About this Episode

A frustrating experience with MattyCollector’s customer service regarding a defective Masters of the Universe Classics Griffin figure serves as the jumping-off point for a discussion on their business practices. The conversation explores the recurring issues with automated email systems, unclear return policies, and the challenges of receiving replacements. The discussion concludes by evaluating the 2013 subscription model, rising costs, and the overall state of the MattyCollector service through Digital River.

BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BWAAAAA - I hate Mattel.

Back on Thursday Because I would have went up

to Scott Knightlick the toy guru himself who

I'm no longer calling toy guru He's not the TG

He's a TG, but he's a toy goddamn idiot Because

their wonderful new customer service Based here

in the United States still gets me somebody in

India Now I don't have any problems With people

in India. I love Indian food, for example. That's

very racist. I'm not gay, but my boyfriend is.

It's hard to understand. We've talked about this

before. You have a very thick accent, very hard

to understand. They were supposed to get a new

customer service base for customers in the United

States that when they call... They're supposed

to be able to speak to somebody that has... ...understandable

accent. Someone who's based here in the fucking

United States of fucking America. Well, Achmed

might be based in the United States, but he's

still Achmed. Okay? And... Yeah, but at least

you can understand Achmed and being a dead terrorist.

Thank you very much! Thank you very much! Okay,

yes. So... This is what happened it has been

documented About what it's been going on with

me and Maddie collector Regarding my Griffin

I Got a Griffin with it was like two left arms

or something like that or two right arms whatever

So I contact that contact them back on June 24th

so I honestly don't even remember when I got

the figure, technically. The sale was the 15th.

I got the figure maybe a week later on the 22nd

or something, and I finally opened it two days

later on the 24th, whatever. So I send the email

out. This is what I said in my email. I emailed

them just so I would have a written documentation

of this entire process, because we've talked

about this before, where when you call into them,

they magically lose case numbers. Yes, I wanted

to have a documentation about this so I emailed

them on the 24th It says I opened my recent purchase

from you guys are the masters universe classics

Griffin figure order number blah blah blah blah

blah blah blah blah and had this problem I posted

the image on matty collector comm forum you can

see the pictures here, and I post the link onto

the matty collector forum Where I bitch about

this as you can see? My figure has two left legs

on the front half of the figure. This is obviously

incorrect and an error. A faulty figure isn't

my fault, so please send a replacement to and

I give my address. Yes. That's all I did. The

next day, I get a message. Dear Paul, thank you

for contacting MediCollector .com online store.

In order for us to process your claim for your

order, please provide us with the following information.

Product received and quantity. Was the package

damaged or opened upon delivery? We will process

a claim on your behalf, which can take anywhere

from three to five business days to process.

We apologize for the inconvenience." That's what

they sent back to me, or after I replied to them.

Right. My reply to them was, no, the package

was closed and sealed. This appears to be an

assembly issue. And that was it. Their reply

back to me the next day was, Thank you for contacting

MediCollector .com online store. We apologize

for the issue that you encountered. Please supply

the following information so that we may have

UPS pick up the incorrect or damaged product.

We can have UPS pick it up at a different address

from the delivery address if it is more convenient.

Upon receipt of your email, UPS will be attempting

to pick up the product on up to three... consecutive

business days, if necessary. The first attempt,

maybe as early as the next business day. Please

have your package ready. And I have to, and then

I have to provide them with the information,

my address and stuff. So that's fine. I replied

to them. This was on, I mean, I received this

on the 26th. I probably emailed them back and

then they email me back on the 27th. My reply

to them was, are you providing me with a shipping

label? I am not paying out of my own pocket to

ship something back to you. You shipped a defective

item to me. This is your error, not mine. Please

provide a shipping label or credit me the money

necessary to buy a label. I paid for a figure

and paid for it to be shipped to me once already.

I will not pay double again for something I have

already paid for. Provide me with the shipping

label or credit me the shipping money I already

paid and then I will return the defective item

that you sent me. They replied Thank you for

contact meeting collector. It's all of us started

with that Please provide us please provide us

with the needed information so we may request

this They didn't answer my question. They just

asked for the same information. They asked in

the previous email there Yes, they're recycling

emails. Yes, so they're recycling emails that

was on the 27th that they replied I replied back

to him This is the second time you've sent me

that so I'll reply with the same message And

I just copied and pasted the exact same message

that I sent to him. And then I sent that off

to him again. And then we get another email.

