About this Episode

An in-depth look at the Power Rangers: Dino Thunder season, exploring the standout storytelling, Jason David Frank’s return as a mentor, and the dynamic cast of Rangers. The discussion covers the compelling villain Mesogog, the unique Zord designs and combinations, the memorable team-ups, and the series' catchy theme song. The hosts also share their thoughts on the show's overall production, CGI usage, and video game adaptations.

Hello everyone, this is Jason David Frank, and

you are listening from the Command Center, Geekcast

Radio Network. Hey, my name is Tyler. This is

for From the Command Center with Scottie Cash

and TFG1 Mike. How you guys doing? Alright, so

just to get this out and over with, I left a

message last week, or last episode, about what

if they, not a reboot per se, but if they made

a series. a serious series about Power Rangers.

Actually, what I've been thinking of, I don't

know if you guys were thinking about it, because

I know, Mike, you thought I was talking about

bringing back the original cast, and that's what

Jason David Franks said, but I was really talking

about, for me personally, I didn't really mention

it in the voicemail, so what I was talking about,

though, was... Was more like what I thought about

it kind of more like a military kind of like

light speed But make it serious because I really

think light speed if done right and casted right

and I'm really thinking this cast It was it was

actually pretty good. Um But if we had more serious

actors, I mean the lights we could have been

a really good series show But like speed is what

it is. Um, anyways, just saying that's who I

was I left that message Moving on to this week,

it's all about Go, Hager, my question, because

20th anniversary is coming up. After the fall,

hopefully, as long as Nickelodeon and Saban get

their crap together, I'm good, alright. So, my

thing is, I just want to know what you guys think,

you know, how you guys think the series should

go. I mean, it's the 20th anniversary, of course

they're gonna bring some Rangers back. Throughout

the series, I hope, rather than just having one

reunion episode, I'd like to see Rangers throughout

the series as a different Gokaiger. My next part,

I lost my train of thought. Anyways, characteristics

of the characters. Now, because in Gokaiger,

they're pirates, and really the whole point of

the series is them... uh getting you know the

treasure and yada yada yada and that's what they're

fighting for and in the finale people are like

oh you saved the sentai yeah and they're like

oh word on hero yada yada yada and then really

at the end they they really felt good about themselves

because they did save the earth and um so uh

would you want the and i kind of count this as

a vigilante and i'm probably wrong but to me

it's kind of what a vigilante is they're kind

of really after themselves but at the same time

they They are kind of good, but they're they're

not good Anyways, would you want them to be like

ranger series in the past where where they are

good? They're meant to protect, you know and

serve the earth or do you want them to be like

their Japanese counterpart go kaiger and You

know kind of be you know offer themselves about

the same time they are protecting the earth without

really knowing so Yeah, is that what you would

like to see or would you like to see something

else that I can't even think of at this time

because I'm kind of running on low energy, but

Other than that. Oh, yes, and who would you like

to see? As like a special guest Ranger this series

the 20th anniversary I personally would really

like to see how to say John come back for an

episode and if I couldn't get him I would like

to see the guy who played Joel Joel Rowling,

off of, uh, um... Light Speed Rescue, there we

go. I'd really like to see him on there. So,

anyways, that's all I'd like to see. Tell me

what your thoughts are. And, uh, that's pretty

much it. So, thank you, Tyler. We are so... I

am completely sorry that I did not... put your

voicemail into the Ninja Storm episode. I completely

forgot to eat. We were supposed to respond to

it then, but uh... Just for me personally when

you're when you say about you know when you were

clarifying your point about the About your first

voicemail about what kind of series like the

serious series not so much the returning cast

members There have been a number of serious Power

Rangers series you you mentioned light speed

That was a military -based series lost galaxy

was a pretty serious series time force was a

serious series and of course in this episode

later We'll get to probably if a Serious series,

but if and in my opinion, it's probably the best

series outside of Mighty Morphin, which is Dino

Thunder Any thoughts on on his clarification?

Nope. Nope. Nope. You're just rude for relieving

and out. That's all I got to say about that Hey,

you're not the one that runs a podcasting network

of 20 to 30 plus podcasts So I agree we'll give

you some slack slack Now he goes on to say about

Go - he keeps, in the voicemail, he keeps mentioning

Gokaiger. Since his voicemail, they announced

that the 20th is gonna be their adapting Ghostsager,

right? Yeah, which is the worst thing ever. Oh,

really? Well, I don't know. I've never seen Ghostsager,

but everybody stopped watching the show because

it was terrible. And pretty much anything that

wasn't gonna be Gokaiger, awful. Huh. Okay. Well

- According to all the Power Rangers places I

see online everyone's saying You know that they're

gonna be bringing the veterans back or some of

the veterans and whatever else and so I think

that could be kind of cool Like what veterans

what do you mean? Well, I You know, they're gonna

be bringing several veteran Rangers back for

for the American version I guess so they're gonna

do like go card your equals go Sager. I don't

know Not sure all as I know is is that the US

version of go of go Sager is Power Rangers Megaforce,

which is extremely lame because I'm pretty sure

they're like guarding angels or something and

they're guarding angels and we get We get Power

Rangers Megaforce That's not very nice. Well,

okay. Well, I don't know if and and and it's

the 20th next year so what if and I know that

they won't do this, but What if our version was

just, you know, a story about, you know, kind

of like Take Forever Red with 10 veteran Rangers

and make a seasonal story arc that actually has,

you know, interchangeable veteran Rangers throughout

the series. Yeah. That's what I would like to

see with the 20th, whether they do that or not.

I don't know. If it's gonna if it's gonna take

away from go kaiger or if it's gonna if they're

if they're if they're gonna do that instead of

no absolutely not i don't want to see that but

if they're gonna do that as like hey this is

kind of neat we're still gonna do go kaiger cool

because go i mean if even i know you how much

you hate subbed stuff but i i guarantee i would

bet anything i own that if you watch that it

would hook you so fast that you would even realize

what you're doing It's not even about, okay,

it's not about the story that the Sentai tells.

It has nothing to do with that. It has nothing

to do with the acting. It has to do with the

language barrier. Honestly, it does. If Gokaiju

was dubbed in English, I would watch it. But

if it's subbed, I won't. He also goes on to ask

how we think the 20th anniversary should go.

Drop all this samurai bullshit. That's what I

think. Just, it's dead. You know, yeah, I'm not

I'm not I'm not a fan of it. There's definitely

been a lot better Actually, I can't say I'm not

a fan of it. I can just say that there's definitely

been better As far as the 20th anniversary goes

as far as mega force as long I mean if mega force

is going to be oh, hey, we're bringing veteran

Rangers back as long as they bring a lot of the

favorite ones back I'll be happy uh... you know

uh... now he goes on to say and i think this

is because of go kaiger i could be wrong and

and he'll send another voicemail next time and

correct me he says he says would uh... would

we want rangers to be like they were in the past

meaning veterans or do we want them to be vigilantes

and i guess in go kaiger because they're pirates

they're vigilantes uh... not necessarily Okay,

because that's I mean they are obviously vigilantes

but you know through throughout the episode of

go kaiger that you know They they end up caring

more about the planet when they first get there.

They only want They only want the treasure which

ends up being the links Triforce pretty much,

but they don't care about Human beings at all.

They don't hurt them at all. But throughout the

episodes they they end up saving them and realizing

that There's more life than just just the treasure

that these people do matter And you know, I mean,

that's not how many other things are on TV that

are 10 times worse than what they can make Power

Rangers pirates into. You know what I mean? Exactly.

If OK, now addressing his question, at least

for me, would we want the veterans to be like

they were? Yeah, I mean, or do we want them to

be the vigilantes? No, any ranger that has been

in the past. At least here on from the command

center. We're up to Dino Thunder. We're coming

up on SPD You know where any of the ones that

have been on already Previous to Dino Thunder.

Yes, I would want them to have be the same characters

I don't want the characters to change and be

something different. I mean sure you could do

slick Say for example, I know this would never

happen But you know, say for example, Trent dies

and it sends Kira into some, you know, weird

thing. That's fine. But I wouldn't want any of

the previous Rangers character traits to change.

I want them to have character growth, not change.

Right. What about you? That's fine. I don't want

to see him. I don't want to see him. The the

old people on there at all. But I mean, that's

fine. Just as long as what you say is just as

long as they do it that way. Yeah. And his last

point was, what Rangers do we want to see return?

You know, that list is, at least for me, because

I like so many of them, it's so long. I mean,

the obvious ones are like, you know, Jason from

MMPR, Kimberly. Well, the only thing is, when

they return, it's usually one person per team.

Right. So you wouldn't be able to pick Jason,

Tommy, Trini. Zach, Bill, I know obviously Trini

has passed away, but I'm saying you wouldn't

pick five from the same. It would be like you

would pick Billy from blue. And then on the next

one, you know, Zio would be Rocky. You know what

I mean? It's like you don't. They're just running

like like the ones I would like to see return

like like if if they're going to do the American

version of power, if they're going to do Megaforce

as an anniversary season and have all veterans

come back, you know, a team up of maybe say Kimberly,

Kat, Jen, you know, something like that, you

know, that spans the Rangers, you know, something

that spans them all. I wanna see all my favorites

come back, honestly. I mean, that's the easiest

answer. I know that's not gonna happen, but that's

just the easiest answer because we wanna see,

you know, and that's the beauty of what we're

gonna get into later today with Dino Thunder

is that that was the beauty of Dino Thunder was,

holy crap. Tommy's all grown up. You know, that

was the beauty of the series, right? So yeah,

I you know, thank you so much Tyler for the voicemail

Keep sending them in if you want to Tyler I will

ask you to actually speak up in the microphone

because in your latest voicemail It was kind

of like you were in the background. I had to

kind of amplify your voice a bit So you might

want to speak up to the mic more uh... and the

other thing we have to get to before we get into

the episode really quickly uh... we have two

new uh... uh... reviews on itunes uh... they're

both five -star views so thank you very much

uh... one is an update from one that had already

left us a review uh... awesome five -star review

by hai jin i don't know how to say his name jit

left on june seventh uh... you guys are great

look forward to the show every month this podcast

actually got me to start watching power rangers

again and i've seen a couple of episodes of Super

Sentai Manly Go Khajur, thanks to Vault Matrix,

keep up the good work, and can't wait for more

Ninja Storm. And can't wait for Ninja Storm.

