About this Episode

The hosts discuss their impressions of the Deadpool video game, debating whether fan service compensates for its gameplay issues and frame rate drops. They also compare the game to the Batman Arkham series and discuss the general trends of licensed movie games. Finally, the group shares their initial thoughts on The Last of Us, focusing on its emotional opening, stealth mechanics, and resource management.

we tell you what we've been doing for the last

month. because now we yay month it's oh my god

it's gonna be legit we get to talk about ourselves

we have to go back through this again because

we're here and we would do this on a more consistent

basis lately I don't think you would be getting

so hard listening to your voice we've done it

consecutively like the last month why are you

still why are you still getting hard why because

your voice it's so damn sexy Okay, it soothes

him in it doesn't anything if anything can make

some things more rough Mike's voice just has

that effect on his penis region. Okay, that's

the last voice you heard was Art Danner The man

having problems in his pants is Sean Z Brown

problems for you, maybe It's only a problem if

you don't agree with the The rousing applause.

I was going to say it's only a problem if you

don't fix it. It's not a problem. And we have

Joe Reed as Joe Reed. Stop pointing at me. The

one hiding in the corner in stunned awkward silence.

Yeah, me too. Stop pretending like you're the

innocent one. Oral typo. That's all I got to

say. Oh, man. So who wants to go first with their...

The brood of the podcast. I want Dander to go

first because I want to hear about Deadpool.

Okay. Let's talk about Deadpool. I hear the disc

looks like a plate of pancakes. It does. It's

fantastic. So I've only put about two hours into

Deadpool so far. It's okay. I would say as far

as gameplay goes, it's kind of meh meh. And as

far as fan service goes, it's a beat -em -up

badass. It's awesome. I mean, if you're a comic

book fan, a Marvel fan, if you're a Deadpool

fan, pick up the game. You're going to enjoy

it no matter what. OK, that's the game did kind

of spur a conversation between me and Liam, one

of the guys that I converse often with on Facebook

who lives in the UK because he was curious about

the game. And I did. Say that, you know, at some

points, I had a few. Frame rate drop issues,

which were, I mean, it happened twice, and I

will admit that I was downloading a bunch of

stuff at the exact same time on my PlayStation,

so that could have contributed. That was it.

Well, that could have been a contributing factor

because I was downloading the new. Which is a

virtue's last reward for the Vita at the time

doesn't oh wait were you downloading on the Vita?

Are you downloading it to your PlayStation for

the Vita to my PlayStation for the Vita? I thought

it was like the 360 and that it suspended downloads

while you played. I think it's only if you're

online certain games it will like It'll still

download in the back. Oh, yeah, because there's

no online components at Deadpool. I'm pretty

sure that it was Downloading still but regardless

those are few and far between The biggest discussion

that we got into today, which is going to lead

to my rant for today is How We as gamers or we

as fans more so Let licensed games slide because

of fan service over gameplay which I've noticed

this is, especially with a lot of games, I mean,

if the fan service is done properly, there's

certain things that us as gamers, as us as hardcore

gamers, or casual gamers, we would never let

those game mechanics slide in a different kind

of game. Now, like in, say, say in Fallout 3,

love the game, one of my favorite games. But

I still think it's really really crappy that

that game has the horrendous frame rate and drop

in texture issues that it has And for a game

of that quality, I wouldn't expect that when

it comes to a game like Deadpool having like,

you know some small very small issues I I have

you know, I'll let it go because of the fan service

or you know movie games in general were like

the Spider -Man franchise, where you kind of

know what you're going to get with an open world

web slinging type of a thing, and you play it

because of what it is, but you let the repetition

and the lack of detail that you would typically

get from your AAA titles slide in that kind of

case, because of the licensing. Because you're

playing as frickin' Spider -Man. Because you're

playing as Spider -Man. And Bruce Campbell's

narrating the tutorial. Oh god, I love that part.

Goes away to eat a sandwich and comes back and

he's actually don't try this at home. Your house

isn't nearly tall enough the Certain licensed

games I feel lately have ruined it for us because

of the fact they've shown us how it can properly

be done basic I'm totally going after the Batman

series for this because of the fact that they've

shown us what a A licensed game can be like with

triple -a standards and I know when Mike asked

me to compare Deadpool to a game earlier when

he texted me asked me to compare it to Arkham

Asylum and to Lollipop Chainsaw two completely

different games two completely different games

which number one I don't even have a basis to

go off for Lollipop Chainsaw because I've never

played the game I have no idea how it plays I

will say that the one thing that indefinite like

complete hardcore comparison between Deadpool

and Batman Batman has a Probably one of the tightest

fighting mechanics I've found in a game I love

I love the flow and how easy everything kind

of combines combines together when you're fighting

and how everything just seems like the flow mechanics

where everything just seems Seamless with the

combos no matter kind of what you're doing as

long as you time things correctly I don't really

get that in Deadpool the fighting is not bad,

but whatever Whatever is stuff. I like about

the fighting Automatically gets struck down by

the camera positioning because the camera has

the camera feels like it's slightly too close

and It wobbles a little too much when you're

can you adjust? Can you adjust? I gotta see if

I can adjust the sensitivity because that's the

one thing that seems to be bothering me right

now is I will adjust the camera out of frame

of when I'm fighting and it doesn't really stick

with the action sometimes. And the camera for

me has been a little bit of an issue. Well, like

most of the things I feel have been kind of like

a nitpick for Deadpool because everything like

fanservice wise, like I said. The couple hours

I'm in so far are fantastic. The other thing

that I will say about Deadpool is the fact that

it's a maturated game, a comic book game, and

they very much so take advantage of it. So he

kills the shit out of people. Oh, he kills the

loving good god. There's a sneak up combo that

you can do where he sneaks up behind somebody.

And then you hit the button to do the the the

sneak up combo. He turns he breaks the third

wall He tells you to be quiet and then he jumps

over tops jumps over top flips in front of him

pulls out his swords cuts both their arms off

and Then go whoops my bad heads up and then crosses

the swords and then pops his head straight off

and I'm just like badass There's other ones were

like he just grabs them and then grabs the gun

and just unloads a clip between their eyes Like

the silent kills are awesome and they're varied.

They don't repeat back to back to back to back.

So it switches it up like every time you do one

of these. I wouldn't say it's not going to repeat

eventually, but they do, you know, add for some

variance. The other cool thing is because of

the regeneration, every hit that you take with

the bullet rips apart your clothes and just rips

you to shreds like they did in the Wolverine.

game. I was going to ask you about this. How

it was very similar to that, except eventually

your costume does regenerate as well. But that's

fine. I will accept that. But even when you die,

it shows you in the state of how messed up you

were him talking to you. Like, so if he gets

shot in the face a bunch, his mask will be completely

gone and be portions of his skull talking to

you. And it's that's been pretty sweet. And Nolan

North is ridiculous in this game so far. Because

he does Deadpool's voice and then Deadpool's

sophisticated personality that's inside of his

head that he argues with and his screwball personality

inside of his head. Which all three of them are

constantly arguing throughout the entire game.

And the dialogue keeps switching up and there

hasn't been a lot of repeated stuff at all. So

it's been... There's a lot of content there.

I know from a lot of the reviews I... read that

it completely falls apart in the very end of

the game to basically set up a couple jokes at

the very end but they basically just toss you

an arena at the end and then send all the villains

from the entire game at you at once so um so

and yeah so i mean i'm enjoying the game and

i think it's going to be a perfect it's a perfect

game to pick up For anybody that's, anybody's

a Deadpool fan and plays games, totally buy it.

Totally gonna be up your alley, you're gonna

love the, they nailed the essence of Deadpool's

comic book very well. And then the cameos by

quite a few X -Men in the game, lot of fan service,

the first group of people you fight are marauders.

Which he keeps making fun of them for being D

list villains the entire time which is But Yeah,

I'm just I'm interested in your opinions of what

you guys think about the fact of Essentially

fan service winning out over Solid gameplay well,

I when you brought that up and you brought up

fallout I couldn't help but, like, for me, a

game like that, it's the errors and the bugs

or whatnot in the game are, for me, those types

of games are trumped by what was being achieved

with the game. Like, the world that they ended

up, that they were able to craft by, you know,

it was so large that they couldn't anticipate

everything. I remember, you know, Fallout 3 had,

like, the crabs that would walk upright. Yeah,

and some other funny glitches and stuff like

that Even Skyrim has dragons that flew backwards

Well, that was a patch thing that they Well,

yeah, but I think they fixed and they fixed the

crabs with fallout 3 2 with a patch I mean, it's

just it's it's for me It's the thing the thing

for me is I mean, I don't know if you've noticed

this trend is the fact that with a lot of licensed

games Once the studio is done with it. There's

it doesn't get much. It doesn't get much help.

There's no support With those triple -a titles

there's support and there's patches and they

fix the issues that are going wrong with the

game, but like Well the Incredible Hulk game

that was based off of the movie which was very

very very similar to ultimate destruction So

I picked it up, but the problem with that game

was is there was a game system crashing error

in that game that if you knocked more than four

buildings down in that game totally just destroyed

it like locked your system up froze everything

up completely killed your system they never patched

that they never fixed that well could this I

mean this doesn't just necessarily go for licensed

games doesn't uh Zelda have one of those issues?

Where you were talking about at the at the sale?

I don't like to discuss things that Nintendo

does because I don't really count them as a game

company anymore. Oh But I mean do they patch

their games I mean they did not I've never seen

a patch for a Nintendo game But my we didn't

work long enough for me to figure it out and

in there in Nintendo's defense. I Never okay

Can't think of a single glitch that I've ever

encountered that was even remotely game breaking

in a Nintendo game I think their quality control

on that has always been Like okay, if we find

a glitch in this game that you made game freak

We're gonna kill all of you. We're gonna make

all of you commit seppuku. So no glitches and

That and that one big one and let Zelda Twilight

Princess With the memory on the Wii, they could

have patched it. Only some moron could possibly

have even discovered that glitch. Well, but apparently

there's enough morons out there. Well, I was

one of those morons, so. I mean, could that have

been a result of putting it on two systems? Because

I don't think they've done that before. Isn't

Twilight Princess the first one that was on both

the Wii and the GameCube? What are you talking

about? They put games on multiple systems all

the time now. I mean. I know what you mean. I'm

giving you a hard time. Shut your face. Yeah.

