Talking in Circles
Celebrity Career Deathmatches Inspired by the Classic TV

About this Episode
Hey guys, this is Rob Paulson and you're listening
to the Geekcast Radio Network. You are now on
the inside of what I like to call the circle
of trust. We are all connected in a great circle
of life. You know something Bert? What? I think
you and I are going in circles. It feels like
we're going in circles. The circle is now complete.
When I left you, I was but the third. Now I am
the last. Because it's a circle. Yeah, we heard
about the circle. Yeah, I swear it really would
change. Hi, this is Greg. This is Chuck. And
this is Dan, and we are Talking in Circles, brought
to you by the GeekCast Radio Network, the podcast
where celebrities' careers go to die. I say that
today because we're playing a brand new game
inspired by that classic TV show clay animation
animation show from the 90s I guess early 2000s
celebrity deathmatch We're gonna be squaring
off some of the most infamous celebrities of
today to determine Whose career needs to die
and who gets to go on but before we get into
all the deathmatches How's the week been going
for you guys? This week was pretty exciting for
me. I know I dropped a deuce Hint, I should say
hint, but that works too. And I dropped a hint.
Oh, was it last week or the week before that
I was expecting an exclusive box set from an
entertainment earth. And if you saw on our Facebook
page, I think Dan put one of my pictures of it
up and that's my guardians of the galaxy. Marvel
legends set finally came in. Yes. How, how, uh,
how good of quality are they live up to your
expectations? Oh, they exceed them. They're fantastic
I have them surrounding my computer right now.
Have you tried to burn grew to the ground to
see you feel we grow? No, I don't but pretty
sure you would because I it comes with the little
flower pot group nice nice nice in the box so
awesome and he is huge too like the actual group
like A dude's like nine inches tall nice. Wow.
Yeah, he's packing some wood there. Yeah Nice
nine -inch group. Yeah, how have you gone on
the people and been like you want to see my group
my nice long wooden group, but There's only says
three words Three those three magical for us
Greg how things going with you? Cool, uh, all
right, uh, I don't think I have anything like
little fun stories or anything Like no one's
taking your tattoo for nazi symbols or turkey
making or anything like that? Um, no this past
weekend. What did I make? Oh, I made a White
bar white sauce barbecue chicken, which was really
good and sausage, which always turns out great.
My dad doesn't care for my barbecue chickens.
I've been trying a whole bunch of different recipes
for barbecue chicken to smoke and he hasn't liked
a single one. So I make the sausage for him.
So very nice. Very nice. I do have kind of a
random story. So someone kind of broke into my
car like the other day, but For the most inane
reason whatsoever. So like the put thing is in
perspective. My car doesn't have much I literally
when I say I have a radio that's legitimately
all I have is a radio af fm No cd player or anything
and uh, so they broke into it by broken I mean
my hatchback was open and they opened it up and
guess what they stole for me that only radio
No, they didn't tell the radio which would be
i'd be like who would you sell that to like but
no They stole no, they stole a half Empty case
of Mountain Dew and that's it and that was it
The I had the omnibus for walking dead the first
one or the second one that wasn't there not touched
I also had a blu -ray of a her which was in there
and not touched So my guess is I was robbed by
a 12 year old call of duty addict and he just
needed his Mountain Dew fix because like that's
all he took Like why do you like how do you even
do that? It's like I'm not even mad I'm just
like I want to give it if you really need a mountain
do that bad. It's just such a random thing That's
kind of weird. Yeah, so I was just like, what
would you? In like I can tell they were looking
for other things, but I think they just got disappointed
and like there's like there's nothing in here
I'm like you can steal my car. Good luck with
it Better luck, but uh, yeah, I feel like you
would be really good for a Mountain Dew commercial
right now. Exactly. Exactly do the do By stealing
it apparently, I don't know. But yeah, that's
all been that's all my week been I've been working
a lot and Know the one thing I did kind of start
doing have you any of you guys watch heroes at
all the TV series? I have not I've watched a
couple episodes, but I didn't get too far into
it. So yeah, I watched it years ago and New series
is coming back heroes are born And I saw the
trailer for it and I was like, well, I'm kind
of I'm kind of excited for it But then I realized
like I remember nothing from that series so I
started going back and watching the first series
season and It's so different comparing it to
like things like arrow or the flash because it's
so much more drama based There's not nearly as
much action. I still really like it though. It's
very Built upon mystery and I know the answer
the most of the mystery but there are certain
things I forgot and the characters are kind of
interesting so it It makes me sad because I realize
what I can't what happened after the first season
It's if you went back if you guys went back to
watch it I would say like give it some time because
it's like I said slower pace in the TV series
of today You're not gonna get those extended
action sequences. The special effects are not
nearly even to the level of something like flash
today But it's just kind of a cool concept that
had some interesting ways of, or some unique
ways of kind of playing with the genre of superheroes.
So I'm really looking forward to seeing what
they do now with all the live action comic book
series and how we've seen what we're capable
of now. Because spoiler alert for those who have
not seen Heroes, but I, well, you guys haven't
seen it. So let's just say the last episode that
there was Opened up things changed the world
completely for hero. So I'm going to be curious
how it how this series picks up So it's one of
the mysteries of is that you know who the red
hood is? I know you nothing about the red hood.
Unfortunately, nothing about the red hood or
Gas parts. So it's okay Inside joke everybody.
Sorry apologize. But yeah, so But Chuck, I know
you haven't watched much, but Greg, I know you
were on a marathon of popcorn of everything recently.
So one of the things you did watch, I also watched,
and that was the Hercules movie starting starring
the rock. Right. Hercules, Hercules, Hercules.
Anytime they said his name through the entire
film, which I feel like they did a lot. I always
wanted to bust out with that. I can I could understand
that. So I. Don't know if you ever saw the other
Hercules movie that came out last year the legend
of Hercules don't I don't Yeah, it looked terrible.
It was the one with the dude from Twilight. It
is it is it is Like legitimately one of the worst
movies I've ever seen ever see I was with this
I figured I'm just The Rock Hercules cuz I'm
like, you know, he can be in it. It's at least
gonna be fun and I thought this be was a lot
of fun Oop, Greg, we lost you. Chuck, you here?
I'm here. I'm here. I'm here. I'm here. Yeah,
I'm here. Greg's really breaking up. I'm sorry.
I don't know what to do for that. Just keep talking
it out, you know? Just keep going. A clear cell
usually works out for breakups. Start again.
I think we should be OK. OK. Start again. Sorry.
