Hi, this is Kevin Conroy, and you're listening

to the Geekcast Radio Network. You are now on

the inside of what I like to call the circle

of trust. We are all connected in a great circle

of life. You know something, Bert? I think you

and I are going in circles. It feels like we're

going in circles. The Circle is now complete.

When I left you, I was but the third. Now I am

the last. Because it's a circle. Yeah, we heard

about the circle. Yes, we're familiar with shapes.

Hi, this is Chuck. This is Craig. And this is

Dan, and we are Talking in Circles, brought to

you by the Geekcast Radio Network. The podcast

that's gonna get gluttonous. I say that today

because... In the spirit of summertime and cookouts,

we're going to be talking about some of the craziest

food that's out there and kind of discuss if

we would partake in all of its craziness. So

we'll get to that in a second segment before

we get to all the food fun. How's the week been

going for you guys? Pretty good. Just happy to

be able to get online, I guess, because I was

kind of without Internet for like two days. So.

Well, how did you how did you check Facebook

without Internet for two days? I know, I guess

I was kind of like back in the dark ages, you

know, before they had Facebook. I wasn't sure

if I was in any relationships or, you know, I

wasn't sure where I worked. Yeah. I mean, how

you weren't sure like, oh, you're social status

of like how good something was that you said

because you didn't have likes to measure its

greatness. Yeah, I wasn't sure if I was funny

or, you know. If anyone really liked to talk

to me, I didn't know how many friends I had.

Do you walk around to people and it's like, do

you like this? Do you like this? Can you, but

yeah, that was a fun time. Concast is kind of

a pain in the butt sometimes. Sometimes. Luckily

you're back in here. So that's awesome. Yeah.

Greg, how's things going with you? Pretty okay.

Uh, nothing's really going on for the most part.

Just, uh, Got through a huge little league and

got that all sorted out a new system at work

Now that I have it figured out it works pretty

awesome. So yeah boring Hi, that's exciting Hi

mom, i'm boring It's okay, it's okay, but i've

been i've been quite busy it's been a lot of

family coming down to visit that we hadn't Which

is lots of like me eating good food, which is

always fun. We'll get which we'll talk more about

but My brother -in -law and his girlfriend came

down and we'll just we went to a thing called

the gathering in Baltimore Which is all of the

punch of food trucks kind of get together and

they have like bands and stuff like that Which

is which is fun. It was nice. So The bad thing

is like the food truck. I really like isn't there

wasn't there because they like they're notorious

because they put They get Cones like waffle cones

and they use it to create all different crazy

things with a beef barbecue and stuff like that

But they weren't there but I didn't get I didn't

get some good Greek food and I don't know do

you guys eat Greek food at all? I've never had

it actually I was always wondering is a gyro

is a gyro, you know is I don't know which way

to go with it But I also heard euro or something.

Yeah. Yes It's so many so many different options,

but I had whatever one you wanted to go with

Uh, uh, chicken gyro and uh, that was a lot of

fun. And then we took them to chaps pit beef.

Baltimore location. I think, and I think I found

something that's better than their famous Raven,

which is there. I think it's called the Larry

or something like that. I forget, but. It's pastrami,

like a ton of pastrami, ham and roast beef all

together. And then I add in some American cheese

and I add in some jalapenos and tiger sauce and

barbecue sauce. You can't even close the bun

with all the food. It's like, it's like getting

a pound of each from the deli and putting it

all in one sandwich and then eating it and then

feeling bad about yourself later. But it was

worth it. So. Tiger sauce is good stuff. Yeah.

But then I had my brother come down and with

his three kids and we went to the aquarium in

Baltimore and First time i've gone to in a little

bit. So they actually have like new new Attractions

and there's a spot where you can actually like

pet jellyfish And you can pet jellyfish. Yeah,

you can pet jellyfish Is there an area where

everyone pees on themselves afterwards? Yeah,

it's actually it's manned by R Kelly. He just

uh No, they're they're this type of jellyfish

I guess like like their stingers can't like are

too ineffective for humans So you don't feel

anything at all. So uh, but also like stingrays

and stuff like that, too So that was that was

cool. But the funny thing is it was uh, One of

the kids birthdays so and we went to cheesecake

factory You don't want to do because we're american

you do the thing to get them to sing the song

But like he was not having it. And as they started

singing the song, he kept yelling, it's not my

birthday. It's not my birthday. Cause he didn't

want like the intention, but I'm like, they're

going to think we're trying to scam them. They

get this free ice cream by, you know, by, by

saying, telling him it's his birthday when it

really wasn't. But, uh, and then they were all

traumatized because he went over and started

pouting in the quarter and they felt really bad

about themselves. The girls were singing. I'm

like, It's okay kids forget. I was it was a long

day. Then, you know, it's one of those things

It was like he's like he's four. So, yeah, he's

not used to being an American yet. Just it's

free Just shut up and take it Yeah, exactly exactly

but so yeah, I've been busy so but I I did get

the chance to see I went to the drive -in and

Saw a movie and I know Greg not Greg Chuck. You

saw it as well. I And that's and that's Jurassic

World I'm gonna actually you guys just text me

when you're done on the screen You guys could

talk all you want about it. All right, we won't

we won't go into spoilers or anything like that

So I still don't want to hear anything at all.

