About this Episode

We break down the inaugural AEW events Double or Nothing and Fyter Fest, discussing the high production values, the focus on diverse talent, and the promotion's emphasis on tag team wrestling. We share our thoughts on the Casino Battle Royal, the impressive match quality compared to the current WWE product, and the impact of seeing stars like Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho in a new environment. We also touch on the challenges of learning a new roster and how AEW’s approach to storytelling differs from what we've been accustomed to in mainstream wrestling.

My taxi is free now! One more please. You know

what I'm saying now? Is that like now now or

more of a put the foot down now? It's just now.

My taxi is free now! That's too much. Let me

try that again. My taxi is free now! Something's

still not working. What's my motivation? We've

been having this conversation for four hours.

How about a Victorian street urchin like, my

taxi's free now! Okay, I got it. Free now. Simply

update my taxi. Who is your belief and your passion?

Cody and the Young Bucks are on fire! I am Chris

Jericho, baby! Goodbye! Does it get any bigger

than Kenny Omega versus Chris Jericho? Hi, I'm

Dr. Bernard O'Shea. This is a health warning.

Anyone attending this year's Vodafone Comedy

Festival in the Ivy Gardens may suffer, stitches,

weakness and a splitting of the sides. So if

you think you can handle over 130 of the world's

best comedians, come along to the Vodafone Comedy

do any wrong. You guys just wanna party just

like each and every one of us. God, it's so cool

to see 20 ,000 people. It's not. This building

holds like 13 ,000 people. It's not This is pro

wrestling you round up Well, we just set the

attendance record for the MGM grand with 20 ,000

Hello and welcome to ma 'am Mike's this is episode

52. I am of course TFG1 Mike And then even flow

Merkley is out. He's out in some other territory

We don't know where exactly somewhere up there

in the great white north. I am joined by Alex

the What the hell are you calling yourself now?

more important Be more important Wow, I like

And you're really taking lessons from optimus

solo there because he has that kind of ego to

damn I can still talk like Ryan, if you really.

Stop it. The chameleon. I don't know. We'll figure

it out as we go. So for the past four years off

and on, Mike Dodd and I have done all WWE content

here on Mayhem Mikes under the GeekCast Radio

Network and this week in Geek Banners. This is

the first episode that we're not doing that,

and Mike isn't here. Mike hasn't been here since

episode 34, which was WrestleMania 34, which

was a year ago. He tried to twist his arm to

come on here, but it didn't really work. Oh boy.

There's like, there's always been wrestling,

other wrestling promotions other than WWE, WWF,

whatever you want to say. You got Ring of Honor,

you got TNA, you've got whatever other thing.

But it's all because of a little guy named Dean

Ambrose that AEW, I mean, it's more than just

him, but. That's the reason why I noticed it

was because of John Moxley, John, Jonathan Good,

whatever you want to call him, whatever real

name, ring name, whatever Dean Ambrose. Uh, you

know, he left WWE and he released this little

video of the John Moxley character. And then

it was announced that he was has a multi -year

deal at All Elite Wrestling at EW, which is run

by Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks.

I'm like, hmm, okay, I'll follow John. That's

cool. That works. And then I know, hey, look,

oh, look, there's Chris Jericho too. Yeah, and

maybe some other faces you might have seen had

you been following him. I haven't seen, we'll

get into this in a little while, but I haven't

seen Tommy Dreamer since he tried to come back

to WWE about three years ago. So you see some

of those people or you see, um, uh, who is it?

Uh, Oh, why am I drawing a Billy gun? The gun.

Yep. Um, you see basically anybody that got pissed

off and either was fired or quit or, uh, maybe

got popped for a steroid use at WWE in the last

couple of years, you know, that are experienced

and then a whole bunch of really talented people

from other companies that WWE just. either didn't

want didn't see the need for or you know didn't

get a chance to grab up. Other thing you got

to kind of keep straight too is is what they're

doing right now is they have a lot of relationships

with other independent organizations etc so not

everybody that has appeared on their you know

show so far is technically On their roster. So

I mean they are inviting multiple people from

different groups like Tommy Tommy dreamers not

technically on the roster I don't know if he

has a backstage role or something of that nature

but there was a lot of people especially like

if you take the Battle royal that we'll talk

about that happen at double nut or nothing like

a lot of those people are not technically AEW

Like like Billy Gunn is he's not an active wrestler

on the roster. He's actually talent relations

Right, so you'll see a lot of those guys that

show up and they'll do these sorts of matches

like those The one -offs the battle royals and

that but reality is they're actually managing

all the people behind the scenes Right or some

of them might be getting you know Like a almost

an audition in some of these matches or again

like like has been happening since the end You

know since the beginning of wrestling building

relationships with whatever organization you're

building a relationship with talent trade swaps

and stuff like that is probably Something that's

been going on as well And because this is Kevin's

first episode on this specific show on the geek

cast radio network When did you first start watching

wrestling and what like are you WWE or are you?

how did all that come about and You ever start

and then stop and then start again or that kind

of stuff Yeah, then the wrestling fans. That's

almost as long as I can remember. I grew up in

watching the Probably 1980 1987 ish 1988 1989.

Those three years were probably like my introduction

to wrestling. I was a humongous macho man fan

as a little child. He was definitely my favorite

wrestler for years and years. But I remember

seeing I didn't watch much at home in the beginning.

that time but I remember we basically had a neighborhood

where I could go down about a block or two and

we basically had five households that had children

that were my ages so all of us guys would hang

around and you know play sports and do different

different stuff and I know the one friends that

we had there was a set of brothers and they used

to get the pay -per -view every um at that time

three times a year um or what would eventually

kind of be four or five times for the most of

my childhood um and they would get it and all

of us would go over there and watch it i remember

playing wwf superstars for the whatever nintendo

system that was before uh The Royal Rumble came

out, the Royal Rumble used to be like the game

we would rent every time we got together because

it was a lot of fun. We would always try, because

you start with two players and one person would

stand on one side of the ropes and the other

person would stand on the other. And then you

would just throw the people that came in over

to the other people and hip toss them out until

it was the two of you at the end. That was the

not fun way to play it, but we thought it was

fun at the time. But yeah, I was big time into

WWF for a long time until Sometime in the early

90s, which I think is fair for what happened

with a lot of people early 90s I kind of faded

away a little bit early to mid 90s cuz that was

by then You know Hulk Hogan and Macho Man and

all them were not really part of it They were

in trying to introduce some new people that I

wasn't a big fan of They were given big pushes

to people like Bret Hart who I was not a huge

fan of at the time So I kind of faded away a

little bit got involved with you know Probably

middle school sports and stuff like that And

then I remember I would sometimes still check

on raw every once in a while on Monday nights

and whatnot I actually used to record them But

while I was not really paying attention to I

must have swung by at some point and started

Checking out WCW just a little bit just to kind

of see what was going on there And that was right

around the time obviously that NWL came about

so then I was a huge WCW fan for about Four years

three years something of that nature I didn't

like the WWF attitude era. I was not a huge fan

of that not big on You know what they were doing

with all the Vince Russo type stuff. I'll say

So I much preferred the WCW product, but obviously

that also went off the deep end once Vince Russo

got involved with that, too You can tell I'm

not a big Vince Russo fan. And then I completely,

after the NWO and WCW was sold, I stopped watching

wrestling entirely. And then kind of saw little

bits and pieces here and there and then kind

of got really back into it by watching, starting

to watch the WWE, excuse me, pay per views that

have happened over the last. probably two years.

That's kind of how I've gotten into it. I don't

watch Raw, I don't watch SmackDown, I don't have

that many hours of free time in my day. And the

WWE Network does not allow you to watch them

unless you watch them live, and I cannot watch

them live. So I just don't watch them because

I don't want to. This one thing I don't get,

like, okay, so this is for Kevin more so than

anybody else because everybody else who's listened

to this podcast for the last four years knows

this. Well, they're on TV. I don't understand

that you're paying 10 bucks a month or whatever

it is per year in total For WWE Network. I they

don't I know why it's because of how I watch

them actually now I can either DVR them on on

I'm cast or Xfinity or whatever It's called I

can watch the cut down recaps on Hulu. It's because

they have that TV deal with Hulu not full shows,

but for the edited versions of the shows. That's

why they're not on WWE Network, which is, it's

kind of, it's... It's kind of stupid when you

think about it, but it also kind of works too,

I guess. I don't know. Yeah. And it's not the

only reason I don't watch the shows. I mean,

if you were watching the pay -per -views, which

are happening way too often now with like basically

every month, at least one, which is one of my

biggest gripes of wrestling in the last 20 years.

But between that and like the five hours of television

product that seems like that's out there, especially

if you're watching NXT and you're watching all

the other things, it's just too much to keep

up with for me as far as time goes. So I probably

wouldn't do it anyways. But if they did have

it just on like, Hey, maybe I can't watch Monday

Night Raw on Monday, but like by Tuesday or Wednesday,

they had it on the network. I would maybe check

it out, but I'm not going to wait a month and

a half by that point. It's they've already had

a pay -per -view. So that stuff is, but then

obviously I got Oh, sorry. I got big time into

listening to podcasts. I was listening to only

movie podcasts and then I got into listening

to wrestling podcasts I think I started with

Stone Cold's maybe I had listened to the earlier

version of Jim Ross's for a little bit then I

got into Xbox and They were all okay, but they

weren't really giving me what I wanted and then

I got on to Conrad Thompson's series of podcasts

with Eric Bischoff and Bruce Prichard and now

Jim Ross and those are so fantastic that I've

literally almost I think I haven't quite listened

to every single one of something to wrestle with

but I've seen I've listened to every one of girl

and with girl and JR and every 83 weeks episode

and it kind of really got me back into wanting

to pay attention to wrestling and I have been

keeping up with AEW rumors since before they

even had anything. And I've been really excited

to finally get to see what they had to do. And

I'm very excited for October to come and to see

what they do with what they're putting out there

as a, cause right now there's a lot, let's just

say there's a lot lacking in WWE that I know

they're trying to fix. We'll see what AEW does.

