About this Episode

TFG1Mike and Steve Megatron revisit the 2009 Stephen Summers-directed G.I. Joe film for the first time on the network. They discuss the cast, character origins, action sequences, special effects, and how the film compares to the cartoon and later Retaliation. Both agree the Joe side of things is well done, but the Cobra organization's portrayal—especially Cobra Commander's mask—falls short, and excessive CGI effects feel more Transformers than G.I. Joe.

This is Jason Marsden, voice of Duke from G .I.

Joe Renegades. You are listening to the GeekCast

Radio Network. Hey, it's Mistress Carrie, and

you are listening to Studio 2009. There's nothing

wrong with your podcast player. Do not attempt

to adjust the volume. Welcome back into our studio.

You are now inside Studio 2009, only on the GeekCast

Radio Network. I'm of course, TF2O and Mike and

joining me once again is Steve Megatron. Hi Steve,

how are you? I'm Megatron. Yeah, you're definitely

Megatron. You're definitely def - Definitely,

definitely Megatron. We ain't Rain Man here.

Definitely Megatron. Definitely Megatron. Definitely

Megatron. Well, technically sometimes I can be

Rain Man -ish because we are heading back to

2009 to revisit the Stephen Summers directed

G .I. Joe, The Rise of Cobra. A film we have

never covered on this network on the guest or

we've never. Like we've never covered it on any

of the podcasts it was never surprised yeah it

was never i think we've talked about it in passing

i think we've all avoided it. I don't remember.

Like I'm pretty sure cinema geeks has never covered

it. We never did an episode of it on M wire because

I just searched the rise of Cobra on our website.

And the only things that pop up are my written

review, DVD review, GI Joe, the rise of Cobra

from, uh, October. 12th of 2011 which was two

years after the film came out and Then after

that it's if the back button will go faster anyway

Yeah after that it's Our movies marketing more

to nostalgia than new audiences which was written

by Somebody named David Michaels this year Uh,

there was an ultimate guide to the cartoons in

the 1980s. It's that optimus solo does shout

factory TV merge. Uh, I know, uh, optimus solo

had listed one of the scenes from one from retaliation,

which we will talk about the second film in the

next episode of the podcast. And I know, um,

the common concierge, Dan Clark had. gave an

honorable mention to retaliation in one of his

posts at one point or another. But yeah, we've

never like we've covered resolute. That was GCR.

That was one of the early episodes of GCR. We've

covered some other GI Joe stuff. I've covered

a bunch of GI Joe comics over on the pull bag.

And things like that. And over on another comic

review, which is, uh, matrix prime AK, uh, Jesse

early's podcast. We cover all the GI Joe comics

that the inner John universe over at skybound

entertainment is doing. We've been doing that

for almost two and a half. Uh, well, almost the

two full years of, of that podcast that we've

been doing that. And I know, like I said, I have

this film review that I wrote up. for us, but

we've never actually done a full on podcast episode

for the rise of Cobra. And I never saw retaliation.

I saw the trailer to the, the, the sequel that

came out in 2013. So this time around, uh, next

time, next episode for studio 2009, uh, when

I watched GI Joe retaliation, first time I had

ever seen it, I had never, I completely in 2013,

I completely just said, nah, not. Don't care

about a second GI Joe movie at the time in 2013.

So that's my history with the film. What about

you? I remember being excited for this when it

came out. Yep. And then promptly not after watching

it. And I don't say it to be mean. Cause like

I do, I do like aspects of this movie. I do like

a lot of the casting. I do like a lot of the

characters they bring in. I don't. Particularly

love what they did with the Cobra organization

yeah or the origins or. You know how they got

you know Cobra commander Destro and Baroness

and then mindbender like I didn't even realize

mindbender was in it until I rewatched it. Like

it was that like I assumed that mindbender was

Cobra commander. You don't like he was he was

rex and then it became you know mindbender. And

then he became Cobra Commander by the end, but

it was actually like kind of two separate people.

And then I hated, I hated the appearance of Cobra

Commander in this one compared to what they did

later. And I don't know, there was too much like,

it felt too much like the Transformers stuff

where they tried to jam way too much in it. And

that was what I remembered seeing of it. Like

the Exosuits and a lot of the the Nanites and

a lot of the, you know, just a lot of the other

stuff. I understood where it was kind of coming

from, but it felt like a G .I. Joe movie mixed

with Transformers mixed with Terminator. Right.

Yeah. But but that was kind of my initial impression

of it upon watching it. Like I have a different

opinion of it now that I've rewatched it. Yeah.

