About this Episode

Mike and Steve compare the 1990s to today, exploring how media, censorship standards, and cultural attitudes have shifted. They discuss the prevalence of R-rated films then versus now, changes in animation quality and storytelling, how the internet and technology transformed daily life, and which 90s trends should or shouldn't make a comeback. The hosts also touch on true crime media, the Noid, GeoCities nostalgia, and how social media has changed everything.

Hey, this is Steve blue and you are listening

to the geek cast radio network You're listening

to the geek cast radio network unleash the geek

in you. Hello and welcome to GeekCast Radio episode

93. I am one of your hosts, TF2 and Mike, and

joining me is Steve Megatron. Hello, sir. Hello.

Continuing on with the 90s stuff here on GeekCast

Radio, we're going to be talking about the 90s

and now. We'll give it to you in 30 minutes or

less. That's what she said. Well, you know, it's

a pizza thing. Come on. We've been over this.

How do you not know the Noid? Anyway, it is so

funny. I made that joke in Mayhem Mike's a couple

weeks ago and Ryan was like, of course the Noid

I'm like, yeah Steve didn't even know that Well,

I it's not that I didn't know it. I just didn't

remember it If if you would have shown me a picture

I would have been like, oh, I remember that creepy

looking thing Yeah, I'm like, how do you not

remember the Noid? He was so creepy looking I

mean, it's like, half man, half... I don't even

know what. Half gecko. Not even, like... I know,

I'm joking. Like, yeah, no, like, wow. Not good.

Who know? Not good at all. Uh, we are here to...

Sorry folks, I'm a little distracted. The, um...

New England Patriots lost Super Bowl 52. Fucking

hell. And in other news, nobody cares. Just because

you don't care doesn't mean I don't care, damn

it. Growing up in New England, it's a thing.

Sports is a thing, even if it's not in Michigan.

Oh, you're saying sports are a thing? No, if

it were hockey or something else that actually

mattered, then, you know, it'd be a thing, but,

you know. Just saying, man. Just saying. But

anyway 90s to now what we're gonna do in this

episode is we're talking about stuff from the

90s To now and some things happen some things

didn't some things should come back some things

shouldn't kind of a thing How about things that

happen in 90s media that just seem too risque

these days? And I know there's a lot of risque

things that happen these days in news and things

like that like there's all kinds of crazy stuff,

but like I know Inside Edition and Extra and

those kind of things are still around but like

I Haven't seen hard copy since the 90s a current

affair went away almost as soon as the 90s began

Some of the movies in the 90s were just Well,

forget the movies the animation. Well, yeah fingerprints

Yeah fingerprints. Exactly. I think Justin I

think Justin Timberlake fingered prints at the

at the Super Bowl halftime show this year Because

there was supposed to be a Prince hologram tribute

with Justin Timberlake. So Yeah Yeah, there's

so many things that happened in the 90s that

I just don't they're like the biggest thing for

tiny tin adventures is Oh, you know, we're cracking

up the sensors, you know and the whole thing

with animaniacs and you know, Yeah, you know

when something really really blue and risque

happen. Okay. Good night everybody, you know,

I mean Nowadays everybody's just too Sensitive

Mmm, I have other words for that, but I'm gonna

leave it alone But yeah, I mean like We didn't

have to pull punches back then but now it's like

you think of the funny joke or whatever and I

know you and I would probably say it no matter

what but it's like Should I really be saying

this or should I not really be saying this? How

many people am I gonna offend today with just

looking at something or just saying something?

Giving a wrong quote -unquote wrong opinion because

you know opinions can't be right or wrong according

to most people and even though I've said that

they can and cannot be at the same time you know

I'm a hypocrite so I fully admit that. Well one

of the funny things about the difference in media

between then and now is back then You know there

were Two genders this even even concluded by

Bill Nye the science guy show and then all of

a sudden that doesn't exist now There's nine

90 some or whatever, I don't know I can't keep

track anymore. I'm There's it's still a binary

number to me, but I'm gonna leave that there.

Anyways, it was in a Bill Nye episode that episode

was scratched from history unless you check YouTube

so if you're curious about that yeah anyways

and then you know we had things that had to kind

of fly under the radar oh yeah back then and

nowadays it's you you have Like, for instance,

you have more upfront nudity and swearing and

pushing the envelope in that regard. But then

when it comes to other things, they're not willing

to push the envelope. They're like, oh, no, this

is too risque. See, I don't see that. I do, because

they're playing. You're saying compared to then,

they do it more now or vice versa? Well, I think

that things are just less censored now by comparison

to back then. Okay, but the difference is all

of us now are adults, and we can all choose or

not to choose to pay for Skidamax or HBO or Showtime

or whatever. I'm not even talking about that.

