About this Episode

Steve Megatron and Dave Jones discuss Microsoft's Project Neon design changes for Windows 10, dissect the Rey/Finn/Poe casting photos from Star Wars and theories about Rey's parentage, and debate whether the new Powerless DC series works despite its premise. They also cover the Mel Gibson Suicide Squad 2 director rumors, Ben Affleck stepping back from The Batman, the upcoming Batman and Harley Quinn animated film, Adam Sandler's Sandy Wexler on Netflix, and share their own geeky guilty pleasures that listeners might not expect.

You're tuned in to Steve Megatron on Altered

Geek. Welcome to Altered Geek. I'm your host,

Steve Megatron Phillips, and joining me is...

Dave Jones, Mike. Yep. Not flying solo this week?

Nope. Alright. So... That's because I shot first.

That's what she said. Oh! That's so wrong. Now

you've got to put that outtake at the beginning

of this podcast. Oh, I'm not. Um... So... So,

yeah, I've noticed, for one, the episodes have

been doing a lot better on their various platforms,

which is awesome. I also, to address the big

purple dinosaur in the room. Barney's here? No.

So. Awkwardness aside. I was waiting for a shut

up, bitch. You know, I don't say that anymore.

So it will live in infamy in the outtakes. But.

No, the. Maybe I lose my train of thought. Purple

dinosaur in the room. Yes. So I've put Altered

Geek back on Geekcast Radio for a number of reasons.

One of them being more exposure for the show

in the sense that I'll have multiple locations

with the same file being listened to. Because

I put it on This Week in Geek as well. The number

two is I've noticed that there's a lack of content.

new content on a consistent basis hey i'm working

as fast as i can over here damn it i know you

are um i know they are too but like it's still

it's we don't have as many contributors as we

once had so it's kind of kind of a bummer um

uh as far as getting some new content on the

the main page At least written side. I haven't

paid attention to the podcast side, so I can't

point fingers there. We need writers, people.

Send your resumes to feedback at geekcastradio

.com. Yeah, I put a press release in there the

other day, but that's besides the fact. I think

that might have been earlier. I don't know. You've

lost all train of clarity right now. Yes. So

that's because you met me. So general housekeeping,

I finished a side project website that I've been

working on, just waiting on final payment. Got

another site I might be working on soon to build.

Got a couple of side image projects. Managed

to get out of my math class, which... I was told

I no longer need and I truly do not need so I

have to go drop that class next week so that

I don't have to have a bad grade on my on my

transcript because I bombed the tests and the

quizzes with no help there is no Obi -Wan Kenobi

there is no hope so Yeah, 15 years of no math.

Yeah, just doesn't do it justice. A sign of justice,

maybe, but not justice at all. So basically what

you're saying is spare you this mockery of justice?

Yes, because it's not. Oh. Yeah, so I redid the

Twig logo. Yes. At your request. We'll see what

Dad says. I'm just saying. That's all that matters.

I love how you used all caps and then the W is

like lowercase. Wait, I didn't do anything to

it. No, I'm saying when you posted it on Facebook.

Wait, what? I'll have to look at that later.

I enjoyed throwing you under the bus on the show.

You do it to me so often. I do not. I do no such

thing. That's why I messed up this episode. It's

not my fault you don't want to live up to your

reputation. You know, there's this thing. It's

like sequels. It's not always as good as the

original joke. Hey, that's why we have the original

joke and we can just put it in. Speaking of jokes,

how are you doing today? Oh, you ass. So, no,

on a serious joke, Microsoft is teasing a new

Windows 10 design change. Yeah, I've heard about

this. Yeah, and it looks like they're... I don't

know exactly what they're modifying, but I'm

so glad that I disabled my Windows updates a

long time ago. It's called... It's supposed to

be doing... This website, I found it on The Verge.

They're calling it Project Neon, but it's going

to focus on Microsoft's 3D efforts and HoloLens

and some of the stuff like that. But it looks

like they've got some new, like the Groove Media

Player, and they've revamped the start menu.

