not say I'm disappointed in arrow. I mean so
far. I think the best season of arrow was to
season two yeah This one's still good, but I
think it's just for me. It's falling off a little
bit Maybe it'll pick up more in the second half
here, but I really enjoyed watching flash progress
and it seems like Like some shows take like a
full season to get up to speed no pun intended
But it seems like flash is already in stride
and it's just like it's doing really well I think
it helped that they probably learned from a lot
of the mistakes of arrow and they kind of had
to Had a head start in a lot of ways running
They didn't stumble out of the gates A little
flat -footed at first, but you know, I think
it really dug their heels What's kind of funny
because this flash has better ratings an arrow
too And I just I wonder if just because it has
superpowers that people get more interested in
it What was neat to the the producer there that
kind of works he works both sides both shows
there At first he told me He kind of works both
fields he's bisexual Won't call him by name no
he like originally ruled out any superpowers
in the arrow show when they worked on this crossover,
he said you know what maybe this could work like
because Fans really enjoyed it obviously and
they made it work pretty well in the plot line
So he actually came out and said he's not ruling
out any superpowers for the arrow show from from
now on Well, I mean they kind of had superpowers
with that that drug they were using kind of yeah
It was I mean it was on the borderline of superpowers.
What are they it was like Captain America where
it's like Yeah, maybe a human could do that.
Yeah, it's kind of like, you know, super advanced
steroids, basically. Yeah. So they came close,
I would say. Maybe I could, I'd be interested
in seeing some of the flash villains crossover.
And I mean, you had what the, the, the time guy,
the time guy, the clocking show up in a, in the
flash. So then, then you had the little cameo
by a firestorm there at the end. That was pretty
cool. Yeah. Yeah. I'm curious if. They'll end
up being like a firestorm show and then you have
the you know, the captain adam storyline that's
building in arrow. So I wonder if that'll end
up going any place i'm surprised honestly, I
read the other day that um, they haven't picked
up The second season of flash yet, but they have
to like they they're gonna do it eventually I
mean they picked up a second season of vampire
diary. So it's not gonna I'm because I know there's
there's talk about like other TV series coming
like possibly Supergirl and TNT might be doing
teen Titans and I mean guess those will be technically
separate well Supergirl I guess good technically
crossover. It's if it's CBS, but The cool part
is they even though Supergirl is gonna be on
CBS. I think they're yeah. Yeah, so it'll be
like a cross -network thing, but That actually
may cross over with the flash and arrow universe.
Yeah, the same producers working on it And I
can't remember his name. I want to say I want
to say burlandi, but i'm not sure Yeah, it's
interesting. There's a lot a lot in development
and then there's gotham and and then there was
Because it's to the worst of 2014. Uh, no, I
don't did you get to see the the aero finale
with razal ghul? I did though. I I kind of started
watching it but fell asleep so i had to go back
and watch it really well done if anyone hasn't
seen that you got to see that i ended up waking
up at the end of it and seeing how it ended so
kind of left wondering how that's going to progress
i'm i'm glad they didn't like this is a little
bit of a spoiler if you don't want to hear but
i'll try not to ruin it but they didn't like
they didn't kind of uh pull the wool over your
eyes making you think like arrow could actually
beat him Like I like the way they did it. Yeah,
you know what I mean? Because obviously also
ghouls been like Peak training for like 70 years
or something. Yeah again thing. Like you can't
expect someone to go and beat him That's been
yeah, you know an arrow for seven years trading
for you know I had trading for an afternoon or
two. So I took a karate class in college. I watched
a lot of YouTube videos But yeah, I guess kind
of anything else is that Um, if you have any
more that's I think that's what I just I have
a lot of movies to watch because I got a lot
for Christmas All the Marvel ones that I I Held
off on buying so that people would have something
to get for me Nice Guardians and Captain America
and Days of Future Past all that good stuff.
So Very cool. My mom my parents didn't care for
Guardians too much. I know if they really liked
about Guardians but the music My mom was singing
along unfortunately, I thought they would like
the raccoon I would have thought my mom would
like to rock it as well, but she she was all
about the the base About that base about that
base no group I did not use use that song I had
I had a couple people like a couple guys at work
that are like into these movies too and stuff
and You know when they saw the preview way back
then like Alex dumb, you know But then when they
saw the movie like I was like the best one. Yeah
Like so cool the one guy I got I got the one
guy obsessed with Thanos now he thinks Like yeah
pretty much It's interesting did you see like
James Gunn had he did like an interview talking
about Thanos and like how that was like the one
thing Marvel gave him that he had to do was include
him in some way Yeah, so it would she like he
I guess was kind of difficult It's like you have
to include him, but you can't give away too much
at the same time So yeah, I'd be interested in
seeing how that works with the next Guardians
movie and you did what he did well with it Yeah,
and then there's a whole thing where like Josh
Brolin kind of let it slip in an interview He's
like, oh, yeah infinity war will basically be
Thanos versus everyone and then like James Gunn
like had to clarify a little bit and he said
like, you know, Guardians 2 won't be crossing
over with the Avengers at all. And then people
took that out of context and said, Avengers and
Guardians are never teaming up. And he had to
straighten it out again and say they could possibly
down the line. I'm just saying the next movie
they're not. So because, you know, no one ever
overreacts on the internet to interviews or anything.