Yeah, I didn't go with the legend of Hercules
because it... It looked at good. I figured with
this one at least had the rock thing the rock
is in at least you know, that's gonna be fun
and the the One big compliment I can give this
movie is that it was a lot of fun if you ask
me Yeah, I agree. I think it was a lot of fun
it it had a lot of you know, it felt like an
old -school fantasy film like from the 1980s
like the like the Can't think of it one that
comes to mind maybe like the original remember
the Titans not remember the Titans. That's a
completely different movie What is that movie
called? But that's all I really been watching
but Craig I know you've been you've actually
watched a bunch for us you've been making out
for Chuck and I because we're kind of slacking
and One of the things you watch is also something
I watch which was the Hercules movies starring
the Rock So I was curious to hear what you thought
of that I thought that was really good. There
was another Hercules movie out that I wasn't
too interested in, but this one had Dwayne The
Rock Johnson in. So I figured anything that The
Rock is in is at least has to be fun. And I really
thought this movie was a lot of fun to say the
least. And they said Hercules a lot. They said
his name a lot. And every time they did that,
all I wanted to do was go, Hercules, Hercules,
Hercules. I thought that the concept behind it
was kind of a neat take on it. It was instead
of just going through his trials. They talked
about it but it was more of the talk of that
he has all these like kind of friends around
him and how he kind of had his friends help and
this legend grew out of that. So that was it
was a really interesting concept I thought. I
thought the acting was really well done. But
other than that, it was kind of shitty. Other
than that, it was a piece of grow ridge. It was
really fun though. I would seriously watch it
again because it was so much fun. The CGI was
terrible. I found it weird that they had like
this legend about him, but he needed help doing
it. But he was still really powerful. Like he
was throwing shit around like crazy and he was
still doing like these legendary moves and everything.
Like he was super strong. So I didn't really
understand that. I think it's kind of one of
those movies that all. Have a cult following
down the line here. So I agree. I mean, I thought
it was it was fun for sure I think that's a killer
for it. Yeah, the the little twist they put on
it where it's like they try to Explain the legend
of Hercules and where it comes from and whatnot
that you know, it was interesting at least put
a little neat concept and I think it reminded
me a lot of like the Original clash of the Titans
from the 80s or willow like you said very cheesy
in a good way the special effects look Questionable
at best but I almost wonder if that was supposed
to go with the kind of the ridiculous theme,
but who knows I It falls in line with a guilty
pleasure. It's like the perfect movie to watch
on Netflix in the middle of the day You know,
it's like not much stakes going on You can just
sit back and enjoy it and the Bronx charismatic
enough to make it work and I thought this is
like band Brothers per se were you know, we're
cooler. They all you know, they're pretty much
defined But whatever weapon they were using but
you know, you'll have that with like those type
of adventure movies. So Yeah, I agree with all
of that. It's not uh, it's not you know, and
reinventing the wheel by any means But you know
if you're a fantasy fan if you like that type
of genre I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy it
at least at least a little bit maybe if you go
in with low expectations you might be a little
bit better and million trillion quadrillion times
better than the legend of Hercules starring the
Charismatic void that is Ken Lutz That movie
legitimately is you think like the CGI this the
CGI in this and that makes this look like freaking
the pinnacle of Movie making it's like it's pathetic.
It's like it's like I've seen better computer
graphics and first -generation PlayStation games
and better acting too It was just awful and every
it was just such a waste of waste of time. So
wait, are you also saying that you prefer the
rock as an actor over Kellen Lutz? I would say
I legitimately prefer a rock, like an actual
rock, as a better actor than him. The inanimate
object of a rock has got more personality than
he does when he's on screen. But besides that,
he's pretty good. But that's only the beginning,
Greg, because I know you said you watch a few
other things. I did. I picked up a couple of
movies and TV shows at Best Buy. I know that
people would rather go to Amazon, but sometimes
I just need to get out and do stuff. Outside
in the real world because I don't really do much
out there anyway But I picked up a couple of
things and then there was also something on Netflix.
It was Expendables 3 that I watched on Netflix
Welcome to Kellen Lutz podcast where we but yeah
If you're gonna watch the Expendables movies,
I'd stick to the first two. I thought they were
much better than this third one. It's not as
exciting. I didn't understand the idea behind
Sylvester Stallone's character leaving his original
team, putting together a younger team, which
took up way too much time of the movie. And it's
like them getting kidnapped. It felt like all
of that was just like... a waste in the middle
of this movie. Let's abandon this ridiculously
experienced older team that's the best at what
they do in the entire world. Yes, because he's
having his own issues and everything. And then
he brings in this younger team who gets kidnapped.
So and then the older team has to save them anyway.
So it just feels like a complete waste. Yeah,
I say watch the beginning, like the opening sequence
when they save Wesley Snipes from a tax evasion
jail. Yes, that was good. Even says tax evasion,
too. Yeah. And maybe the last, what is that,
30, 45 minutes of the movie. But there's also
where Wesley Snipes is in action at the kind
of the beginning, too, after they saved him.
So you want to watch the beginning and the end,
the middle with Kelsey Grammer. There's a couple
of nice little laughs in there, but it's just
him assembling the team. I don't know. It felt
kind of like a waste. And I wasn't even that
interested in the end action. It was much more
eventful in other movies. I wish Terry Crews
was in there. I felt like he added some fun into
it, but he was only in there for a little bit.
Yeah, he was filming Brooklyn Nine -Nine, which
if you've not seen is brilliant. I love that
show. Yeah, I thought Internet Bandera's was
a little fun, but yeah, yeah, it's like Let's
take you know all the reason behind these like
all these people that you know and love and see
them together So let's get rid of that and get
all these other people that you don't care about
and put them in it But yeah, it was try to make
them action stars Yeah, I I agree and then like
and I was pg -13 too, which I don't necessarily
think it needs an art rating But I thought it
was just it made the action very dull Yeah, it
wasn't that exciting Well, I hope the next thing
I know that you watch because i'm a big fan of
it That was a little bit you have a little bit
favorable reaction to it and that was silicon
valley at uc. Did you? catch up with it I picked
up the first season. I never saw it on HBO because
I don't have HBO, but I picked it up because
I listened to the podcast Indoor Kids, which
is a podcast a while ago that you recommended
for me, Dan. And it's a video game podcast with
Kumail Nanjiani and his wife, Emily V. Gordon.
And as you know, we don't really talk about video
games that much and we really don't play them.
too often anymore but I think out of the three
of us I probably play the most often and so I'm
interested in the new games coming out I really
need to upgrade my system and everything I just
haven't I wanted to save my money up for different
things but uh so I picked this up because I listened
to Kumail and I figure I kind of support them
a little bit and I made a giant mistake which
kind of ruined the experience, I think, for me
a little bit. When I opened it up, there's paperwork
on the left -hand side as you open up the, it's
not a jewel case, but the DVD case. And so I
picked up the DVD on the right and put that in.
And I thought I was playing the first episodes,
but I actually started at episode, I think it
was five. I watched five through eight, and then
I watched one through four. So that kind of...
stunk for the most part. But other than that,
I thought it was good. I didn't think it was
as hilarious as I thought it was going to be.
Kumail does have a bunch of good lines in there
because I did laugh out loud at a couple of the
things that he has said in that. But other than
that, I thought it was okay. I thought it was
interesting and amusing and kind of a fun behind
the scenes type of thing. I definitely liked
the whole trying to jerk off algorithm. I was
going to ask, what did you think of the final,
the final infamous dick joke? The dick joke was
freaking hilarious. So I liked that. There's
like certain things I liked about it, but otherwise
it was just kind of like, okay, I didn't see
what all the talk about was. But I found it amusing.
I would definitely watch more of it because I
think I got the the blu ray and it was only like
twenty five bucks for the eight episodes. I thought
that was a good value. So I would do it again.