Not totally, just the color. It's like they've

inverted the colors. And then, yeah, they've

done some weird stuff with some of the designs,

but it's a lot of their side software, for the

most part, that's been messed with. I have no

idea what they're trying to do. I don't even

think they know what they're trying to do at

this point. But I'm so glad I disabled all of

my updates so it still runs like the original

Windows 10. and then of course a uh jumping gears

a little bit there's a new transformers game

coming to mobile in in this year and it's supposed

to be like a um it's called forged to fight and

the uh The designs are very G1 -esque, but they've

also got stuff from the Combiner Wars, stuff

from G1, stuff from the movie -verse, stuff from

the Titans Return designs. So there's a lot of

weird... It's basically a fighting game. and

it's supposed to be like realities collide this

all new epic 3d action fighting game and then

it shows like them building bases too so like

it's almost like they combined um like a transformers

version of street fighter with um or like injustice

gods among us oh very cool with with um uh kind

of a like the game that's already out the earth

wars so i'm like i don't really know if i want

to play more so because i just don't see the

purpose um not that i wouldn't play it but i

just i'm already entangled in one i don't want

to do another game on my phone i drive mary nuts

enough doing that um so yeah speaking of mary

and the butchering that i was talking about earlier

um oh ian needed a haircut oh no she wouldn't

let me give him a haircut because she's afraid

of what i'd do to his head and what does she

do she uses the wrong clip oh no So, my son has

barely any hair on his head. And she kind of

had to keep going because she'd already zipped

off one whole line. For a second there, I thought

you were going to say you turned him into one

of the insane clown posse. No, we didn't give

him a mohawk. So, since we're talking. Hair change.

Yeah. I'm finding interesting ways to segue into

different topics. I'm going to see how well this

works because it allows me to comment on different

things and spend very little time. Hair change?

Are we talking about the Annoying Orange now?

No, it has nothing to do with that. No, this

is the first official look at Rey, Finn, and

Poe Dameron in Star Wars The Last Jedi for the

Force Friday 2. and it shows the first look at

a lightsaber -wielding Rey along with the returning

Finn and Poe. Finn's just wearing his rebel helmet,

and the interesting thing about Rey is... No,

Finn's not wearing anything. Poe's the one that

has the rebel helmet. Yeah, you know what I mean.

One's white, one's black. There's a difference.

I'm just saying! I can't be like the Democrats.

No, but I'm saying if we saw a giant helmet on

the black guy, we would see the giant helmet

on the black guy and he's not wearing a damn

helmet. I forget their names because I put very

little stock in the characters when they're in

the movie. I'll tell you this. Looking at this

Force Friday 2 image. I personally don't think

that's supposed to be the actress that plays

Rey. The way that it's photoshopped, it just...

Well, the thing is that it is her. And I'm thinking

because she's wearing a different outfit and

the hair is down and the way she's holding the

lightsaber, it's very much a Jedi stance. I'm

just saying her face and the forehead and all

that, it just doesn't look... It's cleaned up,

and it looks a little bit different, you know,

because it's been in Photoshop. But, like, again,

the hair down and the angle of holding the lightsaber

is definitely reminiscent of a Jedi. I guess.

She kind of looks like a female version of Qui

-Gon Jinn. Funny you should mention that. It's

all connected. It's not Marvel, but it's all

connected. Funny you should mention that. Earlier

this morning, Twitter user Ash Croftson from

Video Producer and Host for ET Entertainment

Tonight posted a funny image this morning, and

it shows a picture of... of her holding the lightsaber

and then it shows a picture of qui -gon next

to and she says is right actually qui -gon a

you know a qui -gon gym character you know and

she's like a think piece and i was like that

actually makes a lot of sense and so i retweeted

it and favorited it and then everybody was retweeting

off my like literally everybody for like an hour

um So it was kind of interesting. But I actually

like that theory a lot more than the Skywalker

one. Yeah, I don't believe for a second that

she's a Skywalker. I just don't. Unless that

was their way of putting her away from getting

harmed. So... I just... I liked Episode 7. We're

going to eventually have an Episode 7 MWire episode

since we already went through five and a half

hours talking the other six movies a few years

ago. But I just do not believe that she... They

should have done something in Episode 7 that

led us to believe who her past was, who her parents

are. Well, they're going to reveal that in this

movie. I understand that. I'm just saying that...

