joining me on this adventure into the Transformers

be waiting. No, no. There is no waiting. We are

no longer waiting for anything. So, so yeah.

This is episode 426 and we are running down the

news and we're also gonna do like what we picked

up with toys or what we got in toys, that kind

of thing. I haven't picked up a lot of things

but somebody sent me a... Transformers action

figure gift in the mail, which I was absolutely

shocked and astounded and absolutely appreciative

of. So thank you so much, Alex. We'll get to

that in a little bit. But the news first up is

Pete Davidson and Michelle Yo confirmed as voices

for a Transformers rise of the beasts. I don't

know how I feel about that to be honest. I don't

know what care so So I I don't care about Michelle

yo cuz she's just like big because she's been

in like Star Trek discovery forever Among other

things but Pete Davidson He's such a hack Yeah,

he's such a hack. He's from SNL. He's not even

funny. Yeah never has been he thinks he's funny

he gets into a lot of controversial stuff and

that's why he has a name yeah he's not known

for anything decent and he's a crappy actor i

will i'm not gonna he's playing mirage and michelle

yo is playing air razor which okay whoopty -doo

for a razor but okay but i i gotta say though

i'm fine with it that's what i'm getting at but

like i'm saying that i i But I don't mind her,

the Pete Davidson thing. Yeah. Okay. So you don't

mind her, but the Pete Davidson thing, and I

agree with you. Absolutely. Mirage should have

a better voice actor than that. Michelle Yeoh

has been in, she hasn't just been popular recently.

She's been popular for decades. At least the

last 30 years, because when I first saw her,

she was in Tomorrow Never Dies with Pierce Brosnan

in 1997. She was in one of the two films my buddy

Tom DJ and I covered earlier on this podcast

I believe it was yeah no she was in the powder

milkshake that's right which is a netflix film

it's another one of those like six hundred and

it's not gonna get it's supposedly was supposed

to get a sequel but I don't think it is but she's

a great actress she's she's a wonderful actress

and she does really really good work and seeing

is how they weren't going to get. I don't even...

Who did the voice of Eraser originally? I don't

even remember. If they couldn't have got the

original voice actress, I would have liked somebody

like... The only person I can think of is Sumo

Lee Montano who voiced RC in Transformers Prime.

But yeah, no, I mean, this is another one of

those, you know, it's a casting, which I think

it's great that they're, you know, that they're

casting stuff and whatever. That's awesome. That's

fun. Like you said, Pete Davidson, whatever.

But, you know, Pauline Newstone was her... Voice

actor in Beast Wars alright up next we have the

fact that TF con LA is going to be in Burbank

Airport Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport

in March of next year Apparently This year's

convention in LA had over 50 guests from various

Transformers media. You won't want to miss TF

con LA 2023 I love how they're saying, I don't

know if it's whomever wrote this for Super Megatron,

for TFW2005 .com, in bold letters, America's

ultimate Transformers fan experience returns

to Los Angeles, the ultimate Transformers fan

experience, which TFCon kind of really is now,

seeing as how there is no BotCon anymore. Well,

there is BotCon, but... There there really isn't.

I mean, let's face it, there isn't. So, yeah,

TFCon LA is going to be in March of next year.

I know you're you don't usually do figurines,

but I wanted to bring this one up for you and

me specifically because I kind of I've been loving

the Jetta Toys metal figs that they've been doing,

but they have announced a G1MB stores for pack

to go along with the. the new stuff coming out

with the movie. We have Bumblebee, Optimus, Optimus

Primal, and G1 Megatron. So G1 Optimus and G1...

Wait a minute. Hold on. If you're gonna have

two of the... Well, technically we have three

good guys and one bad guy. Eh, I guess. But,

like, why wasn't Beast Wars Megatron? Like, two

G1 heroes and... Beast Wars hero and villain

like why wasn't Beast Wars Megatron done in this

style. I Don't know and I think it's kind of

neat but Not something I would pick up If they

had Beast Wars Megatron, that would be different.

Yeah, but And like say the prime the prime primal

Megatron Megatron. Okay. Yep, but Yeah, it's

kind of I don't really care because of that.

Yeah, and see initially I had thought that like

I hadn't I kind of just glanced over I just saw

I glanced over the image at first when I was

first grabbing the story and All as I saw was

jada toys metal figs transformers g1 and beast

wars and I saw optimus I saw the two optimize

and I was like, okay, and then I saw some yellow

fart I didn't really realize the gray guy in

the room at first. So but yeah Very cool. Alright,

what do we got next on the agenda? Oh yes, my

favorite. Transformers MDLX Cliffjumper by 3Zero.

