Ladies and gentlemen before we get to what happens

on today's from the command center This is TF2

and Mike and I just want to let you all know

it has been two years to the day since Scotty

and I started from the command center 311 2011

we started from the command center with episode

1 granted episode 0 and the Lisa J episode happened

in February of 2011 but episode 1 March 11th,

2011. So it's been two years. It's been a wonderful

journey. Thank you all for being fans and listening

to us and agreeing or disagreeing or having fights

with us or whatever, sending us long emails.

Thank you very much for all the support. Can't

thank you enough. From the Command Center we'll

continue on, as you'll hear in the episode. Episode

23, we're going to be doing the best and worst.

PR theme songs. And episode 24 is going to be

a Scotty and Spada episode where they gush and

gush over any and all Power Rangers toys, merchandise,

everything else. After that, episode 25 coming

in August, we'll start the commentaries. So let's

get to today's episode of From the Command Center

episode 22, our top 20 favorite Power Rangers

seasons. Hello everyone, this is Jason Davis

Frank, and you are listening from the Command

Center GeekCast Radio Network. Today on Power

Rangers. Welcome to a collaboration between the

GeekCast Radio Network and the Pop Culture Network.

This is from the Command Center, the podcast

episode 22. I am one of your hosts, T .O. John

Mike, and joining me from PCN is Scotty Cash.

Hello. How are you? Pretty good. That's good.

I'm sorry in the same way. I was really looking

forward to that guys and so I'm sorry Maybe we

can just redo it. It was so good. Oh, no. No

you dare How dare you try to put spade and I

through that crap again, holy shit But yeah Scotty

is back for episode 22 and as you heard spade

of the boat matrix The world famous YouTuber

is here as well. Greetings, ladies and gentlemen.

Yes, that's right. And tonight we're going to

be counting down our top 20 favorite, we're not

saying these are the best or the worst, but they're

our favorite, seasons from the Power Rangers

American franchise. Close to the end of the podcast,

FEDA is going to have a separate special Sentai

clip that you'll hear as well. Before we continue,

I do have to say something about that clip specifically.

Now, there are 35 different Super Sentai series

out there, yet not all of them have been subtitled.

I've actually seen a few of them unsubbed in

their original Japanese, and they're just as

incomprehensible as you think they would be.

So you watched the entire season? Yes, I have

watched an entire season. This was several years

ago. Now I have to give a big shout out to Guys

using got grown -ups in spandex I've got to give

a huge shout out to them because they're going

back and they're subbing a lot of the older series

like flash man mask man jet man live man bio

bio man or if you're French bioman So they're

going back and they're subbing a lot of these

older series. So if you guys can go ahead and

check them out There are a couple of they've

got a couple of torrents out there that are doing

The full run of some of these older shows that

they've completed Very very interesting All right,

if you want Mike, I will be happy to burn a copy

for you of the DVD and Just for you, I'll dub

all the voices. No, no, no, no. I'm sorry. I

just can't. I would actually watch that spade

up, but you have to do like when a girl talks,

you have to go like, you know, I mean, like in

a different chick voice. I would actually watch

an episode of that. I have a wife now. Yeah,

he has a wife. I want to hear you do them all

like a puppet show. He has a wife, but he also

has vocoder equipment to where he can alter his

voice, so I'll just auto tune myself I'll sound

like Kesha in about 10 minutes That would be

interesting alright, so as per usual we have

an email or a message from Chaotix over at the

pop culture network forums He says about episode

21 great episode guys while it's unfortunate

that Scottie couldn't be around to help you set

fire to this Hunk of lazy garbage having spit

alive on the cast for a change was nice surprise

Yeah, the acting is usually pretty weak in the

first few episodes of any given PR season the

actors need time to get comfortable playing their

characters and unfortunately for the samurai

cast They weren't given enough space to breathe.

Thanks the exact Japanese direction that they

were copying A small correction, Spada. Mako

from Shinkenger actually was quite terrible cook.

Yes, I got that in a Twitter, actually, from

him. And he was correct. I was getting her mixed

up with a different series. I was getting that

character mixed up with a pink from another series.

You know, there's only so many times pink in...

Yeah, I totally own up to that one. That was

a mistake on my part. Agreed on Mike. His acting

is probably the most national out of all the

Rangers and he was able to break away a bit from

the tight direction to actually emote a bit more.

I actually really like Antonio because even though

he's pretty similar to Genta, some aspects of

him are toned down to more realistic levels and

he's able to add a little something to the character

as a result. For example... When Genta became

afraid of the fish, his tone was very over -the

-top and comedic, whereas with Antonio, his acting

was more like he was going through an actual

phobia and more reserved. The changes are pretty

subtle, but they work, essentially giving Antonio's

character a bit of a different flavor as a result.

Also, Antonio was a fisherman and samurai rather

than a sushi chef like Genta, but hey, a freaky

fish guy is a freaky fish guy in the end. Spada's

idea of Bulk mentoring the Samurai Rangers actually

sounds pretty cool. It's a pity that Saban didn't

consider something like that when they casted

Paul Sphere in the first place. Yeah... I don't

know what his comment was, but that's a terrible

idea. No, no, no, no, no. If you go back and

you listen to episode 21 where Spada and I talked

about Samurai... I hate Bulk. I know, okay, fine,

you hate Bulk. Well, okay, you hate Bulk, but

imagine if they took Bulk... and actually matured

him. I mean, really matured him into a coherent

adult. So he didn't get stuff thrown in his face

every episode after telling me? Exactly. Exactly.

That might be a little different. Imagine if

I can't remember what the actor's name is. It's

Paul. Paul Schrier. Imagine like you've seen

him actually. You know when when the actor now

director is talking he's very articulate He's

he shows a lot of intelligence imagine that as

bulk Yeah, him entering the samurai range. That's

a little bit better than bulkering around with

like spike trying to do it. Yes, I Know yeah,

that's that's what we brought up. That's what

we talked about in episode 21 where? Spader brought

up the fact that instead of reverting bulk back

to his teenage years from the MMPR days and pies

in the face and all that stuff like the only

time I thought bulk should have been kind of

comedic the entire season of samurai is at the

end when skull came back like if they were gonna

do what Spada suggested I thought that that would

be the only you know good comedic timing for

for bulk but that's that's a good idea and it's

a damn shame they never did it He also goes on

to say, as for my thoughts on the Megaforce premiere,

I really enjoyed it. The story was fun, the acting

was natural, far better than any of the Samurai

Rangers in my humble opinion. The characters

were fresh rather than being sentai clones. And

above all, it just felt more like PR rather than

a thrown together. in three months attempt to

turn Sentai's show into PR like Samurai did.

I also really liked all of the MMPR nods and

the mention of Zordon as Gosei's mentor. Overall,

I'm really looking forward to seeing where the

season goes. I think it's a really good sign

when I actually want to re -watch the first episode

again. And again, unlike every effort that Samurai

put forth, barring Clash of the Red Rangers,

here's to a good season after two years of laziness.

That's all I've got for you guys. It's been a

pleasure leaving you feedback, trivia, all these

months throughout many seasons worth of discussion,

and I'll definitely be awaiting the supplemental

cast, commentaries, and eventual Megaforce episode

whenever that may be. Keep up the power -packed

work. As far as the Megaforce episode it's ladies

and gentlemen it might be two years before we

get to that because I am currently not like I

can't keep up with the air dates I just can't

I always forget I've got other stuff I'm doing

Do you have a DVR? I'm about to say you don't

have a DVR it's 2013 Michael Yeah you guys want

to pay an extra 30 bucks for me to have a DVR?