Out of Episode 7, I got no feeling like... Okay.

You know, throughout the original trilogy, you

know, once Luke knows he can, you know, start

sensing Vader and, you know, felt feeling the

disturbance in the force and things like that.

And I know in episode seven, Ray was just getting

her powers and just learning how to use her powers

and things like that. But you would think if,

you know, she started to use them, started to

learn them more. And again, if we get the answers

in episode eight, fine. But I'm just saying I

just. Looking at her and looking at Mark Hamill

and looking at Luke Skywalker, I just don't see

the resemblance to them at all. Well, the other

thing, too, is even if she's a Kenobi, I don't

think she's a Skywalker anyway. Because it would

be funny because, you know, Kenobi mentors a

Skywalker. Kenobi mentors another Skywalker.

Skywalker mentors a Kenobi. But the one thing

about this too, though, they went safe with The

Force Awakens because it's basically A New Hope,

just with new characters or flopping roles. So

that's all they did with it. So yeah, I saw that

and couldn't resist. And it's just awesome how

it's all just coming together on its own. So,

of course, there's another X -Men movie shooting

called Supernova. And it's going to be basically

the Dark Phoenix. Yeah. So, because they had

the Phoenix show up in Apocalypse. Why not just

call it the Dark Phoenix Part 1 or whatever that,

like, Supernova, really? Like, really? We really

need to name it that? Seriously? Why not just

call it Dark Phoenix Part 1 or however many parts

they're going to have of the stupid thing? Supernova

makes no damn sense. Well, it's alright. They're

going to reboot the universe anyway after that,

I'm thinking. I'm surprised they haven't done

it already. Well, they did, technically. That's

why they got the first class. Yeah. They had

to do something. Jumping into... I'm trying to

stay away from the rumors. Oh, no. Well, they're

saying that Luke and all those characters are

going to show up in the teaser for the first

trailer in April. I don't even want to deal with

it. I don't want... I just want to see it. Yeah,

that's what I'm saying. I don't want to deal

with it until I actually see the trailer. And

if they show up in the trailer, I don't even

want to deal... I'm done with rumors. Rumors

are just getting your hopes up. The only ones

I'm going to touch on, which are kind of interesting

thoughts, and I'm kind of curious to hear what

other people have to say on it, and these are

to do with directors. First one, and mind you,

these are DC properties. I guess Warner Brothers

is trying to court Mel Gibson to direct Suicide

Squad 2. Why? Probably because it will actually

have action and make sense. And keep it grounded.

So, yeah. I don't know, dude. I honestly have

no investment in that whole Suicide Squad. I

thought the first two -thirds of the movie was

okay. My favorite part was the Batman scene at

the very beginning, but just after the middle

part, I just do not care about that movie at

all. Yeah, I didn't care about it either. But

yeah, they're talking about it. And he's only

back in the news now anyway because of Hacksaw

Ridge. because it kind of cleared his name after

he went AWOL a few years back. I mean, really,

look at the films he's directed. A Man Without

a Face in 93, Braveheart in 95, Passion of the

Christ in 2004. Apocalypto, which was one WTF.

Yeah, and then you got Hacksaw Ridge last year.

And then supposedly coming up, it's been announced

that he's directing Berserker. So what is that

movie? Is that going to be basically a full -on

movie from the Clerks song in the Clerks movie?

My love for you is like a ticking clock berserker.

Like, seriously, really? Maybe it's a Wolverine

movie. Who knows? So there's... Also, the news

of Ben Affleck dropping from the director role

of Batman. I understand why he's... I guess he

was recently also dropped from writing the script

and somebody else is rewriting it. And there's

also rumors that he's trying to back out of the

role now. That sucks. Which people are not really

surprised. Because they do have Matt Reeves and

Ridley Scott are being looked for the new Batman

movie. The Batman. But they're saying that...

And this is a giant rumor mill of him dropping

it, but it wouldn't surprise me either. I mean,

from what I've heard, what I've seen, that he

has confirmed he has dropped the director chair.

