welcome to the 19th episode of the telecast brought

to you by the Geekcast Radio Network. Today we

are once again continuing our look at game shows

from our childhood and with me today as he has

been for most of the game shows in this block

is the man the myth and the legend Steve Megatron

Phillips. Hello. Hello. I got to start introducing

all of us with these spectacular names now that

Mike's calling him that ridiculous name. I agree.

Today, Steve and I are going to be talking about...

Folks, we're talking about Wild and Crazy Kids.

And before we get too far into our discussion,

here's a little background information on the

show. It debuted in 1990 and ran until 1992,

so it was on for three seasons. This is another

one of those Nickelodeon game shows that was

a half hour in length. And according to most

of our sources, it was on for 65 episodes. For

those of you that don't know exactly what the

show was, it's almost like you take the physical

challenges from Double Dare except for instead

of having teams of families it's like teams of

like kids and it's just like all hell breaks

loose and they just have these like ridiculously

messy slimy sloppy games and it's wild and crazy

just like the title dictates so what do you remember

about this show Steve? Besides the fact that

it's outdoors good call yes but yeah I was thinking

exactly that it was just like watching Double

Dare just outside. I just keep thinking about

this over and over while I was watching it. It's

almost like take Salute Your Shorts and the cast

from that and turn it into a game show and then

add the events from Double Dare and then just

add the signature Nickelodeon slime. It's almost

like it's a bunch of camp kids taking place outside

at some camp. That's that's all I kept thinking

about I was like slew your shorts game show style

basically Because also, you know and we're kind

of just getting the we'll mix this in with our

memories as far as the who's who's but I mean

you kind of just take these hosts or these these

People who are running the games and their kids,

too Basically, I mean they're not much older

than the contestants So no, so it's just like

kids who are like in charge of the gym class

or in charge of the summer camp and let's just

let all hell break loose to me. That's all. Go

ahead. But it was a fun show to watch as I noticed

from some of what I was actually able to get

my hands on just with all the different kind

of goofy challenges. Yeah, and I think that's

what made it unique is number one, like you pointed

out, it's outside. And then the types of games

they're playing made it unique and even though

it reminded me of other things like double dare

or like a camp setting and you know, etc. etc.

It was a completely unique game show that we

basically didn't have anything like it at that

time and thinking since the 90s I was trying

to think have we had anything even close remotely

like that now that you've mentioned that it's

outside and the only thing I can even come close

to thinking it was like Nickelodeon's version

of that wipeout Japanese outside crazy game,

you know what I mean? Oh, yeah I mean if you've

made a Nickelodeon version of that so you have

kids instead of like all these Japanese adults

or whatever and then you add in Nickelodeon slime

It's almost maybe a little bit like that I mean,

there's not a lot of game shows that have aired

on TV that had an outdoor setting No, there aren't

very many of them. Yeah and let's just talk a

little bit about Some of the hosts, I mean, most

of them are going to be names that you've never

heard of, but one of them should sound familiar.

We had Don Jeffcoat, who always looks really

familiar to me, but I can never place him. But

we'll talk a little bit more about him maybe

a little bit later. But then he had two girls

that one was on for the first part of the show

and then was replaced by another one, and that

was Jessica Gaines and Annette Lashour, or I

don't know if I'm saying that name right. And

then the most recognizable host, Omar Gooding.

What do you remember about the host in general?

The girl, I kind of remember. Yeah. I think pretty

much the most recognizable one is Omar Gooding.

Just because he was pretty much always in the

event. Yeah. Kind of announcing every little

thing that went on. Almost annoying to the point

of the guy from Yes Dear. Oh yeah, Michael Malley.

But he had a better personality. Yeah, it was

almost like it was more acceptable because he

was a kid in a way. So him being over the top

didn't strike me as maybe out of place as it

did with Michael Malley's super caffeinated self.