Thank you for contacting MediCollector .com online

store. We apologize for the inconvenience that

this has caused you. We understand that you want

to know if you will be provided with a shipping

label. We show that once you have provided the

information needed for us to pick up the product,

you will be receiving further instructions on

update or update regarding what you will put

in the package. So it's like, they're refusing

to answer my question until I give them the information

that they want. So I'm like, okay, that's fine.

So I send a message back to them. All I said

was my shipping address and that was fine. After

I send them that. Dear Paul, thank you for contacting

maddiecollector .com online store. We apologize

for the issue that you encountered. Please supply

us with the following information so that we

may have UPS pick up the incorrect or damaged

product. And then they go through again and want

to know the same exact information that I just

sent them. Now, that was on the 29th. Obviously,

Saturday and Sunday, they're not open. So my

reply comes back to them or my reply comes back.

And I said, do you guys not read previous messages?

And in all of Capital Letter. Yeah? Let me just

interrupt you just for a second, because this

issue, what we've gone over in the last, I don't

know, four and a half minutes of this eight minute

episode so far, it's an automated response system.

What needs to happen with their customer service

if you, you know, what is it, cs at mattycollector

.com or whatever the hell the email address is.

I don't freaking know. I don't pay attention

to Matty Collector anymore. But whatever the

email address is, You send your complaint or

you send your, you know, whatever. It should

then give one automated reply, stating in the

automated reply, dear blah, blah, blah. Thank

you, blah, blah, blah for, you know, contacting

bitch collector .com. Um, you know, and then

it, then after that, it should say we've received

your issue. We will pass it along to a customer

service representative and they will get back

to you. Kind of like what iTunes does. If I ever

email iTunes or Apple and all that stuff, if

I ever email the iTunes store, they send out

one automated email that says within the next

24 to 48 hours or 24 to 72 hours, whatever it

is, and then someone with an actual Apple address,

an actual apple at apple .com email address will

get back to you and You're technically talking,

you know, even though it's through email, you're

technically talking to an actual person instead

of constantly getting this recycled email bullshit.

Absolutely. So I send them or so I reply to them

with that information and they say, again, thank

you for contacting themedicaleditor .com online

store. Thank you for the information provided.

We have sent a pickup request through escalations

regarding the defective figure. Griffin to be

refunded or a replacement. Please allow five

to seven business days for a response. Please

keep ticket item number for reference, blah,

blah, blah, blah, blah. That was the last time

that I heard from them. Now, what's weird is

that that's through my regular email. Then I

started getting emails from them on my actual

email. that is through my actual email that's

listed on Maddie Collector. So I'm like, okay,

that's really kind of weird. And then I get a

message that says, thank you for contacting the

Maddie Collector online store. We will be issuing

a UPS pickup for the return of the item. For

order blah blah blah the first attempt will be

on Tuesday and each three other three days So

on so forth your pickup tracking number is and

then they give me a pickup tracking number Please

include all media and material associated with

your product this comes from Brady a regular

sounding name I mean pretty cool if you ask me

and then So I reply to them, as I've asked, yet

you people refuse to answer. Who's paying for

this? I don't have a label to put on the package,

so what do I do? I refuse to pay for shipping

this back to you. It was your error shipping

a defective product to me. I already paid to

have a proper figure sent to me. I'm not paying

twice for something. So then, John Mark L. Replies

to me your order will be picked up by UPS as

what the email states or as what the email below

states UPS will be picking up the package, and

I'm like the fuck's that supposed to mean so

and I'm trying I'm trying to go through here

um And I don't know where that email. Oh wait

instructions for Okay, so I don't know so basically

then then they reply to me, and I don't know

what I do with that email But it says that Basically

they explained that the UPS driver will have

a label for me All I have to do is put it in

a box and all I had at that time because I threw

it away Was the package I don't I threw away

the packaging for it. I don't keep that stuff

So I threw all that crap away So I just put the

figure in a box and I taped it up and had it

and when the UPS man came here He had a label

ready to go for me And then he put the label

on there, and I have a return service receipt

right over here, shipped to Digital River, CS,

blah, blah, blah, Minnetonka, Minnesota. I'm

like, why is it going to Minnesota? That doesn't

make any sense. Shouldn't it go to California

here? But whatever. Now, I look in my email today,

and it says, thank you for ordering from MaddieCollector

.com. At your request, We've initiated a return

request authorization. This authorization will

expire in 30 days. We want to make sure that

you're properly credited. So please return the

products on or before the return due by date

below. And it says order date was June 10th.

