About this Episode

Steve Megatron and TFG1Mike break down the second half of Boy Meets World season 5, covering episodes 13 through 24. They discuss the major story arcs including Corey and Topanga's relationship struggles, the introduction of Lauren, Sean's evolving romance with Angela, and the graduation of the class of 1998. The hosts share their reactions to the show's transition into more mature themes, the impact of various guest stars, and their thoughts on the series' parody episodes versus more serious character-driven moments.

This is Jason Marsden. You're listening to the

Geekcast Radio Network. 30th anniversary of boy

meets world and this is episode 11 finally after

all this time of podcaster meets world brought

to you by the geek cast radio network i am one

of your hosts tf2 and mike joining me as always

is steve megatron hello sir hello sir today we

are going to talk about the second half of boy

meets world season 5 which includes episodes

13 through 24 and This second half of this season,

wow. This has a lot of stuff that I didn't forget

about. I just forgot where in the series that

these events were going to occur, and I did not

realize it was the second half of season five.

Between the weekend at the ski lodge with Lauren.

It's broken. It's broken in seven places. Give

me 50 cc's of St. Joseph's chewable aspirin.

Stat! Those slopes are treacherous. He fell getting

off the bus. Those buses are treacherous. Well,

I don't think anything's broken. It's probably

just a mild sprain. Embellish it for my friends.

I'll have the doctor come and embellish it for

you. My guess is you'll live, but she won't ski.

Sorry. Well, there goes our senior ski weekend,

huh? No, Corey, we can have a great weekend here

together. We can sit here while everybody else

is out playing in the snow and skiing and having

fun, and we can talk about how much fun they're

having without us. Go ski. Thank you. No. Go

ahead. Go. Sean never would have left me. Hey,

Cora, get your foot out. Ski injury. I hit a

little ice patch on Devil's Run. Devil's Run

is closed this weekend. What I did was insane.

So, how about some hot chocolate, insane person?

Well, I'd get you some, but my foot really hurts.

No, I'll get it for us. It's part of my job.

This must be a great place to work. Yeah, but

during the day it gets a little quiet because

everyone's out on the hill and I'm stuck inside.

Well, I guess today you're stuck with me. I've

been stuck with worse. Thanks. You play backgammon?

My middle name is backgammon. What's your first

name? Corey. Mine's Lauren. Sean accomplishing

the impossible of getting to the Super Bowl and.

Look at that. Look at what Georgia plays over.

I'm looking at the crowd. Look at the boy holding

up the sign. Which one? The one that says, hey,

Feeney, nothing's impossible. The first girlfriends

club and. Sean wants what Corey has. Yoko. shows

up for the first time. He listened to Topanga.

Let's see. What are you doing in my seat? This

breakup is having serious ramifications on me.

Nice word, Jughead. And we also have some seriousness

with episode 18, which we will get to, but it

is the Corey and Sean alcohol episode. And I've

got a lot to say about that, but That is what

it is, and we will get to that. First things

first, the episode 13, The Eskimo. Upset that

the seniors are slacking off, Mr. Feeney threatens

to issue Fs and assigns personal goals to Sean,

Topanga, and Corey. Sean is to find two tickets

to the Super Bowl. Topanga is to refrain from

interfering. and Corey is to help them both.

Corey will fail if either Sean or Topanga fails.

Meanwhile, Eric and Jack search for soulmates.

Oh, man. What did you think of this one? Yeah.

This one was weird. Like this is kind of the

beginning of the end, like the show starts going

down a weird like. Road for a lot of them. I

mean, you get more down to earth stuff with in

terms of Corrine Topanga, but and to a lesser

extent, Sean, I mean, he is, too. But I mean,

everybody else starts kind of going off the rails.

Yeah. Well, Eric, Eric is. There's this, everybody

always talks about the transition of the Eric

character from being what he was in the first

four seasons to slowly becoming Eric, the idiot

savant, or just the idiot, for the rest of the

show and being the comedic relief. It kind of

it's probably already started, if I remember

correctly, but it kind of ramps up here because

not necessarily. Well, in this episode, he and

Jack are searching for soulmates and they find

these two girls, except. One is perfect for Eric,

one is perfect for Jack, but they're the other

one that the other one is like they switch them

essentially. And the girls are like. We don't

want people like us. We want the opposite. And

whatever, whatever, whatever. Eric and Jack at

the end of the episode leave and the two girls

look at each other. Those idiots, they're not

coming back. And I'm just like, you idiots, go

back. Like, oh, God. Poor Eric. I love the challenges,

and I love that Feeney is finally getting to

the point of being a frustrated educator slash

neighbor slash friend of Corey, Sean, and Topanga.

And he's pointing out these things of, holy crap,

these are their characteristics. And the fact

that Corey has to be the one, because Corey is

always the one to help people, but he has to

be the one to help both Sean and Topanga not

fail. And this leads to some comedic things with

Corey, Sean, and Topanga where they're sitting

at Corey's kitchen table and the radio's kind

of blaring in the background. And they're like,

Sean, how are we going to get Super Bowl tickets?

How are we going to do this? How are we going

to do this? The radio is playing. Oh, we're going

to have a contest of blah, blah, blah, blah,

blah. Topanga is just standing there with the

radio, holding it out like Vanna White. And then

she goes to the kitchen cabinet and is like,

soup or bowl? Like, Corey and Sean are not this

dumb, but they are played as being like. And

at one point, Corey's like, what is it, Lassie?

What is it, girl? Did Timmy fall down? He doesn't

say it's some sort of Lassie thing. And she just

like smacks him and looks at him like, are you

crazy? And he they she finally, you know, shoves

the radio down there. Like, look, listen to the

radio, you idiots. Oh, we can call in. And Sean

calls in and I'm the two. This never happens.

I've been calling radio stations for 30 -something

years of my life. I have never hit caller 7,

caller 9, caller whatever number. Never have

I hit it. Never. Dude, I used to hit it all the

time. You lucky son of a bitch. Like, I literally

used to be, like, they would be like, caller

10, and I would hit it every time. Hello? Yeah?

I'm caller 20! What? What? I gotta do what? If

you're wondering why everybody's looking up at

the sky, it's because there are people on that

billboard! Hey, hey, this is Johnny Latte from

the 102 .5 WKZN Morning Zoo! And we're coming

at you live from our billboards in downtown Philadelphia,

where it's a crisp and clean, no caffeine, 16

degrees out here. Let's check out our remaining

four, our remaining three freezing contestants.

I'm here with a small but very loyal crowd of

well -wishers. Jump! And the obligatory lunatic.

