About this Episode

The hosts dive into a collection of bizarre and strange news stories from around the world, ranging from dumb criminals to unusual tourist attractions to space-age research. They discuss a Florida man who vandalized police cars with his own name, the Goonies house in Oregon being overrun by visitors, animals allegedly used for espionage, NASA's research into converting human waste into food for space travel, a convenience store clerk defending against machete-wielding teens with a sword, a stolen surgical table from a hospital, a parrot arrested in India for cursing at an elderly woman, and more. The hosts frequently break into bad jokes throughout the episode, and they close with a tribute to Maryland's Batman, a real-life superhero who did charitable work before being struck by a car.

Hey, this is Bill Corrales from the Sketches

Indiegogo campaign and you're listening to Talking

in Circles on the Geekcast Radio Network. You

are now on the inside of what I like to call

the circle of trust. We are all connected in

a great circle of life. You know something Bert?

What? I think you and I are going in circles.

It feels like we're going in circles. The circuit

is now complete. When I left you, I was about

to learn you. Now I am the master. Because it's

a circle. Yeah, we heard about the circle. Yeah,

that's what the million would change. Hi, this

is Greg. This is Chuck. And this is Dan, and

we are Talking in Circles brought to you by the

Keycast Radio Network. the podcast it's all about

the weird at least this week because today we

are going to be talking about some strange and

weird news stories that have occurred across

the world but before we get to all the weird

stuff let's go over what you guys have been up

to in the past week so how's things been with

you all uh pretty good i actually got to go on

a little mini vacation nice nice i didn't think

i was actually gonna be able to have one this

summer but it was sort of a last minute thing

that uh my parents invited me to go along on

and Went to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Nice. That's

a that's a very historical for more than one

reason for us because we one of our first trips

in college was to Gettysburg because you know

That's some people go to Fort Lauderdale. We

go to Gettysburg. So we roll We're just that

cool. Yeah I will say I learned way more this

time going to Gettysburg than I did with you

guys. Really? I don't know about that. I can't

imagine. Well, I learned more about the battle

of Gettysburg, let's put it that way. A lot of

more life lessons learned last time, so. Right.

And for some reason, you don't learn a whole

lot of educational things when you're hanging

out with your friends and you're like 18. I'm

not sure why, but. Exactly. But no, it was cool

because. Actually, since we've been down there,

well, Dan, you mentioned you've been down there

somewhat recently. I went there, I went for like

a night a few years ago. I stayed a little bed

and breakfast and it was weird because there

was some anniversary, I think it was the anniversary

of the Gettysburg Address or something like that.

So there's all these people and all this garb

and whatnot. So we went out to eat for dinner

in this class, one of the... Old classic restaurants

and it was really weird because we're like in

normal clothes and everyone around us is like

all up in like You know Civil War garb and I'm

like I feel like I and back in time I'm like

in quantum leap or something like that. But uh

Well since since we've all been there as a group

apparently they've built this huge visitor center

slash museum and I don't know if you saw that

when you were down there, but this place is absolutely

humongous and it's the place to go when you first

get down there because I was like, oh let's stop

at the visitor center and then we'll figure out

what we want to do and We go to this place and

it's absolutely ginormous So you go in and there's

like all these lines for tickets for different

things that it's like totally different than

last time but uh go into the museum and stuff

and they actually take you into they have a small

movie theater in there and You go in and watch

a short movie about Like the Civil War and Battle

of Gettysburg. It's probably only like 20 minutes

long narrated, of course, by none other than

Morgan Freeman. I am Morgan Freeman. I was actually

alive during the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln was

my friend Literally I grew up with So that was

a good time we get to watch that and then you

know, the museum actually is really really nice

they have tons of stuff in there took us a while

to go through it and you know, of course we Walked

the town didn't do any ghost tours, unfortunately,

but Yeah, my stepmother was, she's a little freaked

out by that stuff. So she really didn't want

anything to do with it. But, you know, we get

to tour the Eisenhower farm again, which is one

of my favorite things down there. And, uh, obviously

battlefield tour and stuff. And, um, there's

no, there's no lack of monuments and fields.

You see any monuments there at all? And I, in

the little educational book thing that I bought,

um, actually said, I think there are. I want

to say 1 ,400 monuments. Which is, I had no idea

there were even that many. One for each person

that was there. Everyone gets a monument. You

get a monument, you get a monument. And then

we kind of ended everything with eating at this

great buffet place and we totally stuffed our

faces and it was awesome. It was a really great

trip. Nice cool cool Greg. Have you been out?

Have you been up to anything or is Chuck gonna

top us all this week? Chuck probably tops us

all but I witnessed a different type of battlefield

No, it's it's a battlefield of insects I think

said incest I'm like, whoa That is a rough battlefield

I think you would have topped us all if that

was happening But yeah, there seems to be a lot

of gnats around this year for some reason. Gnats,

fruit flies, the little tiny little bugs. They

seem to be floating around a lot and they seem

to have taken over my house for the most part.

And so there's this also we get spiders down

the cellar. So my dad has been like, don't kill

this one spider. He's killing all the gnats for

us. And like he's in the shower downstairs in

the basement. We don't really get much spiders

up in the main part of the house. But in the

basement, we get spiders. So the spider has been

hanging out in a window. So my dad's like, don't

kill him. So I've taken to naming fighter. Is

it Charlotte? No, I did not name him Charlotte.

