About this Episode

The crew dives into Michael Bay's latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adaptation, discussing the movie's flaws including its bloated plot, excessive sound design, wasted character development, and over-reliance on April O'Neill. They also share their favorite turtles from childhood and compare it to the original 1990 film.

Hey guys, this is Rob Paulson and you're listening

to the GeekCast Radio Network. MC Mikey. You

are now on the inside of what I like to call

the circle of trust. We are all connected in

a great circle of life. You know something Bert?

I think you and I are going in circles. It feels

like we're going in circles. The circuit is now

complete. When I left you, I was but the learner.

Now I am the master. Because it's a circle. Yeah,

we heard about the circle. Yes, we're familiar

with shapes. Hi, this is Chuck. This is Greg.

And this is Dan, and we are Talking in Circles,

brought to you by the GeekCat Radio Network.

Podcasts where we love being turtles I say that

because today we are talking about those heroes

in a half show the Michelangelo Donatello Raphael

and of course Leonardo for those people that

like him. We will be discussing He's such a narc

he's my favorite Well, we'll find about that.

We'll be talking about the turtles Yeah, we'll

be discussing the movie that just came out and

overall we figured hey It'll be a little bit

of a nostalgia trip as we talk about them and

what we got into them back in the day So we'll

get that into the second segment of our show.

But before we get to that, how's the week been

going for you guys? Pretty good. Pretty good.

I normally don't start these off because I don't

normally Have anything that I've really done

throughout the week pretty low -key. I don't

really go out that much But something actually

happened in my room It was actually not that

long ago today the day we're recording this I

actually I got another spammer guys Nice. I got

another spammer. This one. Yeah, I'm not going

to give the ending number that they have, but

the names Pink Kitty Bella. Nice. Yes. Pink Kitty

Bella. And for those who maybe aren't sure what

we're talking about, I don't know, maybe a month

ago or so. Greg had a special Skype spammer who

was very apt in getting him to some sort of website

with bunch of cams and whatnot so with the promise

of Lots of nudity. So well, there you go from

you or them. I mean, I guess that was never clear

Well from probably both I would guess I guess

that's the way you do it I don't I don't know

who would want to see me naked ever but okay

But I guess I'll read through for you guys. I

guess I'll do a girly voice when it's her or

him or whatever the hell was Skyping me. The

55 year old Asian guy who's really typing pretending

to be a young promising college co -ed. Yeah,

pretty much. But I'll do a girly voice. I'm sorry

to all women for the voice that I'm about to

attempt, and I'll do my normal voice for when

it's me, so I don't have to keep saying the name

every two seconds. Here we go. Hey! Fair enough,

well. Is that hey with three E's? No, it's spelled

normally. Hey! Hello. Hey, sweetie Hi, how are

you? I'm great, babe. How about yourself? Doing

pretty good. Is this big gay Al from South Park?

Yes Doing pretty good What are you up to? Hey,

thanks for adding me found your info in the Skype

members search smiley face 24 female you I am

29 male. I never knew there was a member search.

Well, I'm home for the summer from college trying

to get myself into trouble. Wink, laugh out loud.

Are you into college girls or cougars? That is

a question of the night really you just you should

just said cougars and shut her down, right? It's

okay my mom's here next to me I Didn't want to

cut her down too early. So I because I'm like,

oh this is gonna be great But but so far I think

she's been doing better than the other one And

then I went on with uh, oh, where do you go to

college? I'm into college girls, of course, of

course laugh out loud I'm recently single and

I really like chill drama -free guys who I can

show my little body off to laugh out loud. Promise

you won't record me if I show you? I wouldn't

record anything, but I feel like this would be

too good to be true and that a giant penis will

pop up on my screen. Yeah, that's great. Laugh

out loud. OK, one minute while I put something

cute, OK? Wait. OK. I feel like they would already

be ready for this, though. Right. Like, why are

they saying, let me go put this on? No, not nearly

enough preparation. Let me minimize this and

pull up the penis picture for you. That's really

what they mean. Let me go put my camisole on.

Again with the camisole? No, no, that was something

I just edited. Oh, okay. I go, okay. K, smiley

face. Go here, and it's another one of those

cammeetup .com sites that she sent me a link

to. Do you see my cam? It may just be my pic,

because you're not a member yet. Yeah, they have

a thing where you can do that on here. Not a

random site. Okay, yeah, just accept the invite

and it'll connect us smiley face I'm not going

to a site that I don't know. Oh, I think you

might have to fill out Everyone gets verified

as being real on here keeps the creepy people

away laugh out loud Wait, how do you verify on

creepy people? Creepy people are real, too That

doesn't stop someone from being creepy. Oh, you

actually exist. So you're clearly not a creepy

person unlike those My response was wow, so this

is company give you guys all scripts Excuse Towards

the the second part here. She's like talking

like the other person all of a sudden Okay, yeah,

I had to do the CC part to That how I got my

profile verified is real Kissy face. Did you

get in? I hate that question My response was

not even paying attention to what I'm writing

anymore, okay, let me know So I could send you

some private time loving kissy face My response

was Good stuff. Please come. I'm waiting. Smiley

face. Where do you want me to come? See you.

Wow. This is K. And then after the K, she really

wasn't responding as fast as she was before.

So I'm like, yeah, I'm not doing this. Sorry,

you're a spammer person. And then I waited for

a couple more minutes and I'm like, OK, bye,

spammer person. And I blocked him after that.

These people are just like they just they go

like pretty. Like a little bit of wiggle room

in there I think where they could kind of personalize

it a little bit But then they just go automatically

into this script Like that they stick to and

they don't even pay attention at all to what

you're right there Cuz like I seriously just

typed in gibberish. I just started tapping keys

like I'm playing a street fighter or something

and Please I'm waiting They must be run by the

same people that run Comcast. So what we're saying,

if you're going to spam someone, at least put

some effort in. Like, come on. They're on the

phone with their ears, and then they're just

typing the shit in. Like, they copy and paste

from their script and put it in. Wow. So that

was the tale of Pink Kitty. So that's exciting.

Pink Kitty, soft kitty, little ball of fur. Spammer

kitty, shut up kitty. Purr, purr, purr. So wow.

So interesting, interesting. As good as the last

time, if not better. Okay, no camisole this time

no camisole that would have been perfect though

because it's be like they're really trying to

push these camisoles it's like that is the thing

but We really need to write stuff down and prepare

next time for the next one You should maybe ask

them like are you gonna wear a camisole? I'm

really Yeah, or like get something from like

the Jehovah's Witness like playbook and to start

putting that in it's like Ask him if he can wear

snow pants and look parka. That really turns

me on. Speaking of that, Chuck, how's your week

been going? Well, not that good. Didn't do too

much this week. I was able to go to the local

county fair this past week with my girlfriend,

which is always fun. You know, you see a lot

of interesting people there. This is one that's.

Been one of my favorites since I was a kid. I've

pretty much gone like every year since I was

probably like five or something, but actually

got to go watch some tractor pulls. So that was

pretty cool. They were like the souped up tractors

that have like ridiculous amounts of horsepower

and they pour out tons and tons of black smoke

into the atmosphere. Nice. It's always good,

you know. But yeah, that was that was kind of

cool. Had some nice food. It's funny too because

they had a you know the building with like the

rabbits and different things all the animals

and they had like a Building for the poultry.

They had like all the chickens in there and everything

and then immediately next to that There was a

food stand selling like chicken products I wonder

where they get their supply Yeah, I got some

buffalo bites there and they were awesome. Of

course, you get the chicken really fresh. Yeah,

I mean, it was really, really fresh there. They

were probably killing it out back. Yeah, and

then I had had some homemade ice cream, which

is really good stuff. So it was a good time.

Yeah, I love fair food. Fair stuff. Great, great

food. How dare you, sir. I'm on a diet. I mean.

Sometimes we go for some rides. This particular

fair, like you have to pay extra for the ride.

So we didn't really do any. But honestly, I like

just going for the food and just kind of pigging

out. Nice, nice. Especially looking at the weird

people that are there, too. That's always fun.

Oh, yeah. There's a lot of. There's a lot of

animals there. Let's just put it that way. A

lot of pink kitties. A lot of farm animals and

some other animals too. It's bad when the farm

animals smell better than a lot of the people

there. They're nicer too. They're more polite.

A little bit more personality, you know? The

pigs and the sheep are friendlier, you know?

Yeah. See, I've not been doing much myself. Been

working a lot lately. I have a really random

thing though happen yesterday Something I found

out and that's uh, you know oven doors fall off

for no apparent reason We were cooking when we

were cooking and we went my wife went to open

the oven door and all I hear is this large bang

and all I see I walk in on the ground the oven

door is just like there and then part of like

the front of it and then like part of it with

like the Padding and stuff. It's just hanging

out and like it won't close So like I have to

hold it down we had food in there So I had to

hold it down with my one month in the oven mitt

like while she tried to get it out And it was

a very spring -loaded thing. So if I moved it

it would have like, you know Crushed her hands.

So dinner just got really difficult. So yeah

Apparently it just fell off for no apparent reason

we fixed it eventually but it was just like apparently

oven doors fall off That's the thing that happens

and the first thing that came to my mind was

like dumb and dumber when it's like our head

pets heads are falling off I'm like our oven

doors are falling off, but I don't know. That's

just me Yeah, yeah, but I haven't been able to

do much else Chuck have you been able to watch

anything anything of that nature? You know listen

I think I've heard you might actually read a

few things if I'm not mistaken Yeah. What? Doing

that whole reading thing. Yeah, I was able to

catch up on a little reading. Didn't really watch

anything this week, but I kind of forced myself

at night to either mute the TV or shut it off.

And I kind of cracked open some graphic novels

that I was that I've been meaning to read. So.