We'll be back with our 32 of our Super Bowl madness

right after this word from the Bahamas. We are

warm and you are cold. We are warm and you are

cold. We don't need... We are warm and you are

cold. We... Hey, how are ya? I brought you some

hot chocolate. Oh, thank you so much, Corey.

Yeah, never. I did, however, because I knew one

of the local, at the time in Louisville, the

local radio DJs. He did give me some free passes

to one of their events at one point, but I didn't

actually win them from calling in. So, but there's

that. But yeah, I never could hit the radio call

-in numbers. Never could. So Sean calls, he hits

it, he's caller 20, and They're all excited.

They're jumping up and down and whatever else.

He listens more to the DJ on the radio. He's

like, wait, I have to do what? We cut to the

radio station thing where they have three people,

including Sean, standing up on a billboard in

the middle of winter. And Sean's like, no, I'm

going to be up here and I'm going to do this.

And Corey looks over and they have like three

or four contestants there. Two of them quit because

Corey makes them quit. And the other one was

an Eskimo that came from Alaska. And for him

in Philadelphia, this is a heat wave. So, again,

the whole challenge thing of. How are you going

to get this goal accomplished? And somehow at

the end, we hear Feeney yell out, oh, look at

the boy holding the sign. Mr. Feeney, I made

it. And he made it. And Topanga still didn't

learn not to interfere or any of that. And there's

this whole thing with her and Feeney about her

A's. I don't, you know, her whole thing of. I

don't fail. I don't. I'm not a failure. You know,

all that and whatever else. I like this episode.

I think it's a good episode. I think it's fun.

And then we get to episode 14, Heartbreak Corey.

And Corey, you can stay up, but don't stay up

too late because I want my Corey Falcon flying

down the slopes with me tomorrow, okay? Good

night. Good night, Lauren. Good night. Well,

I'd better get some sleep, too. Yeah, go ahead.

I'm just gonna sit here, let the fire die down.

Watch the moon rise over the mountain. Sounds

nice. I've never done anything like that before,

because I'm from the city. And in this city,

we don't see that many stars because of what

they call... Ambient light. Right. Ambient light.

I was raised in the city, too. Philadelphia?

Mm -mm. New York. But we moved when I was 13.

I thought I'd hate living in the mountains, but

now I wouldn't live anywhere else. Well, I'm

from the city. I could only live in the city,

you know? Couldn't live without that ambient

light. In fact, I don't want to see anything

in the sky. Look. Okay. Wow, there's so many

stars up there. It's so beautiful. You were distracted

by the city lights. Oh, the fire's gone out.

Should I throw another log on it? One of the

most popular episodes of the entire series. When

Corey sprains his ankle falling off the bus during

the senior class ski trip to the Mount Sun Lodge,

he doesn't tell Topanga when he spends the night

talking in parentheses. with the young lady,

Lauren, who's volunteered to take care of him.

Also starring Trina McGee Davis as Angela Moore,

guest star Linda Cardellini as Lauren. Linda

Cardellini would go on to play Velma in the Scooby

-Doo movies, and I did not recognize, like, I

know what she looks like as Lauren in Boy Meets

World. That's really all I knew her from. Her

Velma transformation was amazing because I did

not recognize her. And then she also was Hawkeye's

wife. That's right. And I didn't recognize her

there. Her Lauren look in this, the way she looks

and how old she is in this episode is how I know

this actress. And as Hawkeye's wife, barely recognized

her at all. They didn't look that much different

except age. Yeah. I mean, I didn't notice any

of that just because. But I don't know. I was

like at the time that it came out, I was like,

oh, she's not bad looking. She's between her

and Topanga. They're both very cute. And I can

kind of see why Corey would stay up talking all

night to her. But this is the episode. This is

the legendary episode of the one time sort of

Corey strayed away from Topanga. kind of thing.

And yeah, I really dig this episode. I think

it's a good episode. I think it shows, like,

we've known Corey for five and a half seasons.

We know that he is always supposed to be with

Topanga. We know that that's his destiny. We

understand that within this universe. but this

is something different. They were broken up.

They were this, they were that or whatever. And,

you know, he goes to, you know, they go to the

ski lodge and he sees this, this other girl and,

and yeah, I. I really still love, this is one

of my, later on in the podcast, folks, I have

episodes where we're going to count down our

top ten episodes of this series and our top ten

episodes of Girl Meets World. This is one of

my top ten episodes. I don't know where it's

going to fall on my list, but it is most definitely

one of my top tens. We get to the first Girlfriends

Club. It's Valentine's Day, and Sean's jilted

exes are so sure he'll ruin his date with Angela

that they kidnap him to keep him from hurting

her. Meanwhile, Corey lands in trouble with Topanga

after she reads the letter to him from Lauren,

the cute mountain girl assigned to take care

of him in the previous episode. So, you told

you were going to spend Valentine's Day together?

That he'd take you somewhere nice. That you'd

be together forever. We're going to dinner and

a movie, nothing fancy, no big deal. Sean's incapable

of committing to a Valentine's Day date. He knows

how important it is to a relationship. He'll

back out. Because he doesn't know how to be a

boyfriend. He says things he thinks we want to

hear, but he doesn't mean them. I think you should

pay. I said no comments, you little Jimmy Olsen

freak. And please, no more pictures. Hi, Topanga,

you poor thing. Look, I know it's early, but

whenever you're ready, my brother's face is really

clearing up. Are you two vultures finished? Look,

what's going on between me and Corey is going

on between me and Corey, okay? That's not a quote,

Ira. So, yeah, this one was Sean and the first

girlfriends. When did this? Oh, this is February

13th, 1998. I believe the movie The First Wives

Club was already out by this time, so that's

kind of where the title of the episode comes

from. Yeah, pretty much. It was a 1996 film by

Hugh Wilson. First thing it shows up is a TV

series. I'm like, it wasn't a TV series. It was

a movie. I know what I'm talking about here.

What did you think of this one? It was interesting.

I mean, you had the dynamic between Topanga and

Corey's situation. And then Angela kind of in

the mix there, too. Yeah. The ex -girlfriend's

kidnapping him was kind of funny. I see Sean's

point more than I see the ex -girlfriend's point.

They were all high school relationships. They

didn't really mean much because none of them

understood it. Yeah, and Sean didn't understand

it either because Sean had this two -week rule

or one -week rule or whatever it was that he

had because Sean at the beginning of the series

and going forward from when he first debuted,

He wasn't really a player, but I guess he was.