But yeah, they're both very similar as far as

the fact that they just had a lot of energy and

were like over the top annoying sometimes. The

the guy the other guy I'm trying to think of

who he reminded me of Because he reminded me

of somebody from a sitcom I don't know if it

was the Sun on married with children or or somebody

else, but he reminded me of somebody else I knew

but all in all I thought it was cool when I was

a kid that the kids were kind of running the

show Not not saying that I always liked them

or always necessarily like was entertained by

them But I just thought it was cool that it was

kids in charge. How did you feel about it being

kids instead of like adults like we've seen in

all our other game shows? It made it different,

more interesting because I think it was more

relatable. And you're like, man, I wish I could

be the host of that show, you know, and still

participate. Yeah. Well, in a way, it was almost

like it was you could picture your neighborhood

like if you had a group of neighborhood friends

that were all kids that got together on, you

know, like a weekday afternoon or a Saturday

or whatever. It was almost like You could picture

your group of friends if you had all the equipment

just doing this and the oldest kid being one

of these hosts in charge. It wasn't that far

-fetched that you could see yourself doing this

stuff if you had the equipment. Yeah. I don't

remember the girls as much as you do, I don't

think, but I think I would if I was able to find

a little bit more online to watch, which we'll

talk about a little bit later. But overall, if

I had to rate the hosts, Even though I did enjoy

that they were kids and I could relate to them

more I Would probably put them like you said

you made the comparison of Michael Malley I'd

probably put them down with him as far as in

comparison to the guy from Legends of the Hidden

Temple or the the adults on where in the world

is Carmen San Diego How do you rate them amongst

all the rest of them? I would have to say that

the Carmen San Diego ranks number one. Yeah I

would say that these hosts would probably be

somewhere in the middle. That's probably a good

placement. I'm not convinced on these kids or

the guy from Legends of Hidden Temple. I kind

of have them somewhat in the same area. I'm not

100 % sure who I'd put ahead of who. But yeah,

I think the Carmen San Diego so far is standing

a little bit heads and shoulders above the rest.

Either way, it was an interesting group of hosts.

It was a unique group of hosts, and it definitely

helped make the show unique as well as, like

we said, being outside. So let's not waste any

time. Let's get it right into the meat of the

show, which is... The Good. The Bad. That's right.

It's time for the good the bad and the ugly of

wild and crazy kids There actually was a lot

of ugly whether it was a bad or good it was there

was a lot of slime and a lot of mess but before

we get into that what are your thoughts on the

the theme song for this show I Think that this

was I mean, I like this theme song and I didn't

realize in the theme song contest mashup what

it was in there, but now that I listen to it,

I'm like, oh, this is very memorable. I remember

this. This is probably one of the most helpful

blocks of episodes we're doing for those people

that are trying to figure out the theme song

contest clip that plays at the end of every episode,

because most, I can't remember exactly how many

entries I've gotten for that, maybe somewhere

around five or six so far. And I'd say that half

of them have some of these game shows as the

ones that they have mixed up. because obviously,

you know, some of these game show theme songs

might not be as recognizable outside of Carmen

San Diego. You know, a lot of people switched

Legends of the Hidden Temple and Guts or Wild

and Crazy Kids, not Guts so much because it says

Guts in it, but Wild and Crazy Kids and a Legend

of the Hidden Temple, they mixed up a little

bit. This one, it's not the song so much that

I liked, it was simply the part where they're

like wild and crazy kids. Like that's the only

part that I remember. I don't remember anything

before or after that line without listening to

it. Yeah, and I loved that and the aspect of

just the whole kind of weird 90s techno type

wannabe thing that they had going on with it.

Yeah. It was an interesting theme song. I wouldn't

rate it as like a number one theme song or whatever,

but it was memorable for a couple, like you said,

the 90s sound and then that catch line, which

was kind of classic Nickelodeon there. What were

your thoughts about the contestants now? This

is something that we're in, you know, we could

probably point this out to all the listeners

We're really really stretching our memories on

this one and we're really trying to remember

as much as we can because this may be the one

out of the 33 Shows that we're covering in this

season that has the least amount available online

So we're really trying to remember things and

the episodes that I was Able to catch bits and

pieces of the contestants ranged like there were

sometimes where it was kids against kids I saw

one where it was kids against parents What kind

of contestants did you come across when you saw

anything or are from your memory of the show?

I came across both. Okay, just in the little

bit of clips I could find on YouTube I don't

remember as a kid if the parents thing was just

a special thing that they did every once in a

great while or if that was something regular.

Maybe if there's people out there that are more

familiar with this show, they can comment on

the post at geekcastradio .com and let us know

if parents were more regularly featured. I thought

most of the time it was just kids against kids.