Yeah I'll PayPal you Yeah right They are being

oh Hulu They're on Hulu. Okay. Okay. Well if

if that's the case, you know, I'll probably check

them out, but I Figured since with the future

of the podcast The commentaries will not start

until episode 25 Episode 23 and 24. We're gonna

do something a little different episode 24 or

episode 23. We're gonna talk about our The best

and worst PR themes in episode 24 is where we're

gonna talk of this is something Spada and Scotty

will really love We're gonna talk about all the

toys in one big giant discussion. Yeah So So

that'll be that'll be very very interesting.

So yes, the commentaries will start in episode

25 The thing about the commentaries, and I'm

glad that we're not doing them until... They

won't premiere until about August, because the

way that we're gonna do them is Scotty and I

or Scotty Spada and I, whoever wants to be on

whatever episode commentary, we're gonna pre

-record them. And I'm going to publish them as

the episodes aired 30 years ago. So August 28th,

2013 is the 30th anniversary of when Day of the

Dumpster aired. Wait. What? What was that date?

August 28th, I think. Oh, yeah, that's right

old man. Oh god Power Rangers appeared on my

birthday I Think I think it's August 28th. I

could be wrong and might I know it's sometime

in August It was definitely summer ish. So that's

probably right Yeah, but but my point with the

commentaries is that it will be It'll be As the

episodes aired originally in 1993, so when we

get to the Green Candle or Green with Evil, it'll

air on that air date, so as far as the commentaries

go. Yes, are correct. August 28th? Yeah, August

28th, 1993. Huh. You're like a wizard. Alright,

so we're gonna take a quick break and we'll come

back with the countdown. Where'd you get your

spandex? We are back and it is time to count

down our favorite PR seasons. This is specifically

the American version. As I said before, Sentai

will have a clip later from Spada. So coming

in at number 20, what do you got Scotty for your

number 20 favorite season? Of course. Turbo.

Hands down, it was awful. Spada. Mystic Force.

Really? Hated, hated, hated Mystic Force. This

is going to be very interesting. My number 20

is Samurai. There's only... I like bits of Samurai.

I like... The fact that they had Antonio use

technology in order to learn the symbol power,

I like that. I like some of the outfits and some

of the suit designs and some of the zord designs.

Other than that, the story sucked, the acting

was horrible. It's by far the worst season so

far. Was it nearly as bad as Mystic Force or

Turbo? Yes, for me it was. No, that is wrong.

It's worse than those, yes. Your comments are

incorrect. Um, actually... I'm doing this list.

I've I changed my list about about two or three

different times But turbo stayed 20 turbo stayed

20 the entire time and and and I keep going back

to the the thing That I was looking so forward

to turbo that it was such a letdown plus it sucked

terribly so it's like You come in at number 20

because you suck of all suck All right coming

in at number 19. What do you got Scotty turbo

the movie? Even though it's it's it's a way better

than the season. I don't care. It's still turbo

So I associate it with the crappy the crappy

season so It gets hit Operation overdrive. Oh,

wow That that season was such a piece of shit

That is that is that is correct. There were some

good points to overdrive and there was some a

lot of bad points to overdrive And then the whole

thing at the end where, oh, he's actually an

android! I liked that. I liked that though because

it was something different that we hadn't seen

before. At least in the American version. So

wait a minute, you're saying that turning an

Alpha -5 into a Ranger was a good idea? He wasn't

Alpha -5. He was a full -grown... Android that

wasn't a half midget that spoke like a... I don't

know. All right, my number 19 is turbo the season

the reason is even though I like TJ in the new

cast the problem with turbo the season is It

gave absolutely no character development to the

original Rangers before the new Rangers took

over Tommy got no character development on the

fact Okay, I'm gonna race track yay So yeah,

that's that's my number 19 is turbo the season

Alright, moving on to number 18. What do you

got Scotty? Um, overdrive. Wow. Yes sir. I mean

um, numbers like 20 and 19 and like 1 and 2 and

3 and 4 were pretty much set in stone. But like

all the other ones kind of just were kind of,

kind of shuffled there towards the end, you know

what I mean? But, I don't know, overdrive definitely

comes in at number 18. For me anyway. Okay. Spada.

Jungle Fury. Are you drunk? You guys have never

seen the Sentai. They changed the Morpher. They

got rid of Master Shafu. They added a pizza parlor.

They completely changed the past of the Violet

Ranger, or Geki Violet, who was really cool.

and I hated all the characters. The only thing

that was decent about the show was the Black

and Green Rangers. Well, it sucks for you, Spada,

because you have seen both. Yeah, and everything

was done better. Yeah, and that's the downfall,

unfortunately, for you because a lot of the series,

a lot of the seasons... You know, even people

that love the American version say that, you

know what I mean? That it's like the Japanese

versions are so much better than the American

versions. Oh, yes. So it stinks for you, but

if you didn't watch all those, Jungle Fury would

not be number 18 on your list. There were things

in Geki Ranger, which is what Jungle Fury was

made of, that if you watch Geki Ranger, you will

find out that there is not an original idea at

all in Jumbo Fury. They're the only, I'll take

that back, their only original plot point, not

plot point, the only original thing in that whole

series are the fact that their morphers are fucking

sunglasses. Which is awful. I'm gonna put my

Ray -Bans on, I'm a Power Ranger! I think that

was racist, I'm sorry. I'm very offended. I'm

not sure why, but I'm very offended. I'm offended.

I said it. It wasn't the Jungle Fury Black Ranger

that actually is a thief, right? No, that was

overdrive. Okay, that was overdrive. It wasn't

a Black Ranger in Jungle Fury unless you're counting

the Master or whatever. Yeah, the master. Alright,

my number 18 is Turbo the Movie. It was so much

better than the season. It's not the best thing

ever, obviously, because we have 17 more choices

that are better than it, but I enjoyed Turbo

the Movie more so than I did the entire season

of Turbo. Scotty, what is your number 17? Samurai!

Okay, then. Yes, sir. Alright, well why don't

you go ahead and give your thoughts on Samurai

just in general and brief because since you didn't

get to be on the actual episode I would prefer

not to but since you guys put me on the spot

overall Like I love the Zords I love some of

the like pretty much exactly what you said Mike

the costumes were awesome I did like I wish we

would have used the Japanese morpher because

I really did do dig the like the paintbrush effect

I didn't like how we used it. I'm not sure how

they used it like when you had to assemble to,

I don't know, there was so much crap, but the

acting was terrible, there wasn't any intensity,

everything seemed fake, there was no like, nobody

was like genuine, like the Blue Ranger, Kevin,

was just god awful, it was just terrible, and

then, like I talked to that dude in person, like

on more than one occasion, and that dude's heartfelt,

and he's like funny, and he's like hysterical,

and then you watch Samurai and you're just like,

This stick up his ass. Yeah, this is this is

that's not you I've seen him and I seen him in

the first time I seen him was in a bathroom like

right before like an interview I did he was cussing

and he was joking around and everything I was

like, oh this dude's actually really cool and

he was like doing his hair and he was like making

fun of Mike, you know And I was like, yeah, this

dude's cool. Then you watch shame on you're like,

yeah that dude he sucks So I will say the only

thing I kind of didn't mention earlier about

Samurai is that I like that the Red Wild Force

Ranger was the villain, or one of the villains.