So the first one that I read was called The Annihilators.

Nice. I'm not sure if you guys are probably familiar

with the Annihilators. Did that come out right

after Annihilation, or is that something different?

Yes, it was actually after Annihilation Conquest.

OK. Obviously, Marvel. It's one of their cosmic

stories. This was actually a four issue mini

-series that explores the first mission of this

just awesome super team of some of Marvel's most

powerful characters. You have Ronan the Accuser,

who is in Guardians of the Galaxy movie, of course.

You have Quasar, you have Beta Ray Bill, Gladiator,

and the Silver Surfer. Wow, that's a stacked

team. Yeah, it really is. And that's one of the

things that intrigues me about it, just seeing

those characters together, because they're, I

mean, Silver Surfer and Gladiator are like two

of my favorite characters anyway. But it's also

written by Dan Abnett, who wrote that spectacular

Nova series that we talked about a few weeks

ago, where Richard Ryder becomes the Nova Prime.

He wrote a little bit for Guardians and stuff

like that. But yeah, this story picks up just

after the team formed in the wake of the Annihilation

Conquest, and they actually formed in a one -shot.

from the Thanos Imperative story. It was called

Devastation was the name of the one shot. But

the idea for this team was actually that of Star

-Lord before he seemingly died at the end of

the last war. His thinking was that the universe

just barely survived two massive space wars in

Annihilation and Annihilation Conquest. and it

really weakened the fabric of space and time

and he didn't think the universe could honestly

handle a third event so he basically wanted a

first responder team filled with some like real

heavy hitters that would just stop any sort of

evil schemes right in their tracks and Nova actually

helps put the team together but he says that

he can't join because he has Is it he has a better

team to hang out with so it's like guys are cool

and all but I got this whole Nova corp thing

I gotta I gotta go hang out with power pack But

yeah, he's got you know other duties to attend

to protecting the universe and all this other

stuff But which is unfortunate because I really

would like to see him on that team because he's

another powerful character I think he kind of

teams up with them Later on down the road, but

not in this story But essentially the team fulfills

their purpose in this very first mission. They

have another member join which is Icon, a Galladorian

space knight, which Star -Lord wanted the space

knights to be represented on the Annihilators

because they're such great warriors and this

Icon is actually female and she's like the greatest

living space knight that's Remains, you know,

like a lot of the other great ones are killed

off and everything and So she has like this suit

of armor and stuff and that kind of gives her

her power and they've been trained since they

were young to find weaknesses and their enemies

and all this stuff, so there's a little bit of

confrontation the beginning where she kind of

like gets in a fight with the other ones and

You know, they're obviously holding back and

stuff because they don't want to hurt her but

she kind of like embarrasses them with their

fighting skills, which is pretty cool. So they

end up hearing about some activity and. You have

a bad guy by the name of Dr. Dredd who shows

up, not Dr. Dre, but forgot about him. He he

shows up and he's got a plan to release the imprisoned

race called the Dire Race, who are like diarrhea.

Yeah. Surprisingly, though, these are scarier.

They don't live in a bucket. But the Dire Wraiths,

they're the eternal enemies of the Space Knights

who Icon is a part of. And right now, the Dire

Wraiths, their home planet is called Wraith World.

The whole planet is in limbo. They were imprisoned

there many, many years ago. And they have like

this sorcery that's powered by the rays of a

black sun. Don't know whatever but uh, the black

Sun is kept shielded by a dark nebula So, you

know, let's just keep making stuff up Square

Suns and then It works I just go with it it's

not important. Sorry part of the story, but that

was kind of funny, but um Dread actually like

tears open the sky and like releases this black

Sun and it it's wreaking havoc on the solar system

and it's kind of starts to like Fuse with the

other Sun because they have like, you know, two

immense stars with like their own gravity and

everything so and since the Wraith world planet

is in limbo and the black Sun is now Unleashed

things are like way out of balance apparently

like this cosmic balance in the solar system

So they determine they have to bring Wraith world

out of limbo and back into the actual reality

and They end up like accomplishing this and defeating

dread And Ronan defeats dread which is pretty

cool. He just basically smacks him with his universal

weapon Which is cool because he had like a power

uh he had like kind of a force field around him

that would like cut through anything you know

i smacked pink kitty with my power weapon oh

god it created a black numbula i did we went

we went to the number two hole oh oh it's like

no coming up from that one she belongs in limbo

but yeah the uh Dread had this really cool power

of the force field around that would cut through

anything and he actually cut Like the silver

surfer went to grab him or something. He actually

cut the silver surfers hand Which it doesn't

matter because he could like grow it back, but

it was like wow, like, you know, how could you?

do that to the silver surfer, you know, but and

he pretty much like kicks all their butts, but

because they can't touch him but Ronan. It was

actually MC Hammer posing as Dr. Dredd. Well,

Dr. Dredd's mortal enemy, MC Hammer, which is

really Ronan. He just changed his name after

the 90s. Ronan's universal weapon can like has

the power to like, you know, transmute properties

and all these things. So it was there was something

to do with like he couldn't use the same power

against him. So. The guy's force field was, like,

ineffective. I mean, ineffective. And he just

cracked him over the head with it. And he's like,

yeah, it's also a giant hammer, which is a pretty

funny line. But so they they defeat Dredd and

they they managed to bring Wraith World back

into reality. And they run into some crazy characters

in there. I'll leave that to anyone that wants

to read it. But basically like this this dark

magic that is. Unleashed starts tearing things

apart somehow and the they find the black Sun

is like consuming the regular Sun And if they

don't stop it, it's gonna go supernova and bye

-bye solar system so they have Ronan with his

universal weapon quasar as the backup power source

and Silver surfer with his cosmic awareness and

power cosmic they actually fuse the two sons

together And one side is black and one side is

normal. And they balance it out so the two planets

coexist on opposite sides of the sun. Ebony normal.

I forget how I don't know how the Michael Jackson,

Ebony and Ivory goes. So that's all you get people.

Sorry. More and more. So so apparently that's

a thing you could merge two sons What one side

will stay black and one side will stay regular,

you know, and then and planets of course stay

on You know, they stay on that side as as they

revolve around the Sun and as the Sun spins So

it's like one of those cookies you get from like

the you know with the black and white cookies

Just they're the same same principles. Yeah,

you know if they if they had little tiny things

orbiting them Yeah, equally delicious Well, you

gotta love comic books that are also a science

lesson. Yeah. And cookies. Did I mention I'm

on a diet? We can tell. But yeah, it's a bit

of a crazy story. But I just love the idea of

seeing these characters on the team. Like, you

know, Dan Abnett is a great writer. So there's

some good chemistry with the characters and a

little of that comedy that we saw from him and

his other series like Nova and Guardians and

stuff like that. The whole this whole story is

narrated by Morgan Freeman. No. Damn. You get

one with every purchase. It's like every time

you buy it, like, here's your Morgan Freeman

to narrate the story. You put the cassette tape

in and play along while you read. No, but it's

narrated from the point of view of Quasar. And

he keeps saying how, you know, he lost his confidence.

in the Annihilation Wars and he doesn't think

he belongs on this team with all these other

heavy hitters, but by the end when he kind of

proves himself helping defuse the two suns, he

has his confidence back and, you know, everybody's

happy. But it's it's an interesting read if you're

really into the cosmic stuff. It's not a terrific

story. Like it's not awesome, but I think the

idea of the team is awesome. I just like seeing

them work together. There's so much potential

there. And there's another story after this called

Annihilator's Earthfall that I will be picking

up as soon as I find it. So kind of excited for

that. But very cool. Very cool. So then I had

another book that I read that's kind of related

to that. It's another cosmic story. And this

is actually It's a new book. It's an original

graphic novel Yes, they still make those. Oh

It's not like a Reprinting from comic issues

or individual issues or anything. This is an

original graphic novel. It's its own story It's

called Thanos the Infinity Revelation Interesting,

of course by Jim Starlin the master of Thanos

Thanos has no master True. He does have a creator,

though, and that's Jim Starlin. There we go.

That's better. Yeah. This honestly, I can't speak

as highly of this. I had a lot of high expectations

for this book because I love Starlin as a writer

and everything. But this story is like super

confusing. I don't know what the hell was going

on through this whole thing. It's basically like

Thanos goes to. like the realm of death because

he wants to use the infinity well again which

it's like this thing that he gazes into to gain

knowledge that's how he found out about the infinity

gems in the infinity gauntlet story and you know

she comes and basically says you're not welcome

here and she sends one of her guards after him

and Thanos like freaking destroys him and uh

basically says like i'll leave when i'm good

and ready and uh so he finds out about this object

and he says that you know something is out of

balance in the universe and he can feel it with

him and so when he leaves death's realm she makes

him take this like entity with him and says that

he doesn't belong there and he kind of comes

back to life and you find out that's adam warlock

and uh you know they both agree that things are

out of balance and everything and Silver Surfer

makes an appearance and you have the Guardians

of the Galaxy are in there for a couple of pages

very briefly but it gets it gets very very confusing

because they they go into like the really high

level cosmic characters like infinity and eternity

in the living tribunal and there's this whole

thing Thanos and warlock went into this other

dimension and I Can't even explain it. It's just

so convoluted. Like I was really kind of disappointed

in the story. I mean it was It was interesting

just for the fact of seeing Thanos and Warlock

interact. It's one of the things I really enjoy

about Jim Starlin's writing is how he how he

writes Thanos dialogue and basically just how

how badass he is and like just how he speaks

to people and he just demands respect and attention.

And I really like the interaction of him with

the other characters and how he talks to them.

