About this Episode

The hosts discuss the potential for a third Ghostbusters film, including the likelihood of various cast members returning. The conversation then shifts to the current issues surrounding MattyCollector subscription plans, specifically criticizing price increases, quality control problems, and the frustration with Digital River's customer service. Finally, they react to the circulating rumors regarding a high retail price point for the unreleased iPhone 5.

You're listening to the GeekCast Radio Network

of podcasts. That sounds as if he's given his

blessing and he's allowing them to go ahead with

it Yeah Which is which is good news. I mean if

if they can if they can get it if they can get

the majority of the original cast back I mean,

I know that Sigourney Weaver has said that she

would like to be involved in it. I Know that

Ernie Hudson said he would like to be involved

with it. I don't know honestly I don't think

Rick Moranis will come out of retirement to do

it. He's just too... I don't know. He's kind

of like turning into like a recluse. The funny

thing about him though is that it's... What has

he ever really done besides Ghostbusters, Little

Shalva Horrors, and Honey -Eye Shrunk movies?

Well, I mean that's... Okay, and... And one of

the greatest comedy farces of all time, Spaceballs.

But I mean, outside of that, what has he really

done? I mean, he did My Blue Heaven, which was

a good movie. That was him and Steve Martin.

That was actually really funny. You've never

seen that? I'm remembering it now that you said

Steve Martin. Steve Martin was a mob boss or

something like that. Yeah, that's right. Yeah,

I remember that. I mean, it was a good movie.

I mean, he has a lot going on. But from my understanding,

the reason why he retired was because his wife

got really ill. Oh, well, that's weird. He got,

like, cancer or something like that. So he retired

so he could spend time with the family, which

is good. Good for him. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean,

I don't think he needs to have. If they do a

Ghostbusters 3, I hope and pray he would come

back, even if it's just for a little cameo. Yeah,

I mean, you know, cameos are what makes those

kind of movies nowadays. I mean, just look at

Starsky and Hutch and all that other BS. So,

what's your deal with Maddie? What's going on

there? Oh, it was... Did you see that video that

Scott Knightlick put up? Yes. You know, it's

like... Stop bullshitting people. Right now,

everything that he sends out in terms of videos...

6th. Are you positive? Yes. How positive are

you? Unless they extended it, which... Oh, no,

you're right, you're right. Okay, I... See? I

fucking see. No, you're right. I get confused.

I don't even pay attention to this shit and I

know when the fucking date is. No, you're right.

I just get confused because it's 8 -6. Yes, it's

8 -6. That's why the 8th is in my mind. Looking

at the DC Infinite Earths, that's not happening

at all. That's absolutely dead. That's not happening.

I'm looking at their little graph thing here.

and There is no way that they're going to get

that many people By the six I wish I wish mo

to actually put theirs like a little graph thing

there so you can see it but According to his

latest video which came out like two days ago.

They're around there at like 60 % Or something

like that. Yeah, I know a lot of people that

were kind of Like, it's gonna be okay, it's gonna

be okay, a lot of people haven't even got paid

yet, and when they get paid they'll sign up and

blah blah blah. I'm sure people have gotten paid

by now, and it's not pushing it over. I think

they're fucking everybody because of the whole

price increase, which puts international customers

at a higher tariff, which translates to them

paying higher import fees. So figures that are

now $25, I don't even want to venture guess how

much those figures are. For international fans,

I guarantee you a regular standard figure plus

the shipping would be over $45. I was thinking

something along the lines of like $50. That was

my guess. So $45 to $50. Way too much money.

And then Scott's like, no, it's the same thing

if you guys import something from Japan. And

I know that. I buy Takara's stuff all the time.

It is more expensive. Well, see, that's the thing,

though. But yeah, but. It's not a monthly thing

that we have to worry about. OK, but when you

buy Takara's stuff, where do you go to get it?

I get my stuff always from Kapow Toys. OK. For

those of us who don't use Kapow Toys, most of

us You know, that don't dislike, that don't dislike

Big Bad Toy Store. Most of us will go there.