I named him Victor. I don't know why. It just

kind of came to me though one day as I was out

of the shower, drying myself off and because

he has the spoils. I guess. He's got a whole

bunch of gnats on the window sill that's like

his dining for the next month. And actually,

he's gotten huge over the past week or two. You

should have called him Cole. Oh Get it cuz yeah

Okay Move it on But I named him Victor and my

parents have finally decided that Victor isn't

getting the job done enough so they got these

like they're like big Sticky pieces of tape that

hang from the ceiling or whatever. You've probably

seen them. Oh, yeah. I remember when I used to

work at a Donut shop We would have those they're

healthy Yeah, they're gross -looking, but they

do a really good job. And so they kind of hung

one in the area where Victor's at. Victor's not

getting stuck in it, by the way. But it's kind

of funny. You guys will probably be able to guess

the name of the company that makes these little

strips that hang down from the ceiling. Is it

Vector? No, it's Victor. It's Victor. Nice. So

I don't know if I got some kind of telepathic

communication to the owners of this company or

what, but we've got a couple of Victors hanging

out killing Nats for us downstairs in the basement.

Nice, nice. Yeah, I thought that you're going

to say that we brought in some additional spiders.

It's like, you know, I hired some got through

some, some of the mail. Yeah. I brought in the

black widow. Nice. The seal team six of spiders.

Wow, yeah, I got I got really nothing I've been

kind of not that busy The biggest thing that

happened to us recently is that we completely

got rid of cable So now all we have is like stream.

We have an Amazon fire stick, which is actually

pretty cool and Just an antenna, but it was interesting

because I was going through like the antenna

channels Did you know like there's all these

new networks that like popped up like Blizzard

TV and grit TV and like me TV like all these

weird network names I'm like, I didn't even know

this was like a thing. So I've heard of me TV.

Yeah, there's this one that's like grits That

is like all Western stuff. I'm like, it's weird

because it's a broadcast network network, but

It's odd. Like what is this? I know Robert Rodriguez.

All right. Yeah. Yeah ray. Yeah, that's a cable.

Yeah Yeah, I actually listened to him on the

nurse podcast that was a really good nurse podcast

I think everybody should listen to but yeah,

there's a whole bunch of new like networks out

there Yeah, it's weird because these are like,

you know using broadcasts like the Fox or ABC

NBC So I don't know so that's how boring my life

is right now is I am amazed Better than your

last week damn. Let me tell you this story from

last year Greg's naming spiders in his basement.

I don't think that's true But the one cool thing

though that I luckily even though I don't have

each cable I still do have HBO and especially

right now because Hard knocks has come back for

those that don't know hard knocks has been around.

I don't know maybe ten years It's been a little

bit a while, but is HBO show that follows an

NFL team each training camp You know, they've

had the I think the Ravens were the first ones

to do it and they've had the Jets and a few other

teams. This year, it's the Houston Texans. And

it's, I guess you would say it's kind of like

a reality TV show, but obviously in real, you

know, this is based upon, you know, real NFL

team. They follow different players. Typically,

they follow like a lot of the NFL rookies that

are coming up because their storylines seem to

be the most dramatic because they're the ones

trying to make the team and one wrong play, they

can end up being cut. So it follows their team.

And it's one thing I had to say though about.

HBO when it comes to they do sports, right? They

have some of the best camera work when it comes

to sports They can actually make a scrimmage

between the Redskins and the Houston Texans seem

exciting I'm like they should just shoot all

the NFL games because you know the use of slow

motion with the music I'm like this seems like

the most important game ever and it's you know,

Brian Hoare throwing through a third string wide

receiver and like how is it this does it's not

important whatsoever, but I feel I'm engrossed

in it but uh The one thing that I've come out

of it within at least the first episode is that

JJ Watts is superhuman. He's a real life superhero.

That guy is insane. They actually showed like

one of his workout routines and like he starts

by like flipping this like gigantic tire. That's

got to be like, you know, 600 pounds or something

like that. One of these seem like the big foot

tires. He like that's how he starts it. He flips

it like 54 times and then he works out. I'm like

that's and I'm sitting here. You know, eating

Buffalo chicken dip. And I'm like, yeah, I should

probably, I should probably maybe do a sit up

or two, but it's, it's good. I love hard knocks.

They can, Bill O 'Brien, who's a quarter, who's

a coach of Houston's accents. He was a coach

of Penn state actually not too long ago. And

he's kind of a captain figure. He's not. at all

what I expected. He's a lot more vocal and a

lot more like a Rex Ryan -esque, I would say,

his attitude wise. Maybe not in defeat as much,

but he's a, it's really good. Like the show is

really great at really getting interesting story

lines and great narration. And it's, I would

highly recommend it. Even if you're not a fan

of the NFL, my wife doesn't follow the NFL nearly

as much as me, but she enjoys watching it too,

so. How has Annie been doing? Has Annie been

making the team or? Annie. Yeah, it's hard not

like Wow, I watch right now man, man The bad

joke man. We are having one of those bad joke

competitions tonight, aren't we? All right. All

right. So we go I am up for it. I'm up for it.

Let's go Dad joke dad joke 101. Here we go But

yeah, that's all I've really been up to so Greg

have you been watching anything reading anything?

What if you're up to? I've been watching some

Netflix, and I should really get back to The

Walking Dead, since I've gotten a couple graphic

novels ahead of where I think they are in the

program. But I've been actually watching, and

I'm not all the way done with it, but I've been

watching An Idiot Abroad, which involves Ricky

Gervais and Stephen Merchant, two British comedians.