That was kind of cool. Yeah. Alright, Spada,

what is your number 17? Diva Tox needs to die!

I will admit... Good. One positive thing about

Turbo, it actually had some development for Vulcan

Skull. Yeah, and Tommy was in it. And yes, Tommy

was in it, but I didn't like any of the Rangers.

Nope. I didn't really care for... Oh, what was

her name? The lady in the tomb. Oh, not Divatox.

Symmetria. Symmetria. Yeah, she was dumb. Yeah,

but I will say that Turbo has the strange Well,

let's just say car Ranger which turbo is from

isn't even on my list for favorite sent us Yeah

Didn't even make the most of the sent I Know

that that's what saved the sent I because it

was so dumb. Oh Yeah. My number 17 is Mystic

Force. I said. I hate the themes. No, no, no,

no. I'm sorry. The story overall, once it got

close to the end and we found out the story of

Nick and all that, I kind of liked it. I liked

it better than what the crap they did with Turbo

and all that stuff and Samurai, but the theme

song kind of sucks. The costumes. the regular

costumes with the friggin capes those are just

butt ugly and there really wasn't anyone that

like that stood out there wasn't like that sixth

ranger that kind of you know kind of like a Tommy

or a Dylan or you know somebody that actually

stood out there just wasn't that at all so alright

Scotty what is your number 16? RPM Enough said.

I just agree with you on that. Just get all the

crappy car, all the crappy car -poweringers out

of the way. Oh jeez. That's how you made your

list, huh? Yep. Nah, I just didn't, I mean, it

was okay. I just didn't, I wasn't really feeling

it compared to the next. RPM and Mystic Force

were toe -to -toe and then everything else I

actually really enjoyed. So everything up to

this, the next one, which is going to be Mystic

Force for 15. Everything up to this after after

that is actually It could be shuffled all the

way around almost because I really enjoyed all

of the other seasons except for the ones we just

named They're all pretty terrible Samurai Did

not like samurai not I didn't like it I Think

the thing that really irritates me is the treatment

that bandai gave samurai You had a show that

did not need to be stretched over two years There's

no doubt about that Spada you're definitely know

something because it took away from the main

storylines Because it was so stretched out like

oh Decker and Jayden are gonna fight for 11 episodes

Yeah, so it takes away from like the intensity

again where it was It was completely lacked.

Oh yeah. I love their costumes though. My number

16 is Wild Force. Crazy. The only redeeming quality

this series has for me anymore is Forever Red.

If I could take Forever Red out of that thing,

Wild Force, I like the character of Merrick,

I like that whole angle. Cuz it's kind of like

a repeat of the Tommy thing from from the old

MMPR days, but other than that I just didn't

I Just didn't care for wild force at all. So

that comes in at number 16 for me Scotty number

15 mystic force Mystic force the 15 through 20

are all terrible So there was I mean that those

kind of got mixed around because I couldn't I

couldn't decide which one I hated them the most

But mr. Force did have some qualities to me,

but that's why it's the best of the suck so Now

that we got all the crap ones out of the way

we can talk good stuff. All right, it's beta

15 turbo the movie Hmm What about you Michael,

okay ninja storm Really? Yeah, ninja storm. I

liked it. I thought it was interesting that's

much later but uh yeah but no Ninja Storm I liked

it it was interesting it was cool but there are

so many other ones that I liked better than Ninja

Storm because really honestly like if Blake and

what's his stupid half brother's name The Thunder

Rangers if they had their own series or if they

were with a different team, I probably would

have liked it better I just I don't know. I just

didn't really care that much after a while. Yeah

All right, Scotty number 14 light speed rescue

Again, that doesn't mean that it's terrible.

It just means that I like it the least out of

my favorites because You know 1 through 14 actually

like maybe like 6 through 14 kind of shuffled

last like you know four or five days, so This

is just where it ends today if we did it tomorrow.

It might not be life speed rescue, but I really

did enjoy life speed rescue MMP are the movie

Wow Now don't get me wrong. It's actually a lot

of fun. Yeah, but There are things that are much

better than it that have come before and after.

And even though I like the idea of Ivan Ooze,

he was not used to his full potential at all.

No, he was more a comedic. Exactly. Also, they

gave me the false hope that they were going to

use 3D rendering for the Zords after the movie

in the show. That was dashed. And... That goddamn

kid. I don't even remember his name. Oh, you're

talking about the gold ranger. Fred Campbell

the gold ranger. Gold ranger. Yeah. No, the kid

with the fire hose. Yeah, Fred Campbell. Fred

Campbell the gold ranger. Really? I did not know

that. At the end of the movie, when they're all

partying in Snapp's... whatever the hell the

stupid Snapp song is that's playing... He says

Fred Fred Campbell the silver Ranger no no no

no Fred Campbell the gold Ranger the kid with

the head with the head on backwards Yeah, did

you guys hear about that kid now? He him and

his wife test drove a boat Killed the owners

of the boat took the boat hid the boat and then

the police finally oh no 100 % true story and

They then they took the boat hid the boat the

cops ended up finding out about it, and then

he went to jail Or maybe it wasn't him and his

wife, it was him and he killed a guy and his

wife for the boat. He's really moving up since

Power Rangers the movie. That is 100 % an honest

to God, that's a true story. That's gonna put

Turbo lower on the list, I mean, jeez. Look,

look, the movie drove someone to murder. Someone

who was in it was driven to murder. I mean, that's

pretty bad. Yeah, cuz they suck when it first

came out it was like oh my god one of the Power

Rangers from the movie Killed somebody and I

was like Tommy went crazy Tommy went crazy. He's

gonna kill the whole family and they're like

it's this kid and I was like Well, I don't that's

it. This is none of the Power Rangers at all

That's that little dirty kid with the backwards

at the Gold Ranger Yeah, the other thing that

drove me nuts about that movie that the reason

I didn't put it higher is I actually know someone

who worked on that Yeah, do you hate their guts

then or something? No, no, no, no, no the horror

stories that you would not believe about the

costumes and the makeup and just the Like the

director and the cinematographer were at each

other's throats and the actress who played the

oh I can't remember her name The the lady in

the bikini in the grass ball scene. Yes The actress

who played her, the original outfit was not going

to be a bikini, but she forced them to make it

a bikini. And she wasn't even the original actress

either. It was somebody else and that they did

so terrible that they had to go back in and recast

her. Well, no, no, no, that's not what happened.

