About this Episode

TFG1Mike and PecanCtMichael discuss two Season 3 episodes of Phineas and Ferb: "The Great Indoors," where a biodome helps Isabella's fireside girls during bad weather while Candace tries to discover what Jeremy likes about her, and "Canderemy," where Candace and Jeremy get stuck together by Dr. Doofenshmirtz's Combinatron while Phineas and Ferb build a giant robot dog. The hosts rate the episodes and dig into running gags, character moments, and some stomach-turning creations.

Hey, this is Steve Bloom and you are listening

to the Geekcast Radio Network. There's a hundred

and four days of summer vacation The school comes

along just to end it So the annual problem for

our generation is finding a good way to spend

it Like maybe building a rocket or fighting a

mummy or climbing up the Eiffel Tower Discovering

something that doesn't exist, or giving a monkey

a shower. Surfing tidal waves, creating nanobots,

or locating Frankenstein's brain. Finding a dodo

bird, painting a continent, or driving her sister

insane. As you can see, there's a whole lot of

stuff to do before school starts this fall. So

stick with us, cause Phineas and Ferb are gonna

do it all. Hello and welcome to episode 62 of

Pauka, the podcast organization. Without a cool

acronym, the small a is silent. Brought to you

by the Geekcast Radio Network. I am of course

one of your hosts, TF2 and Mike. Joining me is

Pecan Court Michael. Hello. Hey, how's it going?

It's going. I hope it continues to go, and I

hope it continues to run properly. Run, internet,

run. Today is the 62nd day of summer sort of

and this means it is the day that the DC RN finally

gets back to our Cartoon Review podcast for 2020

all about Phineas and Ferb season 3 episodes

61 to 84 of this show will be season 3 and Today

tonight whenever you find people are listening

to this we have the great indoors and Ken Jeremy

This biosphere can simulate almost any environment.

Can we cook or can't we? You guys are the greatest!

So, the plot for The Great Indoors. Bad weather

spoils Isabella's plan for the fireside girls

to earn an achievement patch, so Phineas and

Ferb build a huge biosphere, or biodome, where's

Polly Shore when you really need him, to help

her and her troupe. Meanwhile, Candice works

herself into a frenzy as she decides that she

needs to find out what Jeremy likes about her.

Over at Evil Incorporated, Dr. Doofenshmirtz

is trying to reign out a big soccer game just

so he can watch his favorite Spanish soap opera.

And who doesn't, to be honest? What did you think

of The Great Indoors? Uh, no sir, I don't like

it. Really? Yeah, you know, I'd probably, you

know, jump in the gun a bit. I'd give it a two,

because... It just wasn't that great. I think

it stems from the fact that they made Jeremy

sing, and he's just not very good at it. Well,

he is in a band. Does he sing? Yeah, I mean,

I don't know. Orally. And then like half the

episode was in Spanish. Couldn't understand it.

You know, it's not I don't speak Spanish. I Did

I didn't understand what Eddard Matador dear

more? When I am not destroying the bull I am

I am in love God's gift to Hoi Minh Lord, I think

that's a movie by an Antonio Banderas Probably.

El matador de amor. When you say el matador,

I think of despicable me too. Or despicable,

yeah, it was despicable me too. Yeah, with el

macho. That's right. That's right. Yep. That's

right. Yeah, that's funny. But the whole premise

here is, you know, it's raining, so we'll make

a biosphere. as one does. Yeah. I guess. It looks

like a giant golf ball. That's why it gets a

two. It gets a two. Oh! Jeremy and I went to

the movies! Jeremy's house smells like gingerbread!

Ever notice Jeremy's mole is shaped like an adorable

puppy? I'm starting to feel like the only reason

you hang out with me is to talk about Jeremy!

Stacey, I - I miss you, Candace! I miss when

we would spend time together, just the two of

us! And I bet you didn't remember that today

is the Danville Street Fair. Stacey, I'm so sorry!

I'm gonna cancel with Jeremy today. Meet me at

the cafe in a half an hour and we'll hit the

street fair afterwards! It'll be just the two

of us, I promise! Really? Great! But no, Jeremy,

anything! Okay? If I even hear his name, I promise

I won't break this promise. See you in a bit!

Alright, uh, the plot for Ken -Daromy is as follows.