So, I mean, I guess they only the licensed games

I kind of avoid movie games. Yeah. Movie games.

We've all been trained to do that. That's just

something how it happens. With the exception

of obviously being Arkham. Well, that wasn't

a movie game. Well, but still it's still a licensed

property. I mean, that's yeah. I guess there

was no reason to trust Arkham. Let's just put

it that way. Well, I mean, because like I've

picked up movie games before, but I think this

because I don't know how to learn my own lessons.

And I've always I always know what to expect

when I go to a movie game I know it's going to

be a Mediocre gaming experience and if I the

only time I ever want to pick it up is because

I really like Either a they come out in a point

in time where there ain't shit coming out like

Deadpool Isn't coming out around anything. It's

coming out on the it's right in the middle of

the limbo of starting the limbo of summer Two

weeks after last of us in the ring cracked till

September. Um, I guess so it's a rainbow six

Las Vegas, too But Like I picked up the Batman

begins game Because it was a Batman game and

don't get me wrong. It wasn't a great game But

I I'll I knew it was a movie game and it was

a Batman game And that was, you know, before,

you know, we had good Batman games. It was probably

one of the better Batman games that came out

until Arkham Asylum came out. I mean, it was

a very Splinter Cell -esque type of a game. But

it. Sam Fisher has horns. Yeah, it was basically

any fight you went into, you had to intimidate

and do things to make them. Be afraid of you

before you can engage them You had to basically

make them poop their pants So they would drop

their guns because if you went headlong into

any gunfight you would die instantly Those mechanics

sound an awful lot like what ended up in Arkham

Yeah, and it I think there was some groundwork

laid there because there was some things done,

right? But by no means was it a perfect game

but it just seems like Is it because of the fact

that we've been gamers for so long that we just

don't really fall into that, you know movie game

license game Trap that we used to is it mainly

is License games mainly at this point in time

just aimed towards The newer or more casual gamers

to get them in that trap It's aimed at 12 year

old boys and their moms who say oh he likes That

property I will buy that game. Well, I was gonna

say is it is it basically just the response to

a marketing blitz? Yes all movie games really

are just a to fill that need and to get those

people that just get so hyped up by going to

see a 120 minute film on the big screen and they're

like I want more of this and then they you know

go out and buy a video game that is very loosely

based on the subject matter and is usually completely,

you know, built and designed around something

that has absolutely nothing to do with the movie.

Yes. Yeah. I... I just... I don't know. I feel

like... I know the Mad Max game that they showed

off at the PlayStation 4 press conference. Oh

my god, that was so depressing. That was... you

know, that... That was actually being made for

the movie and then the movie got postponed, but

they're still going ahead with Yeah with the

game. They just I think they kind of change directions

with it and for me I mean, I don't know if I'll

play mad max but I'm tempted to tell my wife

about it because she likes the Just Cause series

and It's made by the same people So I think I

think for us, I think the license games, the

movie license games are geared towards like the

guys that go to the movies and they're like,

oh man, I really like Star Trek. I hope there's

more of that. And, you know, they get a Star

Trek game. Yeah. It just seems like they go after

the dude bros that, you know, buy the Madden

games and buy Call of Duty every year. It just

seems like that's the kind of, it doesn't seem

like they're geared towards me necessarily. I

also ran out and bought Deadpool the day it came

out because, well, mostly because of the fact

that I had $40 in gift cards and it only cost

me 10 bucks out of pocket. That was the main

reason. Yeah, I was going to say. So how much

was that? That's it's only 50 bucks. OK, I was

going to say it wasn't a full price. Yeah, it

wasn't a full price, which was also because it

was one of those things that I actually had it

made up in my mind. I was like. Well, I don't

really want to spend 20 bucks on it. That seems

like, you know, more than I'm willing to commit

to it. And then when I saw it was 50, I was like,

screw it, I'm buying it. 10 bucks was like my

drawing point. I was like, yeah, okay, I'll buy

it for 10 bucks. But that's mostly because of

the fact that I figure it's going to be short.

I figured I probably could get through it in

a week, and I figured I could probably put it

up on eBay and make 40 bucks on it and then put

it towards my PS4. I just, I don't think they're,

I don't think the license games are necessarily

for the dude bros. I think they're kind of like

what Joe was saying. They're for the, the kids

that are into that kind of thing. And the parents

see the game and it's, you know, it's like, but

they automatically kind of, with Deadpool, they

automatically kind of cut around that it's not

for the kids because of the fact that they made

it mature rated. Well, yeah, but it's, I don't

think Deadpool is going to sell nearly as well

as let's just say Transformers, the movie game

three. Yeah. because one out of all comic book

fans, maybe 15 % of them give a care who Deadpool

is. And then when you bring them to the video

game world, you're cutting off at least a few

of those comic fans. I don't think it's going

to sell well. I don't think I mean, Activision

marked it down 10 bucks, and I don't think they've

been marketing the game at all. It's basically

become not really. I was going to say, I think

Marvel's been doing more marketing for it than

anything. And I think a lot of it has been more

Internet buzz and Twitter. than anything else

for that game, but I think that's a game that

can honestly move better on a social media response

than it's going to move from an advertisement

on TV. I agree. The commercials on YouTube are

absolutely freaking ingenious too. They're really

well done. I think the marketing that they have

done has been pretty spot on because it speaks

directly... I mean, it's a game that is directed

towards a very specific... group Yes, but I don't

think it's the same group that movie licenses

go after Yeah, I don't cuz when I think of movie

licensed games that to me is just an extension

of like some producer like all let's make this

cheap -ass toy will sell with it except for gamers

Like hey you guys got seven months before this

one make me a game that Whatever is about this

movie go. That's a trend that started with ET

yeah yeah I mean it's the one thing also I think

in the favor of Deadpool's effect that I like

the game development studio I like High Moon

I've always liked High Moon they did one of the

transform they did a good Transformers game didn't

they they did both they did both of them they

did rise of Cybertron or fall of Cybertron and

war for Cybertron which I own or for Cybertron

oh that weren't like some stuff of a movie Yeah,

and they also did um on the Xbox they did dark

watch which was a Fun ass first person shooter

they did it that was I think that was really

the first Game that studio did to be honest.

I'm kind of surprised high moon hasn't gone the

way of bizarre I Know I'm kind of what did bizarre

do well first they made geometry wars, but they

also made blur and they made some they They -

I think they did - didn't they do the Project

Gotham games? Wasn't that there? Yeah, they ended

up taking over, I believe, the Project Gotham

series. So it's - it's - it's weird, and, you

know, they - they released Blur - Activision

released Blur from them with zero fan service,

kinda like this, and then they just shut the

studio down because, guess what, it didn't sell.

Well, you don't say. I mean, granted, I guess

Fall for Cybertron and War for Cybertron have

done... fairly well, um, but it seems like...

High Moon is one of Activision's studios that's

barely hanging on. They're always one game away

from being shut down. The other thing I want

to say, especially with Activision's track record

lately when it comes to the Marvel license games,

has been... I think Deadpool is a better example

of what they can possibly do when they put it

in the right hands, but... I mean, all the things

I've heard about the last two Spider -Man games

have been terrible. I heard nothing but bad things

about X -Men Legacy. So, it's one of those things

that, it just, it seems to me that Activision

isn't doing a very good job with their Marvel

licensing lately. Or not finding a very good

developers, because Destiny was made by, uh,

who are those guys? Or X -Men Destiny, that's

what it was. Uh, the Silicone Knights. Yeah.

Yeah, well, now they had to burn every copy of

that game anyways, so... And for some reason,

you still can't find that game for cheaper than

30 bucks anywhere, which is appalling to me.

Because I will totally buy it if I can find it

for 10 bucks, just to see how bad it is. Excellent

Destiny? Yeah. I would expect to see that one

go up, considering they can't make it anymore

at all. Yeah. Well, same thing with Marvel Ultimate

Alliance, too. It's impossible to find that thing

under 40 bucks anywhere. Yeah, I got it for 35

Oh, I'm sorry, it's hard. It's hard to hear you

with my penis in your mouth That's right You

can't see my face from this I think I think we

should dumb is Superman Take that back. Okay,

it's pretty dumb. So Think we should I think

we should actually save the movie license conversation

like I know we had like Yeah, but I think we

could actually make that into a topic all its

own. Oh, yeah I think so too like the good movie

license games bad movie license games My rant

went a little long I guess I could finish what

I've been playing Well hang on hang on before

you do that let's go ahead and we'll take a break

and we'll come back and we'll finish up what

you've been the rest of what you've been playing

Pixels in the Animation is the next cartoon review

podcast series in the GeekCast Radio Network's

long history of review series. We've had Transformers,

He -Man, and Mask as far as the cartoon review

podcasts we have done. Now we bring in TV's Mr.

Neil as he and TFG and Mike break down nine video

game cartoon series. Steve Megatron will join

us for the Mega Man and Sonic episodes. We'll

be reviewing and analyzing every episode of the

Mario, Zelda, Captain and Mega Man, Donkey Kong,

and Sonic. Sonic Cartoons. You can expect us

to go in depth and also talk about the game franchises

that spawn these cartoons. So tune in Summer

2013 as we find the pixels in the animation.

And we're back on the other side of the break

and Dan is gonna finish up with what he's been

playing. So I've also been playing Last of Us

which I haven't put very much time into. I know

I'm sure Michael go off a little bit more than

I will about it. I don't think I think three

hours in isn't enough for me to formulate an

opinion, but I will say that I don't think I'm

nearly as impressed with it as all the reviewers

seem to be. I will agree with you on that. And

that's all I'm going to say about it. Like I

said, I want to put more time into it before

I really Hammer down how I feel about it. I have

one question about it. Yes. Is the opening as

awe -inspiring amazing as everybody says? Yes.