And, you know, that's how, you know, yes, I know

I'm going to be paying a higher price for a Takara

TFA Rodimus. Yeah. But that's because it's a

Takara TFA Rodimus. I understand that. With Mattel

and Matty Collector, Matty Collector specifically,

what they are doing is they are increasing the

prices and then plus whatever the shipping is,

but the price increase because apparently international

shipping and whatever else has custom fees and

all this and all that. Right. You know, the customer

has to pay the custom fee. No, the fucking company

should pay the fucking custom fee. Yeah, that's

not that's not Maddie collector. I know I know

I know I know it's our it's customs and all that

stuff I understand that but yeah in his latest

video. He's like if this you know if this It

if the if the customer service is why you're

not subscribing That's gonna be taken care of

if this is what it is if that you know he's making

all these you know solutions He specifically

talks about the my subscription page which a

new thing that he's been talking about for months

now already that is supposed to allow us to go

in there change our shipping address to whatever

because everybody knows the pain in the ass problem

that that is it lets you change you know your

billing information he even I don't know if because

I've never heard him say this but I think he

screwed up and he said in there in that video

that it will let you change your shipping method

as well he's never said He's never said that.

He's never said that it would allow you to change

your shipping method. He just said your shipping

address. That's what it's always been. And your

credit card information. I mean, if they start

offering that though, if they start offering

the option to change your shipping method, like

if you start out using USPS and you don't like...

Oh, I would love that because I hate their USPS.

Yeah, they use they use a third party to do it.

I would rather pay a little bit more Yeah, and

you know get the figures when I'm supposed to

as opposed to having go off into Eternia and

hang out there for a month. I mean Eternia is

now in Sparks, Nevada Well, yeah, he's never

he's never said shipping method, but he said

it in that video so now it's almost like if it

doesn't come true now now it's a libel or issue

where He said it. And he's like, you know, if

that's one of your concerns, take that off the

table. Take it off the table. That's not gonna

be a concern in 2013. That's not, but they're

not listening. I swear to fucking God, I wish

I could talk to this idiot in person. And I had

my chance at San Diego Comic -Con and I blew

it. But I wish I could say, that's not what people

are pissed about. That they don't care about

that collectors don't care about the price that

you charge things for look at Transformers people

bitch about $15 deluxe figures, but they still

buy them Yeah, people still buy hot toys figures

at $200 on average Yeah, you know a collector

doesn't care about how much something's gonna

cost they'll figure out a way to make it work

if they want it Based on how good the figure

is and what kind of service you're gonna get

our figures We're constantly getting fuck -ups

Yeah, reverse shoulders double legs or you know,

yeah All right. Well, hold on in a line that

they specifically say is a very small line. It's

all hand assembled and hand painted The there

should be very very few Quality control issues

very very few if the line is as small as he says

it is Yeah, it's nice. I'll be in hand put together.

Yes Exactly. Now. Let me ask you this now. I

asked um I brought this up with Mike Lacey on

that toy cast special that we did good guy Yeah,

yeah, Mike's awesome He he he's the guy that

Currently has for 2012 for subscriptions and

I asked them with the price increase. Are you

going? You know, obviously you're gonna have

to cut back What are you gonna cut back to and

he said in 2013? He's only gonna get two subscriptions

versus four So, you know at least he's you know

being smart and not being but that's what yeah,

but that multiple stuff multiple subscriptions

is what Maddie collector banks on we'll see it

now Now, this is where I brought this up with

Mike is because I don't want your opinion on

this as well. Part of the new club features for

2013 is you buy a sub, you get a fan vote. Yeah.