Well, the thing is, when I watched it, like,

like I said, I was going through my old review

and I just pulled out this little snippet. And

I wrote down here because when's the last time

we saw this film last time I saw it was 14 years

ago And what I wrote in the review was I did

not see this film in the in the theater Literally

the review was written two years after it was

in theaters. I didn't even with the DVD release

I had been against the whole thing completely,

completely refused to even purchase a rental

from red box at the time. I don't even know if

McDonald's has red boxes outside the restaurants

anymore, but at the time I had a free red box

rental code and I'm like, Oh, okay. Sure. Fine.

If as long as it's free, I'll do it. I'll walk

over to McDonald's at the time, wherever I was

living back in 2012 or whenever, or 2011. I'll

go walk over to the red box and I'll grab a free

DVD rental out of it. And that just shows you

14 years ago to now. Like today we watched it

or I watched it on paramount plus and you know,

compared to 14 years ago where I went and actually

had to go get it out of a red box and actually

get a physical copy of it. And don't get me.

Don't misunderstand me folks. I love physical

media. I really do. I will always say physical

media matters but the having the convenience

of being able to go on a streaming service and

find a movie and just watch it to watch it to

be able to do the podcast is so much more convenient

at times. You know so that's that's where i was

coming from as far as like the last time i watch

the funny thing is what i remember watching it

last time compared to this time is i had no problem

with the action. The action, the pacing of the

movie with the action never bothered me. The

story is what bothered me a little bit back then.

It was like, Oh my God, really? This is what

you're doing. And it didn't even really feel

like an episode of the cartoon. It did this time

around. And that's not even because I've watched

episodes of the GIGO real American hero cartoon

recently or not. I have not, but this time around,

it felt like an episode of the cartoon. Last

time it didn't. It just felt like I've been saying

lately on the podcast and maybe in the future,

I'll say this. It felt like you could plug anything

into this. That's not what this is. This didn't

feel like you could plug anything into this,

but this the, the way that the, that the story

and the pacing of the action was, it felt very

to the point of, Oh, this is what we're doing

with this. And this is really, really interesting

and whatever. What was the number one thing you

remembered catching up with this, this time?

The thing that I remember was the cast and Cobra

commander's mask. Yep. I, I totally kind of blanked

on the plot. Like I remember, you know, they

destroy the Eiffel tower, but otherwise, like

I kind of forgot. I didn't even remember that

running Frazier was in this as a trainer. And

I remember, you know, general Hawk and, and Scarlet

and Duke, but then, and then snake eyes, but

then a lot of the Joe's I just kind of was for

God. Yeah. Uh, and then, and then, uh, you know,

the, the Cobra side of things, you know, Zartan

was kind of neat how they reinvented him. Baroness

looked pretty close Destro. I wasn't a fan of

what they did to him later or, and I wasn't a

fan of Cobra commander throughout the entirety

of this film. Yeah. So yeah, those, I mean, those

were the main things like that, that stuck out

to me. Were you a fan of G .I. Joe? Like what's

the level of your G .I. Joe fandom leading into

this, going into this movie? So before this I'd

watched the original G .I. Joe cartoon, I'd watched

the Deek series, I'd watched... I don't know

if this came out around the time of Renegades?

Well this came out in 2009, so Renegades was

around that time I think, let me check. Want

to say it came out around this time and The Renegades

kind of fits with the retaliation yeah aspect

a little bit more like it kind of feels like

it's a natural in between of one and two Yep,

in a sense like even though they're totally unrelated

and then we had the other GI Joe like a GI Joe

extreme, which was 100 % unrelated and then Even

though they pulled Lieutenant Stone for Brendan

Frazier's role. Yep. From that. And then there

was, what was it? Renegades? Resolute. Renegades

ran from 2010 to 2011. Okay. And then Resolute

was good too. Yeah, Resolute was good. For those

five minute episodes of time. It was really good.

Yeah. And then we really haven't had anything.

in the physical like media of video games or

cartoons or movies and I know they keep talking

about bringing them back and I know that there's

there was a like a third film that it was basically

just snake eyes yeah and the ninjas and I was

kind of tuned out by then because I'm like I

really want to watch it for the GI Joe's like

not just snake eyes even though the comics took

a pretty big Turn in heavily focused on snake

eyes back in the day yeah yeah the last film

was snake eyes georgia origins in july of twenty

twenty one and zero interest in that but i mean

i will go back and rewatch just for the sake

of rewatching even though they kind of told his

origins in. Yeah this first film. was directed

by Stephen Summers, a name I did not recognize.

