Altered Geek
Green Lantern casting, hackable cars, and fall TV

About this Episode
Oh, yes. Hello. I'm Megatron, and you're listening
to Altered Geek Unlimited. Excellent. Yes. and
welcome to Altered Geek Unlimited, episode 98.
I'm your host, Steve Megatron Phillips, and nobody
is joining me this week. Why, you may ask? Well,
I have been a very busy bee this week. As I stated
in the last episode of the one before, I recorded
two episodes in one night so that I had something
for this week just in case. However, you are
going to get a bonus episode that's going to
come out the beginning of the week because Which
this will air on the Monday? because I wasn't
sure and I've been messing with I've been editing
the the film project that we have for school
I'm kind of breaking down and mixing audio and
video and finding bad scenes and everything else
So in between that I've been I've been doing
that Also have been busy with Life in general
I it took me a couple days to recoup from lack
of sleep And Well, I saw a bunch of stuff that
I really wanted to talk about and unfortunately
because of the timing of this and When everything
came out I just I didn't have time this week
to really record anything so Didn't want to have
it be too dated kind of like the SDCC stuff that
came out. So I decided to record More or less
on the fly. I'm here at work actually recording
and There's nobody here in my office right now.
So it's it's kind of convenient for me to do
this Normally I wouldn't do this So if the audio
is a little off and it doesn't sound as crystal
clear as it usually does This is probably why
so without further ado let's get into the news
okay first up just so everybody knows i'm gonna
be a little bit kind of all over the place with
some of the news it's not really gonna be organized
because i i'm kind of going off of some things
that i've saw pop up and that that are kind of
interesting and It's gonna be a random grab bag
this week That being said there still will be
some some conversation in my thoughts on everything
It's not gonna. Just be a hey read the news You
know I am NOT doing that I hate that so It looks
like This has been a rumor for a while, but anyway
since they've released information about Green
Lantern core movie It's saying that obviously
Tyrese Gibson's been having meetings with Warner
Brothers, a couple of them anyway. And there's
a possibility he may be Jon Stewart. It's not
really saying one way or the other, because obviously
it's a rumored fan casting. But he says he has
actually met with Warner Brothers, and he'll
see what happens. He believes there needs to
be more black superheroes out there I think it
would be best Green Lantern and based on the
fans and support that's been around six billion
in box office receipts I feel like there's a
fan base out there waiting to see me put on this
green suit and do my thing So I would love to
confirm something today, but I can't we'll be
keep following up Honestly, I don't have a problem
either way You would probably be alright. I mean
he's he's done a lot of those military type roles
and a lot of those kind of in the lead type stuff
like that. So I mean I can see Tyrese pulling
it off. I'm not really sure how I feel one way
or the other. Honestly I would rather see them
do a John Stewart Green Lantern than necessarily
a Hal Jordan. Hal Jordan is not really my favorite.
I mean there's so many different Green Lanterns
that could go any direction but I think they're
going to have the Green Lantern Corps, it would
be nice to not just single out one and you could
have kind of a grab bag of all of them, with
some getting more of the the limelight. I personally
like Jon Stewart the best and then followed by
maybe Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner and those kind
of guys, but it's also because I grew up with
Justice League Unlimited, so Jon Stewart is like
my go -to Green Lantern at this point. So yeah,
I mean that could be something fun. I hope that
that pans out for him and he gets something in
that that realm a Little bit of funny tech stuff,
which isn't really that funny. I just I kind
of find it interesting because How high tech
our vehicles have gotten over the last I don't
know 15 years I mean, that's really when they
got Very high -tech We have of course Fiat Chrysler
is kind of running into this dilemma. They've
had to recall 1 .4 million vehicles because of
remote hacking Yeah, who would have thought that
with all the Bluetooth and all the you know the
4g and with all the computer systems are putting
in to make them like a smartphone a smart device
And this comes from Engadget. They said, Fiat
will patch 1 .4 million U .S. vehicles following
the reveal of a hacking method by Wired, the
voluntary safety recall, which I understand is
voluntary, but it should be probably mandatory,
being that somebody can hack your car and kill
you. We'll get more on to that in a minute. But
it says, which seems will come in the form of
a USB dongle, applies to vehicles equipped with
8 -4... an 8 .4 -inch touchscreen in car entertainment
systems. It's basically the deluxe edition. Affected
cars include Jeep, Grand Cherokee, Cherokees,
SUVs, Dodge Ram pickups, and many others. If
you're concerned, see the full list. The hack
makes it possible to kill the engine, remotely
activate or disable the brakes, which, how that...
