About this Episode

The hosts discuss their reactions to the action-spy film Kingsman: The Secret Service, highlighting the movie's unique pacing, comic book origins, and standout action sequences. They explore the satirical take on the James Bond genre, the performances of the main cast, and the memorable musical score by Henry Jackman and Matthew Margeson. This is Dave. He really enjoys going to the movies.

He's always considerate to his fellow moviegoers.

This fellow is disturbing everyone around him.

Oh look, Dave is shutting off his phone. Now

is not the time for talking or texting. Oh well

now look at that. There's a true movie -watching

friend. Let's all be more like Dave. This is

From Matthew Vaughn, the English action director

who's not Guy Ritchie comes a James Bond movie

with more cursing. I look like I give a f**k.

Blood and butt sex or at least more explicit

butt sex in an action spy comedy parody YA satire

thriller that left audiences saying man I did

not expect that movie to be as good as it was

Kingsman the Secret Service When a suave British

secret agent who's definitely not James Bond

trains a young protege to definitely not become

the next James Bond, supervised by an old authority

figure who's definitely not him, and helped by

a gadget wizard who's definitely not Q, to fight

a bald supervillain in a mountain lair who's

definitely not Lohfeld. The only way to convince

you that you're not watching an actual James

Bond movie is to constantly remind you that you're

not. Really bad pun. This ain't that kind of

movie, bruv. What's his name? JB. As in James

Bond? No. We get it. Meet Eggsy, your average

London tough guy who's also a trained Marine,

parkour expert, former gymnastics champ, pickpocket,

and stunt driver. When he pisses off the kind

of British guys you need closed captioning to

understand. You think you can check the ****

about us so we won't do nothing just because

our governor's banging exes, Mum? You're looking

for an avid rent boy? They're on the corner of

Smith Street. He'll use a magical get -out -of

-jail -free necklace to join the Kingsmen, a

secret agency born by elite rich aristocrats

who answer to no one, kill anybody they think

is a threat, and ask you to murder your own dog

to join their ranks. You know, the good guys?

Shoot the dog. Watch them square off with an

equally over -the -top bad guy in Richmond, Valentine.

A man hell bent on stopping global warming with

an equally over -the -top plan. by giving away

evil SIM cards which he just assumes everyone

will know how to replace and use that are programmed

to make everyone in the world kill each other

through brain waves or something unless Richmond

puts an easily detectable chip in your brain

that he can use to kill you instantly which every

world leader agrees to for some reason yet somehow

the dumbest part of this patently ridiculous

evil plan is Sam Jackson's distracting Tweety

Bird meets Mike Tyson voice You are totally the

reason I'm here I'm pretty sure the director

was scared to tell him that that idea was stupid.

So strap in for all the gadgets. Blatant product

placement. I'll have the Big Bang, please. And

brutal wide intrigue you love about the Bond

films. But with even more boring snooty Britishness

like extreme politeness. I'm so fiery. Manners

make it man. Male fashion advice. A bespoke suit.

Never off the peg. On Oxford is any formal shoe

with open lacing. Basket requires top hat. A

gentleman traditionally wears the signet on his

left hand. And really specific drink orders.

Give the 60 Tour d 'Allemande. An 1815 Napoleonic

branding. That's 45 Lafite. Martini. Gin. Not

vodka, obviously. Stirred for 10 seconds while

glancing at an unopened bottle of vermouth. Thank

you. You're not James Bond. We get it. Starring

The Kingsman's Speech, Hot Austin Powers, Stanley

Tucci -ish, King Arthur in the Knights of the

Rectangle, Professor Joker, the Westboro Baptist

Church, Blades of Borey, and Daniel L. Jackson.

