About this Episode

Mike and Dave dive into the second arc of Andor Season 2, covering episodes 4 through 6. They explore Cassian's spy work on Ferrix, Cyril's role as an infiltrator for the ISB, the moral conflict between Cassian and Luthen over sacrificing the Gormans, and the shocking finale where Bix gets her revenge on the doctor who tortured her. The hosts discuss Tony Gilroy's approach to the franchise, character development, and what the breaking point between Cassian and Luthen means for the rebellion moving forward.

This is Craig Miller, Director of Star Wars Fan

Relations, and you are inside the 12 months of

Star Wars, only on Studio 2009. There is nothing

wrong with your podcast player do not attempt

to adjust the volume hello and welcome back into

our studio You are now inside studio 2009 only

on the geek cast radio network. I'm of course

jf2 and Mike Joining me once again as always

is mr. Dave Draper. Hi Dave. How are you? I'm

dead yet Not dead yet. That's right. He's taking

his shots, but that's right, you know Mm -hmm

universe keeps taking its shots right above the

bow just like them stormtroopers. They can't

hit a thing. Oh my friend The irony of you saying

that like I Just wait till the next episode or

the next then as it makes that Are you sure yeah

That is one of the big takeaways of episode 8

is, oh my god, stormtroopers are terrifying.

Remember, they're missing, like, Rogue One, I

think, did a perfect explanation for all of this,

and even though it sounds childish and kind of

dumb, I think it fits, which is that it never

hit Luke or Han because it was the will of the

Force. Yup. It was like, cheer it, he was like,

the Force is with me, I am with the Force, I

fear nothing. All is as the force wills it and

he was able the force willed it to get to him

for him to get to that lever And once he did

what he needed to do is throw a grenade at him

Yeah, that's true. You know, if you've ever played

XCOM, you know Nades. Yes. Oh, he's go with the

grenades always go with the grenades Okay. Oh

I missed Literally had a hundred percent chance

miss once Oh no. X -Com is brutal. Today we head

once again to a galaxy far far away. That's right,

we continue the 12 months of Star Wars Spotlight

as always. This time we make our way back to

BBY 3. For Andor's Season 2, this is part 2.

We are covering episodes 4 through 6. So Star

Wars, Empire, and Jedi. Yes, I'm gonna continue

to make the jokes folks. I can't I can't wait

till we get to the end We're just gonna make

up titles then okay But yeah episode four five

and six for and or So is every episode in this

arc one year later Or, like, I know the setting

is one year later, but is it, like, is episode

four one year later, five the next year, six

the next year, or is it all, okay, it's all the

same? Okay, one, two, three are a year after

the first season. Four, five, six are a year

after one, two, three. And then the next episode,

seven, eight, nine are a year after four, five,

six. Okay, and then 10 11 12 are okay, so okay?

Gotcha gotcha and 11 12 will be the same year

that rogue one star wars happens Okay cool very

cool very cool all right I might have said this

in the first episode, but I'll say it again the

original plan I mean back when Lucasfilm was

even more free with their money the original

idea was that each Arc would be a season. Yeah.

Each season would be like a, you know, would

take place one year after the other. Uh, but

apparently they decided to cut it down and just

have it be arcs in one season, which I'm fine

with. I think it does sort of eliminate, you

know, um, a lot of these shows have a bad tendency

to bloat. I have a lot of recent episodes, but

I do think it cuts it down to the point. Yep.

For the most part. And I kind of like covering

a season of television like this because it's,

it's very easy to like, yeah, we pick up pretty

much where obviously episode three left off with

the events of the end of episode three in season

two of Andor, but it. Those first three episodes

still feel self -contained to me just like these

three still feel self -contained Even though

it is one large whole story. I don't know. I

really enjoy doing it this way I wish more shows

would do stuff like this because this is kind

of cool covering it this way I'm really enjoying

watching it this way. I Think it's a relatively

new fun. I mean it's at this point. It's been

over a decade I gotta roll my eyes, but I'm very

very old And, you know, we're also doing a separate

series on Colombo. So we've kind of kind of noticed

the old the idea of telling one story. Even within

a season is relatively new. I know stuff like

Buffy and maybe X -Files would have like a larger

arc that every other episode would deal with.

They still had like standalone, like the idea

of of treating a TV show almost like a movie.

Yeah, it tells one story. is a relatively new

concept in television. Again, they've probably

been doing that for a while now, but for me,

it feels new, because I'm still used to every

episode being its own separate thing. Everything

gets resolved at the end, very sitcom, very traditional.

The dramas, everything would get resolved by

the end. For the most part, maybe you would have

stuff that would go on for a couple, there'd

be continuity, but the point being, something

like Andor that is telling one story, Yeah, is

a still a relatively new ish concept and I like

I like how they're doing too But I again, I don't

know how many stories Have that kind of situation

like and or has you know what I mean? Yeah, it

is it is sort of unique. It is it is telling

it is one movie. It's four movies Presented as

one movie. Yeah, and it is it is it is unique

like my my thing is I feel like The one time

the concept I don't think works not not it doesn't

it doesn't work for me But like I think the transition

from this cycle of episodes four five six seven

eight nine I Feel like the one -year jump is

almost unneeded because those two these two arcs

really connect to each other Okay, they all connect

to each other, but these two are like really

Very very intertwined. Although like some of

it is There are developments that happen in the

year between them that that are mentioned that

are important I guess so they advanced the I

guess but like yeah, I'm just babbling Well,

I thought I like Star Wars. Yeah, you do I I

don't know but by the end of this I I don't know

I kind of like I guess I got so caught up in

these three episodes. I was like, oh It's the

end. Okay, I'm gonna stop the episode. I'm gonna

stop What what else I'm gonna I was doing because

I took notes as I as I was watching it but I

also wanted to sit back look at the notes and

if there was anything I wanted to add on to it

or whatever else for each episode and I added

a few things and rearranged a few things whatever

else and I let the thing kind of play through

the credits and as the credits were rolling I

was like oh wait it wants me to go to episodes.

Like, literally, I thought, oh, episode six,

we're done because I'm thinking in the Marvel

way of, oh, there are only six episodes per show.

That's how Disney does it with the Marvel show.

So I'm like, oh, wait a minute. Right. Episode

seven. Stop this before it starts, because I

don't want to have to. For me, I knew that episode

seven was coming. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no. But my

problem, my problem, my issue is that, like,

it's like, I wanted to go to that. Yeah, yeah.

I had to wait so I can be relatively friendly.

No, no, this is like the best part. I want to

go. I want to go. I want to see it. I want to

see it again. No, no, no, no, no. Wait. Well,

we only have to wait till next week. So it's

not that far. That's not that far away. As I

mentioned in the beginning, man, this is my favorite

thing in years. And as I said last week, like

the only reason I'm going to give it to Empire

over this is because Empire is more Star Wars

-y. Like, Star Wars has a, like I said last week,

it's like a burger joint. And Star Wars has a

very burger joint feel to it. This does not.

