About this Episode

Mike and Joe dive into the Street Phantoms story arc of the IDW TMNT ongoing series (issues 61-64), exploring how Splinter's increasingly secretive and morally questionable plans push the turtle family toward fracture. They discuss Donatello's tactical preparations against the cloaked Street Phantoms, Mikey's crisis of conscience over the team's direction, Raphael's unexpected role as peacemaker, Leonardo's struggle between loyalty and independent thought, and the emotional weight of watching the brothers split over their father's decisions. They also touch on news about the 2012 Nickelodeon animated series ending after season five, with a 2D reboot in development.

Hi, this is Bobby Kernow, Chief Turtle Editor

at IDW Publishing, and you are listening to the

Polebags TMNT Back Issue Classics with Mike and

Joe Turtle Power. Welcome to the Polebags Back

Issue Classics. Join us as we talk about comics

from yesteryear, from DC, Marvel, and more. So

open your ears to hear our discussion. the older

continuities as the back issue classics are also

what's in the pull bag Hello and welcome to the

pull bag this is back issue classics episode

79 and I am of course TfU and Mike returning

from God knows what kind of dimension X hell

hole we've got Joe Reid hello, sir. Hello Hello,

it's been a... I don't even remember. Well, the

last one we did was 59 and 60, obviously. I don't

remember if we did anything between then and

now on Turtles. We did the first one, the first

six issues. Coming up in May of this year, we'll

do the next six issues, which is the BTAS TMNT

2012 crossover thing with DC and IDW. We'll have

that in May, but for now we get back to the main

Turtles ongoing. We will be doing Universe at

some point. I just don't know when yet. But the

main ongoing, we're gonna be here to talk about

the Street Phantoms arc, which is issues 61 to

64. Oh boy. This arc, wow. Dang. Obviously for...

for the uh... for the for the creative we've

got uh... waltz and and eastman and and carnaval

on the story waltz does the scripts dave walker

is on art ronda paddison on colors sean leon

letters obviously bobby kernel is the editor

and the publisher over at w is ted adams and

uh... we start sixty one off with uh... the street

phantoms and they're going to rob a van These

guys have shown up occasionally in there. Yeah,

they were introduced right at the tail end or

the middle of the Leatherhead arc and then they

played a big role in 59 and 60 because that was

where the story was going. Because part of the

story during the Leatherhead arc and then 59

and 60 was Harold finding out that his ex -wife

or his, I don't know if they're married or not

still, whatever, but Libby. uh... sold her inventions

to this done guy and uh... that's where the street

animals come from she actually created the cloaks

and whatever so the street animals look like

they're going to commit a crime but enter donatello

uh... uh... became prepared this time oh yeah

he did Well, what a surprise no, not really I

Love Dave Walker's art on this the panel where

Donnie's like no not really so much purple awesomeness

on that on those electric bits for this for the

both staff and then I like the The one at the

end there after Donnie kind of fends them all

off not bad for a glow stick, huh? It's so nice

and refreshing seeing Donnie Back in action again,

and I mean obviously he's been back since issue

50 or so, but you know Absolutely love this.

What were you thinking up to this point before

Angel comes in to do the assist here? I think

it's the Point to know Donatello coming prepared

here with these street phantoms who phase and

they go invisible and they do all this crazy

stuff He's just decked his his new metal staff

out with the some electrical field that disrupts

their cloaking and can actually Hit them when

they try to phase through it. So yeah, he was

he was totally totally prepared for that And

then good seeing him. He's also enjoying himself

Donnie's Donnie's very much enjoying himself

And as we go through here, you know, we've got

Donnie saying, not bad for a glow stick, huh?

Wait till you see our other tricks. And that's

when Angel pops up and one of the street fandoms

asks, who the hell are you? Me? I'm nobody. God,

I love saying that. Once again. You know going

through and you know putting in a character that

we would never would have thought I remember

when angel first became nobody you were kind

of shocked about it way back when uh -huh that

they would have ever really put her into or ever

really bring up the the nobody storyline thing

So it's nice to see them pay homage to something

that happened many many many years ago and And

then doing the twist with making it anal. It

fits. She's a fun character. She bounces off

of both Casey and the turtles really well. In

a series where they're paying homage to so much

that came before, they're still doing so much

fresh stuff that belongs to them that then makes

it into the cartoons or the live -action movies

or other things. It's good to see. Speaking of

the cartoons, did you see the news? I know this

is kind of in the middle of the review here,

but we'll talk about that at the end. Basically

there's news when it comes to the cartoon series.

So this battle between the turtles, nobody, and

the street phantoms goes well until one of them

pulls out an EMP gun. And yeah, that pretty much

stopped the turtles in their tracks, quite literally.

And we go, because the police start coming in

and the phantom's basically ghost. And Angel

and Donnie basically try to get the heck out

of there. Of course, Angel, her suit has no power.

So it's not exactly, you know, she can't exactly

jump up the fire escape fairly easily anymore.

And the cops show up. You see anything? Just

another wild goose chase, man. We go to... foot

headquarters where leo and jenica are good job

with the names man i can't remember this stuff

but i i pay attention to it i can't remember

the fact of it what's their name what's their

oh he knows their name okay good this is again

this is why i don't buy comics right away anymore

because i i i will have the feeling of deja vu

like i've already read this this is why when

i do The pullback episodes, so we're reviewing

these or discussing them or, you know, synopsizing

them, whatever you want to call it, I read them

like, I read these two or three hours before

we did the record, so they're very fresh in my

mind. And, you know, so she and Leo are, she's

doubting herself, you know, he's telling her

that she's an excellent fighter and because...

You know, she allowed him to get some licks in

on her. She's got some scratches on her face

and things like that. And she's like, not excellent

enough. And apparently in her former life, her

name was Jenny. So that's what Leo's going to

start calling her now. And we go to this big

meeting with Raph and Casey and Leo and Jenny

and Donnie and Nobody and April and everybody's

there. Well everybody except Mikey until you

know he comes in with some pizza of course And

we're still on this whole kick of Mikey not really

being with them and It's only going to get worse

as this arc goes through the awkward tension

going on Yes, they may be all together, but they

aren't on the same page Donnie's out there solo

Solo doing it Leo's absorbed in being a shooting

guy Yeah, and Mikey doesn't want to do with a

foot plan Yeah, and at this point in the story

when Mikey comes in all as I know about Raph

is Raph wants to kick ass I mean, that's really

all I know at this point. We get a little bit

of the flashback here talking about uh... the

events of issue fifty nine sixty with with kitsune

uh... i guess they have the the panel where splinter

says we must charge aggressively decisive course

of action against our enemies moving forward

if we are to have any chance of defeating them

i guess they gave water on the uh... on on the

radar here looks splinter looks more like a rat

in this panel and i've seen him in a long time

I think Dave did an excellent job with that up

close there. So we have April coming in to explain

about their time out southwest, and she has got

the scroll here. Oh yeah, this is coming off

of April and Casey. Yep. Or that part of it anyway.