I actually I loved the first season and I think
what I really liked about it, too, was just how
it satirizes that. Entire kind of industry of
the yeah, you know the tech industry and tech
bubble and I loved it like the characters as
well and I don't know I always found it like
endlessly funny and I can't think of any things
specifically just mostly the characters themselves
and just their interactions and how it like just
its dry sense of humor it does very much feel
like a you know, I might judge property because
it it is able to seem Realistic enough to see
it to make it seem like maybe this could actually
happen. So Yeah, and I enjoyed the storage container
gag. I enjoyed that a lot. There were things
I enjoyed definitely throughout the whole thing.
So it wasn't like I hated it, but it just I don't
think it was what I expected it to be for the
most part, but it was definitely enjoyable. I
think it's second season is even better. So I'd
be curious to see if you like that more. Okay.
Well, I'll have to check it out eventually when
it comes out Yeah, not that make you buy more
things. Yeah, I know I've bought too much already.
I just went to I was at Home Depot and I picked
up a whole bunch of stuff for smoking this weekend
But in my other pickups this week, I also picked
up Batman verse Robin which they kind of took
the whole Court of Owls storyline and switched
it and changed it around a bit. It was an interesting,
different take on it, I thought, so I really
enjoyed the story for the most part. The animation
was okay, I really didn't, the animation is kind
of a personal preference type of thing. I really
didn't care for it too, too much. The voice acting,
it was weird with how Robin was voiced because
they very much like little boyed him up. And
so it was... That sounds just wrong. Is that
a technical term? Yeah. It was very distracting
any time Robin spoke, Damian, Wayne. So I didn't
enjoy that. And I didn't in fact that Damian
was so on par. with Nightwing and Batman in fighting.
He kind of beat both of them at different points.
Yes, he was kind of more on the level with Batman
and the only reason he won that was because Batman
let him because he had to save Damian and everything.
It just felt weird to me for the most part. Was
the guy who voiced him the same person? Yeah,
it looks like it was the same kid who voiced
him. in uh son of batman have you seen that at
all no i didn't see son of batman i looked for
that one while i was up there but i just didn't
it wasn't yeah i wasn't really fan of that and
i'm i'm right there with you with the animation
style it's it's not necessarily bad animation
like i said it's just more personal taste it's
a little too realistic which is a weird word
word to say but i i like it like a little bit
cartoony you know i like that's why i think i
like to boost him animation because it it doesn't
try to resemble real life Too much and it's able
to kind of separate itself, which I think you
kind of need I think that's the point of superheroes
unless you're doing live -action. It just almost
feels like Like a animated live action movie,
if that makes any sense. Yeah, and also the fight
scenes were very stagnant. It wasn't a lot of
moving around. There was a one point where Batman
was fighting the Talon and like they were just
standing there for the most part and it was just
kind of like their arms were like moving and
sparks were flying off as they were hitting each
other. It kind of was like they were planted
in in place they were moving fast but it kind
of felt like they were just static for the most
part like it was just their upper body moving
and it was really weird the fight scenes in it
So, like, I wouldn't really recommend that one
to anybody. I love Batman. I love the Korda Owl
storyline, and I found the changes they made
were quite interesting. There were some elements
in there that I didn't care for too much, but
I don't want to give away any spoilers or anything.
But I really didn't enjoy it other than their
concept of changing the Korda Owl storyline for
the most part. What's too bad? Yeah, I have not
kept up with that one. I kind of wasn't a fan
of Sonic Batman So I'm like why wait, why waste
my time? I thought Philip be very unlikely. I
would enjoy it So have you seen any of those
Chuck? No, I haven't seen any of those. Well
based upon our reviews don't keep it. Yeah I
would recommend it a lot of the newer DC movies.
I really haven't been Too interested in like
from what I'm seeing like yeah waiting for a
killing joke to come out now because that yeah
pretty much You might like I don't know you might
like the one I talked about last week But you
might not because it does completely change everything
you like about Superman so maybe Yeah, I mean
I'm at this point. I'm kind of exhausted by the
alternate reality stories like Say it ain't so
say it ain't so every single one They do is alternate
reality thing like we get back to the normal
universe like yeah Especially with Marvel at
this point with the whole battle world situation
going on Yeah, all right got anything else Greg.
Are you here? Is that the end of your? marathon
I also got Kingsman, but you guys already heard
my review that that's a lot of fun. I watched
that one in the theater. So I picked that one
up again. But yeah, I think that's it. I have
a couple other things here to watch. I also have
another DC animated movie with the second Justice
League where with Aquaman in it. I've got Throne
of the Lances. Yes. And I know how that one is.
Okay, we'll do I also got red 2 which is the
the sequel to the the bruce willis movie of red
Which I enjoyed the first one. So I picked up
so it's not like a sequel to the color because
I'd be kind of cool No, not sequel to the color
and then I also picked up another season of game
of thrones, which I'm excited to watch Uh my
girl amelia clark get in action again. So what
season are you on? Uh, I picked up season four
I don't even know what season they're on right
now. I think they just finished five. I think
they just finished five. Yeah And Chuck, I know
you don't have a you didn't watch anything, but
you wanted to bring something up. I finally was
able to find and watch the Deadpool trailer from
San Diego Comic Con. Nice, nice. I was able to
track it down. They weren't all pulled off the
Internet, apparently. But I remember you guys
saying like, it's really crappy quality, like
it's way in the background and everything, which
it is. But I thought it was hilarious. Just the
the bit I saw of it. I really like how it's.
Kind of more R rated and stuff Like all the jokes
about his face and everything that were hilarious
Yeah, I'm really excited for that I gotta agree
with you. My only worry is that it's like too
much of that humor because I think there is a
breaking point. But I think having a lot of those
characters like other ensemble characters are
gonna make it work and especially Colossus. I
really think that's kind of a nifty little twist
they put on it by putting him in there. Yeah,
I loved seeing him in there. Although he doesn't
go by the name Colossus, you know, based on what
Deadpool calls him. What does he call him? I
miss that. I think he calls him a giant chrome
cock -cobbler. It might be his official new name
and then classes just kind of like standing there
and It was really funny. But cool. Yeah, I didn't
realize I hadn't realized that that's actually
coming out in February. So yeah, and it's gonna
be an early one We won't have to wait too awful
long for it And then a few months after that
like in March or April Batman v Superman comes
out. So it's gonna be weird Yeah, next year is
an action -packed year for movies. Yeah Yeah,
definitely definitely and it was funny cuz like
it's supposed to be 2015 and then a lot of stuff
got pushed back to next year but you still have
some cool things coming out this year like The
new James Bond movie, which I'm really looking
forward to and you know that what's that thing
called Star Wars? I think is coming out something
like that Yeah, something with like lights and
Sabres. Yeah, the Buffalo team. I think I don't
know it's weird Alrighty, so what we're going
to do is take a quick break and when we come
back we will be discussing celebrities in deathmatch
style, determining whose career should go on
and whose career needs to die. We'll see you
in a bit. Mark Who 42's Who -niverse. As we review
Doctor Who episodes past and present, discuss
the Doctor's friends and enemies, see where the
Doctor's been, where he is, and where he's going.
Sit back and grab a Jelly Baby and join Mark
Who 42's Who -niverse. It's the ride of this
and every other lifetime. Fantastic. Allons -y!