Andor does not have that feel. Andor has a very

kind of classy restaurant feel. But the meal

is so good. So it's like, you can't really say

it's the best meal on the menu because it doesn't

fit. It's still part of the, I still think Personally

feel that for like I don't know how to put it

like an IP a universe because that's the word

we all use these days I think the best universes

are flexible You know like the MC you had winter

soldier, which was a political like a 70s political

thriller Yep, that ant -man which was a heist

comedy You know it had Guardians of Galaxy, which

was a sci -fi kind of you know it had a sci -fi

comedy, but like the It had, all these different

movies had a different feel, but they were all

part of the same universe. And I feel that the

best IPs can do that. And I think, you know,

Star Wars can have something that doesn't feel

Star Wars -y, quote unquote, and still be part

of that universe. At the end of the day, you

know, you kind of be like, you're always gonna

gravitate back to the thing, the true flavor

of the thing, which is Star Wars. That's why

the original trilogy will always be the ones

that everyone needs. 90 % of the people like

best Because they have the truest feel to them

prequels feel a little weird sequel trilogy feels

very It tries it tries too hard to feel Star

Wars II very inauthentic. Yeah very sort of Poppycat,

you know, I think the sequel trilogy will be

the thing that we've like ironically sequel trilogy

saved the prequel trilogy I being the worst part

of the franchise. Yeah, it'll be forgotten. It'll

be the jaws for like, like, like everybody's

excited that jaws is having his 50th anniversary.

Nobody's talking about jaws for, you know, it's

like, you forget the bad sequels. And the sad

thing is, honestly, past the first one, and the

first one came out five years before I was born.

But honestly, when I was, I think I, as a kid,

I remember my mom showing me jaws when I was

seven or eight, 87, 88, something like that.

What? I'm pissed off and jealous because like

my mom, well, we didn't have home video back

in those days when I was. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.

They re -released it, I think a couple of years

later, a year later. I know they re -released

it because my mom saw the re -release. It wouldn't

take me to go see it. I think I've told the story

and she came home and told me about this movie

that was amazing and it wasn't Jaws. I don't

know what it was. I don't know what she saw.

It was a movie about a shark. My tiny young brain

thought it was amazing and Jaws is a great film.

I love Jaws. I'm very excited to see it in the

theaters finally after 50 years. This is something

about being a child. Yeah so my my my point is

is i saw jaws as a kid i get scared shitless

as a kid from it but it's one of those things

where like. I don't like that was like jaws is

the only movie i saw of the quote unquote jaws.

You know, franchise, if you want to even call

it, the four films that Jaws has, I never saw

any of the sequels for Jaws. And I have no plans

to see any of the sequels of Jaws. I saw Jaws

2, I think I saw Jaws 2 first, because it was

on TV all the time. So I, you know, it was like,

oh, this is, and I was still pretty young, you

know, but. Yeah, it is. Jaws is a weird one because,

like, almost everyone has no problems forgetting

the sequels, you know? Like, even with the Jurassic

Park movies, you kind of remember the sequels,

kind of. I think Jurassic Park's... because they

keep making them, also. I think if you stop making

them, the sequels will fade, and you'll just

remember the first one. I think people remember

the good one. Yeah, the good one. That's the

worst thing that can happen to your movie series

is if, like, a later one is a good one, because

then you've got to, like... That's one of the

reasons like films like Halloween and there's

a couple other well, Jurassic Park kind of did

it with Jurassic World kind of But like Halloween

kind of has has had multiple Sequels where it's

like, oh these didn't happen, you know, only

the first one happened only the first two happen,

you know, but that's the thing Hollywood's doing

now is like making sequels that ignore the other

sequels which tells you how Forgettable the sequels

become after a while That and it tells you how

lame and dead Hollywood ideas are. Oh, well,

buddy. I mean, we grew up in the 80s. I remember

there was a mad magazine that made fun of the

fact that all the movies at the time were sequels.

Mm hmm. No. And and and even, you know, like

back then it was like Jaws three and Rocky five

and. You know, they're making fun of Star Wars

movies and Star Trek movies. You know, they were

sequel, sequel, sequel. I mean. The Universal

Monsters from the 30s had a dozen sequels. Each

entry had like sequel, sequel, sequel. It's been

a thing forever. It's just every generation thinks

that they're the ones. And honestly, I was thinking

about this the other day, because the Harry Potter

TV show is coming up. And people were talking

about how that was that generation Star Wars.

But even that was like a generation ago. And

it's like, well, what does this generation have

of its own? And it's like skibbity toilet. It's

like, oh, you know what, kids? Maybe it's not

so bad. If you like, I know that my generation

is forcing our 80s movies on you. They were good.

They were not skibbity toilet. They were good.

Maybe just suck it up and like live in the past.

Exactly. We had Raiders of the Lost Ark. We had

Jurassic Park. We had Batman. We had ghost. We

had the original Ghostbusters. Like, we had Star

Trek 2, we had Star Wars, we had, you know, you've

got Skibity Toilet. Trust me, living in the past

ain't so bad. Nope. Even our C -list movies like

Buckaroo Banzai and Big Trouble in Little China,

we're good. Yep. Well, Michael Bay is making

the Skibity Toilet movie. Okay, uh, Star Wars

and or so far Literally as I watched these I

I don't know what it is. I I had this switch

in my brain that Episode 4 was kind of like start

literally my note says in Even though we're not

there yet, but episode 5 the final thing that

I said It doesn't have the action of Empire but

it has the stakes and the feeling of it for the

fifth episode of the series. Literally, I'm watching

the fifth episode and I'm thinking, you put a

little bit of Darth Vader in there and yeah,

this could be Empire. Little bit, but that's

just how I felt when I watched it. So we get

in episode four, we get Cyril and we get the

whole Gorman thing and we get the spiders. Why

did it have to be spiders? You don't like spiders.

No, I'm just spiders. Mm -hmm No, I'm not that

like especially if they're big fake CGI spiders.

I'm okay. Mm -hmm Snakes are my issue Yeah, I'm

full Indiana Jones. But yeah, but will they make

silk and Garmin make silk? That's their their

their It's almost warhammer -like, where it's

like, this planet is a silk economy. This planet

is a grain economy. It's like every planet has

its one thing it does. Yeah, absolutely. But

yeah, so that's what Gorman does and leads into

the silks and the fabrics and leads into all

of that. Again, I like the reason why I like

some of this. A lot of the Star Wars TV shows

that they've done in certain aspects is that

we follow other characters besides the main character

and getting to follow Cyril around and and see

what he's like and what he's doing in these episodes,

at least in this episode specifically. I thought

that was really interesting. I like that they're

finally. doing something was serial yeah because

they set him up at the beginning of the first

season and then pretty much from the end of that

arc on he's just sort of there and it's like

why are we still with this guy what is his deal

and then he shows up at the end and saves didra

it was like you know i am glad that there's like

because my my kind of rule of fiction is everybody's

got to have a purpose you can't have somebody

around just because you like them You know what

I mean? Like they've got to serve a function

in the story. If you give them any like, if you

give them like major screen time, they've got

to have a fun and even secondary characters have

to have a function. They've got to they've got

to do something. Yeah. I'm glad that he's, you

know, his whole thing is he's being set up by

Deidre to infiltrate the Gorman resistance. Yep.

Such as it is. Such as this thing is he's looking

he's so serial about it because he's looking

for outside agitators. Yes, yes, he was outside

agitators shakes fists. Absolutely. I think and

I, you know, cause you've watched it all. I have.

I don't, I don't think I necessarily would be

upset if you spoiled this for me or not, but,

um, I'm ready for his mom to just get a blast

up side the head. Cause, uh, So much worse. Oh

boy, okay. If you want his mom to suffer, you

will be happy. Oh boy, I don't want anybody to

suffer. Oh, she suffers. So like the first episode

that we saw her, like when she first met Deirdre,

When they had the great that was great about

that scene i love it great when all that is that

suspenders yeah it says i'm in charge now bitch.

