About this Episode

The Pull Bag and The Underbase dive into the third issue of the Windblade miniseries, featuring writers Margaret Scott and artist Sarah Stone. This episode explores the shocking revelation that someone other than Starscream is behind the conspiracy on Cybertron, the intense torture sequence, and the game-changing cliffhanger involving a mysterious space bridge activation pulling power from Metroplex. The hosts debate theories about who's actually orchestrating events and praise the character development given to both Windblade and Starscream.

Hello all you podcast listeners out there in

podcast land This is TFG1 Mike from inside the

different her copy is going to be if she changes

anything I did to it But I wasn't gonna go back

and re -edit it for the purposes of the pull

bag. It is a fully edited podcast. There's nothing

wrong with it but I just want to let everybody

know that I wasn't going to edit the same show

it the first time. So here you go the third of

why cyclonus is cheating on me oh we're having

word saving i'm carrying cyclonus's baby whoa

what This is going to be juicy. Welcome to the

Underbase, where we cover comics as soon as possible.

Yeah, right. I actually like reviewing them after

they're out, because it's a lot easier to review

them after they're out. Well, Casey, as soon

as possible. We've been talking for nearly an

hour, people. I know. And you will never hear

any of it. I don't know. He says, I'm not recording,

huh? It's client podcast privilege, there you

go. It's Team Angel review crossover with Geek

Cast Radio Networks, the pull bag. Woohoo! We

have a Nicole. That'd be me. And a Heather. Booyah!

And a Mike. Hello. And me. Wow, don't be so excited,

Mike. The fearless leader. Woohoo! Amy's fearless.

I'm a fearless leader. Shall we test this? No,

absolutely not. Do not test how fearless I am.

Just believe it when I say it, okay? All right,

so Mike, you have bits that you'd like to bring

up. Um, yes, the Geekcast Radio Network is looking

for new writers. If you love video games, technology,

TV, movies, comics, or pop culture in general,

and would be interested in contributing content

to be featured on geekcastradio .com, we want

you. Please send us a few samples of your work.

You can add links to your articles, published

on other websites, about subjects defined above,

we want you. looking for new writers, new movie

reviewers, new TV show reviewers. If you do video

game written reviews, we're looking for some

new blood. Will you accept my Cyclonus fanfic?

We are an explicit network, so possibly, yeah.

Wow. That was amazingly well timed. I mean, you

know, if it has some Farrah Fawcett looking blonde

in it that's having... Are you kidding me? There's

so much of it that's fanfics with me. Okay. Oh,

so you're saying you're Farrah Fawcett and you're

having Cyclonus' baby. Okay. I could do that.

I would complain. Okay, there's something I was

so wanted to say, but I'm not gonna do it He

did leave oh man, okay No, no if you don't don't

come complaining to us cuz we told you so Okay,

so that's Mike you have anything else So let's

start this epic review of Windblade number three.

It's slightly a week late, but we're all right

with that, right? Okay, let's talk about this,

because you and I were talking about this off

-air, Amy. The reason why Windblade is a week

late, it's all BotCon's fault. No, it's not.

Oh, it's not? Yeah, when I was at BotCon, I kind

of maybe heard John overhear him say, actually

has absolutely no idea why it got... made late

because it was in on time, it was ready to print

on time, it was sent out on time. All he could

just say was, I have no idea. And all I could

think was, well, the diamond gods must have changed

their minds. Yeah, because they sounded super

upset. Well, you know, not upset, but sad that

they couldn't sell it along with RID and more

than VCI. Yeah, they were kind of up. Everybody

was sad. Bummed, very bummed. There you go, Windblade

was late and it was all the diamond gods so you

can send your complaints to them and we will

all move on. Like I said at the beginning of

the show, I'm kind of happy that it was late

considering I can actually have it in my hand

and actually look at it without an IDW seal on

the images. Yes, but I wish I could have done

this before BotCon instead of after. Before it

gets too far in. Oh yeah, I've got plenty to

do. I have been so busy. Oh my gosh. Anyhow,

bot count announcements. This is the best ever.

This is the best news ever. Guess what? Margaret

and Scott. You have been too busy. Scott and

Stone are returning. So that would be awesome

if Margaret and Scott was dating a guy named

Scott. That would be awesome. But she's not,

she's married to Jason. Jason would be like,

what's going on? Marigret and Sarah will be back.

Windblade will continue. We will see their return

summer of 2015. So thanks to all of those out

there that have supported Windblade because we've

got another series to look forward to. I'm very

happy. Yes, it was so awesome. Like, the entire

room erupted when that was announced. It was

so cool. Continues! Continues! Yay! I'm happy

that, you know, it's got such good reception.

Because this is one of those ones. It was either

going to succeed or fail miserably and I'm glad

it took the high road. That was awesome people.

If any indication this issue should totally seal

the deal. Oh, I got a question for you since

you two went to BotCon. Did you see any cosplayers

as Windblade? I didn't. I did not, but my tablemate

made two helm hats of Windblade. They were amazing.

They were awesome and one of them Mayor Grid

got, so it was cool. It was very cool. She squeed.

It was great. I didn't get to see it, but I was

told how awesome it was. I think Jason posted

a picture online of it. Nice. I remember him

posting it. Yeah, I will say this. I was at the

comic book store that's over by BotCon after

the whole show was over, and I was talking to

the guy in the shop. I was saying, you know,

I'm mostly a Transformers person, but, you know,

I'm looking for other stuff. And we were just

talking about a bunch of things. And he was saying,

you know, I don't really pay that much attention

to Transformers, but there was one that came

in recently that had a girl on the cover. And

I was like, yes, indeed, sir. But it's cool that,

like, people notice who don't even, who is not

even blipping their radar, usually. And I was

like, yeah, you go. Score. Yeah. This is good

stuff. It's making a difference. So rock on.

I mean, the two of them working together as a

team on this, it just made it absolutely amazing.

And I knew Marigold was a really excellent writer

before this. But just the combination of Scott

and Stoner is just amazing on this title. Yeah.

They can do no wrong. You know, not to jinx them

or anything. I know. I was like, Sarah, we need

you to stay working for us until your fingers

actually bleed. I say this in love. But when

she does drop blood, it gives that. That's why

it's got that nice red color, especially on this

cover. That's not ink on this cover. That's that.

That's her actual blood. Yeah. Yeah. That's the

dark side that, you know, Margaret always enters

into her company. The morbidity. All right. So

talking about covers, see what I did there. We've

got our first cover by Sarah, a wind blade crying

red streams of, yeah, like I said, like we said,

it's the morbid side, it's blood. The subscription

cover by Mr. Milne and the lovely Joanna Lafuente.

It's wind blade in a nighttime setting with Metroplex

behind her. What was that? I didn't hear anything.

Is this content not available? What? Oh, that

link that Mike put up. Oh. Oh. Sorry. Sorry.

Editing! Yeah. Edit! We'll fix that later. Okay.

That's why we pay you, Amy. Yeah, I know. and

the 30th anniversary cover that has nothing to

do with this comic. None of the 30th anniversary

covers do. They just look awesome. I know. Yeah.

So we got Guido Guidi, colored by Mr. Awesome

Sauce himself, John Paul Beauvais. Starscream,

having his nightly dream of besting Megatron.

So choose wisely. Hello! I always choose Sarah's

but I will say this this cover like has you know

It's been over the internet everywhere, but this

cover after you read this is much more meaningful

Mm -hmm. Yeah Yeah, so I'm like, you know, I

love this cover Very cool. How about you Nicole?

I really do like all three of you know, the one

that doesn't make sense because I love Starscream

Cyclonus, but it's up there. Yeah sure But like

I said, the first time I saw this cover when

it was leaked out, the one that Sarah did, I

fell in love with it. I love this black and white

with just the splash of color and Starscream

in her lenses. Yeah, like Heather said, it has

more meaning to it now, but that little spark

that Starscream has. Yeah. So yeah, this month

I'm going to go with Sarah's cover. Cool. How

about you, Mike? Oh boy, um All I can think of

when I see the 30th anniversary cover is how

do you feel mighty Megatron? Kicks him I gotta

go with Sarah's cover. Like I said in the previous

two reviews This is solely Sarah to me it the

other covers are great and fine and you know

No disrespect to the other artists, but this

is their series. So I'm not gonna pick anyone

else's covers Yeah, I have to agree with that.