I'm pretty sure that you're right. Yeah. And

these kids, it seemed like they were just more...

your average kid just kind of like your generic

kid you know it wasn't like something that was

like maybe uh... more academic like we saw in

carmen san diego it wasn't like they were looking

for quote unquote athletes like they might have

been in guts the kids in this one were maybe

more similar to like the legend of the hidden

temple kids where it was just like your everyday

people that you could easily relate to what what

was your opinion of the kids they chose on this

one Well, there was a big diversity on them.

They all didn't look kind of cookie -cutter like

the rest of the game shows. That's true. They

were all different ages, shape, sizes. It was

not the same. They all looked the same in all

the other shows. This one they had a diverse

amount of kids with different athletic abilities.

Yeah. And like you said, different, completely

different sizes. And so I remember seeing like

a little, um, she looked maybe like nine or 10,

like a little African -American girl that was

going against like, uh, uh, like almost five

foot, you know, like six white boy. And like,

in one event, I mean, like you said, all shapes,

sizes, colors, everything was going against each

other. And that's what kind of made this show,

I guess to me seem more like it was like a, uh,

a summer camp where you just had whoever showed

up. That's who was playing. Mm -hmm, but again,

I think a lot of these elements of this show

made it maybe easily more easily to relate to

And not make you feel like you had to fit a certain

mold to be on the show As far as the individual

games I will give credit for them coming up with

some crazy stuff I do remember if I'm correct

that they did try to work in Nickelodeon products

into the games as a way to try to promote and

sell more of their products and the one I can

think of most easily is those Nickelodeon moon

boots or moon shoes or I don't remember exactly

what they were called but I remember them being

available in the stores and I remember wanting

them so badly and then seeing them on this show

where the kids strapped on these moon shoes or

moon boots and you know could jump Crazy jumps

or whatever. I mean not like insane crazy But

I do remember bits and pieces where they would

work in stuff that you could go buy at the store

Do you remember seeing any of those or experience

any of that when you were a kid? I don't remember

any of it off the top of my head Yeah about any

of their their merchandise, but I know that a

lot of the Nickelodeon shows had a lot of prominent

merchandise that was popping up throughout various

game shows Well, I almost completely forgot that

that type of merchandise was even available when

we were kids because when I think back about

toys when I was a kid, obviously I think of action

figures and stuff like that, micro machines and

cars, stuff like that. I forgot some of the stuff

that was available that was Nickelodeon. I remember

there was like Gack or different Slime or Goop.

I remember the Moon Boots. I don't remember all

the other Nickelodeon merchandise, but now that

I'm thinking about it, I do remember when I watch

these shows seeing it, especially in this show

and Double Dare the most. I don't know. It just

added something interesting, another way for

you to connect to the show where you could see

it on the show and then go buy it. Not that I

ever bought any of this stuff because I guess

my parents didn't let me, but I don't remember

ever having any of it. But I do remember always

wanting those darn moon boots. What was your

opinion on some of the different events that

you were able to see as far as like if you're

comparing it to like the events of guts or You

know some of that or maybe even some of the ones

that we'll talk about next episode in double

dare What were your opinions on some of the events

you saw? Some of the ones I saw I saw the ones

where they had to race with Kind of a word search

type thing and then whoever lost got Whatever

random thing dumped on their head whether it

be flour chocolate or some kind of like puke

looking consistency colored thing I Remember

that some of their slip and slide stuff. I remember

their steal the bacon. Oh, yeah They'd have like,

you know their water slides and that kind of

stuff There was just a lot of different weird

game show things that they had in here that a

lot of it would be reused throughout Doubledare

or was used in Doubledare and then some of it

was completely new. Right. Yeah, you had a little

bit of crossover and some other just random stuff.

I remember seeing some tug of war type stuff.

I remember one specifically obviously because

I was able to find it online but where they were

jumping on the moon boots and they were popping,

they had like pins on their head or these like,

not really pins but these little spikes or whatever

you want to call it and they were popping these

balloons above them and they were all filled

with shaving cream and the team that popped the

most balloons would win. It was like a mixture

of athletic events and then like you said with

the word search and stuff, there were some that

were like more academic events. Then add shaving

cream or chocolate or slime to every single event

somehow Yeah Which was kind of interesting so

I mean that's probably why they had such a variety

of people because some of it was athletic some

of it was You know you had to use your intelligence,

you know and then of course Nickelodeon So let's

get everybody messy and dirty and try to convince

them at home to like dump stuff on their self

and get in trouble I just remember the games

themselves were a definition of the title of

the game show. They were wild and crazy. And

if they could have added messy in there, it should

have been wild and crazy and messy kids. Oh,

yeah. I do remember a couple other events. There

was one that had the Nintendo Power Pad was worked

into one of the events I remember. They worked

in some basketball or baseball type things. I

think I remember something like with either bicycles

or some type of carts that they were racing in,

some type of wheeled vehicle. I wish I could

find more online so I could actually see some

stuff and maybe bring back some memories, but

there was, like you said, a shit ton of games.

