Save Our City and Power of the Good and the Way of the Magic

Are we ready for the big game? Mutants on the

fight, fight, fight! Slughead, shut up! Gee,

I was just getting into the spirit. Hello, this

is Optimus Solo and welcome to the 103rd chapter

in our Powers of Greyskull series. With me for

this journey into the masters of the universe

franchise is the fucking grumpy one, Mike. Hello.

Please, try your best not to laugh at Steve's

ass. I mean, it's a running theme now. I don't

know how many episodes we can continue this,

but the dude worked his ass off, so now we're

searching for it. In this episode of Masters

in Space, we'll be giving you our thoughts on

the next two episodes. That would be episode

56 and 57, entitled Save Our City. And you guessed

it, the power of the good and the way of the

magic. So we hope you're ready, because it's

time to go back into space. Mm -hmm. Alright

guys up first today is episode 56 in our quick

two episode episode. That's a double episode

Instead of a double negative save our city written

by Jackalusker. I can't believe it This is a

continuation of what we got in our previous episode

as well as two episodes before that where we

have President Pell and the Klinons and the...

You were gonna say Klingons. I mean that's all

I could hear every time they say it is like,

is this the Klingons? And the Klinons and the

Mites. The Mites, I don't know why. Galactomites

or something, I don't know. Anyways, so we get

more of the same... or more of these new characters,

I guess, not more of the same, but more of these

new characters with President Pell and Vitor

or Itor. I can't even tell half the time what

they're actually saying. I can't either. So there's

all these little midgets guys, or little people,

whatever you're supposed to politically correct

call them. Us be politically correct? No. And

they look like a version of... Something that

I saw I believe in one of the later turtle series

I don't know if it was the 2003 or 2000 whatever

but like the little crayon guys. Yeah Yeah, it's

like those guys that's basically what they remind

me of it's like a combination of those dudes

and then like the rock people or something like

i don't know it's it's a weird weird character

design but uh i like it because it's new i guess

so mike what did you think of saving our city

and i don't even know what the city's called

it's the it's the Glean on city or whatever the

mites the city of the mites or whatever the hell

the city of the termites or the bedbugs or whatever

the hell it is Yay continuity yay narrator Mara

has a new home. Okay, then well at least they

did something with her character That was like

shocking to me like because it would spoiler

alert guys cuz you You're never gonna watch this,

so I don't care. And you never should, but in

Save Our City, Mara actually leaves the Galactic

Guardians and stays at this planet because she

has a fetish for small people. She's going to

stay in the might city and be queen of the mights

because they give her a crown and everything

and then she can have little small people do

her bidding and pleasure her So that's what's

happening here and save our city. I thought it

was an interesting direction that they went I

might be making a lot of jokes, but I thought

it was clever. I like it too bad You're almost

done with the whole series. Yeah, but again the

other part about this. Hold on before I let you

talk I don't like letting you talk too much Literally

two episodes they aired out of order an episode

in which randomly With no mention before in the

tornadoes of Zilmara is starting to suspect he

man and Adam are the same people That's randomly

in episode 50 whatever for whatever it was. Yeah

They had nothing leading up to that to set that

up and apparently they're gonna have nothing

after that as far as where that went Because

she suspected him and now she's gonna live on

another planet Yep, so we're not even gonna have

any more to do with that I would guess unless

there's more episodes that are part of two unless

there's two different writers going on at this

point that are writing two different He -Man

stories I don't know, but yeah Mara go into a

new planet. That's that's interesting New show,

Mara and the Midgets. Mara and the Midgets, man.

Rated X, you can only watch it on certain channels

at the middle of the night, and it's gonna be

- Pornhub! It's gonna be a little snowy, you're

not gonna be able to see clearly, and you're

gonna have to wait and see if the download actually

worked or if you got a virus. Hashtag unleash

the porn in you. I mean, any time you put porn

in everything, you're gonna get views, hits,

and likes. We've learned that recently so Now

you know last episode I was dying of laughter

and now we have Mike I can't I just can't anymore

Mike did you have any other notes on saving?

No, I like this one I did. I did enjoy this one.

I thought this was really interesting. You know

how I am. Continuity, continuity, continuity.

So they're sort of following a continuity and

creating this new character thing for Mara. I

like it a lot. We look for her too now. So we

had a different look for Skeletor. Now we got

a different look for Mara. And again, this is

based off of an unreleased toy of Mara, et cetera.

But the bad part, Mike, is I just said, hey,

I like this one. And in this series that means

I'm giving it a three and a half out of five

I'm in a three. So I mean we both said we liked

it and we're still not giving it fours or fours

or five So that is a sign of what it takes for

us to like something in this series Three and

a half and three. It's a decent start Let's see

where we go now where we finally get an episode

that is named after the phrase power of good

in the way of the magic coming up next Last up

today is episode 57. We're talking about the

power of the good and the way of the magic, because

they wanted to see if they could get the longest

title of the entire series going today. Guess

what? It's written by Jack Lesker. And we're

going to have some more of the people. The Klingons.

Yeah. And the Glactomites. I honestly have no

idea what the hell happened in this episode.

I don't know, but why did the mutants get stormtroopers?