I'm talking about regular cable. Well, yeah,

that's true. And things that are streaming, which

is why I got rid of... Yeah, streaming did kind

of... Well, that's why I got rid of Netflix,

and that's why I won't... There's a lot that's

changed in... How much they're they're looking

to push the envelope nowadays and I just I want

nothing to do with it Like I'll just not watch

it and sit on my mist my nostalgia train. Yeah

See the crazy thing to me is there's more rated

R movies in the 80s and 70s 80s and 90s than

there are now I Every movie I have ever seen

in the last 18 years since the year two thousand

every almost every movie i see if the uh... trailer

for that is not a horror movie that may be like

uh... let's say a will ferrell comedy or something

like that not necessarily picking on him or singling

him out but he's the only example i can think

of i'm like oh the like hot tub time machine

i thought was going to be rated r because of

all the shit that they do in that movie you know

and It's not, I don't think. I think it is PG

-13. I don't know, I forget. I'd have to look

it up. But it's one of those things where movies

now, like there are maybe 10 rated R movies in

a year versus, you know, like 50 back then in

the 90s. Well, the thing is too, is when things

hit cable, you had the edited version. So even

if you didn't want to watch the... The rated

-r version you got still a pretty good cut for

the film whereas now It's pretty much. I mean

you get the same cut no matter what unless there's

like some kind of a thing that they just won't

show and Yeah, it's I I don't know I mean Yeah,

a lot of the 80s and 90s stuff had a lot of nudity,

a lot of swearing, a lot of action, a lot of

gore and stuff like that. And it does now, too.

I mean, that's kind of relative. The only difference

is that they're trying desperately not to hit

that rated R. So they'll hit a hard PG -13, which

to me is still rated R. Yeah, I mean, the whole

rating scale. I think Dan and I talked about

this on Movie Week in Review and stuff like that.

You know, it just doesn't It's changed so much

over the years to include other things and exclude

other things Yeah, and I get it I get it but

it's at the same time I just It makes it more

difficult. I guess to watch some of the stuff

and I guess that's just me hitting my You know

old age thing that I just you know, I can't sit

through a lot of that crap anymore And even now

like I've gone back and I've tried to watch old

stuff from the 80s and in 90s and Comparing it

with today. I find a lot of it unless it's the

censored version yeah, I find it harder to watch

and I find although I do find that the comedies

back then were much easier to watch because not

only were they more intelligently written and

cleaner, but they weren't, I don't know, I just

feel like the ones now, they rely too much on

gimmick and like asinine jokes instead of intelligent

writing. Yeah, absolutely. Huntsman Time Machine,

though, is rated R, sadly. It was good, though.

Yeah, no, I know. But it was playing on the 80s.

Yeah, I understand that. But what my point is,

a lot of films that I saw as a kid, because when

I was a kid, we didn't have PG. PG -13 was just

starting when I was a kid. It was either G, PG,

or R, or X. There was no PG -13. There was no

NC -17 kind of a thing. And, you know, like,

I forgot how gory Robocop is. And that's a Rated

R movie. Yeah, that one was pretty, pretty hard.

Well, I mean, you know, the whole beginning of

it kind of a thing. Like, you know, that. Like,

I mean, I knew Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 were

Rated R because I've watched those movies ever

since I was 7. But, you know, but it's just one

of those things where it... like it's almost

flip -flopped and again like I said I know like

early mid 90s there wasn't really a lot of PG

-13 films and then they kind of started and started

and started after like 97 and our movies just

kind of really went away it seems like nowadays

an R rated film is like a rarity every I would

have to go back to like a list of films that

got released this year or last year I should

say or 2016 or 2015 just to count how many were

PG -13 versus how many were actually rated R

and I'm not counting like ooh the three hour

rated R special edition of the BS that is BBS

that's that's bullshit that's just bullshit The

thing with animation in the 90s, as you were

saying earlier, is the storytelling to me was

more in depth. There have been a few shows in

the last seven or eight years that have done

that, but most of the animation nowadays is just

there. I think a lot of it's terrible. Not only

in animation, but in writing. Yeah, I mean let

you know you take like a Star Wars Rebels or

a TMNT the one that just ended before whatever

this new one is gonna Be that we talked about

an altered geek rise of the TMNT You take that

you take any of the transformers like prime and

things like that. That was good that kind of

stuff but like You know, how long is spongebob

been on now and there really is no like story

a lot like that That's an episodic plot by plot

kind of thing. There is no ongoing story there

Thanks cat, you know And the thing of it is is

some of these animated shows don't even really

get like past one or two seasons and it's a shame

like Disney's the 7d that show was hilarious

I mean you put Billy West Maurice LaMarche and

Kevin Michael Richardson in a room as three of

the seven dwarfs, hilarity will ensue, and it

does. I mean, especially with Maurice LaMarche

playing grumpy. I mean, it's just frigging hilarious.