I know for a fact all voting on anything is rigged

because it just is. Now, the reason why I say

the Matty buy a sub, get a vote is rigged is

because you have third -party sellers like Big

Bad Toy Store who will buy 50, 100, 200, 300,

400 subscriptions to keep their stock. Dude,

I listen to that Roast Goober podcast. Roast

Goobledinner, yes. Yeah, I listen to that for

the very first time. You know I don't listen

to podcasts. Yes, I know. When Scott was on there,

I wanted to hear what he had to say, and I listened

to the damn thing. And he wasn't on there for

the whole thing. No. You know, with like 10 minutes

left, he had to go do some other stuff, which

is fine, whatever. Yeah. But he was on there,

you know, Pixel Dan's on there, you know, I mean,

those other, you know, other people that I'm

sure. The He -Man .org people, yeah. Yeah, the

He -Man .org people, you know, and I give him

credit because they were asking some good questions

that, you know, he was answering, but there was

no real follow -ups to these questions. But that

being said, He specifically mentioned Big Bad

Toy Store as they have not yet renewed their

normal amount. Right. And that's counting big

time against their quota. Now, if they're at

60 % right now, I think he specifically said

that he's like, you know, if they don't get,

you know, he's like, that still leaves 95%, which

means they buy 5%. of the total subscriptions?

That's a fuck ton! Exactly. Well, okay, well

that's my point though. With this new 2013, you

know, club feature for members who buy a club

subscription, part of it is buy a sub, get a

vote. Right. Okay, if Big Bad Toy Store... If

Big Bad Toy Store has not bought any subscriptions

yet for 2013, that's all well and good. But if

they do, we know in order for them to keep whatever

stock that they want on individual figures, because

that's how they sell them third party, they sell

them. You can go on there, you can get a He -Man,

you can get a Ram -Man, whatever. You can buy

it individually without having to commit to every

other figure in that year's line. But if they

buy all these subs, Let's say, for example, they

buy 500 subscriptions to Club Eternia. That's

500 votes. That's what I don't get about this

fan voting thing. Does Maddie Collector go to

these third party sellers and say, hey, you can

have your 500 subscriptions, but you're Obviously

you guys aren't gonna get fan votes because those

will be nullified or do they just let it go and

just say hey Come to our site sign up. You know

what? They probably do they probably sit there,

and I mean I want to put a pass them to do this

They probably like okay go ahead, but you know

what we'll let you do that But we would really

like you to use that fan vote to vote for a certain

character because we already have the tooling

for it Yeah, yeah and see and see that's what

my biggest issue is with And not that I was going

to sign up anyway, but that's my biggest issue

with the 2013 sub. Besides the fact that there

are only two figures that have been announced

that I'm even remotely interested in, Ram Man

and Eternian Randor. Those are the only two figures

that I even care about out of the stuff that

they announced at SDCC. I know they're going

to announce more at Power Con and I don't know

if they're going to announce anything at Toy

Fair, or not Toy Fair, New York Comic Con this

year, but it's like... So far from what I've

seen, I don't give a shit. Even if it is Ram

Man, I don't give a shit, because I don't want

to deal with that hassle of it all anymore. Anyways.

It's a gigantic mess, but they're ignoring it.

They're blaming it on stuff. They're sitting

there saying, well, what's the price? It's going

from $20 to $25. And everybody else on that thing

was working it out. Yeah. And it works out. Did

you listen to that podcast? Yes, I did listen

to Roast Google. The one Scottish guy or whatever,

he's like, I can give up a KitKat. Yeah. I can

give up a KitKat. I can give up Guinness. I can

give up a beer. That's the thing. Collectors

will give up stuff. They don't give a fuck about

the price. It's not the price that's turning

people off. It's the service that they're getting.

It's the quality of the product that they're

getting. And it's all the horror stories. It's

Digital River that everybody's scared about.

Now, did you ever get a hold of the US -based

customer service? You called them a couple weeks

ago, didn't you? I never did. I got Mahmoud Ahmadimajad

again, and I finally, 15 days, I got it on the

30th. 15 days after they said, you know, it would

only take five to seven days. It took almost

double, or almost triple that. No, it did, well,

I mean, five to seven, you know, if it was five

days, it did take, you know, triple time before

I actually got my $32 refunded to me. You know,

like, whoa, look at there, I'm rich, 32 dollars.