So, yeah, exactly. And it's interesting to see

what they give, what WWE gives to Hulu because

Raw on Hulu the day after is half of what the

actual, it's an hour and 30 minutes or less.

So it's so interesting to compare and contrast

the two to see what is cut out and what isn't.

Um, it's basically the same. If you were to,

uh, like PVR it and remove all the commercials,

it's the same length. They might pare down a

little bit here and there, or the things that

somebody swore or if somebody did something in

the audience that was vulgar or they cut out,

if there's like blood or something, but for the

most part, it's like they have way too many commercials

in this day and age. Yeah. Yeah. And I think

that's, and I'm kind of glad that they leave

this and we'll talk about this when we get to

AEW fully, when we talk about Double or Nothing

and Fighter Fest. JR is not, JR is not Michael

Cole. JR is not Tom Phillips. JR is not Byron

Saxton. JR is fucking JR. You don't have him

advertising for Rocket League or whatever. You

don't like, he hates doing that. So. I love that

he is now at AEW. I just wish AEW would figure

out the rest of the commentary and we'll get

to that further. Um, let's see. So Alex, run

down the numbers for these things, like paid,

not paid, like I know fighter fest was free,

but doubler nothing was what, bucks? I guess

it depends on your region, but generally it was,

I think 50 bucks or so. give or take. It was

cheaper if you didn't go through traditional

pay -per -view and you went through the fight

TV app, uh, cause you could get a discount for

like, I think 30, 30 ish or so American 35, 40

Canadian. So about just about half of what a

traditional pay -per -view for WWE costs. If

you don't, don't have the ability to get the

network or can't, uh, you couldn't get it that

way. You could not watch it through. Um, I couldn't

watch it through fight. Where I was I had no

ahead it wasn't it strictly wasn't available.

You had to do the bleacher report Or the bleacher

be our live even for for a double or nothing

Yeah You have double or nothing I thought because

I downloaded the fight app and I got everything

ready and then I was like searching for it and

searching for it and Couldn't find it and then

I had to look online and it said that in the

United States you had to do be our live Okay,

cuz yeah see up here the fight app is I think

partially Canadian owned and they might be pushing

it through that. For everything else, Bleacher

Report works here as well, but I know that doesn't

work at all in Europe. or asia or anything it's

all that was a little confusing at first because

of how they advertised it so i was a little confused

when i was going to try to make the you know

get everything set up on the tv screen and whatnot

and i was struggling for a minute but yeah then

i finally figured out it was uh fight in canada

or in br live in the u .s and then obviously

you had the youtube for the first part or your

traditional cable provider for some of it So

we are talking about Double or Nothing and Fighter

Fest tonight. We're going to talk about both

of them so that way we can get caught up. Fight

for the Fallen and All Out are the next two events

after these two. Yeah, Fight for the Fallen is

going to be another free one. Again, free for

North America only on the Bleacher Report site.

The rest of the world will have to pay I think

20 or 30 bucks or so. And then All Out is going

to be one of their big flag tent pole events,

so I think that's going to be a full price one.

They said that they're going to do basically

three or four of those a year. And then if they

do any other special events, they're either going

to be cheaper or free and then you got their

TV. So they're not going to do the WWE 12 events

or 14 events a year. Ladies and gentlemen, brace

yourselves. Regularly scheduled program. We are

all good. Nothing changed. So double or nothing.

We have nine matches in this, which includes

the, uh, the 21 man casino battle royal, which

is on the pre show. Um, My favorite bits about

the overall pay -per -view were when they basically

made fun of the attendance. It was hilarious.

I thought that was funny as hell. And when Moxley

showed up, I liked other stuff. Because again,

these are all new people to me outside of Moxley

and Chris Jericho and all the other ones. But

like these people on this thing are all new to

me. You guys have any specific favorites before

we get into Actual matches. Did you have any

how did you feel about the overall presentation?

For nothing. I'll just a couple points one This

had fantastic production values for like as far

as the lighting the camera work It did really

feel like the either the closest to or equal

to the WWE when it comes to production as far

as things that stood out that battle royal as

much as there's parts of me that are like this

is amazing and parts of me are like this is kind

of hokey so i did like uh that mjf guy he's fantastic

he's going to be a pretty cool heel um you know

just mocking the crowd just he's basically like

what if the miss wasn't tiny and then um it was

cool seeing um some people that i had seen from

like impact wrestling show up but Uh, seeing

some of the, the legends sort of show up in the

battle royal, the beginning, uh, the Cody Rhodes,

uh, and Dustin Rhodes battle was probably the

best match I've seen in five years, at least

from like, uh, like a U S based promotion on

pay -per -view. Uh, and that's has nothing to

do with how bloody it got. We'll get to that

later, but just how it was presented. It was

better than anything that WWE has done since

they launched the network. since like 2013. Yeah,

I agree with that. I mean, the from quality from

top to bottom was pretty stellar. The pre show

was the pre show, so I wasn't sure how serious

to take it, especially the most battle royals

are kind of cheesy in a way, especially. I mean,

I guess they took it a little bit different because

you have basically every three minutes five.

wrestlers entered. So that was kind of an interesting

way to do it compared to what we are used to

maybe with like a WWE product and stuff like

that. But I was the same as Alex, where some

of it was a little bit like, ah, like I know

Mike, you had some comments about the cigarettes

and stuff like that with whatchamacallit. But

I thought it was interesting. I thought it was

a good way to have a mix of some of the people

we're familiar with, a mix of some of the independent

people we should be familiar with, and then a

mix of some people that We probably wouldn't

know anything about so I mean obviously you get

Tommy dreamer in there you get Billy gun you

get a fat glacier in there and Some people like

that you get Brian Pillman's son So that was

kind of cool. You get 90210 boys son What's the

guy for areas? Perry's son Yeah. Um, so I mean

that stuff was cool. And then as some people

that you just know about through, you know, the

independent circuit, like a Jimmy Havoc or a

Joey Janela or, you know, different things like

that. So, um, I thought it was a good collection,

but it was a little bit, it seemed like it wasn't

quite the same as the rest of what happened after.

Yeah. It seemed a little like if you, if you

listened to a lot of the podcasts, the old time

wrestlers that get pissed at a lot of the indie

stuff being too jokey. It was a bit of that like

the the cigarette on the head. It wasn't even

shown on camera properly There are some stuff

like that where it's like Joey Janela. Here's

what I know of him like two years ago there was

a local promotion that put on something here

in town and Scott Steiner was Fighting him and

he did something that Scott Steiner didn't like.

I don't remember exactly what like for real.

So Scott Steiner proceeded to just basically

kick him in the face a whole bunch of times and

then walked away and then said, fuck you, you're

unprofessional. So ever since then, that's been

the painting in my head of Joey Janela. So, and

then he just, he looks like your neighbor. You

know what I mean? Like in my mind, either get

really in shape or get really fat, but you can't

be anywhere really in between, or you just sort

of blend into the crowd. we become part of Raven's

flock. I have no problem with them having like

super crazy out of this world diverse you know

you might have they have a dinosaur uh like luchador

rest one of my favorite people so far you know

i mean like they have you can have that sort

of stuff you just have you just have to know

they're not going to be champions they're just

there for the fun So I don't have a problem with

that I have a problem when it's too much happening

and I felt they had a little too much going on

But they wanted to show off like look at all

the diverse characters we have in this I mean

if you look at it they I mean obviously yeah,

you have a whole bunch of different you have

somebody with no legs Blanket on the name you

have obviously the the trans representation there

So I mean there is a lot of different stuff they

threw in there And I think that was somewhat

to make a statement like this is us We're not

afraid of what your background is or what you

know, whatever we're gonna include everybody

type thing So I think that was a cool statement,

but I think some of the bits were a little bit

like But Lutasaurus like I think he could be

a champion like I think that guy's legit like

he's huge. Yeah tag champion I don't think you're

not you're not gonna make somebody like that

your main technically was a part of NXT in its

early goings on but Had some type of I believe

it was a hip injury very early on in his time

and was released I think was back like 2014 or

so so it's interesting to see him kind of getting

a chance now yeah and like this is the that's

the only match that the thing is i have a problem

with if you're trying to get people to buy in

that was like what they call their pre -show

the buy -in if you're trying to get people to

buy into it you may not want to show the match

that looks the most vince russo like right at

the beginning but at the other match was perfect

for it though yeah i still thought it was awesome

i just didn't think it was necessarily the right

look for their first one i agree that being said

like out of all them in there Hangman's great

and MJF is going to be probably pretty big because

he's a better talker than like 99 % of the people

at WWE or then again, he's allowed to say whatever

he wants. And he had the second most eliminations

to about side of Luchasaurus. They each had three

and four eliminations. So I don't think that's

by coincidence. Oh, not at all. And the other

difference at least, well, obviously not just

for me, but for everybody just I've been watching

WWE for Since 2007 now we've been podcasting

since 2015 So until recently and we'll talk about

this later as well It's been a PG product like

there isn't anybody that like half the stuff

that they did in this first, um, like Don't dislike

the cigarette thing. I was just kind of shocked

at it. I'm like Okay, sure, you know the way

they should have they should have showed it happening

not exactly It just looked like it was laying

on his head They didn't zoom in enough right

if you're gonna go that far go all the way There's

almost I don't know ECW ish from its early days

And like they're out. Okay, not counting the

battle royal every other match At the time they're

outside of the ring because they have this ten

count back in the ring thing Now instead of a

five counter, whatever it is that WWE uses, but

most of the matches, half of them were outside

of the ring most of the time, not all the time,

but a good majority. It was a very different,

like Alex was saying earlier, how it's on par

with the WWE product visually, but it's also

basically WWE is stadium wrestling. This is almost

like just above being backyard wrestling. It's

like what if TNA was run competently around 2007?

