About this Episode

Steve marks the beginning of Project Altered Geek (episodes 171–200), diving into major personal shifts: a new media job, preparing his house for sale, and deliberately downsizing his geek collection. He discusses moving away from excessive swearing, rediscovering nostalgia with his kids through Legos and classic TV, and his honest assessment of streaming services—finding little reason to maintain multiple subscriptions beyond Netflix. The episode also covers Girl Meets World's cancellation, Bryan Cranston as Zordon in the new Power Rangers film, and the Star Wars Rebels mid-season trailer featuring Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul on Tatooine.

You're tuned in to Steve Megatron on Altered

Geek. Hello and welcome to Altered Geek. This

will be the start of a new era of Altered Geek.

So yes, the new year has come. It is gone. It

is 2017. So with that, there will be a slew of

new things here. First of all, you can get this

podcast at AlteredGeek .com. You can follow it

on Twitter at Altered Geek. You can follow myself

at SCP21. And this episode is kind of the beginning

of a new era for Altered Geek. I'm going to be

dubbing... episodes 171 to 200 project altered

geek and what that essentially will be is instead

of your typical news and uh uh conversation piece

based on on that stuff because i'm going to shy

away from some of the news uh some of the um

typical stuff that I've covered in the past on

this show. Um, I could take the low road and

go towards justice league and cover that in place

of Batman V Superman. However, I'm not going

to. Um, so yeah, with that said, um, some of

the things I plan on bringing to the show are,

uh, I'm still waiting on that Kickstarter. I

funded, uh, last January, um, which was, uh,

by the rights. And I should be getting my copy

of that. They've had a lot of production drama

going on with that. However, it should be getting

shipped to me fairly soon because I guess they

just got it in their warehouse last week. So

it's actually kind of awesome. So I will be using

that on a future episode of the show. with some

of my cohorts, whoever happens to be guest hosting.

There will be a return of a couple of hosts.

I will have, again, TFG1 Mike when he comes back

from the Great Warm West, known as California.

And then I soon will have Mike the Birdman Dodd

back from the Great White North or America Light

or America Junior. I don't even know where that

came from. Somebody dubbed it. Oh, yes, that

was from an interview we did. And then Mike Powers

should be making a return. Yes, the mics are

quite frequent. I also plan to bring in some

other hosts from time to time on this show. I

know I've said that in the past, but I kind of

want to diversify a little bit more. Because

I feel like... I've had, like I mentioned last

episode, and as you can tell, my spirits are

much higher right now. I don't have the stress

of school. It hasn't started back up for me yet.

I do have a side gig of websites, a podcast site

coming up in the next week or two that I will

be starting. And then, yep. So lately I've been

working on my house. getting it ready because,

as most of you know, I have a new job and I'm

going to have to put it up for sale. I've only

had this house for almost three years. It will

be three years by the time we move. Almost three

and a half years. And it's kind of unfortunate

because we've dumped so much money and time into

this place. I hate to leave. However, the opportunity

is too great to ignore and I had to jump at this.

I was to the point at my old job and while I

did enjoy everyone that I worked with I didn't

mind anybody I didn't like hate anybody or hate

the job or do anything too you know detrimental

to the job because I always treat my jobs with

you know the utmost respect because just like

I can leave whenever I want they can get rid

of me whenever they want so that's How I kind

of look at it. So in that regard, I was to the

point I was ready to leave. I'd been there 10

years. I didn't want to stay there anymore. And

I really wanted to get in media. So now that

I'm in media and I have my foot in the door,

I am much happier. Granted, I enjoy working from

my desk most days, but it's not a bad gig. I

don't mind it at all. It's a lot more in tune

with what I want to be doing and what I'm learning.