What happened was she got, Gabrielle Fitzpatrick,

she got sick. I thought she was terrible. She

got sick. It was a little bit of both. It was

both. Right, she got sick and then she was going

to be replaced by Detective Benson from SVU,

Mariska Hagerty. Oh my god! Yeah, there's video

out there of Mariska doing lines. Hey, I bet

she was just god awful. And they said, hey, your

stomach hurt or anything? Do you feel sick all

of a sudden? No, I feel fine. I think your stomach

hurts. Oh, I get it. See you later. Well, I know

a little bit of Inside Baseball about the movie,

and the costumes particularly were so fragile

that the first person, the first stuntman to

put on, I think it was Red's costume, destroyed

it. Just putting it on. Like, if you go back

and watch the movie and if you ever... do a frame

by frame you can actually see when they're doing

poses like rips in the underarms the one has

this massive rip going from the crotch down to

the knee and they tried to quote -unquote fix

it in post but if you watch it carefully I think

on one of the DVDs either the first or second

release they didn't do it right and it looks

just like this yellow or red line of Photoshop

on the leg for just a split second. My number

14 is Jungle Fury. I like Jungle Fury. It's an

interesting series. It's better than I originally

thought because as I said in the Jungle Fury

episode, when I watched the first two episodes

of the series when it aired, I was like, yeah,

no, I don't care. But when I did go back and

watch it, I did very much enjoy it. But for a

while there, I was like, RJ, just go away. And

then he became the Purple Ranger, and I liked

him. What's your number 13, Scottie? SPD. OK,

then. It was good. It was a good series. But

then they had cars. MMPR Season 3. For 13 really

yeah, oh, that's not that's not too far off For

me light speed rescue Even though even though

I know Joel gets his comeuppance in the very

last episode throughout the entire season I wanted

to just punch that character in the nuts. Oh

my god. I did not like that dude at all Light

speed rescue it's not Don't dislike the series.

I like the storyline with with Captain Mitchell

Dana and Ryan. I like that I think that's great,

but it's there's just so many series that are

better so many seasons that are better than it

All right number 12. What do you got Scotty ninja

storm? I Enjoy again these are all the you know

seasons that I enjoyed they're just kind of shuffled

you know Spada and then here are season two Oh,

wow. There were just several episodes in that

season that I did not like. The funny thing is,

this is our top 20 favorite seasons, and we're

talking about what we don't like. For number

12, I pick SPV. I like SPV. I think it's a great

series. Again, it was a great storyline. You

got the Red Ranger and the Yellow Ranger who...

Everyone else thought they were criminals, but

they were just trying to help the poor. I thought

SPD had some really cool gear. The Zords were

pretty cool, even though they're just cars. Just

some of the Megazord combinations were cool.

So I like SPD. It's very interesting, and I think

it was the first and the last time that we had

a doggy as the master, or whatever it was. Doggy

Krueger. Yeah, it's called Doggy Krueger. That's

the same name as the center. Oh, cool. Number

11, Scotty, what do you got? In Space. Really?

Yep. I was a big fan of In Space, but just everything

up, everything past this is my top ten. Spada?

Wild Force. Okay, explain. Everything? Now, don't

get me wrong, I like Wild Force. I honestly do,

but everything that is everything else on my

list, to me, is just better. There's nothing

wrong with Wild Force, save for a few things

here and there, but Princess Shayla, is that

what you mean? Shayla, yeah. She just kind of

shuffles that whole series down a bit. Yeah,

I definitely agree with that. I like all the

other characters. But there are just some minor

little things about the series that I just don't

care for. But I'm not saying it's a bad series.

I'm just saying that everything else on my list

I'd like more. And you're going to have to live

with it. That's fine, it's your choice. I'm not

debating your choice. Just like you guys won't

be able to debate my number three of why I like

it, but anyway. My number 11 is MMPR Season 3.

The main reason why it comes in just shy of the

top 10... Friggin' Alien Rangers. The Alien Ranger

episodes are terrible, but then we don't even

get the real Power Rangers, we get the little

lame kids. I don't mind them as kids, I thought

it was... No, seriously! Going back and thinking

about it and when I made the list the reason

why it just is shy of the top ten is Because

of the actual people that are the alien Rangers

I don't I like seeing all the Rangers as kids

I like seeing bulk and skull as nine and ten

year olds or whoever hella hell their old They're

all old supposed to be or whatever But it's just

those stupid alien Rangers just piss me off and

they're not even alien Rangers all the suits

are from Kaku Ranger Stop! They're ninjas, they're

not aliens! And now we're into the top ten. So

Scotty, what is your number ten? Um, MMPR Season

3. So we're pretty close, we're pretty close.

Spada? Zeo. Really? Yes. Hmm, interesting. I

like Zeo, I think it's fun. The Zeo Megazord

is probably one of, if not my all -time favorite

Megazords. Oh yeah, it's amazing. It's amazing.

It has the stupidest upgrade on the planet where

it gets a pair of cannons from a thing. Anyway,

um, but it's a good show. I just think it's a

little weak on characters. But it's a lot better

than everything else I've already mentioned.

Scotty, what? What'd he ask you? Alright, mine.

Operation Overdrive. A little low. That's your

choice. That's what I meant. No, it comes in

at number 10 because I like the suits. I like

the Zords. I think those are cool. And it has

the... Even though I can't stand one of the returning

characters it has the 15th anniversary of of

team ups with Adam and That jackass Xander and

everybody else. I don't know why you hate Xander

so much. It's just he is Person out just pisses

me off. I don't know. It's just hi my name's

Xander Yeah ever worked and that's what that's

what was amazing about it But like I said before

I liked operation overdrive partly because of

the mystery behind it of ooh because you see

all the stuff in the in the season about Well,

we can't tell them the truth. We can't do this

and then and then you get to making what the

hell is going on with Mac his dad and the butler

and Then of course we find out it's a robot and

I and I think that's that's interesting that

that was That scared me that sounded like it

was going places. It shouldn't shut up You perverted

a little bit. All right, Scotty. What's your

number nine Zio? Big fan of zeo. I just gonna

um, I mean the same thing. We've been saying

the whole time now I just like other stuff better

than zeo All right, Spada, what's your number

nine lost galaxy? Pretty good you coffee cat

You copycat now I'll probably put a I'll probably

put a disclaimer at the beginning of the episode

that None of us have seen each other's lists.

No y 'all made our lists individually None of

us have seen our lists and it was bound to happen

eventually that one of us would Would have the

same thing at the same number and I'm sure we're

gonna have another one, too If I'm thinking what

everybody else is thinking Let's hope After all,

we all know we're all fanboys of that. Anyway.

Spade is the only one that's going to throw a

wrench in that socket. Probably. Just to screw

with us, he probably will. But no, go ahead.

Let me do quick thoughts on Lost Galaxy. It's

a good show. It's fun. It had a lot of good characters.

The fact that they killed off a ranger and then

brought her back at the very, very end. was a

little weird and then you found out what actually

happened to her and you're like oh shit um it

was it was a good series it had general peril

and it was one of the first i thought was lost

galaxy the first of uh the disney or i'm sorry

the no no i'm getting getting my timing mixed

up here but it was it was just a genuinely good

show And that's also what my number nine is,

is Lost Galaxy. I love the fact that they start

out with, oh hey, Mike's gonna be the Red Ranger,

and then you got Leo, who is basically the rebel

of the group, I guess you could say. And of course,

Mike needs to obviously pass on him, I like that.

I like the Magnet Defender. I think that's really

cool. I mean, any guy that looks like a knight

and has a gun sword, that's awesome. And his

story was good? His story was good. The only

thing I have a problem with his story is they

kept repeating it on an endless loop. It's like...

Oh, they did that in the Sentai. I saw it. I

saw it. Oh my... Yeah. Actually, they did it

more in the Sentai. It was worse. Really? Yeah.

Uh, alright. Scotty, you're number eight. Um,

Wild Force. From here on out... I love every

one of these series. So it definitely gets tough.