Yeah injected a crap ton of money with the talent

they had then Much after I think though Like

what Alex was talking about how maybe the battle

royal wasn't going to be you're like, hey, we're

going to give you a sneak preview. If you like

this, check out the rest of the card because

you're going to get more like that. I think the

battle royal was wrong for that. But I do think

the second match with Kip Sabian and Sammy Guevara,

that was definitely a good a better glimpse of

what you're about to get. So I do think that

that was a good pre -match to have because that

was when I saw that, I was like, oh, this is

about to be real good. for the rest of the time

like so and they haven't announced like a like

a middleweight or a cruiser or anything so i'm

assuming they're going to be announcing more

titles soon because they have like they can't

have everybody fighting for uh just the the world

heavyweight unless they have like a tv championship

or something close to that but i would see like

those kind of matches are going to be cool Yeah,

my only other complaint from just kind of not

going into any of the matches yet But just kind

of on a certain on a more of a broad thing and

I know this might be to get more people involved

But they really there's only three singles matches

on this card So I was a little taken aback by

how many Whether it would be a sixth man tag

or six woman tag or a tag or a fatal four like

all those types of things I was like is this

gonna be something that they're gonna rely on

too much compared to just giving us some traditional

matches I'm not I didn't it didn't bother me

overall, but it was just a thought that I had

kind of fleeting You know as I was watching it

I know Tony Khan the like the owner went into

detail on it even before the show started it

was going to be a Showcase for everybody. They

had currently signed right so they still have

some people that maybe haven't premiered yet

But they wanted to get everybody in there. And

they also made a big statement about how tag

team wrestling in the States, they're basically

pointing fingers at WWE has been absolute shit

lately. So they really want to promote that they're,

they're going to be like a tag team territory.

Not that that's going to be the only thing, but

they're focused on it. It does seem like it's

one of like, I don't know if they have like,

let's say they're operating commandments or something

like that, but like they have like certain things

that they're really focusing on. One of them

was being tag teams. Like you said, one of them

is being a not necessarily rated PG and the other

is just. pure athleticism and they wanted to

be more athletic than than most other companies

that are out there. So it seems like those are

three of the things that they are. And obviously

that we talked about being really inclusive of

all different types of wrestlers. So I think

that's something we're going to see more of.

We're going to see more tag matches, but I just

because maybe I'm. not used to it. Um, just from

how I've been brought up with wrestling that

I was like, Ooh, here's a, you know, a pay review.

And like every single one of them is some sort

of like multiple person thing, but that is about

the only way that they could have highlighted

that many people. And don't forget WWE their

roster is so thin because of either injury or

just people aren't that talented on the main

roster in some cases. Well, and Vince doesn't

like tag teams. Exactly. He's not, he doesn't

like tag teams unless they are fucking giants.

You know, the road warriors like, yeah, he would

be high on like the authors of pain, but they

get injured too much. So it's just not really

a priority this way. They could get everybody

in and you know, I hope that they don't do this

many tag teams think things in the future, but

it was kind of cool because there are a lot of

people that we really had no idea and they did

a good job of sort of peppering in like Indie

people that you may have heard of but not seen

You know in with people you've never heard of

so that it would get you at least interested

to look at it That's like like their first match

on the actual paper review not to get ahead mike

But um, you know socal uncensored versus the

strong hearts strong hearts are going to be more

You know this international flavor independent

wrestlers that you might have heard of you might

not have but you probably haven't seen a lot

of their matches whereas socal uncensored, um,

even those people that don't know Scorpio Sky,

Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian should

be known by a lot of people. Um, they've been

around doing a lot of stuff, whether it be for,

um, you know, uh, TNA or whether it be for WWE

or wherever. There's footage of, uh, of Christopher

Daniels when he had a mullet wrestling for WWE

and like, I think WCW in the midnight. So I think

he's been around 25 years. So that was a good

way. And I think the thing with this with this

card for double or nothing like you guys have

already said was them basically showing off the

fact that multiple forms of wrestling can be

shown a good way. actually work unlike what Vince

always assumes or what that Vince doesn't like

or whatever back on WWE like I don't remember

a pay -per -view in the last four years that

had this many different matches even though the

six man and the six woman still something that

happens all the time I don't know like the last

time we saw two two or three different really

good tag team matches On anything that were really

good and both of the tag matches best friends

versus Jaleco and Jack Evans and then The Young

Bucks versus Butcher Brothers, I don't remember

tag matches being that good in a long time WwE

anyway WwE wasn't looking for them. So they were

all getting snatched up by like AAA in Mexico

or New Japan ring of honor. It's just it's not

been a focus of theirs. Like the only matches

that where you have multi man teams that were

popular really like in WWE have been Survivor

Series. That's it. Even they haven't been the

greatest in the last couple years. Yeah, I asked

a quick question before I get too much further

into the card Something else that they I thought

they did a really good job with just as a company

was heading up to double or nothing I was curious

did either of you guys watch all of their YouTube

a little I guess they called them episodes They

had about I don't know 10 of them or something

15. They had less than 15 I think but they had

these little like 1 2 3 4 minute 5 minute clips

almost Reminiscent of the old vignettes that

they used to produce at WWE where they would

introduce a new character They would show you

all these different like little things but I

thought they did a fantastic job of Previewing

some of the things because what they were dealing

with is a hard situation because they're putting

on a pay -per -view That's gonna include people

that a lot of people don't know anything about

so they had to try to get some type of stakes

or some type of storytelling or some type of

momentum going into something that nobody you

know they didn't have the tv shows or the other

pay -per -views before that to lead up to it

so i thought those youtube series of videos was

really cool well i watched a couple but you know

why that they were cool like that the guy producing

them uh i might be wrong i think the name class

name is lagana or something uh was the guy that

produced them all for wwe in the late 90s and

ended up going to become a I think a director

at TNA for a little bit and then had left due

to creative differences and is now the head person

producing all their videos. But they do a really

good job with those videos I think that's another

thing that's been attracting a lot of the wrestlers

to AEW is because of another dig at WWF or WWE

is that not everything is scripted you're able

to go and do your own thing like what I was talking

about in the Jericho interview and the other

interview that he did like, you know, I can go

and John Roxley I can go and record like four

or five different vignettes or clips or shots

and I in so much less time and I can be myself

and be creative and I think that's something

that a lot of people are yearning for Yeah. Sorry,

but think about this. You think that anything

MJF said would ever be okay at WWE at all anymore?

No. It would be very scripted. They can say whatever

they want. Now, they can say what they want on

the pay -per -views, but there will be some standards

they have to follow on TV. With that being said,

they've already said that they're not scripting

anybody. They get to say basically whatever they

want. We'll be good. That'll be good, yeah. No,

I knew about them. I just, I wanted to go into

this cold because I wanted to see what the product

was. I didn't want really any kind of previews

or anything. I wanted to go in and see if I,

again, outside of Moxley, outside of Cody and

Dustin, outside of the Young Bucks and Jericho

and Omega, I wanted to watch Kip Sabian versus

Sammy Guevara and see if, like, Same thing with

NXT when I've watched a few things that I've

watched of NXT. I wanted to see if I could go

in cold and see if I like this guy over this

guy or I like that guy over that guy or that

woman over that woman or whatever kind of a thing.

I like that they do that. I think that is super

cool. Again, to give people information about

the characters and to give people a little teaser

like you said. I had to go into this cold because

I needed something refreshing from the dullness

that is the WWE. And, you know, you're talking

about how scripted things are, Alex. Well, I

think Corey Graves' holy shit was scripted in

the recent RAW that that happened, thank God.

WWE is like, oh we need the teenage audience

again. Oops. Let's hire Paul Heyman and Eric

Bischoff back Yeah, and and hey, you know what?

Let's plan Let's say one shit and see if it makes

a makes the news and because it's it made the

news Yeah, and it was it was scripted for him.

So I would suggest anybody that hasn't watched

those videos just to go back and watch a few

of them just to see some of the stuff in there

because it really does lend to the Creativeness

that's going on creativity They're doing it too

for every one of the pay -per -views. You can

watch The Road to Diaries once a week, and they're

not hard to watch. You watch them on your phone.

They're 10, 15 minutes at the most, and it does

more to prep you than I would say like Raw or

SmackDown does. And I would just anticipate that

that's going to happen at least until October,

if not even further on, because it's just a way

to also engage today's... Viewership like how

we consume media and how we consume entertainment

and not have to wait to see something on TV You're

necessarily do that type of stuff. You can put

a video like that out there and boom It's out

for everybody to watch and and can hype up something.

So I think they're being smart with that Absolutely,

so the main match that started it all as we said

was SCU Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian

and the Scorpio Sky versus the Stronghearts,

Sema, T -Hawk, and L. Lindemann. This was, again,

because it's a completely different product and

they're doing more than WWE ever would consider

doing now. This was probably one of the best

six -man matches I've seen in a long time. It

far exceeded my expectations because I know how

old Christopher Daniels is and Frankie Kazarian

not old I guess but like they're not as young

as a lot of these people are and I was like Oh,

what are we gonna get here and this one far exceeded

my expectations the other thing that I think

is real good about this match and I'll basically

the whole card is Look at the duration of all

the different matches There is no four minute,

six minute, three minute, eight minute match.

