Fall 2012 TV Preview

Hey, this is Steve Blum, and you are listening

to the Geekcast Radio Network. And welcome to

the GeekCast Radio Special, where we're talking

about the TV shows of the fallen winter seasons.

Joining me in this episode is... DFJ and Mike.

And the long overdue return of... Optimus Solo.

Don't interrupt him, it's important. Yes, I will

leave again for months at a time. Take over your

show, that's all. And the telecast will suffer.

And then everybody will blame Mike. No, blame

me. Alright, so, yes. We did this last year.

We previewed the new season of mostly the network

shows. I think at the end of the podcast, before

we close, we'll talk about basic cable stuff

that we're watching. Or stuff that we're looking

forward to. Or at least Mike will. Well, you

know you watch a bunch of reality, but you don't

lie. Reality TV blows chunks. Oh No, you know

between collection intervention and toy hunter

to start checking out those shows. I've never

seen any of them. You know what? reality shows

are brain cancer for people I Don't like that

the one show was I haven't seen any of them But

it seems like it suggested that you need an intervention

or that it's a problem if you collect things

or if you have toys collection intervention essentially

really quickly going off on a tangent here collection

intervention is showcasing toy collectors that

have way too much nonsense you can never have

too much no no no two thousand pieces that sprawl

over your entire house that's that's not too

much that's a toy hoarder that's my basement

Okay, but all right, but that's confined to one

area of the house only because it's all very

neatly packed away if it was open That's that

that's the other part of collection intervention,

you know some of these people will have Garages

full of toys and boxes that they've never opened

or don't even remember what they have and their

wives are their husbands or whatever Like yeah,

we need more space or yes We're up to it up to

our ass end in debt. They should have garage

sales and they should invite me Anyway So yes,

that's that's collection intervention. We're

basically talking about the main network channels

in the scratch. Yes ABC CBS NBC Fox and the CW

Yes, I gotta say I I don't know I'm not impressed

with I'm impressed with maybe one or two new

shows from there's a surprise Well, no, I'm I'm

I'm not trying to be negative, but it's like

okay last year there was like six total and it

was more so like one or two from each network

and that's probably gonna be the same way it

is this year as well but there isn't like like

I don't have a favorite network overall um I'm

not watching ABC for every single piece of of

show that they put out um same thing for CBS

Fox and and all that um so I don't know what

do you mean I have no idea what that meant well

like I'm not like, I'm not watching every single

news show or every single returning show that

one network puts out. No, I don't think any of

it would. You know, I get, I choose the shows

that I like from each one of the networks and

that averages out to maybe five or ten shows

plus whatever's returning, so. Sounds pretty

normal. Yeah, I guess. So, where are we starting?

We're gonna start with ABC and up next you're

gonna hear some clips from three new new ABC

shows coming in the fall of 2012 going into 2013

three different clips from ABC shows 666 Park

Avenue last resort in Nashville Optimus solo,

what's what's on ABC's schedule for 2012 2013?

Well, first of all, what is not on their schedule?

Just for those of you that were maybe watching

shows last year and maybe you aren't keeping

up with the news on what got canceled or what

didn't get picked up, et cetera. If you were

fans of the following shows, you're out of luck

because they're no longer playing on ABC. That

would be Pan Am, Charlie's Angels, Work It, yikes,

Missing, Cougar Town, which got switched to TBS

or TNT. TBS. Man Up. the river and gcb so those

will no longer be airing on abc i didn't watch

any of those so i am not upset no did you watch

the river a couple times no not at all didn't

care i thought a couple people i knew watched

that and were kind of into it but that was about

the only one i even remember that people somewhat

watched out of that group so i called all of

these cancellations yeah before they ever happened

i was like oh these are gonna die yeah immediately

and I don't see much hope for the replacements

this year. There are some, of course, just regular

mainstays or shows that did survive last year

or the last couple years that will be back on

ABC. So if you're fans of Castle, you can watch

that on Monday nights. Happy Endings or Don't

Trust the Bee in Apartment 23. Private practice

are all on Tuesdays. Wednesdays you still have

the middle suburgatory and modern family Thursday

you have Grey's Anatomy and scandal and then

Friday I watched Shark Tank, but that's more

of a reality show but coming Yeah, Shark Tank's

awesome, but coming in November. That's when

you will see last man standing this year on Fridays

I Think isn't that because they're reviving their

their yeah Yeah, so Last Man Standing will be

on Friday starting in November. I just wanted

to bring that up. And then the other big switch,

um, joining once upon a time on Sunday, they're

moving Revenge to Sunday. That must suck for

you. Um, no, I mean, it'll be fine. I just said

the DVR, so it doesn't really matter what day

it's on for me. I'm just hoping that at least

it can, you know, do all right in the ratings.

It doesn't seem to make... I know they move stuff

around sometimes to try to increase their ratings,

but Revenge was doing well where it was, so I'm

not... quite sure what the reasoning was there

it was but the other thing is i i i see why abc

did it um abc back oh geez between 2001 and 2006

ran alias in that 9 p .m slot or no they actually

ran it in the 10 p .m slot on sundays but um

I think what they're doing here is they're trying

to get back their Sunday night drama, primetime

type of shows where you have Once Upon a Time

at Eight, Revenge at Nine, and the new show,

which we'll talk about here in a bit, 666 Park

Avenue. So they're trying to set up that Sunday

block that they used to have with Alias a number

of years ago, and also Sunday Nights was Desperate

Housewives for a long time. So you got to fill

that spot and I think that's where Revenge fits

in very nicely. Not counting the new shows that

we haven't talked about yet. For me on ABC, I

will continue to tune in to Shark Tank. I will

watch Last Man Standing and I will watch Revenge.

I don't know if any of the shows you guys will

be checking out or not. What about you, Steve?

What are you checking out? What are you still

going to watch out of the returning stuff? Once

Upon a Time, which I think I got knocked down

to the 8 o 'clock time slot so that works better.

um if it i'm pretty sure do get knocked down

but um uh shark tank last man standing what would

you do or the um pretty much the four that i

watch on abc through the week Mike, are you watching

anything on ABC from the returning shows? From

the returning ones? Last Man Standing. I do want

to check Revenge out, but it either needs to

be added to Netflix or I need to go ahead and

get the Season 1 DVD first. I really do want

to check that show out. I haven't had a chance

to as of yet. So I'm still I know you've sung

its praises and I'm sure it looks like a really

damn good show. It actually worked out well for

me because I got so busy and I had never ended

up watching the final four episodes of season

one until the last week and a half. So now I've

seen the last four episodes, the season finale

of last year, right in time for it to start up

again. So that was kind of good because now I'm

back in the mood to watch it again. So yeah,

that was probably my favorite new show last year.

