About this Episode

The hosts revisit the 2008 Knight Rider television pilot film, 'Prometheus,' examining how it serves as a modern continuation of the original 1982 series. They discuss the transition of KITT from a Pontiac Trans Am to a Ford Mustang, the voice acting performance of Val Kilmer, and the plot involving the kidnapping of Charles Graiman. The conversation covers the film's production, similarities to the original series' "Night of the Phoenix" pilot, and the cameo appearance by David Hasselhoff. They also address concerns regarding the film's soundtrack, character dynamics between Mike Tracer and Sarah Graiman, and its status within the Knight Rider franchise.

Hey everyone, this is TheMusicMan08, one of the

Whoever was driving that car knows we were here.

Might have seen our faces. If we're lucky, 24

hours before the police and FBI are all over

us. Our job is to deliver Prometheus. And now

the girl. That's exactly what we're gonna do.

Welcome to Beyond the Night, it is the year 2014,

it is a new year and we are back and we are here

talking about something, well at least something

I actually love for the most part. There are

going to be bits and pieces of Knight Rider 2008

that I don't care for, mainly anything after

episode 12. I am of course TFG and Mike and joining

me is Dan the Music Man, hello. It is 2014, we

are back and we are ready to strap in once again.

Yep, and boy are we gonna need to some pretty

rough safety belts here Crap oh Okay, so this

started out as a TV pilot film to see if it would

get picked up to series and That's what we're

gonna be discussing today the the TV pilot film

entitled Prometheus This is basically picking

up 26 years 25 years after the original series.

This is Knight Rider 2008 is a continuation It

is not a reboot. It is not any kind of team Knight

Rider crap. Thank God. Yeah Now I know that Glenn

a Larson had Some sort of I don't think he had

creative control, but he had like executive producer

creditor. I thought it Insult into credit or

something like that because they're using his

characters At least you know the the name and

the car and all and all this and all that now

we have to talk about the fact that The original

kit was a trans am the kit 3000 is a Mustang

your thoughts You know, I was hoping that they

would have you know, maybe found a trans am In

2008 But maybe they just decided you know what

we've got to go with a newer car. This is a new

year You know the Trans Am was great But you

know, this is supposed to be an updated version

of the of a classic show This is you know, like

you said, it's a continuation So, you know it

it when I first saw this to be honest and and

you know We talked about this at the very very

beginning of the show in the intro. I think it

was Thereabouts I said that this show I didn't

like it. Yeah, just because of what I saw and

It was like okay kit. Yeah kit still has the

the scanning red light. That's cool They kept

that classic look, but the rest of it. You don't

have the console. You don't have the You know,

you have the monitors you have the monitors,

but you don't have the you don't have the console,

you know the You don't have the... Oh, what the

hell is that? It's the deal where Kit would talk.

You have that, but it's not like the bars. I

can't think of what it's called. There's a difference.

See, in the pilot film, he had this on -screen

kind of thing where there was a bar. It was more

of an homage to the old scanner, because the

new scanner is just a line that goes back. It's

not like the original scanner. It's a straight

red line that... that fades in and out and the

noise is that the scanner noise is there. The

scanner noise is there. With the interior of

the car in the pilot film, he had this like hand

print kind of designs, you know, display and

within that there was a scanner. It would look

like the scanner. that was his vocals and you

could see as he talked you could see the vocals

you could see the scanner moving up and down

so i thought that's kind of a cool nod now that

that was the pilot film in the series it changes

it's a it's like a circle like a red circle but

it has the it has an updated version of the original

kit scanner bars from season three season two

on so um it's interesting and you know i get

it they have to update it with technology right

I mean, what I love about this show and about

this series is the touchscreen windshield. That's

just awesome. The heads up display. And this

is just simply awesome. Now, when I first heard

about this, I was like, hmm, OK, interesting.

