Transformers SDCC 2022 News and Figure Reveals

on this adventure to the Transformers fandom

is TFG1 Mike. Hello. Hello. Hello. Ladies and

gentlemen, this most likely, unless we do the

comic next week, this will most likely be the

last week in July. In July. for all things Transformers,

because SDCC will grow there. As we're recording

this, we are recording this on quote unquote

preview night, Thursday night, the first night

of San Diego Comic Con 2022. We've got a bunch

of news to get through and some of these stories,

I'm not even gonna like some of them are mention

it and move on kind of things. One of them, I'm

kind of like, you know, I've said this before,

oh if it's not Funko, blah blah blah. If it's

not Funko, it's not fun. No. Ha ha ha ha funny

guy. I thought so. Yeah, right. You're not you're

on the other show. You're not on this show. Get

out of here you joke of a bot. Anyway, I am kind

of really digging what 3 -0 is doing with their

Transformers MDLX. Figures, these are basically

like mini statues. They're just, you know, they're

not transformable, but they're poseable. And

the latest one that they have coming out is MDLX

Bumblebee Gold Edition Revealed. Shiny metallic

gold redeco of the original MDX Bumblebee action

figure. It's limited edition of, oh, of 2000

units. Damn it. This collectible figure is approximately

five inches tall and the only reason why I love

this is because all as I see is Because he comes

with a bunch of stuff. He comes with He comes

with four hand replacements besides the two he

already has on a Gun and he comes with a second

head and the second head is a gold bug face mask

Hmm and it reminds me of when bumblebee got injured

in rebirth and you know We have that whole line

and I know Dan Gilvazan does not like this line

But I just I love the humor of it and I'll insert

it around here, but Just that that whole even

though this is based off the bumblebee movie

figure It just with that faceplate man. It just

screams g1 gold bug to me, and I absolutely dig

it I don't know if I'll ever get it, but I dig

it. Yeah I mean, I'm not a huge fan of the movie

verse type look This this almost I'm trying to

place it, but I think it kind of gives me the

vibe of the High Moon studio war for Cybertron

Yeah, like that aesthetic like I don't mind that

like kind of Crusty metal look that they they

have in it it honestly it it kind of looks interesting

enough to To kind of pay attention to it. Like

I like Let me put it this way. I hate the Michael

Bay verse of figures because you can't tell who

they are There's no there's no aesthetic, you

know, at least this has a nice blending of the

classic look with some of that Yeah, you know

like the bumblebee movie did yeah and and it

has kind of that war for Cybertron look and Honestly,

like I can get behind this like I mean it he

has his gold bug and his bumblebee face and Just

it kind of looks neat two faces one bot who face

up next Uh, so we did have a story where TFW

2005, and I'm sure every other Transformers new

site basically did like a breakdown of what's

going to happen and what's what Hasbro is going

to bring to SDCCC or SD whatever. SDCC. Whatever.

Same thing. That place that they always talk

about comics. Yes. Really, right? I know. Uh,

so the brands that Hasbro. is has at the show

now as as we're recording this transformers there's

going to be the transformers product panel thursday

which already happened which we will talk about

later in the show the first and i'm only bringing

this up because i'm just going down this list

we're finally gonna for the all of you dungeons

and dragons fans the first ever dungeons and

dragons toy line how dungeons and dragons has

not had a toy line until now is beyond me it's

had one Okay, well it was based on the cartoon

from the 90s, but yeah, I mean I remember seeing

those yeah See and I assume this is the press

release Hasbro sent to TFW, this can't be somebody

this would be like me copy and pasting it onto

our website. It says Dungeons and Dragons Hasbro

is bringing the leading cosplaying game D &D

to life at San Diego Comic Con with the premiere

of the franchise's first ever toy line. Oh, you

know what? I got it confused for a different

toy line. OK, well, there you go. So they're

correct. I just want I'm like, wait a minute.