I still have yet to see it. I am terrible person

I know I'm sorry. So just at the end of the day,

let's really extinct did you find out the entire

time? It's all been a dream Damn it. Um now just

just write me when you guys are done. Okay, all

right killing Nazis Obviously like I know You

do too. You still have a soft spot for the first

one. Oh, definitely two and three maybe not so

much I do enjoy the third one, but this one I

really thought was like Very close to the first

one. I don't know. I liked the story. They didn't

get too crazy or anything like a dinosaur running

around New York City or something. But it was

very interesting how they did it. Just combining

all of these elements into what they did and

referencing the original movie. I thought that

was very well done, very classy. It won't give

anything away, but there's actually a lot of

references to the old film, like Easter eggs,

if you want to call them that or whatever. I

was surprised by how much I'm like, I thought

they'd be a little bit, but there was a great

deal of like, wow, they're really, they're not

holding back with this at all. So yeah, I heard

there was like 15 instances or something where

they reference the old movie. Yeah. And sometimes

it's really overt, you know, where the guy with

like a t -shirt and then. Just the way someone's

like walking and holding a flare or something

like that So it it definitely varies in though

in the different callbacks to the original Yeah,

so it still had like to me it had sort of that

feel to it like you were back in 1993 kind of

watching something right and I know they like

they did a lot of Puppeteering just to kind of

make it look realistic and look more like the

first one obviously there was some CG but I thought

that was pretty cool and it had it had the same

look and the same feel as the original I thought

in a lot of ways some ways different but I really

I'm really really starting to like Chris Pratt

every like more and more every movie I see him

in like he sort of brings the same type of attitude

but he just seems like such a cool guy like I

would totally hang out with Chris Pratt like

he's just awesome and uh like the the kid says

uh like kid calls him a badass in the movie and

stuff but yeah it was just i like pretty much

everything about it it was a little predictable

i won't say in what way i don't want to ruin

anything but i kind of i kind of predicted how

things would turn out in the end but i was still

one thing still surprised me a lot and i was

not disappointed in any way so like you mentioned

tragic park is one of my all -time favorite films

It's like the movie that I think for a lot of

our generation Let us fall in love with movies,

you know Some people would say like star wars

in that aspect in the sense that it was like,

you know the right age You're a kid who already

loves dinosaurs and there's this movie about

dinosaurs and it's really good It's like the

first movie I owned that wasn't a Disney movie

So I had the toys like so dragster park is huge.

I think for me I've watched that movie probably

more so than any other movie ever maybe like

a Latin Aladdin and the mighty dogs are with

my holy trinity of movies. I watched as a kid

The major league is in there too for some reason

But so I think I liked it I think I didn't like

it nearly as much as you did or preface this

by by saying when seeing in the drive -in like

it there it was difficult because it It you it's

a lot darker. And so I feel like a lot of the

action sequences. I didn't fully See in all their

glory, especially the ones at night It's hard

to kind of track everything because it doesn't

the screens not as as bright as it would be since

it's outside so it was a little rainy too, so

it made it up for Kind of a challenging watch.

So when I saw Something happen to me when I saw

into darkness, so it was hard to really judge

it because it was just such a Annoyance of just

trying to watch the movie. But the thing that

kind of bugged me I said but but like some of

the characters I felt weren't as strong for the

most part. I like I like you Chris Chris Pratt

I thought he was great and I agree that he's

very Movie star ask he's that he has that charisma

personality What I liked about him in this is

that he had a sense of humor But it was not it

was dialed back a great deal to kind of fit the

character. I felt like if Chris pratt and the

guy from the hunter guy from the first film kind

of combined into one character It was a little

bit of any any jones, maybe but yeah, I wasn't

the craziest about brace brace dallas howards

character, uh, or her performance I I don't know

like it didn't work for me that great and uh,

there's two kids in it and I thought the little

kid the younger kid was pretty good but the older

kid had just found him a tad bit annoying at

times and I I know that was kind of the point

and he was supposed to Grow in that aspect, but

it just it never got there for me It's interesting

and There are some really good set pieces that

I liked a lot like the pterodactyl sequence.

It's a huge standout but there's some of them

that just I wonder if they make sense logistically

like the the kids in the that glass I don't forget

what it's called. But uh, oh Yeah, I know what

you're talking about. It's that like the you

know, they're by themselves in this glass Basically

vehicle and you know, it's a great set piece,

but it didn't feel like it'd be a real Like ride

like it doesn't yeah, I kind of thought that

too. That's like it's a tad dangerous to actually

let people go do that Around dinosaurs in general

because they're gigantic creatures No, it's dangerous

enough to be around like horses or something

like that But in that instance, but so I did

though think like the park itself I enjoyed just

seeing it like an action like that idea of seeing

it like working and seeing little things like

a Like a petting zoo for dinosaurs and like a

sea world thing. It's like sort of the, you know,

the original idea, like fully realized. Yeah.

Yeah. And I almost wish like you got a little

bit more of that. Like you saw it. Action or

maybe you saw just a progression of it more I

don't know I just I wish we got a little bit

more Because I felt like we were there and then

now it's now now the best stuff's happening so

I'm trying not to compare it to the original

because I think it's impossible because you keep

looking for that t -rex sequence the t -rex escape

sequence something the equivalent of that and

it never comes and it never will you know, it's

like that's that's impossible, so I try not to

compare it to that but I know I I'm gonna have

to disagree with that. There was a certain part

that really blew my mind in this one like Well

giving too much away, but they sort of Opened

the gate and she has the flare That that part.

I don't know. Just like yeah for me. It kind

of got giddy when I saw that part I was like

awesome. I was freaking out See in that sequence

the issue that happened for me was that it was

so dark that like I didn't it was just like I

can't follow anything that was happening so it

was it was scary like i'm i'm a 30 year old male

with my wits fully about me sitting in a movie

theater in the top row in the corner and i was

i got a little bit scared there with the t -rex

i was oh that's freaking awesome and this i don't

know if it's issue because i've kind of gone

back and forth with it but you know they're definitely

you know the use of john williams music and there's

like the and especially like the the Jurassic

Park theme and Seems like it's trying to get

at that like childlike wonderment the first one

had but it never quite gets gets there but I

also wonder is that kind of the point because

there's this the one shot where it like he opens

it up to the the guy gets into the hotel and

he opens up his the door and you kind of see

Jurassic World and all its glory and like the

music hits and you know it I can't help but compare

it to like we know with the welcome Jurassic

Park moment in the original and I wonder if the

juxtaposition there was purposeful so you have

one that's more of a natural state And then you

have one that's really artificial theme park.

And one has, you know, it's like, oh my God,

look at it. And another one's like, oh, it's

like a, it's like a theme park, like Disneyland,

which is nice, but it's not the same. So I almost

feel like that's purposeful because it then the

way the movie goes with obviously the idea of

the, uh, humans are kind of tired of dinosaurs

already and we want something new. I almost think

that was the intent. I think watching it a second

time would certainly be helpful. But I did overall

enjoy it. I do agree with you, though, that I

would say it's definitely better than two and

three, though I do kind of like to like I have

a love -hate relationship with The Lost World.

There are parts that I love, you know, like the

one sequence with the T -Rexes and the camper

on the side of the mountain. I think that's brilliant.