Now I had read interviews with the guy, Justin

Bruning. Yeah, the guy who plays Michael. Who

plays Mike Tracer. And, you know, he's roughly

around my age, I think, maybe a little bit younger,

might be a little bit older. I forget. I don't

have his information pulled up, but he was a

child of the 80s like us. And he grew up loving

Knight Rider and he wanted to do this and he

thought it was going to be really cool. Now,

most people will remember him from Believe it

was all my children. Yeah, he was a soap opera

actor. Yeah, he was He was Tad's son that's what

it is. He was he was Tad's son now I'm telling

you you may have not liked this series on premise

when you first heard about it But after I point

out all the little things I've noticed that tie

it back to the original you're gonna love this

even more First of all, Bruni was a soap star

Hasselhoff was a soap star. Yeah. That's funny.

Now, when we get into the discussion of the film

here in a couple moments, there is so many similarities

between Mike Tracer, Kit 3000, and Michael Knight.

And the Kit 2000. So many similarities. There

just is. There really is. I've said before, I

wish There was a problem with this show I don't

know if it was ratings or or what the deal was

or NBC wasn't gonna fully get behind it after

It kept flip -flopping. Oh, it's gonna have 17

episodes. Oh, it's got bumped back to 13. Oh,

it's got bumped up to 19 episodes It's got but

it got near the end Yeah, it got near the end

where they were talking about, you know, cuz

everybody was wanting a season two people were

pushing fans Fans were pushing for a season two.

Yes now it ended up being Seventeen episodes.

Was it 17? Yep. Yep, it was 17 episodes. Yeah,

because they were talking about 22. I think the

last number they picked was... Originally there

was going to be 22. It got bumped back to 19,

then it got bumped back to 17. And it was just

one of those things where either NBC wasn't getting

the ratings that they wanted or it wasn't bringing

in the viewers that they wanted. And everybody

kind of flopped on the advertising. Ford has

its own car in the show, and they barely advertised

it after the 12th or 13th episode. No, they didn't.

So, you know, it's just one of those things where,

yep, 17 episodes starting with a knight in shining

armor all the way through. I love the nightlife.

That is not including the pilot film. With pilot

film, it's 18, but... With Prometheus, you know,

it's very... And I probably sound like a broken

record here. This is an updated version of 1982.

It really is. Now there is somebody that I've

mentioned on the show who we've not spoken to.

But it's a guy that I know that I've mentioned

him before Ron Hitchcock Mm -hmm. He he saw it

He saw 2008 and he said it flopped he just did

not like it at all and That's his opinion, right?

He didn't like it. He liked the 82 series 82

to 86 when he knew when he heard about the 2008

series he he just didn't like that now my I have

one small complaint and I'm sure we'll get into

it It is the music that they chose for this series

You mean in the series or mean in the series

not the theme? Okay, the updated the updated

the updated theme I can kind of understand to

a point They kind of wanted to update it to a

point like is you know You kind of hear a little

bit of the classic theme and then it kinds of

kind of goes into a rock scene But I understand

what they were trying to do But it's the music

that they chose in the series you would think

maybe they would have gone back to Don Peake

or another composer. It didn't have to be Stu

Phillips Somebody somebody with the same kind

of sound that Don Peek had in the 80s. It would

have brought it back for 2008 right The music

in the series is I Think what they tried to do

with it is they tried to I Don't want to limit

it to this because I know it's not this but I

think what they trying to do is I think they

tried to pull a CW where the CW network, all

of its shows have music tied into it where, oh,

you heard this song on this show. You can go

here and listen to it here or buy it here or

whatever else. And I think at some point during

this series, I think that's what they tried to

do, which is not exactly a good thing at all.

No. The theme composer was Christopher Ting.

Other stuff that he has done, I'm trying to see...