Kings, man, that movie came out of nowhere. One

notable absence from the red carpet was Iggy

Azalea, still missing. Well, at least some good

came out of this. Hello and welcome to MWIRE

movie weekend review. This is episode 128. I

am one of your hosts, Dave, Joe and Mike, and

joining me for... Returning to the fold is Steve

Megatron Phillips. Yeah, I was gonna say, it's

been a while. It's been about a year and a half,

actually. That was an old early 2000s song. It's

been a while. Yeah, good old stained. Yeah But

no it really has been a while for you because

Technically the last episode you were on was

the Beverly Hills Cobb episode, but we recorded

that like in early early 2015 so We just released

it like three months ago That's ridiculous. I

forgot that that was even recorded and then you're

like, oh, yeah We got this episode in the can

here and it's and I was like really like I don't

remember Beverly Hills Cop and the GCRN have

never really gotten along, folks, because before

the GCRN, when I was doing TFG1 podcast, I screwed

up my audio and the only audio we had was Dodds.

But we are here. It's Ebison 128 of MWire. We

got two episodes to go before I put the show

on hiatus for the rest of the year. I do still

have a plan for the podcast and all that stuff,

but I've just got so much stuff going on that

sometimes some shows have to go on hiatus, and

it actually is good for the shows that that happens,

so it doesn't, you know, drag. But yeah, that's

what's going on there. What kind of movies have

you seen lately? Just kind of catch up and all

that happy stuff You're gonna be surprised that

I haven't watched a whole lot of movies in the

last six months Well, you have been busy with

two children. Well, it is even that like I've

just had a lot going on between school and this

different sites and then gaming and then Television

and then we've kind of taken this kind of sabbatical

from certain types of movies, you could say.

We're trying to go cleaner with our viewing.

Right. Kind of shying away from anything that's

got like nudity in it or excessive swearing.

That's right. Kind of been a pet peeve for a

while, but it's really getting to that point

that I just I can't watch them anymore. So like

over the last six months, I've watched Star Wars

The Force Awakens, I know it's a little bit over

six months, but whatever. And Deadpool, Batman

V Superman, and I know Deadpool, that's a contradiction

to the entire thing, but that was before I decided

to go that route. And I knew I had to see that

movie based on the fact that it was Deadpool.

And then I saw Civil War. Mm -hmm. I saw I have

yet to see Apocalypse and I've yet to see TMNT

Those are my hit list still and Star Trek Beyond

obviously that's not out yet, but I want to see

that Yeah, I started beyond the console later,

but uh yeah, and I've seen the two Adam Sandler

movies The one the ridiculous six the ridiculous

six was a complete waste of time Yeah, I watched

it out of Just wanting to see how bad it was

More so than anything and my wife loves Adam

Sandler movies, but ten minutes in she's like

Yeah, we got anything else to watch Yeah, I was

gonna say can we watch something else and then

I watched the do -over with Adam Sandler, right?

I like the movie overall because it's got this

nice action II vibe to it. There's like a moral

to it. There's like a true mission to it, unlike

a lot of the stuff that he's done recently. And

it was a very coherent storyline, however, the

fact that it had at points excessive nudity and

excessive swearing completely ruined that movie.

If he would have cut the language to his old

school days, And then cut out the the nudity

bits That movie actually would have been really

enjoyable for the first time in like the last

10 years since since click and I and and I know

this is a Podcast episode on something completely

different, but I think that the action aspect

of it kind of relates. It's it's movies I mean,

it's called movie we can review but yeah, I enjoyed

the movie overall, but it was so It was so perverse

that I just like I knew Mary wouldn't watch it.

And so I was trying to Download and edit it.