Yeah, and I remember the they had like the long

jump type of game with the shaving cream. Oh,

yeah I do remind or mud and then the the baseball

game thing that you're talking about is that

dizzy bad home run derby nice And then they had

like Mark Summers guest appearance and then nice.

Yeah, I do I had actually played dizzy bad before

so that's kind of fun Not that it's like a whole

game, but I have done the dizzy bad thing that

they did some of some of them were Things that

you were able to recreate now some of them you

would have had to have certain things So you

might not have been able to do it and you had

to do most of them without the slime portion

of it But as far as like just individual like,

you know spinning on in a with a bat around until

you're dizzy and trying to hit stuff I mean that

stuff you could recreate at home So it was something

where like that's what for me differentiated

this from guts is Nothing that they did on guts

you could do at home hardly Yeah, pretty much

Whereas you could manage to recreate some of

wild and crazy kids in your backyard So that

was kind of a cool feature. I I wish I could

remember more as far as the order that the show

went I don't know if you know I believe they

played like three games an episode or there was

three events that took place over the 30 minutes

Don't believe they set it up though as like a

round one round two round three thing and I I'm

pretty sure there wasn't a bonus round per se

And I don't really remember there being any prizes

other than you being able to win A shirt a wild

and crazy kids shirt Do you remember anything

else about prizes or anything about the process

of the show overall? I don't really remember

much of the prizes. I think it's been a while

obviously and there isn't much of anything out

there. I think that they did get to keep the

shirts but I'm not sure and I don't think that

there was really anything else that they could

give them. I'm almost certain that they gave

them the shirts though. That's the only thing

I can even remember. I never remember even even

like those simple stupid prizes that you saw

in some game shows like a Walkman or like or

or the Skechers right right I don't remember

anything like that I think it was like you got

to go have fun and throw all kinds of crap on

each other and you got to keep your shirt even

though it was probably dirty at the end maybe

they gave you a new shirt. Yeah the most I can

see them actually giving you besides that would

be like a little personal pack of gack. Yeah

or something yeah. I do think I remember having

one of my friends that had some gag, but I don't

really remember much about it. I had a friend

that had that, but I was never allowed to get

it because of obvious reasons. Yes, me too. So,

you know, there is some good there. They're not

a lot bad, except for I think the one little

nitpick as far as bad that I could throw out

about this show, and I know it wasn't their intention,

but one thing I really like about some shows

is that final round, is that bonus round. Whether

it's running through the Temple run on Legends

of Hidden Temple or trying to pick things out

on the map in Carmen San Diego. Of course, the

obstacle course on Double Dare. Even shows like

American Gladiator, the obstacle course at the

end, a lot of times that final event is what

makes the show. I'm not saying that it hurt this

show, but it would have been cool if they had

some type of cool, crazy final event type thing.