There's also gonna be mad at Matt magic the gathering

there nerf GI Joe Power Rangers dragons has had

toys through NECA. So I don't know true, but

Maybe this is the first Hasbro in -house. That's

probably what it is. I don't know Whatever was

I know GI Joe nerf Power Rangers Star Wars and

Marvel and then I'm excited because we're getting

a sergeant slaughter Yes, yes we are. I saw that.

I think I shared that on Instagram. Well, Sergeant

Slaughter follows me on Twitter. Haha, nice!

And I, don't get me wrong, I'm like, out of,

out of like the, the G .I. Joe movie, that was

one of my favorite characters on the Joe side.

I just, I love how he talks and he's, he's got

a gruff and, you know, just, I don't know, I

just, I love the character. Yeah. As I was, was

pulling a pizza out of the oven. Proceed on schedule,

doughboy. Up two, up two, double time. Meanwhile,

I'll check this baby out. See how she works.

What's that? An identified object on the left

flank! Intercept and destroy! It's it's enough

that I'm tempted to pick that one GI Joe figure

up Yeah, who knows, whenever it does release,

maybe you'll get it for your birthday next year.

I don't know. Up next, speaking of things we

don't like, or at least that you don't like,

and I'm okay, look. What is it, Marvel? No, it's

been 15 years. The movies are what they are.

Yes, the designs are blah blah blah. But even

though this is going to be an Amazon exclusive,

I love that we are getting studio series. Movie

07 15th anniversary multi -pack. This is cool.

So it's got Ironhide, Optimus, Bumblebee. Who

else is in this pack? Don't get me wrong. I like

the fact that they're doing some of these bundles,

however, for a poor man like me and somebody

that doesn't want every character. It does nothing

for me. I mean, I didn't even pick up any of

the Beast Wars related ones that have come out.

Granted, none of them were like the main character

designs, like they were all alternate paint jobs.

Yeah, or alternate heads. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean,

I guess if they would have come like this and

had the official original versions, I probably

would have done it. Although looking at these

images, some of the design work looks inferior

to original figures that came out. Yeah. See,

that's the thing. They look very cheap. This

five pack consists of re -releases, apparently

with a few deco changes, of Studio Series Voyager

SS32 Optimus, SS14 Ironhide, and Deluxe SS04

Ratchet, SS09 Jazz, and SS49 Bumblebee with a

maskless head. So this is basically them putting

old figures into a five pack and saying, hey,

Amazon, here's your next exclusive. What's sad

about it is like I'm not enticed about it I mean

I think it's cool for those that haven't gotten

it and they want this special box set and they

just plan on putting them on display but They

do look very cheap compared to the original toys

that came out the I did own at one time one movie

film toy And that was bumblebee because I liked

the Camaro and I worked at a Chevy dealership,

but yep But I ended up getting rid of it because

honestly like just like the alternators line

I didn't care for the aesthetics and so I and

it was too bloody hard to transform so I just

I dumped them So yeah, yeah, I'm not like I want

has wrote like I understood but this way This

is the original studio series figures from a

couple years ago or from last year whenever it

was and they're just I don't know it is what

it is but up next briefly and I'm only mentioning

this because I Really even if I was collecting

the toys, I would only get it for the inbox image

I would not never take it out of the box But

Hasbro is doing their next crossover. It's Hasbro

X Tonka the Tonka nater And it is six of the

Tonka construction vehicles that basically are

the Constructicons, except they're painted in

Tonka black, yellow, and red. But the packaging,

it's basically the Devastator gift set. I'm like,

this is great. If I want to spend this money

on something that I'm gonna leave in a box, this

is awesome. And they're Autobots too. Yeah, that's

what I'm saying. And it's a re -release of the

actual original molds. Yeah. It's so yeah, it

is very very cool. I love how they recolored

and redid everything to turn them into Autobots

like You you know, that's that's really really

cool absolutely Up next are two funko stories

that one I like and one I dislike I'll talk about

the one I like What I'm just laughing. Sorry

What are you laughing at the funko stop it center

myself alright so funko has one story i like

in one story that i just. I can't go down that

road with them so the story i like is that they

have a collaboration with hallmark they've been

doing this with other characters and other things.