So yeah. So yeah, anyways, as far as the house

is concerned, I've learned quite a few things

over the last three years. Learned how to paint

a house properly. We've painted... every room

in the house except for one now at this point

and it's the basement bathroom that's next on

the list because uh when we moved in there was

a pipe issue because we were getting new nozzles

put in for the shower and so they had to cut

the ceiling open downstairs which is you know

the bathroom is on top of the bathroom so uh

i put a protective like more or less i created

a patch job that wasn't really a patch it was

a access panel however it was very shoddy and

then when the next person had to come in and

fix a pipe issue that the previous people set

up it they cut the hole bigger so the access

panel was no longer valid so from there i've

learned how to do drywall thanks to my brother

and then So now I've done that, mudded it, got

to get that all squared away so we can paint

that room. And then fixed quite a few issues,

done the roof, done the landscaping, done wiring.

I've done pretty much anything that I wasn't

experienced with before getting the house. And

so now it's been kind of a challenge to... prep

it for sale uh because we've put all this time

blood sweat and tears into it i don't really

want to leave it um and then i wonder if i'm

going to ever get something that's as nice as

what i have now if not better um so yeah it's

a little scary um but yeah i learned how to wire

ethernet through the through rooms i've learned

how to wire cable i learned how to um change

outlets i've learned how to install um ceiling

fans again i did it as a kid with my dad but

like i can't remember that so um but yeah so

i mean it's it's not hard stuff it's just learning

it um and then of course i've acquired so much

crap uh and as i mentioned i am going to be selling

a lot of my stuff i do have my comics sold um

i i do have Quite a bit of Batman memorabilia.

I have DVDs, Blu -rays I'm going to be getting

rid of. And a lot of other miscellaneous toys.

I've come to this point in my life and in my

geekdom that, much like this show, I feel like

I'm an altered geek. I'm altering myself in my

geekdom. And in that regard, I wonder how you

guys have altered yourselves in your geekdom.

Even if it's within the past three years, within

the past ten, I mean, I've changed significantly.

I used to be about getting as much crap as I

could store, and now with moving, I'm having

to cut it down to as little as possible. I've

managed to fit my desk and all of my collectibles

into two totes, which is near impossible. um

however i have managed it um so there is that

uh and and it's been a tough choice i had to

decide what i was going to part with and what

i wasn't what i was going to sell what i wasn't

um my my beast wars figures that i have remaining

um i'm not parting with just too much uh nostalgia

there to to part with them i still have my masterpiece

prime i still have my Combiner Wars Megatron

tank with the add -on, and then various Batman

figures. There's a couple of Lego creations that

I've had forever. So yeah, I mean, I've got quite

a few things still that I'm not parting with,

but being that these things have to sit in totes

for quite some time, it's made it harder to want

to keep certain things. yeah i've i've i've greatly

decided to condense and then of course i'm going

to be buying this new monitor which uh funny

enough we've we used to have well over i don't

know 1400 movies give or take um and my wife

and i uh as we've changed our lifestyle um because

as most of you know or you know have noticed

from uh whether it's tooncast beyonds 25 days

of christmas or this show i've kind of shied

away for from the uh from the swearing from the

kind of i i do get some off -color jokes still

from time to time that kind of just come out

taking me you know 10 years to learn how to do

this skill and now i'm like yeah i need to kind

of not do this um so there's that and then uh

You know, we've gone through these movies and

basically if they've got an extensive amount

of swearing in them, because neither my wife

nor I can really stomach it anymore. And when

I say extensive, I mean like content where it's,

you know, F, F, F, F, blah, blah, blah, blah,

blah. Like, I just, I can't stomach it anymore.

So I just, we got rid of all those. Those were

pretty much the first on our list. We got rid

of horror movies. We got rid of just a lot of

stuff like that. Some movies I had no problem

getting rid of because either A, I didn't remember

them because I didn't watch them in the first

place. Or B, I remember the movie too much. And

there's no point in me keeping it because...

Not only was it bad, but I just, I would never

watch it again anyhow. So, yeah. So that's that.

But, yeah, we've whittled our collection down

between trading and stuff and between the DVDs.