Yeah, I mean that's just if I'm trying to be

nitpicky, I guess The the one thing that irritated

me a little bit about the show from some of the

clips that I did find was that they Replayed

everything right after you got done watching

it. It's almost like cuts. Yeah, it was almost

like We just watched this watch another, you

know round of something new, right? Did they,

I don't remember if they had the, did the hosts

like do the play -by -play when they did the

replays? Oh yes. I was like, really? You have

to explain it to me and I have to watch it again

in slow motion? So another bad thing that we

saw in Guts that we're gonna see again I guess

in this one. And then of course the ugly about

this one would just be all the crap that got

slimed on them. Some of it didn't look too bad

like when it was shaving cream or something that

didn't look too bad But you like you mentioned

there was some stuff that looked like it was

darn near puke being thrown on them I would rather

have the flower. Yeah liquid form of anything

poured on me. Yeah Some of that stuff was chunky

and nasty Yeah, or it was thick and like the

chocolate. Yeah Let me tell you, because I have

actually been on stage for a school type fundraiser

with a set of other teachers where the kids got

to come and dump ice cream toppings on us. It

was anything from caramel to chocolate syrup

to whipped cream to strawberry type stuff to

anything you could think of. Well, that's all

good and fun. That is not a fun cleanup Like

it takes forever to get that stuff completely

off of you So I feel bad for some of these kids

depending on what they got thrown on them Yeah,

it's all better. I do in your head. Yeah, I definitely

wouldn't want any of that crap No, not at all

and I definitely threw everything I was wearing

that day in the trash So didn't didn't even try

to wash any of it So that's the good, the bad,

and the ugly of Wild and Crazy Kids. Now it is

time for... Things that make you go hmmm. So

here are some of the things that you might not

know about Wild and Crazy Kids. Now we couldn't

find a lot of trivia about this show. There was

a couple things and I'm going to use this to

try to kind of talk about some of the guests.

uh... stars that came in because i wasn't aware

that they even had these i don't remember these

from when i was a kid uh... starting with a few

celebrity parents is that to make sense for the

uh... telecast season one content we had a lot

of worries from saved by the bell uh... jonathan

taylor thomas from home home improvement michael

fishman from rosanne mark summers like i see

mention from doubled air chuck norris hulk hogan

arnold short uh... schwarzenegger What do you

remember about some of these celebrity hosts?

Do you remember ever seeing these in the episodes?

I remember seeing Lark from Say By The Bell.

I'm pretty sure I remember Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

I know Mark Summers showed up more than once.

I do not remember any of these celebrities that

were in there, Chuck Norris or Hulk Hogan or

Arnold. Yeah, definitely. I don't ever remember

any of these people appearing. I wish there were

episodes online that had some of them because

that would be fun to see Hulk Hogan and Chuck

Norris and Arnold doing some of these events

or getting stuff thrown on them. I don't know

if that ever happened or not. That would be awesome.

There's also, apparently, a young Tobey Maguire

appeared on the show promoting the short -lived

Fox sitcom, Great Scott. There was some sports

stars, DeBerkeshaw Ferguson, Bodie Miller. There

was Alfonso Riviera from Fresh Prince of Bel

Air, Rodney Peat, old quarterback from the Detroit

Lions. So there was some random people. I think

that's a good thing to do in a show like this

because it adds a little something to the formula

which makes it maybe not go stale so easily.

But I wish I could remember some of these guest

stars actually appearing. But what do you think

about just the idea of having them on the show

in the first place? I think that it's not bad.

It helps. Shoot, look at Sesame Street and everything

else that they've done. It's a nice dynamic to

actually see in there because it puts people

in there that, for the most part, most people

will be able to relate or know. It's also, at

the same time, not necessary. Right. You don't

have to have them there. Well, and sometimes

it can take away. Yeah. I mean, I like that they

kept it small with who they had guest host, or

not guest host, but show up. Right. Yeah, I think

when you do that, it always depends on how you

do it. Obviously, with a show like Muppet Show,

it was built into the formula. you know since

it's you know like that Saturday Night Live thing

where the whole show revolves around a host sort

of so I mean that you can't go wrong but when

it's a show where it's not part of the exact

formula of the show you really have to be careful

with how you do it so it doesn't take away from

the show but at the same time it does give you

some good promo material to you know hype up

people to watch the show so they can see some

of their other celebrity stars or whatever I'm

kind of surprised at this other one we have.

The only other thing I have that we might not

know about the show is that these kid hosts were

actually nominated and won some awards. They

were nominated for a Young Artist Award in 93

and they won it in the year before in 1992. I'm

just kind of surprised that this type of show

with these hosts was recognized by any type of

an award. That is kind of crazy. Because, you

know, it was just an off the wall, messy nonsense,

like, no brain, just have fun type thing. And

as we mentioned, the hosts weren't necessarily

like these fantastic, you know, actor, emcee,

play by play host people. So I'm surprised that

they were nominated and won for awards. I would

like to see who they beat. Just to see what kind

of competition they had. Yeah. But I mean, just

thinking about these kids, you would never expect

them to have some awards, would you? No. I just

think it's like a free for all kind of run through

everything show. Yeah. But since we're talking

about the kids, we can go right into where they

are now as far as some of these people. It's

not going to be a lot of interesting information.

