About this Episode

A recap of a recent solo business trip and thoughts on the evolving DCEU, specifically rumors regarding Ben Affleck's future as Batman. The episode also highlights several 2018 film releases, including Black Panther, Ready Player One, and Avengers: Infinity War. Finally, there is a discussion on a recent study exploring why millennials favor podcast consumption over traditional media.

Do you start your day? Deciding which video game

you're gonna play. You fight with your family.

Go for which is better, Marvel or DC. The geek

of all your few friends, cause you know what

Batman... and welcome to Altered Geek I'm your

host Stephen C. Phillips and in this episode

of the podcast I am back and what I mean by that

is I've spent a couple days down in Dallas Texas

and yeah it was kind of fun going down there

the Initial shock of the the entire airplane

ride and going by myself kind of wore off after

I actually arrived I will say that and I'm gonna

go through like kind of my my trip and How at

least the plane and all that stuff went I went

got dropped off at the Flint Airport and You

know, we I didn't get there two hours early because

it's a smaller airport although I probably could

have been there another like 20 minutes early

because Got in there and TSA was just a little

bit crazy to say the least backed up and Not

really thinking about it I had all my junk in

my pockets and so I had to dump everything out

anyway and I had about five bins worth of crap

because I had to have my backpack with my clothes

and my stuff in it and then that got flagged

because I didn't I had an apple and egg McMuffin

and Protein bars in there and then I had another

bin with my shoes another one with all my stuff

and my coat another one with my laptop bag and

another one with my laptop so I had a lot of

stuff I had to put back where it goes before

I could jump on the plane and it was a smaller

plane got to Chicago the O 'Hare airport and

managed to Have like a two -hour layover got

on that plane went down to Dallas and got my

car rental which Was kind of a little bit annoying

because they didn't have the car that I asked

for initially and which wasn't that bad because

I ended up with Like a minivan SUV type size

vehicle as opposed to a like Chevy Aveo or basically

a subcompact and so that was kind of nice other

than that they had 15 passenger vans and I was

just thankful to not have to drive one and so

then then I went and I kind of knew the roads

and then I remembered there's toll roads everywhere

down in Texas I had cash but I didn't have because

they use these e -toll type things where they

scan a barcode on the windshield when you're

driving rather than having people at an actual

booth to take money or an automated booth. You

just drive right through. And so, forgetting

this aspect from the last time I went down to

Dallas, I had to input in my GPS a way to avoid

tolls because I was like, I am not paying any

tolls while I'm down here. And so I drove and

then I managed, it just added like 10 minutes

on my drive time because it was basically an

expressway that ran parallel to the other one.

It's just that the other one was faster, more

of an express lane type thing. So then I went

and got a sandwich at Sonic and then went to

my job and hung out there for a while until my

meeting took place, did that, hung out there

through late in the night. And then after I left

work, pretty much just I Went to go get food

and I was trying to figure out where to go after

I found my hotel and I Went and got a Domino's

pizza and Bread bites to myself took them back

to the room checked in get in there and then

it was just an entirely different experience

because I thought I was staying in the same hotel

I stayed in last time I went down there and it

was not. So I get in there and I'm looking around

and there's you know how when you typically go

in a hotel they have you know the magazines and

the pamphlets and all the stuff where they're

trying to upsell you or trying to get a kickback

or trying to get well this thing's like right

by Six Flags in Dallas area, Arlington. And I

am looking for the Wi -Fi password, and I can't

find it. So I called it onto the front desk.

