About this Episode

Dan, Chuck, and Greg count down their personal favorite comedy sketches of all time, spanning shows like Upright Citizens Brigade, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, SNL, Mad TV, and Key & Peele. They discuss what makes these sketches memorable and how they've shaped their comedy sensibilities, including sketches like the Astronaut Sketch, Sound Effects, Dick in a Box, Substitute Teacher, and Coach Hines.

This is Jason David Frank and you're listening

to the Geek Cash Radio Network. You are now on

the inside of what I like to call the circle

of trust. We are all connected in a great circle

of life. You know something Bert? What? I think

you and I are going in circles. It feels like

we're going in circles. The circle is now complete.

When I left you, I was but the third. Now I am

the last. Because it's a circle. Yeah, we heard

about the circle. Yeah, it's what a million would

change. Hey, this is Chuck. This is Greg. And

this is Dan, and we are Talking in Circles, brought

to you by ECAST, Radio Network, a podcast that

would have took the sack and not throw the ball

away. Bitter Giants fan. Bitter Giants fan. Today

we are here to talk about our favorite comedy

catches of all time. Yes, anything from SNL to

MADtv to, you know, SCTV, I guess, if you really

wanted to. But before we get to our top five,

which I'm really looking forward to, let's...

How's the week been going for you guys? It's

going pretty good. I'm increasingly starting

to believe that Greg has powers of clairvoyance.

We just to fill the listeners in we organized

a little game night last night and Greg and myself

and his brother and Greg happened to bring up

the question of have I ever had Little Caesars

pizza and I said no not since I was a kid probably

like 25 years ago or something So I'm home tonight

and parents bring over Little caesar's pizza

that they stopped to pick up in town. So i'm

like what like i've not had this in 25 years

the day after greg mentions it boom very serendipity

And tomorrow you will feast on Something good

named susanna. So there you go. Hope she doesn't

cry for me Nope, no crying tears, but yeah, that

was uh That was quite interesting. So yeah, they're

pretty good pizza, you know, but other than that,

I was happy to get week one of the NFL season

under my belt and actually got to see my team

play. My dad and I went to Damon's to watch the

game on the big screen. So they have like that

Sunday ticket package and they have like four

big screens or whatever. So we actually got to

see our team play for once. And it was actually

on the portal. It was a featured game down here

since we get all the Redskins games. So. Yeah,

yeah, it wasn't on up here. They had the riveting

game of the Jets and Browns Man I'm like who

in the world is watching this game right Johnny

Manziel, man. That's you know, there you go That's

yeah, you guys had a pretty pretty pretty good

week. I know I mean It was close there We started

off slow, but you know, they made some halftime

adjustments and you know, they pretty much shut

them down mention We're recording this and week

two is actually Mean by the time this has come

out week two has already started. We're recording

this the Thursday So the Chiefs and Broncos are

actually playing right now So and I'm rooting

hard for Owen Daniel so I can actually get a

fantasy win this week I am not Greg and I are

going toe -to -toe So if there's no more talking

in circles, you might not you might know why

so but Craig how things are going with you and

Peyton Well, I have a story since we were off

for a little while since we've been doing two

episodes recording back to back. In that space

in between, I have an interesting story from

that. I went to the Italian festival here in

Scranton, which is a big deal. They have it in

the middle of the city square and they have a

whole bunch of food everywhere and there's a

whole bunch of people that come out for it. I

went with my brother to it. had a whole bunch

of great food, but then we were walking behind

some ladies, and so I approached. I actually

put myself out there for once. I approached,

and I go up to the one girl, and I'm like, excuse

me, can I ask you a question? And she looked

totally scared, totally creeped out, even though

her friend was kind of behind her and just kind

of smiling at me like, hey, what's going on?

The girl immediately goes, no. and gave me a

look of disgust. And so I walked away. Yeah,

it's tough runnings out there. And so I went

on my way. Later on, my brother and I went to

a bar that's close by and find another group

of ladies and... We go over and talk to them.

The one seems nice enough. She's talking along,

having fun, being chipper. The other one, not

so much. She's looking for the way out. So eventually

they leave and whatever. And they kind of give

us a nice little, yeah, thanks, but no thanks

kind of deal. But my brother and I are sitting

there and we're getting about ready to leave.

Then all of a sudden this group shows up next

to the table. It's... two women and this guy

and the guy's like hey do you mind if i smoke

here and we're like it's a bar you could smoke

wherever you want go ahead um and so he starts

smoking nearby our table whatever and so my brother

and i are talking all of a sudden he turns around

he's like i'm so sorry for smoking here blah

blah blah blah hope you guys don't mind we're

like he said it was fine it's totally cool dude

yeah smoke whatever And so finally he goes back

around to his friends and then he turns back

around towards us again. I'm like, what the hell?

But he's like, I just wanted to ask, how long

have you guys been together? My response is,

we've been together our whole lives since he

was my brother. Oh, oh, oh, okay. So he turns

back around to his lady friends and whatever

some time goes by and then he turns back around.

And he goes, so I was just wondering if either

of you guys are like gay or anything. No, no,

we're both straight. And he goes, oh, OK, because

I'm gay. And in my head I'm going, yeah, no shit,

Sherlock. So he's like, okay, yeah, he turns

back to his friends. And then he turns back again.

I forget, I've lost track how many times he's

turned around at this point. But he goes, he's

been mostly talking to me. My brother is there,

but he's not actively looking at my brother.

He like glances over to kind of keep him involved

in things that are going on, but he's focused

in on me. It's like laser beams. So finally he

goes, I just wanted to let you know. He's like,

I think you're absolutely gorgeous. You are hot.

You are a cub. You are the definition of a cub.

Son of a bitch. Thank you. Yeah, thanks. Yep.

Appreciate it. And so he goes back to his lady

friends again. And once again, he turns back

around. He's like, I'm going to leave you alone.

Sorry for bugging you so much. She's like, I

just wanted to tell you again that you are gorgeous.

You are absolutely gorgeous." And he's like,

all right, bye. And he leaves. So yeah, I have

better chance with men at this point than I do

with men. Well, you know, maybe it's better taste,

you know? Well, my boss is like, well, gay guys

have really good taste, so you should take that

as a really big compliment. I'm like, thanks.

Thanks, Rich. I mean, I've never been called

a kill before, so maybe. I don't know what that

means, but I'm sure it means something. It's

a hairy dude that can grow up to be a bear. Awesome.

Well, you know, you got that going for you. Yeah.