Yep. And it's... It's... Basically a giant strategy

meeting until RAF basically butts in and says,

you know, you know, we got to, you know, what,

you know, what are we going to do about alopex?

Cause I still want a RAF alopex one shot romance.

I wonder how much. Alopex really is a foil for

the Ninjara character from the Archie series.

I know there was a very large kind of event with

two of them in that old series. I'd like to read

that and then come back to this and see if they

would, because they will eventually give us a

RAF Alopex comic. I'm confident, but I'd like

to preview that and then read this and see what

it's like, because they'll pull from it. I know

they will. so we get some more background on

alopex and how she was essentially microchipped

and things like that and they basically know

she's heading northwest and and we get an argument

between rath and splinter and you know and nobody

because rath is like you know this isn't happening

soon enough and splinter is doing some really

crazy stuff He's keeping secrets. He's doing

all this stuff We find out that he knew of Harold's

We're not to the capture yet, but what you know

splinter is He's doing some really questionable

stuff yep Very much so to where again Mikey is

still questioning it And Mikey, you know, basically

doesn't want anything to do with it. And again,

I love Dave Wachter's art here, and Rhonda on

the colors, ugh, god, it is just so good. It's

just so damn good. And it's weird for me to see

Mikey and Leo fight. The panel further down here

where Mikey says, no, stupid is attacking first.

Stupid is looking for trouble instead of stopping

it. And Leo's like, come on, save the drama,

Mike. This is serious business. And Mikey's like,

funny. That's because exactly what I thought

I was doing. And basically, Mikey walks out again.

And it's just so weird to me seeing Mikey be...

I'm going to use this line twice in this podcast,

folks, but Mikey has been trying ever since Shredder

was killed to be the voice of reason, to bring

them back to where they were. And it's not working

yet. So he keeps on leaving. I like that they

continue to play Mikey not like the idiot not

like the goofball but like the emotional one

the one who's in touch With family and and right

and wrong and all of these and innocent. He's

he's also innocent in that kind of naive way

And we were where Mikey in his innocence can

sometimes be naive. Yeah that line right there

It's time. We Leo says it's way past time. We

all grow up and deal with them like adults and

yeah that's because yeah Mikey is the only one

really acting with that clear head and then uh

visible motives you know everybody else is kind

of playing their own game but yeah I mean the

thing with Mikey is and they they've pretty much

said this throughout this entire IDW series it's

very clear both in the art and in the story that

Mikey is the youngest of them Mm -hmm, because

at a later point Raph says little bro. They all

say little bro. I don't remember I remember often

you Correct me on this. I remember initially

when I first saw bios for the turtles for Either

the original Mirage run or the original 90 film

that they showed what ages they were. They're

all teenagers, but they all are not the same.

Like Leo's, let's say 16, 17, Donny's 15, 16,

Raph's. Yeah, it was on the back of the cards,

I think. Yeah, I don't remember. Off the top

of my head. But, you know, I've always kind of

known that Mikey is the little brother. Mike,

I know people are gonna... kill me for this.

Mikey's essentially the Joey McIntyre of the

Turtles. And yes, folks, I did just compare the

Turtles with New Kids on the Block. Get over

it. I think there are incarnations where they

are all brothers. They came from the same clutch

of eggs, and so they're all equally equal in

age. In my imagination in this series, they're

either very close in age or they were from the

same clutch of eggs as turtles, but they're reincarnated

spirits. When they died, Mikey was indeed the

youngest. I mean, I think Montella was carrying

them like a baby. uh... women and humans in the

all of the plan of the one before that uh...

yeah well i have the flashback yeah yeah we're

gonna have to go back to issue five and look

and see the the the adults but just look at the

adults the uh... the that the human versions

of the turtles but just looking at this panel

where later right before mikey walks off you

you know you see uh... leo looking after him

is and get this really stern frown his face and

after mikey walks off we get the panel of everybody

there we get Jenny we get Donnie and Angel and

Splinter and April and Casey and Raph and Leo

and you look at Donnie, Raph and Leo. Raph and

Leo have the same damn frowned scowl on their

face and Donnie has more of a question look.

Raph and Leo look to be closer to the same age

so I would say maybe it's the way Dave Watcher

is drawing them in this panel but I'm not really

sure. I would say Raph and Leo are the two older

ones and Donny is the, I guess, third middle

child, whatever you want to say. And then obviously

Mikey's the youngest, but I could be wrong. Um,

I don't know. So we got issue five. Yep. Yep.

Pretty much. Um, so we get some Casey and April

stuff really quickly. And then Splinter goes

off and wants to talk to Casey about another

secret plan. and They have a nice little what

did you think of Casey and splinter here? It's

interesting to see Kate at a splinter take Casey

in on this kind of Probably a vice role or that

there's a little bit of that going on But I've

I need to I Need to review this quickly to find

out what they were talking about here. They were

talking about the whole The whole thing with,

um... You know, the terrible decision to do it

again and basically... You know, Casey wants

to know, did he regret... Did he regret killing

Shredder? Shredder, yeah. You know, that's kind

of what it is. And we obviously see something,

um... You know, happening... We we understand

that something is going to happen because something

comes up later That splinter does not tell the

others because Casey does come in later and We

go to Harold's lab and talks about he's talking

about His ex -wife or whatever then he looks

over and looks at the metalhead thing and Somebody

says cool toy and the street phantoms come in

and kidnap Kidnap Harold and that's how 61 ends

61 is Charged Emotionally it has some good action

in it. It's basically I don't want to say it's

exposition, but it's basically showing us What

certain parts of whatever splinters plan is?

That's going to eventually take down the Street

Phantoms. It's showing he's got Many sticks in

the fire and nobody knows what all of them are

except for splint hunter Absolutely, it's a it's

a it's a different way than we're usually used

to seeing him work So it's uncomfortable it's

definitely uncomfortable Yeah, very much so So

what did you think overall of 61 being the start

here for the Street Phantoms arc? It feels like

feels like that that shake up that initial and

I Let's all make it tense and get everybody uncomfortable

so that we had can have the action and then eventually

the payoff So yeah your your word of exposition

Is is appropriate, but I'm trying to think I

think there's there's a different word is that

word that I'm thinking of I don't know, they're

charging it up. They're getting us excited. Yeah,

and I think it was done really, really well.