The openings are fantastic. I've heard that like

with the exception of maybe Dead Space 2 It's

one of the and like infinite and stuff like that

that it's probably within the top like five openings

in the last couple years I would put it on very

much on par with the opening of infinite I think

it was a little more emotionally draining than

the opening. It's really a one -two punch to

the nuts. To me, at least that's how I took it.

The things that it does in the opening that I

found very impressive is it gets you connected

with your main character very quickly. So it's

like the first five minutes of Up. Yes. Yes.

Completely. The only is the best way for me to

compare it to anything. Yes What's weird is I

don't have I don't have kids obviously, but I

was almost made me cry like I had like there

were there were you know tears in my eyes if

I blinked they would have been down my cheeks,

but It was it was quite It was crazy I think

I'm I'm like six or seven hours in that the my

save says I'm about 50 % of the way through the

game I'm I'm really enjoying the game But I do

agree with Danner is is that I don't think it's

me granted. I haven't read any one of these reviews

I've just seen the scores of like 10 out of 10

9 out of 10 Blah blah blah. I don't know I've

read a few of the reviews and it's that one of

them was I read polygons because of it was the

Worst scored review that I've seen so far and

I was curious to see what their issues were with

it So I read that one and I listened to Sessler's

review and there was like two other ones that

I read also and like a Lot of them said that

it yes. It wasn't a perfect game But I think

it was more so the overarching experience and

story and the combination of everything is what

they were talking about. And that's why if I

have a hard time judging it with only being three

hours into it, I don't feel like I've experienced

enough of what's going on in the game to truly

discern what how great or epic or not epic this

game is. But I mean, I'm enjoying it, but I also

get that How do I want to put it? The Requiem

for a Dream feeling with it where it's like I

really want to sit down and play it, but I need

to be in, I have to be in the right frame of

mind and be willing to be emotionally drained

in order to sit down and play it because it is

not a happy game. It is not a happy -go -lucky

game. It is a constant worst case scenario kind

of on the edge of your seat type of a game or

the You'd never have enough bullets. You never

have enough resources and you have to be very

very smart and patient Now I in that game the

way I'm playing it. Okay, you could be playing

a completely different way I'm not discounting

that you can't go balls ass crazy and just go

around just wrecking crap constantly That's not

the way I'm taking that's not the way I'm approaching

the game Okay well now I guess I guess this where

this is where it comes down because you know

you said you're you're constantly worried about

your ammo and and your crafting supplies and

I I One of the things I've enjoyed about the

game is outside of like the opening tutorial

phase, I didn't fire my gun for about five to

six hours in the game. And I was very disappointed

when the game forced me to do it. Because I just

felt like, ah, you couldn't have done you've

done such a good job so far. You couldn't have

found another way to do this. And I Honestly

wonder I kind of want to go and load up uncharted

to see just to check something because I feel

like they address something They try to address

a lot of the criticisms of the uncharted series

with last of us, which is An uncharted we've

talked about before you basically walk into an

arena and you're locked into it until you kill

everybody Yeah, and I feel like with the last

of us When I walk into an arena because they

see the arena still exists But I feel like if

I know the way out, I can get out of there without

killing anybody. And I've done that a couple

of times where I've just gone right. I've stealthed

around at least five guys and made it to the

exit of the arena and gotten out without having

to engage anybody, stealth, kill or otherwise,

which I really appreciate because, like I said,

I didn't pull my gun for about five or six hours.

And so by the time I actually felt like By the

time the game started pushing my buttons and

I was banging my head against the wall trying

to be stealthy, you know, figure out the stealth

puzzle and attack it that way. Be smart about

it. Don't use your gun. I feel like by the time

I got fed up with it and just started using my

gun, I've had plenty of ammo. Because I sometimes

I feel like I'm barreling forward, but I'm always

sneaking around and checking drawers and stuff

like that I guess that's one of the things that

kind of annoys me about the game is there isn't

there aren't enough lootable objects So if there

is yeah, it's just about to me too because it

just there feels like there's so many places

in that game Where there should be spots to loot

yeah, and I can't tell you how many desks I've

gone up to it was like oh sweet I can open the

drawer But the one next to - There's nothing

in here! There's never anything in here! Or,

or, or, the one desk you can't loot, but the

one right next to it, you can. Like - Yeah. Yeah,

the looting seems very, like, I don't know. I

think the looting thing is ruined for me because

of the fact that you can open, like, everything

in Fallout. Well, I'm wondering how - And look

at everything. I wonder how much it has to do

with your difficulty setting. Like maybe if you're

playing on easy, you open up a drawer and they

always have something in it. But I don't know

about you, Dan, because I don't know if we've

actually talked about this. Are you playing on

hard? No, you are. I'm playing on normal. Yeah,

I'm playing on hard. I have actually seen that

screen once where it's like, if you want to,

you can always turn the difficulty setting down.

So you can stop banging your head against the

wall, and you know I didn't do it But for some

reason the game decided to throw ammo on the

ground magically Probably called guilty for you

it did and I I don't know for me This is another

one of those games because we're at the end of

the generation where it's it's a lot easier to

point out what What is me doing wrong or or what

isn't good about it? Then it is to talk about

what is good about it For me, I don't know why

but I've been ragging on this on the AI in this

game Like crazy. I think it's I I don't know

as a person who's not paying attention to the

game at all That's the thing that I've heard

too is people crapping on the AI like I don't

understand I've heard stupid things like you

can be stealthfully hiding Yep, and then your

partner whatever her name is Ellie. Yeah will

come she's not hiding. She's just walking It

was a design choice. I did find out that Naughty

Dog specifically designed it that way because

they didn't want your party members to hinder

your gameplay experience. So basically it only

matters what your main character is doing as

far as stealth. It doesn't matter who any of

the computer controlled characters what they're

doing because they didn't want the computer controlled

characters to make things insanely difficult

for you. Now that being said, I would hope Hope

hope hope that I would love to see a game plus

mode on Which I know there's a game plus mode

on the game. There's four of them Yeah, but I

would love to see one where they're That they

screw that up for you I would love to see them

make it more difficult for you and that they

have the AI of the game pay attention to where

everybody is in your party and I I'm kind of

hoping that there's a patch or an update or something

either make your partner smarter or make them

smarter so you can't exactly Your partner's screwing

everything up for you I mean and that might make

well deter some people But I wouldn't mind seeing

a game plus mode like that on well for me it

It does to one thing is this it does two things

one. It's actually allowed me to make it through

the game And the flip side of that is It's allowed

me to make it through the game because it snaps

me out of being in the game Because like like

Sean's you brought up The AI gets a little out

of control. I don't know Dana. Have you been

in the school yet? the I Just got out of the

subway system after the Capitol building and

I'm walking into the woods right now. That is

as far as I've gotten Okay, so you're almost

there Yeah, there's this There's a there's a

segment where you're you're in a school. It's

not it's not really spoilers It's just nothing

really big happens there. It's just like every

other thing It's like a mini arena map thing,

but all that's in there are the clickers Which

are the nothing good in the game ever happens

when a school is involved or a school bus is

involved Yeah, that's always horrible horrible

things are about to happen or dog cages Well,

okay. First of all you get chased into the school

So I immediately when I ran in the door, I started

running down the hallway to get away from the

door. I just came in and Then I run into five

clickers And what are clickers? They're the they're

the infected people. They're the they're the

they've been long infected The clickers are they

they attack you and they hit you you're dead.

There is no coming back from it Do they still

just look like people that have fungus on their

face? They don't look like normal people They

the there's an upgrade you can get so you can

kill them But it takes so you up you like level

up almost yes But so I I went running down the

hallway and I ran into five clickers and I died

immediately And I was like well what the hell

so then I realized that it took me like Four

or five times to realize that I don't have to

run down the hallway because nothing's kind of

come through the door behind me So I kind of

started stealth in my way down and i'm like,

okay I got to figure out where everybody is got

to figure out where all the enemies are so I

can recognize their patterns Meanwhile, i've

got elly i'm i'm walking around in a crowd's

position i've got elly running side to side knocking

over bottles kicking You know running up in front

of me getting in the way of the ai the enemy

ai So they have to like they sit there and just

like bump into each other like they're grinding

on a dance floor And i'm just like this Wow,

okay any tension you just built up you threw

out the window because I'm watching two computer

-controlled characters get it on in the middle

of my screen and Have her be crouched behind

you and that be her behavior script and sometimes

they do that like I but even then that ends up

being really funny like the when we're at the

gate garage sale I was talking about with somebody

about Another area where I was trying to be stealthy,

but this time you're not fighting against clickers.

You're fighting against regular humans and there

was an air conditioning unit and It was myself

and three other people in my party at this time,

and I'm crouched behind this air conditioning

unit They're all crouched right behind me like

it was like a freaking congo line behind this

thing And I waited for the AI to get halfway

past the air conditioner, and then I vaulted

over top of the air conditioner And then three

other people vaulted over it after me while this

guy was still walking past the air conditioner.

And they all got down on the other side and crouched.

It was like a clown car in stealth mode. It was

so messed up. And then when the guy came back

from his walking routine, I did the same thing

in reverse, got halfway past the air conditioner,

I vaulted over the other side, the other three

people came with me, and then I was like, okay,

well now I'm gonna go try and stealth kill this

guy to get him out of here. Well, for some reason,

the other three AI characters decided to run

ahead of me, and all got around him, except then,

again, they got in his AI path, so the four,

the enemy and the three guys that were with me

started doing a whole... Dancing a jig right

in front of me, and I was like well again there

goes all the tension you build up And I was like

I was trying to like be very careful about You

know making sure I got up behind the guy before

one of my characters bumped him into turning

around So they would see me, and I'm like this

is just I I don't understand how you can I mean

obviously it's a limitation of the hardware But

I have to think that if like if anything like

this shows up in the next generation of consoles

That's just unacceptable. I mean I understand

that you went for your AI trade -off was for

enemy scripting and Like clearly it all went

to visuals but you put so much work into building

up this environment in your game and you have

you know friendly AI that Doesn't abide by any

of the laws And it doesn't even fake it Yeah,

and it's... it's fine if they can only see me,

but there's no reason Ellie should be running

ahead of me and... I mean, at least give me the

illusion that, oh man, they could catch her at

any time and I have to go save her. No, it's...

she can run wherever she wants, kick over any

bottles. It's like, as long as they don't see

me, I'm perfectly fine. And it's... it doesn't

make me feel any tension for her. And so, like,

when stuff happens later, it's kind of like...