Not really sure what that means either, but okay,

let's get... We don't have enough time in this

podcast to explain what a bear is. Bear is a

very hairy man. Yeah. He's he's usually a fatter

dude, which that also means I need to work out

really bad. Oh, anyways Wow, so that's it. That's

an interesting thing. So I kind of had like a

random encounter as well. So not as random as

yours You do you didn't you do win that award

for today for sure? No, it was actually you ever

have one of those situations where like someone

comes up to you and like they're talking to you

like they know you and They even like say your

name and you're like, I have no idea who this

person is well that kind of happened to me a

couple days ago because I was dropping my son

off at daycare and I was leaving and someone's

like hey dan, how's it going and I turned around

i'm like hey and I like I thought the the person

I recognized them, but Yo went through the exactly

and but i'm like, I thought maybe they worked

there, you know, because we know i've only been

there a couple weeks I don't know everyone and

i'm like, hey, how's it going? You know just

having a conversation She was like, oh, small

world. I'm like, oh, obviously that means that

you don't work here. I'm like, oh, yeah, definitely.

Give me more clothes. Yeah, definitely. I guess

I'll see you soon. I'm like, oh, so we work together.

Great, that doesn't help me much. So she's like,

I don't know her name at all. Like, I don't know

your name. So she's like, yeah, I guess, I'll

see you. And I'm like, sure, sure, that will

happen. And I was trying to act like, When she

said that I kind of I'm like, oh, she works with

me. I didn't know that beforehand, but I was

trying not to show that in my face. Like, oh,

okay, that's who you are. Not to toot my own

horn, but being a manager in my department, there's

a lot of people who know who I am, I don't know

who they are, because there's like 200 people.

So I'm trying to act like I know who the person

is. And then when I get to work, having one of

the most awkward conversations of trying to explain

to another manager of like, yeah, I ran into

this person and like, oh, what do they look like?

And then next thing I know, I walk around where

my desk is on the other row and she's like sitting

in that row. So I'm like, she probably heard

my conversation about me explaining how I didn't

know who she was. So that's awesome and amazing.

So there you go. And so that was my awkward moment

of the day. Get a little close office quarters

that everyone can hear. Exactly. That's happened

to me, too. Like talking about someone and then

you realize they're like literally on the other

side of the thing. You're like, damn it. Probably

just heard all of that right now. No, take it

back now. I'll take it back now. Well, it's all

in. I might as well just bash them completely.

Might as well have some coin along here. All

the chips are on the table. Might as well. Might

as well flip the table over while I'm at it.

The other cool thing, though, is I had a awesome

uh pretty eventful birthday my family because

my grandfather turned 100 yeah so i'm like wow

that's a lot to live up to literally because

like that is yeah i'm like that's insane when

you think about it 1915 to 2015 how much has

changed since then so that's oh yeah so unfortunately

i wasn't i was not home to celebrate it but they

had uh he used to work for the Lackawanna Railroad

so they actually had this thing them come out

and do this whole Thing for him in celebration

and that was kind of that was definitely cool.

He was like the conductor back in the day. So

Here's something you don't hear me say often

at all God bless him for being like a hundred.

That's a lot of years. It's one of years. Yeah

With we were talking earlier regarding, you know

regarding NFL and it was we can probably maybe

touch upon that a little bit because it was a

rough first week for me like it it could not

have been worse as a Giants fan watching the

Giants in the Cowboys game it was just uh literally

white run when they throw the ball away on the

third down I'm like this game is over and I was

gonna come back and score and I'm gonna lose

it but then worse than that I'm like at least

I have fantasy and I had like one of the worst

fantasy loss I've had in a long time it's actually

for those I uh was playing Kevin Altman's solo

from Cinema Geeks and Going into Monday night

games. I'm up like 30 40 points. I have Adrian

Peterson He has Julio Jones and the Marco Murray

So I'm thinking I should be good I should be

good because the Marco Murray Julio Jones are

pretty there They're set for like 20 points each

usually but you know, then Julio Jones has like

one of the best Well weeks ever for my receiver

and the mark of worry he gets like four carries

But each is for a touchdown because screw you

Chip Kelly So he goes he goes up like by 10 or

15 points, but I'm thinking that's not that huge

of a lead I still have Adrian Peterson AP coming

back and then he craps the bed completely So

it's it was just a it was a bad week overall

overall, but I'm playing Greg this week So we'll

see how that goes, but What's up? You going down?

It was tough, but To cheer us up Chuck. I know

that you did get to check out a video So I'm

curious what you know, we've been talking about

a lot of YouTube videos and we'll get the sketches

later So would this be in the running for your

top five? I'm not sure if it was a comedy sketch

or not, but no, it's not a comedy sketch. It

was on YouTube I've been finding some interesting

stuff on YouTube lately This Think this is newer.

I'm not quite sure the the post that I found

on YouTube Said it was just shared on August

31st. So I think it's pretty much a new thing.

But um, it's it's basically It's a movie mashup

kind of amateur movie fan kind of put all these

movie scenes together cut them together and everything

edited them put music to it and Made like one

big movie scene. And it's called club. And it's

basically all the dance club scenes from like

all these different movies. And it's edited so

well that it seems like it's all taking place

in the exact same location. Like it is a one

from blade. Yes. Okay, I wanted to know that.

Sorry. And the great thing about this is, I think

the I mean, they used some sort of some sort

of CG because they kind of put like a color filter

on some of the movies so that like every scene

sort of has the same colors in it. Yeah, like,

you know, like the pinks and oranges, like stuff

you typically see in like one of those wild dance

clubs or whatever. And there's just for an example

of some some characters that are in it, there's

You have Anakin and Obi -Wan like from the from

the Star Wars scene where they were Being stalked

by that bounty hunter and everything so you have

them walking in and then they have like a cut

of They cut to a lot of other characters. So

you start seeing like you see blade in the crowd

Just kind of standing there with like, you know

that huge trench coat on and everything They

also show they showed Tom Cruise walking around.

I believe it's from the movie collateral. Yeah

Yeah, it was in a dancing him and actually Jamie

Foxx, too so you see can see them in the crowd

they're like looking around with all the people

and They show they show Al Pacino actually in

two different two different movies one one older

version and What was the oh my gosh, I should

be shot for not knowing this but what? Yes, yes,

sorry He was you know sitting at the booth and

everything and everyone's dancing but this it's

all you know It looks like it's in the same exact

club. It's uncanny how they do this and They

even have like Hellraiser in there They have

Terminator remember the scenery walk the nightclub.

Oh my gosh. It's so amazing. There's so many

characters in this and And then you see like

De Niro Robert De Niro shows up Couple other

people too. There's a couple of their important

ones. Oh, there's even a younger Tom Cruise working

behind the bar cocktail CCM like throwing the

bottles up and stuff pouring the drinks and everything

you see John Travolta from session fever And

that the whole the whole video is it's to the

beat of staying alive They don't they don't play

the words, but they have the beat through the

whole thing So they show people dancing in the

club and everyone dancing, it's to the same song.