So I'm very happy that it survived and that even

if it's on Sunday, I'll still watch it. We can

get into the new shows, I guess. Let's start

with the comedies or the sitcoms, which I usually

don't check out, but maybe some of you guys will.

There's the family tools. There's one called,

and we'll talk about details in a second. There's

the neighbors, Malibu country, and how to live

with your parents for the rest of your life.

They're playing most of these on the same day.

And just to give you a little bit of a breakdown,

family tools is centers on a man who is forced

to take over his father's family business instead

of following his dreams. It's interesting, I

guess, concept. It has the guy from what's the

old guy from on that one, J .K. Simmons. Oh,

yeah. Yeah. So, you know, he's a great actor,

so that maybe could carry it, but Don't know

about your guys thoughts for that one, but that

one looks kind of hokey to me I'll check it out.

Maybe one or two episodes, but it's probably

not something I'm gonna watch a full season I

don't know a lot of the comedies for me a lot

of the new comedies are just kind of like they're

there Yeah, I don't I mean like they're trying

too hard though. Well, where's the old comedies

of the 90s and the 80s? You just kind of got

it these it seems like they're trying to recapture

it and failing miserably And this one's from

the guy that did My Name is Earl, and it almost

has that feel to it. And I didn't like that show.

I didn't either. So even though I like JK Sims,

I don't have high hopes for the family tools.

I think that's not going to last. What about

Malibu Country? Malibu Country? See, Reba has

a huge following. Yes, she does. Reva McIntyre

and Lily Tomlin are probably the two biggest

names on there and it's about a mother who moves

her kids to Malibu to try and restart her singing

career. Now when you put Reva in a show you get

you know all the country music fans you get a

whole section of the country that will follow

that so that seems to always give it a shot.

I mean I don't know about you know ABC primetime

type stuff but I mean I'm not gonna watch it.

Again, it's probably something for me that's

going to end up going, you know, if it gets picked

up for longer than one season, it's probably

going to be something where, you know, if it

gets picked up enough for syndication, I'll probably

catch it when it airs on TBS seven years from

now. I see it like on daytime, like two, you

know, three o 'clock in the afternoon or two

o 'clock in the afternoon on some type of syndicated

channel. Yeah. People catching repeats or something

like that. I won't mind seeing it because I've

seen her other show that's on On syndication,

but it's not one that I'm gonna seek out and

go out of my way to see The neighbors is that

the other one? Yeah, that's the one where like

there's it looks like a modern -day attempt to

do elf I don't know. I only saw one clip of it

because a lot a lot of those sites aren't listing

it but uh it seemed like there was like neighbors

that moved in next door to somebody or there's

neighbors living next door or i mean aliens living

next door excuse me um some type of alien presence

there and there's kids involved and it's a sitcom

so i don't it sounds like elf to me huh Yeah,

I think I did see an ad on that on ABC, but I

just like saw it in passing. I was like, oh,

okay. How do you live with your parents for the

rest of your life? I get that guy from Everybody

Loves Raymond. Brad Garrett? Yeah, Brad Garrett.

I don't know. It's about a recently divorced

single mother who has to move back in with her

rather crazy parents and it just doesn't seem

to be anything I can relate to. It yeah, I don't

really care on that one either. Yeah, it's probably

not something I'm gonna check out either. It

seems like Everybody's everybody that does a

sitcom or a comedy they find one well -known

person And they just try to make a show around

it and hope that that one person can carry it

Yeah, you know what I mean like this It's right

here Yeah, like JK Simmons, Brad Garrett, Reeva

McIntyre, like they're all just, I mean, I know

there's some other cast members and some other

well -known people around it, but it's not like

that ensemble thing that you used to get with

a lot of the other sitcoms that were successful

from the past. It's like throw one person and

see how it works. And yeah, it worked with Tim

Allen last year. That's a special situation.

Well, all he did was take Home Improvement and

reverse it. Yeah. But I mean, you have to have

a special person to carry it. You can't just

do that a lot like a lot of times you need an

ensemble like that's why Seinfeld worked that's

why friends worked that's why you know a lot

of those shows worked was because you had a great

ensemble cast you can't just have one person

and just try to make jokes around them i don't

know um and then there's some dramas and or the

non -sitcom stuff here. A couple of them we mentioned

during this podcast will probably be mid -season

replacements or later starts, so they're not

all gonna start right away. And two of those

would be Red Widow and Zero Hour. Red Widow is

an organized crime, we have a couple of those

coming this year on different channels, but this

one's like an organized crime dealio, and Zero

Hour to me looks like a... Like national treasure

of the TV series. It's it's well. Getting into

it anyway, the the Red Widow I have no interest

in because I don't care for any of the. Whether

it be police or crime or whatever, I don't care

for any of those type shows and. Granted, it's

you know, a crime one, but it's still. It's a

lot of the same crap that's on TV now, so I don't

see that staying around and zero hour. That's

hard to say. Being that it's from the creator

of prison break. Yeah It looks interesting. I

mean, it looks interesting. I'm hoping it's good

because I loved prison break but a couple of

the guys from prison break that wrote the series

also went on to do breaking or breakout Kings

and That's kind of gone by the wayside so You

know, with Red Widow, I'm surprised. I thought

with the recent trend of, like, some of the cap

shows fading away, you know, we've seen some

of the law and orders, CSIs, et cetera, kind

of fail and fall away. And a lot of the other

ones that try to come in have failed. I thought

we'd kind of see and I guess we see a little

bit of it with this year, but a move away from,

you know, cap show after cap show after cap show.

So at least for maybe CES. Mean a lot of channels

are moving away from it. So a red widow I guess

is there one kind of Attempt to go in there and

it I guess it's a little different take because

it's more of a crime syndicate thing But yeah,

I can see that just be another people writing

it off as another one zero hour I'm interested

to see them for me. What does it seems like the

return of Anthony Edwards to prime time? No,

I haven't seen him since ER are yeah So I I think

it's a decent idea You know, there's conspiracy

involved. There's a little mystery Like I said,

there's a tiny tiny bit of like a national treasure

type without the like kind of hoaxiness even

though I like what it's also got a lot of the

Prison break vibe to it though. Yeah, it's like

it's like a more mature national treasure type

thing As far as the whole conspiracy and treasure

hunt type deal and let's all go down to Nashville

I will at least give Zero Hour a chance. Nashville,

if I give it a chance, it'll only be because

of Hayden Panettieri. I can see this being a

big hit though. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I can too. With

the music movement, with country music in that

part of the globe. You know, they'll latch onto

it with all the kids that like Glee and like

all the other musical types of things. I can

see it with a little drama mixed in there. Yeah.

You know, it's kind of like that. What was the

Broadway smash? Was it smash? Yeah. It's kind

of like that type of vibe, but in Nashville.