I know right? I saw that and I'm like what the

hell like that opening sequence was cool because

they showed a shot of each of the Mutants getting

into their ship. So you like okay. There's staghorn

or whatever and there's Whatever his name is

and there's Slush head and you know all they

showed each one getting into the plant So that

was kind of a cool sequence But right before

that they show like legit like stormtroopers

like they have never had an army of people. Have

they in any other episode or has it hasn't always

just been that? I mean, they haven't. You mean

the mutants? Yeah. They have not actively shown

like the. No, they will. They they've got their

fighters. Yeah. So, I guess that's a small army

but they haven't actually shown a scene to my

knowledge from watching this where they're like,

you know, the Star Wars scene at the end of Star

Wars where when when when work you know we're

right before they take off their they're getting

ready to make their big run you know where bigs

and wedge and and luke all reunite and whatever

else like there's not a scene like that where

this is now this is them getting to their ships

and everybody gets a little spotlight kind of

thing because hey we got to show off our copycat

stormtrooper designs right um it opens with a

weird thing because sebrion and is talking with

uh... adam or something like that and talking

about how he thinks peace is coming and Remember

the days when the mutants used to be a thing

and We used to have to battle and like what that

was like just a minute ago guys I mean I granted

you've been off on this other planet for like

three episodes recently But like what when did

the mutant stop becoming a thing? It's not like

they were like a hundred years into the future

Like there was no Reason for him to be like reminiscing

of the days of old when the mutants were a problem

because they've been a problem every day Yeah,

like I don't understand that writing at all from

Jack Lesker. You've written half of the fucking

episodes Like at what point did you write into

the story that the mutants were gone for an extended

period of time? And that maybe they were gone

forever and there was gonna be peace Yeah Like

you wrote one episode in which case they pretended

like they wanted peace and then they immediately

attack them. So you didn't even leave it for

one episode where it was peaceful. So how can

you write into this episode when you are the

one that is writing all of the episodes? This

whole synopsis like you're an idiot. Yeah. And

you're not a good writer. And that's why we never

knew who you were until we watched this episode

or this series. Yeah. Don't care what else you

wrote before or after nobody knows who you are

and there's a reason for that And and look, you

know honestly, it's one of those things where

I Can say I don't like a writer or whatever else

I'm trying my best and I don't want to attack

the guy because I know the guy from Adam kind

of a thing but like He's no good wise Well, at

least David wise can actually write. I don't

know like okay, you know how You go to Yeah,

yeah, he's he's he's no detilio. Um, you know

how Well, he's no point. Yeah, he's no flint

dilly We've interviewed Lauren Lester a few times

on the geocast radio network for those who don't

know He was the voice of Robin Nightwing in the

Batman the animated series show animated show

One to the I think it was like the second time

we interviewed him. I asked him about His character

on he was a guest character on Good luck. Good

luck Charlie on the Disney Channel Okay The reason

why I'm bringing this up is is that I asked him

about some of his character traits and some of

his lines I said did they let you improvise or

was that he goes. Oh, no that's that's a machine

over there they have everything all set to go

you just come in say the lines you don't get

to do any kind of ad -libbing or or or anything

most of the time they have it all set up and

they have the characters all straightened out

and once you learn the character you just go

and you say what you're supposed to say you look

at lou schimer lou schimer was giving everybody

these scripts are going to tell everybody this

is kind of a story we want right which you want

to write or whatever kind of a thing I don't

know what the higher -ups or whatever Mattel,

whomever, did with or gave to Jack Olesker for

this series. He's the majority of the writing.

All of these shows pretty much are him. There

are a few episodes here and there scattered out

throughout the 65 that he's not written on. But

I'm like... Did you come up with this? Or is

this something that was handed down from Mattel

saying you had to do a story about this? And

as much as I hate and think that some of the

mask PSAs are stupid, some of the PSAs that they

tried in this are even worse. Yeah. That is a

statement. That is true. As a factual statement

Yeah, I mean, I don't know like this is just

another middle -of -the -road episode for me

I'm sitting at a two and a half and I have no

reason to go higher and no reason to go lower

really I'm at a one and a half. I just I mean,

that's why I call you the grumpy one Well, I

didn't like it was another battle episode. There

was no real like I do honestly I Literally as

we're recording this even though you people will

hear it far in advance of when we're recording

this I watched this episode less than an hour

ago as I'm talking right now. And I don't remember

the plot of the episode after watching it. I

don't remember anything about this. I thought,

oh, like you said, oh, the power of good and

the way of the magic. I thought this was going

to be some sort of weird Primus origin story

or maybe we figure out some sort of... Time warp

time travel Black hole worm thing between attorney

and Primus like we get Backstory on he man other

than the fact that he got flung into the future

kind of a thing Right. We got that episode last

year when we did the one where Tila came to the

future Remember, like the only time Tila showed

up in this series? Yeah. That's what I kind of

thought this one was gonna be where maybe He

-Man get flung back to Eternia or Skeletor decided

to, you know, finally not be the mutant stooge

and actually do something. Right. But no, I don't

remember this at like... I don't remember anything

that happened. All I remember is they were fighting

each other. That's all I remember about this

episode. Basically. That's all. You don't really

need to remember anything about this episode,

so that's good. Don't fill your mind with this

garbage. Yeah, no. Oh, I can't wait till we get

to good cartoons. It's happening soon. Yup. Any

other thoughts before I close this out? Nope.