I also will have to, I pick Sarah's cover. I

love Alex's stuff. I really do. But again, this

is, this is their series. And so I've, it's just,

it's just, I want to see, I want to see. Go check

out Alex's When the Meets the Eye number 30.

Yeah. There's a channel of cyclonists that I

want as, you know, painted on my ceiling. Just

Cyclonus, that's all you want. You want whole

issue with Cyclonus on every page, every panel,

glaring, smiling, singing, doing his thing. I

would pay triple cover price for that. I would

pay triple cover price for that. Retail incentive,

triple cover price. I do kind of hope Alex posts

this cover somewhere though, because I really

like Metroplex's face in the background. He looks

really, really cool. And he's covered up halfway

with the writing, and so I'm like, oh man, I

want to see the rest of it. It's pretty. Yeah,

I think that's a beautiful cover too. It really

is. And I definitely have to give a shout out

to... Um, the 30th anniversary went, it may smile.

Anytime, anytime Guido draws anything, I am ridiculously

happy because that man is like one of the tip

top ultimate art gods and he can just draw and

draw and draw. Yep. It's a total time travel.

So he can decorate my ceiling if he wants to.

Oh, I see how it is. You have him in your basement.

Like I have Nick and mine. Scary, I would. Be

like, I have brownies. Do you want to come live

in my basement? They're magical brownies. Okay,

so the story so far in bullet points because

I just wanted to be different. So after Dr. Cybertron,

Metroplex welcomed everyone back to a city, former

state, that type of thing, you know, so the destruction

of Iacon wouldn't leave everyone homeless. Very

Metro of Mr. Plex. Well done, I see what you

did there. Is Metroplex metrosexual? I'm sure

there's fan fiction to tell you. Take it any

way you want. I just called him very Metro of

Mr. Plex, so there you go. Power outages. Windblade

uncovers a plot by Starscream that might devastate

Mr. Plex. Several attempts are made on her life

because of this, so she informs the news media

of Longtooth and Circuit to reveal these plots.

But they are attacked when they try to reveal

said plots and gather evidence. So we open the

first page where we were left off. The Terracons

are... attacking the group in Metroplex's bowels,

which is very smelly. We got Circuit, Longtooth,

Windblade, Chromia, Blurr, Waspinator, Slug,

and Tall Tankor. Am I missing anybody? Not yet.

Not yet. Okay, good. We have the top of people's

heads. We have the top of people's heads. Very

true. Okay, so Chromia tells Windblade to keep

it cool. So what does she do? She jumps into

action, thinking the Terracons can't fly. She

clearly did not read up on these guys' tech specs

when she came to Cybertron. So, she gets in a

flying match with, I believe, Cutthroat? Is it

Cutthroat? Please tell me if I'm wrong, because...

I gotta believe you. I totally failed to even

research on which one was what. I was spending

time researching. I failed. I apologize to all

the boys who know all the toys. I fail at that.

Okay, so I'm gonna say it's Cutthroat. Please

don't hate me, because I just guessed that it

was cutthroat. Okay, so he spews flames at her

and burns her a bit, which is not very fun. But,

you know, at least Windblade doesn't think it

was very fun. So Kromia peels off to help save

her, leaving everyone to fend for themselves,

which was like, burn! Which was like, awesome.

I was like, oh my gosh, I love you, slug. I love

you, slug. So Blur takes charge. First order

of business is to send Tall Tanker to help Windblade

and he calls him tall tank or which I love I

love it. I love it When every and then he turns

to everyone says kill a con or stay out of the

way So he's got a little thirsty While circuit

and long tooth document everything slug takes

on ripper snapper blur shoots the heck out of

center twin until he gets knocked into a slightly

burned waspinator. Tall Tanker and Windblade

do some aerial maneuvers to take out Cutthroat,

but just when it seems she'll be going down with

Cutthroat, she is saved by... Drumroll. Starscream?

I told you he's not that bad of a guy. Yeah.

And this is the first eight pages. So, Nicole,

tell us what you thought of the opening of this

comic. When I read this, it went by really quick.

It was just like, OK, what's going on? It's like

the big action scene. We're going to start a

fight. Yeah. Yeah. It's a big fight. And you

know what? You got some humor in it. You've got

some good action. I like that blur taken to control.

I like seeing blur this way. You know, I really

did enjoy that. Yeah, this was really like I

said, you go through these first six pages so

quick and you're just like, you got to go back

to see. Did I miss something? Because when you

see that Starscream is the one that saved her,

you're just like, wait, was he in the shadows

somewhere? I did not see him anywhere else. And

so I had to go back and read it. Yeah, it definitely

kept my interest very, very well. I love it.

And I love this red. Red everywhere. It just

pops up on the page. And when you get blur, that

bright blue, it just, yeah, I love the contrast.

We'll get to the artwork later. How about you,

Mike? I'm digging it. I'm really digging Windblade's

inner monologue as far as the storytelling goes.

The battles are all really nice and shiny. The

rig really does work here. We haven't gotten

to the point where I can make my other reference

yet though. No problem, no problem. How about

you, Heather? Um, I felt kind of, I mean, I blame

part of it on the post bot con brain deadness,

but I, the first time I read this, I was like,

what is even happening? I, what? And I was kind

of clueless. Part of it is that I'm really not

familiar with these. Wait, are they the tarot

cons? Yeah. Super not familiar with them. And

then like I didn't even realize that was tank

or flying behind her for a little bit I know

it says so but I was like mmm, so on my second

read I got it, but the first week I was like,

I don't understand what's going on there are

people and they're around Yeah, basically, um,

there's yes, I I mean, if I'm the only one who

was having a little bit of trouble following

the action, then it's all me. But if anybody

else was having a rough time, then I'd be like,

well, you know, maybe it could have been shown

a little more clearly. It's not the big action,

uh, points. It's more little things where I'm

like, no, wait, now who's doing what? Okay. What?

Where? Um, especially when she starts falling.

Yeah. And then it cuts to. Uh, Chromia versus

the other guy. I'm gonna set like I'm gonna get

all the hate. Oh, it wasn't Chromia. It was Blurr.

Blurr was she's one of the guys. Yeah, okay,

so I was like what? Yeah, at first I thought

that was Chromia too. And then I don't know how

okay and then and then Windblade says but at

least you're going first and I guess she's gonna

punch him before they hit the ground and then

Oh, okay. And then Starscream kind of flies into

her and the other guy hits the ground. Okay.

I just now got that. Hi. I have a brain. So yeah,

that'd be my only thing. I enjoyed the little

writing bit about the guns and how they don't

use them on Kamenists because if you miss, whatever

you hit is gone. Thought that was good. And gives

you a lot of insight into how they live. But

yeah, so for me, for me, it was more just like

a little bit confusing, but you know, totally

figure out a bowl. Yeah. Agreed. I read it post

bot com. It was free. No, no post. So after bot

con, but I've been so busy. I have to admit literally

only read it just a few hours ago and I'm running

the podcast. Anyhow. But yes, there were a few

bits that were confusing, but then when I actually

had to write it all out, I had to figure out

what the heck was going on and I figured it out.

But yeah, the action is really cool. I do like

the action. I liked the way that it went. I got

things better on the second read just because

my brain has really been out of commission. Anyhow,

long story short, I did like how this opened.

And I have to say the pace of the whole issue

was pretty quick because it's fight. Remifications

of fight get away and What happens next? Oh total

game changer, which is the whole thing of this

podcast, but we'll get there Okay, so you know

one other quick thing before you move on I was

a little disappointed that slug slash slag didn't

do anything in the fight because they really

focus on blur and you know a little bit here

and there of waspinator and obviously chromium

and wind blade, but you would imagine that a

Dinobot would be wreaking havoc, and we don't

really see him do much of anything. He must have

had too many, went too many of those darn about

demolishers. Yes, but when he finally appears

in the next panel, which you will address, he

looks like he's at least all sopping wet. So

he at least has stuff happening. Yeah, because

one of the issues, or not one of the issues,

one of the panels, you see, I think it's... Ripper

Snapper or who is it? One of the one of the taracons

is like got his face in the in the mud or in

the sludge. Oh, awesome. I was looking. Yeah,

the bell. It's like here has some bells. Nom

nom nom. Uh, was it? Which one? Which one is

it? Is it the one? Is it the end of the line

odd bots? Maybe where whoever the guy is. Is

it looking at blur? It's the guy that takes on,

let's see here. I said, I said, uh, slug takes

on ripper snapper. Yeah. It's the one that's

just like right where she's like, she's saying

you won't or it's, it's where, um, I can't get

these names right. I know. It's okay. We still

love you and I can't do it either. Yeah. So cutthroat.