He composed the music for several television

series including Futurama, The OC, Night Rider

Suits, High Incident, and Rescue Me. Yeah, but

the some of the songs that are like the the licensed

songs like the you know like the You know stuff

like Huey Lewis in the news that was her was

or what you know was covers in the original series

I can see why you wouldn't like that now the

actual theme song There are several people At

least one that I know that doesn't like it and

he's a buddy of mine. I kind of co -host on his

show called talking about my generation Doug

Abel He hates the new theme and I'm thinking

are you kidding me? It's too much. It's too much

hard rock sounding See it. It's not for me. Well,

no, no, no. No. Here's why it's it's like, okay

I like I said they needed to update it that you

don't want to use the original theme for the

show granted Mean they hit it has the original

theme in it. Yeah, it has the original theme

in it But it's like it's like way too much There's

way too much of a drum machine and then you kind

of switch near the end So it's I guess it's a

nod to the classic at the beginning It kind of

starts out that way and then it kind of here

Then it builds up it builds upon it switches

gears. I'm like I said, I'm amazed that they

didn't keep to you maybe an updated version of

Stu Phillips and Glenn Larson's deal, because

they both wrote that. But see, that's the thing.

In today's society, even at this point, six years

ago, today's society is all about, especially

with a show like Knight Rider, it's an action

show. You know, the theme back in the old days

was great. It was cool. It was awesome. Plus,

you had the voiceover from... Richard Bass Heart.

Richard Bass Heart at the time. Right. This has

no voiceover, which I like because it's a theme

that you recognize at first. And then you're

like, ooh, OK, so that's what I know. And then...

It switches gears. They downshift on you and

they bring you into this whole new updated thing.

It took a while for it to grow on me. It's one

of those themes as soon as I heard it I was like

I need that because I want to play it over and

over and over again. It'd be nice if there were

an actual mp3 you could legally buy. I'll just

rip it out of the show. All right, so That's

gonna do it for this. We'll be right back this

first clip now I wanted you guys generally when

I do a review show here on the GCR and I want

to make sure the listeners kind of get the full

feel of The whole aspect of it Hello, Sarah Grayman.

I've been trying to contact you for the past

several hours. Great. Who are you? I know your

father. He has sent me to find you, as it is

probable men who wish you harm are following

you as we speak. Look, if my father sent you,

he would have given you a code word. He did.

The code word is night. Where are you? I just

entered the library. Good. Continue inside. If

someone attempts to follow you in without proper

identification, you will see it. Good idea. Yes,

I know. That man didn't have an ID? Okay, what

the hell is going on? Who are you and how do

you know all this? There's no time to explain.

You're breaking up. Did you see the front entrance?

Hello? Mike, what are you doing, man? This is

not a good idea. They're not taking the car,

Dylan. Mike, what are you doing, Mike? Get the

garage door. What are you, crazy? They're standing

right there, man. You know we can see. Don't

do this. Get in the car. Know how your mind works.

Get in the car. Get in the car. Get in the car.

Calm down. Sarah, are you there? Yes, I'm with

the campus police men right now. He could be

one of them. What? The sooner we ID this guy,

the better chance we have of catching him. Ask

him a question, campus security would know. Yes.

You hear me? Yeah, he started after me over by

Wilson Tower, and then I crossed through the

Gunther building, and then I ended up in the

library. Okay, I'll get my guys right on that.

In the meantime, you better come with me. I bet

there's no such thing as the gum for building

all the Wilson Towers. Oh, there's Sarah. Clever

girl. Just like your father. How do you know

my father? Because I watched him die. No, you're

lying. There are only two people in this world

who could decode your father's work. Help us,

and I'll let you live. Refuse, and I'll reunite

you with your father directly. I will never help

you. I'm sorry to hear that. She's in the car

from last night. Hello, Sarah. I apologize for

being so brusque on the phone and for my tardiness.

What is this about? I am currently working to

form a reasonable hypothesis to answer that question.

But my father did send you! Correct. Is he dead?