We have official pictures and details. 3Zero

have shared a full gallery and I love the way

this thing looks. I actually went on to, and

thankfully this isn't coming until like March

of next year for BBTS, but I went over to BBTS

and I pre -ordered this thing. I know technically

it's just a repaint of the Bumblebee MDLX mold,

but that's what Cliffjumper has always been.

For the most part. I mean, he has his own unique

head and things like that, but yeah. I dig it.

I think this is super cool. I love this. I've

got Megatron dead center in my viewfinder. So

fun. Yes. Yep. So did you see the the retro Transformers

the movie hot rod? Yes, I did. Do we really need

to talk about pink hot rod? Really? He's magenta.

Damn it Yeah, well, I mean I like the fact that

they they colored in better than the original

toy right and Despite not, you know having the

stickers or whatever, but I don't I don't get

the love For these retro toys that are rereleases

that the original like I mean I get it if you've

loved the original For accessibility purposes,

but a lot of times they change them, they alter

aspects of it, and then if you're kind of a person

who likes them to actually look like their animation

model, then these are just, yeah. And I get it

if you're if you're one that just loves the original

has to have it great, but I Never see these things

move. I mean, I think it's cool that they are

going with a more Animation based color scheme

on them and that they are the original look folks

I mean, well, I like the original hot rod and

target master hot rod version as a kid. I wanted

cartoon accuracy and the problem with Hot Rod

and Rodimus Prime specifically is up until Shout

Factory found color corrected whatever stills

or whatever things that they've been doing with

the movies to fix the color on Hot Rod and make

him what he's supposed to be. He's not red. He's

not pink. He's magenta. There's a difference.

But I think this is cool for those of us who

had the actual toy as a kid, the original one.

but now we could just have it as animation supposed

accuracy. And the animation accuracy for me comes

more into play with the Starscream than it does

with the Hot Rod. If you dispose of me, there

will always be someone waiting to dispose of

you. Let them try! I've waited for this moment

a long time, Megatron, and my time is now! Yeah,

and I saw that too. I just, for whatever reason,

I don't... I mean, I had the original, so I don't...

but I don't... Yeah. The original was a little

bit more gray. It wasn't as white as it is in

the show. And I think that's what they're doing

here with the new version is they're making it

more, like I said, animated accurate. So that's

what it is. Did you see or hear about the fact

that Hasbro Pulse has just taken to their Twitter?

to announce that a premium fan stream will be

taking place on Thursday, October 27th at 5 p

.m. Eastern. They promise to have reveals, giveaways,

and pre -orders. Yeah, I don't care. Why would...

Plus, you get to pay for it. This is getting

expensive! Like, for the accessibility? When's

the last time we had a... Trance like fan first

Friday or whatever it was for true It was like

it was like two weeks ago when we did that other

news episode when they had all the reveals with

the When we were talking about the poster it

was basically the last news episode two weeks

ago So two weeks ago they have something in between

that time and now we've had New York Comic Con

They did not do a damn thing at New York Comic

Con and now they're gonna come back and say oh

for Hasbro pulse premium people for people who

are actually going to pay to watch us reveal

stuff and I know. You know, it's funny. I'm going

to wait until after all the news reveals it and

I'm going to see it for free. Well, yeah, that's

the thing. Like, do they not realize that they

might as well just do a fan first Friday or whatever

kind of thing where everyone can see it for free

before we then go to TFW 2005 or the AllSpark

or wherever we end up going to get the news.

Like, hello. What? And I'm only going to call

her out simply because she is part of the franchise.

What the hell is Isabella thinking or whoever

the hell made the decision to make this a Hasbro

Pulse premium member stream only? That was a

dumb decision. Yep, I agree. I would not pay

to watch a live stream. Of toy reveals? No, hell

no. Not at all. And then, wah, wah, wah, Transformers

Forge to Fight is shutting down in 2023. And

it was a pretty lousy game, to be honest. It

reminded me of the Mega Man Battle Network that

came out, like, way in the early 2000s. Yes.

Just really crappy graphics, really crappy gameplay.

I just, I didn't, I could never get into it.