And one of the cool things was that I wanted

to mention it. Today is because the annihilators

make an appearance in this book I was gonna ask

if that's a recent story if that was like way

back when Yeah, this this just came out like

maybe two three weeks ago. Oh Yeah, I had a pre

-ordered and had it came in so but and since

I was still in my cosmic kick from the Guardians

of the Galaxy movie I was still in the mood to

read that stuff. So but yeah, the annihilators

actually make an appearance in this and Thanos

kicks the crap out of him. Interesting. Surprisingly.

And it's really interesting, too, that the one

he's worried about the most is Gladiator. And

he makes the comment to Warlock that I think

Silver Surfer wasn't there yet, though, but it

was like Gladiator, Beta Ray Bill, Quasar and

Ronin. And Thanos said Gladiator is easily the

most formidable one here. So he kind of Thanos

kind of chickens out here. and opens up this

portal and teleports Gladiator 200 light years

away. Oh, wow. Because he I'm guessing he really

doesn't want to fight him, which I thought was

really interesting. That's that's kind of cool.

That's really given a lot of respect to Gladiator

there that Thanos really doesn't want to fight

him. Thanos then proceeds to like kick the crap

out of Beta Ray Bill and Ronin. Then with like

Quasar, Adam Warlock steps in. and kind of like

uh just absorbs from some power from him to like

knock him out because he's afraid thanos would

kill him and then uh silver surfer shows up and

warlock kind of does the same thing because he

he doesn't want thanos to like uh become enraged

and like kill them or anything so that was pretty

interesting but that was probably the highlight

of the book actually the confrontation with the

annihilators because then after that things just

get really really confusing i got lost I honestly

don't think it's some of Starland's best work.

I was a little disappointed with it, but I suppose

if you're really a diehard Thanos fan or cosmic,

which you are. Yeah. Yeah. If you're me, you

know, you might, you know, you might get a kick

out of it, but it's, yeah, it's cool. I mean,

I got a little discounted because I pre -ordered

it. So I got it maybe like $10 cheaper than cover

price, but yeah, that's actually a pretty good

deal. So yeah. Yeah. I like pre -order and stuff

because especially in Amazon, like you throw

it in your wish list and then you kind of check

back periodically. Sometimes the price is lower.

Yeah. You know, they automatically do that for

you if you pre -ordered it, right? Well, yeah,

yeah. On a pre -order stuff, they do. Yeah. But

other stuff that's been out a while, if you leave

it in your wish list, yeah, sometimes you can

catch it a really low price. But yeah, the pre

-order, you're right. It does give a price guarantee

that. The lowest point that it hits it will give

you that price after you pre -order it and that's

how I get a really good deal on the infinity

gauntlet omnibus and everything like that, but

But yeah, I was I would say skip this one unless

you're like absolute die -hard Thanos fan or

something But the story is like very convoluted

and confusing Even me liking that stuff as much

as I do. I didn't really care for it. So that's

disappointing But I guess sometimes that happens

when you have someone who comes back to a character

that he hasn't done in a while. It tends to not

go well. Thinking like Frank Miller with the

Dark Knight Returns sequel that was... Yeah.

I'm just... I'm sick of the destroying reality

and recreating it and yeah, it's like and it

happens like twice in this book I'm like, I think

we're going a little bit overboard here I mean,

yeah, it's only so many times you can like restart

it eventually you start breaking it. So yeah,

I mean I like getting into the smaller Details

of it and stuff anymore. Like like I said the

confrontation with the annihilators was the coolest

part for me I thought that was awesome. So All

righty, I did watch one thing it is comic book

related and it's the latest DC animated movie

Batman assault on Arkham Yeah, and what's interesting

it takes place in the same universe as the Arkham

games apparently Which I've only played a little

bit of the first one I haven't played Arkham

City or the other one the Arkham origins or what

have you so I do wonder though like if having

some of that knowledge would make this a better

movie not that it's a bad movie, but i'm certainly

there are certain tie -ins because I couldn't

really place it in which the continuity of that

story because it's The idea behind it is it's

actually not a batman -centered movie But they

just throw batman and the title because it'll

sell more copies that way. It's actually centered

on the suicide squad and For those who don't

know that's like amanda waller's government team

where she gets villains Characters and after

kidnapping them or you know arresting them she

implants bombs in them and forces them to do

her Dirty work just like we did with the action

hero draft. So it was kind of like The the Thunderbolt

storyline during the the Civil War where they

had Nano bots put in them exactly They actually

did a cool thing with that on the arrow TV show

too. They had the suicide squad on there Yeah,

and the what she needs them to do is the character

of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, I think Killer Shark,

Boomerang, Captain Boomerang, I think his name

is, I forget, this guy with the boomerangs. Some

other tarantula or something like that. It's

a character I think I've never seen before. Deadshot's

kind of like the lead, really. And I always confuse

Deadshot and Deathlock. Those two always confuse

me, like who's who. You mean Deathstroke? See,

I did it again. Yeah, Deathstroke and Deadshot.

I always confuse it because they have similar

looks. And so Deadshot's the guy with the red

eye. Yeah, I always remember it. And the idea

is like Amanda Waller needs them to break into

Arkham. And the Riddler has some certain certain

secret file that she needs them to get in without,

you know, anyone noticing or anything like that.

So they have to break in. And Batman actually

is more of a tertiary character for the majority

of it. Kind of just like showing up in the background

here and there. And by the way kids tertiary,

it's your word of the day Yeah, please god not

have kids after some of the stuff we talked about

earlier Anyways, but so they have to break break

in the Arkham and all that stuff and Batman does

become more and more of a character in this story

as it as it goes on and I think that was actually

a mistake because it feels like it was really

pigeonholed and I did overall like it but I think

that I would rather spend more time with a suicide

squad because I think I'm almost Batman out at

this point. Like I think DC has done as much

as they can with them when it comes to animated

movies. And then they have all these interesting

characters they could have done more with. And

it was overall well done. But I think what they

did is they didn't know how to make the suicide

squad into like sympathetic characters you would

root for. They try to give Deadshot this story

of him having a daughter. And like you see him,

he has a photo of her and they always show that

every so often. And he's supposed to be like

the anti -hero per se in this, but it doesn't

really work all that well. If like one moment

you're having him like, you know, feel bad about

his daughter. And then two seconds later, like

shooting down unarmed police officers. It's just

like, I don't, him having a daughter doesn't

work there. So trying to make him sympathetic

in that way is an effective based upon his -

If anything, I think they should have even have

tried that approach and just made them who they

are and it just more so played against the villain

angle. One thing too, it's probably the most

violent DC animated movie to date. A lot of head

explosions, actual, you know, sexual intercourse

and this, not like graphically, but it certainly

happens. I'm awake now what? Let's just say Harley

Quinn gets down. By the way, I highly recommend

her new series that's going on in the comic book

world. I've heard good things. We've had a few

reviews on Geekcast Radio, someone's doing those.

But yeah, because she's kind of crazy, and she's

a thing for a dead shot, and that kind of becomes

a thing. There's a lot of great comedy I would

say especially with killer shark and and whatnot

and the Joker ends up showing up, too I do think

though like there are some rather big twist in

it, but the twists are so obvious and They're

ones that have been done before you can kind

of see it coming like when they're supposed to

be like oh batman is i don't want to ruin it

but there's certain things happen with batman

and you can tell that's not that's not going

to be the case but so that that was a little

disappointing but overall it was good the action

was was nice it was tight tightly paced it never

really let up uh like i said the characters are

really strong of most of the suicide squad so

i would put it like in the middle upper middle

range of the dc animated stuff not nearly as

good as something like red hood or the dark knight

returns but i'd say i enjoyed it more than like

batman year one or the last dc animated movie

which was like justice league war or whatever

um, it's just I just i'm just Wishing that they

could kind of break away from just doing batman

or superman and do something new And I think

they tried they just didn't go all the way with

it. So And it also does not like harley quinn.

They didn't go all the way exactly exactly And

it just though it takes place in the batman arkham

asylum game world. It doesn't seem like that

at all like The characters designs or anything

like that. They don't seem like they belong there

all that much in certain occasions Yes, but they

have more of a slickness. They don't have that

grittiness of Arkham Asylum games. So Maybe just

because it's it's not 3d animated that made it

seem that way but I would recommend it definitely

but Not not one that I think is gonna go down

as like one of their best Yeah, I got to agree

with you that they do have a lot of interesting

characters not named Batman and Superman and

They you know, they could really benefit from

even doing a movie with like focusing on Deathstroke

and green arrow or something like that I mean,

yeah Deathstroke's a really interesting villain.

So I think what happens is they don't nearly

sell as well I think that's issue like Flashpoint

Paradox, I think, which I thought was really

good as one of my favorite ones. Yeah, that was

good. That one didn't sell as well, I don't think.

And like the Green Arrow one didn't. But I think

that was hurt by the fact that Green Arrow movie

was out around the same time and people were

like, oh, Green Arrow. But yeah. So yeah, I guess

what they're doing now is that they're doing

one in the new 52 universe and then like another

one. So. I don't know what their next one's going

to be. Well, maybe with The Rock being in a Shazam

movie now, maybe that brings a little more light

to that character and some of his villains. Yeah,

very true, very true. So we don't really know

if he's playing Shazam or Black Adam yet. I would

assume Black Adam, but you never know. Yeah.

Maybe he'll do both. Maybe. The Rock, he could

pull it off, I'm sure. Pull a little Eddie Murphy

there and play multiple characters in a movie.