is even allowed with the braking system. I can
see, yeah, okay, you can kill the engine, but
how are you allowed to cut the brakes while it's
on, like, running? And it keeps tabs on the vehicle's
location. So, full steering control is currently
being worked on. The party responsible for the
hack revealed it would publish a portion of their
exploit openly on the web to coincide with the
Black Hat Security Conference. Why that's allowed
to be even exploited and posted online for somebody
else to kind of reverse engineer, despite the
fact that there's a patch for it? is beyond me,
why they're allowing that. There's so much gray
area on these new smart cars that I'm just not
really sure why they're so gung -ho on it. The
more electronics they add to these vehicles,
don't get me wrong, I enjoy having a USB port,
I enjoy being able to control my flash drive
with all my MP3s on it from the entertainment
center. But I don't think you need to have the
extent that they have in these vehicles. There's
just too much electronics and too much exploits.
I don't know. Maybe I'm old fashioned. Maybe
I'm an old fart. I mean, I don't really know.
To me, all I want my vehicle to have anymore
is I'd be happy with the USB because then I can
charge my phone or I can have my MP3s playing.
But I love remote start. I love the... Power
window, power locks, you know, the power window,
the mirrors, you know, remote start and everything.
I mean, that to me is what matters. I really
don't care about heated seats. I don't care about
an entertainment package or, you know, the GPS,
because my phone can do that. So, I mean, there's
so much that is unneeded in vehicles today that
I just find it kind of annoying, you could say.
Anyways, back to that. Anyway, it says the company
clearly accepts that the issues are serious and
to the software exploit, nor is it aware of any
related complaints, warranty complaints, or accidents.
Again, I just don't understand how you can get
away with it cutting the brakes. I just... Like
I said, that's just beyond me. I I personally
I do not trust vehicles enough to let them drive
for me or to Make any of those kind of decisions.
So if my vehicle had all of that in it, I don't
think I'd want the vehicle I'll just get a lower
-end one But I also drive at 2005 so I don't
have anything that's special besides power lock
power window and power mirror, you know and remotes
unlock so Moving on from my soapbox there Hasbro
Is confirming a mask merchandise, which obviously
we knew they owned it and they own Just about
everything from our childhood at this point And
it only makes sense they have it because it's
basically like GI Joe and Transformers combined
in a sense, you know I Think it'd be interesting
if they revived it as a TV show But it also says
that they're going to resurrect it, you know,
the toys for some extent. It says Toyark posted
something about it that Hasbro officially revealed
it. I think it'd be kind of cool though if they
brought Mask back as a show. What do you guys
think? I mean, how much did you like Mask or
do you think it matters? Wasn't a huge fan of
it. I've seen minimal amount of it I think it
could be cool being that we can't seem to keep
a GI Joe show on TV And this is kind of in that
realm Not saying it's the same thing because
I know it's not But yeah Hasbro posted their
their brand architecture and franchise and partner
brands it has like transformers nerf my little
pony Disney stuff of varying degrees Marvel Star
Wars Jurassic Park And then it says, you know,
Challenger brands and it's got, you know, like
PlaySchool and Creo and stuff like that. And
then there are new brands that has Micronauts,
which I believe that was an 80s thing too. I
can't exactly remember. I'm pretty damn sure
I'm right though. And then Mask, it has the same
logo, so it's not looking any different. And
then they've got Action Man, which I think was
another... You know, 80s, 90s thing. But yeah,
that's kind of cool that they're bringing stuff
back. It's like that old thing that they say,
you know, everything is old is new again. Speaking
of that, Age of Ultron Blu -ray trailer is released.
Teases deleted scenes, gag reel, and Infinity
War with 45 minutes of exclusive content. Among
other things on the blu -ray DVD release which
is coming October 2nd I Cannot wait for this
come to the blu -ray because I really want to
watch it again I'm not saying it's the best Marvel
film I've seen because it's not I just saw Ant
-Man It was actually pretty damn good I know
some people are kind of love or hate with it.