But then there's the girl using gymnastics to

fight a raptor. It's like, why? Why do these

exist in the same movie? So I'm actually probably

I'm gonna probably gonna go try to see it again

in a real theater. So you get it to get the full

effect of it. I'm going to see it again because

I really want to. It just usually I don't go

see a movie twice unless it's a Marvel movie

because I'm obsessed with those. But this one

I want to see again. It's like I. Don't know

like it did give me very similar sense of wonder

watching the first one for whatever reason like

it just really took me back and I Got really

really excited and giddy at certain parts of

the movie So do you kind of thinking in the summer

so far? Would you say you enjoyed Jurassic World

more than Avengers 2? No, I think I think I still

enjoyed Avengers more just but I think that's

just because of yeah, you know just because I

like them more and like from the comics and stuff,

but Don't know. I really did enjoy it though.

And one thing I wanted to add to was uh It's

to kind of link it to Marvel stuff Like it's

funny that you could almost create like a Marvel

movie out of Jurassic World You have Star Star

Lord Kingpin and Bishop All in the same movie.

I didn't realize that was that guy that played

Bishop. That's funny. Yeah Omar Sai. Yeah, that

was one The one thing though like the whole like

military aspect of it, which i'm like, I don't

this feels like pieces from a different movie

kind of but I don't know like it seemed odd to

me, but I do think there's a lot of we talked

about aliens and aliens last week and There's

a lot of ties to this and aliens a lot of the

different things that they're doing It does feel

almost like they're definitely taking this and

pizzas from aliens, which is kind of cool You

know seeing like uh soldiers go off to dinosaurs

and stuff, which is yeah interesting Yeah, I

thought it was an interesting take that this

guy sort of had a military mindset. He wanted

to weaponize Like dinosaurs or something. I mean,

yeah, it seems a little a little outlandish but

the the whole movie is kind of outlandish to

begin with but um a little bit, but I mean I

thought his character, like, he was very easy

to hate to the point where it was almost kind

of a cliche type of character, which, I mean,

could be good or bad, depending on your personality.

But I think they just kind of, you just kind

of needed that because it's like, I don't know,

people, let's be honest, people are going to

see this movie to see dinosaurs and you see a

jerk guy and you're like, I want to see that

guy get eaten. So he's just kind of there to

serve his purpose. And that's what he's. It's

why in the original Jurassic Park one of the

first people to get eaten in the movie is the

lawyer on the toilet So right and that's my favorite

kill in the history of cinema The best one ever.

It's just a guy seen on the toilet gets eaten

by T -Rex Yeah, and the guy being a lawyer too.

It's like it is a trifecta. There's you cannot

you cannot top that People just love to see a

jerk character get his due on the screen I think

a lot of times as long as they fulfill that purpose

people are happy like Even if even if it's a

huge cliche, but yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think

even the original traffic park, I love it. Don't

get me wrong. But the characters themselves are

I love the characters, but they're not the most

deep characters in the world. They're pretty

they have certain traits and they just do this

traits really well. And I just think they work.

Intended a little bit more. I just I don't know

if the characters and drastic world are as strong

I mean Chris Pat's good, but the surrounding

ones I wasn't as keen on I did like Jake Johnson

who was like the tech guy or the computer guy

in the yeah drastic park shirt on I thought he

was funny. I thought he was no good use of comic

relief and Some other side characters here and

there Yeah, I could agree with you. They're the

supporting cast wasn't as great as the first

one, but I do think though there's the pterodactyl

sequence alone is makes it worth worth seeing

for sure Yeah, a few other ones too were pretty

good even like the the orb scene even though

it seemed contrived it was it was fun to watch

at least and And what I could see at the end

that that was pretty cool. Just the idea of it

is, you know fun Yeah, and as far as I know Correct

me if I wrong, but I think the only guy in it

from the original was Dr. Henry Henry Wu, right?

Yes, and mr. Danny And Mr. DNA didn't have a

cameo. Yeah, yeah, he did. Which I was happy

about, so. But yeah, there's a lot of cool stuff

in there. Very cool. So we should bring Greg

back. I wish we could get into more of the Easter

eggs, because there's a ton of cool Easter eggs

in there, but I don't want to ruin it for anybody.

Definitely. I mean you can there's articles online.

You can certainly go to though I feel like Greg

might be the one not seeing it because it made

like a trillion dollars in the box office I didn't

see it. It did It did take the throne away from

the original Avengers for opening weekend. So

I did not expect that to happen. I thought I

didn't either I don't know and the first movie

in history to make over 500 million opening weekend

There's a lot of love for there and I just I

don't know what they're gonna make a sequel.

I just don't know What they're gonna do because

even though like it doesn't even the original

drastic part doesn't really Lend itself great

to a sequel. Maybe like Jurassic War or something

like that Well, my cousin and I were talking

I think they're gonna go with like uh, jurassic

universe And it'll be like dinosaurs in space.

Maybe they'll be collecting the cosmic heat or

collecting the infinity gems and yeah So cool.

But I know besides that, you also did see another

movie, another big summer blockbuster. Curious

to hear your thoughts on that one. I did. And

everybody likes, well, not everybody, but most

people like a good disaster flick. So I had to

go and check out the newest blockbuster disaster

film. Well, lending my You know, movie preferences,

I had to go see it. Oh, okay. So you were had

to, as in you were inclined to go. Yes. Not like

as you were forced to go. Like I had to go see

Bridget Jones's Diary 2 or something like that.

Right. Like based on my tastes and likenesses

of other movies, I had to go see it. Fair enough,

fair enough. And that is of course San Andreas

with The Rock, which I've never heard of. I don't,

I've never seen anything else. He's such a such

a small guy. It's easy to miss him, you know,

so yeah, he's really kind of tiny I think he's

like four foot ten or something. I don't know

When you realize like he's probably like three

times the size of Schwarzenegger when Schwarzenegger

was at his peak. Oh, yeah Yeah, no, he's huge

but It's I mean, I don't have a whole lot to

say about it. I liked it. I really enjoyed it.

It was a good You know, obviously there's Not

much plot to it. It's pretty basic plot tons

of actions and effects and everything but typical

disaster movie for the most part they do focus

more on the people in their individual situations

rather than the whole situation at large I kind

of thought they would cover more of what was

happening on a grand scale you know since Scientists

have been talking about San Andreas fault for

like decades and like how it could go and like

California to drop in the ocean and all this

stuff like I was interested in the effects that

it would have on other Parts of the country and

other surrounding areas in California and everything

and they do get into that a little bit but for

the most part the the movie focuses on the rock

and his family and Getting to rescue his daughter

and everything. Well, I believe his daughter

is one of Greg's favorites, right? Alexander

D 'Addario plays the actress. Oh, yes, that's

her. She is gorgeous. Honestly, I say that creepy

enough, by the way. Sure, sure. We'll give you

another try at it if you want to try again. Okay.