You know, we've had Phineas and Ferb over the

last 10 or 11 years, which was great, and that

has, I mean, a 10 -year run for an animated show

is very rare these days, and that show was so

great. And now those creators have gone on to

take on their new show, Milo Murphy's Law, which

is coming up on its second season, I believe.

I love that show. You would love that show. I've

said this to you before with Milo Murphy's Law.

The only reason why you'd love it once you watch

the plot of it, but the only main reason you

would be drawn to it is Weird Al voices the main

character, Milo Murphy, and he also sings the

theme song. How cheesy were the 90s? It depended

on the show yeah Because if you looked at You

know like power Rangers you had some some cheese

factor if you looked at beetle Borgs you had

some cheese factor if you looked at A lot of

that kind of stuff you had cheese factor or some

of the what a cartoon shows Yeah, like, you know

a little bit in Dexter's lab and you know, Major

Glory and all that kind of stuff. And then you

would have some in like Animaniacs or some of

those type programs. But then you had some serious

stuff that was like the Marvel and DC universe.

Oh, absolutely. Which was rock solid. Yeah, I

mean more so like how cheesy the 90s are. as

far as some of the movies and some of the TV

shows. Well, look at Nickelodeon. You had all

that. You had, what was it, Slut Your Shorts.

Larissa. Yeah, so there was a lot of Cheese Factor.

Alone in the Dark. Yeah. And just some of, I

think the 90s, film -wise, kind of took a shift.

Where 1990 to 1994 or five it was still kind

of that late 80s action type of stuff and the

comedy stuff was there still but it was more

so a leftover of 80s comedy stuff like as much

as Everybody probably dislikes the film even

though I enjoy it to some extent You know don't

tell mom the babysitter's dead drop dead Fred

was in 1991 um you know uh what other comedy

film you know walt disney's three musketeers

um you know sin bad and first kid which was 95

you know there was there was um there was a shift

from 95 to 99 where I don't know if the comedy

got more adult, because it was still teenage,

coming -of -age kind of comedies. I think we

hit that mark around the introduction of Pixar.

Oh, absolutely, yeah. I don't think we really

had a lot of it prior to that, but I think that

once Pixar came in and broke the mold, I think

that's the changing point. Yeah, and I also think

the changing point for the live -action stuff

is also Stuff like cruel intentions and wild

things and she's all that and As much as I love

this film, but to a lesser extent ten things

I hate about you It just kind of varied and it

just was a different kind of comedy and then

obviously we're not talking about the 2000s But

you know 99 the end of the Millennium kind of

thing Well, and then we started getting an influx

of new superhero movies yep i mean you had blade

you had x -men you had spider -man and then like

batman i don't really count because they kind

of it was kind of dying off at that point yeah

so but yeah i mean it still was it was still

a different time so it was a very different time

It was also a very different time because we

were going through transition of not having the

internet and having the internet. Like, ooh,

is this bright, shiny, new, strange thing. What

can we do with this? And yeah. It took me a few

years to stop looking at the newspaper to find

movie times. I remember when the internet came

out. Yeah. My dad had just gotten a computer

in a Pentium 133 at the time. Yeah, that's old

school. And we were sitting down and the first

thing we looked up was I, this is how hardcore

geek I was at that time. I looked up Star Trek.

The first thing I look up on the internet, Star

Trek. The original series print -off stuff looked

up and then back in those days you had like the

Encarta encyclopedia and you had the Microsoft's

basic, you know thing of that and then It was

it was crazy back then. I mean I had I remember

that I remember when It was entertaining to look

up Beavis and but had an MTV online You had very

generic looking websites. GeoCities? I was a

heavy user of GeoCities for my sites. I think

everybody was a heavy user of GeoCities because

GeoCities to the 90s is to what GoDaddy is today.

Well, I wouldn't even say that. GeoCities was

kind of that place where everybody went for free

websites, kind of like what WordPress is today.