So you see John Travolta over there and a couple

of other different characters. What is it? I

think Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone, you see

them out there on the dance floor and everything

grind and all creepy like. And Michael Douglas

looked like he did the younger version of himself

and Ant -Man, which is kind of cool. Yeah, and

then like but there's a plot to it like if you

actually watch it's like they use the scenes

from these movies to like follow through the

Some sort of a loose plot. It's really fascinating

and the one part you see like the the bounty

hunter from Star Wars coming up behind Obi -Wan

and Anakin and like she has that gun right behind

him and like Obi -Wan Just spins around quick

and cuts her arm off with the lightsaber And

like everyone stops like the music stops and

they show everyone's head looking up like from

all the movies you see Tom Cruise De Niro Arnold

like everyone looks up blade looks up and then

like all of a sudden you see Anakin he's like

Official Jedi business. He's like go back to

your go back to your business and then the music

starts again and you see everybody it's Amazing.

It's so cool. It's it's definitely the best mashup.

I've ever definitely put that in the show No,

it's like you cash radio comm for people to check

out. So yes It's called Hell's Club. Sounds intriguing.

Sounds intriguing. Yeah. Well, that sounds like

it might have had a better plot than the movie

I watched, because I watched Fantastic Four,

the movie that came out this past summer, the

8 % on Rotten Tomatoes that it represents. And

honestly, I say that, but I got to say, I know

a lot of people have said this, but I don't think

it's nearly as bad as people have made it out

to be. You know, is it a good movie? No, it's

got issues, abundance of them. But I do think

there are elements of it that I liked. The way

I kind of describe it is like, if you showed

me this movie and you said, hey, this is a TV

pilot for an upcoming film, you know, upcoming

TV show, I'd be like, actually, you know, it

looks pretty good. One, this perfects our TV

level for the most part. But there are there's

just a lot of holes in it. Character wise, like

a lot of decisions don't make sense. There's

like a flash forward sequence. So there's a lot

of missing pieces. What I really liked about

it was just kind of the tone and the approach

they took. What I found was interesting was like

the idea of taking kind of the fantastica for

and treating the idea of getting those powers

almost as like a horrific experience there's

a specific scene of like you see Reed Richards

and he's like awoken and he has like his limbs

are just kind of Extended and it just looks freaky.

It looks kind of this Doesn't seem sort of yeah,

just very disturbing the way it looks and even

you know Ben Graham and Johnny Storm, there's

almost like, oh man, you feel for the guy because

there's this constant look of this dude on fire

and in pain. So I like that about it, but it

lacks any type of motivation. And I think too,

one thing I hate about it. I hate the strong

word, but one thing I really didn't like about

it was I hate when some really smart characters

make really dumb decisions for little motivation

and the reasoning behind them getting their powers

and the process of them doing it. It just seems

like these are like the smartest men, you know,

on the planet and they're just making some really

illogical decisions and not for very little reason

behind it. And it's like, I don't get why any

of this is happening and it's unnecessary. And

two, You know, there was a lot of talk about

Victor Von Doom, and I thought Toby Keble, you

know, was fine as that character. He didn't really

get much to do. But the character himself just

is so underdeveloped. The last like 30 minutes,

it's just this stuff just starts happening for

no apparent reason. And they also make him way

too powerful to the point where it's like. You

know, he can make people explode with his mind.

And once you're that powerful, it's like, how

do you stop a guy that like that? Like, how do

you stop a dude who can just make people explode

with their mind? Like, why is he unable to stand

up against them? So I would say maybe give it

a shot, perhaps. I don't know. It's something

you really need to rush out and see or I wouldn't

put it in the category of like the worst of the

worst, like Electra, you know, or that level.

But it. Yeah, I think it's, you know, it's mid

-range maybe. Like I would say it's on par with

the Hulk, Ang Lee's Hulk, that there are parts

of it that you're like, you know what, that was

kind of cool. And then something really stupid

happens and you're like, oh. Yeah, yeah. Like

as a whole, it's not that great, but there are

parts of it that you can really get by. You haven't

seen it, right? Or have you? No, I haven't seen

it. But I wanted to ask you, like, the impression

I got from the trailers was that it had sort

of a... Don't know like a darker more eerie tone

than the other Fantastic Four movies. There's

not like an ounce of humor at all I would say

there's maybe little things out there. I gotta

say I'm a huge Miles Hullers fan fan Like I loved

everything he's done. He is not a good. Mr. Fantastic.

He just doesn't work as that character It just

it really didn't work. It was really awkward

didn't quite Sound or act like a genius. You

didn't get that kind of or that aloofness you

would get with Reed Richards. It never felt like

he was comfortable with the role either. And

I mean, like I said, I like Miles Teller, but

it was just a bad casting in that end. Do you

think Joan Graffard was a lot better? Man, a

lot better is a strong word. I do think, though,

he did feel more comfortable in the role. So

I would probably say, yeah. Michael B. Jordan

was fine as Human Torch. Though, again, there's

just it was the writing and the inconsistencies

of the character. Sioux storm was okay But I

think worst of all none of them have chemistry

Like they don't really come together at all.

They don't feel like a team They I don't know

They just feel like four four people from four

different groups of friends trying to come together

and it just seems like no one likes each other

Four people stuck in an elevator together that

get exactly that was pretty much the Why didn't

we get cosmic powers when we got stuck in the

elevator? I don't know. I think because we are

seeing in the corners. Oh, we already got the

corners out. No, but one thing I'd liked about

the other Fantastic Four movies was like there

was a little bit of chemistry there between the

thing and Johnny Storm, like they like that sort

of playful, like squabbling and like busting

on each other. Like that was a key component

from the comics, which I. I love the fact that

they put that in there. That's one of the things

I like. They didn't have any of that at all except

for like one doorway line at the end, which was

kind of weird because Jamie Bell, who plays the

thing and like human torches never really even

interacted one another. It was like one of the

first times they met. So they didn't really have

that kind of give and take nearly as much. Yeah,

that's that's part of it, too. Jamie Bell or

Reed Richards and Jamie Bell or Ben Grimm kind

of grew up as friends as kids and then. Run into

Sue Storm and his two storms adopted father or

you know person who adopted her at a science

fair and So like literally that's what happens

and it's like I'll come to this like thank you

come to this Science gigantic science school

to learn how to teleport things. Yeah So glad

I got an A on my science project. Oh, yeah. Well

the judge It was even the judge. He was just

a dude who showed up to like a high school science

fair Just random stranger adopted me. He liked

mine so much So I remember talking about the

trailer like way back when and I remember thinking

it looked sort of like a space Odyssey like Does

it seem like that at all or not really? There's

kind of like the similar build -up, but they're

They don't spend much time, you would say, in

space. It's basically the negative zone. They

go there, they get their powers, and then that's

where the final action sequence takes place.

But there's never much exploration, per se, regarding

the science of it. You just see a lot of montages

of them putting things together, but no really

explanation that really... Makes sense. It's

just kind of like we're building this. It's like

your tropical Reed Richards is like I'm putting

things together and now it's magic and now we

can go to different dimensions Yeah, I was wondering

what those scenes were like with the rock I was

wondering if that was like a different planet

with all the rock surface It is a different planet

slash different dimensions. So they call it planet

one or something like that So I took it as a

negative very original kind of a different way

of that. But that's because it's like it was

a early It was like an Earth type of planet that

was very much in its early phases of being developed.