So that was shocking. He said guardians is never
coming out ever again. No, it's like yeah, that's
kind of crazy people take things and Everyone
wants that clickbait. So, you know But kind of
getting into that we don't we're it seems kind
of perfect transition. We're getting into 2014
stuff. So You know looking at movies this year.
Would you say you know looking at the bass of
2014? We had there's a quite a competition and
regarding best comic book movie, you know, you
had guardians you had Captain America you had
You know x -men DSP should passed maybe a spider
-man. I don't know That also it also came out
this year but even it's in City 2 came out on
300 and I think snowpiercer, which is Technically
a comic book related movie that So would you
say guardians out of that is your favorite or
would you go more so Captain America or X -Men?
Whoo, it's tough. I don't know. I I liked all
three like a lot. I don't think I could even
pick a favorite I don't know it depends what
I'm what mood I'm in on that particular day It's
like, you know caps one of my favorite characters
and Thanos one of my favorite characters and
I really love the Days of Future Past storyline
The sentinels and everything that was well done.
So yeah, don't make me choose Great. Could you
choose or are you also torn? Yeah, I could kill
my children Well, it's not my children but uh,
but in the future just it's you know, it's a
staple to make that known Yeah, so the cops can
arrest me easily enough. Okay. Um, but yeah,
I I could pick it out of movie I definitely thought
guardians was by far my favorite Followed very
closely by Captain America and frankly, I know
i'm probably gonna get a little bit of beef for
this but uh x -men Wasn't my most favorite comic
book movie ever. It was really good, but I didn't
give it a lot of props like some people have
Interesting because I would I think cap is my
favorite out of all of them I think it just structurally
is the best. Um, yeah I think it I mean I think
Guardians is probably a lot more fun of a film
and has a great soundtrack and of course but
I think the characters are a lot of fun but I
think Cap like has is like the complete movie
with great action the story itself is really
great and there's a lot to it and great performances
throughout and does some interesting things and
completely rewrites how what Marvel was up to
that point so I do I think Cap is probably my
favorite and I'd actually say I could see what
you're saying regarding X -Men Greg because the
first time I saw it I was Wasn't sure I'm like,
I don't know if I like it as much as I thought
I would I didn't appreciate it a lot more watching
it a second time in the theater Well, I do have
it on blu -ray and stuff. So I have seen it a
couple of times. Oh, yeah Yeah, it's it's still
hasn't really done much for me a second or third
See cuz I'd actually would put I think I like
X -Men more than Guardians I like Guardians a
lot but I maybe it's just a bias of my own. I
don't know. I can't let go I think I think you
kind of You took the words of what I was thinking
in my mind just now like if I could take away
my emotions and look at it objectively Yeah,
Captain America is the better movie in my opinion
Just like you said structurally like the plot.
I mean was so well written Like Guardians is
a little more Simple yeah, but it's definitely
the most fun like you said like so it's it's
kind of what you're looking for but Think with
Guardians what was great about Guardians is probably
the best like intro movie that was ever done
baby because it didn't focus a lot on like origins
it just kind of got the groundwork going and
it's probably the biggest risk that Marvel's
taken so far so Yeah, and I mean, I think a talking
tree and a raccoon into household names, which
is kind of impressive. So although I mean It's
a great year to be it's a great year to be a
geek considering like you like we have this choice
like last year 2013 I thought the comic book
movies were okay, but I think this year we had
you know two two to three really great ones and
then I I know a lot of people hated Sin City
2 I thought it was okay. I didn't hate it as
much as a lot of people 300 rise of Empire was
boring Yeah It had one good performance from
Eva Green, but besides that It's usually she
pulls through in that that aspect Yeah, she gave
the film a lot of support as you would say But
yeah, and then I don't know if if you've seen
stone piercer It's actually on Netflix, which
is it is on which is a lot of fun so I was reading
an article at just the other day actually about
kind of the decline of like the indie like comic
movies this year and like how Marvel basically
ruled the box office this year with all their
stuff and I mean that was kind of expected but
I guess like even compared to years past like
some of those ones like 300 and Sin City and
stuff they really dropped off yeah like you know
box office performance wise yeah they like Sin
City 2 was a huge bomb 300 did okay but not nearly
as good as they used to and Even Amazing Spider
-Man 2 didn't do as well. I think Marvel has
the two biggest films of the year right now,
which is kind of crazy. We're not counting Spider
-Man. Spider -Man 2 is Marvel. No, no. It's still
with Sony, though. Maybe not for much longer.
Who knows? Yeah, that was interesting, too. Did
you read anything about those emails that they
hacked? A little bit. Marvel almost got Spider
-Man back. There may be some truth to it. I don't
know. Nothing has been announced officially though,
but like I'm gonna start the rumor mill Well,
you're on the internet so well what I heard was
Marvel could use spider -man in Captain America
Civil War Sony would actually produce 25 % of
the movie they would actually pay for 25 % of
the movie if Marvel paid for 25 % of the next
spider -man movie and Sony would have total control
over the dialogue the suit and The actor the
hairstyle. Yeah So they would still have like
control over that stuff and then to sweeten the
deal Sony would be allowed to use two Avengers
characters in their spider -man movie just to
tie in the universe even better Seems really
intriguing. I have no idea if there's any truth
to it or not, but that would be pretty sweet
That would be interesting It's like it's like
nfl is trying to get trades and we'll give you
play to be named later Might give you Hawkeye
later on, you know That I mean that'd be interesting
I would be curious how that goes if if they do
that if i'm guessing that would mean andrew gorfield
if there would not be Would not be spider -man
someone else would step in So we were talking
about stuff we liked was anything that came out
this year or you know movie TV anything wise
that ended up being kind of a Disappointment
that you had your hopes up for that ended up
kind of being a dud I know we mentioned Gotham.