He wasn't a player in the sense of he was trying

to have them all at once and juggle them kind

of thing, but it was more of he's looking for

something. And none of these girls are what he's

looking for for the long term. Please, it's Valentine's

Day. I made a promise to Angela. You made the

same promise to me, Sean. Oh, yeah. I did. But,

Dana, that was six months ago. Nobody makes a

promise that far in advance that they expect

to keep. Really? How far in advance can you make

a promise? A week? A day? You promised Angela

that you'd never disappoint her. How long will

it be till you hurt Angela like you hurt us?

A week? A day? I don't... three witches think

you're doing? Angela. We're doing you a favor,

Angela. You just don't know it. What I do know

is Sean would have been here for our date if

it wasn't for you guys. I tried. I wanted to

be with you more than anything tonight. The defendant

will refrain from using his charm to sway the

witness. And we're not leaving until you admit

that you're not boyfriend material. You know

what? Give the guy a break, okay? I mean, Sean's

made some mistakes. Yeah, but he is learning

from them. He gets to Angela. And we go through

the whole Donna Karan, steal the purse and the

poetry and the this and the that and the kiwi

mango lip gloss and all that stuff. And they're

super happy together. They love each other for

the time that they're loving each other. We don't

know if it's going to go on. Well, we do know.

But I mean, it's one of those things where at

the time. That this is taking place within the

universe. We don't know what's going to happen

with them. We just know that they want to be

together. And now all these previous girlfriends

are like, well, he hurt us, so he's going to

hurt you at some point. So we're just trying

to prevent that from happening. And I'm like,

kidnapping him is not going to help. They think

it is, but it isn't. I guess you would know about

making mistakes, Corey Matthews. You made the

biggest one of all when you lied to Topanga.

Ooh. I never liked you, did I? No. Corey Matthews,

Exhibit A. All -around nice guy. If he can't

be trusted, can any man be trusted? You know

what? We all make mistakes, okay? But that's

all right, because love doesn't require you to

be perfect. But it does require you to forgive.

Why don't you tell that to our surprise witness?

Topanga! What are you doing here? They wanted

to know if I could ever trust you after what

you've done. I heard what you said, and it was

beautiful. Listen, I'm so glad you're here, okay?

I'm so sorry about this whole thing. Let's just

pretend it never happened. I wish it never happened,

too. Good. Then let's go to Chubby's, okay? We'll

pretend it's our first date again. We'll start

all over. Corey, I don't want to have to start

all over. I'm just so disappointed in you. And

they think that they're going to change him,

but... Hey, hey. I want to talk to you. Sean,

I don't care what these girls think. But they're

right. I have always wanted to feel for somebody

what Corey feels for Topanga. So I made promises

that I couldn't keep. And I said things that

I wanted to feel. And I kissed you like I loved

you. Look, I'm sorry if I hurt any of you. I

didn't mean to. But I care about you too much

to do that to you. I want to change our relationship.

Because I think you have to be friends before

you can fall in love. You want to be my friend?

That's where I want to start. And where do you

want to end up? I don't want to end up saying

things that I don't mean. And I don't want to

end up making a promise that I can't keep. Not

to you. Why not to me? I don't want to say. Because

you care about me? I'm not talking. What are

you doing tonight? Nothing. You want to hang

out? Yeah. Good. Men and women both change over

time in certain ways, but you can't force that

to happen. Like, you can't force anyone, any

person, man, woman, or otherwise. To immediately

conform to what you think a relationship, you

as in the general, I'm not saying you, the co

-host of this podcast, I'm saying. It's not going

to be the way that it seems like it should be

in every single movie. The way relationships

are supposed to work is that you support each

other, you talk to each other, you. Figure things

out together. You don't have this. I'm probably

the last person on this earth that Karen ever

thought she was going to end up with. Because

she had feelings of that she would be with somebody

else at some point or another. This is before

we met, obviously, but she was telling me that

in her past, she never thought she would be with.

Somebody like me as far as like my personality

and the geekiness and the this and the that and

the whatever. You know what? Strange things happen

when people fall in love. And the fact that these

exes have this misguided notion that Sean is

going to intentionally hurt Angela like they

feel like he intentionally hurt them. And his

side of it, as I said earlier, is. It's high

school. High school is temporary. High school

is not the rest of our lives. Sometimes true

love happens in high school, but not often. I

like the episode. I think it's a good one. And

it did get a lot deeper than I thought it was

going to. A lot of them did. Yeah, and that's

good. that shows, you know, shows that this show

is really reaching into a lot of these issues

and these things that happen to people of this

age. Up next is episode 16, Torn Between Two

Lovers, parentheses, Feeling Like a Fool. Corey

is torn between making up with Topanga or allowing

himself to see how it would be to go out with

Lauren. After he goes on a date with Lauren,

he decides that he can't live without Topanga,

but she decides she can't see him anymore. Meanwhile,

Mr. Feeney entrusts Eric to be a substitute teacher

for his citizenship class. You and Topanga can't

be apart like this. It's giving me a heart attack.

Sean, I didn't even do anything, okay? I meet

one other girl, I talk to her, and I get a little

thank you note. Corey, she wrote you the most

passionate love letter I've ever read that didn't

start with Dear Sean. I can't control what another

person puts in a letter, Sean. Now, Topanga knows

that. Okay. Okay. It's been rainy for seven days.

How do you explain that? Warm air meets a low

pressure system? Wrong. It's rainy because God

is crying. And he's crying because he created

you and Topanga to be the role model of the perfect

couple for the entire universe. You know, Sean,

Topanga's angry at me. What are you so upset

about? Because, you know, someday, after a slew

of meaningless relationships, It's possible that

I'm going to want what you have. Now, how can

I want what you have if you don't have it? I

want you to still have it. Sean, I didn't do

anything, okay? I fell off a bus. I sat on a

couch. I talked to some girl. I didn't write

that letter, and she kissed me. Corey, a guy

can do no better than Topeka Lawrence. Yeah,

I know that. Then be at Chubby's after school.

All right, let's get the Eric Feeney citizenship

class out of the way first, because that was

the comedy here. I did like how he just threw

out the test and tested them on other items and

kind of turned it into his own test. Yeah. But

it was in a good way. He had good intentions,

but by throwing out the test, he was able to

make it more authentic. Yeah. And Mr. Feeney

is like, pass out the tests and the pencils.

That's it, Mr. Matthews. But Mr. Feeney, look,

they still learned what they were supposed to

learn, but they did it through experience versus

questions and answers on a test. And Feeney's

point is, yes, but we need this paperwork for

them to be able to become citizens. And we're

like, oh, geez. The other side of this is the

Corey Topanga -Lauren situation. He lied to me.