Well, you already got Ninja Storm. And he also

asks as a question, I'm looking to do my first

podcast about the Avatar TV series with a friend.

Any words of wisdom about getting started? Get

a decent microphone, make sure you have good

recording software, and make sure you have a

fairly quiet area to record in. Yeah, make sure

you don't live in an apartment and have cars

driving by. Shut up I know buddy Make sure that

whoever your partner is gonna be that you guys

have some kind of chemistry because if you know,

yeah, yeah if you both are Co -hosts then you

know, it's not gonna take off. Yeah. Yeah chemistry

is key and then the other review Which is actually

what spawned us to even do this response before

the Dino Thunder episode? Cash is money TFU and

Mike is meh five -star review by soup nation

kind of hell of a name is soup nation Scotty

cash really makes this show. I love the excellent

thorough coverage of all seasons and there's

a good primer for new fans or old ones who may

have missed a season or ten TFG one comes off

as Debbie Downer is too nitpicky and has extremely

annoying left dude seems really jaded at least

He least he doesn't yawn directly into the microphone

like he did on his TFG one podcast all in all

excellent podcast PS The Ninja Storm Red Ranger

is actually Samoan not black may the power protect

you now Okay professional professional face here

all right first of all Am very passionate about

these and as far as the nitpicking stuff is that's

my my approach to podcasting and when we review

Stuff at the geek cast radio network is that

we do pick it apart there have been times in

in from the command center that I have Complained

about stuff that I just as a 32 year old adult.

I just don't just doesn't make any sense to me

whatsoever As far as the yawning like you you're

gonna bring up something that I started TF2 and

podcast my Transformers generation one review

show was my very first podcast I never done podcasting

before You're gonna throw that in my face compared

to the quality and and and all that stuff that

I've done in the last four years of podcasting

seriously And actually what this review actually

spawned A podcast that's going to be coming two

years from now for the 30th anniversary of transformers

We are going to be doing the TFG to podcast.

We're gonna go back and redo the entire g1 podcast

It's gonna be a different format. We're still

gonna review the same episodes But it'll kind

of be like six years later, and we'll see what

happens. But yeah that that review just kind

of Well, you got to take the good and the bad

though, no, I know and it's a five -star review

and I appreciate Mr. or Mrs. Soup Nation for

leaving that review, but seriously, you're comparing

what I'm doing now to what I did four years ago

and yawning and being raw and just not knowing

what I was doing then. I've learned, I've grown,

everyone that I... A lot of the people, Steve

Megatron, Michael Wilson, Kevin Optimus Solo,

everyone... that has been, you know, with the

GeekCast Radio Network, or has been a fan of

us for the last three, four years, knows how

much all of us have improved since 2007, 2008,

2009. So, yay. Alright, so there you go, that's

the quick feedback, and we are gonna get right

into Dino Thunder. You You So now that the first

part of feedback stuff is over and out of the

way, welcome to a collaboration between the Geekcast

Radio Network and the Pop Culture Network. This

is from the Command Center, the podcast. I am

of course TF2 and Mike and joining me from PCN

is Scotty Cash. Hello, sir. What's up, bud? Not

much. How are you doing? I'm good. I'm always

good. Especially after... That interview. Yeah,

I absolutely agree. Before, after, and during.

No doubt, no doubt. Yeah, I put some stuff on

Facebook about it and I got a bunch of messages

from different people and how jealous they were

and how excited they were. They can't wait to

hear it. And I'm just like, man, this dude is

just, he's a good dude. He's a legit dude. He's

great. It was awesome talking with Jason David

Frank. Originally now you had said in the interview

and people would have already heard this by now

because this is actually the interview is going

up right before this episode as far as the RSS

feed goes so you had said in the interview that

you know when we started the play you know when

I came to you with the idea of the podcast when

you started your video series you know you had

no idea if you'd ever get to talk to any of the

Rangers let alone one of your favorites or your

number one favorite and I just lost my train

of thought. Dang it. You know, it's one of those

things where... Oh, I know what it was. It was

one of those things where when we first started,

when we were back when we were talking about

Mighty Morphin, I wanted to reach out to Jason's

people and see if we could interview him. And

then, it didn't happen, sadly, you know. I mean,

the man is like, you know, runs a million miles

a minute. I mean... The dude's just everywhere.

And I was like, all right, well, might as well

wait until we get to Dino Thunder, because it

wouldn't. That's what I've tried to do with the

interviews that we've gotten is I've catered

them to the seasons that were either coming up

on or that we just did. And that makes more sense

to me than to just have a, you know, of course,

you know, people like Steve Cardenas and Johnny

Young Bosch. I mean, we can't go back and redo

Mighty Morphin. You know, so I mean, that's that,

you know, those are just kind of bonus interviews.

But like when it comes to future seasons, I was

like, OK, well, Dino Thunder Tommy returns. Why

not just wait until then? And that's what we

did. And it was pretty cool talking to him. No

doubt about it. Yeah. we got uh... we get some

feedback from chaotic this is not too too long

so this is his feedback always usually just kinda

rolls off the tongue uh... fun episode guys great

to hear your thoughts on ninja storm it's pretty

interesting season in terms of approach and tone

yet that so -called exclusive and rare red ranger

figure included in the dvd mega set is nothing

more than the power of red ranger figure from

the mpr twenty ten line which we talked about

uh... fortunately for me i never got that figure

so this is a nice bonus Fun fact, there was actually

still some Saban PR veterans on the staff during

the Disney seasons. For example, Douglas Sloan,

writer on MMPR, etc, etc. Let's see, I definitely

think that Wild Force Ninja Storm team up plot

could have worked. Just look at the team up movie

of their Japanese counterparts, Harakandra versus

Gauranger. In that movie, Jindrax and Toxic's

counterparts steal the Gauranger's changers,

and team up with the brother of Jovo's counterpart

and the other Hurricane Ranger villains to pose

as evil Gaorangers. So yeah, I guess that could

have worked, but in the American version, not

so much. Bonus points to Scotty for admitting

that he likes I Love Lothar. That episode is

just so stupid and silly that you can't help

but love it. Exactly. Yeah, though I completely

flubbed on that whole ninja storm being the first

Disney season thing. My bad, though. I suppose

you could call it the first full season Disney

went on with the complete staff and location

change, sort of like the first Disney season

in spirit, even if it isn't technically the first.

That's all I've got for this post. Looking forward

to hearing your thoughts on Dino Thunder. One

of my personal favorite seasons. Keep up the

ninja -tastic work. Thank you to Chaotix. We've

got some other feedback as well, but we're going

to save that for the end of the show. Let's just

jump right into it as far as the overview. Power

Rangers Dino Thunder is the American children's

television series incarnation of the Power Rangers

franchise. As with all Power Rangers series,

it was adapted from a series of the long -running

Japanese Super Sentai franchise. And it, let's

see, it comes from Aba Ranger. uh... currently

twenty three thirty episodes are available on

various lines on dvd in region one uh... and

of course obviously they're on netflix uh...

and the uh... and uh... uh... i don't actually

know what shout factor i know they've gotten

and then pure to lost galaxy i assume brian war

does want to uh... work on more because he has

said so on his twitter uh... We said it features

the notable as it features a return of Jason

David Frank to a starring role So that's that's

all well and good there. What were your like?

Were you still watching Rangers in 2004? I mean

were you still like paying attention to it? No,

it's funny because I had no idea about anything

Power Rangers up to this well at this point and

I was My wife now was my girlfriend at the time

and we just happened to be like laying in bed

or whatever foot from the other channels and

I was like, you know what and I seen Tommy on

Power Rangers and I was like I super don't remember

any of these episodes and then You know, you

know with him little short hair and then it dawned

on me that this is this is obviously current

So then I started watching I didn't follow it

Episode to episode I definitely loved the white

ranger at the time, the costume, everything about

it. I even went out as far as to walk through

the toy aisles and pick up the black talking

ranger and the white talking ranger just to have

them. I caught a couple episodes here and there.

I probably ended up seeing the entire season

on like, what is it? Disney DAG or whatever it

was at the time. Yeah, at the time would play

reruns all the time. So I probably seen 80 %

of the season, probably not in any kind of order

because they would play back to back episodes

every night and probably for a month straight,

I would watch, you know, Dino Thunder. So it

was like I probably seen every episode, just

not in any kind of order or any kind of, you

know, anything like that. But I liked it then.

You know, I watched it probably I Don't know

three or four years ago on YouTube Loved it then

and then watching it again. It's just it's just

a really really good season Yeah, when it aired

I saw it I Saw bits and pieces of it. I I remember

wanting to watch all of it on on TV, but I just

couldn't at the time and When I went back to

it Actually, it was before I found Netflix and

it was before you know the whole Netflix deal

happened and whatever else is going to happen

in the future with shout factories DVD sets,

but I went on Amazon and I looked up all the

volume sets and I was gonna get all the DVD volume

sets because all 38 episodes are like in four

DVD volumes or five DVD volumes in region one

And I was gonna do it that way and then I said

no I don't want to do it that way and then when

we when we finished Zeo Well when we finished

turbo When we finished turbo before we got to

space I actually sat down within I Think it was

from like a Thursday night to a Monday afternoon.