I don't know if we ended up if you would officially
call that kind of disappointing and it's when
it finally came out Yeah, that was that was something
I was looking forward to and kind of let me down
I Quit very early on I think I stayed longest
on that one, and I'm even not watching it. I
quit after the cheesy balloon man episode. That
was just too much. There wasn't actually a cheesy
balloon, right? There wasn't, like, they didn't
have another balloon guy. It sounds delicious.
And then I think one you mentioned before, which
was the 300 sequel, I was hoping that would be
really, really great, but I kind of walked out
of there like, ehh. Yeah, I think you know, I
think it really missed Gerald Butler the guy
that was like, you know, the yeah the main star
he just didn't really have the You know the charisma
I guess I don't know just the fortitude that
Gerald Butler had in the original 300 that made
it work And this year guys, I have actually walked
out of my first movie Yeah, yeah first movie
I've ever walked out on I didn't even ask for
my money back. I just walked right out. It was
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good.
What the hell is up with this? Why can't Steve
Krell be in an actual funny movie? Because he
is actually really funny and I don't understand
what is going on. When will this title ever end?
Please kill me now. I actually even fell asleep.
to this movie, which is exceptionally hard for
me to do. If I'm out in public, I usually don't
fall asleep in front of people. If there's something
going on, a lot of moving pictures, I get distracted
by those, and so I'll watch. But this apparently
did not have enough movement or charisma to...
keep me in the theater um and it was one of my
first dates with gaby too so i was like do you
want to go because this is awful she was the
one that picked it out i threw gaby under the
bus there but she had a terrible taste in a movie
right there well you know You can't win them
all, I guess. Well, I think I have a worse movie
than that. Luckily, I didn't see it in the theater.
If I did, I'd probably walk out. But I catched
it when it was on HBO. It was The Legend of Hercules,
not the one with The Rock, but with Ken Lutz.
I heard that movie was awful. I think I said,
I saw a better CGI in Oregon Trail. Then it was
so it was awful. It was so bad and oh It is I
think we need to give up on that guy becoming
an action star like yeah He was in spendables
3 He was I mean, I know he was in Twilight. He's
just like I know he's a big dude But like maybe
make him like a bodyguard or something, but he's
no he has no acting talent whatsoever He's so
dry and dead and the movie itself was really
really bad. It was If it was like a tv movie
or you know direct to video like okay But it
was a legit movie that was released like a wide
release and like this is just embarrassing for
everyone involved It was it would rank in one
of the worst movies i've ever seen it was it
was awful so and then you have like Movie we
talked about earlier this year like the teenage
mutant ninja turtle movie. Well I forgot about
that. Yeah, the new turtles and the new transformers.
I mean that Kind of uh seeing I you know, you're
trying to die a little bit more and more That's
why I tried to make up for it. I got a whole
bunch of uh, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles funko
pops It's watching all the old stuff Well, the
funny thing is like like uh, I mentioned the
gift drive we did at my work Like the big thing
with kids this year was Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles. There was a lot of kids asking for that
stuff and i'm like That's great, but i'm like
you guys don't even know the half of the Potential
that they could have like they were so much better
back in the day you give them the older ones.
It's like no Well, I actually gave I I bought
because I was one of the shoppers where he had
shoppers that went out and bought gifts And the
one kid I knew liked the turtle. So I got him
a figure of the 1984 Turtles, you know like that
version when they first came out in the comic
where they all had the red bandanas. Yeah Kid
was like, what the hell is this? Take it back,
mister! Throws it in your head. And I guess it
came with like a comic in it, like an age -appropriate
comic. It wasn't like the original, but... Here's
this comic full of death and murder. See, I went
old school. I was like, yeah, I didn't get any
of the new movie stuff for them, but... Well,
the new movie ones look like grotesque and kind
of odd but yeah Well, what was the kids actual
reaction? I do The kid like he ripped it open
and he was like he was holding it out and he
was like, yes He's like running around like showing
people Nice I got him the Raphael one with the
with the size good choice good choice Figured
like then you wouldn't be compute confused because
he is the red one Yeah, so I figured if I got
him like a Leonardo with like a red thing. He'd
be like what the hell? Okay, this is how it actually
goes In your origin, it's you know, watch this,
you know make and watch turtles forever and Which
is actually kind of funny because that's I ended
up watching that because of the podcast because
when you brought it up So, oh, yeah, you can
get to that a little later I also just some of
the things that ended up disappointing me this
year I did like a list of my most anticipated
films like number two on that list was interstellar
and I talked about it like a while back when
it first came out and I don't think it was a
bad movie I think it's still in it being overall
successful, but it was considering Christopher
Nolan, you know, the guy who brought us dark
night interception and It uh, I had a number
of issues with it. So I probably anticipation
was too high, but it that was probably that and
and godzilla which I liked but I Had a lot of
issues with two probably two of the bigger disappointments
movies that I still ended up enjoying but I had
higher hopes for that kind of didn't quite hit
Yeah, that's a good point But any anything else
come out this year that surprised you that you
thought would be bad, but ended up being Good,
maybe even comic book related or anything like
that The Fault in Our Stars. No, I'm kidding.