Yeah. So Planet One, they stayed up all night

to hear that one. Exactly. We're going to need

another planet soon. What should we call that

one? Oh god, this is tough. Let me think. How

about Planet One? I suppose it wasn't planet

to be named later. It's like, yeah. That would

be as you can still tell though with the movie

that it was gutted and There are pieces missing

and that like things were either cuts or it Yeah,

it does like I say if it would work It's like

a TV pilot because it's like you could fill in

those spaces in upcoming episodes with flashback

episodes or something like that but as a movie

you're just like Watch the directors cut DVD

be like 40 minutes longer. Yeah But I know I

do think though it it's selfish what I like to

call blown ranger syndrome where it's a movie

with a trouble production That's not that good

but then gets piled on because of all the trouble

production So people are just like ready to hate

it. So then now it's like the worst thing ever

But it's like yeah, it's a bad movie But let's

not like make it seem like it's like the worst

movie to come out this year or anything like

that Yeah, it's I would give it like a two out

of five type of rating, you know, yeah, it's

It's still not nearly as low as like, you know

something like that Exactly. So I think it's

better than Roger Corman one which apparently

people love now I'm like hearing a lot of people

saying well, that was the best one Mike. No,

it was awful. Stop it We liked that one before

anyone even like Yeah. I liked it as the fact

that it was hilariously bad. So, yeah. Yes. Hey,

what do you expect when you use a cut scene from

nuclear test footage as your explosion? Oh, man.

Exactly. What hopefully is funny on purpose is

what we'll talk about in just a short bit as

we count down our top five favorite TV skits

of all time, and we'll get to that right after

this short break. Hey, I'm Gary. I'm Mike. I'm

Chuck. And I'm Justin. Join the four of us every

What about sports? That sounds good. Yeah, that's

alright. Alright, and welcome back. Today we

have quite the task - Front of us as we are trying

to count down our top five favorite sketches

comedy sketches of all time And there are a ton

of them. I mean SNL has been on for 40 years

You have a living color to mad TV to SC TV to

Monty Python There's a ton and the key with this

too It's our favorite sketches not necessarily

what we considered the best because that's a

kind of a different list I would think but sometimes

I would think there's ones on mind that Gonna

help I think shape my comedy sensibility So they

may not be as infamous as some other sketches,

you know about but I find them funny So I'll

probably put some links on geocastreader .com

as well to some of these that Maybe you're not

aware of or ones that you are because it's always

it's always good to have a good laugh So but

before we get to the countdown, did you guys

have any criteria with your top five? Anything

you kind of looked at or you're just simply I

need some sketches that are funny. I looked at

pretty much like just my classic favorites over

the years. Which ones have I always like stopped

to watch whenever I come across them on YouTube,

on TV, whatever. Basically, which ones just made

me laugh like a crazy person. Greg, anything

for you? No, I just went with the ones that I

remember most clearly the ones that really stand

out in my head so it was it was kind of a knee

-jerk reaction of okay this one this one this

one this one and this one and then I had like

a whole list and then I just kind of sorted through

those sounds good I did something similar and

I would kind of also Affected me were ones that

I just constantly think of for no apparent reason

or I just find funny still today So I have some

that are you know from my childhood kind of to

ones that are recently Just ones that I see like

that I see myself quoting lines from even if

it's just inside my own head I think I'll actually

kick us off and I think I'll kick us off I'm

probably gonna kick us off with a sketch that

I don't think it's gonna be nearly as Popular

as a lot of ones we're gonna talk about because

it comes from a show that you know it Came out

in the infancy of Comedy Central when it was

first starting and it was one of the first shows

I ever watched in Comedy Central I'm not sure

if you guys ever saw this but it was called upright

citizens brigade. I Heard of people you probably

aware of Amy Poehler kind of it was a one of

the first big things she did She was one of the

members ratio sands as well on it and Matt Walsh

he was he was on it and he's actually in the

sketch I'm talking about it. It is very absurd

comedy Kind of like similar to kids in the hall.

Just some really strange things going on like

off the wall One of the sketches in that show

I've forgotten but this one I so for whatever

remember just because it It just makes no sense,

but it just becomes so hilarious. It's called

the astronaut sketch. The premises of it is that

there are these astronauts speaking as if they

would in an assembly, but it ends up becoming

this, the crowd begins to turn on them. And one

of the classic lines is like, I don't need astronauts

coming to my town to make my kids think that

they can't obey gravity. I'm not doing it any

justice at all. They're like, you guys are tang,

tang. drinkers it's probably put in the clip

right here but it's it's in fact the upright

citizens brigade is currently fighting a kind

of prejudice that never gets dealt with I'm talking

of course about prejudice against astronauts

please laugh it helps the healing now as we all

know NASA has been sending for man to walk on

the moon then we had been born to see me I agree

my community does not need astronauts to find

gravity in front of my children driving their

moon buggies through our neighborhoods all time

at night, playing that theme to 2001 really loud

on their Cosmo Blasters. Astronauts is. This

is a perfect example of what's going on. There

was a serious cultural clash in this country.

So in the spirit of opening those lines of communication.

I'd like to introduce you all right now to a

real astronaut, Lieutenant Mike Birchwood. Mike,

come on up, Mike. It's hilarious just the absurdity

of it. The reason it kind of comes to my mind,

because every time I think of NASA or something

like that, or any time I hear a story about space,

this sketch comes to my mind. And it's not, like

I said, an all time classic, but it helped shape

my sense of humor, just loving random things.

So I don't know. Sounds like it would be pretty

funny. All righty. Let's move on to Chuck. You're

number five. I don't know if you've ordered them

or not, or if you're just going bit by bit. I

guess it's not any particular order. I kind of

went a little bit. My last one will be my favorite.

I'll just say that. But for now, I'll see. I'll

do this one. This is from a very popular show

that I know we all watched on high school and

college. And it was one of my favorite skits

from the show. Whose line is it anyway? And that

is the game of sound effects. Pretty much no

specific one, but just the game of sound effects.

I really would do that game. And for whatever

reason, these things would make me laugh so hard

because if you if you don't remember the show,

they would pick two random people out of the

audience and bring them up and they would have

Colin Mockery and Ryan Stiles acting out a scene

and two people they picked from the audience

had to make sound effects for whatever they were

doing. And, you know, they had two microphones.

They each had one and they were assigned like

one person would do Ryan's and the other person

would make some effects for Colin. And it was

just hilarious because these people have no experience

at all, you know, using a microphone even, but

let alone making sound effects. And, you know,

they'd make just the craziest sounds. And then

the funniest part about it was just the way that

Colin and Ryan always adjusted to it. Like they

would adjust what they're doing in their scene

to convey like whatever sound effects they made.