I wanted all the Beast Wars characters, but at

the same time I couldn't bring myself to... Pay

for any of it. Yeah Because it just wasn't my

cup of tea Absolutely, I have never paid attention

to this game other than like if you've given

me news articles of this character is joining

or that character is joining or they're doing

some sort of special event thing or or Something

like that. I have never cared about this game.

So it doesn't affect me one way or the other

Well, on the bright side, Earth Wars is still

doing good. And I was an early adopter. Yeah,

you were. I was going to say they still have

Earth Wars going. Wow. I'm surprised that wasn't

also announced to be shutting down. Well, to

be fair, that one is very fun. No, I... Yeah,

I mean... Because you build a base and I finally...

It's taken me a year because I won't spend money.

Yep. Yep. It's taken me a year to upgrade my

base to level 16. I've been on level 15 forever.

And you have to a certain level and it just took

me forever to hit it. And I love it because you

can do combiners, you can do a lot of the Beast

Wars cast. Like for instance, I have Dinobot,

Transmetal Dinobot. Rattrap, Airazor, Tigerhawk,

Optimal Optimus, Transmetal 2, Megatron, Beast

Megatron, Beast Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Tarantulas,

Blackarachnia, Waspinator. I've got most of the

beasts that are in it. It's been entertaining.

It reminds me of a Command and Conquer in a sense.

So I enjoy it for that because you're building

up a base. You're having to defend it. You're

having to fight You know, you have resources

you get to power up these these bots and each

ones has has their skills and I've just enjoyed

it Over the last couple years. Yeah You know,

absolutely been playing it since 2016 Wow That's

a long time Up next, we get a closer look at

Transformers Earthspark toys at Sydney Oz Comic

-Con. So we got a look at Earthspark Bumblebee

size comparison, the Earthspark Deluxe Twitch,

Earthspark Taction's Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

These are small toys with a one -step transformation

that you can attach to your fingers. Oh, I can't

wait to talk about that. Oh boy. And then Earth

Spark, Warrior, Optimus Prime, and Alita 1. So

let's start with the Bumblebee comparison. I'm

digging this. This is fun. I'm not going to get

any of these toys, but for where I see them targeting

Transformers Earth Spark, because it is the first

Nickelodeon animated series, it is much to do

with the family and the humans, as well as the

Transformers, as far as we know. But it's very

family -oriented kind of thing, so I think they're

trying to regain the aspect of the family mold

and things like that. I don't love the color

change on the two, like from the largest one

to the smallest one. You got two like orange

bumblebees and then two bright yellow bumblebees

in the two smallest ones. That's the only thing

I don't like is the complete differing of colors

on the paint. For B and the the one earth spark

one the the The the standard deluxe size. Yeah

Looks the best out of the three. Yeah I'm not

a fan of These giant bricks of a transformer

or these little bitty tiny ones like the two

middle ones to me look the most balanced. Yeah,

they do and Like my kids even look at it and

they're like that's a cheap one And they look

at some of the little tiny ones that just look

like crap. And then these tall, these big ones,

they already know that those are just junk. Yeah.