The movie's a downer. I've still yet to watch
it. I've heard good things. I've still yet to
see The Fault in Our Stars. You will get instantly
depressed. That's what I've heard. What else
came out? I don't even remember. Well, you know,
did you see Divergent by any chance? No, I didn't.
I did. It was the movie that the teenage girls
behind me were going through some life changes.
wanted to change uh... actually one uh... one
that really surprised me uh... you talked about
like last episode or something but i finally
had to the hunger games uh... movie and i like
that a lot uh... i thought this was way better
than the second one uh... because they explained
more stuff i kind of got more of like what was
happening there and i was like for some reason
i was really confused to the first two okay i
didn't read the books or anything so i was kinda
clueless about what was happening but This third
one like I really understood more of what was
happening and it was I thought it was really
well done Would you put that as your favorite
so far? I think I think I still would put the
first one in there. Yeah, they kind of introduces
everything But I thought the third one was better
than the second one. Yeah Interesting and Philip
Seymour Hoffman was good in there. Yeah, and
they really didn't Like show anything happening
to him. So I'm kind of wondering how they're
gonna explain his Like his not being present
in the fourth film i'm sure they'll come up with
something But I think it'll still be there because
I think they shot the they shot both at the same
time Like I think it's like he was nearly done
filming when he before he passed away I think
he had just one scene that But uh, Hershey was
supposed to be a vital scene that he won't be
for so it's supposed to be someone else doing
it So my guess is they'll figure it out something
i'm kind of curious what they're going to do
next year with like fast and furious with Paul
Walker and how that's gonna work out Well, I
heard his brothers kind of took over the role
from them and they're one of the brothers is
actually gonna take over permanently in that
role. Oh, yeah I know he's like he's technically
in the seventh one. So I wonder if they'll just
like Next scene. He looks a little different.
I don't know but uh, maybe a little it can't
be as bad as that Headed my head no, I had the
one Bruce Lee movie where he passed away and
then they stuck in a cardboard cutout It is one
of the worst Bruce Lee films ever but it is hilarious
how they kind of scary thing is a cardboard cutout
of Bruce Lee could probably still kick This cardboard
cutout does punch back so and they had a guy
that looked somewhat similar to bruce lee but
not at all and they put sunglasses on him oh
man that was lee bruce well i think we need a
similar shoe with like uh brandon or was it brandon
lee i forget his name yeah with the sun on the
crow on the crow yeah so that's interesting but
um yeah i can't even think of anything else that
really surprised me this year i mean that ended
up being better than like i said like i know
a lot of people hate it since city 2 i thought
I thought it was not nearly as good as the first
one, but it ended up I liked liked it more than
I anticipated So that was a pleasant surprise
and much in divergent, which I thought was okay.
I know that one's that second one's coming out
this year Yeah, hopefully I don't have to see
it. Yeah, I would I it was just kind of a dud.
Yeah Um, I I would prefer hunger games over that
Oh by far Plus I like uh, jennifer lawrence over
whatever shaylene woodley. Yeah I realized something
in Hunger Games that I never put two and two
together before but the district that Katniss
is from Like they're like the coal mining. Yeah,
and that's like our area because like I saw this
thing on Facebook with like a map of all the
districts in North America in like the world
of Hunger Games and Their district district 12
is like West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York,
and that's like the mining region and watching
the first movie I never put that together that
that could be the area we're from but yeah we're
you know this area is famous for coal mining
and stuff like that but I never realized like
you know it's like congratulations people on
our area you might actually get somebody like
Jennifer Lawrence You just be in the worst district.
It's also like the worst district in the movie
So but I'd rather be in the district that they
were in with that a huge underground missile
silo and they were like wable of the ground that
seems much safer And then there was like this
I guess maybe that three district was Seattle
With all the people in flannel. Yeah, all the
bounty paper towel guys Just some like we didn't
watch movies. There's some tv shows. I ended
up really enjoying this year, uh, even true detective
was which was huge, but Uh, silicon valley. I
don't know if you saw that but that was on hpo.
It's right. I I don't have the hpo the hpo. Yeah
Sorry, i've been hanging out with my grandmother
That was really good. I would I would if you
have an opportunity checking that out, um, uh
for true detective I just want to check out alexandria
didario Sure, you can get that scene on like
online or something Probably yes. Um, but yeah,
it's been it was pretty good year for TV and
walking dead's been pretty good this season Yeah,
I think it started off really strong. I'm curious
what's where it's gonna go next. So But it's
been a good good year to be a geek. So Anything
else before we take a break? Don't think so.
I'm sure I'll think of something later, but Got
a really big pop vinyl addiction this year that
you've heard of over the past nine million episodes
We'll get to that shortly all of the addictions
that were caused because of the podcast and all
that other great stuff all the new comics I'm
now reading because of this podcast and TV shows
and whatnot So we're gonna take a quick break
and get into more of the stuff we got into because
in the year of 2014 So we'll see in a bit Every

when the guilty are punished by a violent vigilante?