Yeah. I may watch the first episode, but I don't

think it's something I'd follow consistently.

because the other thing is there's so many shows

from all the different networks that I like that

are coming back so it's like there's very for

me there's very little room for a new show or

multiple new shows yeah you kind of got to pick

and choose your highlights and just go with them

and the others unless the other ones are to me

it's like you pick your first couple or your

one or two from each station that you're gonna

give a chance right from the beginning because

a lot of those You're not gonna stick with and

the other shows it's like you're not gonna watch

unless all of a sudden They're catching on and

it seems like it should be something you watch.

Yeah There's a couple two more dramas on ABC

one is the one you mentioned before 666 Park

Avenue, which I'm looking forward to that actually

stars the magnificent Terry O 'Quinn from both

lost and Hawaii five. Oh, yes, the only thing

that makes me shy away from this one is the supernatural

aspect of it well ABC is trying to recapture

lost and all that other stuff so but it's been

done yeah I don't mean supernatural in like I

mean I think it almost is gonna go the supernatural

route to like the more like horror type paranormal

type supernatural not You know like some of the

other like not like supernatural not like lost

Like the different way to it and that kind of

it reminds me of that show that movie with Al

Pacino Which one Oh dad no, I can see something

like I could definitely see it If that's the

way they're going with it, I could definitely

see a version of Devil's Advocate as a TV series.

I could definitely see that. I mean, basically,

Terry O 'Quinn and Vanessa Williams play a couple

that own this hotel, and they handpick who gets

to live there. And once you're in there, there's

all kinds of weird, strange occurrences that

are happening to you. And it seems, like I said,

supernatural, mysterious type aura to it. But

I don't know. Last resort I'm actually probably

out of all the ABC shows. That's the one I'm

most looking forward to Number one you have Andre

Brower. Yeah. Yeah to it's just an interesting

Concept concept. I'm gonna read you the plot

here. It's set in the future and follows the

crew of a US submarine Who's become fugitives

because they've refused to fire their missiles

and blow up Pakistan So now the US has turned

against them. And then in order to try to survive,

they established themselves as their own nation

on a remote island. So you have a little lost

vibe, you have a little military aspect to it.

It could be interesting. In 1972, a crack team

of commandoes promptly escaped a prison and now

they are men for hire. That's the first thing

I thought of was the A -Team as soon as you read

that description. All right, so overall, what

do we think of ABC for 2012 -2013? Well, I Think

it's gonna have to rely on some of the returning

shows. Oh, yeah, we have a lot of them Yeah,

we have a supernatural last man standing. We

have revenge some of that stuff. So they're gonna

gonna have to carry ABC but I don't know. I can

see some other channels kind of outdoing them

this year unless some of these really hit. Like

they're going to have to have Nashville hit even

if I don't watch it. I'd like to see Zero Hour

and Last Resort take off. You you you have a

lot of big names coming in here. I mean if you

you talk about Reba you talk about Brad Garrett

Terry O 'Quinn Anthony Edwards Andre Broward

Hayden Panettieri so you bring it in a lot of

people and There's so many new things that if

one or two of them stick they'll be alright Yeah,

I'm with Steve. I'm hoping for the last resort

and and for zero hour For me, I'm looking forward

to Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue just to see.

I usually don't get into the supernatural type

of shows just because I just don't. I could not

grasp loss past the plane crash. I've tried.

I just couldn't. You are missing out. I've tried.

I just couldn't. And then at the end, they all

went to Purgatory. Lovely. I know. I know. I

the cut from 2011 -2012. Well, there was a couple

big ones there and then a couple not so big ones

I mean we all predicted Rob was gonna get cancelled

very quickly So that's nice NY's 22 is just another

one of those cop shows that stood no chance.

I don't think How many big names you throw at

it? I know a lot of people like that gifted man

It was one of them I like the gifted man, but

I knew it was gonna last Yeah, I mean some shows

like even if they're good. There's just so much

going against them or you know it's so hard to

make it that they just kind of get lost in the

shuffle the big one that i saw cancelled obviously

would be csi miami we thank god we discussed

that at least one of them was not going to survive

we just didn't know which one it would and unforgettable

i keep hearing rumors i keep hearing rumors too

that it's going to come back But I couldn't find

anything like like, you know in stone about it

coming back, right? They may bring it back as

a midseason replacement And give it a run, huh?

It's on life support. Yes, pretty much. Yes,

it'll choke. Yeah But good no, well what I was

gonna say was I'm Ever since NYPD Blue, I've

always hated David Caruso. I've never liked his

acting, so I'm glad that CSI Miami was the one

that got cancelled. I don't mind it. CSI has

run its course in my book. Yeah, I need to go

back with the original, the CSI Vegas. I need

to go back and watch the show. I wish, I know

it's probably because of music rights or whatever

else as far as DVD goes, but I know a lot of

the CSI stuff is on DVD, but I wish a lot of

these shows that have been around for X number

of years here would get added to Netflix or some

sort of online streaming because... I would love

to be able to go back and watch through CSI and

be able to see it from the beginning and catch

up to now. But as far as what was canceled, I'm

not surprised in the least. I'm not surprised.

I would watch Unforgettable if it was still around,

but I'm not heartbroken that it's gone, if it

is in fact gone. What is returning to CBS? Well,

I'll give you the days and what's returning because

some of them have moved around. Monday, you can

still see How I Met Your Mother. Two Broke Girls,

the new one from last year that did really well.

Mike and Molly. And then, of course, in the late

slot on Monday is Hawaii 5 -0. 5 -0, yes. We're

all happy about that. I'm happy about that. That'll

be the thing I watch on CBS on Mondays. Tuesdays,

you have the NCIS combo of NCIS and NCIS Los

Angeles. Wednesday, of course, is Survivor Night.

Followed, though, by Criminal Minds and CSI.

CSI has never been on the same night as Criminal

Minds. ABC and CBS are, no. I take that back,

I'm sorry. At first, I thought ABC and CBS were

going to be jockeying for comedy night, but they're

not. Well, it seems like CBS is going for a Monday

comedy for the most part with How I Met Your

Mother, Two Broke Girls, and Mike and Mike. And

then they're just leaving Y5O alone because it

did well. Whereas ABC seemed to be like Trump.

up on Friday. So it's interesting that there's

a lot of pairing of like shows on similar days.

