About this Episode

The hosts conduct a draft to assemble the greatest group of Star Wars characters. Chuck selects Obi-Wan Kenobi, Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, and Luke Skywalker. Greg picks Boba Fett, Mara Jade, IG-88, and Jar Jar Binks (as a villain to defeat). Dan chooses Darth Vader, Yoda, R2-D2, and Darth Revan. Each host explains why their roster of characters is the best, and listeners can vote on their favorite team.

This is Jason David Frank and you're listening

to the Geek Cash Radio Network. You are now on

the inside of what I like to call the circle

of trust. We are all connected in a great circle

of life. You know something Bert? What? I think

you and I are going in circles. It feels like

we're going in circles. The circuit is now complete.

When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I

am the master. Because it's a circle. Yeah, we

heard about the circle. Yeah, it's familiar with

shape. Hi, this is Greg. Hi, this is Chuck. Hey,

this is Dan. We're actually not taking a break.

We are going full steam in the month of December.

How could we not with the epicness that is Star

Wars coming out? And today's episode is all about

Star Wars as we're having our Star Wars draft.

We've had it to you so far. We've had action

heroes. We've had comic book villains, comic

book heroes. And this time, it's all about those

Star Wars characters. But before we get to that,

how's the week been going for you guys? I do

have some pretty exciting news to share with

everybody this week. I bought myself a brand

new truck. Nice. Yeah. Get rid of the old red

Colorado. Traded it in. I got a 2015 Silverado.

Nice upgrade. Yeah, I got the upgrade to the

full size truck and it's got all the trimmings.

It's called All -Star Edition. Let's get like

all this cool stuff. It's got the backup camera.

It's got the remote start It constantly play

smash mouth I Opened the door it's like hey now

you're an all -star But yeah, it's pretty it's

got a lot of a ton of cool stuff on it like,

you know the Bluetooth and everything I synced

my phone up to it and there's like a voice command

button on the steering wheel. I could push it

and just say like, you know, call dad or something

and it'll just call them and I can talk to them

while I'm driving, which is pretty cool. Like,

you know, most of the newer cars are all about

like distraction, free driving. So there's all

these buttons on the steering wheels and stuff

so that you don't have to take your eyes off

the road. The opposite of that sometimes though,

because it's like distracted, free driving, but

then all this other stuff that you can look on

Facebook on your, on your. Here's a. Here's serious

satellite radio with 200 channels. Have fun looking

through all that while you're driving 60 miles

an hour. Yeah, I did get the serious free for

like I think it's three months, which I doubt

I'll renew that. But it's just too expensive.

But it is pretty cool. There's a fantasy football

channel on it, which is pretty awesome. And yeah,

there's there's tons of things in this truck

like I'm still getting used to everything. It's

like in the bed, like the rails, the rails on

the back of the bed, like up underneath, there's

like LED lights that you can turn on so that

you can see things in the in the bed of the truck,

like at nighttime and stuff. It's pretty cool.

Impressive. All the, you know, the dual zone

climate and like which. I don't really get that,

but I guess if you want to have one person with

the AC and the other person with heat on, I guess

you can do it. We have that in my car and it's

actually kind of nice because since she'll usually

want a lot warmer than I do. So yeah, usually

girls are cold, so. Well, that's because we get

to put our arms around. Very romantic, very romantic.

Thanks, I feel kind of weird now that Chuck odd

me Fine kind of kind of slow, but I am looking

forward to all the Christmas parties that are

coming up especially my bosses Apparently he

plans on doing this thing that he found out about

where you he makes his own bacon for these parties

No, he gets like 20 pounds of pork belly or something

like that Yeah, so So he's he's making bacon

but along with that He found out at one of the

brew fest that we've gone to from one of the

guys that he knows that if you take a French

press coffee maker and you put a stout in that

and some bacon, you can infuse the bacon into

the stout. So he's going to do that, which I'm

very, very interested in. Or there's also, he

has gotten a thing called a shot ski, which a

shot ski is a ski, like a snow ski. And then

attached to this the snow ski they have like

these little platforms that you could put shot

glass into so you put your shot glass in there

and put your drink in and This one has spots

for four So you get four people lined up and

they all take the shot at the same time with

the shot ski Interesting that sounds dangerous

Oh, it sounds very dangerous because there's

not a lot of room in the place because usually

his parties are outside, but with it being winter,

we're all stuck inside and there's not a lot

of space to go around. So should be interesting.

Also be interesting with short people and tall

people. You're going to have to arrange by size,

I guess. Because it was too difficult to get

multiple people to drink at the same time. Now

we have to make it even easier for them. Wow,

my week is not... Again, I'm being old and we

have kind of started some of the Christmas festivities

already. We went to do this German Christmas

festival going on in the inner harbor in Baltimore

that we went to, which is kind of cool. Yeah.

