About this Episode

Cosplayer Mad Mel Madigan discusses her start in the community, favorite characters, and the process behind her various costume projects. She talks about emulating iconic comic book covers, the challenges and rewards of the convention circuit, and her approach to dealing with online criticism. The conversation covers her specific interest in the Spider-Man universe, her experience working with fellow cosplayers, and her upcoming costume plans including a rule 63 version of Scar.

Hey guys, this is Madmel Madigan and you're listening

to the Geekcast Radio Network. Hello and welcome

to the GeekCast Radio Network interview of a

cosplayer. I found out about this lovely young

woman through Facebook. I believe it was on Hero

Hotties. She was June 2013 Hottie of the Month.

It's Mad Mel Madigan. Hello. Hey guys. How are

you? Good, how are you? Pretty good, pretty good.

Yeah and in their um, in their spread that they

have on their on their Facebook page and in that

in that album they oh wait that's they list your

uh they have pictures of the Poison Ivy costume

uh Blossom and Black Cat and when I saw the Rolling

Stone Black Cat I'm like oh my god Spidey's in

so much trouble yeah that that one is a crowd

favorite all right so this is just kind of be

a loose kind of interview uh... like i said i'd

i'd seen that photo album and i sort of your

page and i've just been enjoying seeing what

you've come up with uh... over the last little

bit and finding out all the costumes and cosplays

that you have done uh... where are you originally

from what what really put you on the map of saying

hey i i want to do cosplay Originally, I'm from

a little town called Lehigh Acres. It's right

next to Fort Myers, if that puts it in perspective

for anyone. It's in Florida. I just assume everyone

is in Florida, obviously, because, you know,

the whole world revolves around us. And I actually

started cosplaying four years ago. Four or five

years ago now when I went to a little convention

in Miami called Wizard World Miami It was my

very first convention and I found out about it

through a magazine I think I found and I saw

that Adam was was gonna be there and I got super

excited I was like, oh my gosh, I have to go

here. I have to meet him So me and my best friend

we decided to throw together some costumes and

go down there because we Are both huge nerds

And we both love costumes at the time. I was

working for GameStop I was assistant manager

there, so we would both Always dress up for the

promo games And you know we would pick days out

of the week to dress up like different characters

and stuff so we paired up and We put together

I put together poison ivy. She was Harley Quinn,

and then we also did Psylocke and Phoenix. And

then we went down there and we just had an absolute

blast. It was amazing. It's such a great time

that we both got hooked and just decided to start

going to all the different conventions that we

possibly could. How many conventions do you usually

attend a year? Let's see. It it varies because

it seems like every year more and more conventions

start popping up like the first year that I started

cosplaying I only went to I think three conventions

that year I went to Wizard World Miami, and then

I went to mega con and Then I went to super con

and that was it And then the year after that,

I think it up to five. And then once I moved

to Miami, we had a lot of little conventions

throughout the year. So from there, it just went

up to like there were seven conventions and 10

conventions. And by the time I started going

out of state to conventions, like now I go to

Dragon Con, New York Comic Con. I'm trying to

go to C2E2 this year. And then there's a convention

in DC. that I was thinking about going to and

now I'm just up to so many conventions. What

was the very first costume you made and how did

you get it done? I actually, the first one that

I ever made was Psylocke and I made it for my

birthday party one year because I'm the kind

of nerd that makes themed birthday parties. And

that year was superheroes. So I was having a

superhero themed birthday party. And ever since

I was a little girl, my favorite female superhero

was Psylocke. So I knew that I had to make a

Psylocke costume. And honestly, at the time,

I didn't know anything about making costumes

or putting together costumes or where I should

go for what. And I was... Definitely afraid of

wigs because they hurt after a while and I don't

like pain so I decided to go the Lazy messy way

and spray my hair with purple instead of using

a purple wig And then I just bought a dance leotard

online I bought some ribbons and I taped them

to my arms and legs And then I had some stockings

that I also taped into place on my legs. And

then I cut some gloves so that they were fingerless

and that was my Psylocke cosplay. I mean, at

the time, I'm sorry, someone was calling me.

At the time, I thought I looked pretty awesome,

but yeah. Looking back, I'm a little ashamed

to... Look at it. Alright, so recently I've noticed

that you like emulating your favorite comic covers.