If so, maybe you should get some therapy, and
then subscribe to Punish Your Body Count, the
Nets best podcast concerning all things Frank
Castle. I'm Dane Lamont. My co -host Jake Williams
and I cover the good, the bad, and the hilarious
on The Punisher in comics, movies, and news.
Do you like chummy co -host banter? We got that.
You need to get your fucking hands out, man.
No, you need to fucking pay attention to the
fucking movie. You want kick -ass guest interviews?
How about Mike Barron and Tom Jane? No, I like
a little bit of grit in my cigars. You want carefully
considered in -depth analysis? I mean, yeah,
just one best picture at the Oscars yesterday.
I mean, it's no Terminator. Good luck with that.
Punish your body count. Twice a month on Geekcast
Radio. All right, and welcome back. And we went
over all the movies and TV that we like this
year, of course, Arrow and... Guardians of Galaxy,
all that great stuff. But also 2014, probably
the biggest thing that happened in 2014 was the
fact that Talking in Circles became a podcast.
So, you know, it's only natural that we talk
about, you know, how it all went this year, what
we liked about what we did, you know, what we
hope to be doing again and how the podcast impacted
our lives and all that fun stuff. So I'm kind
of curious, you know, like over this past year
for you guys, of any specific game we played,
episode that comes to mind when you think about,
you know, some of your favorite moments from
the past year. Well, I think like some of my
favorite stuff was when we were doing like the
crazy news stories and Like fact of fiction those
stick out the most in my mind like those recurring
ones. Yeah the one the one story that the thinking
of all the crazy but true stories we went over
the one story that reminds me of was one that
you both ended up picking up but there was the
tourist and it was a Germany or forget what country
that I get that got stuck into the statue of
a female anatomy that he couldn't get out for
quite a long time I remember that was that was
one of those like you know proud to be American
moments that we went over I forget what episode
that was it was like the second time we did it
But anything about you Greg anything any game
that comes to the mind that you enjoyed playing
or anything like that I definitely enjoyed factor
fiction or sequel reboot Yeah, a lot of the games
that you came up with Dan were a lot of fun One
of my biggest failures, I think, on the podcast
was coming up with the one of guessing if it's
an actual superhero name or not and what their
abilities are. I don't think that went over to
quite the plumb that I was expecting. That was
pretty good. It was episode nine, the power of
names, where I thought it went well. Greg and
I or Chuck and I had to basically determine if
a character was real or not. It was like that
classic. Oh that guess who I am game talk show
back in the day where we had to try to determine
if the person was wheel That yeah, that was back
in episode 9 the power of names, but I also had
a game that didn't go really well when it was
the oh the time game I remember the time. For
those who didn't listen, basically was trying
to guess the year out of random facts. But I
think my facts were maybe too random and too
obscure, and no one in their right mind could
even guess it, Googling. Turns out Greg and I
were a little rusty on our histories. I should
have been more like, what comes after the year
1983? 1984, no. but um probably i we yeah we
did play a lot of cool games this year secretly
bone story is always good i'm curious to hear
what other people what other games people like
and we can bring them back and and make sure
we highlight those are ones you didn't like and
maybe you can stay away from them but one of
my favorites wasn't when we we did on repeat
but we'll be bringing it back again this march
which was the march march badass bracket we did
uh early on in the podcast where we try to determine
the biggest badass and in hindsight well now
looking at back back who won that's a bad choice
adrian peterson uh who uh you know you know certain
news came out after that so hopefully you know
person that wins doesn't get arrested for child
abuse. Turns out he wasn't the biggest badass,
he was just an ass. So that's it, but the process
within itself was kind of fun. I know GCR and
more says it has a little bracket they do where
they're right now currently they're trying to...
I like the way you said that, Daniel. They've
got a little bracket. Well, they do it too. There's
a little difference in ours. Ours is not nearly
as serious and we don't... We don't do with fan
vote. We just pick it ourselves because that's
how we roll. But here's here I'd be curious to
hear if people would want to see that come back
and what other badass characters Should we enter
into it that weren't into it last time? I've
been trying to keep a running list because 64
people is a lot. A lot of badasses that count.
So I hope to have a brand new 64 for next time
because I did come up with some that I think
would be great. And it could be anyone from comic
book characters, TV characters, real life people.