You know, but it's like, everybody wants to sit

there and focus on the price. Collectors don't

care. That's proven time and time again, where

we will buy a Takara Transformer, a Masterpiece

Transformer for 250 dollars, when we know full

fucking well that in about a year and a half,

two years, Hasbro will release it at Toys R Us

for 100 dollars. will still buy it. That's, you

know, all these people, I understand their point,

but it's wrong. They're looking, you know, and

I don't care what anybody says. Everyone sit

there and be like, you know, you shouldn't say

somebody's opinion is wrong. They're wrong. That's

not why people are pissed. It's everything else

plus the price. They're looking at everything

else and they're like, no, this line is not worth

$25. or for international people $45 to $50.

Yeah. I mean, it's not worth it for one figure.

Now, that's only regular figures. That's only

regular figures, yeah. We're getting an $80.

$75, three -pack, the Fighting Foeman. $75 per

size figure later on. Now, that's going to cost

overseas people is probably going to be like

$150 for that thing. Yeah. Now, that $75 item,

that's a... That's a multi -pack. That's the

fighting foemen. The fighting foemen that we're

gonna be stuck with. It's gonna be a whole nother

fuckin' Star Sisters. Yep. That's what it is.

Yep. It's absolutely insane that they, I mean,

if they wanna sit there... This is exactly why

I am glad I'm no longer collecting toys. I like

collecting toys. I have no problem with it. It's

everything else. That comes along with it. I

mean I understand that this is a business, and

I understand that they got to make money hell

I know what that's like, but You have to sit

there, and if you're going to start pointing

fingers You need to point them in the right direction

otherwise you are not going to fix things if

you sit there And you're pointing finger at people

to like if you're not signing up because it's

too expensive You know you're going to kill the

line and blah blah blah. That's Sitting there

blaming people that don't deserve it If you sat

there, and there's no way that you can fix that.

Prices are going to increase. There's no way

you can fix that. If somebody doesn't want to

sign up for it because it's too expensive, there's

no way you can fix that other than lower prices.

But what they need to do is they need to sit

there and see why people aren't doing it. If

Manic Collector was smart, they'd sit there and

be like, OK, yeah, our customer service sucks.

We went with Digital River. The reason why we

went with Digital River, and again, this is something

that Scott has said. They went with Digital River

because they offered international shipping.

There's all the other Barbie collector, Hot Wheel

Collector, all these other. They don't have it.

And they don't have international shipping. They

use a buddy system, which I find ridiculously

hilarious because that's their official stance

on it. Exactly. And Scott's like, oh, well, Digital

River offers international shipping. If we didn't

have this, you'd have to use the buddy system.

And I'm like, oh, let's just, I don't know. But

this is why, I wish I never even went last year

to even try to get, I should have just stuck

with going to, I don't care. If Big Bad Toy Store,

okay, for 2012, again, using a round number and

a large number. If Big Bad Toy Store for 2012,

in 2011, bought 500 2012 subscriptions. Okay?

I don't mind sitting here going on their website,

picking, you know, essentially cherry picking

the figures I would want. And I don't mind paying

that extra price because hell, they've already

paid Mattel. Mattel's already got their damn

money. Yes, I'm paying Big Bad Toy Store and

yes, I'm paying their markup. I would rather

pay their markup than have to deal with fucking

Matty Collector Digital River customer service.

Because at least Big Bad Toy Store customer service

is actually good. Anyway, I agree. I agree. I

mean, but it's Again, it's it's people pointing

their figures in the wrong Direction and when

you're putting it in the wrong direction, you

can't fix anything because you're focused on

something else and I love how I don't know if

they plan this or not, but they've said They

said this last year and they didn't do it. But

they said this year that August 6th is the last

time. He said that he, I mean, in the roasted

Google or whatever. Yeah. Roast Google, yeah.

He specifically said that there is no way, I

mean, there was a guy who he talks like this.

Yes, I know. He cracked me up. I know. I think

his name was Danielle, so I don't know if that's

a guy or a girl. I think it's a girl, but I...