So really quickly, just looking at his filmography,

he directed Catch Me If You Can from 1989. So

this was the... So this is not the Tom Hanks

version in 2002. He was a writer on The Scorpion

King. He directed Van Helsing. Uh, the last thing

he directed was odd Thomas. He's still, still

with us. I've, I usually when I see the last

thing people directed and it's, you know, X number

of years ago, I think, Oh, no, he's still with

us. Did the jungle book in 1994. Yeah. Outside

of GI Joe rise of Cobra. I, he did the mummy

and the mummy returns. There's that. I was never

a fan of the Mummy movies. Just wasn't a fan.

Yeah, I was, but that explains Brendan Fraser

and explains Zartan, who played the Mummy. Yep.

It explains The Scorpion King, which was The

Rock. Well, the funny thing is, is that when

we get to the next episode of the podcast, when

we get to retaliation. Even summers doesn't even

return that movie was directed by John M Chu

And what's funny is I like the second one better.

Yeah, and a lot of regards there were certain

Yeah, thanks. I didn't yeah, so as I went through

this movie and I was taking my notes So the beginning

of the film with with the clan McCullough and

Destro and I'm like, holy crap it's just The

1998 Leonardo DiCaprio film, the man in the iron

mask, which is just another version of the three

musketeers. It's King Louis the 13th or the 14th

or whatever. And I'm like, really? Seriously?

Okay. Sure. Huh. Another one of my notes includes,

it might just be the passage of time here, but

damn, I kind of like this film 13 minutes in.

Cause I had just got, they had just gotten to

the desert scene where Duke gets to see where

Hawk is. And it always had, the film always had

great action. It was just the story that was

always lacking the action scenes and all of the,

the, the mixture between the, the actual stunts

and the, and the CGI was always really good.

I love, uh, that, uh, general Hawk who was played

by Dennis Quaid. He says the line knowing his

half the battle. I was waiting for somebody else

to say the other half is red laser, blue laser.

Luckily rip. I mean, they did have blue laser.

Yeah, they did. Luckily, luckily ripcord does

not say that. And, uh, so I was, I was live tweeting

live posting this as I was watching these movies

folks. And one of my notes is. Does Ray Park

ever play any roles where he actually gets to

actually talk and you? Really well, yeah, no,

he does. I'm not saying he doesn't like I like

him as snake eyes. He does really really well

Absolutely, he does and you had replied with

toad from x -men and I barely remember that he

did talk in that It's just like though every

time I hear his name. I'm like, oh, yeah the

silent actor guy Ray Park, absolutely. I think

he talked instead one line in Phantom Menace

too. Yep, yep. Scarlet versus Baroness, Snake

Eyes versus Storm Shadow, I like both of those

scenes. I just like Scarlet in general. Well,

yeah, absolutely. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow,

I think I like their origin being told in this

movie more than the other one. We'll get to the

other one later, but I think I like it in this

one better. I thought that was cool. Oh, no,

not the Eiffel Tower. Heaven forbid. But that

was supposed to be irony from the the clan McCalla.

Like, yeah. Oh, no, I don't. You you embarrassed

my family. I'm going to destroy your entire lineage.

Yep. I can't believe Storm Shadow hit ripcord

in the face with a pot of spaghetti sauce. And

later Duke asks, or is either Duke or Scarlet

ask, is that blood? No, it's spaghetti sauce.

I'm like, oh my God, you guys. Yeah, it was Scarlet

asked him that. Yeah. Yeah. The under like I'm

a huge fan of underwater battles. You can blame

James Bond for that. I think it's it's either

I think it's Thunderball that does that. But

under the underwater battle scene in this under

the polar ice cap. Oh, man. That whole thing

is just so good. I absolutely love that. Surprise,

surprise. Rex is alive. And guess what? They

turned him into Cobra Commander. That mask is

horrible. Oh, and it doesn't get better throughout

the movie. No, it doesn't. Like, they don't even

improve on it. They don't even try to improve

on it. And I'm like, what the hell is wrong with

you people? And then Scarlet. I love Scarlet.

RIP CARD! Didn't I ask you not to yell at me?

He's gonna blow the ice cap, oh no! Everyone

goes to jail, the good guys win. Yay, but Zartan

ends up in the White House anyway. They saved

on budget in the second film because they cut

everybody that was a big -name actor from the

first one and replaced them with just a couple

of big -name actors for the second. Yeah, I miss...