Well, they didn't notice her before so why do

they notice her now? I don't understand what's

happening. I Don't know I'm I Don't want to sound

like I'm ragging on it because I am enjoying

the game And like I said this stuff is actually

kind of helping me get through the game because

I don't think I'd actually You wouldn't be you

if you didn't find something to bitch about in

something you enjoy Yeah, I just it just seems

like it's a big oversight, but I guess I hit

Naughty Dog really hasn't done The companion

thing in one of their games I mean you've had

a companion in all the Uncharted games, but they

don't really play the role that Ellie plays in

this game Oh, and they've been able to defend

themselves at will so I Don't know but like I

said the I I enjoyed the opening I thought the

opening was great. Everyone's not wrong about

that. I just Don't really see other than presentation

I don't see how this game can get 10 out of 10s.

Yeah. I'll agree with that. I don't, like I said,

I don't want to, I don't want to completely pass

judgment until I've gotten through the game and

experienced as a whole, but I, I don't, I'm not,

so far I'm not seeing the, yeah, 10 out of 10s,

the nine out of 10s that the reviews are giving

it. I'm, I think it's definitely a solid eight

so far, but. Like I said, I don't want to pass

judgment until I get all the way through it I'm

I'm a whole I want to see the whole picture before

you know, I start shitting all over it completely

so But So yeah last of us, um, I've also been

playing Played a lot of the free stuff on Vita

lately Like the instant game collection stuff

like the instant game collection like a zombie

kid tycoon 2 which Isn't a great game, but for

some reason is that mildly addictive? I also

put a probably a good half hour in a germinator

which just makes me really wish it there was

a bubble bobble on the system because it's like

a bad version of bubble bobble Just not very

enjoyable and I really really like bubble bubble

and then I've been playing the only other I I

beat sly 3 Finally, yeah How long did that take

you too long? It took me way too long because

I mean I sly one is a short game Sly one literally

took me two days to get through I got through

sly two probably in a week and it took me three

months to get through Sly 3 just because it just

I don't know that game just dragged ass to me

like the moment you took the the collecting portion

of the game out for some reason a lot of the

the willingness to run around levels kind of

completely I don't know lost it for me I guess

I always kind of like collecting things in games

I'm I don't know, I'm that guy that seems to

like fetch quests. I don't have a good reason

for it, but I do. But for some reason that game

just like, the pirate ship level was just dreadfully

painful for me to get through. Because I couldn't

get the mechanics of fighting with the ships

down. And I just kept getting the crap kicked

out of me. To the point where I just started

avoiding all the ship battles. Eventually once

I upgraded the cannons I started doing the ship

battles and I started doing way better But it

just that the entire pirate sequence of that

game to me just it was such a Pace change for

the game. It just didn't feel right The and I

started playing sly for which after playing the

previous three games and then jumping into that

like holy freaking graphics wow that game is

just gorgeous uh the but the but the game mechanics

haven't changed at all like there's been as there's

literally zero gameplay difference between four

and the other three games well i think it's more

in common with two than yeah the thing that i

will say is it feels tighter and quicker Than

the other games, but I if it didn't I'd be very

disappointed because of the fact that it's I

mean, it's a next -gen game I mean work played

three ports and then played, you know the next

-gen game on the next -gen council compared to

the old Games from the ps2. So I mean if but

the same it was a little quicker in More polished

to be disappointed, but but I will say that the

I'm glad I played through three as painful as

it was Because they come the last portion of

going through the Cooper vault like you said

perfectly sets up everything that's going out

in four Yes, the fact that they introduce you

to every single one of these characters that

you're actually gonna come across in the game.

Yeah, it's fantastic It really seems like they

had a game they really laid the groundwork in

three for everything they're doing in Four. It

wasn't, we just want to do Four because we want

to do Sly Cooper game. They did Four because

it completely made sense to the things that Sucker

Punch left open in the story. Yeah, I agree with

that. Although the one thing I think that carries

over to Sly Four is the awful first level syndrome

of Sly games. See, I didn't... I haven't minded

any of the first levels. For some reason, maybe

it's because that's where all like the the learning

curve for each game is. It's just they always

feel so bland or simple. I think it could be

because they feel bland and simple because you

just finished a game where you knew how to do

everything and now you're in a level where they

need to explain to you how to do everything again.

And maybe that's why I just dislike the switch.

the issue, because I found that, I guess I did

find that same issue as well because of the fact

that I played every single one of them back to

back to back to back that it, to me, I mean,

that was an issue I I did find it was like, okay,

yeah, push the X to blah blah blah, yeah, we

gotta listen to Bentley explain this crap again

and it was just one of those things that I get

that portion of it and then find the level design

to be bad the tutorial stuff, I I think is completely

obnoxious in every single one of the games. I

think I think in slide for the first world was

just overwhelming to me and the amount of stuff

I know and I and I think that we had a lot the

fact that the do the fact that you went from

these three ports To sly for and it's just such

a like oh my god. There's all this stuff here.

Holy crap There's trash cans that you can beat

and plants you can beat and more enemies that

I've seen on screen in a very in three games

And it's just it's like almost overload because

it just colors and oh yeah, and God it's so gorgeous

um but So yeah, I've been playing the slide games

um and then I've been playing hitman absolution

also which for it's a big learning curve for

me because I'm not like the best itself stealth

games and I can go through like two or three

missions and not be detected at all and do really

really well and then I will just get stuck on

some component in a level and just lose my shit

and just start killing everybody And it's just,

I'm having a hard time of finding a very specific

way to play the game. I just feel like I'm all

over the place in that game. The game doesn't

make me feel dumb like Dishonored did, but I

know it's a gameplay choice when it comes to

Hitman. With Dishonored, I just couldn't figure

out... I couldn't figure out a good way to play

that game. I had a really hard time, you know.

Easing my way into a comfortable way to play

that game. We're hitman. It's Almost level based

depending on my comfort level on how I feel that

I can play it I think that's almost the same

way that I'm playing last of us It's like once

I bang my head against the wall so much trying

to do the stealth stuff I'm just gonna whip out

my shotgun and start killing fools Yeah So I

I'm pretty sure there's possibly something that

I've missed but I've eaten enough time, so Anybody

else like to go? Well, we'll take a break and

we'll come back and figure out who's gonna do

it on the other side So we'll be back Fifty years

ago, a little old man brought his little blue

box to a junkyard, and now, Doctor Who is a cultural

phenomena worldwide. Join the Geekcast Radio

Network and Markhu42's Hooniverse as we review

Doctor Who episodes past and present, discuss

the Doctor's friends and enemies, see where the

Doctor's been, where he is, and where he's going.

Sit back and grab a Jelly Baby and join Marku42's

Hooniverse. It's the ride of this and every other

lifetime. Fantastic. Allons -y! And we're back

on the other side and again we have Joe Reed

as himself to tell us what he's been playing.

Because I've actually been playing a game now

that... You know, I can actually say that I'm

done doing things and organizing events and getting

degrees. But I finally beat Tomb Raider, a game

that you all probably beat about a month and

a half ago. Never played it. It's so good. Oh,

God. No, it's not bad. It's certainly not bad.

I think I just maybe put too much time between

Joe's stamp of a it's okay a lot of games get

the stamp of a but this is on the high end of

it so I'm cool with that but I think I the only

reason I'm going is because I think I put too

much time between getting to the end of the game

and then I put it down and did stuff and walked

away from it and did other things and played

other games and then that I came back to it to

beat it I maybe lost something in that but Now

Tomb Raider was a little bit of all right I mean

I probably missed 90 % of the cool references

and and and fan service type nods because I've

Never played a Tomb Raider for more than 10 minutes

before But it was fun. I like building the character

like that and oh I don't know I want to say it

was disappointing or not that all of these little

tutorials and character development things that

you got in the beginning you never had to do

again like hunting or eating or But I can't say

I wasn't I was looking forward to hunting so

I'm kind of glad I never had to do it again Clearly

it's a lot never when you have an M16 Yeah, that's

the thing that I really you're not excited about

hunting. No big game hunter 2013 no, thank you.

The thing that I was most impressed about with

the game is how they handled Lara Croft turning

her into A reluctant killer and that but also

And then a stone cold killer and then a stone

cold killer and then but handling her sexuality,

which has always been an issue for I don't know.

I think the game was created back in the day

as boobs porn for 13 year olds and how they handled

that by not making her so much as dialed it back

to a point where it just wasn't even distracting

or even an issue. Yep. You just saw her as a

person in a shitty situation and you didn't.

get lost in the crap that they always have going

in that game where it's, oh my god, how is she

not falling over? Those chests are huge. I don't

know, I moved the camera more than once. No?

Nothing? Nope. Sick bastard. I had too much respect

for her as a person, as a character. It was weird.

Stand up for video game woman's rights. Well,

I think a lot of people have been complaining

about that with the rape scene that was in it

Which I thought they handled quite well whether

they changed it was this I didn't see this it

was either in the same scene or same area as

she first starts killing people and in Tomb Raiders,

I don't know speaking for them I think they might

have dialed it down once they said that it was

going to be in there and people had a ruckus

fight about it But she's getting pinned up against

the wall. He's got her throat. Yeah And she knees

him in the crotch, knocks him over, and I think

she eventually shoots. I think that is the first

death that she does. Yeah, it is the first death.