And some of it we've given away to family. Some

of it we've thrown out. Some of it we've traded

in, just kind of depended on what it was. So

yeah, I'd say my DVD collection is down to probably

like 200 items now. Maybe 300 from the 14, 1500

that we originally had. So it's quite a bit of

knocking down this list. And even some of the

TV shows I used to watch, I've cut down on a

lot of that over the last year because I just

realized that I'm run way too ragged between

social media, between being constantly on the

computer, whether it's work or this or just playing

a game. There's too much mentally going on between

all of these things to think. It just makes it

difficult for me. It's been a great purging.

I don't know if it's because I'm 30 now, I'm

just kind of weighing my life differently. I'm

kind of seeing more of the, I want to be there

more for my kids, I want to be there more mentally.

I've had a hard time remembering things because

I've been on overload. You know, whether it's

things my wife's told me or things that my kids

have told me, things that I've been told or I've

asked about or I just, my memory is shot because

the sheer overload of content. So I've been trying

to like really slim it down. And I know this

sounds like I'm really rambling and I'm kind

of like a little bit of a downer, but I'm actually

not. I'm actually in a good mood. I've had a

couple weeks of... It hasn't been that long since

I released an episode of the show, but I feel

like I've become refreshed. So I might start

doing a little bit more of these general kind

of geeky talk elements to the show. Not really

what we've been doing, but kind of a... kind

of a general like housekeeping on like the status

of geek uh in in our life in that regard um so

yeah that that that will definitely be something

that probably sticks around um so yeah some of

the fun things that that we've gotten into recently

are uh my kids have recently gotten um heavily

into legos which is spectacular for me because

i Still love playing with Legos. And it amazes

the kids when they see me build something. Especially

when they have pieces either A. I gave them or

B. that they had from kits they just got and

I'm able to whip up some random design and create

something out of nothing. And my oldest loves

that. and doesn't want to tear it apart he wants

to keep them as models like i do and then the

younger one has the duplo because he's still

at the stage where he puts toys in his mouth

and chews on them and we don't want him swallowing

the smaller legos so it's it's it's been fun

i've built anything from like robots to rockets

to dinosaurs to Whatever, basically, they want

me to build. And then they both get this, like,

OCD, like, mad when they can't put it back together.

Which is kind of funny. In and of itself. But,

yeah. And then something fun came along during

New Year's Eve. We were... My wife went to one

of her friends' house to kind of celebrate. And

was planning on being home later that night.

And then there was my two kids. I watched them

for the night. Yes, I babysat my kids. It sounds

so stupid when parents say that. They're my kids.

I watched my own kids. I put the younger one

to bed about 7 .30. Normally, they go to bed

at 7 because of either A, behavior issues, or

B, because the... Depending on how long or if

they took a nap, those kids are... It's like

watching... It's a train wreck if they don't

get a nap. So, I put the younger one to bed.

The older one I kept awake until 9 .30. Pretty

much let him do whatever. We built with Legos.

We built a puzzle. We built a puzzle that turned

into a board game, which was kind of cool. And

then I kept him up, which was kind of fun. I

probably could have kept him up later if I really

wanted to, but I still wanted to have time to

game before Mary got home. So I... put him to

bed about 9 30 but we built a giant lego duplo

robot um and then uh um i proceeded to let him

watch a show and we were gonna let him he wanted

to watch mickey mouse clubhouse and um he asked

if i watched something like that when i was a

kid and i said well no they didn't have this

show um at least in that iteration when i was

a kid so I showed him this old Winnie the Pooh

live action show that I just happened to find

on YouTube. And I pulled it up on my phone, and

it was called Welcome to Pooh Corner or something.

I kept wanting to call it something else, but

I ended up finding it. And he watched about two

minutes of it on my phone, and he says, I want

to watch that. And so I was like, oh, okay. So

I put it on the TV, and then he watched two episodes

of it, loved it, and still wants to watch it

all the time now, which is kind of a double -edged

sword because we don't want to watch a lot of

TV because it gets wound up so easily. But yeah,

it was kind of cool having nostalgia come and

hit me like that, but also give him a view of

what I grew up with on something that was...

you know age appropriate for him uh so yeah it

was it was really interesting though i i was

quite um pleased to see that and then you know

we hung out and then i played some battlefield

uh one uh with my dad my brother for about two

hours and then mary got home and then uh we sat

and watched the ball drop on tv and promptly

shut the tv off because I didn't want to watch

the rest of the garbage show that is the New

Year's Eve bash with Dick Clark that doesn't

have Dick Clark. And they're all, I don't know.