I don't know if he's dropped the writer chair,

but he's dropped the director chair. And the

reasoning why, like the quote I saw that was

posted on Entertainment Tonight or somewhere,

Entertainment Weekly, I forget where it was.

It was basically him saying, you know i need

i want to be able to give my full attention to

the role and i can't do that when i'm directing

or he says i'm paraphrasing it but it's something

like to the point where he said he wants to focus

on the roles of the character not have to wear

the director's hat because when you do that you

have to divide yourself between three different

places three different people three different

things yeah so um But yeah, there's also speculation

that the original choice for the DCEU Army Hammer

is being looked at again. Again, that's speculation.

We do not need the Winklevoss twins. Well, I

guess he was the original choice for Batman before

Half -Life. And then... they went with Affleck

to do an older Batman. But if they changed Affleck

out, they would essentially have to reboot the

whole universe. Because it's not like Marvel,

where one size fits all. Although they could

pull the Rhodey thing with it. No, I don't think

that's going to work. The only way Ben can leave...

you know, writing -wise, character -wise, and

the only way Arnie or whatever the hammer dude

can come in is if it's a different Earth's Batman.

If it's part of the multiverse. If it's, you

know, Earth 3 or Earth 2175 or whatever. I don't

know. So. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see. Speaking

of Batman, there's a Batman and Harley Quinn

animated movie coming down the pipe, which will

be... Kevin Conroy. We don't know. Really? We

don't know yet? Doesn't say yet. Does not say

yet. It says that the completely original story

will be written by Harley Quinn co -creator Bruce

Timm and released summer of 2017. No further

details are presently known about it. But it

happens to be they're going to have a sneak peek

at the next DC Universe original movie featuring

the talented creators and the voice cast. The

sneak peek. But nobody knows who it is yet until

the Teen Titans The Judas Contract comes out.

That movie's been in developmental hell for years.

The Judas Contract? Yeah, I don't know nothing

about it. The first I heard of it was when I

saw the press release come. And then this particular

article makes generalizations saying that typically

Harley Quinn's been voiced by Terry Strong. and

Batman has been recently voiced by Jason O'Mara

or Kevin Conroy. Yeah, well, Jason O'Mara was

the new 52 Batman when they were still doing

the new 52 movies and shit like that, so they

could tie into the new 52. Now that it's Rebirth,

they could do Conroy, they could do O'Mara, they

could do whomever. I mean, Tara as Harley is

good. I wish Arlene Sorkin would do it if it

was Kevin, but, I mean, Tara is just as... arlene

kind of dropped off after arkham asylum it's

been tear strong yeah no i know i know and she

does well in the role i'm just saying that if

it's gonna be if it's bruce tim taking care of

the thing and it's gonna be in somewhat of the

style of the dc animated universe i just personally

think it should be If it's going to be that.

If it's going to be something completely different

and not anything like the DCAU, then Tara's fine.

I don't have a problem with it either way. I'm

just saying that... I could have sworn I read

somewhere that Kevin was going to be doing the

voice, but I could be wrong. It's possible. Maybe

it was just speculation by fans. And then...

I don't know if you've seen the show. Oh, have

you seen powerless? No, it's on Hulu, but I won't

watch it. It's not that bad. And I was one of

the ones saying no. Um, before when I first heard

of it, I'm like, I'm not going to watch a show

that has no superheroes. They've got a bad guy

in it called jackal lantern, which is basically

like the green guy. but you never see them up

close. And you're dealing with these people that

are at Wayne Tech or Wayne Security. And it's

like a subsidiary of Wayne Industries. And it's

very much... I'm trying to figure out the feel

of the show. It's very much... Like Community?

Mm -hmm. In a sense? Then I won't watch it, most

definitely, because I can't stand Community.