We'll just go kind of quickly. Jessica Gaines

was one of the girls. The only thing I could

find on her after this show was that she was

in the movie Jawbreaker. which some people will

recognize. The other girl, this was her debut

acting, if you want to call it acting role. She

appeared in a 2010 episode of House. For people

that know this show, what about Brian? She was

Miss Lopez. But she seems like she still does

little bit pieces in guest spots here and there,

so she's still out there. Don Jeffcoat, he's

probably actually more famous for some other

roles than he is for his roles on here, and maybe

this is where recognizing him from his one of

these roles. He was Eric Antonio on the Wonder

Years, Michael Towner on Seventh Heaven, and

he was on a whole lot of stuff on One Life to

Live, and apparently when he's not acting, in

between acting, he teaches self -defense classes.

I guess he's a second -degree black belt of some

sort, so he teaches self -defense classes and

then acts kind of off and on. Wow. It's kind

of interesting that he's chosen those two different,

I mean, it seems like polar opposites, but I

don't know. I'm trying to remember if I remember

him from Wonder Years or 7th Heaven, but that's

where I recognize him from. And the other one,

Omar Gooding. I knew he looked familiar. Yes.

He is son of Cuba Gooding Sr. and younger brother

of Cuba Gooding Jr., which has to suck, first

of all, to be the brother of Cuba Gooding Jr.

I mean, not that he's like the end -all be -all,

but when your brother's that successful. No matter

what you do people are out, you know, you're

always gonna have that like living in the shadow

type thing Mm -hmm, which is maybe why he had

some run of bad luck. He was arrested for gun

possession in 1995 and Either put in jail for

a while or I don't know if he was actually spent

time in jail or if he only got probation Probation

I read yeah, so he was you know on probation

for gun possession. I don't know what he was

doing with a gun uh... he has been in some other

stuff hanging with mister cooper one -on -one

uh... playmakers a show called miami medical

i'm not familiar with most of these except for

hanging with mister cooper and he was in the

two thousand one movie baby boy so he has been

stuck around and like done some other stuff but

it seems like he's had some some run of bad luck

along the way as well but he's probably the more

when you say he's the most recognizable out of

the four oh yeah I mean, looking at him now,

you wouldn't be able to tell. But back then,

you could most certainly tell who he was related

to. Yeah. And like we were saying before our

offer, when we were kids, we kind of got them

confused from each other. I didn't know Cuba

and Omar were necessarily different people. I

almost thought that they were the same person.

But even if I knew they were different people,

you could tell that they were related. Oh, yeah.

Yeah. So, not a lot of big stars coming out of

this show. I didn't really find anything on contestants

making it big or a celebrity contestant. We might

have seen our only one of those when we talked

about Guts and AJ Meen McLean. But we'll see

if we can find anything on our next episode.

kids. Behind me are a whole bunch of kids doing

aerobics. I guess any kind of exercise is good

You're watching Nickelodeon, and now back to

Wild and Crazy Kids. Alright, thanks for staying

with us everyone, and you may be wondering how

you can watch this show now. And we are also

wondering how we can watch this show now, because

that doesn't seem to be an option. Like the Curse

of the Game shows that we have talked about before,

not available on DVD, Netflix or iTunes, and

Steve, wouldn't you say it's almost virtually

not available on YouTube as well? I would agree.

It's pretty much not there. You can watch the

theme, the intro, the outros, the credits, but

it does not exist other than maybe a couple clips.

Yeah, there is absolutely, unless I am blind,

there is no episodes on there from beginning

to finish. And it is not on iTunes. Yeah. So

even on YouTube, you can't find a single episode

from beginning to finish. You almost even can't

see an event from beginning to finish. Like,

you can randomly see a game here and there. Like

I said, I might have been able to watch like

five or six individual games at most. And out

of those, I think one of them was good quality

picture. Like, most of them were a little bit

blurry or a little bit... There was one that

was crystal clear. It was the one... I can't

remember if it was the one where they were hitting

the balloons and breaking them or if it was the

one where they had the word scramble. It was

the word scramble. Yeah, that one was pretty

clear and you can get a good shot of Omar Gooding

and you can kind of see that event. I just wish

there was more out there because it's almost

not even enough to see what the events were like

because you can only see like, I mean, how many

events could you see? Like maybe three, four,

five? Yeah, if that. Yeah, I mean. It was pretty

tough. There was a couple of them, like you can

see one. I think that word scramble's on there

like two or three different times. But it's like

the same event, so it's not really worth it.