And I play like Shazam's like old grandmother

or something too, just to add all together. Hercules,

Hercules, I mean Shazam, Shazam, Shazam. Every

time she says it, he becomes that like. Stop

doing that. Stop saying Shazam. It's starting

to hurt. Grandma. All right, Greg, how about

yourself? I know with all these Skype spammers,

it might be difficult to actually watch anything,

but did you have the chance? I know I'm so beloved

by the Skype spammers. If only that actually

happened in real life with actual women. Someone

walking up to you is like, hey, hey, I'm a 24

female. You, well. Thought the whole female male

thing was obvious, but And she's like, well,

I'm gonna get naked you want to watch and be

like sure just don't just don't tate me. Okay

Here's this address go down this alley. It's

like It's okay, I don't think I want to do this

now push the third brick on the wall on the right

They always ask for a password so they can verify

you're not a creepy person You can't tell that

just by looking at me. What we're saying is this

should be a skip. Make it happen. But I kind

of lied on another podcast by saying that I was

going to wait for another season of Game of Thrones

to go on sale before I watched it. Well, first

I thought it hurt because I thought you were

on another podcast that wasn't this podcast.

I'm like, great, Greg is doing another podcast.

No, I don't this is the only podcast I do people

I figure I'm annoying enough on one podcast,

but I I actually picked up the second and third

season I didn't get around to watching the third

season yet. Calm down people. Calm down Just

watch the second season and right now I'm going

through the the special features Second by the

way Game of Thrones. Okay, I never said it. I'm

sorry I was I was too excited to talk about Amelia

Clark as Khaleesi But I thought it was really

good. I didn't think there was any downgrade

between season one and season two. I thought

it got a lot better. And even towards the end,

it got a little bit more of a battle than going

in the first one. And from the special features

that I did get a chance to watch, it was mostly

a money thing. They kind of read about this in

the book. the scene in the books and they really

wanted to do it so they kind of backed off through

the rest of the season to use most of their um

their budget for this ending part and I thought

it was Really successful and interesting of the

battle of the I forget what it's called the the

something Bay the black something Bay Yeah, that's

a yeah, that's a very good episode. Yes. It is

I liked the hounds reactions to the to the battle

and what goes down because of that scenario,

because it's quite surprising for his character.

But by looking at him, it's not really that surprising.

And I think the King What's his name? I'm terrible.

Yes Joffrey. I'm terrible at the names of these

people cuz King douchebag Yeah Joffrey should

have been an easy one for me But most of the

names are a little bit weird and I get confused

about the characters They're more like a trillion

of them and they keep introducing. Yeah, it's

like so great another new character Yeah, but

they did introduce Joffrey became becomes more

of an asshole just to wrap up that thought but

uh They did introduce a new character into the

show that I'm excited about to see what happens

with this character in Season 3. They kind of

leave at the end of Season 2, and he wasn't in

Season 2 that much, but he was pretty awesome,

and I don't really remember his name, so... What

did he do? Would he be Peter Jake Lynch's or...?

No, it's the little Stark girls. Teacher? No,

not teacher. Kind of he gave her like three wishes

kind of I don't want to give away too much. Okay.

I understand Yeah, you'll I I don't want to say

too much. But yeah I would just check it out

for him, because he does some pretty awesome

stuff. And I think Chuck would really like his

character, because he's kind of a badass. Even

though he's kind of a terrible person, I guess.

He's still kind of a badass. Everyone in Game

of Thrones is kind of a terrible person, almost.

Well. Khaleesi to me isn't a terrible person,

but I'm not sure if that's because I have a crush

on Emilia Clarke. She could be stabbing a kitty.

She seems fine. It's like I don't understand

what's... But like the stuff that she does, it's

got kind of a validation. She has reasons, like

really good reasons to it, like people screwing

her over and she kind of really gets screwed

over at the end of this one. But you can still

see that she's still learning and everything.

like her, her advisor that kind of has a crush

on her. I just think he's a great actor and I

really like his, his voice and his appearance,

not appearance, but his, um, how he handles himself

kind of. And then Peter Dinklage's character

is just awesome. And I, I hope nothing happens

to his. They're, they're married, right? Him

and that, that girl, they're married. The, the

prostitute. Yeah, the prostitute, yeah. Yeah,

I don't want to say what will happen. Okay, well,

don't, because I still have season three here

to watch and I'm so afraid of... Telling something

that I shouldn't for people that trying to be

spoiler free here people. It's really tough I

will say though like Khaleesi I think has probably

my favorite character arc of all the different

characters like where she goes from the beginning

and where she is now It's just it's yeah, like

her journey is pretty incredible to witness.

Yeah, you could see her like climbing up the

charts, like they kind of set her off on this

own little island to help her kind of build herself

away from these other people that are just so

powerful, all these different kings coming together.

And that's my only thing is there's so many characters

coming in and so many kings. How does this line

up? That's my only problem with it is trying

to figure out who's who with the Neogzu. I'm

pretty sure that's a saying just around here

because there is an actual thing around here

called a New York Zoo around Scranton. At least

there used to be. Yeah, it used to be like twice.

But I liked Peter Dinklage's character. I like

his wife, I guess I'll call her character and

his bodyguard for the most part is enjoyable.

That's who I thought when you said a new character,

I thought you meant his bodyguard. Yeah, he showed

up in the towards the end of season one. I didn't

enjoy him there I can't remember when people

show up and when they it's it. It's alright Dan

because it it's a lot to take in yeah with these

with these shows, but it's so good and it's it's

such a highly developed world that you just get

sucked in like I did instead of waiting for it

to go on sale, just buying it straight out now.

I keep watching it while some of my Twitter followers,

the very few that I have, might know that I keep

trying to write a novel along with writing Unknown,

which there is another episode at the end of

this one. So I watch while I'm writing so I may

miss a lot of stuff and I swear I had a question

for you about it and I'm not coming up with it

at this moment Dan. I will say one benefit of

watching it as it like airs is that it does the

previously on section where it will like highlight

a certain character that maybe you haven't seen

in a while so it's like okay so here's a scene

you're probably gonna remember from season two

because it might take place and it might have

a ramifications in this episode so yeah. Does

it? Yeah, that's always helpful. They do that

in a lot of shows. And I've always really found

that helpful. Maybe once I got them all again,

maybe I'll go through again. Here's a question

for you, Dan. I'm trying to I'm trying to sell

this show to my parents because I think they

would find it interesting. But the way I keep

describing it. it doesn't fit their category

of likes because my mom's not really into fantasy

and she's not into stuff that is really gory

because any any movie that's kind of gory like

in Braveheart where they killed that horse she

calls those like movies like that kitchen movies

uh six because she'll go hide in the kitchen

during that's awesome well not awesome but that's

a good thing So they're kitchen movies, but uh,

how would you sell this movie or the show to

somebody else? I know I To sell it to my dad.

I just have to say there's a lot of hot naked

women But I feel creepy saying that to him I

know yes me would feel creepy saying something

perverted to somebody but that makes me feel

creepy I mean, it's it's a hard sell because

it's it is a little bit niche. I mean, I guess

you'd say if it's a The thing to sell on it and

how it has some of the best character development

and it's just It's like watching did they like

lord of the ring? I guess not lord of the rings

since fantasies My dad watched lord of the rings

with me. I think he found it a little bit boring

And since no offense to anybody that likes Lord

of the Rings, I have the first trilogy myself.

But I found them just a little bit boring and

a little bit long and winded. And so did he.

But I really enjoyed Game of Thrones. Like, I

think it's better. It's a little bit more action

packed. There's more to do with the characters

and everything. I think there's just a lot more

going on because it's you have a TV show and

it's more tightly packed because You're you know,

you have that 45 minutes or 50 minutes of a show

to do. I mean I don't know. I guess the the best

way to sell it would be like I don't know. That's

a good question, huh? Show it to them. I mean,

I would honestly I think that's it's one of those

shows where it's like you just kind of have to

sit down and watch it and force them. Yeah, be

like this is Maybe say it's like something you

just have to experience, you know, some of them

not like, you know, it's Maybe underplay it so

they'd I don't know I think that's just to show

you either you got to kind of watch and and see

because I know a lot of people who aren't in

the fantasy or aren't into the whole towards

sorcery like Carol doesn't like Lord of the Rings

either who's my wife, but she likes game of Thrones

Lord of the Rings is your wife. Yes, it is. Yes

the entire cast One ring they rule them all One

day and to rule them all but are you are you

her precious? Depends on the day One talking

in circle to rule them all but yeah, so it It's

like Lord of the Rings, but more real world maybe

because it's not the fantasy is very light I

would say yeah, and it started to come more into

play towards the end of the second season especially

with that new character I was talking about and

of course the Triplets that Khaleesi has yeah

Now you just have to watch the South Park episode

where they parody Lord of the Rings, but Game

of Thrones. It is amazing. It is fantastic. You

can't almost not watch the show the same way

anymore, but South Park got their best. i'll

have to watch it because i i do enjoy south park

but like everything that's on tv i forget when

it's on like i've i've only i've only watched

one episode of the strain but i still want to

see more so but uh disappointed with that oh

dan don't say that at least i had the books at

least i had the books but uh to wrap up on that

uh because i really didn't give too much information

but that's because i wanted to be spoiler free

But to wrap up, second season is really good,

guys. If you haven't been watching Game of Thrones,

I highly recommend checking it out. I just handed

over season one to my brother and his fiance,

so they're going to get into that. And fun thing

about my brother's girlfriend, though, is she

will talk about chicks with me. And I'm pretty

sure she has a crush on Selena Gomez, which is

kind of weird, but fun and funny to talk to her

about. I've also got that going on, so I can't

wait to start a similar crush with Amelia Clarke

with her. Wow, there you go. Very interesting.

All right, so we're going to take a quick break.