And it was freaking hilarious. Like there's a

there's one where Ryan and Colin were supposed

to be Superman and Lois Lane. That was pretty

hilarious. There's one where Ryan is Indiana

Jones and Colin is like his, you know, some.

supposed to be some hot girl that he's with or

something. And that was pretty hilarious, too.

But any of those sound effects ones, I just think

they're hilarious because the people they pick

from the audience and it's totally at random,

but they're just horrible at making these sound

effects. They're often old women for whatever

reason. Yes, they do pick a lot of old women.

I think maybe that's on purpose. But and it's

funny, like if something's supposed to like click

or something, like instead of doing the sound,

they'll say like click. And then you'll see like

Ryan and be like, Oh, there's supposed to be

something wrong with this, you know? And they're

like, they keep doing it. It's just the adjustments

they made are hilarious. That was always one

of my favorite games. It'd be kind of funny if

they did it and then they get someone like Michael

Wilson by accident who's like really good at

it. They're like, this isn't as funny when it's

actually effective. It's not. Yeah, it definitely

makes the whole game, the fact that the people

suck at it. Very nice, very nice. Yeah, nothing

like sucking at games. Unfortunately, that's

why my fantasy football team is hilarious. All

right, Greg, moving on to you. What's on your

list number five? On my list, it's very much

repeated constantly in pop cultural references

and just random kids. everywhere know this one

no matter their age and it has to do with an

old VH1 show called Behind the Music and they

are doing Behind the Music of a band called Blue

Oyster Cult and it has, it had Jimmy Fallon,

Will Ferrell in it and Christopher Walken was

the special guest. And Christopher Walken's unique

speech pattern also adds to the humor of it.

And I am of course talking about the infamous

cowbell sketch. You always find Will Ferrell

showing up with cowbells. He shows up on SNL

during the music portions when the musical guest

is playing. He'll show up on other shows where

they have musical guests playing and he'll show

up with his cowbell. But it had some great lines.

Very memorable. I love the fact that Jimmy Fallon

is cracking up the entire time. It's always hilarious

when they break. And Jimmy Fallon seems to do

it most often. But got to get me some of that

cowbell baby. I love too about that sketch is

like the shirt Will Ferrell was wearing. It's

just like just small enough. I know it's got

to hang on the bottom. It's just perfect. Yeah.

I love the I love the Christopher Walken line

when he's like, he's like, I put my pants on

just like the rest of you one leg at a time.

Once my once my pants are on, I make little records.

So great. Yeah, that one. Bruce and I think actually

had on my list. Very nice. Yeah, it's it had

to be mentioned. So very good. Very good I mean,

I remember being I worked at Macy's and we have

like cowbell t -shirt. It did it was like a phenomenon

that became it's it's interesting because it's

such a random concept It's just but it ends up

working. So that's something that's usually when

it's announced that's best when it's not trying

to you know, when it's just like letting idea

work, but My next one is again is actually probably

from the first get show I ever watched and I

know Chuck You're not a Muppets fan, but I'm

not sure if Greg if you are and It's a show and

it's not I guess it's loosely comedy But it's

one of those sketches that once you hear it It's

gonna get stuck in your head and it's the phenomena

sketch It's so simple It's such a little small

beat, but it's genius in that end. It's lasted

the test of time. Again, as a kid, it just...

I found it hilarious because it's puppets making

a weird sound and somehow it ends up being funny

and it's you've seen people try to repeat that

type of success with the Muppet Show and things

like that. But there's not much I remember from

the show when I first saw it, but that is certainly

one that stuck with me and I still enjoy it.

I know even like they play it at some sports

games and things like that when like things are

getting boring and just that jingle. It's hard

to get. I'm not even going to say it too much

because it'll be stuck in my head forever. Yeah,

you don't know you don't Know and I'll keep my

explanation simple because there's not really

much else to say about it beyond that It's just

a straight pretty straightforward sketch. All

right, Chuck moving on to you. What's your what's

your number four? Let's see, I'm gonna go my

number four one Is actually this one from mad

TV, which I was a huge fan of back in the day

and I think during that time In my opinion, anyway,

mad TV was way better than SNL. At least for

that particular time in the like in the early

2000s there, I really loved a lot of the stuff

they were cranking out late 90s, early 2000s.

And one of my favorites has always been Lorraine.

Yeah. Played by Mo Collins. And it was just this

older lady that was just. So like nosy that she

was always like checking stuff out. She had to

get up close and personal and like check everything

out she was always like banging on stuff like

To try to like see how sturdy it was or something

for some reason and she's always making these

weird noises Like she always made this weird

noise. It was like What are you doing it was

hilarious she goes to the one the one she goes

to the dentist Every time he goes to put the

tools in her mouth. She makes that noise Like

obviously like the dentist jumps back and everything

I think the dentist was one of my favorite ones

and then there was another one where she goes

to a buffet and She's like up underneath the

glass looking at the food and everything And

she like and she goes Like cops all over the

food and everything like all these people are

there they like walk away. It's I can't describe

I'm definitely not doing it justice, but It's

just her demeanor and the way she pulls off this

character is amazing. I always thought it was

hilarious and She was probably always one of

my favorite female Comedy sketch actors. Yeah,

I agree that she had some really good I felt

was there one that she was out in like real life

and in the public or something like that and

Yes, there was well if it's the one I'm thinking

of she I guess her son was going to college and

She was interviewing random students on the college

campus To see what the college was like for if

it was good enough for her son and like Apparently

her husband was there but you never see him her

husband's name is Carl and she's all like yelling

boom like hey Carl check this out, you know and

a freaking hilarious There's a hot the hot tub

one is hilarious too. Did you ever see the hot

tub one? Maybe I don't This couple this couples

on their honeymoon and they're in the hot tub

and she She friggin shows up and gets in the

hot tub with them and she is so annoying to them.

She keeps pestering them and everything It's

hilarious. You gotta check that one out You two

enjoying the suds there? Oh yeah, yeah we were

Well, I saw you from up on the balcony there.

You look so lonely down here. Well, actually,

we're not lonely at all. We're on our honeymoon,

so... Holy wats, huh? That's cute. So what is

this big, big boxy basket? All right, Greg, moving

on to you. What is next on your list? I've got

another kind of musical one. I guess I've been

going with that, but it's it's actually something

quite recent Part of SNL's digital shorts, and

it's an actual Well, formed together, I think,

from the stitches and everything. It's Lonely

Island's Dick in the Box. It's Jimmy Fallon,

Justin Timberlake, kind of 80s boy bands type

of situation going on, and they just have this

hilarious situation of... presenting their penises

in a box. Who doesn't like receiving that gift?