Yeah exactly that was awesome that was great

that was all i needed with. Cyril his mom and

all of the function in this in it like you know

she's annoying. It's it's his communications

with his mom are telling the the gorman partisans

he's sympathetic to them. Okay. Because and it

also tells you how the the Ministry of Enlightenment's

campaign is working Because his mom's like oh

those Gormans. They're always looking out for

themselves They're such jerks and they're so

snotty and elitist and you know I mean, so you're

also getting a taste of what the rest of the

galaxy is being told about Gorman Right got you

and what's interesting is at this point in the

story. I did not know If Cyril was just like

reading a script, oh, these are good people and

I like them, or if he really felt that way. Right.

So for me, that was like, and I leaned one way

and it turned out I was, I think I was wrong.

No, no, no, no, no, not majorly wrong, but it's

like, I thought he was, I thought he was doing

one thing and it turns out maybe it was the other

thing. Like it's ambiguous. Like cuz he's he's

very like he varied he defends them This is the

one where the ISP comes in and searches not not

this episode particularly but like this arc because

the one is right Yeah, he's he's he seems legitimately

mad about that. Oh, he's very mad about that.

He's Because like he's got to know that like

Girlfriends running the ISP on the planet thinking

but I'm dude You're oh god, like is he playing

a role? Yeah, what is he doing? Like I think.

And then there's a later scene where he's on

course, like this is OK, I know I'm jumping around,

but again, blurs in my head. It drove me crazy

that Andor goes to Gorman and I'm like, oh boy,

you know, they're going to be in the same place

at the same time. And then freaking cereal goes

back to course on on the exact same day. And

I'm like. Boo has a boo. There's that scene where

he's being debriefed by Partagast. And after

Partagast leaves, Cyril's ready to poop himself.

He's so excited. He's like, I am so happy. I

get to be a spy. And I'm like, OK. So maybe all

this stuff he's doing is an act. Maybe. Maybe.

But you'll find out. So we did have a Little

PSA at the beginning of the last podcast episode,

folks dealing with the stuff with Bix. And she

kind of tries to talk to Andor a little bit about

that, but he's like that whole scene where like,

I thought they were still out and spilling. I

didn't realize they were at the Lutherans. I

didn't realize they were at Lutheran safe house.

At first until the camera pulls that like those

windows when she's talking about the windows

or whatever. I was like Windows you're in space.

Why would you? Oh, you're not in space. You're

oh, okay. Oh boy I think they kind of I think

that scene was set up that way on purpose Yeah,

you know, you don't know where they are and the

camera pulls on like oh, they're on course not.

Yeah, exactly No, did you have problems with

I know some people have? not like She has a dream.

And a lot of people got real confused by the

dream. I've talked to people about that. Yeah,

I figured it was a dream. I didn't think they

were replaying or having it happen again to her.

I had people who didn't understand that there

were two elements to the dream. There's the young

soldier that they killed on a mission. And there's

the doctor. I've had people ask me about that.

And then it's like, no, it's a dream and she's

combining things in her dream. I literally had

to explain this twice to people. Yeah. I figured

out it was a dream because. Like I said, as,

as diabolical as Disney can be sometimes, I don't

think they would have her, you know, twice. Like

I don't think they would have her go through

that again. So it's just her reliving what it

already physically happened to her in her dreams

and like you said, she's combining two different

experiences that traumatized her and it's it's

just affecting her but luckily I kind of wish

like I don't want a full conversation between

her and and or about the whole thing, but I kind

of wish He, I kind of wish they had something

or they had like, Hey, can we talk about this

later? Like it was kind of alluded to where it's

like, Hey, can we focus on what we have to focus

on now? And I think maybe they did. I don't remember

if they did. It has been a year since that happened.

Unless you're talking about the soldier. They

talk about, they talk about killing the soldier.

Right. They talk about killing the soldier. Yes.

No, I'm talking about the other thing. Like for

those of you who haven't seen the show. The soldier

is a very young guy. Yeah, he was. They were

on a mission, and a very young Imperial soldier

saw Bix, saw their faces, and that's what Andor

does best, and shoots him. And Bix is traumatized

about that because this guy was a kid. And that's

part of the point of this series, is to complicate

things, is to say, You know the people who serve

the Empire aren't necessarily good people But

the idea that they're all mustache twirling villains

is a little oversimplification Yeah, and especially

like people point out on a lot of planets He

probably had like industries got like shut down

by the Empire. This might be the only job you

can get It becomes messy because then you go

back to the Nuremberg things where the guys would

go, well, I was just following orders. What I

love about this show is that it makes it clear

that this whole thing is messy. One of the things

that was great about Star Wars is that it was

so simple. It's very black and white. I mean,

that's the, the, the, the people forget because

we've gone through the eighties and then pass

that. Yes. You know, we've got, we've, we've

gone through the Reagan era. Like when Star Wars

came out, it was post Vietnam. It was post Watergate

and everything was dark and messy and complicated.

And America did not necessarily consider themselves

a good guys anymore. And people were not sure

if right and wrong, you know, I mean, we're still

debating right and wrong. And Star Wars said

there's good, there's evil. It's very simple,

very black and white, which was a big deal at

the time. That was a huge part of its appeal.

And that led into the Reagan 80s. And that led

into Christopher Reeve. At the end of Superman

2, Christopher Reeve flies the roof of the White

House back. It's got the American flag flapping

in the wind. And he said, we probably couldn't

have done this like five years ago. Like it wouldn't

have gone over. Yeah, no, this is GI Joe. This

is it's it's yep. It's very simple, but like

Andor is saying that no At the end of the day,

it's not simple It's complicated. There are good

people I mean there are people that aren't necessarily

like out to hurt other people, but they they're

doing what they need to do No, I mean you've

got guys like Luthen kind of like Andor like

like Luthen will just if you're a problem No

snap your fingers. You're gone You know, you

get in that shuttle with SIDA and you ain't coming

home, Spunky. Absolutely. That's not good. But

that's, I mean, that's the point of his speech

is I burn my decency for a sunrise I'll never

see. I will become a monster to help save everyone

else from monsters. Yeah. And then, uh, good

old Saul Guerrero shows up. Speaking of monsters.

Speaking of monsters. Yeah, exactly. Speaking

of freaking nutjobs. Yes. That whole subplot

is Willman, the one guy, the other guy from Ferrex.

Yep. Has become an expert in this device that

hacks Rytogas lines or Rydonium. Rydonium gas

lines I think it is. Yeah, but it's like space

gasoline. Yep. And they need it to fuel their

ships. And there's a device that they can use

to hack, I guess, Rhydonium pipelines. And for

the record, that stuff showed up in Mandalorian

Season 2. Remember the scene once with Bill Burr

and Mando and they hijack a truck to get into

an Imperial facility? Yep. Those trucks were

hauling Rhydonium, which is why they blew up

so good. And it's super -combustive. Uh, saw

kind of hold willman hostage not hostage, but

like prisoner Yeah at first to teach his guy

how to use the machine because it's very complicated

He says very few people know how to do this He's

always asking woman how he knows how to do it

and woman won't say um But like and then there's

a whole thing where like the the there are like

different variations so you gotta know what kind

of pipeline you're hacking into and For some

reason saw decides that the guy his guy An Imperial

agent because the guys like tell me which which

which pipeline we're hitting so I can use that

combination because it's very first It's very

stressful to know all of them. Yep, and then

the last minute you think he's gonna shoot Wilman

and he shoots the other guy He's a spy. He's

a traitor All the small thing out of his pocket

show everybody. It's like, okay. I Was like what

the hell are you talking about? What it like

I even paused it and looked I'm like, okay, what

smart? What is it a tape recorder? Or a communicator

I don't know bug I like tracking device Yeah,

like oh and a fun fact. Do you know what planet

they were on? Oh God, I don't know the name isn't

important. Okay. No The planet that saw was on

if at first where they were woman was training

the guy Right planet that the resistance had

they're based on in force awakens. Oh Oh. Wait.