Nothing, nothing all too fancy though. I'd get

some nice hot roasted nuts, which are always

good cinnamon roasted nuts. Those are delicious.

Wait for it. I'm not gonna make a nut joke. Come

on, Craig. Was it just too easy? It was too easy.

It was like a set in volleyball. It was right

there for you. All you had to do was jump. And

it was actually kind of cool because there was

the... Well, I didn't want to get his nuts in

my face by jumping. They say they taste better

if you heat them up in the microwave Don't please

people listening to this. Please do not put your

nuts in the microwave. That could be very dangerous

Hey, I don't know how you'd get the door closed

to start up the microwave, but still very dangerous

You could you could seriously damage That's how

you get up. That's how you get an easy break

oven. I thought it's not not how that works.

That's Totally not how that works You have to

have sex with a light bulb Oh, man, the way you

go with that. It's gonna hurt All right, well,

that's odd that's that wasn't unexpected But

yeah, so that happened it was kind of cool. There's

just there's also there is this pretzel Stand

I would say that I actually go to when we go

to this wine fest and PA and they were actually

there They have like flavored pretzels that are

like, you know barbecue and honey roasted It's

a you know, they get pretzels and like put flavoring

basically on them. So I don't know that's how

exciting my life is at the moment, but Yeah food

Never feel guilty for talking about food. It

was a good time, so it was enjoyable. But Greg,

I know you also, last week we talked about a

flash a lot, but you've been catching up with

Arrow, and... I have. I have caught up, sort

of. I'm behind the current season right now,

so I have to wait for that to go on. Sorry everybody,

but yes, I get to finally talk to you guys about

I thought this was a weird weird season I felt

like everybody was going against character for

one reason or another, and they just kept changing

their minds midway through the season. I felt

like they were going one way to start the season

and then decided to go some completely opposite

direction. I'm not sure if the writers were drunk

or what was going on, but I felt like the main

issues with season three were with the writing.

I did not care for the whole back -and -forth

love triangle thing with Ray Palmer, Felicity,

and Oliver. I just thought that was weird out

of nowhere. I don't know why they needed to do

that. I thought the whole season was just all

over the place. Yeah, it was. It very much was.

There was no distinct storyline. In the ending

of season three, there's going to be some spoiler

alerts, people. Watch out if you haven't seen

it. If you're even further behind than I am,

I'm sorry for you. It's so hard to catch up on

things. But like them riding off into the sunset,

Felicity and Oliver and like, and where did he

get the car? He's poor. Where did they get the

fucking parts? I think she bought it because

she became the Yeah, but nothing really came

of that he didn't even say any Ray didn't even

say anything to her about it Like it was just

like, okay. Yep. He tricked her into signing

it But then no really told her about it or anything.

It was just very bizarre Well, he was like you

there was a deleted scene where he was like,

you know, okay, you're leaving me for Oliver

Here's a car so you can drive with him. No Okay,

well she was taking the helicopter and a jet

off of them and borrowing all that crap anyway,

so I It's very everything was very convenient

Yeah, it was yeah, it was like oh, I have a helicopter

cuz I own company and Yeah, and then the non

-explanation of how Oliver came back it was just

like I'll be up we nursed you back to health

But he was dead like what the hell It was very

bizarre. I didn't Well, I thought it was I thought

was like I could understand how Well, I shouldn't

say that I I really don't understand how you

get how you survive getting stabbed completely

through the chest If you look like he's actually

Stabbed on the right side of the chest so it

would it would have missed his heart. Uh -huh,

but uh, but I'm like, okay if Ra's al Ghul is

so great or excuse me, Ra's Al Ghul. If he's

so great, then why was he able to miss the heart?

Why couldn't he just put it through his heart

and kill him? I don't know that whole thing was

confusing and then everybody was saying he was

dead and everything and he was brought back to

life But like it would have been better if he

was just injured and miraculously Survived somehow

because people have served stabbed especially

wasn't in the heart and then people have five

falling from great height Well, you hear about

the one in two million people that survive falling

out of an airplane and their parachute didn't

go off or whatever. I mean, I think the whole

the whole thing they were going for was like

he fulfilled the prophecy because they were like

whoever survived his blade was to become the

next. Yeah, but that came afterwards. That came

right. Like a couple of episodes afterwards,

which was kind of like an afterthought as well.

Like they like there was no planning for the

season whatsoever. If they did that beforehand,

you would have known like, well, I guess he knew

anyway that he was coming back because they're

not going to do an aero show. So I guess so.