But they have Funko Pop ornaments. So they're

basically Christmas ornaments for your Christmas

tree. And Optimus Prime is going to be a Christmas

ornament for your Christmas tree this holiday

season. What I do like about this, just off the

top of my thoughts here, is the design of the

body underneath them, because it's the original

G1 figure. Yeah, that's the thing. When Hasbro

gave Funko the license, if you look at any of

the currently released Funko Pops, It is all

toy design. And I'm perfectly fine with that,

as long as I have the char - like, as long as

I have the character, I'm perfectly fine with

my Funko Pop toys being the original toy design

from 40 years ago. And then there's the thing

that I don't like. I have to agree with you here.

I would sooner get the ornament before I'd get

this. They're not doing it with just - Optimus

prime though it's not it like i've seen other

ones like. This is ridiculous so this guy's costumes

is crossing over with fun with fun oh god i almost

threw up my mouth saying funko that's never happened

before with funko to bring us an optimus prime

masks. Optimus prime mask i can't i'm so. Flames

on the side of my face. I'm so upset about this

and this is so stupid for me to be upset about

I know It flame flames flames on the side of

my face have shared out new oversized mask for

your future Tom Fuller II the piece has Optimus

Prime and his Funko pop vinyl aesthetic But large

enough to pop on your head and be able to peek

out through his eyes It's due to be a Walmart

exclusive. So expect it to show up during Walmart

collector con Later this week now this story

was posted on July 18th And I believe along with

SDCC. We are also in the midst of Walmart collector

con but this thing is just like It's it's so

it's so stinking ugly like especially when we

have the option For like a hundred and I think

it's like 120 bucks. You can get the actual optimus

prime like helmet From like I think it's GameStop

or something. Yeah Yeah, why would you why would

you want a Funko? I mean like if you're gonna

get a helmet like literally like if you're getting

a costume and a helmet you're you're not and

maybe I'm just Stuck in my ways, but I'm not

trying to look as like goofy and retarded as

I can with the the design Yeah, like if I'm gonna

wear it I'm gonna get the official look, you

know Like I would love to get my hands on a Beast

Wars Megatron helmet, but that's just not Something

i can afford. Yeah i you know what here's the

thing funko has their fingers and every piece

of the pie not just pops not just what they normally

do but they've got. Stuff in everything they

one of the biggest stories that we need to talk

about it's not listed anywhere in the show notes

or anything else but they bought mondo. The poster

and the mondo the poster company. so they now

own Mondo. So, but the thing with this mask is

does seven -year -old me who used to wear a crappy

Batman Halloween mask in 1987 think this is kind

of cool? Not really because like you've already

said my mom or anyone else could make me a better

mask and I guess maybe this is Funko's way to

appeal to the kids but honestly What self -respecting

parent even if the parent is a fan of funko would

buy this for their children because it's just

ugly. Yep i would not i would not there's no

way so even though we are in the middle of san

diego or at the beginning of at san diego comic

con twenty twenty two. Post con twenty twenty

two is coming back finally after god knows how

long. Confirmed by the Pulse website and Instagram

that PulseCon will be September 30th and October

1st, 2022. So that's when PulseCon will be. And

then we got one of your stories that you like.

Beast Wars retracts and tariffs or reissues official

stock images and product descriptions. Well,

this is the thing that sucks on that. They have

that, however, why would they come out with retracks

of all the characters? Like it's basically a

non -transformer. Like the guy, like you literally

flip him on his stomach. His horns point out

his arms stay folded under and his legs fold

in like there's literally no point to that toy.

And I remember it being a shelf warmer back when

I was a kid like it just it it was always there.

And then terror sore the funny part is is my

brother had that figure. But why would you spend

twenty five dollars on a reissue of that tiny

freaking terror sore yeah when they're selling

in the bumblebee. like the Bumblebee line at

Target. Mm -hmm. The... Show accurate, yeah.

Well, no, it's not show accurate. It's the same

paint job as this one. Oh, OK, it's OK. The exact

same paint job, but it's the the Golden Disk

Terror -Saur, but with this paint job. And it's

the same price. You can get a fully articulated

modern Terror -Saur that... for all intents and

purposes looks like the character for the same

price. Why would I spend 25 bucks on a $5 toy?