All right, and welcome back and today what we're
doing and like I started set it up front is that
inspired by that classic MTV TV show celebrity
death match where they use claymation to face
off celebrities We're gonna do that but podcast
style and what we're thinking here is we're gonna
pose two celebrities they could be annoying celebrities
or they could be people we actually admire the
key is The winner gets to go on with the career
the loser is gonna go away forever. So we're
never gonna hear from them again. In some ways
it'll be a positive and some ways it might be
a negative. So we'll have a little bit of fun
with it here. And if you've listened to our badass
bracket previously where we try to talk about
like the bait over who are the biggest badasses,
it's gonna be similar to that combined with our
most annoying celebrities episode. So we'll see
how it goes. And if there are other matchups
that you would like us to do, feel free to comment
at keycastradio .com or blogtalkradio .com. Or
nerdly .co .uk or you the million places you
can listen to us or Facebook Twitter You know
how it works. Just throw it out on the internet.
I'm sure we'll catch it we're gonna start with
off with a with the power a power couple when
it comes to the world of pop culture and The
question is here. One of these people will go
away forever one continues and lives on with
their career We have Kim Kardashian going up
against Kanye West We have wife We have husband
Who's more annoying or I guess if you're bigger
fans of one of the other who gets to go on here?
Who needs to have their career die? I don't know.
I think I think I would personally say Kanye
West needs to have his career die because Anyone
that like self -centered and narcissistic It's
just extremely annoying. Like I know Kim's annoying
with how much like time she's in the news and
everything, but just the comments that this guy
makes, his quotes, like I think we even went
through and read some quotes of his one time.
Yes, we did. It's just absolutely ridiculous.
This person is not existing in this reality.
That's just the best way to put it. He needs
to just go away. Well, he thinks he's the the
best rock star alive Like he declared this I
was listening to Babylon with Kevin Smith and
Ralph Garman and they were talking about him
at a show like maybe a month back or something,
or he was in England and he declared himself
the most famous, the best rock star alive. And
then he sang Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Oh, wow.
Yeah, and they played a bit of it too. It was
Awful like you know when you have like you have
to go to a concert and it's like a high school
concert or whatever and they have like the kids
in chorus singing and Like everyone's to while
the girl off -key and you kind of cringe it was
like that but with autotune You go off -key with
autotune That is talent right there what what's
worse him or his fans because I remember when
he did like when he teamed up with Paul McCartney
and Like people were posting in Facebook and
Twitter like like I really don't know who this
Paul McCartney guy is But that's what I love
so much about Kanye like he takes a nobody and
works with them and turns them into a somebody
I'm like, are you freaking serious? Come on Well,
it's like it's people are just stupid because
I remember when Titanic was like we released
in the theaters and There's a huge amount of
people who tweeted. It's like wow Titanic is
based on a real story that actually happened.
I'm like, yeah people are really willing to let
their idiocy fly when it comes to the internet,
but yeah See, I guess I agree with everything
you guys are saying about Kanye West But I say
like at least in all honesty there are songs
and music he does that I find You know that I
enjoy and I think he has legitimate talent He
does not nearly has as much talent as he think
he does I don't think I don't think it's humanly
possible be as talented as he think he is but
with Kim Kardashian, I don't feel like She brings
anything to the table that she hasn't already
brought, you know I don't know how many more
new photos she can release or like I just find
she's just Completely famous for being famous
in no. No, she's not famous for being famous
Dan. She is famous for putting a dick in her
mouth True true true. So I guess that's the key
to fame. So I don't but yeah That's all I have
to do to be famous and get lots of money Which
reminds me of I forget what concert was like
a dick in my mouth again It reminds me of a concert
I saw where someone took an image from that infamous
video at Kanye West's Show blew it up and was
like holding it in this in the crowd Yeah, so
that's that's pretty cute, but so I get everything
you guys are saying by Kanye West, but I think
I would I'd rather Deal with his ego then deal
with the those people that are the Paris Hilton's
Kardashians of the world like stop that trend
immediately At least if you're gonna be egotistical
at least do something that's not just being a
reality tv show where you just get tan I I would
rather somebody that's lazy and doing nothing
than a person with an ego though dan I hate hate
people with egos. In elementary school, there
was this one girl that was very stuck up. I hated
her to death. And like, it's the same thing with
him. Anybody with an ego that thinks they're
so great is instantly the worst person in the
world to me. It might even surpass murderers
for some reason. I feel like she has an ego too,
but maybe she's just not as boisterous with it.
Yeah, she's not. And that's why I would rather
him jump off a cliff somewhere than her. And
at least she's female so it may be sexist, but
that's another reason why I'd rather keep her
You'd rather see another sex tape with Kim Kardashian
then another sex tape with Kanye West But to
be honest if Kanye West had a sex tape It would
just probably be him himself because I doubt
like he would let somebody else on screen But
yeah, all right. So I guess I'm outvoted on this
one so in this celebrity death match Kim Kardashian
would be moving on and Kanye West career would
be coming to an end and The good results out
of all of this is at least they're not together
anymore to produce more offspring That's very
true. So the world wins because no one needs
a someone named like East West or Southwest I
heard she's having another hit Thank God and
the existing children would win too because they
would honestly be better off being raised by
a mutant rat in the sewers Splinter would be
a million times better than any of me totally
would even the shredder. Let's be honest It probably
looks at Kanye West is like dial down a little
bit man. Like yeah, I want to rule the world
but seriously All right, well, let's let's go
to the world of sports and This is it feels fitting
talking about this because it's very much in
the news while you have Tom Brady and his the
flight gate Which is once again dominated headlines
recently, you know Robert Kraft had this huge
statement calling out the league and all that
craziness going on it seems like it's a story
that won't end and Also kind of oddly this year
is that Alex Rodriguez is having a resurgence
career a year when it comes to at least putting
let's say putting out but he he's not he's not
Kim Kardashian when it comes to uh overall statistics
he's having one of his better years in such a
long time so it can only assume he's taking drugs
again but so so for the celebrity death match
we're taking two cheaters and facing them off
against one another we have Tom Brady and Alex
Rodriguez Whose career is gonna die and who's
gonna keep going on for another day? Tom Brady's
gonna miss the high five Hit Alex Rodriguez in
the head He's gonna hit his head off of the ground
when he gets punched in the face by Tom Brady's
fist and bleed out No, I hate Tom Brady Morris,
but I I'm kind of biased since I watch a ton
more football than I do baseball I do not like
baseball. It is one of the most boring sports
in The world if you ask me so I would definitely
have a Tom Brady and his career so I don't have
to deal with him anymore This way I I don't watch
baseball so I wouldn't even have to see Alex
Rodriguez anyway, so yeah Chuck I think I have
a slight idea of where you might go being a Dolphins
fan. I hate Tom Brady Although I do agree I think
Alex Rodriguez is the bigger cheater. Yes, like
all Brady did was You know allegedly remove some
air from the ball a little bit and you know a
rods like Juicing up and everything and having
this huge advantage over other players Although
not many because we don't know how many you're
actually juicing So maybe it's a lovely playing
field his ball shrunk for an entirely different
reason Exactly Although I do think a rods a bigger
cheater. I'm just so tired of hearing about Tom
Brady And even before all this, I was tired of
hearing it like, you know, he's also one of ESPN's
golden boys. But now it kind of looks like they're
trying to tear him down. But well, they love
doing that. They love creating their idols and
then storing them bit by bit, you know. Yeah.