Baroness I miss scarlet I like to date and we

will get to this next episode when we talk about

the cast for the for the second film I don't

know like You say that but then you have the

rock and I think the rock took up most of the

budget for getting everybody else As did Bruce

Willis. Well, yeah, and then you had the same

actors playing the storm shadow and snake eyes

Were they the same? Yes Same actors. And then,

um, the president was the same actor. Yeah, I

knew that. Yeah. I knew the president was the

same actor. I love that guy. He's so cool. And

then, yeah, then you got Duke in there too. Yeah,

but Duke doesn't last too long though. No, I

was, I think I was more mad about that. I was

like, okay, you just pulled an eight, you know,

the, the 1980s all over again. Thanks. See, I

thought they were going to do that. I thought

they were gonna, and I was like, wait, But he's

not in a hospital somewhere in a coma. See, I

always wondered if they would have done a third

film. Yeah, it would have been, you know, miraculously

alive. Yeah. Oh, God. But this this first film.

You know, I gotta say, it's not like we've been

talking about this a lot on the podcast lately

and we'll talk about it on in the future. Certain

films that we know that we can watch over and

over and over again. I haven't seen this film

in 14 years. This is not a film I will put on

even for background noise, but going back and

revisiting this film, I just have. An appreciation

for what this tried to do, even though it didn't

succeed or superiorly fail in either direction.

It's a very middle ground GI Joe film. I think

they relied way too heavily on some of those

gun effects on some of the Nanite effects. Oh

God. Can you imagine if they had the. technology

of, is it in five or six? The Bay Nanites, the,

the, the Transformium. Oh God. Oh, number five.

Yeah, no. Cause that's what it reminded me of.

It was like, Hey, this is early days of Transformium.

Even though it was not Transformium, but some

of the, some of the stuff in, in, in this first

movie, I'm like, Oh, interesting. But yeah, what

were your breakdown? What were your notes when

you were watching this one? So Juan, I loved

the introduction of the G .I. Joe. I kind of

was lost and I forgotten that Duke and Ripcord

were not G .I. Joe members at the time. So I

enjoyed the fact that we got General Hawk and

we had Dennis Quaid and Cover Girl. And then

I cannot remember anyone else outside of Snake

Eyes and Scarlet. Snake eyes because he's obvious

and he's in everything and the scarlet because

she's in most things. And then I like the fact

that she's a redhead. Yeah. So, so there's that.

And then, and then we have Duke and then we have

ripcord and Channing Tatum did really well as

Duke. Yeah, he did fit the look. Not quite as

assertive as is Duke, but you know, has a little

bit of fun too. It kind of reminds me of the

1980s with him a little bit. Yeah. And then their

whole training montage, I did not like the flashbacks

constantly throughout the film. Yeah. Because

it kind of took me out of it. It's like. It don't

need it was almost like when J .J. Abrams did

that for the Star Trek 2009 reboot. Yeah. And

they started out with, you know, obviously Kirk's

birth, which that, you know, made sense, but

it didn't need Young Spock you know thrashing

a bunch of Vulcans in there and I didn't need

Kirk driving a car off the cliff because ultimately

neither one of them really added much to the

plot. And so in this regard, yes these added

elements to the plot of like what happened to

Rex and what happened to Baroness and what happened

to Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes and things like

that. They did mean something, but I don't know

if we necessarily needed it. Yeah, like I kind

of I have the suspension of disbelief when I

watch a film in the sense of I Assume that the

villain has been around for a while or the heroes

It's kind of like when the heroes show up like

okay. We didn't get a whole background on General

Hawk We got like a little light one -liner here,

but yeah it wasn't bad and then It was kind of

bummed to see him get taken out so quickly. And

then, you know, Zartan was kind of neat and what

they did to him. And then they had all of the

different dynamics of these characters in the

G .I. Joe mythos kind of coming in. And I think

Breaker was one of them and some of the other

characters. Yeah. So I was super excited to see

a lot of these characters from the cartoon kind

of show up. Unfortunately, they were unceremoniously

not returned for the second film. Yeah. But I

did like how Duke came into contact and kind

of joined the Joes and the Joes, you know, you

got the whole background on them and got to see

Destro and how he kind of plays into it. I mean,

they did keep a lot of the characterizations

pretty close to what they were. Yeah. so i was

pretty happy with a lot of that the special effects

i felt like were overdone yeah the cgi was crap

i mean looking at destro's face was kind of crap

the bugs it was like okay this is interesting

but destro's face looked utter garbage and this

is mind you this is after the first transformers

film where they look like sheet metal you know

folding together into a truck it at least looked

realistic on the sheet metal. The face here just

looked like a mess and the Zartan thing had good

special effects. The drones, the eating of the

Eiffel Tower, the blasts were a little bit much

and I got that it took a lot to develop and so

they just kept using it but I could have done

without it. The robotic armor on the Joes I did

not like. I was kind of looking for more of that.