Well, then it disconnects after the guy connects

and says hello. And then I tried it again two

more times after that, and it kept cutting out,

so I said... Great, so I went down and mind you

I'm trying to get on Wi -Fi so that I can work

a little bit more while I'm in my room and so

that I can get on the internet because I don't

really care for what's on cable although I did

watch Die Hard 4 and Terminator 3 while I was

in there, so it wasn't all that bad Then there

was Going down the elevator which that thing

was slow for going down one floor I probably

could have ran down faster, but I didn't want

to trip on my shoelaces because I didn't bother

throwing those together when I ran down and So

they gave me the the Wi -Fi Go back up to my

room Connect to the internet. It was fine then

I go to look for a glass of water like for you

know, they usually have some with the coffee

pot and usually have the Well, they didn't have

that then they didn't have the ice bucket to

fill up ice then they didn't have There was something

else in the room that it was missing and I just

was like this place is hilariously stupid So

I ate my food All of it within the same sitting

got all my extra work done was preparing to record

GCR ends top 100 episode and There was a conflict

of a variety of scheduling issues and so we recorded

it a couple hours from now of when I'm recording

this. The top 100 will be recorded. We were recording

the final episode my it was originally supposed

to be recorded Monday and then Because I needed

to get sleep. I wasn't gonna be able to do that

and then Tuesday there were issues and then Wednesday

I did not want to do that because Just Getting

back home. I Didn't want to deal with that. So

anyways, it's it's being finalized as you're

listening to this so At this point I have no

idea who the winners are of the top 25 I'm suspecting

Joker Vader and a plethora of others Freddy Krueger

and some other ones are gonna end up in the top

10, but We'll just have to wait and see but anyways,

so I'm sitting there and you know the next morning

I'm like, I'm gonna get an early start on this

I woke up early, which was actually I slept in

an hour compared at home because it was in Central

Time not Eastern and Called my kids After I ate

breakfast at the continental breakfast after

I'd already checked out and already take all

my stuff to the car So I'm all done by This is

like 845 so I drive to the airport fill up the

car drive the car back to The rental return place

went right through breezed right through that

Breezed right through TSA because I carried absolutely

nothing in my pockets this time I left everything

in the bag Took my laptop out, had it in there,

had my shoes. Literally didn't have to take anything

off my person. So all I had to do was throw my

shoes on, throw my laptop back in the bag, and

then throw my bags over my shoulder and I was

good. So I did that and then I went to go find

my terminal after I got my tickets. There was

nobody there because I was there four hours early

because I'm a nutcase. And so I punched in, worked

from the booth until my plane picked me up and

then I worked on some other things on the plane.

And I rode on a 787 for the first time, which

was kind of cool. It was the three column of

seating, and I've never ridden on one of those

before. Always wanted to, because you see them

in movies, but I've never seen one in person.

They're nice. Got to watch Pirates of the Caribbean

on the number five on the way home to Chicago

and So I did that after I worked a little bit

there and then Got to the the Chicago terminal

which mind you the Dallas terminal is so much

nicer than every other airport I've been to It's

just technologically up -to -date, modernized.

Get to the Chicago one. Not only could I not

find Wi -Fi to connect to, but when I could connect

to it, it wouldn't get online, so that was an

issue. So I had to work for my phone, which I

can do, but it's more difficult. And ended up

going to get myself some McDonald's. I haven't

had that in a while, so I figured, eh, let's

try it out. So I did that. ate pretty well, went

to work on my phone until it was time to board

the plane, our flight attendant, which I got

a window seat again on this trip because the

Flint to Chicago trip, either there or back,

it's like half a capacity, and I ended up by

myself both times, which was quite nice. So I

was able to stretch out and kind of just work

in peace and it was kind of nice But the the

flight attendant was just he was being a comedian,

but he was he was informing at the same time

guy was freaking awesome He had like a raving,

you know round of applause while he was he was

doing it and then shortly thereafter we get back

and I'm getting ready to leave the terminal and

my wife and kids are coming up the escalator

to come see me and So yeah, that was that was

pretty much my whole trip and Had a lot of fun

got to meet a lot of people I didn't know in

person previously that I worked with and it was

a lot of fun The the temperatures were 30 degree

difference Michigan it was like 45 and down in

Texas it was 75. So it was it was a nice difference

in Temperature although I have to say for the

nighttime. I slept miserably there Compared to

here. I can get four hours sleep here in Michigan

and it's I'm perfectly fine with it because our

heat, we can't afford to heat our house very

well. Let's put it this way, it would be nice

to have it hot and then of course being down

there and having it hot and then I walked in

my room and it was an igloo and so like the stark

differences of what you're used to it's kind

of funny. I'm used to sleeping in the cold and

down there I was warm so it was kind of difficult

for me to sleep like I said so. But yeah, the

whole trip went safe, went good. It was really

a new experience, to say the least, of trying

to do things on my own. But I guess before I

go on to another tangent or another story, I

have a few things I'm gonna cover in this episode.