And I thought it was interesting that they were
I don't know if you were listening to this last
couple of days or not. But unfortunately, we
had radio on in our. Office and I had to listen
to it all freaking day long. They Talked non
-stop about wait, wait ESPN ESPN talked about
the same thing for an entire day. I never do
that seems odd But uh, I found out that they
were saying That Brady destroyed his phone when
like I heard like the actual report was like
they told him They didn't need to confiscate
his phone. So his Plan was up with his provider.
So he went got a new phone like Like they made
it sound like he ran it over this truck threw
it in the lake and like Yeah, that is funny a
little editorializing there He destroyed it by
getting a new one and just leaving it on the
counter. So yeah So are you you you're gonna
say that Brady goes away and a rod lives another
day, correct? Yeah, I guess I'll again once be
the the odd man out and I think the key thing
like you said I feel I'll try to guess is the
bigger cheater and he's just a Despicable person.
I know Greg. You don't watch baseball at all
But if you look at a lot of stuff he has done
and just the way he's acted and the lives he's
ruined He's kind of like what it lands Armstrong
did with his denial so did a rod in a lot of
ways and He was supposed to be the guy who made
the home run stats the home run record matter
again like he was like the golden he was literally
similar like Brady the golden child who was gonna
you know right the wrongs of Barry Bonds and
then finds out that no he as well has been cheating
this entire time and of course lied about it
and kept lying about it and everything so I don't
hate Tom Brady as much as a lot of people this
whole thing has been kind of ridiculous I do
think like he's looking like a complete tool
with all this going on With even in his knitted
hat and fine -tuned clothing, but and but so
I would say go with a rod But I'm outvoted here.
So a rod is going on to face No, I guess a rod
and Kim Kardashian. No, we're not actually doing
a tournament So a rod wins this matchup and Tom
Brady looks like the he'll be missing more than
four games this year. So uh Chuck I think you
had a couple matchups. You want to throw one
out there? Sure. I'll toss one out there. Let's
see Let's stick sort of in the sports world,
except we'll go with not on the athlete side,
but more of the analyst side. These are two radio
talk show hosts, actually. Let's do Colin Cowherd
and Dan Lebatard, both from ESPN. Well, not anymore.
Right. Formerly, yeah. Well, while you guys are
discussing this one because I know nothing about
either of these guys I'm gonna go take a piss
have fun. I'll be good luck. That's luck. See
I will I will say this I maybe I I've not listened
to much of Dan Lambert I just show I uh, it's
on when I'm at work So I missed most of it, but
I've listened to cowards I say podcast because
that's usually how I listen to it podcast or
radio show and I kind of I I don't agree with
him a lot, but I actually Like colin cowherd.
He's you know, he has an ego on him for sure
I think both of them do but I think he his podcast
has let or keep saying podcast his radio show
is at least interesting and he's a good host
and he's uh, when it comes to Like multimedia
and creating shows. I think he's got he's really
smart like sports sports nation was a show that
he created which I think is one of the better
things on espn And even liked his football show
a little bit. So dan lebertard. I like i've never
really liked him He's always run me the wrong
way. He makes good points He's a good person
to have but I find them to be a little bit a
little bit too much at times so I would I would
say him go away and Come Howard live another
day. Although it looks like he'll be living another
day on Fox Sports if if rumor has it. Yeah Honestly,
I see what you're saying. I definitely got to
disagree that con coward shows interesting I
think he just he talked about so many things
that Don't have to do with sports. He gets completely
off track and Goes into really weird realms of
stuff like he ends up talking about pancakes
and like Pancakes like pancakes and like farming
and like I don't know where this stuff come from
like I Listen to him at work and stuff kind of
not by choice because it's someone else's radio,
but you just get really annoying and I was So
happy when I heard that he was leaving ESPN,
which he kind of got forced out. But it was a
little bit of a for slash. It was a little bit.
He was he got forced out a week early. Yeah.
Not technically fired, but, you know, made some
comments about baseball players and stuff like
that. I don't know. I always felt like his. His
comments made sense and I don't maybe they're
a little bit out there, but I felt like he was
good at contextualizing Different arguments and
kind of putting things in a different perspective
and I feel like a lot of ESPN announcers are
very uh standard and kind of just don't know
how to have a personality and I would say at
least for both of these guys they do they at
least feel like they are able to Not just kind
of stow the line of what the es main wants them
to say though. It feels like those people are
getting kicked out But if I feel like you look
at someone like calling cat hard compared to
like skip bayless I feel skip a list assess things
to be you know To be that guy to get attention
and I don't get that from calling coward as much.
I mean occasionally I think he knows how to certainly
rally all up a crowd and I think he'll say things
that will make Maybe he doesn't completely agree
with but he knows we'll get people's attention
But I feel like skip bail is that's all he does.
So yeah, and I mean, I mean, he's definitely
a smart guy, but it's just like It's always he
always seems like a company line kind of guy
right up until He got you know, he made this
mistake but he always seemed like he was a company
line kind of guy like always saying the right
thing that the popular people would side with
and things like that. And I don't know. He just
always annoyed me for whatever reason. But Dan
Libertard is also annoying. He makes a lot of
annoying comments. But I think I would actually
prefer Colin Coward to just to just fade away.
And I would not be upset if I don't see his face
on or hear his voice on radio at all. Does Libertard
have a radio show, too, or does he just have
a TV show? He does have radio show. It's late
in the afternoon on ESPN. Okay, but I'm honestly
if if you're looking for like a really good Talk
show like ESPN talk show with personality and
stuff. I would recommend Ryan Rossello and Scott
van Pelt. I think yeah, I do I do like them a
lot, too I don't know. I it's funny cuz I felt
like when you say he says a popular opinion.
I never got that from him. I My favorite actually
probably are Mike and Mike and like Scott Van
Pelt because I was yeah Scott Van Pelt and Ryan
Roussela really good at just like Getting through
the hype and just like making you calling things
out when they need to call things out It's like
this is not a big deal. Why are you making this
a big deal? Right? I think I just relate better
to those guys like I Mean is it because Scott
Van Pelt has all the funny voices It is yeah
Very nice. Yeah, very cool. I mean, I understand.
I think you're not alone I think a lot of people
hate calling cowards. So I think a lot of people
very happy hearing he's leaving but I agree with
Dan because he hasn't gotten any buddy through
yet I get I get a pity vote. So so we've been
talking about people that are annoying Well,
I mean we'll flip it around here and the thing
with this is two people that I think Arguably,
I think we all like who are both in Marvel films
and probably two of the most notable names in
Marvel films right now and we have Chris Pratt
and Robert Downey Jr. So Iron Man and Star Lord.
Thinking about it right now, would you rather
Marvel films without an Iron Man or Marvel films
without a Star Lord? What do you guys think?
Take it away, Greg. Oh, damn it! Damn you, Chuck!
I could go if you want. I'm gonna go with Star
-Lord being more awesome and getting rid of Cap
just because I feel like there's a lot more humor
and that's the only reason. Only reason is because
I think there's a lot more humor with Star -Lord
and I think that world is just a little bit more
interesting. You mean then getting rid of Stark?
