The GeekCast Radio Network
Reflections on 3 Years Being Online:
Well our little network has reached it’s third year anniversary as of June 1, 2012. Here are Steve and Mike’s thoughts of the past three years.
Steve/Megatron:
Wow is all I have to say lol. 3 Years later and we’re still doing this. I never would have thought. Not to mention that but we’ve gotten to interview a TON of awesome people in the last 3 years. I am hoping we double that in the next year or two. Like Mike says below, most already know the story of GCRN which is also in the About page but it’s made this a labor of love and has helped connect us with various fandoms and people who love them as much as we do. With GCRN finally hitting the waves with Year 3, we are planning HUGE things in the coming months and year! There are some podcasts as always going on Seasonal hiatus, new shows starting, some as interim shows and some ongoing. But the mission remains the same which is to make this the Geek go to place and I hope we’re achieving that so far. I am always looking ahead…to the annoyance of some when it comes to the site LOL. I can’t help it though. This has brought me some great friends and fun that helps reinforce my personal fandoms like it does for you all. Anyhow enough of my dream sequence, onto the upcoming!
GCRN LIVE – Is the new project here. This will change and be altered as the year goes on and we get more disposable income coming from Ads and Sign-Ups to the Audible Free Trials. This is our endeavor to give you live shows, some we’ll ask for topics during the show and talk and some will be pre-conceived. It is yet to be determined if these will stay as a one shot show or also be recorded to podcast form. Depends on what response we get. It’s a new thing for us so please bare with the fact things maybe a little rocky on the start of it. In any case this will allow you all to participate in the chat room during the show. The actual LIVE page will display in the next week and be ready for viewing. I am still debating some design aspects. But let it be said that GCRN is powering into the future and some great new things are to come! Well that’s all from me, so on to the future of GCRN! Now lets move on to the reflections of…
TFG1Mike:
Everyone should know the story of how Steve and I started The GCRN by now. We’ve talked about it multiple times over the last three years. Holy crap it has been three years since we started the GeekCast Radio Network. In the last three years we have crafted multiple podcasts, some of which have ended, and tons that are yet to come. When I first even thought: “Hey I can Do a podcast.” I got some advice from a podcaster I had been listening to. He said, “Make sure it is a topic you are most passionate about, and that you really wanna take on the task of reviewing it.” Thanks Mike Sims from Earth-2.net. I’ve always been a big picture kinda thinker. The bigger the picture, the better the end product will be. As everyone knows Transformers was the property that launched us into podcasting. Steve had ATTF, and I had TFG1. OptimusSolo contacted me back in the TFG1 days, before ToonCast Classic even became a bright idea in my head. I think one of the first things OptimusSolo and I did was a part of TFG1 Podcast Episode 16: TFTM. Besides Steve, Kevin, and Michael, I’ve met some amazing friends in the last three years, because of podcasting. Between Mike Dodd, Steve Saylor, Mike Laidman, Laura Thomas, and David Denis from This Week in Geek, and two of the BEST YouTube reviewers ever, Spada The Baltmatrix and Optibotimus, I’d say that my circle of friends is amazing. Not to mention all the awesome hosts and friends that have been on GCRN throughout the last three years, like JT From Saskatoon, Sketch1984, and so many more. We have an amazing stable of podcast hosts.
I can’t believe how many celebrities I’ve talked to in the last three years, some multiple times. If you told me in the beginning of 2007 that I’d be chatting with nearly everyone on our Featured Guests page, I’d have laughed in your face. However it is true, I’ve been very blessed in being able to talk to a lot of really cool voice actors, writers, DVD producers, and musicians. I think that besides the great podcasts we produce here at GCRN, the interviews are what makes us unique. We go after some amazing talent, and they are all nice enough to give us some time out of their day. Every interview I’ve been a part of has been just an absolute joy.
We’ve come a long way in three years here at The GeekCast Radio Network. From the early days of using USB Headsets to now having professional mics. The produts we put out consistently are good. I’ve had an amazing time in the last three years talking about some of my favorite topics, TV Series, films, cartoons, and so much more. So here’s to the future of GCRN.

Closing Thoughts on Three Years:
Thank you to all the fans and friends whose lives we have touched in the last three years.
Well there ya have it folks. We have been going three years strong, and we don’t see an end in sight. We hope you stick with us, tell your friends about us, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY UNLEASH THE GEEK IN YOU!