I sat down for an entire weekend I watched all

38 episodes in one weekend. Holy cow Just just

for the fun of it. It wasn't even you know to

prepare for this because at the time we we had

just finished turbo and going into space, but

I just I wanted to watch it again before we really

got to it and And over the last month, of course,

I've watched all 38 episodes And it just it stands

out so much it Even if it I don't think it would

have resonated with us us personally if it wasn't

Tommy but even if it wasn't Tommy and you had

you know someone similar in that mentoring kind

of role I still think the overall story of Dino

Thunder is one of the best if not the best storytelling

based seasons of Power Rangers ever yeah I mean

it was good I mean I can't really say how much

better it could have been or wouldn't have been

or whatever because It did have him in it and

he is amazing and it does help that much more

that he was in it But I will I will agree that

the stories were good There wasn't you know,

I would talk a lot about staying on episodes

There was a few but they were they were good

staying on episodes I didn't I liked all three

of the Rangers are you know, the three, you know

main Rangers, right? Yeah, you know normally

I could do without one or two of the Rangers

or you know Maybe I can maybe not do without

them, but they just don't They don't jump out

at me. They don't affect me and and and they

just all three of the Rangers main Rangers were

really good and then with Trent and Tommy also

I like both of those characters a whole lot.

I like the stories behind them I just you know,

there's not too much stuff. I did not like about

Dino Thunder. Yeah Yeah, and the interesting

thing here is There's only five this time right

I don't know Mean, I don't mind that there's

only five Rangers and of course, you know Trent

was evil in the beginning I mean and even you

know, even though Trent Trent's journey is essentially

You know 1993 Tommy again. I don't mind it here

because the story is well written it makes sense

the dude has Foster father issues or whatever,

you know, I don't mind that because it's even

though it is similar to Tommy's evolution of

being evil and then being good, it's told in

an extremely different way and I absolutely love

that about it. It's not, I mean I'll agree and

I'll also disagree. I mean every single season

has the bad guy that becomes good so technically

I guess there is a sense that It is the 93 Tommy

all over again, but this story was completely,

absolutely different than Tommy's story. So it's

not really like, here we go again. You know what

I mean? No, no, no, no. It wasn't at all. What

I'm saying is like in past seasons, like from,

I don't know, from in space to now, from in space

to Ninja Storm. Yes, there have been those, you

know, those evil ones that have turned good.

And that's essentially, and I've complained about

this before, I was like, oh, they're pulling

another Tommy story, you know? Right. But here,

I don't know what it is about it. I think it's

just a way that the story is executed that I

don't mind that it is the plot line of, oh, he's

evil now. I don't mind that at all because it

really brings out the character of Trent. essentially

puts a twist on the whole story because instead

of him himself wanting to be evil or being turned

evil the Dino Gem is what was actually the evil

it wasn't you know it wasn't like you know Rita

stuck out her wand or anything like that it wasn't

that Mesogog even knew about him at the time

it was the Dino Gem that did it and essentially

he had a multiple personality and that that is

what makes the story so much so interesting as

far as that goes I guess we should get right

into the characters we've got the main three

Connor McKnight who is the red dino ranger played

by James Napier he is the jock of the bunch a

soccer player You have which I thought was hysterical

because and and please don't no good any soccer

people mad at me for this but Where I come from

a soccer player is far from a jock that would

be like saying a golfer is a jock and that just

isn't Because they're always like oh the big

dumb jock when usually that's it's you know Football

or a big basketball star or maybe maybe even

kind of sometimes a baseball star Baseball stars

are jocks. You are not you're not even gonna

are don't even attend. I don't know that with

me big big giant jocks Fine baseball players

are usually just dickheads. That's not really

doesn't really make them a jock That's only if

they come from New York and they wear the number

two Yeah, I guess but any what? Anyway, I didn't

like how that's I mean, I guess I didn't not

like it but I'm just saying it was kind of always

weird that they were like Oh the big dumb jock

and they always refer to him as like Mr.. Cool,

and it's like and he plays soccer and I'm just

like up not not not really believable, but okay

And you've got You've got Ethan James as the

blue Dino Ranger a computer expert and one of

dr. Oliver's students The power that that Connor

acquires Let's see here where Leroy sometimes

gets proud about Tommy where he later gains the

powers of the Triassic Ranger later on. Super

Speed is his Dino Gem power, and Ethan's power

is Dino Skin, which gives him invulnerability

and appearance of super strength. And does he

look like it was only ever on his arms? It was.

Okay. Let's see, did we ever see that anywhere

else? No. I can't really remember. No. And Ethan

was portrayed by Kevin... Don't hit do Hanny

or Don Hanny. I don't know. I like Ethan. I think

this is something that Again brings it back around

to Mighty Morphin because you know Billy was

kind of the geek of the bunch But Ethan more

so is like he's more so into video games where

Billy was more so an inventor a young inventor

And then as he grew up he became an adult inventor

So, I don't know, I really enjoyed Ethan. What

about you? Yeah, I mean, again, I didn't have

any problems with any of the Rangers whatsoever.

And in fact, you know, I liked all the Rangers

and all of their powers and their different stories

and how three different stories, three different

people became a team, you know, because he wasn't

anything like, you know, I guess in theory jocks

and nerds are the complete opposites. They're

up and down. They're left and right. They're

on and off. They're black and white. And then

you also add in Kara. Is that her name? Yeah,

Kara. And she was also different than them. You

know what I mean? She was another complete opposite.

She wasn't a computer nerd. She wasn't a jock.

She was in her own little band. She was kind

of a loner. She was the artsy chick. Yeah, exactly.

And that was just, again, done really well. And

then, of course, You know, we have the continuing

saga of Dr. Tommy Oliver. That dude's a doctor.

I still can't believe that. Alright, let's just

go ahead and, for me personally, I'm gonna get

the Tommy guessing out of the way now. When I

first saw this and when I learned of the story

of, you know, him continuing on research and

going to college and everything else and all

this and all that, I absolutely love that Tommy

finally gets character development. That was

one of the main things I always complained about

in the earlier seasons, as he developed through

Mighty Morphin, through Zeo, through Turbo. There

was very rarely any real character development

with him. At this point, Jason David Trank's

coming back, it's 10 years, well 11 years actually,

11 years after Mighty Morphin. the dudes grown

up, and I love how they Created this this backstory

for him Life after being a ranger when he was

I absolutely love that. It's just amazing I agree

And then of course you have Trent Mercer who

is the white dino ranger an artist and adopted

son of Anton Mercer He accidentally found the

white dino I apologize The evil energies in it

made him a foe of the Dino Rangers until he was

freed and joined their cause. The power he acquires

from the White Dino Gem is a chameleon camouflage.

He was portrayed by Jeffrey Perazzo. A lot of

people don't like the Trent character. I don't

know. I don't know why. Yeah, and I don't really

get it either. There's just a lot of people that...

There's just a bad taste in their mouth. I don't

know. I mean, I thought he did an excellent job

portraying the position the only thing the only

problem I had with Trent was and it wasn't his

fault whatsoever is when They all morphed and

they were all just juiced, you know, just you

know Dino Thunder power. He was always why Dino

Thunder are just real nonchalant real laid back,

real, you know, just like not excited whatsoever.

I think maybe he did it one time where he was

like yelled it, you know, screamed it. And I

mean, that's probably not his fault at all. That's

probably the directors or Saban's fault or whatever,

you know, he's probably just following orders.

But I always always disliked when they morphed

together and he morphed with them because it

was always, you know, just real lame. Yeah. And

that's the other thing that As far as the call

-outs, you know, all the three main rangers always

say, oh god, what's the stupid call -out? It's

Dino Thunder power up. But they always say it,

Dino Thunder power up, ha! And what I noticed

is Tommy never does the ha. He just says Dino

Thunder power up, and then he does his morpher.

He never gives the ha at all in any of the episodes.

Right. Wonder where I know I'm not saying it's

a bad thing I just you know, like you mentioned

that Trent kind of does it nonchalantly and Tommy

does it his way and the three Rangers do it the

way that Usual Rangers do it, you know, I'm not

saying it's a bad thing. I just I thought it

was a very different way of Doing a morphing

sequence or calling out the morphing call, right?

And then of course we have the allies as usual

Haley Zictor who is the manager of the cyberspace

cafe and technical advisor to the Rangers At

first I thought she was Tommy's wife when I first

saw her right before Right after he disappeared.

I thought I honestly thought she was his wife

All righty Haley is good Haley's a heck of a

lot better than the chick that was in ninja storm

The chick that on the oh, yeah Definitely. She

definitely had a lot more and even Haley had

an amazing story where she was like Yeah, when

she when she walked up when they found dr. Rose

lab and she was like, yeah There's some stuff

you need to know and they're just like really

we already thought you were everywhere and now

you truly were you know She now you really are

everywhere Because they all talked about how

great she was at the the juice bar or whatever

the heck you want to call that place Yeah, the

cyberspace cafe. Yes. Yeah And of course you

have Mara, oh I mean Cassidy Cornell. Yeah, for

those of you who don't know, Katrina Devine both

played Mara in Ninja Storm and Cassidy here in

Dino Thunder. It's something that happens at

the end of the Team Up episode where they both

kind of turn around and like, that chick's cute.

She's not you know, she looks pretty damn good,

you know, whatever cuz it's cuz it cuz it's the

same damn girl Yeah, I never would have got I

never would I don't know I don't know if I didn't

pay attention or if it's because I usually watch

the episodes on My on my phone that I didn't

notice it But I don't I don't remember if you

said something or if I finally caught their her

name Yeah, what it was but I was just kind of

like wait a second what and realize that it was

the same person. Yeah But I think it was maybe

that it was you because I had started watching

Dino Thunder And you're like that's same chicken

Dino Thunder and I was like wait what and then

yep sure enough Yeah, if you go back and you

watch I think it's thunderstorm part 2 Episode

32 because that's the team up episode go back

and watch the end of thunderstorm part 2 and

that's when they kind of cross paths Let me see

here who else we got and we've got her her lackey

Devon Del Vail Cassidy and Devon to me have they

don't have the heart that bulk and skull had

but they have the same type of friendship relationship

that bulk and skull had where one is the straight

man the other one is the the comedic part in

in this case of of of Cassidy and Devon Cassidy

is you know this high -end toy princess and she

must have everything her way or no way and whatever

else and Devon just like yes mistress yes mistress

you know right right right but I still did get

the feel of you know the whole bulk and skull

kind of dynamic between the two of them and then

you have Dr. Anton Mercer who is Trent's adoptive

father and Mesogog's alter ego played by Latham

Gaines. I liked Anton. I thought it was, again

this goes to the story of the series, I thought

it was a very interesting way. to do a villain,

you know, complete improvement over Lothar. I

dare say that Mezogog and Anton, or both of them,

or just Mezogog in general, best Power Rangers

villain ever, as far as the mainstay villain.