She's in the air falling with cutthroat, and

he says, you won't make it Autobot. You're probably

right. And the next panel after that, you see

Ripper Snapper. Yeah, Ripper Snapper. His foot

on Slug's face, and it's like in the sludge.

Yeah, that's okay. And you see Longhorn and Circuit,

or Longtooth, not Longhorn, Longtooth and Circuit

in silhouette. Okay. Yeah. Thank you for clarifying.

Cause that was a panel that I was like, I know

there's stuff in that that I'm missing. Yeah.

And he says, yeah. And somebody says, maybe click.

And then we don't get to see what happens next

because the next part is where Starscream jumps

in. I have to say, I really did like when he,

like his entrance into this issue. Yeah, that

was good. The panel where his like, his chest

like boom in your face. I'm sorry. So epic. Check

out the new body. Yeah. I've had it for a while,

but I still like to show it off. Exactly. He

looks like one of the guys that work out at the

gym. Yeah. But he only does legs once a week.

He only does his shoulders. Yeah, everything

else. He only does the arms like five days a

week, and he only does legs once a week. So he's

super stacked on top. If you pushed him in the

wrong direction, he'd fall over. Sorry. I had

to do it. Yeah. Kind of like most of the Starscream

toys. You don't balance them properly. They don't

stand up properly. Yeah, exactly. I also liked

the movie reference here. And that will not go

unanswered, no matter the cost. That was kind

of funny. That made me laugh. Okay, so moving

on. So Rattrap, on the next page, is also there.

And they, yeah, it's like they are there to,

like, you know, epic heroes here. They're here

to come rescue them, actually. No, they are here

to arrest everybody. And I was like, what? Say

what? Say what? Yeah, all of Windblaze crew,

everybody who showed up. to gather evidence.

Everybody's arrested. She's arrested for crimes

against Cybertron. And this is where I got really

angry at the comic. I don't know what it was.

It's just like how it went. I just started getting

really pissed off. I was like, what? What? I

felt the outrage. So they all go to jail all

of them, but the terracons of course and all

of what happens next in the cells Windblade learns

of later as she isn't present to hear all of

the chatter because she's in with a rat trap

getting the interrogation treatment I mean torture

Basically Starscream pulls a prowl and he gets

his own brute squad to keep up what he deems

is the piece and Starscream flipping tables Because

he's smart enough to have other people flip him

for him exactly want to read he doesn't want

to ruin those pretty hands of his So, he's really

jerky about it, Starscream is, to Prowl. Wait,

Starscream's a jerk? No way. He's really jerky

about this. And it wasn't to Prowl, I meant to

Blurr, I can't read my own notes, sorry. So he's

telling Blurr, you should have let me use the

bar more. Really? That was trippy. That was funny.

No, it was dark and yet another example of Starscream

just being a skinny little bleepity bleepity

bleep. Exactly. That's the thing with Starscream.

You think he's just this, he is always five steps

ahead of the game. I would not want to play chess

against Starscream. So they are all incriminated

as being the ones that were deliberately damaging

Metroplex to help Windblade stay in power. What

do you know? And even though Longtooth has video

evidence, at which point Starscream points out

that the evidence in his head, and it only threatens

him as long as his head stays on his shoulders,

and he was like, oh. Oh yeah, and finally he

points out how many of your so -called brothers

will follow you if you don't side with me. A

very good point as everyone is divided and who

wants to be incarcerated on pain of death. So

Starscream, he's got these guys right where he

wants them. What do you think about that, Mike?

He's more competent than I thought he would be.

Yeah, I mean he's... Starscream, the way that

Margaret is writing this is she is basically

making Starscream the biggest red herring in

Transformers history. I gotta say, I know we're

not there just yet, but when we get to the page

where she's talking about her agenda, she says,

my agenda isn't secret. Item one, kill Starscream.

End of agenda. You know, strangling me won't

do much. Cybertronians, don't breathe. The first

thing I thought of, even though, well, number

one, Starscream, in this light, his face out...

Just his face by itself, not his headdress there.

Kind of reminds me of Hot Rod from 86, a little

bit. And the first thing I thought of was, you

oughta must die so easily or I might have a sense

of satisfaction now. Good times. Oh man. But

no, this comic took a huge twist. Yeah, this

wind blade realizes Starscream was asking her

about the explosion not the one and it wasn't

the one that he had set off And this I honestly

after reading this I have no idea what is gonna

happen in issue four I Like Like I said she has

Margaret has made Starscream the biggest red

hair and transformers history at least in my

opinion anyway, because He eventually becomes

sort of a good guy, sort of. Yeah. How about

you, Nicole? About Starscream? Yeah, about Starscream.

This whole scene, he basically puts everybody

in jail and he's got them right where he wants

them. Like I said, I've always loved Starscream

as a character because you never know what card

he's going to play. Is he going to do the right

thing? Is he going to do the... The thing is

he the only thing he's kind of like Loki. The

only thing you know is that he's playing for

himself. Yeah, that is it So it's just like why

is he doing this? What what's in it for Starscream?

And I can't wait to figure out what that is No,

this is beautifully written. Like I said and

again the art I Love his facial expressions.

My gosh, it's beautiful Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you

know Sarah again Kicked it out apart. Whoo. Oh

Yeah, there's some of these especially the page

where like rat trap puts the cuffs on slug and

the next panel were Starscream's got a gun pointed

at the back of windblades head. I love the perspective

on that. Oh my gosh. Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm. That was

just And we couldn't get a We kind of got a hint

of what's going to happen with Starscream at

the very beginning of the book, because we didn't...

There isn't much to the cast page this time around,

but Starscream says, ruler of Cybertron not loving

it. I think that's the same thing it said in

the last issue, but it makes a lot more sense

here than it did there as far as his kind of

yearbook picture. Also torture that's dark Margaret

dark. Yeah, I I'm sorry. I Really like this part

Okay, I'm a little I'm a little sinister myself

but again the lighting it's all about the lighting

you're just like You feel like you're just like

a fly on the wall just watching this happen and

you're just like what's gonna happen next? Yeah,

okay Wow, this whole section was awesome. Um

Gosh, where to start? Okay. So the panel where?

Actually, yeah that whole page that you were

mentioning, but especially the panel where he's

like doing something to the back of her neck

like some sort of probably restraining cloth

thing and her face is just mashed into the ground

and Then he like kicks her in the face. He just

like walks over and drags his toe across her

face. Oh Yeah, and showing his dominance over

her. Yeah. Oh speaking of which I had a really

good talk with Margaret About this and the way

they're doing Starscream because I was like,

you know, sometimes he Really creeps me out and

she's like it's because we're making him sexually

aggressive and we are not used to seeing that

in transformers comics and putting in stuff that

you know people have to deal with we're like

Bosses are jerks to them. I'm like good. There's

that whole Femis agenda there. Yeah But it was

yeah, I really appreciate that conversation after

but so that was good. Um, okay, so those masked

police spots, the badge -less ones, that, like,

his little personal SS group that Starscream's

got, that's creepy. I assume there's gonna be

more done with them. Oh yeah, especially since

they learned about the badge -less, as people

will soon call them. Yeah, I'm like, you know,

who are they? And, ah, creepy. Just think about

this, okay. Prowl had sideswiped with a gun that

got bigger and bigger and bigger every single

issue, right? Yeah, now Starscream has his badge

lists. They keep on getting, you know, bigger

face masks every time. So that really intrigued

me. He's only just taking tips from Prowl. See,

everything starts and ends with Prowl. He's the

bad guy here. Wouldn't doubt playing Prowl. I

love the thing about notice there's no decepticons

in here with us and the tankers are like hey

And there was a fun little, knowing Marigold,

I'm sure this isn't a reference on purpose, but

the thing, how many do you think will hang together

for an alien's life against incarceration on

pain of death? And I think that hang together

has got to be a reference to that quote from

the guys who were writing the Constitution or

the Declaration of Independence. I don't remember

which, probably the Declaration of Independence,

where I think it was Benjamin Franklin. And he

said, we have to all hang together or assuredly

we will all hang separately. I believe so. That

is right. nice anyway that was fun but yeah stopping

before the torture because i'm sure you want

to go into that yeah we're gonna totally go into

that because i call these next few pages the

torture pages because that's exactly what's going

on when blake being tortured by for information

by rat trap i've never hated him ever until now

He got creepy all of a sudden. Like, you're enjoying

that way too much. Way too much. Yeah, and he's

always been kind of the little dork -tacular

one and all of a sudden he's just power tripping

and like, ha ha ha. I think this is the part

where he could actually prove himself to Starscream.