Maybe like one and two and three are pretty much

sealed. But four, five, six, seven, eight were

very, very, very tough for me. But the next one

is going to be Wild Force. I'm a big fan of Wild

Force. I really am. The Zords. Some of the actors

were god -awful, like Danny and what's his best

buddy's name? Danny and Max. Like, I could've

done without their bromance, and I could've done

without the stupid music when Danny was our,

uh... Yeah, Danny was talking to the flowers

chick, but, I mean, overall, I mean, it was a

good series to me. Yeah. Alright, Spada, what

about you for number eight? SPD. Hmm, that's

interesting. I liked SPD. There were a couple

of things that I didn't even care for, but overall,

I liked it. And this was odd, this is really

weird, but I thought the execution of Doggy Krueger

in SPD was much better than he was in Decker

Ranger. Because in Decker Ranger, you ever see

that mask that's just a horse head? Imagine that

as a blue dog. Also they changed the costume

up for the American version. Oh, the costume

is completely different. It's and it's animatronic.

The original Japanese version was not animatronic

at all. Oh, yeah, it just had a mouth that kind

of moved just a little bit Yeah, I think I mean

now that I think about it maybe SPD was a little

low on my list because I do remember like loving

when when Dargah Krueger first got his powers

and the countdown that they did and everything

but Too late now, yep. Alright, for me number

eight is In Space. In Space was the first series,

first season, that told a continuous continuity

based story from beginning to end with Andros

searching for his sister and all of that. I love

In Space. I think In Space is great. And as much

as I... Didn't really care for him in turbo.

I don't mind TJ becoming the new Blue Ranger

in space Because I do like TJ as a character

I think he is a I think he does have a really

cool character and I like the fact that they

can basically that that that that Selwyn Ward

was actually able to step down from the quote

-unquote leadership role to just do a Not necessarily

a side character role, but something else. So

I like that Scotty number seven Um, Lost Galaxy.

Big fan of Lost Galaxy. Just the next couple.

I just like more. All right, it's beta. MMPR

Season 1. Ah, see? That didn't screw up my...

Don't get me wrong. MMPR Season 1 is still fantastic.

They're just, you know... There are story elements

that are done so much better in mine next six

and It all just came down to the story elements

Yeah for me Mike Zio I Like Zio Zio is great.

It continues the story it you know, we've got

the blown up command center at first and We've

got the hunt for the zeo crystal and we've got

the strange time travel stuff with tanya and

and um, what was the other oh? Aisha and tanya

and all that. I really did enjoy that even though

it's not really explained that well Um, I like

the powers. I like the outfits I like the zords.

I think they're great. So yeah zeo. All right

scotty number six dino thunder Well There goes

the neighborhood ladies and gentlemen, yeah Wow,

I know Thunder at six Monster I Got enough of

Tommy in season one and season two and season

three and Zeo I mean don't get me wrong. I absolutely

love Dino Thunder Absolutely. Love it, but it's

still not as good as my next five to me. Anyway,

okay number six Ninja storm Really? Yes, I loved

ninja storm. I really liked it and the reason

is well one of the big reasons was cam I loved

cam That's cuz you're a techie. Well, yes, but

I also loved the Zords and Trust me when I say

that the adaption the adaption from the Asian

version of Abba ranger is so far removed from

what Abba ranger was Even though there are some

similar story elements. There are things that

I loved and the villain I loved the villain venagog

Yeah, I loved that villain. I thought he was

a great villain and I loved I liked Trent I liked

the idea that he was sort of kind of evil, but

not really but he was wait trent what that's

trends from dino thunder oh wait i'm getting

them mixed up aren't i you're talking about yeah

the um not trent um the brothers yeah i'm getting

dino thunder and ninja storm mixed up i'm sorry

so dino thunder is your six also no six is still

ninja storm okay okay and i just completely my

brain just completely went Anyway, we can edit

that out Hmm No Seriously though. I did like

ninja storm. I liked this. I like the Zords.

I loved cam I actually liked the brothers Even

though I can't tell them apart from anything

that happened to Dino Thunder Lothar he was actually

pretty good in in through most of the series.

No, he wasn't. At the ending, he got he actually

got really kind of vicious. Yeah, at the end,

I will agree with you that he did get kind of

vicious. But for the majority of that season,

that he was basically a comedic villain and you

should not have. Absolutely. Yeah, it was an

island news. We commented on that when we did

the the episode. Yeah. But for me, it was a fun

show. For me, coming in at number six is MMPR

the movie. Regardless of production inconsistencies

or the fact that the suits broke or whatever

else, I really enjoyed Power Rangers on the big

screen. I thought it was great. I thought the

suits were great like Spada. I was assuming that

when it went to season three that the movie suits

were going to be used. Sadly, I was let down

also. and then season three had that whole that's

why season three was my number 11 because a friggin

ninja or if his voice if his voice wasn't like

that it wouldn't be so bad agreed uh all right

scotty number five uh jungle fury i love love

love love love love love jungle fury the next

the top five were the hardest probably to do

i mean jungle fury had Everything that I would

want and it's seasoned I mean it obviously has

downfalls every single one of these has its It's

stuff if you actually want to stop and pick at

it We could pick every one of these apart, but

we've already done it in the last 21 episodes.

That's why Jungle Fury had you know It was happy.

It was sad. There was intensity. There was you

know genuine moments There was I mean there was

just everything it was just amazing to me. I

absolutely love Jungle Fury number five is space

really i really liked space now obviously it

wasn't perfect but i liked the character of andros

yeah i liked the fact that zordon was missing

i liked the i love tj tj was my favorite character

on the whole show and the psycho rangers Yeah

awesome. Yeah, we need more. We need another

Hey, this is a team of actually all villainous

Rangers Maybe not as overpowered as the psychos.

Yeah, but something similar Mm -hmm. Yeah, the

only downfall to space was that stupid Ninja

Turtles crossover. Oh, I forgot about that most

I don't think most fans don't acknowledge that

that happened. Yeah, but you can't do that. You

have to. I don't care what most fans think didn't

happen. It's part of the season that happened.

You know that? Yeah. Yeah. For me, coming in

at number five is MMPR season one. Well, I love

all of the Tommy centric episodes and we all

know that Scotty and I are Tommy fanboys. It

just, there's four that I enjoy more. Again,

it goes to the point of in 1993, they weren't

outside of the multi -parters. It wasn't a consistent

continuity -based story. And now, being 33 years

old, I love continuity -based stuff. So that's

why season one of MMPR comes in at five for me.

Scotty, what is your number four? Mighty Morphin

Power Rangers season two. Damn it! Stop reading

my mind I was a big fan of season two. I mean,

you know again all the seasons have downfalls,

but they got the new Thunder Zords and and and

They did an amazing job of transferring to new

Rangers like usually like all the other seasons

when they transfer Rangers I was like, oh god,

I hate these people but I had like legit feelings

for Rocky Aisha and Adam I mean, I was like,

oh, I really like these guys. I was rooting for

these guys to take over. You know what I mean?

And plus season two also has white light. Exactly.

Because it was such a that two parter was such

a build up. It so was because you've got Billy

looking around in the in the command center and

finding a hidden chamber and how how that first

part ends with with his face in the great and

just like what the and that was so cool. All

right, Spada, what do you got for number four?

