About this Episode

The digital landscape is getting messier by the minute! In Episode 464, host Steve "Megatron" Phillips and TFG1Mike tackle the controversial news that X (formerly Twitter) is handing the keys to your timeline over to Grok. We discuss the implications of letting AI curate your social experience and why the algorithms are making these platforms feel less human than ever.

We also dive into the trailers that have everyone talking—or scratching their heads—including the first look at Clayface and the surprise return of the boys in uniform with the Super Troopers 3 trailer. But the real heat this week is on the trend of Dynamic Pricing. From concert tickets to consumer goods, Steve breaks down why this practice feels like a legal scam and why it’s time to return to set prices for everyone.

What you’ll get out of this episode:

  • A deep dive into X’s plan to use Grok AI for timeline curation and what it means for your privacy.
  • Honest reactions to the Clayface and Super Troopers 3 trailers.
  • A passionate rant on why Dynamic Pricing is destroying the consumer experience.
  • The latest progress on the Megatron Studio Desk Upgrade.

Hi, this is Tom Bergeron. You are listening to

Altered Geek. You didn't think I knew that. Hello

and welcome to Altered Geek. I'm your host, Steve

Megatron, and joining me on this adventure into

geekdom is TFG1 Mike. I'm not really here anymore.

But he could be. You don't know. Yeah, you don't

know. Almost sounds like the Emperor Palpatine.

You don't know the power of the dark side. And

you'll never, never know. Commander Cody, execute

order 66. Oh my god, I didn't send this to you

on... purpose but i now think i need to send

this to you i saw a reel on instagram where the

stormtroopers got the wrong order they got order

67 and i say 67 specifically oh god is that the

gen alpha thing where they're like oh six seven

no it it is and it isn't but it's more of it's

more of order 67 and they start playing notorious

big oh i will have to send it to you now but

like i said it to like two other friends and

i'm like oh my god i can't believe they did this

because just because it's a notorious big song

it's the oh god it's so funny it's so hilarious

oh my god oh boy so yeah another week another

altered geek let's go that rhymed that was on

purpose i'm wheelie don't you know i'm gonna

steal it uh so yeah there's i mean there's been

some different stuff going on uh it's only been

i don't know like 12 hours since we released

the episode last so there's there's some other

stuff uh i mean technically we recorded the episode

like a week ago yeah But yeah, I really I think

I released it either yesterday or 12. Anyways,

there's there's some new stuff that's come down

the pipe between social media trailers and dynamic

pricing. Yeah. And then and then we've also recorded

the first episode of the top 100 animated series

countdown 2016 edition. No, 2026 edition. Yeah.

wow you've gone back in time recorded in four

years after the original 10 years yeah well 10

years ago but yeah oh my god yeah whatever you

know what i was going for time is freaking real

and p and i say i have time displacement you

have time displacement now dude i'm turning 40

this year my brain's mush oh like when we started

this journey 17 years ago i was a young whippersnapper

that could record four episodes a night tonight

we've recorded two i wish i could edit four episodes

a night at this point i need to edit four episodes

a night at this point i don't even know how i

had the time to do four episodes a night like

i literally worked two shifts i had kids i had

a wife and i played video games and then i'm

like okay okay and passing out in front of the

microphone you know like the beast unleash like

oh steve alive now he died he's sleeping in front

of his microphone you can just hear me going

yep yep you can just hear steve snoring in the

background i i think folks steve needs to jump

into the present tense he has kids he has a wife

yeah i know yeah my grammar's in the toilet uh

yeah maybe you need to go back to school for

grammar c Back to school, back to school to prove

to dad I'm 94. Okay, Adam. Yeah. Stop looking

at me, swan. All right, Billy. Same movie. Anyways.

I know, I know. Yeah. So anyways, we recorded

that episode. It will probably be out in tandem

with this one. And yeah, we got to reveal some

pretty interesting information as far as the

110 to 101 rankings and kind of how this whole

top 100 is going to go down. And some of the

awesome guests that we had a part of this and

the fact that this list is going to be nothing

like the original. Nothing like the original

top 100 animated series that was released back

in 2010. Yeah, but I mean, I guess I'm excited

for it because it means we're going to I mean,

one, we're 15 years older since the last list

came out. So like our preferences have changed

and some of the shows have changed and there

have been new shows. And we, of course, consolidated

the list down to 250 and then had a fan vote

of another 14. And there's a huge range of ages

on this one compared to the previous one. Plus

we doubled our list and a smaller fraction of

people. I'm not going to spoil all the information

or the exact numbers, but a smaller fraction

of people from the original list actually took

part in this one. And most everyone else is new.