I have no idea. I don't listen to Roast Google

better on the regular, so it's not a podcast

I listen to. But Danielle... And yell sounds

like this, and it's hard to understand if it's

a boy or a girl. So I'm sitting here listening

to this person, and they specifically wanted

to know if they could extend this like they've

done before. And Scott said, no, it's absolutely

impossible. The sixth is the last day they have

before they have to send out. the numbers to

the manufacturers. What I find absolutely hilarious

about this is two things. Number one, last year

they made no mention of... Numbers well, okay.

They did talk about numbers for 2012 but because

of DCUC starting they kept extending it instead

of extending just DCUC they extended all the

subscriptions multiple times except for Ghostbusters

Well, yeah Ghostbusters is dead. No, I know I

know but did you see my review? I showed you

exactly why the damn thing's dead. Yes I know

poor poor statuette Dana. I swear to God her

hair I'm the more I look at her hair the more

I get pissed off at it It looks like fucking

Medusa's head. I know. So my second issue here

is that they kept extending. OK, the first issue

is they kept extending it and extending it in

2011 for the 2012 sub. Now we're in 2012. We're

getting ready to do 2013. They have said in order

for us to send the numbers and send all this

to manufacturing, whatever else, it has to be

done by 8 -6 -2012. There's no extensions this

time around. Right. the comedy in my heart is

laughing I am laughing so hard on the inside

because if Masters doesn't meet the quota which

it probably will it always does but if Masters

doesn't meet the quota and they go to a 6 or

12 or whatever the hell Scott says you know six

six figures a year 12 right whatever the hell

he said if Masters doesn't meet the quota they're

going to be 86 on 8 6 Yeah And really is anybody

subscribing to that watchman shit for a movie

that it came out for fucking years ago I Can't

I honestly can't imagine why anybody would Unless

you're a die -hard watchman fan. Yeah, I mean

watchman is it's it's really kind of weird because

That oh shit. I didn't want to print that um

Watchmen is a very, very niche sort of thing.

It's not very mainstream. It only got mainstream

because of the movie that came out, but even

then, only with hardcore people did it really

get mainstream. It was way too long of a movie

for just regular people to kind of watch. Yeah,

and for me with watch like I have nothing against

watchmen. I've never read the comic I've never

seen the movie, but and I you know I don't I

don't bash the movie, but it's one of those things

where I Saw the trailer and I was like oh, okay

that could look cool Whatever, but for me in

comics it has to be either characters I've already

known or it has to be something that really grabs

me like if you look at comic book movies over

the last 50 years 60 years however long you know

If you look at everything television live -action

animation all this stuff most of it is major

major characters You know Batman Batman grabs

everybody no matter you know well unless it's

George Clooney under the mask, but anyway You

know Batman grabs everybody because there's a

story behind it There's that you know Batman

Beyond I would love to see a Batman Beyond movie

that that would be friggin awesome. I think You

know spider -man the x -men All these characters

have been ingrained in comics history for 70

80 years and in film history for a long time

as well And those are characters that we all

know and love and you know, you've got you know,

I've got I people are gonna kill me for saying

this I forget who it is. Is it I know Zack Snyder

did something with it, but it's not Zack Snyder

It's got who the fuck wrote Watchmen. Jesus Christ.

I forget huh, I could care less well, all right,

but the person that wrote Watchmen or For example,

the person that wrote Scott Pilgrim. It's like,

you know, I have never heard of it before. As

I said before on this show and many other shows

is like, I rarely only got into superheroes through

cartoons and then I went back and read comics.

And if it's not someone that appealed to me,

I'm just not gonna pay attention to it. It's

a very indie comic thing with The Watchmen and

Yeah, it's it's You know the movie is not bad.

It's it's it's a very long movie. It's there's

a lot of kind of dull spots in it and It's you

know my first time watching I wasn't able to

get through the whole thing Kind of got I kind

of got bored watching the movie, but then I was

like you know what I'm gonna sit down and I'm

gonna watch the whole thing and it's not a bad

movie, but it's It's it's a very niche sort of

thing that appeals to only Really watchmen fans,

and it's not a hell of a lot of those Yeah, so

it's a it's a very delicate thing, but getting

the toy. Oh wait a minute. Oh wait. What is this?

pump Made made videos on club it's oh my god

This is this is new this is new you guys remember

blade Yes, the 87 movie. Yeah, you said a movie

they are reaching. Oh my fucking god. They got

blade here. Hold on. I'm playing this. Let's

see Turn the volume This will refresh why is

my volume not going up? Is it the actor that

played blade that he's making a plea to subscribe?