And when we come back, we'll be getting into

something completely different as we talk about

those heroes in the half shell, those turtle

powers themselves, the Teenage Mutant Ninja alien

turtles. So we'll see in a bit. Returning for

and welcome back in a few weeks ago the new Teenage

Mutant Ninja Turtles came out and we're thinking

today since it's been some time and like all

the Craziness and all the hub hubbub of that

movie is died down. We'll actually get into some

turtle talk You know, I know we do have a we

do have a turtle based podcast syndicated and

key cash radio turtle flakes Which is if you

have not listened to not do that But we're just

gonna get into a little bit and just kind of

starting going into the Ninja Turtles. Like,

where was our fandom? Did we like it as kids?

Is it something we didn't really get into? Was

it something we sustained as adults? So I guess

Greg, maybe I'll start with you. I know we all

grew up around the same time, so were you into

Turtles? Because I know it was that. phenomenon

and I believe it was one of your favorite cartoons

of all time. So I'm assuming the answer is yes.

Yeah, I was into it pretty hard. I had the battle

wagon or the party wagon and I had a bunch of

the action figures. I always wanted the party

wagon. I never got that. I didn't. I got it when

I was older and I stopped playing with them.

I was like, I forget. I was like in the X -Men

toys, but it was at the flea market and I'm like,

I wanted this before buying it now and I'm just

going to use it with my X -Men characters. Well

the bad thing about that is eventually my parents

kind of threw it away without even asking me

so it's it's gone now unfortunately so are the

action figures yeah it I wasn't too happy about

that but um yeah I was really into I used to

watch the cartoon all the time and just recently

I have been keeping up with it I I just got one

of the DVD collections of it and watched that

and I really need to get get more of those too

because it was it was good stuff and I enjoyed

watching it again and I really enjoyed that YouTube

movie that uh turtles forever that chuck told

us was on youtube so uh big props to chuck for

for showing us that but yeah i i love the turtles

so never used and i never used to read the comic

i i didn't even know the comic existed back then

so yeah i don't think i think we're too young

for that so we you this is something you sustained

or did you kind of You forget about it and move

on to other stuff. Well, there's a middle section

there where like it wasn't really too popular

anymore. So I can't move down to. Yeah. You move

on to other stuff, but I definitely. If there

was something out with turtles I'd watch it and

whatever and it never used to it never was really

my Turtles anymore the turtles that I used to

watch so I kind of grew out of a little bit,

but I'm I'm still very nostalgic about My turtles

the classic very nice Chuck. How about yourself?

Yeah, I was a huge turtle fan when they came

out. I remember uh, I was probably like maybe

four five years old something like that and I

got like You know all the turtles action figures

like the four turtles and splinter and you know

bebop and rocksteady and you know foot soldier

and all that stuff like I had like a ton of them

and I still do have them. Thankfully you're gonna

have to post those on Facebook for everybody.

Yeah Unfortunately my I remember the arm on my

Donatello broke off, but I had to crazy glue

it back on. How dare you? He could have just

used it as a bow. Yeah, just use his arms as

a bow. It's the arms glued on, but it's stationary.

It doesn't it doesn't move or anything. So poor

guy can't pick up a piece of pizza. Yeah. So,

yeah, you know, like I said, I never got the

party wagon, which I always wanted. And you guys

remember the sewer playset? Oh, yes, I do. I

didn't have that. I always wanted that, too.

When I was a kid, I remember one time in kindergarten,

I had like a playdate with one of the kids that

I went to kindergarten with. And he had it. And

I was like, he had like all the cool toys. He

had the big sphere thing, like the crane, the

technodrome. Yeah, the technodrome. I'm like,

oh wow. That's like the first time as a kid.

I knew what being jealous was like Sounds almost

exactly like Ming Chen from Comic book men. He

was hanging out with some kid and he had the

drone I said as a kid, but but but he went over

his house and played with the kid and he had

it and then. So again, not as sorry. And like

he was over the kid's house and the parents of

that kid split up. And so the one day they had

it thrown out randomly after the split up. And

so Ming took it and started playing with it.

and apparently the kid found out that he had

it and wanted it back. So the parents came over

and told Ming's parents that he had to give it

up and everything and he did. He was so pissed

off. Of course, you know, I grew up in that time

as well and I was hugely into the Ninja Turtles.

I also, like I said, didn't have the party wagon

until later. I had a lot of the turtles. I think

actually my favorite character wasn't even a

turtle. It was... The rabbit guy, I forget his

name, but Saki Ujimbo. Yeah. Yeah. He was actually

has his own comic book. Yeah. Which is Japanese

for a rabbit bodyguard, I think. Well, Ujimbo

is also a Kurosawa film, which we talked about

earlier. Jimbo. Yeah, it's the word for the word

for bodyguard. But yeah, so I do I grew up with

a lot of those toys I forget which ones I had

but I had I had a good amount I just loved how

they came with those weapons that you would like

They were in the plastic thing and you would

take them out and they would all have the different

weapons that you could play them Oh, yeah, you'd

lose them in like two seconds. Oh, yeah. Oh definitely

then you then there was uh, was there baxter

stockman and leather head and The duck guy remember

the duck guy Wasn't there a right well he stuck

he had the he was like a pilot and he wore the

The brown bomber jacket. Yeah, it's speaking

of a guy in a brown bomber jacket. Did any of

you that sounded perverted and Crappy, did any

of you guys have the turtle jet that spat out

bubbles? No I had that. I think I still had it

around. Like the blimp thing? Like the glider?

No, it's not a blimp. It was a fighter jet. Oh,

really? Yeah, and it would like... I know they

made like a thing that it was like that glider

thing and the the blimp part could like attach

to the top of it or whatever. No, it wasn't that

it was it was a fighter jet it was white and

had like a green nose cone and like decals that

you could put on it and You like it had a little

hand like a gun underneath it had a little Handle

and then you could hit the trigger and it would

push out a bubble With that would fill up with

smoke and then when it dropped on the ground

the bubble would explode and smoke would come

up Like a little toxic bubble type of thing Had

that as well guessing that got pulled from the

shelves this cost a lot of issues But now I did

not have that I did have that one turtle that

was like a robot or whatever. Oh, yeah But yeah,

so I think that's too like that was a big thing,

you know, there was a cartoon meant to sell toys

and it was succeeded very successful the 90s

movies which were a huge hit. Oh, yeah and I

never saw them in theaters because I didn't really

go to the theaters as a kid. But they were huge.

It's surprising from you, Dan. Which is probably

why I go so much now. It's because I wasn't allowed

to as a kid. So. But yeah, those were huge. The

movies were gigantic. And I think even as a kid,

the second one, I think, was even more of a hit

with me. I just remember the first scene with

them in the in the store. You know, Michelangelo

with like the yo -yo and all that was like under

like in the ground somewhere. Yeah, it opens

with them all eating pizza and whatnot. So, yeah.

Definitely. The random Asian guy started hanging

out with them. Yeah. Kino or whatever. Yeah.

He was in one of the suits in the first one.

So they kept him. Yeah. And he was also in Surf

Ninjas, that classic film. But yeah, so I it

was huge and I kind of obviously it died down

like we mentioned, you know other things came

power rangers and x -men and I remember in 2003

like that was our year we graduated from high

school, but that's when like that new cartoon

came out and I I try to watch it and It was you

know, like you said Greg. It wasn't our turtles.

It was a little bit more Updated not as not comedic.

It was taken more seriously. I guess more towards

the comic tone Did you did either of you guys

watch the um? the 90s TV show that was real life,

kind of like like the movies. Gosh, was that

the next mutation? Yeah, the one where they have

a girl turtle. I didn't. But it's on Netflix.

It is on Netflix. It's unwatchable, Dan. I watched

a couple episodes and it was completely unwatchable.

I believe that. They they couldn't get the costuming

to be uh cost -effective So they look awful Well,

I remember watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

3. I think that's the first time as a kid. I

found out what a bad movie was Because I remember

watching it and just being like something feels

wrong and I don't know what it is It's like oh

just like this this is the turtles it should

be good and it's Don't know. I don't understand

it because as a kid, you know, you love everything

and it was just like it doesn't I don't know

I mean there's some fun stuff with it seeing

them in samurai gear was kind of I will say Hopefully

doesn't cause too much of a stir. I went back

and I watched the first Turtles, which is movie

I remember loving even like later and for whatever

reason I don't know maybe I was not in the right

mindset, but it just it did not it did not work

for me the first film I just was just like I

don't why don't I like this more and I was a

little I was like I did a review on letterbox.

I'm like, I don't know. I never believed in Santa

as a kid. But like, I kind of know what that

feels like now because I thought I liked this

movie and I didn't. And it feels like I'm betraying

my childhood. So it feels really I got it. And

I got some slack on Twitter and letterbox from

people saying, like, how can I not like it? And

I don't know. Maybe I'll go back and rewatch

it. And after watching the latest Turtles film,

which we'll get to in a second. But have you

guys rewatched any of the Turtles films recently

at all? I go through them every couple of years.

I put them in or seeing it on TV. It holds up

for me for the most part. Hasn't really lost

anything, to be quite honest for me. How about

you, Chuck? Yeah, I pop them in from time to

time and I still love them. They still have the

same sense of magic for me. Like you said, they

hold up really well for me. I think I like the

first one better. I know Dan you said the like

the second one a little bit better, but I think

as a kid as an adult I do think the first one's

better. Yeah I guess maybe it's just maybe it's

just that magic and I'm reliving it from my childhood

and stuff, but I don't know it still works for

me it's that sense of wonder and it's I get all

giddy and stuff and Everything when I'm watching

it. So it's yeah, I still enjoy them. Yeah, I

mean it might have just been a bad day I don't

know but I like Greg you mentioned I really did

enjoy the turtles forever cartoon and it has

me wanting to go back and watch like to the 2003

version of it, which I didn't like at the time

but Something about the what in the turtle in

the framework of that movie. I really did enjoy

it But um have any of you watched like the newer

one that's came out in last few years. It's kind

of In between it's the other. Yeah, I've watched

like an episode or two and I thought it was actually

pretty decent. It's a little bit more updated

for kids nowadays, but I thought the animation

was really good and I think they have some interesting

stories going on at least. So I didn't mind the

new one. Are you talking about the movie or the

series? Yeah, the the series the new series that

started in Nickelodeon that came out loading.