Yep. Yeah. So I'm, I'm excited to hear this new

one come out and see the reaction, uh, some of

the new features on the website that go with

it. And, uh, the, the comments on the site. uh

i'm especially excited for and i i truthfully

hope we get most of the comments there because

there are points where i i would rather own the

infrastructure on which it's placed yep um because

you know let's say the algorithm changes with

like facebook or x or any of these other platforms

yes the discussions can still be held there but

i can't salvage the yeah the back and forth comments

and i realize there are going to be some that

are on them but i'm hoping that majority of everyone

goes to the website and comments there i mean

it's not you don't need a whole heck of a lot

to get on there and comment uh so go to the website

go to the website please please please and do

the same for those two uh so anyways with that

being said uh you had sent me this particular

article about x going to let grok curate your

timeline yeah and originally i got mad about

it but as i read the article a little bit more

i kind of understand it now and basically it's

if you allow grok to do it as far as what i if

i'm reading this right so it sounds like uh The

premium subscribers on iOS specifically can get

early access to this feature, which allows them

to pin specific topics to their home tab. But

Grok will also use this to curate the posts you

see across your feed, meaning that basically

every timeline is made just for you and less

irrelevant stuff, which I kind of get, because

Facebook and X... have been rather notorious

with a bunch of crap that it's like i don't care

like i don't i don't most of the stuff coming

up is not relevant to me whatsoever and so with

them doing this like i'm hoping and i'm thinking

too like it's one they're they're hoping you

play more on their platform and in order to get

you to do that they need to make it something

you want to interact with and honestly like i'm

so tired of the uh the bashing and the hate that's

all over the place like i'm just like i'm just

curating for stuff i mean i say that with a grain

of salt because like i'm also bashing the fact

that we're getting all these ai data centers

all over the place uh don't get me wrong i use

it as a tool i don't use it as like like i'm

gonna get rid of these people you know uh yeah

but so there's that and then like the digital

id laws that are trying to get shoved down her

throat and then i'm also commenting on stuff

that's related to the reason why shows just suck

in general where i make a commentary on that

but otherwise like i don't like i don't really

care to talk politics or i don't care you know

about a lot of the other stuff that's coming

down on social and so like if it could be more

geared towards like the interests and the things

that you know get people excited to have the

conversations i think that's going to be beneficial

in the long run yeah absolutely and i know we're

talking about x and all that but like what i

find most interesting is like facebook i have

set to i think whatever the timeline order is

i forget what facebook's Facebook used to have

like Twitter X has the for you tab and then the

following tab. I forget what Facebook used to

have it set at. It's either most recent or whatever.

I just scrolled through my Facebook timeline

and it was all things relevant to me. My X timeline

is. My following timeline, other than the Grok

advertisement, is everything of accounts that

I'm following, everything that is interesting

to me. The For You page, though, that's wild,

wild west. That I don't even know. Like, I stay

away from... I stay away from the... From the

for you page. I don't like the for you page.

I don't like them either. Yeah, but. It's rather

interesting, though. Because like the older I

get, the more I'm like. I don't. I don't see.

social media or the internet lasting as it is

today i just don't like i i think that it's forever

irrevocably changed and i feel like we're screwed

at this point like i honestly feel that way because

we have the inundation of so much 100 ai content

like not even like hybrid or you know done by

a human for the most part uh because i mean they're

even saying that with you know scientific studies

that people are getting to the top of the food

chain by using ai to write their papers for them

to get to the top but it's actually regurgitating

a bunch of other stuff and it's there's nothing

new being created so the information pool is

getting smaller which i feel like that's the

same thing happening with the internet there's

a lot less opinions a lot more like the indie

podcasters like us stand out more because we're

authentic we're raw complaining you know enjoying

whatever it may be and i think that it's going

to be beneficial for us in the long run but i

also don't know what the internet's going to

look like in a year or two years three years

from now with all of these stupidity changes

like the laws can't even keep up anymore with

how fast technology is changing to keep ahead

So there's going to come a point, there's a lot

of this stuff with digital technology that it's

kind of getting... I mean, it's getting scary

with a lot of this stuff, but I think social

media is going to end up kind of fizzling out

and get replaced with just AI chatbots at some

point because you're going to lose that human

element unless they can get back to basics and

dump out all those bots. I miss the old days.