Yeah. The only thing I can hope is that these

get discounted just like the rat traps did and

just like the rest of them. And then it makes

it affordable for some kid to buy it for $10.

Yeah, like I I hate saying that because but the

other thing that bothers me is is when it comes

to these reissues Like yeah, you can get them

through pulse And then eventually you'll get

them on on like Amazon and BBTS and things like

that The thing that kills me about these reissues

is is Walmart controls them. The unfortunate

part with that is is Walmart controls them And

and I say that because I was in a Walmart almost

three four weeks ago and I saw a Beast Wars Megatron

like the ultra figure the reissue and it said

online that they didn't have it in inventory

and Clearly they did because I saw it it was

on the shelf and it was 40 bucks they'd already

discounted it from the 50 some odd dollars that

this $20 toy was being sold for and What killed

me about it was they We're selling it for $11

.97 on their website. But I didn't want to pay

the $8 shipping, which would have made it $20

anyway. Wow, that's... But the thing is, some

stores will price match you. I got a picture

of some guy on one of the Beast Wars groups on

Facebook that got Optimus Primal. It was on clearance

for $40 on the shelf. and it was on sale on the

website for like $21 and he walked out with paying

$21. I said, man, I would have picked one up

for that just because it would have been the

same price I paid 25 years ago. The thing that

drives me nuts about it is I would have bought

the Megatron for $11 .97. I would have walked

out of the store. If they would have given it

to me for $18, I would have walked out of the

store with it. But I didn't want to spend $40.

And so I went through and talked to the person

when I scanned it and it came up $40. And I said,

all right, well, I have it clearly here on your

app for $11 .97. It says, fulfilled by Walmart.

It doesn't say fulfilled by a third party. It

doesn't say, like, TF source, or it doesn't say,

like, toy whiz or some of those other websites.

It was literally Walmart and the guy tried to

jerk me around saying that, oh, we don't fulfill

from other online distributors. I says, no, it's

from you guys. It's literally from Walmart and

the guy wouldn't do it. I ended up after 10 minutes

arguing with him and showing him that I could

order it through the app and it said that it

wasn't in store and I clearly had it in my hand.

But that their whole system is just backwards

and goofy. I Ended up leaving and not buying

it. Well, then like two weeks later. I see it

in the clearance aisle for Still 40 bucks. It's

gone now She's so I'm a little a little perturbed

about it, but honestly, it's it's not that big

of a loss I have the kingdom Megatron and it's

honestly a beggar better figure anyway, but I

could transform the other one of my sleep I've

not once tried to transform this one But just

drive me nuts that they wouldn't price match

their own website, but they've always been terrible

like that. Roundabout way of saying, I don't

like the fact that Walmart has these vintage

figures because they have a goofy system and

how some will let you use their website and other

ones are like, no, we ain't doing it. Whereas

I walk into Target earlier this week and 50 %

of their their toy aisle like their toy department

is like 70 % off so they can get it out of the

store Well, yeah, because this is the end of

July and we are you know deadly that they've

got they've still got the Batman toy figures

in the in the aisle like flooded like they filled

that aisle like they they encroached on the Transformers

end of it taking up space from stuff that they

hadn't restocked because it just sells out and

The Batman stuff is still sitting there and they've

got it 70 % off so they can move it and the Marvel

stuff the Thor Love and thunder or whatever it

is. Mm -hmm same problem They're dumping it for

his for 50 to 70 % off like they're trying to

get all of this stuff out of the store like something

terrible because they can't move it and Yeah,

I'm I'm just laughing because they're they're

willing to purge their clearance stuff and Walmart's

like, yeah suck a big one. We're not gonna do

it Yeah, so Briefly because you mentioned the

Batman and then we'll move on to the next story.

I Logged on to eBay for the first time in a couple

months Anyhow, most websites are, though, like,

oh, you looked at this item, here's something

that you might like and is related to your interests.