He lied to me about staying up all night with

Lauren. Strike one. All they did was talk. He

lied to me about kissing her. Strike two. All

they did was talk and kiss. I read the letter,

Sean. She's crazy about it. Because she knows

what you know, Topanga, a girl can do no better

than Corey Matthews. You're a good friend, Sean,

and... I think it's great what you're trying

to do for Corey, but... I'm not just doing this

for Corey. What? You're my friend, Panga. You're

one of the two best people I know. Who's first?

He is. But you and me are the two best things

in his life. Who's first? You are. And I love

what, uh, what... What Corey and Sean say kind

of in the beginning that, hello, don't you know?

Corey and Topanga are the couple. I want what

you have, and if you don't have it, how can I

want it? I love the way Sean phrases that in

this episode. But it's true. No, absolutely.

How can Sean have what Corey wants if Corey doesn't

have it? So, yeah, absolutely. And then this

is, I believe, I could be wrong. Most likely

I'm probably wrong. But I believe this is the

first time Sean calls any character Yoko. And

he says it to Lauren when she shows up. Yoko

shows up and Corey needed to see her. And I love

this. And I don't know. I kind of love it, but

I'm kind of on the fence about it where. Topanga

tells him to go and figure that they're not back

together yet. But this is this is one of those

funny mind games where you're supposed to be

able to read her mind. Yeah. And. It never stops

the reading the mind reading thing. No, it doesn't.

Because you're always supposed to read the mind.

But sometimes it comes. you know, the obvious

answer comes out, but, uh, but yeah, it's, it's

a test, but they're not even together. That's

which makes it worse. Yeah. See, that's the thing.

Like, so like if you're, if you're with them

and it's the test, that's different, but I like,

because it's a trap. Yeah. It's a trap. I like

how this episode and the next episode, or is

it the, yeah, it's this episode, and I think

it's episode, I don't know, 19 or 20, or it's

one of them, because the next time Topanga sees

a guy, like, Corey is already, obviously, this

episode we're talking about now, episode 16 has

already happened. So he's already gone out with

Lauren and he's already disappointed Topanga

or whatever. She ends up seeing somebody who

ends up kissing her and yada, yada, yada. But

that puts her on the path of where Corey needed

to, or maybe it was just Lauren that needed to

figure out how she felt about Corey. And maybe

he needed to figure out how he felt about her,

which is where. We get Corey and Sean and the

jelly bean scene, which is great. I love that.

And it's funny because, you know, the whole the

whole episode is kind of navigating that point

in time when, you know, as a teenager, your brain

does not work. No. And you don't know what you

want. Right. And so. I had a good time. Corey,

you're soaking wet. I went out with Lauren. We

had fun. I had fun with a girl who isn't a panga.

You got a tough choice to make here. We are going

to decide this scientifically. Hand me those

jelly beans over there. First off, personality.

Which girl makes you laugh? We're not going to

decide the rest of my life with jelly beans,

Sean. Then who is going to decide the rest of

your life, Corey? You? Okay, but don't use the

red ones. I want to eat those. It's him methodically

working through how much she means to him. Yeah.

And yes, the situation was unfortunate because,

you know, they are broken up and, you know, he

realizes it kind of too little too late. yeah

but it's also one of those you know he didn't

know what he was missing until it was gone and

yeah um while he had fun with lauren and liked

her a lot and everybody else did too yeah he

knew deep down that that wasn't who he was supposed

to be with yeah yeah it was a point of him realizing

that I can't live without Topanga is my other

half. I may have found her when I was two years

old or on the monkey bars or wherever, whatever

origin story they have, because the origin story

has changed. They even pointed out in one of

these episodes where it's like, you guys met

when you were two? I thought you met on the monkey

bars when you were five. It's a whole thing,

but... It is what it is. So, yeah, we finally

figure out that Corey is destined for Topanga.

But there's nothing like being inside Lauren's

jacket. What? Just pour the beans. It's a tie.

You like Lauren as much as you like Topanga,

and you can't live without either of them. Maybe

this was a bad idea. No. No, this was a good

idea. Sean, yeah. I like Lauren. I like spending

time with her. But I can live without her. I

can't live without Topanga. It's no contest.

We get to episode 17. And this is... The Scream...

How people think this is the most popular episode

of the series is beyond me, because it's just

a parody of Scream. I know what you did last

summer, South Park, Scooby -Doo, and then there

were none. I don't like this episode at all.

It does nothing for these characters. The only

thing it does for these characters is... What

Sean says in the beginning before the whole parody

starts. Hey, what are you doing in my seat? Well,

the wife and I aren't together anymore, and I

figured it would be safer if I had a buffer.

This breakup is now having severe ramifications

on me. Ooh, ramifications. Nice word, Jughead.

You see, now Feeny knows I'm in the class. It's

just logistic, Sean. Listen, if I sit in that

seat, I can still smell her hair, hear her breathe.

Watch her sweater go up when she raises her hand.

Oh, okay. I'll sit here. But I'm only between

you two, okay? I'm not in the middle of you.

Hey, Topanga, can I borrow your big pencil? They're

not divorced, Kenny. It's just a trial separation.

Don't think I don't know what borrow a pencil

means, okay? Nobody. Nobody's borrowed more pencils

than Sean Hunter. Thanks for not getting in the

middle of this. He was just asking for a pencil.

I know what he was asking for. And if he asks

again, I'll stab that big pencil through his

heart. You hear me, Kenny? Why is Sean so obsessed

with you two? I don't know, but he's almost taking

it harder than me and Corey. We'll return to

the young and the restless right after this word

concludes. And here is the word. Shut up. It

turns into a parody, and I don't like it. At

all. Yeah. I have to be honest, I don't really

care for these episodes when they start doing

this. Yeah. This is the second time that Wilfred

Allen and Jennifer Love Hewitt starred together

after Charge and War. Also, Jack makes a reference

to Party of Five, in which Jennifer Love Hewitt

played Sarah Reeves. Well, it's funny, because

in this, they call her Jennifer Love Pfefferman.

Yep. So I don't know. I didn't mind the casting

of her. I actually liked her being in it. But

yeah, but I don't like one. I never cared for

the Halloween episodes or the episodes where

they kind of go back into a different time or

it's a dream sequence. Yeah. Looking back now,

like I enjoy writing those like the dream sequences,

but. because you can kind of be goofy with it.

So I kind of understand from a writer's standpoint

what they were going for, like just something

fun to kind of break it up and to put them in

situations that they might not ever, ever, ever,

ever go to. But yeah, it's not an episode I really

like. I don't mind the time travel -y ones, but

even though those are just as ridiculous. Yeah,

but at least the time travel one was, like...