You know with NCIS Los Angeles is together with

the Criminal Minds and CSI together. Then Thursday

you have another group of comedy here the Big

Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men and Person

of Interest did survive. Yeah. Barely but it

did. So that's on Thursdays. Friday as you get

CSI New York and Blue Bloods. And Sunday, The

Good Wife, The Mentalist, and of course, The

Amazing Race. Are you guys watching anything

as far as CBS goes for this season as far as

the returning shows, Mike? Of course. Because

my brain just melted at the end of season 9's

finale for NCIS, I have to at least watch the

premiere for season 10. It's been long enough,

so I'm going to say right now, spoilers. You've

been warned. But at the end of NCIS Season 9,

it seemed like one or more of Gibbs' team died

and Ducky had a heart attack on the beach. So

I am most definitely gonna watch at least the

premiere episode of Season 10 for NCIS. NCIS

LA, I like the cast, I like the stories, I watched

it here and there, you know, through Season 3.

I may watch for Season 4. I'm not sure. Why is

there a pussy in the microphone? As far as other

stuff, of course the Big Bang Theory, I always

watch that. That's pretty much it. Big Bang Theory,

the two NCISs, and that's pretty much it for

me as far as the returning stuff. What about

you, Steve? The only thing I watch on CBS is

comedy. It the only like two of these shows like

how I met her mother or two girls the only way

I watch those as if I'm waiting for another show

Mm -hmm. Um, but that's usually what I'll flip

to while I'm waiting The only day I really care

was Thursdays because the Big Bang Theory and

I like two and a half men Not enough to like

search it out, but being it's right after I'll

watch it But that's pretty much it to me. What

every week immediately and that's why five own

criminal minds and then This year it's gonna

totally depend on all the other new shows if

I have time watch person of interest I might

but I've really lost a lot of interest in that

on Charlie and his lifelong gay best friend lupus

Krumholtz and it's got a gay Superman in it.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Michael

Urie. No, Brandon Ralph. Oh, he's in that. I

behind the show. I think it's interesting because

it's from the creators of Will and Grace. Will

and Grace did amazing on NBC and it was a funny,

funny show and now they've come to CBS and the

story is based around, as they said in the little

preview thing that I played before we started

recording this clip, it's essentially based around

the two creators' lives. They said, hey, you

know, we've been friends for 14 years. Let's

write about it. I'm interested to see I don't

know how far to go but I'm interested to see

a couple episodes at least The thing with CBS

is they're gonna have the least amount of new

shows because they have so many mainstays Mainstays

that have returned and so really you're only

seeing two new sitcoms They don't need a lot

because they like you said you guys have you

know, the Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your

Mother or you know, you or whatever it is. So,

I mean they have successful sitcoms already So

those are the only two new ones. They're just

trying to replace a few of the dramas with Unforgettable

and CSI Leaving and a couple of those. I don't

know, they have an interesting lineup of four

dramas. There's only one I'm looking forward

to. Yeah, there's only one that I'm looking forward

to and it sure is Hellion Elementary. Now, elementary

is Lucy Liu and Johnny Lee Miller. It's a modern

take on Sherlock Holmes, where Lucy Liu plays

Watson. I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, but

I will not. I am not a huge Lucy Liu fan. I like

her action roles, but I just can't. It's not

that I have a problem with a female Watson. I

don't care for her. Yeah, that's my problem.

And I don't really like it. I know I'm going

to get... Like, blast me in hate mail for this,

but I don't like any BBC shows. Or BBC -ish shows,

and that's what I get the vibe of from this.

Well, to be fair, Sherlock Holmes was British.

True. But I like the film franchise. I mean,

this isn't like Doctor Who invading America here.

It just seems weird. I like the film franchise

better than, like, that portrayal. Like, if they're

gonna do it, do it like that. But don't... timing

of this. I don't get why, when there's a successful

movie franchise out there, why you would do a

TV show with the same, you know, world, but completely

different. Like that doesn't seem to make sense.

Yeah. And then we have Made in New Jersey. Man,

that girl's kind of freaking hot. Besides that

though, I don't think there's any reason to watch

it. I mean, it's a girl that is displaced from

New Jersey to New York and She's trying to be

in the big law firm, and we've seen this before.

She's hot. Who is it? I don't know if it's Janet

Montgomery, I think. I think so. Yeah. I've never

seen her before, but she looked hot in the trailer.

I just can't see that surviving. No, probably

not. That probably won't last longer than Playboy

Club did. Damn it. Damn you NBC. Then there's

Golden Boy. The only reason that even Mr. McBride's

in that. Mr. what? Chi McBride or Chi McBride.

Oh, Chi McBride. OK. It's a young police officer

becoming and has rise to become police commissioner,

which again, like this is the type of stuff we've

seen before. So I don't see that surviving either.

I'm all about the last one. Vegas But one thing

actually the two the two things that's well the

first thing I saw that sold me on this Michael

chickless I have been a fan of his since I saw

him in the shield in 2002 on FX Anything that

man does I will watch and then Dennis Quaid,

I like him as well Yeah, I will definitely watch

anything he's in and Jason O'Mara actually too

Yeah, it's a drama set in the 60s that it's based

on true story of Ralph Lamb a cowboy who became

sheriff of Las Vegas So it's all based on you

know actual events even though I'm you know,

it's gonna be how Hollywood eyes Etc, but I love

the concept. I love quaid. I love the cast. This

is For sure. I'm definitely behind this. I'll

I'll be checking this It's really the only new

one that I'm even excited for out of the whole

channel. I have to agree. Yeah, same here. I

mean it's the only one that I really care about.

There's no new show going for them except for

that one. That's the only one I can see getting

picked up. Depending on how well the comedy is

done in Partners or depending on how well it's

received. I can see that one possibly because

of the cast. Right For me right now for as far

as new shows included with everything else that's

returning for CBS It's Vegas and partners. Those

are the only two new ones. I'll really be paying

attention to CBS is really building itself up

though. If you look at their entire, you know,

like you look at the schedule here and I'll obviously

post all this Yeah, you know a lot of new stuff.

They just need one or two things to fill the

ground up and even if they don't that's a big

deal because they still have some major success

had to try to reinvent themselves because a lot

So they have a lot of new shows coming either

beginning or possible midseason replacements

or a second half of the year So there's a lot

of new ones and there was a lot there canceled

last year Yes, there was What were some of the

cancellations last year? Let's see down the list

Prime suspect didn't last bent best friends forever.

Well, no shit that didn't last the firm they

should have never even done that I'm sorry they

just leave John Grisham stuff alone damn it or

or if you if if you're gonna try to do a John

Grisham television show do one of his books that

has not been made into a damn movie already Harry's

Law, that didn't last. Free Agents, that didn't

last. Sadly, Playboy Club and Awake did not last.

Those are the only two new ones really from NBC

last year that I really cared about. But I will

say Awake's ending was pretty damn cool. And

of course, Are You There, Chelsea. Thank God

that left. I still think you should give away

a chance. It's only 13 episodes. I mean even

though it's not coming back It was a pretty damn

cool show. Yeah He says that like fuck you I

ain't checking that shit. If I get time I will

do that and you know that's not gonna happen.