Yeah, it was a lot of like, I don't know. It

felt like they. We're kind of like clamoring

to put episodes together Almost in a way and

it was just like oh we need an episode like let's

do this and I didn't care for who they casted

for Ra's al Ghul I Really didn't I didn't feel

he was he just kind of looked like a dad type

of guy He didn't dad al Ghul Yeah, he didn't

look like he was, like, this ancient guy that

kind of knew very, like, mentally superior in

any way. Like, yes, he had, like, nice quotes

and he was very philosophical with his talking,

but he didn't look or really feel like he was

kind of knowledgeable about things for some reason

for me. I don't... I don't... But he just kind

of looked like... There's my dad. Okay, we're

off to school today. I kind of liked him, but

I thought he looked a lot like Charles Bronson.

Yeah, he did. How did you say that? Yeah, he

kind of looks like Charles Bronson. Charles Bronson

like a lot. Yeah. Kind of funny. Good comparison.

But yeah, it was kind of a failed season for

me. Especially they were at the island and Slade

got out. That was just weird and like, yeah.

That's one thing. I think Dan mentioned this

even a few weeks back, but the flashback scenes

in season three just were not up to snuff. Like

with season two, like that was something that

was really really great in season two and it

mirrored everything in every episode but like

in season three it just seemed all over the place

yeah uh i don't know it was it was a failed season

if you ask me hopefully this next season will

be better guys it is better i'd say this season

so far has been much improved it's still some

issues with it for sure um they have fixed the

Some of the flashback scenes, I think they are

a little bit better. If there was going to be

anything good out of this season, I thought it

was the whole thing with with Roy kind of going

down. I thought that was kind of interesting.

And then kind of coming in to take his place.

I thought that was kind of the most interesting

aspect of the whole season. I don't find it very

convincing as like an accident here. I'm like,

you're like. No, I don't either. She is adorable,

so I kind of let that go. True, I understand

that. I can see that. That's me and a giant perm

being just like, he's pretty, hi. Hey, I get

it. I understand. It happens. What do you think

of Ted Grant Wildcat? I thought that was very

cool. It was kind of sad that it was as short

as it was. I did enjoy the guy playing him, even

though it did not match with the comics of him

being like an older guy and everything. But I

get that they made it kind of a younger character,

especially being on CW. But I thought he was

really cool. I wish they kind of gave him more

of a... Wild cat like look like the costume and

everything for him. He really didn't wear one

and yeah, they referenced it, but they didn't

really Yeah, so it'd be cool if they like bring

somebody else in to kind of carry on the legacy

I guess yeah, I'll cat because I thought that

was that was one of the better things done in

that season I didn't care for the whole back

and forth with Detective Lance Lance and his

daughter. I thought that was bizarre and like

yeah We're gonna sober him up. But now we're

just gonna make him apparently a drunk again

at the end of this season I thought that was

also strange. Like I only had three drinks or

whatever like I Just I hate the well before I

say let me just say quickly that the Ted Grant

thing again Really like the Ted Grant character

and I now seeing season of flash. I really draw

a comparison with him to the Jay Garrick character

in flash Mm -hmm, and I I really wish they would

have had him appear more like you said and I

kind of wanted to see I Wanted to see him become

a part of their team sort of yeah But I guess

like you can't have too many characters involved

because it just gets kind of muddled but what's

black canary with the freaking the vocal thing,

which is hilarious anytime she does that. Yeah,

and you can totally tell though the sound that's

going on and her screaming like she is are not

connected whatsoever She just has her mouth open

and straining. She's not even Screaming you could

totally tell that No sense of like why she would

even do that in the is it like supposed to be

like a form of a mission when it's cool Like

why would you make a device? It's supposed to

like hurt their ears or whatever I mean, like,

why would you have it so that you have to open

your mouth to make it seem like you're just weird?

Yeah, you could just do it and stand there and

be like, I don't know where that's coming from.

I'm really not sure. Yeah, I see, Chuck, like,

how you don't care for, well, Willa as Speedy,

I don't really care for her as Black Canary.

I feel like that one's... Yeah, at least the

Willa Holland looks like she could like kind

of like Gymnastically get around and it's kind

of speedy It can be kind of fast and But there's

nothing about Laura Lance that screams out that

she should be black canary. I feel like that's

very bizarre It's weird Feel like her character

has been kind of consistently weak for like a

few seasons now Yeah, I don't know if they got

rid of her. I wouldn't be Sorry, that's somebody's

job, but like Yeah, and then back back to the

detective thing you're talking about like the

whole thing was like You know him and his daughter

like blaming each other for hiding stuff from

each other and lying It seemed like every episode,

like someone was mad at someone for lying. Yep.