Because if you go to wordpress .com, you can

get free WordPress websites and whatever .wordpress

.com. It was the same thing as GeoCities. I mean,

except GeoCities had this convoluted, they didn't

use your username or a specific title. They had

geocities .com slash timesquare slash corridor

slash 1815 slash main .html, which for those

that are actually listening, That was my actual

direct URL to my Transformers website, way back

when. Actually, it was that or Dragon Ball Z?

No, that was my Transformers site. But anyways,

I had to type that so many times, I remember

it. So you had to navigate through directories,

and then when Yahoo bought them, it became a

username thing. And then it was just a mess,

the page builder. And if you're on dial -up,

it was a royal pain because you'd have to wait

forever for this, like, what you see is what

you get, you know, visual Java setup of this

in -browser thing that you could build your layout.

And it wasn't fun because if you created a new

page, you had to literally rebuild the damn thing

every time. And I I've gotten pretty good at

it after a while and then if it was just a mess

But anyways, I did that for years Yeah until

that went away back, I don't know about ten years

ago I Can still get into all my sites, which

was great, but I haven't I went to WordPress

as soon as that was available The crazy thing

about the 90s folks is that the stuff that some

of the The internet things gave birth to just

don't seem like they should be around anymore.

I know you're not going to care about this, but

as I said earlier, you know, I just recorded

an episode of Mayhem Mikes with Ryan Inflal Merkley,

which should be out before this episode, obviously.

But, um, you know, I was doing some research

on what happened at Royal Rumble this year with

WWE and they, at the end of the Rumble announced

the arrival of Ronda Rousey in the WWE. She's

a UFC fighter kind of thing. And one of the headlines

on the pay -per -view that they showed was, Yahoo

Sports broke the news. And I'm like, Yahoo Sports?

Is that still a thing? Because Yahoo just doesn't

seem like it's around anymore. I know it is around,

but it just doesn't work. Well, they got bought

up by AT &T. That's why. Which is funny because

Yahoo bought up GeoCities back in the day. just

like Microsoft bought up Hotmail, which I had

one of the original Hotmail accounts before Microsoft

bought it a long time ago. And then, you know,

Microsoft's, of course, changed the platform,

I don't know, like half a dozen times. And so,

like, you could do, you know, dot error at Outlook,

at Live, at MSN, at, you know, they don't even

let you do Hotmail anymore. Yeah, I will never

not have my Hotmail email address, but I don't

use it for anything that much anymore. I use

Gmail at this point. I've been using Gmail since

2005 or 2006. I use my, I use my at live, which

is a Hotmail account for everything. It's still

my go -to. And then I use, I use Yahoo for things

I don't want to sign up for and have it go to

my main email. So basically junk mail. So like

for coupons and stuff, because they get hacked

a lot, it doesn't really matter to me. And I

use Gmail for my Android related stuff or purchases,

because it's more secure. And then I use, and

they're all different usernames, so it's fun

to remember them all. And then I use the various

platforms for the web hosting for my different

dot coms. Right. It's just insane. Yeah, you

have a lot there, buddy. Yeah, I'm a crazy person.

I have like, I don't know, like 10 emails. Jesus.

I can barely deal with one or two. I have one

for work, too. That's fun. I don't mind the fact

that... hotmail or microsoft or whatever i don't

mind the fact they change like they change it

to outlook or whatever to have the microsoft

branding there but what i mind is changing the

the layout and all of that's why i eventually

switched to gmail because gmail had a better

layout in my mind than hotmail did at the time

when it was changing and i'm like screw this

i like gmail much better it flows much easier

it's so much easier to use you know hit compose

hit send you know all that, it's just so much

faster and easier. And really, has anyone used

AOL in the last 15 years or more? No idea. Do

they even still send out those free disks of,

hey, install AOL. I don't think so. Hey, welcome

to AOL .com. I mean, hi. We really should make

a website out of that, AOHell. You want to know

what's funny? Back in the early 2000s, I did.