But honestly, I thought she was one of the best

parts of the movie, like not for. not for murdered

reasons at all, but like she actually was pretty

good in it. She had a very, I don't know what

you would say, like a contagious positive attitude

sort of, you know, she was very uplifting with

her personality or her character's personality

and everything. And she kind of kept some other

characters going. You're led to believe at first

that she's the one that needs rescued. And then

after a while, she starts Helping more than the

other people and everything and she's got a really

good personality and have been helping everyone

out and stuff but uh, she was very good in it

rock was very good and But the only like drawback

I would kind of say other than like the basic

plot if if that's a huge like deal for you is

that Like a lot of disaster movies tend to be

things were very, very convenient at times, like

the way things happen. So and at some points

it does get a tad annoying how convenient things

are. But I mean, you kind of have to expect that

going to a disaster flick. So. And then and Paul

Giamatti was in there. I was I was expecting

him to put on the Rhino armor and ride it out

and that. Did he have a crazy Russian accent?

No, no, he had a normal accent. He was as usual.

Usual self, but he played like the the scientists

like the He wasn't a crazy scientist though.

He was like a you know, like a noble good -hearted

scientist You know trying to warn everybody and

help everybody and everything I mean he had a

fairly limited role, but he was pretty he was

pretty good Have you seen 2012? I was curious

how it compares to that at all. I have yeah I

thought was a lot better than 2012 because I

don't know 2012 was Crazy they threw so much

stuff in there at once. It was just like I'm

surprised I just didn't stop disaster movies

after that because that movie is literally like

everything dies It's like everything destroyed.

Yeah, it's like taking the earth and shaking

it and as a snow globe and like that's Yeah,

pretty much. But yeah, I mean so San Andreas

like if you're a big disaster movie fan I would

go check it out in the theater If you're not

really you probably wait for red box or Netflix

or something like that Yeah, yeah, it's kind

of the way I felt about it, you know if I it

was easy to get the theater I thought I would

see it, but it didn't feel like something I needed

to Yeah, if you really need to escape reality

and you want something really basic to follow,

you know, check it out Yeah, I mean sometimes

it's good to get that little it is yeah, you

need that sometimes you know entertainment candy.

Yeah It's funny cuz I it I hate that I meant

this but you know I've been spending a lot of

nights like up with the baby So it's just good

to have something in the background. It's TV

to kind of keep you up. That's mindless So I

actually been getting back into wrestling for

the first time since like high school Which is

realizing why I don't watch it and then I'm like,

but then I still do watch it. It's like WWE wrestling

Yeah, like like pro wrestling. Yeah, I think

like college like or Olympic style wrestling

or something now No, I didn't do that high school,

but I couldn't watch it to save my life. Sorry

It's ridiculous and but It's interesting. It's

just I was it just kind of nostalgic because

I watched so much growing up until about like

I don't know college Yeah All right. Well, we're

gonna take a quick break But I may advise you

may want to grab a snack before you Listen to

What we're going to be doing today is, you know,

we've had a lot of people saying they love it

when we talk about food. So in spirit of that,

we've cultivated some of the craziest foods that

we could find and we're going to kind of talk

about them and, you know, discuss if we would

eat them or if they're just downright disgusting

or what have you. Unfortunately, we don't have

the ability to taste some of these, though some

of them might be a good thing. But it should

be fun, you know, it should be interesting. And

actually have a I have an interesting one to

start off with and I think I think it's a it's

fitting Just just based on the name. I don't

know I'm curious to hear what you guys think

about this and if this this title alone Would

you say no or yes? But this is from an Indiana

Indianapolis fair and the title of the food is

hot beef sundae Wow, I'd probably have to say

no I would probably say no to, even though I

like the meat aspect of it. I'm not sure if I

would eat something named hot beef Sunday. No,

no. Only if, yeah, the hot beef Sunday. That

used to be my nickname in high school. Uh, anyways.

I remember that. I guess the Hoppy Sunday, the

thing with it though, it's beef made to look

like a sundae. It's basically taking layered

marshmallow potatoes, topping that with marinated

beef and gravy. And then for the sprinkles using

like, sprinkle a little bit cheese on there.

And for the cherry, instead of actual cherry

using a tomato. So it gives this like, it looks

like brown ice cream with yellow cheese on top.

So it looks... disturbing, but it could be good.

So I don't know if that changes your mind at

all. Not really. I am a fan of beef and like

potatoes together with gravy. That could be a

good time. Yeah, I'll try. I didn't want to try

it if it was actual ice cream and beef at the

same time. Yeah, at first I thought that might

be it. And I'm going to have something that's

similar to that. So that'd be interesting when

we get to there. But I guess before we get to

more on, can you guys think of like the craziest

foods you actually ate in real life? I'm not

sure about craziest food, but the craziest way

I had been served food, I was at a hibachi and

they traditionally like to throw food at your

face. So that was fun, but the most interesting

part about it was he kept throwing shrimp at

me. I told him no, I didn't want shrimp. I'm

not a huge seafood fan. So he's like, no, you,

and this is really racist, I'm sorry. He's like,

no, you catch shrimp in mouth, you impress girlfriend.

I'm like, no, dude, I'm. I don't like shrimp.

I'm good. No, you impressed girlfriend He was

very insistent that I impressed my girlfriend

at the time. Um, this was in high school and

uh I'm like whatever dude. Let's just get this

over with so he flipped one into my mouth Caught

it whole table. Cheers guy keeps going Second

one caught it third one caught it fourth one

caught it I got up to nine And then he's throwing

the tenth one at me And my mouth, he didn't give

me any time to chew or swallow. So I just have

a load of hot shrimp in my mouth that I'm holding

there. The 10th one comes flying at me. It hits.

I could feel it hit all the shrimp in my mouth

and bounce right back out again. So, I almost

had a world record there, I think, of catching

shrimp in my mouth. I think that was his plan.

He was just going until he missed. Yeah, exactly.

