Powers of Grayskull
The Betrayal of Stratos, The Ice Age Cometh, The Arena

About this Episode
and the Masters of the Universe! I am Adam, Prince
of Eternia and defender of the secrets of Castle
Grayskull. This is Cringer, my fearless friend.
Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the
day I held aloft my magic sword and said, By
the power of Grayskull! Hello, this is Optimus
Solo and welcome to the 27th! Chapter and Tales
of Eternia with me for this journey into the
Masters of the universe franchise is a What do
I want to call you? Just in your physical in
your physical state at the moment a hobbled TFG
one Mike Every time I try to every time I try
to walk the last month and a half. It's like
Luckily you don't have to move too much for this.
So are you ready for the powers of grace call
sir? Yes, but before we get to that we have a
bunch of announcements because um About about
a month ago from the time this episode will air
was San Diego comic -con and there were many
Masters of the universe reveals for comic -con
They are coming out with Masters the universe
minis similar to the robot heroes line that has
word did for transformers It looks like, I don't
know, I haven't gotten down to that part of the
page. It looks like we might be getting a Batros
figure in the classics line. I don't know. Because
it shows him standing on a Castle Grayskull stand.
Let's see what else we got here. The minis look
amazing. They look really awesome. Also this
year they're going to be doing Masters of the
Universe Giants. 12 inch He -Man and a 12 inch
Skeletor, 12 inch Stratos, 12 inch Beastman.
For the rest of the year we're gonna look at,
the one that's really intriguing to me finally
is, it's basically the same Hordak, they've just
repainted him like seven different times, but
we're finally getting Etherea Invasion Hordak,
which is Filmation Color Hordak, which he's blue
on the body. Flutterina, I don't remember her.
She's my camera. Yeah. Yeah. Well, we'll get
to that next year. Um, I am so stoked even though
I probably won't be getting them but I am so
stoked that they are putting out Madame Raz with
broom. They look amazing. Yeah, that looks cool.
Real blast and trapped. Let's see here. Eldor
in him sweet be we're getting her. I don't know
how they can make a figure of Light Hope Light
Hope was just a giant flash of light in the cartoons
I guess maybe he was more in the comics or something
in the old comics or something but this is something
that really excites me though these next two
actually next three we're getting the battle
ram with a filmation style man -at -arms the
battle ram though comes Part of it is a sky sled
So we're finally getting an updated sky sled
toy. That's awesome Tongue lasher. I actually
saw the video that pixel Dan took of this When
he was going over the brand with Scott toy guru
nightly Tongue lasher comes with two heads instead
of them trying to work in a tongue gimmick. He
has one head that has no tongue That's just a
regular facial head and then he has his head
with his tongue sticking out. I think that's
absolutely amazing uh... we're getting arrow
for bo uh... arrow was bo's horse and shira uh...
it's basically the same body as what swiftwin
was last year but it's nice that they're doing
arrow uh... we're getting galactic protector
shiro which i assume that's from new adventures
uh... the last one i'll bring up is the November
2014 holiday item, Gwildor with Cosmic Key prototype.
That's cool. That's cool. I'm really surprised
they're doing this. I did see, again, referencing
that video, Toy Guru said that the Cosmic Key
that comes with Gwildor is going to be more movie
accurate, whereas the Cosmic Key we got with,
I believe it was... pre -turning a he -man or
something like that Actually had a handle with
it. This doesn't so this is gonna be more movie
accurate. It's really nice They're getting to
do that character. I never thought that they
would be able to do that one at all As far as
next year goes we've got The they put on a map
every year with the with the subscription the
map next year is the castle grayscale blueprint
which is a really really cool picture i thought
that was really um really cool and the last one
i'll talk about is um skeletor's hover robots
it's a traveling convention item oh man those
things look so cool Alright, I think that's it.
I think we can actually get back to the 80s now.
Alright, well in this episode of Tales of Eternia,
we'll be giving you our thoughts on episode 78,
The Betrayal of Stratos, episode 79, The Ice
Age Cometh, and episode 80, The Arena. So we
hope you're ready because it's time to go back
to Eternia. Checking on the force field generator.
Something to matter? No. I was just on my way
to do the same thing. Well, I'll leave the maintenance
of our equipment to the professionals, then.