Dino Thunder. You bastard. What do you have,

Mike? For number four, I also have MMPR season

two. So, you know, as you said, Scotty, I was

rooting for and I liked Rocky, Adam and Aisha

and the whole thing with Tommy coming back. I

like that as well. Scotty, number three. Well,

just before that. For my reasons of liking Dino

Thunder see about five and a half minutes ago

Number three Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the

movie I see yeah, I seen this movie probably

Three four times in the theater bought it on

VHS instantly. I want it on DVD. My kids love

it I can watch it right now without Without batting

my eyes without turning my head. I just I absolutely

loved everything about that movie It was it was

it was a change of pace from the episodes So

I'm not as heartbroken as you guys are that Ivan

news had some comedy I don't mind a funny villain

here and there now if they did seasons 1 through

20 with all idiot villains And they were all

funny then it was it would have been it'd be

stupid, but I still enjoy the movie to this day

You know what I mean? So it's like it's like

a change of pace for me. The one thing about

Ivan is that even though I think he was an interesting

villain was he actually was dangerous. Exactly.

And he showed up and pretty much just kicked

Rita and Zed in the you know what's and but the

problem was he wasn't used effectively. He was

there and then gone. And he's never been spoken

about again. Well, that's how most of your villains

are that's how most of your movie villains are,

you know, they're they're they're they're gone

That's how I mean, that's how it that's how it

works So, I mean he might cut he might crack

jokes, but he walked in he like you said got

rid of lord Lord said and Rita Walked into the

command center that no one's ever done destroy

them at command center got rid of zordon So because

he cracks jokes, he can't be a good villain.

I mean, it don't really work that way That's

why they're my number three All right, so Number

three for me the only reason why it got this

high is because They finally did something right

with a story of world domination RPM The world

was already taken over The world was already

destroyed. It was already taken over. I Like

that aspect of the storyline. I like Dylan's

character. I like the whole thing of his sister

being the bad girl And you could see the the

romance between him and summer just a mile away.

I Loved RP. I was the worst romance of all time

The most they ever did was was like what they

weren't even on a base yet They showed up to

the park like what they do hold hands Well, yeah,

but it's Power Rangers. Are you expecting softcore

porn? Yeah, actually Yeah, Tommy and Kimberly

kissed like if I have a kiss. I don't believe

it until their kiss Did we skip me for number

three? Are we on number three or are we on number

four? Yeah, we're on number three. You skipped

right over me. Light speed rescue. Okay. Loved

it. I think there was very little in there that

I didn't like. I liked all the Rangers. I liked

the fact that they added a Ranger. Actually liked

the Titanium Ranger and the villains were competent

except for her. Vipra. Yeah. Worst actress in

Power Rangers ever. Jennifer Elien. Actually,

I think I've seen, I think there, well, I think

there are porn actresses that are better than

her. Wow. That's pretty bad. All right, Scotty,

number two. um time force time force if it wasn't

for power rangers season one so we obviously

know what my number one is um i probably put

power rangers at one because i nostalgia it was

the first i can i can remember like running home

to watch it And I didn't run home to watch any

of these other ones. I watched Time Force as

an adult, where it's a little bit more of a story,

a little bit more character development and stuff

like that. So Time Force is my number two because,

well, it's absolutely amazing. Spada? RPM. Wow.

Scotty's just like, what the hell is wrong with

you guys? They took it from 50 episodes down

to 30. That forced them to that forced them to

speed up a couple of things. I love, love the

G12 formation. That is the, I can't remember

what it's called on Power Rangers, but when all

the Zords merge together, that is absolutely

insane. I just really enjoyed this show. I liked

all the characters. I think the only thing I

didn't like about the show were the twins as

the golden silver ranger. I like the fact that

there were a Golden Silver Ranger, but I don't

agree with you. Twins sucked. I think the twins

were... I don't think they were portrayed correctly.

I just thought they were annoying when in the

Japanese version, they were brother and sister,

but they weren't twins. I don't think they were

twins, but they were just portrayed much, much

better. Or the actors were better. But, don't

get me wrong, there are problems with that show.

Yeah, one of them you don't have to defend yourself,

but I just I really liked the show. Yeah Did

you mean Mike talked about it when we did rpm

the the episode Did you see when they were I

think was a flashback and they were talking about

walking around? Like gathering money for protection

or whatever they walked out of like the pizza

place from jungle fury. Yeah No, yeah, yeah,

they walked out of jungle karma. Yeah Yeah, you

have to catch it like it's the sign on this I

think I see a sign on the sidewalk and then the

signs above the door It's like, you know, you

know, you know, whatever whatever karma pizza

a bubble blind It's the same exact symbol and

everything. I didn't know that. Yeah, that's

funny The other thing I really liked about about

rpm was they did the entire episode of behind

the scenes But they did it 100 % tongue -in -cheek

They knew what they were doing. They knew they

were making fun of themselves. And it was just

a lot of fun. Yeah. Is that when he was talking

about why everything blows up behind him? Yes.

Yeah, that was a good episode. Why does everything

blow up behind us? Because reasons. Yeah. And

then and then he morphed facing them and they're

like, what's he doing? And it blew up all the

bad guys behind them. Yeah. And then and then

what is in there when the Green Ranger morphed

for the first time? That's not spandex. Yeah.

What do you got Mike? For number two is Time

Force. Time Force was so well written. It was

so well acted. The fact that we pretty much,

until Wes takes over, we pretty much have a female

lead ranger with Jen. I like the Time Force Shadow

Megazord. I love that. I just enjoyed it so much.

It was so good. I agree. All right, so let's

Let's be prepared for how different all of our

number ones probably already know both of your

number ones now because I've been marking Well,

it's kind of obvious if you've been keeping track

But for those that might not be keeping track

that are listening to the show Scotty, what is

your number one favorite Power Rangers series?

That's always the same. I was the worst it's

obviously Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season

one just because I can I can remember back Having

my buddy might you know one of my buddies over

just just like glued in every single day You

know waiting for it to you know I gotta watch

the rest of this episode before I go to school

because at first it was on the mornings Right.

So so, you know, I had a hurry watches Power

Rangers episode before I had a rush to the bus

stop before I missed the bus and it was just

It was just so much to it with the Tommy and

it was just it was just absolutely amazing. It

was just like mind -blowing You know for for

a 13 year old and it was just I was I was absolutely

in love with it You know, I had a crush on Kimberly,

you know, Jason and Tommy, you know, they were

battling for the leader It was just there was

just so much to it. That was amazing and it was

the first of its kind You know, I hadn't seen

nothing like that Yeah. All right, Spada. What's

your number one? Time Force. Atta boy. Time Force.

God, that season was so good. Like you said,

we had a female leader in the beginning, and

they just, they nailed the show. All of the actors

were really well done. The guy who played Wes

was fantastic. Jason Fong, yeah. The actress

who played Jen was great. The actor who played

Rancic was really good. Vernon Wells, I believe.

And you saw his daughter, actually, in the beginning,

she's super evil, super mean, hates everything.

And she actually has an arc. Rancic has an arc.

though very short. He does have an arc, and the

reason he stops doing what he's doing is for

his daughter, because he almost kills her. Wes's

descendant coming in, the Quantum Ranger, the

idea of the Quantum Ranger, the idea of the Silver

Guardians, Just it was a whole package and I

hate this is funny to admit but I But by the

time time force aired I had kind of given up

on Power Rangers a Little bit. I still loved

the toys. I was still buying toys But I wasn't

really watching the show I would tape an episode

here or there, I wouldn't really pay attention

to it. And then all of a sudden you had this

show where people from the future come back to

the past and then all of a sudden they get this

base that's in a clock tower and they have to

make money and try to adapt at the same time

fighting off mutants from the future. The whole

time I was re -watching Time Force when we did

the episode forward in the podcast here, I was

waiting for lightning to strike the clock tower.