It serves a purpose. It serves a purpose because

it was previous characterizations of the characters

we know. Corey, Sean, Topanga, etc., Mr. Feeny,

whatever. This feels like it should just be on

the end of the season as, like, here's a... Because

look at this. You have episode 16, torn between

two lovers, feeling like a fool. where Corey

is torn between making up with Topanga or allowing

himself to see how it would be to go out with

Lauren. Episode 18, if you can't be with the

one you love, depressed by his breakup with Topanga,

Corey gets a reputation of being a downer, which

he tries to shake off by drinking and partying.

And then there was Sean, episode 17. splits up

the story like it interrupts it's like interrupting

cow or whatever you know what i mean it's like

one of those radio gags where i'm talking or

you're talking or optimus solo somebody's talking

and one of the other hosts is like interrupting

cow like just out of you know you know what i

mean it's it's yeah It's jarring and it's one

of those things where as much as I'm OK with

a parody episode, don't interrupt my story. To

try to make me laugh when the story is affecting

me in ways that I didn't think it would. You

know what I mean? Don't do that. Yeah. Wrong.

Wrong. Put this as episode 24. Have. Episode

16 be episode 16, have episode 18 be episode

17, and so on and so forth down the line. But

yeah, episode 17, I could do without it. Episode

18, though, if you can't be with the one you

love. When Sean catches Corey in the act, he

convinces Sean to try it as well with the disastrous

results. In addition, Sean discovers why Jack's

mother left their father. Guest stars Vanessa

Evigan as Kimberly, Mike Bate as Transient, Max

Miller as Kid. This episode was held back from

Disney Channel airings because of mature content.

Will Friedle as Eric, Lindsay Ridgway as Morgan

are absent. So I believe I've said on other podcasts

that you and I have done, I believe I've told

the story that has happened to me in the last

two years. In 2021, Karen, my lovely wife of,

what was that, four and a half years at the time?

Yeah, because we're about to... It's about to

be six years since we met in August. Her liver

and kidneys failed. She, at the time, could not

shut her brain off in order to go to sleep. So

she would use alcohol to be able to get sleep.

And we tried and we went to doctors and we asked

them for all kinds of actual medication help.

Nothing would ever be done. They wouldn't really

do anything for her at all. And so she did that.

And at the time that she passed, she was six

months sober. And like I said, unexpectedly,

we were still in the middle of COVID and all

that stuff and everything else. Kidneys failed

and then her liver failed and then she was gone.

So things like episode 18 of season five really

affect me because I have never been a drinker.

I have had alcohol in the past, but I just any

alcohol doesn't matter if it's beer, wine. the

harder stuff hell even zima with jolly ranchers

it just doesn't i just don't like the taste of

it it's just not for me same that's the way i

approach alcohol i don't approach it as oh my

god it's evil it's the devil it's you know all

that it's just i don't like the taste of it and

that's pretty much where I'm not going to sit

here and judge people who drink. If you want

to drink and you can drink responsibly, fine.

Whatever. That's your life choice. It has no

effect on me. I hope that anyone that does drink

does do it responsibly and doesn't overdo it

because I hate seeing stories of friends or people

that I've known that something has happened to

them because of alcohol. So this episode, as

much as I remember seeing it years ago when it

aired, as much as I remember seeing it a few

years ago on the DVD set and everything else,

this really did. Now it's like, oh, crap. And

we also have, obviously, the peer pressure and

the fact that Corey's the one that starts this.

And Alan and Amy feel like it's Sean's influence

and Corey's like, no, I did this. This is something

I did. The only funny line in this entire episode

is when they're peeing on the cop car or Corey

is peeing on the cop car and the cops actually

show up. He says, oh, no, it's Sipowitz. It's

a NYPD Blue reference to Dennis Friends' character

Andy Sipowitz from ABC show NYPD Blue at the

time, back in the 90s. And Corey stands up for

his actions, like I just said, even though Alan

thinks it was Sean. And I love that Alan apologizes

to Sean. And then the sadness continues because

even though Sean is drinking still, the way that

he interacts with Angela, like, that's deep.

I don't like you when you drink. You know what

I mean? Like, that is like, holy crap. This girl

that I just met that I have all these feelings

for and that I would love to be able to be in

love with for however long we're going to be

in love. She's showing me that she doesn't like

me like this, so something has to change or whatever.

And then you get Sean and Alan's conversation,

which was, this is the best episode of season

five, I think. Yeah, the drinking ones were definitely

the ones that didn't resonate with me. Yeah.

But it's still it's one of those like really,

really tough topics. Yeah. And you're seeing

characters and these are even though the situations

you normally would not. Right. And even though

these are fictional characters and it's a story

and it's it's a thing of. television fiction

it's a real life issue that could happen to anyone

and that's to me what makes it the most powerful

episode of this season regardless whether anyone

can relate to it or not I do more than you do

because I've gone through things dealing with

alcoholism it's so damn good it's good in a way

that we, again, it's another one of those things

we didn't know we needed it kind of thing. And

as much as we hate seeing the characters go down

this path, having them go down this path and

learning this about themselves and having Sean

and Jack really connect over this with their

family issues and all of that. makes the show

better as we go forward throughout the rest of

the season and the next two seasons that we'll

end up doing for this podcast. And then Eric

goes to Hollywood. What do you think about Eric

going to Hollywood? It was goofy. But it also

showed another side of show business, which is

very real. And I like the fact that Feeney was

kind of going along for the ride with him. And

Eric let everything go to his head. And then

I love the play on words of how they were trying

to roundabout make it sound like Boy Meets World.

Yeah, Kid Meets World or whatever it was. No,

it was Kid Gets Acquainted With Universe. Oh,

that's what it is. And then Ben Sandwich and

Schneider. Yeah, Schneider. Matt Fraser. Yeah,

that's funny. Yeah. Ben's sandwich. Oh, boy.

Yeah, I do love the ending of the episode where

Eric just kind of goes off and it's Will Friedle

going off and Sean comes in and is like, oh,

what happened? Will get mad again? Yep. And just

from listening to I Hear Voices and Pod Meets

World, the podcast that Will Friedle does with

Christy Carlson Romano and Danielle Fishel and

Ryder Strong, respectively, I know Will Friedle

is not... It's a character acting thing that

he did in this episode. He himself is very humble.

I've never heard... You don't see Will Friedle

on Hollywood Reporter or whatever grocery store

tabloid, you know, you want to insert here kind

of thing. I do think it's funny the quote at

the end. Because he goes, that's not the line.