Oh stark. Yeah, I was putting cap for some reason
You just really want to get rid of Captain America
For some reason I think it was because I was
listening once again to Babylon and They were
talking about Chris Evans and Chris Pratt showing
up at a hospital to help out a little kid. Yeah,
I thought about doing both of those, but I figured
that it'd be an easier way out because they're,
you know, they're very one's funnier, one's not.
I figure with this one, they both kind of have
similar personalities, so it's harder to choose.
Damn it. That's a tough one. I'm going to go
with Iron Man just because he has more established
in the universe. So I'd get rid of Chris Pratt
just because Robert Doherty Jr. has more established.
There was the eye. hated the third iron man movie
but it's not about the movie it's about stark
himself yeah i'd get rid of chris pratt just
because uh we have more invested in robert downey
jr as iron man than we do with chris pratt as
yeah starler what do you think check i think
i would Would choose for Tony Stark to go away.
I think we could I think we would be better off
keeping Chris Pratt in the MCU Yeah, I gotta
I think I'll agree with you there because the
way I kind of look at it and I agree with you
Greg that we have more invested with stark But
I feel like his story has been kind of completed.
I feel like I know I'm the on man out that likes
Iron Man 3, but I felt like that least put a
Nice booking and to his it's it's sailed him
off in the sunset I know he wasn't each of Ultron
and whatnot, but I feel like with Star Lord We
have more to explore we have a lot more open
there And I think Robert Downey jr. Is pretty
much hit the peak of what he can do with that
character But I think there's still a lot Chris
Bratt can do with Star Lord So I would say you
know Robert Downey jr. Is done his thing time
for Star Lord to take the ring I am not mad for
losing that one. Yeah I'm just upset that starks
going against Captain America. So I just want
him to go away Yeah, I'm anti -registration.
So go go away start All right, well, let's think
of some other and this is gonna be hard because
they're both super duper annoying and I feel
like when you talk about annoying celebrities
that you say that I think these two are gonna
be To the first people talk about and that is
Justin Bieber And Miley Cyrus who I guess is
hosting the VMAs Seems ridiculous and be they
have music music videos like do we need don't
you I don't even know those are still thing I
am but I am old so who knows But we hurt we have
to choose between these two who goes away This
one's I I know we wish that would be a draw and
they both are gone forever But you had to pick
one who we're gonna go with They both commit
suicide and everybody wins. We Question like
is there a chance when they're fighting that
it's gonna be hard to tell who's who? Yes Here's
here. Here's my opinion. I think we should cut
off Miley Cyrus and then this way kids Justin
Bieber could still be deported to Canada. That
works, right? I think you're going to say cut
off Miley Cyrus because Justin Bieber could be
her and himself. That's also very true. I really
don't want to see Justin Bieber, Justin Bieber
twerking. I don't really want to see them twerking.
Or on a wrecking ball. Although they have the
same exact body type, so. That's true. I get
rid of Justin Bieber. He's at least forgetting
boobies with Miley Cyrus. Where? Yeah, even though
it's disgusting with her naked, I don't know.
I feel gross every time she's naked. I don't
know. I just it's once again, I think Justin
Bieber has a little bit more of an ego. Miley
Cyrus is a little bit more look at me. And I
usually hate people with egos more than the look
at me thing. So I'm going to cut off Justin Bieber.
All right, Chuck, do you agree? Let me start
by saying. Never thought I would say this phrase,
but I feel sorry for Billy Ray Cyrus Who would
have thought like the mullet would be the best
thing that ever happened to him I know right
I feel so bad cuz he you know, they had Hannah
Montana, you know She was a role model for young
girls and everything just all of a sudden just
went off a cliff and That you know was totally
over Know she is really disgusting like The faces
she makes like it's just Unbelievable like I
always see those like, you know those weird ads
on the bottom of web pages like the clickbait
things She's always in those and like those really
disgusting poses and making weird ass contorted
faces and stuff She's really annoying from that
aspect. But um, I know Bieber was annoying because
he got like involved with uh, uh, what was it
keeshawn johnson was his neighbor or whatever
and he was Pissed off at him because he was driving
his ferrari really fast on the street or something.
Yeah, he's pretty obnoxious, but boy, I don't
know I think I i'm still holding out hope that
one of them is gonna grow up at some point and
just yeah, I would think if you say one would
be I think Miley Cyrus probably has a better
chance of growing up because Yeah, she's kind
of crazy, but I almost kind of feel bad for her
because you think about it like When you you've
become that type of like symbol at such a young
age it's kind of kind of mess you up because
like Being followed by paparazzi and like being
kind of ogled by really old guys. It's got to
mess you up as a person So I kind of I I think
I sympathize with her a lot more than Justin
Bieber who's just a tool Yeah, you know like,
you know, she he's just a douchebag. I feel like
Mollie Cyrus it might be just a I think it's
just someone trying to it's confused and I kind
of I can understand why she'd be confused or
just trying to figure out who she is as a person
and I think so I would I would rather Bieber
go away because and then her go and I think at
least I Don't listen to either in their music.
I've heard I mean I've heard both songs I would
say I think Miley Cyrus makes better music than
he does so I was just I was just gonna say I
think I'm I'm gonna pick Bieber to go away because
I actually somewhat enjoy Miley Cyrus is singing
more than his. Yeah. Yeah, no, I don't have them
either in my iTunes shuffle or anything like
that. But, you know, you do, Dan, admit it. No,
I know. I know there are my ringtones. For people
I know, I don't want to pick up the phone for.
Well, Justin Bieber, Colin did not answer that.
Why won't you pick up? I don't know. Chuck, do
you have any more? Oh, yeah, sure. We'll throw
one out there. How about a little comic book
one? This could be interesting. Apologize for
stealing one of Greg's jokes here, but Apocalypse
versus Ivan Ooze. I stole that one off Twitter
like Conan O 'Brien. It doesn't have to be serious
I'll go with I'll go with apocalypse because
I haven't used this just creepy. It's just he
looks like kind of like a pedophile. I'm not
gonna lie Yeah, both of them are way too much
purple though, yes And when their powers powers
combine they become grimace from Michael from
McDonald's I'll throw a serious one out These
are two comedians, two comedic actors. One was
once great, I guess. Once had a lot of great
movies back in the day. Another one was once
mediocre, I guess, maybe you would say. But let's
do Adam Sandler versus Seth Rogen. Seth Rogen
and Adam Sandler, wow. I know Adam Sandler's
been bomb in his last few movies here. Yeah,
I know a lot of people are saying you should
just give it up. I Mean, I love a lot of you
know, Adam Sandler's films like, you know, Happy
Gilmore Big Daddy Billy Madison Some of his comedy
some of his serious stuff serious stuff, too
And I don't know. I don't really hate Seth Rogen.
I He's fine and even I don't love everything
he does, but I thought I liked him and knocked
up and 40 -year -old Virgin can't really think
of anything he's done recently that comes. Oh,
the one where he was with James Franco. Oh, the
interview. Yes, that was really good. Yeah, I
didn't I didn't mind that. So I I don't really
I don't hate Sandler like I. I think he's better
than the comedies. He's making I haven't seen
pixels, but I think he was in the cobbler this
year with which I thought he was okay in the
movie itself wasn't that great, but Man, so I
don't really have either dislike for either of
these guys I would say I Guess I would I feel
like Seth Rogen's at least trying I feel like
Sandler's just getting a paycheck nowadays. It
seems like even in his movies. He has no He's
just kind of just there. So I would say move
on Seth Rogen or and let Sandler's career die.