It makes it more fun the more random it is. I
mean, we had everyone from Tiny Tim to the Kool
-Aid Man to Batman and Wolverine and like we
said, Adrian Peterson. So we ran the game. gamut
of different craziness so that was that was itself
a good time and I mean I also got to thank the
people that we got the chance I know this last
month or two and we've had a lot of random interviews
and some more coming but like starting with you
know Charm City Games that started off the whole
interview thing and Bryce Carthlin from BOOM
Studios that then came from coming on and there's
another interview that'll be coming out shortly
from this from a group called, from a short film
called The Game Companion which Chuck unfortunately
missed because you know he has a life and had
to do other things which will be coming out so
you know within our first year we had a couple
interviews and hopefully getting some more So
maybe we'll get some famous people even famous
Jennifer Lawrence. Yeah, there's it's hard to
get a lot of people because a lot of people have
restraining orders against Greg There's a court
order that I cannot reveal who has a restraining
order against me Dan probably easier indicate
who was not Rosie O'Donnell might be one of the
few that doesn't have anything But I know Well,
I know that you love your top fives. I do love
my top fives. I should be bringing that up. Those
were a lot of fun to do and edit, honestly. I
don't know if I get overboard with some of the
clips sometimes, but I don't know. I find it
fun. Those were some really fun episodes doing
all those top fives. Yeah. We did so far, top
five anti -heroes, top five movies and favorite
movies and TV, which are good episodes to go
back to you if you're curious about what our
tastes are like. Cartoons. Top five cartoons
and top five... Underrated heroes or so or yeah
underrated character or something like that So
and and again any other top fives you'd like
us to do or games to come back I mean, there's
a lot there's a million different top fives we
could we could get into we also did some of the
Matt Washington Matt Washington Matt Rushmore
is like the Starting with the you know Matt Rushmore
of comedy and the Matt Rushmore of movie franchises
and we doing that again with different topics
and different different Items to debate because
I think there's a lot there we can choose from
I think we mentioned a few even like everything
from like top Matt Rushmore of movie vehicles
or fake vehicles or something like that so top
five running scenes Very easy to put into stone.
I hope you know I just like some of the Battle
Royale deep debate to make you know character
versus character head -to -head that those are
always fun discussions have that's when you can
make really totally switched to deep mode and
just argue fictional punches being thrown in
who would win and for what dumb reasons they
would have to we really let you keep keep them
fly so i think that we should definitely do that
again because there's ultimate uh... i started
playing this like marvel uh... game champions
it's just like you know, not a Facebook game,
but I guess it's like a fighting game that's
like one of those, you know, games for free,
but you end up paying more if you want to spend
for upgrades. But I'm not paying for anything.
But anyways, it kind of got me ideas of different
people to face against each other. Like there
was one with Colossus and not Colossus, but Juggernaut
and Thor. I'm like, I wonder who would win that?
Like that'd be a fun one to debate. So we can
always do that and bring in some new characters,
maybe outside of the Marvel world and stuff like
that. And I gotta say, I was looking through
some of the names of the podcasts and Greg helped
create a lot of the different names, but probably
my favorite name of the podcast we had was It's
Not a Tuma. Which, I don't know why, I love bad
puns and that was one of the worst. My favorite
name was Vladimir poopin which has really become
a come into lexicon since Vladimir Putin has
been a poop head And I guess we got to say if
like there was one running theme or one running
joke that came that was 2014 it was certainly
you know crapping into a bucket thank you and
frank movie randomly watched earlier this year
if we had anything that ever changed my viewpoint
on anything was learning there was an and frank
movie where someone defecated into a bucket and
in a moment that was probably by accidentally
comedic not meant to be but ended up a running
theme i think that was back was it space pope
that episode or it was around that time yeah
that was i was gonna say that our our favorite
uh character we created on the podcast was probably
space pope so i want to see space pope i think
it space post That has to happen. We need like
our new logo with a space pulp in a bucket. I
think you drew that I remember Greg. Yeah, I
drew a very shitty quick drawing of that So better
than when I could do so But the podcast is also
kind of got got I don't know about you but it's
got me into a lot of different things because
of what we talked about and the biggest probably
being we did some of these homework episodes
where Basically, we tried to give each other
things to read watch or listen to and one thing
that I got into because of Greg assigning it
to me was the saga comic and like that has kind
of changed my uh has got me down this bad path
of the fact that i've currently caught up with
that entire series so i really got into like
that saga because of this and that was kind of
cool so i gotta thank Greg i'm indebted to him
because of that comic you are very welcome and
i have discovered recently that i have no freaking
clue where the hell i put my saga comics no i
didn't take them i promise I know, but I was
looking forward on the one day to lend out to
somebody and I'm completely not up in my room
at all. I didn't have anything to do with them,
but I don't know about you. Did you guys end
up watching or reading or anything like that
because of the podcast? Did anything come to
mind at all? Well, very recently I read a comic
because we had an interview with the person who
came up with the comic and that was a hit with
Bryce Carlson and Wouldn't have been something
that I uh picked up from a convention or anything
like that, but it was it was definitely a good
read Yeah, I guess along the same lines I also
got into the card game of cockfight because of
term city games and I play some games But like
I never really played a card game like that.
So that that was a lot of fun So, you know the
power of all you need to do is if you wanted
me to buy something come on my show and interview
you and i'll end up buying your comic so, uh,
you know scotty young or uh, you know Brian Michael
Bendis, I've already bought a Scottie Young stuff.
So he should he should come on the podcast I
don't know Chuck anything for you or you know,
I'll just kind of all Third the point about Hit
the hit comic from boom studios. I thought that
was awesome. Like Greg. That's not something
I would normally gravitate to but you know being
like a noir crime sort of comic, but I really
liked the strong ties with the with the history
of like the LA hit squads and stuff and It was
just really cool to see that and there's something
that I normally don't read so I enjoyed that
a lot a little for issue miniseries and then
also Like some of the homework stuff you guys
gave me like the ultimate stuff and the old man
Logan nice had a great time reading that stuff
and Nothing really that I got addicted to sort
of a saga thing. Yeah, just kind of some one
-time things I really didn't get into I the same
thing with Jericho because I got the first one
we did I got to watch that and then watching
I certainly I haven't finished that series but
uh It was kind of nice because it's one of those
things where I was like I wanted to watch it
now I have to so Kind of the purpose of it. But
one thing we didn't mention, which I hopefully
will get to again, too, are some of our drafts
that we ended up doing. Those seem to go pretty
popular. So I'm curious if people like those.