One of them are gonna be some of the 2018 films

that I'm looking forward to. as well as the fact

that there's a lot of stuff going on, whether

Ben Affleck will or won't be Batman going forward,

and then there's some TV and film news. But I'd

like to thank one of the sponsors of the show,

and that would be Gamefly .com, which you can

sign up... For a premium free 30 -day trial with

one game or film out at a time by going to gameflyoffer

.com slash altered geek If you like to show it's

a good way to support There will be soon a a

method of buying altered geek merchandise For

the for the podcast if you'd want to support

me in that way and wear some gear or Have some

cool swag for your desk I'm going to try some

of that out. I'm also going to incorporate some

of that into a Patreon as well. I do have a Patreon

page. It's patreon .com slash altergeek, I believe.

Haven't done much with it because I'm still trying

to figure out the platform. I generally shy away

from stuff like this, but I would like to create

more content, more specialized content that people

actually want. Aside from just this podcast it

would all be like altered geek branded stuff

You know alter geek all things transformers future

imperfect Cyber Dragon Ball stuff in that realm

so if people want something specific just let

me know and I'll start setting up the patreon

or some merchandise and whatnot. Like I said,

those are things that are coming down the pipe.

I have no idea when that's gonna get completed.

It's just something I'm working on at the moment.

So I'm gonna take a quick break and come back

on the other side with what I mentioned previously.

And we're back. So... If anybody's been watching

geekcastradio .com, you'll notice I've been tweaking

some things here or there. We're gonna be moving

to a new format in the future. And that format

will be more of a TV slash radio clock, as far

as the podcast releases are concerned. And so

the weekly show schedule that has been on the

dot com since version 1 .0, in varying, differing

design capacities. I'm still tweaking it. Right

now it's got all the, because the previous show

schedule where you could toggle through the days,

not only was it outdated, but it just was broken.

So I removed that. I did like it for a time.

However, the schedule was changing so frequently.

of when things were coming out and certain shows

weren't on hiatus and were on hiatus and were

in the planning and not in the planning and so

I just revamped it and completely threw it away.

So I have a new one that's in the process of

being finalized. I've got quasi what the schedule

is going to be on there as well as the modern

show arts. And also, when I complete it, the

show arts will not be displayed. It will be the

show title. And you'll be able to hover over

the titles and see the show art and be able to

click on the title itself. And it will link you

to the category of that podcast. I know that

there's another spot. I know they show up in

the featured. I know they show up in the latest

podcast area. This is a way that people can keep

track of where the shows are coming out. You'll

notice a few older shows coming back and some

newer ones joining the schedule. It's going to

be a lot of fun as we progress through that.