What? The line was, honey, I shrunk the tube

socks. Oh, I know. I'm sorry, Will. I was just

trying something new. Oh, yeah, we're just trying

something new, huh? Yeah, well, why don't you

try this? Throws laundry at him. Uh -huh. Yeah.

Is this new? Does this look new to you? I think

it's funny, though. Yeah. Ryder at the end. Hey,

banana boy, want to be a star? Yeah, that's hilarious.

So good. And then we have the final four episodes

of the season. We have Starry Night, where a

once -in -a -lifetime Van Gogh retrospective

makes Corey blue. He stood in line all night

to get tickets for himself and Topanga, but she

has gone with Angela instead and met a terrific,

intelligent, and sensitive guy, Ricky Ferris.

who claims she has already changed his life once

by beating him in softball and convincing him

to give up sports for art. Spends all day with

her looking at Van Gogh's The Starry Night and

asks for dinner date with her. Corey remains

adamant that he will love Topanga forever and

that kissing Lauren meant nothing to him. Where

she goes to Angela and I love this scene. She

goes, Angela, I kissed him and do you know what

I felt? And Angela's like, I can pretty much

fit in. I felt nothing. When Ricky kissed me,

I felt nothing. I called him today and I said

I can never see him again because, Angela, I

am off the market. I am taken. Topanga Lawrence

is in love with Corey Matthews and it is forever.

I love this episode. Yep. It's so good. So, so

good. Absolutely love it. It's such a nice, nice

episode. Honesty Night, episode 21, they reconcile.

But they pretend to be estranged because Corey

forgot to tell Sean first. Okay. You and I have

been best friends for 15 years. Yeah, late 2008.

So, yeah, so 15 years. We usually tell each other

almost everything most of the time, but it's

not like we're constantly in each other's email

or on each other's phones. It's not like we're...

Like if I post on Facebook or Twitter first and

either you don't see it or whatever and I end

up telling you before we record a podcast, it's

not like you're going to freak out and go off

the handle because you weren't the first. I like

that they make this part of Corey and Sean's

relationship, but also I find it super – like

we were talking about episodes that are silly

earlier. I find this super silly, but I like

where it leads to having Sean or having Corey

and Topanga fake it. I think the faking of it,

I think, is hilarious because, sadly, the faking

of it leads to more issues with Corey and Topanga.

You know, what did you call her? Cold and unforgiving

or. whatever, and she called him insensitive

jerk, and let's face it, Corey Matthews is one

of the most sensitive people you'll ever find

in television. Yeah, Honesty Night, I really

dig it. And... So they insult each other, break

up again, it's finally up to Sean with an assist

from Corey's parents to set things straight once

and for all. Again. Even though faking it got

to the point of them being more real and more

emotional of breaking up again, I like how that

leads to really having Sean put them back together.

That was good. Yeah. The parents. I love Amy

and Alan. I love them so much. They're so great.

Where they're arguing and arguing and arguing,

and he's like, oh, well, I'll be sure to forget

June 14th. And she just starts laughing. She's

like, June 14th? Well, you think it's funny that

I would forget? It's your birthday, you moron.

Oh, God. It's hilarious. So good. And then episode

22, we get, it's a big night, senior prom, and

Sean and Corey plan to leave as boys and come

back as men. Oh, boy. Uh -huh. This episode,

you want to, what are you thinking here? No,

you go first. All right. Well, oh, boy. Season

5, episode 22, Promises, Promises, is not just

about Sean Corey and prom night with Angela and

Topanga. This is why I love this show. It's not

just focused on the kids. It's also focused on

the adults. Because Amy is upset of how Alan

reacts to her recent good news. She's pregnant

with their fourth child. Oh, boy. And then, to

make up for it, Alan decides to check them into

a hotel, the same one where the prom is being

held. and Corey and Alan put both their key cards

on the ice machine, and they each pick up the

other one's key card, and we almost have some

really, really bad situations on our hands. Yeah.

That has never happened to me, thank God. Well,

this is what's funny. My prom? Didn't do that.

They didn't. Well, my prom sucked. Like, to be

honest, we went like I took Mary to it. Like

we went out to eat with some friends all dressed

up and everything. Went to prom. It was boring.

And they had literally for like the dance floor.

Nobody was dancing. Right. It was like a 10 by

10 square. Oh, my God. That was it. And then

everybody was sitting there going, well, this

sucks. And then so I was sitting there with Mary

and there were the other people sitting there

like that I was friends with. And I was like.

You want to leave? And she's like, yeah, we're

like, it's boring. So so we left there and we

went to they had an expo. Mm hmm. that was going

on that week and, or those last three, four days

or something. And it, we went, it was dead. There

was not, there was like maybe five people there.

And all of the poor carnies were like, just bored

out of their mind. And we were, we went and she's

like in her prom dress. I'm in a suit. And we

went and, uh, uh, I pulled up and I was like,

well let's go have some fun here and so we went

to go ride some rides and stuff wearing like

our you know yeah yeah and the carnies took pity

on us they were like and i think they liked the

fact that we just showed up right and they were

like hey do you want to ride this for free that's

awesome and so we rode all the rides for free

that night and i i mean granted i was broke Right.

I had no money. Um, and we, uh, I mean, especially

after buying dinner and, and then, uh, you know,

everything else, cause I had that truck and it

would fall apart. Uh, but we, we, yeah, we got

to a station and they had, they would take your

picture and print it on a, on a, uh, t -shirt.

Right. And we both like they were trying to sell

us on two. And I was playing hardball with them.

OK, because my like bartering because my dad

taught me that trick. And then so I got I got

two shirts for 30 bucks or something printed.

Nice. They were wanting like 50 or something

originally. And I was like, yeah, that's not

happening. Yeah, exactly. I'm like, all I got

is 30 bucks. And he's like, I'll do it. And so

they printed them and we had them for like the

longest time. I think we had it until like Ian

was like four, like one of them. Oh, wow. That's

cool. But like the first one, I think it got

ruined. We we lived in a condo years ago and

the ceiling burst and it flooded the basement.

Oh, so one of them because we had him framed.

Right. One of them got completely like waterlogged

and molded and we, before we could find it and

know about it. So we had to throw that one out.