If he dropped the second one, he probably would

have stopped. I probably should have spit what

I had in my mouth out and caught the tenth. But

like, what do you do? My mouth was just completely

full. He wasn't giving me any time to chew or

swallow or anything. And I wasn't expecting this

amount of shrimp to come into my mouth. I wasn't

even expecting one shrimp to come in my mouth

that night. Regrettably, what you didn't know

at the time is if you caught 10, both of your

meals would have been free. So while it was it

was me and her parents and some other randos

there because you know at hibachi It's a family

sitting thing just always awkward and weird,

but I got applause afterwards Interesting so

it's like impress your girlfriend and grotesque

in the hair parents. It's pretty much She was

impressed though. She like she clapped her hands

and like I got like a little leg rub under the

table from her so There you go, there you go.

You're kind of like the seal at SeaWorld just

catching fish. Pretty much. Let the record show

that on the show so far we have said hot beef

sundae and a load of hot shrimp in my mouth,

so. It's coming in my mouth. Today's gonna be

explicit tag. I don't get the references there.

I don't understand. Yeah, I don't know either.

It's about food. Chuck, have you eaten any weird

and wacky food? I don't know. I think like, I

never really tried any really outlandish stuff.

I guess maybe deep fried Oreo might be like the

craziest thing I've tried. I don't know. That's

a good time. It's a good time. I haven't had,

I haven't had that weird if you'd have had emu

before that. Is disgusting don't eat it ever.

It's like sausage. That's like not been cooked

all the way. Yeah Okay, if we're talking about

animals, I do have some weird animals that I've

tried eating I forgot about that What animals

have I'm just imagining chuck in a forest running

something down And then trying it be like no

let me try something else let me get a little

barbecue sauce on this furry I have tried Grouse

Which tastes just like just like chicken. This

is bird. It's a small game bird that people hunt

It tastes just like chicken. It's really good.

I have tried rabbit Which is very plain. There's

no taste to it at all. I have tried Elk steak,

which is really good Bear meat is pretty good

depends. Sometimes it's not good but sometimes

good and then I've also tried groundhog Yeah,

well I didn't win on my scratch off so Pennsylvania

would get that but uh Yeah, I hunted that bastard

down Like the guy from my catty shack. Yeah,

it was surprisingly kind of tastes like chicken,

too To be honest, but it's kind of weird I've

had you know, I've had shark. I've had like I

said, you knew I've had Shark sounds interesting

never had that Yeah, it was weird had I don't

know what kind of shark it was. I just said shark

so it could have been like any kind like Hopefully

whale shark cuz they look delicious. It's like

it was a lone shark You meant yeah I've had a

kangaroo, which is it's similar to venison and

you know, it was well, it was jerky too. So it

that was interesting venison Yeah, I mean I've

had a lot of like Interesting like new orleans

food like can't like crayfish or crawfish or

whatever because my sister -in -law's from new

orleans have gotten a lot of like interesting

food from there They have an assortment of weird

things they eat alligator Yeah, crocodile and

uh, like man, they will eat anything in that

area so Have you had uh rocky mountain oysters?

I have not Me neither But yeah, so some crazy

crazy food, but you talked about the beef sundae

It's not exactly the way it sounds but this one

kind of is and a lot of people talked about I

don't know if you guys heard about this, but

it's a Krispy Kreme donut dog Okay, I think I

may have heard of that. Yeah So it's currently

being sold at the Wilmington Blue Rockets partnered

with Krispy Kreme and it is a hot dog with glazed

donut bun and It can also just cuz you know,

you know you think about it. You have donut bun,

you know, that's not that's not enough That's

that's not enough. You need more. You need something

extra Of course, what are you gonna put it? What

would you put on top of that? What food would

go on top of that then just to make it a little

bit better jelly Jelly actually is one of them

raspberry jelly Or bacon cuz you know, why not?

Yeah, we're not though bacon on top of there.

So and in doubt just throw into bacon That seems

I don't know if I would eat a doughnut bun with

a hot dog. They just seem two different flavors

Yeah, I like to I like to separate my sweets

and my salties usually Greg would you eat would

you eat the Krispy Kreme doughnut dog? No, like

Chuck. I kind of like to keep those things kind

of things separate. Yeah They can work out like

i'm i'm not i'm not opposed to like dipping the

dipping the fry in the frosty at wendy's You

know, that could be a good time Oh, yeah, i've

had some uh friends that I know have done that

but it's it's really not my thing for the most

part They are some wild and crazy guys wild and

crazy guys But uh quick uh trek you said you

had some crazy foods to talk about as well I

yeah, I found a couple of like uh Couple like

fast food combinations that are really really

strange Some of them I've heard of some of them.

I haven't I'll list the first one. This one is

I have not heard of but it's uh Because nothing

says fancy like Wendy's Wendy's comes out with

a lobster and caviar burger Yeah, so, you know

you got some lobster meat on there and you got

some little tiny fish eggs on top of your burger.

I don't get it. I don't think I would really

even try it because one, I don't like seafood

and two, I really don't want fish eggs on my

burger. I don't think it has any place there.

So yeah, especially like seafood at a Wendy's

just seems like you're putting your life in your

own hands. I know it's like buying a hot dog

off the rack of a gas station. You know, you're

really taking a pretty big risk there for your

for your bowels. I'll just I'll name another

one quick. Oh, this one actually is a really

good idea, I think. And that's, uh, KFC came

out with mac and cheese bites. They're basically,

they're basically just, uh, they kind of like

little poppers. They're just deep fried and they

have macaroni and cheese inside. Did you guys

see the latest news with KFC? I'm scared to know

it. Yes, I unfortunately saw that. There was

apparently somebody who went to KFC and got some

chicken strips, I think they were. And one he

put down on and said it had a tough texture.

It was tough to bite through and that the meat

was kind of dark and everything. And he put a

picture on the Internet of it. And he said, and

it's a piece of chicken that essentially looks

like a rat. And he said it was a deep fried rat,

which somebody somebody zoomed in on the picture

enhanced. And you can see that the meat inside

isn't dark, though. So it's a little weird. He

hasn't really backed up the story with a sample

of this piece of chicken or anything. But, yeah,

that was that was really gross to see. What's

funny you ever hear of someone try to sue Mountain

Dew by saying that like they found a rat in their

in their soda or something like that and to disprove

it Mountain Dew basically showed that it couldn't

have happened because they showed video of like

taking how long it would take for the rat to

get into the the bottle and be sold that Mountain

Dew would actually Dissolve the rats within that

time period so it'd be impossible to happen Yeah,

so it's like I don't you might have won the lawsuit

but you may have lost the war there There's actually

a place around here that's actually selling a

Mountain Dew cured ham sandwich. I think it is

It's yeah, I have not tried it and we've gotten

there twice And I've heard about it both times.