Like you get a lot on pay -per -views with WWE

because they just have to do it real quick or

do something like all of the main, you know,

the, the first half of the card or the undercard,

I guess you could say they're all 10, 11, 12,

13 minutes. And then the main event card, 22,

24, 27. Like that is a good way to go about doing

that. Yeah, absolutely. And it's been a while

since I saw Kazarian and like the guy's in his

40s he looks great and he reminds me of like

what if randy orton cared that's pretty much

how he performs right right and christopher daniels

is like turning 50 right and he's performing

better than guys in their 20s just for daniels

the thing that worried about that worried me

because i knew he was uh kind of a big guy behind

the scenes and he was in a lot of the you know

some of the planning and this that and the other

so i was like oh no like is this all going to

be like you know we already know that that cody's

you know the VP and the Young Bucks and Kenny

Omega and they're all wrestling and now I know

Christopher Daniels is behind the scenes and

he's gonna be like it started to get a little

bit worrisome because I'm like how are they gonna

book all this stuff when they're all involved

but I think they did it well so far yeah and

I think Christopher Daniels is like the head

trainer yeah that's his title so he'll do these

sorts of events but you don't plan on seeing

him probably on the main TV show every week He'll

be like, it'll be similar to, you know, show

up for a quick two minute match and then put

somebody over or maybe win against a jobber and

that's it. I think he would, he's, I know he's

already a part of this, you know, the Soquel

Uncentered and whatnot, but he would be a great,

also like a leader of a, of some type of like

little faction or something like that of like

a larger, not like four horsemen necessarily,

but like something like that. I think he would

be great in that role. Absolutely. Uh, the next

match we had was Dr. Britt Baker, DMD versus

Nyla Rose, Kylie Rae, and Awesome Kong. Isn't

Kylie Rae part of Divas search? The, um, the

Mae Young classic. I swear I've seen her WWE

before. Probably wrong, but she hasn't, she not

according to any of this information. He's been

in a lot of other stuff, but it doesn't show

anything as far as any connection with WWE Anyway,

I thought the interesting thing about this obviously

this was a big reveal for Awesome Kong Being

involved in the match they kind of tease that

then tease that it was kind of It seemed like

I don't know if you guys picked up on this or

not. Maybe you Alex but seemed like they might

have Had a little flub at the announcer booth

when it came to this Because they were talking

about doesn't one of the other ones also go by

Kong Yeah, yeah, I think so like it's so the

announcer booth the issue it like Excalibur is

great that color. I don't like the fact that

he wears a mask because it makes it look pokey

Like if you're trying to present this as more

less WWE and more serious, maybe lose the mask

You can have the nickname Excalibur but have

his real name or something, but he's great. He's

fantastic The Alex Marvez guy, he's terrible.

It's Awesome Kong and Aja Kong. Oh, is that what

it was? Yeah, somebody else. Yeah. Okay, because

Aja Kong came about later. No, because I think

this is what happened is they were talking about

the... Women's roster possibly or something of

that nature and then they said, you know, oh,

you know later on in the match, you know in the

card We're gonna see Ajay Kong or whatever and

they they're like, oh, you know Because they

said the word Kong and then made him think of

awesome Kong and I swear they say awesome Kong

before they reveal that she is by accident then

yeah, cuz then all of a sudden like they like

let it out a little bit too early and then it's

like Here's the reveal of awesome Kong. It's

like wait, you know, it's perfect timing cuz

what we got was a few weeks away till till uh

glow season three right and she's one of the

main stars of that do not be surprised if aw

has a bunch of girls show up in that uh season

i would would not be surprised at all that as

well so obviously the interesting part about

this and if you would have watched the YouTube

videos what they did here was kind of interesting

because they have Brandy Rhodes there was a video

where she's talking to Britt Baker and like saying

you know oh you know I'm we're in all we're fully

supporting you we want you to win this match

blah blah blah and then there's immediately a

video of her talking to Nyla Rose and doing the

same thing and then her talking to Kyla Rae and

doing the same thing so she was basically telling

them all a bunch of BS that she was all in support

of each one of them and then of course she comes

out with awesome Kong so that was kind of where

that led to. What did you guys think of this

match? I liked it. I thought it was interesting.

I thought it was cool, but I think you've got

two people that should be marketed as big monsters

as far as powerhouses, and I don't think they

got enough time to shine in it with Nyla Rose

and Awesome Kong. I think this might be the first

time on a national pay -per -view that you had

like a transgendered wrestler, right? So it You

maybe shouldn't have had awesome Kong in that

match Maybe you know show off that that factor

don't take the spotlight away if that's what

you want to do You could have put awesome Kong

in with the Japanese wrestlers with Ajay Kong.

You could have done a few there. It's like There's

only one kong allowed or something. You could

have done it there, and then it would have actually

elevated that match later on. So I think that

was a bit of a slip -up, but that's just nitpicking.

I thought that both the women's matches were

decent. At the end, the one thought that I had

was maybe this is the one area that right now

at this exact moment... just based on the rosters

that WWE might have the edge on them when it

comes to the women on the WWE roster compared

to the women on the AEW roster. But then I was

like, well, it's not fair to judge that on based

on one pay review. And I know it's going to be

a focus for them to keep that women's division

strong and going. So I'm hoping that they can

kind of either tear some people away from the

WWE or at least get everything nailed down so

they can compete because right now the women

are the only reason to watch WWE in my opinion.

So I'm hoping that AEW can kind of match that

because everything else is great. Well, and the

thing is, WWE spent the last five years cultivating

the best of the best as far as women wrestling

in the world, right? So they snatched up everybody

with those classics and some of them are that

you don't even see. They probably got 20 women

that you've never even seen just locked into

NXT contracts that don't even wrestle because

they want to keep them. There's a couple of them

that are upset that might be bailing eventually

might need to talk about that at the end But

yeah, I thought it was a it was decent match.

I gotta admit though at this point the beating

the bleacher the BR live feed Was not good at

the first half of this pay -per -view They were

struggling. I don't know what it was on their

end but I know it wasn't just like local to me

because if you went under their support page

it was like Dumpster fire people complaining.

Yeah, I I watched it on the fight app here and

which is which was perfectly fine But I had heard

that but I know I watched the bleach report for

the second pay -per -view and The pre -show was

having issues where it was glitching out and

then as soon as the main pay -per -view started

It was perfect and crystal clear better. Yeah,

I had a no problem with the with the latest one

But the on double or nothing it was doing two

things number one. It would refuse to go HD So

it would be HD for a second and then it would

be like pixelated or blurry where you couldn't

cool You just knew you could tell but it wasn't

just not crisp and then I probably took 20 25

pictures of it buffering Just in case I needed

to try to get my money back or something. Yeah,

it's like loading and loading You know the apps

in there I think they launched this service is

like the live -streaming thing only in the last

couple months, right? So this I think like is

really who's watching Okay, so soccer, not an

example. Let's say who's watching golf or something,

whatever they were showing. There's very few

people that are going to sign up just to watch

that. I think this was the most heavy load they'd

ever had as far as traffic on it. And they fixed

it for sure by the second one. It's actually

it was fixed on this one sometime during the

sixth match So these next two matches five and

six I didn't get to see in their entirety like

clearly without a lot of interruptions So I can't

say a lot about the matches five and six But

by the time they get to the Cody Rhodes match

everything was finally working and in HD So I

got to see the final three at least the way they

should have Good The next two matches best friends

Chuck Taylor and Trent Barretta versus Angelico

and Jack Evans and then Somebody else gonna have

to pronounce these names because I just can't

there's just no way you want to okay you want

to try and sure match six Hikaru Shida, Riho

Rio Mizunami and Ajikong Yuka Sakazaki And Emi

Sakura. I like the best friends as single individuals.

I hate their gimmick. Their gimmick is Billy

and Chuck. Just not as overt. And it's not as...

I don't know. It seems very indie, very hokey.

That's going to have to change. The hug it out

stuff has got to stop. I don't care for that

at all. From what I could see from the six women

tag match that there was a lot of athleticism

and there was a lot of cool things that they

were trying to do, but it just seemed like something

was off about that match, whether it was them

knowing each other, whether it was the timing,

whether it was something just seemed like it

was a little bit off on that match compared to

something. Japanese promotions are going to be

different than working for US ones, so they're

probably not used to the way the crowd reacts

to them. Right because there was a few times

where I was like, well, I know what that was

supposed to do But you seemed like you were off

on your timing or they weren't selling stuff

the right quite the right way So it almost came

across as something that was like I know sometimes

there's complaints with some of the independent

wrestling as like Okay, just because you're athletic.

You can't just go balls to the wall 24 -7 and

just keep running up in on the moves and then

nobody actually has ever hurt by anything So

that's one thing that you have to watch out for

and something like that And then we get to brother

versus brother If there wasn't two other matches

on this card, I'd say this was the match of the

night. Oh, I mean it was It was yes, but it's

one of the top three matches probably of the

decade I mean Dustin Rhodes to be able to pull

that off at his age and For how long it's he's

been since he's been, you know in the ring on

a regular basis was ridiculous He the last time

he was in the ring on a regular basis was like

a year and a half ago Two years ago and he did

a house show tour up here and I got to see him

locally and his match was the best match of the

night and let's be real like for for Because

a lot of people might hear like oh, you know

He hasn't been doing regular stuff for a year

and a half and be like, well, that's not that

long Yeah, that's not that long for someone who's

25 Yeah, he's 50 This was awesome. The presentation

was great. What do you guys think of the throne

destroying? I could have done without it. I could

do without it, but you know what? It's tongue

-in -cheek enough to be fun. It wasn't overboard.