And they've, of course, started the office over

in Britain and brought it to the States. But

in this one, they are sending their friend Carl

Pilkington off on little adventures around the

world. And Carl... is not the most educated man,

I guess you would say. Ricky actually calls him

a moron and a fucking round -headed orange or

something like that. I forget exactly the words

that Ricky used. But yeah, Carl is very interesting,

and just the stuff that comes out of his mouth

are just hilarious. And he gets set off into

adventures around the globe. First season has

to do with the Seven Wonders of the World, so

he's going to see the Seven Wonders. And this

man does not want to go anywhere. He just wants

to sit at home, kind of eat his fish and chips

and just... Just go with what he's used to and

so yeah But Ricky and Steven just send them off

and just kind of forced him to do a whole bunch

of stuff that he doesn't want to do and I've

been getting some really good laughs out of some

of the comments that he's saying Some of the

comments are kind of like, yeah, I can kind of

see that and that's what kind of makes it funny,

the way he's, I guess, saying things makes it

funny. or the fact that he is kind of so off

base with his thinking from what's actually going

on makes it funny he's so sincere with some of

the stuff that he says it's seriously an idiot

abroad and i highly recommend watching the show

there's some parts that kind of get bogged down

a little bit and are just kind of watching a

man wander around aimlessly which aren't isn't

very funny but But then there's other scenarios

like traffic going on outside while he's trying

to sleep and Ricky and Stephen have set him up

this hotel knowing that it's really shitty and

giving him the worst hotel room. And this man

is like at one point he's like really sick, has

diarrhea and everything and you just feel bad

for him sometimes. Sounds like a really great

time. For everybody watching it is for him. It

is probably not I've never watched that but I

have watched I listened to their podcast and

They actually like animated the podcast for a

little bit on for HBO like they basically took

the episodes and just made cartoons out of them

so and it's uh, you know, that's a lot of them

talking and you just kind of get the The personality

of calm put Pingleton. Yeah, he's a unique unique

man He's gotten some one of those things where

it's like is this real like is he actually like

this? He's some interesting insight into the

world that we have. I would say that. Yeah. My

favorite was, I think he was going to Machu Picchu.

Steven and Ricky sent him off to this local doctor

who he meets this local doctor in this giant

field. And he's like in the Inca kind of garb.

He looks very traditional type of garb. And this

man's tiny. And so. He asks Carl, like, how is

he feeling and everything. Carl's like, I'm terrible.

I feel awful. I've been sick. He's like, is he's

up so high and everything. And he's like, I've

been having headaches, diarrhea. And like to

see him kind of physically animate with his arms

what diarrhea, because he kind of just goes from

his ass and kind of like has his hand look like

he's spraying off shit. But the doctor like gets

these little powders together and does these

like little ceremonies and everything and then

he starts a guinea pig in front of Carl and they

go to kind of uh just a single kind of head shot

of Carl back at the hotel room who's kind of

talking about the experience kind of like the

office when they go to little segments with a

character off away from everybody kind of telling

what's going on but Carl's like I have no idea

what he was doing with the guinea pig so I asked

him and he said that the guinea pig like all

my bad mojo and bad everything will get transferred

from me to the guinea pig and Carl's like so

apparently now there is a guinea pig out there

with the shits And just his delivery of it just

totally made it for me and I was laughing my

ass off in bed while my parents are trying to

sleep Alrighty yeah, I will I've heard good things

about that. I will need to I need to check it

out, but yeah Chuck I I believe you've also been

watching something if I'm not mistaken Yeah,

I watched another funny video and YouTube was

actually said to me by One of my coworkers today.

And, uh, we've heard of the, uh, the famous,

uh, bad lip readings. Oh, yes. I think I watched

this as well. It's a bad lip reading of the 2015

GOP debate. Yes, I did watch this. This was a

good time. Man. Oh, it was freaking hilarious.

Oh, I was like, wedding myself. It was so funny.

I don't know how they do it. Honestly, like,

like the words that they pick to put in for these

guys are perfect. They just fit perfectly. And

even like the little sound effects they do and

like the side thing and there's like breathing

and little noises. It's just so masterfully done.

Yeah. Everything they did for like Donald Trump

and Ben Carlson was a I found that was amazing.

Uh, yeah the puzzle was like We'll have to put

like a link up maybe in the show but uh Which

by the way, there's like 10 guys on the stage

debating which is crazy to begin with but They

say like, oh, you know, you have like it's a

random number to like you have 13 seconds closing

state You have to do it in the form of a song

They do like a song for each of the guys and

it's freaking hilarious like this stuff they

put in there. Oh my gosh, it's great I also watched

a YouTube video too. And it's uh, it was on Reddit

the other day too was pitch perfect 237 and Uh,

what it is, it's like, I don't, there's this

documentary. It was called Room 237. And it was

about like all these random theories and ideas

about the shining and like these - We actually,

uh, reviewed that like a billion episodes back.

Yeah. Yeah. And so it's, it gets into like all

these crazy theories about the shining and what

it really means. And some people feel like it's

standing cubic, hitting messages about how he

fit. fake the moon landing and it's insane the

amount of like little details people find in

the background well this one kind of parried

it but did it with pitch perfect saying kind

of coming up with the idea that pitch perfect

was secretly about 9 11 and like america's involvement

in it and just the threads they would go down

and it's and the sad thing is it was like kind

of spot -on to what you would see in a lot of

like the conspiracy theory documentaries and

things like that and the taking one small thing

and really Exploding it and it's great example

of satire and I will also put that in the show

now So even if you like care less about pitch

perfect, it really has nothing to do with it

It's just they picked whatever crazy movie and

follow these fake threads into coming up with

all these theories about what pitch perfect's

really the hidden messages of it It's fantastic

Alright, anything else before we take a quick

break? No, nothing. All right. So what we're

gonna do is we're gonna take a quick break and

when we come back, what we have done is we have

scoured the internet to find the craziest, wackiest,

the funniest news stories we feel you'll enjoy

hearing about. So we'll get into those in just

a moment, right after these messages. Hey guys,

this is JD from the In Session Film Podcast.