I know I didn't at the bottom. And now I'm ready

To lay it on the line Wow, you know it's Christmas

And my heart is open wide Open wide Gonna give

you something So you know what's on my mind What's

on my mind A gift for your special So take off

the towel Take a look inside Is my dick in a

box? It's in a box Not gonna get you a diamond

ring That sort of gift don't mean anything Not

gonna get you a fancy car Girl you gotta know

you're my shining star Not gonna get you a house

in the hills A girl like you needs something

real Wanna get you something from the heart Something

special girl It's my dick in a box My dick in

a box babe It's my dick in a Hey, you know, you

gotta you gotta get presents to your cup Wait

a minute, I think you left Very cool. Well, I'm

gonna get to when I probably got the ones that

we're kind of off the wall a little bit But this

one is might be on your guys's list. I'm not

sure Might be odd, but it's from I think probably

one of the best comedy sketches going shows on

right now. That's key and peel And they have

a lot of great stuff and there's a lot to choose

from but I think this is it's kind of an obvious

choice because it's probably their most famous

famous sketch, but I also find it it's Just in

a small way. I have a personal connection to

it and it is substitute teacher All right, listen

up y 'all. I'm y 'all substitute teacher. Mr.

Garvey I taught school for 20 years in the inner

city, so don't even think about messing with

me. Y 'all feel me? Mm -hmm. Okay, let's take

a roll here. J. Quellen. Where's J. Quellen at?

No J. Quellen here? Yeah. Uh, do you mean Jacqueline?

Okay, so that's how it's gonna be. Y 'all wanna

play? Okay, then. I've got my eye on you, Jake

Cullen. Balake. Where is Balake at? There's no

Balake here today. Yes, sir. My name's Blake.

Are you out of your goddamn mind? Yes. Yes. I

was hoping. It is quite amazing as someone who

taught before and who's taught in different communities

and whatnot. It was classic. A .A. Ron. I mean,

come on now. A .A. Ron. Balake. Chikwele. Basically,

he just keeps mispronouncing people's names.

Principal O'Shaughnessy. It's like, no. Yeah.

Oh, I'm yeah. Again, it's kind of unfair. Just

that is it is quite funny. Ironically, I knew

someone who was called literally called a Aaron.

We were calling them Aaron, but no, their name

was Aaron. And that was amazing. So I think there's

three of them, if I'm not mistaken. I think the

first. Oh, there's three. OK, I've seen that.

I've seen two or three. I thought there was three.

I'm not sure, but I remember the. The second

one is good, but it's not as good. I mean, it's

hard to do that twice. The second one, I think,

is where they're all they're trying to get out

of class or something. They have like a yearbook

meeting stuff like that. Yeah. And they won't

let them. And the one guy's like, I have to go

pick up my kid. Yeah. So I do love that. That's

kind of like the thing that kind of made them

huge. I would assume. I mean, they have a lot

of great ones. You can pick and choose, but.

And what was up with your teacher? I like their

racist zombies. These are some motherfucking

racist zombies. They have some really good skits.

Yeah, I'm sad this is their last season, so that's

kind of sad. All right, Greg, what's... No, wait,

sorry. Chuck, what's next on your list? Next

on my list? I'm going to go with a... Another

mad TV skit and this was it wasn't really a running

skit like Like Stuart or Lorraine or any of those

other ones? This was kind of a one -shot deal,

but I thought this one was always hilarious And

that is can I have your number? I don't know

if you guys remember that one It's basically

this creepy guy this It's a black guy, but it's

actually played by a woman. Her name is Nicole

Randall Johnson. But she plays a great part.

And she plays this dude that is hitting on this

girl at a movie theater. And he goes in and he

sees her sitting down in the front row. And his

eyes open up. I keep saying him. The character

is him, but the actress is a woman that plays.

you see his eyes open wide and everything and

he's like looking and he goes he goes oh damn

and like she doesn't turn around and then he's

like louder he's like oh damn and she turns around

and like all of a sudden he's like right next

to her and he's like can i have your number what's

up oh yeah uh my name derail it's spelled like

darryl but it's pronounced derail uh yeah i just

want to let you know the back of your head is

ridiculous Thanks. Yeah, you are welcome. Where's

your boyfriend? What? Who? Your boyfriend. Where

your boyfriend at? Is he getting you refreshments?

Is he tall? Is he getting you Mike and Ikes?

Are you like Mike and Ikes? Is he hefty? Is he

coming back? Where your boyfriend? Where your

boyfriend at? Where your boyfriend? I don't have

a boyfriend. Oh, you don't? Oh, you don't have

a boyfriend? Oh, okay. Okay, okay, that's cool,

yeah. So, listen, um, I was wondering, can I

have your number? Can I have your number? Oh,

it's freaking hilarious, and she's trying to,

like, obviously, like, push him away, because

she's like, no, I'm kind of just here to, like,

watch this movie by myself, like, you know, this

is my day off from work and everything. He's

like, oh, okay, I get you, I get you. Yeah, I

got that. And, like, he'll leave for, like, a

second, and then he comes back and he's like,

so, uh, can I have your number? And he's just

so creepy with the eyes and everything like it's

hilarious definitely higher Yeah, I've not heard

of that when you were talking about the the one

time sketch I was thinking of the one when they

tried to teach actually, it's key how to drive

with Bobby Lee I was actually watching that today

and it's like Bobby Lee for some reason keeps

trying to get naked because for no And that's

the clock and that's pretty much yeah, yeah and

another minute would be 1201 and that's how the

clock works Anyways, alright Greg moving on over

to you. What is your number four? three Number

three is classic it involves The man, the myth,

the legend, Chris Farley. And I think we all

know this one. I don't think we could say much

more than that. He's living in a van down by

the river. Oh, yeah. Perfect. And once again,

there is somebody breaking in that, and that

is David Spade covering up his face the entire

time as Chris Farley is falling through the furniture.

I love when that happens. It's just great. He

is the greatest at physical humor, and I have

another Chris Farley one that's coming up that

most certainly shows off his physical humor side,

which I think is even better. Yeah, that's Chris

Farley at his best. There's actually a documentary

that came out this year about him I wanted to

check out. I haven't seen it yet. sad sad to

see him go because when he was on like there

was no one funnier he was just so naturally funny

like you know you see people try to do Chris

Farley but no one can no one can so yeah no there's

nothing like the original very nice yeah i'm

glad glad Chris Farley's getting some love because

he's he's had a lot of great sketches back in

the in the 90s with him and spade and wow sandler

and whatnot so It's very cool. All right. Well,

we're already kind of getting down to the nitty

-gritty already my number two and I don't know

this one's on yours, but it's probably my first

Saturday Night Live sketch but sketch and it's

one of I guess Maybe what made me fall in love

with Saturday Night Live when you talk about

like Chuck You mentioned ones that you stop and

go to you like if I hear this one in the background

when it was on like I would Stop over everything.

I was doing to go check it out. It was like the

one reason I went to watch SNL I'm like, I hope

this they do it this week I hope they do it this

week and it's not just one particular one, but

it's celebrity jeopardy I'll take the tits now

for 800 That's let it snow It's a French expression.