It would have brought the match to a full 10

out of 10 had they not done that maybe. But again,

you can ignore that and it still was a fantastic

match. Mean there was the chemistry and the psychology

there was on point like especially for two brothers

who haven't always been you know on the greatest

terms with each other and things of that nature,

but I mean they it was like When being the the

half gold dust paint half Half Dustin from the

late 80s paint or no paint look like sort of

merging the world together. You know, that was

kind of cool. Yeah There's a fantastic match

all the way through and if you haven't seen that

if you haven't watched any AEW stuff Please watch

that match be prepared. Do not if you're squeamish.

You might have to look away a few times Yeah,

this is by far the most bloodiest match I've

seen in the last seven years if you remember

all those videos on YouTube of Ric Flair cutting

his head open and just right it's basically mixed

with the stone cold crimson mask and because

in HD, you get to see, uh, it's, it's like corn

syrup falling. A little, yep. But he pulls out

some moves that, and they do each other's moves.

There's a lot of psychology there, but he does

some stuff that I've never seen him do, let alone

didn't even think he could do that small package,

like forward flip thing that he did in the corner

was insane for somebody his age to do, especially

with somebody losing that much blood. The other

thing that you could tell out of this is because

Dustin Rhodes is not gonna be a regular competitor

on AEW I don't think like I think he's gonna

have you know your guy if anything, right? He's

gonna have something very few and far between

you know Maybe a little bit more here at the

beginning and then once they get hitting their

stride He's probably gonna take some on some

other role or just fade away or something, but

you could tell that like It seemed like in his

mind. He didn't care what happened the next day

He was just trying to do this like he was trying

to put on a show for everybody, whether this

was his last match or not. Like, it was just

like, I'm going to leave it all out here. I'm

going to give my brother everything I can to

help him be successful and to make this whole

thing successful and to show everybody I still,

you know, that I'm underrated, I guess, in one

sense of the word, but also that I can still

do stuff. So, I mean, it was you could see it

on his face. You could see it in his emotions.

And it was very easy to connect to from an audience

standpoint. And I've never been a fan really

of Cody's work he's he can do good stuff but

he never seemed like a really good worker he

always seemed to be more talk than he was uh

like a worker and this is probably the best match

he's ever had yeah it easily is because i mean

look at what he ended up doing right before he

left or got let go from his contract from wwe

i mean like this could have just wasn't doing

It could have been yes, but it was no just think

of it It could have been a trainwreck and you're

going into this match knowing that someone's

52 years old and look at every time that WWE

puts somebody that's 52 years old on a pay -per

-view it absolutely is garbage and so like The

last time I can think of like an older wrestler

like that age group working on WWE well would

be maybe now Shawn Michaels know Like right before

the end of okay, maybe Ric Flair's retirement

match Maybe. Maybe Hogan and Rock. Was Hogan

in his 50s then? Maybe. Maybe not, but I mean

he was getting up there at least sort of. He

would have been like 48, 49. His skin was like

beef jerky. That's about the match that's the

closest to this as far as someone that wasn't

quite as old and someone that was old and still

being able to pull off something that was believable.

Maybe Flair and... Michaels because Michaels

would have been what maybe 40 and then You've

got yeah, he was like late 30s early 40s, and

then Rick Flair was like 54 or something. Yeah

So this was impressive because this could have

been a disaster Yeah, it could have been thankfully

it wasn't This is just a little nitpick on on

my end, but I wish Cody would change his hair,

because all I can think of is that villain he

played in the Arrow season that he was in, because

the only reason why he got the job on Arrow was

because he did the thing with the metal in WWE

at the time. And wasn't he selling the drug stardust

or something? Yeah. But this match was amazing,

and how they ended it afterwards, if that doesn't

tug at anyone's heartstrings, you don't have

a heart. damn that was good it was a perfect

way to sell another another thing that's going

on obviously yeah so then the penultimate match

before the last one was the young bucks versus

the lucha brothers Jesus this was brutal in a

good way but damn yeah like i've not been a fan

necessarily of the the young bucks are awesome

they do crazy moves but i've always seen them

as being like i don't know it's almost like when

you're that light you can believe that they can

do all the flippy stuff without hurting themselves

they're not the best at selling um so but that

being said the lucha brothers like pentagon and

phoenix like they were the only ones doing anything

good at uh like lucha underground or when they

were at tna they were actually putting on good

matches and putting them together was brilliant

and the other great thing is that they already

had that connection to the fans that you could

tell you know what i mean like the fans are already

all in on on their gimmick on their chance on

their different things and whatnot so like that

was cool because you had a feeling that it was

like almost like a dance off like it's a tit

for tat type of thing it's like yeah we like

both groups like oh look what they just did and

then it's like oh they just one up them and then

oh they came back with this and it's just like

oh my god like and speaking of fans like just

to go back to cody match had the most engaged

crowd i think i've heard since the attitude era

as far as not people just doing like the back

and forth you know cina cina sucks stuff or or

the chance of this is awesome I'm not a big fan

of all those stupid chants. They were literally

just standing up screaming like, yeah, for whoever

they wanted, just like you saw in all those old

videos. Like it was so loud, like they didn't

have to, you know, make up the crowd that much.

And when they turned the cameras, the crowd reactions,

everybody's on their feet screaming and it doesn't

look phony or like they're playing along. They

were super into it. Um, the only thing that you

gotta watch out for in these types of matches,

like I'm talking about the young bucks and, uh,

uh... the lucha brothers is they do so much ridiculously

crazy athletic stuff you never seen before stuff

and they didn't there's no problem with it on

this one but i when you're doing that many things

it's like What's going to actually be the finisher?

You know what I mean? Like you're almost up into

the stakes where you can't have a finisher because

nothing, you know, you can't be as good as some

move before we pulled off before. It's like when

you're trying to get crazier and crazier with

like jump. Oh, I jumped off the rope. Oh, I jumped

off the steel cage. Oh, I jumped off the whatever,

whatever, you know, I kind of keep getting crazier.

I'm not saying that it had anything to do with

this match, but I'm just saying like another,

you know, we've seen that in WWE, et cetera.

So that was one thing. So they don't need to

see you again. Right. So that was one thing that

I was worried about, but I think they told the

line well enough on this one where it wasn't

like, okay, like I'm not gonna buy the finish

because you've already done way more amazing

stuff earlier that didn't finish the match. Exactly.

And that's the other thing. Again, differences

between EW and WWE is half of any of the moves

that were on this pay -per -view. Never see them

in WWE. Never rock does it because he doesn't

care. Yeah, you would never see never ever ever

I mean there was some stuff that was just ridiculous

like there was so ridiculously I don't even want

to use the WWE term, but I'm going to it was

so ridiculously over -the -top, but in a good

way again refreshing wrestling not stale Storyline

driven and yes, I know they're going to eventually

have to have storyline stuff and that's great.

That's fine Just seeing, I'd like to say, is

a pure form of wrestling again. Wow. Seeing wrestling

where people think they have something to actually

prove. Exactly. And then we had Jericho versus

Omega. First thing out of my mouth as soon as

I started watching this match was, God damn you,

Dolph Ziggler. The reason why I say that is because

Not currently, but the last time Dolph was in

WWE before he left again, or whatever he did,

whatever they did, I don't even know. Started

making fun of everybody and started coming out

to everybody's music and then just making fun

of all of everybody. Didn't matter who it was,

any WWE superstar. So this match Jericho comes

out. He comes out to all of his different character

iterations. And. I think it just took too damn

long and I had already seen it with what Dolph

had done in the past with making fun of it. Other

than that, this match was awesome. Other than

Jericho finally looking like full dad bod. Yeah.

Really? But you know what? I wish that instead

of like the music, he's going to always come

out to his own music because he owns the rights

to it now and everything, right? Because he plays.

But I would have liked him to come out. to that

terrible, hilarious music he had at WCW, his

first one, where he's the babyface. Like, all

the days or whatever. Because it would have been

hilarious, and he'd come out, completely reinvent

himself, reinvent himself as if it's 1995. The

only problem with this match, literally the only

problem with this match, is that it came after

the last two matches. Yeah, at that end, a lot

of people don't care for Omega for some of his...

like over -the -top facial expressions and stuff,

but he toned it down a fair bit here. I'm just

not a fan of his hair or whatever you call that

rat's nest. Yeah, that's for sure. No, it was

just a step down from the athleticism we saw

with the Young Bucks and the psychology that

the Rhodes brothers put together in their match

and kind of the emotional pull, so it wasn't

going to give you... Like the Rhodes match had

the best of one world and the young bucks tag

match has the best of another world and They

weren't gonna be able to compete with either

of those worlds. Yes, this was the most WWE match

they had Right, but at the same time this is

the match that sold the pay -per -view initially.

So I get why they did it It was still good. Like

I still think it was a better match than a lot

of others You know the former Ambrose coming

out and just wrecking house and oh and everybody

I think that's the only reason why Yeah, I think

that's the only reason why this match was last.

As I said, Cody versus Dustin could have been

last, or the Young Bucks could have been last.

The only reason why Jericho and Omega was last

is because of the planned or unplanned, you know,

debut or whatever, or teaser for John Moxley.