So I would try that Okay, it's that uh, carameas.

They have very good food. I just ate there today.

I didn't know that Oh, did you I had it today,

too What sandwich did you have chuck I had the

southern turkey. Oh nice. I had the mead street

Okay, I never had that It's really good. I had

nachos for lunch. You had that for dinner, too,

didn't you? No, I had it for dinner. For lunch,

I had leftover Cheesecake Factory. Nice. Which

is on itself, like, gluttonous, because, Jesus,

their food's not, like, insane, but their portions

are just ridiculous. I've never been to a Cheesecake

Factory before. We'll have to go and he come

down and it's interesting cuz like the first

time I went I'm not gonna lie. I thought it was

kind of supposed to be kind of like a factory.

I'm like, oh, it's a restaurant. I know To see

like an assembly line of cheesecakes going by

Like years So some other some other crazy food.

This is another one that's at a stadium and this

is Texas at the Texas Rangers and it's fried

s'more. Oh, it's what it's called Basically,

it's Marshmallows flanked by Oreos on a skewer

breaded a graham cracker and deep -fried then

drizzled with chocolate sauce and It's only eight

dollars and the park. It's also selling deep

-fried battered corn on the cob baking cotton

candy and bacon beer I Love bacon, but like I

think we're going a little bit too far with the

bacon like You don't need to put in everything.

There was one beer I saw at one brew fest. Sorry,

I didn't run up to check, but they had, it was

a bacon and donut beer. I did not try it. Over

this weekend, we went to Wegmans. They got a

maple bacon donut, which was interesting. It

was okay. It was a lot of different flavors.

Like you said, the sugary and the salty did not,

it was not like my favorite thing in the world.

Well Burger King would disagree with you and

putting bacon on everything because they had

a bacon sundae. Which actually literally was

an ice cream sundae with bacon on top. I don't

think we need this thing. I don't think it needs

to be a thing that exists. But we do though.

That's the sad part. No, I didn't try that. I

don't think I would try that. And I love bacon

as much as the next guy, but I don't think I

would try that. Well, and then I saw something

to where it was like a bacon candle and I'm just

like why would I want a baking candle? Because

it's just basically gonna like make it me think

there's bacon and then make me get disappointed

where there isn't bacon I knew a guy in college

that his air freshener in his car was a t -bone

steak Smelled like a steak when you got in his

car I know you guys have watched man versus food

and I think this might be even kind of crazy

for him Okay, this is another food one If you

can eat this or the temporary raise or offering

a pair of tickets to it because I need to offer

tickets because no one goes to those games anyways,

but whatever for a $30 four pound burger plus

one pound of fries the burger had eight eight

ounce patties 32 slices of bacon And at least

eight slices of cheese. Damn, son. Guess how

many calories that would have, that totally would

have. Um... 3 ,800. Uh, 5 ,000. 8 ,320 calories.

Wow. And that's not even counting the fries.

For all that you eat all that you get to watch

the Tampa Bay race. So from your hospital bed

where you're having a coronary Exactly. I don't

know how that's a gift at all. Like that's not

Have you guys ever tried any of those three challenges?

I have I think Chuck would do really good in

them. I doubt it Some of them I just want to

enter and then if I lose but like the ones that

you secretly win Yeah, or like I almost wanted

to enter like an eating contest just say like

I wanted wings and then I would just eat the

wings that I like Normally would want and then

like lose but like I got free wings. So I don't

yeah, it was funny, but the one year for Fat

Tuesday at the price chopper by where I work,

which incidentally was the price chopper where

Greg worked It that place is awful We, uh, they

would do the punch key eating contest on fat

Tuesday or whatever, which are those really like

thick doughy donuts. That's like, it almost tastes

like potato bread. It's like so thick or whatever.

But, um, one of my, a couple of my coworkers

like entered the competition and they give you

like a plate of these things. There's like seven

of them on there or something. And, uh, the one,

uh, My one coworker and a couple other people

that were doing it, they start the timer and

they start cramming them in their face and everything.

And my other coworker like just takes one. He's

like taking a real bite out of it, real casual

like and everything. He eats one through the

whole thing and he takes the rest of the plate

home because they let you keep the whole plate.

So he's like, why should I kill myself trying

to eat as many as I can? I just get to take six

donuts home for free now. Jokes on them. Well

needless to say they stopped doing that competition

because everyone started doing that so I've never

done a challenge, but I've wondered how I would

do There's like once it was like a lot of stakes

on the line because there's like the one that

was like a thirty You know hundred dollar steak

you would have to buy or get it free if you finished

it so I don't know if I want that that decision

to be like do I keep eating and pay a hundred

dollars or Short my lifespan and keep going,

you know, there's uh, I know of ones where there's

like They have a pizza. That's so big of it.

Not one single person can eat it So it's like

a two -person competition kind of deal I think

we should do one of those and team up on it this

this one I might try it's uh where only two people

have ever attempted this and It's a 22 inch chili

dog cheese dog covered in onions and jalapenos

One pound of French fries and one pound of baked

beans. So that's a lot of baked beans. I don't

think I'd be able to do it all except for the

baked beans. Yeah, I think so too. One time in

college for dinner, I just had a can of baked

beans and it was just way too much. How do those

homeless people do it? What am I having for dinner

tonight? I'm like, uh, I'll just heat up this

whole can of baked beans. I got halfway through.

I'm like, oh, way too much sodium. Way too much.

Man, that must've been a long night too. For

my roommates. Uh, did you have any more check

or were you done? Yeah, I have a couple other

cool ones. This one, I actually think I would

try. This is found or was found at one point

at Carl's Jr. and that's a strawberry pop tart

ice cream sandwich. No, thank you. So it's basically

just the ice cream sandwich except the top and

bottom are pop tarts. Interesting. I don't know.