I remember when I joined, originally joined X,

formerly Twitter, back in July of 2008. And by

2009, one of the first things I saw on there,

I believe it was by Super TV or Current TV back

then at the time. It was this skit. It was Dave

and Craig, and they were these two guys in this

office, and they were... puttering on their phones

and oh and they were just like yelling out their

tweets and and by the end of it they're like

you idiot you summoned the fail whale and it's

like oh that that was that was that was the good

old days kind of thing and i don't know dude

like it just all this ai stuff it's like i don't

want to I want to have real conversation, like

literally as we were, as you were talking, cause

I was still on my phone. Not, not that I wasn't

listening to you. I was listening to every word

you said, but I was still on X cause I was trying

to close it out. But my buddy, uh, Mike Seibert

from the Mike Seibert radio program and two mics,

two furious podcasts. He posted a post on X and

said, where do all those popcorn buckets go anyway?

And I basically replied, the world may never

know. So I think that there still can be conversations

had on social media and stuff, but we have to

find the like -minded people like us to have

those conversations. What gets me with some of

the stuff on the social media platforms is like,

like, like I don't mind Facebook or Snapchat

or whatever with their filters. And that like,

I have one filtered picture I did on Facebook

messenger or whatever, and it's not filtering

my face. It's a background filter. Okay, fine.

Whatever. Cool. But you know how you go through

your memories on Facebook? I don't know how often

you do the memories thing. I do the memories

thing daily because as we know, I'm a nostalgist.

I would rather look at the past than live in

the present right now kind of thing. And at the

end of all of that, when you go through, like

I've been on Facebook for 15, 16 years now, going

through all of whichever day it is going through

all of that. When you get to the end, sometimes

it'll be like, oh. here's this photo from 16

years ago would you like to see what we can do

with artificial intelligence and have it be this

and i kid you not it says poly p -o -l -y this

poly filter and dude some of it it looks okay

but they took a photo that i had on facebook

of my grandmother who died in 2007. Now, this

is a photo from her way back in the 80s. I don't

even remember how old she was at that time, but

she was old. She wasn't old, old, but she was

old. And it put her in that style, and I looked

at it, and I can... I gotta send this to you,

because it just... Oh, my God. It just made her...

It just drove me nuts because it doesn't make

her look like she is in the photo. So if you

want to check your messenger, I sent that to

you. But, like, oh, my God. Like, social media,

stop. Like, I mean, come on. That's horrible.

that is horrible i could have an artist like

like the top photo there is the original and

the bottom photo is the oh low poly is what it's

called low p -o -l -y like i could have an art

i could pay an artist to do something better

with that photo um just no don't and stop like

So like you've said on this podcast before, you've

said it on some of the other shows that we do.

You use AI with some of the art stuff that you

do for specific things or specific prompts sometimes.

But you also use it for helpful things, for things

that you. don't necessarily want to spend all

day on for yourself you use it for things that

are going to work smarter not harder kind of

thing i mean yeah i don't like i just saw like

a post actually that they're talking that some

of these chat gpt models have already gotten

to the point that they can actually do full -blown

graphics and it's like and and so this is where

I go with it. Like I sometimes use it for inspiration

or use it to like, for instance, I don't know

how to turn something into an animated version

of something. So like, for instance, my kid's

really into Pokemon and I was like, Hey, there's

an idea for his birthday. I could make him a

Pokemon card of our pets. Oh, nice. You know,

something like that. I mean, I would have to

do the rest of the work, but I mean, and they

have generators online that you can type in all

this stuff and it, populates the look that you're

going for right like it's not an ai thing it's

just literally a generator like they've always

had your stuff but i used ai to take a picture

of my dog and turn her you know i was like all

right make her look like a pokemon and it did

and so i was able to put that image in there

and then build the rest of it so like it's like

enhancing where i don't know how to do something

but at the same time it's like i prefer You like

even I mean, you can even say using like Canva

is technically cheating, you know, because it

does AI stuff. Oh, I use AI to remove backgrounds

like no other because it's so quick. I still

have software on my computer that I can do it

if I need to. And sometimes it's better than

doing it that way because I can specifically

trace it better. And then sometimes it's better

just to let the AI do it if it's going to wipe

everything out. But I mean, like I use it sometimes

to clean up what I've written as far as like,

you know, if I'm writing something very snarky.

Yeah. And I need it to be friendly and professional.