Candice realizes that she needs to spend more

time with Stacey, so she vows to spend the whole

day with her only. But while visiting Jeremy

and his mom, Mrs. Johnson, Dr. Doofenshmirtz's

combined inator zaps her and Jeremy, literally

joining them at the hip. Meanwhile, Phineas and

Ferb build a giant robot dog that causes a lot

of mischief. They should have just given a monkey

a shower. You know, it would have saved a lot

of time. I do love, though, when they do pull

out the gags from the intro and actually make,

like, use them in the episode. I do enjoy that.

I think they tried that a couple of times in

Can Jeremy. Uh, you know, they mentioned the,

um, it wasn't the monkey, the sharp, but they

did mention, uh, Frankenstein's brain. Uh, they

cross. Oh, wait a minute. No, that was the other

one, wasn't it? Where they, they crossed off

the find a dodo. Yeah. Yeah. So what are you

talking about them? I'm talking about Ken Jeremy.

Oh, okay. Well, when did they, uh, reference

something from the, from the theme song? Uh,

Yeah. Which one? I'm pretty sure the giant robot

dog. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. Sure. Sure. Why not?

Yeah. I was actually referencing back a different

episode. I was like, Oh yeah, they talked about

finding a Dodo and yeah, you were talking about

last week's episode. No, no. In, in Ken, Jeremy,

Phineas and forever have constructed this giant

robot dog and Buford even says after the dog

picks up the the molecular separator, Buford

says this would have never happened if we'd given

a monkey a shower. I'm just saying. Ah, yeah,

of course. Yeah. As one does. I guess. Uh, yeah,

I don't have a lot of, um... I guess I didn't

write down a lot of things for the great indoors

for Yes Yes We Do or No No We... Wow, where the

hell was I when I watched these episodes? The

only bad thing I have for degrading doors is,

ugh. Doofenshmirtz grossed me out. Really? Garlic

ice cream roaches? Ew! Oh, God. That was the

Combinedinator. Yeah. That was, that was Candaramee.

Yeah. Oh, I thought you were talking about...

Was it? Yeah, it was Candaramee. He had the combinator

and he was crossing garlic and garlic ice cream

and that's which is the triple scoop garlic roach

That speaks It wouldn't it wouldn't have been

so bad if it hadn't been sentient and then it

goes Close the door. It's cold. Yeah, I have

to lower my kin Jeremy score just because of

that Oh boy, that's... Can D -Roo error me? No.

No, no, no. So here we are, just the two of us,

at a stalemate, each looking for something to

turn the tide. But what will it be? Cupcakes?

Whoop! Ha ha! Watch this! Prepare to face the

wrath of Norman Schmitz! Hee hee hee! You can't

get away from me now! Don't you mean us? Hey!

Don't step on my moment! Um... No. No. Oh, um...

John Bon Jovi reference. Huh? Platypi are slippery

when wet. Oh, yes, that's true. Yeah, yeah. I

want to put that in the wiki right now. Oh, lord.

Unless it's already there. I'm not that clever.

Somebody thought of that. So one good thing about

the Combinator is we get your favorite character,

Norman Schmertz. Norman Schmertz. I do like Norm.

He just came right out of the left field of this

one though, didn't he? Yeah, he did. It's just

like I'm an afterthought. Yep. It's like he called

a shot and he's like it's going that way It's

going that way folks. I'm an afterthought I Think

he plays more Yeah, a bigger role. Let's say

later on in the season or maybe next season.

Yeah Looking forward to that. I like that character.

Yeah norm rules so Basically the main plot of

Kandermi is that she needs to spend more time

with Stacey, less time with Jeremy, but they

get put together with the combinator. I do like

that Candice actually tries to hide the fact

that she's attached at the hip to Jeremy. Attached

at the pants. Yes. And then, uh, you know, at

the very end, when they do get separated... Candice?

Jeremy! I know this is a weird question, but

do you have any idea how I got here? Jeremy,

don't worry. I promise I'll explain everything

later. But right now, you gotta get out of here.

I'll call you later. I mean, tomorrow. By the

way, the best part was when you used him as a

table. Busted! Stacy's like... Busted The best

part was when you used them as a table She had

a lot of interesting disguises for him and and

they just kind of flew by PowerPoint style, you

know during the song. Yeah And you know, I I

don't remember what the song was. What was the

song? What was the song? I usually write the

song down. I'm like, oh, that's the song. Yeah,

you're supposed to be doing this kind of stuff,

man. You know, sometimes they jump out at me,

and sometimes it's like, oh, god, just be over

with. Oh, the song was Moan. Yeah, do the moan.