It wasn't that bad. Well, it's got part of the

actors from Community. If McHale's in it, I won't

watch it, because I couldn't... He's not. He's

in that, The Great Outdoors. Oh, God. But anyways,

they got Alan Tudyk's in it. Oh, okay. And they've

got the Indian guy. in it from community uh the

one that was always talking about comic book

heroes and stuff like that he's in the show but

uh they got one disney star vanessa hudgens or

whatever um but um van wayne is alan tudyk's

name in the show and he's supposed to be bruce

wayne's cousin And Bruce Wayne is... It's funny

because the second episode, they referenced Batman

and the Joker. Because essentially... Maybe it

was the first episode. I think it was the first

episode. But anyways, these people are supposed

to be inventing things to keep the powerless

people safe from superheroes and villains alike.

bruce wayne is going to close down the division

and van wayne is going to get moved to wayne

industries and he's like oh i'm a wayne i'll

be taken care of blah blah blah like um and he's

like a total dick to his employees and vanessa

hudgens characters like trying to get them motivated

to do their job and um they're like you're the

sixth boss we've had in the last you know year

and she's like what And the one guy is like,

yeah, I fired four of them. One got crushed by

a bus, and then the other one, you know, something

happened to. And, like, so they're like, what?

You know, just kind of going nuts about it. But

anyways, they create this detector, risk detector,

that is supposed to, like, find a villain based

on, like, a scent or something or sound or something

to that degree. And they pitch it to give it

to Bruce Wayne or send it to him. And Van Wayne's

mad because the building didn't get closed down.

So he can move over to Wayne Industries and have

a nice cushy office. That's because they're in

another city. It's not Gotham, but it's like

on the outskirts. And they have this television

news report at the end. And it says, Batman apprehended

the Joker using some new tech, which was able

to find him by his Joker toxin or something like

that. And they were like, huh. They were like,

wouldn't it be cool to be working for Batman?

Because they work for Bruce Wayne, technically.

But it was kind of a nice nod. The third episode,

I guess, I haven't watched it yet. It's got Alan

Tudyk dressed up as Robin for some reason. Since

we're talking about Batman and Robin now, I saw

this story somewhere. I forget who pointed it

out to me. What happens when Mr. Freeze goes

up against Nickelback? Yeah, I saw that. The

other day, actually on Valentine's Day, Arnold

Schwarzenegger tweeted, when Congress is less

popular than herpes and Nickelback, how did 97

% of them get re -elected? Gerrymandering. He

has some link to a Facebook video. Nickelback

strikes back. At Schwarzenegger, big fans, approval

rate this. Batman and Robin, please leave us

out of your future wisdom drops. Danka Shane,

Herr Governor. Hey, I agree with Schwarzenegger.

I don't stand with Nickelback. Then I don't mind

standing alone here. Hey, at least I got one

person on my side here with JT. So, you know.

There's this song. Well, he's Canadian, isn't

he? So, he likes Nickelback. You were a transplant.

Most Canadians don't like Nickelback. And I keep

pointing out to all the Canadians, um, hello,

you were responsible for Justin Bieber. That's

worse than Nickelback. Yep, yep, yep. Yep, they

can have him back any day. Hell, they can ship

him off to Germany for all I care. Oh, crap.

Anyway. Speaking of absurdities, because I'm

going to move right down the list, I have two

more newsy things and then I've got comments

and questions. Adam Sandler's Sandy Wexler. There's

a new trailer out for the show. I will not watch

it. It's actually kind of a parody of his own

life is how this article is portraying it for

Collider. The writer is like, I can't help from

wondering if Adam Sandler's Netflix movies are

some kind of Andy Kaufman -esque exercise or

a kind of sociological experiment. It says because

they're half -baked movies and then where he

can get all of his celebrity friends involved

and everyone has a good time and everyone gets

paid. And so this new clip is supposed to be

basically All of, you know, the movie focuses

on a fictional D -list talent manager who seems

to be the kind of guy everybody is annoyed by

but ultimately loves. And then they're like,

is this, like, in a weird sense, a parody of

Sandler himself? Where, you know, he's D -list

talent. You know, everyone is annoyed by him

but ultimately likes a lot of his stuff. And

then... So it's got people like Chris Rock in

it, you've got Pauly Shore in it, Conan O 'Brien.

They're asking the writers, is he memorializing

himself? They're like, my conspiracy theory is

that the only thing that interests me regarding

this movie, so bear with me, I mean Sandy Sandler.