We had this giant joke, me and a couple of friends,

and we made this AOHell .com basically out of

video cities or top cities site. It basically

was like the AOL conspiracy theory. It was great

It seems like stuff that happened in the 90s

Would never happen today, I Mean never say never

but it just seems like a lot of the stuff that

happened a lot of the stuff that came out like

You know, Facebook, I know you know this, but

I know everyone else knows this, too. Facebook

has that memory thing, like, oh, on this day

in, you know, X number of years ago from your

Facebook stuff, like, I ran across the thing

of when the Broncos were in the Super Bowl or

playing for the Super Bowl like two years ago

or whatever it was, and they're like, oh, still

the only Bronco that matters, and it was a picture

of O .J.'s white Bronco from 9 -4, and I'm like,

oh, wow. Like, really? Come on. That's sad. Yeah,

that's really sad. But it's just, the 90s were

a great time for what they were, but I don't,

I have a topic choice here of what should and

should not come back, make a comeback from the

90s, not necessarily TV shows, but just stuff

that happened then, things that were like, whether

it's, you know, I don't know. Well, Skechers

is still around, obviously, but you know what

I mean? Skechers. Just stuff. Stuff. Like fads

and things like that. Kind of like we were talking

about in the first two episodes of this little

90s thing I've been doing here. Like Jolt Cola

or whatever. Jolt or nothing. Yeah. Do the do.

Dude, you're getting it down. Don't want her

take her back That was that was good I'm sorry

I do that every time anyone says that it's not

just you I think that's the second time I've

done it with you because you're always saying

it so Well, at least we didn't have crazy Charlie

Shin sheen saying duh I'm winning Adonis DNA

Tiger blood. Hey, but we did hit Casey Kasem

back then, so. Yeah. Oh, Casey Kasem. Did you

know Casey Kasem did something for Simplistic

Reviews podcast recently? Dude's been dead for

a year. No, I know, but he was on episode 100

of Simplistic Reviews. Oh, wow. Yeah, I think

it was me though Yeah, cuz I'm I'm a jerk like

that so I was doing the the narration as Yes

Yeah, so I mean we had a lot of nice stuff back

in those days, you know Yeah Don't really know

what else I mean we had I mean there was a lot

of cheese factor There was a lot of a lot of

different things going on in the various time

spans, but like we really didn't have We really

didn't have anything that was I don't know all

that different I mean we had stuff that was different,

but Yeah, I mean, it's not all that different,

but it just I don't know I think more of the

point here is that the point I kind of wanted

to make with 90s to now or 90s and now is that

things have changed so much that you know We

now have more than one crime, and I don't mean

like NYPD Blue crime show, but like, we have

more than just forensic files or - We have CSI

Atlantis. No, no, no. NCIS Atlantis. I'm not,

no, I'm not talking about the fictional shows,

I'm talking about the true crime shows. Like,

I've said this before, you know this, Karen knows

this, everybody knows this, I will sing it to

the day I die. There is a discovery network out

there called Investigation Discovery. They show

all these true crime shows, and it's my go -to

channel. It's the craziest thing. It is my go

-to channel when I eventually want to fall asleep

because it's just stuff that is just kind of

so soft in the background at times where it's

like, oh, I can fall asleep to the Lindbergh

baby kidnapping being profiled or something.

I don't know. but it's one of those things where

like back in the nineties we had a late eighties

early nineties we had unsolved mysteries with

robert stack and i think it's still around with

dennis farina these days but i don't know if

they eventually ever got rid of it i know that

you know it did come back with dennis farina

but like i mean you want to talk about some freaky

stuff as a kid try watching unsolved mysteries

in the dark with robert with ultra magnus as

your with robert stack Yeah, exactly. You can

listen to John Bailey do the same thing. He's

a pretty good impersonator of the guy that is

no longer among us. I'm sorry. There can only

be one Ultra Magnus and that is Robert Stack.

There can only be one Optimus Prime and that

is Peter Cullen. It's that old joke, you know,

Peter Cullen dies, we'll put his, you know, body

on ice to keep him alive or whatever. So you're

saying that's something from the 90s that shouldn't

come back? Not in my uncle's voice, no. I'm sorry.

I like his Honest Trailer Voice guy stuff, but

I try. So I now have a smartphone again. La -ti

-da. It's one of those things where I've seen

various apps and whatever else, and there's an

app called Go 90. It's a television program app.

And you had asked me before, oh, have you seen

Combiner Wars or Machine Wars or whatever the

hell it's called? It's Combiner Wars. Whatever.

And I'm like, no. Because you were like, oh,

it's a YouTube series. I'm like, I'll see it

when I see it. I don't really have any interest.

Well, I download this app for another series,

the original series that they had done to watch

that. Come to find out, looking through the Go90

.com catalog, Combiner Wars is on the app, and

I'm like, oh my god. So I could technically watch

it. I just choose not to, because I'm sorry.

