Hi, this is Gary Chalk, and you're listening

to the Geekcast Radio Network. I am Adam, Prince

of Eternia, defender of the secrets of Castle

Grayskull. This is Cringer, my fearless friend.

And the Masters of the Universe! I am Adam. Prince

of Eternia, and defender of the secrets of Castle

Grayskull. This is Cringer, my fearless friend.

Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the

day I held aloft my magic sword and said, By

the power of Grayskull! became the mighty Battle

Cat, and I became He -Man, the most powerful

man in the universe. Only three others share

this secret. Our friends, the Sorceress and Alarms

and Orko. Together, we defend Castle Grayskull

from the evil forces of Skeletor. We interrupt

this regularly scheduled program to bring you

this Masters of the Universe news here on Powers

of Grayskull. I'm of course TF2 and Mike. Joining

me is Optimus Solo. Hello sir. I feel like I

should be doing like the thing on set. On the

street where it's like do do do do do do do do

do do do The sad news is on... What was the date?

Oh boy. On July 23rd of this year, Gabe Cuth,

who voices Orko in the 2002 Masters of the Universe

cartoon, passed away. I remember seeing this

and I'm like, oh wow. Dang. Curse you, 2019!

Course we say that for every year like we know

that death is a part of life and everything but

My and this is so sad and I'm not trying to be

funny about this. It is very sad My first thought

was oh crap. We can't say anything negative about

orco anymore Yeah, basically I that was my first

thought I'm sorry for that thought folks, but

honestly like Anytime anybody passes away whether

it's somebody you love whether it's somebody

you what whatever it's like, you know damn Yes

And we obviously we have mentioned it's not our

favorite voice in the series. Yeah, but But we've

also had no problems with Mekanak you voiced

him as well. Oh, yeah, absolutely He's a great

voice actor. It's just the Oracle voice. We're

not really that thrilled with But it doesn't

you know, he's actually He's actually the brother

of Sam Vincent Who is another voice actor? Hmm

interesting so I know Sam Vincent, but he is

the brother of him He also physically played

Leonardo in Ninja Turtles the next mutation.

Oh Gabe did Yeah, Gabe did So not a lot of stuff

unless you're a Dead Rising fan He played Johnny

James and Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2 off

record but just minor roles here and there kind

of a smattering of like 20 -30 year olds but

still obviously notable to talk about it when

it comes to voice actors it comes to this time

period very much so he will be missed obviously

it just really like you think about everybody

who's got like just specifically to Motu Know

Lou's gone Gabe's gone. I forgot I forget who

else I'm Linda Gary You know and it's like wow

like dang Yeah Come on Alan Oppenheimer hang

in there bud Sorry folks I had to bring it out

of the darkness there for a second And other

Masters of the Universe news, Power Con was recently

held somewhere, I forget where, I think it's

out in LA somewhere or something. And at Power

Con, the biggest announcement to come out of

that is that Kevin Smith is going to be doing

Masters of the Universe, a limited Netflix series.