Every week on our show, you can join my co -host,

Brendan and I, as we review the latest films

that's out in theaters. It also inspires us to

discuss the top three list of some sort. And

we have a lot of other fun movie discussions

as well. It's always a blast. And we also have

a show on Fridays called our extra film podcast.

This is a show that gives us the space to talk

about the latest Indies and art films and other

classics that we normally just don't get to talk

about on our main show. You can find our podcast

on iTunes, Stitcher radio, SoundCloud, TuneIn

radio, Player FM, and more. In fact, you can

just see everything about us, including our social

medias. at InsessionFilm .com, so join us every

week. We'd absolutely love to have you. Alright,

and welcome back! And if you've not listened

to one of these episodes... Previously we've

done it a few times what we try to do is you

know have a little bit of a lighter episode as

we get into the more the the wacky side of that

of the news so Nothing serious. Nothing hardcore

here. We're just trying to find some you know

Some stories that will tickle that funny bone

or just seem kind of awkward and weird so and

occasionally we end up coming with the same story

So we'll see how that goes often very much involving

Florida for whatever reason but I think I'll

start with one of one of one of my stories and

You know something is I love is dumb criminals.

I don't know but you those dumb criminal stories

Those are always a good time like how people

can just do some idiotic things and easily get

caught One of the things you would probably try

not to do is you know you try to if you're committing

a crime You try to keep your name out of it right

you try to not let people know who you are Maybe

even hide your face. Well, for one... Robbers,

get out those notepads and take down these little

tips. Get your highlighters. Well, for one Florida

man, he may have actually done that. So, to set

the scene, apparently this guy was coming home,

and some of his neighbors had some issues going

on, so the police were called. And I guess this

guy had a long day. He indicated he... He had

a few beers, too many, and we came to try to

park in his driveway. Well, apparently the police

cars were kind of blocking his way. So, you know,

what would a normal person do in that situation?

Maybe contact the police, maybe try to talk to

someone, park someplace else, get angry. Well,

this guy, he wanted to get back at the police.

So what do you guys think he did? Think he rammed

right into the car with his car. I mean that

actually might have been even better than what

he did So he went to his house He gets a bucket

of paint and he decides to vandalize these police

cars And any idea what he might have wrote on

these police cars from something you said before

I want to guess that he wrote his social security

number. That would have been maybe a little bit

more cryptic. No, he actually just ended up writing

his name. His name Rusty right on the cop car

because is it Rusty Griswold? Not so much. Apparently

he. You know the perfect crime I guess you would

think no one would have suspect him if he actually

wrote his name in On these cop cars. So yeah,

he uh put his name on it and put an r on the

next one and when he was obviously arrested because

that's really a stupid thing to do and uh His

comp how do you know he did it? They got the

CSI forensic team out and got some prints. They

went to the dash cams, you know, get some facial

recognition. Use Google Maps and Google Earth

to street view. But yeah, his code was I was

a little inebriated and full of stuff and vinegar

and happened to be painting on a certain day

when they pulled in front of my house and to

go someone else's house. So I walked out there,

sat in the curb and painted my name on there.

I was I was just being mischievous and Yes, he

was. Yes. He was the sad thing is this is a 55

year old man Sorry, 44 year old man named Russell

Rusty Moore and he uh, he's going to jail a terrible

man. Yeah Hey, I guess and the good thing is

it only cost him a hundred fifty dollar fine

So if you really hit the cops you want to get

back at them You least you know something that's

a cheap option. I guess it's more. It's less

expensive than breaking a window I'm guessing

he just didn't want to live his life looking

over his shoulder. So he just figured, you know,

I'll just make it easy on them to know it was

me. By the way, the other stupid people that

may be listening to this. Well, I don't know.

Please don't sue us. I believe in the Darwin

Awards. So if you're dumb enough to do that,

then I don't know. Could you really sue us for

telling a story? I guess not. I don't know. You

have a responsibility to share the news, Dan.