That's why he's doing it. Well, the thing is

because he's always like the little brother wanting

to live up to Big Brother. And so this is his

chance to show what he could do. You might not

be successful at it. The fact that he's actually

mentioned that he kind of has done this before.

Oh, everybody says that when, that's the first

thing everybody says when they're here. Oh yeah.

And I've heard that line before. You have nothing

to tell me? What was, what did he say? I've got

nothing to say to you. You know, you'd be surprised

how often I hear things like that. Like, like

you've done this, what, every weekend, every

night as a... you know hobby what are you doing

that's really creepy yeah i've never taken rat

trap seriously until all of a sudden he's got

the happy switch i took him seriously seriously

when he wasn't a zypticon sympathizer he's got

the endoscopic claw not funny Now I was like,

I think it was those stupid aliens from Toy Story.

Ooh, the claw. The claw, Jesus, who will go and

who will stay? My best impression right there.

Okay, so where is Chromia? He starts asking these

questions. Where is Chromia? Why are you here?

What's your real mission? And the idea that Rattrap

has done this before. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

yeah. And that's about when Starscream comes

in to play good cop, bad cop. Good cop to...

Ratbat's a bad cop. Uh, he releases Windblade.

I meant rat trap. I'm sorry. Sorry! Sorry! Okay,

so he releases wind blade and she's like instantly

on him to choke him, which is very hilarious.

Like we've already mentioned before, she's like,

ah, we don't have a choke, you know, you can't

choke because it'll breathe. And he's like, that's

all right. I'm just gonna take your head off.

Boom. Um, but he has stopped her attempt by kneeing

her in the middle. And then we get the clincher.

I wanted to help you. Then why did you stop?

What? That was like, what? Stop what? She was

stopping you, you dope. Yeah. He was trying to

kill Metroplex, sort of, didn't sit well with

her. Oh, he's got, you know, you know, he says

back to him. Oh, he's a big bot, a few dings

in his filters isn't gonna kill him. And she's

like, well, what about the outages? The bomb!

And Rattrap says, we didn't. At which point Starscream

orders him to take her back to the cell. So...

This is when I seriously started to... Wait,

wait, wait, let's go back to, let's go back to

the issue where you saw Rattrap in the background.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait a second.

Wait, wait. You saying that that wasn't Rattrap?

What? Anyhow. So did this crumble your world,

Heather? Um, I had sort of been getting the feeling

that this was not all Starscream. So I wasn't

shocked. to find out that it hadn't all been

him. But I will say that Then Why Did You Stop

is my favorite panel and it's incredibly powerful

because I actually, I kind of grok Starscream

in that as well as Windblade because he's human

there. I was thinking I could trust you and you

turned on me. Because that's how he perceives

it is that she's you know because he sees everyone

as a backstabbing glitch like he is and so he

just you know that that sense of just betrayal

that he is showing and and her just Realization,

I mean that the previous panel where she's like

I wanted to help you that's heartbreaking Yeah,

that that whole just those two panels there.

That's the crux of the entire issue for me and

they're they're incredible. And yeah, I really,

I enjoyed the turn of this because I was ready

for one. I was ready because it was feeling too

simplistic. Oh, yeah, it's all Starscream. I'm

like, no, no, Merrick would not write something

that simple. And so, yeah, I, you know, I can't

say I was surprised, but I was excited by this

turn. And it's good stuff, and oh, that lighting.

That lighting is amazing. It's creepy, but it's

really good. How about you, Mike? Well, the lighting

on Starscream when he's telling Rattrap to take

her back to her cell, and Starscream basically

bitch slaps Rattrap. Ow! Boom! Ow! Do what I

say! And the panel next to it where Starscream

says, unless you think you can kill me here and

explain it, the two of them I swear I don't really

follow people I don't really follow people's

habits of shipping characters but I swear to

god the two of these two characters Starscream

and Windblade look like they're in a marriage

here they really do where he's got something

over her this is when they you know break into

the most angriest kiss ever right I'm sorry.

Wait, wait, wait. Is Heather's daughter writing

fanfic again? I'm sorry. I apologize to the listeners.

I did not mean to put that image into your head.

Just, you know. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm really,

really sorry. It's stuck there now. Thanks, Amy.

Sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I shouldn't

have said that. You're a terrible person. I know.

I'm ashamed. I'm so ashamed. Yeah, I can't talk

I do terrible This is why there are so many shippers

out there about Starscream But I have to say

I did see one recently that I thought was hilarious.

So anyhow Nicole we have not yet heard from you.

What would you what did you think of this whole

turn of events? I Really liked I was like with

Heather. I'm like I like to see where this is

going, you know because Like her I didn't think

Starscream was The 100 % behind this plan, but

I thought he might have been had something to

do with it But to see the look of surprise on

his face it kind of give me like well, what's

it again that question? What is his motive? What

is his final act what I mean? Again, it just

confuses me because you never know what he's

gonna do but but the thing is I don't think it's

rat trap unless he's just playing the part because

He's acting like he doesn't know about the whole

bomb situation either, so it's just like, I don't

know! Who's the bad guy now? This may question

everything. Go ahead. I keep thinking, and I

know I'm probably wrong, since this bot died

at the end of Dwarf Cybertron. You're a man on

a podcast of three women. You were always wrong.

Oh, shut up. Are you trying to suggest that Metalhawk

may be involved? No. Good ol' one eye. Shockwave?

Shockwave always has clones of himself everywhere.

Yes, but this doesn't seem like his M .O. But

they're his ores, right? So, wouldn't it? I kind

of hope not. I need the ending of DC to be more

final than that. Just kidding. Honestly, who

else could it be? Why would he want to get back

at Starscream? What did Starscream do to him?

Maybe it's... Like I said, Shockwave always has

clones everywhere. Maybe it's one of the Shockwave

clones wanting to continue on with this plan

of destroying the universe. I don't know. I honestly

have no idea who the hell it is. Really. Up until

this issue, I totally thought Swindle was involved,

because I could totally see, especially with

the ore extraction and whatnot. I figured the

ore thing. Was probably something Starscream

was doing but I also figured that swindle was

in on it until he showed up on a wind blades

team Yeah, and then I was like I got all my theories

out the window I mean, I still you know, he still

could maybe be involved somehow because you know,

he's swindling he can play all the sides But

he's just so adorable in his animated mode. It's

like I can't hate you. You're so cute Punching

the little buttons and be like, I don't know

this. Yeah Okay, so despite the fact that it

was like really really dark. I have to say I

got through this going what? Yeah, I just Yeah,

I just it's like one of those moments where you're

like, okay dad go go back and read the other

two issues again. Yeah Yeah, and then the fact

that you said I wanted to help you and then so

why did you stop and I think way way way way

way She never did it's like do you get the feeling

that you two should have already been on the

same page like ages ago and maybe because of

your Paranoia Starscream this would have happened

somebody's setting him up And I don't know if

he figures that out at this point or not I kind

of hope that he does and if he's intelligent

enough to figure it out, then he would be It

would be To his benefit to drop the facade and

just be real with her again That doesn't do anything

to help with the whole shipping thing But here's

here's the problem who else is on Cybertron Optimus

and his team are on earth Megatron is basically

stolen the keys to the lost light and gone off

on his own quest There isn't anybody that is

mastermind enough, I'd say, to go up against

Starscream. And that's what gets me. That's why

I'm like, I don't know of anybody. The only thing

I can think is that maybe Marigret is about to

introduce somebody new that we don't. I was just

going to say that. Is this going to be a new

character? Because it can't be Shockwave, he's

dead. Can't be Soundwave, because why would he

care? He's not there. He's with Galvatron. I

mean, I don't know anybody else that's cool enough

to be up against Starscream like that, because

they're not cool enough to - He's the guy that

wrote the book on how to play the game, and now

he's just been one -upped on it, you know? I

don't think she can get away with introducing

a new character in this, though. Because it would

just be... For me, anyway, if she were to introduce

a new character as the main villain, I would...