No, and I took out all the nudity bits. I took

out all of the Constant humping that was showing

up or the dick jokes or the literal dick showing

right and then I've spent I don't know about

an hour editing out swearing Like the excessive

swearing right and it's Adam Sandler's character

that does it David Spade's character is pretty

clean That's kind of shocking straight man in

this like he's the the nerdy like bank operator

that's really intelligent Adam Sandler's like

the he's a mortician and Yeah, it's just it's

it's really odd but I got about 45 minutes into

the movie which is like an hour and a half after

I edited out like probably 20 minutes of garbage

and I still have a lot ways to go with the swearing

so I kind of stopped for a while and I'm gonna

go back to it later but it's a mess of a film

as far as that stuff but it was a good film other

than that. Yeah, I I haven't had the need or

the desire to watch anything Adam Sandler's done

since click Like click was kind of like the last

film of his that I've actually ever seen and

I think that's pretty fair That was probably

his best movie. He's done to date other Yeah,

it just like I mean, I'm not expecting, you know,

happy Gilmore to or waterboy to or 50 first 51st

dates or you know, I'm not I'm not expecting

the sequels to all his really really good movies,

but Like they're just some people in Hollywood

that I used to care about that I used to really

really enjoy watching their stuff And now I just

don't give a crap. Well, he never grew up and

that was his problem He didn't evolve kind of

like Jim Carrey Adam Sandler is Billy Madison.

Yeah, he essentially is. But anyways, getting

on to the more fun and entertaining point of

the episode. Yes, the Kingsman, the Secret Service,

which came out a couple of years ago. Yeah, it

came out two years ago. No, actually, I take

that back. It came out last year, according to

this. February 13th, 2015. So it's... about a

year and six, five or six months old. How did

you first hear about this and were you interested

in seeing it after you saw a trailer or anything

like that? I didn't actually watch the trailer.

I, at least not initially. I, what I did is I

saw it and I was like, okay, this looks interesting.

And I liked, I didn't know who the kid was, but

I knew the other actors plus Mark Hamill was

in it mm -hmm for a whole like 20 minutes but

that was like the whole draw for me was the fact

that Mark Hamill was in it so I was like okay

I'll check this out so I go and sit down and

watch it and I knew that he wasn't gonna be in

the whole movie it was kind of a you know unless

it's unless he's playing the Joker or Luke Skywalker

I know he doesn't usually play a lasting part

in anything so I went in, you know, with no kind

of expectations of what the film was going to

be, other than just brainless action film. But

it actually turned out to be a lot better than

what I thought it was going to be. And I liked

the cast that they chose and the pacing and a

lot of the action. It just, it fit, even though

it was like completely absurd. Some of the stuff,

it was very comic booky, but it was... It was

done really well for a play on a satirical version

of James Bond. Right. It's funny you used the

term comic booky. Did you know this is actually

adapted from a comic book? I didn't know that

until afterward. And then I was like, oh, OK,

so it's like this and kick ass and all these

other... You know, ones that... Well, okay, I've

never actually read the Secret Service... I've

never read any of them, but like any of these

ones based off of comics. Yeah, I mean, I've

never actually read the Secret Service comic

done by Millar, Mark Millar, and Dave Gibbons,

but I did know going in that it was based off

of a comic book movie. Just to run down the film

information here for you everybody, directed

by Matthew Vaughn... It stars Colin Firth, Samuel

L. Jackson, Mark Strong, Taron Egerton, and Michael

Caine. The music was done by Henry Jackman and

Matthew Margeson. It, as I already said, was

released February 13th, 2015. The budget was

$81 million. The box office was $414 .4 million.

So it more than made its money back. Talking

about the director Matthew Vaughn Really quickly.

He's also done He did layer cake in 2004. He

did stardust in 2007 Like you mentioned earlier

kick -ass, which I still have never seen those

movies I've seen them there. The second one is

I don't know first one was good. The second one

was good. So I guess they were all right, but

I enjoyed this a hell of a lot more. I'm more

looking forward to the second version of this

film coming out because I don't know where they're

going to take it. But I really liked this movie.

Yeah. Yeah, we'll talk about Kingsman the Golden

Circle coming out next year in a little bit.

So you got him on directing. He also directed

X -Men First Class. He had the privilege of being

a producer on Fantastic Four. Yeah, FanFourStick.