I think it does in a couple of scenes. 1 .21

GW, that can't be done! It was a good show, and

it was one of those... The end game was just

mind -blowing. It was. I cannot remember characters'

names tonight. the robot frax frax yep the whole

thing with frax and he's like you see him in

the beginning and then you watch him go insane

more and more insane throughout the series and

just it was and it didn't end all that happily

let's face it it ended things were solved but

It wasn't a completely happy ending, which I

really respected. And the Megazord itself, it

had two different robot modes and it had a combined

flight mode. It was one of my, it is probably

my second favorite Megazord from Power Rangers

next to the Zeo Zord. Just the series as a whole

was a complete package of goodness. Okay, my

fanboy -ism aside, my number one is Dino Thunder.

Shut the hell up. The reason why Dino Thunder

is my number one is several things. Number one,

by far the most sinister and badass villain in

any U .S. Power Rangers series in Mezagote. That

guy scared the living crap out of me. Yeah. That

Duke was badass Number two. Yes, Tommy returns.

He's an adult. That's great Number three the

storytelling the storytelling even though there

were a few episodes here and there that I didn't

really care for the overall story of the three

Rangers I Liked I liked how different they all

were from each other. I like the fact that in

the end everything turned out okay and they were

all gonna go on to do other stuff and i i thought

that was really great um i love the even though

they kind of goofed up on the green ranger costume

i don't know how the hell they got that goof

up but seeing tommy basically fight his own demons

and basically go back into his past. I liked

that. Dino Thunder is by far, it's the one Power

Rangers series that I've watched three times

in the last two years. Yeah, I'm not trying to

make, I don't want you to find an excuse because

- Oh, I'm not. I'm not at all. Dino Thunder was

amazing. It was my number six, which isn't too

terrible, but I found nothing matter with Dino

Thunder. I just like these other ones just a

little bit more. Right and that's fine for me

if I can go back and I can watch something three

times in two years because I watched I watched

through Dino Thunder when it first hit Netflix

before we even recorded the episode To do it

and then I watched it again in preparation for

the episode and I watched it again after we after

we had the episode out so if I can watch something

three times just out of sheer enjoyment not just

because oh hey, it's Tommy as an adult the It

had all great characters. Like I said, the villain

was great There's a few cheesy things in there

like the episode where they're making fun of

the Japanese version or not understanding What

I love that episode. That's a great episode.

I love it. It was funny So yeah. All right. We

are that's that's the countdown and up next you're

gonna hear two ads, and then you're gonna hear

Spada's top 10 favorite Sentai series, and we'll

come back to close the show after this. Yes.

Thank you, Rangers. You've done a great service

to the entire universe. Don't mention it, bro.

I guess it's time to say goodbye again. May the

power protect you all. So instead of getting

a clip right now We are having it live in person

Spada the Sentai guy with his top ten favorite

Sentai series take it away This is Spada the

Sentai guy with your top ten or I should say

my top ten favorite Sentai series number ten

bioman airing in 1984 I like this series a lot

because it has the bio robo which was one of

the first combining robots and just The whole

series is just kind of crazy. They talk about

infections and just all these crazy paleolithic

ideas and just a lot of fun. The show's really

cool. But it's funny because at the very end

of the series, it's a supercomputer that they

have to fight. You know, for the early 80s, that

was pretty cool. Number 9 is Mega Ranger. Now

Mega Ranger was turned into Power Rangers in

space. Now Mega Ranger is more of cyberspace

and alternate dimensions than anything else.

I think the reason I like Mega Rangers so much

is just because you have a bunch of high schoolers

who are actually really smart fumble into becoming

rangers and have to defend the entirety of the

planet against a cyberspace hyperdimensional

being It's a lot of fun. It's very cool and plus

um Yeah, the costumes for the villains are just

really awesome number eight true ranger the thing

that started power rangers off altogether And

the reason true ranger is ranking so low on my

list Is well to be honest By the end of the series,

you really hate children. I mean, come on. How

do two small children manage to wander away from

a tour and end up in the space shuttle in the

third episode? But overall, it was a good show.

It was interesting. The characters were fun.

And Bandora, the Queen Witch Bandora, whose Rita

Rapelsa is based off of, is pretty cool. Number

number, uh, what was that? That was eight number

seven time ranger time ranger I saw well after

I saw a time force and I liked the ideas in time

ranger just as much as I like the ideas in time

force the only reason it's so low on the list

is There were a few characters that I didn't

care for and the the character of circuit the

owl was really annoying in time ranger But otherwise,

it was a good show. Oh, and remember that lumpy

frog mutant guy from Time Force? Yeah, that was

the main villain. Think about that for a little

bit. Number six is Live Man. Now, Live Man is

from a long time ago, probably before most of

you were born. Not as far back as Bioman, but

it was from a 1980, no, 1988, sorry. Live Man

is just... Cool. You've got, you know, one of

those super secret organizations. But the thing

that I love is just craziness. The thing I love

about Live Man are the villains. The villains

are super interesting. And the Mecha. The Mecha

is animal based. You start off with three Rangers

and then you pick up two more and there then

you have two robots and then both robots merge

into probably one of the largest Super Sentai

toys out there. It's just a very, very cool series

and just a lot of fun. Really dig it. Number

five is Dairanger. Now Dairanger would be what

would is technically season two of Mighty Morphin

Power Rangers, though the whole thing is based

on the on Chinese like Daoist fighters. And man,

let me tell you, if you have not seen Die Ranger,

you are missing out. The costumes are freaking

awesome. All of the characters are in each of

their own way, complete badasses. And their master,

who the name completely escapes me right now,

is very cool. The only reason it's as low on

my list as it is is because of the White Ranger.

The White Ranger is actually a child. Yeah, I

don't really care for that, but he's not bad.

The actor who plays him is not bad. The kid can

actually act a bit. So, Die Ranger is very cool.

You should check it out. Number four is Jetman.

Jetman has to be one of, if not the darkest,

Super Sentais I have ever seen. I mean, you're

talking about just super, super dark themes of

murder, death, patricide. One of the main characters,

his wife is kidnapped and then completely corrupted

and he has to kill her. It's really kind of crazy,

really dark, not... really pleasant to watch

at times because of how violent it is. I mean,

that and Die Ranger were both very, very violent.

I mean, they had actual, like, blood trickling

and splattering in places. And a lot of people

died in Jetman. I mean, a lot of people died.

But still totally worth watching. Number three,

Hurricanger. I just liked Hurricanger. Crazy

ninja fun. a lot of fun, just bonkers, so much

better than what we got in Ninja Storm, the villain

specifically. Though the villain is a giant centipede

-like thing that doesn't move until the quarter

to the end of the series. Still, there's some

comedy in there, but it's actually pretty serious.

Plus, it made the first male Yellow Ranger here

in the U .S. So that was a big plus in my book.