Well, the only issue you have is like, I mean,

obviously, I know we talk about this every time,

but it's, I realize it's just make believe that

it's fiction, but Like, seriously, if you were

Anton Mercer and you knew that you were gonna

turn into Mezogog and try to take over everything

again, wouldn't you just lock yourself in a cage

of some sort? Wouldn't you chain yourself to

the wall? I mean, I know Anton Mercer wasn't

the greatest guy ever, but... and Mezogog's alter

ego was constantly trying to defeat Anton Mercer

and become Mezogog full -time, but when he was

Anton, he was just like... You know, Trenton,

don't tell anybody about this, you know, but

now I need to go to this meeting. Wait, you're

half dinosaur, dude, and you're going to try

to turn into this dinosaur thing and kill everybody

again. You should probably just chill. You should

probably stay at your office and lock yourself

in a cage of some sort. Right. I don't know if

you ever had this experience in, in, in middle

school or high school when you've got one set

of friends tugging you one way and another set

of friends tugging you a completely different

direction. Like say, For example, say me you

and Deval met up to have lunch and Deval was

pulling my left arm one way and you were pulling

my right arm the other way. Okay, that's how

I see Anton and Mesogog is that Anton himself

wants to be free of Mesogog. He doesn't want

to be doing this stuff, but when we see Anton

for the first time, Mesogog is essentially controlling

him. Yeah, but not not in Anton's human form

like well, yeah, he might be Antons human form.

That's that's yeah, but if you really if you're

a If you're aware enough to realize that he's

controlling you like Anton is that's what I'm

talking about If we were gonna go to lunch and

I said hey Mike, let's go burn this church and

kill all these nuns and the deval is like hey,

let's go fishing It's a little bit different.

I mean, it's not really like two friends tugging

at your arm. You know what I mean? Yeah. Um,

all right. So moving on. Okay. It's still better

than Lothar and, uh, whatever villain was before

Lothar. Who was it? Lothar and, um, oh God, who

was in, uh, Jungle Fury. Yeah, Jungle Fury. Who

the hell was that? We haven't even watched Jungle

Fury yet. Not Jungle Fury. Wild Force. Too many

jungle themes. No, it wasn't Wild Force either.

Yeah, it was Wild Force. God, who was the villain

in that? I can't think of his name. It's on the

tip of my tongue. Anyway, anyway. Master Org,

that's what it was. And we also have, and we'll

kind of talk about this later when we talk about

the team up episodes, we have the Ninja Storm

Power Rangers and the Space Patrol Delta B Squad

Power Rangers. Getting into the villains, you've

got Mezogog, the main villain of the series who

resembles a dinosaur. His alter ego is Anton

Mercer who collaborated with Tommy in creating

the Tyrannodrones. uh... he's also the whites

that are in just about the following most paris

is known as he does not taking the failure lightly

in the final episode he is destroyed by the river

down ranger with a giant tyrannosaurus rex of

energy thanks to the other rangers uh... message

as i just stated a few moments ago to me is hands

down the best power rangers villain of all time

simply because he had a plan he had a really

good decent plan he wanted to return the earth

to the dinosaur days and it wasn't just you know

it wasn't like a diva talk scheme of oh I want

this to be done or I want that to be like as

you said earlier there's not a whole heck of

a lot of one -off episodes in this series, and

I absolutely loved Mezogog. Sadly, he reminds

me of King Koopa from Super Mario Brothers. He

also reminded me a lot of Wes's dad from Time

Force. You know, as the father -son relationship

goes. Yeah. Yeah, I felt a lot of that word,

you know, the rich dad and the son kind of not

wanting to do, you know, following the footsteps

of the dad and the dad kind of being disappointed

kind of thing again, you know, which is which

is fine. You know, there's a lot of different

stories like that and it ended up being good

in the long run. So, you know, there was no problems

with it. I just felt a lot of similarities in

that. Yeah, and then we have principal Randall's

Randall slash Elsa evil warrior with the mysterious

past She doubles as principal Randall who runs

the Rangers school reefside high She has the

small crush on Tommy when he is the black ranger

as referenced by Zeltrax in many episodes in

the final episode Mezogog drains her over evil

powers and turns her back into a human She was

cute, too. Yeah. Yeah, she was definitely cute.

I love Zeltrax by the way Yeah, we'll get to

zeltrax in a second huge fan. Yeah Elsa I liked

her I I liked the principal ran and again it

goes back to I like the whole aspect of each

part of this story for this series because It's

got so many different things going on, but they

all make sense in the grand scheme and just having

that evil principal and just crossing between

the, you know, the real world and Mesogog's world

was very, very interesting. As far as Zeltrax,

I like him overall, as far as his look, as far

as his fighting style, as far as everything he

does physically, but story -wise, Zeltrax is

just a dude who got shafted for a job. He is

kind of upset about that essentially he's he

was in line to take Be Mercer's assistant and

then Tommy got the job Hey next time I get beat

up for a position I'm just going to swear arch

enemy in this on whoever gets it And I'm just

gonna try to destroy him for the end until I

die Yeah, that's my new that's my new goal in

life is to become a real -life ziltrex So, what

do you like about ziltrex? Just that he was constantly

trying to fight Tommy like, hey look, this is

going on and this is going on. I don't care.

I need to destroy Tommy. That's all I care about.

He was like a real life villain. He was just

a straight, he was just a jerk. I loved the way

he looked also. He was always down Elsa's throat

telling her what to do or what not to do. Or

vice versa, I should say, but I guess and that

means but yeah ziltrax was and it seems like

every season there's kind of a ziltrax type Yeah,

and uh, you know, but and not to jump too far

ahead, but I was very very happy with ziltrax

being the final villain until um, as a guy came

back as like a Crazy dinosaur thingy. Yeah, but

I was like hell. Yeah ziltrax is gonna be the

last you know the the final guy or whatever and

they're like no nevermind yeah and we've got

the white dino ranger clone this was after now

this isn't the split well this kind of is the

split personality but this was the clone of the

white ranger after they essentially sucked out

the alter ego right this was the clone that whatever

that That monster was that could make yeah, you

can make like a an identical thing or whatever

He made another another white range and he made

another trend But it was like there could only

be one trend So they had to end up like fighting

each other which that fought that final scene

was that was pretty awesome, man there was that

was a good job and even like that the clone was

like You know, he kind of accepted defeat He

was like, you know, I I guess I guess you just

wanted it more than me as he falls down and you

know blows up and dies or whatever, but Yeah,

I just, I liked it a lot. I liked how Trent was

kind of getting weak because there was two of

them and he had to fight, you know, I don't know.

I, I, I kind of like it. I guess it reminds me

of Superman versus Superman and whatever it was.

Superman three where he fights, fights Clark

Kent in the junkyard and just, you know, kind

of reminds me of that. I kind of love it. And

we've got the Tyranidrones and the Trippods or

the Triptoids. The Tyranidrones I liked. I thought

they were fairly good versions of like the first

boss you play in a video game. You know, I liked

them. I thought they were cool. The Triptoids,

which actually came out of Ethan's video game

and became Mezogog's foot soldiers. I didn't

really care for them after a while. Right, right,

right. I'm on the same page. Gotta agree. So

getting into the arsenal, we've got the DinoMorphers.

The DinoMorphers are used by the red, blue, and

yellow DinoRangers. Each one is powered by a

DinoGem and a donned... Adorned with the dino

plate modeled after each Rangers respective creature

to morph the Rangers simply flip the dino Plate

and call out dino Thunder power up when Connor

transforms into the Triassic Ranger his Tyranno

plate turns gold I like the dino morphers. I

thought that you know it's a very unique interesting

way to Portray a morpher, and it's not just a

wristwatch or it's not just You know something

that simple it has a unique design to it Yeah,

and I also like how there's technically two different

ones It's a dino gem and when they're ready to

morph it then turns into their a morpher after

they push the crystal it becomes the morpher

So it's kind of like you're not walking around

with this giant You know pager for this big DCR

on your wrist because you know the morpher is

Overall a decent size and you don't if you had

to walk around with that all the time. It'd be

ridiculous So they got this little wristband

with this gym on it that you know blends in it

looks nice, you know Yeah And then we've got

the Brachio Morpher, which is obviously Tommy's

morphing device powered by the black dino gem

It is activated with dr. Oliver count the dino

thunder power up and then inserts and turns special

key Tommy has had some interesting morphers over

the years Of course the mighty morph and morphers

between Dino Zord or Dragon Zord and Tiger Zord

those are essentially the same. They just you

know change out the background colors on Tommy

But the you know zeal morphers were cool the

turbo morphers were pretty cool But this one

I I think I like him doing this one the best

I mean yes the the classic MMP are more for that

that'll always be a favorite but as Far as like

out of all his morphers. I like this one the

best Yeah, it's probably definitely a runner

-up to the mighty morphine and and sometimes

I have a hard time deciphering the difference

like do I do I actually like the mighty morphine

more for better or do I like it because it was

the original and the nostalgia of it, you know

what I mean? And I can't decipher the difference.

So the bronchialmorpher is definitely absolutely

amazing. And I wish that the dynomorphers would

have been that way too, where they would have

used the key instead of just using their fingers.

Because as cool as it was, it's just better with

the key. It just seemed a little cooler. Then

you have the Drago Morpher, which is the White

Ranger Morpher. I absolutely love this thing.