So the other one was still good for years and

then it started kind of just decaying on its

own. So we ended up throwing that one out, but

it was, it was still, uh, it was just neat getting

to go like have a carnival. And then we went

and had like a slow dance with the truck, uh,

radio going. And then I took her home. Like it

was just, And it was fun, like just. I think

that was like the difference in like some of

this, like here, they're they're clearly there's

an objective. Yeah. And like us, we were just

like, let's just go have fun. Like we were like,

go to the carnival, go to blah, blah, blah. Like

we didn't, you know, just having fun exploring

places like that was just. You know, if it lasts,

that's, you know, you'll end up in that boat

anyway, but. Yeah. But yeah, I mean, it's kind

of funny because I look at like the Corey Topanga

situation here and I'm like, oh, that's, you

know, I've been with Mary a long time, too. Yep.

So my prom story is kind of interesting. When

I went to high school, I ended up in multiple

schools, but the school I was going to graduate

from, Southern High School Magnet Career Academy

in Louisville, Kentucky, I was there from 1998

to 1999. In 1998, that was our junior year, and

that was the year we were going to get our rings

and everything else for for being becoming eventually

becoming seniors and all that and and everything

else and i was on the prom committee i was the

only i don't know why none of the other guys

in the school wanted to do this but i was the

only guy with i think let's see there there was

michelle jennifer julie brooke Like five, six,

seven other girls, I was the only guy that was

on the prom committee for junior prom. And we

all decided on the colors. We all decided on

the theme. Casey and JoJo's All My Life was our

theme song at the time because that was the hit

kind of R &B type song at the time. And, yeah,

I went and I saw the – I went solo because I

wasn't seeing anybody or anything like that.

But, you know. I always end up going to dances

solo, which is fine because I don't dance. I

have three left feet. But the fact that I can

say I was the only guy on the prom committee

of like five, six, or seven other girls, and

we all made the decisions, and we all did this,

and we all did that, and we all put it together,

it was great. That was junior prom, 1998. And

then senior prom, I skipped it. Because it wasn't

in the... And this is so stupid, but the junior

prom was at the Holiday Inn Lakeview in southern

Indiana, and the school is just across the river

in Louisville, Kentucky. But the Holiday Inn

Lakeview, the ballroom that they had there was

just the right style, the right size, the right

whatever. The senior prom was held at... the

infamous Seelbach Hotel in downtown Louisville.

And I love the Seelbach. It's great. It's fine.

It's whatever. But I wasn't on the senior prom

committee, so I didn't really care about going

because I had no input on the production of the

whole damn thing. So that's my prom story. Oh,

boy. And yeah. And so we have the whole Alan

and Amy thing and everything else. And Corey

and Topanga decide they aren't really ready for

the potential consequences and decide to wait

to seal the deal and all that good stuff with

boyfriend, girlfriend, lovers that are supposed

to be together for the rest of their lives. Also,

this episode was held back from Disney Channel

airings due to mature content. I get it, Disney,

but come on. Promises Promises is an episode

of a show that has given us life lessons for

five and a half seasons. That's essentially a

30 -minute sex ed thing. That could be a teaching

tool Disney Channel, but apparently it is what

it is. They don't believe in teaching tools.

No, apparently not. Not unless there's certain

celebrities or ex -presidential people giving

them healthy... I was going to make an off -color

joke, but I decided to refrain. it's a good thing

I keep these podcasts explicit no matter what

yeah I'm in the public eye I have to be nice

yes yes so episode 23 and 24 I love them both

and things change is episode 23 And Corey is

distressed when he realizes that his entire world

is changing around him. Sean considers not going

to college. Topanga considers going to Yale.

Chubbies is reformed as Peg Leg Pete's. And Mr.

Feeney intends to retire and move to Wyoming.

The anxiously awaited college acceptance letters

have finally arrived, but Corey, who expects

his longtime friends will want to continue as

classmates, finds that everything cannot always

go according to his plan. It's the end of high

school, and best friends are not always going

to, like, you're going to stay best friends,

but that's the whole point of getting through

high school. You go off into the real world and,

yeah, sometimes you can finagle it to be where

everybody is together. And I love the instantaneous

change of Chubby's. Like, they're standing there.

They remove the booths. They put in the peg -legged

pirate Pete booths. Like, you can't just change

this in an instant. Snap your fingers. Boom.

Done. The more things change, the more they stay

the same. Things always change. Situations always

change. And this is a situation of where each

of these individuals is deciding what they want

to do with their lives. Like, Topanga's always

wanted to go to Yale. Sean finds out that he's

better at doing a job. Even though he's only

an assistant, but like they even joke about how

someday he could be his boss's boss because he's

doing such a good. Again, this is kind of the

beginning of Sean Hunter photographer. And this

is why I like this is because we know him now

as Sean Hunter, the photographer that goes, you

know, across the globe. He's a globe trotting.

They even have an episode, I think, in season

six or seven about, you know, 20 years in the

future that Feeney has retired and Sean and Angela

have gone their separate ways. But they they

still will get to that episode when we get to

it. But but yeah, what did you think of this

one? I mean. It's just kind of true. I mean,

everything does change. Yep. Yep, yep, yep. The

last couple of months I've had to change a few

co -hosts in the pullback. Actually, as of this

recording, I just recorded a new episode of the

pullback, episode 525, because this podcast will

be out before that one is, where Joe Reed, who

usually does the Turtles books with me, joined

me for Radiant Black. I think I asked you at

some point, but I don't think you were that interested,

which is fine. It's no big deal. So I asked Joe

and I told him about it and I shared all the

stuff that I knew about it and whatever else.

And so Joe and I are going to go through that.

But originally I had two other hosts on there

with me that we did original single issue episodes

two years ago when the series started. And that

can't happen anymore. And it sucks. I'm one of

those. I'm one of those loyal dogs when it comes

to podcasts where it's like if I start something

with you, I finish it with you. I don't want

to have to – I never want to replace anyone kind

of thing, but as we see in this episode and as

we see in life, things change. I like the way

this episode went. I like the way that it – sets

up what's going to, you know, happen with a lot

of these characters. And then it's the end of

an era as Corey... Let me redo that. And then

it's the end of an era as Corey, Sean, Topanga,

Angela, and the rest of their class, the class

of 1998, prepare to graduate. In the final week,

Mr. Feeney assigns the class to write about what

it is in their hearts. While Sean ignores the

assignment at first, seeing as high school is

now over, he comes to realize that his school

days meant more to him than he realizes. Meanwhile,

Topanga wrestles with going to Yale or staying

with Corey. Corey tries to hide his lying eyes

and convince Topanga that he wants her to go

away to Yale. And Sean surprises everyone with

his indifference towards graduation. Corey and

Sean and Topanga reunite with their old classmate,

Stuart Minkus. Minkus returns, finally. Eric

tries to keep Mr. Feeney from retiring. That

was funny. Him and that damn grappling hook.