My knee -jerk response would be to throw hands

in the air and Mary Sue stomp off in anger. Because...

This series is about introducing a new character

and in a way new characters because you know

chromia yeah, and you can't have a Series based

in a deep long -standing universe where you rely

too much on all new characters What about a Autobot

that's gone rogue see that would be interesting

what prowl so it's a prowl He's on there can't

be proud. We can't be proud and that's the only

one I'd say is even close even remotely close

to this We're gonna get Sunstreaker back A Sunskraker's

on the Lost Light! Oh yeah, that's right, he's

on the Lost Light. And I hope he's over himself

by now. Please, Prime, let him stay over himself.

As long as he still has Bob, please. Yeah, just

let him keep Bob and everything's okay. I don't

know, see, I'm sure we're overlooking something

obvious. Yeah. But until then, let us have this.

Find out next issue, right? Yeah, exactly. Okay,

so, continuing on. What if it's Blur? What if

this is all facade and it was Blur? He really

wants to do the whole bar thing he really knows

that's the thing I'm gonna have to think about

this now Like I said, maybe it's Willie that

would be That'd be a page turn be like whoa Really?

Oh, yeah, really? He turns into a mob boss. There

you go That's another thing that needs to be

drawn I basically just wish I had a thousand

dollars to commission people with. Would you

pick Wheely the Godfather? That'd be amazing.

I do want to just throw out really fast. I love

the panel where Windblade gets thrown into the

- You can't refuse. No, can you imagine Wheely

doing rhymes in, you know, this kind of voice?

But anyway, speaking of Blur, can we bring up

the wonderful panel where Windblade gets thrown

back into jail and she's just like covering Blur's

mouth like, please just be quiet, I can't deal

with your crap. Shhh, I'm thinking and you can't,

ah, I can't think with you talking. Yeah. He's

like, you make a lot of noise, Blur. You make

a lot of noise. Made me laugh. I think that's

one of my problems, not specifically reading

this series or even reading the two main ongoings.

I can't hear Blur talking a million miles a minute

in my head when I read his lines. It sounds like

he's in super slow motion to me. Don't know what

it is. It's it's just really weird. It doesn't

bug me or anything, but it just it's weird It's

been a while since his racing days Okay, so continuing

on basically like we've said wind blade is brought

back to the cell with the others and she's contemplating

everything now Which because she's just made

a realization as have we all? He was torturing

her for information, but on his own bomb and

the power outages that he started he wasn't surprised

about it there but he was a little bit but that

but he was surprised about all of the information

and when she revealed things he did like get

surprised up uh... issues making all these connections

and try to figure out and trying to shut up blur

at the same time like you know yeah because hand

over the mapping chromia who hasn't who wasn't

caught And she hasn't been in the comics until

this point again. She saves the day by breaking

them out of jail with a big bay explosion. An

inwalk swindle and skybite. I was like, yay,

skybite, the flying shark. Can I tell you how

happy it was? If I had two good legs, I would

be dancing. OK. Skybite. Yeah, I was happy about

skybite. Skybite. And they all escape out of

there while being shot at. But once they are

out the front door, Blur and Slug stay back to

slam the door on the guards, following them in

their faces, like dude in your faces, which also

includes Starscream and Rattrap. Yay! So escape.

Well timed, Nicole? I think so. How do you like

your battering ram? Yeah. I was like, oh, yay!

I love it. I love it. Kirby's just awesome. Let's

just say that. She's so cool. She needs her own

little series. She needs her own series, man.

And Swindle. Dino bots, no manners. Ever since

animated, I always picture Swindle's voice as

Fred Willard. Fred Willard, yep. It will never

change. It will probably never change for me.

How about you, Heather? How did you feel about

this breakout? It was good. I have to really

respect Cromia's restraint because she watched

Windblade get arrested. You can see her standing

way up above and she held back because she was

waiting. for her chance to make a difference.

That would have been hard, you know, because

they're pals, and she usually watches her get

kicked in the face. But she's already demonstrated

that she's the one that can show restraint, because

she was like, no, wind blade, hold back. This

is another part where the action got a little

tiny bit confused for me, where they all, okay,

so they break out the doors, and then... blur

and chromia and everybody just kind of stop and

they talk about the battering ram and The guys

are coming and then once you said they slammed

the door shut on them. I'm like, oh, that's what

was happening But I was I was confused by that

panel the the current panel with blur and Yeah,

I was like they look like they're just butting

heads. I don't get it Like at first I actually

thought that maybe Starscream had like pushed

a button and closed the door on them. And so

I'm like, wait, are they stuck inside? But anyway,

so that's a small critique there. Yeah, that

part was got a little strange and yeah, but I

got it. I got to give critiques. Otherwise it

just becomes a, this was awesome. Yeah. Can see

what you mean because it I mean it kind of does

show it a little bit by a little bit You can

see the intention was there. Yeah, but it's It's

not the only like head butt that you saw on the

whole thing slug and and one of the tarot cons

like butt heads earlier and Yeah, no like what

once you said that okay, I get it, but yeah,

I did have to Slam it on their face! How about

you, Mike? No, the breakout is great. The colors

on it are amazing. I will say the action is a

little bit too... I don't know, the bottom panel

with... I assume the succor is Windblade. the

blue at the bottom right where she says, but

can I defend Metroplex? Can I defend them? The

blue and red kind of blend a little bit too much

for me between her and Slag. I'm sorry. That's

what his name is, damn it. I don't care what

you Brits say. Yeah, I know. Slug, Slag. I wish

it was Slug still, too. Slag, you mean? Slag.

Ugh, I'm tired, sorry. I apologize profusely,

slug. I mean, slag. Say what you're doing to

me! I bet everybody on the other side of the

IDW was like, yes, see, our plan has worked.

You're starting to think of him as slug, instead

of slag. Yes, rubbing their hands together and

laughing evilly, and possibly petting a cat with

a spiked collar. Oh, that changes things. You

know, Mr. Captain of Continuity has got a cat

that he's... Yes! Oh my gosh! John Barber is

Dr. Claw. I'll be back. I'll be back. Her computer

has been possessed by a black screen. and she'll

be back shortly, so that's right! That's what

happens when you ship Cyclonus too often. Cyclonus!

Transform and attack! Oh, he checks with her

and I said, okay, we'll say terrible naughty

things about Cyclonus while you're gone. She

says, I knew it! Me Grimlock! I missed what happened.

That's okay. We said the terrible things about

Cyclonus already. We've moved on. You guys always

do. People try to do that to me. I know where

his love lies, and it's in my lap. Well, I didn't

say that. It totally is for me. Yes, you just

did. I have evidence of it. I forgot where we

were. I'm starting at the last page. We have

to get to Metroplex's brain. It's the safest

place. Yeah, that's where we were. Alright, we'll

just go ahead and continue forward then. Alright,

so... Like I said, I apologize. My computer just

went totally black. I'm like, what just happened?

I don't know what happened. You were sucked into

the Benzulli expanse. I think it's all my love

letters to Psyconus that are still in my hard

drive. Exactly. I guess he's a fictional character,

so I can't send it to him. What do you mean he's

fictional? Okay, so last final scenes. The last

safe place for Windblade and Chromia. is in Metroplex's

brain room. And on the way, Windblade explains

that she doesn't think that it's Starscream that's

done this. What? Well, he's doing the filter

damage, but not everything else. Someone is pulling

power from Metroplex, and the only question left

is why. Dun, dun, dun! The only thing that I'm

missing from this issue... Not done yet! I'm

not done yet! I know! But it has nothing to do

with what you're going to say. Really? You don't

even know what I'm going to say. Are you going

to say anything about Ironhide? No, I'm not going

to say anything about Ironhide. It has nothing

to do with what you're going to say. Ironhide's

not even your page. I know. That's what I'm saying.

The one thing that I missed this entire issue

was Mr. Mopey himself, Ironhide, a little bit.

I kind of missed him. Thanks for noticing me.

I know, exactly. You mean like you would have

wanted him to be guarding and have them come

in and like at least pass... So the last page

is Mr. Plax's brain, wind voice in route, filtration

system integrity 54%, power transfer 98 .9%,

then 99 .7%, power transfer complete, activating

space bridge, and we see a space bridge open,

and then to be continued. Of course, what a cliffhanger.