So there's that. After seeing the movie, I kind

of want to go back to the comic and read it and

see what it's like. But I'm not sure if I will

right away. And the coolest thing for me with

this movie is With this cat with the cast members

and everything else, you know, you got Colin

Firth who is you know, okay, you know I'll go

ahead and say we already heard it in the episode

folks, but That epic voice guy from honest trailers

is right It just tries so hard to be James Bond

that also tries so hard to point out that it's

not a James Bond movie Well, and then they say,

you know if this were a James Bond movie Yeah,

and then like that constantly is thrown in like

throughout the movie I will say that I did like

the Colin Firth is you know, the double -oh -seven

type character as Harry Hart. Yeah. Yeah, and

then Mark Strong Having him play a character

that wasn't a bad guy. Yeah was a nice turn of

events And I like how they set this up to be

like almost like King Arthur's table like yeah,

and Merlin is Mark Strong and Mark Hamill is

Professor Arnold who's you know crazy scientist

guy Michael Cain is Arthur So it's kind of funny,

but uh and that's an odd twist to see him is

kind of a bad guy In essence like he's yeah,

yeah kind of perverse, but Samuel L. Jackson

was hilarious playing Valentine. Yeah, he was,

but the... Hey, you want some McDonald's? Want

me to control the world? This ain't that kind

of movie. Oh, God. I... And I fully blame Screen

Junkies and Honest Trailers for this. Ever since

I saw the Honest Trailer for this movie. Cuz

mr. Epic voice guy there points out. Oh, it's

it's Samuel Jackson with a Mike Tyson lift in

prayer. I'm like, oh god No, he did not just

say that and now I was like and think it was

Mike Tyson when I see this Samuel Jackson starring

as Mike Tyson in 2017's Tyson film. Who knows?

We're gonna make down us But yeah, I I really

liked this film the the pacing and it was great

the car chase in the beginning And the car chase

was awesome. I I loved that part because Eggerton

Was Taunting the other boys in the bar and then

he stole their car and then the fact that a later

Colin Firth had to come in and save him in the

bar and then he just wiped the floor with them.

And then Eagerton to kind of mirror that at the

end of the film was really cool. I remember when

this came out last year, it was right around

the time that Marvel was running the Superior

Iron Man series. Superior Iron Man only ended

up being, I think, seven, eight, nine issues,

something like that. But I had already seen Kingsman,

so I knew of Valentine's plot of the free cell

phone, free internet, free whatever, but the

SIM card's a chip to incite violence and all

that. And I'm like, I'm reading the first issue

of Superior Iron Man, I'm like, hey, wait a second,

Tony's doing the exact same thing that Valentine

did in the movie. Because they kind of mirrored

a little bit. What I find ironic, and I know

it's supposed to be ironic folks, but what I

find ironic is you have a villain in this movie

in Valentine that basically can't deal with blood

and violence, yet he wants everyone to kill each

other. Well, anybody that opposes him anyway,

but one of the funny things is... It kind of

did it better. The taking over. Yeah. Because

it actually succeeded. But yeah, the fact that

the whole film played out very much like it's

James Bond -esque thing, and then it didn't.

And then it reminded you at points, even though

it looked very James Bond, that it wasn't. And

it turned into that comic book. You know, so

um Yeah, the first time I saw it though I was

kind of mesmerized on all the little games that

they had him play like the you know getting locked

in the room with the That filled with water Yeah,

he had to break out and he was the only one smart

enough to figure it out And then the the thing

of shooting the dog and he's like, yeah, I'm

not gonna do that And then they're like, you

failed this mission. You failed this country.

What I find naturally hilarious is that they

end up having Hart link Valentine to an obscure

hate group which is in a church in Kentucky.

Just no. I could make a comment, but I'm gonna

leave it alone. I've lived here for 20 -some

-odd, 23 years, I think. Something like that.

I've lived here for 23 years in Louisville, Kentucky,

and just every time sometimes Kentucky comes

up in film, it's like, oh, God, stop, please.

It's all right. I've had Flint, Michigan and

Detroit, Michigan come up in various films, either

directed by Michael Bay or that have had Will

Ferrell in them. Or, you know, that wannabe used

to be white rapper. Got all eight mile. Slim

Shady. Yeah. Slim Dolphin. I'd rather have Beverly

Hills Cop be associated with Detroit. Thank you.