Jakku? Not Jakku. At Jakku! The other one. The

green plant. The planet that was going to get

blown up at the end. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Okay, yeah, yeah. Alright. It's been all of Last

Jedi escaping from. Oh, wow. Interesting. Ooh,

yeah, a little continuity. Oh, Dakar, whatever,

yeah, yeah, yeah. The name of it doesn't matter

to me. It's the not Yavin. It's the not Yavin.

It's the Teemu Yavin. Ew, that's, jeez, no. Well,

Force Awakens. Yeah, yeah, no, the Force is gonna

go upstairs and take a nap. Oh, boy. That culminates

in a fascinating but kind of crazy moment. At

the end of the fifth episode, which I got confused

when I originally was talking about it with people,

but they do the heist, they do the pipeline heist,

and Saw gives this crazy -ass speech that's kind

of amazing and kind of scary. At one point he

literally says, it's a great line, revolution

is not for the sane. Which explains him, Saw.

He talks about how he'd been a prisoner. And

they were doing something in the jungles. It

never really specifies. Maybe they were working

Rhydonium. But there was a Rhydonium leak and

everybody died except for him. He became addicted

to the smell of it. And he actually like sniffs

a big whiff of the things. And Willman, who's

got like the full gear on, the full hazmat, he's

like, you're crazy. He encourages him to breathe

it in and he does it. Yeah, but he has so speech.

And you've seen Clone Wars and Rebels. So he's

talking about his sister who got, who was the

real leader who got killed. He's like, it's my

right. Right. Oh, it's my sister. Right. Oh,

loves me. Blah, blah, blah. And then, yeah, woman

does take a big breath of it finally. And, you

know, it goes off the puke. Yeah. But it's, it's

an intense moment. It's a very, the, that's the

one thing I love about how they set up season

two of Andor is every finale. Well, The first

episode finale with him every finale in the first

three kind of ended on a nice little cliffhanger

the third episode was really great. And then

these three episodes here kind of all end on

really great one is and then this was just the

fifth episode i was like oh that's more okay

we're gonna end with with the breathing in the

radonium gases. Okay, so you do you crazy I?

The question the question I've seen people ask

and I don't I haven't seen a definitive answer

yet is in Rogue one He's got that breathing apparatus

is that why he has it because of the radonium.

Yeah, but like is that oxygen? I'm gonna say

it's right. Oh, I'm gonna Yeah, he probably is

pretty much and the And of course for episode

5 the Especially for and or as a character. I

Have friends everywhere. I love I made that joke

in the last episode and you were like, huh? I'm

like, yeah people Visiting friends? Why do you

ask? It's like why do you ask? I'm naturally

curious. To help you. Gorman? Visiting friends?

Why do you ask? Curious by nature. I have friends

everywhere. It's the whole code. That whole sequence

is so cool. So good. It's a little tape that

goes, your name is Varian Sky, you were born

on this planet, you came to Coruscant when you

were three years old, your brother, he went back

home. This is your cover story. Yep. He's memorizing

it and he gets dressed up in the cool clothes.

I love the scene where he goes to Gorman. Everything

on Gorman is great with him. I'm playing the

Andros, the least interesting character, but

that whole sequence was fantastic. And then he

gets sent to his, he goes to the room and the

valet tells him the story of the Tarkin Memorial.

And of course the Imperial Armory is building

up so it's gonna put that in the shadow of the

armory. It's just like the Empire can't even

do evil things. They just gotta be dicks about

it, you know? Exactly. It's not enough that you're

gonna take over this planet and drive everybody

away. You gotta put their memorial in the shadow

of your fucking building. It's just so petty.

And then he goes to dinner and there's that great

scene with Ezra? She comes in and she's like,

I know who you are. And he does this great, he

keeps jumping back and forth between being in

character and just like, okay, you don't know

who I am. You don't know if I'm the guy you think

I am, the guy you're talking to, or an agent,

or an ISB agent. You just put everyone you know

in prison. Just like hammers her for being unprofessional

about everything. I'm constantly jumping back

and forth with, I can't wait to see the fabrics

at your father's blah, blah, blah. And by the

way, the people you have telling me, they're

just calling attention. Just lucky for you, I'm

who you want me to be. That's a great, like the

spy stuff is so cool. Yeah. Andor is a very underrated,

not so in your face. Version of Han Solo. He's

a lot more smooth, like... He fills that role.

Yeah, like, don't get me wrong, Han can be smooth

when he wants to be, but a lot of times Han Solo

is a blunt instrument sometimes, most of the

time. You know what, Han Solo is my childhood

idol. I love Han Solo. And I think that's why

I love it. That's why I like Andor so much, like

why I like Cassian Andor, is he reminded me of

him. Yup. Yeah, he can do that spy stuff a little.

Yeah, Han can never pull that crap off. No, I

would never have been able to pull that off.

Yeah, which is why I am feeling like this is

like. Part of the story of Andor is he goes from

being Han Solo, being a smuggler criminal to

being one of the. Yeah, a rebel leader. Yeah,

you know, it's like it's it's like the return

of the Jedi Han Solo is I'm frozen from carbonite

and suddenly he's a he's a rebel general. That's

just no like that This is congratulations, sir.

You get a trench coat and you're a general Where

with and or we're seeing all the character development

that leads to that because he's still kind of

think yeah No, he doesn't do anything in this

episode because he's not enough. He's not on

Yavin yet, but um He still even by the end he

still got that element of he does and and of

course That's what happens a rogue one is he

will still defy Orders and then do what he feels

is the right thing to do. Yeah Which is a very

hot solo quality. Yes, so he's not he's not totally

within the system Totally ends up but he he's

he's adapting and he's becoming more about a

rebel than a free agent Yeah, he's a nonconformist

who will work for the Greater good as long as

he can kind of get out of it. What is best for

him? No, cuz I think that's um, that's for him

Isn't quite the right way to phrase it cuz like

he is looking at the big picture He I think that's

that's one of my favorite moments in the series

is when he shows up at Lutheran's business his

business and he is uh This is furious because

it's breaking protocol. Yep, but they had this

conversation. I think the conversation sort of

sets What the I personally I think the entire

Series is about which is what are you willing

to sacrifice to bring down the Galactic Empire?

Yeah, Luther and of course we know from that

famous speech burned everything Yeah, and and

or is like I'm not ready to burn dicks. I'm not

ready to burn my decency Yeah, I think we can

I think we can still do this and still be able

to look ourselves in the mirror when it's over

Yeah, this is you know, he doesn't want to burn

Gorman like there's a line about if the Gorman

like strike They're gonna burn and Lutheran's

like good. They'll burn brightly Lutheran's whole

thing is Gorman is such an important planet that

we want them on our side and And Andrew's whole

thing Andrew was sent in You know, we kind of

skipped that part the whole the whole spy thing

is he's being sent by Luther to check out the

Gorman front and see if they're capable and He

feels and again like that scene in the restaurant

I was talking about he feels that they are amateurs.