Yeah. You've got several J. Scott Campbell ones

out there. Is that something you always do or

is that something that just every now and then

you'll do? I find inspiration through artwork

a lot. I mean, it's why I started cosplaying

because I loved seeing the different costumes

in comic books, in movies, in video games. So

that's what I wanted to copy off of, honestly.

And J. Scott Campbell has always been one of

my favorite artists. I think he is absolutely

brilliant with everything that he does. I don't

know if you could hear that on Skype, but my

text ringtone totally says my spider sense is

tingling. So whenever I get a chance to recreate

something like that, I get really excited and

I get really anal about it. The photographer

I was working with for the the statue shoot my

my wigs bangs are on the wrong side So yes, exactly.

So I told him he would have to mirror imager

or else it wouldn't be right And he was like,

are you sure that's gonna matter that much and

I'm like, oh no, it matters. Trust me And he's

like, okay, I mean whatever it's fun. I can I

can do that. It's easy. No problem. I'm like

great and We actually me and heroically fit which

is the spider -man that I work with on a lot

of the shoots we made a video of The cosplay

shoot where we did that one and we did the cover

of 606 where I'm black hat and Mary Jane Yeah,

how did that work? I'm looking at that image

now, and I'm thinking, how did they? The magic

of Photoshop. Yeah. Literally, I took a picture

as MJ, and then we took the picture as Black

Cat and Spider -Man. And then the photographer

worked his magic and put them both together.

And we actually made a behind -the -scenes video

of that shoot, which we will be putting up hopefully

soon, where you can see. how horribly perfectionists

I am with this picture and I make them, I have

four different people looking at the picture

and then looking at me, making sure everything

is perfectly in place. And I tell them, I'm like,

make sure it's perfect. Make sure it's perfect.

So they take a picture, they readjust, they take

a picture, they readjust, they take a picture,

they readjust until finally we all agreed that

it was absolutely perfect. Um, so when I do shoots

that copy, you know, different pop culture things

or different comic book covers, um, I want to

get it absolutely perfect. That's one thing that

I really will not stray from, hopefully. Um,

and J. Scott Campbell said I got pretty close.

So I mean, that made me pretty proud and giddy

and squeal a lot. Now is Spidey your favorite

kind of, is his universe your favorite kind of

to cosplay around in? Or is that just one of

your favorites? Oh no, no. He's my absolute favorite.

I've always been a Spider -Man fan ever since

I was a little girl. Psylocke was my favorite

female superhero, but Spider -Man had my heart.

I, ever since I was a little girl, I was like,

Spider -Man! Spider -Man! I would watch the um...

the cartoon, the Spider -Man animated series,

which is actually my ringtone. And I get really

upset when no one knows what it's from. I'm like,

guys, guys, look what I found. And I play my

ringtone for them. And they're like, what? What

is that? And I'm like, it's this 90s Spider -Man

theme. You don't know what that is? My heart

breaks. And ever since then, like, Fell in love

with MJ with black hat because that was the first

time I ever met her was when she was in the cartoon

and then later on I got to I got to read about

her in the comics and you know play her in the

video games and stuff and Her and MJ both are

pretty much tied with my favorite females in

that universe You know, I like them for their

different reasons And plus I have a huge Crush

on spider -man like I will take a picture of

my desk area To show you but literally like I

have Boba Fett and I have Raphael But the majority

of it is like spider -man MJ MJ black hat spider

-man spider -man spider -man Yeah Which spider

-man do you prefer totally McGuire or Andrew

Garfield Andrew Garfield I love him I Don't blame

Toby Maguire for the Spider -Man that he plays,

but I have to say I am not a fan of the first

three films at all. I don't like how they portrayed

Spider -Man. I really didn't like, you know,

the New Goblin thing. I thought Venom was absolutely

horrible in that. I like the effects though.

The effects were great. The effects were great,

but Just the portrayal. Exactly. I mean, let's

face it, it's Eric Foreman from that 70s show

for crap's sake. And you know what? Topher Grace

himself said, I knew I would be a horrible venom.