Oh, it's just the two of us. That's the song

that was playing while she was doing the montage.

Yep. When you got a lot of things to get through

the show, it's a montage. It's too bad they couldn't

use Dr. Evil and Mini -Me, or, you know, bring

Will Smith in for a guest cameo for just the

two of us. Just saying. There's not a lot of

meth in these episodes, folks. Meth! Meth! That's

what I live for Lots of running gags and this

one are we are we are we doing a great indoors?

Are we still on candor? I mean either one doesn't

matter great indoors is fine All right, um, I

Like this like the Candice never actually gets

to hear what Jeremy likes about her Yeah, they

go through the entire episode and he just keeps

getting interrupted Yep, and they you know, they

actually go through the another song, you know

where They're basically going through the the

rainforest on a whirlwind tour of the biosphere

and every time he's like Well, this is what I

like about you it and then yeah something else

happens and she never hears and even at the very

end I kept thinking he's gonna tell her he's

gonna tell her and no, no, he doesn't get see

It's just unfortunate, you know, I kind of wish

she heard Yeah, I'm poor Addison man Addison

the fireside girl. Yeah She got dazed Yeah, she

got dazed and confused a lot Well, is she does

she get the you know the badge for these cuz

everyone else got a concussion badge. Yeah, I

assume she would yeah, you know everyone else

got the You know consuming psychedelic frog badges.

I don't think she did because she actually licked

the frog. So I bet you're wondering why did I

cause all this rain. You see, while perusing

local garage sales, I came upon a big screen

TV from 1985. But when I went to turn it on,

it was stuck on the Spanish channel. All it played

was crazy variety shows and Mexican soap operas.

I really got hooked on one of them from El Matador

de Amor. It has three simultaneous storylines

that interconnect. Genius! Anyway, the last episode

was a cliffhanger in which Esmeralda is going

to find out why Juan loves her. At least I think

that's what's going to happen, but the show got

preempted by a soccer game! Oh, I hate soccer!

It makes no sense whatsoever! The clock runs

up instead of counting down? What is that?! So

with the help of my Raininator, I -I've rained

the game out! And now, back to our regularly

scheduled programming. In ten minutes, the show's

gonna start, and if you trap the Raininator at

work, nothing will interrupt me! Hey, less pounding

back there, okay? I mean, you're lucky I sprang

for the clear tube. This way, you can watch,

too. And, uh, at the end, curse you, Perry the

Platypus, isn't Spanish. Yes. Man, this is gonna

cost... Could not understand half the episode.

Man, this is gonna cost me a fortune on my water

bill. He's got this huge shower. It's like a

shower, it's like a pipe that goes way up into

the sky and there's a shower head in the sky

and he's like, I can't believe nobody noticed

that. Yeah. And then at the end, the shower head

turns into a golf club and basically putts the

biosphere golf ball away. That's the golf ball.

It's like a - What the hell? Thing at the Epcot

Center called, it's called the Starship, Spaceship

Earth? I guess, I don't know. It looks like one

of those. You know, you keep thinking someone's

gonna hit it with a driver, with a nine iron,

put it into the Gulf. Well, I mean, you ever

been to Disney World? Yeah, several times in

my life. It's been a few years, though. That's

what it looks like, you know? Anyway, what did

you not like about it? Oh, let's see. It's a

huge list. No, sadly it's not. Because originally

I thought the garlic ice cream thing was in Great

Indoors. It's not, it's in Candaramy. They all

blur together after a while. Yeah, they kind

of do. And the sad thing is we've only watched

four actual cartoons so far in season three.

And we're off to a really great start on this

revival of this podcast, folks. Where are the

good ones? Come on. Oh, the salamanders are back.

I think I created a new species of blah. Comes

to water. I like the idea of the great indoors.

I like the idea of the biosphere. I like the

idea of every time Isabella says, oh, we need

this, and then Phineas just hits a button and

it immediately sets up a rainforest or sets up

this or sets up that. And then Jeremy and Candice

have to deal with whatever happens. Candice gets

so mad when the giant rock almost hits her in

the head and she's like, oh, come on! Jeremy's

like, Candice, it's just paper mache. He picks

up the giant boulder. It's kind of half expecting

a holodeck, you know, because it's basically

mimicking the technology. Yes, but this is Disney

and they don't own Star Trek yet. Give it a couple

years. Yeah, 2025 Disney buys Viacom Viacom CBS.