Number two Gekiranger. Gekiranger is what was

turned into Jungle Fury. Gekiranger was quite

honestly one of the best Power Rangers series

I have ever seen and you wouldn't just looking

at it you wouldn't guess why I mean you've got

the the Red Ranger was raised by wild animals

and has his own weird little language the Yellow

Ranger She doesn't really have much of a personality

at the beginning and the Blue Ranger is just

what is known in the fandom as a cool blue very

students astute and serious but things start

to unravel a little bit and the the heroes start

to gain personalities that are actually really

endearing and the villains while they the main

villains kind of change a little bit. You have

two villains that are from the very first episode

to the very last episode and are super important

to the entire plot of the series. And they're

well acted. Very well acted. Say what you will

about the designs of the Zords and whatnot. The

characters in Gekiranger made the show for me

and finally my time Before you get before you

get going was did in Gekiranger. Did they do

the same like? Styles doors as we did here. Yes

I love that that style. Was there a lot of complaints

in the Japanese version of the toys the toys?

specifically the toys because of the gimmick

that was in the the primary Megazord with the

spinning yes, those really didn't like that and

the the batteries had a tendency to acidify and

Corrode really quickly because of some poor electronics.

I got you. So also go ahead I was going to say,

before you do your number one, I'm sure it's

not going to be Gokaijer, but I'm just going

to be really upset if it's not. I'm just letting

you know. Gokaijer? Yeah, I'm just letting you

know. Gokaijer is not on the list of top 10.

Gokaijer would be on the list of top 15. I'm

upset now, Spada. That's nice. I don't know if

I'm going to be able to sleep tonight. Well,

there are for sure. You're still not going to

let him go already. My number one favorite. the

very first Sentai I ever saw from beginning to

end and that is Magi Ranger. Magi Ranger had

just this overall feeling of family that I could

not like just overwhelmingly was the show was

about family the show was about the power of

family and the show was about how families are

integral to being able to overcome situations.

Is that Mystic Force? Yes, that is Mystic Force.

Maji Gold, Maji Shine, who is the gold Maji Ranger.

I can't remember what his name is in the US version.

He, he made the show. He was probably the. He

was the Don Juan of Power Rangers, but in a way

you could get behind. He was suave, yet strict.

He was fair, yet flexible at times. He was so

awesome. What character did he get turned into

in Mystic Force? I'm sorry? What character did

he get turned into in Mystic Force? Whoever the

Gold Ranger was. Oh, okay. What's his name's

dad? Okay, yeah, okay. What the heck's his name?

I can't think of his name. Yeah, I know you're

talking about the character of Wolzard was Let

me just say the character of Wolzard. It was

pretty much I pretty much guessed who he really

was like the fifth episode in He was the he's

their dad But corrupted the idea that the world

just underneath the surface world has all this

life and the reason that they're trying to take

over is because they just want to get out of

the caves is interesting. It's just a good all

around show. Plus, it has one of the most, or

one of the most famous actresses playing, I can't

remember the character's name now, Crip. Whoever

the high magic, Person was she was actually the

same actress that played Rita repulsa. Oh Barbara

goodson, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, you're

talking about the door Yes, okay Just she played

a very she was only in there a little bit. But

overall the show is by far my favorite super

sentai Guys, you really need to go out and track

these down. There are live torrents TV Nihon

has done a lot of subbing, but be very careful

because a lot of their subbing isn't very good

by today's standards, but some of these older

shows, groups aren't re -subbing. So that's really

your only choice. So go back and watch them,

try and download them. They're a lot of fun,

especially MajoRanger, GekiRanger, and Huracanjer.

You really need to watch those three. They are

just awesome. So I am Spade of the Sentai guy.

I'm done now? Yes, you are done. Spade of the

Sentai guy. This is 80s action sensation Arnold

So we are back, and I have to share this because

it's something I've addressed before, but I want

to be able to give this fan his voice on the

show here. Patrick Maguire has been a fan of

us since the beginning here on From the Command

Center. And I just want everyone to remember

when Scotty and I first started this show. Our

main goal was to talk about the American versions.

We were going to initially ignore the Sentai

altogether, and then I was like, ooh, Spada likes

Sentai. I know Spada. I could have him do all

that work. And that's what we did. So Patrick

posted on the Geekcast Radio Network's Facebook

page. He says that, and this is a while ago,

he says, I just started from the Command Center

RPM episode and I had to pause and give a comment.

I'm upset to hear about the commentaries. I thought

after RPM you would do the other related shows

like Masked Rider, Common Rider, Dragon Knight,

VR Troopers, Mystic Knights, Superhuman Samurai.

I don't think you can do Tattoo Teeny Jalien

Fighters from Beverly Hills. I mentioned this

to you once and you said to me, just wait. Well,

the thing is, when I told him to just wait, we're

all about Power Rangers here from the Command

Center. The only one of those series that he

lists off, VR Troopers, is the only one I've

seen a couple episodes from. I personally have

no interest in the others. Now, if someone else

wants to start a podcast about those other series,

that's fine, but this is all about Power Rangers.

And as I said in the beginning of this episode,

the reason why Scotty and I and Spada, depending

on what episode Spada would like to do commentaries

on, it's up to him. Scotty and I wanted to do

commentaries because we're celebrating 20 years

of the original Power Rangers franchise here

in the U .S. Again, as I said at the beginning

of the episode, we're going to have two episodes.

One next time will be best and worst Power Rangers

theme songs. and episode 24 will be merchandising.

So anything, and Spada and Scotty are just gonna

go nuts talking about toys and art games. Yeah,

all that stuff. So you'll have at least two more

episodes of the podcast before we start the commentaries.

The commentaries are pretty much, I've pretty

much made a list almost all the way through,

I think. lost I've made a giant list of all the

episodes that I would like to do commentaries

or episodes that I think we need to do commentaries

on and I will send it to Scotty and Spada in

an email later but I'm sorry Mr. Patrick McGuire

that you don't like the direction of the show

is going in but that's what we want to do and

I only do podcast stuff that I want to talk about.

Too selfish. Yes, I know. Thank you for joining

us here on From the Command Center. There are

several ways to get in contact with us or leave

feedback for the show. Visit the network websites

geekcastradio .com and popculturenetwork .com

Join the forums over at popculturenetwork. You

can go to jointheforums .com or popculturenetwork

.com Leave the show's feedback in iTunes. We

have a couple of new iTunes reviews One of the

friends over at Toy World Order, Edas Baron,

he writes, As a Synthi fan, I look forward to

the time dedicated to that. I have to say this

has become my favorite GCRN show. Keep up the

great work, guys. And then T. Geisen wrote a

review. All I can say about the Asian Pink Ranger

is, as far as I can tell, it has to do with the

Trini original Yellow Ranger. It was that they

didn't want to appear racist, so any Asian actor

who gets cast as a Ranger will not get cast as

the Yellow Ranger. Remember, it's only racist

if the spandex matches your skin. Uh, so that's

the iTunes reviews. Uh, you can follow us on

Twitter. I'm at TF2 and Mike. Spada, what is

your Twitter name? You can find me at BALTMatrix.

Alright. Become a fan on Facebook. Go to Facebook

word. Yeah, and you can also find Pop Culture

Network over there as well. You can find the

award -winning From the Command Center video

stuff over there. Yep, and in a few days the

Kyoryuger toys will be going up. I just need

to finish editing. Cool. Call the waste mail

line, tell us your show you're leaving the message

for, and your name, 502 -526 -5821. We hope you

enjoyed this episode of From the Command Center

and wish you would join us next time when we

will be counting down the best and worst Power

Rangers theme songs. For now, I am TF2 on Mike