Yeah, right. As far as the return show. I'm gonna

have to get you the damn DVD for Christmas or

something. As far as return shows you have The

Voice coming back obviously that takes a big

chunk of the time. Thank God I cannot wait for

season 3 of The Voice. You have The Voice on

Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday, you have Parenthood.

On Wednesday, at an earlier time, you have Lawn

Order SVU. The only Lawn Order that's still playing,

obviously. Thursday is all the returning shows,

the sitcom block. Basically, you have 30 Rock

Up All Night, The Office, Parks and Recreation,

and Rock Center with Brian Williams. That's the

Thursday schedule. So that's all. Nothing new

on Thursday. Nothing new on Friday. You have

Whitney Community Grimm. So the end of the week

is basically staying the same forum. It's a beginning

that we see a few new guys coming into the play

I will say really quickly about SVU's return

They are At least for one episode I hope this

happens because there are certain things that

were supposed to happen in season 13 that did

not happen like the team up of Alex Cabot and

and Casey Novak that never happened but in season

14 Catherine Irby is going to return as Alexandra

Eames from Criminal Intent. She's going to reprise

her role in an episode of SVU, so I'm really

looking forward to seeing Eames again. Sorry.

No, I would be looking forward to seeing that

as well. I'm currently in the middle of watching

Criminal Intent's entire series on Netflix. Anyway.

the returning stuff, I'm only interested in the

voice and SVU. As am I. And the after Christmas

debut of another series as well. I will watch

Dateline just because it's Dateline, but as far

as any of the other ones, I don't really care

or 13 different shows that are supposed to be

new obviously they can't play all of those so

some of them are probably waiting to see if other

ones survive or not so there might be like an

a group and a b group or something like that

so we'll kind of mention that as we go through

oh wow really quickly i i can see one of the

upcoming ones that says coming soon on their

schedule steve's gonna love that Hannibal i don't

know is going to be the... That's supposed to

be like the firm. Well, it's supposed to be in

the series with, you know, Silence of the Lambs,

with Red Dragon, etc. I can't remember at what

part of the story is taking place. It's not trying

to... It's supposed to be between Hannibal Rising

and the Red Dragon. Okay, so I think it's worth

a shot if they do it right. Um, but we'll have

to see if they actually do it or not. I don't

have much hope for that show I'm I mean I will

check it just because I like the Hannibal series,

but the Hannibal rising was terrible Yeah, just

because I don't think that that was a series

that needed to go back and tell the origins to

or just because nobody can capture the Anthony

Hopkins portrayal right, so I just I would prefer

that they left it alone much like the firm did

not need a TV show as well. Yeah. The other dramas

since we started off with Hannibal. Sorry. You

have the Chicago Fire. I swear we've seen this

before, but it is from Dick Wolf who created

Law and Order. And it's following the Chicago

Fire. I just feel like that's been done before.

Yeah. Think of, I don't know if this is what

it's going to be, but just from that little description,

think of like Rescue Me from FX. essentially

I don't see how this is gonna be anything new

or spectacular you have do no harm which is about

a top neurosurgeon who has a dangerous alter

ego which threatens both his personal and professional

life it looks kind of strange it reminds me of

Dexter actually yeah I can see that it canceled

it does have a shot in it from the Cosby show

oh yay I don't know what part she plays in it.

You know, it's gonna be one of those that are,

to me it reminds me of a lot of the shows that

they tried last year. Not just this channel,

but like all the different, Awake and Touch,

and you know, Just these, A Gifted Man, not that

those are bad, but it just seems like those shows

don't seem to catch on fast enough. Infamous,

there's another one. Has to deal with Undercover,

it's another top one. I don't see it lasting

unless it's cancelled. It was called Notorious.

They got a lot of guys from Breakout Kings after

he was killed off in that show. I saw the preview

for it and it just doesn't appeal to me. The

one that I'm looking forward to is Revolution.

JJ Abrams. Shoot now. I'm forgetting the other

guy the other guy that's involved with the Well,

it was the pilot was written by suit suit one

of the guys from Supernatural, right? Jj Kripke

of Supernatural. So yeah It's and then you've

got director John Favreau. Yeah, that's the other

guy I was thinking of So it's a post -apocalyptic

world. Basically what happens is all of the energy,

basically electricity, all technology is wiped

away. It's basically like a blackout, like all

of your technology is gone. And so it's all these

different groups of people, cities. Forms of

civilization trying to survive in this world

with no technology It's basically how would the

human race survive without technology and then

there's like these marshals that are trying to

like control everything and then there's a guy

that's suspected of Knowing how to turn it back

on possibly or knowing why it went off So it's

got a lot of cool aspects to it. I'm really hoping

it can not be this year's Terra Nova Yeah I'm

hoping it can survive. I think I'm more hopeful

for this than I am how turnover turned out. Yeah.

Just for the fact that I think this is a much

better concept. I agree. It's like kind of like

a post -apocalyptic world but a little different

and it just seems like there's a lot of cool

like the one of the trailers I saw like it showed

basically they're on this journey. They compared

it to like a Lord of the Rings but in society

where you're just on this journey trying to find

you know certain things and they show them going

through like Chicago and you see like Wrigley

Field but it's all like overtaken with like you

know moths or vines or plant life of some sort

and it's just kind of I think there's going to

be some cool scenery and stuff because it's going

to be showing the U .S. without you know Technology

electricity and stuff like that so that visually

it should have some cool aspects to it So that's

the biggest drama I'm looking forward to There

is some sitcoms though to that some look interesting

and some look retarded Well, what do you want

to talk about first well this one I thought looked

retarded until I saw the preview for it and that's

go on with Matthew Perry from friends and other

obviously I didn't think this was gonna be Something

that I was interested in but the trailer almost

got me in there. He is a sportscaster who Experiences

a devastating loss and it's kind of forced to

go into this counseling group and and you know

hilarity ensues I guess But it's Matthew Perry's

return to NBC Never really been a fan of his

right there, but he looks like he's made for

this role So i guess yeah he's i i'm more of

a fan of him than any like any of the other guys

from friends but that's because i didn't really

care for the show but i mean i i can kind of

see that better than his previous show that got

canned last year yeah i don't know i think it

has a chance more of a chance than some of the

sitcoms i've seen um but you know we'll see this

next one does not show up on the schedule so

i'm not sure what this is Status of this one

is it's called save me and Hey is the main star

and Here was a great idea. Let's put an hash

into a TV show and let her play a crazy person

That'll be hard for her. She's already crazy

Yes, that is so true she's a housewife in a broken

marriage who believes she can channel God Yeah,

no, let's skip it The new normal It's got some

big names in it. Yeah, it does But it's a television

series from Ryan Murphy. It's a comedy about

a blended family including a gay couple who This

chick who becomes a mother to assist them in

starting a family So it's basically this girl

who? Decides to be the second mom for them because

she wants to go to law school and prove something

to her daughter about you know What you can do

and achieve in life, so I don't know 1600 pen

Bill Pullman Any place of president again for

the first time since Independence Day And that's

about the only good reason to watch the show.