going to get into the first bit of drama and

I'm going to start out with the DCEU and we had

this conversation on Twitter because there's

rumors that Ben Affleck may drop out as Batman

for the Matt Reeves films and with Flashpoint

they may reboot with a new Batman and because

Ben Affleck's made the comments that he'd like

to leave it gracefully or that he can't do this

forever and what not. And mind you, this is only

his second film. He was in Suicide Squad for

like three seconds as Bruce Wayne, but and well,

and at the beginning a little bit as well as

Batman, but he's pretty much only been in Batman

v Superman and Justice League and I'd hate to

see this guy get replaced, especially when The

comment was floated on Twitter as well that Robert

Downey Jr. started the Marvel Cinematic Universe

in 2005 and he's not showing any want to get

out at all. And yet the DC people are like, I'm

bailing ships, you know, thanks, I've done it,

see ya. And I don't know what to think about

that. I can't imagine somebody else playing Bruce

Wayne or Batman. at this point because I really

like Ben Affleck's I think he fits the appearance

and the visuals of the DC AU as far as Bruce

Wayne and his persona is Bruce Wayne I think

for his Batman he fits the kind of Dark Knight

Returns comic aesthetic And so you kind of get

this nice balance between the two and he's got

almost that new 52 look just kind of like what

myself and Michael Powers have have mentioned

in the past when we we created the the aesthetic

concept before it was actually displayed And

I would just hate to see this guy drop being

Batman I didn't care much for Bale's Batman or

his Bruce Wayne, so to me, this doesn't mean

much. I mean, Bale was still better than Kilmer

or Clooney, but for me, previously, Keaton was

Batman. So, again, I don't know what to think

about this. I really wonder what you guys think

about this. You can leave comments on the episode

post or on the Twitters at alteredgeek. And then

one of our friends, DJ Valentine, who's on simplistic

reviews and been on the Top 100 with us, mentions,

you know, with all this drama, perhaps it's best

the DCEU continue making polarizing films. Whenever

they do, the fervor of fans and critics are equally

potent. Think pieces are written even before

the film gets released Twitter is overrun indie

films would kill for this He's right because

I mean good publicity bad publicity. It's still

publicity and it's getting the word out of the

film So people are gonna go see it because of

that Yeah, I don't know what to think yet about

the film from what I've heard The flash was such

a likable character that they've decided that

they want to fast -track the Flashpoint. And

you know that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will end up

playing Flashpoint Batman just because he played

Bruce Wayne or Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman

when they did the flashback, which I wish they'd

stop doing, period. Like, just stop. That was

one thing I loved about the new Spider -Man homecoming

movie. they they ripped out the whole Uncle Ben

scene of watching Uncle Ben die and then you

know great responsibility and whatnot it it still

showed a raw spider -man but he was not it they

skipped that whole thing so yeah I I don't really

know what to think on the DC universe I really

I really don't but there's just there's been

a lot of news circling either way of you know

will he won't he blah blah blah blah blah so

however there is uh reviews popping up about

justice league like slash film says it uh it's

a safer far less interesting dc superhero movie

um i i i don't know i'll i'll wait and and actually

give my thoughts on it after I see the the film.

The general consensus that I'm seeing though

is that they're saying that it's good but it's

perhaps a little lesser than its predecessors

due to how much it tries to scale back its ambitions

and play by the rules and too much trying to

incorporate soundtracks and all these other things

that have to do with the other characters which

I can kind of see. how that would turn out. They

gave it a 6 out of 10 though. I think that the

film is going to be alright. I don't think it's

going to be awesome, but I think it's going to

be alright. So going into some of the 2018 films

that I'm kind of looking at, I haven't done too

much research into this yet. Looks like in January

we have another Liam Neeson film in The Commuter.

Paddington 2, which funny enough, I saw Paddington

1 with my oldest Ian in theater, which was our

first experiment to take him to the movie theater

and he could care less. He watched parts of the

movie and just was kind of like, bleh. And then

we have The Maze Runner, The Death Cure. which

I'm kind of looking forward to. Going into February,

I don't really see anything other than Black

Panther that's actually worth noting for geekdom

purposes. Then getting into March, we have some

interesting things. We have Death Wish, which

is the old Charles Bronson movies remade this

time with Bruce Willis. I'll be interested in

that more so because I used to watch the original

ones. I don't know if they're going to be all

that awesome. We could see something halfway

decent happen with it anyway. Getting into more

of that particular month we have a Wrinkle in

time which I remember reading that in elementary

school For an English kind of assignment, I don't

remember really much about it other than the

fact that it has to do with Kids trying to search

to find their father in this weird alternate

land of sorts and It's Kind of different I don't

really know much else about it like I mean I've

watched the trailer the trailer looks pretty

good you have three different witches and Kind

of rulers of different lands So It like I said

it could be could be pretty good. It's got Chris

pine in it Oprah in it Reese Witherspoon Zach

Gallifig and Gallif Gallif a knackus. I can't

say that guy's name Among other people, Tomb

Raider comes out in March as well, which I'm

interested to see how this rendition takes. It

looks like it's more geared towards the rebooted

video game series than the mess that we got previously

with Angelina Jolie. Not to say that they weren't

fun movies, but they weren't particularly good

either. But they were a product of their time,

much like a lot of other films we've gotten.

There's Pacific Rim Uprising as well, and I'm

not... I didn't see the first one, but that's

more so because I didn't care. But this has John

Boyega in it and Scott Eastwood are probably

the only names that I even recognize remotely.