How's that for a game changer, right? Who else

has a space bridge? Okay, so Megatron had one,

but that's not probably gonna happen. Yeah, it's

not Megatron. So basically another Titan? Oh!

Oh my gosh! That might actually be, because this

is based on something that Jason said to me,

because I have been agitating about the Titans

for a while. Repelating or agitating? Agitating,

actually, where I poke people and be like, explain

to me why the Transformers think that they're

really cool progenitors and yet kill them. Okay,

here's a thought. Kamenists. Discuss. Wait, oh,

Kamenists? That's the thing, because Jason was

saying something about there's gonna be more

about the Titans in the next issue. So, that

would be awesome if it was Kamenists. It really

might, because... Oh, it really might, because

we know there's going to be, because of people

talking, there's going to be more about Windblade

and Kamenous and how that all works in the next

issue, too. Oh, that would be cool. I think Heather's

head's going to explode. Well, I think she's

going to convince herself. If that's going to

happen, cut it on tape. I need more Titans, because

Mergrid makes me love them, as you have seen.

past issues okay Mike what what what do you think

now that we've got an iron hide out of the way

I think it could be Kevin us I I kind of open

it see here's the thing now that we know And

this is one of the reasons why I love that Windblade

3 was, you know, killed by the Diamond Gods till

the week after it was supposed to be out, and

it's after BotCon, because we know Windblade

is going to return. We don't know how or when

or what's going to go on then, but it would be

interesting if she's... Okay, she came to Cybertron

in Dark Cybertron. She's on Cybertron in this.

What if Windblade Returns isn't on Cybertron?

What if it's on Cannibus? Did you just say cannabis,

because I'll laugh if you did. No, it was N,

it's not B's. Sorry, I'm a terrible person. Cannabis,

yeah. Dude, right on. Okay, Nicole, what's your

theory? I thought it might be another Titan,

because I was trying to think of who, again.

Shockwave has space bridge technology. Yes, but

we know he's dead and they've already said he's

gonna be out of the picture for a little while

Or was that a tease? So it's just like Megatron.

He's got his own storyline on more than meets

the eye and I'm trying to think who else has

It has I'm thinking it must be another Titan

Sorry, Nicole, wouldn't it be awesome, though,

if Marigold was like, I see your story, James.

I'm just going to snatch your Megatron out of

it for a second. You don't mind, do you? That

would be kind of cool. That would be cool. Well,

OK. And more than we see, there's two Rodimus.

There's two Rodimus. So that's Rodimai. Rodimai.

Rodimus. Rodimus. I don't know. Who says there

couldn't be two Megs? I had a better idea. I

don't know if it's better, but I just had a realization.

What if it's Unicron? Too big, too fast, too

soon. Yeah. They're going to keep, they're going

to keep you. Hey, I'm going to throw a wrench

in the whole thing. Why would it be cannabis?

Yeah, you see it. You make it look like it's

cannabis. Well, why would it be Caminus? Because

they sent her there. Why would they send her

there only to try and hurt Metroplex? They are

city speakers Right, but it doesn't make sense

that they would try to hurt him or do this explosion

thing and try to hurt her Because she's one of

the city speakers and they don't believe in in

all of that You know, you know aggression stuff

against their own. Why would they do it to one

of their own? How many of those societies have

had that one lone person that doesn't believe

in what the entire society believes, and they

want to cause all kinds of chaos? Yes, but she

does believe in that. Wait, here's another theory.

Here's another theory, Mike. What if it's someone

that wants to give, to take down Starscream,

and this is the way they're going to take down

Starscream. Who, I mean, it'd be easier to...

What Decepticon has the ability to do that? It's

left. that isn't like somewhere else. Scourge.

At the end of this issue, I was honestly wondering

if Metroplex had orchestrated all this. And that

was another idea I had too. What if it was Metroplex

that orchestrated all of it? I was like, I honestly

have no idea. I have no theories. I have like,

it doesn't make sense. I'm like, ah. But we only

have one more issue, right? Yeah, this is it.

One more issue. We're going to find out next

issue was, like, I hope we were. I hope we're

going to find out. Like, I'm not going to make

any promises and say, oh, Marigrette said it's

all going to make sense in issue four, which

she actually kind of did say that. I could actually

understand why Metroplex might be calling Cam

in his home. Because remember earlier, the Titan

that they found that was screaming because he

wanted to go home so bad and he couldn't. Also,

you know, Metroplex has been there long enough

to be like, whoa, dude, having another giant

dude might be really good to kind of keep some

control on these crazy little dudes. All he needs

to do is just get Omega Supreme back and he'd

have somebody to talk to. What if it is Omega?

Isn't he still stuck on a rock somewhere? No,

no, no, he had his legs. Blowed off he got blown

up, and I don't know what happened He's still

in the hospital being fixed for all that yeah

He got you know like really hurt to the point

that we didn't even seem a dark Cybertron poor

guy Yeah, first. He's hanging out in a cave,

then he gets his legs blown off I forgot about

that Omega supreme lives did like show up and

then get shunted off to one side What if it's

Grimlock with his new brain Okay, now we're just

throwing stuff out. Well, yeah, because you don't

know who like I Like I said earlier, I I have

no idea what to expect from issue four. I honestly

don't What about Tripticon? It's gonna blow our

minds I don't think trip. I don't think Tripticon's

smart enough for this Honestly, what if if he

has a little helper piloting it baby? What if

he has a city speaker? Are you saying Tommy the

Green Ranger is going to be sitting inside Trypticon

now? Wow, that's a whole Dragonzord crossover

right there. Who was the minicon that used to

come with Metroplex? What's his name? Oh, you

would ask me that. Oh god. I'm so not with my

minicons. It's not Nightstick, that was Cyclonus'.

Crap I forget and I'm not looking it up. I'm

gonna go to the wiki man. It's Well Amy's going

to the wiki I'm going to preview number four

Public enemy number one wind blade seeks out

the last refugee. She has left the Living City

Metro. Sorry That was it says right here his

mini -con was full tilt Metroplex's mini -con

was that Triptychon with minicon full tilt. Yeah,

she's asking Metroplex is not triptychons. Yeah,

not not triptychons. Metroplex. Metroplex. Windblade

seeks out the last refugee she has left in this

living city, Metroplex, as his malfunctions intensify.

Windblade realizes that even if she survives

Starscream, Metroplex himself may doom them all.

Scamper because I went to the he was it's the

one that was in the iron hide mini that was hanging

out with him. What if it's him? You don't love

me anymore, Metroplex. I'm gonna get back at

you. You love that Windblade. He's gay. He's

just, you know, getting mad at him. I'm sorry,

I say that. This is the shipping process. Wow.

I am not trying to, you know, be disrespectful

at anybody who's gay or anything like that. I'm

just saying, look, you know, maybe he's just

upset because like, hey, he's been replaced by

Windblade and he's back at... They were congies.

I have all these terms that I get from my posse,

and I forget that other people do not use them.

And so, like, in the last one, I'm like, who's

gonna be the pants? And you guys are like, uh,

and I'm like, oh, yeah, you don't know that term,

la la la. And then I'm like, some, some congees.

I mean, conjuncts indura. Yes, and scamper is

Metroplex's... Scamper? Yeah. Well, that wiki

stuff was wrong. The wiki never fails. Alright,

this is another issue that was not titled. The

last one wasn't either, so I'm guessing it's

part three of A Bot and Her City. So let's talk

art. Who wants to go first? I love the art. I

think it's great. There are moments where it

blended a little bit too much for me, like I

mentioned in the breakout scene. The combination

of the colors, the way that Sarah is doing it

is simply amazing. The way that she showed Windblade

traveling in several of the shots, I think at

the opening page when she transforms, it's like

she's going down and swooping up. That is just

awesome. She does do really well with movement.

Actually, Sarah does probably the best. lighting

that I've seen. I mean, you just feel like you

know exactly where they're at in each place,

whether they're in the room or if they're in

the bowels. It's just like, you know, you have

that feeling of where the light sources are coming

from. My gosh, genius. You know, like that whole

thing with the herd interrogation. That's so

beautiful. Oh, beautiful. So beautiful. Okay,

I know. I am demented like that. It was beautiful.

It was like a ballet of black and white. I loved

it. You wouldn't be saying that if Rattrap got

a hold of Cyclonus. That would never happen.