Oh, Eric, you dummy. And Topanga slyly steals

the valedictorian position from Sminkus and shocks

Corey by proposing to him. I don't know, because

I don't remember what was going on back then,

and the internet was only just starting, so we

didn't really have everything we have on the

internet today. This felt like... If the series

was going to end, I wouldn't want it to end on

this cliffhanger, but this feels like a series

ending episode. Oh yeah, for sure. It really

does. And it's so good. Absolutely love it. Thoughts,

sir? I don't know. I really liked how they ended

it. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, Eric. And where in Boy Meets

World, I forget when this happens, but, like,

Eric is older than Kory, Sean, and Topanga. Eric

should have already graduated. like he's special

yeah i know i know but like something happened

within this show i think we've kind of talked

about it i know i've heard other people talk

about it where they kind of like finagle eric

to also be in cory's class or close to be like

maybe he's a year older but he's a it seems like

he's at least two or three years older than I

don't know. It's a whole thing, folks. It's a

Boy Meets World mystery, I guess. Listen to Pod

Meets World. Maybe Danielle and Will and Ryder

talk about it. But between Sean's paper and Topanga's

question, what an ending to a season. Oh, yeah.

Totally. There wasn't anything I really, I mean,

overall, there wasn't anything I really disliked

out of this. So many life lessons in this one

between the drinking episode and all the relationship

stuff with Lauren and Topanga and Sean and Angela.

Season five, I hardly knew you. Seems like we

just started season five, even though I think

episode. Part one of season five, I think we

did back in like February of 2022, I think. This

podcast has gone on forever, folks. Started it

in 2016 thinking, oh, well, we'll get to the

20th anniversary of Boy Meets World and we'll

do this and then life happens and that's just

the way stuff happens. Any final thoughts about

characters or story arcs or things that happened

in season five overall from you, sir? I don't

think so. What would you rate season five zero

to five? I'd probably give it a three and a half

because there's a lot of ups and downs in it.

But I don't know. Borderline four, just because

there's some with really strong. storylines in

it yeah i'm right there with you three and a

half almost a four because as i said if if certain

episodes were not where they are and they were

other like the the the parody episode if the

parody episode wasn't where it is even though

it is where it is you know that would make it

better that would get it a higher rating for

me but yeah I'm cool with three and a half out

of five, and that's not a bad grade. I mean,

it is what it is. So it's pretty good. All right,

folks, we're going to take a quick ad break.

the host of Music Talks, the podcast where I

ask guests a simple but beguiling question. Choose

a song from each decade of your life and tell

me why these songs mean so much to you. Guests

and listeners love this format and if you want

to find out why, then take a listen at musictalkspod

.buzzsprout .com or use your favourite podcast

app. Just search on Musictalks Terry Smith. If

you'd like to be a guest on the show and talk

to me until the night is over then send me a

tweet at musictalkspod. I look forward to doing

some music talking soon. So you like this guy,

huh? I'm in love with him. I knew it the minute

I kissed him. So, Panga, you're coming off a

long relationship and you're vulnerable right

now. And you shouldn't rush into something because

of one kiss from some gorgeous, perfect guy.

It was just a kiss, wasn't it? That's all it

took. Do you know what I felt when he kissed

me? Yeah, I probably do. Nothing. What? I called

him today to let him know I can't ever see him

again. You did? Because I'm in love, Angela.

I don't mean high school I love you, I love you

too. I mean I am in love with Corey Matthews.

And I want to be. There's nobody else in the

world for me and there never will be. I'm taken.

On the Simplistic Reviews podcast, we talk movies.

We talk TV. We talk... Hello, Julie, what the

heck are you doing? Trying to make our spot sound

more exciting by adding explosions. Yeah, I'm

pretty sure you could have got the point across

with sound effects, not the real thing. Car,

car. Download the show on iTunes or at simplisticreviews

.blogspot .com. I'm sure your insurance company

will cover that. No, they won't. No, they probably

won't. What you doing up there? Well, I was hoping

I could sit up here and a beautiful girl would

help me down and we'd fall in love for the next

15 years It worked once I met this guy I went

back to look at that painting We talked all day

I wanted to see what you saw in it. We went out

on a date and he drew me a picture of some flowers.

And I spent a half an hour looking at it, trying

to understand it. And then he kissed me. But

I couldn't get it. Not by myself. But then I

remembered what you said. That God protects people

in their little homes. That they live their lives

and they come outside and they look up at the

sky and they know God's protection and love.

And that everything's going to be okay. But I'm

not like you, Topanga, that I can understand

those kind of things so fast. I need you to help

me. And I'm not like you that I understand that

you can kiss somebody and have it not mean anything.

That you can care about somebody so deeply that

nothing can change that. No matter how many times

you tried to tell me. But I understand now. It's

a beautiful painting. But it's just a painting.

We are real and you always understood that. I

love you. And I will always love you. Another

guy kissed you. Yeah. Want to do something about

it? I felt that, boy. So are we starting over?

Yeah. We are back here on Podcaster Meets World.

We are going to be preparing for season six as

we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Boy Meets

World here in 2023. Season six starts off with

his answer, part one, and then her answer, part

two. So that's going to be great to figure all

of that out. I'm scrolling through the episode

listing. Just to see if I remember any of these

based off, like I'm scrolling fairly fast, just

kind of seeing episode titles. And I don't remember

a lot of them. So season six is going to be interesting

for me to watch. I will probably have a lot more

season five here. But season six only has 22

episodes instead of 24. So we will do season

six episodes one through 12 and then 13 to 22.

So awesome. Very cool. Very cool. Any final thoughts

from you, sir? I don't think so. What is it that

you're looking forward to watching season six

again for the first time in a while? I'm not

entirely sure. All righty then. Thank you for

unless I have a really good reason not to. Well,

there isn't any good reason. Actually, there

is. Myra Zinkeman. What? Ladies and gentlemen,

the John Adams High School class of 1998. Will

you marry me? Boy Meets World guitar theme by

Gator the Bear, a .k .a. Sean Farron, used with

permission. This class will not be more interested

in the romantic goings -on of its students than

it is with whatever the hell I'm teaching. Matthews,

go sit on that side of the room. Lawrence, you

sit on this side. Right now. Let's go. Mr. Feeney,

you can't do that. You're contributing to the

furtherance of their apartments. I'm trying to

teach a class here. Now. Mr. Hunter, Nebraska.

Oh, don't try and change the subject. Quiet!

One more crazy interruption and all you nuts

are going into detention.