I'm a big fan of strawberry pop tarts, so I think

I would try that. Strawberry pop tarts with frosting

or plain? With frosting. Of course with the frosting,

Dan. What the hell are you thinking about? I

like the plain pop tarts. Does anyone even eat

those? Come on. I do. I like plain pop tarts.

Is that weird? Yes, Dan. Makes me think that

they're healthy. I found out in college, I had

a history of food, which I thought was going

to be kind of a fun thing. Like, oh, the... The

sandwich was created by the Earl of Sandwich,

that kind of stuff. Totally not this class. It

was very depressing. It was about starvation

in different countries and stuff like that. But

I found out that the stuff that they make the

icing on top of Pop Tarts is also the same stuff

that they use to make nose cones of fighter jets.

Yes. That is awesome. Little fun fact for you

guys. So when you're eating a pop tart, you're

you're saying you're kind of becoming like a

fighter. Yes You are essentially just play danger

zone while you're eating pop tarts Okay, how

about this one Denny's, you know, we have a long

history with Denny's. We always used to hang

out at Denny's on the weekends. It was like the

last place we went because they're open like

all night. But they've always had some pretty

crazy things on their menu. And this one I never

did try and I never seen on the menu. But apparently

they have it now or at some point. And that's

a Denny's fried cheese melt. And it's basically

a grilled cheese sandwich. with tons of cheese

and then they have mozzarella sticks also on

the inside. So it's like they line up a bunch

of mozzarella sticks on a sandwich and then they're

covered with American cheese. I feel like that's

going to taste like burning. It's like I just

imagine that the cheese is eviscerating your

mouth. And you know, next morning on the toilet,

it's just going to be pure liquid coming out.

Oh, man. Oh, that'll turn a few stomachs. Yes,

I have lactose intolerance. What do you recommend?

Oh, we've got this triple gazillion cheese dish

that we do here at Denny's. You guys remember

the Hooperito? Yeah, I remember you guys. I remember

the name. I don't think I've ever had it. I think

it was all you guys. I used to get that thing

all the time. It was my favorite thing at the

menu. I never had it either. That was the burger

with the egg on it? No, that's what I had. This

was like a was like a rap thing like kind of

like a burrito But it had like in the chicken

in it all this other stuff, but it was just really

good Highly recommends the the any burger with

an egg on it. They're very delicious I'm not

a big fan of the egg taste like I can do scrambled

eggs and then I put cheese on them Don't even

really notice it's there. It just kind of enhances

the beefiness of the burger I do like it when

beefiness is enhanced. Yes, so You know that

that that does come right down my alley All right,

uh, let's see. Maybe this will be the last one.

I don't know if you have any are you done Chuck?

Or do you have more? Um, I could probably throw

one or two more out there Okay, good. Well, let

me let me throw this one out there and then we

can It's called the closer. It's uh from the

Pittsburgh Pirates. So No one probably goes there,

so no one probably eats this. They've been decent

in the last few years, but it's a triple decker,

triple decker, grilled cheese with nine cheeses

and Canadian bacon, which just seems sacrilegious,

but whatever, Granny Smith apple slices and leek

compote for $14. You mean a leek compote? Yeah,

there you go. That's how you say it. Yes, I watch

the Food Network all the time. I'm not trusting

you Greg because the you pronounce the thing

wrong at the Mexican place every time Oh my god

Don't get me started on that The choripoyo Yeah

It's funny because you say it You say it like

one way one time and the guy corrects you so

you do it differently the next time and he still

corrects you Can't get that one freaking right

for the life of me It's that thing about Mexican

food. It's it's all kind of the same. So it's

there are different combinations or like, well,

yeah, cause that's basically disgusting when

you're eating it to Mexican food, but it's so

delicious. If he, if that was me, when he corrected,

I'd be like, does it really matter how you say

it? Everything in here has the same ingredients.

So I do like when they get, you know, the, the

choice switch ups of quesadillas. There's this

great quesadilla place in Baltimore that has

awesome, like, crab quesadilla. Is this the place

we go for Mexican all the time? No, it's a different

one. It's called Nacho Mama's in Inner Harbor.

It's a really small place. It's, like, and they

have alfases everywhere. That's, like, the thing.

There are tons of alfases. What is it? Yeah,

like, Nacho Mama's. No, the alfases thing that

you keep. L Elvis is like Elvis the singer. Yeah,

I don't know how to say I don't know the plural

of Elvis No one does Dan. No one does Yeah, there

will be only one the plural of Elvis is Elvira.

There you go several Elvira What's a flock of

Elvira called though? Is there a gander? I don't

know trying to think hound dogs Very cool. What

else got you? I have This is something similar

to what you were talking about before but um

it's from Pizza Hut and It's a pizza. It's a

stuffed crutch pizza, which we all know and love

but the crust is stuffed with a hot dog You know

you get your pizza you put whatever toppings

you want on your pizza whatever you can think

of and then the Crust just has a hot dog all

the way around through the crust. I Kind of want

to be in like that meeting room one that came

up with that. It's like How can we make pizza

better? Hot dog what other ridiculous things

could we stuff? Steak? Nah, that's not gonna

work. Corn dogs? Maybe. What about just regular

hot dogs? Let's go with the hummus stuffed crust

pizza. I love hummus, but no. Oh man, that is

funny. They should make a jalapeno popper crust

pizza. That actually would, you know, that's

legit. Thank you, thank you. Copyright Talking

in Circles, they have to give us, I don't know.

a percent of their profits from that. One percent

of that would probably be quite a bit. Yes. I

did. I did eat a pretty crazy burger at Red Robin

recently, and I can't totally remember the name

of it, but it was something like the ghost chili

burger or something. Ghost chilies. Yeah, it

had it had fresh. freshly sliced jalapenos on

it, with the seeds and all, so they were much

hotter than like, you know, the jalapenos. I

am growing jalapenos in the garden, by the way.

Oh, nice. That is awesome. And then it also had

a ghost pepper sauce on this burger, too, which

is like really fricking hot. So I'm eating this

thing and I'm like sweating out of my face. Like

my cheeks are sweating, my forehead sweating,

my scalp is sweating. Like, I don't know if you've

eaten something that hot where you could feel

your head sweating underneath your hair. I have

not, thankfully. You know it's hot when you get

that feeling. It's really strange. But it's very

good, but it's pretty spicy. It reminds me of

this time when I was at this thing called the

Beer, Bourbon, and Barbecue Fest in Baltimore.