Yeah. Oh, that's what I was talking about Yeah,

oh, I thought you you're referring to the the

movie that they did. Oh, no I have not actually

seen TMNT. I Was that five below for such a long

time? I always wanted to buy it, but I just never

did have you have you seen it? I had I ended

up seen in a theater. I think it came out when

we were in college and I was at Penn State at

the time and I went to see it at the theater

down there It was OK. I mean, it wasn't anything

great. But I mean, I would definitely say, like,

if you see it for five bucks somewhere, I would

pick it up. But it's interesting. It's not like

it's not like the 90 stuff per se, but it's pretty

interesting. Have you seen that, Greg? I did

see it. I think I am along the same lines as

Chuck. It was alright, but it wasn't anything

greatest thing I've ever seen. If I'm not mistaken,

doesn't Raph go off on his own, becomes his own

hero? Raph goes on his own, that never happens.

Instead of just threatening, he actually does

it. He goes off on his own and he becomes his

own hero. Is a different persona and a different

name and a different like costume and stuff and

it's kind of cool Yeah, so I guess kind of talking

about rap and all the Ninja Turtles. I mean the

most important question is What is your favorite

Ninja Turtle? Do you have a favorite? I Guess

I can go cuz first and I for whatever reason

as a kid and still now my favorite Ninja Turtles

always been Donatello the kid I was into computers

Even like not like it's a hardcore. I could play

like Apple Mac and Oregon Trail. But I don't

know the idea of someone being technology and

always was a fan of the stick as a weapon. So

Donatello is always the one I got rotated towards.

Dan likes to use his stick as a weapon. I do.

I do. Need two hands. Greg, what about you? I

guess I was the kid that always wanted to. fit

in and I guess he is the most popular character

but I liked him because he was goofy and I'm

kind of goofy weird but I always thought he was

fun and you guys probably just from that know

who I'm talking about it's my favorite yes my

favorite was uh Michael Angela nice yeah my cousin

who is who just graduated high school last year

apparently he he went to high school in Florida

And apparently one of his classmates. Her mother

dated the guy that did the voice for Michelangelo

in the cartoon in the 90s. Nice. Which is I know

it's kind of a big chain to go through into the

Kevin Bacon seven steps there. Yeah, OK. My I

just found out my brother -in -law just was hanging

out with Glenn Close the other day. So there

you go. Oh, yeah. Yeah, exactly. My wife's brother.

So, yeah. It's you know, he's a he's in Yale

school right now. It was just random story. But

anyways, it's one of those connection things.

So, yeah, Chuck. So who was your favorite character?

I can say my favorite was always Leonardo. Oh,

I know you're kind of poking fun at. I don't

know. I always. I don't know, I'm kind of predictable.

I always go for those leader types, the noble,

you know, Captain America, Superman, Leonardo,

like they kind of fit that same mold. I will

say Raphael was a close second though, because

I kind of liked his attitude and I liked his

backbone, so to speak, where he, you know, I

didn't put up with any crap. He was a close second.

The two of them, I always enjoyed interactions

between them and... Anything like that. I I probably

liked Leo a little bit more and just because

of his maturity and his leadership and stuff

But I think my favorite character was probably

overall that was probably Casey Jones Dude with

just like a hockey mask and a bunch of weapons.

I mean, that's pretty badass He's actually used

but he used a Jose can take a bat Yeah. It's

funny, though, going back and me watching it,

though. That was one of my still the big standouts

was I'm like, yeah, Casey Jones is still still

kicks ass. Even even even today. I love that

part when like he's he's in the stronghold of

the foot and Master Tatsu keeps like grunting.

Yeah. He's like, you know, a little primate and

clear that right up. It's one of my favorite

quotes from that movie. Very nice very nice.

So anything else about the turtles before we

get into the movie? Person here to like Raphael

though. I feel like if Walters was here our other

friend Dan Walters Who doesn't come on to this

podcast because he's always busy. Could we just

give him Raphael so we could have a nice little

Symmetry there. I could see that working. I could

say okay good It's like When you keep a table

open for Elijah, it's like you keep a turtle

open for somebody. I offend a lot of people.

I apologize. Just don't make turtle soup with

that open turtle. Exactly. All right. But anything

else before we move on to the new Ninja Turtle

movie? No, I don't think so. Let's get right

in. All right. So I know we talked about this

a great deal. When we did our episode way back

when taking it too far We went over the turtle

designs and whatnot and what we thought about

it And if we thought was gonna be good or not,

and I know we were a little we were up in the

air I think I think I overall thought the designs

looked okay, but What a lot of things going into

this, you know, there you have the whole alien

thing, which I commented on earlier. You had

the whole design, which was becoming a huge issue

and the fact that Michael Bay's name is attached.

So a lot of like a lot of negative negativity

going into this movie. So walking out, did that

negativity stay or did you actually enjoy it?

I guess, Chuck, maybe I'll start with you this

time. What did you think of the new Ninja Turtle

movie? I would say overall, I was disappointed.

But then again, I kind of went in with really

low expectations. Like you said, it was and I'm

glad that I did that because it was kind of on

par for what I was expecting. I will say it was

it was a kind of a fun movie. I mean, it's it's

just so hard to shake that loyalty that we have

for the original incarnations of the turtles.

So it's really hard to get past that. But I think

like for a new generation of kids, you know,

maybe it's kind of a good take on it, like a

good introduction. I didn't really have a problem

with the altered origin story. I thought that

made a lot of sense, actually. The fact that,

you know, they're April's pets as a kid and she's

the one that discovers them when they're older.

I kind of liked that part of it, if they're going

to change something, because it did kind of make

sense. They weren't just changing it to change

it. But another good thing, I think they, for

the most part, they pretty much got the personalities

of the four turtles right. You know, Mikey was

funny, which was great. I didn't care for Donatello

wearing the glasses. Yeah, that was a little

much. A little stereotypical and kind of weird.

But I mean, trying to oversell the point that

he's like, you know, the the techno technological

one. But he can invent a supercomputer, but not

contacts. Right. Yeah. Leo was OK. I mean, I

thought he could have showed a little bit more

leadership and stuff. But Rafael, probably they

got down the best, in my opinion. He wasn't really

as deep and troubled as he was in the 90s movie.

Like, I thought they explored his character a

little bit better in the 90s version. But out

of this movie, I think maybe they got him the

best. Like, Dan, you talked about the look. The

look of them, to me, was pretty bad. Yeah. Yeah.

I don't know. Especially the... Remember the

sequence where they showed the young turtles

when they were kind of growing up? Yeah. They

just, like, terrible. Yeah. Like, oh my gosh.

Splinter look bad. Oh, my God. That was grotesque.

I'm like this. Give him more fur. Yeah. Oh, man.

I commented to Greg at one point that his face

looked like a bull, somehow, like a cow almost.

I'm like, he doesn't even look like a rat. Like,

I don't get it. No. It just seemed like the costume

design for all of the major characters was way

off, and it just left a lot to be desired, like.

Even the shredder costume like I did not like

that I mean super super duper transformer shredder

that slices and dices and yeah I mean, I know

they they went crazy with in the second turtles

movie from the 90s where they you know, he ingested

the ooze and everything and he Got huge and crazy,

but I feel like this this one had even more sharp

edges Kind of crazy, but I guess I could kind

of jump into the main problem I had. Before you

do that, let's just go around real quick and

see what, before we get into the nitty -gritty

of it all. Yeah, I figured to maybe get you guys

initial thoughts, too. Greg, what were your initial

thoughts of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? So,

if you're gonna go see a movie this year, like

this week, that you're like, I wanna go see a

movie, and you're going to the theaters, you

have to check out... Guardians of the Galaxy

because Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was horrible.

I Don't know how it's been beating Guardians

For the past two weeks now. I do not understand

that it's at all to be fair it Guardians that

is such a huge opening weekend and it's still

Guardians overall is making You know twice as

much as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles good because

it deserves it and funny story is guardians actually

might end up Coming close to being the biggest

movie of the year, which is would be crazy Yeah,

just for having that one week on top and then

falling back. Yeah to turtles but anyway That

sound effect says it all yeah it does that should

have been the review it's like Everybody was

concerned about Megan Fox's acting, which, frankly,

I didn't think was too, too terrible in Transformers.

But here, every scene she was in was awful. Like

the only scene that she was good in was at the

end where she was smiling. That was the only

good part. That's the only reason you should

use her in movies to look pretty and smile. And

she even brought down other people in scenes

with her, because the main villain in the movie,

by the way, the main villain isn't Shredder in

this movie, if you ask me. He's just a big bruiser

character, bodyguard type of thing. He's not

the main villain, which is like a giant insult

to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans, if you ask

me. But the main villain, I'm going to call him,

I forget his name. Yeah. What was the name in

the movies? Doesn't matter. Sackers. Yeah, sacks.

That's an awful name. And I'm like, I'm thinking,

like, where did this conversation start? Like,

OK, what's this guy's name is going to be? Let's

call him Sacks. Like they should at least named

him. What's what's his name? I can't come up

with it right now. They should have named him

like the brain man or the crane. Krang yeah they

should have named him like something Krang or

something like that and then maybe kind of lead

up for a second one where something happens to

him where his brain gets taken out or mutated

and he becomes Krang instead of the alien aspect

of that that would or the dimension stuff but

anyway I'm getting off track I didn't enjoy the

character design I thought there was a shit ton

of exposition like they were explaining like

We got explained to death in the theater if you

ask me at one point I was wondering if I was

gonna be staring at the exit sign like I did

for 300 the the latest 300 movie I didn't actually

do that because then we finally finally got into

a little bit of action which wasn't that much,

and the good action that was in it, you pretty

much saw in the trailer of them going down this

mountainside. And to be quite honest, I know

you like that little story change, Chuck, of

April raising the turtles, which I was fine with.