And then you pick up a bow and start killing

fools left and right. Well, the other game that

handled that, Far Cry 3. I don't want to do this.

I don't want to kill this guy. And then you kill

the guy and then after that it happens. But I

think Lara on several occasions for perhaps 45

minutes to an hour of game time is saying, ugh,

or... She's making comments about her sounds

that she doesn't like to do what she's doing.

So I'm even gonna stand up for that Because I

didn't kill anybody after that first death for

a while Anyway, didn't have to because you were

still steal thing at that point, but I bought

that decent You know, I think once you kill two

or three fools and your life depends on it it

probably does get easy when you're in that kind

of heart of darkness mode of Well, I bought it

all I just didn't buy the whole like I I didn't

get the whole Descent thing because for me it

was like flipping a switch. It was oh you just

shot a guy. Okay, and then the next thing I know

there's like three guys and I was trying to be

stealthy and What the first like one of them

saw me and then they all started coming out with

me with guns So I started killing everyone with

my bow. I was like Okay. Well, I guess this is

over with and after that the only time she I

mean I heard her like talk about it But it was

so weird because it was after I had like mowed

down more guys than I could count Like she was

like, oh, I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm

like, yeah, you better get used to it You just

left a shopping mall full of bodies back there.

I Think the very next person that I killed after

I killed the dude who I guess attempted raping

was Snuck up behind somebody and did the stealth

choke thing and she's Struggling herself like

I don't that vocalization is there and I think

that was a very second the next one and then

yeah, it happens later, but I Mean yeah, I like

the game so yeah, I Don't think after playing

that game. It just makes me very sad to see that

I had us the Ida size square unix has had such

a bad fiscal year according to the company and

with what they've put out this year put up some

of the best games i've played this year with

deus ex and with um yeah but now with tomb raider

and with hitman absolution it's the fact that

they're like well they're just not selling that

well since when is like how much did tomb raider

sell like three million or like six It was four

or six, I don't remember. It was like, the fact

that that's a fail is just preposterous to me.

Well, it's like now companies see like the Call

of Duty and stuff. Well, if this game doesn't

sell 15 million copies, it's a fucking failure.

Well, if you're going to be dumb enough to measure

every single one of your games against a game

like Call of Duty, then you don't deserve to

be in business. It seems that's what they're

doing. It's development costs, guys. No, that

game made money. According to them like it was

a fail Well, here's the here's the problem and

they've been talking about this a lot since the

whole use games thing, you know Microsoft reversed

their policies and everyone's saying you know

game development costs are gonna go up and even

like in like Cliff Blazinski said on on Twitter

He was one of the guy he was like what the lead

guy behind Gears of War for anyone that doesn't

know You know, he said he said everyone get ready

for protect on multiplayer and and pre -order

DLC and I was just like I tweeted back to him

says who says I have to play it and or buy it

you're wasting your own money building that stuff

into your game like Tomb Raider didn't need multiplayer

and Someone else also he also, you know put a

tweet out there that you know That Assassin's

Creed it's like you guys wanted Assassin's Creed

to have thousand member teams. No, we didn't

We wanted Assassin's Creed to be good. We didn't

say go out and hire a small country to make your

game like I just There there has to be a line

I mean, yeah I mean obviously Ubisoft or Ubisoft

can expect Assassin's Creed to make a lot of

money and they can you know afford to have a

team that big but it's like I don't know you

get guys making two -person games and Like they

make tons of money. I mean, but there's like

two guys splitting a ton of money but and they

sold their game for like 10 -15 bucks and it

gets a lot more praise than some AAA games do

for $60. I mean Minecraft like why like why I

guess I just don't understand Infamous the team

that's making Infamous Second Son is 80 people

like that seems manageable to me that seems about

right you know and that's an open world go -anywhere

-wreck -stuff game, but yet a game like Assassin's

Creed, which is very... I mean, yeah, it's open

world, and it looks very pretty, but so does

Infamous. You know, and it's scripted for the

most part, and it's broken up into chapters.

You're telling me you have to hire a thousand

people to make that work? Like... I mean, again,

I don't know how any of that stuff works. It's

just one of those... one seems really lopsided.

Especially in the in the era of like the indie

game when you when when you do see like these

amazing looking games Yeah, they don't all look

photorealistic But they still do really well.

I Don't know I Can't understand why they think

it's why Tomb Raider was not a financial success

because it didn't cover everything and maybe

it covered itself but it might not have like

covered maybe they were expecting it to cover

like the losses of Deus Ex or Hitman you know

but who knows I just the whole thing is broken

well it just seems that Square Enix is so quick

to come out and shit all over the Eidos games

where I didn't hear him talking any fucking Final

Fantasy numbers Well, that's true. Well, again,

how long has it been since we've seen a Final

Fantasy game? I don't know. According to E3,

it sounds like we're going to get a plethora

of Final Fantasy games. Well, it also goes back

to, like, you know... Every game can't do the

Call of Duty numbers. It goes back to what we

were talking about with Bizarre, just getting

cut from Activision. I mean, Activision's a publisher

that will just can a studio if it doesn't meet

its... Requirements, but then again Activision

put blur out there to die. I Mean they released

it against another racing game didn't give it

any marketing and just canned the entire studio

I Mean at least that didn't at least that habit

hasn't happened to iodos yet But Could still

happen but then again, they're making a director's

cut of Deus ex which means we'll probably get

a next -gen port of Tomb Raider Well, and they've

already announced also that we're getting a They're

working on, I think they consolidated a bunch

of departments and they're working on a new triple

A Hitman title. I don't know. I know they're

focusing very heavily on doing a new Hitman.

Yeah, I've heard that. So, Joe. I don't think

I've ever sold a copy of Hitman. Except to Eric.

It's good. I've never played a hitman game until

absolutely that's a lie. I played hitman 2 and

I couldn't get into it I played absolution absolution

is really good But I like I said, I think it's

I think the series has evolved to a point where

I think it was a concept that I don't think fit

very well on Older councils because I don't think

it was as versatile as it could have been or

should have been I think it's gotten to that

point now where it's as versatile it needs to

be and I think it's properly executed now but

I would say if I get done with it if you want

to give it a shot I would totally let you borrow

Absolution I mean even if just to play the first

level and if you say it's not for you you're

not gonna hurt my feelings but I think it's at

least worth taking a look at yeah you need to

come over and we need to play games that's fine

I just need time Alright, Joseph you've been

playing anything else. Yeah, I well I subscribe

to PlayStation Plus because of all of your recommendations

and because I got a $10 off coupon from Best

Buy. Thank you very much and Yeah, I don't regret

that at all because I've been playing all sorts

of great stuff Okay, not all sorts. I played

the first Opening thing of Uncharted 3 because

I just wanted to see how much better it was than

then one and yep. I enjoy it and I like the weird

little scripted events that happen when you get

too close to certain geometry and Not only that

the cool animations that trigger, but how those

seem to flow automatically into the next cutscene

You smash the dude's head on the counter and

bang the bar down on him, and I just happened

to be fighting over there I could have been over

by the jukebox, but no when the cutscene starts

it's Sully and and Drake chatting by the guy

who just fell on the floor, and I thought that

was neat Now you need to go play Uncharted 2.

I'm gonna come over and I'm gonna play Uncharted

2 for him and let him watch. No, you're gonna

let me watch 1. Okay, okay, we're gonna finish

Uncharted 1 and you're gonna watch me finish

Uncharted 1. And then you're gonna play Uncharted

2. 2 was amazing. Okay. As long as the combat

is paced better, I'll be happy. It is. Everything's

better about 2. And, uh, cause 1 still hasn't

gotten supernatural, so I'm still... Why does

it get supernatural till the end? What doesn't

it's like? Yeah End of the second act well, I

guess it is yeah, I know the place that looks

like Jungle ruins gray castles, and there's a

lot of jet boat scenes where you're on the jet

ski yeah, no there's no supernatural stuff there

yeah and Also with the PlayStation Plus membership

I downloaded Saints Row 3 which I've played several

times before. I do not like this game because

I want it to be Grand Theft Auto. I don't care

for the bonkers, and I care even less for the

bonkers storyline. I mean, Grand Theft Auto,

you have a choice. You can either go play a story

that takes itself relatively seriously, or you

can go bonkers and kill cops and barricade yourself

in a corner and six -star it for a while. Saints

Row kind of begs you to play it Crazy and not

just I can't get into it, but I'm very excited

to play some co -op Though so as soon as somebody

downloads that and wants to teach me how to go

connect online with you. I would love to go Find

something on my system that I can live without

I Will do that. I I have it and I've been playing

Well, I played it once by myself and I had the

exact same Thing that you did Joe was kind of

like Okay, Joe. I will give you a hint if you

go on to their web if you link your game to their

website People who have uploaded character creations

you can download anybody's right? Granted you've

had the same Like the does the PlayStation one

is the full package that has all the DLC in it.

I Don't think it's free. No well like You can

download characters and if they have the pieces

to make the outfits that'll pop on if they don't

it don't but like right now I'm rolling around

as a dude that looks just like Deadpool and it

makes complete sense with how crazy shit is and

I've like because I've already played through

and I've gotten almost all the achievements so

I'm just playing through for you know S's and

G's so I have you know like infinite ammo and

can't die Everything unlocked in it, and it's

it's just really really fun Yeah, yeah, Ali's

having fun with it She's one of the reason she's

playing on the 360 and that's you know when it

went up on the instant game collection I was

like I'll download it and give it a shot, but

you know I like I said I tried it and I was kind

of like okay I mean yeah, it's cool, but then

I you know did a little co -op with Jason and

it was like a lot Better because Jason's really

good at causing mayhem Then I just had I just

got to sit back and shoot people like he's really

good at stirring up a hornet's nest And I don't

really like to do that stuff So it was it made

it a lot easier playing with somebody that liked

to do that stuff So then I had something to do

is it are the co -op missions are they typically

story mode or? It's it's story. It's like if

um you're playing through your story, and there's

just another person there That's awesome. You

can do anything In the game, you can play a single

player. You can play it co -op. That's kind of

what Grand Theft has been missing, but I can

understand how that would make the story difficult

to. Well, I'm waiting for them to I'm still waiting

for them to announce three player co -op with

Grand Theft Auto five. Right. I'm still waiting

for that, too. And probably I don't happen. Yeah,

I know. I promise to buy that game. and play

three player co -op with me, I would buy that

game at launch. I'm not planning on it, but that

would make me. If they announce I have a preorder.