I cannot be certain of his condition or location

at this time. The mansion's perimeter was breached

by men with hostile intent. My program for that

scenario is very specific. Who are these guys?

They are the same men who assaulted the Greyman

home last night. Alright, we are back, and for

Prometheus, the Knight Rider 2008 TV film...

It's created to serve as a backdoor pilot for

the new Knight Rider television series, a revival

of the series of the same name, which aired during

the 1980s. This film does not refer to either

of the Knight Rider 2000 film or Team Knight

Rider television series. It kind of does refer

to Team Knight Rider a little bit at the very

end, but after that. So basically the general

plot here is that the home of Charles Greymon

who apparently was the one of the or the super

secret original creator of the original yet uh...

was attacked and these men are looking for him

because they work for some unknown person there

one of those shadow companies that only does

stuff for money and they Want his files his hard

drives and they need him to decrypt those files

and hard drives So they kidnap him or who they

think is him Then we get Mike Tracer and his

buddy Dylan who apparently owed $90 ,000 to these

guys It's just it's just so funny it really is

And then after that, we go to Sarah Grayman,

Charles's daughter, and Kit contacts her, and

Kit is voiced by Batman, ladies and gentlemen,

from Batman Forever. Val Kilmer is the voice

of the Kit 3000. I like his voice, it's alright.

It works. I still think they should have tried

harder for William. That may be... Everybody

knows that that role... he made a a definity

in that in that voice yes that may be but you

know it's still kilmer is still a good updated

voice you know really because from what i guess

from what i had heard they were they were trying

to get bill but he had too many commitments yeah

i think wasn't he at this time still doing um

Bob not Bob not Bobby's world. He was never on

that was never on Bobby's world. He's still doing

I'll name that show boy meets world. That's what

I was thinking. Yeah, I think he was So I don't

mind that it's not him because again we we needed

we we knew that it was going to be something

new so Having something new is more than fine

with me. It's just one of those things that,

you know, you got Val Kilmer and... It was supposed

to be someone else originally. Originally it

was supposed to be Will Arnett. Yeah. Because

the reason why it wasn't him anymore and they

had to get Val Kilmer is because Will Arnett

has a standing a commercial job with I think

GM. Yes. So a rival car company. Yeah. Ford.

So they couldn't. They couldn't do that. Really

do that. So we've got Sarah Grayman teaching

a class and we've got the FBI agent Kerry Revai.

We've got the sheriff who is basically on the

bad guy's side informing them of Kerry's every

move. We've got Kit, Sarah, and Michael finally

coming up and getting together and driving out

to wherever they're supposed to go and Charles

calls them and gives them new directions. So

there's that. Sadly, the Black River guys kill

Mike's mother. Right in front of him. Yep, right

in front of him. What I did like about the plot

is the fact that Charles had the sense and the

knowledge to check into four different rooms

so you couldn't tell which room he was in. That

was awesome. Going back to the beginning here,

a couple of my notes are there are so many awesome

things seen in the Greyman home in the beginning.

The license plate! What did you think of kids

technology the nanomite color change? I thought

that was kind of awesome It was it was great

to see that you know like you know we're but

we're talking about this is an updated show You

know so this was actually awesome to see it in

a way it kind of reminded me of Knight Rider

2000 except for the fact that You know there

are two distinct differences and in the 2008

movie. This is You know, it's it's supposed to

change and then in 2000 it was virtual reality

So and they're not even dealing with virtual

reality in this one, but it's still awesome in

either case. Oh, yeah Mike's bad luck is kind

of a complete opposite to the real Michael Knight

to a point and I can see the gambler in him as

Knight himself bet real money with Kit in the

original because he used to play cards with him

all the time. So there is that similarity. And

it's very interesting how these new yet familiar

characters interact and bring out the emotion

in each of them. I mean, you have... What is

essentially a Michael Knight and Bonnie Barstow

relationship in Mike Tracer and Sarah Greyman

except for the fact that with these new characters

They actually were in a relationship at one point.