I'm like, this is getting really, really old

and obnoxious. Like, well, that's like. That's

like the three plots they have, they have like

that one, the no you can't be a superhero, like

me you're not properly trained, even though like

in a week or two you're gonna be one anyways,

and you can't kill because you can't come back

from it, even though I did it for like an entire

season and two video games. Those are like the,

those are the, arguing over killing, arguing

over secrets, and arguing over - And unfortunately

the secrets ones is continuing this year. And

it's getting it all because, and I was even reading

an article today that they're like, oh, you know,

that's our staple and we're using that. And I'm

like, don't do that. They're talking about, uh,

you know, the whole thing going on with Oliver

and Felicity. Like if you watch that crossover

event with the flash, you'll know what I'm talking

about. Now he's hiding something from Felicity

and they're gonna play those angles for the rest

of the season I should be hiding from Felicity

is that he has a boner. That's the only thing

that should be hiding from Felicity at this point

It's just getting so old like you hid this from

me. I can't trust you We can't be together because

I kept secret and I'm like your entire can keep

secrets from everyone like And then like, you

know, Laurel gives people lectures about keeping

secrets. And I'm like, you're keeping secrets

from your father like nonstop. I don't know.

Yeah, it is funny. I did really like that. I

will say there is, in season, whatever this one

is, there's an episode with Constantine that

shows up, which I added up. Oh, yeah. That was

kind of cool. All right. Anything else before

we take a quick break and come back and do our

super Star Wars draft? I will say, I'm sorry,

I'm sorry, CW, for hating on Arrow. Don't pull

the plug on our sponsorship. Our non -sponsorship.

i'm definitely more on the the flash train right

now flash is just so much so much more well done

than arrow right now i think but i digress all

right well let's take a quick break when we come

back we'll get into our star wars draft All right,

and welcome back. Yesterday we are doing our

Star Wars draft. It's as simple as it sounds.

We've done a few of these and basically we'll

go around table and pick out different characters

from different categories. This time it's Star

Wars. We did a science fiction draft, but luckily

for that one, no one picked any Star Wars characters.

So Star Wars characters only. We're just doing

characters and we're actually going to keep this

rather simple. We've done ones in the past. We've

come up with stories. This is simply just trying

to create the most interesting group of characters.

So we'll put a vote, a poll up there at Keycast

Radio that you can put, you can vote in, give

us our thoughts on who you think created the

best group of characters overall. There's so

many to choose from with Star Wars. It should

be a lot of fun. Any thoughts before we get this

show on the road? Does Jawas count as one person?

I think it, I think it could. I think you can

have one Jawa. Yeah. Well, I want the whole like

race of job I mean, I would say that's the truth

if we can count the Ewoks as one person Yeah,

I think the Ewoks they battled as kind of one

person in return of the Jedi I'd say go for it

Greg make up your own rules. So Okay, cuz I don't

have anybody really picked Once again, going

in without doing any work whatsoever. We'll see

how it goes. Well, Chuck, let's start. No orders

selected. We'll just go randomly. And Chuck,

I just have your name here listed first, so we'll

start with you. You're on the clock. You have

Star Wars to choose from. So many characters,

a lot of pressure. Who's the first character

you're going to choose from from the world of

Star Wars? Hmm just be clear on this we could

go You can go outside of the movies if you would

like considering though that people are voting

on this So if you know, you don't know the character

you may not, you know Vote well if someone doesn't

never heard of some random character that you're

putting on your team Yeah, who cares about the

fans? Okay, there's a really lot of cool characters

I'm going to take one that I'm going to be fearful

of being selected, though, by you guys. So probably

my favorite Jedi, possibly my favorite Star Wars

character. I love his arc over all the movies

and what he's all about and everything. And that

is Mr. Obi -Wan Kenobi. It's your only hope,

Chuck. He is. I can't think of his name. Do you

have a preference over Alex Dennis, Ewan McGregor?

Actually, this will probably enrage a lot of

people and probably remove all of my hopes for

winning the votes. But I prefer the prequel one

because I really liked the job that Ewan McGregor

did. I thought he did an awesome job of portraying

a young Obi -Wan and sort of the ideals he would

be about everything. We didn't really get to

know him a lot in the original trilogy. You know,

you kind of see him being a mentor to Luke and

everything, but we didn't know Obi -Wan himself.