This is this is also kind of falls into that

superhero trap of where oh Well, they can't be

seen in in camo or they can't be seen in you

know, they're authentic uniforms No, they have

to wear this all black leather Battle armor,

you know Dark Knight X -Men, you know, and I'm

like, why are we doing this in the second film

at least? Corrected all the uniform issues Yeah,

but Yeah. So I mean, that was one of my big gripes.

And then of course, you know, going through the

crashing through the buildings or crashing through

the bus. And I was like, this is not GI Joe to

me. The second film felt more GI Joe than the

first in that regard. Yeah. So like, so what

I noticed this time around watching these movies,

And i'll mention this in the next episode to

the main production company for the first movie

is spyglass media group. Spyglass the history

of films for them. Spyglass owns paramount now

which is funny right now which exactly universal

bonavista paramount. But yeah, but spyglass just

the history of them from the 90s when they started

to 2000s and now Like they did the sixth sense

They did Shanghai noon. They did Bruce Almighty

they did Shanghai nights. They did Seabiscuit

they did The pacifier which I think is another

The Vin Diesel movie. Vin Diesel, I thought it

was The Rock, but it's Vin Diesel. Yeah, yeah,

yeah. But, you know, they've done all this stuff.

Now, the reason why I say this is because when

we get to the next movie, when we get to the

next episode of the podcast is, I think the reason

why the change is that they changed the companies.

because the company for retaliation, Skydance

media. So Skydance is mission. Skydance is Mr.

Cruz. Skydance is realistic. So that I think

is the big, and again, you know, 2009 to 2013.

That's what is that so did I say a lot of the

time there shouldn't be so that's four years

in between these movies Which is okay. It's not

bad. It's at least it's not a 20 -year difference

But I mean you look at the at the at the Skydance

Feature film releases, you know, you got true

grit The mission movies, I'm not even gonna list

all those. Before Retaliation, you got Jack Reacher.

Right after Retaliation, same year. Star Trek

Into Darkness, World War Z. And then another

Jack Ryan movie. And then Terminator Genesis,

and then another mission movie, Star Trek Beyond.

You have all of these Just other movies that,

and I think at that time in 2013, like we said,

this movie in 2009, they were going for, because

it is Spyglass, and I do believe, I do feel that

Rise of Cobra, even though it's not completely

accurate to it, and I wish that the... Cobra

commander mask was more accurate to it. They

were going for a cartoon aesthetic and in retaliation

which we're gonna get to they were going for

a more realistic maybe comic book aesthetic for

For it kind of thing So, you know, that's that's

just the way I see I see the two movies and yeah

We probably could have used the third movie at

the time maybe I know they're doing something

with the new whatever, whatever, whatever. Yeah.

Rise of Cobra. Did the film keep your interest

throughout? For me, it did. The funny thing about

this movie is even though I hadn't seen it in

14 years, I practically knew it like the back

of it was like I watched it yesterday, which

I didn't. But it was like literally when Duke

says. He says, well, whoever you are and whatever

this unit is, I want in. It had been 14 years

since I had seen that movie and I literally said

that word for word as he was saying it. I didn't

even, didn't even need a refresher course. I

remembered him saying that line. So yeah, I,

yeah, the film kept my interest throughout on

rise a Cobra. What about you? Yeah. I mean this

first one. Actually, the Spyglass was not the

company at the bottom. It's Sky Dance. Which

made the second film. Which owns Paramount. Sky

Dance owns Paramount. Spyglass does not. I don't

know. The first film did keep my interest. I

did enjoy a lot of the characters. I enjoyed

a lot of the characterizations. I don't know.

I felt like it was a fun movie. Not realistic,

but fun. Are we itching to watch the next film

now? Well, since we already have, I mean. Yeah.

Yeah. Would we recommend Rise of Cobra to people?