If they announce three player co -op, I will

buy it. If they if it does not have three player

co -op, that shit's just going to sit on a shelf.

I have no desire to play a Grand Theft Auto.

Oh, I'll definitely play it. But that's a difference

to me getting it immediately and me waiting.

I'm going to do what I do every single time a

Grand Theft Auto game comes out. I'm going to

swear up and down that I'm not going to purchase

it and then the day it comes out, I'm going to

buy it. That's what happens every freaking time.

I'm like, I'm not going to buy it. I don't like

Grand Theft Auto games. I don't like them. And

then the day it comes out, well, I guess I got

60 bucks. I'll go pick it up. We'll see that.

OK, that puts me in a bind because if you get

it, I'm going to get it. There's no. As of right

now, they're co -op. No. No, there's no co -op.

As of right now, since I picked up Deadpool,

as far as I'm concerned, until the PS4 is paid

off, I'm not buying any more games. Yeah, I'm

pretty much right there with you, except I think

I might pick up Miramasa Rebirth for the Vita

next Friday. Yeah, I'm still debating if I want

to get State of Decay. Might pick that up too.

That's two player, isn't it? Or is it single

player only? I think it's single player only.

We'll have to find out if it's two player. I'll

pick it up. I Think I heard something like they

wanted to make co -op, but they um they get they

get it got cut because like time constructions

and stuff So Joe says row three you don't really

you know you're not you're not digging it yet.

No um Yeah, it's just I I Sorry Sean. I know

you like it, but I'm I feel too old to enjoy

the titties and fart joke humor of the game and

the dildo humor. Dude, dildo humor is hysterical.

It might be funnier when you're there narrating

what you're doing and I'm watching and like helping

you back up. Joe, Joe, don't play Deadpool then.

Yeah, you won't enjoy Deadpool. Don't play Deadpool.

Are you playing anything else, Joe? I don't think

so. still coming down from the geek sale, but

I fully intend on playing a lot of things. I

have to finish Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and

I'd like to do Hard Rain. Is that what it's called?

Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain. Hard Rain. Same thing.

Whatever. Yeah, but that was hard to play as

a daddy, and I imagine Last of Us would probably

be the same for me. So there will be lots of

games this summer now that I'm done organizing

a giant 20 -person garage sale for now for now.

I'm gonna give myself to the middle of July All

right, Shaz. You wouldn't even play him Let's

see. I've been playing Me and Dev have been playing

through ultimate vault hunter mode on Borderlands

2 Well, that's still a game. Yeah, screw you

guys Just maxed out our characters at level 61

The game is infinitely harder. It's insanely

hard. I don't see how people can play through

a single player. It's a lot more fun, though.

It adds such a challenge. The only thing that

bums me out now is that even if I wanted to get

on and play and have you guys drag me through

like the second, you know, the third playthrough.

Everything's going to be scaled to your level.

So I would literally be dragged through. Oh,

yeah, you would not be doing any damage. So it's

I'm just kind of like, well, screw it. So I shouldn't

have never stopped. I stopped because I got too

irritated with the game. I mean, I turned on

my 360 today and downloaded like the newest content

and stuff, but I haven't played it yet. I'm waiting

to play it because I don't play by myself. Some

me endeavor and play through it, but I've heard

amazing things. I've heard This is to this set

of DLCs What Knox was to the last ones? Oh great

only took them for and a lot a lot of lost goodwill

Whatever I played them all Um, but plan a lot

of that I've been playing bat a lot of battlefield

getting ready for battlefield for Yeah Hey, I

like battlefield shut up rich. I hey I Got battlefield

force pre -ordered yep um Which is which is funny

that we're all gonna playing battlefield four

together when I see what I think I'm gonna do

is I think I'm gonna like Hipster out of it at

the after bite like ah this is boring. I'm not

gonna play anymore Probably because you guys

are there all the duty You're gonna play Call

of Duty Ghosts? No, no. I'm sorry, I have...

I'm making a next generation promise to myself

that I will not buy another Call of Duty game.

They do not interest me anymore. It's... I might,

like, if it comes on Redbox, rent it just to

play through the story, because I actually like

playing through stories of those games. Even

if the story is horrible, I find enjoyment in

playing through it. But like, after a week of

playing online, I'm just like, well... These

people yeah, it's like I dad's like it's like

oh This is shitty I'm a plan that will plan more

of XCOM that game is still so good. I've downloaded

that too because that was yeah And have you played

it yet? Nope cuz you suck. Yeah, I downloaded

it as well, and I have not played it You both

suck then. It's a really fun game. You guys can

actually, since you guys both got on PlayStation,

you can actually play against each other. I don't

want to play against him. I'll play with him.

You can't play with him. So suck it up. Well,

I guess I'm not playing that game. God, it's

very anti confrontation bullshit. I just don't

want to have something else to lord over my head

when he kicks my ass. Why really that this is

this is a game. I think you would be actually

very very good at Maybe cuz it's more it is not

about if you try to rush in and do stuff. You'll

get your ass kicked every time Oh, then it is

not my game. Yeah, you will get your ass. Yeah,

that's what I'm saying Like Daniel will suck

I just want to interject something here real

quick something I was holding on to this when

when Joe went and I forgot to bring it up PlayStation

Plus I'm not sure, I'm wondering if Joe and Dan

might feel this way. Maybe Dan or more than Joe

because Joe's new to the whole thing, but for

me, I really like PlayStation Plus. I love the

Instant Game Collection. I find it far more rewarding

than I've ever found Xbox Live. Right, but for

me, what's weird about it is I downloaded a demo

for Germinator and I was almost going to buy

it. This was before it was on the Instant Game

Collection. And I was almost going to buy it,

but I didn't. And I'm glad I didn't because now

it's on the instant game collection and it almost

feels like every game that I'm like Maybe I should

you know, maybe I'll buy that it seems like if

I I always put it off and it usually ends up

on the instant game collection I'm waiting for

that moment where I go and I mean it could happen

with Miramasa or or that Dragon's crown game

that's coming out later But it's like I feel

like if I go I'm wondering how I'm gonna feel

if I go and pay $30 for a game Then in a month

or two it ends up on the instant game collection

for free like I'm waiting for that That slap

to happen. I've had that happen to me already

does it I mean, how does it I I had it I bought

Deus ex when the square enix sale was going on

last month for eight bucks, okay, and then three

weeks later, it's on instant game collection,

and I was like Well, shit, and I haven't even

played it yet. I was like, come on. But no, that

was your eight dollars. Yeah, I was going to

say it was one of those. If I would have spent

the full 20 bucks about it, I probably would

have been a little upset. I spent eight bucks

on it. I still get a really good price on it.

And even if I lose PlayStation Plus, the game's

still mine. Exactly. And that's still a great

game. I'm just I was just like, you know, it's

weird like I'm haven't really bought a game because

I'm always like, oh, maybe it'll just end up

on instant game collection. I'm like. know I'm

actually eventually my hands gonna get bit by

that whole thing but it's just like I'm I don't

buy games ever so when they come up for free

it's like hey all right that's a present for

me and on the the off chance that oh you know

I'm gonna buy a grand this isn't gonna happen

I'm gonna buy Grand Theft Auto 5 and then in

a year and a half it'll be free on PlayStation

Plus I paid the 50 60 bucks For the convenience

of playing it a year ahead of that. Oh, yeah,

that's That's different. I think if it ends up

like a year if it's a year later Yeah, you paid

like 60 to play it, you know right when it came

out, which is fine I'm just like if I haven't

played 25 for a game I'm probably not ever going

to play it unless somebody gives it to me for

free So i'm just like like I said i'm just waiting

for it to come back around bite me in the head

hasn't happened yet But it will eventually so

but I just want to see what you guys thought

All right, Sean, I'm sorry for hijacking you

there. XCOM. That's OK. XCOM is it's because

once you beat the game, you can start over a

new mode and it basically can randomize the stats

of both your guys and when you first get them

and the bad guys. And the maps are never the

same. Like even say if I'm going to the map and

the object is to kill all the aliens and on this

particular one, say I. Quit back out and because

I was I like messed it up And I wanted to like

go back to a save before I start if I load right

back into the game the maps completely different

So you're never playing the exact same scenario

twice And it could it could vary up the types

of enemies So it's so it's it never gets old

well It's a really great game because you don't

need to hear what's going on because it's a turn

-based graduate game You don't have to pay super

crazy attention to it Um is real -time strategy

or I'm sorry turn but it's turn -based strategy

Okay, and that solves the problem not gonna download

yeah So it's kind of like I could put like on

a podcast or something and not pay crazy much

sense to it Sounds like it's a turn -based strategy

game mixed with like the roguelikes like FTL

and some other stuff like that where it's you

get you go and then once you die It's everything's

randomly generated I'm kind of like some some

missions will debt like things will definitely

happen But it's I've I've Really enjoyed it.