You see where I'm going with this, right? Yeah.

They're like, is it a mockumentary, is it a comedy,

a drama, a cry for help? So that's the only thing

that has me interested about this movie over

any of his other Netflix ones, which were total

dog snot, is because this is kind of like he's

poking fun at himself. There are things and people

from the 90s that don't hold up well, but we

usually use them as guilty pleasures, like the

movie Son -in -Law or... What else? But certain

people that come out of the 90s that keep trying

and trying and trying, and they don't get my

attention or your attention or anybody. Like

I said on Twigs Nerd News last week when I did

the story about Kevin Smith and the whole thing

with the fact that Clerks 3 and Mallrats 2 is

not being made, but Jay and Silent Bob. reboot

is is being made now um certain people just need

to stop making movies and whether they're netflix

movies whether they're in theatrical movies whatever

it is and i think sandler is one of those ones

he needs to find a new niche i mean you take

a look at adam carolla and i know not everyone

likes adam carolla but you remember listening

to adam carolla and dr drew on loveline right

Okay, but I'm saying, okay, audience, most of

the people listening to this podcast will have

at least heard of or at least heard of at least

a snippet of Loveline with Dr. Drew and Adam

Carolla, okay? Adam Carolla is now, you know,

doing the show, or at least he was. I don't know

if he still is, but he was doing the show on

one of them channels called Catch a Contractor,

you know? So he's, you know, because his dad

was, you know, was a contractor and things like

that. And, you know, so... certain people in

Hollywood need to evolve past what they, you

know, it's good going back to your roots at times,

but other times you have to branch out and create

new stuff, not just go back to the same old jokes

or the same old schticks or making something

about yourself hidden within a movie about something

else. If you want to make a biography, an autobiography

about yourself, do that. Well, the last time

he did something that worked out. that he pulled

from an older movie was click. Yeah. He had the

O'Doyles, which was a callback to, to Billy Madison,

which, which was a very tasteful like poll. And

so I'm thinking that this might be like his modern

version in a sense of, of doing that same aspect,

not, not saying it's going to be intelligent,

but I'm saying like, it's going to be better

than. Anything he's come out with in the last

10 years is what I'm thinking. I've seen a couple

other movies that he's made. He had a serious

one that was called The Cobbler where he puts

together... It's got Dustin Hoffman in it and

Steve Buscemi. That was pretty good. He's a cobbler

and puts together shoes, but he's got this special...

It's almost like comic book -esque because they

have this special sewing machine that when he

uses a special machine, he can put their shoes

on and become those people. So he can live in

their shoes through that. So he ends up solving.

It's actually really funny. He solves a murder

and as long as the people are still alive, he

can look like they look. in present day but if

they are dead then they look like dead people

so it's hilarious basically what you're telling

me is adam sandler sees dead people he can it

was a pretty good movie though i it was yeah

that if i had to recommend one of his movies

in the last five years that would be the one

but and then the the grand finale yes um Do you

remember a game called Mutant Football League?

Barely. Okay. Because it used to be out for like

the NES type time period. Anyways, the creator

of Mutant Football League and the cartoon Mutant

League, Michael Mentheim, is creating... He's

got a Kickstarter for a new... Mutant Football

League. And it's like the wildest, goriest, most

outrageous football game ever. They've actually

gone over their goal. It's got 18 days to go

and it's already reached 87 ,000 at this point

in the pledge. Their goal was 60 ,000. Hmm. So,

yeah. And it's all backers get exclusive. special

access to download and play the exclusive game

preview. It says that there's a bunch of game

sites that have commented on it. The footage

looks pretty cool. It's very much like the old

stuff, along with the cartoon. It's very, very

gory, though, for the animated stuff. And they

created new teams and stuff and whatnot for it,

but they got the Grim Bay Attackers and the Midway

Mutants. The Midway Mutants was the original

team. And then there's the Orcs of Hazzard and

the Croclan Invaders. Or the Blitzburg Steelheads.

Nuked London hatred. Hey, hey, hey, hey. That

was a wicked comeback. So it's pretty funny.