A mix of action and storytelling. If I was going

to rate 61, I'd probably give it a 3 out of 5,

which isn't a bad grade. Because, again, love

the art. The art's amazing. It's interesting.

I'm inclined to say... Yeah, 3 .5 out of 5 or

4 out of 5. And the only reason that I would

give it that is to say that nothing moving happened,

nothing large happened. And yeah, man, that was

cool. It's a 5. But it's still very good. And

we get to see all of our characters being our

characters and really good character development

happening in this and seeds of developments that

will happen soon getting played. absolutely so

moving on to 62 we get this really cool cover

with Casey with some purple dragon graffiti above

his head love that cover and I remember what

Splinter had him do now yep so Casey goes to

the purple dragons and he is going to unite the

purple dragons Where is hung right now? I don't

know. I think he's with isn't he with Baxter?

No shredder what well no shredder was with I

don't know I Honestly, it's it's been so damn

long. I don't remember I haven't seen him in

a while. Yeah So we get Casey basically gonna

kick kick all the purple dragons asses We go

to dotty in April And they're talking about,

you know, the plan and, and, you know, he mentions

the Utroms and Professor Honeycutt and Leatherhead,

you know, basically everything that's been happening

to them over the last few, few issues and things

like that. And, um, you know, as Donnie's leaving,

he asks her any word from Casey and she basically

says, no, nothing. We've barely spoken since

we broke up. And we go back to Casey, who, as

I said before, is kicking all of their asses.

Quite literally, like, Casey Jones is a one -man

fighting machine. Yeah, it's... Man, that's...

Knowing what's coming up in the cartoon, this

is kind of interesting to see him totally owning

here. Yep. And we go to Jammer and the Street

Phantoms along with Mr. Dunn, who are going to

negotiate with their prisoner, Harold. And Mr.

Dunn says, fetch me the inventor. And of course,

the inventor is Harold's wife or ex -wife or

whoever she's supposed to be, Libby. Yep. And

we go back to the lair with Raph and Mikey and

Woody. Hey, we haven't seen Woody in a while.

And I think it's it's interesting to you to me

that ref has become the connection point for

Mikey and the rest of the turtles, you know,

usually wraps the one who gets annoyed by Mikey

I and I'm you know, probably channeling more

of the cartoon and then the comic exactly but

yeah No, you're right. I said it before I said

in issue 61. I'm gonna say it again here The

fact that Mikey, since issue 51, since the end

of Shredder, the fact that Mikey is kind of this,

I don't want to say dissident, but essentially

this person that doesn't agree with the way the

Turtles and Splinter are going with the Foot

Clan and everything else, you know, and now seeing

Wrath be the voice of reason, I mean... When

is Raphael ever been the voice of reason? And

by the end of this really really awesome exchange

they end up, you know hugging and and everything

else and it's just such a nice nice moment The

panel where where Raph is like come back Mike

if you can't do it for father do it for your

brothers Okay, please we miss you kid And you

see the look on Raph's face, and you see the

look, like Mikey's about ready to cry. And they

kind of hug it out. I'm like, damn it, Walt Eastman

and Kurnau, you're killing us here. You're just

killing us, you know? So we, I absolutely love

that moment. What did you think of this whole

exchange between Raph, Raph and Mikey? It is

it is beautiful. We always get to see Mike and

Don interacting we always get to see Leo and

Raph interacting but when very special moments

like this happen between Two characters who don't

usually get along. It's like yeah. All right.

Good job. That's nice. Absolutely And it's it's

not just one note either, you know, there's the

sentimentality and then Mikey says something

Raph's yelling and and then they come back down

he comes down it's just it's a There's a whole

roller coaster with it, too. It's not one note.

And you bring a lot of depth to these grade school

cheesy cartoon characters. Well, I mean, IDW

has been doing it for five, six, seven years

now. And like I've said a million times before,

this series is just an entire love letter to

the entire franchise. And they're building stories

here. So we go to Harold's lab and Donnie's like

Harold, you know, I know you screen the few calls

you get, but now you're, you know, screening

this and Donnie gets in and he realizes that

Harold is gone. And I think my favorite panel

of this exchange, of this scene, is Donnie, because

Donnie gets his bow out, because he's like, oh,

I wonder if anyone's here, and he's going, basically

searching through. There's a panel where it's

up close on Donnie as he's walking by Metalhead.

And oh my god, it is just so fucking cool. We're

shadowing something that happens in the universe

later, I'm sure. Uh -huh. i'm sure i have not

read universe yet again i'm kinda holding off

on this but donnie watches uh... the security

footage and it's not good he sees that harold

has been kidnapped we go to dunn's place and

we've got the inventor who is libby who is his

his ex and we've got the street phantoms and

and he you know is that dunn is telling her story

of you know how you know he was as a high school

kid and everything else and basically how he

got anybody to do what he wanted to do no matter

what and eventually he reveals to her that he

has Harold and that's not exactly thrilling for

her so I like this exchange I like that we finally

figure out you know what some of Dunn's motivations

are Libby kinda goes back and forth between I

kinda like her and I kinda can't stand her because

of her actions and stuff but overall I enjoyed

it and the issue kinda wraps up here at the end

with that's like six pages full of characters

that are not from any previous canon and that's

a good thing yeah that's a very good thing um

you know Donnie comes in you know father they

took Harold and this is where we find out that

Splint you know it happened a little earlier

than I expected yeah and he knew and he you know

wanted them and Jenica knew and and Leo's like

why didn't you tell me you know she did not tell

you Because I told her she could not. So Splinter

is doing all kinds of crazy stuff. And the issue

ends with, uh, you know, tonight we destroy the

street phantoms to be continued. Dun dun dun.

I take issue with Splinter's use of the word

destroy. That's a shredder line. A lot of the

lines that Splinter is saying in these four issues

are shredder lines. I have this thing in my head

that I'm gonna wait until the payoff at the end

of the arc, but I think that line, now we will

destroy, tonight we destroy the street phantoms,

that was done for dramatic writing purposes,

but I think knowing what Splinter's up to, knowing

what I know because I've read two issues from

now, I think he would have not used that word,

it would have been tonight we... take the street

phantoms off the board tonight we make the street

phantoms irrelevant tonight we do something not

so violent to them even though that's what he

wants to do but you know i don't want to give

away the surprise till we get there yeah yeah

it's just it's not good no and that's i mean

it's and it's splinter using words like that

that has mikey hanging out at the original layer

or the second layer, I guess we'd say. But yes,

hanging out at the turtle layer, not at headquarters

and why he wasn't going there. Yeah, absolutely.