It was one of those games like I wasn't sure

about and then I picked I'm like I haven't played

a game like this in a very long time So I did

it and I'm also I'm look and after doing I was

very happy. I'm also looking forward to the X

the other XCOM game that's coming out The bureau

yes the bureau yeah Which is they're not really

they're linked only by They're pulling from the

same material on the title Well, no some of the

like the the base aliens are exactly the same

They're the same little dudes But um other than

that it's different Plus that game looks that

kind of game kind of remind me of a first -person

Mass effect when I was when I saw that when I've

seen thing videos for it Because like you like

when you're doing your orders you look at the

little feel like a little gizmo on your arm almost

like a pit boy You look down and you issue orders

to your guys It almost does like that freeze

thing that it doesn't mass effect when you're

given orders So which yeah, that's what I was

like, which I thought was really really cool

Um, I'm playing a lot of silly phone games and

stuff like that candy crush like crazy Oh, yeah,

I'm waiting on tickets people gotta give me tickets

so I can unlock the next area because I refuse

to pay money in this game I could do that right

now. Yeah, buddy. Um, I'm so tempted to play

state of decay. It's it's Like I was telling

Mike, I think it's like 1600 space points. And

I already have like a thousand just floating

around on my system. So it wouldn't be a huge

commitment, really. And it kind of looks like,

Dan, have you seen anything about it? About no,

I haven't seen any state of decay. It's a third

person survival game. OK, it. kind of looks like

a little bit like um daisy but you have to like

manage you're like micromanaging stuff you're

like survivors that you have where they're going

where they're looting stuff where your your fortifications

where your building is you're like all this shit

you're also responsible for your um for the people

in your little village aren't you yes yep and

their morale like I was I was reading a thing

about it like say say you have this this building

you fortified this is the building where your

people are staying in your little village or

whatever um and outside there's like two buildings

within you know a few miles of you that zombies

have overrun these buildings if you leave them

like that your survivors their morale will drop

to some point and they'll commit suicide in a

way that might jeopardize everyone yeah It's

um and you have to you have to pay attention

like there was one thing I Another thing I read

about it was one of the guys Got sick and and

he the guy who was playing in the game didn't

didn't really care The guy ended up dying in

the middle of the night and turning undead Because

I guess in that world. It's kind of like everybody's

infected like walking dead So he died turns in

the middle night and Your survivors include you

and your survivors that you use level up. So

if I always use this one survivor to come with

me, that will be the most leveled up one. Well,

the guy went undead and killed that one. So now

he's late in the game. He has all this shit.

He has micromanage and all of a sudden he's lost

his most powerful tool, if you will, is gone.

The whole thing sounds really neat to me. It

sounds like a very interesting thing It's the

lack of co -op that actually is keeping me out

of it like there's rumors that there's gonna

be DLC that's gonna make it that it was when

they did it it was planned on having it there

and Then for one reason or another they couldn't

they couldn't pull it off Either technically

like mechanically couldn't pull it off or you

know um deadline wise I mean that's fine. It's

just like for some reason. I'm really not into

games right now They don't have some kind of

co -op element to them because I feel like if

I'm gonna sit down I mean certain games like

like last of us and obviously gets a pass and

some other stuff gets a pass There's certain

games where it's like man has to be fun if I

could be really fun if I could sit down And play

this with my friends. Well see that's what that's

why I almost wish I had a good enough computer

that I could play Daisy Because that seems like

one of those games. I would love to go play that

with friends Right that seems like a game. I

could really get into and Then when I saw this

did it again like oh, yes, and then it was I

think the first time I heard about it was a while

ago And they at that point they had were planning

on having a multiplayer So it's kind of like

I'm gonna wait and see what this does this looks

freaking sick It just seems like that'd be a

cool thing to do like a like a an almost like

an open world left for dead Right, but third

person I'd play that Just as long as there's

no craziness right Joe As long as there's not

any three foot long purple dildos. Yeah, what

about two and a half feet? Yeah, I don't know

see through it seems much more realistic I was

gonna say that that's like ballparking it right

there All right, yeah, there's that um put a

little bit of Kerbal space program You are huh?

Little bit. How's that going for you? It's I?

well Technically I've made it to the moon. Oh

wow. Oh, yeah, I've Okay, let me put it this

way. I've hit the moon It exploded I want to

remember so bad, but I've never run on anything

I have um you can if it runs on my laptop It'll

run on anything you have no no. I don't think

it was I already tried Turn the adjust the settings

you can get I already did that to thanks really

still it wouldn't even the The menu crashed it

well not even run Jenny's computer. Nope That

is weird, okay? Because it does not take a lot

to run that game in base settings at all um You've

accomplished more in that game than I have I

gave up when it well I wasn't I was trying to

play with the trackpad instead of playing with

a mouse which was my first mistake, but Yeah,

I could. Yeah, that's yeah, definitely. I plug

in a USB mouse when I play it. That's a good

game. Like from like, oh, I got like an hour

to kill. I don't really want to get into playing

a console game. So I'll just pop that in. But

it's so fun. Like it gets the point where I try

to screw around or like I learned how to like

EVA out of the. Out of the capsule when it's

in space. And I've learned they don't take fall

damage, the dudes. You can drop them from really

high. Yeah, they only die from explosions, don't

they? Bounce, yeah. Or if they drown. Okay. How

do you drown in a space suit? Well, I don't know

if it's drowning, like your capsule has to hit

the water. Maybe that's still a tactical explosion.

Oh, okay. If your capsule hits the water. It

definitely, the glitches are really funny. Like

there was once I was staging my rocket and my

parachute shot out at the same time. So start

going like this death spiral because the parachute

was slowing down one half of the rocket. Well,

but then the engines I was using, it was like

once they're on, they're on. You can't turn them

off. They're just going. And I've definitely

started trying to make I I'm still just using

like the demo version because I haven't justified

putting money into it yet. I don't play it enough

for that. I'm downloading the demo now on my

downstairs computer, because at least this one

has a graphics card. Yeah. The regular version

of it, though, I've watched this stuff has so

much crazy shit they've added to it. Those are

mods to a lot of that. Well, no, I mean, even

the base game. OK, like the space planes, helicopters,

shuttles, all those pieces are regular game.

because every if the mods become good enough

they actually incorporate it and put it into

a real real patch for the game okay which is

it just looks so cool but uh that's definitely

a fun game um i don't know i haven't been playing

too much else like i said a lot of borderlands

recently and i've been farming again so just

got a hellfire 61 i'm so happy it sounds hot

Is hot but you couldn't handle it bitch couldn't

And myself? What have I been doing? Besides reading

a whole bunch of this, that, and the other thing

about, you know, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox

One, and all this other stuff. Well, like we

said earlier, I have been playing Last of Us,

I did talk about that already, but the one thing

I didn't bring up, kind of like what Danner said,

how he has to be in the right mood for it, I'm

kind of right there with him. I'm having the

Uncharted 3 problem where it's, I want to play

the game, and I know I should play the game,

but then I always think of like five other things

I could possibly be doing, and then I go and

do one of those things, and... Even once it's

done. I've probably moved on to doing something

else and then something else and then I just

don't play the game But when I do sit down and

play it I actually play it for about four or

five hours straight so Which would mean I've

only played the game twice since I've gotten

it Let's see did download XCOM like we said haven't

played that Saints Row It's like your new version

of buying games and not opening them. At least

I didn't pay for these ones As if that makes

it better I've just been actually what I've been

doing is just going through and trying to add

all the PlayStation 4 titles that I want to my

Amazon wishlist So I can remember which ones

to actually pick up and which ones not to pick

up Allie and I went and pre -ordered her PlayStation

4 But we're not entirely sure if that's a launch

a launch one or not because Even though best

buy online says that I can order a launch console

and pick it up on the day of release They can't

tell me if my pre -order in the store is a launch

version So we're kind of bummed about that, but

at least I'll end up with I don't know what 800

points for it. So That's that'll be that'll be

a nice pretty reward zone point We're also planning

on we're gonna we're hoping We're hoping that

the digital infrastructure works the same on

the PlayStation 4 as it does on the PlayStation

3, which is where my tag is on her system and

she can play any digital copy of a game that

I've downloaded. Because that will save us a

ton of money, especially when it comes to games

like Assassin's Creed or like Destiny. The first

game we're going to try it out on though is Assassin's

Creed 4, because I want to play that and so does

she. So we're going to snag that one digitally.

see if she can't download it and play it on her

system as well. Which will end, like I said,

the two copies of every game and us spending

$120 on a single game. I don't know. I've been

seeing a lot of movies but we don't want to talk

about that on this show. I've been playing around

with my Vita a little more, at least turning

it on once a week now. I did download the pinball

game. Which has been fun. I just wish it had

the pinball The pinball machine that was on Windows

XP It's got a pack that's got my favorite pinball

machine in it, but I'm just not willing to spend

the money yet to buy it Because it's got Mars

it it's got attack from Mars on there For some

reason that makes me think of Mars Attacks the

movie. Yeah, I was just thinking that too. I

almost misspoke and said Mars Attacks, but You

know, let's just go off the rails here for a

second. I will ditch my spot in favor of talking

about the geek garage. So hey Yeah, like I feel

like Joe's boner sticking straight out feel like

more can be said about that then what I've been

doing which is basically nothing or I've already

interjected and shared in other people's things

so So that was this past weekend, but if any

of you haven't I don't know if we've discussed

it on this show or not a couple of years ago

three years ago, I Decided that I needed to pare

down some of my collections Get rid of some stuff

and then use that money to focus on the things

that I was actually keeping in my house and so

I started Piling up stuff and thought hey, this

could be something that we all get in on so I

call art and I call friend over here friend over

there and organize a small group of us. They

came over to my driveway in my garage and we

set up a garage sale, but it didn't have baby

clothes, but it had a whole bunch of action figures,

movie stuff, you know, all the sorts of nerd

stuff that we were doing. Had fun. Some of the

local comic and video game retailers came and

said, this is really cool. Do you want to do

this in our parking lot? The rest is history.

Three years later, we're taking over the parking

lot of a local comic book store looking like

a gypsy camp. Selling awesome stuff. Hiding from

the sun, you frickin' nerds. Like a shanty town.

I'm still so burnt. Tent city over there. I did

not burn. I burned because he has no souls, therefore

he does not burn. I actually had, despite having

to leave early on the second day, I actually

had a really good time. Definitely covered my

expenses to come out this time unlike last time.