Bonjour, mademoiselle. I'd like to see the tits

now. There are so many of them, like obviously

anyone with Burt Reynolds or Sean Connery. So

many like you talk about quoting lines. I mean,

S words for 2000. That's swords, John. The penis,

my dear. No appetite. I'll take the rapist for

20. That's a therapist. Exactly. Actually, I'll

join in with you on this one because this was

my number two as well. Do you have a favorite?

I know there's a lot to choose from. Any favorite

characters that would show up in the Celebrity

Deputy? I think, let's see, Sean Connery was

in every one pretty much. I don't know. I liked...

I thought French Stewart was pretty good. Yeah,

for sure. It was good. I like the, uh, Oh my

gosh. What's his name? Jeff Goldblum. That was

pretty great. That was a great, great impression.

Yeah. Uh, what do you call it? When you, uh,

medieval times, you would put them in the, uh,

on the square. You mean the stocks are a pillory.

Yes, that's it. It's a fricking hammer. That's

great. Yeah, and also like obviously Burt Reynolds

when he came on as turd Ferguson that you see

too recently there was actually In the final

real jeopardy final jeopardy question. Someone

didn't know the answer. So they put Ferguson

as their response. Yes The lady's my hero now.

She should have won because Yeah, I think like

I don't think a lot of people got it cuz like

for whatever reason maybe people have forgotten

because it's been so long or whatever but Like,

how do you not know what this is? Like, this

is hilarious. I saw they did like a musical one.

I remember the one time like Dave Matthews was

there. And then also Sean Connery, who was like

he released an album just to be on that show

or something. I'll take a bump cover. That's

an album cover. Oh, that's a good time. What

about you? That means Terry Ferguson or Burt

Ronald to me was like, Norm MacDonald. Burt Ronald's

on point. It's great. Jimmy Fallon had a pretty

good Adam Sandler like that. Yeah. He's a good

impressionist. Man, there's a lot. Oh, how about

Ben Stewart? Ben Stiller as Tom Cruise? That's

like the one impression he does pretty well.

Yeah. Bjork I remember it like I forget who did

it was a Renault writer who had Bjork that was

She was kind of weird. Oh, yeah Yeah, very didn't

they do it. Oh, they did Bill Cosby once too

Well, they did it on the 40th anniversary with

Kenan Thompson and it was supposed to be Eddie

Murphy doing it, but he turned it down and he

wouldn't do it. So They had to do it. It was

like it was a video sketch and it was like how

to mix a drink or something like that. I think

actually I think they had Bill Cosby and the

older ones too, I think, because I remember like

I remember on the final Jeopardy thing of like

what he wrote. I remember Trebek reading it and

it's like, let's see what he wagered. It's. Friesel

frazzle. It always cracked up. That was such

a great skip. All right. So yeah, we will share

the same number too. Greg, what about you? What's

next on your list? My second one is... Is a Monty

Python sketch which is a classic and they also

redid it on SNL like they they did the the sketch

during SNL which was No one was laughing. I'm

like this is Yeah, no one in the crowd was laughing

at it. It was so bizarre You know people just

don't appreciate good comedy these days, but

it is This parrot is no more. It has ceased to

be. It's not pain and it's passed on. This parrot

is no more. It has ceased to be. It's expired

and gone to meet its maker. This is a late parrot.

It's a stiff... And he's slamming the dead parrot

on the countertop. It was just hilarious. I love

British humor and Monty Python always does it

for me when it comes to British humor. I loved

all of their movies and everything, but The Parrot

Is No More is a classic. Yeah, definitely. It's

one of the pioneers, for sure, of sketch comedy

is Mighty Python. I never really watched it as

a kid. I remember seeing the commercials all

the time because they would have a special set

or something they would always try to sell. It

was a good time. Are you making it down to our

number one and my number one was kind of hard

but I ended up going with this choice because

I am a fan of I like I like to know like political

comedy and I gotta say what SNL is not as best

it's when it has good political comedy and Not

necessarily one way or the other but just using

the political comment as a as a tool to make

jokes and I don't think it was ever better than

in the 2000s when they had the presidential debates

with Al Gore and George Bush and, you know, Darrell

Hammond and Will Ferrell as George Bush and Darrell

Hammond as Al Gore. Both of those guys, you know,

they were able to make great characters. You

know, all those candidates, Dale Hammond made

Al Gore interesting, which is hilarious. But

what was awesome about it was taking like what

actually happened in the baits, but kind of just

tweaking it a little bit and making it hilarious.

And they came out in 2000, you know, right when

you were in high school, which is like the perfect

age for me when it comes to like SNL, because

that's usually when you kind of discovering your

type of sense of humor. To this day, you know,

I look forward to. SNL trying to do political

sketches or political baits like that. I don't

think they've ever come that close since. It

was able to like deal with politics, but not

necessarily be one side or the other. It's just

kind of making fun of the system and themselves

or the characters themselves. And, you know,

Farrell's George Bush is so it's funny. It's

a good time. He's got that just the facial expressions,

which are priceless. So it's the one I go back

to a lot. And again, it's set the bar for me

when it comes to like Well, you know presidential

impersonations and things like that and then

the last one was perfect because I got Daryl

and that's how I'm in but I'm what's his name?

Yeah, the last part because Dana Carvey shows

up as you know as George Bush senior and it just

puts it all together so That when they put in

at this job exactly. So that just It tied it

all together for me. So that was my that's been

my all -time favorite sketches or those I don't

know if you guys remember those at all or any

they come to mind or I do yeah, I remember that

was uh, that was pretty big at that time. There

was a lot of And it was huge too because there

was such a like the political climate was so

kind of uh Hectic and you know, there was a huge

split So it was good to have that because I felt

like it was something that everyone could kind

of laugh at equally. So You gotta love the lockbox.

So All right, Chuck move it on to you. What is

your number one? Well, let's see. My number one

is yet another mad TV. Really? Wow. Mad TV representatives.

Yes. Yeah, I had, well, I had celebrity Jeopardy

from SNL. I actually had cowbell on my list,

but I put something else in there just to mix

it up a little bit. But I would say cowbells

on there too. But number one, this is definitely

my favorite sketch of all time. And this was

a reoccurring sketch that there's many, many

little episodes of it, I guess you would say.

And that is Coach Hinds. Nice, nice. By far my

favorite. I love these sketches. If you've never

seen Coach Hinds, you're really missing out.

It's basically this psycho gym teacher at high

school. And he's the he's the coach is a basketball

coach. He's the football coach and he's the gym

teacher. He's the. detention guy after school.

He does everything and he's so extreme with everything

he does. You got to check out this guy's getup

too because he's got a yellow polo shirt with

really, really short blue shorts. And then he's

wearing a tie with the polo shirt. And then he's

got the end of the tie tucked into the shorts.

And really high socks, too, like knee socks.

It's Keen Michael Key, the guy from Keen Field.