Yeah, they've been doing that You know, there

was a whole thing if you go back and you listen

to a few weeks ago Mike Lacey and I did that

toy cast episode Part in part of that episode

we read out what the four horsemen who sculpt

MOTUC Responded about it Yeah, they're they're

getting everyone in the he -man community to

respond about it and and It's it's amazing. I

mean Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're getting

blade from the 87 Masters movie to make a subscribe

Yeah, I can't even say the guy's name right.

Sore sore rod. Yeah, I know what you're talking

about I know who you're talking about so so they're

getting this guy to make this plea for For people

to subscribe to the stuff yet. We don't have

any movie toys from the 87 movie Can't get the

rights, you know, whatever else. Hey look You

know, I know a lot of people love Master's Line.

I know Mike Lacey loves it. I know my buddy James

Sawyer loves it. I know Pixel Dan loves it. I

know a lot of people love it. You love it. I

love it. We love the line. We love the toys.

We just don't want to deal with the hassle of...

That's what it comes down to. Yeah, that's what

it comes down to. You know, I mean, like I said,

I have no problem paying money. You know, I have

no problem paying $25 for a figure. if it's a

good figure that I don't have to worry about

shoulders being reversed and plastic cracking

and I mean there's so many various problems with

these things. It's just absolutely astonishing

that in a line that is so small like Scott Knightlick

always tells us Yeah. That there's this many

quality control issues. You got fucking retards

assembling your stuff, is what you do, is what

you have. You have goddamn idiots doing it, and

that's what's killing you. And then you have

Digital River, who, they're the ones that have

to handle it when you have stuff that's assembled

by retards. And then you have Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

trying to tell you that everything's gonna be

alright. Mmm, and I still want to know where

this damn United States based customer service

thing is I honestly think it's only through email

because sometimes when I like email Yeah, like

I was going back through and I was looking and

stuff. I was getting names You know initially

like mock moody. I'm a D majod and crap like

that now. I'm getting like Brett and April and

Must only be through the site through through

the email thing. That's what I'm thinking You

know, and that's stupid, because that's not what

we can't understand. We can't understand you

when we're talking to you in person. Give me

April to talk to on the phone, and that's fine.

I'll be happy with that, but. Oh, god. I can't

even make the joke I wanted to just because of

the name that you used. Oh, that would be bad.

Wait, April or Makhmud Ahmadimajad? April. Careful

my sister's name. That's why I'm not gonna make

the joke. That's gross. Nothing to do with your

sister. It had to do with some, you know, invisible

hot chick at metacollector .com that's on the

phone with you. Alright, so that's it for Team

Bottomless Variety Hour Episode 27, I think.

Yeah. Did you see this? Did you see this? Apparently...

This is this is trending right now on Twitter

that There's rumor going around that the iPhone

5 is gonna cost $800 Okay Right here a rumor

that Apple's next generation of the iPhone would

cost $800 has sparked fury among Twitter users

But there's no clear indication as to where the

speculation actually originated Users have reacted

angrily to the suggestion that the handset, often

referred to as the iPhone 5, will be priced at

$800 or £514 when it launches, as expected, later

this year. Despite a major redesign anticipated

in the new iPhone, this price would seem a staggering

move away from Apple's considering the 64GB model

for the iPhone 4s was just $399. So yeah, you're

doubling the damn price. And it's funny, I'm

reading through some of these tweets and stuff.

This one person is like, iPhone 5 for $800, it

better be bulletproof, waterproof, damage proof,

dirt proof, also fire proof. Siri better twerk

on. Siri better pop out of the screen and give

me a peep show. Yeah. What was the one? I retweeted

one that was actually hilarious. The thing about

the iPhone is, you know what? That person is

right. Because I think it's Canon. I think it's

Canon cameras and Nikon cameras. I see all these

commercials of waterproof, shockproof, heatproof.