Yeah, it looked awesome. Yeah, it looked so awesome.

The Triassic Morpher, which can be used to summon

the Triassic Rangers Battlizer. The Triassic

Morpher, essentially all it is is Connor's Morpher,

except it changes colors. Yeah, it's... Is that

when the Triassic Morpher is when he became the

Triassic Ranger, right? Yeah. And they had to

give up their powers for him to become this Morpher.

Yeah, the Triassic Morpher, essentially it's

Connor's Morpher except it changes colors because

it even says with the Dino Morpher, it says...

uh... when connor transformed into the triassic

ranger his terreno plate turns gold that's really

all the triassic more for his and it's used to

call his trans and battle is our armor which

were kind of getting into the weapons here now

and there is a great is that a lot of state which

grants him access to powerful shoulder cannons

and flaming dragon you'll you'll made of of two

mesodom themed handguns As well as allowing him

to super stretch his limbs somewhat like inspector

gadget. Oh boy Unlike most Rangers Connor activated

his battleizer armor with nothing but his own

willpower a Triassic Ranger Was were to be counted

as separate Ranger the battleizer armor could

be seen in this version of the super dino mode

Triassic battleizer armor it was all right. We've

had better armors, I think Don't like any of

the armors to be completely honest with you not

maybe I don't want to get ahead of myself here

But SPD not too bad because not only does he

not use it very much. It's not overly crazy I

just don't like all the the crazy battle eyes

or armors and they begin the crazy roller blade

this and the crazy extra cannon Flying jet this

it's just I don't know like when they go into

like super dino mode, you know, it's it's it's

cool It's a little bit. It's like an extra little

bit of an extra power, but the suits aren't that

altered I just don't like this this different.

I Don't know. I just I could deal without the

battle Isers. I could just really do without

them You know And then we've got the thunder

max saber, which is the downer Rangers primary

firearm can be transformed into a thunder max

saber I like the thunder max saber. I thought

it was kind of cool again. You know your You're

having swords and power rangers, which is always

a good thing. I really did enjoy that one The

z -rex blaster a powerful cannon made of the

Toronto staff Tricera shield and the terra grips

It can be upgraded to the z -rex blaster super

mode with addition of the Drago Sword and Brachio

Staff. According to Super Sentai continuity,

the Xerex Blaster can combine with the Thunderstorm

Cannon from Power Rangers Ninja Storm. This combination

would more than likely be called the Xerex Thunderstorm.

Okay, the Xerex Blaster on its own by itself,

I like. I don't know if I would like it combined

with the Thunderstorm Cannon. No, see that's

just too much. I don't like when they do all

that crap. We don't need all that. um... and

then you have the uh... the the general weapons

for the five rangers you the Toronto staff for

for Connor the tracer shield for Ethan the terra

grips for uh... Kira the brachio staff for Tommy

and the Drago sword for uh... for Trent I like

these weapons me too except for Ethan if I was

Ethan I'd be kind of upset I'd be like really

what I got a shield? Yeah, like everybody gets

it. Well, I mean and you know granted his shield

had like blades all the way around it So it was

it was probably one of the coolest shields ever

but still I'd be like no, dude He gets a badass

staff. He gets a staff that guy gets a sword.

She gets to like hand grips I'm gonna need something

else. No Trent had a sword The Dringo sword the

white I'm saying he I'm saying if I was if I

was Ethan a blue ranger I would be like Okay,

yeah, okay the tracer. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, okay.

I thought you're talking about Trent stuff. Okay.

Yeah He had his uh, no Trent was probably the

best. I loved his sword Not only does look amazing

all of its powers were absolutely amazing like

the arrows That was awesome. That was super awesome.

Oh I guess the sword is truly mightier than the

pen. I guess. You totally missed that. You mentioned

earlier super dino mode. Super dino mode is cool

because it enhances the look of the costumes.

It does give them power, but as far as the visual

look, I really like the super dino mode. I really

like it more so on Trent and Tommy. With the

white and the black ranger because those it just

made them look so much cooler Yeah, um, I liked

it because I use it every once in a while. I

loved absolutely loved the dino thunder all of

their costumes and Super dino mode wasn't that

much of a difference, but it was noticeable.

So it was nice You know what? I mean, and I don't

like when it's overdone, you know, like when

he did when Connor had on like the Jurassic wherever

where he had like purple and gold and red and

just it was like nice too much Yeah, you know

The shield of triumph and the Triassic Ranger

itself is essentially At first both Kira and

Ethan have to give up their powers in order for

Connor to even form the Triassic Ranger, right?

And they they eventually worked around that to

allow them to keep their powers and him to go

ahead and morph I don't know. I just didn't care

for Triassic now me neither And I didn't I must

I don't know what I was doing but I totally missed

why they got to keep their powers because I absolutely

hated that Ethan and Kara had to give up their

powers for him to To be this single Ranger because

it's like are you really gonna tell me that three

Rangers aren't better than one? Super Ranger,

you know, I just wasn't very believable to me

and then I don't know cuz like again I'm always

at the gym when I'm watching these episodes on

this treadmill on the elliptical or whatever

So I must have like turned away for a second

while they were explaining why all of a sudden

Kara and Ethan get to keep their powers And I'm

just like wait How did he turn into that and

they weren't even able to keep their pot, you

know, I don't get it So I totally must miss that

part. Okay, the whole plot line behind Triassic

was Trent and Tommy went to find it. Connor had

to claim the Shield of Triumph. He had to own

it. He had to accept it, whatever else. And then

when they came together the first time, it was

through the, essentially it's promoting teamwork.

Not really, because the team of the three formed

that one ranger. What happened later was Haley

was able to somehow transform or morph the morphing

grid to like switching energies or something

to where there was enough energy for Connor to

do his thing, but also enough energy for them

to keep their powers on. And that's what I must

have missed because I seen the episode where

He got the powers because Trent was like holding

or it was the white and the black ranger and

they told They told Connor to stay away and Connor's

like I I feel that they need my help and they

went there anyway and jumped in there to grab

the shield the last second it was a good episode

and and The powers weren't too bad, but it's

like wait a second They got to give up their

power so he can have a little bit more powers

Yeah, you've got three vehicles in this one you've

well kind of I Really liked because I thought

it was different I thought it was I thought it

was interesting the Raptor riders as the result

of one atomic Experiments with the dinosaurs

and are each commandeered by red blue and yellow

and black Dino Rangers I like the Raptor riders

because it's not Just oh, hey, here's a new motorcycle

for you guys to ride So the Raptor riders with

them riding actual you know dinosaurs I really

did like that I thought that was a unique twist

to a Power Rangers vehicle I guess yeah I will

definitely agree because regardless of how crazy

it is that there's dinosaurs running through

the city going a hundred mile an hour it's still

ten times better than the the ridiculous ass

stupid Power Ranger bikes that we get every single

episode Speak our every single season. I apologize.

Yes. Yes speaking of which we have the Raptor

cycles and again, I just I just can't get into

Power Rangers on motorcycles. I don't know what

it is. I just can't get into it. He even the

dyno ATVs I They look cool, but that's about

it. Yeah, I don't mind the dyno ATVs just because

they're different, you know, I mean they're They're

different than the stupid rafter cycles. You

know how excited I was when they got the, uh,

they didn't have motorcycles and they're like,

oh, and here's your motorcycles. And I was like,

ah, son of a gun ruined. I don't, I don't mind

the ATVs at all just because they're there, you

know, cause usually it's like, I don't know.

I like the way that both of the ATVs look. Mean

they resemble their swords a lot with different

stuff sticking out of the wheels You know stuff

on the front stuff on the back and it's not it's

a lot different than just throwing on a body

kit on a motorcycle You know, I mean like the

stupid cycles. So, you know and then What else

do we have we've got? the aerial attack craft

the trimar Triceramax command center truck and

the hovercraft cycle the hovercraft cycle is

built specifically for the blue dino ranger it

has flight capabilities the Triceramax command

center truck is Exactly that it's a ninja storms

ninja storms semi that they reused. Yeah, let's

call a spade a spade here So bombs are whoever

Disney was like look dude. We got this giant

ass semi We got to do something that seems like

you know what? Now it's the Dino Thunder semi

-truck. And then the aerial attack craft was

the aerial warships of Mezogog's army that are

usually piloted by Zeltrax. I don't know, I haven't

really cared for aerial attack vehicles in Power

Rangers, at least from the villains, since the

Machine Empire. I liked those aerial attack drones.

uh... so that's that's the weapons and and some

of the vehicles and all that stuff uh... getting

into these or it's uh... to me this entire series

feels like mighty morphin all over again it is

different i'm not i'm not knocking it i'm just

saying i love the familiarity of it is number

one reason dinosaurs again number two you have

five of the six main colors of the original series.

So the Zords, you've got the Tyranno Zord, which

is the Red Ranger's Tyrannosaurus Rex, you've

got the Tricera Zord, which is the blue Triceratops,

and the Terra Zord, a yellow Tyrannodon Zord

that forms the helmet and chestplate of the Thundersaurus

Megazord. Just the original Rangers that the

red blue and and and yellow. What do you think

of the three zords on their own? Well, I mean

the zords of the zords are awesome I'm glad that

they definitely went back to the dinosaurs. That's

another thing that made This season that much

better, you know, they could have they could

have had different zords They could have had

like some kind of spaceship zords and the seasons

still would have been you know It would have

been good But now they have dino zords and it

makes it that much better. It makes it it's that

much. It's great because of these zords And and

not to jump too far ahead, but there isn't a

zord In this series that I don't absolutely love

Yeah, every single zord is was it was amazing.

I loved them all the brachios zord, which is

the black brachiosaurus carrier zord This reminds

me of Tyrannus or Titanus. Titanus. Yeah. Yeah.

Well, the only the only thing I did not like

about The Brachiosaur was it didn't transform.

I mean it didn't it didn't it didn't do anything.

It just it was a carrier. Which was upsetting.