I know, I know. I'm a serious newsman. I'm a

serious newsman. Right, we are unbiased, you

know. Fair and balanced, those stupid criminals,

yeah. Yeah. So we're Fox now? You guys have some

too as well? Sure, I'll go for one. And this

is kind of movie related, so this one would probably

be fun. But there's actually a, in the state

of Oregon, there is a home in the town of Astoria

that was used for the filming of the Goonies

movie. Nice. And that was, you know, that was

the house from the beginning where all the kids

were hanging out and a chunk would come and do

the truffle shuffle in order to get into the

house. Well, that's a real house. Yes. And people

actually do live there. And I guess this private

home was a huge tourist draw. And I supposedly

it. Brought an estimated 1500 visitors there

daily, which is crazy man Yeah, so You know and

of course it was kind of things went up because

of the 30th anniversary of the movie this year

and everything so there was kind of an increase

in the number of visitors and everything but

the homeowners actually had to Close the house

down and they had the city kind of put signs

up Restricting access and parking and everything

near the home because so many people were Just

trying to get there and so many people were standing

in this guy's lawn trying to do the truffle shuffle

So it's funny because a lot of people were bummed

out and they're like, oh, you know I just want

to see a piece of my childhood and this and that

but it's just too crazy on this family So they

kind of had to like basically cut it off from

all the visitors and everything which kind of

sucks But also hilarious. Oh, man. That's a Too

much truffle shuffle in my life Wish the guy

that played chunk like went back and did it and

he's like, no, I'm the real chunk. You don't

understand like Are you guys trying to the Goonies

you guys like the Goonies I? Love the Goonies

Yeah, that was one of the first movies. I actually

remember watching. Yeah. Yeah, I feel that that's

like definitely one of our generation so of course

it came out the year I was born in 85 and Also,

like just I don't know. It's a coming -of -age

movie. It's a little adventure for kids and stuff

So I always loved that since I was a kid I feel

bad because I really didn't see it until like

a couple of years ago. Really? Yeah. Oh, wow

You're missing out, Greg. You're missing out.

First Terminator, then Goonies? What's this world

coming to? I know. Greg, you got any news of

the weirds for us? Yeah, it's kind of like in

the same vein as Chuck's. I know, Chuck, you're

actually kind of out there looking for a house

and stuff. I think I found one for you. Oh yeah?

Is it the Goonies' house? It's not the Goonies'

house. It's much better. It's, if you remember

Silence of the Lambs, it's actually the serial

killer, Buffalo Bob's place. Mine is the dungeon.

The dungeon is not, apparently, a part of the

property. Oh, then why even get it? I'm sorry.

I know you wanted to do stuff in the dungeon.

I got this from Yahoo, by the way. They're odd

news. That would have been a great... Which isn't

very odd, but I'm turning it that way. That would

have been a great movie room for my dates. Right?

Right? Give them lotion on the... First date

put it on their skin. Here's my kitchen and here's

the dungeon. So, yeah So, yeah, it's it's it's

for sale for three hundred thousand dollars in

near Pittsburgh, I believe very affordable Like

based off the real serial killer or just the

one they use in the movie What the the Buffalo

Bob? Well bill or whatever the hell is freaking

name is Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo. Oh, they don't

say up here. We go Buffalo Bell I don't think

he was based off a real -life character for what

I can release So but that's that is kind of weird

though the three story which is spooky and Mothra

with a dungeon where Buffalo Bill played by Ted

Levine keeps the young woman he abducts He harvests

the Mazda place in the throats of his dead victims

There's also a scene of a climactic showdown

between Sterling and Buffalo Bill. In real life,

the house is bright and cheery with flowery wallpaper

and a swimming pool, Chuck, but it lacks a dungeon.

See, that's just it's a deal -breaker for me.

You know, it's it's dungeon or boss. I would

oh this It's nice. The couple was the couple

that owns it were apparently married in the foyer

But it'd be kind of weird though if you like

going through housing and then you're like looking

through and you see when it's like no dungeon

You're like wait, why would you say that? Sorry

to disappoint folks, but there's no dungeon here.

You're thinking like wait, are you supposed to

have a dungeon? Is that like a normal thing?

Yeah Most people call them beast ones. Hey, some

people of imagination, some people of imagination.

So interesting, interesting. So I have something

that should be for my movie, but isn't actually

talking about movies. And Chuck, you're a Dolphins

fan. You love Dolphins, right? But apparently,

Dolphins are not welcome in all places and apparently

may be up to more mischievous things than we

realize. Well. Did someone get humped by a dolphin

while swimming in the ocean maybe but that this

is not what this story is about So, you know,

we have a we have a lot of spy movies going on

right now. We have a you know, James Bond mission

impossible I'm just waiting for this new story

to break and us to get a story about spy dolphins

because apparently they really exist so uh, yes,

they do so Apparently, there was a dolphin that

Hamas captured, and the way the story goes is

that Hamas spotted a dolphin in the ocean and

thought it was acting peculiar, and I don't know

what that entails exactly, because I feel like

a dolphin in the ocean would be... normal, like,

I don't know what would be like, yeah, maybe

if it's on land, it'd be like, that's a suspicious

behavior for a dolphin. But if it's in the ocean,

I think that's just typical dolphin behavior,

if I'm not mistaken. Such dolphin wearing a wire?

What is going on here? He accused the dolphin

of being Jewish. Is that circumcised? I don't

think I think it's circumcised. That's that's

kind of what tipped them off. But yeah, according

to reports, the dolphin was captured several

weeks ago and was said to be equipped with spying

equipment, including cameras. So Hamas source

claims that he was the dolphin seriously was

just trying to make a sex tape you guys He you

know, he was an avid photographer, you know,

they can be into that the oceans got some great

photography Bastards trying to take over my job.

What the hell apparently he also took our apparently

he was also equipped with some shooting darts

as well. So I guess this is kind of the norm

for this It's not the first animal that's been

captured for this also in 2012 an eagle was captured

with Israeli tags and people thought from in

Sudan thought it was a spy as well. So, yeah,

I guess animals are really being used for the

spying game. So, you know, Greg using spiders

to kill the kill gnats. Maybe the next thing

would be using spiders to spying your neighbors.

It's it's just a natural progression of things.

I have heard that the US Navy uses dolphins to

sort of. locate underwater mines and things like

that and they actually like report back to Boats

and stuff pretty crazy. Yeah, and I know one

of the stories we talked about when Russia invaded

Ukraine apart part of that too was getting some

assassination dolphins that Ukraine had that

Russia felt were their own that they were used

to assassinate people so also also Sharks with

laser Man man, yeah, it's how many crazy things

it can actually come true. So that's insane.