And it tells me to mail it back to somewhere

in Ontario, California. And I have to do it before

August 15th. I use the tracking number. that

they picked, that they gave me on July 2nd. This

thing was picked up on Tuesday, last Tuesday.

It was picked up July 10th. It was delivered

to them July 10th. Now I'm getting an email from

them almost a week later saying that now they

want me to send it back to them. I've already

sent it back to you. So I'm like what the fuck

is the deal? So I call them up. Hold on, hold

on, hold on. Before you get into the phone call,

I have to ask you this question. Yes. You're

talking about the email, how the email kept saying

the UPS driver will pick up blah, blah, blah,

and they weren't answering your question of,

well, who's paying for this? Now, my question

was going to be, even though you already just

answered it, was going to be, did they mean in

the email that when the UPS driver came to collect

the package that he was going to have a label,

which, in fact, he did? He did, which is a good

thing. That's cool. Right, exactly. Except it

would have been nice if they explained that in

the email. Exactly. If they articulated that

nicely in the email format, it would have been

awesome. I just read to you the entire conversation

in the email form. And for once, they sit there

and say, they just tell me that UPS is going

to come pick it up. Yeah. OK. But who's paying

for it? I mean, they need to really redo their

automated messages or something. So, I call him

today. Alright, so we get to the phone call.

You call him up. I get Habib. Well, I get Habib's

wife. I don't know. And we're sitting there.

And I'm explaining her the situation. She's like,

Oh, please be patient. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Please hold. We're sitting there. It keeps going

back and forth. You know, I am just waiting for

the information to come up, sir. Please hold.

So I'm holding. I'm holding. Finally, about five

minutes later, she gets all the information.

And she's like, yes, I see it here. Now, it appears

that as of today's date, a refund is being processed.

I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait.

A refund? I don't want a refund. I want a replacement

figure. And she's like, I understand that, sir,

but it says here that a refund was requested.

I'm like. Why is a refund requested? I don't

want a refund. I want the figure. I want a replacement

figure Well, we it says on here that we can't

send you a replacement figure because they are

sold out I'm like I understand that they're sold

out But don't you have but don't you people have

reserve? Figures that you can send to people

in case of situations like this. Yes, sir. We

yes, sir We do have some of those but we don't

have any more. I'm like, are you fucking kidding

me? How many people's griffins had two left legs?

I mean, come on. It's not even necessarily that.

Griffin has had... There have been a lot of problems

with the griffin in terms of a lot of paint issues.

Right. You know, where it's been scraped. It's

like the paint wasn't dry when they put it in

the package. So people were probably doing it.

I'm like, but... Really? You went through them

all? I initiated this whole procedure with you

guys all the way back on June 24th. Yeah. You're

telling me that... you know all this time now

I'm screwed because it took you guys so long

now now you guys have no more remaining product

to send me a replacement I don't want my money

I want a replacement figure I want the figure

I like the figure I was all set I was all set

to sell the goddamn thing because I didn't think

I was gonna like it but then I got it and I liked

it and I told I bet I told the guy I'm not gonna

sell it Because I liked it! Well, you know what

you should do? That's just my advice. Pull my

hair out? No. Well, you can pull your, you know,

the rat off your neck. That'll work if you shave

that, you know, rat beard. Oh, give me a break.

Coming from you? Shut up. Here's what you do.

You just let it go. If they give you a refund,

like if they refund on your card, Go Secondary

market and get another one and just don't even

deal with it. Honestly. I mean, yes I know you

want them to live up to you know, correct Business

practices, but let's face it. This is fucking

Maddie collector. This is a fucking digital river

now when I say this now I don't want the listeners

to to confuse me saying, you know, this is fucking

Maddie collector This is fucking digital river

with oh, this is Mattel blah blah blah. No, this

has nothing to do with the you know Me saying

what I'm saying now has nothing to do with the

product itself. It's more so my entire rant about

their business practices. They fucking suck.