I mean I can overlook it simply because of the

Drago Zord. The Drago Zord was the most cool

thing I have ever seen. He goes word wasn't Tommy

zord though. I know it wasn't it was it was trance,

right? But what well what my what about my guy

Tommy? He's just like he didn't even get to you

know pilot the Tommy's all grown up. He's the

mentor now. He's The one over there in the corner

fighting zeltrax over that job I mean, you know,

I'm not saying that's not Tommy, but the the

point of this series is that yes, Tommy can still

hack it as a Power Ranger, but Overall, it's

the other four that is their story overall. Right.

He's there as a mentor capacity and you're not

going to have the mentor in a Zord that, you

know, actually does stuff. Yeah. What about the

Dino Stegna Zord? You're jumping so far ahead.

You mean the Drago Zord? Yeah, which word which

combines with the others, right? Yeah I love

the Drago Zord on its own when we get into like

the auxiliary Zords the the cephalo Zord the

Dimetro Zord the Stego Zord the parasaurus Zord

and the Ankylo Zord I like the auxiliary Zords.

I liked the combination of the Stego and and

the Drago Zords. I like all of the different

combinations. And again, it's something unique.

Thank God they didn't have to rely on Power Balls

in order to call up powers like what happened

in Ninja Storm. I understand that's what Ninja

Storm was, but it's like, it's either Power Balls

or Poke Balls. This power, I choose you! All

that BS. I liked how for each situation they

had a Zord for it most of the time as far as

the auxiliary Zords go like when the Dimetro

Zord formed the Saw weapon like that in that

episode they couldn't beat the villain without

activating the Dimetro Zord you know I like how

they how they went about giving the reasons to

have the auxiliary Zords And then you have the

Replicant Zords, which is the Kamotazord, an

indigo and teal Kamotara Zord that forms the

majority of the Blizzard Megazord, head, chest,

legs, and all that stuff. And the Chesmozord,

silver and violet Chesmosora Zord that forms

the right arm and the Blizzard Shield, the Blizzard

Megazord. These Zords are also known as Blizzard

Zords. I like these. Sadly, I barely remember

them. Well, they were they were only used the

one time. OK, that's why. Yeah. And I believe

it was it was real early in the season and it's

pretty much the ThunderSaurus Megazord with different

colors. And instead of having the Triceratops,

they have whatever that right that other zord

is, because it's pretty much a green pterodactyl

instead of a yellow pterodactyl. You know what

I mean? OK, so. The thundersaurus Megazord primary

Megazord of Dino Thunder the sun thundersaurus

Megazords main mode is created by combining the

Tyranno Terra and Tricera zords however several

combinations Exist and incorporate the cephalo

Dimetro and all the other ones um the original

version of this with just the three zords I Like

it. I think it's a little Miniature ish I guess

If that's even important, it just... Like when

you see the combination sequence and you see

the final thing before you see it actually in

the environment, when you see it against like

a black screen, I don't know, the Thundersaurus

Megazord at first with just the three Zords combined,

it just looks like it's a midget Zord. I'm kind

of confused on what you mean. I'll show you a

picture later of it. So, what did you think of

the Thunderzord Megazord? Oh, I loved it. Absolutely

loved it. I like how it only took three Zords

to form an entire Megazord as opposed to five

Zords. You know, don't get me wrong, I don't

like it any more or any less than that five Zords.

It's just different, you know what I mean? Than

having five Zords, you know, like the T -Rex's.

the body, one of the arms, the legs, and the

head, you know what I mean? Or kind of the head,

because I guess the pterodactyl's feet is technically

the head, but that's kind of what I meant. I

do love all of the different changes that it

can go through, as I said before. I thought that

was really cool. It has multiple modes. The Cephalo

mode, the Demetro mode, as we said, the Cephalozord

replaces the Terseriozord as the right arm, can

perform a finishing move known as the Cephalo

Power Punch. I actually like, the Cephalo Power

Punch was cool. I liked that. That was really

interesting. Yeah. I liked that. He came out

boxing. Yup. Yeah, definitely. The Stego mode

is a surf -up attack that was a little strange.

Or lame. Yeah, it is strange. I'll go with strange.

The Parasaur mode, the final cut finishing move

where the parasaur's tail becomes two blades

that function like giant pairs of scissors. Now

that I liked. I thought that was cool. The giant

scissors. There wasn't too much I didn't like.

Where's a giant rock when you really need it?

That could have been an amazing scene. The Ankylo

mode, Ankylozord replaces the Terzerazord as

the right arm forming another drill with shoulder

mounted shield allowing the Megazord to be able

to use one of the strongest finishing blows,

the double drill, by combining the powers of

the terreno and Ankylozord's drills. Now that's

interesting, a double drill attack. I don't think

I've ever seen that in Power Rangers. I don't

think they ever had the option to do it. We've

seen drills before, but we haven't seen it to

where it was a double drill attack. Not to get

too far off -subject here, but the toys of the

Thunder Source Megazord was pretty sweet also

because it had a feature that... there was like

a piece in the arms that would spin, and both

of those zords, both of those arms could spin,

which, you know, in fact made it more, you know,

a little bit more show, show... Accurate? Accurate,

yeah. Yeah. So, so that was always neat. Yes,

and then getting into the Dino Stegozord. The

Dino Stegozord is the personal Megazord of the

White Dino Ranger created by combining the Dragozord

and the Stegozord. The Dino Stegozord was used

by the White Ranger clone until his destruction

was plotted by Tommy in the episode Strange Relations.

The Dino Stegazord had several attacks, including

a powerful attack known as the Dino Stegazord

Stinger Drago Stinger, where it could launch

its staff at enemies. This was usually used,

the finishing blow, and another attack, the Stega

Laser, where it fires powerful blu -ray from

its eyes at enemies, which was only used on Angora's

second form. I like the Dino Stegas Zord, I thought

it was really interesting and cool way of combining

two of the Zords. Thought it was pretty cool.

Then you have the Mesodon Rover, personal Zord

of the Triassic Reign. And see, this is the thing,

I know by this point we're full on in Disney

production, and I know the story didn't allow

for a sixth Ranger, but essentially, the Triassic

Ranger is a sixth friggin' Ranger. Even though

it is Connor the the whole powers and everything

else of the Triassic Ranger seems like there

was meant to be a sixth Ranger in the series

It's got its own vehicle. It's got its own Megazord.

Did they have in the Sentai version was there

six Rangers? We'll have to find out when we listen

to Spada's clip. I don't remember off top man,

right? And then of course you've got the The

biggest Zord of them all, the Triceramax Megazord.

The Mesodon Megazord could combine with the Cephalo

Parasord, Dimetro Ankylosords to create the more

powerful Triceramax Megazord and its main weapon

as a giant double -ended axe that unleashes whirlwinds.

That is damn awesome. Really? You thought so?

Yeah. I don't know. It just seemed like I don't

like it when they combine every single Zord ever

to... To do that, you know what I mean? I don't

only used it like once or twice twice out of

38 episodes Okay, if they're using it every single

episode No, but Oh show yeah So that's the Zords

and then we are actually gonna go ahead and go

to spade his clip Do you have a favorite individual

Zord if you had to pick one? Wow. I'd probably

have to go with the Drago Zord as well, because

that big giant white pterodactyl or whatever

you want to call it was pretty amazing. It was

pretty awesome. Yeah, that would be mine too

if I was picking just individual Zords would

be the Drago Zord. I absolutely love that. So

let's head it over to Spada and we'll be back

after this. Hey gang, Spade of the Bolt Matrix

here, and this time we're talking about Baku

Ryu Sentai Abarange. Airing from February of

2003 to February of 2004, this series did a lot

of unique things for a Sentai series. But the

first thing that needs to be mentioned is that

while most of the physical items were adapted

into Power Rangers Dino Thunder, absolutely none

of the main story elements or the show themes

were taken over. In a sense, this was a return

to form to the original Power Rangers idea. Speaking

of those story elements, however, 65 million

years ago, a meteorite hit the Earth, and modern

science believes that is what killed off the

dinosaurs. What actually happened, however, was

that the meteorite split the planet in two different

parallel Earths. Dino Earth and Another Earth.

Another Earth is the one that we currently live

on, while Dino Earth is a version where the dinosaurs

are the superior species. Over time, the Ryujin,

also known as the Dinosaur People or Dragonoids,

evolved and thrived on Dino Earth, but a race

of creatures calls the Evoleans emerged from

within the remains of the meteorite and the two

races went to war on Dino Earth. While traveling

throughout the deserts of Dino -Earth, Abare

Black came across the trans -dimensional portal

that leads to another Earth, or our Earth. He

was attacked by a large group of Bar -Mia -Hei

and the Evolin Spaceship Anamalacarius. The Evolins

then fly through the portal with Abare Black

running behind them in order to make it to another

Earth. The story setup is nowhere near what was

shown in Dino Thunder, and it lends the idea

that there is something more at stake than the

typical invasion plotline of some Super Sentai

shows. Also, the Bar Mea Hai were used in Dino

Thunder as the Triptoids, but it does not appear

that the Ana Anamolecarius ever appeared in Power

Rangers. Another major difference in the two

shows is that in Abaranger, the dinosorts, which

were called brustosaurs, are intelligent and

can communicate with the Rangers through their

morphers. The only villains that made it into

Dino Thunder from Abaranger were Abarekiller,

or the White Dino Ranger, and Gyrudon, or Zeltrax.