Yeah, that's just what I want to do, though,

is watch a bunch of pop stars sit there and run

their mouth. Oh, yeah, blah, blah, blah. This

is so great. Yeah, this is what I want. And,

you know, they're standing out there in the freezing

cold. really ridiculous clothes and I just I

can't stomach that garbage anymore. So anytime

I see stuff like that I just I have to shut it

off. So a couple of things that I've discovered

are to do with Hulu. And the funny thing about

Hulu is I've been getting a lot of shows from

Hulu following me on Twitter, which is kind of

weird and random at the same time. Because I

get no other TV shows that follow me. It's just

Hulu itself and then various TV shows that are

Hulu exclusive. Which is kind of cool when you

think about it. I would probably review them

if I find the time. At least the first episodes

on some of them. Because I'm not quite sure where

I want to go with that yet. Because some TV,

depending on the show, I may not want to watch

it. I'll give most a chance, but if the premise

is not something I would get into or think I

would enjoy at least the first episode, I probably

won't watch it. However, that being said, the

funny thing about Hulu now is you have to have

a subscription, which I will not pay for. I already

pay for Netflix. That's good enough for me. I

have basic cable channels. I don't really care

about Hulu's large gamut of stuff. Most of the

stuff I watch is on Netflix. It's old. It doesn't

bother me. Um, it's not like I'm a Netflix fanatic

or anything. I just, that's what I watch. Um,

if I don't have something I already own popped

in the DVD player. Um, but, uh, you can watch

Hulu for free though. If you go to Yahoo .com,

uh, which is, it's funny because, um, Yahoo has

Hulu, um, free in their thing so it's like yahoo

tv or something uh so you go to yahoo .com slash

tv and you can watch like uh some hulu provided

content um it's i don't understand the business

model behind it um but uh yeah it's it's just

kind of Or it's view .yahoo .com, I'm sorry.

But yeah, I don't understand the business model

behind it, but it features Hulu as their video

platform. But yeah, I mean, I would watch it

on there, and I'm probably going to watch some

of the shows on there just to kind of try them

out because I'm not going to pay for a trial

or a series of it. But it's kind of an interesting

thing in any way. But yeah, I mean, most of these

I watch directly from their website. Like Lethal

Weapon and Gotham, I watch from Fox .com. The

CW stuff, I watch from CW .com. NBC, I don't

think I watch really anything on there anymore

other than SNL. CBS, I watch like Big Bang Theory.

So I mean, it's not really most of the stuff.

I just don't watch the little bit of TV I do

have because it's not very much. So yeah, moving

on a little bit. One of the other things I want

to try and accomplish with this show is being

able to talk about a variety of things. And when

I mean a variety of things, I mean just things

that I normally would do on another show. So

that's another reason why I'm moving this podcast

off of Geekcast Radio. And it's not particularly

because of anybody there. It's just because I

want to do something a little bit different.

So, yeah. So expect me to talk more tech, more

random geekiness as the year goes on because

I'm going to be learning quite a few new things

and playing around with quite a few new things.

I should be, I hope to get this new monitor soon

because I'd really like to talk about that because

I'm going to be going from a 19 -inch monitor

to a 27 -inch monitor, which is going to be a

huge difference when I'm editing. And when I'm

playing games. So there is that. The other thing

is I'm going to try and set up like a dedicated

green screen to an effect. I'm just going to

figure out how I'm going to do that. Because

I'd like to filter out all the crap stacked up

behind me when I play or I do YouTube. So there

is that too. I don't know. This episode is kind

of more of an update on things. And as far as

some of the other stuff, like I got rid of an

entertainment center. I'm getting rid of my Nintendo

Wii finally, which has been collecting dust for

about eight months. It kind of sucks for the

virtual console games that I downloaded that

are on an SD card. But there's like we have eight

games and we have a console and then we have

additional controllers and then we have GameCube

controllers So I'm assuming we're gonna get a

decent chunk back from some of that From disc

replay And Mixing that in with What we already

have in store credit there. I should be able

to buy that monitor I'm gonna trade in one of

my monitors to which actually It kind of sucks

because one of them's got USB on it and the other

one's got crystal clear picture. So, yeah, it's

a little bit different. But it doesn't matter.