I cannot watch anything Optimus Prime related

unless it's animated David Kay. Gary Chuck, Primal,

or Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, because there

ain't nobody gonna beat Peter Cullen, Optimus

Prime. There are no sound -alikes anymore. Maybe

Randall, or Dr. Smoove, but... Oh, he is, he

is like spot -on scary. Exactly, yeah. I've done

some voiceover with that guy before, and it is

insane. Just saying. I did David Kaye so that

was that was me I have I have to do David Kaye's

voice if I can do it I mean you know when we

interviewed and the man said oh hey that's a

really good spot -on impression so you know Anyways

Have we run this train into the wall? I think

so. And there's no money in this train either.

Oh, I love that movie. Money Train? Wesley and

Woody. Gotta love it. I should watch that again

soon. Maybe. I don't know. I've got so much going

on that it just like, it all kinds of runs into

each other. I'm surprised I even got this done.

yeah really I'm surprised I you know I'll get

this done get this edited get the three or four

other podcasts I have to edit edited like I just

like I said before I just edited mayhem Mike's

28 and now that the Patriots have lost I need

to fix my ending because I can't put in what

I wanted to put in Last year and again, I know

this is completely off -topic, but I don't care

at this point. I'm delusional. I'm tired as hell

See for me that the only thing that matters about

Super Bowl night is because it's Sunday It's

the commercials the trailers and Star Trek discovery

and now let's say Star Trek discovery because

I'm waiting to see how this season ends because

I have a theory and I Announced it in the last

episode of future imperfect and I'm really hoping

that it comes to play Cuz I'm pretty good with

my theory so far this season so have 90 % of

the fans so We'll have to do I don't know what

you have planned for and this is probably a conversation

for off -air but we'll have to do a Super Bowl

trailer dump for altered geek or something or

whatever. Oh, yeah, definitely Cuz yeah, I need

to watch that Avengers trailer again I watched

it but I didn't like soak it in and I I have

purposely not watched any trailers I kinda, well,

my wife always fast -forwards commercials, so

I very rarely see commercials anyway, but luckily

she wanted to see a lot of the Super Bowl commercials,

and she started fast -forwarding the Avengers

one when she first saw the Marvel logo and thought

it was the Black Panther ad again. I'm like,

no, no, no, wait, wait, wait. It's Deadpool.

No. I wish, but no. Infinity War trailer, it's

good. Like I said, I need to watch it again to

kind of soak it all in and immerse myself, but

you know, I saw some cool Iron Man moments in

it. So there's that. Didn't see any The Batman

or whatever the next Justice League thing is

gonna be, so I don't think DC had too much at

the Super Bowl this year. So, you know. I don't

know. But yeah, we'll have to do that. But the

90s to now, such a divisive time the 90s were.

Like, we were just coming out of Bush Senior,

and then we went into the Clintons and all that

scandal and everything else, and then we ended

up with another Bush later. And, you know, we

end up with an annoying Orange now. I don't know

what's worse, the Clinton era or the Trump era?

I don't even know. I think they're both equally

bad. I mean, yeah, one wanted his banana peeled

and the other one just, you know, I mean, they're

both a bunch of fruit. So. aren't you glad he

was a banana what i find interesting is the fact

that we okay so we've had a president that kinda

did the whole twitter facebook thing in barack

obama but he didn't really do it he didn't take

quote unquote advantage of it as the current

president does can you imagine What it would

have been like when the Lewinsky scandal happened

and President Bill Clinton had a Twitter account.

I did not have sex relations, believe me. And

then she'd be posting pictures of his dick, like...

You know that would have happened back in the

90s. You were told Lewinsky don't do it. I can't

help it. It's so funny stuff. I watch like I

said again need some of these crime shows that

I'll watch that you know Spotlight a certain

case or things like that and like it's from the

80s or the 90s specifically more so the 80s than

the 90s, but Like oh well she tried this video

cassette dating service, and I'm like really

Like online dating is bad enough now. I cannot

imagine what You know video dating was back.

Thank God. I was too young. Oh God Yeah, I'm

glad that I wasn't exposed to 90 % of that I

Tended as a kid I tend to just soak up everything

I could Obviously I stayed away from like the

horror movie genre kind of thing or too much

blood guts and gore But everything else I was

pretty much okay with Yeah, I'm not a big fan

of that genre granted I watched it with my wife,

but it still was not my favorite thing So, yeah,

I don't know but you know, it was the 90s that

was a decade Yeah, it was a decade for right

for real So folks we've given you two episodes

on trends we've given you an episode 90s to now