I won't get into Gyrudon's past or story at all

because it really actually ties into the overarching

plot of the show and i really don't want to spoil

it too much because it's actually pretty darn

cool now Abarekiller was different. Or is different,

I should say. Abarekiller was a brilliant American

trained doctor named Mikoto. He was so bored

with his life that he just didn't care about

anything anymore until he witnessed the Ivalian

attack of the city. And while he was working

on the wounds from several people, including

Abare Red, he got really excited and became obsessed

with destruction. He secretly kept watch over

the Abarangers, and after the first Anomalocarius

was destroyed, he obtained the Dinominder and

Topgaller's Egg. After some time, he decided

that it would be more fun to fight the Abaranger

than be an ally of them, and he named himself

Abarekiller. Eventually, he became the leader

of the Evelines. or Evalyn's, or Evalyn's. But

during a specific battle, it was discovered that

half of the Evalyn god, and I am going to butcher

this name, Dezumozorlaia, was existing within

him, and furious that he was acting as nothing

more than some kind of pawn, he partnered with

the Abaranges to fight them. Now, the idea of

this God, this, and I'm gonna butcher the name

again, Dezu Mozorlaia is really interesting.

because it's not only the Evelean God but it's

also a parasitic entity and it was inside the

meteorite that hit Earth. When the meteorite

hit Earth and split the essence of this giant

parasite was divided between the two worlds and

it's really interesting because these essences

that got split actually found humanoid hosts.

In Earth it went to the humans and in Dino Earth,

it went to the Dragonoids, which are pretty much

humans with dragon scales glued onto their faces.

In the show it stated that the very presence

of these entities has been the cause for wars

and famines across the entire history of the

humans and the Dragonoids. And that means it's

an ancient evil that's always been around. It's

been around longer than humanity has. And the

ancient evil thing has been done un -incentive

hundreds of times. But it's never actually been

stated before or after that one thing that's

pre -existed humanity has ever been the cause.

It's always been, oh humanity came about and

now it's fighting the ancient evil. Well no,

all the bad things that humans have done throughout

the past were caused by this entity. which I

find really interesting. Now, this thing's goal

throughout the entire series is, well, one, it's

the Evoleans are trying to resurrect this god,

and this god is trying to bring its two halves

together again. It eventually does, and gets

a new body. But of course, as soon as it gets

a new body, it was destroyed in the final episode

of the series. Yes, having a big bad for the

series is typical for Super Sentai, but the concept

of this guy began in the very first episode,

and was an overarching plot point throughout

the entire series. And that was one of the first

times that this happened in Super Sentai. It's

done again in Maji Ranger and a few others, but

this was the first time that anybody actually,

or any Sentai actually did this. Now, enough

about the villains. The heroes, sadly, are not

that interesting. And they fall into typical

tropes. You've got the cheeky Red Ranger, the

cool suave Blue Ranger, and the super smart sarcastic

Yellow Ranger. but the black and white rangers

are where we really want to focus our attention

because as i said the white ranger is interesting

in that he's got this love of destruction but

he's also a royal dick if that makes any sense

he's just a complete ass to everybody, the good

guys and the bad guys. The Black Ranger is the

complete opposite. He was gentle but blunt, he

was the one that gave the Rangers their morphers,

but he has a incredibly tragic past that has

made him somewhat rough around the edges and

really kind of remorseful and just very dark,

but he never shows that aspect of himself, only

very, very rarely. Now, as I stated earlier,

only the story and the characters were the only

things that were not brought over to Dino Thunder.

Everything else was, including episode 10 of

AutoRanger. That was actually dubbed and shown

on Dino Thunder in episode 19. I've never seen

a Super Sentai do that ever again. Very, very

interesting, if not a little weird. Overall,

it's really hard to tell what the fans thought

of Abba Ranger, because some loved it, while

others hated it. But most fans agree that Abba

Ray Killer was probably the weakest of all of

the characters in the show, and the most disliked,

simply because nobody likes an asshat. And that's

really what it came down to. A lot of people

don't like that character because he wasn't a

good character. He was just a jerk. And he was

a jerk all the way up to the end of the series.

When he... Well, I won't spoil it for you. But

let's just say that a lot of people were happy

with his outcome. Overall, as I said, the show

has got a lot of mixed reactions and I don't

think it's good and I don't think it's bad either

way. It's just very kind of middling. It had

some great ideas and some great concept and some

of my favorite mecha from all of Super Sentai,

but over... but... when all is said and done,

it just really wasn't that memorable as a whole.

So I hope you guys have enjoyed this look at

Super Sentai Abo Ranger. I am Spade of the Bolt

Matrix and you can find me on Twitter at twitter

.com slash boltmatrix and you can check me out

on YouTube at youtube .com slash boltmatrix where

I have already reviewed all of the dinosaurs

from Dino Thunder. So I'll catch you guys next

month and let's return to the command center.

So we are back and thank you once again, Spada.

A lot of differences between Abba Ranger and

Dino Thunder. So many differences. Very, very

awesome. So what we were saying before I asked

about the Spada clip, you know, you made a very

good point about you could have just made a sixth

Ranger. as much as they use the Triassic Ranger,

and he could have came and went, you know, as

little or as much as they wanted him to, instead

of using Connor, you know what I mean? But, oh

well, it is what it is. I mean, I see, and the

reason why I brought that up is because of going

through the information and seeing, just seeing

it written out of, oh, the Mesodon Rover, the

Mesodon Megazord, which is essentially part of

the Triassic powers. and see that's the thing

is like I understand why they did Triassic because

it's a whole thing of the whole kind of plot

of this season is oh we've got a do it teamwork

style and that's you know all well and good and

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that

what I'm saying is just by reading through the

information and just looking at it on Wikipedia

it just seems to me that it would have made more

sense to Have something like the Phantom Ranger

where it where it's only in one or two episodes

or you know however many times they actually

use the Triassic powers because it just Seeing

it on paper. It just does not compute to me,

right? Well, they use them quite a bit and they

very well could have you know Saban art I keep

saying Saban I keep forgetting this is Disney

they could have obviously, you know easily done

as Little or as much as they wanted to you know

But yeah, it's too late now. We can't go back

and change it now So pick your favorite episodes

of course for us two of our favorites I already

know are gonna be legacy of power and back in

black Yeah, legacy of power is is even though

it's kind of like a recap episode. There's not

really too much to it It was very very good.

Yeah, I wish that I Wish Ethan Connor and Kara

would have been a little bit more starstruck

than they were But I don't know. I don't I mean,

I guess that's Yeah, I mean They couldn't really

be more starstruck as Haley came in right at

that moment when Ethan pause and he's like I'm

just totally bugging our teacher is a Power Ranger,

right? I liked the I'm trying to look at the

names here because I don't ever do good with

these names. Yeah, the Maybe it was in your dreams

the one where Devin is a John Travolta from staying

alive and that chicks all nerdy and with Acne

and glasses and braces and just yeah, I don't

I don't remember which episode I know which one

you're talking about. I was I enjoy that episode

Yeah that Again the one you know, I like the

the day of the dyno cuz we've got you know the

whole The first five episodes are all great.

I absolutely love that. Game On is another one

I liked. The White Thunder, Three Potter, I love

that. I can honestly say that there wasn't an

episode that I didn't, I did not like. I mean,

I can honestly say that. There was never an episode

where I was like, oh man, come on, get over so

I can go to the next one. I mean, they were all,

they were all good episodes. I absolutely love

the Thunderstorm two -parter, which is the team

-up between the Dino Rangers and the Ninja Storm

Rangers. Yeah, probably one of the best team

-ups that they've had to date. Outside of Forever

Red, yeah, I would agree. Yeah. Well, that really

wasn't a season -versus -season team -up. No,

it wasn't, but it was still a team -up. But I'm

talking season -versus -season team -up. This

is probably where it was at. And then of course,

you know, again, the last five episodes of the

series, from Drawn into Danger to Thunderstruck

Part 1 and Part 2, just absolutely awesome. I

love how the series started. I loved how it wrapped

up. It was just very cool overall. I want to

say it was Back in black, you know that I that

I you know, I recently I mentioned it real quick

on our Jason David Frank interview Probably,

you know one of my favorite things in the entire

season is when he's trying to leave the cyber

shop or whatever and they're like, you know,

dr Oh, where you going? And he's like, you know,

well now that I'm the you know now that I'm this

range or whatever I look through my closet Need

a lot more black or something Yeah, I thought

that was amazing and also loved when he first

became You know the black ranger when he's like,

you know, there's something you need to know

about dino gems You know one real well with dino

morphers. They're like one, you know, they don't

choose you and then the chicks like what's the

other and she's like they go real good and they're

and they're just all kind of like oh and then

he you know becomes You know that was also And

then she goes, after he morphs, she goes, aren't

you a little old to be a Power Ranger, Tommy?

Exactly. He's like, I may be old, but I can still

pull it off. And stuff like that is what just

makes the season that much more effing better.

You know what I mean? Yeah. Oh, yeah. So much

better, yes. Yeah, overall Dino Thunder is you

know as I said in the beginning of the podcast

is that It was something that I watched even

before we got to it just because I wanted to

watch it to just Relive how awesome it was and

then of course when we did get to it to review

it here This is a kind of transitioning over

into the music. This is a theme song I would

most definitely listen to all the time I absolutely

love the theme song in this show. There is a

kid that I work with at one of my jobs and I

sung the very beginning of this song so much

that he went and downloaded it on his iPod and

he doesn't even care about Power Rangers. He

knows nothing about Power Rangers. He could care

less about any of them. But I had him going,

there's a light. the distance and it's just like

you know and he was he downloaded the song on

his iPod and he brings it in he's listening to

it he's like I really like this song I was like

well if you'd like this song you don't check

out the season but he has yet to do that but

it's just funny that this song is very very good

very it's very catchy for even someone that doesn't

you know like Power Rangers Even the instrumental

version at the end credits, I love that too.

Normally with the Power Rangers themes, I like

one or the other, like the Ninja Storm theme.

I can't stand the Ninja Storm theme because of

the beginning voiceover part of where the sensei

is saying, in the mountains, blah, blah, blah,

blah, blah. That's why it turns me off in that

song. But the actual instrumental of the Ninja

Storm theme song I absolutely love. This one,

I love both aspects of it. And the music in the

series in general is just very well done. You've

got Kira singing, you've got a lot of two or

three of her songs in there. That was pretty

cool. And just really, really awesome stuff.