They are overly eager they're gonna screw up

and they're gonna get burned and Luther's okay

with that because then the galaxy will react

and this was really the moment that like The

whole series I was already loving it But this

was the moment that the whole thing just really

sort of engaged my brain on another level because

Luther's right Mm -hmm, but it's also awful like

yeah, it's Morally like you I root for and or

I'm really no don't let these poor simple quasi

French people It's cuz cuz we know we know that

that that Diedre's whole plan is to provoke them

into doing something stupid The Empire can stop

them. Yep, and Lutheran saying good Because everyone

else everyone who's not killed the rest of the

galaxy will be so upset by them being crushed

And it'll it'll it'll help our cause and and

are saying but what about these people being

crushed? like You know, they're not bugs. You

can't just you can't just sacrifice people like

that. Um, and it's The problem is you come out

of that going Luther's right. It's horrible.

And it is just like what price and then again

I go back to Mon Mothma's wedding which everyone

or her daughter's wedding daughter was like Oh,

why are we looking at this? Because the whole

point of the series is what price are you willing

to pay? Yeah, that is the call like Are you willing

to burn your decency for a sunrise you will never

see? And for Luthen, it's yes. For Andor, it's

no. No. And the, so my other, I've got like one

or two other notes for C for episode five. The,

well, no, just one that we haven't even really

talked about, but going back to Bix a little

bit, when Luthen goes to see her behind Andor's

back, Uh, it's not that he sees her behind his

back. Okay, but no, no, no. I just want to clarify.

He doesn't tell him afterwards. I think that's

the issue. Right, because when Andor comes back

and she says, oh yeah, Luthen stopped by and

he's like, wait, what? I was literally just with

him and he didn't even tell me. So, but when

he goes to see her, my note is no, Bix, don't

let him into the say, I'm like, uh -uh, no, don't.

What? Like the guy from the guy from Chandrila,

the guy who got on the car at the end of the

episode. That's Andor's thing is like he's at

that point, he's afraid of Luthen. Luthen will

murder you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. It's

like I said in the last episode when we kind

of went over some of stuff. the stone scars guards

filmography and the roles that he's played. Most

of the characters he's played have been sort

of kind of pretty much bad guys sort of thing.

And I'm like, I don't trust half the characters

he plays. And I'm like, Bix, you're recovering.

Don't let this moron. Don't let this villain

in here later. She's not recovering. I know.

OK. He's full on. She's doing space. She's. Yeah,

I know. She's doing space drugs. That's a whole.

He catches her. Yeah. Doesn't he supplier? Oh,

doesn't he give? Okay. So he gives her her drugs

back. He finds her. Oh, that's what it gives

them back. That's what it is. He says they'll

help you with the dreams, but they'll come back

worse once you get off. They'll come back. Yeah.

Yeah. Once you detox. Okay. That's what it is.

So I'm trying to get the timeline right here.

So we're at BBY three. We're not at Rogue One

yet, so we're not at Yavin yet. Because in episode

six, I was surprised, and I don't know how many

other times he's played him. I think this is

the only time he's played him, but Benjamin Bratt

plays Bail Organa? I'm like, wait, what? Jimmy

Smits was busy doing, apparently filming the

Dexter, the new Dexter, whatever they're doing.

Yeah, okay. I mean, I didn't dislike it. I was

just like, hey, wait a minute. I remember when

I saw that scene, I was like, he looks different.

I looked it up. Then after that, there's just

been this big. You're lucky you skipped this.

People have just lost their minds complaining

about it. The whole idea was that they introduced

him in a little scene in this episode. And then

he comes back in episode nine. He has a bigger

role down the road. And they wanted to get people

used to the idea of every cast. Because they

couldn't get, like, they couldn't get Jimmy Smith.

Okay, that's fine. And I'm like, I got a controversial

take. But I like Benjamin Bratt better. I mean,

I think he's better in the role. I mean, I think

Jimmy Smith is too slick. He is, he's too slick,

he's too like, too breezy. Chewie's okay for

what he did with the role. He's a good actor,

you know he's a good actor, but I just think

as Bale, he's a little too slick, a little too,

you know, I don't know. He's acting like he's

acting in a Star Wars movie. Whereas Benjamin

Gratz acting like he's acting in a serious role.

Right. So currently mr. Smith's is almost 70

years old. He is 69 nice so Obligatory nice Yes,

I understand that but if you take that he Okay,

that's not the No, if you take that and you go

back to episode you go back to the prequels He

was forty four when the prequels were made when

he originally. What is the name can be thirty

years later sixty nine so it's twenty something

years and yeah yeah yeah ninety nine twenty six

years yeah i'd literally just did the man wasn't

bailing he wasn't bailing out. You didn't show

up until attack of clones. Okay. Attack of the

clones was 2002. Okay. I'm sorry two more Whatever

40 50 year. Whatever. The point is is that Phantom

Menace they had failed and Tilly's who was played

by this other guy who was who was from Titanic

and he got his scene cut He was one of the guys

running up against Chancellor Palpatine or Senator

Palpatine at the time Got you got you a chance

of warms place. Yes. Yes, but like I didn't like,

I'm looking forward to seeing what else Benjamin

Bratt does with the character. I, at the same

time, I didn't dislike it. I personally, I, it

didn't, when I'm saying it didn't upset me, but

the, the, the cater walling fans is, and I don't

know how many times Tony Gilroy said, we tried

to get them. Yeah, right. We just couldn't do

it. We just couldn't do it. This is like, Oh

my God, get over it. Yeah, exactly. And for 69

years old, the dude looks pretty good. I'm sure

he could still pull it off. That's fine. But

seeing Benjamin Bratt in the sixth episode looks

and sounds just fine for the character. No real

problem here. I kind of like him better than

Smits in the role. And he actually, when we get

to the final episode, he has a line that hits

me. No Mack truck. Oh Mack truck. Oh Like it

is I keep saying well, this is my favorite moment

because and are so good that they're like dozens

of favorite moments and it was right It was the

moment it was the scene with and or and Lutheran

was the moment that like the whole thing went

to another level Right. It was the moment that

brought it back to make it Star Wars. Yeah, I

got you that made it Just III just chef's kiss

Yep, the the the topping on the cake The the

p -series is like like it just it brought it

back to Star Wars and made it made it Star Wars

And it was just like this this thing is a masterpiece

Yeah, absolutely like I you know I I remember

I'm not like I remember stories, but there was

a Star Wars youtuber Who was very vocal about

how emotional he got when Luke showed up in Mandalorian?

I got excited I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't

get kind of wound up, but I wasn't like emotional

emotional I was like, oh my god, they actually

brought back Luke Yeah, I was excited but I wasn't

like emotional Yeah at the end of of and or I

was emotional you were I had just witnessed this

because I love Star Wars I've gone on about Star

Wars has been this huge part of my life for almost

all my life this thing was just and especially

because We've had such a It's it's felt so mismanaged

and so poorly treated to have this masterpiece

given to us this thing of beauty and complexity

and I was emotional that I was given this thing

that is beautiful and yeah, I You know what?