Holy crap. So this puts into question though,

and I've said this on this show already before

Well, I think it was at the tail end of when

we were doing new adventures. I Need a break

once we finish this and you're like, no, we got

to do Shira We got to do Shira and I'm like we'll

do Shira in like a you know Three to six months

after we end the main run of this show. We'll

come back to it or whatever Due to peer pressure

from Twitter I have since Scene season 2 and

season 3 of she ran the princess of power princesses

of power. Yes, you do Yes, Twitter Twitter appeared

pressure you bastards I was not thrilled with

season 2 season 3 so far is my favorite because

I believe it was the best story driven part of

the show and I love I can't wait until they do

season 4 where they're like, hey, it's just gonna

be four episodes now cuz Every season, they've

shortened the order, so that to me is like, hey,

cancellation is coming. First season had, what,

seven or eight, I think, or was it nine? It was

just under 13. Second season had seven episodes,

and then the third season had six episodes, and

I'm like, hey. Only six episodes of crap to go

through. But yes, Kevin Smith, Masters of the

Universe. Supposedly, the way it's been said,

the way Smith has said it, and the way that news

articles are reporting it, it'll be a limited

series that focuses on following plot threads

that were left unresolved at the end of the 80s

edition of the show. A lot of people are pointing

out, and I'm sure we'll point out this as well,

that show was a weekly... Villain of the week

kind of thing most of the time The only real

plot threads were what they created for secret

of the sword There were no real In a hundred

and thirty episodes, I mean that might be what

he's getting at is because a lot of questions

weren't answered because it wasn't continuity

maybe he's gonna delve into that I kind of interpreted

that more so as Not really that part where he

Says the plot thread but in the interview that

he did with pixel Dan he talks about Through

that interview. I gather that it's more so like

the aesthetic the look the feel is gonna Feel

like the 80s filmation series like if you're

a fan of that It should fit your into your kind

of vision as to what he man is. He says you're

not Like look at it and have one of those things

where you're like, oh, that's not my human or

it's not my not You know my skeletal or whatever

like the look is gonna pick up from there but

I don't know about plot threads outside of if

you Delving into just some backstory between

any of the characters because there's not a lot

of that that was ever given so yeah, I mean I

you know it's one of those things where I'm Obviously,

I'm as you can tell folks I'm not the biggest

fan of the the the fem Shearer show that they're

that they have on Netflix, but it's okay It's

not gonna ruin my day if more seasons of that

show come out, but I do know that a lot of articles

have suggested after the fact of this news by

Kevin Smith and Power Con that are they going

to cancel She -Ra in favor of this? And I think

a lot of people are gonna be pissed about that

if that is what happens. I'm not saying that

is what is going to happen, but... From what

I've been reading online. Everyone's assuming

that Netflix is gonna cancel the Shearer thing

to go with the Kevin Smith thing Yeah, unless

I just let both coexist and I don't know what

I'm seeing though is From all the different articles

and interviews he's done so far as you know,

the look in the aesthetics gonna feel like the

80s film animation It's going to actually be

character or plot driven though It's gonna be

animated by the people that did the Castlevania

and Netflix series So you're gonna have some

updated animation and because it's on Netflix

the the there's not really much tying them down

as far as what they can do from a action standpoint

Or you know from a rating standpoint, so they're

gonna be able to do some actual Right probably

more fighting or things of that nature have some

stakes. I had shared Back on August 18 three

or four days ago When the Masters of the universe

official Facebook page shared the image which

will be in the post and it's actually part of

the featured banner that Steve made up I actually

added to my share of that, of what the official

description of this is supposed to be. I got

it from, I think, Pixel Dan's article or whatever,

something. A radical return to Eternia. Revelation

is a direct sequel series to the classic era

of Masters of the Universe, featuring fan favorites

He -Man, Orko, Cringer, and Man at Arms. The

story... pits our heroic warriors and guardians

of Castle Grayskull against Skeletor, Evelyn,

Beastman, and the vile legions of Snake Mountain.

But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures

Eternia, it's up to Teela to solve the mystery

to the missing Sword of Power in a race against

time. To prevent the end of the universe, her

journey... will uncover the secrets of Grayskull

at last. This is an epic He -Man and Masters

of the Universe saga fans have waited 35 years

to see. A lot of people, that last paragraph,

a lot of people online are like, oh fuck, they're

making it about Tila. So they're making it about

a woman. And I'm like, no, that's not... Do people

not remember the original show? Do people not

remember that she was pretty much... Second -in

-command kind of I mean obviously not but like

she was the woman in that show right like I think

it for what I'm gathering is that maybe Whether

it's Kevin Smith or other people that are in

charge might be blending the Memories they have

of the 80s and the 2002 version Because it sounds

more like that to me It sounds like from a visual

standpoint, it's gonna look like more the 80s

But from a story standpoint, it's gonna do some

of the stuff that the 2000 series is never allowed

to do with hopefully the snake mountain maybe

snake men who know those But answering some of

the questions of Tila's origin who her father

is etc, etc So I mean that that could be things,

but here's the thing that we got to realize right

now. We're Regardless of which direction in which

story it tells and all the details surrounding

it. Here's the deal guys We got a sheer series

on Netflix the last couple years. We're getting

that human And series very soon. They're still

talking about the movie It's it's like human

resurgence and I'm all about it. So I don't care

and then seeing here is If the Netflix series

is is all successful There may be a toy line

that is actually hitting shelves now. We're not

talking about a Maddie collector or a you know,

so Yeah, it'll be through Mattel and Super 7

but it's not and since he man toys have been

on toy shelves at Target or wall Martyr, you

know, whatever Toys R Us is left in the country

and counting the Counting the DC Universe Masters

of the universe crossover Besides that it's been

decades Right. It's at least been since the 2002

era Well, it's not necessarily dates my one decade,

but whatever I'm excited for it. You know, I'm

excited for us to continue the coverage here

for the 2002 series Again, we're recording this

now because episode 113, which you would have

just heard, 114, 115, and 116 are all pre -recorded,

and they're all edited, so there is no way to

work this news in, so you guys get a secondary

special bonus thing. Just a little side note

here. I have to say, I am so glad I'm not in

the clickbait news business. every article I

see. He -Man and the Masters of the Universe

is returning and it's gonna be on Netflix. Okay,

that's great. Except they're using the old filmation

image. And that to me is like misleading people

that go to whatever site it is. I think the one

of the first ones I saw was maybe Deadline. I

could be wrong, but... no actually known you

know what i saw today because i was gonna pull

it up it came up my google feed of all places

wgntv had that headline he man a message universe

is returning it's going to be on netflix and

they had the the old image of the you know the

the the the blue uh... formation image with the

man in oracle and everybody on it and i'm like

that's great it'd be great if you could use the

actual image that they released That takes too

much time for me. No! It does, they're lazy.