I I'm not a fan of a lot of these tertiary characters
or secondary characters, even if they're primary
at one point, because I don't know anything about
them, but I still give them a shot and kind of
watch them and see what's going to go down. But
I think they did a good job with Ant -Man, kind
of segueing a little bit. I like the the 1989
kind of drop where they go a little bit into
while Hank Pym still is Ant -Man and then kind
of his retirement age and his dealings with S
.H .I .E .L .D. and you get this little nice
nod of Agent Carter being there which I was kind
of confused and then I was like oh yeah that
is her. because they aged her and they digitally
altered Michael Douglas to make him look younger.
I think the movie was really good. I wouldn't
mind seeing more of his character, and both of
them, in some capacity in the future. I enjoyed
them more than I enjoy Thor, so that says a lot.
And I actually prefer him over Hawkeye, even,
or The Hulk. Coming from a guy that's a DC fan
hardcore. I really enjoyed that film But jumping
back into Age of Ultron I'm looking forward to
that film just because I want to see the gag
reel and the deleted scenes in the Infinity War
stuff So I don't watch commentaries. I dislike
commentaries. I don't even like recording them.
I Enjoy watching when I'm I'm watching and talking
about it. Don't get me wrong. I just I don't
care for commentary tracks But everything else,
like I love special features, I love gag reels,
I love deleted scenes, I love teasers, I love
stuff like that on the discs. So, speaking of
which, I should be getting, this is kind of a
throw out there, in mid -August, or late August,
I should be getting copies of Arrow Season 3,
Flash Season 1, Gotham Season 1. and Batman Animal
Instincts which I will have written reviews for
on the website which all of them have special
features which is one thing I gotta give WB Entertainment
that they haven't been doing over the past few
years with a lot of their stuff is putting a
lot of special features, deleted scenes or any
of that kind of stuff on the discs and these
seem to have it and I can't wait to get my hands
on them to To review I just think that that would
I'll talk about it too on the show once I get
them and once I'm able to talk about them And
I'll also have the I'll have the written reviews
as well, which I'll link when it comes to that
time But anyways back to age of Ultron they they
they tease with behind -the -scenes footage of
like vision. They've got unlocked the infinity
six And then they show the mind stone they show
the space stone the reality stone the power stone
And then they show a bunch of goofy clips stuff
of characters anyway, so Yep, that's coming Moving
on to the next kind of subject there we have
DC's legends of tomorrow will be an anthology
series with standalone seasons I'm kind of wondering
if we're gonna have like a kind of like the how
the Suicide Squad or how you know Justice League
how they kind of rotate cast members every season
so it kind of gets us a chance to learn new characters
but also to kind of rotate them in and out and
then kind of test the waters I'm wondering if
that's how they're gonna go like kind of the
the almost true detective Aspect of it or if
they're gonna go Like an actual Continuation
that kind of make them like a movies like a miniseries
like and then they span time I'm not really sure
but they said this season this first one that
is Is basically like to the oceans 11 aspect
They compared it to that. They said that this
is not designed to go on forever. This season
is meant to be standalone Not like True Detective
But everybody will be continuing on this journey
the sort of central premise of time travel and
Vandal Savage is totally up for grabs It's meant
to be a season that is tightly serialized that
when it's over you can't go home again It's not
going to begin season two with us all hopping
back on the same ship and with like Let's get
Vandal! Let's get him for real this time! This
is not a traditional episodic television. Each
season is its own separate movie, which that's
what I was kind of hoping for. And it says what
we want to do is have each separate movie have
its own identity, so almost to the point where
each season was telling one big story that you
could sort of subtitle like the way you would
subtitle American Horror Story if that makes
sense. I could get behind that! Obviously that's
a different route and something original and
something that people seem to like. I'm not a
big American Horror Story fan, I know a lot of
people are, I believe Mike is too. Who's ninja
not? It's the FG -1. But it says not all of the
characters will return for the show's second
season, which again is kind of like the grab
bag they're going to kind of swap people out.