But, I mean, as a fanboy, you can't expect him

to refuse that role. Like, honestly, if someone

came up and were like, hey, I want you to be

Black Cat. I mean, I myself know as I don't have

the assets. to play black cats really as as some

other, you know females may and You know, I know

that some fans may Riots because I am Asian and

you know that that's actually a big thing in

the cosplay world, which we may talk about later

But anyway, I'm not gonna refuse that role though

because I love black cat and if someone gives

me a chance to play her Oh, I'm going to play

her So, again, I don't blame him for taking the

part, but he knows that he would make a horrible

Venom, because he's tiny. And, you know, that's

fine. But, you know, Venom, Venom's big, Venom's

beefy, and he's scary. Which, you know, it's

great. It's fine. Whatever. Maybe they'll fix

that in new movies. But I really, really like

Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker. And I love what

they're doing with the new movies. And honestly,

I'm just in love with Emma Stone. So anything

that she does, I worship. The funniest thing

was the first thing I think I ever saw her in

was a very, very short -lived unresolved Fox

television series called Drive. I think it was

2003. It was with her. And actually, her father

in that was Doc Connors from Spidey 2. Dylan

Baker, so that's that's a that's an interesting

fun fact for everybody Alright, so you said you

are Asian. How does that play into your choices

to do costumes? It doesn't At first well, I know

you know what I still get really paranoid about

certain costumes that I do because as an ethnic

cosplayer it is really hard sometimes, especially

with the internet trolls and people being really

critical about you because I have friends from

all ethnicities, all races who cosplay everyone.

But one thing that we all have in common is that

we've all gotten those comments. This person

is not Asian. This person is not black. This

person is a girl. This person is a boy. You know,

the basic nitpicky, you can't cosplay this because

you don't look like this. But the thing that

people forget is it's cosplay. Like, we do this

for fun. We do this because we enjoy embodying

the characters and seeing what we can transform

ourselves into. I mean, we base ourselves off

of fictional characters, fictional comic characters,

fictional game characters. So... It's not like

it's not real guys. It's not even that serious

And we enjoy it this makes us happy what doesn't

make us happy is hearing that you know, we can't

do it because We're different Yeah, that's not

cool I mean, you know if you're doing what your

love what you love if you know people are entitled

to their opinion whether they like it or not,

but You know, when those trolls come out, there's

always the band hammer. Oh, oh, trust me. I think

I abused the band hammer. But I do not tolerate

anyone being negative to me or any of my friends.

Like, heroically fit, he is Ecuadorian. Peter

Parker obviously is not Ecuadorian. But the beautiful

thing is, when he has his mask on, no one says

anything because he makes the most perfect Spider

-Man because he is fit and it shows and his body

is amazing and when that mask is on everyone's

like oh my god that's Spider -Man's amazing blah

blah blah I posted one picture of him without

the mask on and I got so many horrible comments

just horrible comments and I just Banned everyone

and I don't know if you you read my rant status

about it But yeah, I just I posted something

and I said listen guys This is for fun and if

you say anything to insult me or any of my friends

you do not belong on this page because obviously

You know you are not here for the right reasons

Let's talk about one of your Probably I would

say argument arguably is your most infamous shoot

the Rolling Stone shoot. How did that come about?

Well, I Don't remember exactly how I got the

inspiration for it, but sometimes I have these

little weird epiphanies where an idea will literally

just pop into my head and I'm like, oh no, you

know what I should do that and One day I was

sitting on the computer and I guess I was thinking

of new, oh, I wanted to do a black hat shoot.

I was like, what black hat shoot should I do?

And I had gone to Supercon that year, and I bought

a print from an artist that works for Xenoscope,

and I'm horrible because I can't remember the

name right now, but he drew that. He drew black

hat with in front of a web, and he had, you know,

Spider -Man's hands over her breasts. And I was

like, that's really cool, but I would rather

do it in the form of, you know, Janet Jackson's

Rolling Stones cover, because that was so dramatic

and beautifully done. I always thought it was

very classy. Like, I know that it seems very

risque, which it definitely is, but... Hersh

her cover was done in such a tasteful way that

I always loved it. I always thought it was amazing

so I Thought that would be a neat little shoot

to do and it blew up Everyone seemed to like

it. You know there were the naysayers saying

that oh, this is not cosplay This is just someone

you know blah blah blah, and I'm like hey It

is cosplay you just can't see the rest of the

of the costume so hush Yeah, there was The the

general photo that I've seen a lot is just a

straight -on shot, but there was another one

where Heroically fits in that with you, right?