I'll say rewrite to be friendly and professional,

but keep the essence and it will do that. Sometimes

I don't sugarcoat it at all. I just do exactly

what I'm going to do and, you know, just go for

it. But I mean, I don't fully trust all of it.

And I've played around with all different kinds

of features, all different stuff, all different

AIs just to see what they'll give me. Like I'm

using AI to help me get through like trademark

issues because the website is so convoluted.

You need a lawyer to deal with it. So, I mean,

it's it's stuff like that. I'll use it to amplify

it. Like I know what I'm going for and I know

what I'm doing. I use it as a tool to basically

soundboard and make. information i fed it and

i realized to some degree it means that you become

the product i'm not naive in that uh but i use

it as a tool to get to the end result of what

i'm trying to do but in the end i'm still deciding

whether i want to do it or not and i use different

ones for different stuff and my son was doing

a project for school and he was using multiple

ais to try and generate a logo Or like a youth

business type thing that they have to do, like

their own shark tank thing in school. And I,

my wife and I were like, you used AI on that,

didn't you? And I looked at it and I was like,

it looks worse than a fiber graphic. Like, it

looks like it had been fed a bunch of those crappy

like fiber or fiber, fiber, not fiber, fiber

logos that you see that they're like. those generic

like gamer ones that you see all over the place

yeah uh because i could pick them out like i

used to frequent the site looking for ideas of

you know hiring people and people used to give

people crap for using fiber because it was um

you know you're not using the people that cost

hundreds of dollars for this and are professional

it's like now i'm using the dude that i paid

30 bucks for to get the same thing and then now

you can pay ai literally five bucks a month and

get exactly the same thing without having to

pay a person so i mean it's like yeah It all

evolves differently and it's all relative. Like

people are going to complain about the next thing.

And there are some instances where, you know,

like AI sucks at designing a website. Absolutely

blows at it. Like I can have it generate plugins

for, you know, specific features that I'm trying

to get or to eliminate a bunch of, you know,

bloat in the website, but it still requires me

to do a lot of the legwork and testing and everything

else. But as far as like layout design and themes,

oh, it sucks. Like I've, I've tried some of them

and I'm like, yeah, this is, I'm still better

off doing what I'm always doing. But my son though,

getting back to that story, I could tell he designed

it with, with AI. And I actually put him on an

old copy of Adobe fireworks that I still have.

It was actually still installed on the, the other,

my old computer. And I sat him down and I said,

There's a thousand fonts on this computer. I

showed him how to use the program that I started

with Geekcast Radio. Set him loose. Of course,

he forgot to save the file because modern stuff

saves for you like Canva. Oh, no. But it was

a good learning tool because he did that three

times and then finally remembered to save. They

had to recreate the same file like three times.

Right. But he learned how to use the software.

He learned how to do it himself. He learned how

to do gradients. He learned how to do font selection

and in placement, moving it and seeing how, you

know, he could design, you know, like. Different

shapes in it, you know, and so. I felt proud

having shown him this. Yeah, because it's like

you learned a new skill. Yes, it's not very evolved,

but he's starting. and so that's and that's all

i did i used to do microsoft paint and it looked

like crap and you couldn't layer it or anything

and now you can layer it and you know ms paint

or whatever but um yeah i mean so like it's everything's

changing yeah everything's changing everything's

come a long way yeah yeah it's uh it's crazy

So, yeah, so that's that. We get two trailers

this week we're going to talk about. I've been

wanting to talk about trailers more as trailers

come out or trailers don't come out yet. So CinemaCon

was last weekend or CinemaCon was recently. And

at CinemaCon, they had all these experiences

and everything else. And there was popcorn buckets

out the wazoo and everything else and all this

and all that. And at CinemaCon, they had this

experience of seeing a new Avengers Doomsday

trailer. But yet Marvel has not released that

to the public yet. Hmm. I wonder why that is.

Well, they did describe it. I don't care. I want

to see it. I don't want to see it, too. But it's

from the sounds of it. It's a it's another like

60 second nothing burger. I don't care if, and

look, I have a feeling that Marvel has been off

more than they can chew and they've got a giant

cluster coming. And I have a feeling that this

next cinematic experience is going to bomb hard.

I think that there's going to be a lot of nostalgia

and a lot of fan fanning out on this and, you

know, people being excited at the same time.