The first season is more like a caper because
it's sort of Ocean's Eleven where you have a
team of misfits, a dirty dozen that have been
sent on essentially a suicide mission. It's almost
like a family dynamic between people who can't
get along but are forced to get along because
they're stuck in this stupid time travel spaceship
and having to save the world. But if it weren't
for that they would absolutely kill each other.
Makes perfect sense. Obviously it's gonna have
White Canary, Adam... Captain Cold, Heatwave,
Professor Martin Stein, Hot Girl, and Rip Hunter
with kind of guest appearances by Flash and Green
Arrow. So I'm pumped for that show. That's something
different. I'm really looking forward to it.
Heroes Reborn digital prequel is now available.
as of today, which is Friday the 24th. It says
it's available on the new Heroes Reborn app.
I'm gonna have to download that and watch that,
so I'm prepared for next week with it. It's titled
Heroes Reborn Dark Matters. The six -episode
series is set five years after the finale of
Heroes, when the public became aware of the existence
as evolved humans, also known as EVOs. That's
so funny. In that time, evils have grown both
feared and revered, with an online community
forming around the rallying cry of this anonymous
hero, Truether, anonymous hero underscore Truether,
who seeks to counter all the lies and fear -mongering
and humanize those with extraordinary abilities.
Among those posting their personal stories is
Phoebe Frady, who's encouraged by her brother
Quinton to document her origin story, but as
Phoebe struggles to control her powers, she attracts
unwanted attention from a mysterious new company.
I'm wondering what's going to come into play
with this. And how many of the old cast are going
to show back up. I know they've already got the
Haitian, they've got the Hornrim glasses, they've
got Mohinder, they've got Parkman, they've got
Hiro, and they've got Angela Petrelli. So I'm
wondering who all is going to actually end up
coming back at some point. I would love for some
of the other ones to make cameos, but we could
probably assume that they're going to leave that
door open in case they want to come back, or
in case they can write them back in. There were
so many that were left by the end of the series
of heroes that they could be in hiding, or they
could be dead, or they could be captured. I'm
really pumped for this because my wife and I
are actually watching heroes again. We watched
it the first time. We're almost through the whole
first season, getting closer to the second. Some
of the stuff's coming back to me as I watch it.
Some of it, she doesn't remember any of it, which
is probably good. We know that fourth season
was terrible. Third season was getting there,
but it was still okay. Second season was all
over the place. But I'm looking forward to the
revival of the show. As I've stated in past weeks,
I think that this could be a really fun concept.
I just hope that it plays out well for them this
time. But I think that the because of how superhero
II TV's got now I think that it when it arrived
it was way too early And I think now is actually
the perfect time for it to be capitalizing on
this whole superhero everything so Moving on
So with the moving on, apparently, just in passing,
it looks like Hulk Hogan has been removed from
the WWE because he dropped a couple of one -liners
that are kind of something you can't really say.
He's had a rough last few years. But yeah, it
looks like he's terminated and no longer has
ties with WWE. And yeah, that's kind of crazy
because he's kind of the main face of a lot of
wrestling to a lot of generations. So I'm sure
Mike and Mike, the dueling Mikes will have something
on GeekCastRadio's... mayhem mics in the future
because I have a feeling that they're gonna they're
gonna end up talking about this once they catch
wind of it. So Brian Singer confirms there are
plans to bring the X -Men and the Fantastic Four
films universes together. Which Why they didn't
do this sooner because it probably could have
helped reinvigorate the x -men franchise years
ago and Also give the fantastic for a new film
without having to recreate an origin story or
I don't know I mean I get why they've recreated
them now because they you know everybody else
that was involved years ago don't really care
to come back and They weren't that great to begin
with But I It says that Simon Kenberg thinks
that joining the two is ill -advised since the
Fantastic Four superpowers would render less
important in a world where superpowers occur
naturally in the human population, but that doesn't
register with the executives of 20th Century
Fox, so it's up to a brain trust to bring together
the new Fantastic Four reboot and the X -Men.
But yeah, I can get behind that. Not like they
had a crossover before, I mean... It would be
nice to see all of the Marvel universe kind of
play well with each other because I think that
you can have a lot of fun with it Having a grab
bag you wouldn't necessarily have to feature
the same characters over and over and over and
over and over and over So yeah This is one that's
really close to me and my opinionated self Swat
cats revolution by tremble a brother studios
Kickstarter. I Don't normally get behind kickstarters.
