Year Two Changes and Plans for The Pull Bag

League Unlimited, Batman, Superman, and a lot

welcome to the pull bag this is the year two

announcement that's right as of march 5th we

have been a podcast online one year here in the

gcrn i am eros tfgmike and joining me is steve

mechatron hello yo uh and i actually wrote this

up as a blog post it's still going to be a blog

post but i'm gonna add this little audio to the

blog post of how the changes of the pullback

are gonna take effect in year two. We are going

to go to specifically trades for the most part.

There will be some single issue coverage like

with the first two or three issues of a series,

but after that it's mostly gonna be trades. The

single -issue episodes aren't really getting

a lot of comments. I don't know why You know,

I think you and I do a really good job on the

bat books I know JT and I do a really awesome

job on Batman 66 and superior spider -man when

we were covering that but I just find that reading

books reading comics and trades is so much better

and It gets more of a response Will say that

the origins back issue classics and after darks

are all going to remain in the pullback for year

two Sadly It's actually better. It's not really

a sad thing, but originally I was gonna do a

Green Lantern month this year in July then I

looked at the kind of Green Lantern's origins

and his 75th anniversary is in 2015 so I'm gonna

push the Green Lantern month back a year that

way he can have his 75th celebrated properly

we are going to have that month in May celebrating

75 years of Batman where JT and I are gonna do

issues 5 through 8 from Batman 66 You and I are

going to do some Beware of the Batman coverage,

and then you and I and who knows who else are

going to cover Batman Year One, The Dark Knight

Returns, Killing Joke, A Death in the Family,

and then we're going to have a big episode. Episode

75 is going to be the big Batman 75 years in

the Cape and Callum. We're going to talk about

all things Batman comics. movies, TV, music,

everything. And then we're gonna jump into the

new 52 with Court of Owls and Night of Owls,

Death of the Family. On Death of the Family,

we're gonna have a discussion. It's not gonna

be a review like we did originally in the GCR,

how the pullback actually all started was you

and I doing the special episodes for Death of

the Family. We're gonna have an overall discussion

on that in zero year. And then after that, the

pullback is gonna take on a bunch of new stuff.

we're gonna take on stuff in story arcs. So the

first four issues of Tomb Raider, the first couple

issues of Rocky and Bullwinkle, I'm gonna give

Dexter's Lab a couple of issues coverage, 24.

I will be covering the Flash Annual number 3

in Flash 31 since that's the new 52 debut of

Wally West, yo. Then I will be covering, I don't

know if you're gonna be interested in this, but

I'll be covering Kyle Higgins' new creator -owned

series called Cowl. It's based off the events

of his short film called The League. I'm gonna

be breaking some new ground on a comic series

from DC Vertigo called Coffin Hill. So that's

gonna be interesting. JT and I are gonna do Forever

Evil, issues one through seven. Joe Reed and

I from Off the Cuff have been doing the IDW main

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. That's going

to continue. JT and I are going to continue with

the new animated adventures for the turtles.

And we're also going to have Transformers coverage.

I don't know if it's going to be Ender returning

with me for those, or Lady Rek, but I do have

someone else on tap. Probably around July, August,

or September is really where the... pullback

after dark general discussion episodes are probably

gonna kick into high gear I'm trying to change

it up people I'm trying to be fresh and do different

stuff other than just DC and superhero most of

the titles I just named a good majority of them

are IDW but I'm not just sticking to one or two

comic companies. I'm trying to find franchises

or characters or stories that I like. Coff and

Hale from DC Vertigo. The only reason why I'm

interested in that is because it takes place

in Massachusetts. And I'm from Massachusetts.

I'm sure once I read it, I'll like it or dislike

it on its own merits, but the only reason why

I even have that on my radar is because of that.

Alright, so... Next this year and every year

forward there will be three Marvel months per

year Marvelous March Punisher month in November

And in December we're gonna have daring December

which is gonna be all about daredevil stuff Nice

Yeah, so there will be plenty of Marvel coverage

as well as the back -issue classics I know the

back -issue classics right now are focused on

the turtles books from IDW. Those will have other

stuff covered I'm talking with Joe Reed and Art

Danner from off the cuff and seeing what they

want to do and what they want to cover and there

may be times people this year There may be times

where I only introduce an episode and I let somebody

else come on and talk about a comic that they're

interested in reviewing. So, there's gonna be

a whole bunch of different stuff that I haven't

even mentioned yet, but I don't even know what's

gonna happen. But it's gonna be really, really

interesting and I hope everyone sticks on board

with the pull bag. Do you have any insights you'd

like to pass on? Not that I can think of. So

we've been going a full year here in the pull