Yeah. And I think that's kind of what launched

him into his, I guess, stardom or whatever you

want to call it. But that was one of his early

successes by far. You can certainly see the similarities

with that character and his character from The

Substitute Teacher. Oh, yeah, definitely. Yeah,

I definitely got some inspiration from that.

But Coach Hines is just hilarious. There's so

many. There's got to be at least 10 of them,

I think. Maybe even more. But some of my funny

ones, I remember like. The one where they were

actually at a basketball game. He was coaching

like from the sideline And he's just like during

the game like his players are like goofing up

high school basketball teams They're making little

mistakes and he's like screaming like threats

at his place And one of the like one of the recurring

characters and it was Bobby Lee who played a

kid named Yamanashi So he kept like, he would

keep screaming at Yamanashi. Like it was a recurring

thing in all these skits. And like the, I remember

the basketball game one, he's like, Yamanashi,

I'm going to cut off your scrotum and make a

coin purse out of it. You just say really like

vulgar obscene things like right, like out of

left field. It was fricking hilarious. And then

there's like, I remember there was two, uh, Two

older ladies like behind him in the crowd that

were like Criticized in the way he was coaching

or whatever and he turns her and he's like, all

right you two Outside after the game double homicide

He's just so extreme and I guess one of the one

of the reasons I like it so much too was for

the one particular episode They have an assembly

in the auditorium. I know. I'm sure your teachers

have informed you all the reason we're at this

assembly. Yesterday afternoon, there was yet

another near riot during fifth period gym class

involving a number of our students. And we intend

to get to the bottom of this. Now, I personally...

Cintola! Yeah. I see you. Secure it, son. Secure

it, okay? You want to talk? We can talk after

school during detention, huh? You think you'd

like that? No? Then you keep it zipped. Thank

you, Coach Hines. Thank you. And it kind of reminded

me of the assemblies that we used to have in

our auditoriums, just how crazy they were. And

like, in this sketch, like, he keeps interrupting

the principal while he's giving his speech because

there's kids, like, the audience, like... messing

around and screwing off and everything so he

would just literally cut off the principal and

just yell out at somebody's like yamanashi i

see you chewing that gum and you just you just

freak out like for no apparent reason and it

just you keep interrupting him it's just hilarious

i would watch as many coach hinds videos as you

can it is hilarious yeah they're quite good quite

good very nice very nice all right greg moving

on to you finishing up here what is your number

one Well, I said it was gonna be another Chris

Farley one coming up and Chris Farley is my number

one it's I believe one of his first appearances

on Saturday Night Live and You can tell it's

his first appearance because he is just putting

it all on the line He wants to make a good impression

and he makes an outstanding impression We have

one of Chuck's favorite actors guest starring

in this one I'm not coming up with his name.

Patrick Swayze? Patrick Swayze, thank you. I

kept coming up with Kurt Russell for some reason.

But Patrick Swayze is in it. And he is a Chippendales

dancer. And it's down to the final two. And it's

between Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze. And

just looking at the both of them just side by

side, both have their shirts off. No matter how

good Patrick Swayze looks, how well he dances.

Chris Farley always wins that in my mind because

he is just hilarious. His moves for a big man

are just amazing. He is like a super powered

being in that that skit. It's just the energy.

It's it's just incredible. If you do not know

about that one, you've been living in the dark

somewhere and you're an idiot. Like, yeah, I'm

really slamming them. Yeah, and like Swayze has

like his like line mane of hair in it. Oh, yeah,

his hair that is absolutely gorgeous. It does

look like a lion's mane. I love how at the end

of that they're like congratulating each other.

Like Patrick Swayze is congratulating him because

he's like, I think he got it, man. It's just

so ridiculous. And I felt so bad for Chris Farley

at the end of that. Yeah, and then of course

Kevin Nealon, he's like, he's like, well, it

was a really tough discussion. You know, you

guys were really close. Any honorable mentions

for any of you guys? Yeah, I have a couple of

honorable mentions. I know obviously you had

one on your list, which was substitute teacher.

I wanted to, I was glad somebody brought that

up because that one is hilarious. Also, I used

to love the Steven Seagal sketches on Mad TV

with Will Sasso. Oh, they're freaking hilarious.

He would squint his eyes and he would have his

hair slicked back and everything. Those are so

funny there. There was quite a few of them, too.

And some of them actually had they had David

Carradine on there and stuff. And I remember

him like snapping everybody's neck and the ones

to get and stuff. When I had to sleep over with

it's like, is it Seagal or? Uh, with all the

action stars, it's like Schwarzenegger and they're

having a sleepover or something like that. I

think Van Dam might've been in there or something.

Uh, yeah, those were always funny. I think he

did one, there was one with, uh, a guy that played

Van Dam too, where they were like brothers and

they're like, they had to team up to fight somebody

or something. That was pretty funny. So those

were good. And then probably my last one was,

uh, A show that I haven't mentioned yet, which

is In Living Color. One of the great skits I

like from that show is Haemon. You're familiar

with that at all? That's with Damon Wayans. He

was, him and his family, they were like a Jamaican

family. And every skit that they did, they would

always be like operating some new business. And

they're always bragging about how many jobs they

all have. Like, I got 15 jobs, man. And they

keep going on and like bragging and everything.

And, you know, the girl says she like meets a

guy. And the first thing her father asked is

like, how many jobs do you have? And she's like,

only one job, only one job. They're like freaking

out. It was hilarious. There's some other ones

that that they did in there, too. They're they're

next to. they're in this like strip mall and

they're next to this Korean family that has like

a flower shop and they're like competing like

who's like the harder -working family and everything

and they get in like arguments and stuff that

one's really funny so yeah but hey hey mon from

in living color that one's that was really good

too yeah any anyone to you greg um not really

skip but um but uh i really uh like the Robert

Schmiegel cartoons, especially Ace and Gary,

the ambiguously gay duo. I don't think it's really

a skit, but I really love those. Also, Insults,

Comic Dog. I'm trying to think of other stuff.

Any commercial stuff that they did on SNL was

really great. Oops, I Crapped My Pants is one

of my all -time favorites. It's Oops, I Crapped

My Pants. That was good, yeah. When the grandma

is walking away and she's got a diaper full.

But yeah, anything like that was really good

for me. Money Python, anything they had going

on was really great. I agree. Some of the ones

that come to mind, I was the delicious dish was

really funny with Alec Baldwin. It's kind of

like what made him do comedy in a lot of ways.

Oh, you know, it's a sorry. I didn't mean to

run either. How about the SNL skit? Another Farley

one. The bears. That's a great one, too. All

the super fans. We know that it was pretty funny

one, too. And even though I'm not a huge Ray

Romano fan, there was a skit with him doing being

an SNL anchor, but saying like really appropriate

things. Like, oh, the one I was going to say.

Again, I don't know if it was kind of a skit,

but any like normal McDonald's weekly weekend

update. So yeah, I mean, there's probably a bunch

that we're forgetting. But yeah, there's there's

always going to have that. All right. but yeah

so those those are our top five favorite tv sketches