Like I mean, I I know we talked about the the
one for super troopers to Which more than got
its goal? The amount of Let's just put it this
way. It's got a 30 -day goal of getting to $50
,000. What this gets you is a TV series Bible,
three scripts, character design, and concept
art. They go all the way up to, and what they're
hopeful is 1 .5 million, which is production
of a direct -to -streaming movie, 70 minutes.
They get the million, they get a production of
a five -part miniseries, episodes, 22 minutes
each. You get 200 ,000 they get a product one
new episode So each step of the way they get
something for their benchmarks It's the creators
of it that are trying to bring everything back
Which I think is awesome. I think swat cats was
such an underrated show and unfortunately didn't
I Loved it. I'd love to see it come back. That's
one of my favorite Animated series from the 90s
that I used to watch But anyways they have so
far out of their pledged 50 ,000 goal like at
least for the initial they have 37 ,000 they
get 28 days to go I'd say that they have a pretty
good chance of hitting their $50 ,000 goal or
more I would love to see this come back as a
series so if you want to find This Kickstarter
I'll have the You can go to Tremblaybrothersstudios...
brosestudios .com for information on them, but
I'll have the information in the episode post
of how to... how to donate for this anyway. I
think this is an awesome, awesome endeavor. I'd
love to see the show come back. I know it's a
lot of awesome, but not a lot of explanation
there, but it's... I enjoyed the music, I enjoyed
the casting, I enjoyed the concepts, and I loved
the art. So it's one of those things I can't
say enough how much I enjoyed it. So, jumping
into some more news we have. This was posted
on Polygon. This is kind of a toy rush here.
Hot Toys showed off its 1 -6 scale Millennium
Falcon cockpit. Toys makers bringing the entire
model of the famous Corellian Cruiser to Anacom
in Games Hong Kong 2015 this week. I think it's
awesome. It's so big that it requires multiple
people to set it up. Assembling an 18 foot by
12 foot model of the Millennium Falcon ain't
like dust and crops is what they're saying. And
then they have... The 1 -6 scale stormtroopers
and Darth Vader standing beneath it. And then
they've got some TIE fighters behind it. That
mother is huge. That is insane. And the level
of detail on this thing is just spectacular.
Blanchard and I were talking about it yesterday
because I saw it and he's like... Where would
you even put that I'm like, I don't know I'm
like I would love to I would love to get something
like that But there's no way I could get that
in my house. I don't have a room big enough to
put that Unless it's like my living room in the
basement and then we couldn't sit anywhere So
I wouldn't get one, but I think that the level
of detail in this monster is just spectacular
The funniest part about it is the article title
and it says It says the Millennium Falcon toy
is so big you might have to get out and push.
So there's that. Jumping over to Agents of S
.H .I .E .L .D. for its third season, Chloe Bennett's
Sky Daisy will be sporting a dramatic new hairstyle
because they're chopping off her locks for season
three so she can be like her comic book counterpart
Daisy Johnson aka Quake. I'm not familiar with
the character, but I don't see an issue with
it. I guess some people are having an outrage
over some of it. I don't know, but I look forward
to seeing how this plays out. Season two was
off and on again, good and not good. I'm looking
forward to seeing what they do with Colson's
hand to with the robo hand or Seeing if he has
like a transforming hand or a stark hand or something.
I don't know I think it would be cool to have
a cameo by Tony Stark giving him a new hand In
the show, but I don't see that happening Then
of course they have arrow season four Has a Kind
of unnerving amount of new cast members joining
the show obviously they're gonna have They're
gonna have white canary return to the show at
least initially To kind of Revive her for legends
of tomorrow, so should probably keep making cameos
in the show But they've got Damien dark Cast
they've got anarchy cast they got mr. Terrific
cast They're gonna have new rogues on both arrow
and flash Arrows gonna have Baron blitzkrieg
I'm not gonna go into detail on any of them because
I have no idea who most of these people are I
know who anarchy is because of the Arkham games
and the Beware the Batman animated series, but
I don't know much more than that. So yeah, there's
that. They've had, of course, for season four,
Diggle's going to get a costume. I don't understand
the significance of this, but Michael Chickless
joins Gotham in season two as the new police
chief, who's going to be at odds with Commissioner
Gordon or not Commissioner Captain Gordon or
Detective Gordon On and off, but he's gonna also
be out there kind of trying to clean up things.