Why does it not surprise me? It's like any comedy

that ever has involved a like governor or president

That has a black sheep of the family You know,

it's basically this kid that's in college who

is gonna be a jackass and His family's gonna

have to try to like save him or keep him out

of the public eye I don't know. It's that type

of show and I feel like again We've seen that

before and I don't think the guy playing the

black sheep is gonna be funny enough to pull

it off Oh, so it's not David Spade. No Christopher

it's not well because David Spade was black He

was the black sheep in that movie Black Sheep.

I have hope for. Animal practice? I think this

actually looks funny. Mainly because of the monkey.

But it stars Justin Kirk and Tyler the Bean,

Matt Walsh. It's a veterinary practice and it's

just like scrubs with animals and I hate scrubs

but this one actually looks like it's funny.

Yeah, I could see this one being funny but at

least it's something new I mean, we've seen a

lot of doctors and doctor comedies and stuff

like that But how often I've seen something like

an animal practice So that's true Guys with kids

that's a knockoff of the ABC family show Yeah,

baby daddy. Yeah, yeah tempest blood. So another

Cosby trying to start trying to make her Name

again Anthony Anderson Jamie Lynn's it's a regular

tempus blood. So I mean, it's got like a name

recognition there But yeah, we've seen this before

Three guys that have babies that are trying to

live in normal lives single dads Next caller

that again is not on the schedule anywhere Just

because if it does show up Jeffrey Taylor and

Dane cook It's on there on their upcoming, but

it doesn't say yeah Defer Tambor plays the boss

of Dane Cook who is a radiation personality who

is forced to take on a female co -host. I could

see that being funny only for the fact that it's

Dane Cook and then you know how his comedy is,

it would actually fit perfectly. It reminds me

of too much of Frazier Crane. I liked Frazier

more than I liked Seinfeld well, I'm not saying

this a bad thing but like when when Kevin said

that it was it was a radio host that's forced

to work with a female co -host that's the first

thing I thought of was was Frazier when he went

from from Boston to Seattle and I I don't know

Well, I don't know I think NBC for me has the

most promising sitcoms though if you take the

Matthew Perry one you take the animal one you

take this one would click possibly. I mean, there's

at least some shots at some good sitcoms. I haven't

really seen any of the sitcoms for any of the

other channels so far that grabbed me. So I'm

not usually a sitcom person, but at least you

might have one or two that hit. Yeah. Are we

done looking at them? Yeah, kind of. I mean,

you can give your final thoughts on NBC if you

want to, Steve. There are new shows? Might actually

give me something a reason to watch their station.

Mm -hmm First of all being revolution for the

reasons stated previously Animal practice looks

like it could be funny Hannibal I'll give it

a shot. I'm not optimistic because like I said,

I don't like prequels to Stuff because they ruin

it but it could be alright and the next caller

it looks like it'll be so those are my four picks

out of those I don't know which ones will actually

survived only for the fact that people nowadays

are stupid in the sense that they like reality

and surprise surprise surprise that these are

well one of them is but it's that won't last

well for me the one i'm most hopeful for most

anticipating would be revolution and then the

sixth kind of i'm just going to check out with

the hopes that maybe one of them will grab me

um but yeah i don't know i think mvc is trying

some new stuff and maybe it'll pay off. Yeah,

for me, it's pretty much the old stuff, the voice,

SVU. So far, nothing is really, you know, great.

I mean, I don't know. Did you, Kevin, have you

had a chance since the season ended? Have you

had a chance to watch that last episode of SVU?

No, but it's online so I can watch it. Man, you've

got to watch that. It's online, so I'm going

like that, that, the way season 13 ended, it

just, it ramped it up so much. It wasn't just

a regular run of the mill case. It started out

that way, but it had so many ramifications that

are going to come once season 14 starts. I just,

just can't wait. And the voice, I'm, you know,

I liked season two. I didn't really... I didn't

watch season one, but when the season one cast

members came on to season two, I'm like, ugh,

get rid of these people. But season three, I'm

looking forward to as well, so. Up next, we're

Fox the only one I really wish they didn't cancel

was Alcatraz because they ended it on a cliffhanger

on a cliffhanger to see if Fox would pick it

back up again. And of course, no, they didn't.

And I know Kevin is disappointed that Terranova

didn't get picked up again. Yeah, I like Terranova.

I like Terranova and I like Alcatraz, but I like

Terranova more. Yeah. A lot of people watch The

Finder. I tried like four or five episodes and

I just I couldn't get into it. There's absolutely

no surprise that Alan Gregory and pulling dynamite

didn't make it. Yeah, no, sadly. Yeah. Yeah.

As far as the returning shows, Monday, you have

Bones still. Mm hmm. Tuesday, you have Raising

Hope and New Girl from last year was pretty successful.

Wednesday, of course, you have either the X Factor

or American Idol, depending on what time of the

year it is. Yeah. Same for Thursday. Thursday,

you also have Glee. Friday you have Touch and

Fringe and Hell's Kitchen. And then Sunday you

have the animation block of Simpsons, Bob's Burgers,

Family Guy, and American Dad. And the Cleveland

show, excuse me. So that's all the returning

stuff. Obviously, Fox is big time chunk of reality

TV in the middle of their week. But there are

some new shows coming, I guess. Yeah, as far

as the returning ones, Fox Friday is gonna kick

ass Because of touch and fringe. I don't like

the I don't like French I'm not I'm not that

into it But I know there's a lot of it does the

show does have a huge velvet The show's fandom

saved the damn show for positions and everything

else this past year Touch and did amazingly touches

a really really cool interesting series It's

something totally different than Keith Kiefer

Sutherland has ever been in on television So

I'm really looking forward to that as far as

the rest of it. I I don't really care It's not

stuff I want to pay attention to No, it just

isn't like for me the last no, I would say over

the last 12 years since 2000 Fox has had maybe

one or two what whether they are returning series

or new shows that Will like and get attached

to but I've learned my lesson like what stuff

like Boston Public They just cancel it out of

the blue didn't give it like a series finale

anything fast lane same thing Well that ended

on a cliffhanger again Fox low, you know The

students shows are on Fox love doing cliffhangers

to get Fox to pick the shit up again. They never

do Noah sure never got picked up. So for me and

Fox I usually Get myself interested in one show

and that's it That's really it. New shows on

Fox. We have the Mindy Project. It actually looks

like it could be somewhat funny. It's got Bill

Hader and Ed Helms. It's not something that I

would typically think I would watch, but the

preview looked like it was decently funny. Ben

and Kate plus eight. Oh, wait. Wrong network.