Maybe you can stop making movies and go back
to making tapes like you did back in the day
or audio CDs. Fair enough. Greg, what would say
you? Yeah, I really agree with Dan. I liked the
interview with Seth Rogen. So that's a lot of
points for him. I haven't seen anything really
from Sandler lately that's really been getting
me excited at all. I haven't seen pixels, but
it doesn't look too promising. So I'm going to
kick Sandler out and stick with Seth Rogen. Oh,
looks like it looks like I'll be the odd man
out here. I would actually push Adam Sandler
through as bad as some of his movies have been
lately. I haven't personally seen pixels yet
either, but hurt is terrible. And I have seen.
Was it I think grown -ups was the exception that
was actually pretty good be a decent supporting
cast there But uh was the one funny people that
maybe horrible I get to see funny people. Yeah,
I did not like that one either but yeah, he just
seems like he's he's really slipping lately,
but I Still do have a lot of respect for him
and Seth Rogen. Maybe I'm just the only one like
this but I have never liked this guy in any role
that he's ever been in. He's just completely
obnoxious to me. I can't stand him for whatever
reason. I don't know really why, but... It's
just because you're a big Green Hornet fan and
he did a terrible job with that movie. Yes, that's
true, but also like observe and report. Now that
was a weird movie. That was so weird. That was
horrible. I Really even didn't like him in 40
year old virgin all the annoying like Hipster
like pothead roles. He's been in I don't know.
I just for whatever reason I just don't like
the guy maybe it's just personal preference,
but I would push Adam Sandler through Interesting.
How does it feel to be low man out? Huh? How's
it feel? All right, well I have another one here
it's too Again to people I think at least I like
both of these guys a lot to science -based guys
through the biggest I guess geeks in science
to maybe not when it comes to I guess when it
comes to like pop culture and science combined
and that's Bill Nye the science guy and Neil
deGrasse Tyson Yes, one I think who was very
much in our childhood and one that's kind of
come on lately, you know Neil deGrasse Tyson
and He does a lot of geek related stuff any ideas
of who you would say would go away and who would
I would go because I actually watched, they had
on Netflix recently, they have the old Bill Nye
the Science guy shows on and I actually watched
it recently. And it kind of killed it for me,
you know when you grow up and everything and
your opinions change Huge change for the most
part and so I really didn't care for it So I'm
gonna go with Neil deGrasse Tyson just cuz I'm
an adult to this point and he's kind of got more
of that adult Sensibility to to me at this point.
I love both of them though. So Have you ever
listened to his podcast start doc? I have not
listened to Star Talk, but I have heard and seen
him on different things, and I think he seems
like a fun guy. And he seems very knowledgeable
about about different things didn't like that.
He he demoted Pluto but stuff Yeah, I would I
would highly recommend start talk. It's pretty
good because he does a lot of Obviously talk
about astronomy and whatnot, but he also has
like comedians on too. So it's a it's really
good I enjoy it quite quite a bit Chuck don't
know if you have an opinion on this matter, but
do you have a do you have an idea who you would
choose? Yeah, I'm actually a big promoter of
Neil deGrasse Tyson. I really like that guy a
lot. I think he's not only a great narrator for
the shows he's on and stuff like that. He just
seems like a really nice man. You know what I
mean? He does. He just feels like you could like
sit down and have like have a cup of Joe with
him and everything would be good. Yeah. He would
have tea with your grandma and just like listen
to her day like like and he would do it happily.
You know, he's just a nice guy. But I don't know.
I think I'd push him through. I did watch Bill
Nye in Science Guy as a kid. Like Greg, I enjoyed
it much more back then. But I just, for whatever
reason, I kind of wonder about him because, like,
I've heard some things. I don't know if they're
true. I know some people have said he's kind
of a dick in real life. I have no evidence to
back that up at all, so I really don't know.
But just I'm a really big fan of Neil Grass Tyson,
so I would definitely push him on through. I
would make it a trifecta. They're both great.
But again, it's more like I said, I don't really
feel nigh I don't really listen to much what
he does anymore. Like I see him on shows in here
and there. He's funny He's still really smart
guy and he's obviously I think When you try to
make kids excited about science, that's awesome.
But like I said, I love star talk and I think
Neil deGrasse Tyson He's just got that soothing
voice and you know, you have the you have the
bow tie versus the mustache and I'm gonna go
with the mustache so But it comes down to you.
Mustache always wins. Facial hair is pretty awesome,
Dan. It really is. So maybe we'll make this the
last one. And let's go back to the world of sports
and talk about two other infamous athletes. And
two athletes both hailing in Cleveland currently.
And we have LeBron James against Johnny Football
himself, Johnny Manziel. Had a choice. Who would
you say needs to go away and who gets to keep
on going be in their sport? All -star, I guess
you would say That that's a tough one that's
that's actually really tough Greg do you have
anything to jump right on? Here's the thing.
I don't know that much about Johnny Manziel.
He haven't really seen him out on the field much.
So I have really no opinion of him. But LeBron
James, I just, it's once again, I feel like he
has this giant ego of how awesome he is. And
like I've been saying, that kind of kills things
for me. Like I do not like people with egos.
So I would definitely kick LeBron James out because
you don't see that much of Johnny. Manziel. So
I would rather get rid of LeBron James. And I
think Johnny Manziel is going to be out of the
league soon anyway. That's kind of might be true.
That might be true. Chuck, do you share Greg's
opinion? Are you going to go with Johnny football?
I think I share his opinion only because I think
Johnny Menzel is going to take himself out of
the equation, like you said. Don't get me wrong.
He's definitely annoying with the little money
symbol thing he does with his fingers. I think
that's incredibly arrogant, but, you know, and
I, part of it is he kind of does it to get the
other team riled up and get in their head a little
bit. It's kind of a form of trash talk, but it's
still like some of the other things he's done.
Like it's just. Like a lot of focuses on him.
You know what I mean? Like it's just, at least
like as much as I don't really care for LeBron,
I got to respect the guy. He is a ridiculously
good basketball player and he has earned. I'll
say most of the praise that he's gotten. The
guys won a couple of championships. So, I mean,
he's lost more than he's won. I got to stick
that in there. You know, Jordan six and oh, you
know, I'm just saying. But yeah, I I think at
least I have a little bit more respect for lebron
because he's a he's a hardcore player He's hardcore
baller. You know what I mean? Yeah But uh, yeah,
I think menzel's gonna remove himself from the
equation. I don't actually yeah I see I I would
go with I would rather see johnny menzel go away
I mean first of all his paint his face just looks
very punchable It just looks like he just needs
to get hit it just I don't I'm not a very violent
person But it's just like you look at him. It's
like he Even if you never saw him or ever heard
of him you walk into a room. You see that face
You're like that guy's kind of a douche Yeah
This is happening and I don't really I don't
mind like the whole decision thing with LeBron
was kind of ridiculous but I feel like with his
ego or what have you it he He at least backs
it up and I think at least as a Player per se
he he definitely isn't like say like a ball hog
like Kobe doesn't he does try to get his team
involved and stuff like that So I would say he's
more of a team player at that aspect of it. So
I would say Johnny Manziel go away and LeBron
James you can try to lose another championship
next year. So I think I think I made a I may
have misspoken I meant to say For Manziel to
go away. That's the whole point. I was driving
it with LeBron being more respectable. I think
I just totally spaced and didn't say it right.
