Hey again its The Risingstar back with another Batgirl Entry!
This will be a short and sweet blog entry post but i will get right to the point.
For this entry I’ll be listing the worst and best Batman live action films as well as the best and worst actors who have played The Dark Knight.
Without further delay lets get this started!
THE WORST:
Batman and Robin (1997): After the success of Batman Forever this poor excuse for a film came out. Yes it has Arnold, Clooney, Uma Thurman, and Silverstone but to many fans it was a flop. What was billed as fantastic Batman movie left many fans of the franchise with a bad taste in their mouths. With cheesy one liners, jokes, and awkward acting it just didn’t live up to many fans expectations. The only good thing about it was it marks the first time we see Batgirl, Poison Ivy, and Mr Freeze on the silver screen in a live action film. It also marked the first appearance of “Bane” *though The Dark Knight Rises pretty much kicked this version of Bane to the curb*. Out of all The Batman films this one will always be remembered as the worst in many fans eyes.
In Between Bad/Good:
Batman Forever (1995): This one I can’t quite classify as bad but I can’t quite say it’s one of the best either its somewhere in the middle. It has its good points and bad points. Good points Two Face, Val Kilmer as Batman and Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face! The bad in my opinion is Jim Carrey as The Riddler and Edward Nygma….
I mean come on for those of us who were avid readers of the comic and the animated series seeing this live action portrayal of The Riddler just leaves a sour taste in our mouths.
If you have played Batman Arkham City and Batman Arkham Asylum you know what The Riddler is supposed to look and act like and Jim Carrey’s portrayal leaves much to be desired. I mean pink hair?? Are you kidding me?
The Best:
The Dark Knight (2008): First off RIP Heath Ledger and thank you for leaving us with a fantastic on screen Joker! There is just so many fantastic things I could go into about this film but I promised a short post so till next time when I review the Christopher Nolan franchise!. Joker was awesome, Christian Bale as Batman rocked and seeing Two Face’s origin in live action form was fantastic. All in all a truly amazing movie.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012): Fantastic fantastic end to the franchise! Loved Anne Hathaway as Catwoman ( She gives Michelle Pfeiffer a run for her money in my opinion) and BANE!!! Oh yes finally an actual good version of Bane! Also seeing Tanya Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter being the one behind all the madness was awesome!
Batman Returns (1992): Not to much to say other then its the first and last time we see Penguin make an appearance in a Batman film. Michelle made a fantastic debut as Catwoman which will always be remembered as looking extremely fierce in that cat suit. It has a great plot line,cast and for the first Batman film it wasn’t to shabby.