Obviously to a certain degree. I mean, you know,

you throw your camera across the room against

the wall Yes, it's going to fucking break. But

if you like drop it or you know, whatever else

it's not gonna you know That's the thing if they

did make the what the the iPhone waterproof shockproof,

whatever else Then you know when people accidentally

drop it it won't break and you have to either

get a new one or you have to whatever else that

you have to do. Well, I mean, one of the biggest

selling points for the iPhone 4, and subsequently

the iPhone 4S, was the front and back of it is

glass. And the glass is supposed to be stronger

than Gorilla Glass. It's supposed to be the same

level of glass that's used in military helicopters.

That was almost dispelled right away because

people would drop theirs and it would crack and

I'm like People are like wait a minute. This

is supposed to be a fucking military military

helicopter glass and yet I drop it in the damn

thing breaks Don't make no damn sense, you know,

so they're redesigning Apparently they're getting

rid of the whole glass element I don't know but

the tweet that I retweeted that I was hilarious

was from this guy who said I'm not too worried

about the iPhone 5 $800 rumor. I'm sure at that

price it's a transformer. I would pay that much

for a transformer. If it's $800 and the damn

thing actually transforms by itself, I'd buy

that too. I held off on getting the iPhone 4S.

I have the 4 and I held off on getting the 4S

because I thought it was pointless to get the

4S when... Not even a year later, they were going

to be releasing a new one. So I planned on getting

a new one and signing up. I was going to switch

from AT &T to Verizon. Verizon, yeah. And get

the new iPhone 5, if that's what it's being called.

But fuck, $800. Yeah, that's a little ridiculous.

But again, it's only a rumor for now. Yeah, yeah.

And again, does that $800 get you like, 500 gigabytes,

you know does that get you a terabyte iPhone

or two terabytes the highest that they offer

in terms of their iPhones I think is only 32

gigabyte, but well, no they don't need that much.

Oh, no, they have 64 now Yeah, they have 64,

but that's what I'm saying like if the if the

64 is 499 or 699 or however much it is I don't

even know I'm not looking at the prices. Let's

say the 64 with a contract of Verizon is $600

or $500, whatever. If the iPhone 5 is going to

have a base price of $800, does that mean that

the memory in it is a terabyte, two terabytes,

something obviously higher than 64? I don't know.

I mean, because with previous iPhones, they're

all tiered. Yeah. Like right now, I have a 16

gigabyte one, because I don't really need that

much space. Although, I have discovered that

in shooting videos. It takes a lot of space.

It does take a lot of space, especially since

it records them in 720p HD and everybody's saying

that the new iPhone 5 is gonna be full 1080,

so that'll probably be important. So I might

end up having to get a higher one, but I mean,

it just depends. I mean, but you know, you go

from 16 to 32, you know, to 64, so on and so

forth. I would like to see You know, a higher

base one, but not that much money. I don't know.

Yeah, that's a lot of money. For a phone that

I would be terrified if I do drop the damn thing.

Yeah, and it's like, you know, the thing is,

like with me, I've been with AT &T and T -Mobile.

AT &T at the time, I had the 3GS. I never had

a 4. I left them, I went to T -Mobile and I switched

over to Android and I had the HTC sensation and

all that stuff. I love the Apple products, but

I don't want the damn hassle of a cell phone

plan. I have Skype. I have a Skype subscription

that in total between the US and Canada subscription

and my online number subscription, it's 60 bucks

a year. I would rather pay 60 bucks a year than

... you know between fifty and a hundred dollars

a month for a cell phone bill i'd rather just

get an ipod touch and you know obviously connected

through my wifi so i can have you know internet

on my phone or not my phone but on my ipod i

would rather just have an ipod i love apple products

i love what they're doing with their products

but i don't you can get it you can get a i think

you can get an ipod ipod touch now yeah um with

with why or where you can actually not not just

wifi but you can get it on a plan Yeah, you can.