62, I absolutely love 62. I think 62 so far is

my favorite simply because of the whole Raph

and Mikey thing. And Mikey, as I said already,

ever since the... the fallout from the shredder

thing has essentially been the voice of reason

trying to get the turtles away from splinter

and even though we we've already read and we

kind of know because we've read the other two

issues are going to talk about here but you know

i like that and i like now that you know raf

is you know also becoming a voice of reason he

wants mikey to be back with the family wants

mikey to stop looking at it as splinter made

a bad decision which splinter totally did but

you know what other decision could he have made

at the time um but yeah it's probably going to

be a four for me on on 62 i i did really really

enjoy it but i'm not there yet again dave walker's

art ron ronda paddison's colors absolutely love

those And I love the story, like I said, but

it's just not, there are moments here where it's

like, oh my, like I nearly broke down crying

when they hugged. I'm like, what the hell? Cause

like you said, you know, Raph and Mikey don't,

it's always been this way for me. It's Leo and

Raph and Mikey and Donnie. That has always been

the split with, with the four turtles for me.

And we're finally getting to see. Raph and Mikey

have have a moment. What are your final thoughts

and rating for 62? I think we with that we're

we're at a solid four and And ramping up toward

toward five, I think Mm -hmm, but yeah, it's

it's there's there's more of the drama. It's

more poignant more things are happening You know,

it started to accelerate Yeah, absolutely absolutely

is and we are going to accelerate right into

63 which the main cover for 63 is splinter looking

like a badass with all the foot clan soldiers

behind him I love this cover I wish Dave would

do covers for everything now I know his I know

his run is kind of coming to an end here pretty

soon but So far with his covers, I've absolutely

loved them I flipped open this book. I looked

at the RICC. I think that's probably Comic Con

exclusive cover and I need to go I'm I need to

go to ebay and oh, excuse me need to find that

now. Mm -hmm Absolutely, there are none on eBay

right now So the foot clans going to war, huh?

Well, yes. Yes, they are Well, I hate to be the

jerk to say I told you so and as we say every

as we see this we see the You know the foot clan

gearing up and splinter in the background, but

dudes. I totally told you so Because Raft they

hugged it out and Raft talked him into coming

back to seeing to try to be a more open mind

and obviously it's not gonna last long and then

he finds out about Harold and and you know You

know, and I think the reason why Raph brought

him back is so we consistently will see over

this issue in the final part of this arc and

the next issue in 64, the constant descent of

the family. It's breaking up. It really is. The

sons are moving away from the father because

of the father's decisions. And we find that out

at the very end of this. So yeah, they bring

Mikey in and the reason why you know you you

had said that You couldn't believe that he came

back and you know the reason why I think he came

back was that you know he and Raph hugged it

out and Raph wanted him to come back to see what

the family was going through and the reason why

I think Mikey came back is what is going to be

leading up to the end of this arc and the dissolution

of the family because the family essentially

You know that old saying don't step on a crack

you break your mother's back There's a huge Grand

Canyon sized crack between the father and the

sons and It's not even any more evident than

the panel where Donnie says to Mike right after

Mikey learns that Harold has been taken Donnie

tells him he actually called Harold an asset

can you believe that and That's why Mikey is

here to show them to show the other three turtles

That he has not been and they know they know

this that they know that he has not been good

with this whole plan Thing from the beginning

ever since you know splinter killed shredder

But the turtles, all four of them now, will see.

You know, Raph's kind of coming around to it,

Donnie's kind of, Leo's the last one to kind

of make that choice. And Splinter even tells

him, I mean, I know I'm jumping ahead here, but

Splinter does tell Leo at the end, you know,

you have to make that choice. You know, so. So

Mikey says, we've got to save Harold. And, uh,

you know, Angel's gonna show up, uh, you know,

they're gonna need all the help we can get, and

we go to, and again, I love Dave Wachter's art.

Like, the panel where, where, um, where Raph

says, Angel know all about this, Donnie. You

look at Mikey, Raph and Donnie. Mikey is just

hurt. He's just he's ready to ball out. Raph's

ready to punch something and Donnie just doesn't

know what the hell to believe anymore. Yep. And

it's showing you and you know you go to the next

panel where you basically have the three of them

together in their emotions and you know both

right before that you have Leo standing off away

from them because he is tuning he is trying to

keep the foot clan and it's just a nice juxtaposition

of seeing how the family is really split again

we you know we we we talk about the four turtles

splitting up we talk about Leo and Raph and Mikey

and Donnie go each going off as a two -person

team of the foursome and Now it's essentially

three against two. Well that panel is beautiful.

You've got, you've got Jenica standing between

Splinter and Leo. She's come between them. The

Foot Clan, the two Foot Ninjas have come between

Leo and the brothers. And so there's some really

neat kind of symbolism going on there that I

hope was intentional because it's, it's uh...

Oh, I think it was. Oh, I so totally think it

was. Very much so. And then and you know right

here in at this point I'm wondering like Leo's

always been my favorite turtle honor duty And

skill and I love those things I respect those

things quite a bit and yes Leo would be honor

duty to his master to to splinter and you know

splintered says I'm gonna take charge of the

foot clan Leo will be there saying yep We're

gonna take charge of the foot clan. So what?

But where do I like my Leo? Do I want him being

a mindless ninja? Not mindless, he's letting

Splinter do his thinking for him and respecting

his decisions and being his tool. Or do I want

my Leonardo to be more independent, more in charge,

more able to make his own decisions and make

the right decision? Yeah, absolutely. It's really

tense for me. Because I think Leo always gets

a short end. of a stick on character development

because he's always becoming the Boy Scout and

everybody, everybody loves, thinks the Boy Scout's

boring. So, you know. Yep. So we go to, back

to Dunn's place and Harold wakes up and, uh,

snap out of it, Harry. Well, I guess that answers

it. There is a hell. So we get Harold and Libby

going back and forth, back and forth with their

part of the story. Kidnapping, really, and she's

like, whatever bickering over semantics is pointless,

the past is the past, but the future, and this

is where the whole job interview thing happens,

they do cut Harold loose. Which is is interesting

that they you know they basically cut him loose

and and You know we get back to the whole thing

that stockman even tried to recruit him which

I forgot about that I mean, I knew Harold had

worked for stockman for a little while in the

beginning, but again, you know Waltz and Eastman

and I almost said layered. Wow. Waltz and Eastman

and Kernow are again, going back to continuity

that we haven't really thought about for years

because it was in those early, early issues.