It's one of those things like I it's not that

I completely turned my opinion of Kathleen Kennedy,

but she She allowed this to happen. This happened

under her. You cannot it's not fair to blame

her or Boba Fett or for obi -wan the sequel trilogy

and Not say that she deserves credit, you know

Randor Mm -hmm and and and so whatever else You

know, right I was I wasn't I was emotional that

I had seen something From something I loved so

much that was So good. Yep. Oh, that's, that's,

that's, that's my thing. Yeah. Uh, but this sixth

episode, man, I, like, I remember when we did

back in January of 2024, when we released, I

don't remember when we were, I think we recorded

in December of 2023, when we recorded the Andorra

season one. I'm just saying I'm trying to feel

old. Aw, you're already old. I know, but I don't

have... There are plenty of other things that

make you feel old, but the point is... It's like

injuring myself by sleeping, yes. Oh, don't even

get me started on injuries, please. The point

is, is that when you first said to me that, oh,

let's do Andor, let's do this, I was like, okay,

cool, I'll give it a shot and... I honestly don't

like i remember watching and or i remember us

doing the podcast and i remember editing and

releasing the podcast. I actually had to go back

and listen to the podcast to remember anything

about season one event and i went back and i

was like oh yeah that's right i did really enjoy

this and it was like oh well like you know. Refreshing

star wars and star wars that didn't that dealt

with a different part of the galaxy that wasn't

just. The religions versus the religions and

the this versus the that and the up shorts versus

the down shorts yes i know that's from the comedy

version of star wars and not the actual star

wars but the point is is that. I hope. We get

more of this. I don't know if we are and even

though we're only as a recording and releasing

and blah blah blah is Production of how we're

doing these episodes, even though I'm only six

episodes into watching this I hope we get more

of this because this is a really good It after

watch like literally like even though I was like,

oh crap I gotta stop this cuz literally I was

about to start watching the seventh episode good.

I was like Oh, shit. Like I said, I've seen it

before and I was like, I want to watch the rest

of it now. Yeah. Yeah. The sixth episode really

does feel like again, I don't know what it is.

And it isn't just me just making the joke of,

oh, episodes four, five and six and Star Wars

Empire Jedi. Like, this doesn't feel like Jedi

really, obviously. But like, really, like when

I was watching the episodes five and six specifically.

I was like, this feels like a TV version of that

old, that 45 here, here you go. You want to really

feel old? That 45 year old movie, the movie as

of this recording just had its 45th anniversary.

Cause I think I don't remember the actual date,

but I remember a bunch of people on. Yeah, I

know 80. I'm the same age as the movie I'd be

saying I don't remember the actual date I think

it was. March twenty something it wasn't the

twenty fifth. Yeah. March may be twenty something.

Yeah. March has not ended here. But that's my

point is that. People were saying on on March

met and see now you got me saying 23rd. May 23rd.

Yeah. Yeah, that's what it is. I think I think

I know Empire Star Wars and Jedi were 25th. I

think Empire was a 23rd. I think it was a little

day or two earlier. So as I was watching this

finale, this this episode, I was like, oh my

God, this just like I think this is the first

thing. The second season of Andorra has probably

been the first thing that I've been so engrossed

that I've probably forgotten. Like, I can tune

out things and I can focus on a TV show or I

can focus on a movie, but half the stuff I'm

watching is... technical difficulties let's move

on shall we i usually tune it out because most

of the stuff i'm watching is stuff i've seen

before and because obviously i hadn't seen this

before and we're doing the podcast i'm like oh

very cool and i just got so engrossed in it and

this and i i just love how these episodes are

going and just it's so cool Like I I gotta why

I gotta look up Tony's other credits because

I want to see what other stuff I know he's done

a bunch of other stuff he has to have done a

bunch of other stuff because and the sad thing

is He is very he stated outright. He he's done

with Star Wars And that's no, that's fine. I

you know Like I'm glad that he is to me I have

mixed feelings because I'm a fan and I love what

he did. So you kind of always want to like as

a fan always wants more Right, but also as a

fan I want him to not be trapped in Star Wars.

I love Star Wars. I If Lucasfilm gave me money,

I'd stay there forever Never leave but that's

that's you know, but I do think there is something

about like Wanting to do other things with your

life in your career and I'm glad that he has

like Dave Filoni will never leave But like I'm

glad yeah, so I'm happy for him for Gilroy that

he's he's willing to go And almost like like

it and there's a mic drop. It's like I know yeah,

I made a masterpiece mic drop story out Good

for him. I can't remember if it was you know,

it's also interesting Can't remember if it was

Harvey Benner or Nicholas Meyer. I always get

them confused, but one of the guys that made

Rathacon, I think the director, had like, well

the reason I'm bringing this up is because he

was not a Star Trek fan. Tony Gilroy was not

a Star Wars fan. And it is interesting to note

that two of my favorite pieces of media ever,

because Rathacon is actually my favorite movie,

and Andor is my second favorite Star Wars thing

after Empire, were made by people that weren't

fans but it came in and they they they studied

they did their homework assignment and they had

respect for the franchise and i i've come to

between this and actually having uh trained dogs

i've come to the realization that respect is

more important than love sometimes Because I

honestly believe that Filoni loves Star Wars

Yeah, but you know a dog will love you but it

may not respect you And you need a dog to respect

you because you you know, you can't pee in the

house. You can't jump on people You need respect

I'm not saying fear Here's a completely different

thing. That's one of the things that made me

sad about Book of Boba Fett Was I think the story

they were trying to tell was that Boba Fett wanted

to rule through respect rather than fear I think

they botched it They did a bad job with it, but

it's a good concept. Like, if you're working

on a franchise, I think it's more important to

respect it than to love it. If you love it, you

might get indulgent. If you don't respect it,

you might get indulgent. That's what we get with

Filoni. That's why stupid Ahsoka will never die.

That's why Cad Bane, even though he was stabbed

to the heart, will probably come back because

he's got his little favorites. He loves it so

much that he can't... Make the decisions that

someone who respects the story will make, the

hard choices sometimes. For the good of the story,

rather than for, you know, but I love her. She's

my total real wife and not just a pillow that

I have in my house that's creepy. I think Gilroy

respected, you know, and you can argue, because

it does not feel very Star Wars -y, but it also

doesn't feel anathema to Star Wars. It doesn't

feel like it... It feels like it's not... It

feels like it kind of fits, but doesn't, but

it doesn't feel like it's a, I mean, nothing

clashes. It doesn't feel Star Wars -y. And that's

again, Benjamin Bratt has that one line that

I think really brings it back. So. So Tony Gilroy

really quickly, the three movies that he is done.

That I recognize I recognize other ones, but

the ones that I've seen in the past that I did

not know That he was the writer on I've seen

these movies multiple times, but I'm like Didn't

know that and we covered them years ago on a

different podcast here on the geek cast radio

network the born identity supremacy ultimatum

and legacy That's why the spy shit Works mm -hmm.

Yep Absolutely, yeah gonna have to go back to

those movies and rewatch them with a whole new

Whole new outlook on them not that not in a bad

way or anything. But like now that I know it's

Tony it's like oh cool, and I didn't really give

2012's legacy a fair shake because It wasn't

it wasn't Damon. It was what's his nuts It was

Renner It was Hawkeye. Aw, that's harsh. No,

wait. I like Jeremy Renner. Yeah, I like Jeremy

Renner too, but it was just like, oh, you're

coming. I like Hawkeye. I'm like, no, no, no,

I like the actor. He's not Hawkeye, he's an actor.

Don't do that. Don't be that guy. But yeah, what

a festive evening we have for episode six. Yeah,

okay, so that's the one with the party, right?