And I actually had to watch that before. Watch

this entire thing because again, I've been a

shield fan since 2012 and I know yes He's not

Dean Ambrose anymore. He's John Moxley, but still

the same fucking guy So I'm gonna follow that

guy no matter fucking guy without his hands tied

Hide behind his back or whatever. Yeah Yeah,

that that was an awesome awesome match and I'm

glad that Jericho won Again, it gives him something

to do. It also shows that it isn't going to be

a case of what happened at like WCW or TNA where

the management who also happens to be wrestling

always wins. Right. And that's why Cody wasn't

the last match. I think. Yeah. Like that would

have been just to like nepotism or something

if you had the two roads is that the final match

when you know he's the one that's in charge of

everything basically. And I think it makes sense

Jericho is the most established star on the whole

roster clearly like that. You can't even argue

that like he is He has the one that's got the

mainstream media to take notice when he came

out and did his surprise promo press release

on it like without Him they would have done well,

but they wouldn't have got the like was it a

little over a hundred thousand people I think

it was a hundred and someone thousand paid for

the pay -per -view which is the biggest pay -per

-view numbers outside of WWE Since the 90s, maybe

Yeah, probably since WCW at least but Overall

I'm sorry. Oh, I just say overall like I think

what separates this one is number one We were

getting to see a lot of stuff We had never seen

before but then even the stuff that we had seen

before seemed like it was better like Frank Frankie

Kazarian did a dropkick in the opening match

of the whole thing that is better than the drop

kick I've seen in, like it might be the best

drop kick I've ever seen. Like even the stuff

that they were doing was better than the stuff

that I've seen on WWE lately or any other place

outside of, NXT comes close, and I know that's

WWE, but if you just watch NXT, I guess it's

closer to that, but I don't know. to mention

all the crazy stuff that you've never seen before.

But even the simple dropkick, even a simple,

you know, certain moves, it just, for some reason

had like something, it was ramped up in this

and it was just amazing to watch. Working the

crowd, like MJF, MJF is 23 and he's gone. He's

a better talker than 99 % of the people in WWE.

It was a very, um, it was a very good step. It

was a very good like initial foray into this.

I know they had, um, you know, the, the thing

last fall as well, but this was like, kind of

for all intents and purposes, this was like their

first pay -per -view might as well be. Um, and

it was a great introduction for a lot of people

to what's going on here. Um, I, I think it's.

I can see what they're doing because I understand

that you're going to have these random pay -per

-views or free shows once a month or once every

couple weeks for the summer and leading up to

October. I get that. That's going to do a lot

because it's going to establish these characters

and we're going to at least know who's who before

they go into the storytelling of what's going

to take place and having a weekly show. I understand

that they don't want to just jump in right to

a weekly show because nobody knows these guys

yet. But at the same time, it's like, oh, you

had so much momentum coming off of this. I feel

like it should just be immediately starting like

I would have tuned in the next day to watch the

TV show. So it's I get what they're doing, but

I'm like, man, I hope that they don't. I hope

the TV show wasn't so far off, you know, October

being still three, four months away or whatever

it is that they're going to let. I hope they

don't lose any of this momentum. Well, my guess

is like they've announced, you know, one more

fight for the fallen is another free one. Then

we have the big pay per view all out. And then

we've got about a month off. They're probably

gonna do one more free event to get people hooked

and that'll lead in and they can use that as

Like extra b -roll footage for promos for the

show Absolutely. Alright, so on zero to five

scale Kevin, what would you give double or nothing?

Four and a half Alex exactly the same. I'm right

there with you guys four and a half To be fair,

there is going to be some kinks. They are working

out some stuff. We talked about the announcing

team a little bit. We talked about the Battle

Royale and some of the other stuff that was like,

find your footing, figure out what's going to

work, what's not going to work. But I'm willing

to give them those little kinks in the beginning

as they work things out. Yeah, as an inaugural

show, if you just went, hey, this is a promotion

out of nowhere. And on that scale, it's a five

out of five. As far as the fact that it's so

professional in some aspects, especially with

the production work. You know, it almost feels

like it's a show that's been running for years

just the way it started So absolutely on that

scale just with some of the hokey stuff some

of the kinks they got to work out That's why

I gave it a four and a half and that was without

getting the Kenny or without getting the The

pock match with hangman page that was originally

supposed to be on this pay -per -view So just

imagine if that would have a match as well would

have crushed that little elf Like, let's be real

here. And he is listed on the roster. You can

be the most muscle -y elf in the world, but you're

still an elf. You're still an elf. Devil. Nope.

Alright, so we're gonna take a quick break and

then we're gonna come back with our Fighter Fest

discussion after this. Tonight at Fighter Fest.

It's time to show the world why all elite wrestling

is here to stay. Will you? Follow us! AEW is

ready to embrace the bright lights. Lucha Brothers,

Laredo Kid, we'll see you at Fighters Fest. Ready

to prove themselves yet again. Amazing! Because

they realize, in order to survive the struggle

and succeed, they need to fight for this dream

every day. Their passion will create an energy

that will infuse your soul and energy that declares

let's live forever. Welcome to All Elite Wrestling.

This is Fighter Fest. Welcome to the show. It's

time for a free event, everybody. It's time for

AEW's Fighter Fest. F -Y -T -E -R. That's right.

Fighter. Gamer thing, I guess. I don't know.

Yeah, it was a joint event. There is a like,

you know how there's Evo, the, the fighting tournament,

uh, expo fan expo thing, same sort of deal, uh,

where they have a bunch of fighting games. And

this was, so this was fighting games and wrestling.

So we talked a little while ago about how there's

a lot of tag team matches and double or nothing.

It's one very different matches. You have a three

-way tag team match to start it. You got a singles

match, a hardcore match, a singles match, a three

-way match. Four -way match another singles a

six -man tag team match and then non -sanctioned

match at the end You guys thinking? Difference

between double or nothing's matches just as what

types of matches they are and fighter fest Personally

I like the flow of this better Uh, I thought

it was going to be a lower quality production

because it was like, I thought it would be like,

you know, the WWE is their network specials where

they're a little lower quality with the exception

of like the stuff over in Saudi Arabia. Um, but

no, this was like the same quality. Um, I, I

like the layout a little better. I'm still getting

used to like the names of some of the teams and

that, but like, I know the one team, you know,

they can't go by super smash brothers because

they might get sued. Um, But, uh, you know, you're

going to see a lot of the same people that were

on the last paper because the last paper view

was the introduction to everybody. Obviously.

Uh, I do like how the layout went. Um, I don't

know how we'll get to it, but like the final

match, the unsanctioned one, it was a little

hokey how they set it up, but I get why they

did it. Honestly, the the final match is probably

the only one the only one that I have a problem

with because I don't like hardcore matches I

said I don't like Joey Janela. He's just he looks

like a Play -Doh man that they just said Hey

in his gimmick. I'm the bad boy Bad bad boy.

Oh god. Look at me So I was happy that mox did

everything he did to him hardcore matches just

are so No, they're so, like, manufactured. They're

pointless in that. You know, like, if it happens

to turn into a hardcore match, cool. I don't

like when you have gimmicky things to bring into

the ring. You know, a hardcore match could be

things like you're fighting on scaffolding or

that sort of crap, but they don't really have

to do that. When you have to look under the ring,

or look under the whatchamacallit and go under

the ring, like, 17 times in a match, I'm... I'd

lose it just, like... Yeah, like, what it should

be is you should come to the ring with whatever

you're going to use, or it should be in the ring.

and then it's not just that we're grabbing a

chair it's not just that we're grabbing seven

tables or seven ladders or thumb tacks like at

one point i know we're jumping ahead but you

pull out what's clearly a manufactured board

that has barbed wire on it like that is the most

like like come on that's not natural they did

this because what they wanted to show is that

uh before he was dean ambrose he worked uh Mox

worked for CZ, whatever it's called, Combat Zone

Wrestling. He was one of these guys that did

all the bullshit matches that you see. Whenever

you see somebody go, you know, what's that ridiculous

backyard garbage? That's the kind of matches

he did. So I hope this isn't what he does all

the time. That being said, at least they didn't

go full on light tubes and all that garbage.

They kept it closer to what you would have seen

something on like... Like ECW or something that

mankind would have been in. At least they didn't

bust out the cookie sheets and stuff like that,

I guess. We have three pre -show matches this

time. To be honest, I watched like Scorpio Sky

and Frankie Guzarian in the first match. It was

fun, but I honestly wasn't paying as much attention

to it, only because I was like, I'll just go

back and watch it again because it's on YouTube.

It wasn't I gotta be I have had some other stuff

going on so I didn't pay a lot of attention to

the three pre matches it wasn't until SEMA and

Christopher Daniels came on that I really started

paying attention to this one because again like

some of that stuff was earlier on and I was ready

for it. Yeah, I mean again, I've said this for

years. I do not watch any of the WWE pay -per

-view pre -shows because this is a new thing.

I want to see how, how they do it differently.

Maybe how, how it's, you know, yeah, it'd be

their own thing. I'll say this. I'm already tired

of the dueling librarians. Oh, that doesn't have

even been a part of it at all. That's one of

the, I forgot that existed. It's that is the

most, you know, TNA late to like 2000 WCW garbage.

Like they shouldn't even be there. I think the

good thing, the interesting thing that they did

set up with the pre show matches is the tag team,

the announcement that, that, you know, we are

having an AEW world tag team championship tournament

at some point. So they were, you know, that match

was too advanced to, uh, you know, having a first

round buy. So I'm interested to see, you know,

all the different tag teams that are going to

be involved with that and kind of how they do

that. So we're clearly going to get the, the,

the main AE, AEW, whatever they're calling it,

championship world championship, whatever they

call it. And at least a tag team championship.

So we know those two are happening at least.

Well, and remember that like it used to be until

the WWE did this stuff with their network. The

pre -shows were just something like a red carpet

thing. They never really showed anything pre

like pre -show matches used to just be called

dark matches and they would show up on the DVD.

Right. Because there had, there had to be some

reason for you to buy the DVD, but now the DVDs

aren't really a thing, even though WWE still

seems to think they are by releasing them. Like

what they should be doing is, you know, you you

pay for the pay -per -view or you pay for the

stream whatever you get your main show and then

after the fact if you want to buy it after the

fact let's say you missed it the first time where

you want to buy it or whatever if you're a member

of their network or you want to buy dvds that's

when they should be including the matches pretty

sure because by default they're kind of going

to be nothing matches unless they put like a

belt on the line or something yeah absolutely

As far as well the second one like Ali and leave

baits Ali I've never been a fan of with any of

her stuff with impact She's a local girl from

up here pretty close to where I live. Yeah Yeah,

they're basically marketing her and I think there's

another one too where they're basically being

marketed just as Bailey light Riley Ray is almost

like that It's like, what's, what's her deal?