Just the fact that the Falcons dropped the 28

-3 lead. Whatever. They've got Deadheads, Bruiserbots,

Monster Orcs, just like the original. It's going

to be a digital download for Xbox One, PlayStation

4, and PC. Oh, cool. on windows and steam and

uh so yeah i um i used to watch the show i've

never played the game at all um and then just

because um somebody i know on on twitter um jason

canary on on twitter he um interviewed the guy

oh cool for uh his podcast which he just started

recently and uh so yeah it's it's pretty cool

uh you get to talk to him about that and they

i guess back in the early 90s they did um with

ea the and on the sega mega drive it looks like

yeah it was sega that wasn't a nintendo thing

um but they had mutant league football um mutant

league hockey mutant league different league

football i remember that now um and then they

had the animated series which the animated series

graphics are just terrible going back and watching

it now um but it's it's still fun to watch and

the voice acting and the story is pretty good

um wish i could find more of it i tried looking

on the uh the cartoon site could i could only

find the movie um but it's put together like

you're watching an actual like sportscast yeah

yeah um But I just remember watching it. But

yeah, anyways, so that's going on right now.

And getting into the feedback. Last week I read

feedback from Tim Silvers. And he says, thanks

for the shout out on Alter Geek. Didn't expect

my feedback to be read. We always read feedback

when we get it, if we get it. Yeah, I know. I

always read. I always try to read feedback. I

like feedback. It gives me something to bounce

off of and kind of elaborate on. And then he

says, I'm still trying to warm up to the new

theme for the podcast. I'll give it time. Yeah.

I mean, and I'll try using the shorter version

too in the near future because there's like one

that's half the length. More such as the song

cut in half. Yeah, I can see where it's a little

bit different for some people. If they're not

used to it. At least it's an all original theme

that we're not using anybody else's music from

it. I just more so get bored and I want to change

up my themes a lot. Or images. So, yeah. I commissioned

it. It's my fault. And then, of course, we have

a question from Scanner51. He says, out of all

your geeky loves, which one do you keep to yourself?

The one you really don't tell others about. Your

guilty pleasure. Most of the time, unless...

Unless a new album or a new single is coming

out, honestly, it's Nickelback. Because I know

I'm going to get all kinds of hell. Because everybody

I know seems to hate them no matter what. And

for me, I don't even care. It's not even that

I want to know what they're doing in their personal

lives. As long as they give me music that I can

enjoy, that's all I care about is the music.

Um, but yeah, most of the time I don't talk about

Nickelback unless it's something new or, you

know, I did that music spotlight a few years

ago. I did an episode on them and that was about

it. Uh, and usually when a new album comes out,

JT and I will get together and do, um, you know,

a little rock and radio geek cast radio thing

in the, you know, that we'll talk about the new

album, but that's pretty much it. Other than

that, I'm pretty vocal about stuff I love. Yeah,

I'm – he says, mine, I don't know if it's geeky,

but I have really come to love the Disney fairies,

Tinkerbell and company. I know it's because my

daughter likes them, but when we go to Disneyland,

I do get pictures with them by myself, not with

a kid. So I don't really know what mine would

be. Yeah, because you're pretty vocal about all

your stuff too. I'm pretty vocal about what I

watch, what I game to. Man, I was super disappointed

this week. Why? No Flash, no Legends. I know.

There was only Supergirl and Arrow, and I'm like,

wait, what? Like, I don't get it. What was the

deal with Tuesday night on the CW? I don't think

there was something special going on. I don't

think it was any award show that's being on the

CW of all things. Maybe they needed time to work

on the new episodes. I don't know what the heck

it was, but I'll tell you one thing. I don't

want to get too far into specifics. I made the

post earlier when I was watching this week's

Arrow. I've said this before. I'll say it again.

Season 1, Season 2, stellar. Season 3, too much

Batman overlap crap with Rache. Season 4 was

too much romantic BS with Alicity. Season 5,

at least since the 100th episode, has been really

solid. I love where Arrow's going right now.

I don't know where it's going, but I love the

direction that they're going in. Yeah, I agree.