Yeah So I can kind of see that back and forth

with the two of them that'll go on as the series

goes on as well as Mike and Kit are very similar

to the old Michael and Kit. The chemistry between

them is simply awesome because at the end of

the film he's like, mind if I drive, is this

going to become a habit? Yeah. They depart and

they drive out of a cargo plane, so there is

a little bit of Team Knight Rider. Yeah, there

is, yeah. Thankfully none of the bad parts of

team I don't know how anyone sure everybody can

be critical and have their opinion of stuff I

don't know anyone any Knight Rider fan that really

loved the original cannot love this film because

it pays so many different homages to the original

series with the relationship between Mike and

kit with all the different things all the history

the fact that you know you know 25 years later

they're making another kit and the fact that

Tracer's father is the original driver of kit

the original 2000 you know so I really love this

movie I think it's really really awesome and

great it's just one of those things where it's

a nice setup To an episodic television series.

What are your overall thoughts? What did you

like and what didn't you like? Well, what I didn't

like is something we'll cover later in the series

Later later on in the series, but what I did

like it was kind of What I what I did like about

this was that it kind of told the story of the

original Mike Tracer Yeah, you know before he

before his name was changed I still I still would

like to know though You know, obviously, you

know, we see Michael might at the end and he

does you know, I'm your father and You know,

obviously we knew that Michael in the original

series were of course there. He was so associated

with so many women Yeah, I still don't I still

don't know which Jennifer that was now I know

they say her name is Jenny Tracer's mom, right?

I don't think it was Jennifer Knight. No, I Really

don't think so. So I think it was it might have

just been a coincidental a Coincidental after

Stevie kind of thing, right? you know and I Know

a lot of fans were like, ooh, are we gonna see

David? Are we gonna see David? Are we gonna see

David? And then we see him and I looked at him

and I'm like Okay, it's great to see him. He's

gotten older. He looks really, really bad in

this. I mean, he looks like... a stretched out

beluga whale or something. He just doesn't...

I know the guy's old. I get it. Hasselhoff is

old. Everybody ages. I understand that, but...

I know his life has taken his some of his life

choices have taken a toll on him right with his

alcoholism and everything else But like he didn't

it was nice seeing him and it was really cool.

It was a nice continuity nod So and of course,

you know mentioning the the Wilton night thing

that was awesome What did you think in the ending

where Tracer wasn't going to take the job at

first? I could see that because it was kind of

a nod. Yeah, it was a nod to Night of the Phoenix.

Because in Night of the Phoenix, they save him.

He doesn't really want anything to do with the

Foundation. He's kind of be he's kind of wanting

to be on his own and of course, that's when we

discover kit for the first time Yeah, kit can

talk. What the hell was that, you know And you

know, then of course you fast forward 25 years

later and you know Charles Greyman is talking

to Mike in the in the vehicle and he's just like,

you know, I'm sorry. I can't help you And you

know Charles was like well so am I and You know

I think David at the end kind of convinces him,

but he says you know I'm not telling you what

to do the choice you know the choice you make

is up to you at the end, but I think he took

it because Maybe he felt that he had you know

maybe he just maybe his self -esteem was brought

up Just a little yeah, and I can see that not

only not only that You know, I think he, I think

David kind of wanted him to know that, look,

I kind of went through the same thing, different

circumstance. Yeah. Oh yeah. So I think, you

know, I think that was a nod. I think that was

really kind of a nod. It was kind of a late,

a later version of Devin Miles minus the British

accent. If you think about it. Because yeah,

you know, he's saying look, you know 25 years

ago a man told me that one man can make a difference

on his deathbed and You know his father sent

standing there telling him that In you know after

the funeral and everybody wanted to see David

after this movie You know people were psyched

about that, you know David's coming back, you

know and then They kept trying to get him, and

it was scheduling conflicts, I guess, that prevented

him from doing it. So the Prometheus film was

the only thing he was in. And to me, that's really

sad, because everybody was wanting to see David

in this. Yeah. But at the same time, it had to

be its own thing. And I think that, especially

with where the series goes by episode 12, I think

they would have brought him back if they hadn't

had episodes 13 to 17. If episodes... Christ,

it's... Well, it's two out of the three series

we've reviewed. It's like one or two seasons

out of the original, and now this series has

an episode within it that should have been the

finale and not just another episode. Right. Right.