And I just love that, that they're going that

far back and making sure the story continuity

is done well and done properly. And and it's

issue 63 and they haven't decided to renumber

it yet. Thanks guys. Yep Appreciate it soon as

we hit what? 74 were we've broken the record,

right? 72 is the Archie series and that that

doesn't count The Mirage volumes they should

count as a total but that's okay 72 is the highest

issue number Pardon me again. They've that they've

made it to so Well, we're probably gonna break

that because I know I just saw solicitations

for May that talk about issue 70 so We're a couple

of couple of months out and ultimately with all

the special series and on go and the Stand -alone

yeah, I think they probably are already there,

but yeah, but just the main ongoing numbers with

the main series So Leo wants yep So Leo wants

to talk to Splinter alone, so he sends Jenny

away. And, um, you know, Leo asks him, you know,

we, we, we bring up, you know, the events of,

of attack on Technodrome where they didn't tell

Splinter the secretly devised plan and the fact

that, you know, they had good reason not to tell

him. because he wouldn't be able to handle it

at that point. And Splinter goes on and tells

him that my highest priority is the family, but

as Master of the Foot Clan, I find that responsibility

has expanded beyond your brothers and myself,

which is very, very interesting. And we kind

of leave this with... We kind of leave this part

of the issue here with You know splinter saying

okay good now finish finish getting ready for

the war blah blah and the other three come up

And you know what he say oh, we got to get ready,

so they're doing this. They're they're going

to war Yeah, this is this is where splinter kind

of makes me feel feel a little better about about

things he was we didn't know what his motivations

were he's using words like destroy, but Splinter

is asking for trust. He has he has a bigger plan

and while I As a human being reading the comic

don't agree with splinter Not including the brothers

and doing this kind of backdoor dealing and and

secret things that have to happen He at least

explains it to Leonardo as to why that this is

going on and it's just hey It's bigger than me,

I have a responsibility, and it's bigger than

you guys. But hey, trust me, because it's Splinter.

And at that point, I'm kind of like, can we trust

Splinter? Do we trust Splinter? And you know,

I think we do. I think we can. I don't know.

I'm still on the fence with this. Yeah, me too,

and that's exactly where I should be. I'm not

going to go on their journey, anyway. Yeah, I'm

still on the fence when it comes to Splinter,

because again, I understand why he took over

the Foot Clan so that way no one else could turn

it to evil and everything else, but as we've

said before, he's doing stuff sort of the way

Shredder might have done it. We don't know, and

obviously Shredder was a lot more ruthless than

Splinter, but just all his personality changes

are just crazy to me. And we should, I think,

remember that Splinter, back in the day, was

a member of a ninja clan. They were assassins.

They were for hire. They got into politics and

manipulated and assassinated politicians. And

they were manipulative and backstabbing. And

so, you know, it makes sense when Splinter would...

Take over the old foot clan that he'd kind of

maybe go back to the same kind of shenanigans

They were they were up to in in 16th century

Japan and do and all of that backstabbing Secretive

shenanigery shenanigan or it's one of my favorite

words So we go back to done and Harold and Libby

and we get more of this part of the story You

know and you know, she's she consistently calls

him Harry And done even asks may I call you Harry

I am whore that name. Why else do you think she

calls me it? So done continually asks him to

join them and then Harold lists off the reasons

why he's not going to and again, you know Harold

has you know some interesting tech along with

him even though they can't see it and Libby kind

of notices it and he does the whole beep on his

glasses and ah bright shiny light in the street

phantoms are all blind and Harold runs and and

disappears and You know we've we've got him running

for his life and done basically saying go get

him go find him And alert Lupo and his men and

and all of that so we get the four turtles and

splinter outside of dun ink and angel shows up

and They're like well, what about the foot clan

and everything else and we get this well, that's

a little bit later But as they're gearing up,

you know, Donnie gets his electric No, that's

Raph. Yeah, he's passing out electrified staff.

Yeah size and Mikey get some goggles and and

But no Mikey's like but no killing right guys

wrong mutant and panel and shot. Yeah That was

a gunshot that ricocheted off of Donnie's now

bulletproof shell. I love that. And it nicks.

It nicks Raph in the arm. There's gonna be plenty

of killing. Waste them, boys. Who are those?

Are those Dunn's men? Oh, yeah. That's Lupo.

It's Lupo and his men. It's Dunn's kind of backup.

And they're in a melee and, you know, and Donnie

even says, just a dent. bulletproof shell remember

i love donnie and his bulletproof shell and he

says uh... you know leo's like uh... angels right

we're screwed if we stay in this kill zone so

what do we do we die or we fight ta ta hero shot

so good so friggin good dave walker oh my god

love that hero shot we'll learn to draw like

that And they're you know Harold turns lights

off and the the Street Phantoms are blind again.

No, you're not blind. It's just the lights are

out and We see that Libby has created her a suit

of her own which is by far the ugliest thing

I have ever seen in my entire life like Kmart

Ripley's power suit it's Kind of like lawnmower

man 2. Which I never saw. I did see the first

one. I didn't see the second one. It's just too

friggin' weird. So they kind of have words and

she's about to destroy him. Again, we get this

juxtaposition between the two scenes. Between

the inside scene with them and the outside battle

with the turtles and Splinter against Lupo's

men. And of course, you know the turtles win

this time for the most part At least until This

is where they say oh, you know, we're the foot

clan we need you know You know We back up and

Donnie's like not necessary Or no splinters like

that will not be necessary my son Donnie's like

not necessary. That's totally crazy Sorry it

took us so long master splinter We just needed

to do a little bat a little gearing up first

and issue 63 ends with Casey Jones Leading the

purple dragons Oh, no, it reminds me of 9, you

know, issue 64, the last issue here in the art,

reminds me of 90, because it's Raph and Casey,

you know, basically kicking ass and taking names.

It's not exactly the old days, but issue 63 has

got so much going. I'm already going to say a

four. I'm not going to say a five, but I love

everything about issue 63, the writing, the art.