We did the superhero draft and the action hero
draft. And then we have to do another one. So
because what I think you guys won, I get to win
the draft. Yeah, we did one where we created
our own superhero team. And I think Greg won
that one. Yeah. And then Chuck, you won the action
hero draft, I believe. I think so. Yeah, and
then I won the ultimate Saturday morning though.
So we we got I guess we have to break the tie
So I think one we're talking about doing next
would be the villain draft or something like
that So how that look forward to but I mean and
one thing I think we should also mention do is
like we had a lot I mean We're very young podcasts
in the especially when you look at some of the
podcasts that have been around a long time even
in keycast radio itself and we got a lot of great
fan interaction and one of the I mean early starting
off I think it was Kyle Hall wrote a letter when
we, you know, we finished each episode with a
letter and he was one of the first, actually
the only one so far, but he wrote a letter to
Marvel, which was really cool. And we've had
a lot of great comics on GeCast radio, which
is good to see, seeing people interact. And that's
a lot of fun being able to hear people, see that
people actually are listening and it's not just
us talking into the air. So, you know, we'd be
okay with that too. But uh, hopefully everyone
liked Greg's ongoing story of unknown Yeah, I
mean a lot of fun will be will be entering into
another episode Of that I know and what I'll
be hopefully doing too is Taking all the different
episodes of unknown and making it into like its
own mini podcast So we can listen to it and see
how my voice changes for the same character from
episode episode. That sounds completely different
So that'll happen once you know, I think I think
we're watch 12 episodes in so once ever if we
ever finish it if there's ever an end point,
but uh It'll be like it's on separate podcast.
So I gotta, I gotta give kudos to Greg for writing
that. I think it all started back in the speaking
of drafts with what, uh, the superhero draft,
when you kind of had a whole spiel for creating
your team and Chuck or I were left there thinking
like, we're picking this guy and the whole story
planned out and whatnot. So yeah, I kind of threw
myself over a cliff in a barrel there, I think.
It's it could be a little bit of a pain to write
those stories and I feel like I don't give them
enough enough Work that I really should but uh,
I think they come out really fun I think we have
a lot of fun doing the voices on those. Yeah,
it's My awful acting talent, but hey, you know
It's been so long since I've done the Unknown
Voice. I'm not sure if I can get back into it.
Gotta get back in the character. So when you
play them all together, it'll probably sound
different. Hey, you know, I'll get used to it,
but... I'm not as crazy as Christian Bale getting
into my character, though. Or like, you know,
some of those people. You just stay in character
outside of work? I don't have, um... i don't
have the unknown written on my name plate for
my trailer instead of my actual name on your
license plate it's just a bunch of question marks
it's like that's not you at all um yeah mommy
is the riddler driving that car nice yeah but
i should also thank definitely uh the co -founders
of gcrn with steve and mike giving us the opportunity
and kind of the place to kind of To put this
in geocast on geocast radio. I I know there's
kind of similar podcasts out there Maybe I don't
know but uh, that's our own little opinion. So
we're it's morphed a lot I know I've gone through
and Kind of we listened to some of the old episodes
and I definitely think we've gotten a lot better
in only a year time It's just a natural product
process and my editing has gotten a lot better
I think I over edited it a lot when we first
started and I don't know It's been a fun year,
it's been a fun thing. It's been a cool little
experiment that ended up going out pretty well.
Absolutely. I think too that not only your editing
got better, but I think you didn't have to edit
as much because we got to the point where we
didn't screw up as much. We could just kind of
flow freely through an episode. A lot less cursing
and throwing mics on the ground. And then also
we started not giving a crap about what we said
as much, I think. Definitely more natural, yeah.
i think it's just the progression of it all so
i said poop is poop gonna offend anybody damn
cut out poop i didn't mean to say poop what about
those people that don't poop it's like they may
not enjoy the fact that we said poop oh my god
they might really hate the fact that we called
an episode vladimir poopin so oh my god get rid
of that episode dan get rid of it now we've there's
been a lot of Worst names, I've almost named
episodes, but I'm like, I think iTunes would
get angry. So let's not try to anger the mind
of iTunes and speak giving iTunes. If you're
not bored and you want to give us a Christmas
gift, great iTunes review would be perfect. I
think we're up to 15 or so, which is great. So
more would be even helpful. As we move forward
with our episode titles and everything. Just
don't make any references to north korea because
they will hack us They've already done that chuck
They did not you know like the movie so they
hacked uh tony and got rid of all that stuff
but If they hacked our emails it'd be not nearly
as exciting and be like I I don't understand
any of this This is not exciting at all So yeah,
well, anyways, we'll stop rambling and stop celebrating
ourselves. It's kind of hard though I mean we
are the best podcast going, you know, just putting
that out there. We were kind of an internet -wide
phenomena. Yeah Group hug Internet high five
But we're gonna end each episode like we always
do with a letter and we're gonna end this week
with another episode of unknown It's been a while.