There's another image of the two of you where

he's like peeking out from behind you. Yes. And

I shared that with a friend of mine with JT from

Saskatoon. I shared that with him and in the

caption I put Spidey's in so much trouble. Yeah,

that actually, it was a full shoot. So, you know,

it started off with, you know, me in the cat

suit. And then it turned a little risque because

obviously we had to get the suit off. So, you

know, there were some images of Spider -Man,

you know, unzipping, and there were some gloves

coming off, and it turned into a little bit of

a boudoir shoe, which, I mean, if some of the

listeners don't know what boudoir is, it's, you

know, the more risque shoots. It's a lot of lingerie,

it's a lot of bedroom things, but done in a tasteful

manner. I mix that and cosplaying a lot you will

see in my pictures. I do pin -up cosplaying and

I do boudoir cosplaying Yeah, I've noticed a

lot of Mary Jane in Spidey's suit. Yes Yes Usually

usually sitting on a bed with some sort of plush

spider -man. Oh, yes. I have way too many plush

spider -mans There are a lot there's actually

I don't know if you've ever seen the the ty one

where it's it's just this fat little ball spider

-man And he's got tiny little arms and legs.

I have a super mini one of that I have a tiny

one of that and then I have a huge one of that

and they're all the same thing is it's just different

sizes and then I have Two different spider -mans

with gigantic heads And I just have a whole bunch

of plushie spider -mans and now I have Just a

lot of toys and I like incorporating them in

shoots So if I have a shoe and I'm like, oh,

you know what I should put this in it so I did

this shoot one time where I call it a few of

my favorite things I think and it's just me surrounded

by just some of my geeky toys and comic books

I try to put more in but they won't fit in the

picture. So I had to cut it out a little bit

but yeah the first time I got to wear the spider

suit I was like oh I want to do this a lot and

I always said that I wouldn't do spider -girl

because my favorite spider -girl is Mayday Parker

and you know she's she's spider -man's daughter

and since I have it such a huge crush on spider

-man I thought it would be weird to cosplay his

daughter but that's just me I mean because I

have all these weird fantasies about, you know,

Spider -Man, which, you know, we won't talk about,

but I don't want to think about those while I'm

cosplaying his daughter. That's just weird. And

I don't want to go there. What other what other

costumes do you have coming up this year? Well,

Megacons coming up soon in March. And right now

I'm working on Two brand new costumes That I've

never worn before One is actually I'm gonna be

announcing these soon. So I guess you you will

have the exclusive so yay One is actually Scar

from you know, the Lion King. I'm doing a rule

63 version of him. So I will be female scar And

I'm really excited about that. I got all my pieces.

I just got to put them together. He's always

been my favorite Disney villain, because he is

so extremely villainous. Like, how many villains

do you see who actually just straight up kill

the good guy without saying an evil plan or anything?

They're just like, hey. Not many. Exactly. So

he's. He's pretty badass in my opinion And then

the other one is for the Moshi party that's happening

Saturday night, and I'm doing that with a group

So I'm not gonna announce that one yet because

I'm not sure When the other members of the group

want that one announced, but it's gonna be pretty

adorable and awesome. Just saying The other costumes

that I'm doing are I'm doing the the actual suits

robe because before I had the casual robe which

was just a shirt and pants which my wifey Amber

win She's my best friend who I started cosplaying

with She wore to animate and we have pictures

of her on my page on her page She wore my real

costume then But I decided I wanted to do the

actual suits. The only problem is A, I don't

have a sewing machine. And B, I'm just really

intimidated by making suits right now. But I

had this amazing friend named Loretta who made

the silox that I just recently put up. And I

asked her if she would be willing to try out

making a rogue costume. And she's always looking

for new projects and she hasn't made that many

suits like that before. So she was really excited

to try it out. And I got it in the mail yesterday,

and it looks so amazing. And I'll be posting

pictures soon, but I'm really excited to wear

it out. Like, it looks so awesome. Let's hope

Heroically Fit has a Gambit costume to go along

with it. Unfortunately, he does not. I've been

trying to convince him to do Gambit for the longest

time, and I know he wants to. But, um... I don't

know if I'm allowed to announce his costumes

for him, but I'm going to do it anyway. Yeah,

no, you don't have to do that. No. Okay, well.