No, Ben and Kate. And if that one makes it to

the third episode, I will be shocked. Who's that

one starring? Dakota Johnson and Nat Faxon. I've

never heard of them. The premise is that there's

these two siblings, and one of them grows up

and the other doesn't. Oh, boy. And it looks

stupid. Then you've got the Goodwin games. Which

is about a dad that, in his will, leaves all

of his inheritance to his three siblings, but

they have to win it. And it's a series of games,

like the first game they play is Trivia Pursuit,

which is going to lead them to another puzzle

or another game, etc. And these three estranged

siblings are going to probably be forced to come

together to try to get the inheritance or something

stupid. Replacing house this year. We have the

mob doctor Actually looks decent I'm worried

that there's too many other things like it out

there, but she looked cool and basically she

is a doctor Who gets roped into being a doctor

for the mob on the side? To save her brother

and it looks like it could have a slim chance

I just have to say this here between Zombie shows

Between vampire shows between mob shows. I'm

so sick of those three genres. I Honestly, I

don't have any mob shows. I Think why well, okay.

Well, it it's more so a reality but like mob

wives and all that other crap Well, I think a

lot of the cop shows are people that would be

doing cop shows are trying to find a way to you

know branch off a little bit and so they're trying

the mob route. It's been successful on HBO and

on Showtime and stuff like that. And then we

have the following. This is interesting. Talks

about a retired FBI agent who must return to

duty because basically what's happened is a serial

killer who has escaped or somehow gotten out

of prison and what he's done is he's basically

created a cult. Following of other serial killers

to the point where he has a network of serial

killers across the country That basically can

help him So I've never seen a situation where

you basically have serial killers uniting together

to form me almost a network or a cult of or like

the title says the following and It's got Kevin

Bacon He's the cop that's coming out of retirement.

I believe to try to hunt the the other guy down

James pure foy who was in another Another show

that I should be able to think of right now,

but I can't It looks like it could be interesting.

It's kind of got a little bit of a criminal minds

vibe to it But again, can it survive? With all

the other cop and mob stuff out there Any interest

in any of the new show Steve? Apparently not.

Do what? No, there's nothing at Fox except bones

and that's it. I do have to talk about one other

thing. Go ahead. That I found in researching

for the show. Now obviously Fox is known for

their animation domination night with Simpsons,

Family Guy, etc. Now get this, there's actually

a series coming this year that's going to be

called Animation Domination Hi -Dev, or HD. HD,

yeah. Now, what this is, they're expanding. The

new unit will develop and produce an ambitious,

I'm reading this, ambitious slate of original

animated shorts and series to run on air in its

brand new late prime animated programming block.

that will air Saturdays and will feature four

new animated series starting in 2013. The first

series is going to be one called Ax Cop based

on a hit comic phenomenon created by a five -year

-old at the time and his 29 -year -old brother.

Fox has already six quarter -hour episodes of

that series. Additionally, the new channel will

feature 50 original short form pieces per year.

Online windows of Fox animated shows and user

-adapted content So they're really trying to

expand on this whole animation thing and it looks

like we could be a new series new shorts Some

online content so animation fans should be happy

to or at least interested to see what they're

gonna do with this I think with ADHD what they're

doing is that? Yeah, I forgot to mention that

it spells ADHD. ADHD. I think with ADHD, what

they're doing is they're preparing for when Simpsons

eventually does end. I'm thrilled that Ax Cop

is going to be made into an animated short or

an animated series or whatever. I think that's

going to be really, really cool because that

thing has a huge online fandom. Well, and it

looks like a type of thing that it's like the

type of platform that we could see You know at

least one if not multiple, you know future shows

come out of it. Mm -hmm You know if it's you

know Like some of the things that we've seen

in the past like more with the kids shows where

they had like a bunch of shorts And then all

sudden you have series that spin off from them

or this or that So I like the idea of it and

the potential we'll see I have to see how they

do it though Yeah For me really quickly one thing

that I just noticed on the Fox schedule is they're

bringing back in living color. I'm sorry, I'm

not a fan of this. I'm actually going to read

this from the Fox website so I don't get anything

wrong. In Living Color is a modern day take on

the hit sketch comedy series that features a

new cast of contemporary young talent and all

new characters and sketches. A one hour special

will be hosted and executive produced by original

series creator executive producer Keenan Ivory

Wayans. The new cast includes comedians Jennifer

Bartles from Laid Off, Josh Duvendek from Parks

and Rec, Jermaine Fowler from College Humor Originals,

Callie Hawk from New Girl, L 'Real Howrie from

Last Comic Standing, and new flock of fly girls

including Christina Chandler, Tara Perez, Lisa

Rosenthal, Kaylee Sheen from So You Think You

Can Dance, and Whitney Wiley. Like the now classic

series which debuted in Fox in 1990 immediately

struck a chord with viewers, the new special

will again put a hip, edgy spin on popular culture.

said this before in many of our podcasts. There

are certain things that should be remade and

there are certain things that just need to have

their legacy. And I'm sorry, unless you're going

to have, for me personally, unless you're going

to bring back the original cast, especially Jim

Carrey as Fire Marshal Bill, I will probably

not be tuning into this. Well, hell, he's not

doing anything else. I know that, but I'm saying,

like, you know, that's their deal, is they're

gonna, you know, try to get into the new and

upcoming, the unknowns. I don't see anything

wrong with it. I just... Like, they're trying

to do, like, an SNL -type thing, which, whatever,

you know, but... It'll either be funny or it'll

get cancelled, so there's nothing to lose. That's

true. That's true. Exactly. It'll get cancelled.

Fox, for me, like I said before, as far as the

schedule discussion, pretty much I'm all about

touch this year. I love the first season. I can't

wait to see what else they do with that show.

Key for Sutherland, but it also has another Shield

alum, Catherine Dent. Very, very awesome to see

her back on actual network TV. Very, very cool.

ADHD programming just to see what it has to offer.

from Beauty and the Beast, The Carrie Diaries,

and Arrow. Let's talk about the cancellations,

the secret circle I did not care for. Kevin loved

Hater though. No, I didn't. Yes, Hater also did

get cancelled. I think CW did. I know it was

a ratings thing, but I think they did a huge

disservice in cancelling Ringer. That show got

really good. Me personally, I thought it was

really good throughout. There are a couple episodes

in the middle that just kind of meh, but the

ending was so great. I wish that they would have...