But I didn't like the whole aspect with Splinter

having to learn karate in the little time that

he had. Like, how would the turtles be that experienced

as well? Like, Shredder should just be. Where

do they get the weapons? It's like. Yeah. And

how is how is. like a shredder in an outfit would

just kick his ass in two seconds because he's

like been alive for like what 50 years or something

so he should just be able to kick their ass uh

just with a regular shredder outfit or even no

shredder outfit at all why do we need him in

a robot outfit to uh serve as such a humongous

threat to them i didn't understand that at all

yeah so like you can't teach yourself Martial

arts from a book. Yeah, exactly You can't teach

yourself martial arts from a book and then to

teach it to somebody else in such a little time.

They shouldn't be Anywhere near as good at it

as they were and the funny part is the reason

why he did it It's like oh, they're getting too

obsessed with the you know, the pop culture of

today They're singing Hollaback girl things need

to stop and we need to want to read this book

and how to fight It's just yeah That has to be

one of the dumbest things ever at least like

YouTube clips. Maybe why not that? Yeah, just

want to say a couple more things because I feel

like I'm going a little bit too far with mine

before we get your overall Dan, but um, I thought

they tried too hard with the comedy like The

jokes didn't exactly hit on the head. They were.

Yeah, I agree with that. Yeah, they they they

missed the mark with the comedy. I can't really

remember anything to to tell, for example. But

it seemed like they were they were trying too

hard with the comedy. And then when the punch

line finally came, it just kind of like fell

flat because you're like you saw it come in like,

you know, 10 seconds before that. There's that

one scene where they're like going to the sewers

and it's actually kind of a wild Main scene and

they're like jumping around near the beginning

or the time we first see them Is that after the

the fruit getting shredded up or we're playing

fruit ninja at the beginning for some unknown

reason Which looks really gorgeous, but it served

no purpose whatsoever. I don't remember but it's

like in there Going into the tunnel and they

all get stuck and then like Michelangelo farts.

It's like, oh, yeah You saw that coming a mile

away The kids in the theater we were in did enjoy

it. It seemed I I think um That's the reason

it's doing as good as it is maybe parents that

grew up with it taking their kids I think that's

a big reason too. It's like I think people are

just you know How we're fans of it as kids are

curious about it Yeah, bring in their kids and

the kids that did go I think enjoyed it there

was one kid that was kind of hopping around and

like Repeating lines and stuff. So I I think

that's but I don't like see I don't even think

this I find it find that interesting because

I'm like there's some stuff in this I'm like,

I don't know if I would take a kid to it. Yeah,

that and there's so much exposition. I don't

know how kids would stay that focused on the

movie. Like everything got explained to death.

Oh, and that seriously was my biggest problem

was all the exposition. So you didn't like it.

So we can. So I'll get my thoughts into it. And

yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan. Like I didn't

hate it as much as I hated the latest Transformers

movies, but I also didn't like it as much as

I liked the first. transformers movie so I had

low low expectations and they were mess there

are elements I enjoyed okay but there's just

so much dumb packed into this pack it's honestly

one of the positives is the fact it's only an

hour and 45 minutes it's like at least it's not

two and a half hours like a like a transformers

movie it felt about two and a half hours I did

like I did like some of the action there are

moments Nothing fantastic. It was a little bit

bland. I did like splinter Him fighting shredder

though. It makes no sense in the hindsight but

I also think the the whole entire plot the plan

feel like they were rewrites and edits and changes

because Things don't really make sense a whole

lot when you see how things work Like shredder

first gets his outfit on he literally just gets

it and then two seconds later He goes into the

turtles lair and somehow splinter knows that

shredder It's like, how does he know it's Shredder?

He's just got that suit. Plus, that whole plot

is really cliche, if you ask me. Yeah. And the

things I like the turtles like I agree, Chuck.

I think they got the personalities down pretty

well. And I just wish they would spend more time

with them. And they didn't. And I felt like the

connecting the April Neil to them in the past

was just a quick way to try to get a connection

there. She's like, oh, I had them as pets as

a kid. Plus, they spent way too much time on

her. Yeah, I mean that's honestly I think it'd

be better without her I know I understand why

she's there but I thought they if you go back

to the first film and honestly Like I said when

I watched the first we watched the first film

recently. I didn't like it a great deal But I

also realized what it does so much better than

this and first and foremost it takes its time

and there's that great middle section and as

a kid and maybe I didn't enjoy but as an adult

I actually enjoyed it a lot where you just have

that section where they're there on at the farmhouse

just like you know Oh yeah. That's one thing

they do really well is explore the emotions of

each character. Exactly. And in this one, they

don't do that at all. They don't take a second

to stop. You have the beginning with April O

'Neil. She's trying to become this reporter or

whatever. And it's just tiring. And they spend

way too much time with her character. And then

they try to bring her into the action at the

end, which is a mistake. You can just leave her

out of it. Like in the first Turtles film, they

didn't bring her in when they didn't need to.

She was there when she needed to be. And then

they let the Turtles take center stage when they

should have. So I also think the plot of the

video has to be one of the most insane plots

I've ever seen ever. It's like we wanna become

more rich so we're going to poison New York City

with a mutagen and then we also, and then ransom

it to get the cure, but they're gonna know it

came from you because it's coming from your building.

And. You treat us like we're gonna be the kings

of New York, but everyone's gonna be dead So

how is that gonna happen? And here's an here's

a thing. You just found out that you created

a mutagen that makes Animals into sentient beings

that have superpowers market that that will make

That will make you stupid rich like you want

to be or have an army to army of like Raza and

or Rocksteady and bebop and and have them like

form an army that you could take over and become

king that way It's it's a thing again and another

big problem we're having with like blockbusters

like everything needs to be the end of the world

like oh they need to stop it it's like no just

you know maybe you're just having it where it's

like they're gonna expose the turtles so they

have to stop that from hopping or they're gonna

use the mutagen on other animals and like create

their own army or something like that like i

don't that whole like mutagen thing was really

ridiculously stupid it was like why would you

Do that it just make no sense at all. Um, i'll

go to the things i'm being really negative So

i'll go to things I did like real quick before

i'll stop talking by the way I didn't have anything

really positive to say about this movie Like

I said, one of my biggest positive was that it

was an hour and 45 minutes. So This is still

too long. It's still too long It could have cut

it could have cut. Um, I thought some of the

humor was okay. I like Michelangelo Little bit

I did find some of his stuff and his like a factuation

with my Megan Fox was was endearing a little

bit They didn't overplay it by the end. I thought

he had personality at least I'm really searching

for things that I liked really a lot. I just

the snow scene was decent When I going down going

down the hill, I had a problem with that though,

Dan. Oh, I will say like my biggest Issue with

it overall though. It is has the most obnoxious

sound design I've ever seen in a movie Like everything

has a transformer sound like when the like the

the section of like the tractor trailers going

back and forth It sounds like a transformer transforming

if in Michael Bay's touch was on anything It

was in the sound design like everything was over

emphasized Everything was a huge and like you

would like set down a glass and it'd be like

this shadowing of sounds all over the place It's

just like dudes, you know, take it back a little

bit. Take it back But I'm sorry, Greg, I cut

you off. Oh, that's totally cool, because I was

cutting you off. But I didn't understand the

backbone of that whole like Rafael's fight and

shredder alone back at the lab and everything.

And he gets his shell broke. And I have a question

about that. Did I'm not sure if I was just not

paying attention or what, but did. Shredder just

kind of get up and leave once he cracked his

crow He didn't take advantage of it at all The

four turtles ass like and he's already got one

down I don't understand why he didn't press the

issue there. So that was off for me with the

shredder But but Raphael had his shell cracked

and as they're going down They need to go help

out. I believe it was Leonardo was was skating

down on a shell or something. Yeah but they said

he sends uh donatello and rafael are talking

and they're like donatello's like you go and

i'm and he's rafael's like i can't because my

shell's cracked So they send out Donatello, but

not like two or three seconds later, Rafael's

skating down and then he hits into a truck with

his shell, which we think would split his shell

wide open after all of that. Like he is healing

powers like Wolverine, I guess. I don't know.

I just I'm like, we just forgot about where a

shell was cracked about two seconds ago. What

the hell is that? Yeah, I will say. The one scene

I did like was the which a lot of people have

been pointing to which I wish they had more of

was like the elevator scene where they're You

know, i'll just kind of they took a second and

took a took a breath and they're like kind of

just beat boxing That was that was like i'm like,

all right. Okay, you can at least have a little

fun But chuck you were saying I cut you off.

No, it's like I was just thinking about that

uh, that whole snow scene of sliding down the

mountain I guess i'll go the opposite of you

guys. I Did not like that scene at all. I mean

that whole scene to me was way like overproduced.

Oh, yeah, I agree It wasn't just exposition that's

why it stood out Yeah, I mean it was a break

from the exposition I guess but it's just like

there was way too much going on and the physics

to me didn't make sense at all Geography, it's

like a mountain near New York City that But like

I don't know, like I realize we're in a fictional

universe and we're talking about six foot talking

turtles that do karate. But like to me, like,

yeah, true. They did look that big. But like

to me, like I look at physics in a movie like

does. OK, you're you're saying something is a

little bit far fetched, but the law of physics

still apply. You know, and when they're doing

just crazy stuff and sliding under tractor trailers

and flipping over stuff and it just did not make

sense to me. And it was really, really long.