Never say never. I mean, even I am like, Cyclonus

would phone Rattrap. He just would. Yeah. Don't

disgrace his name like that. Oh, god. Wash your

mouth out. I also have to put a word in here

about the expressions. I've always enjoyed Windblade's

expressions and Starscream's as well. This issue

had quite a few comic moments of expressions

that were just well done. The angst, the angry,

the snarky, the ouch that hurts! She just did

a good job. Oh, and there was an avatar -looking

smirk in here, too. Wait, where? I'm curious.

It's gotta be the first page that we saw Windblade

getting her torture on. She was like, ah! It

looked very avatar -face -ish to me. And I was

all right with it. I was like, oh, look! It reminds

me of Avatar! Oh, you're right! It totally is!

Totally reminds me. Yay! I love how she does

Starscream's eyes. Yeah. Especially that look,

that one panel where he has that look of surprise.

Yeah. That was beautiful. That was gorgeous.

That was so beautiful. And she's good at using

pupils when necessary and not, you know, they're

there when they need to be and not when they

don't need to be. Yeah. Yeah. They're tools and

she uses them well. when they help for the expressions

the pupils are there. She's making me change

my mind about Starscream, which I have never,

ever been okay with Starscream. I remember you've

never been a Starscream fan. I have not been

a fan of his. I think he's creepy. I think he's

not loyal to anybody but himself. I have not

been a fan of him, but you know what? Sarah makes

me have a little warm, you know, feeling in my

heart that makes me go, hmm, maybe I've been

too harsh on him. Definitely he definitely becomes

a full person in this issue and that's good This

doesn't feel like it's a wind blade issue It's

feels almost kind of like a spotlight Starscream

almost because it's mostly history because you

find out who he is Somewhat he still has that

side like he's gonna become a douchebag again.

You know it but he's also a douchebag bag that's

been played as well because somebody's like on

his turf and you know getting him upset at wind

blade and wind blade upset him and you know hey

who could his enemy be because again like i said

who who could possibly do this to him that he

wouldn't see it coming i mean there's nobody

that's been actively like on that role so I'm

just like racking my brain going I don't know

I'm gonna go through the TF wiki and just hit

random Nope what if it's our siege she's crazy

See and that's and I know we're probably I'm

probably jumping the gun here I know we're probably

gonna talk about this next time, but I have to

ask this now with wind blade ending More Than

Meets the Eye off in space on some new Megatron

Swerve quest, and Optimus and his team on Earth,

you know, fighting Galvatron and the Earth Decepticon

Command. Who the hell's gonna be on Cybertron?

Are we gonna get, you know, Transformers Starscream,

the next four -issue miniseries or something?

How are you...? I know that Barber said that

the Earth team will go back and forth between

Earth and Cybertron, but how early is that gonna

happen? If Windblade ends... If you check the

September solicits, at least the cover, I haven't

read it yet, but the cover has Windblade, Starscream,

Rattrap, and a big hand. Oh, that's right. I've

seen that one. Did Sarah do that one? I don't

remember. Is that the one she's going to do the

art for? I don't know. I'm sorry. I need to read

the solicits. I just saw it briefly. I went,

oh, I guess Barbara's going to be waiting. I

Mean this is way too much in the future, but

I'm really gonna miss this line up this team

of Writing an art. Oh my gosh. No, she'll be

on an issue. We only have to wait Yeah Only a

year. It's only a little bit right? Oh, is it

really a full year out? Yeah, cuz they said we

won't be getting it till Spring no Darn. I was

thrilled then, because I figured it would be

this, and then it would go straight into Drift,

the second Drift miniseries, and then it would

go right back into this. Darn. Yeah, that's another

thing we haven't talked about yet, is about the

next Drift. Yeah. There's another Drift series.

Surprise! Shane's been like, wee! Sarah is doing

sub covers on primacy is what she's doing They

also did mention that she will be on at least

an issue of robots in disguise So maybe that'll

be the issue in September. I don't know. I'm

pretty sure they're gonna flip back and forth

it makes sense that they would do that because

I'm looking at it here Barbara's writing Sarah

and Andrew our art Wheeljack reborn Oh spoilers

Well, it's gonna be weird having John riding

wind blade now because To be honest up until

Margaret got a hold of her wind blade was really

blah I agree. Well, give him a chance to see

what he does. Yeah, see now he'll do much better.

I think he'll do much better because she's got

a voice. She's been established as a character

and he can work with that, but I'm just like,

that is gonna be weird. Okay, so I also have

to say that while we're talking about the art,

now last issue we were kind of down on the art.

We said the coloring was weird, something was

off. We didn't really get back to it and say

what we did. Did the issue look better in print

and does this issue have the same problem as

last issue? When I got when I got number two

when I got wind blade number two I think it was

the PDF honestly because number two looked a

lot more clearer There was a lot more clarity

to it. It wasn't as grainy as what I saw in the

PDF So I think it was just a bad PDF on my part

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the trade because

I'm a terrible person so I can't really tell

you I think it helped a little bit, but not a

whole lot. But then I found out how pressed for

time Horsera was for that last issue. And I think

this issue looks a lot better, this third issue.

It's come a long way. I don't know if it's the

colors or if it's the detail, but this one doesn't

seem as... sketchbooky. I love sketchbook art,

but not for a final. Gotcha. So, yeah, I think

this one looks a lot better. Number three looks

a lot better. Like I said, the black and white

panels, I think. I just love that. Pretty. OK,

so final thoughts in a rating. Who would like

to go first? Let's not all talk at once. I had

a couple of quick thoughts on the art. I will

go first. I really, really liked. everything

in this issue. I like the fact that it was a

game changer. I like the fact that I'm guessing.

I still have no idea what the heck is going on

and who's doing what, but I like the fact that

it's been set up that way. I thought it was brilliant.

I love the art, everything works for me. I'm

giving it a four. Yay. Rock on. Yes. Next. Mike,

go for it. Sorry. No, I'll give it a four. Need

to know what in the heck is going on like Margaret

has written a perfect this is what I wanted out

of Beast hunters number three and I think Beast

hunters number three was what Mike was doing

Mike Johnson three and four were his story like

this is an amazing cliffhanger story to figure

out what in the hell is going on and I think

we are gonna find out the majority of what I

think is gonna happen though at the end of four

Right you never noticed me enough, so I just

decided to pass. What if this is Ironhide's all

doing? What if he's the big baddie? No, he wouldn't

do that. Prefosterous ideas, go. Go ahead, Mike.

I think what Marigold's gonna do at the end of

this is she's gonna have some sort of panel as

far as The end for now. There was something in

Beast Hunters that they did where it was like

the end for now or something else. She's going

to leave it. She's not going to leave us on a

cliffhanger with the story as far as like, oh

my God, we have to wait a whole year to find

out what's happening to Windblade. I think she's

going to write something. She's going to write

something in there at the end that teases up

the return. I could see that happening. I think

we'll get an idea of who it was, but we might

not get all the answers. So, okay, who's next?

Heather! I don't know. All right. I'd give it

a four. You know, I can't say that the art's

perfect. They're, you know, like I mentioned

a few things and there are a couple of actually

close -ups of Starscream where he just looks

a bit wonky. and they're both kind of evil scheming

grin close -ups where there's just a little bit

more complication to his mouth shape than is

required and it looks like yeah I do not quite

buy it but um you know otherwise there's there's

amazing art um the two panels about you know

why I I was trying to help you, then why did

you stop? That's right up there for me with that

first introduction of her relationship with Metroplex

for just sheer character building power in like

one or two panels. So that rocked and I loved

it. The whole creepy torture scene was very well

done. Dark, dark, dark. I loved it. And Sarah,

Sarah, you're part of that. You're the co -conspirer

about the Four Four Seams. Yes, they are the

conspirers of evil. Yeah, so yeah, I think a

four is a really fair thing. It's good. That

ending is awesome. I don't think that you didn't

enjoy it. Just a little bit, ladies, because

I know you did. Just saying. Okay, Nicole. I

guess it's unanimous. I'm also giving it a four.

This has been my favorite issue so far. Who knows

what my number four might bring? Big words there,

Nicole. It is. Well, I think it's because she

also not only gives wing, wing, uh, wind blade.

I'm going to do that for the rest of my life.