Again, it's furthering the story. without it

feeling like it's nothing but exposition but

you know you have all of these characters who

are so dynamic getting their own spotlight throughout

the entire issue how they fit all the story into

what is this usually like a 20 page 20 27 page

book whatever it is um you know it's just so

good I've already I've already flipped open 64

because I can't wait now But you get you get

So Casey Casey shows up. He's leading the purple

dragons. They're all wearing hockey masks with

a purple dragon painted on the front of it and

You know at this point. No, it's gonna be like

old times Raph and Casey are gonna beat the snob

of all the bad guys, but At some point I hope

they realize in this book in this comic which

it's been a long times. I read it but that Dang

you master splinter. You took my friend and turned

him into The villain you turned him into the

guy that we just defeated, you know, like the

Hun led the purple dragons You've turned him

into his father. He's a gang leader now and that

that's not yes. He's on our side, but that's

not fatherly of you master splinter See I see

it a little bit differently. I agree with you

to a certain... And I know, I think I know where

you're going and I agree with you too. Continue,

continue. I see it a little differently. Yes,

Master Splinter did not tell the Turtles on purpose

that he was going to have Casey unite the Purple

Dragons, but he's having Casey unite the Purple

Dragons under the fact of helping them... Take

down done. Whereas when hun was running the purple

dragons hun was working for a shredder hun was

basically working for evil and Are there are

there parts of splinters actions that are not

you that are not evil? No, there aren't I mean

there are several points when he specifically

lies to everybody and He's not you know showing

and sharing the full scope of his plan He's not

being totally honest with himself or with his

sons But the fact that Casey shows up to essentially

save the day that's something Conway would have

never friggin done because hun is a personality

in this comic series that He's constantly jealous.

He's constantly felt like he has been put down.

He's constantly got that chip on his shoulder

You know all of that So I see it as completely

I do see your point where it feels like you're

having the Jones boys do the same thing, but

it really isn't because Casey is showing the

purple dragons that there are good ways to deal

with being in a gang and I'm not condoning being

in a gang at all but you know at least they're

doing something good with it now but then you

get you get the nearly the last panel of the

fight to join for why you're here dressed up

like this join forces with the Foot Clan just

like Master Splinter planned you know to help

you guys run the city after we trashed the fandoms

didn't your dad tell you and then there's this

resentful Raph looking over his shoulder saying

no Yeah Yeah, and this is again going to my point

earlier of how why Mikey came back and Mikey

okay, Mikey really doesn't have anything to do

here with it, but That was the whole point of

Mikey coming back so he could be the catalyst

to everyone else having to be shown what splinter

is really doing and donnie is kind of seen it

as i said earlier leo at the end of this issue

leo's kind of the last one that has to make a

choice and splinter forces him into that choice

and says something specific to him about that

choice and we'll talk about that we get to it

later in sixty four but the fact that raf is

next in line to basically sales for you rat you

know it's very very interesting So they've dispatched

all the thugs. And now the Foot Clan, it doesn't

look like the Purple Dragons are going in, but

the Foot Clan and the Turtles and Angel and Splinter

are all headed in to rescue Harold. Absolutely.

And once again, the art is just super, super

crazy. I'm really digging it. Yeah, I need to

get better. Yeah, come on now I mean, you know,

I have yet I've been working on so since the

land I'm kind of deviating here, folks, just

a little bit. But since the last time that Joe

and I had a chance to sit down and actually talk,

I've actually put stuff up on my walls and everything

else. And I have yet to open my IDW turtles thing

that Doug had got me. Oh, yeah. I've yet to open

that one, because I don't have a frame for it

yet. But I also have the one that you had sent

me. I think it was from the game or whatever.

I remember when I first got that roll, I'm like,

Looked at the side of it where the address is

I'm like oh my god. I have an original Joe Reid

on this so Because I think you drew Leo or you

drew one of them So yeah, so yeah, so we got

Casey and and raff and you know I'm kind of going

back and trying to catch up here and you know

as this starts we get rat you know we get Casey

pulling out the double bats and in the mix again

together Just like old times. I don't know, man.

I mean, I miss scrapping with you and all, but

this ain't like old times. And we see this really,

really awesome battle between the Purple Dragons

and Lupo's men. And we get, you know, like you

said, Raph asking about, you know, Casey saying,

well, you know, didn't Splinter tell you? And

this is where You know, Raph is like, oh, what

about Alopex? And Donnie's like, but Harold is

still in trouble, and we're here now, so they

all agree to go save Harold. Once again, a nice,

really great hero shot. Not as great as the one

that was in 63 with the kind of explosion off

of it, but a really great city shot of all, you

know, the Foot Ninja, of the Turtles, Splinter.

Just everybody, absolutely love it. The art in

this in this arc has just been so good We go

back to Harold and Libby and she he basically,

you know says to her that asks her why are you

here and She wants to renew their partnership

and you know, he basically says yeah, but you

stole my ideas She's like your ideas and shoots

at him and They are a perfect married couple

Don't be up truce, dude And Libby does tell him

the first time for everything I suppose I gained

it all Wealth power you name it and yet in the

end life is empty without you to share it with

that's a nice little touching moment and then

the Street Phantoms come in and And then the

turtles break in and we see that you know his

You know, he's gonna go help his friends and

she calls him a damn stubborn goat and we get

done kind of preparing And we get splinter in

the elevator with the foot ninja which I am sorry

there at least they get splinter least four different

foot ninja that I can make out and looks like

a couple of shadows in the background an Elevator

has a weight limit folks Don't get me wrong.

I know I'm nitpicking here. I understand that

but come on There's no way splinter and looks

to be like six foot ninja can safely fit in an

elevator And the turtles they are climbing the

stairs And it's this really cool, awesome stairway

battle. It reminds me of the stairway battle

in Daredevil Season 2. I love that season. I

love that scene. Yep. That's what it reminds

me of. The whole stairway battle here absolutely

reminds me of that. And Donnie and the rest of

them have tech so they can see the Street Phantoms

now so they can watch out for the EMP guns. Which

is really really interesting Harold is still

trying to escape and he gets up to the point

of getting near an exit door to the stairs which

is not a good idea because Libby comes up behind

him and You know we've got one of the start.

Oh my god Street phantoms. Oh my god, dude. I

almost called them star jammers. I almost went

x -men on you So so Harold kind of opens the

door he's basically telling Libby to forget it

and and The street phantom behind the door is

like Oh inventor And this is when, you know,

a tragedy strikes, she goes to save Harold, and

the... I almost said it again, the street phantom.

Thank you. He basically kills Lily, Libby. He

basically slices her open. And then this prompts

Harold to basically want nothing more to do with

the turtles. He's done with them. Yep. With them

and their... Because Harold's not a violent guy.