So but this is episode 13 of unknown in like
a lion a lot of attention to my establishment
I don't like attention my young friend so why
don't you tell me why you've been so rash I'm
looking for someone I see and why would you think
that I know anything about this person I searched
the city and he was nowhere to be found He went
missing around your establishment and he said
that he knew you. Well, I know many people. Why
don't you cut out all this shit and tell me who
it is exactly you're looking for. His name is
Don. Of the dead? What's so funny about that?
I didn't think that little shit had any friends.
I'm not his friend. Well then I have good news
for you then. I'm about to kill him for skipping
out on his assignments. What? You can't do that.
I can. That man's skin is my possession and I
can do with it what I will. I take a step forward
and just that little motion sent bodyguards into
action. Several from other rooms and the two
that I was fighting outside stepped into the
doorway. Completely surrounded, I decided a change
of tactics was needed. Brains over brawn. What
if I helped him with his tasks? No, I'm not gonna
let him go because of a promise set forth by
a man that has attacked me and that I don't know.
Fine, I'll do them myself. Nah, you should take
one of my men with you. If you don't handle the
task, my man will. And then he will have another
assignment, if you know what I'm saying. I hope
you're not going to be giving me the goon that
was bugging me outside. Oh, no! You have proven
that my lower end thugs aren't any match for
you. You'll should be going with my top assassin.
Okay, so what is my first task then? Well, for
a man called Don of the Dead, your friend didn't
like to take a life. As you can surmise, I need
you to kill someone. Target and method? I'm starting
you off with an easy one. A merchant in the area
has been trying to turn all the other merchants
against me. I need them to be an example to the
rest of why going against me is bad for the health.
As for the method, I want something a bit showy.
You've got it. I felt sick. I never wanted to
kill an innocent man. But if killing a person
or two leads me to saving Don, so I can then
save my dad. Then so be it. Ah, and here's your
partner now. Meet Cassandra Lyons. Miss Lyons?
Let's get this over with. Don't you want to know
my name? Why should I care? You'll be out of
my way, one way or another, soon. Fight nice
yous, too. Well, I'll be enjoyed that episode
of unknown Hopefully not have as long of a break
in between the next one. So should have some
more straightforward episodes I think we're gonna
take a little bit of a break from the interviews
and get back to good old Good old -fashioned
podcasting though. I say that and next week will
probably be an interview episode. So But after
this once we get through the holiday break and
come back new year So but yeah, I think that'll
be it for this week anything else you guys what
I mentioned before we bring this episode to a
close Am sorry for my dog making licking noises
during unknown it sounds like You you can you
can imagine let's just say like that was a very
very powerful man Greg was playing and you know
Well, I'll keep it at that I just wanted to thank
everybody for listening to us in our first year.
I know We're very young, we just started out,
and we appreciate everybody interacting with
comments and reviews and all that sort of stuff,
and emails and everything. It seems like we had
a lot of loyal listeners throughout the year
and everything, so we definitely appreciate that,
sticking around through our stuff. Yeah, definitely,
and I think some of the friends of the podcast
network, those that have retweeted our stuff,
and that's been a lot of great stuff. You know,
do a shout out to JD from In Session Film. We've
been running his ad on our podcast. He runs ours
on his. So if you've come to listen to us because
of In Session Film, awesome. Appreciate that.
So if you have not listened to In Session Film,
I definitely give that podcast a listen if you're
a movie fan or not. It's a great podcast. See
a lot of great work over there. So they've been
a big help as well. I'm sure getting people to
listen to us. But before we go, there's a lot
of ways to interact with us. Like I mentioned,
you can go to geecastradio .com and like I said,
go there, comment on the episode post, let us
know what you'd like us to do in 2015, which
just seems wrong to say out loud. Yeah, so anything
you'd like us to bring back. And like I said,
we'll try to bring back some of the stuff that
worked, try some new things and stop doing the
stuff that doesn't work because that's how we
do. You can also get us on Twitter and Facebook.
I'm on Twitter at movie revolt. Greg, you're
also at Twitter. What's your Twitter name? You
can get all the pop vinyl retweets and Emily
Radajkowski favorites at the Crate Forge. And
for 2015, Chuck's New Year's resolution is to
get on Twitter, but probably not, right? Uh,
probably not. But you could follow Chuck and
Spirit if you follow Talking in Circles. Also
we're on Facebook. Though we don't Facebook nearly
as much as we used to. I gotta get on that. But
we get most of our interactive Mickey Cash video.
Like I said also, love getting IT interviews.
That would be a huge help for our show. But anyways,
I'll stop blabbering. That'll be it for this
week. We will be back next week. Same time, same
channel, same podcast feed, but for now. This
has been Chuck. This has been Greg or this guy
who doesn't have a name yet It sounds like a
Frankie or something. I don't know And I've been
Dan and we've been talking in circles. We'll
see you next week So I gotta I gotta love the
fact that he must be the originator of the like
the New York accent He definitely is. Frankie
is definitely the originator of this accent that
I got going here. See? I'm guessing this character
won't last very long because you're gonna want
to, like, yeah, making that voice work for me
on the inside. So I'm doing that. I can't wait
until we get to the point where he just says,
I'm walking here. I'm walking here. What are
you blokes doing? It's podcasting here.