I'll figure it out. Yeah, so with that, I'm going

to take a quick break and we'll be back with

some other content. Oh, hey, Jimmy. Tell your

mom I like them apples. And we're back. So on

this part of Altered Geek, I plan to... talk

about since before the break I actually did take

a break I stopped recording for a little bit

because I didn't really have anything else to

add and what I've discovered is that if I record

a little bit each day I can actually make a combined

podcast with all the breaks in it that I need

and not really ramble on with useless banter

or prattling I mean, this technically is, but

on the other hand, what it allows me to do is

to recharge and to give me the opportunity to

talk about something I really want to talk about.

So yesterday, being that Netflix has taken away

a lot of the content my wife likes to watch,

we might actually cancel Netflix, which is a

little bit of a detriment to me because I actually

enjoy Netflix. to some degree um i don't really

all that much watch it um but when i do it's

kind of uh saddening when they they get rid of

content so that aside um my wife likes watching

all the home improvement shows um you know much

in the vein of like fixer -upper or you know

the flip it house uh shows or You know, a lot

of that kind of stuff. And so I kind of get where

she's coming from when they've taken away literally

everything she watches. So it makes it a little

bit harder for her to want to spend this money

on it. Again, completely understand. So I was

looking at other avenues yesterday after recording

Altered Geek, and I figured... Maybe I could

do a trial of Hulu or Amazon Prime to give it

something else to look at. What I discovered

when I signed up for both of them for the free

trials, well, Amazon doesn't give you the free

trial if you've already had Prime at one time.

They make you pay. right up front which kind

of blows and this is kind of one of my pet peeves

with some of these these uh tech groups uh such

as amazon uh hulu netflix they don't really let

you see what they cut carry uh because they hide

it behind the subscription wall and make you

sign up first um if i'm wrong feel free to let

me know in the comments um however that being

said As far as I know, the only one that gives

you what they're carrying is Netflix, and you

have to go to a geek site just to find it. But

the thing I didn't like about Hulu was it's a

lot of the same content Netflix has, plus a lot

of the stuff I can watch on my normal basic cable,

and then it had a bunch of crap I just don't

care about. There's nothing in there that isn't

something I would want. I found maybe 10 things

in there to add to my queue, and it was stuff

I had on my Netflix queue already. Or there was

legitimately two things that weren't on Netflix

that I added to my queue, and that was it. I

found no incentive to sign up for Hulu. None

of the programming I wanted to watch was on there.

They're pretty limited on their shows as far

as some of the stuff's concerned, at least as

far as I can tell. So I canceled it. I still

have Hulu for the next week for free of trial,

I think. So last night, I signed up for Amazon

Prime. And what I discovered there is that I

didn't care for much of the content there either.

It was a lot of the same stuff that's on Netflix

or Hulu, including some stuff that recently got

taken away from Netflix. My pet peeve, though,

is that one, their interface is cumbersome. It's

not user -friendly. Two, you can't tell what's

behind the paywall and what's not. In other words,

there's content on there that tells you it's

a part of Amazon Prime. However, when you cycle

through the things you want to watch... It tells

you to buy the season or buy them by episode,

and I'm not paying to watch a show when I just

signed up for a subscription service, which I

find a bit redonkulous. And Amazon and both Hulu

make you pay an extra surplus for commercials.

So in that regard, I mean, in Amazon, I didn't

find anything I'd really want to watch either.