I like it. Okay. I will say that he's planning

on shaving his head for Megacon, so he's doing

a lot of bald cosplays. That's all I'm saying,

though. Bald and buff, which I think a couple

of people can guess at least one of these cosplays.

If you had said I patched I could guess Just

think of bald buff guys, maybe someone who just

recently put out a movie But yeah, he's doing

one of those and then someone else from a video

game and that's all I'll say because I don't

want him to get mad at me for giving away his

cosplays because I don't know if he does secret

cosplays, but It's not my place to give them

away if they are secret, so anyway. He's not

doing Gambit. I do have a couple of friends who

are coming to Megacon with Gambit though, so

hopefully I'll get to shoot with them and do

some awesome things, so yeah. Very cool, very

cool. If you could give any advice to beginners

for cosplay, what would your advice be? Don't

be afraid. Don't think that you have to spend

a million dollars on cosplay And don't be afraid

to ask questions. I know the thing that I get

from a lot of new cosplayers is I'm not experienced.

I can't do that. You know, I really want to do

this costume But I know I can't because I'm not

that body type or I'm not the race or I just

don't know how to do this I don't have the money

for this and what I always tell them is What's

your favorite character? If that's your favorite

character, do it. Don't worry about what anyone

says because honestly, there's always gonna be

trolls and there's always gonna be haters. What

there's also always gonna be is support. love

from this community because I know that there's

a lot of negativity and hate at times but I have

met some of the most amazing people in my entire

life going to these conventions and online and

from I mean different countries I get the I get

cosplay girls from Australia from London all

over messaging me saying how much they like me

and it's funny because i'm complete fan girls

of them too so when i get these messages i just

start screaming and i'm like oh my god this person

messaged me yeah um but and they always help

me out because i'm like hey i know you're really

good with armor hey i know you're really good

with prosthetics give me advice tell me what

to do and they'll be like go to this website

this website this website check out this material

And a lot of cosplayers will do that. They will

help you out. I've done it before. I get people

saying, hey, you know, I know that you just helped

me out with this, but can you tell me where you

get your contacts from? Can you tell me what

I can do for this, this, and this? And I'm like,

yeah, definitely. And I give them different websites.

I honestly tell people that thrift stores are

one of their best friends, because you don't

know how many cosplays that I've found. By going

to thrift stores, finding old worn out clothes,

ugly clothes, clothes that, you know, you would

probably never wear. But for a cosplay, they

were great. And you could just take a whole bunch

of different pieces of clothes, cut them up,

sew them, glue them, you know, stick some armor

on them. And all of a sudden, boom, you got a

cosplay. It's amazing magic. How did the idea

for the post apocalyptic Powerpuff Girls come

along? That was actually a collaborative idea

between Jenny Lorenzo from Geekasm and myself.

I don't remember who had the original idea, but

I know both of us thought, hey, post -apocalyptic

Powerpuff Girls, that would be awesome. Then

Jenny herself was the one that was like, no,

I want to do this photo shoot. So I was like,

all right. And when I'm not in front of the camera,

I am a artistic director on a lot of shoots.

So I got together all the people who would be

in it. I let them know what I wanted their costumes

to look like. I put together certain pieces for

them, like Professor Utonium's eye patch. I didn't

make that. I painted an X on an eye patch. Okay,

I'm not that special. But it was the basic idea

of Jenny saying I want this to be epic and us

working together to get some of the best cosplayers

that I have ever worked with they're fantastic

and putting together that awesome shoot which

was Both awesome and horrible at the same time

because we live in Miami Yeah, so it's always

like a million degrees outside Yeah, that's true.

So when you do outdoor photo shoots it can get

really really hot and unfortunately on that day

our photographer was sick but she was a trooper

so she still came out. We picked a location that

was a little hard to find so a couple of people

got lost so some of us had to wait out in the

hot sun for a really long time and then since

we did have so many people involved in that shoot

and we had so many different shots that we had

to get We were outside for hours, and unfortunately,

everyone forgot water. Like, we didn't plan out

the shoot as well as we should have, but we got

the shots that we needed to, and in the end,

it was just amazing. So, as much as we suffered

through it, it was awesome. And I thank Jenny

for having that awesome idea to put it all together.

And I think all the other cosplayers that were

involved in that, you know, Herokli Fit was...