I don't mean to do your job for you. Well, after
all, you are the leader. Everything secure? It's
quiet as can be out there. Alright, starting
off today we have Episode 78, The Betrayal of
Stratos, written by David Wise. Airdate Thursday,
September 27, 1984. During Skeletor's latest
attack on Avion, Stratos discovers that the force
field generator has been sabotaged. Birdwoman
Hawk discovers Stratos trying to repair the generator
and accuses him of sabotage. Hawk accuses Stratos
publicly and he is exiled from Avion, a cruel
fate because Stratos will lose his power of flight.
He -Man and Orko find Stratos in the forest and
agree to help him find the real culprit. Skeletor
succeeds in stealing the Egg of Avion when the
Sorceress tells the heroes that Skeletor has
hidden the Egg in the Demon Zone where Whiplash
lives. He -Man and Stratos go to the Demon Zone
and discover Hawk, who reveals that she sabotaged
Avion's defenses for Skeletor. She leads them
to the Golden Dragon, which protects the Egg
of Avion. He -Man reclaims the Egg and bursts
through the Demon Zone doors. Then he creates
a rockfall that covers the entrance and seals
the Demon Zone again. The Egg of Avion is returned
to its rightful place in Stratos. Status with
the bird people is reinstated the bad guys for
this one. We do have a Skeletor mainly and and
whiplash this the side I use Mentions beast man
trap John tricops. Do you remember seeing them
at all in this episode? They were on the sky
sleds. Oh, that's right They're on the sky sleds,
but they don't really do anything or talk or
anything and then the Masters we have just Adam
and he man or cold sorceress and Stratos and
no Notable here because this will be Stratos'
last speaking role in the series. We will see
him again, but he will not speak again. The PSA
is He -Man and Orko talking about forgiveness
and Orko's fun facts, even though he has already
appeared in a few episodes. This particular episode
treats Whiplash as if this is his debut. Whiplash
suddenly resides in a place called the Demon
Zone where he takes orders from a demon called
Kral, who looks a lot like Daemar from Daemar
the Demon. Thoughts on the plot of this one and
the whole bird man angle? I honestly thought
it was evil in and disguised the entire time.
Probably because her voice was evil in. Pretty
much, yeah. I thought it was evil in the entire
time. The demon head, Kral or whatever his name
is, that design... is actually used in the DC
Motu comic, the crossover DC universe versus
Motu because that is the skull design for Horde
Prime in that universe, so that's pretty nice.
The plot overall, it's okay. Don't want to keep
saying these plots are standard, but they're
really turning that way I mean there's like there's
moments in here that I enjoyed but it's like
Okay, we have to do this plot line that has been
done a million times before or at least I've
seen it since this aired a million times already
about you know someone blaming somebody but it's
really their fault and yada yada yada and Yeah,
I mean there's only so many themes that you can
go with and betrayal is obviously one of them
I do like the idea though that The plot is delving
into one of the subspecies that one of our masters
comes from. So we're getting a better look at
the bird people, what, you know, the egg and
how it's important. And then we see a bunch of
different people and how they interact and stuff
like that. So, I mean, it gives us a better insight
on to Stratos' race or species, whatever you
want to call it. So I like the idea of doing
that. Wrapped up in a betrayal plot. you know
that's fine you know you can only do so many
types of plots there's only you know there's
only three stories in the world and they're all
variations of it so so i don't mind that i'm
kind of sad that this will be the last time strato
speaks because he's one of my favorite characters
but i guess that's going to happen throughout
the rest of the season as we see people for the
last time Yeah, and I guess this would be a good
time to address Royal Sorceress one of our fans
I completely forgot I thought it was this series,
but it's the 2002 cartoon that Stratos and Buzz
off have the battle I just didn't know if they
would also have something like that in this series
see I thought it was here I didn't remember that
it was in 2002 so It's been so long since I did
my watch through of that. Um, this one the plot
overall it's it's decent It's not the story and
the execution are not bad But it just I don't
know. I just feel like I'm on you know Rinse
repeat, you know rinse repeat ten times You're
old Yeah, pretty much. All right. Well, let's
get to cast gray skull so we can get positive
That creature's not evil. I invaded its nest
by accident. Orko, do you know the old saying,
honey works better than vinegar? Yeah, but where's
the honey? Up there. Kratos, how did you get
into this predicament? That predicament is worse
than you know here, man. I have been exiled from
Avion. What's the one on the floor? Today, Skeletor
attacked the city. Our defense shield was sabotaged,
and I was blamed. Do you know what exile means
to a bird person? I will lose the power of flight.