They do. And what is amazing to me is that the

lady is telling me, how much was the Griffin?

It was $30? $30 plus shipping. From what she

said, I'm only getting like $31 back. I'm not

even getting the cost of the shipping return

to me. What was your what is your shipping method

USPS you if it's USPS I think I Don't know what

it is on larger figures. I forget I know on standard

figures. It's it's like 870 so yeah, so it should

have been I should have been getting like 40

bucks Yeah, something like that, but she said

it was like 31 that I'm getting which is probably

just the figure in tax So it's like, you know,

it's just unbelievable. Unbelievable. And had

I known that this was going to be a problem,

like I said, I just found out about this today.

Had I known that this was going to be a problem,

I seriously would have went up to Scott Knightlick

and I would have been like, what the fuck are

you people doing? You know, you're telling us

that you're getting a brand new customer service

is supposed to help things. It's supposed to

make things better. And yet it's still Cluster

fucked that's all that's all I can think of to

say. It's all a giant cluster fuck now Oh, I

love the figures the figures are not from Mattel

I don't care what anybody sounds says these figures

are being done for a collector. They are from

Mattel No, they're not from any of these people

It's they're licensed through Mattel and Maddie

collector, but they're given to us and they're

made by the four horsemen It's them that are

doing this. We've seen what Mattel's in -house

sculptors do with the Ghostbuster line. That's

a bunch of horse shit. This is coming from the

Four Horsemen, and what the Four Horsemen do

is fantastic. I absolutely adore and love their

product. It just fucking sucks that Mattel has

the license for this and takes great product

and great -looking figures and flushes it down

the toilet because they choose to stay with a

company like Digital River to handle, like you

said, their business practices. And it's, I've

always said this, that it's not, I don't necessarily

blame Maddie Collector, except for the fact that

I blame them for sticking with these people.

And it's asinine. The website and Digital River,

I consider separate from Mattel, but you know,

Mattel Inc, Mattel Brands, Mattel... TM, whatever

the fuck Mattel's trademark is. I consider mattycollector

.com and Digital River a separate entity. They

are essentially the big bad toy store for Mattel.

I've looked on here, looking at my own advice

to you about just taking the fucking money and

just buying another one off eBay. A couple of

them are ... asking for the lowest one is 28

.99 which is mint inbox for a griffin so that's

not too too bad no it's not let me see what uh

let me see if i can see the uh the completed

listings here what the griffin has sold for is

completed listings on the griffin oh they're

all in the red holy shit no one's okay The first

one, two, three, four, the first five are in

the red. The one that sold, the two next ones

down that have sold, $29 .99 and $30, plus, obviously,

whatever the shipping is, $25 .99 sold. The rest

of it's all in the red. Oh, okay, that was a

multipack. No wonder that didn't sell. So yeah,

I mean, if you just let it go and you took their

refund and went on to pay... That's perfectly

fine, and that's probably what I'm gonna do,

but it's... It's the principle of the thing.

I mean... I fucking agree wholeheartedly, yes.

It's just such a pain in the ass. I mean, when

I sit there and start feeling good about them,

and then, you know, and start doing the reviews

again, and then they shit on me. And not just

me, I mean, a lot of other people. It just seems

to happen to me a whole lot more. It's just...

You know, look at our history, and I'm not trying

to make this about me, I'm trying to make it

about you, but look at the two of us and our

history with MaddieCollector .com and Digital

River. You know, the whole schedule change and

blah blah blah and all this and all that and

all the shit with my subscription shit, the stuff

with you. Defective ghost trap. Hello. Oh, yeah,

I know, you know, you know all this shit and

I'm like, you know You kept saying when you're

at San Diego comic -con Oh the hoverboard looks

great and I'm just the first thing I was thinking

is the okay might look great You know, it's not

mine's not gonna work probably I've already decided.

I mean mines mines was the price on that $200

Oh, I don't I don't even remember. I don't remember

what the price novel or was but what I'm saying

is like when Mattel goes into replica stuff for

me It's like a huge like red flag sirens and

just like just somebody screaming in my ear go

the other fucking way Yes, the pke meter replica.