Funco does pop rides, so I have the Knight Rider

one where it's a little Michael Knight stuck

in the car and it's basically the kid car. Well,

they've done this with Batman and with other

things, and for the Batman, they did this with

Batman in Batmobile. Out of all the list, like,

Literally the Funko app lists this figure's value

at like $28. It's probably MSRP because it's

a pop ride. It's probably MSRP at somewhere between

30 and 40. Some, the only idiot on eBay that

I've found is trying to sell, and this is a figure

you can get anywhere. I could stick my leg out

in the middle of the highway and a Funko pop

Batman in Batmobile would just jump up my leg.

Like this is not an sdcc exclusive it's not limited

to x number of pieces some moron is trying to

sell this on ebay for two hundred dollars and

apparently there are two available which i never

saw before i'm actually i'm like are you kidding

like i could see if it was like limited to a

thousand pieces that was made ten years ago but

it's a brand new essentially general release

figure anyway moving on I'll send you comic con

twenty twenty two also for preview night had

the hasbro booth. Along with nickelodeon we have

transformers earth spark promotional banner.

So they showed the banner off and i know nickelodeon

at their panel are gonna be doing a voice they've

got some of the voice actors there and they've

got the show runners and stuff there and i think

they're gonna get to see what this. Paramount

plus exclusive Nickelodeon show is going to be

but I have not seen video show up yet You think

anyone's ever been down here before Somebody

had to leave that No way! You're a Transformer!

I have a new mission. Train our youngest members.

Transforming is easy. It's literally our name.

The first of Cybertronica to be part of our world.

And this one. I can think of no better human

protectors than you and your family. Optimus

always sees the bright side, even when there

isn't one. Arachnodex, tear them limb from limb!

until you're safe. Transformers Earthspar. Stream

with your family this fall. Exclusively on Paramount

Plus. I'm kind of interested. It says it's going

to stream on Paramount Plus in fall of 2022,

so I'm kind of interested to see what they do

with this. I mean, I'm interested to see just

because anytime they come out with a new Transformers,

I just want to see what they do. I give them

the benefit of the doubt to begin with, regardless.

Paramount Plus, I will give them a leg up though.

They produce, and this looks like the same team

that does Star Trek Prodigy. I see a lot of the

same visual cues. That show, it's CGI, and it's

a little different, but it's not like RID different.

So it's not as jarring visually. It's more of

a CG 3D type thing. I'll give them the benefit

of the doubt because Paramount does employ decent

writers that are at least familiar with the franchises.

And I say that because Prodigy, from the recent

era of Star Trek films, or not films, television

series, I was not a fan of any of them. And Prodigy

was one of the first, I was like, okay, I can

get behind this because it's really good storytelling,

it's good voice acting, it's good... Visually

like there there was very little to nitpick about

Lower decks was more, you know, I'm not a fan

of the visuals I'm not a fan of like the hundred

percent of the comedy, but overall it's not terrible.

Yeah, and and strange new worlds is awesome.

So I As far as prodigy like that kind of gives

me a little bit of hope with earth earth spark

because clearly Netflix doesn't know what the

heck they're doing when it comes to animation

because they keep purging animation stuff left

and right. So I'm all in for Paramount doing

this and Nickelodeon because at least the two

of them understand animation. Yep. And folks,

like I said, it's going to be interesting to

see what happens with this. And I cannot wait

to see a full... I think we've seen a teaser

or something, but we haven't seen much of EarthSpark.

Maybe it was just those original banners from

a couple months ago or something or other, but

I'm very excited to see a teaser trailer or some

sort of footage from the show to just give me

a hint of what it's going to be like. Also at

San Diego Comic -Con 2022, kind of like we're

doing this in real time, folks. It's kind of

like how I used to do convention episodes years

ago. We've got 3 -0, DLX, The Last Knight, Optimus

Prime, and Prime 1 Studios Transmetal 2 Dragon

Megatron statues. Like you, I'm not a fan of

movie Optimus Prime and statue mode. Unlike you,

I am probably if I had the extra cash to do it

and I wanted to be able to get it. I am probably

more likely to buy this dragon Megatron statue

than what we will talk about after this. Because

number one, this thing just looks awesome. He

just looks like he's lounging over a barbecue

pit, because apparently it's barbecue spider

dogs tonight. And then... I know you don't. I

don't think, Mom. You don't like to see Megatron

sad, do you? You prefer him when he's more...