I can also see this going the other direction,

because from the supposed leaks, it starts off

in Tobey Maguire's universe, and right from the

get -go, they are sent by the X -Men to eliminate

it, and Wolverine and Tobey Maguire's Spider

-Man are both wiped out in the process, and Deadpool

gets away. interesting and then Thor tries to

take out like Dr. Doom with his axe and Doom

stops it and then Steve Rogers comes in with

Mjolnir and attacks and so like I don't know

like there's there's there's things going on

in this that I have a feeling it's going to go

all over the place it's going to be another infinity

war in a sense yeah and I'm not the confidence

is not there for me with all of these, but I

mean, it's one of those things I'm going to have

to reserve judgment until I see it. Yeah. Because

I have a feeling I'm going to be honestly more

critical. Yeah. Of the entire, the, this entire

thing that's going in. Plus they're retconning

end game. Yeah. They're releasing a new version

of end game to tie more into doomsday. Which

I'm just like, wait, what? Yeah. So they're,

they're doing that, but they're also going to

essentially, uh, other than like Loki, I have

a feeling we're going to end up wiping out a

lot of the stuff that happened between end game

and doomsday. Yeah. Like, it'll be like nothing

ever happened. Uh, just because of the fact that

they're doing this, cause they're, they're basically

tying it in. So it's right after. And what's

beautiful about this is I have a theory. Uh -oh.

Here we go, folks. Oh, no, no, no. This is my

theory that I published July 29th, 2024. Uh -huh.

I think I'm right. Uh -huh. This was my... And

I'm going to restate it just because it's been

a while. got a theory on Avengers Doomsday Secret

Wars Robert Downey Jr. will be the infamous Iron

Man variant or will still be you know Tony Stark

from another universe or a version of him that

is resurrected from the end of Endgame with the

scarring that's on his face like his arc reactor

that was on his chest did take some of the blunt

of the infinity stones yeah And it did go into

him. What's to say that the tech doesn't reanimate

him after he's died? Yeah. And then he's essentially

alive and not alive at the same time where he

managed to use the stones when he snapped his

fingers to survive, but make it look like he

didn't. And then he becomes even more unhinged

and he's got the burned face. And people have

even said looking at the Mark two armor, which

people are like, oh, he's using the Mark two

armor. of you know the iron man suit or the mark

one or whatever yeah and uh i'm like well one

it was all destroyed in iron man three two like

the the mark two became war machine so yeah So

like that's that kind of falls through. But anyways,

I said, you know, basically there'll be some

tomfoolery afoot. He'll get revived either by

his nanite suit injections or another method

to fight the Avengers, both past and present

and the mutants. The lineup will be Deadpool,

Wolverine, Jackman, Spider -Man, Tobey Maguire,

Thor, Hulk, Captain America's both Hawkeye, Strange,

Doctor Strange, Electric, etc. You know, then

I, of course, threw out there, you know, Hawkeye

likely. And then Joshua Leonard goes, bookmarking

this because of a few wild takes, starting with

why they didn't drive a brink strike up to Boyega

and say, Major screwed up. You're the new Kang.

Yeah, very true. And Powers, right after I posted

that, he goes, God, I hope you're wrong. Yeah.

And because my track record, you know. yeah a

couple other people are like exactly this i'm

like honestly i'd like to be but there's little

that surprised me anymore with the plot lines

and the ability of writers i get it plot twists

can be hard to come by these days the russo brothers

keep us on our toes maybe we'll see something

unexpected before our universe reboot i doubt

it so yeah and the i've left this bookmarked

because i want to be able to find it when the

movie comes out and people are like and then

i can be like hey look at that told you so Cause

I'm starting to do that like track when I'm like

on, on the roll for something. So, yep. Yep.

And the other thing is somebody, so again, I,

I doom scroll Instagram a lot when I'm not editing

podcasts or recording podcasts or writing up

soundtrack reviews for La La Land records or

whatever. But I was doom scrolling Instagram

the other day and I was like, Oh my God, I can't.

Well, that, that, Holy crap. Somebody pointed

out, and I can't believe this is actually true.

Holland, Tom Holland, Spider -Man does not have

his own. He has never had his own villain. He

has never had his own villain to fight. Look

at all three of his movies. Those are other people's

villains that he has fought. He has never had

his own adversary. I'm like, wait, what? Oh,

shnikes. Yep. Dang. Cause dang, but that's just

crazy. Uh, yeah. So I, I just, I don't care if

it's 60 seconds of whatever. I don't care. All

is I care about is the fact that the convention

cinema con is over. Release footage now. Release

the footage. Release the footage. Release the

footage. I don't care. I just want to see it.