It's just a big chunk of plastic. Yeah. And the

funny thing is when I first looked at this, when

I first looked at these images, I saw the giant

bee and I was like, oh, it's not, I thought that

was like another version of the Ark. He's he's

not as big as the arc but the way that they the

way he's designed in robot mode When I first

saw him, I thought it was another version of

the arc and then I looked at it again I was like,

oh, that's a big bumblebee. That's too big of

a bumblebee. I'll take the I'll take the I'll

take basically the the other orange one the ones

sides class down from the big one we got twitch

here twitch looks cool in toy form. Again, it's

not I want to watch the show. We're going to

cover the show eventually, but I don't think

I'll be getting any of these toys, no matter

what they do. The only way I'd get one is if

it came out with a Beast Wars Megatron. Otherwise,

I don't care. Yeah. And those one step changes,

those are essentially preschool toys to me in

my personal opinion. But that's just me. Shoot,

if anybody can break them, my kids can. That's

true. They're too hard to transform. It's one

step. I'm joking. I know They do the more complicated

ones. My my oldest has depth charge Yeah, and

I had to teach him how to do it. He's like, how

do you know how to do this? I'm like from memory

child. Yes. Yes And the one thing I don't I I

took a screen it's my phones in the other room

So I can't actually look at the piss. So I don't

know if it was the Hasbro thing I saw I saw them

doing something with Maybe it was a how I don't

know They have these things now like like I said,

you know these these one -step things or these

little things They can put on your fingers and

you can roll them around and I'm like really

like I have a screen off to send this to you

later off air But I have a screenshot of something

with some kid, you know with two toys attached

to his ring it to his index and middle finger

and he's like moving his hand across the thing

and I'm like this is what's wrong it's just so

wrong and not in a wrong way it just looks incorrect

to be playing with a toy like but I don't get

it yeah the one thing I wanted to the other reason

why I wanted to comment on this is what do you

think and I sent you this picture earlier What

do you think of the Autobot symbol here? I don't

know what to think, to be honest. Yeah, it's

weird. I don't like this new weird emblem. I

don't I don't know what about it bothers me.

It just looks really strange, like they're owned

by somebody else. Yeah. And I mean, technically

as far as well, no, they aren't. Because that's

the interesting thing, because we also have a

trailer for this new footage or new stuff and

whatever else, because they showed that off too,

and they're like, oh, Megatron's ugly. You always

knew how to make an entrance, Meg. My strategy

was always intimidation. Wasn't Megatron a bad

guy? Not anymore. Traitor. Resist. It's my favorite

part. Transformers Earthspar. Stream the new

series with your family this fall. I can never

tell if he means me. Exclusively on Paramount+.

You always had us going, Megs. He's a good guy

now, so really the villain in the show is going

to be the other human, the other Dr. Arkeville

type, even though it's not Dr. Arkeville, it's

all... He actually has a toy package here somewhere

in one of these images. What's that character's

name? Jesus. You think I'd remember? I'm too

old for this shit. Dr. Meridian Mandroid. Dr.

Mandroid. So Dr. Mandroid is a humanoid looking

character. He's got weird red eyeglasses on with

uh, transformer arm for a right arm. Like he

basically had, and this is not B source, but

I'm going to say, oh no, I'll use astrotrain.

So I don't offend you. He's got an astrotrain

for a right arm and a bumblebee for a left. It's

a gray and purple right arm and a yellow and

black left arm. And he's got these things attached

to his neck and chest. So basically the human

is going to be the villain. Like Megatron is

not going to be the villain. Megatron's Autobot

Megatron in this apparently. I'm still willing

to check out the show. I still don't give two

craps about these toys. Yeah, I'll check out

the show. I'm not working my way towards the

toys at all. I'll check it out, but I have no

high ambition as far as it's concerned. I do

like the animation style much better than some

of the other shows that have come out in recent

years. Don't I hear I still don't like primes

face Without the faceplate. Yep, and even then

his head kind of looks goofy. Where's Megatron

something looks off with him, too, but it's not

blatantly obvious Yeah, let me I'm trying to

see yeah primes face without the faceplate just

looks weird It really really does Megatron I'm

looking at the up close of his face and. I don't

see there's anything wrong with it. I'm looking

at his actual like the further away shot. I think

his head is too tiny for his body. I think that's

his problem. Yeah, but I mean, and then the symbol

just looks off to me. Well, yeah, the symbol

looks looks whack and see that's weird because

OK. Megatron. for the Autobot symbol has that

weird one. So, you know, when, if, if you're

on the, the, the trailer page and they have the

screenshots below the trailer where they're like,

he's like terror in the skies and he's got this

one, you click over like, like two other shots,

like three other images when they're like, wasn't

Megatron a bad guy? And Bumblebee's like, not

anymore. Bumblebee clear his day, clean Autobot

symbol, original regular Autobot symbol we've

had for 40 fucking years. But apparently Megatron

has to be all bougie and have this really, really

weird Autobot symbol on him. I don't get it.

The toys aren't for us, folks. They might be

for you or for your kids. That's fine, but we

will most definitely be checking out Transformers

Earth Spark when it premieres in November. Yep,

yep, yep. I do love about this this new footage

trailer. I love the sound wave look and I love

what's in. How about a little Decepticon Autobot

Tango? That's that's funny. Absolutely funny.

only other thing is what have you picked up recently

for Transformers stuff? Have you bought anything

or no? Aside from Tarantulas and J -Axis, Okay

Not really. Did you talk about those last time?

I don't remember if you did or not. I don't think

so I I've enjoyed Tarantulas quite a bit Just

because he's not only does he show accurate right

but Just I don't know just looks really Well

done And then J -axis is just fun in general.