And then Ready Player One, which is the Steven

Spielberg film. I'm intrigued by this because

I don't... know much about it other than the

fact that it's a networked virtual utopia of

sorts. It's got Simon Pegg, T .J. Miller and

other people in it that I'm not familiar with,

but it has to do with an eccentric billionaire

who creates the Oasis or whatever that is. But

yeah, I'm interested in seeing that when that

comes out as well. So going to April, we have

not really much that I can see. We have Super

Troopers 2, which comes out in 4 .20, which I'm

interested in seeing. Because it's super troopers,

although it's long overdue for coming out And

then May we get infinity war Avengers, which

is gonna be awesome And then solo a Star Wars

story and Later in that same month. I'm I'm kind

of looking forward to seeing what what comes

out and how these turn out when they're out I

Know I've just said out like way too many times

But I'm going to have these also listed on the

main page of Geekcast Radio when 2018 rolls around

and after the upcoming films thing drops off

the site of the site, I'll have these pop up

and be able to toggle through them and maybe

like a little IMDB thing on them. And then June

we get Deadpool 2, we get Oceans 8, the females

Oceans film, Incredibles 2, Jurassic World Fallen

Kingdom, and that's pretty much it. So Deadpool

2, Incredibles 2, and Jurassic World 2 are pretty

much my go -to for that month. And then July

we have Ant -Man and the Wasp. If you'd like

Adam Sandler and his animated adventures of Hotel

Transylvania, the third one comes out in July

as well. And then Teen Titans Go to the movies

and Mission Impossible 6. August they have the

predator They have the equalizer too, I think

that was I think that was a film with Denzel

Washington Could be could be wrong. I believe

it is he was Like a private detective who handles

problems so supposed to be a few people coming

back for that and then Yeah, there's there's

a Scarface remake Then yeah, nothing else really

for August which is kind of typical there's not

usually much for that time of year September

we got another Robin Hood reboot coming Goosebumps

2 Looks about it, which is kind of ridiculous

and sad at the same time and then October they

have an untitled DC Film Venom Halloween reboot

or not reboot. Well, it's continuation the Jungle

Book and Yeah, it looks about it and then they

don't have anything for November of 2018 doesn't

appear Yeah, November 2018 there's a X -Men Dark

Phoenix and then In oh, I didn't know you could

do that Yeah, so yeah, and then and then getting

into December there's Nothing listed either so

I'm kind of in this boat of waiting to see what

comes out. I know that they're also developing

a multiple man movie with James Franco set in

it. I honestly could care less, but it's still

nice to see them kind of trying to dip into other

characters that they haven't previously used.

I don't know, what are some movies that stick

out to you guys that you guys want to see next

year that are going to be coming out, whether

they're geek -centric or not, just out of curiosity

because I'm kind of looking in that direction.

And then speaking of movies coming out in December

of this year, Star Wars, because of the Rianne

Jackson, or Ryan Jackson, Johnson, why am I saying

Jackson? Ryan Johnson. doing episode 8, they

liked it so much at Lucasfilm that they're giving

him his own trilogy, where he can do whatever

he wants, basically. So we couldn't actually

see something that takes place in the past or

way in the future and has nothing to do with

any of the Skywalker or Emperor Palpatine or

any of this, and so I am kind of glad to hear

that. it means we may actually go to a galaxy

far far away and have something a long long time

ago that's far away from what we've been getting.

What I'd like them to do with it though is I

would like to see them go back to the Old Republic

or maybe the the start of the whole force with

the Grey Jedi. That would be a nice parallel

to episode 8 of what they're talking about of

the Jedi and the Sith need to end. and that would

kind of give them new ground to play on without

having to step on anything between episode one

and episode nine and any of the individual films

that take place in between and the animated series

that have come out and it would give them a nice

span of time that they could play in that Doesn't

necessarily have to relate or even if they went

in the future even that's that's another direction

because then they could reference things from

the past but not necessarily have to To keep

hold of much of it. So Only time will tell what

they they end up writing and directing in that

that new series and and when those start coming

out but I Did think that that was kind of interesting

news So I'm gonna take a quick break come back

on the other side with a quick article that I

noticed and some questions about next week And

we're back so What are some of the plans that

you guys have for next week? What do you guys

do for Thanksgiving week? What are some traditions

that you guys kind of hang on to? What are some

things you try and go after being that it'll

be Black Friday? Cyber Monday or any of those

sales in between Myself I'm not a participant

in any of it anymore I might order something

have it shipped to my house, but I don't actually

physically get out in any of it anymore I just

I find it Too much traffic and too much worrying

plus I've got kids now And I just don't have

time to go out and buy garbage that I don't need

So Yeah, I I don't I mean I like some of the

sales that they have and some of the stuff they

have it's just I don't have the I Kind of have

to weigh what I buy anymore Whether it's something

I need or or something. I I'm just wanting at

that time because it's on sale I Will say that

some of my favorite gimmicks were like when they

had certain movies on sale I would go put them

in the furniture in the furniture aisle and And

hide them in the drawers of the the desks and

the dressers and then go back and reclaim them

later Before the sales would would be done unless

they had a specific special one that you know

They had behind a special cellophane tape Cart

But yeah, that's that's mostly what I used to

do when I used to go to Black Friday events My

wife would and I would kind of split and kind

of go in different directions And this year is

actually one of the first years we're not going

to multiple houses well to eat on Thanksgiving

we're just gonna be going to my in -laws eating

there and visiting my mom and then going home

Christmas time, it's usually a little bit different.