I don't want to hear Mr. AI slop voice, whoever

that voice actor is, more power to that voice

actor that does the I am Mr. AI voice person

thing that explains everything to everybody now.

Clownfish TV did a video. seven hours ago according

to my youtube that doomsday is the most expensive

disney movie ever at 700 million dollars i sincerely

hope they don't screw it up i me too i'm stoked

for it i hope they don't screw it up it's pretty

hard to top what they did with endgame and honestly

i know I would have used that as my time to just

start fresh. I know that they didn't technically

reboot the universe and they will with this.

And the thing is, is they've even said. Even

in the thing that. Was released that if they

do kill people off in Doomsday, they'll be back

for Secret Wars anyway. Yeah. Because or some

of them will. Yeah, everybody. Like I don't see

Xavier or. I don't see those guys being back

but they'll bring the characters back so we'll

at least have a mix of old and new guard in that

movie and it would be great if we had Toby leading

the charge like he did in the you know in the

Secret Wars part of the animated series in the

90s yeah that would be a nice nod to send him

off on Yeah, absolutely. But that being said,

yes, I don't I think they're going to screw this

up. Disney has this terrible track record with

with tentpoles that they've bought from other

companies. True. Oh, I don't I don't foresee

this going well. I hope they don't screw it up.

But yeah, you're you're right. So yeah, so moving

into the trailers, we actually got to watch.

From DC Films, the slate continues. So we had

Superman come out last year, July 11th. Supergirl

is on her way. She will appear June 26th, 626

day, 626, 26. So Stitch is on vacation. Supergirl

is going to take his slot this year. So that's

coming. And then later, October 23rd, 2026, we

get the release of Clayface. Now, neither one

of us are super horror film fans at all. What

was your reaction to the Clayface trailer? I

found it disturbing. I understood what they were

going for. Yeah. With Matt Hagen, you know, having

all the issues. Yeah. I don't. I'm not into the

whole horror thing. I'm also not into making

a villain film. Like I don't need an origin story.

Yeah. Like, I think that for me, I would much

rather we, you know, we, we, I don't know. I

hate this, this focus that we keep putting on

the heroes or these like, or the not heroes,

but the villains and then make, trying to make

them out to be like a hero or showing that like,

Oh, they're misunderstood. It's like, well, the

only one I feel bad for is, is Victor freeze.

Yeah. In the animated series, the rest of them,

like, I don't care. Like I don't need their backstory.

Like I think that it could be easily tied into

a Batman film. yeah but the problem is is what

they're doing with the batman currently and you

and i haven't really discussed robert pattinson's

the batman yet i have yet to watch it i tried

watching it it is an hour and a half too long

for me three hours is too damn long for a batman

movie yeah three that movie's three hours long

That sucks. I'm pretty sure last time I checked.

Since I'm in. Oops, that was that. Yeah, it was

released 2022. Where's the time? Come on. Anyway.

But yeah, so. Yeah, it's 176 minutes, whatever,

176 minutes. is in hour and and minute length

uh somebody else can do the math on that but

it's 176 minutes long uh i generally agree with

you uh mr freeze is kind of the only person really

but i i don't know i I watched this on my phone

initially, and I briefly watched it before we

recorded, so I didn't really get the full effect

of, like, I caught it really quick before we

started. I know it's a horror movie, and I know

that between James Gunn and James Watkins and

everybody else, because James Watkins is the

director on Clayface. I know they kind of like,

ooh, spooky, ooh, this, ooh, that. That's all

well, good, and fine. And I get it. You know,

Clayface, fine, you want to do a horror movie,

great, awesome. And it's Matt Hagen, and that's

great that they're doing that story and whatever

else. But yeah, you're right, I'm not that into

horror movies. However, I will give it a shot

just to see. because I liked the clay face from

Batman, the animated series. I thought that was

really cool how they did all that. So it did,

but I don't see them doing it the same. No, I

mean, I don't, I don't think they could do it

the same here, but could be worse. So, yeah,

I don't know. And then we got the trailer for

a movie that I don't think we needed at all because

the original film is 25 years old this year.

Super Troopers, originally released in theaters

February 18th, February 15th, well, 2002 in the

US. It originally released january 19th 2001

at sundance so it's 24 25 years old something

like that i don't know i i enjoyed the first

one a lot yeah it was great for what it was yep

uh the second one was super like unexpected with

some of it like they had canadian mounties yep

against them And it was pretty like disgusting

in parts of it. Yeah. Like, cause they, there

was a lot of nudity in it. Uh, this one, this

third one appears to be no different, uh, in

that department. So I'm not in favor of that.