Of course. You'll be outside the range of the
egg of Avion's power. My only hope of saving
my wings is to find the real culprit and restore
my good name. But who would have done such a
terrible thing in the first place? Alright, we
are at Castle Grayskull for episode 78, the first
time today that we are here looking at highlights
of this episode. I'll go first because I only
have a couple that really stood out to me. Like
I said, I like seeing the insights into the bird
people. I like the whole idea that they have
this egg and that they kind of... Not really
idolize a worship, but that gives them their
power of flight So that's very important for
them And then I liked throughout the story when
they go down in the demon zone that for once
somebody doesn't get through and orcos left behind
You know he man and Stratos get through the door
before it closes in or code is not so then he's
kind of left on the other side It kind of adds
a new dynamic to it, which I thought was interesting
What kind of stuff did you like for this episode?
You mention Oracle and all I think of is he got
flattened like a pancake he did their defenses
are broken let the slaughter begin first thing
i thought it was megatron as soon as they said
the defenses were down yeah i do love the flying
animation on the sky sled i think that that has
always been one of my favorite uh animation moments
in this series and we haven't seen the sky sleds
a lot recently i gotta wonder though how can
I saw I think it was in this episode or it might
have been in another one that we're gonna talk
about today I Saw a man in arms on a sky sled.
He never actually sat on the seat. He's like
half standing half crouching His butt is never
actually touching the seat. So I'm like, how
can you fly that thing like that and stay on?
That's just a little too weird. But anyway As
soon as I saw her, I knew something was up, but
I just wrote down something not right about that
bird woman. Plus, as you said, she sounds like
Evil Anne. Every time Skeletor laughs, I love
his laugh. That's true. And Orko's magic actually
worked this time, because he was able to trap
the... Though the the demon sort of in the in
the two ends of the log. It's basically a looney
tunes kind of moment, but I Really did dig that
other than that That's all I got. All right.
Well, then we'll make our way to snake mountain
Alright sir, it's your favorite part of any episode
when we go to Snake Mountain and get negative.
Just kidding. What kind of stuff do you have
for this episode that you did not particularly
care for? Really the episode overall I found
to be middle of the road. I like certain moments
in it I you know I disliked all I really only
disliked one moment in this So it's not gonna
get my worst score, but it's not gonna get my
best score either when we get to that point,
but um They the the demons head actually says
that the door can only be open twice You know
two times every year or every 10 ,000 whatever
the hell it was He -Man opens the door to let
them in. And then Whiplash does the same damn
thing to let the demon thing, to let the demon
thing out to take care of Orko. That's two times,
right? We can all do math here, right? And then
they smash out of it at the, technically, even
though he is the most powerful man in the universe,
He -Man should not have been able to smash out
that door at the end because they said it can
only be opened two times. by by choice but he
forced it open because he's he man all right
still didn't like it that's that's loud yeah
what else what about you no that's it that was
the only thing i i just wow yeah i mean i i watched
this episode i watched it i watched it i watched
it and i'm like okay it's just kind of here you
watched it five times no I did not like Evelyn
voicing Hawk First of all whether it was it was
a little misleading because you think it's Evelyn
But then it's also very obviously she's bad of
some sort or she's at least gonna do something
bad So I mean that's kind of a it would have
been better if they had just a more innocent
voice now You wouldn't have suspected it as much.
Oh, yeah And then I thought there was a couple
too quick resolutions to a couple things first
of all whiplash comes in and he's like I got
a missile that's programmed to hit something
hit the egg or hit the I don't know what it was
programmed to hit something that they were of
importance and so he shoots it and he man just
like catches it and throws it like that it was
set up like to be like bad situation and it's
just like oh no we're done we're moving on and
then also with the door at the end as far as
they break through oh i'll i think i know how
to close this and it just does a rocks pile up
on the door like those those were both very quick
easy like oh we'll just sew up this little situation
with something that really doesn't seem like
it should work um I know they don't have a lot
of time, but it was very rushed on dealing with
two situations that seemed like they were legit
obstacles for the heroes. We got a missile, which
is very rare in this series to have something
like a missile. You know especially it's usually
a ray gun or something likes to that effect so
someone's shooting a missile that's programmed
for something you don't expect to be resolved
real quickly and then this whole they've set
this whole thing up that the demons are gonna
get out of the doors open you smashed it you
didn't just smash it I mean it was completely
smashed there was not like you could even bend
it together or something like it was gone and
See, that's what I thought he was gonna do. Yeah,
and then he just piled some rocks on top of it
like I don't know those were set up to be bigger
obstacles than they ended up being. So that's
my only issues with this episode in particular.