They did was great. The ghost trap was You know

at least in your case was fucking horrible as

hell right, you know, and the funny thing is

is how And we've talked about this more. And

this doesn't just apply to any toy company. This

doesn't just apply to Mattel. This applies to

any toy company. But Mattel specifically, you

bought two of them, one for yourself and one

for JT Mitchell. Right. How the hell can yours

be broken and his be like, what is their quality?

Do they have an assembly line where they're like,

OK, we're going to make this one right. We're

going to have this one fucked up. Blah, blah,

blah, blah, blah. And just go down the line.

Seriously? Every other one is fucked? Really?

I mean, sir, come on. I mean, that's probably

a little bit extreme, but it's like, I mean,

mine. Now, if I bought four of them and I got

two that were defective in one, then maybe. But

it's like, I mean, odds are, I mean, if you get

two of them, odds are I'm going to open the one

that's busted. I mean, that's just the way it's

going to be. That's just the way it works. Have

you ever seen and this is because this is team

bottom is right here We always go off topic here,

but have you ever seen the thing was 95 96 Mel

Gibson movie Maverick Not that I remember you've

never seen Maverick it was with him Jodie Foster

James Gardner was in it It's based off the old

TV series Brett Maverick Essentially, there's

a country song in there by Clint Black called

Good Run of Bad Luck and that's exactly what

you have with Mattel, with Matty Collector. I'm

almost half -tempted to put that song in this

episode. It's extremely possible. It's extremely

possible. It's just, it's unbelievable the stuff

that I have to deal with and... It's absolute

bullshit that we we have to go and continue to

support these people I'm honestly surprised that

that website and digital river are still in business

because the simple fact that I know several people

have Gone to the bit gone to the Better Business

Bureau about Manny collector dot better bit better

business being a better bit is The Better Business

Bureau doesn't do nothing. It's just a it's just

a collection of complaints that you can go to

and you can see You know, if a site is, or if

a company is reputable or not to do business

with. It doesn't mean anything. I mean, it's

just a, you know, movie review website for websites,

basically. I mean, it's ridiculous, you know,

but I am not signing up again for this. No. I'm

absolutely not. You know, I haven't seen all

the coverage yet. Actually, before you... Before

you got on to do this rant, I was just about

to watch Pixel Dan's SDCC Maddie Palooza walkthrough,

or the walkthrough he does with Scott Nylak.

And I haven't seen it yet. I'm about to watch

it. But from the pictures and from the tweets

that I've seen, the club exclusive for 2013 doesn't

impress me. OK, 2013, we're getting Ram Man.

That's great. For most people, They're gonna

get ram man day of sale and then that that that'll

be it. That's really all they're interested in

The prices did go up Five bucks 25 bucks for

subscription $27 for cherry pickers for that

don't get a subscription and again as I've said

before people are not realizing and I'm gonna

do the math on this right now if you take a standard

figure $27 and you take the USPS shipping times

870 Oh Whoa, where the hell did that? You're

not supposed to multiply. You're not supposed

to multiply. Hold on. 27. Hold on. Times? 27

plus 870. Ah, damn it. That's 3570 per standard

whiplash, Skeletor, He -Man, Spy Corps. That's

3570 per standard figure. Per standard figure,

yeah. Then there's going to be four. beasts slash

variants slash multi -packs, whatever that means,

which raises the price considerably. And there's

one of each. There's one at $25, one at $30,

one at $50, and one at $75. Yeah. Fuck that subscription.

One at $75? I mean, it's insane. But oh, check

this out. Check this out, man. Because now when

you buy a sub, You get a vote. Did you see this?

A vote? A vote. A vote. Oh, a vote. Okay, I was

like, wait, what vote? You can, it says here,

all 2013 Club Attorney subscribers now have the

chance to vote on a new 2013 fan choice figure.

For every subscription you purchase, you'll receive

a code to cast your vote for a figure to be produced

in the fall of 2013. Isn't that exciting? And

then, also, now the exclusive figure includes

two items. You get a mini poster of Subternia.

Isn't that awesome? Subternia. And then on top

of that, you get the fourth mini comic. So now

the mini comics aren't even coming with the figures.