There's a one real clear version, then there's

a blurry version. I don't know, like I've said

before, maybe if we're lucky someday Nickelodeon,

at least Nickelodeon could put out some type

of game show collaboration disc. If there's even

masters of this show available, which maybe there

isn't. It's hard to say back in the day which

which things got you know put into safekeeping

and which things got discarded But I don't know

it would have been nice if there was something

out there if anybody out there knows of other

links or other places to watch some of this show

please let us know and we'll link it or something

that geocast radio or at least let people know

where they can watch it because it's kind of

a shame that you can't even Almost it's almost

like you can't even get enough to remember the

show From the clips. Yeah Which usually if you

can get at least one episode, you can get a gist

of what the show is like or it can trigger memories,

but there almost even wasn't... There wasn't

even like all the different hosts aren't even

out there on the clips. I don't think. I saw

both the guys. Did you see any clips with the

girls host? Not really. Yeah. I think I only

saw pretty much Omar. Yeah, I saw one that had

Don Jeffcoat on it, and I saw all the rest that

had Omar, and that was it. And maybe that's the

only reason they're available is because Omar

Gooding was in them. Who knows? But I couldn't

even find a clip with Jessica or Annette on it.

So the frustration of game shows being available

to watch for us continues. Let's get right into

our ratings then, basically the last thing we

have to do. Even though we weren't able to watch

much and it's not available much pretending it

was available on DVD What would you give this

show as a rating? Probably a two. Yeah It's you

know and for those of you that have forgotten

our reading a two is basically something that

we we like to watch back in the day, but we really

don't Care if we watch it now or if we watch

it again, and I kind of agree with you It's it's

kind of like Guts to me in a way. It was like

something that I kind of liked back then but

it wasn't even my favorite game show back then

It's one of those things that you could watch

one or two, you know and get the gist of it or

you could More so watch it as a space filler,

right? While you're waiting for something better

to come on, right? And that's what it was even

as a kid like I wasn't I didn't know necessarily

what time this came on I wasn't like racing home

from school to watch it, you know where I did

know when Carmen San Diego was on. I did know

when Legends of Hidden Temple was on. This one

I would have watched it simply if it came on

next maybe and I was too lazy to get up. But

this is not something I would spend money on

today. No. So why don't you give us your last

words on your thoughts about wild and crazy and

apparently forgotten kids. If I were to Watch

it again It wouldn't be for for very long. It

would be more so just to get the gist of it.

But Overall, it's it's I would say better than

guts Yeah, because that it's more of a mesh between

that and some of the other game shows we've covered

and Doubled air, right? So that makes it more

enjoyable, but still it's ultimately more forgettable

than some of the other Game shows we've either

a covered or yet to cover Yeah to me I think

you bring up a lot of good points and then we

brought up some things over the course of this

episode You know the good parts are the highlights

for me is you know number one like you had said

now that I think about it It was outside which

was unique, you know, you had some kids hosts

or kids, you know running the show Which was

kind of a unique thing uh... and the products

that you got to see that you could maybe recreate

by buying at the store or recreating the games

in your backyard those are all pluses but the

thing this one's missing for me besides a bonus

round it just doesn't have any magic to it there's

no mystique there's no aura around it that makes

it seem like at the same time that they're making

it something you can relate to that makes it

also not magical I guess is what I'm saying because

even though you couldn't recreate Legends of

the Hidden Temple, that's what made it so cool

was because it was like this mystical set that

you wish you could have been on. And same with

some of these other shows like Carmen San Diego,

you wish you could have been there with the Rockefeller

and doing stuff on that map and seeing the things

light up. Even though it was stuff you couldn't

recreate at home, that's what made those shows

what you wanted to watch. So it was kind of like

a double -edged sword. At one point, they made

this a show that you could recreate in your backyard

minus the goop. But at the same time, that makes

it not magical to me. So I guess that's what

my biggest problem was. And I would say, like

you did, that I would maybe put it above guts.

But they're both kind of similar shows that might

have been fun at the moment, but not memorable

and not magical to me. No. Before we close out,

any thoughts about what's coming up on our next

episode? I don't usually do this but maybe we

should tease it up a little bit. So if this was

a Debbie Downer for you guys, don't worry, we're

going to pick it up. Yeah, we're going to pick

it up when we go to the longest running game

show for kids in history next episode when we

go Mark Summers style with some Double Dare.

I haven't decided 100 % if we're going to talk

about all the different variations of Double

Dare, but it should be some good conversation

and some more upbeat stuff about one of the greatest

game shows of all time. So stay tuned for that.