He -Man won the day by a landslide. Oh, the first
bottoming moment of the day for ya. Let's get
to our awards and ranking ceremony and see what
we actually thought about this show. Alright,
for the first time today it is time to hand out
some hardware. What do you have? Any power swords
or havoc staffs to give out for episode 78? Nobody
really peeved me off or nobody really excited
me too much, so... You're alright today. Nobody
peeved you off? Funny. Funny. Well, people do
it all the time, but not in this episode. Oh,
okay. So yeah, no no hardware for me. All right
Well, I got one of each for you then I will hit
Hawk with a Havoc staff because I didn't like
that character I didn't like the voice didn't
like that. She was obviously gonna be bad so
that for that and for his last and final speaking
appearance and for Being able to forgive and
do what he needed to do to get back in I give
a power sword to the one and only Stratos So
that's where I go for that. How about an episode
ranking? Three out of five four goes three out
of five Like I said, it's kind of a middle -of
-the -road kind of thing. I liked it I like seeing
Stratos, but it just got too predictable as soon
as she opened her mouth to accuse him It got
predictable and I knew it was her the entire
time Yeah, I mean that didn't bother me as much.
I mean I knew it was her too But I like seeing
I like seeing the bird people like whiplash being
in there And I like strato, so I like any episode
that focuses on him in general So I gave this
one a four out of five for battle cats a little
high, but I'm gonna stick with it So, alright,
we started off with a 4 and a 3, we'll see where
we go from here with episode 79 next. Philip,
are you listening? What? Oh, sure, sure. All
right, it's time for episode 79, the Ice Age
Cometh, written by Robert White, airdate. This
is how we ended our week, Friday, September 28th,
1984. Philip, a boy in the Royal Guard, is sent
to the Polar Weather Station to learn responsibility,
but his carelessness allows Skeletor's henchman,
Icer. to threaten Eternia with a humongous glacier.
Bad guys, we have Skeletor, Whiplash again, and
Icer in his only filmation appearance, apparently
one of the evil warriors. And then we have our
regular masters with appearances from the Queen
and King, which we don't sometimes get. And the
first, we also had Tila in here as well as Man
in Arms, which we didn't see in the last episode.
P .S .A., Adam and Tila visit Philip at the weather
station and he explains what he's learned about
taking responsibility for getting the job done.
Oracle has fun facts. The Philip in this episode
is no relation to the other Philip. Matt connects
Son, who appears in the episode's search for
a son. The ice raider is specific to this episode
and is described as a wind raider but white and
with skis. Rare occasion is Cringer successfully
flees the transformation and this is the first
and only appearance of Iser who would appear
to be one of Skeletor's regular villains, not
just a villain of the week type deal. So what
did you think about the whole weather thing and
the little boy going up to try to learn responsibility
and he f's up and Iser is taken over? It's like
they took cousin Jeremy, wimped him up and gave
him blonde hair. And a girl's voice. No, it's
the same voice. It's even more girly to me. Yeah,
it is. You're right. But I'm saying, like, this
kid is cousin Jeremy, just the blonde Nazi version
of him. Yeah. I mean, that's all this kid is.
He's arrogant. He's an asshole to everybody.
Won't listen to anybody. You know, it's just
one of those things where I just... I don't think...
Even if, if any of our diehard listeners go back
in the past 20, episode 1 to 26, I don't think
there are any children in the entire series to
this point that I've actually enjoyed seeing
them in the, I would honestly, and I know this
is gonna make you happy, I would have rather
than bring friggin' Copper Kid into this series
than watch half the goddamn children that are
in here. You liked a couple. You liked one or
two along the way that you said. I don't remember.
Yeah, you said you didn't mind them and they
were probably the best kids that we've seen in
the series so far. I don't remember, but still,
okay, two out of out of how many others, you
know, it's like. Right. You know, the plot itself,
you know, it's kind of continuing on the whole
banishment thing, even though they're not banishing
him, they're sending him. they're sending him
there so he can learn and that's all well and
good but it's it's kind of like sending someone
to military school it's like oh my god you're
being so bad we need to teach you this lesson
so you can learn and be fine and that's all well
and good this is a nice lesson but it just i
don't know i guess i've seen way too many of
these kinds of stories to me it just seemed like
it seemed like a pretty uh pretty big station
or responsibility to give just one little kid,
regardless of what you're turning into. And there
were other, there were other guards up there.