That's true. Yes. Very true. I really dig this

movie like you already pointed out about the

pacing and the any action scenes in this are

just so great because you don't expect them like

that first thing you're talking about with with

eggsy and and heart when you know when they're

in the bar like because Eggsy just thinks just

some guy doesn't know it is or whatever else

and Then he starts basically kicking everybody's

ass. I'm like, oh my god. That was an action

scene that came out of nowhere That was kind

of awesome Well, and then you know him escaping

from them, you know earlier in the movie where

he's running like doing some like Pro skater

type weird stuff jumping off all the buildings

and everything. Yeah, it's like the parkour scene

from Casino Royale in 2006, but yeah, but um

But yeah, I was watching this and it was funny

because you had a lot of these crazy action scenes

and then they would either slow down or speed

up depending on the type of dynamic they were

trying to go for. And then the funniest part

was at the end where they started doing, where

everybody's heads were exploding and then it

started doing the... And then everybody's heads

are just popping with color and explosions at

the same time. Certain beats of the music and

it was slow down or speed up depending on how

the music went Yeah, it was just it was it was

really weird but it was it was really it was

it was a fun movie like I was fun I can't really

complain about anything this movie like even

if I wanted to nitpick on certain things like

It's one of those few action movies where I really

don't feel like nitpicking. It's just really

enjoyable all the way through Yeah, I mean they're

really and they have British people and I care

Yeah, I know I was said that they killed Colin

Firth actually they made him like such a likeable

like lovable character throughout the movie even

though he was a dick and You realized how you

know? just and good he was and to have him die

like that. I was like, you gotta be kidding me.

I'm like, this sucks. Yeah. Kinda does. But yeah,

I mean, Kingsman was the first movie in a long

time. Outside of... For me, when it comes to

movies, and you know this about me, I'm more

of a franchise kinda movie watcher. It's a franchise

now. Huh? It's a franchise now. Well, yeah, it

is but what I'm saying is this movie was to me

this movie was a complete project whereas beginning

middle and end they really didn't leave anything

to like out in the open or or too open -ended

to the point where they absolutely had to have

a sequel. I'm fine that a sequel is coming forth,

it's great. But when I first saw this film, from

beginning to end, it is just one complete story

to me. Whereas most of the time I'm going after

franchise stuff, like the Turtles movies, or

whatever Transformers movie there is, or whatever

Fast and the Furious movie, or Mission Impossible.

Honestly, outside of Mission Impossible 5, Rogue

Nation last year. this is probably the one movie

from 2015 of this style this genre that really

really got me going as far as really really enjoying

it like I don't remember seeing this in theaters

but I do remember obviously seeing it you know

on iTunes or wherever you know after the fact

but it was just so damn cool and it was the It

was like the Deadpool release of that year, because

it came out around Valentine's Day of 2015, just

like Deadpool came out in 2016 around Valentine's

Day. And hey, they got a villain named Valentine,

so it's kind of fitting. So you get your violence

and your Valentine at the same time. Ah, that

was a bad pun. So yeah, I really, I can't say

enough. Good things about the film And I'm wondering

you mentioned earlier about Kingsman the Golden

Circle, which is actually really funny It's the

sequel to the Kingsman the Secret Service, but

Kingsman the Golden Circle I so did not plan

this folks, but we are recording this June 14th

2016 the Kingsman sequel is set to be released

on June 16th 2017 so you're one year away from

the sequel. And Matthew Vaughn looks like he

may be directing again. And then you've got Tarrant

Egerton playing Eggsy again. You've got Mark

Strong playing Merlin again. And you've got Sophie

Cookson playing Roxy again. And then everybody

else is new. Like they got Elton John in the

movie. They've got the dude. They got Jeff Bridges,

doesn't have a name for him. They got Halle Berry

in it, Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum. Colin

Firth is rumored, but that could just be a flashback.

Could be. Or it could be a hologram recording

that he left, which could be pretty well. Because

unless they have some explanation for that, I

don't see how they could have him back unless

like, oh, yes, we had a clone or it's my brother.