Yes, that's the one with the party. Yeah, we

haven't even talked about that That party. Oh

boy. That was that was something else wasn't

it? Yeah, well, okay, so set it up Uh, and I

this i've kind of figured out watching it the

second time It is so mon motha married her daughter

Who a chendulian gangster? And I think he got

elected to the senate He's one of the new senators

that got elected because because there's this

big A holiday on Coruscant where all the new

senators throw parties after they've settled

in and been elected or whatever. And so Mon Mothma

and Perrin, her husband, have to go to this party

because he's her in -law. And at the same time,

it turns out that a piece of art that Lutheran

had sold, Skaldin, they put a bug in it. Clea

put a bug in it to keep tracks on him. Yeah.

And at the same time, another piece in his collection,

it's Golden's collection, is a fake. Not their

piece, but another piece. So they're gonna go

through and examine everything in the collection

after the party. So they'll probably find, you

know, she's really worried they're gonna find

the bug. I mean, considering the freaking hoops

she jumped through to get that thing out. I know,

right? I don't know that they would have. But,

um, so... So Luthen and Kleia go to the party

to get the bug out of the thing. The whole thing

is, there's like this, like the art collection's

in this other room. There's this big room downstairs

where everybody, like the big party room, everybody's

drinking and eating, and then there's like a

separate room upstairs with the art gallery.

So Luthen and Monk Mothma have a little conversation.

They kind of, I don't want to say hook up, but

they, They're together And then Claire kind of

hooks poor Lonnie from the ISB Lutheran's inside

guy says you're gonna help me do this thing or

I'm gonna you know or or else Yeah, or else dumb

dumb They all go up to the art gallery and and

Claire and Lonnie go to this one piece which

is This weird sort of it looks like a maze, but

it's a book from a species that are generally

blind, but not always, because they consider

blindness a gift. Her whole thing is she's using

Lonnie to block the line of sight of everybody

else. It turns out that Krennic's there. Krennic

and Monmothma start having this pretty heated

debate about... the way things are going in the

galaxy in general and and philosophy about like

one man's terrorist another man's freedom fighter

and It gets pretty heated and that's when that's

when clinic goes. Oh, what a festive evening

This is because he's enjoying it. Yeah, absolutely

That's the way they run into Benjamin Bratt as

Bail Organa if he's on his way out Yep, I'll

let co -host speak Yes, I only I think the only

thing about this episode. I did not understand

I did not get why we needed this and It's not

me being a prude or anything as I don't get why

we need the lovers reunited scene. I -I don't

understand what's that serving to the rest of

the story. The lovers reunited. Yeah, uh, Sartha

and Kaz or whatever. Oh, oh. On Coruscant, on

Cat County. Norman. Who are you talking about?

You're talking about Vell and Sita? No, Sartha

and Kaz discuss the mission. Sartha says they

can walk away if things don't - Sita and Vell?

They might be using Mon Mothma's knee. Or not

Mon Mothma's cousin, right? I don't know. I'm

even looking at the right thing. I should be.

Wait. So - No. Okay. I literally don't know what

you're talking about because - Andor goes to

Gorman and he says, these people aren't ready.

And the Gormans are like, well, we think you're

a jerk and we think you smell like poop. But

Luthen had plan B, which was he sends Vel, who

is Mon Mothma's cousin, and she shows up on Gorman

and she does the whole, I have friends everywhere.

And the whole thing is the Gormans know that

the building that being built is not an office

building, it's an armory. They want to hijack.

They're convinced that the Imperials are shipping

in weapons. It's before the Imperial Senate scene.

I sent you the Wikipedia link for the scene that

I'm talking about. Talking about? I literally

have no idea what you're talking about. Technical

difficulties. Let's move on, shall we? Okay,

that is them. That is them. I don't know. They're

using their code names, I guess. Okay, as well

and sit up as they can walk away with things

don't don't feel right don't of right As the

getaway driver Dreena should be with them at

the top that is that is on Gorman Okay, well

then the Wikipedia got it wrong because No, they're

talking about us one corner. Okay lead the elsewhere

in corner. It talks about Bix Okay, they don't

say that it cuts back to Gorman Yeah, that's

what I'm saying. They didn't finish. They're

on Gorman. That's that's that's Citra and Vell.

I guess that's the thing cuz like Anders codename

is is remember And it is a code name. They use

a code name. So they're using their code. Okay,

they're using their code names Okay, I'm just

saying it just felt the whole thing is Citra

Citra it showed like they've been apart since

the end of last season And the one time you saw

Citra was she was flying Tey away, which meant

that Tey was gonna get murdered. They run into

each other in the same, they don't run into each

other, but they meet each other at the same cafe

that Ando was in. And they have this long conversation

about how Citra has, because Citra's always been

the cold one. She's always been focused on the

mission. And Deval's always been the one that's

like, yo, I'm in love with you, let's be together.

Citra's like, something happened to me. I was

recovering. I had a lot of time to think. And

I realized what I want now and what I want is

to be with you and I'm like, okay. I have seen

a movie before. I know where this is going. I

don't know how you didn't know that they were

working with the Gorman Underground to like hijack

this shipment. And the whole thing is they're

also not terribly impressed with everybody. And

they say, nobody bring a blaster. And the one

girl is supposed to be the driver of the getaway

truck, but they don't trust her. They don't like

her. She's got an attitude. Everyone's got an

attitude about them. You know, their whole thing

is, look, you brought us in as outside consultants,

outside experts. I'll either listen to us or

we'll leave. Um, and then there's the, they,

they, they make a love. The two girls make love.

So, um, cause they love each other and they're,

they're going to go on this mission. And then

the next day they have the mission. Which is

they're hijacking like these trucks go through

this neighborhood at night Make a lot of noise

because there's a scene earlier where one of

the residents of the neighborhood is complaining

about it Then the the shipments with the the

whole thing is this is why they wanted serial

is serial can tell them which shipments But what

you can tell them is which shipments don't have

like What's the word? Opera paperwork. Yep, and

and those are the ones with the guns. They can

tell which ones have proper paperwork And those

are always the last ones to come through, and

they're always by themselves. They do this whole

elaborate thing where they shut down the truck,

they shut down the driver, because they have

these electric stun charges. They break open

the truck, they find that there are weapons,

and they ship them into the sewers. Ship them,

they send them sliding down the thing. There's

a truck waiting in the sewers. Base truck. And

what happens is, ironically, the guy from the

Group meeting who had complained. Oh, there's

those noise in the neighborhood when we're trying

to sleep he comes out He's like what the hell's

going on and one of the Gorman front guys like

go go back to sleep old man He's like no screw

you what's going on and they get a big fight

and the kid pulls out a gun And the guys like

what is that a toy? I'm not impressed with you

and they get in a big fight and the gun goes

off and It turned around neither one of them

got a hit that citrus lying on the ground And

this is apparently before Book of Boba Fett when

robot stomachs were a thing. And then Vel is

freaked out and heartbroken. They gotta make

a run for it because Imperials are coming. The

whole thing is, the Imperials knew that, again,

this is Deirdre's whole plan. So they let them

do this so they could get guns. So they can get

the guns and do the stuff. There's even a theory

based on what happens later, the guns might not

be as powerful as they could be. I'll explain

that to you later, but there's like, how come

the guns don't work as well here? There's a fan

theory, no prize, that maybe the Imperial weapons

were a little bit sabotaged. Of course they were.

Which is smart. You'd think. Exactly. Anyway,

it ends with the Gorman front and Vela escaping

and Vela's heartbroken and she's pissed off at

the stupid kid who had the gun. Um, and she gives

him this big angry lecture. Yeah, that takes

place on Gorman, sir. Oh, okay. I don't know.