You have to buy the subscription to get it. So

it's like, wait a minute. They're supposed to

be four figure. I mean it's like there's four

car There's four comic books now if you want

to get that fourth one you have to have the subscription

That's a kick in the nuts I Can't stand that

and then on and then the other special bonus

thing and then this is what this says early access

to non subscription products in 2013 all club

subscribers get early access to all new or all

non -subscription products, regardless of the

brand. That means you'll have a chance to purchase

hot items not available through subscription

before non -subscribers, like the 2012's Batman

Rises 8 -inch Batman figure and the Ghostbusters

P .K .A. prop -bleh -bleh -bleh -bleh -bleh -bleh

-bleh. Availability has first come - I mean,

so, what they're basically saying is like, if

they're gonna reissue figures, uh, like, like

- This month, I don't even know what it is. You

know, say they're reissuing... Oh, shit, I'll

look. Let me see. Are they doing an actual reissue

of a He -Man figure? There's no reissues this

month, are there? Oh, it's just Spikor. Wow.

Okay, alright, hold on, let me... I'm not sure.

I'm looking here, but let's say they decide to

reissue... Shit. Let's just make one up. Say

they decide to reissue King Hiss. That means

that on the sale date, we'll be able to buy these

figures a little bit earlier. Whatever that means.

It doesn't specifically tell us what time. Let

me see. I know you don't have it up on here,

so let me pull it up. It just says that we'll

have a chance to buy them. We'll get early access.

So maybe we'll get a day. heads up or something

like that I I guess that's all I can think of

and then they still you know tell us you know

that we're like you like you mentioned figures

will be $25 but the actual like you said cherry

pickers they still have to pay $27 and Let's

see Subscription orders generally begin shipping

to business days before non subscription orders

so subscribers usually get their orders before

non subscribers whoop -de -doo, I'm sitting here

looking at this and all this stuff is Absolutely

ridiculous. I mean, it's so incredibly stupid

all I do is see on here is money money money

money money that's all they want money money

money money money they they say that the figures

were getting twenty twenty seven dollars worth

of you know sculpted figures and we've kept the

prices low all this time blah blah blah and sure

and then you send up you send out figures with

two of the same fucking arm I mean, it's just

unbelievable. And I haven't read up on all the

2013 subscription stuff, as I stated before in

the show. Right. I've pretty much stepped away

from Maddie Collector and all that stuff. I do

want to see, like I said, Pixel Dan's video just

to see what's coming. Because I am interested

in seeing the products. And I want to see if

they talk about Ram Man or whatever else. But

honestly, yeah. I mean, Rain Man was the biggest

thing that everybody wanted. That was the biggest

thing, you know, and I'm glad... Thank God he's

not the club subscription figure. That's exactly

what I was gonna say. That's exactly what I was

gonna say. Now, the club subscription figure,

I think, is a neat idea. It's King He -Man. It's

an older He -Man, you know, with, like, gray

hair, as a king, you know, with a crown and everything.

That's a cool idea. I dig that idea. But it's

not... good enough for me to subscribe to this

POS system. I'll just buy it aftermarket and

I'll pay higher price for it and that's fine.

But no matter how much I end up paying for that,

I'm not going to pay as much as I would have

because I don't have to get bullshit figures

that I have no interest in. I mean, so I can

sit there and I can be a cherry picker and go

through it. You know, the other thing that kind

of pisses me off about Maddie Collector They

have opened up again the club Well, where's it

at? It's um first first they have They have a

watchman club. Yeah Watchman give me a fucking

break. Okay. They're continuing on with the club

infinite earth Subscription, but they're doing

again where there's gonna be a requirement. They

have to require they're requiring selling people

Or getting people to buy these as fans ourselves.

We're dying to really dive deep into this line

That's what they say on here So you had they

have to sell a certain number, and I don't think

it actually says They just have this stupid little

graph on here that if you get to level one Level

one is the minimum number required to move forward

with the 2013 subscription Yeah, so they're gonna

do this for the you know and and here's here's

the thing They're only selling these to August

16th. That's it. That's it. And they say there

will be no extensions. They say that every fucking

year. And yet last year, the subscriptions were

extended through like December. Yeah, I know.

But what again annoys me about this is if they

want to go ahead with the 2013 figures... or

the subscription, we need to sell a certain amount,

otherwise we're not gonna do it. So you better

fork over the cash, or we're not gonna do it.

Boo hoo hoo. And then, here's the thing. There's

a level two, which is a minimum number required

to investigate fully -tooled figures for 2014.