These SOBs, they're just gonna click whatever

they gotta do. I'm a lazy SOB, but I still had

my wonderful art guru, Steve Megatron, make a

banner out of the actual friggin' image of what

it... Oh my god. Anyway. As I said, we are continuing

on here with the 2002 series. Who knows when

we'll get to She -Ra. Like I said a few minutes

ago I'm gonna need a break at some point after

we finish 2002. So The way I look at it is Powers

of Grayskull series will turn into what not necessarily

turn into what Tooncast did but basically We'll

end it and then we'll bring it back. It's kind

of like James Bond Powers of Grayskull will return,

you know one step closer To get in the movie

featuring Chris Hemsworth He is the perfect either

he could play a good he man, but he would suck

his Adam the To play it down. He's got some comedic

chops. You could do it Mmm. He literally has

the body how Thor and he man are almost the same

character. I I'm not disagreeing with you I'm

saying I'm agreeing. Yes, he could play he man,

but he does not have the chops to play at him

We'll say like when you say that you say he does

and I'm like, oh my god I do not want crimp Chris

Hemsworth from 2016 Ghostbusters. I do not want

that. No, that's not Prince Adam. No So for people

no good. I Just gonna say years ago on the cinema

geeks. We did a dream casting Mm -hmm of of he

man and who I wanted to I wanted everybody to

play and that is Making me curious now as far

as who I had picked back then. Uh -huh. I know

it was I know it was Chris Hemsworth. Mm -hmm

But I'm trying to remember who else that I fantasy

booked to play the other role so keep talking

I'm gonna try to remember who I had there. Okay,

you remember what episode that was Um, I gotta

look it up Remember what year it was shut up

Years and years and years ago in a podcast universe

far away But yeah, you know, we're gonna continue

on so most of the episodes you'll hear are pre

-recorded But we're gonna continue on talking

2002 Masters. We're still loving that show The

other part of the article from comicbook .com

that I have actually under the image of the Netflix

series is that apparently DC obviously has had

a long -standing and exciting partnership with

Mattel bringing in the adventures of He -Man

to comics and our fans, Hank. Canals SVP publishing

strategy and support services said in a press

release DC also knows what it means to showcase

characters from across its own universe or multiverse

I'm looking forward to see the different iterations

of human and other masters of the universe characters

in this series so basically the series he's talking

about is DC and Mattel is continuing on. The

universes are set to collide again in the new

comic series He -Man and the Masters of the Multiverse.

The six issue series will be written by Tim Seeley

with art by Dan Fraga and Richard Friend. It

will show a desperate union of different versions

of He -Man from across the multiverse to take

on a new threat and they'll need help from Skeletor

to achieve victory. So, I know you're not, you

weren't doing the comic stuff with me. I mean,

you did like one or two episodes, I think, but

you're not really a comic book guy. Sadly. What?

You're too muscular and skinny to be a comic

book guy. A comic book guy has to be fattened

from Springfield. Yes, that's a Simpsons joke,

folks. but um... so yeah they're continuing on

uh... the the dc mattel he -man and and and dc

heroes things which is really cool i think uh...

they did uh... he meant undercats they did injustice

versus masters uh... which i still have to cover

with a desperate whoever's gonna cover that with

me so very very cool so comics animation live

-action film God knows all the toys that Mattel

is coming out with for He -Man and the Master's

Universe, She -Ra and the Princess of Power.

Can't be. Yay! I don't know. Did you find what

you're looking for yet? I found it, but it's

not loading. Damn bastards. Yeah. All right,

well we're gonna end this this content update

for powers of grayskull series masters of grayskull

Tune into episode 114 And obviously the rest

of the stuff that that we've got planned out

for powers of grayskull if we go away for a little

bit Don't fret folks. We'll be back because There's

a lot of shows that are on the geek cast review

network that apparently just won't die because

um Who wants to kill him? Well, you know, certain

things need to go away at least for a little

while, and one thing that has gone away for a

little while, you heard it here first, folks.

Movie Week in Review might be coming back. What?

Yep. So, by the power and for the honor of Grayskull,

we all have the power. No one needs me I don't

know how or where but believe me I walk the universe

to find her For better or for worse beside

No chapter markers for this episode.