I Like Michael Chiklis, so I think I think he's
fine I saw him in no ordinary family and I know
that Mike knows him from the shield but I'm kind
of I'm looking forward to seeing him him kind
of join forces over there. I think Gotham season
2 I think should Now that they've established
everything, I think they should be having the
ground running now, kind of like Arrow Season
2 did. I hope that they don't try and focus too
much on the Joker and everything else. But I
know that they're already starting the transformation
of Nigma and Bruce and all these other characters.
Should be interesting. I'm very enthusiastic
for the new seasons of the comic book shows coming
this fall. Between Gotham, Arrow, Flash, Legends
of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Heroes, all of those
I'm just extremely, extremely excited for. A
little bit of other news. They've got the female
Ghostbusters names revealed. It means nothing
to me. I could care less what they're named.
I'm just gonna look forward to seeing the movie.
I love seeing all these little... little articles
pop up of stuff and they're like oh we have one
piece of info here you go um i just that's why
i'm just kind of rambling off what the information
is rather than digging into it because rather
than waste time on trying to explain what i think
about some of those i have no opinion i'm just
trying to state the obvious um kind of going
in into something that's not even news or whatever
related uh I have gotten my superhero or I should
say my smithsonian x edx um dot org uh pop x
1 .1 the rise of superheroes and their impact
on pop culture uh certificate I am now certified
Superheroes and their impact on pop culture So
yes, you can say I know what the hell I'm talking
about now It's not that hard to get the certification
as long as you do the work I'm actually taking
the class again in August Because I really like
the class I hope that there's something new But
Again, if there's not, I'm not going to pay for
this round unless there's something I notice
different in the first two weeks, which they
give you that long to decide. So, I mean, if
there's something that looks different, I mean,
other than the fact that the original digital
artwork that they're giving out is a little bit...
It's going to be different each term that they
do this. I'm hoping the information's a little
bit updated or added to or they had some alternate
challenges, because obviously I was a part of
the initial debut class of this. I'm hoping that
the second edition has some of the kinks worked
out, but I would definitely recommend that to
anybody that's a huge into superheroes or into
pop culture and kind of wanted to know the history
and It also gives you the chance to kind of collaborate
with other people or create your own superheroes
and mythos. I've got an entire, basically, Justice
League and Legion of Doom, you could say. Not
in those exact naming strategies or terms, but
I've got enough people to fill the roles that
I've created because I only submitted two, but
I made like eight of each. So, there's that.
I'm hoping one day I can actually write like
a like a series Bible type thing and have the
characters have the names have their their origins
have the storyline have how they work you know
what what happens and I'm hoping to actually
draft something like that so that maybe I can
write a story on it and it depend on you know
what people thought too but I really like the
the universe I created it's Don't really know
of anything that it really fits into compared
to anything that I've seen I Always have these
weird far -fetched Stretched into you know doing
time travel and stuff, but mine makes more sense
than the whole Terminator thing So there's not
that confusing crap Yeah, I mean I kind of I'll
explain more about it when I get more of it figured
out but If you were gonna create your own universe
and characters like what kind of thing would
you guys do? I mean I I like doing the I would
at least start out in the future and have a time
travel thing where they end up in the past kind
of almost booster gold ish and Then the only
thing is is my character gets trapped in the
past so he kind of has to deal with He saved
the future by altering an event and rewriting
history, but in the process chasing a villain
they both end up in the past and they're both
stuck there so they have to work with modern
-day heroes and villains with also throwing in
some of their advanced tech so it's gonna it's
gonna kind of throw off the entire timeline so
I'm kind of looking forward to more playing in
that universe Just kind of interested in seeing
what other people would do if they they had that
chance or if they decided to take this class
And I'll let you guys know if I find any other
superhero ones That's kind of In this realm you
can say For not necessarily from EDX or Smithsonian,
but that are That are articulate this, and it's
kind of difficult. Brains, I'm thinking at the