They make it sound like he's gonna be the only
one up there. Yeah, that's true. I forgot that
there was other people up there. I mean... How
do you really feel? I wish that they wouldn't,
I wish that they wouldn't use one -off riders.
I guess all these staff riders were very busy
back then. But come on, bring in Alaria de Tillio.
Bring in somebody else to write these damn episodes.
Don't just go to... Don't just wing a script
at some random guy on the street. That's fun.
I guess. Alright. I guess we'll go to Castle
Grayskull then. Yay! Come on, Cringer. We've
got to save Philip. What do you mean, we? I'm
getting out of here! By the power of Grayskull!
Alright, it's time for Castle Grayskull for the
Ice Age Cometh. First of all, I like that Cringer
actually does avoid the transformation. I thought
that was pretty cool. Stop looking at my nose!
I love that Skeletor call. They're always big
on this series of calling each other names and
stuff like that. And I like that Skeletor called
Whiplash and Wimplash. I thought that was a pretty
cool one. I think Icer's design was cool enough.
I thought he looked pretty cool. I don't know
if his voice was as cool, but I guess it was
different than the rest of the people. But I
thought his design looked decent enough. Also
good designs on the trolls. They look like they
belong to this universe. And hey, they had Tila
on ice. Unfortunately, they didn't leave her
there. They're all frozen and they could have
left her behind. What do you have? Well, you
already took my line about Cringer escaping the
transformation for once, the only time he ever
really does. Um, Icer does look great. I love
the idea of an ice villain and I wish he'd become
a character that they would have used more. Sadly,
he doesn't, um, because his ice age goeth. Um,
the Ice Raider, even though it's just a white
wind reader with skis, it is friggin' awesome.
That's a toy that I would love to see done nowadays.
Cringer wearing air muffs, now that I want to
see. Yeah, about the same thing. since I wasn't
sure where to put this because I didn't really
have a negative reaction to it was kind of like
just a chuckle but since when did he man put
a patent on a bank on a bank shot really come
on that's just silly that's just silly and finally
snowball of doom Yeah, I mean there was definitely
some highlights in this episode and some moments
that stood out a little bit more than some of
the episodes that we've seen recently so Got
that going for it, but there's also let's drawbacks.
So let's get to what those are Just give me another
chance to get my claws on that ice raider Quiet
or I'll turn you into a suitcase! I agree with
you, Tela. Philip has to learn to accept responsibility.
I'm going to transfer you, Philip, up to the
top of the world to help guard the weather station.
But that's for losers! I don't want to go! They're
playing right into my hands! He'll have to use
the ice radar! Icer, where are you? All right,
sir, what negative things do you have about the
Ice Man? wasn't sure where this episode was going
in the beginning and as soon as I saw him I wrote
it down because it's two in a row I all caps
enough with whiplash already give me triclapse
give me too bad tongue lash or someone other
than freaking whiplash and thankfully they did
that with with ICER but it's like we just saw
an entire episode with whiplash do we really
need him again Uh, and the only other thing I
wrote down was yet another boring kid episode.
And as I already stated, you know, this kid sounds
like a whinier version of Cousin Jeremy. Yeah,
he was definitely annoying. Um, that's not a
bank shot. Well... He said the patented bank
shot and then he threw a snowball that hit nothing.
Except for his target. It hit the where the where
the trolls were yeah, but it's supposed to bounce
off something else and then hit your target.
Oh, so Hookshot is what he was looking. Yeah
Philip cross that off on the names to use for
your future kid Because that name has been destroyed
by this series I guess my only problem with icer
is he looked cool and everything but is that
really the the only name they could come up with
this guy like I feel like icer was Kind of a
cop -out is coming up for a name like I can't
come up with anything creative for this guy We're
just gonna call him ice er Again, that's why
I say enough with these individual You know freelance
writers writing these damn episodes. Yeah So
yeah, that's just my only minor nitpicks. The
bank shot, the name of Philip and the name of
Aysha, I guess. I have problems with names in
this episode. Let's go to see what kind of stuff.
See if you actually have something to hand out
at this next award ceremony. Oh, you know it.
When I hand out to every child. That is one slip
too many for you. Something wrong at the weather
station. Look at the size of that glacier. It's
getting larger every hour. And coming toward
us. You'll have to fly up there and see what's
wrong, Tila. She can't. Whatever has caused this
weather has filled the atmosphere with negative
ions. There's no communication and nothing can
fly. In that case, I'll go check out the attack
track. You don't have to go with me, Adam. Good.