Well, she smiles a lot. Okay. And it's like,

and, and what else do you do? Nothing. Oh, okay.

So you're, you're really not important then as

far as, um, like the third match there, the Michael

Nakazawa, I don't really, not really a fan of.

So I've seen Nakazawa twice. I've seen the oil

twice. I'm done with the oil and I'm done with

Michael Nakazawa if he continues to use the fucking

oil. That's his gimmick. Yeah, but usually that's

the kind of thing the ref wouldn't be like, you

can't have that here. I don't know why it's allowed

in there. That's another example too of a match

that consists of someone that's not even on the

roster because that Alex guy is not on the roster.

Oh no, he's the CEO of the event. Like the event

that was the... He's the guy that runs the con.

So it's what they do when you go to like a local

town. It's the standard vanity match. That's

all. Gotcha. Okay. I didn't realize that he had

that connection. That wasn't paying attention

enough during the pre -matches. So the best part

about the pre -show for me, the fact that it

ended, but it was the end because here comes

mocks. That was cool. It's another cool little

vignette promo thing that Moxley is doing. It

was very cool. The main show started with SEMA

versus Christopher Daniels. I swear, every time

I see Christopher Daniels, I'm like, what's Spider

-Man doing? What's Christopher Daniel Barnes

doing in wrestling? Don't. I know it's not him,

but I keep seeing the name and I'm like, isn't

that the voice of Spider -Man from the 90s? It's

not, obviously. Every time I hear it, or like

I hear other thing, uh, Seema versus him, I think

John Cena versus Christopher Daniels, really.

That's a good match though. I mean, it was, it

was, uh, did a good job of kicking off the pay

-per -view I thought, um, as far as getting people

excited and whatnot. Um, I don't think Christopher

Daniels was, it's interesting now cause he was

in a solo, you know, a one -on -one match compared

to the team. Like we saw on Double or Nothing,

so it was a little bit of a different take, but

I thought the two played pretty well off of each

other for obviously having some experience wrestling

each other. Yeah, they did. They had some really

cool moves. Very, very fun, fun starter match.

Yeah. Then we had good we're gonna same same

thing as double or nothing here If you look at

the time durations, you have the first, you know

Four or five matches that are all between 8 and

12 Matt 12 minutes and then you have the main

three that are all 20 minutes so seems like a

pattern so far, but Which is very good We get

the women We get the women, you know defeated

Yuka Sakazaki and Milo Rose I To be honest, I

slept through it. I love women's wrestling. I

really do. He's this match was not a match I

wanted to see. I basically just skipped through

it. Well, plus another interesting thing is he

was the very middle match of the show, which

is when most people get up to go to the washroom

anyway. And that's why they put two people on

that are not on the roster either, because Rio

and Yuka are not listed on the roster. Oh, wow.

Oh, I'm. Neither roses, but the two main people

there are not the two main people but the other

two or not So that's obviously a reach out to

have them involved and whatnot. So Yeah, I think

that it was the worst not the worst But if you're

gonna pick a match that you should if you had

to skip one match on the card, that's the one

you skip Absolutely Next is Adam page versus

Jimmy Havoc jungle boy with luchasaurus and AF

This is my second favorite match of the night.

The way MJF tore down everybody and just this

comeback to the comments. I really enjoyed this

match. Like I said, I think it was probably my

second favorite match on the whole card because

I'm already finding these new characters like

Alex was mentioning with MJF or some of these

other people that I'm interested in. Jungle boy.

I'm interested in MJF. I'm a new to Adam page.

I don't know a lot about him I don't really care

too much about Jimmy Havoc He's a British hardcore

wrestler that's kind of Yeah, but anything else

he reminds me of what we're talking about before

like you either need to get buff or You need

to do something because right now you look like

a big one way or the other Right. Otherwise,

you're not buying that that's one of my employees

out there, or that's somebody that I play softball

with that's out there. The only third option

you have is to be three feet tall. Right. But

I thought, together, some of the stuff. Right.

But I just think some of the stuff they did was

very fun again. I got to see some luchasaurus

I thought it was interesting that they're showing

a connection between him and jungle boy apparently

so I'm interested to see where they go with that,

but I Thoroughly was entertained and I usually

don't like four -way batches. Yeah and Adam page

I think he was part of the Bullet Club in New

Japan a few years ago He's basically like the

modern -day cowboy wrestler, but not really cowboy

wrestler similar to I'm trying to think if there's

somebody else like a bit of Stone Cold with a

bit of, uh, uh, like the smoking guns with a

bit of, uh, like a classic seventies wrestler.

Like, I don't know, like, uh, like almost like

eighties, like not with, uh, not with Orndorff.

Um, who was the other guy that was supposed to

be like the next Hulk Hogan for WCW, but he got

hurt or something. Oh, um, what's his name? The

yeah, Magnum TA or. Uh, yeah, or even like, uh,

like the funks, like a little bit like that,

but I like Anna page. I'm, I'm a fan of his so

far. And he actually has like, he's the one probably

out of everybody on this roster. He's the one

that, you know, Vince would look and go, why

haven't we signed him? Cause he has the exact

look that he would go for. Yep. He's probably

one of the only ones that would, that would fit

that. Like maybe Omega, I know that he was offered

and he turned down money. So I guess, yeah, Omega

maybe. And then, cause he's the only other guy

that has the right height. He's like six, five,

um, yeah, but they wouldn't know how to use him.

Like I could see Vince going like Adam Page,

we're going to make him this, but then he's going

to make him a full cowboy and has to wear a hat

and has to do come out riding a horse. But no

great match for me. And like I said, I don't

like four way matches a lot, but I was fully

entertained by that one. Up next, we have Cody

with Brandi versus Darby Allen. It was fun to

a time limit draw. And then they even said, Oh,

but five more minutes, we need a decision. We

need it. So that's a little poke WWE. Yeah. You

know what the Darby Allen, he was on a documentary

show called the wrestlers that's been airing.

I think it's on vice, maybe. And like he's one

of these, you know, up and coming sort of wrestlers

that is more about doing like the crazy performance.

He does some of the dumb crap that not everybody

would like, but coming to the ring with a body

bag with Cody's name on it. That was actually

pretty good. That was pretty good. Yeah. I said

before I'm a double or nothing that I wish Cody

would change his hair color. After this match,

I really wish he would have changed it because

damn. Well, I think it changed form on his own,

right? Like all true. Yes. Um, basically, um,

uh, Sean Spears, right? Formerly, uh, known as

the perfect 10. Yes. Ty Dillinger who, uh, who

looks way better in his new look now and it looks

like he's put on some mass too. It actually looks

like a wrestler now, instead of just a scrawny

version of, um, his name, uh, Jason Jordan. Uh,

so basically this match was really, really good

until Spears comes in and basically Colcox Cody

in the back of the head with a steel chair. Um,

like he hit the front and I thought, Oh, did

he gimmick the back of his head to do it? But

what happened was The, the chair bent the wrong

way and it smacked them on the back. Yeah. Yeah.

Cause they did have a gimmick chair, but it's

still, I mean, he, he had 12 staples in his head.

So that's not fake. Yeah. There's no way that's

trust me as someone who just came out of brain

surgery a few months ago, all staples in your

head that that's not faked. If that doesn't separate

them from the WWE. Yeah. The last time that happened

was what? uh brock opening up randy orton's head

the hard way with his elbow like and before that

was or then again there was that that fake blood

that they did with uh triple h and roman reigns

because god forbid he actually gets bloody right

but yeah having chair shots obviously aren't

allowed in the wwe so and they're not really

going to be allowed here it's only going to be

like the crazy weird occasion sort of thing and

it did get them the press they wanted i think

yeah for sure So obviously sets up another thing

here for the future So good job with that without

having a TV program to be setting up some of

these angles and stuff like that Get tag match

six -man tag match the elite versus the lucha

brothers So it's Kenny Omega Matt Jackson Nick

Jackson versus On jr. And Ray Phoenix with Laredo

kid don't you mean Ryu Ken and Akuma? Versus

hokey stuff that actually can get behind because

it was a themed show. Right. So I'm okay with

it because it was, they were all in on the joke

and it wasn't it. If, if WWE had handled that,

you know, it would have been way worse when they

did the actual move without touching them to

just do that. It's like, Oh God, but It's all

right because the rest of the match was so much

fun and Laredo kid is a badass as well. So Laredo

kid was cool. I Mean all I mean I could watch

the Lucha brothers and Laredo kid or any other

combination of some of those guys all day Absolutely

And we end with the unsanctioned match which

is John Moxley versus Joey Janela like to go

out they announced the end of the show and say

the next match is not sanctioned and i went that's

hokey but i think it was wise to do that to try

to hopefully remove that style from what is going

to be the main thing like i'm hoping that means

that that's not going to be a staple like we're

not going to go full on hardcore matches all

the time type thing so hopefully that's a thing

hopefully this is just to set up him as a badass

i knew he was going to have tons of barbed wire

and crap because They had done all this talk

about Moxley not wearing the jeans at all. And

now he's going back to wearing just trunks and

normal, you know, wrestling boots. And he shows

up here with like longer pants and a shirt. And

I'm like, Oh, it's going to get really prickly.

Isn't it? Cause there's no way he would have

done any of that stuff if he was just in tights.

No. And I gotta say, I'm like, this is kind of

like the Ambrose asylum. Hello. Yes, exactly.

Hello. Thumbtacks. Exactly. Cause as soon as

I saw the thumbtacks come out, I'm like, Oh,

and I don't remember how this happened. Cause

we've been talking about all this stuff now.