It's a lot of that garbage television, like,

you know, the... runway model crap uh there's

a lot of the reality shows that are garbage um

a lot of the the losing channel or what used

to be the learning channels uh modern content

which is also garbage um so i just i found no

incentive to keep any of it so i canceled that

too and so it's leaving me back in netflixville

and if i were still the person to decide to pirate

content, this would lead me ultimately back to

that. However, I'm not. So I just, I'm going

to have to watch my shows that I want to watch

and then just kind of do without or go to the

subscriber's website and watch it directly there

so that I can give the ratings to the show. And

speaking of ratings, and this is kind of a separate

vein, but I know Blanchard's going to get on

this at some point. Girl Meets World. One of

the more successful revival shows, also one of

the number one rated on Disney Channel, got canceled

for another season. And they're in season three,

and it's going to be rounding out three more

episodes, and then wham, bam, done. The show's

over. I'm hoping Netflix picks it back up. because

it would be nice to see them be on the teeny

bopper stage and see them go on to like such

as college much like boy meets world did um just

in that vein i've enjoyed that show i mean yes

it's not on my top 10 anymore but i've enjoyed

that show more than some of the other revival

shows i mean we've had a 24 revival show we've

had x files revival show we've had full house

revival we've had gilmore girls revival we've

had You know, Boy Meets World. And then we've

had, like, I want to say there's a couple other

ones, but I can't put my finger on what they

were. I know there's some I'm forgetting. These

are the ones that stand out in my mind. So I'm

kind of disappointed that they're getting rid

of this because it's one of the last shows that

stays true to the old. You know, here's a message.

Yes, it's up to date. No, it's not pandering

to the PC police. No, it's not. It's not destroyed

from its wholesomeness, I should say. Like, I

enjoy Fuller House. However, the aspect that

made Full House likable isn't really present

in the show. when i say that i mean there's a

lot more i mean yes it's very much more real

life in some regards um like when they get into

arguments or when certain situations happen um

and they've inserted some modern technology and

references but they're still calling back to

a lot more of the old stuff um But I don't think

it's fully evolved. It's almost like a flip -flop

of what was there previously, but it's also adding

in a lot of the old cast. Whereas Boy Meets World,

I feel like when it went Girl Meets World, it

evolved into this new entity while still staying

true to the original format. It wasn't copying

and pasting the original format. At least most

of the time it wasn't. So I kind of see where

Fuller House got. bash for that a little bit

and that too got renewed for a third season so

we'll see if it goes beyond a fourth or a third

which with Netflix it probably will the next

season's been up from 13 episodes to 18 so I'm

kind of happy to see it go that direction so

we'll see how this whole vein goes in the future

so with that I'm going to take another quick

break and finish off the show At this point,

he probably is. So, something awesome that I

wanted to bring up that I thought was kind of

neat, that kind of popped over the last week,

and it's a little pop culture related, but it's

fine. So, there's been a drop of a photo. of

Bryan Cranston as Zordon as seen on a cell phone.