It's c -c -cold up there. Then you'd better pack
your earmuffs cringer. We're leaving right away
All right before Mike gets himself in trouble
with what he likes to do to kids I will actually
join him in we can both I'm trying to find a
way to say this now that doesn't sound appropriate.
You can't say it now. You can't say it now. We
both have to double -team on Philip. We're both
going to Havocstaff Philip up the you -know -what.
Skeletor needs to take this kid, bend him over
his knee, and smack him 20 times with his Havocstaff.
Yeah, Havocstaff's multiple times for Philip
until he no longer speaks like a girl. And he's
in such a... I'm not going to say that. Anyway,
what kind of episode rating are you giving this
one? One out of five orcos. Wow, down to the
one. Yup. I'm somewhat with you. I'm giving this
one two and a half. Battle Cats. I like ICER.
I like that idea, but other than that, besides
a few funny moments, there really wasn't much
about this episode that was to write home about.
No, so I could do without this one outside of
icer Yeah, all right. Let's see how we end this
episode then as we go to episode 80 you travel
quickly at the speed of light I see Well, perhaps
you could travel a little slower and we'll prepare
for your visit later this evening as you wish
Duncan would you give on the coordinates to the
palace and prepare a landing site for him? Certainly
your majesty. I go to prepare for your visit
my new friend It is time for episode 80. The
Arena. Written by Warren Greenwood. Airdate Monday,
October 1st, 1984. During a terrible war between
good and evil, a powerful alien intervenes and
forces He -Man and Skeletor to fight in place
of their armies. So we have Skeletor on one hand,
and then we have all the masters, including some
cameos from Stratos and Raman, even though they
don't speak. And the PSA is all about men in
arms, explaining the importance of compassion
for others and the uselessness of fighting. Orko's
fun facts. Sadly, this episode of Storyboard
Artist, Warren Greenwood's only script in the
entire series. He was the first storyboard artist
to write a script in the series and was shortly
followed by Robert Lamb and Bob Forward, all
turning in wonderfully memorable scripts, according
to this. Om is voiced by John Irwin, giving the
wise being a very similar voice to that of the
oracle from T -List Quest. And this episode features
the longest fight sequence the series has ever
seen. What did you think about the armies battling
each other, the He -Man and Skeletor battling
each other, this alien presence overlooking things?
What do you think about the plot for the arena?
We actually have... We actually see the attorney
in war. Like, you know... Okay, sure, Transformers
the movie could technically be considered part
of the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons
as one of the bigger battles. But... You always
hear, oh, before the war, oh, after the war,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Here, we actually
see the war between Eternia and Snake Mountain,
and that is amazing. I think that's really, really
great. I can't believe, I don't know if it's
the way the story is written, but I cannot believe
that Randor is so open and trusting to this alien
being. That led to some... Little hiccups in
the plot too that I thought Yeah Overall, it
was probably the best episode of what we're talking
about today I did really enjoy it. We finally
really get to see a knockdown dragout battle
of He -Man and Skeletor, even though they really
don't do anything to each other. I mean, Skeletor
is just standing there blasting at him and creating
this giant spider, and He -Man is just fending
off the blast with his sword. I mean, not that
I expect in this series He -Man and Skeletor
to go sword staff fight, but it's like it'd be
nice to see them actually in hand -to -hand combat,
because this was anything but hand -to -hand
combat. Yeah, I enjoy the whole battle thing.
I enjoyed that for the first time in a long time,
kind of get this whole drawn -out battle with
everybody and then with the two people. So that
was kind of a cool premise. You know, I guess
it's cool that we have another alien of some
sort contact, but I don't know. It's always the
ball of light or something like that. Yeah, and
see, that's the other thing that I'm sorry to
cut you off, but that's the other thing that
kind of pisses me off about this episode as I'm
thinking about it. This is the first alien being
that they've seen in 79 other episodes. That's
horse crap because they've been, they've gone
off world. I've seen them go to a different planet
at least one time in the past seven or so. Well,
I think it was more so about the first being
that they come across that they didn't already
know existed, I guess. Because they know trial
exists, and they know a couple of these other
places exist, or that people have been banished
to this place or that place, but they've never
had contact with just a completely foreign entity
that they have no knowledge about, I guess. So
it's the first unknown experience. OK, and I
can get behind that with the exception of the
fact that technically, all these other planets
and dimensions are not of Aeternia, so they are
alien to the Aeternians. Right, alien but known.