Thanks to Joe and Jenny putting me up for the

night again. Didn't go in what this time I was

actually not I didn't go and look at What the

other other vendors were selling as much as I

did last time? Mainly because I was trying to

make sure that I kept my money to myself Because

it does sometimes it can devolve into like a

incestuous situation Where everyone's just trading

with each other You're selling stuff to each

other just so you can buy something from this

guy and yes You both just end up switching camps

and taking each other's stuff home. For me though,

and this is kind of silly considering everything

that was going on, but for me it was actually

just, it's neat to, when someone shows up and

like the end of the first day when, I wish I

could remember people's names, sorry guys, when

they were going through Danner's toy bin and

we were just calling out parts. Yeah, Gavin and

his wife and me were going through. Yeah, that

was yeah, that that's always fun It's like oh

this this part this little obscure part. What

does this go to and then? I pick something on

I go I have no idea what this is too And then

I just go to every single booth down the line

to make a game out of it and find out How far

down the line will I get before somebody will

know what this is somebody goes? Oh, that's the

that's the elbow joint to the 1981 Megatron or

Joe with the Yeah, that's a slag sword. It was

like, fantastic. That is what I wanted to know.

And then you have to figure out how much to sell

the parts for. Oh, I was being very generous.

Yeah, you gave away that slag sword. I mean,

not literally. I sold it for like a buck. Which

apparently is wrong. People needed parts. That

is the spirit of the geek sale. I want stuff

out of my house. You did it right. I know. I

know I did it right. Said multiple times how

impressed you were with well? Let's see let's

see Danner did it right and came out with half

as much as Joe So did you do it right or did

Joe do it wrong Joe had better stuff to sell

I? Admitted when I walked in this time that I

didn't really have much All right for me. I just

usually just bring some you know what I feel

bad about though I Sold my copy of dishonored

for 25 bucks And I told Andy that I sold it for

25 bucks, and he looks at me He goes you know

that's new for 30 now right, and I was like oh

my god. I just game -stopped it He's like yeah,

you totally did I feel dirty now Good time I

want to get out there to go to one of those just

start walking you might be here by the time Dude,

I have to carry. Dude, I have would have a whole.

I don't know, fucking trailer of shit if I wanted

to. My whole line of Halo mega blocks. Those

might sell. Oh, don't worry, nobody will buy

those. Oh, thanks. All I kept all I kept thinking

was I should have brought the Star Wars legos

that I left at home, and then I was like, no,

I'm glad I didn't bring those because. You, you

did pretty well on selling the Legos. Yeah, well

I, like I said, I made, I only made a hundred,

I made a hundred and thirty dollars, but I only

sold like three things. So, it worked out. I'd

just imagine going there and being like, how

much for this? And the person goes, that was

great, send them over. After all, I'm not selling

this now. Nope, not selling this. I was excited

because I, for once, I came back with two empty

bins. And that's never happened before. I noticed

this time there were significantly less boxes

filling up the back of my Honda element. Yay.

That was cool. This this sale made a difference.

Supposed to the last one like the one last year.

All they did was get wiped out of my posters.

That was the only thing I sold the entire time.

I sold a few little items here and there, but.

So I didn't really have a whole lot of space.

Eliminate space in my attic at that time So any

ballpark ideas to when the next one might be

Joe I am looking thinking about the second or

third week of August and I'm kind of also gonna

start putting the feelers out there to perhaps

find a place to move us indoors But I gotta find

some place to do it for free or dirty or or real

dirt cheap because it's still that's the but

the cool part about this event is it's almost

a convention but i don't charge the people coming

to sell and i don't charge the people to come

up and browse because i want to keep prices down

and people friendly and happy to be there and

well there's your problem i'm gonna core i'm

gonna corporate you and i'm gonna charge everyone

to do anything they want to do just remember

it's an air conditioning fee yes yes if we gotta

pay It's an air conditioning fee. Nice. Just

make sure the building actually has air conditioning.

And then it's always on. All right, will anyone

else have anything they want to add? At the end?

No? Only once? Twice? All right. Bone or fart?

don't know. I think I've done that I did see

something joy almost picked up I want to tell

you just for your video game collection an original

in the case It was used but Grand Theft Auto

The first one mm -hmm Wow Yeah Yes, I can't now

I can't remember That was an awesome game It

might have been because it was PC and then they

ported to PlayStation, right? I think so. I may

have been a PlayStation port. I'm not sure I

know the the one on PlayStation was like what

the London 18 or 1976 or something like that

I don't know if there was a London one that was

different, but I know it was definitely there

was definitely there was definitely a Grand Theft

Auto Flat out on PlayStation was thought top

-down. I think it was to you I Don't know this

was this was definitely not to this is definitely

Grand Theft Auto You know what we'll find out

about it, and we'll talk about it next week.

Yes, maybe if we remember We won't Really Joe

Joe that's like so ten years ago Yeah, Joe. Jesus.

As always, he is Joe and he still uses that shit.

That's alright, if we're keeping with the theme

of Microsoft then that is back in style. Well,

I was gonna say, I guess if we're sticking with

his cell phone technology I guess it's appropriate.

You guys gotta stay in the front room and watch

Darkwing Duck. Or maybe we can ask them what

their opinions are on this. Go to the front room.

They're watching Darkwing Duck. On what? Yeah.

On DVD. Oh, okay. I thought you were gonna say

it was on Netflix. I was gonna be like, oh, fuck

this podcast. Yeah, I know. Podcast over. Done.

This week's Off the Cuff was postponed due to

Darkwing Duck. Fantastic. Alright. You guys ready?

Yup. Do I sound okay? Yes. Sexy. You suck rock

hard, sir. Good, I'm sitting on the floor folding

laundry in by a fan, so I just wanted to make

sure it didn't sound too magical. I can hear

the fan, but it might get drowned out when I

go and mix everything. It's fine. Yeah, it almost

sounds like you have a window open. It's not

like a loud, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,

blah. It's fantastic because it falls hot in

here and I'm not shutting it off. Okay. Let's

see. Does that mean I can take a poop? If you

really want to, you can go ahead. I will be back.

This is going to be another message on Facebook,

guys. I can't get off the porcelain throne. It

just exploded all over the toilet. It just exploded

again. And I was the one who went and ate burritos

tonight. See, now, ever since I saw your thing

on Facebook, God, I want Moe's. Just to go. Oh,

it was just the Coke thing. It was a new Moe.

the weird thing is that there's a new mo's that

just opened by us and there was already one just

like maybe a half a mile further down the road

and the new one that opened up is like so much

better than the old one because they got the

freestyle machine and then they got like a salsa

bar in there also yeah that's how the ones next

is by me that freestyle machine is amazing i'm

like oh i want raspberry and vanilla all this

is like there's been Freestyle machines every

time I go on vacation like everywhere. I go,

North Carolina, Florida Everywhere we stop there's

freestyle machines there hasn't been any in Michigan

and now they're finally starting to come in here

and like Mike's theater got them Yeah, like two

years ago, and now Moe's get just got one in

every single one of the miners over here. Just

got Freestyle machines also within the last month

the reason why they're down south is because

that's where folks from yeah Yeah, everything

gets started down there but the freestyle machine

is quite possibly the greatest thing i have ever

seen like there's nothing it's fantastic this

next to a pinball machine that i'd rather have

in my house than one of those the only thing

about it though is that it makes me sad inside

because like i can't buy this flavor like i can

only get this flavor here that's why i want a

freestyle machine in my house yes the uh like

i like chanelza was making fun of me because

of the fact that she's like Seriously, you're

just gonna drink Coke Zero mixed with cherry

and vanilla? Like, hell yeah. You're not gonna

try anything else? Why? This is what I want!

You can get Coke Zero with cherry and vanilla

already mixed. I don't care! It's there! No,

I'm just saying, isn't that one of the - I mix

it myself with the push of a button! No, I'm

just saying, like, you didn't go and do individual

flavors. I thought that was one of the pre -programmed

flavors. Yeah, it is one of the pre -programmed

flavors. Okay. The one thing I don't like about

the freestyle machines is They have all the flavors

in there, but not every beverage is available

in all the flavors Like I want to be able to

get coke zero with strawberry, but you can't

get it even though there is strawberry sprite

like Why like that's what I don't understand

about them is why don't you have all the flavors

for all the drinks? I don't know if people liked

strawberry Coke Zero and so they took it out

of the machine so that they can't be accused

of that's that's not how the freestyle machine

works the freestyle machine like there's like

there I want raspberry and something there's

a separate spray that just has raspberry yeah

it's all it does and it mixes with whatever you

want the whole the whole thing is based off of

the printer cartridges so you don't have big

bags of anything in there actually everything

for that machine is contained in What you're

looking at there except for the ice which is

actually like above it Everything every single

flavor is in something that looks kind of like

a giant sized ink cartridges that plugs in underneath

you just slot them in when they're empty and

They even have like the little pin prick thing

where like a hose will like force itself in It's

like super condensed flavor Yeah, and everything

like the strawberry that's in there is the same

like a strawberry cartridge goes for strawberry

Sprite strawberry to sunny strawberry sparkling

to sunny Like that one flavor can go to all those

different drinks. It just seems weird to not

offer it Well, i'm saying they they probably

focus grouped it and said since it tastes so

bad. We're not gonna let the machine It's just

weird but i'm just it's just it, you know, there

are other things in there that are kind of let

me I think they have like peach Coke like that's

I'm pretty sure peaches in there. Yeah, I don't

know That's the only thing that's weird about

it to me is that you know, it's I mean, I like

it don't get me wrong Um, it tastes really good.

It's just kind of like, oh come on, why don't

you... That new Mo's is great, Joe. Have you

been to the Myers yet? No, I haven't been to

the Myers. We just went to the Mo's for dinner

tonight. I got, and of course, since they have

a burrito that's named Art, I had to buy the

burrito. It was a vegetarian burrito, but it

was totally awesome. Loved it. Alright, are we

good? We're good. Alright, Tanner? My boom tube

is empty. Oh god. Why would you say that?
