The Bridge Generation

Hello, I'm Alana Ace. For a long time, my relationship

has been measured in bit rates and cable management.

I've spent the better part of a decade behind

the scenes, building machines, checking the audio

feeds and analyzing data logs for other people's

stories. But today, the calibration is a little

bit different. I'm finally moving the microphone

to the center of the desk. This is the first

official signal of Alana Unleashed. It feels

a bit strange to be the one talking rather than

the one listening, but more a little duality

is just part of the design. I'm coming to you

from my studio in Michigan. If you've never been

to the west coast of the Mitten, it's a place

to find by its edges. One day the sun is hitting

the dunes and the next the like effect mist is

so thick. It looks like a low render distance

filter from a 1996 survival horror game. Right

as the internet was finding its feed and 3D gaming

was learning to crawl, I grew up in the bridge

era caught between the tactile click of a physical

button and the infinite reach of a fiber optic

cable. That middle ground is where I live. People

ask me why I obsess over the bones of a story

instead of the hype. When I look at a piece of

tech or character design, I'm looking for the

engineering. If you're here for the latest rumors,

industry leaks or guessing games about what might

happen three years from now, you are likely in

the wrong place. There are plenty of other people

better, uh, throw at future casting. I'll leave

the crystal balls to them. Here, we're going

to talk about the why. Why does the 1992 Batman

Utility Belt feel more real than a modern CGI

suit? Why does the layout of a 32 -bit RPG map

make you feel more at home than a 4K open world?

We're looking for the soul in the machine, the

functional art that makes a story stick to your

rims. If a designer took the time to build a

detail, I'm taking the time to deconstruct it.

So this show is my workspace, made public. It's

a bit of an experiment moving from the silent

observer to the analyst, but I think it's time

we started looking at pop culture through a sharper

lens. I'm a fan by heart, but I'm a technician

by habit. I can't wait to show you what I see

in the details. So, the date is longed, and the

feed is clean. I'm a lot of ace. Thanks for hanging