It seemed like they were sliding down this mountain

for like an hour and a half. Yeah, it got a little

self -indulgent there. And there was there's

just so much movement to me that there was a

lot of times where I couldn't see. I couldn't

tell which turtle was doing what and which one

was talking. Oh, so the the Transformers problem

has now been pushed onto the Ninja Turtles. Yeah,

like, I mean, you could tell it was like, OK,

there's two turtles there, but I have no idea

which two it is and I can't tell. Like, yeah,

I don't know. They kind of cut that down, cut

down like the whole beginning exposition stuff

with April O 'Neill and just allowed more time

for the turtles to like develop and. It was overall

just a big, gigantic waste of time. Oh, here's

another issue I had. I feel like we're gangpiling

it, but it kind of deserved it. They didn't reveal

Shredder's face in the original movies until,

like, how many in? And this one, first shot of

Shredder, we totally see his face in everything,

like scratched up and whatnot. Seeing his face

aside. I did like his introduction a little bit

because it does show him as a badass But then

you get that with him like fighting a rat that

learned everything from a book and he can barely

keep his own So yeah, but it kind of gives him

more of a horror villain more mysterious vibe

the other way, which I feel does a better job

than how they did it and The turtles they really

didn't give all that much mystery to them like

in the the Original movies they had them in the

shadows and like And you see people flying out

running away and whatnot, but I didn't feel that

type of Like they should have just revealed the

turtles instead of having them go through the

mystery of how they did it in there because it

wasn't Too too mysterious. I don't know. Yeah,

yeah the whole like the whole shredder thing

like I did have a problem with like the double

villain thing in this movie because like, you

know, there's so much to focus on with the turtles.

And now you're throwing in like two villains,

kind of, you know, the sex guy turned out to

be sort of like the villain that was in focus,

which is fine, which is fine if he's the main

baddie. But like, you know, you're showing Shredder

as his superior or his boss. Yet, like you said,

Greg. You're showing shredder as like the brute

force guy, like he's the enforcer. He's going

out into the fight when he's the main guy. And

I feel like this movie really could have benefited

by not even having the shredder in it, save the

shredder until the second movie. And I think

that would have been a much more suspense and

it would have built it up much better. I mean,

because the shredder himself should be properly

fleshed out. Mean that that's a character that

there's a lot of mystery there and he he's got

a lot of backstory, you know with splinter and

all that stuff at least in the old one, but Yeah,

I think they should have just left him out all

together and had him in the second movie I feel

like this sax guy could have he could have been

the villain in this movie primarily maybe had

a couple of henchmen and That would have been

fine. They just tried to crim Shredder in and

they were throwing stuff in and you know he had

like four thousand knives in his armor that he

would throw out at stuff. It would have been

cool if they could gave Saks Bebop and Rocksteady

and he kind of developed them from the mutagen

and they kind of grew up and then in the second

movie Shredder finds them and he kind of becomes

their number his number two. Yeah. It's just

to me like it seems like they got the roles reversed

in the villains like yeah, I mean You know shredders

the guy behind the scene that's like running

things But you know, they kind of had the sex

guy is that and like shredders like the grunt

where he just goes and tries to take them out

it just It didn't pay this respect to the shredder

that it should have Yeah, he was extremely undeveloped

and like the whole connection with him and sax

was kind of ridiculous It's like oh he he was

an orphan and they had the worst social services

ever. So apparently Well, let's get him to this

dude with the scarred up face and the transformers

Armor, it'll be fine. But yeah, it's there isn't

so much wrong with it. It's just and now it's

getting a sequel and it's just Really? Oh, yeah,

it's already been greenlit. So Oh, son of a bitch.

Yeah, that's pretty much the that's the review

right there. Anything else? I don't understand

why this is number one. Still don't understand

why it's being like the galaxy. It blows my mind.

I feel like if we never got the 90s movies, I

would have liked it a little bit more because

then I wouldn't really have anything to compare

it to that was better. But I mean, still, still,

I had some. Confident movies, I guess. Yeah,

I still would have had some issues with it. Definitely

but yeah anything else about the turtles before

we Get into our next episode of unknown. Yeah,

we should just shoot this and let it out All

right, so feel bad for busting it so much buddy

Yeah, what are you gonna do I try to find good

things I really did I wasn't ever super angry

I was just like shaking my head in disbelief

at times, but I was never like just I don't know.

It wasn't to me, it wasn't there. I wouldn't

put this in the worst movies category I've seen

this year. It's a failure of a movie, but I would

like, I would put like Transformers 4 as far

superior as a worst movie than this. Maybe, again,

I think a lot of it just affected it. It felt

like it went by quick, so. All right, so we're

gonna put an end to our turtle talk and we're

gonna get into episode seven of Unknown Pill

Delivery. Where the hell are we going, dead man?

Oh, we aren't that far away. Maybe a block or

two further. The spirit, or whatever he is, now

has me trucking around in the middle of the dulls,

the den of villainy in Monmouth, in the middle

of a downpour. That isn't even the worst part.

He's got me carrying around the decapitated head

of a security guard that I wasn't in time to

save. Not only is it a reminder of my failure,

It also makes me look like a psychopath killer

out on the loose, which isn't that far from the

truth. I tried to wrap it up in a lab coat, but

the white coat became bright red with blood.

Couldn't we just stop by a grocery store and

pick up a nice T -bone to put your essence in,

Don? No, no, no. This is much more comfortable.

Besides, we don't have time for that. Seriously,

it wouldn't be more than a couple seconds. No,

no. My contact is quite old and has not been

feeling well. Is that why you made me steal these

pills from that pharmacy? I'm sorry, but HMO

has expired centuries ago. I've been asking myself

over and over again, why have I been going along

with Don's schemes? The only thing that I have

been able to come up with is that he seems like

he knows more about my situation than he's telling.

Take a left down this alley my boy. I am NOT

a boy Don Well stop taking baby steps. We're

almost there. I never thought a spirit would

be in such a rush But this is very unlike him

anyway ghost or not The person we are meeting

with must be really important. Who is this person?

Someone very important. That is all you need

to know When we first met you said you could

help me find answers All you've managed to do

is put me further into the dark. Enter this door

here. I will not. Not until you give me some

damn answers. Your answers lie right on the other

side of this door. All you need to do is step

right in and meet my friend that is waiting for

us. Seriously? Yes. Just step inside. I grab

onto the door handle of the nondescript door

in the middle of an alley. I take a deep breath

as I twist the handle to let myself and Don in.

We enter a smoke -filled bar with a mass of people

jammed inside. Uh, Don? Should I really be carrying

a severed head in here? It is fine. No one here

would bat an eye at a guy carrying extra bloody

body parts. Heh. As long as you're sure. Over

there in the booth at the back. We walk to the

booth in the back corner, its occupant still

out of sight. The other patrons are unfortunately

fully in view with angry expressions and eyes

of steel. No wonder Don said I wouldn't have

a problem carrying a head through. The bar is

full of rugged looking men with larger nasty

scars and crudely drawn tattoos. This is a place

where I could definitely find a brother. A brother

in death. When we arrive at the table, we find

a man of a different sort. Small, hunched over

and balding. This man looked closer to a more

natural death than the other men we have seen

walking through the bar. Ah, good, you're still

here and still living, Hardy. Yes, for a moment

longer. Who knows how much longer I may have

left. Well, we have your pills. Hand them over,

my boy. Good, good. You have the other thing

I require. Yes, we do. Give him your sword. What?

Give your father his sword. Hope you enjoyed

episode 7 of unknown pill delivery We'll have

.com. We're also on Twitter and Facebook just

at mover revolt and Greg you newly on Twitter

where they where can they find you? I am at the

create forge and Chuck is in there in spirit,

so We mention them on both our Twitter's we do

we do that's good at least all right, so We'll

bring it to the end for this week. Hope you enjoyed

this week's episode, and then we kind of went

all over the place But yeah, you know it's a

good. It's a good time Anything anything else

before we bring this episode to a close? I'm

not sure if you guys are into this or not Dan

wants to wear a shirt for Baltimore Comic Con

to promote our podcast. And I have a silk screening

press that I have coming in from Amazon. So I

was going to make up him a shirt and me and Chuck,

but I was wondering if you, the viewers would

be interested in purchasing shirts or whatnot.

I just wanted to get a head count. Maybe I'll

ask Dan to put up a survey poll thing like he

has for the action hero draft. Maybe get a count

to see if it. something worth getting into or

not. Even if we do get a positive response, don't

assume that we're actually gonna go through with

it even then. I just kinda wanna get a head count

for now, see what's up. So that was my little

thing. All righty, all righty, Chuck, you got

anything? Are we ready to close? I'm done, I

think. All right. All right. So that is it for

this week. We'll be back next week. Same time,

same channel, same podcast feed. But for now,

this has been Chuck. This has been Greg or Pink

Kitty Bella. And this has been Dan. We've been

talking in circles. We will see you next week.

And this has been Talking to Spammers. That might

have been our most random episode yet, I think.

Comic books, Teenage Mutant Turtles, spam accounts,

yeah. We went all over the place. Comic books.

I think that may be the first time we literally

did actually talk in circles. It took us 31 episodes,

or 32. 32. This is 32. Also took us two hours

in time. We had more entertainment in two hours

than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did in an hour

towards the back. Yeah. A lot more interesting

dialogue. More character development. I felt

like I changed a lot. I felt like I changed a

lot. I feel like our costume design is better

even though you changed some of this. It was

more realistic. I'm doing some mocap here in

like mocap 2 One of those classic mocap podcasts

No chapter markers for this episode.