I found I'm not intriguing. I don't know about

you guys. Definitely. You guys got anything else?

I do have another one. Let's see. So many good

ones. Which one should I go with? That one. Yes.

Let's let's do this one. You must be looking

at my screen. I am. I've got this spider right

there. Victor's right there. Say hello. Say hello

to Victor, Chuck. Hi, Victor. He's kind of quiet.

He is. Anyway, there's a There was just some

news released that NASA is awarding a grant for

academic study To turn human waste into food

wait it isn't now And obviously the reason is

because they're they're interested because of

long space flights and you know minimizing the

amount of supplies stocked on ships and things

like that, but um Mean my first question is like,

okay. It's hard enough to find people that are

willing to be astronauts like Yeah, it's like

push the spin on the whole astronaut ice cream

so I'll have the chocolate. Oh chunky peanut

butter, please. Yeah rocky road, I Guess there's

a study going on at Clemson University in South

Carolina And there's a couple of different studies

and they have this name for it. Now they're calling

it nutraceuticals or something. And that sounds

appetizing. Do they already have the machine

from Water World that changes your urine to water?

Yes, they've actually consulted. Kevin Costner

too on that and you know getting his opinions

on it and stuff. So the next step is getting

men with gills So that's that's the key. Also,

you think you know what they should do is probably

contact Arby's because they perfected You know

getting food into human excrement like immediately

so they probably help them out with the equations

and whatnot So, yeah, see they also have the

meat They're basically giving this like three

years of research and the hell knows how much

money Yeah, I mean it's going and trying to make

food out of shit Yeah, we called that lunch in

high school. So that's probably giving a new

meaning to the phrase shit -eating grin Which

I don't understand the first place why the hell

would you be That's beyond the scope of this

podcast. That's a question that may never be

answered. Very nice. Very nice. Greg, you got

anything else? Space Pope has a good supply of

poop up there in his bucket. Yeah, I actually,

you know what, since Chuck, you're moving out

to Pittsburgh to the silence of the lamp house,

I thought you should also know about some of

your neighbors around there and how safe the

neighborhoods are. Well, it turns out that they're

actually pretty safe. I also got this from Yahoo.

Well, I have a dungeon, so I'm not worried about

it. OK. Well, if you're at like a convenience

store or something, they're very well protected

there because apparently a couple of teenagers

went into one and threatened the cashier with

a machete. But they have great anti -machete

devices at the store, at the convenience store.

They actually have freaking swords. I actually

saw that on the news. They actually swung and

hit the machete out of a The the teens hands

and chased after him with the sword You know

that guy was waiting for that moment too, right?

Like he's been waiting forever He's like finally

I've been practicing him like every day for this

like this is the time I justify Justify to my

mom spending three hundred dollars He was practicing

with his lightsaber actually Like how do you

your opening convenience store? How do you settle

on a sword as your weapon or self -defense? He

went to Dwight K. Schrute School of Survival.

The mace was on back order, so they went with

the samurai sword. Small, uh, you know compact

revolver or use this baseball bat right here.

Maybe some mace pepper spray Now let's get this

giant sword. Well, you know, it doesn't have

a limited range or anything He's probably like

I didn't think any sword to a gunfight You probably

think you didn't think he'd use it into the zombie

apocalypse broke out What he's like I get I get

to practice it with it now. Nice. Yeah, that's

amazing Funny if it was one of those cheap like

fantasy swords and it broke me Funny story, that's

amazing So it's like right out of a crocodile

Dundee. It's like that's not a knife. This is

a sword Yeah Sounds like all good neighbors out

there. Yep. Just looking out for you Chuck, you

know Alright very interesting and talking again

about criminals and there are like a lot of things

you can possibly steal and You know, for different

reasons or whatnot. But the one thing that I

never thought I would hear someone actually steal

would be a surgical table from a hospital. But

apparently that happened. And of course happened

in our favorite state, Florida, where a man apparently

just walked into a hospital in the middle of

daytime and walked out with a gigantic Sword

with a gigantic. Yes sword no operating table

and just stole it and walked away freely and

eventually what was caught but it apparently

no one noticed this man walking through the middle

of the hospital, you know with this gigantic

Surgical table and what's really crazy though.

It's just how much that surgical table actually

costs You know, we can actually run if you sold

it any idea of how much money a surgical table

costs Ten thousand I'm gonna say 60 ,000. Chuck

was close. It was $48 ,000 for that surgery.

Holy shit! So, man... Yeah, my dad works in a

hospital and he tells me the prices on some of

the things and it's ridiculous. Yeah, so... I

don't think this was your dad. Uh, no, no, it's

not that was actually me. I just I needed if

you know, you need it for your dungeon sometimes

And you you know, you're you get to use your

sword on the surgical table of the dungeon exactly

exactly You can't just go to you can't just go

to ikea and get a surgical table, you know You

gotta go gotta go where they selling it. So the

nerve of these people I know that that was just

kind of quick and easy when I just found that

weird It's like that's something you steal and

you just walk right out with it. But yeah, all

right You guys got any other stories going on?

Do not I'm done. I have another one I could share

I guess um, and it's also about poop because

you know, we never talked about that ever Hey,

this is a classy establishment. Come on now.