Like, I think the movie will be funny. Yeah.

I just don't, I don't necessarily, need all that

could make it funny yeah i don't well so for

me when i watched the trailer i i was i was kind

of like okay it's the same normal stuff they're

doing the same stuff whatever they're doing the

same jokes they're whatever kind of thing and

then they brought out the snake and i'm like

no If he's going to get bitten by that snake,

nope, I'm out. Oh, he did. I know. I know he

got, that's what I'm saying. I'm like, nope.

I just, I guess I'm like Indy or Indy. I forget

which one it is. It's either Indiana Jones Jr.

Or it's Henry Jones. I forget which one. One

of the two. One of them's afraid of snakes. The

other one's afraid of rats. And it's like, Nope,

I'm out. I can't do. Nope. I'm not into the whole

snake thing. So, and honestly, super troopers

to me, like I never want, like I, I remember

watching the second films trailer. I'm like,

not for me. Super troopers to me is one of those

movies where. It specifically has a beginning,

middle and end like everything does. But at the

end, it doesn't leave you on a to my remembrance.

It doesn't leave you on a cliffhanger. It doesn't

leave you on. Oh, we need to follow them into

their next adventure. It leaves you. It leaves

everybody in the film. Oh, this person's going

this way. This person's going that way. Everybody

gets what they want. Everybody gets a happy ending.

There's no need to go do other... There's no

cliffhanger. There's no hanging jewels. There's

no low balls. There's no fruit here. There's

no nothing. There's nothing in the original Super

Troopers to me that would require them to release

a... sequel yet a threequel and the super troopers

2 came out in 2018 so from was it 95 the original

no 2001 to 2018 so that was what almost 18 years

17 years different oh my god that's I missed

the time and went like Beverly Hills cop 84,

87, 94. That was fine. Now I understand why it

took until 2024. I'm fine with that because Beverly

Hills cop four was an actual good film. That

was more than fine. But like, if you're gonna

make the Marvel cinematic universe, we can go

through all that. but that was from 2008 to 2019.

You had a film or a television show every other

year or every third year. You know what I mean?

I don't know. Super Troopers 3 is not something

that's going to be on my watch list at all. I'll

probably see it when it comes out. And then again,

it's not something I'm like Uber, you know, enthusiastic.

No. And then the big topic we have for tonight,

folks, I found this, uh, it was via clown fish

TV on their YouTube channel. They did a video

about how dynamic pricing should be illegal.

And in their video, they were talking about how

various stores and various. things like uber

and other things do dynamic pricing and how like

like uh card programs like if you have a kroger

um shopper card or whatever that you scan and

how everything tracks your your shopping or how

all this stuff and everything else and i'm just

like yeah like oh you've looked at this thing

for four times and it's so funny with the dynamic

pricing stuff like i've been adding things to

my watch list on ebay not a lot but like just

as a room like the watch list on ebay is kind

of like a faves list on amazon or wish list or

whatever uh But I've been adding a couple of

things to my watch list on eBay. And then every

couple of days, oh, the seller sent you an offer

for this item. And I'm like, nope, can't get

it yet. Or nope, can't do it kind of thing. But

the dynamic pricing on some stuff, it's like,

oh, my God. Limited time offer now. Come get

this now. It's at the lowest price it'll ever

be. Must buy now. Must buy now. And I'm like,

oh, my God. The dynamic pricing specifically

for Uber stuff, for rideshare stuff, that's crazy.

That's absolutely nuts. Oh, my God. Yeah. I've

seen this in places and I've seen it coming.

I've seen instances where it happens. I mean,

they do that with gas too, but Maryland actually

is becoming the first state to ban dynamic surveillance

pricing. Yep. Effective October 1st. And it prohibits

retailers from using consumer data to raise prices

on items. In actuality, what they're doing is

they're also scanning your phone when you go

in the store. It's... marketing speak here they're

geofencing and geotargeting a lot of these places

and anybody that goes in the vicinity of that

their phone picks it up and then it tracks and

targets you when you go home and then of course

because your phone listens to you it has that

information the next time you go out so that's

how it all works It's crazy, folks, and it really

should be illegal, honestly. Oh, 100%. It really

should be. Because, like, look, everybody wants

the same price. Like, this is hilarious. I don't

know if this was a sale or what. Normally, when

I go on DoorDash and I go to my local Meijer

grocery store here on DoorDash, when I can find

it, Where'd it go? No, not tractor. Are they

closed already? Oh, God. They're probably closed

already. Anyway. Yeah, they're probably closed.