He's never been a violent guy. And, uh, and yeah,

he's, he's pretty much done. He even, you know,

he says, um, I'm not okay, Donatello, not in

the least. I should be relieved to see you. I

honestly thought I would be. But now I realize

ever since you barged into my life, it's been

nothing but chaos. I create, you destroy. No

more. I'm done with you and your damn ninja clan.

Get away from me before you bring any more destruction

into my life. Mm -hmm. So Leo's like come on

Donnie Angel will get herald to safety and they

leave and and They have to deal with done and

we get this really nice shot of him facing off

against the foot ninja And he's basically gonna,

you know football football ism And we have this

really epic shot of the unmasked Street Phantoms

one Looks to be about four different foot clan

members all the turtles standing together splinter

kind of standing he's in the center, but he's

kind of Like he's not if splinter and the turtles

were together on on this and they were a family

I would expect The foot soldiers to be on the

side like on the two sides of the panel and the

turtles behind splinter but the way this looks

to me like it's two very defined sides is the

turtles and then it's splinter and the foot clan

and we have a fight between splinter and done

which the best panel of this issue is at least

for splinter sake in his action shots is You

know where where he says your inventor lost and

despite your Admiral prowess just that that whole

uppercut Oh my god, that's awesome and Splinter

gives the guy a choice. He gives him the choice

of surrender or you know You know basically saying

the terms of the surrender are we take over everything

and And Donnie's like, what is he talking about?

And Mikey's like, we're gonna steal all their

stuff? And of course, Don is not going to be

out Don and he's not going to give in and Splinter

has Jenica kill Don. Wow. Yeah. Not cool, Master

Splinter. Not cool at all. And all the Street

Phantoms are like, holy, they killed him. Again,

he did it again. I can't do this guys anymore.

It's too It's too insane and this is where Donnie

and Raph Mikey's right. He's been right all along

This and Raph even says yeah, this ain't us Not

one stinking bit of it and they all walk away

leaving Leo to ask master splinter or basically

tell master splinter that he's you know turn

them into crooks and murderers and this is epically

awesome and he tells them that this isn't strength

it's wrong and we go through this and and you

know at the end here splinter says your brothers

have made their decision and now you must do

so as well i can no longer lead them leonardo

that duty now falls to you between splinter's

panel And where it's showing him and Leo's panel

where it's showing. Oh, Dave Walker, man, you're

just killing it on the art and Rhonda on the

colors and just at all. My God, the look on Splinter's

face and the look on Leonardo's face is just

so crazy. And just even the the two other panels.

after that where leo says i understand master

you look at the juxtaposition of the art with

leo and as he's walking away and then we get

a close -up on splinter in his shame for what

he is he knows he fucked up he knows he did i

don't know i read that as he's sorry he's losing

his son that he wishes his son yeah i'm on that

journey but i don't think i don't yeah you know

i don't think it's going to change what he's

up to just yet And, you know, we get, uh, you

know, at the end Splinter, you know, saying,

remove the cloaks from the prisoners. And they're

like, and then what? Are you gonna slice and

dice us too? No, then you are going, then you

are free to go. And when you do, be certain you

share with others like yourselves the important

lesson you have witnessed this day. The Foot

Clan is not to be trifled with. Dun, dun, dun.

To be continued. Oh. My. God. Yeah, that didn't

end like I remembered it. I mean, you know, I

just had put enough distance in between that

to say, wow, man, this is not the splinter from

the Nick show or the old cartoon. This is not

the splinter from anything previous to what we've

already had. It's awesome. I can't believe Nickelodeon

let them do that. They had to preview that. I'm

sure. But I mean, you know, Just, you know, the

whole thing with, um... I don't see why Nickelodeon

wouldn't... They've had what? Like I said, five

or six years at this point with this comic series?

You know, they killed Donatello. Yep. You know

what I mean? Who would have ever thought Nickelodeon

would allow them to kill a turtle? You know what

I mean? So, allowing them to turn Splinter the

way that they've turned him is just wow. It's

a good question to ask Bobby, like how did Nickelodeon

let you get away with that? How hard did you

have to talk him into it? Oh, absolutely. Once

we get a few more recordings under our belt this

year, I'm so getting Bobby back on the show because

we've got to talk to him. Yep, yep, yep So that

becomes a five because things are are awesome.

I'm gonna write that yeah, absolutely Absolutely

this issue is most definitely a five It really

really is the arc overall I would say is probably

a four and a half all four issues together But

this issue was most definitely a five, and I

cannot wait to see what happens in the next few

issues. I have to look at the next storyline,

because that's how we're probably going to do

this. So I don't know exactly how the next few

issues are going to play out. I know from previews

and things like that, from when these first came

out, that issue 65 is kind of a... Kind of a

Christmas issue, but it isn't really a Christmas

issue. I just know Mikey's gonna try to lift

everybody's spirits and Yeah, I've read that

and yeah, it was it was kind of nice. It's kind

of sweet They've definitely taken a break from

things and letting everything chill out because

that was heavy. Yeah Like okay, I need to go

get the rest of the books out and reread them

Yeah And I and I think that's one of the interesting

things for me, you know reading these fresh and

not like Like I said at the beginning of the

podcast tonight today tonight whenever people

listening to this I don't go like I don't have

the well I don't know the I don't always have

the funds, but I don't have the need to go to

comics all of your to even go to one of the comic

shops and go get books anymore do i still love

comics actually i would not have been doing this

podcast for five and a half you know years or

five years of this point i didn't love it but

i love being able to be in the moment and be

intake those moments and reactions and bring

them to these recordings to be able to read through

the comic like i said two or three hours before

i do a review because that way it's so fresh

and it's a fresh you know reaction to Versus

oh, yeah, I remember that yeah, I owe it to you

and the listeners to make sure I'm previewing

these more closely because There was a point

where we were recording them, you know the a

couple days after they were read so like they

were right there but Yeah, I will I'm excited.

It's just too good man. It's too good. Yeah,

absolutely I'm Falling out of it and I can't

because I owe it to these guys to pay attention

to this wonderful work That's what's going on.

Can't read this with my son yet, though. I don't

wanna go there. Yeah, I don't know. Oliver, I

think, is a little too young still for this Turtles.

Even some of the Nick episodes are a bit heavy

for him in the spooky department or in the gross

disgusting department. The most recent... version

of the shredder, spoiler free, was moderately

upsetting to his six -year -old, I have a sensitive

stomach. Oh boy. Alright. So yeah, folks, at

the end of this here, we're going to talk briefly

about the 2012 cartoon series. It is ending.

after season five, and they're going to be doing

a 2D reboot. And it's not gonna be Ciero and

Niele. It's gonna be somebody else doing it.