in the middle. And we'll get to that when we

get to it. Prometheus, I loved it. I thought

it was awesome. I thought it was really interesting.

I kind of wish in the series that these Black

River guys would have kind of come back. But

the series, again, paid attention to building

up the character of Tracer versus bringing in

his father again. David would be too old to do

a lot of this stuff nowadays Probably not sure

II and no Feeney ended his run in 2000 so I assume

that William Daniels just had either didn't want

to do it or they didn't ask him or Or if they

did ask him maybe like like you said with some

of the other people he had other commitments

and yeah stuff so So there's that Overall, like

I said, I really enjoy this film. It is a really

cool film It's a good film. If you are just not

really sure about Knight Rider 2008 the series

watch it. I Don't remember I have the DVD set.

I don't remember if the movies on there. Yeah,

it is. Okay The the the DVD release was something

interesting because and I took advantage of this

at the time They had before the series was released

because it's released as Knight Rider season

one. Yeah, it was only one season They had at

the the music store or digital store FYE had

a sale going on where if you bought any NBC box

set, law and order, special victims unit, whatever,

you bought one box set, as long as they still

had copies available, you would get a free single

disc DVD with the film on it by itself. And I

took advantage of that because I wanted to see

the film outside of television, outside of the

television airing. Right. And it was really well

put together. It's the same material that would

later be released on the season one set so That's

that's pretty awesome because I have the box

set of Knight Rider season one I've looked all

through all those discs and could not find the

movie So I'm like, okay, are you talking about

no no, it's Knight Rider 2008 season one. Yes

You couldn't find the movie on there? Really?

No. Maybe you need to get your eyes checked.

Yes, I know how insensitive that was. What eyes?

Smartass motherfucker. That's funny. I have one

that's prosthetic and one that I can't reprint

with. Ew. That's just nasty. No. Just made it

look like a real eye 2008 Yeah, it has it it's

Knight Rider 2008 commentary See I can't scroll

down the screen like and Yeah, you'll have to

I'll have to look at my DVD later and show it

and tell you where it is But it's on there. It

is there. Okay. Yeah It is on the season one

set, so... Alright. You guys are going to be

taken to a quick break with some ads and we'll

come back with final thoughts after this. Because

my father trusts him. How far out of our way

do we have to go? I'm not yet sure of that. You

don't know where he lives? Is this the correct

address? No. He hasn't lived there in years.

In anticipation of that, I have devoted other

resources to finding him. There are numerous

images of Mr. Tracer in Las Vegas over the last

10 months, and as recently as two days ago at

an ATM. What? How do you know that? I scanned

his face into my database, used profiler software

to search through faces of the Internet, as well

as various feeds from public and private security

cameras. That's not scary at all. Hey, GeCast

we are back. Any final thoughts on Prometheus?

No, it's well put together. It, to me, is a nod

to the classic Night of the Phoenix. In a lot

of ways. But there is something I would kind

of like to know if kids supposed to be updated

how the hell can you not You know, I think it

was in this I think it was the movie. How the

hell can you not find something within cell towers?