And when I what I think I'm gonna like about

the sequel is that they're basically mixing it

up because it says that the Julianne Moore character

Poppy is going to be the main villain so now

you have a female villain like in the first movie

you had Valentine and and all that was Samuel

Jackson and now you're basically switching it

up and you know putting them against a female

villain according to and again as we all know

Wikipedia is not exactly the most accurate thing

but the according to what I was going to say

the funny thing about the Golden Circle posters

that it says is because it's very bright. It

has to do with Southerners, which is probably

why they have Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore.

And then they're going to have the British. So

you've got some of the tag lines on the posters

say the only Golden Circle I want vexing me is

the one my glass leaves behind on the table,

which would be the British. And then the other

one is from the southern side of mine. My mama

always told me the British gave us a Southern

as good manners. And then there's another one

that says, reports of my death have been greatly

exaggerated. Now, maybe that is the way, you

know, maybe they're gonna, you know, life model

decoy calling for its character. Well, he was

shot through the eye. I know. And on this poster

that says the death's greatly exaggerated, there's

sunglasses with one eyeglass. that's black, and

the other one is clear. So I'm wondering if he

ain't dead. He's just. Yeah, it's Hollywood.

They'll find a way to bring him back if they

really want to bring him back. Well, he's on

set anyway on a shot, so. So. What I was saying

with Wikipedia, take it with a great grain of

salt, on here they do have a general premise.

Eggsy and Merlin head to the U .S. to join forces

with the Statesmen, their American counterpart

after the Kingsman headquarters is destroyed

by the notorious mastermind called Poppy. So,

I think that's gonna be really cool, basically

having the British Secret Service people come

to America. And it's, I wonder how much of a

James Bond influence they're going to take with

this sequel. I mean, the first movie is fine.

It's great. And they specifically show you various

things that could be a James Bond movie, but

they also sit there and tell you, hey, this isn't

a James Bond movie. So it's going to be interesting

to see how they do all that with coming to the

US. Will you see the sequel in theaters? I'm

going to try. Being that it's around my birthday,

I'm not entirely sure. But I will, that's definitely

one I would like to see in the theaters. Because

I enjoyed the first one so much. The other thing

that I wanted to bring up before we close this

out is the score by Henry Jackman and Matthew

Margeson. I actually wrote up a review for this

for LawnLine Records. last year when it came

out, and going back and listening to the music,

and I probably should have sent this to you beforehand,

I forgot to do it, the music in this, that's

another thing that made this movie so unique

to me, is Jackman and Margeson's score. Because

if you listen to the Valentine theme, that's

gonna be the most epically eerie villain theme

I've heard in at least 10 years. It's just it

has this this weird Eerie I don't want to say

flute but it it's some sort of woodwind instrument

that just sounds really really Creepy and I absolutely

love the score. I think the score is gonna be

great. I'm hoping I don't know, because I've

already got that link closed. I'm hoping the

Golden Circle, I hope they bring Jackman and

Margeson back for the score for the sequel, because

the music in this first film was just epic. Yes,

I agree with you though. I'm so like tongue -tied

on my interest on this movie that it's just...

Hard for me to articulate words it I I there's

very few films that I enjoy enough that I could

watch them innumerable times But this is one

that I I can't say anything bad about Which I

try to find something wrong with about every

film I watch because I don't want to be that

guy That's like yeah every movie is great Mean

the only okay if I'm really gonna nitpick it

and I know they were doing this to reference

and to kind of make fun of a couple of Bond villains

the only thing that kind of Even though it was

cool as hell that kind of egged me a little bit

and kind of just kind of gonna get just a little

bit was was the chick with the feet and i'm like

seriously this is how you're going to homage

odd job and jaws and all i'm like oh god and

she sliced a dude in half at the beginning that's

not like that yeah she sliced oh god she she

sliced a dude in half lengthways she got uh the

commodore from uh pirates of the caribbean in

half oh my god just just so wrong Alright folks,

we're gonna take a quick break, come back to

close the show, give our ratings on the film,

and tell you what's coming up next on M -Wire.

We'll be back after this. You know what? Fuck

it. We need to speed things up. Bring the product

release forward. We're only halfway into production.