We don't know who the voice cast is gonna be

just yet. And this is the same thing that happened

with Transformers Prime. Transformers Prime is

a 3D cartoon, and then they have the current

Robots in Disguise cartoon, which is 2D. And

really what it all comes down to, folks, is cost,

because 3D animation for a television show, we've

had four and a half, five seasons almost out

of Turtles. That's a lot of money on production

for animation, especially for 3D animation. I

don't know what the new series is going to be,

I don't know where they're gonna start it or

whatever, but now that I know it's not, it's

going to be its own thing, it's not going to

essentially take the 3D series and turn it 2D,

you know what I mean? Yeah, I think they're almost

due for a reboot. They've done a lot with Nick

Turtles. There's nowhere left to go that the

Turtles haven't gone. And and they've gotten

the development and knowing that it's ending

they're going to be able to Actually put a period

on the story which come to think of it I don't

think there's really been the end of a turtles

story before it You know, they always kind of

petered out and it disappeared So this will be

really good to see to let the next series which

has been really good when it's on on point To

let them wrap up the whole thing as far as you

know a reboot animated thing like okay yes it's

gonna be cheaper though what I hope doesn't happen

is that I hope this doesn't go from forgive me

for maybe not having the whole title but that

wonderful serious Teen Titans tone to Teen Titans

go like I don't want to see that shift from something

amazing to something that's out yeah well and

crazy because that That sounds like what they're

bringing it back to, that this should be a little

more for the kids. So yeah, you know, I am an

adult and I like to be able to watch this stuff

and not feel like a child. But am I going to

be able to tolerate it? I don't know. We'll find

out. Can I stomach it? You know so hey, it's

just I get to go along on the journey again You

know when the Nick thing came out, and I remember

the first promotional shot I was like they have

three toes turtles only have two toes You know

I was like that's the first thing that they've

ruined it. They've got it gone Played that dork,

but but you know it ended up being being okay

In the beginning and then got great, so you know

let's see what happens with it. I'm not gonna

be upset until Until it's absolutely unwatchable

Absolutely I'm hoping because I don't know I

think they had an image with the story that they

did But I don't know if they've got any actual

promotional art for it yet Yeah, there was the

art that they attached to that was just the next

series art and not the new art yet, okay? I'm

hoping it's more akin to the style of either

the 2003 series or even the 80s. I'm just saying

the animation style art would be cool. If they're

going to do 2D, they could do it in the 2003

style or something like that. It doesn't, you

know, like you're saying with Teen Titans versus

Teen Titans Go, I've never been a fan of the

original Teen Titans cartoon. It's just not my

thing. And Teen Titans Go just as much as I like

Greg Sipes as Mikey. Yeah. Beast Boy annoys the

shit out of me all of those characters annoying

me So You know is just one of those things where

like you said I hope it's not that drastic of

a change But I understand there's going to be

a change and that's fine Coming up inside the

pull bag the last episode here in March We're

gonna be talking Steve Megatron is gonna come

back with me and we're gonna go over the first

four issues of a series called the girl so that's

that's gonna be coming the uh... the writer of

that series contacted me uh... through twitter

and and things like that we're gonna set up a

review of of the first four issues of the girl

and then we'll probably interview him and then

uh... that'll round out march of our five -year

anniversary this year in in april we're gonna

get auto -botly that's right auto -botly april

it's gonna be all transformers comics in april

so we're gonna go back this is a couple years

ago now i reviewed the well the names have changed

since then but it was more than meets the eye

and robots in disguise were the two ongoings

uh... i'd reviewed the first five trades from

each of those series and we're going to go back

and we're going to do two trades one podcast

uh... so the first of the so we want to see i

volume six and seven uh... in the middle there

will be volume six and seven for rid volume eight

nine for ridden then book ending it will be more

than meets the eye volume eight nine so it's

gonna be interesting i believe ryan an info murkley

is going to join me for that maybe enter comes

back i don't know i don't know if and it will

come back is originally uh... and my buddy Ender,

and my buddy Lady Rek on Twitter. They, at Ender

Hates on Twitter, and Amy's is at Lady of Rek

on Twitter. They did... The original reviews

for me because or with me because I remember

when I first started wanting to read the Transformers

IDW stuff was when Ender was talking about oh

my god I can't believe the origin of shockwave.

It's so cool. It's so great and You know all

this or anything else, and I'm like is it really

that good is if it's that good I should read

it because I've always kind of like shockwave,

so and I read it and whatever else So that's

what's coming up in in April. It's gonna be autobotley

April And then in May we've got Batman Month.

Batman Month returns for the first time in a

year and a half or so. It's gonna be myself and

JT from Saskatoon talking about the next two

arcs in the 2015 Batman Beyond series, City of

Yesterday and Wired for Death, and then we'll

talk about the first technically three issues.

of the 2016 Batman Beyond series. We start with

the rebirth, number one, the one -shot, and then

we talk about the first two issues of the series

proper, one and two. In the middle there, Joel

and I will be back to talk about Batman TMNT,

one through six, because that's got, that's the

BTAS DC Animated Universe Batman, Kevin Conroy

Batman, and the 2012 Turtle series, so it'll

be that. And then kind of rounding it out, either...

I'm trying to think. Either JT will do this with

me or I'll find somebody else. We're going to

talk about the first two issues of the Stephanie

Brown Batgirls series. So that's going to be

interesting. That's what's coming up here in

the pull bag. And then June will be Robin Hood

Month from Xenoscope Entertainment, where Steve

Megatron and I talk about the four volumes of

the Robin Hood ongoing series from Xenoscope,

Grim Fairy Tales, all that good stuff. So that's

a few months worth of content here in the pull

bag. Are you guys doing a geek sale in June or

are you not going to have enough time because

of, you know, things happening in your life?

The plan usually is that on the first weekend

after school that's out in our area, so the second

weekend or the third weekend of June. However,

it's been pointed out that I will have a one

month old at that point because I didn't, you

know, put... the calendar together so I usually

make the decision in spring break I have enough

friends that have helped me run it that it could

probably happen without my oversight and be quite

successful but you know we'll see I'm playing

it by ear I've got a lot of stuff I need to sell

my geek fund is empty and I have Ninja Turtle

comics that I want to buy so you know gotta get

on that absolutely Alright folks, that's gonna

do it for us. Join us next week when Steve Megatron

returns and we talk about this new series Geek