And we get a glance at him, bald -headed and

all, in a blue orb at the top of a mountain with

Alpha 5 towards the bottom, looking albeit a

little ridiculous. He looks a little... It looks

a little weird, but it's got... like a green

thing all around him like kind of like it's it's

transmitting his or holding his energy essence

in between there um but it's uh one of the few

characters maintaining a relatively faithful

appearance to his predecessor um and uh yeah

and it looks like alpha 5 has been slightly redesigned

as well So I'm kind of wondering if they redid

Alpha 5 again based on the complaints of the

fans. But it's not close enough of a picture

to tell. But yeah, Cranston said he was performing

a lot of motion capture work with plans to dub

the character into scenes through CGI. The tenet

of the storyline is that this is a real person

who's trapped in the Aetherworld, and it becomes

this in -the -wall, so to speak, of the Command

Center. He still has a heart and mind, but an

agenda that he's got to get these Power Rangers

to defend the Earth, or everyone else they know

will be killed. And it doesn't speculate whether

we'll actually get to see Zordon pre -Floating

Blue Head, but I would be in favor of seeing

that happen. So we kind of get that backstory

of Zordon and see him pre -Power Rangers. That

would be nice to see that as an intro to the

movie with him fighting Rita and then getting

locked up. So time will tell, I guess. I'm definitely

glad that they got Cranston to fill in, especially

because he got his start in Power Rangers. So

that's kind of ironic that he's kind of come

full circle back to the franchise. he got to

help with in the beginning. Another awesome thing

that kind of popped up is Star Wars Rebels mid

-season trailer popped up. And we got to see

something awesome. We got to see Saw from Rogue

One. We got to see the Death Troopers. We got

to see what looks like the robot that eventually

defects Attack Chopper. We get to see Thrawn

actually fighting. We get to see the Darksaber

come up again. We get to see the Holocron from

Obi -Wan Kenobi in Clone Wars, basically, or

Episode 3, to all Jedi telling them to stay away

and to go into hiding. And Ezra has it. And you

see him, and he's a little bit older than his

Clone Wars -looking self and a little bit older

than his Episode III. However, he wasn't the

white -haired Obi -Wan that we know from later.

Being that this is only a couple years before

the Battle of Yavin, we have Rebels. They're

going to discover the Death Star in the series

in this third season. Because everything is leading

up to that. I mean, they've been leading up to

that anyway, but it's going to tie in with Rogue

One. And I think next season will kind of more

so tie in with Rogue One, if not this season.

And then we should be caught up to, pretty close

to anyway. I see it going another season at least,

but being pretty close to caught up to Episode

4. Or maybe even seeing what happens to these

characters during Episode 4. It would be kind

of interesting to see how far they decide to

take the Rebels. It's been a good show, so I

would definitely be in favor of seeing them go

beyond that, maybe even to Hoth. And then we

see Darth Maul meeting on Tatooine, same place

he discovered Obi -Wan and Anakin and Qui -Gon

in the first place. And Obi -Wan's in the middle

of the desert with a fire. with his cloak on,

leaning over it, and you see Darth Maul coming

up close, and Obi -Wan's like, you're in the

wrong place, my friend. And then he stands up

and pulls the cloak back, and Darth Maul's lightsaber

comes out, and his lightsaber comes out, and

he's the older version. And then they charge

at each other. So obviously Obi -Wan's not going

to die here, because he dies at Vader's hands,

not at anybody else's, and that's because he

allowed it. but it will be interesting to see

where Darth Maul goes from here I don't see them

killing Darth Maul because he's played such a

powerful part in Rebels however that being said

they may actually kill him off which could be

interesting and if they don't maybe Obi -Wan

is part of the reason why he you know maybe gets

disgraced enough or maybe he becomes Snoke later

on who knows I mean because Snoke looks pretty

blasted old and worried for the wear and everything

else so he could be like kind of a gaunt version

of Darth Maul in the future which surprisingly

would actually be kind of neat because uh Darth

Maul in this timeline doesn't like the Jedi doesn't

like the Sith and doesn't like the Empire um

so for him to say you know for Snoke to say that

he's been around since before the Empire And

with Clone Wars and Rebels being canon, that

would actually fit really well if they're going

to use a pre -existing character that they shouldn't

have killed off anyway in the first film. But

I would be apt to entertain that thought. We

obviously know it's not Emperor Palpatine. He

plummeted to his death and they're not going

to do the clone thing with him. So I would be

okay with that, honestly. But, yeah, that's definitely

a trailer to watch, and the Obi -Wan image is

just spectacular, and the voice acting in it

is awesome. But Forrest Whitaker reprises his

role as Saw Gerrera, and then, you know, they

have Mon Mothma show up, they have, you know,

the Death Troopers, they have, it's, yeah. It's

definitely going to be interesting to see how

this all plays out in the season. I would love

to see Han show up at some point in here with

Chewie. Maybe smuggling or seeing the Fets or

just anything in general. It could be kind of

awesome. But I guess time will tell. So yeah,

that's about all I got this week on this episode.