And I really, really liked the job that Ewan

McGregor did. I thought that was the best thing

about the prequel movies was the job he did on

Obi -Wan. So I really liked that version of that

character. And plus he schooled Anakin. Let's

not overlook that. I mean, everyone said Anakin

is supposed to be such a great lightsaber duelist

obi -wan smoked him he totally outsmarted him

come on he fought him for like half an hour and

he kind of went half so there you go yeah best

best all -around jedi of a time i think not the

best at any particular area but good at everything

he's a utility player yeah definitely he's like

the caliber of getting to know the jedi he's

like the carb alone you know That is kind of

random definitely all right Greg moving on to

you Obi -Wan's off the board you got one Jedi

we gone with I'm gonna go with something else

that we've seen that we don't really know much

about them. We know even less about them than

we know about Obi -Wan, and I'm gonna go with

Boba Fett. Boba Fett where? I just think he's

a badass character, and then if you read some

of the... other uh stuff that's out there about

him um him actually surviving the sarlacc pit

and everything so he's he's just a really uh

badass character um kind of villainous kind of

you don't really know where he's coming from

he's he definitely plays a merc um and who doesn't

like a merc Yeah, so I think that that would

I think he's a great character that has yet to

be Exploited I guess you would say Yeah So I'm

gonna go with Boba Fett cuz those villainous

not really know what they're doing with their

lives kind of characters are kind of all excited

for the possibility of the Boba Fett movie Yes,

definitely. I think it has some potential. Let's

see how it goes. Well, Boba Fett's gone, Obi

-Wan's gone. I didn't think I would go unless

I have this character, but I mean, come on now.

I gotta go with Darth Vader, right? I mean, he

is the character of the franchise, he would say.

And just Darth Vader, not Jon Anakin and Hating

Christensen. I'm going with the badass Darth

Vader with James Hill's Jones voice. That's who

I'm going with. So are you going with the guy

at the back of the transport with this helmet

off Darth Vader with the old guy that looks like

an egg? You know what? Inside he looks like an

old egg man, but you know outside he can forestroke

like no one's business. You know he's more man

than machine or he's more machine than man, but

still yeah It's kind of funny though because

I see all these images making fun of the way

like Kylo Ren looks in the new movie But if you

look at the the look of Darth Vader, he looks

kind of weird, too You know, like he looks like

he has like a dust bun or a dust bus buster for

a face But it ends up working somehow. So but

yeah, I love Darth Vader. He's It's like getting

Dan Marino third or John Elway third. You guys

are crazy for not picking them. I don't know.

Chuck, we'll move on over to you. You got Obi

-Wan. Who are you going with next? Well, let's

be honest, Dan. You haven't had good luck with

these drafts, so I figured I'd throw you a bone

here. Appreciate that. OK, second pick for me.

Gotta say the next coolest villain behind Darth

Vader Darth Maul. I figure I thought you'd get

with him first Yeah, I I love that character

and I was extremely pointed that He exited so

quickly in the first movie I thought he was probably

the best part of that movie all things considered

Young Anakin was extremely annoying Which I feel

bad cuz I'm not really sure that actor ended

up doing much else. So that's kind of like the

one thing you remembered for that's I kind of

feel really bad for it, but Yeah, I love Darth

Maul just the the fact that he can engage to

Jedi at one time and hold his own like Ridiculous

like he kills Yeah, he kills Qui -Gon Jinn Almost

almost gets Obi -Wan, but uh Obi -Wan sort of

gets the drop on him outsmarts him a little bit,

which I thought was kind of I don't know I know

they were trying to illustrate How good the Obi

-Wan was and how great of a Jedi you'd become

and everything but I thought Darth Maul would

be a little bit more formidable even I was disappointed

that they killed him in that instant like I was

hoping that he could have got away and Got some

mechanical legs like everyone else gets mechanical

appendages Yeah, yeah in the like and even in

the comics and stuff in the EU kind of He ends

up coming back and fighting Darth Vader, which

was pretty cool, but that's technically not canon.

So whatever whatever Right, but come on double

double -bladed lightsaber, you know, he's Spinning

all around crazy. Like I mean he was He was cool

with the stick before Morgan was But after Donatello,

so we got to... Yeah, well, yeah. I think he's

slightly more agile than Donatello, though. Yeah,

he didn't have a shell. I mean, that's a battle

I want to see, Donatello versus Darth Maul. Right.

They didn't give him any lines in that movie

either. Like, I think he had one line. Which

was growl, I believe. When he talked to like

I think he spoke one line to Darth Sidious and

that was pretty much it and It felt like just

kind of like a throwaway villain like they just

threw him in there But it it turned out to be

really cool and everyone was like You leave that

in there So yeah, but I love Darth Maul. So I'm

going to do Darth Maul Darth Vader What Darth

character you going with Greg? I am also going

with a Darth character. One of the archetypes,

I guess you would say, of the Darths, of the

whole plan that Emperor Palpatine goes through

with. He structured this. He started off kind

of weak and wussy. but definitely grew into the

role of being a badass villain and that is a

Darth Bane. You probably have never heard of

him if you haven't read any of the books. Yes,

and I highly recommend people reading that trilogy

with Darth Bane. It's very well done. He's an

awesome protagonist, antagonist, anti -hero type

of character and definitely fits in with kind

of the vibe I've started drafting with here.

So Darth Bane, Darth Vader, Darth Maul all gone.