Yeah. I guess is the qualification there. I guess.
All right, well let's see what kind of things
that you liked about the arena. This is not good.
I cannot allow this to take place. It is wasteful.
It is wrong. There will be too much needless
suffering. Instead of all this fighting, I will
select one single warrior from each side. The
most powerful and representative warrior. The
winner will decide the conflict. And I will decide
the fate of the losing side. I have spoken. arena.
First of all, things I like. Cool goblin army
force. I thought that was kind of a cool idea
to bring this like actual military, militaristic
type species that has everything kind of set
up. So it's not just the evil warriors acting
like an army, it's an actual army. That was a
cool thing. Like the extended fight scene like
this, like I said, that's cool. I like the idea
of then narrowing it down to human and Skeletor.
And oh, the convenient mind wipe angle. where
we mind wipe everybody so that nobody has any
knowledge of what just happened. But overall,
a lot of cool things happening that we hadn't
gotten in a while for this episode. What about
you? You said mind wipe. All I can think of is,
I have no need for your scientific toys when
I have my extrasensory powers. Mind wipe from
rebirth from transformers Transformers of course
um this episode when they're Bart when Skeletor
and the general are bartering It feels like something
I would read out of the Arthurian legend it feels
like something out of the days of Camelot It's
like you know you do this for me Yeah, and then
I will give you this this and this and it's like
ah the pact is sealed and blah blah blah The
deal is done, so I liked it. I thought it was
interesting This episode is kind of awesome,
but it seems like you know you already mentioned
this that we've seen the solution before You
know the whole you know I mean hell this entire
series the The house of randor is built around
memories being erased which we will get to once
we hit a certain princess You know so it didn't
really surprise me that they did that Um, the
battle between He -Man and Skeletor, even though
they don't really, as I said earlier, they don't
really do like hand to hand, you know, punching
each other or swinging the sword and staff at
each other. I did really like the battle. I thought
that was great. Um, and you, you might have this
as a snake mountain moment, but, and the power
of love saved them all again. Not as bad as when
it was that other time. So I didn't have as big
of a problem with it, but I do have some problems
with some other things, so let's get to what
those are. Tell me about this army of yours.
It is a multi -attack force composed of laser
-armed airships, jet -packed paratroopers, thundelizard
cavalry, robot assault walkers, and 500 goblin
infantry troops. Wonderful! Soon I will imprison
King Randor and his royal family. And the payment?
Each soldier will receive 10 ,000 gold pieces,
half in advance and half on the fall of Eternia.
And you, Tataran, will rule as governor of Eternia
in my name! Alright. Some bad things about the
arena. First of all, speaking to aliens using
microphones. That's how you speak to that alien
entity. Use this microphone and speak into that.
That just seemed weird to me. I don't know why,
but it seemed weird. then not just talking to
the aliens using the microphone, but then we
cut away and we cut back and Randor is actually
telling the alien through the microphone the
secrets of Castle Grayskull Yeah, that was pretty
bad You just met this alien thing and now you're
telling him some of the most important things
about your Culture and your way of life not smart
So Randor, I don't know if you're the king that
I want ruling over my people. And Om and He -Man's
obviously both being voiced by John Irwin, but
they're so similar that the scenes where Om and
He -Man are actually talking to each other are
very weird. There's a few times where it confuses
you if you're not paying real close attention
to what's going on there, because their voices
are basically the same. It's, I don't know if
they should have used those two, given those
two as many scenes where they're just specifically
talking right back and forth to each other. Right,
yeah. How about you? I just kind of sat through
this episode and watched it. I mean, I wrote
down the good moments that I liked, but there
really weren't... Usually when I find bad moments,
it's something to do with you know, some stupid
thing Tila did or some stupid thing Orko did
or some stupid thing He -Man did or Skeletor
did or something like that But I really didn't
find too many in here at all. I honestly don't
have any. Wow this time around. Yeah, I know
right? All right. Well, I guess if that's it,
then we'll see how we actually thought about
this episode and how it ranks against the ones
that we've already talked about today. It's him.
It's Om. He's here. I am Om. I come in peace.
We greet you, great Om. We welcome you to attorney
and we are glad you come in peace. We have much
to learn from each other. I see that one of your
rank is different. Who is the little creature?
Little creature? I happen to be one of the greatest
magicians of the land of Trawah. I see. How fascinating.
Tell me about this Trawah. By the grace of Eternia.
Gogol! Gogan! Where are you? We're under attack!