Speeding it will cost a fortune. Do I look like

I give a fuck? Just get it done. Hello geeks

That's not much of a lead. There's millions of

employers worldwide. Now, Richmond Valentine

is a genius. Did you not see his announcement

today? No. We each spend on average $2 ,000 a

year on cell phone and internet usage. It gives

me great pleasure to announce those days are

over. As of tomorrow, every man, woman, and child

can claim a free SIM card compatible with any

cell phone, any computer. and utilize my communications

network for free. Free calls, free internet for

everyone. Forever. All right, folks, we are back

here on Movie Week in Review. This is episode

128. What would you give Kingsman the Secret

Service zero to five stars? I pull an old joke

from old GCRN days, but a five a freaking five

Like a ten a freaking ten yeah ten and then Good

old Billy Bob. We gotta do varsity blues one

of these days. I love that movie. Yeah, you have

fun with that. Oh Come on. I ain't watching it.

It's Yeah, you and your clean parenting podcasting

thing now. Yeah, it's not even about that anymore.

It's just I don't want to watch like filthy movies

anymore. It's not even that. It's more of a teenager

-ish film than filthy. It's a filthy movie. It's

got teenagers in it. Those whippersnappers. I'm

getting old. You're getting old you're only 30

I My taste in films have greatly been changed

over the last few years I'm six years older than

you and I still enjoy certain films and really

honestly come on varsity blues and I'm sure now

it doesn't matter to you But come on back in

the day that whipped cream bikini come on Anyway,

yeah, that's so it's over my head, dude The Kingsman

the Secret Service, so you're giving it a five.

I'm also going to give it a five. I tried to

find anything wrong with this movie, and I just

couldn't. It was just so cool, just so great.

Coming up on MWIRE, coming up next time, we've

got episode 129, which is myself and movie revolt

Dan talking about the Shawshank Redemption. What?

Yeah, what? That's a good movie. Yes, yes it

is So that's gonna be coming up in about a week

or so After that, I think Doug Abel is gonna

join me and we are going to go through 20 years

of Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible So they're

gonna watch Tom Cruise in the Smurfs No He's

gonna be in the new Smurfs movie I'm joking.

I just want to see if you don't Don't do he is

gonna be in the mummy The Mummy remake. I'm not

lying about that. Look forward to that coming

from Universal Studios next year. What else does

Universal have? I mean, come on. Monster movies?

Yeah, that's it. That's all they got. We lost

everything else. Yeah, the next two episodes

of MWIRE, episode 129 will be Shawshank Redemption,

episode 130 will be 20 years of Mission Impossible.

The films, not the TV series, because the TV

series is older than that. We'll be talking about

all five films, the music, all that good stuff

and everything else. So that's what's coming

up here on MWIRE. After that, we're going to

go on a slight hiatus and we're going to come

back and do some more movies and all that good

stuff at some point early 2017, I think. so taking

a little break but I've just been doing way too

much like originally I had planned to take three

trips out to California to see Jen the first

trip we decided to postpone just due to issues

and and everything else with with technicality

and all that crap and whatever else so I'm sitting

here you know trying to get all this stuff ready

Before I go on this trip and then we decide to

postpone and I'm like, oh crap I've been working

so hard and so fast and doing all this stuff

and Like I just kind of can't slow down even

though I need to so so yeah We got one more episode

to record for M wire. You'll have 129 next week

and After that, when we do come back in 2017,

I'm pretty much under the same mandate that I

put myself under last time. We're going to be

bringing you movies that we have never been able

to bring you at this point. I do know some of

them. We're going to have an episode next year

on the Expendables. We're going to have an episode

on the Karate Kid movies. We're going to have

Rocky, Rambo. All that good stuff is coming next

year for MWIRE. Really quickly, before we get

out of here, what have you got going on? Of course,

a lot of stuff on Altered Geek. This week, we've

got E3 stuff and video games. Also, I've been

doing some Altered Geek videos and a conversation

about my screenplay, Altered Generations. Cool.