I Think it's the third in line behind movies

comics and then poop That's what we should just

really need reading this movie comics. Yeah,

right MCP Yeah, you know me. Oh, man. So this

was this I'm kind of stealing this sum up, but

this was I like on Facebook, a gentleman by the

name of Mike Rowe. I'm sure you guys have heard

of him. Yeah, dirty jobs, dirty jobs, host of

dirty jobs and general generally awesome American

for the most part. He writes the funniest stuff

on Facebook and he just writes random stuff that

happens to him and stuff that people write to

him and everything. And he writes these long,

really long winded, but really funny kind of

responses to it and stuff. And he had someone

write them in about if you watch dirty jobs,

you know how he always refers to crap as poo.

He says the word poo. So someone was saying,

you know, why do you say poo like of all the

words? of all the synonyms for crap, why do you

use the word poo? And he proceeds to tell the

story of it and how, you know, one of his first

adventures was kind of in the sewer system of

San Francisco and a rat jumped on him and everything.

And he kind of jumped and he hit his head off

the top and then he fell like face first down

into the sewage. And He like spit it out of his

mouth or something and he said like, he actually

said, holy crap. He didn't say, holy shit. Well,

when the, when the scene aired a few months later,

when he was watching it, they actually bleeped

out the word crap. So he was like really surprised

and, uh, he wasn't sure if like crap had somehow

overnight become a bad word or something. And

so we kind of like talk to the executives. at

the TV studio and everything. And he said that,

you know, the executive told them that they had

recently had some meetings about harmful words

that they should censor in their shows and crap

somehow made the list, the new list. And it might

grow had a problem with it because every time

they bleeped it, obviously the audience is thinking

he's saying the word shit. Yeah. So he's saying

everyone's thinking that I have a potty mouth

when he actually like he doesn't hardly curse

ever. And so he was kind of like not upset, but

he was a little a little bit upset about it,

I guess. And so he just kind of keeps going back

and forth with them and they end up. Actually

removing the word crap from. uh, this censored

list eventually, but in the meantime, before

they did that, he had to use other words. And

I believe poop was something that you couldn't

really, that couldn't say, but that they, that

particular network wasn't fond of. So he ended

up settling on poo because it made him think

of Winnie the Pooh, not necessarily like poo

as in doo -doo. So, and he just liked the absurdity

of it all, like just using the word poo and he

thought it was hilarious. So he just started

saying that he actually went on to talk about

how, um, CNN with the show, I think that he's

most recently done. CNN actually allowed him

to say two shits per episode. And he says, you

know, he really takes advantage of and everything.

And they, you know, they called him in and said,

you know, if you go an episode that where you

don't say the word shit, you know, it doesn't

roll over and you get to use extra ones down

the road. So it's just all it's all he said.

Yeah. It's not like, you know, vacation days

at your job. You should still roll over. Well,

I do, I guess. I mean, if you're on a hill, I

guess. So anyway, that was all kind of funny.

And I guess what I'm finally getting to is, uh,

I made a comment on the, uh, on his post and

I wrote, I guess I was wrong about CNN not giving

two shits they actually took. And I really thought

that he would comment on it because he comments

on a lot of people's like things, but unfortunately

he did not reply to mine at all. That was kind

of disappointing, but I did have quite a few

people like my. Comment on there. So that was

kind of funny Just a really odd strange poop

story. I guess I thought it was kind of amazing

That is very cool Mike yeah, I didn't know how

to show on CNN. That's pretty cool. Have you

watched that at all? No, not really I know he's

like he's really big into jobs involved like

trade jobs and stuff and he's trying to get the

young people of America to kind of go that route

because they're such a shortage of trade workers

out there and He actually has this organization

that he started that sort of helps low income

kids kind of get involved in those fields and

things like that. And he really promotes like

hard work and work ethic and all that stuff.

So he's really great guy. He's just he's all

around funny and very interesting guy. Yeah,

I do enjoy enjoy him. He just seems to be like

a. I don't know. He's like one of those I guess

you call celebrities, but he just seems very

real I guess you would say and he actually lives

not too far in around the area I I'm in so and

you you hear about people running into him and

he's nothing but good thing so Nice we should

we should meet up with him. Yeah, I'll give him

a call give him a ring I'll put a thing on his

Facebook. Okay, Mike Let's meet up for lunch

or something. We won't we won't limit how much

shit you can talk Right, you can talk all the

shit you want. It's interesting you talk about

cursing because for last story tonight, apparently

this bird may not have been allowed on television,

but there's a parent in India that's been arrested.

Yes, an actual parent has been taken into custody

for cursing. How do they cuff him? Uh, I don't

know. That's a good question. I guess feather

wise, maybe? I'm not sure. Uh, put him in - what?

I thought you were gonna - you said cursing,

but I thought you were gonna say you get greedy

with the crackers or something. Some crackle

smuggling. No, apparently, uh, this parrot was

taken into custody after it swore at an 85 -year

-old woman. Maybe a lot of people get arrested

in this country. Yeah, uh, no - no reports on

if she deserved it or not, but apparently - This

the guy who owns it's been going through some

tough time legally and I guess a lot of his cursing

has spread to this parrot and One day I guess

with him a parrot was out it would cursed at

this old lady and She reported it and though

the police thought it was hilarious They took

the bird in for custody and currently being held

on bond, which is rather funny So yeah, apparently

you can't curse If you're a parrot in India,

maybe they need to get some rallies for free

speech for parrots. I'm not sure, but it's kind

of crazy. Do you suppose he would be a jailbird?

And I think he went for bad joke of the night,

Chuck. Yes, yes. I sealed the deal with that

one. I think I had what, three or four? A lot

of nominees went into that. A lot of nominees.

Yeah, so a lot of news stories of the weird.

I'm surprised there was only one really about

poop this time. Usually there's more. Usually

there's more. Well, two, technically, because

of the NASA. That's true. That's true. Very true.