A character, she is starting to make Starscream

have more of a personality besides. Oh, he's

just the traitor. He's the coward. No, there's

something going on with Starscream. And guess

what? People are curious about him for once.

They can't read what's going on. And I like that.

I really like that. And the big fight scene,

loved it. Like I said, it felt a little quick,

but it was still fun. It was still fun to read.

It's just like those first six pages, like, wait.

the issues a third over with, wait, you know?

And of course, the torture scene. Okay, that's

my favorite part of this book. I know that sounds

horrible, but those four pages gave not also

a great storyline, great artwork, but just everything

came together in those four pages. You just like...

Oh, yay! You know? I think we're all just, like,

evil people. We're just, like, the torches of

pain. Like, yeah, I love Last Stand of the Wreckers.

Let's do more. Oh, I had nothing on what happened

when we found out what was going on to Fort Max

and More Than Meets the Eye, that one issue where

he was, like, reliving it. I was like, holy crap,

that's so freaking dark! Oh, yeah, see, I like

dark stuff. I know, I know that's bad. Way to

go, Bear Grid. You made the chipper character

that's all positive. Like, you tortured her,

man. You tortured her. But come on. You know,

they also had Sky Byte. Boo -yah. In his shark

form. I mean, he wasn't spouting poetry. He was

flying, man. Come on. He's the coolest shark

around. Come on. Okay, so we've given this a

solid four across the board. Everybody loves

it. Everybody's okay. Cool. I think we are we're

good I think this this issue is cooked and done

I just want to say I'm excited for the next issues

because of the cover, you know It's Starscream

versus Windblade and it's just like I just picture

the Top Gun theme going on You know And in the

end he's gonna be singing that song to her So

is Starscream must be Iceman then? I don't think

Marigold will do this but unless unless they

you know unless they kill him he turns into goose

They'll certainly make him very very sad that

he doesn't have everybody on his side I hope

they damage him enough to where he has to change

bodies again. I'm serious. I, I don't mind his,

his whole head design change, but that armada

body. Sarah makes me like it. I was like, I can't

take you seriously, but serious. He's totally

rocking it there. And he really likes it too.

You can tell when he's like strutting in there.

He hasn't had a new toy announced, so I don't

think he's going to get a new body. But who knows?

Maybe he'll get the Thundercracker colored scheme,

like he did in Irma. He needs to get the G2 Thundercracker

color scheme and then try to start around. Okay

until we make it another five minutes, let's

well, thank you guys It's this has been the highlight

of my botcon attending week finishing up a review

on comic that I didn't expect to be brain -twisted

on So thanks for listening. Thanks for listening

listeners, and we'll catch you next week's on

the underbase What is the scientist to do but

uncover the greatest mystery and transformers

history Think I think wheelie wrote that it eight

years until you put a ring on it This is where

I do not want to get involved angels, thank you

Wait till you see the issue. I think he has the

issue. Don't you have the issue? No, I don't.

It's so stupid. I was $4 short. Aw. It took a

bunch of stuff in to get credit, and I was four

bucks short. I had to put back more than meets

the eye 30 and cowl number two. I'll get it next

week. It's not that big of a deal. But you got

something else in its place? Really? Yeah. Really,

really? You put more than meets the eye back.

It got something else. It better have been good.

Yeah, I don't have to try to see around the IDW

thing now. What? Oh, you picked up Windblade

instead. Okay, all right. All is forgiven. Okay,

I get it. I get it now. Okay. All right, you

sacrifice more than me say I 30 to get Windblade

3. Yeah. I can see how not having the little

IDW watermark would have been really handy because

there were a few panels in this issue that I

was like, I have no idea what's happening. That's

okay. I had a couple of those moments too. You

would be awesome if it was Dr. Arkaville. Yeah.

Oh my gosh. That would be awesome. Insane. I

could see him doing something. Did anyone dress

up as Dr. Arkaville at BotCon? No, not this year.

Dang it. You should totally do it. I saw a really

awesome Wheeljack, though. Oh my gosh. It was

like, ooh! That was Sarah. It was cool. It was

really, really cool. It was like, whoa, dude.

That was Sarah. You remember Sarah? Yes. That

was her. Sarah Duckett. Ah, what did she? dress

up as she uh well the the auto assembly that

we went together she did the wheel jack with

the light up ears are we talking about the one

that did the really good grimlock yeah that was

her oh my gosh the prime the prime wheel jack

yeah yeah that was her that was her I never saw

her take the face off, so I couldn't see. She

has pictures on her Facebook page. She didn't

even know that because she had a hard time seeing

out the mask. She didn't even know that most

people were tagging her in her photos. She's

like, I didn't even know there was this group

of kids following me. What was that from? It's

from Prime. Because you guys keep talking about

Knockout. I was kind of impressed that there

was letters in here I was happy to see them but

I don't think unless they were gonna make this

a six eight or twelve issue series I honestly

like letters on a four issue series I think it's

great that people are writing in and telling

them how much they like the book and asking them

questions and stuff but I don't know No, I think

it needs to be done with Windblade if we wanted

to see it continue. Yeah. If it wasn't happening.

I think that was really good. Yeah. Yeah. If

letters weren't coming in, I think that was probably

one of the things that pushed it to get another

series for next year. Yeah. Yeah. Especially

if they were getting more of the letters for

Windblade than more than meets the eye or Robots

of Disguise was. That's crazy. Okay. What are

you guys impressions of the fact that the next

series is gonna be called robots in disguise?

Yeah, I don't care I Genuinely don't care what

it's called. I mean, yeah, it's got a name and

so does the comic but I they're different and

I don't care In the future, but most people are

gonna know Besides we all have started abbreviating

the comic anyways. Yeah. Yeah, we've been doing

that since day one So and then and then everybody's

like, oh, but what about the other series blah

blah blah. They've already done that I'm like

that was back in 2002 and no my knowledge. Nobody

really cares about that series Of the old robots

in disguise I haven't watched it. I should totally

watch it so that I can be up on my SkyBite stuff.

That's the only reason he was in there, right?

Yeah. I have a month to get through it. Root

for me! Root for me now! You can do it, Amy!

This coming week, 4th of July... they're doing

on the fourth of july they're doing trends fourth

of july on the hub and then i was supposedly

the uh... running a a preview of the new question

honestly i'm just happy that they're keeping

batman as bumblebee that they're keeping will

freedell as the voice and not to get that's one

of the reasons why i love prime so much and now

this new series i'm very optimistic about it

because they're taking Okay, so Mr. Rack has

brought in the biggest scorpion I think I've

ever seen ever. Holy crap. You just killed a

bark scorpion. That is huge. How big is it? Like

an inch? You just killed a bark scorpion. Damn,

I don't know how big it is. It's the biggest

thing I've ever seen. Mommy, you know what? I

caught him. Mommy, I caught him. Huh? Alex caught

him. Yes. Alex caught that big one. He did not

touch that. Please say he did not touch that.

He didn't touch it, but he caught him. How did

he catch it? In this bucket. Don't you be touching

those things because they sting I Mean I'm not

kidding guys. This is like huge like the biggest

biggest picture picture Okay, taking a picture

right now. So I was on the wiki and I did a random

page What if hey go ahead talk with us on what

if it's a quintesson that'd be awesome I don't

want it to be a quintesson. I don't want James

to have access to the quintess I don't I don't

know They need to see how big references sorry

go guys Who else who else could it be? Other

that like it has to be a big bad again shockwaves

dead Megatron is running a lost light Galvatron

is running cannon shot on earth. I Don't I can't

I mean, I mean unless they're going to die Well,

unless they're going to completely jump ship

and jump series and bring in Beast Wars Megatron,

that's the only thing I can think of. I don't

know. I mean, hell, Rattrap's already there.

If you guys should go back and watch Robots in

Disguise, just for... It's worth it because the

ending is the best payoff. I can't tell you why.

It's just so happy. No, you just feel happy.

You're just like, Oh, that's awesome. And you

just get this smile on your face like, Oh, that's

cool. Cause yeah, it did seem like a show that

was a lot more just fun and upbeat than all the

other shows have been. It's really crazy. If

you're used to anime and you're used to like

the craziness of anime. It's some of the stories

run into each other, you know, it's like, okay,

I've seen this before. Take it away. But the

last episode is really happy. It's a huge thing.

Sounds so wrong. Oh, I didn't realize I hit the

button. We Decepticons now face our darkest hour.