Janela's boots come off. Oh, no, no, no, no,

no, no. No mocks knocked him to the ground, pinned

him down with like a headlock and like submission

move, and then pulled his shoes and socks off

and slammed him feet first into them. Okay. That's

scary. Okay. That's what I thought. That was

awesome. I don't like him. Maybe he'll quit.

He has go away. Get me wrong. We may or may not

like certain wrestlers. I don't really want any

of these people I don't want to see them come

to physical harm like, you know permanent physical

harm because they're putting their Exactly. Yeah,

that's true. But you know still like, you know

Hate to see people get injured and that kind

of thing and whatever whether it's in match or

like look at the the Cody and Dustin match like

Thank God they're both alright. Thank God. If

there weren't going to be any attacks in that

match, I could just see, you know, uh, Dustin

going at this point, Hey, you know, I'll do all

these crazy moves. Like, all right, we're going

to throw attacks in there. And he'd just be like,

fuck you. There's a point where you don't heal

that fast anymore. And watch McLeod. I don't

even think realized that he was going to be a

part of this thumbtacks at the end. Yeah, I don't,

I don't think so either. And it just. I think

it just heightened the match. I thought the match

was really, really cool. Um, I still think the

Cody Darby match was one of the matches of the

pay -per -view for this one. It's that one for

sure. And, uh, I think the Adam Page one too.

Yeah, those two probably. So it's Cody and Darby.

It's the Adam Page one. And then for me, obviously,

because hello, I'm. sleep and it's it's that

um I would like to see them maybe I don't know

if it's cut the pre -show or they can I what

I could see is you know what do a battle royal

on each pre -show but make it less hokey get

all the wrestlers in that maybe aren't going

to be on the show regular or have one good match

or do you know put a tag match on there or something

but Like I said between Doubler Nothing and Fighter

Fest, Doubler Nothing had two pre -show matches.

This had three. I think what they should have

done is they should have had a whole bunch of

people that weren't technically like officially

signed on the roster. And I think they should

have used these pre -show matches as like a way

to get on the roster. Like you're gonna have

some type of like tournament or some type of

like weird thing. With a couple people you want

to build big like that's where they should have

had the the like Nyla Rose she should have come

in there and just squashed a bunch of indie people

that put on a good show so that maybe those people

will be signed like local talent but then you

can make that person look huge and not have to

have a piss break match in the middle of the

show right agreed and then of course and uh and

more uh Like we're setting up things for the

next show, basically. And it's, I'm excited to

what was going on. Like, I think, do you think

nine matches? I think both of them had about

nine matches, right? You think it's the right

number? Both of them had nine matches. I could

deal with even less, honestly. I think if you're

going to give me seven or eight good ones, like

I'm fine with that. And that's, that's what I'm

kind of saying. Fast squash matches or something

fun at the beginning for the pre -show. Yeah.

So basically we want eight matches instead of

nine. The two squash or the two big things at

the beginning and then six more matches. Yeah.

Or even like maybe not a squash match. Have one

good match. Have one 15 minute match to give

you an idea, like a singles match of what it's

going to be like. Then use your other 15 minutes

for your buy -in. You don't need a full hour

buy -in. Just give a 15 minute match and then

have like some promos, have, uh, JR and them

come out and talk about like on camera, what's

going to be on the show. And that's it. Yep.

That's the other thing I noticed I think on both

of these. Rightfully so. He deserves it. Don't

get me wrong. He does not, not deserve it. Uh,

JR gets his own entrance to walk down to the

commentary table. other announcer in my knowledge

in the last at least four years has had that.

Maybe the only other one would be Renee Young,

but that was because she just joined as main

female announcer. And they'll do it when they

think somebody is going to be a guest announcer.

That's about it. Yeah. But it's a smart move

because they know that pretty much everybody

watching these listen to podcasts and are super

fans of him. So he's a celebrity in his own right

coming out. So they usually close out the pre

-show usually with him showing up. And that's

the signal that it's ready to start up. I mean

him, JR and Jericho are the ones that are adding

the way to bridge to people that aren't in the

know. True. And then like you have... like you

have him sort of training new people like they

didn't have the Alex Marvez guy here who was

terrible last time they had another guy who was

also not that great but like you could almost

get away with just having a two -person booth

and then have him train the other guys some some

other way because they're not really good fortunately

they did I know in JR's latest podcast he does

say that Alex Marvez is gonna be back so I think

he is on the Hopefully he's not like the main

play -by -play for their TV show because he's

gonna have to get good real fast And he is on

the broadcast team on the roster on the website

as well Just list Alex Marvez at the caliber

and Jim Ross. It does not list the guy from the

last one So my biggest problem with Marvez is

the fact that he is yelling all the time every

time something amazing or epic or like if he

was calling the unsanctioned match would have

yelled out, oh my God, he just landed on the

thumbtacks. He's not as bad as the guy for NXT.

Luckily I don't watch NXT. I only know how bad

Byron Saxton is on SmackDown. If you're saying

Marwanello, you leave him alone. He's amazing.

He's a national treasure out here. He's great

at screaming at Pride Fighting Championship and

stuff. Yeah, he's a little over the top with

wrestling, but I mean, what did he call himself?

The bipolar rock and roller? Something like that.

Geez. Super high highs, super low lows, super

energy when it comes to shows. Yeah. So that

is AEW's first two pay -per -views or what wasn't

there all in, but we didn't even get to that.

That was not official. That was the Young Bucks

and them doing it on their own. The con wasn't

part of it. It was actually a joint venture they

did with Ring of Honor. So this was the first

official show or first two official shows. I

would give this one a four out of five. Probably

be at a three and a half just because I don't

like hardcore matches. Put it in a three and

a half. Um, like I said before, the three matches

out of the nine that I really liked was, uh,

the, the Hank, the Adam page, uh, the Cody and,

and Darby. And then obviously mocks at the end.

Did you guys see, um, the interview they did

with MGF afterwards on the post show? Oh, I did

not. uh they ask him a bunch of stuff about you

know how do you feel about you know being on

here saying these sorts of things and he basically

takes over the mic and just says uh you know

i'm you know who i'm friends with cody you know

cody rose blah blah blah we're best friends so

he tells me i can say whatever the fuck i want

and he said like right to the cameras and just

walks away like he's got like he's in character

99 percent of the time It's it's like he's 23

years old, but he think that he thinks like a

50 year old wrestler Yeah, he's someone to watch

that's for sure Absolutely You'll have to let

us know folks how we did here on the first AEW

mayhem mics episode I don't know when I'm gonna

have this up. Hopefully this coming Monday most

likely Hopefully well Monday is usually when

we release the thing so There you go. It'll be

this coming Monday, considering we're recording

it on a Friday. But anyway, Alex, Kevin, and

I probably will be back maybe as long as, you

know, Pete's The Hut doesn't take over, Kevin,

because that guy is a horrible, horrible boss.

He eats Pete's The Hut. He eats himself all the

time. That kind of thing. Hopefully Ryan will

be back and maybe we'll get Ryan's perspective

on AEW overall kind of thing. I don't know when

the next WWE episode is going to be. Honestly,

uh, for WWE summer slam at the. If that honestly,

like, I know, I know I do want to do some of

the network stuff. Like they finally put out

the 24 for Ronda Rousey. They finally did 365

for AJ styles. And then I think they did a 24

for Becky Lynch. So I know I want to do that

kind of stuff, but as far as actual WWE pay per

views. Well, what we do is you pick a you pick

a topic like that from the network We do it and

and then we give a bit of news on what we've

seen on the show Or if we've watched a pay -per

-view you sort of make it like a catch -all.

Oh, yeah, absolutely Yep, that's normally what

we do But I mean as far as specific paper like

the plan that we use that I used to use like

oh we're gonna do this pay -per -view this month

or these two paper like At the very least we're

gonna have to do a head -to -head when smackdown

goes to Fox and then you know AEW And like, it's

going to be interesting. I think they start the

same week. Nice. So there'll be all kinds of

stuff coming up here on May and Mike's Geekcast

Radio this week and geek all that good stuff.

Kevin, we're going to meet and find you online,

sir. I'm on Twitter at Optima Solo. Alex, what

about you? Uh, you can find me on Facebook and

Twitter at deathface twig and, uh, or feedback

at thisweekendgeek .net. I monitor the emails.

All right. I am at TF2 and Mike on Twitter. You

can also follow at geekcastradio and at thisweekendgeek

for the respective network Twitters as well.

How are we going to close this out? Oh, we're

going to have Mock say something. I don't know.

Put some MJF in there or something. I don't think

you can get me with a chair. Let's have the staples.

Exactly. Why would you hit a crippled guy with

a chair? Don't do that. Trust me. No, you get

one crippled guy to use a wheelchair to go over

and hit another crippled guy and then it's a

full -on crippled guy. Hey! Stop what you're

doing right now. Put that stuff down. Leave that

stuff at ringside. Because later tonight, I'm

gonna show you how to use it properly. If you

don't know who... or what John Moxley is. We're

about to find out. Cripple Fighter Fest. We can

arrange this. With a 619, I was so shocked to

see that the... It's a little easier when you

don't have to swing your feet the same way. I'm

still convinced that he's the winner though because

his feet never hit the ground. His feet can hit

the ground. How can you lose? Right. He wasn't

eliminated. We need to cut all this out because

we're so horrible. I mean, as a crippled person

at birth, I guess I can do this, but as soon

as Dodd's going to hear this, he's going to be

like... If he gets the mic, he just has to yell

out, I'm more than half the man you are. And

just watch the crowd get puzzled whether or not

they should clap, cheer or be sad. that's the

best thing ever I've heard this week that's funny

alright folks we're getting out of here we'll