I Think it was in the I think it was in this

one You you mean his tracking? Yes. How the hell

can you not track and you're supposed to be an

updated car? He couldn't track the people at

the time because they were trying to hack into

him Was that what that was okay, I was like,

okay, how the hell can you not yeah, that's what

that was. Okay? That's what that was. The other

thing that I don't get is okay Charles Is supposed

to be the creator of the kit 3000. Yeah, and

It's almost like Sarah takes all the credit For

that well and I'm like, okay No, no, no, no,

no, no, no, no. No. No, what she does is as the

series progresses she is the main one taking

the credit for The technology as it goes along

not because she helped him work on it originally.

Yeah. But as he's kind of passing the baton to

her, she's creating new programs for kit. So

yes, while Charles did build it and he did build

the original kit, she was only taking credit

for what she helped him work on with with the

new one. She's kind of a stuck up Bonnie. Just

my thought. Yeah. I don't know. She wears a dress

better than Bonnie does. That's next week. Thank

Now ladies and gentlemen, you are going to hear

an extended clip to close the show out. It is

the ending of the Prometheus film, so have fun

and we will catch you next time. How old were

you? Maybe five. I don't remember taking it.

What could've made me smile like that? You don't

have to leave, you know. People here care about

you. I can't stay here. And what about you? You're

back to school? Brock, the boyfriend? Actually,

I'm gonna stay here for a while. Make sure my

dad's okay. Make sure I am. We should go. The

car's waiting. This one doesn't talk too, does

it? I know what today is, but there are things

to discuss. Like what? By tracing calls made

from the Black River cell phone, last night FBI

agents recovered Charles's hard drives just outside

Dubai. The encryption had not been broken. Congratulations.

They arrested a middleman who was transporting

the materials, but the man believed to be behind

this is still at large. The FBI knew that Charles

was building another kit. We've known for some

time I'm resurrecting the foundation Mike. We

will be working in cooperation with the FBI.

Why are you telling me? We want you to drive

it This is insane no the world is insane. This

is the definition of sanity Chance to make a

difference We were going to use an FBI agent,

but the truth is, there are some missions even

we can't be too closely associated with. Your

ex -military, savvy, smart, with no family to

speak of, no ties. Look, I know the timing isn't

great, but we need someone immediately. You have

to make a choice, Mike. Either participate or

withdraw. I just... I don't believe in the same

things you do. I can't help you. I'm sorry. Yes,

am I. Thanks. I'm Michael. Michael Knight. I'm

your father. Mike. I know. You know, I was standing

by waiting to say goodbye by myself. But I realize

I said goodbye a long time ago I Was horrible

to her and blamed her for everything She did

a good job raising you And it been easy wasn't

easy for either one of us She loved you Very

first day. So now what? You move forward. Charles

tell you? Yeah. Look, I can't tell you what to

do. That's up to you. About 25 years ago, there

was a man named Wilton Knight. who on his deathbed

told me one man can make a difference. I was

that man. Take care of yourself. Hey, Michael.

Am I gonna see you again? I hope so. I came back

here that summer, you know, after school. Planned

on spending every minute with you. I remember

showing up at your house, and your father telling

me you were already gone. Up at Stanford for

the summer. Suddenly it all became so clear.

We may have grown up a few miles from each other,

but we were both from different worlds. And right

then I knew we were bound to end up in different

ones. See you say that and yet Here we are Two

days ago an American diplomat was found dead

just outside Prague the FBI sent in a team to

investigate 12 hours ago they failed to check

in and have failed to since then Their last known

contact was an operative known as Sidewinder.

We now believe Sidewinder's working both sides,

so be careful when you find her. Mike, Mike,

Mike. Now this is a serious machine. You don't

deserve it, really. You think you can do us all

a favor and avoid crashing it? Please, because

this time around the FBI's picking up the tab.

I'll do my best. That hardly sounds reassuring.

I've recalibrated all his settings, so a system

will be impossible to track. I helped. I'm sorry.

Take care of yourself, okay? Good luck, Mike.

See you soon. I am incapable of happiness, but

I will say it seems logical that you are here.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Mind if I drive?

Is this going to become a habit? Definitely.