So, anyway, when I go to Meijer, usually, on

DoorDash, and I look for the 24 packs of Diet

Coke that I buy, Uh, this one time, I think it

was last month or maybe it was in February. Normally

the 24 packs are 15, nine or 1499. So 15 bucks.

I'm like, okay, that's fine. I I'm going to buy

the soda anyway. It doesn't matter. Sometimes

there'll be on sale for 1199. I'm like, oh, okay,

cool. One time in February, I've met in the,

in all the time that I've lived here. In Indiana,

the four years I've lived here, I've lived here

since 2022. I have never seen at any store in

this area, the 24 packs of Diet Coke be $9 .99.

It went to $9 .99 when I opened the app. I'm

like, are you kidding me? I stocked up. I'm like,

okay, I'll buy five immediately. I'm like, I'm

going to drink it anyway. It's my favorite soda.

It kept me in Diet Coke for like a month and

a half or more. But like never did I see, I've

never seen 24 -pack of Diet Coke at $10 on that

app ever. You know, so it, but yeah, no, dynamic

pricing just. There are certain things in this

world can be dynamic. Pricing should not be one

of them. No. At all. No, not at all. So yeah,

I think that's it for the topics. Anything else

you'd like to say? Anything else you got going

on that you want to talk about? No, I mean, I'm

just kind of working on some different stuff

with Geekcast Radio's legal footprints. I'm also

working on the Beast Wars Megatron helmet. Which

I recently completed printing. Now I have to

sand it down, smooth it out. I'm going to wet

sand it and then I'm going to. After that, get

some of the fill in paint, spray paint. And then.

Honestly, I'm probably going to. spray painted

I've been looking how to make it metallic and

make it like stand out so I've been watching

some cosplayers how they do that with their like

Iron Man helmets and things like that so they

recommend like using like wet sanding it and

smoothing it out and then they use like a like

a filler paint like a filler primer and it smooths

out a lot of the little lines that are kind of

prominent with 3d prints and then you spray paint

it with a high gloss black and then because it's

high gloss underneath when you hit it with the

other colors they'll be shinier and stand out

more and then you clear coat it when it's all

done so oh nice so i just so happen you have

i i bought the black high gloss uh spray paint

and i bought some like uh there's this special

glue that's made for like any type of plastic

and it's better than super glue like i was using

liquid nail for a minute there and i was trying

and i was like it flakes off uh and then i was

trying like super glue and it works for a while

and then it eventually cracks and breaks off

because i've got a couple situations with that

there's this other glue called e6000 or something

right and it comes in a tube or whatever at walmart

and people have said that that's super good for

3d prints for adhesion and so i'm gonna try that

and then uh put it on the inside of the helmet

where it doesn't matter as much uh and then i'm

gonna get some like foam and stuff and i gotta

uh i got a dremel tool so i'm gonna cut the eyes

out so that i can put light up eyes in it and

uh Yeah, so I'm a little excited about going

that route and getting it done. It's probably

going to take me a while to get it done, like

a couple months, just because I don't have that

kind of time to sit there and mess with it every

day. But I'm pretty jazzed about working on that

helmet because then I can show up on stream with

it. I could use it for the heck of it outside.

Nice. Nice. That's honestly my goal. I want to

use it for that. Awesome. I think it'll be really

cool. I'm also looking using AI to try and figure

out if I can have it like taking a 360 picture

of the Trans Art Toys Beast Megatron Transmetal

to see if I can have it 3D design a 3D print

file of that head. oh wow and then blow it up

and then hollow it out on the inside so i can

you know fit it on my noggin so that would be

cool because that like i don't even need the

whole costume like i just i'm like the full transmittal

like transmittal megatron is like my favorite

design nope plus the dude had both of his arms

yeah so it's like he could He could punch you

and he could hold the golden disc at the same

time. Like the other ones, it's like, I got one

arm. I'm the one arm man. The other one is a

is an animal head. So, yeah, I'm I'm super excited

about it. So, yeah. So I have two sizes of of

Beast Wars Megatron helmets right now. Nice.

One that fits my child and one that fits me.

Because I have put this on my head. It does fit.

Yes, you have. I've seen you do it. Yes. So super

excited about it. Anywho, I think that's about