So I got I got an evil character i'm thinking

i'm gonna kind of try to go back and forth with

this evil Good part of me thinking do I go luke

skywalker because I have dirt fader. I don't

know Luke skywalker is a little whiny. I'm not

sure about that You know, he can be a little

he can be a little much But you know I'm gonna

go with I think You know, you said you said obi

-wan's like the the best jedi I think this guy

may be the best jedi and that's yoda. Come on

now pick him. I will At for my second freaking

choice voiced by a Frank Oz. He's a Muppet and

a Jedi. Come on now. How can you And crappy crappy

CGI true that is that happened we can't deny

that But still, yeah, he's Yoda. He's funny,

humorous. He's super powerful. He can kick ass.

I remember, you know, thinking like, how can

this Yoda dude really be that big of a badass?

But then the prequels happened and we got to

see him fight. And that was, that was rather

cool. The guy can throw down for sure. He's like

8 ,000 years old, you know? So I'm going to go

with Yoda for my next pick, for my second pick.

I gotta say, Greg, the CGI, by the time we got

to episode three was actually pretty good. Yes,

I was okay with where they for episode one they

because they the first they use the same puppet

and I did it like the puppet was like decrepit

and not nearly as good so they went back and

use the CGI version which I think was actually

a smart move to change that so it probably is

the same one from It was like bent out of shape

and somebody had it under a book. Oh, there's

Yoda. It's like, you know what? Let's just go

to CGI. All right, Chuck. You got Obi -Wan. You

got Darth Maul. Who are we going with next? A

lot of good choices still out there. I think

I'm going to go with probably my second favorite

Jedi of all time. And this is a little bit lesser

known guy. But someone I've talked about before

that I'm a huge fan of, and that is Kisto. I've

heard a lot of good things about Kisto. Yeah,

he's a bit of a fan favorite online. If you do

some reading, like tons of people love this character.

One of the great things about him is that he's

always smiling. Like he just has a great personality

and outlook on life, like he's always cheerful

and positive, like he's never... negative in

any way. He always looks good in people, looks

good in things, always has the glimmer of hope

and the silver lining on everything. He's just

a great personality. And he's also a ridiculous

lightsaber duelist. One of the best in the Jedi

Order. Obviously behind some of the top ones

like Yoda and Mace Windu and Obi -Wan and stuff,

but Kit Festa was right up there. top 10 easily.

That's why he was selected by Mace Windu to go

with him to arrest the Emperor. Mace Windu selected

like three other Jedi to help him arrest the

Emperor and Kit Fisto was one of those and he

unfortunately got killed in that scene. Even

though there was some speculation that he may

have survived, there was a lot of fan talk on

the internet about him surviving that sequence

because when the Emperor kind of Strikes him

with the lightsaber you see him fall And he sees

buddy lay in there, and then it cuts back to

another scene and his body's not there anymore

So people were like oh, he's alive. You know

he got away, and he's still out there And I'm

like no. I think it's just an error It's just

bad you know film editing, and it's just an error

that they forgot to put in there. But interesting,

though, I mean, but I really don't think Kit

Fisto would be the type of type of person that

if he did survive that to just kind of slink

away and not help out Mace Windu, he would have

he would have come back and tried to help him

finish off Emperor Palpatine. So unfortunately,

I do think he died in that scene. But really

one of the great Jedi's and something else cool

about him is that he's He's actually very skilled

underwater because he's sort of an aquatic species.

You see he has a green skin, he has all these

tentacles kind of coming out the back of his

head, these big black eyes and everything and

he's very very agile underwater. He actually

has a special lightsaber that can work underwater

and he has this special like force power where

he can Form late formulate these like spheres

of water or something and he's got a very unique

Power set really unique Jedi and a cool character.

All right. Well You got a kid Fisto moving on

over to Greg for your next back. You got Darth

Bane So you went expanding universe with Boba

Fett a classic character known well known in

love So we're going with for your next selection

well I kind of think this is kind of sad. We

haven't picked a lady yet. So I'm going to pick

a lady that also fits into my scheme of are they

bad? Are they good? Are they anti -hero? What's

going on with these people? And I'm going to

pick somebody who has switched sides. They haven't

really made it into the movie realm at all for

Star Wars, but they have definitely made it into

graphic novels. and regular books, and made it

into the heart of Luke Skywalker. And I am talking,

of course, about Mara Jade, force sensitive,

badass with a lightsaber, worked for Darth Vader

for a while, and the Emperor, and just complete

badass. You never know what the hell she's going

to do. And it's a big threat for Luke. Everyone

what's the name again? I'm sorry. I missed it

Mara Jade Very I honestly never heard of that

character before that's how that's how I'm in

the name while you know when it comes to the

Star Wars expanding universe yeah, she actually

started off on a trading card, I believe and

the fans liked the look of her so much that they

They actually started bringing her into different

things and so Pretty cool. Well Yeah more Jade

for Greg and I do agree I should said we haven't

picked many lady characters and part of me wants

to pick a lady character But part of me is like

it's pretty sad. We haven't picked this character

yet And I'm surprised I missed them, but he may

be my personal favorite Star Wars character or

at least he's up there I'm not I've never really

ranked them. He would be high in that list. I

mean He is Indiana Jones, you know, he is Harrison

Ford. He is Han Solo Scruffy looking Dan further

and himself. I know I was trying to think of

way to set that up, but I was like I can't set

that up for it me to work Yeah, so yeah Han Solo

we should have been like damn True true I did

not think that one through Was get I was wondering

when he was gonna go I mean, you know, he's not

the most powerful character per se He's just

a human but you when it comes to cool factor.