Rick, who is the red one. So he was, yet again,

involved in my shoots, because I always, you

know, drag him along with me. Then there's Dewy

Chong cosplay, which you can check him out. I

just posted one of his pictures also, him as

Jack Frost. And then he was Butch, the green

one. Jenny Lorenzo was also Buttercup. And then

Juliet, she was Bubbles. Then Romeo was Boomer

and then we had rage custom creations as our

awesome professor utonium and he's the one who

supplied all the gigantic guns so He's most of

the reason why the shoot was so badass And of

course your blossom yes, of course I'm blossom

which I did You know a regular blossom costumes

before because she was all always my favorite

and I loved her huge bow So I've done her before

So that bow is the same one that I used for my

other costume. It's just, you know, I had to

post -apocalyptic the rest of it up. Right, right.

Did you also do bubbles at one point? No, I didn't

do bubbles. My friend did bubbles, but I did.

Right. I've done Harley Quinn. I've done Harley

Quinn a lot. Oh, OK. Yeah. So I had worn the

blonde pigtails, but for a different thing. Well,

the reason why I ask is because there's, and

forgive me for not knowing, there's a similar

one to Blossom where it's a purple sports bra

type costume with purple wig. That is Psylocke.

Oh, okay, that's Psylocke. I'm sorry. That is

my punk rock version of Psylocke. Okay, as you

can see I do a lot of different versions of the

costumes Because yeah, I like to branch out sometimes

and I get these Like I said, I get weird epiphanies

where I'm like, oh, you know what? I should do

this version of the costume and Then it just

happens. So yeah, I did do a punk rock version

of Psylocke and that's Probably what you see

Yeah, so as a as a Pokemon cosplay how do you

fit in that little ball? You've done Charizard

You've done Charmander you have any plans to

do any other ones um I Thought about it, but

honestly Charmander just has my heart And I just

can't think of doing any other Pokemon. Obviously,

I love other Pokemon. And it's a little ridiculous

watching me play it, because when I see a new

Pokemon that I have no idea what it is, but it's

absolutely adorable, I will spend a good five

minutes just looking at it saying, oh my God,

look at it. Look at its eyes. That's so crazy.

Oh, it's so cute. And I'll take pictures of it

and post it and be like, guys, look at this adorable

freaking Pokemon. It's awesome. And then I'll

just re fight it over and over again just so

I can see how adorable it is. But ever since

I first saw Pokemon, started playing Pokemon,

had the cards, Charmander was my favorite and

still is. He's actually the background of my

computer. And I'm thinking of getting a Charmander.

tattoo Some people think it is a little weird

but trust me if you saw the design I was thinking

of you would also think that it was cool. So

I Found a design online that I really really

really liked and I think it's gonna look amazing

as a tattoo I promise it does not look cheesy

or anything Alright, so if you had to pick who

would be your favorite voice of Mary Jane Watson?

My favorite voice of Mary Jane Watson? Yeah Like

Tara Strong, Kali Wahlgren Jennifer Hale You're

gonna think I'm such a bad nerd, but I'm really

bad with voice actors Like I really am the only

ones I really pay attention to are like I loved

Mark Hamill as the Joker. Like he is the Joker

to me. So I know about him. But as far as other

voice actors, like I know Richard Horvitz. And

as far as my favorite characters, like I don't

really pay attention to their voices very often

because I just see them as the characters. And

I know that's absolutely horrible, but I'm always

like, oh, look, it's MJ. I don't see it's Tara

Strong as MJ. So I mean I know that makes me

a bad geek and I'm really sorry but No, it doesn't

make you a bad geek is it's just one of those

things cuz I'm so used to paying attention to

it and Especially with Spidey 94 and Jennifer

Hale doing black cat. That's every time I see

black cat That's all I ever hear in my head is

Jennifer Hale's voice I know I know and I know

that I have a lot of friends who like pay attention

to the voice actors and things like that, but

Whenever I watch cartoons, I'm really bad. I

just I zone out and I'm like, oh look spider

-man's talking to this person spider -man's talking

to MJ and there's black hat and they're awesome

And I've never really had a voice actor where

I was like, wow, that voice actor is absolutely

horrible Let me see who that is There are times

though when I'll be watching a movie or something

like that and I'll hear the voice and I'll be

like that voice sounds really familiar Let me

Wikipedia that real quick like when I was watching

um I don't know if you ever saw the Ninja Turtle

movie that they came out with I think it it wasn't

that long ago but it was really good 2007 yeah

the um are you talking about the direct uh the

CGI one um I don't know if it was CGI I know

it was a cartoon one but Where Raph is the Street

Avenger or something? Yes, that one! Yeah, that

was 2007. Ah, I love that one! I'm sorry. I got

really fangirly over it because I loved how they

made the characters do exactly what they would

do if their leader was gone. I loved how Donny

was tech support. I thought that was so funny.