If you're a G .I. Joe fan and you've seen all

the cartoons and stuff, I would say if you want

to see that in live action, sure. But this is

what it's not required But if you want to see

what GI Joe looks like in live action, you could

check it out Yeah, I mean I I would almost recommend

it just because a lot of the characterizations

are really well done Yeah, I agree despite the

Cobra side of things like the Joe side of things

is really well done And that's again something

that the second film excels at It's very much

a GI Joe centric story on both sides of it. Yeah,

it's not It's not unlike the cartoon in that

essence, but there's there's a lot going against

it as far as just How true to the source material

the rest of it is yeah, but yeah, I don't know

I would recommend it Zero to five with half points

on the geek meter. What are you going to give

rise of Cobra? Honestly, it probably just because

again, I like a lot of the characters. I like

how it kind of played out. My. Quips of Cobra

Commander aside and Destro. And how they did

all that. I would probably give it a 3 .5. I'm

right there with you three and a half. Yep, 3

.5. I don't feel like it's bad. It's, it's, no,

it's, it's still a lot of fun. If you're looking

for a GI Joe movie and an action movie. Yep.

Yep. Yep. Yep. Absolutely. All right, folks.

Well, there you have it. GI Joe rise of Cobra.

We're going to head to a quick ad break here.

Some podcast ads, some other stuff. We're going

Yes. Mm -hmm. Yep, and you know how at the long

boss you say we're trying to get the YouTube

so How about you and me do a livestream show

about the new warriors? You've never read the

books before, and I have them, so that's a great

setup. We could give it a catchy name, like,

come out to play. Don't you think that's the

greatest idea? Sure, sure, sure, Delvin, that's

a great idea. Just one question. Yeah? Why do

you have me dangling off this ledge, holding

me by only one arm? Oh, yeah. Well, you'll get

it soon. I hope. Come out to play! A new Warriors

car download the show on itunes or if simplistic

reviews dot blog spot dot com i'm sure your insurance

company will cover that no they won't no they

probably won't All right, folks, we are back

here inside Studio 2009. This is episode 161.

Holy crap, folks, it's the end of 2025, and I

am hoping I can get the podcast to episode 170

before the end of the year. I don't know if I

can, but I'm hoping. Which means that everything

we've recorded... After episode 170 this year

is going to be hurting in 2026, which means I

have to record a preemptive intro. Luckily, I

haven't edited any of those other episodes yet.

Anyway, Steve Megatron, what in the heck have

you got going on right now? Promote yourself.

Just work. Just working on stuff for the website

as far as the top 100. Prepping a lot of blog

posts. Very cool. Very cool. Yes. He's doing

his podcasting 101 Series or what do you call

that? Podcasting thoughts or well, it's it's

just it's still Chronicles of Steve, but it's

yeah sub title of it. Yeah essentially, I'm breaking

down a lot of my frustrations with it's basically

kind of my breakdown of just creativity, modern

podcasting, and just a series of kind of focusing

on the creator and less on the company that's

trying to shovel crap down your throat. Gotta

make it better. Gotta make it better. Yup. Make

it better. Make it better. Gotta read the latest

post, folks. Why we built GeekCast Radio Network

differently. Can't wait to read that one. So,

oh boy. Hmm Fire fire fire fire fire fire Alright

folks to give you a quick preview of what's coming

up here on studio 2009 Let's see here next up.

We've got GI Joe retaliation After that Steve

Megatron and I are going to be doing the 40th

anniversary episode of The Breakfast Club. That's

right. The 1985 classic, The Breakfast Club.

So I've seen that film lots of times over the

years. I actually have one of the Funko Pops

for that movie. I don't have them all. I've got

one of them. I've got the the Ali Shidi character.

For that for that movie after that I'm not sure

what episode 164 is going to be yet We haven't

figured that out yet. I gotta figure that out

Episode 165 to 169 has already been recorded

This is a chaos queen and I did a 30th anniversary

for Casper. Uh, David Draper stopped by. We did

a Star Wars movie titles, retitled reordered

66. It's a whole, it was a whole thing I saw

on Instagram. So we discussed that person's Instagram

thing. And then we are launching media mayhem,

the movie choices, a version of media mayhem.

Uh, so. Dave did his movies, I did my movies

in episode 167 and 168. And then the Chaos Queen

will return to have a discussion on the 25th

anniversary of the film Coyote Ugly. And then

somebody's got to do Clue with me for 1985 for

its 40th anniversary. I don't know who's doing

that. The classic board game Clue had a film

in 1985 starring Christopher Lloyd, Martin Maul,

Tim Curry, and more. So love that movie. It's

got three endings to it. Not a lot of movies

have three endings anymore. So that's what's

coming up here Inside Studio 2009. Thank you