It's just the way that the way that the entry,

aside from me, hadn't written. Yeah. This is

talking about Vicks or Kayleen. Everyone calls

her Vicks. What the hell? Yeah, I'm like... Oh,

and maybe those are their last names. Maybe.

They don't know these people's names. Don't know.

Oh boy. So yeah, okay. Okay. It's uh Stinta Kaz

so I keep saying your Sintra I'm stupid Your

Kaz and then I bet it's Vail Sartha. Oh boy.

Oh Lonnie Young I Know everybody's names, but

these two characters Okay, that's why I was we

were confused because you were using their last

names from the the wiki and I was yeah Yep. That's

why we were confused, folks. Darth Vader used

the power of the Force on us. No, I knew what

I was talking about. Uh -huh. Yeah, I was just

reading what the thing said. Yeah, you were just

reading. You were just following orders. That's

right. Like a dirty Imperial. That's... Huh?

Oh boy. Like that kid that got murdered at the

beginning of the conversation. Mm -hmm. They

do not... Give her name at all. Nope. Well, you

know what? You can play that game. You can play

that game. Mm -hmm. Kazza's eventual lover, Vel

Sarta. Ha! I knew it. Yeah. Cool. Hooray for

figuring out context clues. Yay, context. I knew

who she was. I had... I often say when we talk

about Star Wars, I have the action figure. Yes,

yes you do. But the second three parts are here...

Oh, Cassian has a middle name? Holy Wikipedia!

I'm sorry, it distracted me. Sorry. It's a good

thing Andor isn't his middle name and then his

other, his last name be something that begins

with T, because that would just be weird. Cat?

Yes, cat. But yeah, no, episode four through

six, I really, like I said, really enjoyed it.

Episode four, I'd probably give, let's see, three

and a half. We did it for the whole arc last

time. Oh, did we? Okay, so the whole arc, oh,

Jesus. Also because I can't remember. I can't

remember what goes where. I barely can remember

what goes where. Four and a half, the whole arc.

It's so close to being like, if I was going to

do it individually, I would have done three and

a half, four and five, because episode six really

was a five for me. I was like, that ending, like,

wow, so cool. Well, first of all, we didn't even

talk about the ending, which is that they But

we kind of did the the the the creep the creepy

doctor guy who tortured Haley apparently on Ferrex

has has become a bit of a Bell of the ball among

some jazz circles and the Imperial Navy wants

him to because he's been working exclusively

the ISP so he's transferred to an Imperial naval

be Building at the end of the fifth or the end

of the sixth episode He walks in with his little

Chinese food He walks up he walks into his building

he walks up to his office and and Bix is there

And she and it's a great moment because he's

all like and I know you from somewhere I know

you from somewhere and she makes him sit in the

chair and ties him down and puts a little gag

in his mouth and puts on the recording of the

dying alien Which is that which is the ultimate

torture device that he created he didn't create

he just figured out that like these aliens particularly

their children they're being murdered by the

Empire gave off a cry that like really screws

up your brain and So she puts the thing on his

head and it's like poetic justice. He's being

tortured by the same thing that tortured her

She's walking out a fat Imperial naval guy goes.

Hey, you're not supposed to be here Like well,

maybe if you've done your job, but he gets shot.

Um As she walks outside and she and or Stanton

Cassian Andrew standing right there Cassian Jeron

and or is standing right there and the two of

them kind of like what and they do the cool walking

away And then he he clicks a little device in

the whole The the doctor's office blows up. Yep.

She gets her revenge She gets her the hell the

punch for an ending. Oh Man the whole I haven't

posted it on Facebook yet, but I grabbed the

because again, like I said, I was not expecting

And or to show up. I was not expecting him to

be there So I just assumed she's gonna walk out

like the badass chick that she is and I got a

screenshot of her walking away I almost got it

in where she's completely in shadow and I was

like, oh that's gonna be a great Facebook The

featured wallpaper whatever on your profile thing.

I think the the thing is that's sort of the fallout

The the and or Lutheran scene where they're having

the fight. Yes, and or has chosen Bix Yes, that's

why he's there. He's chosen, but he's telling

you yeah, it's just a different path Well, yeah,

but I'm saying they I'm saying they do set it

up He is choosing a different path than Luther's

path. I will become more apparent in the next

series of episodes Lutheran so you're Okay, hold

on. So what you're saying is the scene that we

saw earlier or that we, the scene that we went

to be. Yeah. So when he's talking to Luthen about

Bix and then when, when, when he goes to talk,

wait a minute, wait a minute. I'm trying to make

sure it's literally, and or makes a decision,

right? Which is I'm going to choose people over

principle, not even principle, but whatever obsession.

Yep. so Cuz my I don't know and again like I

saw That scene of him pushing the button in the

building blowing up is in the trailer. So I knew

it was gonna happen Yeah, I just wasn't sure

if it was like I Don't know. I like to follow

things linearly. So I'm like I can handle things

like if you start off an episode where This happens

now And then you do like the little, oh, this

is the Andor logo. And then six months previous

to the thing you just saw. I can handle that.

I know, but I'm, I'm saying for me, normally

in my head, when I get to the end of a show,

I'm thinking the last scene is not tied to the

previous type. Like, I don't know. It just didn't.

The final scene to me didn't feel like it was

tied to when they were talking earlier, when

Luther and Andor were talking earlier. I understand

what you're saying about - It was absolutely

tied to it. That's a critical pivotal moment

of the entire series. Yeah. And everything that

happens after that falls like Andor has split

from Luther. And in fact, one of the themes of

the last three episodes, not this particular,

not the next arc, not - We do Matthew's Monster.

Not 789. In 1112, one of the big themes is that

everybody split from Lutheran. Oh, wow. Yeah,

Lutheran is kind of on his own at the end, except

for Claire. And it's sad. But, I don't want to

spoil it, but that's one of the themes, is that

Lutheran has kind of, even though he kind of...

Created the rebellion started the rebellion in

a lot of ways It wouldn't be there if it weren't

for him, right? They have moved on from him because

he's he's the guy that will like murder you.

Yeah That's not good But also he still he still

has a role to play Well play mmm, oh and Lutheran's

wikipedia article they use the frickin each I'm

condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat

them. I burn my decency for someone else's future

I burn my life make a sunrise that I'll know

I'll never see and the eagle that started this

fight Oh Wow, and the eagle that started this

fight will never have a mirror or an audience

or the light of gratitude That man was a prophet

Oh Boy like I'm i'm excited for you because this

next arc is the fucking bomb if you like this

arc and by the way 4 .5 for the for the arc like

i think i get the last one 4 .5 like probably

i love this series so much but like absolutely

like the the everything is building to this and

1112 are the denouement the the the cooldown

well not really there's still a little excitement

left but it's it's story wise it's more the cooldown

And there's excitement, there's action. It's

really to like the dovetail to Rogue One. There's

still there's still there's still things to tie

up. Yeah. Like this is this seven, eight, nine.

Action. You will not compare them to the sequel

trilogy. Oh, no, I would never. Are you kidding

me? Hell no. This is like episodes four, five,

six, and then. Empire Strikes Back, Empire Strikes

Back, Empire Strikes Back! That's right. Absolutely.

And of course you're gonna have to go back and

re -watch an episode of Rebels. Make it all fit.

Which episode? I think it's called Secret Cardo.

It's the one with Mon Mothma. Oh, okay. Alright.

Alright folks, well, 4 .5... all around for,

well, 4 .5 for Dave, five for me. Uh, for this

arc, this, uh, episode four through six for Andor