We usually hit up all three houses, but we hit

up my in -laws the night before on the 24th,

and then the 25th we hit up my moms, and then

we hit up my dads thereafter, but yeah, that's

typically how those holidays go for me. And then

my son, he's just turned five, and of course

when this episode comes out, this will be after

Thanksgiving and on Black Friday, so happy sales

when that happens. Let me know what you guys

are geeking out to. Use the hashtag What'sGeeky2U

and connect with me on Twitter. I'd kind of like

to hear what you guys have going on right now.

It's been a little quiet on the interwebs. There's

not really been all that much going on lately.

Unless you're a follower of Star Trek or any

of the TV shows which will have our crossover

event coming. fairly quickly, I think it's next

week, of the variety of superheroes colliding

in one colossal battle. And Star Trek actually

did halfway decent in its season finale, or mid

-season finale. So, you want to hear my thoughts

on that? Go to Future Imperfect. I will be recording

another episode on that. And then of course we

have, I found this article earlier and it says

five reasons why millennials lead other generations

in podcast consumption. And it says, what about

millennials? Millennials drive cars, yes, but

they listen to far less radio than their parents,

which is true. I more so just got tired of listening

to radio most of the time. It says, A recent

study is that 42 % of those between age 18 and

34 listen to podcasts at least once a week and

the percentage is even greater for parts of the

next generation 12 to 17 year olds. I don't consider

myself a millennial. We had this kind of weird

conversation that somehow got brought up in Keycast

Radio's Top 100 post of what constitutes a millennial

and what they've seen and haven't seen and it

was kind of interesting. I don't consider myself

a millennial. I think I fall into that range,

but I'm still enough of the old hat that I can

function in both worlds. But it says the main

key points are, the five key points they mention

are podcasts are easy and efficient, and millennials

certainly value that. It takes no more than a

phone and earbuds and hands -free listening.

It says millennials have an on -demand mentality,

which I always knew that. I've kind of got that

anymore. I used to not. Well, actually, I've

always been impatient, so I guess it doesn't

really matter. It says just like their favorite

music artists and live streaming shows, they

have their favorite podcast series or broadcasts

that friends and coworkers have recommended.

Number three is tech advancement and ease of

use. Auto manufacturers have made it easier for

drivers to connect their smartphones to their

cars. through USB and Bluetooth, which I've used

a lot of that. I've mostly used the USB because

I load them up on a flash drive and plug them

in, which is easier than using my phone. I do

that for my music, too, though. This says, non

-fiction and reality content has become a thing

with millennials for number four, meaning that

podcasts allow them to access specific preferences.

which broadcast radio has assumed incorrectly

that millennials only want music. It turns out

they want non -fiction broadcasts on their phones,

kind of like serial or old -time radio, which

I've given thought to as well. Number five, getting

news on the go has become much more attractive

to millennials because it's not just the headlines,

but they go deeper dives into events and issues,

and it says they like deeper dives. between political,

social, and economic. I like to think media as

well. And then it kind of mentions how millennials

do read, but it's not their thing. It's time

-consuming and requires a non -mobile stationary

position at a PC or mobile device with tiny print.

It's inconvenient and requires sifting through

irrelevant content, which is probably why when

I went through college, I absorbed the information

I heard. and I skimmed everything to get what

I needed out of it instead of reading the bulk

of it and I actually did not have to read any

of my blasted textbooks for the last like three

and a half years I was in college. I didn't actually

need any of my textbooks which was pretty sad

to say and I did fairly well. I got A's and B's

in all my classes throughout college and I didn't

really open my textbook. I just paid attention

to what the teacher said and a lot of it was

common sense which I didn't think I was gonna

skate through college without having to read

a book, but I still bought them in case I needed

them, but it was kind of a waste. I ended up

running most of what I could. I don't like to

read if I don't have to, and so if I can get

the gist out of what it's saying, don't give

me this long, convoluted message in print. Just

tell me what I need and then leave it. So I mean,

in that essence, I'm a millennial, but... I still

remember the days of dial -up internet and pre

-internet and you know using MS -DOS and 486

computer and things like that, so Well, I hope

you guys kind of enjoyed this episode I know

it was kind of long -winded and kind of in a

weird direction, but I'm going to have a co -host

with me next week, so we'll see where it goes,

so Thank you for joining me on Altered Geek,

and as always, get Altered Geeky with the Altered