Happy and light. Yeah. Yeah, so yeah, but I like

him when he's got the angry face to true and

the face on this statue I absolutely love it

because it's like he doesn't even know tarantulas

is under him It's like he's it's almost like

he's either asleep or he's just resigned to knowing

he is crushed tarantulas under his flame foot

This thing looks amazing And some of the dragon

bits on this, that dragon head on his, one of

his wings, wow. Just wow. So good. Man, that

statue is amazing. Very, very cool. And up next

we have the rundown of what so far as of this

recording has happened and revealed at the Hasbro.

preview night reveal panel and let's just face

it folks the biggest thing to come out of this

is leader class so take it away mr. Megatron

sir well finally we get a new figure for me yeah

so there's there's quite a few different figures

in this this lineup for for legacy and this is

like I think it's wave three and four that they

revealed here It's like point blank with you

know, it's which is blank. They have they have

a multitude of other Other characters. Yeah crankcase

a point blank. They've dead end and then They

have they have Orion packs, which is a retool

of cup Yeah, they have a Alpha try on which is

a retool of scourge. Yeah, we're gonna talk about

that last But yeah, and then they then they have

you know, they have inferno They have skull grands

inferno. I will say I am very enthused for because

They finally give my boy like his actual face

And and his hands like no, I he give they give

him hands that he can hold one of the five millimeter

pegs in his hand For once which is nice because

the original figure just had a plug Yeah on him

and he didn't have three fingers. He just had

two this has three fingers clearly I'm not a

huge fan of the fingers the way they're designed

like I would have thought maybe they'd be extended

a little bit but Ultimately, like I like the

details that are pumped into this figure. I like

the I love the head sculpt love the head sculpt

and the majority of it like I'm Part of the chest

not popping apart. I wonder if it's just missed

transformation because it it's clearly got a

split So i'm wondering if that's the case or

if it's like the waspinator that they made either

way i'm i'm happy for this new inferno I I know

that some people are complaining because I know

his legs kind of fold up into his his thorax

in the back and He's missing one of the propeller

pieces For his jet mode and I know the jet thing

kind of sits on top of him in beast mode And

I think it plugs into the back even though we've

never seen a rear shot of this figure but They

still didn't give him his iconic gun But overall,

I'm pretty happy with this and for somebody that

doesn't have the original inferno anymore It

makes it very affordable for someone to get it

and it doesn't look like I'm gonna have to do

much with the paint deco Yeah Because and I found

that to be very very seldom in the case of of

Kingdom or legacy that I've had to not touch

up something Tigatron I think is the only one

and Megatron because I bought the the toy hacks

for him, but Megatron and in Tigatron were the

only ones I didn't have to touch up from the

legacy line or the Kingdom line. And Tarantulas

doesn't look like it's going to be anything I

have touch up either. So I'm at least thankful

for that. But kind of moving on from Inferno,

who you can open and close his mouth, which is

spectacular. So you can do him in crazy mode

or sane mode. You get Transmetal 2 Megatron.

Yep. And I have some thoughts on it. I was pulling

it up earlier because I saw the rough photos

that started leaking When I was sitting here

with my kids and they bought something on eBay

And and I was like, oh they're coming out and

I was like, oh it looks great And then I was

like something's off something's wrong Yeah,

and I couldn't I couldn't place it right away

and I knew it was something to do with the face

so I'll get to that in a second, but Comparing

it to the original toy Just not comparing it

to the masterpiece Jang JX winged dragon that

I used to have in my collection, which some people

are like, you're stupid for dumping it because

like they don't make it anymore. I dumped it

for multiple reasons. One of them was it was

such it was the most expensive figure in my collection.