Hey and that way it won't have to be called Disney

all -access. It'll just be Disney Plus like it

is now There you go. Put all the shows that are

on CBS all -access on Disney Plus. There we go

So I think HBO Max bought Oh No, no, no, wait.

No, no, no, I see channel. Yeah, CBS is still

going strong. Yeah for now. Yes This is the way

I have spoken When's Nick Nolte coming back?

He's not he's dead. Oh he down. That's right.

Damn it spoilers. Wait a minute you Now see this

is what I said last week and this is what I'll

probably be saying next week It was the thing

that I created for you anyway Anyway This anything

you didn't like about either one of these You

know honestly I great indoors wasn't my favorite

Too much for you. I mentioned that yeah, I gotta

learn how to speak Spanish. I really do I find

it fascinating. I just I can count to 12 in Spanish

and that's about it That's about as high as my

Spanish class thing went in in elementary school

after that. I'm like Nope, not even gonna try.

Not even gonna try, yeah. Um, Cam Daramy was,

you know, a little better. Uh, I -I liked the

psych gags. I liked, um... Uh, I like, you know,

I like Stacy as a character. I like when they

include her. Yeah. Um... Think it was I think

when things started to break down a little bit

is when You know the the giant robot dog grabbed

the uncombinator and then ran around with it.

Yeah I'm like, you know, they probably could

have cut this and and had better recurring jokes

or something. Yeah But my favorite word in this

episode is gerobotomy It's like, oh man, I gotta,

I gotta schedule a gerobotomy. Yeah. I'd rather

have a bottle in front of me than they have to

have a frontal gerobotomy. Oh God, that's bad.

That's bad. I was going to try to work that around

to be autobotly or decepticonish, but I can't

even work that in there. Well, I mean, it's just,

it's a gerolobotomy. It's a gerobotomy, you know,

to have your geria, geria, geria removed. Well,

if you have your geria removed, you got to take

out your George and your Kramer and your and

your Elaine and, you know, George's dad and,

you know, Serenity now! Insanity later. It's

a surgery about nothing. We haven't recorded

with each other in three years, folks, and that

might be the funniest thing I've heard him say

in three years. It's a surgery about nothing.

But that's all I got. I mean, street fair days.

I mean, you know, I didn't realize that was such

a big thing. Well, they're trying to spend time

together and that kind of thing so I guess the

street fair is one of their things and obviously

it's a summer thing because You know street fairs

and whatever Little winter over here Even though

we're recording this on Christmas make it or

something. I don't know Dangerously close to

Thanksgiving. Yes And I say dangerous because

if you celebrate Thanksgiving you you could die.

Yep, pretty much Gatherings of ten or more people

in your home will kill you. Welcome to 2020.

That's right And this is not a funny thing at

all and I'm By doing this show. I'm hoping to

bring some positivity to people I hope half the

crap that's in this episode in the last episode

that people laughed at us, but Man All those

deaths on his neglect, oh god. If you don't laugh,

then you're gonna cry and you can't cry that

much. You'd end up having like a, I was gonna

work in a... Raininator joke? A jungle rainfall

raininator joke there, but I'm sorry, that's

beyond even my capabilities. I am so sorry. What

would you rate The Great Indoors 0 to 5? Didn't

I give that one a 2 already? Did you? I don't

know. I may have. That would have been like 15

minutes ago. I forgot already. Have we really

been doing this episode for 15 minutes? Oh god,

I'll give it a 3. It was like, I like the ideas

around it. I just don't think the execution was

that great. I don't know. Right in nature. Yes,

what about Ken Jeremy? I like that one better.

I'd probably give it a four. Yeah, I'm gonna

give it a three and a half and the only reason

why it gets a three and a half is garlic roach

ice cream. I nearly lost my dinner when I watched

that. Triple scoop garlic roach gum. No, no.

It's so wiggly and it's like, hey, how you doing?

Stop it! Yeah, how it became sentient is beyond

me. I'm sorry. Freedom is not the right of all

sentient beings. You know that that triple scoop

garlic roach cone was delicious, but I think

I got a little, I got a little something in my

teeth, is that a way? I can't even amuse because

oh my god, I'm gonna be sick just you saying

that stuff. Alright, we're gonna take a quick

break. We'll be back after this. Hi, I'm Terry