You can't you can't really beat Han Solo, dude

He is he's up there. So I'll go with honey So

we've been only took we have two more picks in

in this this will be your second and last choice

So where are you going with next? Well, I think

I'm going to go with another huge character in

this franchise. Someone that I can't believe

is still on the board. Well, there's some of

course is the character that spoke this line.

I am a Jedi like my father before me. Luke Skywalker.

Yes, possibly possibly the most powerful Jedi

of all time, although some people would say Yoda.

But, you know, Luke, definitely very powerful

in his own right, because the new Grandmaster

for the Jedi Order, Tavis recruiting new members

and stuff. So I really, I really do like his

character a lot, especially in episode six. I

like episode six a lot. That's a really cool

movie, kind of the culmination of everything

when it comes together. And I guess. For lack

of a better term just the cojones on this guy

to kind of To kind of like try to turn his father

the Sith Lord that everyone in the galaxy is

afraid of Just to like confront him and be like,

yeah, I'm not afraid of you I know there's good

inside you and you're gonna change back to the

good side like you don't know it yet, but you're

gonna like it just it was pretty pretty impressive

just the character arc that he took over those

three movies and Really eager to see What's gonna

have them in the in the new movies here episode

7 and 8 stuff a little It happened. I've been

hearing different things, but we shall see The

big mystery so far of what's you know, what's

what will happen But see do you see what happens

when you leave mystery people get excited. It's

okay Exactly. Yeah, and yet when you don't give

it away and Give it away, give it away, give

it away now. Alright Greg, moving back over to

you, what's your next selection? I'm trying to

come up with his name right now. Maybe you guys

can help me. Episode 5. Jar Jar Binks. No, five.

The mercenaries around Darth Vader as he's making

a speech. No, the droid. I need a droid in there.

In Star Wars, you need a droid in there to make

it an awesome Star Wars story or tale. Yes, IG

88. Yes, in Empire Strikes Back surrounding Darth

Vader. And he definitely he had a nice little

kind of short tale in Tales of Mercenaries. It

was a Star Wars novel and had a bunch of stories

about different mercenaries. He definitely had

the coolest background and coolest story in that

book, I thought. And like I said, you definitely

need a Droid to make it an awesome Star Wars

story. So I'm going with IG 88 Going with the

droid and you know what? I agree with you Do

you need a droid and I feel like I'm going the

obvious route, but you know what? I can't help

it I'm gonna go the obvious route with the droid

and go with r2d2. I mean Without r2d2 you really

have no Star Wars because he saves them countless

times. So Comic relief, but you also mix it.

He makes C3PO tolerable so you know i gotta go

with i gotta go with r2 he's uh as a kid maybe

one of my favorite characters an adult i'm a

big fan of him beep bop beep boop that's a that's

a shout out to to r2 he knows what it means so

exactly nice very very nice greg chuck i mean

yeah that was chuck yes Credit where? Credits

do. Good job Chuck. Alright Chuck. Thank you.

Over to you for your last pick. You have Obi

-Wan. You have Darth Maul. You have Kit Fist

2. You have Luke Skywalker. A lot left. Who are

you going with? Okay, um... Well, this is definitely

tough. There's tons of good characters left.

Tons of vital characters to the Star Wars franchise.

I kind of have an idea where I'm going, but I'm

just tempted by all these great opportunities.

I'm gonna go with young Anakin, I'm kidding.

His midichlorians are off the chart. I think

I'll just stick with what I originally thought.

I'm going to go with Mace Windu. Oh, nice. Nice.

I think I did enjoy his character. You know,

I like the purple lightsaber. He's got the toughness

to rock the purple lightsaber like no one else

does. But I do like his character a lot. He's

pretty much the second in command through the

Clone Wars to Yoda. He's probably like the second

wisest, probably the second best lightsaber duelist,

all that stuff. He's one of the head generals.