Well, yeah, yeah for me I have not picked up

anything recently at all except like I said out

of the clear blank Didn't know this was gonna

happen. But one of our listeners one of our I

guess new listeners I don't know how much he's

listened, but Alex Alex. I'm just gonna say your

last name, dude. Sorry. It's out there You're

me a Patriot Prime affiliate link to get Kingdom

Rodimus for like 15 bucks. And I was like, yeah,

I wish I could do that right now. I'll have to

get that later. I can't get that at this moment.

He's like, what if I just send it to you? And

I'm like, okay, thanks. I never look any gifts

and you don't ever look a gift horse in the mouth.

I mean, like, come on. Like I'm always appreciative

of anything any listener wants to do for me is

what I told him. And yeah, he, like, literally

the... I believe it's Toycast 15916. It's one

of the upcoming Toycasts, literally. You will

hear me if it's not already out, which as of

this recording it isn't. But you will hear me,

like, basically freak out. Because, so he sent

that to me. He's like, oh, okay, cool. You know.

He got that for me and sent it to me. I figured,

oh, it's Amazon. It's going to be a couple days,

maybe a week. In the middle of recording a toy

cast with Josh the floor burger, he's like, yeah,

so I have a picture of it being delivered. He

got free rush delivery. He asked me like 10 o

'clock in the morning and by eight PM I had the

damn thing. Wow. Yeah. So Alex, you rock, dude,

but. Like I've been saying on this show before,

the original Rodimus Prime toy from the 80s is

what I had as a kid and is the one I always played

with. And I've said since Kingdom Rodimus came

out, it is basically an updated modern version

of that toy. And I said I would always love to

have it at some point or another. Well, now I

have it. Except for the fact that I am... forty

two and a half forty two and seven eight almost

forty three years old. I don't remember how to

transform transformers. Well, that's why they

invented instructions. Yes. Yes. Yes. I know

that and I did look at the instructions I watched

several I watched Patriot primes review I've

watched Rodimus primals review of the damn thing

and poor Rodimus looks like he's on ratchets

Midbay cuz I've got his legs done. I've got his

head I've got his it's just all the back pieces

in his arms, but he looks like a Frankenstein

robot the trailer trailer is no problem trailer

You just open and close that's easy, but the

robot itself. It's yeah the only The only actual

physical part of my Kingdom Rotomus that is currently

transformed into robot mode is his legs and his

torso. So I'll get it eventually. But thank you

again so much, Alex. It was complete and utter

shock and surprise. And as I said, you folks

will hear that in the Toycast episode because

it was basically like a live toy reveal, which

I do not do those kinds of things on that show.

So. Well, yeah, if somebody ever wanted to gift

me a Transmetal 2 Megatron They haven't made

a Transmetal 2 Megatron yet. Yeah, they have

Oh, yes. Yes. Yes Excellent. Yes because you

know like why I did have the the gargantuan one,

but yeah Who's got room for that? Yeah Plus,

I plan on repainting the whole thing. I want

to turn it into a project where it looks like

the show when I get done with it. That's all

things Transformers at this point, folks, I think.

I don't think there's anything else we missed

that we need to talk about. I don't think so.

Yeah, ten days from now is when that that that

stream happens on the 27th of October. So we'll

probably Be back with a news episode before Thanksgiving

and just catch everybody up on you know, the

actual stuff that was revealed that we Weren't

gonna pay us see reveals Well, the thing is I'm

gonna be on I know Transformers forums and discord

channels and I'm gonna see it all and hear it

all anyway live as it happens Yeah, no, I know

so I just Yeah. What's the point? Plus, I don't

care to hear the commentary. I really dislike

hearing all these people sitting here, unless

it's the guy explaining the toy. I don't like

the typical person that's just like, well, blah,

blah, blah. Let's pass it on to so -and -so.

Let's discuss this. Blah, blah, blah. The moderator,

I don't like moderators in general on any of

the programming, so I just - Oh, feedback's cool.

He's cool. I like him. I'm saying in general.

When you get the marketing folk that are in there,

that's when I get drove nuts. It's not necessarily

the people that actually know what they're talking

about. It's like, please leave the other caller

off the call. Leave the ones that know what they're

talking about. Well, you got to have a host for

certain things. I'm sorry, Hasbro. That's not

cool. In the end, it's not going to matter. What

are you going to gain from charging people? To

watch a fan stream seriously, that's ridiculous