Free to the palace! Run! Run for safety! Alright
sir, what kind of hardware do you have to give
out for the arena? This might be a first. I'm
going to give a power sword to the entire battle.
The battle scene was just awesome and I will
give one each for He -Man and Skeletor for their
own separate battle. I do have to say before
we go any further really that I did think, and
I should have mentioned this in the plot, as
soon as I saw the title of this episode and what
this episode was going to entail, I thought Ohm
was going to take them. I know you haven't seen
this, but a lot of people have. There was an
episode of Justice League called War World where
this character brought all of these other characters
from around the globe to this one world to do
nothing but fight for their watching pleasure.
And that's really what I thought this was going
to be. I thought Ohm was going to take them to
some battle, you know, some WWE ring like thing
with an audience around them. That's really what
I thought this was going to be. And I was really
surprised that it wasn't. Hmm I can see that
So, what about you for hardware? I didn't really
have anybody that stood out either way for me
on this one I like the battle scene and I like
some of the things in this episode, but I didn't
really have anybody that's like That stood out
big -time. I guess now that I'm thinking about
it. I will give a havoc staff out to King randor
First for trusting this alien thing too much,
and then for giving out information that you
should not be giving out to alien forces. That's
true. So have it stabbed to King Randor. I'll
go with that. Episode reading wise, it was a
decent episode. I actually liked Betrayal of
Stratos a tiny bit more, but I will give this
one a three and a half Battle Cats. What about
you? I'm going to give it a four. I really like
the action in it. I like the battle scene itself.
I like the battle between He -Man and Skeletor.
I'm only really taking one point off for Randor's
stupidity. Yeah, that makes sense. So a three
and a half and a four for this one, making it
one of the better episodes today. Four and three
for Betrayal of Stratos, and obviously we didn't
necessarily like the Ice Age coming with a two
and a half and a one. So that does it for today.
We're going to take a break and we'll be right
back. Today, Stratos of Avion learned the true
value of forgiveness. When someone does something
we don't like, it can be hard to forgive. It's
at times like these that we must remember everyone
deserves a second chance. We all make mistakes.
And when we do, it's nice to have a friend who
will understand and give us another chance. Right,
my friend? See you next time. Grab your helmets
because it's time to assemble Mask. Mask Mayhem

how are things going at the weather station,
Phillip? Well, it's lots of work and plenty of
responsibility. But you know, part of growing
up is learning how to be a responsible person.
That's for sure. Whether a job is big or small,
it's nice when you know that you're the kind
of person people can depend upon to get the job
done. That's right, Tila. Being responsible means
you can be dependent upon. And that's a big step
toward becoming a winner. Pixels in the animation

we saw a terrible conflict between two opposing
forces. And in the end, the battle was not won
by some powerful weapon. It was won by a single
act of compassion. Compassion means caring for
others, wanting to help them. Fighting is often
not the way to settle a problem. It may prove
who is stronger, but it doesn't prove who is
right. And remember, sometimes it takes more
courage not to fight. See you soon. Alright,
so that does it for these three episodes. Anything
to say before we close out this show? We need
a Masters in the Universe movie already. We've
had four craptacular Transformers movies, we've
had two Lackluster, well, one Lackluster and
one LKGI Joe movie. We need a Masters movie,
damn it. About to have a Lackluster Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles movie. Oh, God. Yeah, we would
have already had that. We had some good ones
though to begin with, so that's alright. Yeah,
that's true. No, you know, I'm really excited.
I'm more excited right now to get to She -Ra
than I am to finish this series out. These episodes,
some are good, some are okay, and the rest so
far are just bad. I don't remember, and you can
probably tell me because you're the one that
does all the math, I don't remember the last
time I rated an episode five. Yeah, I don't think
I've rated any I could be wrong, but I don't
think I've rated any season two episodes a five
and It just that saddens me that this series
While it is good. It does have good moments It
does have funny moments with orco and cringer
and sometimes with orc cringer and Adam It's
not what I remember from my childhood. Maybe
it's because I didn't watch all of these episodes
every single day in my childhood, but the ones
that I do remember, it's like, wow, that really
wasn't what I remember it being. Yeah. We got
some left. I'm holding out hope there's still
some gems in here that we'll still see in this
final 50 episodes or so. and some new characters
that we haven't seen yet. So I still have a little
bit of hope, but I am also looking forward to
this year apart. Yeah. Alright, thank you for

it? Yes, it is. But don't you dare tell him I
said so!