And I was trying to liquidate to pay for some

of the other ones. But the other reason was he

was so. Insanely large Between the fact that

he was tall like he would have he'd easily dwarf

over everything in my collection But the stinking

wings made it impossible to store that thing

Yeah, because they were so big and I So I dumped

it and the other thing was the face bothered

me on it Like something just always looked off

when I looked at it. So I always had buyer's

remorse looking at him looking at the original

Transmetal 2 Megatron that came out from the

90s I remember going to Walmart one night and

paying $20 for that figure and I loved it because

it had the wing gimmick where it could you know

kind of flap the wings you could fold them back

you fold them sideways like you could kind of

you know do whatever with them the the neck you

could do all kinds of motion stuff with it and

it would it would actually stay in place you

could shoot from the mouth you could shoot from

over the head it overall was a pretty decent

figure i didn't have very many issues with it

other than the fact it wasn't so accurate so

that's ultimately why i dumped that one looking

at this figure and i've i've had a few minutes

to kind of stare at it and collect my thoughts

there are some things on it i would paint For

sure, because some of it looks like the gold.

I would probably touch up because it looks kind

of chintzy and I realize it's a promotional shot,

so it's probably not what it's going to look

like. The claws, I love the aspect that it actually

incorporates into robot mode from the beast mode

because it gives it a reason to be there in the

first place. I might have to shave them down

because they're a little chunky for the chest.

But I like how they they incorporated all of

the like for the most part. This is probably

the most screen accurate Transmetal 2 Megatron

we've gotten. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, there there

are a few gripes with it I mean, obviously a

few paint decos missing. I Love the I love the

beast mode shots That we've gotten. Mm -hmm.

I love how they've kind of blended some of that

purple in there with the red To kind of give

it the same aesthetic. They've tried to use kind

of a goldish hued color to replace the rubber

that used to be on it mm -hmm and And to kind

of give it that transmetally look and they added

some it looks like almost like a glittery type

paint Yeah into the red because obviously the

original figure As did all of the transmetals

had that vacuum And the vacuum metal, yeah. Yeah,

but it always peeled. Yep. And that was a big

issue. And don't get me wrong, I would love nothing

more than to see that reappear in some of these,

even though the original toy only had it in select

places, like on part of the wings, part of the

head. And then it really wasn't anywhere else.

Yeah. But I mean, I definitely see repainting

this figure to some degree to make it more screen

accurate. But for the most part, I love the design

of the arms. They're more screen accurate in

the shape the chest is. The legs, even the mismatched

knees, they manage to capture. And he has the

ankle tilt joints, which the original I don't

think had. And so I mean, overall, this is...

Spectacular figure and I'm not dumping on them

in any way right the the wings You can clearly

tell they try to add some kind of a glow effect

to it with like more of a translucent color I'm

not entirely sure if I want to repaint that or

not just kind of depends but the probably the

most glaring issue I have with this over the

the minimal repaints that I'm gonna do to it

is the face it is in no way I've been comparing

I've been comparing shots to the the winged dragon

Where it's a little bit better blended paints

like metallic colors and I'll probably put a

more metallic paint job on him when I get them

Because it's still too red like it's too red.

It's almost like a dark red burgundy that goes

his head sculpt is horrible and I say that with

the utmost love because I like the character

a lot, but his head sculpt is terrible. There's

no way that this figure looks accurate in the

face. They're trying to homage too much. Instead

of the straight teeth, he's got the pointy teeth.

His face is silver. Instead of that like kind

of charcoal metallic black. Mm -hmm. The eyes

are even kind of goofy looking I mean, they're

like a pinkish purple not like the kind of reddish

purple that normally has The the three, you know

how he has that kind of triple. I Don't know

how to describe it, but it's between the little

kind of pointing horns that are on his cheeks.