One was high tech poop. One was high tech poop.

Nice, that's right. Sciencey poop. Yeah, very

much so. The best kind of poop. I want to hear

Neil deGrasse Tyson's take on poop being turned

into poop. There probably is a StarTalk episode

about it. Maybe I'll try to search and find one.

That would be pretty hilarious. He would definitely

talk about that if you asked him. He would not

be against it. But we like to end each episode

with a letter. And actually, I just wanted to

mention this is, again, not really a fun. Unfortunately,

it's a tragic story, but it's worth mentioning

because if it's. for the geek community does

tug at those superhero hearts and you guys maybe

even saw this as well, but this is a little bit

of a tragic story and but it's superhero related.

I don't know if you guys heard of the he was

known as Maryland's Batman. It was basically

this guy who I don't know if he was rich or what

have you, but he had his own Batmobile and dressed

up as Batman to give something back. He actually

traveled and went to children's hospitals and

kind of there's a lot of charitable work he did

to raise money and kind of warm the hearts of

kids everywhere who are going through a lot of

tragic things. But unfortunately, earlier this

week or last week, he was struck down when his

car broke down in the middle of the highway and

he got out and apparently was struck by another

car and was killed. And I just think it's something

to mention because You know was just this normal

dude who used superheroes for a positive message

and I know there's a lot of times when we talk

about superheroes and stuff like that it they

are You know, it's meant to be fun But I think

you it's good to see someone take that and take

what they represent and use it in a really positive

way There's a lot of ways to spend money. It's

kind of cool to see one and someone do something

and give back so it's sad that someone would

be passed away in such a Weird way, but I think

it's worth mentioning and I would yeah look up

the story I'll put it in the show notes and spend

some time reading up on the guy I think it's

a cool thing that he did thoughts and prayers

obviously to his family who were probably not

listening to this But you know, maybe who knows?

Yeah, I also heard about that story and I actually

remember the original story like when he was

going to Children's hospitals and things like

that. And is that the same guy that the cops

pulled? Yeah Then yeah, cuz I think that's when

it came out about what he did and why he was

dressed like that everything and I remember being

a huge story at that time like and Remember thinking

like how great it was and everything and it kind

of Kind of reminds you of like the thing that

Chris Evans and Chris Pratt did like going using

their Superhero stardom to kind of go and see

the kids and children's hospitals and stuff like

that. Yeah. Yeah, and there's also You hear of

Bat Kid at all? Kind of differently related,

but that was quite a cool story. There's actually

a documentary coming out regarding that. And

I feel like, you know, a lot of times we talk

about movies and comics and it's more of a critical

eye or whatnot, but I think it's cool to see

them used in that way. That's where it's like,

to me, it makes you realize how dumb it is to

get upset about some of the stuff we do or how

people like take things so seriously when it's

like, you know what? At the end of the day, it's

just entertainment and when it can be used in

a positive way, that's really cool. So yeah,

it also makes me think of like the people that

uh, like the window washers at the children's

hospitals kind of put like spider -man costumes

on and things like that and you know, it's just

really cool when people do that stuff for for

kids and for anyone in need and you have like

the jerks who are at like uh time square and

uh Was a man Chinese theater in Los Angeles who

like charge your $5 to take the photo. So but

yeah, they're Looking at the video of him getting

pulled over by the cops I guess he got pulled

over for speeding or something like that But

by the end they're actually taking photos with

the police and everything with him in his outfit

and whatnot So it's kind of funny and you gotta

respect them because he went with the old -school

Batman with the yellow and black logo Which for

me, that's that's the way to go. That's the way

to go All right Alright, unfortunately wait a

way to bring the mood down. I do apologize for

that, but yeah Anything else before we bring

this episode to a close? Also bringing the mood

down Ripped to Batgirl from Adam West Batman

TV show leave her in the Yvonne Craig, I believe

Is her name. Yeah, I'm not too into the old Batman

Adam West because it does especially at this

point is very corny, but she was a big part of

comic childhood for me I never really watched

the the Batman 66. I don't know, but that's definitely

sad to see I guess she just I'm not sure how

old she was but Yeah, very true. Very true. Sad

week to be Batman. I guess I don't know Yeah

All right, anything else before we bring this

episode to a close? All righty, I don't think

so. I'm a little bit more tonight at least for

tonight. Well, we'll come back better I have

been shitting you all night. That's very true,

very true. But, there are ways you can contact

us if you wish to do so. You can email us at

feedback at decafradio .com or talkingincirclesatlive

.com or on Facebook and Twitter, just search

talkingincirclesdcrn. You guys are also on Twitter.

What are your Twitter names? I am at heroicagechuck.

And I am at movierevolt. That'll be it for this

week. We'll be back next week. Same time. Same

channel, same podcast feed, but for now. This

has been Chuck. This has been Greg, or the shit

-eating astronaut. And this has been Dan, and

we've been talking in circles. We'll see you

next week. Really, that's one way to go with

it, yeah. Of all the people we talked about,

you went with that guy. Hell yeah! If Matt Damon

and the Martian had this technology, he wouldn't

have had to go all the way back. No, he would

not have. Just saying. See, already falling flat

holes in that movie, and we haven't even watched

it yet. Yeah. I know. It's not a good sign. I

want to be around the table though, when it was

like, that's the guy who came up with that idea.

So it's like, we need to find a way to get them

to eat food, and it's like, what if we had them

eat their own crap? Oh. Let's go with this one.

I can't shoot both!