same time. Other online college courses, because
I know Coursera has some. I know there's a couple
other ones that I've kind of looked up, and I'm
going to kind of toy with. There's EDX, there's
Coursera, there's UDEMY .com. Coursera and EDX
are dot orgs But they all have something in the
kind of pop culture or superhero or or something
in that realm So it's it's very interesting to
me I think in the coming weeks Yeah, I'm switching
gears again. I I'm gonna talk and I kind of want
to ask these as questions, too I Because I've
had Not quite like mental breakdowns, but in
the last like couple weeks, which is kind of
why like shows have been sporadic or I've been
very spastic in some of my thought process I'm
better now, but I have you guys been affected
by before like geeky kind of like Like mental
health issues, but not like severe like and how
did you guys kind of overcome it like I? Ended
up telling my wife because I was so depressed
and kind of just out of it that I had to tell
somebody Which I probably wouldn't have but I
was in that that moment of just I just don't
care about anything that I texted her and she
kind of got me through it, but And I find that
that helps I If I would have got home that day
that I had those issues. I probably wouldn't
have said a word and I probably would have just
been an ass So I'm probably gonna talk about
that kind of in the future at one point I don't
know when it'll be kind of a short conversation
because I don't want to dwell on on it too long,
but it is an important issue and then I have
another one that I kind of want to talk about
too is like a custom Avengers or Weird geeky
dreams or influence weird dreams influenced by
geeky things like for instance. I had one a couple
weeks ago that involved the world of Doom, which
I have that one about once a year. It's strange,
but I continue it every time I dream it. It keeps
growing. It's like a never -ending death. And
then there's... I've had Beast Wars in my geeky
dreams before. I've had Agent Coulson in the
Agents of S .H .I .E .L .D. somehow. Don't ask
me how. I don't remember now, but I should have
wrote it down. It's... But, you know, have any
of those things kind of come into play with you
guys? I... I do have a list of things that I
think next week I'm going to have more of a discussion
base because I don't really want to do, unless
there's something huge in the geeky news world.
I know that we're fresh off SDCC for the last
two weeks and there's just been stuff left and
right. I'm assuming Deadpool will be out shortly,
like officially, so Mike and I can talk about
that too. Yeah, I mean if there's anything you
guys want to bring up and have us talk about
I'd love the conversation and also if you guys
can tell me what's your favorite moments of the
show or or Basically we could have have a calling
Q &A type thing for Altered geek episode 100.
We're two episodes away That's a huge milestone.
I don't even think all things transformers hit
that but We'll find out. Yeah, I know. It's a
little long -winded this week. It's not quite
as long as last week's. I think I did pretty
well this week. It's not often I have a lot that
I really want to talk about. I do have quite
a few topics, but they're always just jumbled
around in my brain. So if there's anything that
I've mentioned that you guys would like more
explanation or like to talk more about just go
ahead and post in the comments on the website
Geekcastradio .com. Like I said, this is also
posted on alteredgeek .com. It's pretty much
verbatim of what's going to be on Geekcast Radio.
So if you just want to go there, that's fine.
But that is the alternate place that you can
look for it. It's also going to be posted on
we've been partnered with blogtalkradio .com
for several weeks. It's actually been since the
beginning of June. in maybe mid -May, I don't
know, beginning of June. But anyways, they currently
host all of our files. Yes, there is an ad, but
it's there for helping us and helping them. It's
a lot easier on us, let's put it that way, for
space issues. They've just been really gracious
with their hosting of it. That being said, that's
also another place you can listen to it. You
can listen to the show on iTunes. You can listen
to the show on Stitcher Smart Radio. Pretty much
anywhere that you've listened to it before, you
can listen to it. I will have some Altered Geek
video show revival very, very soon. I've got
some stuff I'm working on. Like some top fives
and some other stuff that I can do visually so
Look for that. I'll have that coming shortly.
I should have it about an episode or two and
throughout August and I plan to do some DVD Blu
-ray reviews on there as well as doing my typical
written so look for that and until next time
I've been Steve Megatron Phillips. You can get
a hold of me on Twitter at CP21. You can get
a hold of the show at Altered Geek. And until
next time, get altered, get geeky with the Altered
Geeks.
No chapter markers for this episode.