I'm still trying to think of what... I'm so puzzled.

You stumped him, Scanner. You can get a prize,

but your prize will be delayed until next year.

It'll be deleted. Delayed, not deflated. It'll

be deleted next year. Deleted. I guess we should

do a new segment. Stump Steve! Yes, I love this

idea. You spearhead it and get me the questions.

You've got to make the art. Come on, now. Geeky

loves. I like... I like pretty much all Jim Carrey

movies. Yeah, but you've talked about that before.

He's talking about stuff you don't normally tell

people. I still watch Adam Sandler. We just spent

the last 40 minutes talking about Adam Sandler.

I don't know. I pretty much do everything I want

to do. Let me just rephrase this question just

a little bit. I guess this kind of... works in

a sense. Um, uh, I like to go to conventions,

but I'm too shy to go up and talk to people.

Okay. So they're not as fun to me because like,

I don't like in person I'm, I'm introspective.

So like when I'm in public, because I don't like

to have any kind of confrontation, even if it's

like, non -threatening like it's i don't i don't

like approaching people i don't know so it weirds

me out so i guess that would be like it's not

really a guilty pleasure because like i mean

i like going to the conventions but i don't particularly

care to go anymore because i it's no fun because

i don't talk to anybody um i like the panels

but then like like there's been people that have

booths or, or, you know, stuff like that, or

like the voice actors and depending on who they

are, like, I just feel incredibly awkward. Um,

like I got in trouble for photographing Billy

West at the recent one that I went to last year,

which was crap. Um, I did have a nice conversation

with Jason Marsden. So that was, that was cool.

Um, But, yeah, I don't know. I mean, that's really

the only way I could think of it. I mean, unless

you get some other way to interpret it. Well,

like you're saying, you know, what's one guilty

pleasure that you don't normally talk about?

Like, is there a certain type of music? Is there

a certain book series that you've read all your

life that you just don't talk about? Is there...

Is there a certain food item that you love to

eat but only your wife and your mom know that

you love to eat this? That's the one thing I

can think of. What's one thing that one or two

things that you in the last 10 years of podcasting

have not really shared with the audience? And

yeah, you've pretty much shared everything. That's

it, folks. Show's over. I will say this. Shut

up. This is totally unrelated. Yeah, no. You

remember that Kickstarter I did last year? Well,

I finally got the stuff last month for it. Mind

you, it had been a whole year, the buy the rights

thing. So what I might start doing is using that

for part of the podcast from time to time. um

where i shuffle the cards and then i come up

with a movie scenario and then we just play uh

um you know who would we cast what would we call

it what would it be um so it'd be like on air

live movie creation and then if it's good enough

maybe i'll script out a page or a scene or something

and have us all uh you know, be really stupid.

Cause it could be interesting. Yeah. Could be.

Um, but yeah, I mean, I, I, I guess I'd have

to come back to that. Cause like, I really, I

just, I don't know. I mean, I still like watching

like certain programs from when I was a kid,

but then there's like certain programs I don't

like, like, and then there's certain, I mean,

I like to watch documentaries now, which. I never

would have watched before. Um, but I think it's

cause like I've slowed down my brain to the point

where I can, um, where I can actually pay attention.

So, yeah. I mean, other than that, I just, I

don't really know. I'm, I'm stumped. You're stumped.

I'm broken. Stump Steve coming next week to Altered

Geek. I'm stumping. So what would be some things

that we should ask that would be interesting?

I think, well, one, I'm curious what people in

general think about the theme. you know, like

it, don't like it, you know, aspects of it. I'm

just generally curious. And then at the same

time, I don't know. Are there certain actors

that you think should just go away and stop making

movies? Or are there certain ones that you wish

would make a comeback, whether it be on TV or

in film? Because that could be interesting. Yeah,

that could be interesting. So, I think that'll

be it for this episode. Yeah, I think so too.

We broke Mike. Mike. It's late. We've just done

a triple. Mike drop. Yep. Mike drop. That's an

awesome. And with that, get altered, get geeky

with the Altered News. That was you being mind

raped. Somebody mushroom slapped you upside the

mental side of your head.