And they have a lot of stuff, but they had like

a hot. sauce stand and there's all these different

flavors of hot sauce like in one was i don't

know the name of it but there was like zombie

apocalypse and then there was one hotter than

that like it was like you know some crazy name

like i think it was like death to all or something

i don't remember but uh because the the more

destruction the hotter the hot sauce i think

is the the way it goes but i try and i put some

on like a chip but i covered it and not thinking

and put it in my mouth and it was like it was

instant pain Face was just yeah pain and like

burning and I just heat and my are started watering

and the gonorrhea cells As that was happening

my wife was with me and she obviously didn't

do it but whenever friends like spotted her and

like went to go say hi She's trying to introduce

me and I have like my face is just like and all

sorts of pain and just Liquid coming out of it.

I'm trying to I'm just like I just want something

that's milk ish or water because I didn't have

anything with me It was it was just yeah, it

was really awkward. It's like I'm nice to meet

you. My face is on fire Hi, I'm the human torch.

Nice to meet you And then I bought the hot sauce

and I just used it for the first time the other

day when I got a nice amount Buffalo chicken

dip. Whenever you use it, you look around, make

sure no one's coming, so you don't have to talk

to anyone. Exactly. Though I also did buy some

jalapeno wine. Interesting. It's been chilling

in my fridge for the last six months. I have

had jalapeno pepper beer before. That's interesting.

Yeah, you have to have it with Mexican food though.

It wasn't that great by itself. It was kind of

disgusting. The I tried the wine at the because

of the wine fest and it you know, I'm also like

a whiskey in a way I had an interesting drink

wasn't a beer. I'm not as cool as you guys but

it was It was a soda and it was it was pumpkin

soda Why is everything every pumpkin anymore

when we you know, I don't know Like they need

something with pumpkin and bacon I was going

to say, pumpkin bacon, that's like when the welds

combine and throw cheese in there because that's

like the keto at all, and deep fry it. The pumpkin

soda is actually really good. I can't remember

the name of the company, but it was this really

small soda company out of Maine or something.

I ended up finding it out of Wegmans. But it's

really, really good. It just tastes like a liquid

version of pumpkin pie. So if you're a big pumpkin

pie fan, you would probably like it. I put a

lot of whipped cream on my pumpkin pie. I've

I really loved it like it's it's kind of expensive

but right around like Halloween time or October

or whatever I started finding it and it was really

really good. I Think I am actually getting quite

hungry so I might finish my dinner So anything

else before we take a break or before we bring

this episode to a close? I'm sure there's a lot

more crazy foods that I've seen out there, but

nothing's coming to mind right now Although I

could I don't not sure if I should share this

story before but um A few months ago, I went

on a trip for work out to Clearfield, Pennsylvania,

which is pretty much the middle of nowhere, but

it's, I don't know, maybe like half hour or an

hour away from state college or Penn State University

is, but they had this place there called Denny's

Beer Barrel Pub, and that's been on some Food

Network shows and stuff before, but they actually

claim the world's largest uh, hamburger challenge

and they, they have various sizes. Like it starts

at like two pounds and then it goes up to like

five and 10, 15 and 20 and all this stuff. And

they actually have a 125 pound burger. You have

to call three days in advance for them to make

it. Like you have to order it three days in advance

and they actually call a baker in this town to

specially make the bun How many billion dollars

is that friggin thing it's like well if you can

finish it it's free, but It's like I think it's

like three hundred and some dollars Exactly,

so it's like that's a decision. I would never

really what happens though is like it's usually

like a team that would order it or something,

like a football team might come in and order

it. And then like, you know, the whole team is

kind of picking at it or whatever. And which,

I mean, if you think about it, $300 for a whole

team really isn't that big of a deal. And then,

you know, like any sort of large group or something,

some people order it, I guess. But I just thought

that was interesting, like a burger that's like

the size of a large deer. I don't think I would

take up that challenge. At least, I think it

would be too dangerous for me. You've got a child

to think about, Dan. Whenever your food can crush

you, I think it's a little dangerous. Yes. I

don't think that would fit in my car, so I don't

think I'm going to want to eat it. I think I'm

going to take this burger bun and use it as a

blanket. You know, use it as a shelter for the

winter. but typically we end each episode with

a letter but I'm actually gonna end this episode

with a request to all of our listeners out there

and When I was thinking one of our first episodes

we got a letter from a fan He wrote this great

idea for the Punisher regarding well overall

and now it's kind of happening So what I'm thinking

kind of now that that It's occurring that we

would love to get more feedback from our fans

out there If they have emails or letters, they

would like this to read on on a podcast. We would

definitely do so There's there's ways that you

can do that You can email us at feedback at key

cast for you .com or probably the bass at the

talking in circles at live .com and Like if you've

listened to any of these episodes our letters

can be about anything and I feel like you know

We've we've we'll still do our letters here and

there but I think it'd be great opportunity to

kind of allow the fans to get more participation

and now that we're part of blocked blogtalkradio

.com as well and we're getting more listeners

on there and we're a writer. range of audiences.

We love to get your emails or get your feedback

so we can vary this up a little bit from week

in to week out. We love to hear what you have

to say and feel free to ask us questions or if

you just have something you want to give off

your chest and you want a huge audience to speak

it to and no one else will listen to your letter,

but we will because we don't have a huge audience.

We don't have a huge one. We don't do quantity.

We do quality. Exactly. That's what we care about.

Is that what that is yep And if you want to if

Amelia Clarke wants to get anything off her chest,

I'd be certainly glad to listen I'm sure she

has tons to do. So after after the last episode

of Game of Thrones Which man Game of Thrones

man, you know to play with my heart. You really

really do Are you still watching? man you know

you just you start liking a character and then

you know you gotta go off and don't get attached

to anyone that's what i'm saying it hurts it

hurts deeply but i already gave out our email

addresses but you can also contact us on facebook

and twitter just search talking in circles gcrn

and you guys are also on twitter what are your

twitter names i am at heroic age chuck and i

am at the create forge That'll be it for this

week. We'll be back next week, same time, same

channel, same podcast feed, but for now, this

has been Chuck. This has been Greg, or The Rock.

I'm talking robots. This has been Dan, and we've

been talking in circles. We'll see you next week.

It's kind of weird that The Rock is playing the

dad of Alexander D 'Addario. It's Samoan, right?