Oh, God. And as far as I know, I don't see a

certain number. Like, we need to have... Yeah.

or whatever. Yeah, we need to have like 2 ,500

subscriptions. And it says right here, throughout

the subscription sign -up period, the thermometer

will be updated to show how close we are. If

we don't hit the goal, then we won't be able

to offer the club. But if we do, the club will

move forward and will produce the mind -blowing

lineup we have planned for you. You know what?

Why the fuck couldn't they do this with Ghostbusters?

Yeah, exactly. Well, you know what the thing

is here with Maddie Collector, and this is what...

this whole like at first when I and before I

even signed up for a subscription for for 2012

yeah you know when I got into them when I you

know when I first saw Dan's videos when I first

saw your quote -unquote battle cat video and

you know and everything else um and I and I got

back into the line I got really excited you know

you gave me that first Adora and whatever else

and and all this and all that, I got really stoked,

really excited. I didn't quite mind buying the

extra, having the extra cost from BBTS, because

I would buy a figure maybe once every two months.

So it wasn't like I was spending $1 ,000 in Masters

figures all at once. I wasn't overspending my

limit. I wasn't going out of whatever extra money

I could put towards getting a new figure. I liked

that I thought it was great and then you know

the 2012 club sub came up and and I was like

cool this is great every month it's gonna go

you know the the wheels are gonna turn the wheels

are being greased everything's gonna be great

and then the whole scheduling because of product

availability got fucked up and everything else

and I am now of the opinion where club subscriptions

online fucking suck They just do end of story

in my opinion they fucking suck Mattel needs

to drop this club bullshit and Just sell the

figures online instead of you know in your case

with Griffin and in your case with with the ghost

trap instead of You know as you said earlier

in the show instead of you know you calling them

up and them saying oh, we don't have any Extra

replacements. They're already gone, you know

for defectives. That's fucking bullshit because

you know when they do Mad Maddie Monday or whatever

sale they're gonna have extra sale and I'm thinking

why not just you know Space out your pro. Okay,

say um All right Mesquite or who's supposed to

be coming out or you know, whatever You know,

say a new figure's coming out, a new standard

figure, just the regular, you know, $27 figure,

whatever else. Stink Oar, let's just say Stink

Oar, okay? You put however, like say they order,

and I'm not saying that they order this many,

but say they order 2 ,000 Stink Oars, or say

they order a large quantity of each figure, right?

Which is obviously what they do, because they

have so many customers. So you put this amount

of Stink Oars, available online to purchase day

you know day of whatever sale no subscription

people buy them and you hold back obviously what

you need in case of whatever else and if you

know later on in the year for sales whatever

else and if someone misses out on it you know

most people know for the most part that deal

with this website in this line most people know

that at some point stink or is going to come

back on sale again whether it's a reissue whether

it's this whether it's that whatever else right

and just get rid of the fucking subscription

yeah i you know the the subscriptions only in

place to to guarantee that we're able to get

them if they made enough you would never have

to have that but this is guaranteed sales that's

that's the only reason why they do it dude It's

guaranteed sales. It's guaranteed sales that

let them have money for figures that they know

that most people probably wouldn't buy. They

know Adora is gonna sell out the ass. But somebody

who like Icarus isn't going to sell nearly as

well. Yeah. So this is a way to guarantee that's

only going to work. The other one I saw from

2013 was like, I don't know, some weird name,

but it was Eternior or Eternien or whatever the

hell it was. I don't know what it was, but it

was the Filmation King Randor. Yeah. And I know

that they just got the quote unquote Filmation's

rights last year at Comic Con, whatever else.

Where was attorney or attorney and whatever that

because it has some specific name so they can

have it you know be the Filmation King Randor

where was the filmation King Randor back when

I was buying burger King Randor you know I mean

seriously you know I mean it's like really they're

gonna do this now I don't know I just amazing

it's it's absolutely amazing to me that they

constantly keep doing this and I wish I Almost

wish I would have went to the damn Maddie Palooza

just so I could you know scream boom While I

was up there, I know I know I know my wife would

have I know she would have I mean, it's just

is your renting out of your system. Yeah I think

I'm... Well, I could bitch about people bitching

about me doing an hour -long video on Bruticus,

but... Nah, we'll save that for another show.