It's really funny because Heroically Fit's favorite

turtle is Michelangelo. And we do birthday parties

a lot. And he does birthday parties as Spider

-Man. And I think he's done a couple as like

one time he was the Mad Hatter. And he has a

bad habit of getting the kids all riled up so

they start beating up on him. So when I saw that

Mikey... was doing birthday parties, and the

kids were beating up on him. I'm like, oh my

gosh, look, it's so perfect. It's you. And he

was like, oh. And then my favorite turtle was

Raph. And I love how he didn't just sit around

waiting for Leonardo to come back. He was like,

no, screw this. I'm going to take this into my

own hands. I'm going to get some straight vengeance

on these bad guys. Because he would totally do

that, and I would totally do that. I'd be like,

no, I don't care if my leader is gone. I'm still

going to go, and I'm going to defend the people

of the city. Because whatever, and then he just

turned into Turtle Batman. Yeah, that's pretty

much right. Yeah, exactly. But when I was watching

the movie, I heard two different voices, or actually

a couple of different voices, where I was like,

oh my god, that sounds like Ziyi Zhang, which

she was in it. And then I heard Patrick Stewart's

voice, and I was like, oh my gosh, they actually

had a group of pretty awesome actors. voicing

for it, and I was very proud of that. But I was

like, no, I'm fairly certain that's Patrick Stewart.

And hopefully it's like, really? And I'm like,

no, I think it is. And we looked it up, and yeah,

Patrick Stewart's on it. It's pretty awesome.

Any plans for April O 'Neil? Actually, yeah.

Really? Yeah. I was actually planning on doing

her a little bit ago and I wanted to do the samurai

suit that she has in that movie because I thought

it was a really cool take on her and I'm like

oh look she's actually fighting and she's really

cool and she's a she's a badass samurai that's

awesome so I really wanted to do that suit but

then one of my friends was actually selling her

April O 'Neil jumpsuit and I'm like you know

what Why don't I try doing April O 'Neil like

the jumpsuit version because why not um? She's

I mean she's basically giving it away, and I

love Ninja Turtles, and I love being a redhead

so let's do this real quick So I'm going to do

the jumpsuit version of her first, and then I'm

going to work on the samurai costume. No one's

going to know who I am. They're probably all

going to think I'm the bride from Kill Bill.

But you know, that's fine. There's going to be

those select few that are like, oh my gosh, samurai

April O 'Neill. And I'm going to be like, yeah,

awesome. Put them to this interview because you

heard it here first, folks. Exactly. If you see

me in a yellow samurai suit, don't think that

I'm the bride from Kill Bill, because I'm not.

I can guarantee you I'm not. All right. Where

can the people interact with you online? I know

you have Instagram. I know you have Facebook.

Are you on Twitter yet, or are you just not into

Twitter? I will so never be on Twitter. Really?

Why? I honestly, there's nothing about Twitter

that really attracts me. I don't like a that

I have limited words because I tend to go on

rants a lot. So I like having my space. to write

things, which is what I have Facebook for. I

have Facebook for my rants and, you know, for

the pictures that I put up and, you know, links

to funny things. And then I have my Instagram

where, you know, I also put up pictures from

behind the scenes of photo shoots and things.

And then I also put up videos and things, which

I love doing videos because I'm always doing

weird nerdy things that. I want you guys to see

how ridiculous I can be. Because everyone should

know how ridiculous I can be. It gets a bit silly.

I'm always talking about shenanigans on my page.

And trust me, there are some shenanigans to be

had. But those are those are the two big ones.

I mean you can always email me, but that's that's

boring So yeah, just go to my Facebook page,

you know www .facebook .com Madmo Madigan and

then you can find me on Instagram Madmo Madigan

No spaces just straight Madmo Madigan Very cool.

Very cool. Well, I think we're gonna close out