But yeah, so we're curious to hear what people
thought of our little game today of our celebrity
death matches and I disagree or like I said,
any other matches we feel like we can do in the
future. We'd like to end each episode with a
letter and we actually have another letter here
from Zach Mervin. I apologize if I'm saying that
incorrectly. Kind of a shorter letter. He says
a lot here, but I'm just going to get down to
the The nitty gritty, um, Zach basically writes
into us and asks us if we had, I guess you might
have. Wrote this in before we had our last episode
when we talked about comic -con, but he asked
us What did you guys think of the stuff that
came out of comic -con about star wars to me?
That's what we should be doing more often instead
of doing a trailer Some sort of video like that.
It just shows how much love is put into a project
Honestly, if I never saw star wars before I would
immediately want to see it just because of that
trailer. JJ Abrams looks like he's doing things,
right? I'm super excited. Are your and there
are any other star wars movies you feel like
they should make besides the Rogue Nation or
the Rogue One movie that's coming out next year
as well. So a Star Wars question for us. I think
we talked about that a little last week, right?
The Star Wars, or at least two weeks ago when
we talked about the Comic -Con stuff. What's
Star Wars? Oh, it's that, okay. So let me break
it down for you. A long time ago, in a galaxy
far, far away. Bunch of stuff somehow in the
future was somehow in the future I don't know.
Did you guys see that? It was like the featurette
trailer that they it wasn't it was like kind
of a behind -the -scenes with Yes, did you guys
get chances? I did not see that. Yes. That was
pretty awesome I would I will have to send that
to you Greg I think you will enjoy and I agree
with him that it it doesn't give you much when
guarding the movie just it's like behind the
scenes and it just it looks awesome because everything's
Practical and it makes you feel like you're watching
them make the original film. So I agree. What
did you what did you think of the video, Chuck?
I liked it a lot. And I do agree. It looks to
me like JJ Abrams is kind of doing things the
right way. I think they're going more like. What
do you want to say, like the more puppeteer approach
to things like, obviously, there's going to be
some CGI in some places, but it's it's really
looking like the original trilogy to me, like
it has that same feel to it, that same tone sort
of. It was just cool seeing like the actors sort
of on the set, like, you know, not on camera,
though, like just kind of horsing around and
like talking a little bit. It was it was just
really neat to see it kind of made the whole
project endearing and really got you interested
in seeing it. Yeah, I agree and he's like Simon
Pegg has a cameo in it you see like he's playing
some random like creature in the background and
some movie So that's that's that's definitely
kind of cool great great I think maybe you could
probably approach the second question because
you've read a lot of the expanded universe stuff
Is there anything he mentions other Star Wars
movies you would like to see anything that comes
to mind that you may want to? Would love to see
a Darth Bane movie. That's the kind of this whole
start of the the Sith coming back into action
I loved those books So I'd really love to see
that and then idea I just had as soon as you
read that question has to do with a video game
That's Star War base Star Wars base that we all
love which is Star Wars Battlefront I'd love
to see something kind of like Star Wars mixed
with Saving Private Ryan or More like documentary
historical type of feel movie where you're kind
of down in the action with a couple of grunts
Fighting so I think that would be be kind of
interesting concept for Star Wars something that
they haven't really done before Yeah, that'd
be I heard with the rogue wars at rogue nation.
I forget the name of it I think we're all going
on that's coming out next year that it's like
someone said it's like Star Wars meets zero dark
30 so to see how that works out so maybe you
might get a little bit of that but yeah that
would be kind of like a boots on the ground type
of movie during the Clone Wars would be kind
of cool. Anything come to your mind Chuck? I
would love to see something that uh something
that the Expanded Universe did was they kind
of brought uh Darth Maul back with mechanical
legs because we know when uh you know characters
get appendages chopped off they could just get
mechanical ones that's how it works apparently
they they perform just as just as well but uh
there was there was a pretty cool story where
you know Darth Maul actually survives that encounter
with Obi Wan and Qui -Gon um back in the Phantom
Menace and like you know he sort of gets some
medical attention and some help and at this point
the Emperor sort of just casts him aside and
I don't know whether he assumes he's dead or
if he just writes him off because he's kind of
pursuing uh Anakin now but or actually he had
Dooku first but then Anakin uh but uh Darth Maul
sort of makes his own comeback and actually confronts
down the line Darth Vader and those two fight.
So I thought I think if they could work that
into a movie somehow like a make like a Clone
Wars period movie or something, I think that
would be pretty awesome. And could you do you
think you could do with Darth Vader? And I guess
I guess James Earl Jones is still alive. I guess
you could still do the voice, but. Yeah, I think
they could manipulate or somebody could come
close enough that they could do darth vader.
They could just make noises like No, you know
how that you know That on repeat over and over
again. Just cut the lines from like other movies
and just stick them in there, you know, exactly
Exactly. Yeah, I mean I i'm not the darth bane
trilogy Trilogy like craig mentioned. I thought
that I enjoyed those books. I would be all for
Seeing a movie based upon that or even like the
old republic. I love that original video game
So there's something back then and that's something
that's even longer ago yet. Somehow the technology
is basically the same. So that's I don't know
how that works for that. I did I did like that
with the dart with maven I think I forget his
name. It's been a raven I forget it's been a
long time since I played that game, but that
would be kind of cool I don't know much about
the expanding universe. So Would I just think
it'd be good if they got like a red or got away
from just doing characters We already know I
know there was rumor about doing like an obi
-wan movie and I don't know I like obi -wan,
but I don't necessarily think I need a movie
based upon I think people would really enjoy
I Forget his name, but I know he's a very popular
character. I'm gonna try and throw it out there.
It's a throne Something like that. There was
a trilogy about him I I don't think I ever really
got into that too much, but I know he has a very
popular following Yeah, so I think that would
be a good one to throw out there. It'd be kind
of cool to see other mean Tron, right? It'd be
cool to see them like approach other type of
genres within Star Wars kind of like Marvel,
you know, there was that zombie Star Wars book
that Would be oh, that was a really good book.
I don't know how exactly you could do that, but
that may be kind of I don't I doubt they would
ever Go that route, but you know, maybe like
an adventurous film or something like that. So
I don't know about like a Castaway type movie
but set in the Star Wars universe like someone
that's just lost somewhere in this really weird
place and they run into all these weird creatures
and weird situations, I'd be interesting that
I could see that yeah, like Gravity meets castaway
meets Star Wars. Yeah Perfect we million dollars
ideas all around and that person At the end you
find out there Darth Vader like I don't be weird.
I don't know copyright talking in circles Or
Boba Fett, I guess I guess it'd be cool way to
do the Boba Fett movie worries that maybe not
I'm not sure Alrighty, but who see the Boba Fett
movie where he's just stuck in the throat of
the Oh, uh the sarlacc sarlacc pit. Yeah, it's
like yeah thousand years, huh? It's just him
for a half an hour going You ever see that movie
buried with robin reynolds it'll be kind of like
that Just calling people. They'll be like, hey,
how's it going? Uh, not much stuck in the sarlacc
pit still Yeah, still got 999 years to go. So