Mm -hmm How he has the there's three of them

there. Well, they have some kind of a weird box

with gold in it instead It's this is one of those

things that I'm thankful for the Era that we

live in with 3d printers and customizers because

this is one of those things that I guarantee

people are going to print their own head for

They're going to make a new head for it and when

they do I will be first in line to purchase it

But the rest of the figure I will give it I will

give the rest of the figure like a nine out of

ten for the close the closeness and the attempts

and The level of detail I am very very excited

for this figure and Glad that and the other thing

that will be nice is because I have the trans

art transmittal Megatron or optimal optimus Transmittal

to Megatron is supposed to be technically smaller

than optimal Yeah, so he actually will be smaller

than optimal by a short amount. There you go

So it'll be in scale Yay for scale. Yeah, but

anyways, yeah, this is probably the most excited

thing I've seen that I'm interested in so Yeah

Yeah, and then briefly and the only reason why

I wanted to wait for this for the last because

it was the last news story you already talked

about how Time I said Tigatron alpha try on and

Orion packs are Redecos of Cup and Scourge. What

I wanted to talk about about this is not about

the figures themselves, because I think that's

awesome. And, you know, if you, like I've said

before, when I was talking about that, that leader,

the leader class gal, yeah, leader class kingdom

Galvatron, they got four different things out

of that mole. If you can get anything out of

your molds you put Orion Pax and Alpha Trion

but really the only thing I want to mention is

in the article somebody took an up close I guess

somebody in the front row of the panel took an

up close shot of in front of Evan the designer

where he has the box in front of him and it's

Orion Pax on the table With Alpha Trion standing

over him, kind of like, you know, Optimus Prime's

deathbed, even though this is more of Orion Pax's

reformatting kind of thing. And yeah, I just

think this is so cool. I just think that box

art is so good, so fun. Anything else you want

to bring up? No, I mean I I think those are it

I mean well there is there is the The trans art

transmetal Megatron. Mm -hmm, which is dropped.

Yep, and I am Stoked for that figure it mine

is on its way I am so excited for that to show

up. And the sad thing, the sad thing is he's

going to be bigger than by a hair, my optimal

optimus, because that's just how big they made

him. Yeah. By comparison, which don't get me

wrong, it's kind of sad that it's it's bigger

than optimal and he's supposed to not be bigger

than optimal because optimal supposed to be almost

like two -thirds of prime size Mm -hmm, but I

am I will give it that I'm I'm just happy to

see one Mm -hmm after all these years because

to get the the Hasbro one you're guaranteed that

the thing is gonna shatter Yeah in more places

than one. Yeah the other the other aspect is

there He has Well, for instance He comes with

the golden disc spinner with the shattered golden

disc Mm -hmm. He comes with two different tails,

which some people were like, yeah, that's crap.

Why is he coming with two different tails? It's

they made one bigger and I feel like they could

have solved the issue a different way than giving

two tails, but Regardless, I don't care. I am

I'm happy to see it to some degree He's got two

tails. Well, one of them's for beast mode, one's

for robot. But the nice part about the beast

mode one, and this is something I didn't realize

until I saw the promotional photos, is that they

built a storage spot inside when it latches on

to store the other faces. Of of Megatron. Oh

for It plugs right into the base of it that gets

covered up when you put them into beast mode

and and because you just you're gonna set it

aside anyway when you When you transform it because

he's got the smaller one for a robot mode, right?

Yeah, there's There's that aspect but also you

do you remember the episode and coming of fusors?

I think it's part two where He has silver bolts

like why you know about chasing the maximals

and he his dinosaur hands come up over shoulders

and turn into turrets and then he shoots him.

So they have it where you can pop off the fingers

of the beast mode and replace it with those turrets.

Oh wow. And to shoot it you know and those actually

can store inside of the tail as well. Well, that's

awesome whatever one you're not using yeah, and

so I was like, okay They've they've really thought

of everything. They've got a little key thing

too that you can kind of Tap on his head and

it turns on his robot mode head LED lights and

his eyes nice and then the same thing for beast

mode you do that to the beast mode and in it

They've created like a panel that covers the

arms where they normally hide. And honestly,

I was not expecting to be that blown away by

a figure of a retool of an old toy. And they

kind of knocked it out of the park. So I'm super

excited to be getting that. It's mine shipped

and I'll probably have it in like two weeks.

Yep, so I'll probably be doing a review on it

as soon as I get it because I'll be super excited

and I'll already know how to transform it which

is wonderful about trans metals. Yes, absolutely.