Yoda is like the grand master. Mace Windu is

obviously a master, he's on the Jedi Council

and everything, but he's pretty much the leader

when Yoda is not active or whatever, so you kind

of have Yoda mirroring Darth Sidious, you kind

of have Mace Windu mirroring Vader in a way,

sort of the functional leader, so I like his

character. You gotta respect the purple lightsaber

for sure. You gotta give Bindu pretty much defeated

Darth Sidious if it wasn't for Anakin's stupid

ass cutting his hand off. Mace Windu pretty much

schooled Darth Sidious and he would have beaten

him, he would have killed him and you wouldn't

have had episodes four or five and so. So in

a way, stupid Anakin went away, thank you Anakin,

so we got to get to Star Wars. Right. All right

great at this point you have bubblefet, you have

Darth Bane, you have Mara Jane and IG 88. Who's

your last choice? My last choice is going to

be a bit surprising uh but there's a reason I

am picking this person. All the four of my characters

are going to gang up and kill this uh individual

and they're going to gang up and join forces

to take out Jar Jar Binks. That's you know what?

It's worth it. Greatest plot of all time. Very

nice. And Jar Jar's evil army of Gungans. What

if that was a secret? He ended up being the secret

Jedi that's the most powerful Jedi or something

like that. Maybe he's Kylo Ren. Oh my god, that

would be the worst. If they had like the ability

to kind of like prank people doing that like

that would be worth it just to Just to see people's

faces like the extreme Star Wars fanboys like

they'd be like throwing shit like Throwing popcorn

across the theater Wow very nice. All right.

Well, so now I have my last pick of the draft

I You know, I've gone with a lot of obvious characters.

I don't know a huge amount from the Expanding

Universe, but I thought, you know, some of the

stuff I do know is video games, specifically

my, probably my all -time favorite Star Wars

video game, which is Night of the Old Republic.

So I think I'd go with one of the most recognized

characters from that series. And I'm going to

go with Darth Raven as my last choice. Damn,

that's stupid. Oh man, how did you? Oh, that

makes me sad. Geek card revoked. Man card revoked.

Yeah, he's kind of the center force of, like,

one of the center, or a huge part of the Knights

of the Old Republic game. Obviously extremely

powerful, one of the most powerful siths ever.

with his own little shared mystery as well. So

I think I'd go off the board for just my last

choice and go with Darth Rave. And I thought

about going with Chewbacca or a lot of other

characters, but I figure, you know, I would at

least rock the boat for one choice. Rock the

boat, don't rock the boat baby. Rock the boat,

don't tip the boat. But before we go though,

let's try to... We'll all give a little spiel

on why we feel like our collection of characters

is by far the best compared to everyone else.

So Chuck, you just want to explain why you think

people should vote for you over us with your

selections? I just think the cool factor. I don't

know. You got Obi -Wan, Luke, Mace Windu, Darth

Maul, and Kit Fisto. That is one badass team

right there. Talking some very very skilled fighters

could probably Could probably hold their own

against either of you guys team true. I don't

know about Jar Jar though But uh, yeah, very

very powerful very good fighters very cool characters

and you have Especially with Luke and Obi -Wan

two of the pivotal characters in the entire story

to Greg. What about you watch people vote for

your characters? Come on, people. Jar -Jar's

gonna die with my people. They're gonna take

him out. That is, that, yeah. I mean, it's hard

to argue against that. Maybe Marja - Mar - Marjada

kinda groups up with him and tries to help him,

but then eventually he's like, you know what?

Fuck it, yeah, this guy is pretty frickin' annoying

after spending some time with him. I gotta cut

his throat with my lightsaber, so, like... Oh,

that'd be a beautiful - Like, Jar -Jar's head

on a platter. So so my choice is my choice is

I would say like I think I Think I got the the

best characters out of everyone I mean the most

iconic could you have Star Wars without Darth

Vader or Han Solo? I don't I don't think he could

yeah Luke Skywalker's a good character, but let's

be honest He all he always wanted to be Han Solo

like yeah He's got Jedi powers, but he does not

have the coolness factor of Han You know Yoda

is super powerful a Muppet like I said Vader

is the best villain of all time archery to the

best droid and fishing off with uh... you know

uh... a cult hero in that thread and so come

on now i think i think it i think this is a no

contest personally but you know we get it though

again at the end of the day we're all going to

join up forces to kill jar jar that's the point

of today it's a is the kill jar jar banks let's

let's let's just agree let's just agree that

we would love to see a fight between uh... darth

maul and yoda Just just a sheer amount of flipping

around and kicks and shit like you would just

be dizzy watching I'd be interesting in doing

this list in years if any of the new characters

can kind of they have a lot to live up to you

as Yes, we you know, we if there's a million

characters we have not you know We have 15 characters

here, but there's still like a trillion more

that you could choose them They're still really

great that didn't even make our list, you know

from Chewbacca Lando Calrissian to the Ewoks

Princess Leia. Princess Leia, yeah. In order

to vote, though, there are ways to vote for us.

You want to go to geekcastreader .com? I'm going

to end the episode post there, and there will