Again, Ringer and Awake, they didn't... It's

kind of like two sides of the same coin with

a wake They really tied it up in a nice bow and

gave a wake and ending wringer They left it open

-ended and on just on the edge of the cliff and

I wish it would have gotten a season two Let's

talk about the returning shows for the CW Kev

Well, I mean, I'm not a CW fan. So definitely

not one tunes into this channel, but I can sum

up Cw very there. They have a very simple strategy

that they're going into here. Obviously they're

going for the younger crowd And what they've

done is they've they've paired everything up.

So Monday you're going for the The girl shows

like 902 and own gossip girl. Yeah, and then

they carry diary and the carry diaries Those

will all be the same similar type of show Tuesday.

They've backed to Like a little bit more mature

but the both the doctor shows with heart of Dixie

and Emily Owens MD So they're backing those up

against the other Tuesday and then Wednesday

and Thursday are more for the you know Like the

supernatural the fantasy world the Twilight's

Fan type group they're trying to you know hone

in on the that demographic. I'm not saying that

you have to be one of those fans to watch these

shows, but they're trying to capitalize on that

group of fandom that's out there with Arrow,

Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, and Beauty and

the Beast. And if I said Supernatural at any

time beforehand, I meant more of a supernatural

feel. I didn't mean that this show airs on anywhere

but CW, just to clear that up. Yes. But I don't

have any opinions on if Arrow, Beauty and the

Beast... If any of these new ones will be good

or not, I don't know. The only one I'm interested

in to see is Arrow. I've been so like, I think

back when it was in season two was the last time

I saw Gossip Girl. I hate 90210. I think it's

a pale. Well, and it's the last season for Gossip

Girl. Right, right. I'm interested I may get

back into Gossip Girl just to see how it ends

Because I did watch it from its inception, but

like I said, I only watched the first two seasons

So I guess I have some catching up to do but

they did they did shake things up because not

a single show Has not moved a time or a night

Yeah, so they're really trying to find a formula

works. Yeah Arrow I'm interested in because I

like green arrow. I'm not sure if I like the

guy playing Him in this series, but but I I'm

optimistic about that show because let's face

it unless you're smallville supernatural Gossip

girl, it's not a good slot to be going right

before Supernatural Eros no it is in the sense

that they always had small bill before supernatural

I'm saying, having Arrow before Supernatural

now, you might get some of those fans tuning

in beforehand and you might draw some of those

in there. So having those two back -to -back

is smart. I question Beauty and the Beast. Like,

this has been done before. In the 80s. It has

been so done before. That's a real stretch to

try to capitalize on this this newfound fairy

tale slash grim slash once upon a time Supernatural,

you know, I mean, I'm gonna know they're all

different shows Yeah, some of them are good and

some of them are not But everybody is desperately

trying to get into that fandom. Yeah I honestly

think and I I think that outside of Arrow and

Supernatural and the end of Gossip Girl that's

for me personally that's all cw has going for

it do you know what it reminds me of it reminds

me of i think it was usa back in the day when

they went to their schedule that had um silk

stockings no it had hercules and zina oh yeah

and like lefemme nakita and silk stockings was

probably in there too but you know when they

went more towards the the fantasy world yeah

it seems like cw is going away from Having all

teenage girl shows. Yeah with the success of

supernatural They've they're really trying to

expand on that and speaking of expanding supernatural

is slated for ten seasons thoughts Steve boo

I I love the show but honestly, they're losing

momentum year by year Yeah, just in the same

vein that smallville did I think that they need

to just tie it up and let it go rather than strangle

it to death. But the CW is famous for doing that.

Yes, they are. In that sense, I can kind of see

why they're doing it. On the other hand, I am

excited to see what they do with it. But it's

still, I don't know, it's kind of a double -edged

sword for me there because I just, I can't. say

either way, whether I'm excited or disappointed

with it. On the other hand, I am looking forward

to Arrow because unlike Superman, I like Green

Arrow more because he's basically Batman with

a bow and arrow. He's basically a combination

of Robin Hood and Batman, yeah. You don't watch

this network at all, do you Kev? No, I haven't

for a long time. For me, Along with Steve for

me. It's arrowing and just because this is gossip

girls last season. I will check that out as well

so we we're gonna head to some commercials and

other other interesting stuff, and then we will

Alright Steve, final thoughts on the upcoming

2012 -2013 fall TV season? Umm... Not many shows

I'm really looking forward to that are new. I

would say that there's a few per station. Overall,

to just kind of sum them all up. From ABC, I

have one that is really the only one I cared

about, and that's probably Last Resort. CBS,

I have Vegas. NBC it's I'm kind of skeptical

on it but yeah I'm not even jumping into that

Fox Nelson and CW is arrow so other than that

I'm I'm pretty much set for the renewal and supernatural

Big Bang Theory and Two man one show. Yeah last

man standing. Kev, what about you? For me as

far as returning shows I'm obviously most looking

forward to revenge and then of course I always

enjoy stuff like Criminal Minds and Hawaii 5

-0 as far as the new stuff goes I will give Mob

Doctor and the following a chance from Fox but

the main ones I'm looking for this year the main

ones that I'm going to make sure I seek out and

see if they're any good would be Vegas from CBS

Last Resort From ABC and revolution from NBC

for me You know the voice and and an SVU from

NBC I will also I'll give Chicago fire a try

and just see but really there's nothing that's

really grabbing Maybe the new normal as well,

but there's nothing like I have to watch this

from NBC outside of SVU and the voice From CBS,

definitely watching Vegas. I'm actually, after

we finish these episode recordings, I'm actually

going to send Mr. Chickless' people an email.

I will give 666 Park Avenue a shot from ABC.

That's probably gonna be the only one. I will

give, and when I say give a shot, I will at least

watch the pilot of each new one that I would

like to try to get into, but if the pilot doesn't

grab me, it's something, it's not that I would

hate it. is something where I would okay that's

the pilot I'll just wait till it hits Netflix

DVD whatever because I have so much other stuff

that I watch so yeah that's pretty much it for

me all in all I think it's gonna be again just

like last year I think this year is gonna be

an interesting hedge your bets on what gets cancelled

first It's also interesting to see you channel

wise because a lot of them are shifting their

strategies and trying different going different

directions So we'll see who's successful and

who's not yeah I'm I I would be remiss to bring

this up if I didn't I have I have to bring up

the cable networks USA right now the two main

shows I love on there are Common law and white

-collar absolutely love those TNT Really brought

me in this year when they when they brought Dallas

back It was just if you were a fan of that like

if your parents allowed you to watch the original

Dallas in the late 80s early 90s I just absolutely

loved the new show. It's such a blessing to have

a continuation not a reboot of a of a famous

franchise You know and whatever else that I watch

on the other networks obviously Convict Men on

AMC. I've tried to get into Breaking Bad, I don't

know, I gotta give that one another shot, but

I will say that there's a lot of the cable networks

that are really coming up with really great,