Absolutely loved it. So getting into... Here's

a quick question real quick before we get any

further. I've heard a lot of people say that

there was too much CGI or it looked too cartoony.

Do you agree? Do you disagree? Was it just enough?

I think some of the explosions were kind of off

-putting. ramped up as the as explosions that

we'll see next season, but Some of the explosions

might have been a little you know a little too

much, but overall I really did enjoy it I don't

think the the CGI and all that stuff was was

too campy at all like that like the dinosaurs

Yeah, no, not at all kind of cartoony. I like

them. Yeah, I liked them a lot too. Yeah Before

we get to the actual toys, there were two video

games produced for Dino Thunder. On Game Boy

Advance, there was a side -scrolling game which

was a platformer involving fighting several villains

from the series. The other game was produced

for the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo GameCube.

This was the first Power Rangers game produced

on a sixth -generation console. All the action

takes place inside the Zords. This game also

had some inconsistencies with the television

series to allow the action to take in the Zords

while battling the regular enemies who were human

size. I'm not sure if I would want to play the

Dino Thunder video games. Yeah, there's been

there's been multiple times where I almost bought

the Dino Thunder game for the GameCube. I mean

I've had that thing in my hand so many freaking

times that it's I could I mean and now that the

game some of the GameCube games work on the Wii

and it's kind of like there's been times again

where I've been like killing store and I'm like

I just need to get this this is like six or seven

dollars, and I'm like why don't I why don't I

just buy this who cares if it's crap But I still

I've still yet to play it. Yeah The toys are

absolutely amazing I'm actually gonna link to

a couple of spade his videos cuz he did he reviewed

all of the the zords for dyno thunder So those

will be in the post but absolutely love just

the look and feel of the toys I never actually

had any of them, but They just look so cool.

What do you think of the toys for Dino Thunder?

Yeah, definitely I got a definitely will agree

with you on that. The only thing that is a downfall

is The only way to get the bronchial sword was

to to get the sentai version the the abber ranger

And yeah, and it was probably it was it was it

was a decent size, but it was no it wasn't much

bigger than The tea are the Tyrannosaurus Rex

by himself. He was you know, he was a carrier

zord And he came with all of his zords all of

the auxiliary zords But they were like it was

it would they were the right color, but they

were like clear There was no like detailed to

him. There was they weren't painted Which you

know, but even so even even someone even saying

that That thing is very expensive. You're not

going to get that thing for under 150 bucks.

It's just not happening. I've been looking for

that thing since I seen Dino Thunder, you know,

a couple years ago when I was like, you know,

I want the American version of this. Oh, damn,

they don't make one. You know, so it's like,

I don't know, they would have had to make that

thing monstrous to fit the DX Azores inside of

it. So, yeah, someday I'll find it. Sure, it's

not gonna be any American. Yeah, you know yard

sales or anything, but somebody online I'll have

it someday and I'll catch him and I'll get it.

I Don't know Deval usually has a lot of luck

with with yard sales and stuff. You could always

you could always ask him That's funny. You say

that because he called me today and Told me that

he had some Dino Thunder Zords that he just got

from a yard sale weekend Wow, all right So I'm

probably gonna pick those up from him after he

gets done doing his yard sale Video because he

has a couple that I didn't have lines. Yes Yeah,

I told him I said, you know if you if he had

made his flea market finds video series More

so about him and in his wife's life of going

to flea markets and you called it flea market

lives It would be FML You're onto something there.

back and we have got a bunch of feedback to go

through so we saved most of it for the end. As

usual, Chaotix from the PCN boards has chimed

in. Dino Thunder brings back Tommy and makes

great use of the extended PR history along with

great villain and memorable story. The white

Drago Ranger is also one of my personal favorite

suits. The team -up has an awesome good Ranger

team versus last season's Ranger team turned

evil, premise and brings back almost every major

cast member from Ninja Storm. So thank you for

writing in for that, Chaotix. We also have Chris...

Chris Carpenter who actually also wrote us an

iTunes review. We'll get to that in a minute.

I really enjoy from the Command Center podcast

and I just heard yesterday from Scotty Cash that

you have an interview with Jason David Frank,

which is already on the feed, coming up along

with Dino Thunder. Just today I finished listening

to all the podcasts. You and Scotty are hilarious.

I also sent you a follow request over on Twitter,

blah, blah, blah. Thanks again and I hope to

hear my review from iTunes in a future show.

So we'll get to the iTunes reviews in one second

here. The last bit of feedback was actually sent

through our email, feedback at geekcastradio

.com. This is from Isaac. One of my favorite

podcasts after the Tooncast series of podcasts

is from the Command Center. Next to Linkara's

History of Power Rangers and No Pink Spandex,

it is one of the definitive podcasts you must

listen to Power Rangers fans, Young Samurai fans,

old MMPR to RPM fans. I as a Power Rangers fan

laughed and sometimes weeped at TFG1's rants

about certain seasons. Turbo, I agree it sucks.

Overall your approach is professional and smart

for not only geeks but newbies to this network

as well. I hope you guys will read this message

for my birthday on July 20th. Thunder Podcast

will select you guys, have my support and hope

for the best. Well, thank you Isaac. And happy

birthday. Yes, happy early birthday since this

will be up before your birthday. uh... he also

isaac also mentioned some of the other deep cast

radio stuff but i cut that out of this part of

the feedback is it's pertaining to other stuff

uh... we're actually going to mention isaac after

his birthday on july twenty sixth when we record

our dark night uh... at this episode for movie

we can review all right getting into the itunes

stuff we've got uh... three reviews this time

around one is from Sad sad drop bear says not

bad four -star review left on July 2nd 2012 Not

too many Power Ranger podcast out there This

one is not bad went back to listen to the first

three episodes discussing the first three seasons

And there were a bit too much Tommy fanboy gushing

for my taste, but I will live There are many

times where I find myself yelling when these

guys get stuff wrong, especially from the first

three seasons We've been through this but maybe

a refresher watch was in order. Well Watched

them when we did the The episodes but it's understandable

and their enthusiasm makes up for it I am really

looking forward to seeing what they do once they

have caught up with the seasons. Keep it up said

Sad drop bear we Gush about Tommy because we

are Tommy fanboys. That's Yep. Yep. He hit the

no That's that's really what it is as far as

the future after we catch up when we get the

samurai and whenever we get to mega force in

between our samurai episode and whenever mega

force hits netflix cuz we don't you know met

mega force is supposed to come out later next

year at some point uh... so whenever most likely

there will be a break here on the podcast between

samurai And Megaforce, depending on when Megaforce

gets put up on Netflix, once it's aired, after

Samurai and until, as I just said, a new series

comes along, the plan is Scotty and I are gonna

actually go back to the beginning and we're gonna

do, from the command center, commentaries. We

are going to pick out maybe one or two episodes

per each season of the franchise, starting with

Mighty Morphin and going all the way up to whatever

the current season is. We may skip a few seasons,

depending, Jungle Fury and all that BS, but yes,

we are going to start doing commentaries after

episode 21 of the podcast. And the second review,

we just heard an email from Chris Carpenter.

He said, I enjoy this a lot. Five star review

left on July 4th. I love it. It helps me remember

the parts I missed watching the seasons. I really

don't mind the tangents. I enjoy it. Thank you

guys once again for making this. You guys are

very interesting. I understand how hard you guys

work and appreciate the time spent. So thank

you, Chris, for that one. And we got one last

one here from ProtoFan19 left on July 11th. a

couple days ago, one of my fave podcasts, Five

Star Review. This is a great podcast for Power

Ranger fans discussing the seasons, one season

at a time. It's fantastic, nice, in -depth stuff.

I love your section that goes through the Super

Sentai counterpart and learn about the original

material. I listened to the podcast during school.

I'm not supposed to be doing that. It helps me

do my work, and pretty awesome. Thanks for the

podcast. Keep them coming. No, you're not supposed

to be listening to podcast while you're in school.

You're supposed to be learning when you're in

school She's trying to promote us. So, you know

somebody sees her with their headphones in and

they go Hey, what are you listening to and she's

like, oh I'm gonna come answer the podcast. You

know, check it out. It might be a he I don't

know. Well, it will whoever this is gonna help

us out So thank you to everyone who sent in feedback.

Like I said before, we're trying to mainstream

the feedback at the end of the show and I think

it works out a lot better. And of course, Dino

Thunder overall for me, I absolutely love it.

That's really all I have to say. I absolutely

love it. It was one of the best seasons after

the MMPR stuff. Final thought from you? I'll

definitely agree. Don't know if I can go I don't

know if I can go as far saying that it's Yeah,

it's probably it's probably on the same level

as time force Maybe maybe a little bit better,

but I can't put it on mighty morph in this level.

Well, I put it The way I said it was Dino Thunder

for me is the best season out of like from in

space to Whatever's past Dino Thunder. Mm -hmm

past the Mighty Morphin or Dino Thunder for me

is the best series so far. Yeah, I'll definitely

agree with that. Alright, and of course, for

is the oldest living Power Ranger. Not the oldest.

Huh? Just the best. Call me Oliver. I heard my

name. You missed me, didn't you, Zeltrax? Yes!

Alright! Awesome! Right on! You made it! Hey,

Dr. Rho, what's this? A black Dino Gem. Let me

guess, the power of invisibility. Looks like

it. That gem belongs to my master. There's two

things you guys need to learn about Dino Gems.

One, you can't choose them. They choose you.

What's the other? They go real well with dinomorphers.

Aren't you a little old for this, Tommy? I may

be old, but I can still pull it off. I had an

energy reading on the tracking system. I had

a good idea it was another gem. So, I had Haley

build a morpher, just in case. And the day of

my gig? I was coming to tell you guys the energy

had moved and we needed to investigate. When

you were nabbed by the Goon Patrol. Brutal. Yeah,

but it all turned out okay. Well, I better get

going. Going? Where are you going? Shopping.

I checked my closet this morning and there's

a series of shorts of black in there. See ya.

Yeah.