Where you're paying monthly. And if you do that,

then you can use Skype on that. Well, no, I can

use Skype on it even with the Wi -Fi. Because,

let me see, iPod Touch, Apple Store. Let's see.

Select an iPod Touch. It is. All right. For a

64 gig, which I probably wouldn't even get that.

I'd probably get the 32. But for a 64, it's $400

for an iPod Touch. They do have 3G and Wi -Fi

models. I would just get the Wi -Fi model, because

I've already got my router set up. I don't need

a 3G plan at all. Again, that's an unneeded cost

to me. So. Well, yeah. I mean, I bought Vern.

Yeah, she she at night. She likes laying in bed

playing video games. She had my old iPhone 3

or something I mean it was really old and she

was in video games on it and stuff and a lot

of the new games It's it's they they run slow

because the RAM on those old ones just you know

it's not powerful enough Yeah, so last last Christmas

or the Christmas before I don't remember when

exactly but I bought her a touch, just so that

she has something that she can lay in bed with

and play. It's one of the newer generation ones,

so it's all fancy and stuff, and she loves the

thing. Yeah. Yeah, I mainly use... I mainly use,

when I had the iPhone and the iPod and all that

stuff, I mainly used it for the online stuff,

the Twitter, the Facebook, and I also used it

for games, but I also use it for just listening

to music or whatever else or podcasts. My iPhone

is my iPod. Yeah. Yeah. For a while, I had a

regular cell phone, and I had an iPod. I just

had an iPod itself. And I was like, you know

what? I constantly carry both of these things

around with me all the time. Why don't I just

get an iPhone? Yeah, that was exactly my thinking,

was I don't want to have to carry a cell phone

and an iPod or a Walkman or a CD player or whatever

else. And at the same time, it was like, oh,

iPhone was the best solution, because I'm sorry,

none of the other companies or none None of the

other non -Apple products have a decent way of

allowing music. I know Google now is streaming

music you can buy, but all of my stuff is done

through my iTunes library when it comes to my

music. So I have to convert the shit to MP3,

put it all in a folder, put that folder in the

phone folder to transfer it from my computer

to my phone where... It's a pain in the ass.

It's a pain in the fucking ass. Like Kid Rock...

only releases CDs. He does not allow his stuff

on iTunes, which is fine. That's perfectly fine.

Yeah, you can buy the CD and put it on iTunes

yourself. Yeah, or you can buy it off of Amazon,

and you can buy a digital copy of it on Amazon,

and you can transfer it into iTunes. But it's

a pain in the ass to do, and I never remember

how to do it because I do it so infrequently.

Yeah. I don't understand why. Certain artists

and bands are are not on board with iTunes Because

it's I mean, I know he isn't I know like Bob

Seeger is it Bob Seeger isn't AC DC isn't yep,

Metallica for the longest time wasn't they finally

eyes up it's Honestly, it's it's like, you know

with Bob Seeger it's like dude Nobody's going

to buy a CD of yours. You're too old. You're

too irrelevant. If you want to make a couple

extra bucks, put it on iTunes. Now, Kid Rock,

I can understand. He still releases stuff. Well,

right. But I mean, OK, you can take a look at

Kid Rock. You can take a look. All right, let's

take a look at a Ben. Well, I think you like

them while you play their song every night on

your Ustream. Not every night, but every Saturday

night. Take a look at Nickelback. Nickelback

releases an album every two, three, four years.

Right. They release a CD. They release all, you

know, deluxe CDs. They still are releasing physical

albums. They're also releasing stuff in iTunes.

I don't understand why a lot of these artists,

if Apple is giving the artists a cut of Let's

say for example kid rock. What was that kid rock?

Sheryl crow song was it not not take a picture.

That's the filter song I think it was just called

picture. It was a it was a duet with him and

him and Sheryl Crow. Yeah If you put that on

iTunes at 99 cents and it's downloaded a million

times I mean, come on, you know Apple's gonna

give him a cut of that money It's not it's not

like the fucking days of Napster where people

were stealing this shit right i agree whatever

all right so we're gonna wrap this one up hopefully
